- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chilly Mornings on demand on ninety seven point one.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, I guess the meteorologists and the Weather Service will
- 0:09Speaker 2: be cutting some refund checks for yesterday's forecast were Toby
- 0:12Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one
- 0:14Speaker 2: wash FM. Yeah, about that weather yesterday, And I think.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It depends on where you live. I mean, there were
- 0:21Speaker 3: certainly strong storms or rain that came through, but no
- 0:25Speaker 3: tornadic activities as they said there could be, and.
- 0:29Speaker 2: No reason to dismiss schools that early, and to dismiss
- 0:33Speaker 2: the workforce that early. But everybody was going off of exactly,
- 0:37Speaker 2: let's be honest, bad information, and.
- 0:40Speaker 3: They can only predict what they're seeing on a radar
- 0:44Speaker 3: at the time that they're calling it. And that's what
- 0:45Speaker 3: makes weather so tough to predict.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That's all right.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I mean, you've got parents that were upset in Loudon
- 0:50Speaker 3: County that they didn't dismiss early. You've got parents on
- 0:53Speaker 3: the other side after the facts say well we dismissed
- 0:55Speaker 3: for nothing. Everybody's doing the best they can folks.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Often when it comes to the weather, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:02Speaker 2: God decides to show up and remind you who is
- 1:05Speaker 2: in charge. Yesterday was a prime example of this.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and we're just grateful that there weren't tornadoes and
- 1:13Speaker 3: the widespread power outages. So look, I'm just thankful and
- 1:18Speaker 3: feeling happy today that we did not lose the power.
- 1:21Speaker 3: And there you go. Maybe it's the luck of the
- 1:23Speaker 3: Irish happy.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yes, that's right, for those who observe and who celebrates. Yes,
- 1:28Speaker 2: the luck of the Irish smiled upon us. For those
- 1:30Speaker 2: who were a little anxious about the weather yesterday, I'm
- 1:34Speaker 2: I'm kind of excited and feeling good because there's going
- 1:37Speaker 2: to be a tremendous baseball game in this whole World
- 1:40Speaker 2: Cup kind of thing. It's not called the World Cup,
- 1:42Speaker 2: but it's Venezuela versus the United States, and it's for
- 1:48Speaker 2: the gold, as it were. It's for the title of
- 1:51Speaker 2: world champion, and it's happening later on today, and I'm
- 1:56Speaker 2: just excited about it because both teams are great, but
- 1:59Speaker 2: this one is going to mean something. And that's later
- 2:03Speaker 2: on today. So now that we've got the weather behind us,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and we've told you why we're feeling good today, why
- 2:07Speaker 2: are you feeling good? Because the weather did not really
- 2:11Speaker 2: show up as they forecasted. Maybe it's something else eight
- 2:15Speaker 2: sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one. Give
- 2:18Speaker 2: us a call. In the meantime, hangout top Stories at
- 2:20Speaker 2: the top of the hour. On the way.

- 2:43Speaker 3: Chief of Staff Susie Wilds has been diagnosed with early
- 2:46Speaker 3: stage breast cancer, but will continue working while undergoing treatment.
- 2:51Speaker 3: He also said that her prognosis is excellent. The board
- 2:54Speaker 3: of the Kennedy Center has voted to shut down operations
- 2:57Speaker 3: for two years after the July fourth celebration to allow
- 3:01Speaker 3: for major renovations. The board also named Matt Floka as
- 3:05Speaker 3: the Center's new president. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser says she's
- 3:10Speaker 3: not happy that a large teen gathering led to fights
- 3:13Speaker 3: and criminal activity in the Navy Yard area over the weekend,
- 3:17Speaker 3: and she said yesterday there are many programs teens can
- 3:20Speaker 3: take advantage of to stay out of trouble. A bill
- 3:23Speaker 3: that could allow a casino in Tyson's past the Virginia
- 3:26Speaker 3: General Assembly and now headed to the Governor's desk. If signed,

