- 0:00Speaker 1: Countdown to Election Day, which is now less than two
- 0:02Speaker 1: weeks away because, you know, we're on Tuesday night.
- 0:04Speaker 2: So we'll be almost done voting in two weeks.
- 0:07Speaker 1: And in these final days, the president is tonight in
- 0:09Speaker 1: North Carolina trying to keep the state's current Republican Senate seat.
- 0:12Speaker 2: From turning Carolina blue.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Trump has his work cut out for him, though, because
- 0:16Speaker 1: a new poll from North Carolina shows Trump's candidate, Michael Whatley,
- 0:20Speaker 1: trailing the state's former governor, Democrat Roy Cooper, by double digits.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I mean, that is a massive, massive differential. That's not
- 0:27Speaker 1: a neck and neck poll. And it doesn't stop there.
- 0:30Speaker 1: One of the nation's top election forecasters tonight, Larry Sabato,
- 0:33Speaker 1: moving 28 House races towards Democrats, and that is across
- 0:36Speaker 1: 20 states, not a single one moving in the Republican direction.
- 0:40Speaker 1: The Cook Political Report tonight is moving two Senate races
- 0:43Speaker 1: in the Deep South to the left, those states Mississippi
- 0:46Speaker 1: and South Carolina. Now, it is no wonder, given all
- 0:50Speaker 1: of that, that Republicans are now keeping their distance from Trump.
- 0:53Speaker 1: In fact, John Sununu really takes the cake on this.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Let's just show you this new ad from the New
- 0:58Speaker 1: Hampshire Republican Senate candidate. And that is, of course, John Sununu.
- 1:03Speaker 3: The way Chris Pappas tells it, I'm President Trump's long
- 1:07Speaker 3: lost son.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I've never even met the man. I mean, here's the thing.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It's not like it was an interview where it just
- 1:16Speaker 1: came out.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I mean, he recorded an ad. They checked it. He
- 1:19Speaker 2: probably did like 20 takes. It wasn't a slip of
- 1:22Speaker 2: the tongue. Never met the man.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's a whole new level of napalm from a man
- 1:26Speaker 1: that Republicans used to fall all over themselves to get
- 1:28Speaker 1: close to.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And say that they knew.
- 1:30Speaker 1: And Sununu is not alone. He's joining a long list
- 1:32Speaker 1: of Republicans now running from Trump. Byron Donald is even
- 1:36Speaker 1: on the list. He is running for governor in Florida.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Donald's all but erased Trump from his campaign website. It
- 1:41Speaker 1: was literally a day where he was Trump all over it.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And the next day he was gone. And Fox News
- 1:46Speaker 1: tonight shifted that race in the direction of the Democratic nominee,
- 1:49Speaker 1: David Jolly. So there are warning signs, obviously. And that
- 1:53Speaker 1: seemed to tee Trump up to offer, once again, money
- 1:57Speaker 1: to people. This time, if they report cases of corruption
- 2:01Speaker 1: or fraud.
- 2:04Speaker 4: If you turn somebody in and you, let's say, report
- 2:10Speaker 4: and you find a billion dollars, we are giving a
- 2:13Speaker 4: commission to that person of 1%.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Now, when it comes to putting billions on things, if
- 2:21Speaker 1: we're going to look at people who are involved in
- 2:22Speaker 1: billion-dollar gains on corruption.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Well, that just is going to raise a whole lot
- 2:27Speaker 1: of questions, isn't it? It comes less than 24 hours
- 2:29Speaker 1: after Trump promised American farmers more money as well.
