- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the Can coop where I have a group of very
- 0:32excited girls that they are having pasta with shredded
- 0:36zucchini and hot peppers in it because they love those.
- 0:40Anyway. This morning we are talking
- 0:43about getting past disappointment when you're faced
- 0:47with it because every day I don't care who you are.
- 0:51Myself included. There are things that disappoint
- 0:54you and these disappointments often can be huge.
- 0:57They can be little but they are. Detrimental, if you keep focused
- 1:03on them. And one of the really did most
- 1:07difficult things for a human to do is to let go of
- 1:10disappointment and say. Okay listen, this happened.
- 1:14And now, what am I going to do? What's the next step?
- 1:16What do I want to do? Now, do I want to dwell on this?
- 1:19Do I need to dwell on this is their benefit and dwelling on
- 1:22this or do I need to just move myself forward and you know this
- 1:26is a funny thing because the watch my chickens all the time
- 1:30As you know, and one of the things that's really funny is
- 1:33that when they catch something, if they find a creature that
- 1:37they want to eat and they discover it, they get super
- 1:42excited and they run and they take, they grab this little
- 1:45creature, whatever it might be. And they start running, but
- 1:47they're not in silence, they scream and of course all the
- 1:51other chickens here and so they start running after them.
- 1:53It's quite comedy show, it's quite a comedy show when you see
- 1:56it happening. But what happens when this
- 2:00ensues Often is that one of the girls that's dominant in the
- 2:03flock will run up front and grab it and take it away and you see
- 2:08the shock of the one that lost it and then it's gone.
- 2:12It's like okay I'm moving on and I love the fact that they can
- 2:16move on so quickly. Like they just don't care, they
- 2:19will attempt to do things. Fearlessly often, people think
- 2:23the chickens are like, you know, stupid and that they just don't
- 2:27have a thought process. So not true.
- 2:30Is a hierarchy in the flock always and there's a seating
- 2:34assignment apparently they have their own seating assignments.
- 2:37So inside when they go to roost, they will pick spots and those
- 2:41are for the front rows or for the dominant hens and then the
- 2:45others are open to going wherever they want.
- 2:48But you'll see every day, the hens that are less dominant will
- 2:51try that front row and they will see if they get kicked out.
- 2:55Now, will the dominant hens? Leave them there.
- 2:57Sometimes they do sometimes they're like, okay with it.
- 3:00They're like all right fine you've moved up here.
- 3:02You've tried it enough and it's just another example of how you
- 3:07deal with disappointment. It's like they let it go and
- 3:09they go right back to focusing on what they want, the front
- 3:12row, the treat whatever, or they even if the treats taken away
- 3:15and there's no chance of getting the treat.
- 3:17They just keep going. They don't care.
- 3:20They shake it off. They brush themselves on.
- 3:23They guts, right saline. You tell them.
- 3:25They brush it off, and they get right back to it, because
- 3:28there's no point in dwelling, It's already gone that moment
- 3:32that incident, it's already gone.
- 3:34So when you allow things to faster when you allow things to
- 3:38hang on and they follow you, they don't just affect you, they
- 3:43affect the other people around you.
- 3:45So let's say someone in your life, you, let's say you hurt
- 3:49someone's feelings and that person you've apologized.
- 3:54You've done everything the right way, but that person still won't
- 3:56let go of it. What do you do?
- 3:59You have to let Go of it. And you have to say, this is
- 4:02their Journey, this is their choice.
- 4:04You let go, you move on because if you've done the right things,
- 4:07as long as your heart tells you, you've done the right things,
- 4:10you move on. If you have a disappointment
- 4:12from something that took place, where you were working really
- 4:15hard, and let's say, you were trying to test for something,
- 4:19you were trying to test for something and you kept failing
- 4:21the test over and over and over again.
- 4:23And all of a sudden another opportunity is presented to you,
- 4:26but you're still focused on the failed test, you're never going
- 4:29to be able to move. Move forward with whatever that
- 4:32other opportunity is and maybe that's what's supposed to happen
- 4:35to. See the beautiful thing about
- 4:36being human is we don't know everything that we're we don't
- 4:40know. We just know what we know and I
- 4:43will often use the example that we are like iPhones.
- 4:46You open the package and it says, welcome and that's it.
- 4:49And it's and then it goes through its little process and
- 4:51it sets up the iPhone, but guess what?
- 4:54We don't have an instruction book.
- 4:56We don't know. All the things that does, he'll
- 4:58half the time my daughter has to take the Phone away from me and
- 5:01show me. She's like, Mom gives it this
- 5:03way, Bubba, Bubba, and I'm like, oh, I didn't even know it could
- 5:06do that. I took, I actually took a class
- 5:09from this amazing girl, Kelly Buckner, you know, anybody who
- 5:12wants to learn how to do social media photography, really great
- 5:16iPhone photography, Kelly Buckner.com.
- 5:19I'm telling you, this girl is awesome.
- 5:21She does it on Zoom. Well worth every dollar you
- 5:24spend with her and this, this two hour session I had with her,
- 5:30I take pictures constantly, anyone who knows?
- 5:33Me knows, I use my phone camera all the time.
- 5:36Well, guess what? Kelly taught me a whole boatload
- 5:38about taking pictures with my camera.
- 5:40That I had no clue at even did. And again, this is because we
- 5:43don't know what we don't know. So this is the part of being
- 5:47able to let go of the disappointment, if you remember,
- 5:50I don't know what. I don't know.
- 5:52It's easier to let go of the disappointment.
- 5:54It's easier to move forward. It's easier to do the thing that
- 5:59you you need to do. In order to get to where you
- 6:01want to go. So today, I'm going to tell you,
- 6:04even if the other people in your life, don't let go.
- 6:07Even if you still are faced with the same problem.
- 6:10Let go of the disappointment focus on where you want to be.
- 6:14Go in that direction. Move with that purpose in mind,
- 6:20I promise you, you will start to see differences but you're the
- 6:23only one that can hold the line, you have to hold it in your
- 6:26head. So I hope you guys have a very
- 6:29blessed day. I know I'm going to because I'm
- 6:31going to get to hang out with my chickens, a lot today and redo
- 6:34some of the stuff in their Coop and I hope you guys find your
- 6:37happy place and I will talk to you tomorrow.
- 6:40Bye. I know I'm going to because I'm
- 6:31going to get to hang out with my chickens, a lot today and redo
- 6:34some of the stuff in their Coop and I hope you guys find your
- 6:37happy place and I will talk to you tomorrow.
- 6:40Bye.
