- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, it's Phil here, and it's time for another Radio
- 0:03Speaker 1: Archive Hour. On our daily presentation, we do three Radio
- 0:07Speaker 1: Archive Hours a day. One is featured as our main
- 0:10Speaker 1: featured hour, and you can find that on a player
- 0:13Speaker 1: on our homepage at philhenryshow.com, as well as with iHeart Podcast.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We also have two watchers that appear at Spotify, iHeart
- 0:21Speaker 1: as well, Apple, and other spots, and you can check
- 0:24Speaker 1: those out.
- 0:25Speaker 2: This is one of those two. This is R.C. Collins,
- 0:27Speaker 2: the legendary R.C. Collins.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And this is from the month of May, 2001.
- 0:33Speaker 3: R.C.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Is talking to us about just saying no to sex
- 0:38Speaker 1: is no good. Back in the day, they were saying
- 0:39Speaker 1: to teens, just say no to sex, just say.
- 0:41Speaker 2: No to drugs.
- 0:42Speaker 1: He says, as he puts it, full of it, because teens'
- 0:46Speaker 1: hormones will force them to have sex with animals if
- 0:49Speaker 1: you don't allow them to have normal sex.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's all yours.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Go ahead, just Have fun with it. R.C. Collins. Okay, R.C.
- 1:01Speaker 1: 's a junior at Chatsworth High, and welcome to Teen View, R.C.
- 1:06Speaker 1: All right, so the study that we see here is
- 1:12Speaker 1: that teens are weary of.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Do I have to scream over this?
- 1:16Speaker 4: Just.
- 1:17Speaker 1: The teens are weary about mixed messages about sex, and
- 1:21Speaker 1: we want to talk about that because they say it's
- 1:23Speaker 1: hypocritical for a culture to tell them to not have sex...
- 1:26Speaker 1: and yet there's all kinds of songs and there's all
- 1:29Speaker 1: kinds of imagery, advertising, in other words, that encourages sexuality
- 1:35Speaker 1: in the culture, correct?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Well, Phil, I agree with you. I think it's hypocritical
- 1:39Speaker 3: of the older generation. They go and have sex, and
- 1:43Speaker 3: most kids don't. They tell us just say no to sex,
- 1:47Speaker 3: but they make records about sex. Right now there's a
- 1:51Speaker 3: song out. about this dude and this chick, they have
- 1:55Speaker 3: sex on a bathroom floor, and you're telling me not
- 1:58Speaker 3: to have any? It's that kind of a mixed message
- 2:02Speaker 3: which is leading to increasing pressure on young people on
- 2:05Speaker 3: account of it. If you can't have sex, then the
- 2:09Speaker 3: pressure builds up and builds up until you do abnormal sex.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Okay, now, question, and I want to follow up at
- 2:16Speaker 1: what you mean by abnormal sex. Have you been abstinent?
- 2:19Speaker 3: No, Mr. Henry, I've... I have had sex, unlike most
- 2:24Speaker 3: kids my age.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Well, the statistic says that 49% of high schoolers have
- 2:31Speaker 1: had sex.
- 2:32Speaker 3: That's correct, but that's a little misleading. I've gone all
- 2:36Speaker 3: the way with a girl. I'm not proud of that,
- 2:39Speaker 3: but that means that I'm part of probably only about 15%
- 2:42Speaker 3: of kids... who are in the high school thing, grade,
- 2:48Speaker 3: that have had sex.
- 2:49Speaker 2: All right, you said that.
- 2:52Speaker 1: If kids don't have sex, the pressure builds up until
- 2:56Speaker 1: you have abnormal sex.
- 2:57Speaker 2: What do you call abnormal?
- 2:58Speaker 3: Well, like what causes abnormal sex when you don't let
- 3:02Speaker 3: the younger generation have it like you did?
- 3:07Speaker 2: But what is abnormal sex?
- 3:09Speaker 3: There are a lot of abnormal positions. One of my
- 3:15Speaker 3: sex ed teachers said it's abnormal to do it when
- 3:18Speaker 3: she's not facing you, like when the girl dresses in
- 3:22Speaker 3: slut-style sex wear or the introduction of inanimate objects.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And you're saying that you have had sex?
- 3:31Speaker 4: I am.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I have, yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 2: What about other kids? Let's talk about that.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Well, as I said, Phil, I'm one of the few
- 3:37Speaker 3: in my age group who have had had sex because
- 3:40Speaker 3: kids today have been scared into saying no to sex.
- 3:45Speaker 3: and people scaring them into thinking they'll get a rash
- 3:48Speaker 3: or something worse. I want all kids my age to know,
- 3:52Speaker 3: and it's one of the reasons why I'm on your program,
- 3:56Speaker 3: I have had sex with a girl, and it's good.
