Speaker 4: Kayla Young, good morning, you.

Speaker 6: Do morning, happy belated Easter.
• 2:16
Speaker 4: And welcome to our The new studio is beautiful. She's
• 2:20
Speaker 4: your first appearance in a new studio, is see. The
• 2:22
Speaker 4: interesting thing about it is is in the control room.
• 2:25
Speaker 4: Uh not well, if you count the host microphone. We
• 2:29
Speaker 4: have three microphones in here, yeah. Uh, and we have
• 2:32
Speaker 4: more across the hall where Ryan sits. And so it's
• 2:37
Speaker 4: always interesting when I always when I have just one guest,
• 2:39
Speaker 4: I say you just, you know, pick a mic. It's
• 2:42
Speaker 4: always interesting to see who takes what mike. You took
• 2:45
Speaker 4: the one in the center, because you can have any
• 2:47
Speaker 4: of them. You took the one in the center, all right, and.
• 2:50
Speaker 6: Most of my caucus in here.
• 2:53
Speaker 4: That's a good idea. Every Democrat and the legislature will
• 2:56
Speaker 4: come come in. That's she's got jokes, got jokes. How
• 3:00
Speaker 4: you been, I've been.
• 3:01
Speaker 6: Well, I've been well. Woke up to the news about
• 3:03
Speaker 6: the pope, which is sad.
• 3:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, continuing coverage of that via ABC News and
• 3:09
Speaker 4: another talk line. Guys are going to get into that, Amanda.
• 3:11
Speaker 4: Now we'll get into a little bit later on at
• 3:12
Speaker 4: Metro News Midday as well. Let's talk about the session
• 3:17
Speaker 4: recently wrapped up session we did.
• 3:19
Speaker 6: Yeah, we're a week a week since, which is nice.
• 3:23
Speaker 6: It was a weird session. We talked about a little
• 3:25
Speaker 6: bit before we came on. It was just an odd session.
• 3:27
Speaker 4: What made us weird?
• 3:29
Speaker 6: It was my first new governor, so it was kind
• 3:31
Speaker 6: of getting used to that, and then we had a
• 3:33
Speaker 6: whole bunch of new people, a new committee process, which
• 3:36
Speaker 6: I actually loved and thought was great in the House,
• 3:39
Speaker 6: so it slowed things down. But honestly, we got to
• 3:43
Speaker 6: look at bills a little more critically, and some didn't
• 3:45
Speaker 6: ever make it past that first discussion because we realized
• 3:48
Speaker 6: things actually weren't a good idea. So I really liked
• 3:51
Speaker 6: that part of it, but it felt like we didn't
• 3:53
Speaker 6: get much done for people.
• 3:55
Speaker 4: You know, and I've had various legislators on the show
• 4:00
Speaker 4: Republican and demiccrants more Republican than Democrat because there's more
• 4:03
Speaker 4: Republicans than our Democrats. A lot of them said the
• 4:06
  Speaker 4: same thing.
• 4:07
Speaker 6: Yes, disappointing, and I think people probably think it's a
• 4:09
Speaker 6: bit of a waste of time. We've started talking about
• 4:12
Speaker 6: whether or not we should do it every year or
• 4:13
Speaker 6: every other year, because it doesn't seem like doesn't seem
• 4:17
Speaker 6: like we're really making the most of the people's money
• 4:19
  Speaker 6: up there.
• 4:21
Speaker 4: When you say it was a disappointing session, we said
• 4:25
Speaker 4: it was weird, and you said it was disappointing. What
• 4:27
Speaker 4: were some of the things we're disappointing for you but
• 4:29
  Speaker 4: didn't get done.
• 4:30
Speaker 6: I wish we'd spent a lot less time on social
• 4:32
Speaker 6: issues and a little more time on real, tangible things
• 4:35
Speaker 6: that can help folks. I've been working on childcare for
• 4:37
Speaker 6: a number of years. We have a bipartisan task force
• 4:39
Speaker 6: that's been working on childcare. We still haven't been able
• 4:42
Speaker 6: to get anything done. In fact, we funded childcare less
• 4:44
Speaker 6: this year than we ever have in the last fifteen years. So,
• 4:49
Speaker 6: just common sense things, things that people need.
• 4:51
Speaker 7: To get to go to work, you know.
• 4:52
Speaker 6: So we cut money for roads, well, the governor cut
• 4:56
Speaker 6: money for roads in his budget.
• 4:57
Speaker 7: Just things that we all agree on talk about.