- 3:33Speaker 3: in a referendum before any casino can be built. A

- 4:50Speaker 3: We pause it this time every morning to share a
- 4:52Speaker 3: quote to get you into a good morning mindset.
- 4:55Speaker 2: From Pablo Picasso this morning, the chief enemy of creativity
- 4:59Speaker 2: is good scent. Think about that, Pablo Picasso, The chief
- 5:03Speaker 2: enemy of creativity is good sense. You know, I think
- 5:07Speaker 2: this is important because sometimes the smartest move that we
- 5:11Speaker 2: can make is daring to think differently. Some people like
- 5:16Speaker 2: raise eyebrows at it, but you know, maybe they don't
- 5:19Speaker 2: think quite like you do. So embrace that difference. Think
- 5:23Speaker 2: differently and remember Pablo Picasta says, the chief enemy of
- 5:27Speaker 2: creativity is good sense. So what will you create today?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Keep that in mind as you do. Hopefully it helped,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and if you need to read it again or you
- 5:37Speaker 2: want to find it, you can at Toby and chilipage
- 5:39Speaker 2: washefm dot com, check out our insta in all of
- 5:42Speaker 2: the above. You know, social media it's a thing. And
- 5:45Speaker 2: stay with Toby and Chili in the morning because next
- 5:47Speaker 2: on ninety seven point one WASHM.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Parents of preteens and teens, it has now we have
- 5:53Speaker 3: now entered the phase with my son where the funk
- 5:56Speaker 3: is the forefront.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Oh boy of his age. And we're not talking about
- 6:02Speaker 2: the funk like funk music.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Right, No, we're talking about the smelly kind of.
- 6:06Speaker 2: The funk of forty thousand years is Michael Jackson.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yes, but we found a product that he seems to
- 6:12Speaker 3: love and it's actually helping with the situation. Anyway, I'll
- 6:16Speaker 3: tell you more about it, and especially their marketing, which
- 6:20Speaker 3: is geared towards these kids coming up.
- 6:21Speaker 2: In just a few minutes, me something funny in the
- 6:24Speaker 2: back seat, don't miss this, and he goes.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Okay, parents of tweens and.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Teens, peeps who have gone through the pre pubescent phase
- 6:33Speaker 2: and have now full blown into puberty, gathered around ninety
- 6:36Speaker 2: seven point one watch FM. So we at Chili in
- 6:38Speaker 2: the morning, and Chili has found something that I hope
- 6:42Speaker 2: works to relieve the funk because well, I'll just let
- 6:46Speaker 2: you explain this funk and we're not talking about funk
- 6:49Speaker 2: soul music.
- 6:50Speaker 3: No. So my son is twelve and I think any
- 6:53Speaker 3: parent of tweens or teens knows it. At some point
- 6:56Speaker 3: when puberty hits odors start to appear. Okay, I mean
- 7:00Speaker 3: you know it's it's your little boy or girl is
- 7:03Speaker 3: not so little anymore. And his regular body wash Toby
- 7:07Speaker 3: somehow wasn't cutting it. And so my husband Don decided
- 7:10Speaker 3: to go on Amazon and find a product that spoke
- 7:14Speaker 3: to him. Yeah, my husband who was doing the research, okay,
- 7:19Speaker 3: and he bought this body wash and hair shampoo thing.
- 7:22Speaker 3: It's JB Scrub is the company. Now I'm we're not
- 7:25Speaker 3: getting paid but for that, but it basically said you
- 7:28Speaker 3: can conquer adolescent funk with confidence. And what my husband
- 7:32Speaker 3: loved most is on the back of this bottle, it
- 7:35Speaker 3: literally gives you an instruction or the child in instruction
- 7:38Speaker 3: on how to do it, and it just simply says pits,
- 7:42Speaker 3: nuts and butts and just in that order, and to
- 7:45Speaker 3: clean yourself and to get rid of any kind of funk.
- 7:48Speaker 3: And so my son thought it was very funny and
- 7:52Speaker 3: he has been using it, and I dare say the
- 7:54Speaker 3: scent is much better now and he's been following the
- 7:57Speaker 3: instruction and following the step by.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Step, very very clear, easy too easy to follow and
- 8:02Speaker 2: strugg that's great.
- 8:04Speaker 3: No, it's just so it's crazy. As a parent, you know,
- 8:07Speaker 3: when your kid gets to that age where they're turning
- 8:09Speaker 3: into young men or young women, it's it's just very
- 8:13Speaker 3: odd because mentally he's still a little boy.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I can hear my mom saying to you right now, Chili,
- 8:20Speaker 2: be thankful you have one, because she had four am
- 8:25Speaker 2: all within two years of each other. And the bonus,
- 8:28Speaker 2: the last ones were twins, so that was double the funk.
- 8:32Speaker 2: You know what I mean? You know what, We used
- 8:36Speaker 2: my dad's speedstick from men and we thought we were
- 8:39Speaker 2: so cool.
- 8:39Speaker 3: And this smells a lot better than ax. So the
- 8:42Speaker 3: one that he's using, so it called again it's the
- 8:45Speaker 3: JB scrub.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That's JB scrub. That's right. Go to Amazon now and
- 8:51Speaker 2: have it shipped prime, especially if you have some prime
- 8:54Speaker 2: funk coming from your pre teen or teenagers. Funny, all right, Well,
- 8:59Speaker 2: well I have to continue to follow his smell or
- 9:03Speaker 2: lack thereof progress. Toby and Chilly in the morning, it
- 9:06Speaker 2: is ninety seven point one wash CHEFM, hang out, the

- 12:22Speaker 3: Well, and here's the thing. I know that a lot
- 12:24Speaker 3: of people will scroll and read while they're sitting. Yes,
- 12:29Speaker 3: and maybe that's where my personal level of comfort ends.
- 12:32Speaker 3: I cannot have conversations when I'm actually sitting. That's beyond
- 12:37Speaker 3: my comfort zone. Are you somebody who will either continue
- 12:40Speaker 3: a conversation or start a conversation while you're sitting?

- 12:47Speaker 2: when she calls while I'm otherwise indisposed, And that's it.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And the reason why is because one of the only
- 12:53Speaker 2: times she calls me, I can tell you, is when
- 12:56Speaker 2: she is using said commode.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Really, so she's that comfortable calling you? Yes, the water closet.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yes, I'm like, Wow, Really, did you or.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Make you feel weird knowing that she's doing her business?
- 13:10Speaker 3: Or or are you cool with it?
- 13:12Speaker 2: It's still back there lingering in the back of my
- 13:14Speaker 2: mind and quasi bugging me. But I'm cool with it
- 13:17Speaker 2: because they're far greater things for me to be unsettled
- 13:22Speaker 2: about it as it were.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Wow. Well, we've definitely gotten to a point in our
- 13:25Speaker 3: society where we don't think this is a big deal. Yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 3: I am, what is going on? Yeah?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Thoughts? Are you one of those people one of those