- 3:59Speaker 3: And I didn't get a rash or any kind of
- 4:02Speaker 3: a drip.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Okay, let's stop right there and sort of back it up, okay?
- 4:11Speaker 1: When you say you've had sex with a girl and
- 4:13Speaker 1: you didn't get any kind of a rash or any drip, okay?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 1: You're talking about sexually transmitted disease. You're talking about venereal disease, correct?
- 4:23Speaker 3: That is correct. I'm talking about syphilis and gonorrhea and HIV.
- 4:30Speaker 3: But if you wear a condom, then you won't get it.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Okay, a condom is a very smart thing, but what
- 4:38Speaker 2: about pregnancy?
- 4:38Speaker 3: Also, if you wear a condom... That's what I'm trying
- 4:41Speaker 3: to tell kids, that it keeps it from happening.
- 4:44Speaker 2: That it keeps what from happening?
- 4:46Speaker 3: The condom will keep babies from being made.
- 4:49Speaker 2: A condom?
- 4:51Speaker 3: The condom.
- 4:52Speaker 2: The condom! Are you there?
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean, you yelled.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I didn't mean to yell, but I'm trying to get
- 5:00Speaker 1: the information straight here, okay? Condoms will prevent pregnancy. Condoms
- 5:05Speaker 1: will prevent sexually transmitted... Is that your statement?
- 5:10Speaker 3: That is my statement to other kids that I'm speaking
- 5:13Speaker 3: to now, yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And you say that you are one of only 15%
- 5:17Speaker 1: who have actually had, as you say, sex all the way.
- 5:20Speaker 3: That I went all the way with a girl, yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Now, why have adults lied to you?
- 5:25Speaker 1: You say that this generation has created this atmosphere of
- 5:31Speaker 1: just saying no and at the same time.
- 5:33Speaker 2: By the way, the number on the Phil Henry Show
- 5:34Speaker 2: is 1-800-449-8686. We're talking to R.C.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Collins, who claims to be one of the few in
- 5:42Speaker 1: the high school age group to have had sex. That
- 5:47Speaker 1: kids today have been given mixed messages, and most of
- 5:50Speaker 1: them are saying no.
- 5:51Speaker 2: To it, correct?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, on account of that they were afraid of getting
- 5:54Speaker 3: the drip or venereal disease.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You can just kind of can it with the drip thing, okay?
- 5:59Speaker 3: Well, that's what my older brother.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's fine. Okay, so why do you feel you've been
- 6:04Speaker 2: lied to?
- 6:05Speaker 3: I feel your generation got to have all the sex
- 6:08Speaker 3: and you want to keep it to yourselves and not
- 6:10Speaker 3: share it or let kids of today have some of
- 6:12Speaker 3: the sex fun. The baby bombers are the ones what
- 6:15Speaker 3: got all the sex and not let the next generation
- 6:19Speaker 3: have none.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Well, what can happen if a kid doesn't have sex?
- 6:22Speaker 1: You said that it's abnormal, that pressures.
- 6:26Speaker 3: The hormones build up, Mr. Henry, to a dangerous level
- 6:30Speaker 3: to the point where you will go.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I mean, I've heard about kids who go over the
- 6:35Speaker 3: fence in their backyard and get a dog and have
- 6:38Speaker 3: sex with that. Plus, if you don't have sex with it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You're saying that if the average high schooler is not
- 6:45Speaker 1: allowed normal sexual relations.
- 6:46Speaker 2: They'll go after a dog?
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 2: A neighborhood dog?
- 6:52Speaker 3: In one instance.
- 6:53Speaker 1: There's a news story out there. Some kid went over
- 6:55Speaker 1: his fence and went after a neighborhood dog.
- 6:57Speaker 3: One of the neighbor's dogs. Yes, sir.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I also believe, and I think this is backed up
- 7:04Speaker 3: with medical evidence, if you don't have sex while you're
- 7:07Speaker 3: a teen, you become totally unprepared for the college experience.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Everybody in the college experience has sex, and they're all
- 7:15Speaker 3: getting their groove on.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Let's get back to attacking this dog. You say that.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Look, what I'm saying, Phil, is teens need to have
- 7:24Speaker 3: sex because of the chemicals in their bodies. If a
- 7:27Speaker 3: teen don't have sex, then he tries to get rid
- 7:30Speaker 3: of the hormones by either driving a car fast or
- 7:34Speaker 3: having sex with a creature that's not human, like a
- 7:38Speaker 3: turtle or a dog. And a lot of people.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Okay, hold on for a minute. All right, this kid
- 7:45Speaker 1: is a little... I understand he's a little nervous.