• 5:01
Speaker 4: Because there's some little so there's some people upset when
• 5:03
Speaker 4: it came out I guess late Thursday night into Friday
• 5:05
Speaker 4: morning about the line item items that but the governor
• 5:08
  Speaker 4: took outs.
• 5:09
Speaker 6: Yeah, so if the governor has the capacity to veto
• 5:12
Speaker 6: line items in the budget, i'd heard he was going
• 5:14
Speaker 6: to veto the whole budget, so I was glad that
• 5:15
Speaker 6: that didn't happen. He just vetoed. I want to say,
• 5:18
Speaker 6: like twenty seven items. Most of them weren't wholesale, full
• 5:21
Speaker 6: on cuts. Some of them were just cuts and reductions
• 5:24
Speaker 6: by certain amounts, which is like, when we're talking about
• 5:27
Speaker 6: five billion dollars, it's weird to cut one hundred and
• 5:30
Speaker 6: fifty thousand dollars from a program. It's weird to cut
• 5:33
Speaker 6: two hundred and fifty thousand dollars from Lily's Place in
• 5:35
Speaker 6: Huntington that we all know is an amazing facility. They
• 5:38
Speaker 6: cut KASA, which were court appointed special advocates, first time
• 5:42
Speaker 6: they've ever had a line item in the budget, very
• 5:44
Speaker 6: important for kids who are going through the foster care system,
• 5:47
Speaker 6: and they cut that to from what started at one
• 5:49
Speaker 6: point eight million to three hundred thousand. I mean, that's
• 5:53
Speaker 6: a massive leap when we have the money to do it.
• 5:55
Speaker 6: I don't understand why we'd make these important cuts. Safe
• 5:58
Speaker 6: schools got cut. Another thing just I don't get it.
• 6:01
Speaker 4: Go back to childcare for a moment. I know Senator
• 6:04
Speaker 4: Mike Stewart wanted to put together Republican Mike Stewart wanted
• 6:07
Speaker 4: to put together a study, and there were some questions
• 6:11
Speaker 4: about the cost of that, and he was on the
• 6:14
Speaker 4: Statewide Show last week talking about that. Where were you
• 6:19
  Speaker 4: on that?
• 6:20
Speaker 6: That would never made its way in front of me
• 6:22
Speaker 6: a lot before the Health Committee, but it never I mean,
• 6:24
Speaker 6: I think anything we can do to focus on our
• 6:27
Speaker 6: foster care system that is, you know, we've got the
• 6:29
Speaker 6: laws in place. I feel like we just need to
• 6:31
Speaker 6: enforce them. At this point, I don't know that the
• 6:33
Speaker 6: study's necessary, and I think that's what the Secretary said
• 6:36
Speaker 6: as well. I think he was like, hey, he's fairly
• 6:39
Speaker 6: brand new. He just got here, kind of wanted some
• 6:41
Speaker 6: time to get, you know, figure out the lay of
• 6:43
Speaker 6: the land and try to see if he could make
• 6:45
Speaker 6: things work before spending I don't know what the cost
• 6:47
Speaker 6: of that study was, but I think it was high.
• 6:49
Speaker 6: I know when we did the study to reorganize the DHHR,
• 6:52
Speaker 6: it was like a million dollars for them to be like, yeah,
• 6:54
Speaker 6: you should. So it's just sometimes that's not the best
• 6:58
Speaker 6: use of our money. But I mean, anything we can
• 6:59
Speaker 6: do to help kids in care I think is important.
• 7:02

• 7:13
Speaker 4: Let's talk about the final hours. Yeah, this session, it
• 7:18
Speaker 4: was a while time. I was home watching it on television,
• 7:21
Speaker 4: like a lot of people were on that Saturday night,
• 7:23
Speaker 4: and it was it was, it was, it was. It
• 7:29
Speaker 4: was interesting to say the least, the way everything with
• 7:32
Speaker 4: down parliamentary procedures, so on and so forth. Of your
• 7:35
  Speaker 4: take on it.
• 7:35
Speaker 6: Yeah, with the d E I bill. So the DII
• 7:37
Speaker 6: Bill was one of the last things you saw folks
• 7:40
Speaker 6: on the other side kind of clamoring over each other
• 7:43
Speaker 6: to get this bill through. We waited the House waited
• 7:45
Speaker 6: till the very last minute to get it through. They
• 7:47
Speaker 6: were mad at us. But honestly, if it's such a priority,
• 7:49
  Speaker 6: you should do.
• 7:50
Speaker 7: It earlier in the year.
• 7:51
  Speaker 2: But they didn't.
