- 0:00SPEAKER_01: A goal without a plan is just a wish,
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: and wishing gets us nowhere in the marketplace or in life.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: Diligence turns vision into results, and Scripture makes it clear.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: A plan submitted to God's direction will take us further than hustle alone ever could.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Today, our focus is Proverbs 21.5 because it's the 21st day of the month.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Marketplace Proverbs and Coffee with Ernie,
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: where a proverb a day keeps stinking thinking away.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I'm Ernie Lansford,
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: and my desire is to help you connect biblical wisdom
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: to everyday marketplace decisions,
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: allowing you to build relationships that outlast any transactions.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: We do our best to bring timeless biblical truth into the marketplace.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Where influence is real, choices are constant, and relationships matter more than results.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: So, pour yourself a cup of coffee,
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: tea, latte, soda, whatever it is you like to enjoy, and let's get started.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Today, I am sharing from Chapter 21 of Marketplace Proverbs,
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Volume 2, Micro to Macro, The Ripple Effect of Influence.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I'm going to quote Proverbs 21.5 from two translations.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: First one from the New King James Version, and then the second one from the Message MSG Version.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Quote, The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty,
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: but those of everyone who is hasty surely to poverty.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Proverbs 21.5 NKJV
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: And then the message version is careful planning puts you ahead in the long run.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Ernie and Scurry puts you further behind.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Proverbs 21.5 from the MSG version.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: You know, planning really isn't optional.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: It's essential.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: And the difference between abundance and lack often comes down to whether we move
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: with intention or scramble in haste.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Miguel de Cervantes once wrote, The man who is prepared has his battle half-fought.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: And in Proverbs 16.3, Preparation is both practical and spiritual.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Quote, Share your plans with the Lord and you will succeed.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: That's Proverbs 16.3 from the CEV.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: You know, faith in God is never passive.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: We still do the work.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: We still plan.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: But we start by surrendering those plans to God,
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: knowing He,
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: through His Holy Spirit,
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: and His other children can guide us where we need to go,
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: or even change our direction entirely for our good.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Jesus pointed out the need for planning in Luke 14, 28, when He said, quote,
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: to complete it?
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: End quote.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Whether you're preparing for a sales call,
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: launching a product,
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: organizing a trade show,
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: or hosting a team meeting, planning is the foundation for excellence.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: And in the marketplace itself,
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Well-thought-out actions build trust,
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: credibility,
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: and lasting relationships because well-thought-out actions are a way
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: to add significance to others.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Now, if you've read my books,
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: blogs, or former Wednesday's Wisdom emails, you well know that I love acrostics.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And with this in mind, I created an acrostic for the word plan, P-L-A-N.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: The P, Preview.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: What is the product or service?
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: And what does it to?
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: L, Learn.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: How will the customer use it?
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: And why would they want it?
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: And how will it improve their life or business?
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: And A is Assess.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: Who needs it and why?
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: And N, Navigate.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: What barriers might block customer success and how will you plan to work through them?
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Each step may seem small,
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: but done consistently,
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: they create ripple effects,
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: transforming micro moments into macro impact on your customers,
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: your team, and your mission.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Today's customer success code, PLANS BUILT WITH DILIGENCE CREATE ABUNDANCE.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Plans surrendered to God create impact.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: We have some action points for you.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: The theme is planning with intention.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: The first action point is run every task through the plan acronym.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Preview, learn, assess, and navigate.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Whether it's a big project or a single client meeting, give it the same intentionality.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Action point number two, pray over every plan.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Don't just set goals.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Invite God into them.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Ask for wisdom and direction and clarity and the skill before you ever take the first step.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Action point number three, review and reflect.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: After execution, ask, did this align with God's will?
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Did it honor my values?
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Did it serve others with excellence?
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Did I lift up souls or cast stones?
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Point number four, action point number four, anticipate the obstacles.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Identify possible roadblocks early so you're prepared to handle them without panic.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Action point number five is stay flexible.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Remember, God may adjust your plan mid-course.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: See these shifts as divine redirection, not failure.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Thank you for joining me for today's episode of Marketplace Proverbs and Coffee with Ernie.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: As I share insights from Proverbs to inspire better customer success mastery in
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: the marketplace, I want to be clear.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: My goal is to offer practical applications from my own experience, not to teach doctrine.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: I'm committed to staying true to God's Word and avoiding any false teaching,
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: focusing only on how these verses guide us in serving with integrity and wisdom.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: So if you hear me spreading false doctrine, please call me out.

- 7:49SPEAKER_01: May the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.

- 8:01SPEAKER_01: That's how we grow today.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: I'm not doing any self-promotion.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: I'm just relying on those who subscribe and listen to share it with others.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: And remember, success is temporal.