- 7:49Speaker 2: R.C. Collins, 1-800-449-8686. He is decrying the hypocrisy.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Of today telling kids just say no to sex at
- 7:56Speaker 1: the same time all the images and i don't blame
- 7:59Speaker 1: i don't blame people for saying that it's hypocritical you
- 8:01Speaker 1: can't tell people the one hand don't have sex the
- 8:03Speaker 1: other hand have all this uh... the sexual imagery whether
- 8:06Speaker 1: it be mtv sex videos this that the other thing
- 8:09Speaker 1: okay what i uh... and he also claims to be
- 8:12Speaker 1: one of the few kids to actually have had sex
- 8:15Speaker 1: do you feel like you have a message then back
- 8:17Speaker 1: rc do you feel like you have.
- 8:18Speaker 3: A message you know i can tell kids Because most
- 8:21Speaker 3: kids have not had gone to third base or home
- 8:26Speaker 3: that I can tell them it's good. It feels good.
- 8:28Speaker 2: But there's more to it than feeling good.
- 8:30Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Phil Henry Show. And now, Phil Henry.
- 8:32Speaker 5: 1-800-449-8686.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Welcome back to Teen View.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It's the portion of our program that helps you, the parent,
- 8:52Speaker 1: understand how our kids are thinking and feeling. R.C.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Collins has joined us.
- 8:57Speaker 6: R.C.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Is a junior. And R.C., how old are you? I
- 9:01Speaker 2: just turned 17. 17 years old.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And we're talking about a story here from one of
- 9:08Speaker 1: the major news services. Take a look at some of
- 9:09Speaker 1: the spicy fiction novels aimed at readers as young as 12.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Tune into any number of TV shows popular with young
- 9:15Speaker 1: viewers and try finding the characters who haven't had sex.
- 9:20Speaker 3: That's my point exactly.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Okay, they're mentioning the thong song or the recent number one,
- 9:25Speaker 1: It Wasn't Me, a tune about a couple getting caught, quote,
- 9:29Speaker 1: banging on the bathroom floor, end quote. Many elementary school
- 9:33Speaker 1: students have, according to the story, officially from President Bush
- 9:36Speaker 1: on down, young people are being told to say no
- 9:39Speaker 1: to sex, yet they're bombarded with the images.
- 9:43Speaker 3: That's the truth, Mr. Hendry, and I think the reason
- 9:46Speaker 3: why we do get bombarded with these messages... is because
- 9:50Speaker 3: the baby bombers who are now the people that control
- 9:54Speaker 3: the advertising agencies took a lot of drugs.
- 9:59Speaker 2: All right, first of all, they're baby boomers. They're not
- 10:02Speaker 2: baby bombers.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Well, what difference does it make?
- 10:05Speaker 1: It doesn't make a lot of difference, but I, you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: just for the sake of our baby boomers.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And what do you mean they took a lot of drugs?
- 10:12Speaker 3: Are you denying it? I, the baby boomers... Are you
- 10:16Speaker 3: denying that the baby boomers took a lot of drugs?
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yes or no?
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'm not denying that, no.
- 10:24Speaker 3: All right. The point I'm trying to make is, for
- 10:27Speaker 3: teens like me, we get the mixed message from the
- 10:31Speaker 3: baby boomers because they took drugs and now they run
- 10:36Speaker 3: the advertising agencies.
- 10:38Speaker 2: So, in other words.
- 10:39Speaker 3: They're too confused to tell us what we're supposed to
- 10:43Speaker 3: know that's right.
- 10:45Speaker 1: All right, so because this generation took too many drugs,
- 10:48Speaker 1: the advertising that we're... You've got to be putting me on, man.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Some of the most brilliant advertising that's ever been conceived
- 10:52Speaker 1: has been conceived by this generation. The mixed messages that
- 10:56Speaker 1: you guys are getting aren't necessarily from baby boomers, or
- 11:00Speaker 1: baby bombers, as you call them.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Well, then who's it from? Your generation's the one that
- 11:04Speaker 3: owns the ad agencies, and you're the guys who took
- 11:07Speaker 3: the drugs, and now you say we should have sex?
- 11:10Speaker 3: But no, you better not. Confused thinking, my man, if
- 11:13Speaker 3: you ask me.
- 11:14Speaker 2: All right. You know, there's an insolence to you, man.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Well, I'm sorry, but we're trying to get a message across.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Since I've had sex and other kids haven't, then it
- 11:25Speaker 3: feels good.
- 11:26Speaker 2: No kidding, man. I got that.
- 11:28Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Jeff?
- 11:29Speaker 2: Hello, Jeff? Yes.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead, man.
- 11:37Speaker 6: I just like to ask the man that's on the
- 11:40Speaker 6: radio or kid that's on the radio, is just because
- 11:44Speaker 6: I'm not having sex, out and do it with the dog.
- 11:47Speaker 3: It's more normal.
- 11:48Speaker 2: All right, Jeff, do you have a radio turned up
- 11:50Speaker 2: or something, man?