• 7:51
Speaker 6: They waited till the very last minute, and when it
• 7:54
Speaker 6: was before us in the House, it was on third reading,
• 7:56
Speaker 6: but with right to amend so we had I believe
• 7:59
Speaker 6: twenty seven and amendments, both Republican and Democrat amendments that
• 8:02
Speaker 6: were on there. They tried to limit the time that
• 8:04
Speaker 6: we spent on those amendments to an hour. Well that
• 8:07
Speaker 6: didn't include the time to present the amendments, so we
• 8:09
Speaker 6: took a little while to present our amendments, and then
• 8:12
Speaker 6: the rules kind of speak to how you can talk
• 8:14
Speaker 6: during those debates, and it's parliamentary procedure, but it's honestly
• 8:17
Speaker 6: very interesting to watch if you're into it or just
• 8:19
Speaker 6: a huge nerd like you and me both are. But
• 8:23
Speaker 6: it's fascinating and it's really like, especially when we have
• 8:25
Speaker 6: the numbers that we have, the rules are really like
• 8:28
Speaker 6: what we live and die by because that's kind of
• 8:30
Speaker 6: how we can move throughout the session. So we got
• 8:33
Speaker 6: through the amendments. A couple of the amendments did pass,
• 8:36
Speaker 6: which meant that the bill had to go to the Senate.
• 8:38
Speaker 6: It didn't have to it couldn't go straight to the governor.
• 8:40
Speaker 6: It had to go back for the Senate for approval.
• 8:42
Speaker 6: It went to the Senate.
• 8:43
  Speaker 4: They had the.
• 8:44
Speaker 6: Amendments over there, and which means that they can't bypass
• 8:47
Speaker 6: that process. They have to take up those amendments. They
• 8:49
Speaker 6: didn't do that. They tried to suspend the rules and
• 8:52
Speaker 6: just pass it. They realized that wasn't going to work.
• 8:55
Speaker 6: They tried another maneuver, which they did manage to get done,
• 8:59
Speaker 6: or at least said that they done. I'm not sure
• 9:00
Speaker 6: how legal it was, but we govern ourselves, and so
• 9:04
Speaker 6: I think the reality is the Senate Democrats Senate letter.
• 9:06
Speaker 6: They passed the bill with like minutes to spare, passed,
• 9:09
Speaker 6: it got it to the governor, and then the Senate
• 9:12
Speaker 6: Democrats sent a letter saying, hey, what you did was
• 9:14
Speaker 6: totally wrong and illegal. This bill should not be signed
• 9:17
Speaker 6: and enrolled. And I don't think it has been signed
• 9:20
Speaker 6: by the governor yet. We'll see what happens with that.
• 9:22
Speaker 6: I mean, I think someone will probably have to challenge
• 9:24
Speaker 6: the law to say it was passed illegally, because I
• 9:26
Speaker 6: believe that it was.
• 9:28
Speaker 4: I had Senator Joey Garcia on the midday show last
• 9:31
Speaker 4: week and I just point blank asking Delegate. I just said,
• 9:35
Speaker 4: is this going to end up in court? And he said, yeah,
• 9:37
  Speaker 4: well likely.
• 9:38
Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it absolutely needs to because what they
• 9:40
Speaker 6: did was against the rules that we utilized.
• 9:43
Speaker 4: What was being discussed there, what was dei. And there
• 9:46
Speaker 4: was a lot of people that are happy that the
• 9:49
Speaker 4: bill passed, with a lot of people that weren't happy
• 9:51
Speaker 4: about it. Where were you on the whole?
• 9:52
Speaker 6: DEI think, yeah, I was against it. I think we
• 9:54
Speaker 6: should teach history as it is, so I don't think
• 9:57
Speaker 6: we need to limit the speech within the schools, and
• 10:01
Speaker 6: it seems like that's what that bill is seeking to do.
• 10:03
Speaker 6: We have a lot of rich history here and you know,
• 10:05
Speaker 6: only state born out of the Civil War. I don't
• 10:08
Speaker 6: think we need to alter how we teach it.
• 10:10
Speaker 4: The problem that I see with with DEI in general
• 10:14
Speaker 4: is no one can define what it is because dei
• 10:19
Speaker 4: means different things to different people.
• 10:22
  Speaker 3: Uh huh.
• 10:23
Speaker 4: It's kind of like the old saying what they used
• 10:24
Speaker 4: to say about pornography. They used to say, well, you
• 10:26
Speaker 4: know the I guess this was at Supreme Court somebody
• 10:29
Speaker 4: had said one point, I can't tell you what it is,
• 10:32
Speaker 4: but I'll know it when I see it. And everybody
• 10:34
Speaker 4: has a different definition of what DEI is. I mean
• 10:36
Speaker 4: a lot of people think that DEI to them is
• 10:40
Speaker 4: that you're giving preference to certain groups, racial groups, or
• 10:44
  Speaker 4: whatever over others.