- 2:34Speaker 5: I'm also pleased to announce that the Department of Agriculture
- 2:38Speaker 5: will be launching a new harvest fuel relief program providing
- 2:44Speaker 5: our farmers with $ 8 billion in support.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And, of course, there's the $ 5, 000 checks. Remember that Trump
- 2:53Speaker 1: said that Americans would get all Americans if Republicans kept
- 2:56Speaker 1: control of Congress. One thing is for sure, when it
- 2:59Speaker 1: comes down to actually what Americans think about all this,
- 3:00Speaker 1: they're already voting. So far, more than 11 million votes
- 3:03Speaker 1: have been cast in 41 states, as well as the
- 3:05Speaker 1: District of Columbia. And more and more Americans are turning out.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You're seeing numbers that are back up or topping even
- 3:11Speaker 1: presidential years in some states. But Trump's message on issue
- 3:16Speaker 1: number one, for voters at least, remains the same.
- 3:21Speaker 6: We have more growth than this country has ever had,
- 3:24Speaker 6: and we have more growth than any country in the
- 3:26Speaker 6: world is having right now. We have the single greatest
- 3:30Speaker 6: moment in the history of our country in terms.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Of the economy.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Now, America does not have more growth than it's ever had.
- 3:38Speaker 2: That's just fact. It's very easy to see.
- 3:41Speaker 1: But in fact, if you look at the most recent
- 3:43Speaker 1: quarterly growth, it was half the rate as it was
- 3:45Speaker 1: in the same quarter of 2023, just as one example, okay?
- 3:48Speaker 1: So Trump lied there, and Americans know it, which is
- 3:51Speaker 1: why he is spending his final weeks on the road
- 3:54Speaker 1: traveling to the reddest of red states that should not
- 3:57Speaker 1: be issues for Republicans, but now are major question marks.
- 4:01Speaker 5: North Carolina's special place.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Hello to Oklahoma.
- 4:06Speaker 6: We love Alabama.
- 4:07Speaker 7: I love Nebraska.
- 4:08Speaker 8: Hello to the great state of Texas very special hello
- 4:13Speaker 8: to Tennessee I like Ohio hello Montana a very special
- 4:17Speaker 8: hello to Arizona.
- 4:19Speaker 7: Thank you Alaska hello Georgia a very special hello to
- 4:24Speaker 7: Kentucky thank you very much Kansas I love you Kansas.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Kristen Holmes is out front in Greenville North Carolina that's
- 4:34Speaker 1: where Trump is tonight and Kristen you've got some new
- 4:36Speaker 1: reporting I know what are you learning.
- 4:40Speaker 9: Well, Erin, even though those midterms are two weeks away,
- 4:42Speaker 9: inside the White House, the knives are out.
- 4:45Speaker 2: There is fear of a rampage.
- 4:46Speaker 9: By President Trump if they do lose those midterms, particularly
- 4:50Speaker 9: both the Senate and the House. And it's led to
- 4:53Speaker 9: some brutal internal jockeying. One, we have seen knives out
- 4:57Speaker 9: for Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. There was some perception
- 5:00Speaker 9: among some of the administration that because she was not
- 5:02Speaker 9: there when Katie Zachariah had been hired— that that meant
- 5:06Speaker 9: that President Trump.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Was looking for replacements.
- 5:08Speaker 9: We've seen multiple reports on that. We've seen the attacks
- 5:13Speaker 9: and the reports on James Blair, as well as Chris LaCivita.
- 5:17Speaker 9: We know that in addition to those different allies, there
- 5:20Speaker 9: are administration officials across the board who are looking for
- 5:23Speaker 9: potential openings. There have been conversations, speculation that some cabinet
- 5:28Speaker 9: officials might want to get out before Democrats take over,
- 5:31Speaker 9: fear of those Democratic investigations. One of the people that
- 5:36Speaker 9: there's been a much speculation about is Secretary of Defense
- 5:39Speaker 9: Pete Hegseth, who is expected to be a very main
- 5:43Speaker 9: focus for those Democrats right out of the gate. Another
- 5:46Speaker 9: speculation has been around Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, that
- 5:49Speaker 9: he's going to try and leave and go into some
- 5:52Speaker 9: kind of lucrative private energy industry. Just right now, the
- 5:56Speaker 9: real focus, Aaron, is that the knives are out and
- 5:59Speaker 9: you're seeing that leaking and that infighting that this administration
- 6:02Speaker 9: this time around had been very good at controlling.