- 11:51Speaker 3: No, I don't.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead. Say that again because you broke up.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Are you still there?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we're here. Just say it again because your car
- 11:58Speaker 2: phone crapped out a little bit. Go ahead.
- 12:00Speaker 3: What I'm at?
- 12:04Speaker 2: This guy in the car.
- 12:05Speaker 3: The kid's going to have sex with the dog.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Hey, Jeff, your car phone's breaking up. I'm going to
- 12:10Speaker 1: put you on hold, man, until you get to a
- 12:12Speaker 1: better cell, okay?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Can you hear me?
- 12:16Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Phyllis, you're on the Phil Henry Show.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Hello? Hello?
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yes, Phyllis, go ahead.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Oh, great.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 7: Hi.
- 12:23Speaker 5: I have a comment to R.C.
- 12:25Speaker 7: R.C.? Yes.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Hi. Hi.
- 12:29Speaker 5: You know, I've been listening to you, and I think
- 12:32Speaker 5: what you're saying in regards to the music that you've
- 12:36Speaker 5: been listening to and the mixed messages, I agree with
- 12:40Speaker 5: you on that, but I don't think that you realize
- 12:43Speaker 5: that there's two sides to everything. If you realize that
- 12:46Speaker 5: there's consequences to every action that you make.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Well, how come the baby boomers get to?
- 12:54Speaker 2: Well, let the lady, let her finish her point.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You didn't finish your point, Phyllis.
- 13:00Speaker 6: You know what?
- 13:01Speaker 5: They went through the same thing that you went through.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Everybody goes through this. the things and the thoughts that
- 13:07Speaker 5: you're thinking at your age.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Have you ever heard the thong song? That's a song
- 13:11Speaker 3: that's out right now.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I've heard it.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well, what's it about? It's about looking at girls'
- 13:18Speaker 3: bottoms and there's.
- 13:20Speaker 7: Nothing on them.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Well, you know what? That's just an artist. That's just
- 13:25Speaker 5: a song from somebody.
- 13:27Speaker 1: The mixed message, in other words, is coming from this
- 13:29Speaker 1: large monolith called society in general.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Well, who's in control of it?
- 13:35Speaker 6: You know what?
- 13:37Speaker 5: The media is in control of it, but you have
- 13:39Speaker 5: to be in control of yourself. And you know what?
- 13:43Speaker 5: When I first turned on the radio and I heard
- 13:44Speaker 5: that you were talking about condoms, that doesn't guarantee anything.
- 13:49Speaker 3: But you've got to use something. In other words, the
- 13:51Speaker 3: baby will be made.
- 13:52Speaker 5: You're absolutely right.
- 13:53Speaker 6: But you know what? There's abstinence.
- 13:55Speaker 5: And you know what? You have to be responsible enough
- 13:57Speaker 5: to realize that sex is sex, but there's always... consequences
- 14:03Speaker 5: for that are you going to be responsible just in
- 14:08Speaker 5: case if a girl that you're having sex with gets
- 14:11Speaker 5: pregnant you shouldn't even be having sex with someone unless
- 14:13Speaker 5: you plan on marrying them those are.
- 14:16Speaker 3: All good questions but I'll ask you this I'm 17
- 14:20Speaker 3: years old are you telling me I can't have the
- 14:22Speaker 3: sex because that's bad for.
- 14:25Speaker 6: Me It's not bad for you.
- 14:27Speaker 3: It's not bad for you at all. There's at least
- 14:30Speaker 3: two stories that broke last week about kids, neighborhood kids,
- 14:35Speaker 3: going after a dog, somebody's dog.
- 14:38Speaker 5: You know what? Why don't you pick up all the
- 14:41Speaker 5: other papers that you read and you'll find even worse
- 14:43Speaker 5: stories than that.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Right, picking up guns.
- 14:47Speaker 5: That doesn't mean anything.
- 14:49Speaker 3: The fear that I have, Phyllis, if I could interrupt,
- 14:52Speaker 3: the fear that I have is there's kids out there,
- 14:55Speaker 3: especially young men, who become so sexually frustrated, they go
- 15:02Speaker 3: after a possum or cats or anything instead of a girl. Well,
- 15:08Speaker 3: it may sound funny.
- 15:09Speaker 2: What do you mean they go after a possum?
- 15:12Speaker 7: Hey, you know what?
- 15:13Speaker 6: Hey, wait a second. Wait, R.C., R.C., think about it.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Your generation got to be sex, but we don't get to.
- 15:21Speaker 6: Oh, R.C.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Look it, man.
- 15:23Speaker 1: My generation, I'm sorry, Phyllis, I've got to say this.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I was just as frustrated as you, man. I didn't
- 15:28Speaker 1: have sex when I was in high school. And my
- 15:31Speaker 1: generation was the whole, you know, you could go down
- 15:33Speaker 1: to the free clinic and get morning after pills.
