Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to OnlyFin's Q&A Life, a question and answer show exclusive to OnlyFin.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Miami Dawkins Discord server.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Now here's your host, Alf.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: And we're on This is OnlyFin's Q&A Life.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: the only show that if you want to participate in live you want to ask questions live and listen to it live you got to become a member of our discord and to do that you got to go to discord dot gg forward slash only fins and become a member there all access for four ninety nine a month if you just want to do the read only it's two ninety nine a month but we recommend if you want to interact with over two thousand referral fans
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say like-minded fans because they really aren't.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: But if you want to, if you want to interact with other dolphin fans, you want to do the All-Axis, and that's four, ninety-nine.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: A month.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get to this.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: I turned on, like, where at that time of the year, it's July eighth.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing's really happening.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're waiting for the dolphins to sign a cornerback.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then once they sound a corner back, we'll have a little bit more to do, a little bit more information.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: We could begin to form our opinion on what this roster can be, can't be what they might look like, how many games they can possibly win, et cetera, et cetera.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: But what I did is I turned on good morning football this morning.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, by mistake.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, the quality that I show has deteriorated significantly since Peter Schreger left and even more so since K Adams left.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: And look, they've had some replacements and
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the presenters have really, they haven't been terrible, okay?
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: They've had some good, you know, former athletes, guys that are trying to break into the media business, and they've done a fine job.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: My entire tail has been on that show very often.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's okay, okay?
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: And what the hell's the name of this guy?
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: The angry runs guy, a Kyle Calbrant.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, he's fine.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people don't like him because he's a buffalo Homer.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's he's kind of entertaining sometimes.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: But today they had Willie Colone on.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're not familiar with Willie Colone, uh, former jet player, former stealer, if you're not familiar with his work.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's been on that show with Craig Carton on Fox.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like a hopeless jet homer.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: But one thing he's really known for is, we know about Chris Canti.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Canti despises Tutanko Baloa.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: We know that, right?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Florio just has disdain for Tutanko Baloa.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: And kind of disdain for for the entire organization if you think about it.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Although he keeps repeating that he likes Mike McDaniel, but then two minutes later he rips him.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Usually when everybody says, look, well, I'll do respect.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's about to disrespect you.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: And usually when people say, you know what, I kind of like this guy, but whenever they do that, they actually don't like that guy.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: They actually despise that guy.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: But if your familiarity with Willy Colone's work, he's a special kind of hater.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Because Chris can't these just dismissive.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: And that's fine.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like you don't think he's as good as other guys.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: You could be a complete total jackass like Chris Sims is about it where he just like he puts the finger on on the scale of two a tongue of our lower.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: Unlike he does and he doesn't for everybody else.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like he doesn't.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't judge two a tongue of our lower the way he judges just in Herbert.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: And there's no reason for Justin Herbert to get the benefit of the doubt over to a tongue-valua, to a tongue-valua has been better than Justin Herbert for the last three seasons, has won more than Justin Herbert the last three seasons.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, the last five seasons, he's won more than then, then, then, then, Herbert.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, then Justin Herbert.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so there's really no reason to give the benefit of the doubt to Justin Herbert over to a tongue-aballow, but Christians does all the time, but all these guys are easily explainable.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but Willy Cologne is a special, special case.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's kind of been known to just flat out, make shit up on the spot.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know where he's getting his information because he's either just completely pulling it out of his ass and making it up on the fly just because it might sound good or he's reading it somewhere online, not researching it at all, and then just taking it as his own.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: This morning he said that Tua had never won or had never beaten the team with ten wins before in his career.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's actually beaten seven.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll call on one on to say he's all in five against teams that won ten games or more.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: At the top of Matt, I knew that's false because the cowboys and the cowboys had twelve wins, right?
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: And some would say, oh, I wonder, but it's at the time of them playing.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Now that's wrong, too, because he's done that twice.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Beat the patch with ten wins.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: He beat the cowboys with twelve wins.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: And there's one more in there, mixed in there somewhere.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: But in real, like if you break it down to us beating seven teams with ten or more wins in his career, okay?
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: So, how does this get on the air?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: And it doesn't get challenged at all, okay?
