- 0:00Have faith, let begin. When it starts right now.
- 0:06Welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin.
- 0:10Here's your host, Angel Santana. Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Have
- 0:14Faith, Let It Begin. I'm also doing this video format for TikTok,
- 0:18which I'm hoping that you will join us if you want to see the video format of it.
- 0:22And I want to welcome you all in. Again, my name is Angel Santana.
- 0:26This has been a very, very crazy week. This week, we've been talking about betrayal.
- 0:32And on Monday, we talked about the day the truth finally found me.
- 0:39Yesterday, we talked about being cheated by people.
- 0:43So today, we're talking about something even more difficult,
- 0:49even harder than you'll ever imagine, we're talking about what happens when
- 0:53someone you love becomes someone you no longer recognize.
- 0:59I think we've all can relate to these stories. We're talking about what happens when trust is broken.
- 1:04We're talking about what happens when the person you believed,
- 1:11the person you believed in, I should say, chooses a different path.
- 1:16This episode is called When Love Becomes a Lie.
- 1:20Have faith, let it begin. crazy stories, crazy week, crazy series entitled cheated starts right now.
- 1:31You know, I think one of the hardest, how do I start? I think one of the hardest
- 1:34things a person can experience,
- 1:38is discovering that someone they love has been living a different truth,
- 1:45a different truth than the one they've been sharing.
- 1:49Not for a day, not for a week, but for a long time.
- 1:55What makes it painful isn't simply the betrayal itself.
- 2:00It's realizing how many conversations happened while the truth remained hidden.
- 2:08How many promises were made? How many moments were shared, how many times you
- 2:15looked someone in the eyes and believed what they were telling you.
- 2:22Because trust is one of the most valuable gifts we can give another human being.
- 2:29Once it's broken, it's difficult to put back together.
- 2:35Wouldn't you agree? I mean, I remember asking myself the number one question.
- 2:40The question that kept me awake at night.
- 2:43Question I couldn't answer.
- 2:46Question I wasn't prepared for. I found myself replaying the conversation,
- 2:53replaying memories, trying to find the moment where everything changed,
- 3:00trying to understand how something that felt so real could suddenly feel so uncertain.
- 3:08And maybe that's the hardest part of a breakup or a heartbreak,
- 3:14I should say, not losing the person losing your your inner self losing your certainty,
- 3:23losing your confidence yeah that's probably better losing your confidence in
- 3:29what you thought was truth or was true we reflect together right you know what but.
- 3:38You know what betrayal does? It makes you question yourself.
- 3:42You start asking, how did I miss this? Why didn't I see it?
- 3:49Was I that naive? Was I blind? Should I have known?
- 3:55And before long, the pain caused by someone else's choices becomes pain directed
- 4:02at yourself. That's dangerous.
- 4:06Because eventually you stop being angry at what happened and start blaming yourself for what happened.
- 4:14I lived there for a long time, longer than I should have.
- 4:18If you're listening with me this morning or today or whenever you're listening
- 4:22to this episode, maybe you have too.
- 4:25Maybe someone hurt you years ago and you're still carrying responsibilities
- 4:31for decisions they made.
- 4:34Maybe you're still
- 4:36carrying guilt That was never yours to carry
- 4:39Maybe you're still punishing yourself for
- 4:43trusting But trusting someone isn't
- 4:46weakness Loving someone isn't weakness
- 4:49Believing the best in someone isn't weakness Those are qualities Those are qualities
- 4:57that God placed inside of us
- 5:00the mistake or the mistakes belongs to the person who abused that trust,
- 5:08not the person who offered it.
- 5:10One of the things I struggled with most was understanding where God was,
- 5:16where was God during all of it.
- 5:19And as a pastor in training, as a man of faith, I prayed, I cried,
- 5:23I questioned, I searched for the answers, and sometimes it felt like heaven was silent.
- 5:33As I sit here today with you, looking back now, I see something I couldn't see then. God never left.
- 5:40Not once. Even when I felt abandoned.
- 5:45Even when my heart was shattered. Even when I couldn't imagine a future. God remained.
- 5:52Sometimes his presence wasn't allowed at all.
- 5:56Sometimes it was simply the strength to get through another day.
- 6:00The strength to keep going when quitting felt
- 6:03easier The strength to wake up for
- 6:06tomorrow The strength to keep believing there
- 6:09was still purpose ahead So here
- 6:13I'm going to ask you the question If you're listening this morning If you're
- 6:17listening today And you've had your heart broken If you've been lied to If you've
- 6:22experienced betrayal from someone you loved I want you to know and remember
- 6:27this Their choices do not define your value.
- 6:31Their deception does not define your future.
- 6:35And their betrayal does not have the authority to rewrite God's plan for your life.
- 6:41Healing takes time. Trust takes time.
- 6:45Recovery takes time. But God specializes in rebuilding broken things.
- 6:51And he's rebuilding you.
- 6:53Heavenly Father, today we pray for every broken heart listening,
- 6:56for every person carrying wounds from betrayal, disappointment, and broken trust.
- 7:02Remember then that they are loved, they are valued, and never forgotten.
- 7:08Help them release the burdens they will never meant to carry and place their burdens.
- 7:14In you once again. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
- 7:17Tomorrow, we're talking about one of the most difficult truths of all,
- 7:21the times I cheated myself.
- 7:23Until then, never forget, have faith, let it begin.
- 7:29Don't forget, everybody, tomorrow we continue on with the series and don't forget
- 7:35that I will be, once again,
- 7:37preaching on a live simulcast all