- 15:36Speaker 2: You could go down to the free clinic and.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Free clinic? That's bitchin'. Well.
- 15:40Speaker 2: They don't have them now, I know, but they had
- 15:42Speaker 2: them then.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Then a girl could go get birth control.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Why don't we have that? Well, I'm... Yeah, I don't.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Have an answer for that. Because we've got to go
- 15:53Speaker 6: and have it with a possum.
- 15:55Speaker 5: No, R.C., you wouldn't do that. You're saying you've got
- 15:58Speaker 5: to have a free clinic, and.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I've got to go and tool a possum on my
- 16:02Speaker 3: own time.
- 16:03Speaker 6: You know what?
- 16:04Speaker 7: You know what?
- 16:05Speaker 5: When you find somebody that.
- 16:08Speaker 7: You love, that you love, yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 5: Are you actually dating this person that you had sex with?
- 16:14Speaker 3: No, this was last year, and it was the only time,
- 16:17Speaker 3: but it's more times than most of the guys that
- 16:21Speaker 3: I know.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Well, you know what? You shouldn't be in competition because
- 16:24Speaker 5: most of the stories that you hear from these guys
- 16:26Speaker 5: or friends of yours are lying in the first place.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Guy goes out and tools a possum, then has to
- 16:30Speaker 3: get his biology homework done or whatever?
- 16:33Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Wait a second, man. We're talking about having sex with
- 16:38Speaker 2: an animal.
- 16:38Speaker 1: You've got bigger problems than whether you get your biology
- 16:40Speaker 1: report done.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 16:42Speaker 5: If somebody can't.
- 16:44Speaker 1: All right, listen, Phyllis, thank you very much for your
- 16:48Speaker 1: well-meaning call. R.C., I would hope that you would let
- 16:52Speaker 1: people finish what they're going to say, okay?
- 16:56Speaker 3: I appreciate that, Mr. Henry, but you've got to understand
- 16:58Speaker 3: that the hormones are bubbling up in every young person today.
- 17:03Speaker 3: And the booby bombers... Baby boomers, man, okay? You yelled.
- 17:08Speaker 2: All right, I'm sorry that I yelled. The baby... See,
- 17:14Speaker 2: I don't even know what it is. Baby boomers.
- 17:18Speaker 3: They had sex, and we don't get to have any.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Well, you can have it with a possum.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Oh, funny. Very funny.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Well, you're... You know.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It's hard for me to find fault with what you're
- 17:32Speaker 1: saying because I think you guys are getting mixed messages.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Here is Jean on the Phil Henry Show. Hello.
- 17:37Speaker 7: Yes, I just wanted to say to this young man, R.C.,
- 17:41Speaker 7: that the information that he is discussing, there is absolutely
- 17:45Speaker 7: no documentation to support anything that he says. He comes
- 17:51Speaker 7: across as a very sexually disturbed young man, and I
- 17:55Speaker 7: really fear for someone who has who has made the
- 17:59Speaker 7: kind of statements that he has, that this is going
- 18:02Speaker 7: to be someday a man who may force a woman
- 18:07Speaker 7: into doing something that she doesn't want to do.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Have you ever tried to put a skirt on a possum?
- 18:13Speaker 3: Have you ever sat alone at night looking at the
- 18:15Speaker 3: moon and feeling the sweat drip off the back of
- 18:17Speaker 3: your neck because somebody strayed dogs coming in your backyard?
- 18:21Speaker 7: Sir, you are a disturbed individual.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I think that the lady is making a point here, R.C.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Wait a second. I'm a young man and I know
- 18:28Speaker 3: other young teens. We see some sweet piece of stuff
- 18:31Speaker 3: going into a dance, wearing something tight, all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed.
- 18:38Speaker 3: What am I supposed to do?
- 18:41Speaker 7: Like I said, there are too many people who walk
- 18:44Speaker 7: around like you who wind up forcing themselves on some
- 18:48Speaker 7: woman because they believe that she's looking for it or whatever.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Wait a minute. You think I'll turn into that Ted
- 18:56Speaker 3: Bundy guy?
- 18:57Speaker 7: You need to get help. The first and foremost thing
- 19:00Speaker 7: is you need to seek some counseling because you are really,
- 19:04Speaker 7: your mind is really messed up.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Your generation should stop making songs about girls that don't
- 19:10Speaker 3: wear underwear. Yeah, didn't think about that, did you?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Okay, Gene, you know, Gene's not responsible. I'm not.
- 19:20Speaker 3: No, you guys don't want to take the heat. Well,
- 19:22Speaker 3: who do I go to to say quit making songs
- 19:24Speaker 3: about girls that wear butt floss?
- 19:27Speaker 2: Go to Cisco. How about that? Yeah. All right, thanks. 1-800-4...