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And this is, and if I'll not work, this is a good morning football, like they have the best producers.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, because they have access to all the stats, and that's obviously something that was not fed to them by a producer.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's something that Willie Cologne just came to the show with, because they knew that we're going to talk dolphins today.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: and boy did they talked offence.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was the same regular crap that you always hear, okay?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they need leadership, they have this guy, they have the other guy.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Will Klon also said that Bradley Chub is gone.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's news to Bradley Chub because I'm pretty certain he's out there and he's going to be out to for training camp, okay?
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: So what I wonder is this and this is not an isolated incident.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: This is something that just happened today.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder this.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: What is the best at interest this entire offseason on making up stats?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: All offseason, about two-tung of a hello.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't understand what's actually happening here.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's been all offseason.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: One fake stat after another.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think I've debunked like about six or seven this offseason.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: And you can just check, you know, check my work on Twitter.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Every once in a while somebody just post something and I'm like, where the hell did you get that one from?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: And usually it's from the same places.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's from people just flat out making stuff up.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: on Twitter and then other people repeating it without even checking it.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: The other favorite of mine was the one that's saying that the dolphins were all one eleven when hitting the drum for the Panthers.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: Never mind that the Panthers never lose fucking eleven games in one one postseason.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: If they did there would have been eliminated.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's simple math people.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but not turns out the dolphins were actually six and three.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: They were not all in eleven.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: So where is this vested interest in shit talking this team just spreading negative propaganda that's completely made up all off season about this team?
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: What is this?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: What is going on?
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: How toxic toxic has this fan base become?
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Where this is acceptable behavior?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't like to participate in it at all.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: And so we honestly, that's why we created a place like like only friends.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you want to become a member discord.gg for slash only friends and avoid all these clowns on Twitter.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: Damn it's not in the corner back yet, but a 선택 Samuel senior shirt, you know, took to the airwaves to lay waste to the Miami Dolphins.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: We know information whatsoever.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is just his perception.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he started the whole rant in a very odd place saying that Miami did it have to trade jail in Ramsay.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: So what are you gonna do?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Just what a gun do is head and say, you're gonna play, you know, either your brains or your feet are gonna be on this field today.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: What is that?
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Is that how you're going to handle Jalen Ramsey?
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: No, the guy wasn't gonna play.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: He said he wasn't gonna play this year.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: And guys like that have leverage.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Guys that make a lot of money.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: And can essentially just put a twenty five or twenty six million dollar hole in your payroll in one season.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Have a lot of leverage.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So Miami had to get rid of him.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they did fabulous work in getting rid of him and getting Mink of Fitzpatrick back in that trade.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now did it cost you John Smith?
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but he was another guy who wasn't gonna play.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted a new contract.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, now he is a guy that I could, I could, I could, I could justify strong arming him, but how deep was he prepared to go?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he was just a, he's a free agent at the end of the season.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: How deep was he prepared to go?
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Was he prepared to sit out games?
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: Was he prepared to not play this season?
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: Was he prepared to, for lack of a better phrase, fake an injury?
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's in his character, but the dolphins determine look.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to play on the four million dollars.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: He wants twelve million dollars.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to make that work from, and we're going to get ourselves a fifth rompec, and we're going to end all of these distractions.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you look at what they acquired, make a Fitzpatrick, you can almost see it coming, like next off season is going to be an issue.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're going to want new money.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: And if he has a big year this year, he's probably going to be worth that money because you want to try to justify your return in this trade, right?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: And he's only going to be twenty nine, let's see his end.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's a guy you want to keep into the in the fold.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: The bad news is, yeah, that's going to dig into your payroll.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: They otherwise would have not tabbed for anybody this coming off of season, but the good news is he's twenty nine years old.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: He would fit within that window that you want to create for your next incarnation of your team.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that's the good news.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: More bad news coming next off season.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: I would say XC was gonna want new money.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a little bit older.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Miami might have a few defensive tackles in the fold that they might want to see more of.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they strong arms Acceler.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they trade the Acceler at seasons end.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: We shall see.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: We do know that there's a pretty big decision coming with Tyrico more likely than not he will be cut.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: A trade for peanuts because he's going to have very little value.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Even if he has a big year this year, he's going to have very, very little value, but due to his his age and how much money he's going to be making in the coming season.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to go to break and when we come back, we will field some of your questions that you have in the chat.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: But first, these words.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and we are back.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to take some of these questions that we have in the chat.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: Again, if you want to participate in this show, you got to go to discord.gg.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Become a member of our discord.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Go to discord.gg forward slash only fins.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you've become a member there for four, ninety nine.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: A month, I'll access.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm getting an alert here, and it's the Allstar Ballet for Major League Baseball.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: One soldier did not make it.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Guy hits twenty one home runs has a nine hundred OPS, but if it ain't that good enough to be an Allstar.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, let's get to some of these questions in the chat.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Other than signing Russell Douglas, I think that would be a welcome site this week.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: What other move could the dolphins make to put them over the top?