- 6:07Speaker 1: So we talk about the top concern. Obviously, for many voters,
- 6:10Speaker 1: it was the economy. And then there was that recent
- 6:12Speaker 1: Fox poll, I see, that showed it was corruption, right?
- 6:15Speaker 1: That corruption was the top thing. So Trump saw that
- 6:18Speaker 1: because it's on Fox. And so now he's going to
- 6:21Speaker 1: pay people if they expose corruption. I'll play again the
- 6:24Speaker 1: claim here of the money you could get.
- 6:28Speaker 10: The kind of money that's been stolen is trillions from
- 6:31Speaker 10: this country by crooked politicians that made things and set
- 6:36Speaker 10: things up, crooked attorney generals like we have in New York,
- 6:40Speaker 10: like we have in Minnesota, like we have, I can
- 6:44Speaker 10: name all of them.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I don't know if, you know, how much money they're getting,
- 6:50Speaker 1: but he's saying, you know, it's a percent.
- 6:52Speaker 2: So if it's a billion, it's a lot.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Now, I mean, just according to Forbes, Trump is an
- 6:55Speaker 1: estimated $ 2. 7 billion richer now than he was when he
- 6:59Speaker 1: came into office. So You know, what's the corruption that
- 7:02Speaker 1: voters are most worried about?
- 7:04Speaker 11: Well, just before air, the White House official X account
- 7:09Speaker 11: posted this.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Right.
- 7:10Speaker 11: If you've seen fraud, if you notice fraud.
- 7:13Speaker 2: They're all in here.
- 7:15Speaker 11: And it was a long list of people pointing to Trump.
- 7:19Speaker 11: And then listing all of the people he has pardoned
- 7:22Speaker 11: for fraud.
- 7:22Speaker 9: Right.
- 7:23Speaker 11: So, I mean, this really just probably unintentionally draws attention,
- 7:28Speaker 11: draws the eye to Trump's own corruption and this problem
- 7:32Speaker 11: of corruption.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So does Eric Dieters, who exposed Kimberly Guilfoyle and says
- 7:36Speaker 1: there's more to come, does he get paid?
- 7:38Speaker 2: A finder's fee? A percent of the Amex bill?
- 7:41Speaker 3: I mean, there really is something of an OJ looking
- 7:44Speaker 3: for the real killer.
- 7:45Speaker 8: Yeah, if I did it.
- 7:46Speaker 3: If I did it. And, you know, I mean, it
- 7:48Speaker 3: really goes on and on.
- 7:49Speaker 2: We talk about the pardon.
- 7:50Speaker 3: It's like 15 minutes before we went on air, the
- 7:52Speaker 3: New York Times came out with an exclusive story about
- 7:56Speaker 3: another bunch of people being hired who are friendly with Trump,
- 8:00Speaker 3: a former lawyer, two former lawyers, for a billionaire to
- 8:04Speaker 3: get a pardon. And it just never stops. And that's
- 8:07Speaker 3: what people associate when they're thinking corruption. When those polls
- 8:10Speaker 3: that Harry is going to cite talk about corruption, they're
- 8:13Speaker 3: thinking of this administration. They're not thinking of Tish James.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And that is what the polling shows.
- 8:18Speaker 1: The polls show that Democrats have a double digit advantage
- 8:21Speaker 1: on which party is more trusted. On corruption, we are
- 8:24Speaker 1: a long way away from 2016 in which corruption was
- 8:27Speaker 1: an issue that Donald Trump hammered Hillary Clinton over and
- 8:30Speaker 1: over and over again. Trump's net approval rating on corruption
- 8:33Speaker 1: is minus 20, minus 30 points, perhaps even worse, depending
- 8:37Speaker 1: on which poll you look at. The name of the
- 8:39Speaker 1: game has stayed the same, but the game is fought
- 8:43Speaker 1: over a very different ground from what it once was.