- 19:32Speaker 2: I don't know. Write him a fan letter. The Phil
- 19:35Speaker 2: Hendry Show is back.
- 19:36Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 19:37Speaker 2: We're back on Teen View with Phil Hendry and R.C.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Collins Jr. at Chatsworth High. We're talking about the mixed message.
- 19:50Speaker 1: that teens receive today with regard to sex.
- 19:52Speaker 2: R.C.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Is a junior, a high school junior, and you've presented
- 19:56Speaker 1: some radical points of view. You blame the mixed message
- 19:59Speaker 1: on the baby boomer generation that controls the advertising. Our
- 20:02Speaker 1: generation had all the sex.
- 20:03Speaker 2: You guys are not allowed to. You've got a lot
- 20:06Speaker 2: of complaints. What are your solutions?
- 20:09Speaker 3: Resolutions are twofold. I believe that the legal age for
- 20:13Speaker 3: buying a magazine with naked girls in it should be 16.
- 20:19Speaker 3: And I think that Playboy magazine... I think that some
- 20:25Speaker 3: committee should talk to Playboy so that in the pictures
- 20:28Speaker 3: that Playboy has, they show more. Also, I think that
- 20:33Speaker 3: Penthouse is better. Number two... If you're not going to
- 20:39Speaker 3: let us buy pictures like that, then raise the speed
- 20:43Speaker 3: limit for 16-year-old boys to 85 miles an hour.
- 20:49Speaker 2: So what?
- 20:49Speaker 1: So you can get out your frustration speeding?
- 20:51Speaker 3: Something's got to give.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Something's got to give. All right, 1-800-449-8686.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Let's talk to Kathy on the Phil Henry Show.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Hello?
- 21:04Speaker 7: Yeah, hello.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Hi. How stupid are you, R.C.
- 21:08Speaker 6: What is wrong with you?
- 21:10Speaker 3: How stupid are you that your radio's turned up? You
- 21:12Speaker 3: know what?
- 21:12Speaker 6: I don't get these warped ideas. You know, it's only
- 21:14Speaker 6: a sick individual.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Your radio's turned up in the background.
- 21:16Speaker 6: It's only a sick individual that'll think they have to
- 21:18Speaker 6: get their frustrations out on an animal or driving. What
- 21:21Speaker 6: is wrong with you?
- 21:22Speaker 1: R.C., you said you had, and by the way, Kathy,
- 21:25Speaker 1: is your radio turned up in the background? Because I
- 21:26Speaker 1: can hear something.
- 21:28Speaker 6: No, I'm outside.
- 21:29Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:30Speaker 2: R.C., when you say you went all the way with
- 21:31Speaker 2: a girl.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Yes, I did.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Where was this?
- 21:34Speaker 3: Well, out of respect to the lady, it's on the phone.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I won't be graphic, but it was at a fraternity
- 21:40Speaker 3: party that I snuck into with a friend of mine.
- 21:43Speaker 3: And this young lady that I met sat on my lap,
- 21:46Speaker 3: and I got stiff and stuff.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:52Speaker 6: You're a liar. I've never even had sex.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Wait a minute, wait a minute. Did you have sex
- 21:56Speaker 2: with her?
- 21:56Speaker 3: I just said that I had sex.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Having her sit in your lap isn't having sex.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Well, get out of here.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I call it a girl sat on your lap. God
- 22:08Speaker 2: all stiffened.
- 22:09Speaker 3: What do you mean I'm a liar? You know what?
- 22:12Speaker 6: I bet you've never even had this. The only thing
- 22:14Speaker 6: you've had is with your hand.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I had a girl. You know what?
- 22:16Speaker 6: You need to get a life, okay?
- 22:18Speaker 7: Hey, how old are you?
- 22:19Speaker 6: How old are you? 22 years old. He's not no
- 22:22Speaker 6: baby boomer. So what is that?
- 22:23Speaker 3: Who? Cisco?
- 22:24Speaker 6: The people who are writing these songs to give you
- 22:26Speaker 6: the mixed messages?
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, but Cisco.
- 22:27Speaker 6: They're the same age as we are, a little bit older.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yeah, but Cisco got hired by some baby boomer manager. Oh,
- 22:33Speaker 3: but no.
- 22:34Speaker 6: He's the one that writes the songs. not the baby
- 22:36Speaker 6: boomers so what are you talking about how old are
- 22:38Speaker 6: you you've got to be the dumbest individual i've ever
- 22:40Speaker 6: heard of in my life okay what's your solution to
- 22:43Speaker 6: it you want to have you know what if you
- 22:45Speaker 6: don't like the music you don't agree with it don't
- 22:46Speaker 6: listen to it yeah but it's making me nothing.
- 22:50Speaker 3: So in other words i i you're gonna tell me
- 22:52Speaker 3: i gotta go do it with a possum.