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Well, put them over the top meaning that will be kind of relaxed a little bit about what they have on the roster.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's very, very obvious.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that there's a guard or tackle.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: Has Daniel Brunswick a Brunskill sign anywhere if he hasn't that's the guy I would sign like immediately if not sooner to be a backup all across the offensive line.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: He could play anywhere around along the offensive line, but I would watch those cuts toward the end of August because there's going to be a pricey offensive lineman or two and I would believe that it would be a tackle more than a guard.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: there's going to be an offensive lineman somewhere that is probably perceived to be a little bit overpaid for what their role is going to be he might be some planted by a rookie to be a swing tackle somewhere and or he could be a guy that might have taken an injury early in training camp and now he's been replaced in the lineup and they're happy with what they have and they want to save a couple of dollars and he might get cut
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where the dolphins should be striking to find a backup tackle.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't trust Larry Borham to be that.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like Larry Borham to be tried at a guard, because I believe he can move people.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: But as a swing tackle, I've seen this work as a tackle.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't like it.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think he's very good at it.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I would wait for those cuts to come around and there might be a surprise cut somewhere that could really help Miami on the offensive line.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: Other than that, I would just sign Daniel Brunskill.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the hell he's doing these days.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he's on another team or not.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, uh, next question.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: Can cater co.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: Play outside.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen him and thoughts?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he can play outside depends on on the coverage.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: Is he a match press man guy?
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: Can he play some cover three?
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Can he play in quarters?
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there is some evidence to suggest however in twenty twenty three and look this is you know this is a while back you know he was a rookie so it's different There is some evidence to suggest that he had some issues with the rules of cover six and some other more intricate coverage is that Vick Fangio was calling in twenty twenty three you could almost see him on film like
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: Not necessarily freelancing, but being in the wrong place at the wrong time, not keeping the shape of their coverage, and that was really stressing other players on the inside, or even on the outside, in some cases, when they were traveling, or they were in matchman, like General Ramsay for one.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: It was very, very evident against the Titans.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: The Titans had complete and utter breakdowns in the secondary.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Is that something that he can do?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's improved in that regard.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he even proved vastly.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: He was vastly improved in that regard last year.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, I think he can play outside.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's kind of limited.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's the weird thing about Kettico.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like him in a lot of these coverages that they will likely play to hide what they have on the outside on the boundary.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: yet they have some talent namely Jason Marshall campsmith who are really really good in press man and have had issues before playing zone.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: So they have guys that could do either or they just don't have that one guy that can do it all, right?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: So right now they have a bunch of specialists.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have guys that you can trust in pretty much every coverage.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where I would go with that.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, how good do you think this running back room could be?
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: Really good.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: I like the Von H and I always been a big fan of the Von H and a year before.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I got enough opportunities this past season.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Look, if you remember our draft coverage on three yards of security, I had him in my running back one.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: He was my top running back coming up out of Tennessee.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, why would I change my my evaluation over one year where he just didn't have the opportunities?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I really like that top two.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a fan of Alexander Madison.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to fill a specialist role.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: And Ali Gordon is one that's really, really interesting because
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: a year earlier, not only was he a high school candidate, but he would have been, I think, a top one hundred pick rather, you know, would know, no fuss.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he was very, very likely to be a top one hundred pick.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: a year later, he gets less opportunities to have as good of a year and he's taken later on in the draft.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm interested to see how he plays in this system.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be pretty, pretty dang good.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, who do you think will be the most surprising rookie in a positive way?