- 22:55Speaker 6: No that's a sick individual that wants to get it
- 22:56Speaker 6: with a possum you are a sick person who needs
- 22:59Speaker 6: help What are you talking about, you sick weirdo?
- 23:12Speaker 3: Who has warped you? Warped me?
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:15Speaker 3: An entire generation of bobby boobies.
- 23:17Speaker 6: No, not an entire generation. Some individual has messed you up.
- 23:21Speaker 2: All right, let me ask Kathy since you're on the
- 23:22Speaker 2: line with me, Kathy.
- 23:24Speaker 1: What do you think about, on the one hand, saying
- 23:26Speaker 1: no to sex, and on the other hand, a song
- 23:27Speaker 1: like It Wasn't Me?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Does that blow your mind?
- 23:30Speaker 3: You know what?
- 23:31Speaker 6: Those songs are stupid and they're degrading to women. But
- 23:34Speaker 6: you know what? I don't listen to them. And anybody
- 23:36Speaker 6: who does listen to them is supporting them and saying
- 23:37Speaker 6: it's okay to have sex.
- 23:38Speaker 7: So that's them.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I think it's hypocritical not to at least tell kids
- 23:42Speaker 3: to wear the condoms. They don't get no drip.
- 23:45Speaker 6: Is Cisco saying not to have sex? Is Shaggy saying
- 23:48Speaker 6: no not to have sex? No, they're not. They're saying, okay,
- 23:50Speaker 6: let's go do it.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Shaggy's the boss.
- 23:52Speaker 6: It's the politics that are saying no not to have sex.
- 23:54Speaker 6: It's the parents that are saying no not to have sex.
- 23:56Speaker 6: And they're not saying, okay, no, never mind, let's go
- 23:58Speaker 6: out and have it.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Why don't you direct your anger, R.C., at Cisco and Shaggy?
- 24:02Speaker 3: No, no, those are my main men. What are you
- 24:05Speaker 3: talking about?
- 24:05Speaker 6: You're an idiot, and you're supporting it just as much.
- 24:07Speaker 3: They're my main men.
- 24:08Speaker 2: They're your main men.
- 24:10Speaker 6: You don't even know who they are.
- 24:11Speaker 3: You know what?
- 24:12Speaker 6: You hear the music. You don't know who they are.
- 24:13Speaker 6: You know what? I bet you they have their little
- 24:15Speaker 6: wife at their home, and you know what? They wouldn't
- 24:16Speaker 6: even think about saying that stuff to them.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know what? No, no, no.
- 24:20Speaker 6: You don't need to say nothing because you're an idiot.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, well, they probably had sex with a possum when
- 24:24Speaker 3: they were young, too. I'm done with Shaggy and Crisco.
- 24:27Speaker 2: What do you mean, Crisco? You said Crisco.
- 24:32Speaker 4: You can't even say the person's name.
- 24:34Speaker 6: You don't even know what a baby boomer is, I bet.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Huh?
- 24:39Speaker 6: I bet you don't even know who a baby boomer is.
- 24:40Speaker 6: What age were they born? I bet you don't even know.
- 24:42Speaker 6: You're an idiot. You don't even know how to say
- 24:44Speaker 6: the word. You say baby bombers. How idiot are you?
- 24:46Speaker 3: The baby boomer. I know what they are.
- 24:48Speaker 2: When were they born?
- 24:49Speaker 6: When were they born? What year?
- 24:50Speaker 3: In the 60s. You're an idiot.
- 24:52Speaker 1: It was the 50s.
- 24:54Speaker 3: In the what?
- 24:54Speaker 1: 50s.
- 24:56Speaker 3: You're stupid.
- 24:57Speaker 6: You need to get off the radio station because you're
- 24:59Speaker 6: making yourself sound stupid.
- 25:02Speaker 3: No guy that old could have taken drugs.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Well, guess what, pal? I was born in 52. Jesus.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Oh, thank you very much. Well, at least I'm not
- 25:11Speaker 1: chasing the neighbor's dog, okay, pal? All right, listen, Kathy, thank.
- 25:17Speaker 5: You.
- 25:17Speaker 3: I think that's a cold shot, Mr. Henry, and I
- 25:19Speaker 3: think you should apologize.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Wait a minute. You said guys are chasing the neighbor's dog.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I said it. I don't need to hear it back
- 25:26Speaker 3: from you. You don't have to play it back to me.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Aslan, you're on the Phil Henry Show.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Yes, I'd just like to let you know that teenagers today, honestly,
- 25:40Speaker 4: I have a lot of teenage friends, and I know
- 25:43Speaker 4: for a fact a lot of them feel that sex
- 25:47Speaker 4: isn't wrong. And I don't see where you get off,
- 25:51Speaker 4: you know, that girls wearing these tight shorts, you know,
- 25:55Speaker 4: and all this, that, and the other, that they're able to,
- 25:59Speaker 4: that you can freely have sex with them whenever you want.
- 26:02Speaker 6: I didn't say that.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I didn't say that. I'm just saying, Crisco did a
- 26:06Speaker 3: song about girls what don't wear underwear. And by the way,
- 26:09Speaker 3: can I ask you a question?
- 26:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Is that really your name, Aslan?
- 26:13Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Do you get embarrassed or anything?
- 26:17Speaker 1: Okay, you know what? Do you want to play games here?
- 26:19Speaker 1: Do you want to be an adult or do you
- 26:20Speaker 1: want to be a little boy?
- 26:21Speaker 3: Well, I just thought it was funny.
- 26:25Speaker 2: It's a nice name, Aslan.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Aslan.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Anyways, you know, I just would like to say to you,
- 26:31Speaker 4: you have a lot of problems. And a lot of
- 26:35Speaker 4: teenage guys your.
- 26:36Speaker 6: Age, yeah, they go out and they.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Do stuff like that. But you know what? When they
- 26:42Speaker 4: come later on in life, they realize that they've made
- 26:45Speaker 4: a lot of stupid mistakes.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Did you ever know a guy that would chase a
- 26:49Speaker 3: calf around a corral? Yeah.
- 26:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 4: I've known a couple of them.
- 26:53Speaker 3: That's what I'm talking about.
- 26:54Speaker 7: And that's sick.
- 26:55Speaker 4: It's honestly sick. When I was in high school, I
- 26:58Speaker 4: knew a lot of guys that did that.
- 26:59Speaker 5: See?
- 27:00Speaker 7: And you know what?
- 27:01Speaker 4: Now, today, they are in relationships now, and they've realized
- 27:06Speaker 4: that they fooled around and they made mistakes.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Wait a minute, wait.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You knew guys that chased cows around a barnyard, but
- 27:11Speaker 1: today they're in normal relationships?
- 27:14Speaker 3: See, Mr. Henry? See?
- 27:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I told you, see, Mr. Henry?
- 27:18Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 6: Wow.
- 27:21Speaker 4: I've known guys that have done that. And they were
- 27:24Speaker 4: very promiscuous. And they realized, you know, that they were
- 27:28Speaker 4: so immature. And it's peer pressure, honestly.
- 27:32Speaker 6: Ask her what part.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Of the country she's from.
- 27:34Speaker 2: What?
- 27:34Speaker 3: Ask her where she's from.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Where are you from, Aslan?
- 27:36Speaker 6: I'm from Lawrenceville.
- 27:38Speaker 2: In what state, dear?
- 27:40Speaker 3: Georgia.
- 27:41Speaker 6: See?
- 27:42Speaker 3: I told you.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Okay, be quiet. All right, listen.
- 27:46Speaker 7: I don't agree.
- 27:48Speaker 4: I don't agree with it.
- 27:49Speaker 3: They want to do cows. And they don't even care
- 27:52Speaker 3: about a girl not having underwear.
- 27:54Speaker 6: It doesn't matter.
- 27:55Speaker 7: It doesn't matter.
- 27:56Speaker 4: I personally think it's sick.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's mental. It's mentally deranged. It really is.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I hope they got into these relationships after they had
- 28:03Speaker 1: their counseling from the cow thing, you know.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Did they wear a condom?
- 28:09Speaker 2: It's called a condom, not a comden.
- 28:12Speaker 4: But you know something?
- 28:13Speaker 3: See?
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I see.
- 28:15Speaker 4: I don't think it's fair for you to blame... The
- 28:19Speaker 4: Bobby Boomers? The Bamey Boomers.
- 28:20Speaker 3: The Bamey Boomers, yeah.
- 28:22Speaker 4: It has nothing to do with them.
- 28:23Speaker 3: You know, that's my new nickname for them, the Bamey Boomers.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Listen to me, listen to me. Our society today has,
- 28:31Speaker 4: I mean.
- 28:32Speaker 3: You sound hot. I gotta tell you something, you sound
- 28:34Speaker 3: so hot. Honest to God. I mean, are you like
- 28:38Speaker 3: a little blonde?
- 28:40Speaker 6: No, I'm not.
- 28:41Speaker 3: You're sweet.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Do you... No. Have you ever heard Crisco?
- 28:48Speaker 7: Yes, I've heard.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Yes, I've heard of Crisco.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Have you ever used Crisco?
- 28:52Speaker 1: No.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Do you want to wear a combine when you... Do
- 28:56Speaker 3: they wear a combine when.
- 28:57Speaker 4: They do a count?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Yeah, okay.
- 28:59Speaker 7: You're sick.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 29:00Speaker 2: All right, Aslan, thank.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Say Aslan.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Aslan, thank you very much for joining our program. You're
- 29:05Speaker 2: out of here.
- 29:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Bye, Aslan.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Great.