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's too easy to say, Kenneth Grant, right?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: I would say Jason Marshall, the cornerback.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be really good in press man.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to look good in preseason.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: Especially as they play very very simple coverages.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: So you just gotta be careful to not take the cheese and not sell yourself completely on some of these guys because they might look very very well and very very they might look very good in very very simple coverages.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, you know, when the bullets become live and they're playing the Indianapolis coats and then the the Patriots and then the bills a week later a week after that and they might have to be digging into their bag a little bit deeper and playing a lot more coverages.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's where the war's going to show up, right?
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I would say surprising rookie in a positive way.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jason Marshall is going to look good in preseason.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you're going to see that he's a guy that you can play in press man and he's going to show some press man chops that's going to make you kind of optimistic about the room other than whoever veteran that they sign.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: most surprising rookie in a negative way and then the same for veterans okay surprising rookie in a negative way I kind of like this entire this entire draft class so I don't think that there's one really that that I would describe in a negative way
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: I will say this.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: There's one guy in particular, Dante Trader, who's gotten a lot of press.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: If you're doing the math, make a Fitzpatrick, Ashton Davis, Ashton Davis is going to have a very defined role in this defense.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: If my fun is healthy, you still have Elijah Campbell.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how the hell he's going to play.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: And you still have Patrick McMores.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say that he would be the most surprising and a negative way because I think it's a numbers game for Dante Trader.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I don't know if he'll make the team.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: Same for veterans, surprising and a negative way for the vets.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Benito, I'll go Benito Jones because I think he'll be supplanted in the lineup by Jordan Phillips.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy who, look, he's going to have a very simple job and he can do what Benito does and he's a little bit more athletic.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: So Benito had a fifteen snap-a-game job to begin with.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think that those snaps could be eaten away by Kenneth Grant and Jordan Phillips and you know Zack's here's gonna be on the field of fun.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I would say Benito as the veteran who is the most surprising in a negative way.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, next question with Minka, can you see him agreeing to play closer to the line of scrimmage?
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I think that's how he's going to be effective.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's how he's going to be most he's going to be best used close to the line of scrimmage as a hook defender as playing the flat playing the slant
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: playing curls so you want him to be the curl flat safety and the hook safety you don't want him to be your deep third safety for two reasons I think he's wasted in the deep third and second of all I don't think he's very good at it
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: At least not anymore.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he was when he first got to Pittsburgh.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: But he's not anymore.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's best used close to the line of scrimmage that'll make him really, really effective against tight ends.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: And Miami gets to face a few tight ends in the AFC.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty much all in the AFC if you think about it.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be important.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I'd like to see him close to the line of the screen, but he can still tackle.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something that will benefit them greatly going forward.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I do expect Nick if it's Patrick to play closer to the line of the screen.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take a couple more questions.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, going to a eleven personnel, who do you think our biggest change pivot will be on offense?
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: And what do you think we've done season two?
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've been season two is going to have a little bit more of what his philosophies are going to be like you're going to see it a little bit more clearly defined because he's going to have now two years of molding the personnel to his liking.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to get to see exactly what his philosophy really is and what he plans to do with was as far as coverage is and his pressure packages.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: Especially since he's getting Bradley Chub in jail of Philos back, right?
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: So he's going to have a full compliment on the front seven, a full compliment on the edge.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: His safety room has now all of a sudden look pretty good.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to see a lot of three safety stuff.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, his only hole really on defense is going to be the corner back room.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: You can hide that somewhat with certain coverages.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: So, we shall see.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very interested to see what Anthony Weaver does in season two.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: On offense, other than the eleven personnel, the biggest change pivot, I think that the tight end will be largely phased out.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I understand that they sign, well, they traded for Darren Waller.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think Darren Waller is going to be more of a red zone specialist.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: Third down specialist is snaps mighty and be reduced to just that.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: right and I think he's gonna end up competing for what's going to be why receiver three snaps slot snaps so you know
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think that what he's going to be doing is more likely than not competing with Nick Westbrook Akine for those snaps and playing in those alignments.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I would say as far as unoffens what you can expect.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: all right one more question one room with the edge room and rush safety is more critical than corner back now and make up for jinn was a big win yeah agree i guess that's more of a statement than a question so yeah i would agree with that
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: All right guys tomorrow is the last episode for the season of the off season with myself a married brave.