• 10:46
  Speaker 6: Correct.
• 10:46
Speaker 4: But then there's also the school of thought with DEI
• 10:49
Speaker 4: that says that this also involves veterans, it involves a
• 10:52
  Speaker 4: number of things.
• 10:53
Speaker 6: Well, I mean, if it's a preference, we give veterans
• 10:55
Speaker 6: preferential status all the time. In fact, in that bill,
• 10:58
Speaker 6: I tried to make sure veterans were protected as a
• 11:01
Speaker 6: protected class within that bill, because you know, larger than
• 11:04
Speaker 6: the state law, the Constitution has protected classes, and if
• 11:08
Speaker 6: we're not protecting those classes, I don't know what we're doing.
• 11:11
Speaker 6: And so even within the bill, there was not a
• 11:14
Speaker 6: definition of DEI. It just said programs that are that
• 11:18
Speaker 6: do X, programs that do Why the bill was in
• 11:21
Speaker 6: three different pieces which talked about state government. There was
• 11:23
Speaker 6: a piece that talked about county schools. There's a piece
• 11:26
Speaker 6: that talked about higher ed. Each one of those had
• 11:28
Speaker 6: very different definitions as to what counted within DEI. Some
• 11:32
Speaker 6: of them counted preference based on sex, some of them
• 11:35
Speaker 6: did not count preference based on sex. Some of them
• 11:37
Speaker 6: talk about race, some of them don't. So that's the
• 11:39
Speaker 6: problem and why we shouldn't be dealing with this in
• 11:42
  Speaker 6: the first place, it's not I don't think it's the
• 11:44
Speaker 6: government's role in any capacity to be dealing with this.
• 11:47
Speaker 4: Let's talk about before we let you go about special session.
• 11:50
Speaker 4: The governor referred to it, I think as a long
• 11:52
Speaker 4: hot summer Morse summer, hot Morsey summer. Any any idea
• 11:58
Speaker 4: when a special session is going to happen well to
• 11:59
Speaker 4: be covered? Would you like to see covered in a
• 12:01
  Speaker 4: special session?
• 12:02
Speaker 6: I would love to see childcare. I would love to
• 12:04
Speaker 6: see economic development. I would love to see anything to
• 12:07
Speaker 6: raise revenue or bring in jobs. I would love to
• 12:09
Speaker 6: see a legalization of cannabis to bring in revenue, because
• 12:13
Speaker 6: you know, our neighboring states, we're in this backyard brawl.
• 12:16
Speaker 6: Our neighboring states are bringing in hundreds of millions of
• 12:18
Speaker 6: dollars a year in revenue, and we haven't done anything
• 12:20
Speaker 6: to bring in any more revenue. So I would love
• 12:22
Speaker 6: to see anything to do that. You know, we didn't
• 12:25
Speaker 6: do much that helped folks this year. There's a couple things,
• 12:28
Speaker 6: universal licensing that was the Governor's bill that I was
• 12:30
Speaker 6: very excited to support, but that helped people that are
• 12:33
Speaker 6: coming into the state, not people who are already here,
• 12:35
Speaker 6: so anything we can do to help our people here
• 12:37
Speaker 6: in West Virginia. I hope it's not a long, hot
• 12:40
Speaker 6: Morrissey summer, but you know that costs a lot of
• 12:43
Speaker 6: money to go back into special session when we're just
• 12:45
Speaker 6: kind of sitting there. We could get that stuff done already,
• 12:47
Speaker 6: so I'm sure we'll see one sooner rather than later.
• 12:51
Speaker 6: It makes it hard for all of us to plan
• 12:53
Speaker 6: out our summers, but you know, we got to do
• 12:55
Speaker 6: what we gotta do.
• 12:56
Speaker 4: Belle get Kaylie Young. It's always a pleasure to have
• 12:59
Speaker 4: you on the show. Interesting perspective and you get the
• 13:02
Speaker 4: I mean so far, that's the joke of the week.
• 13:04
Speaker 4: You know, when you came in and you said you
• 13:05
Speaker 4: could get the entire Caucus Center studio on.
• 13:07
Speaker 3: Hares first day of the week.
• 13:10

Speaker 12: One are my four months in January, February, March, almost
• 17:11
Speaker 12: all of April. Yes, and it's it's it's starting to
• 17:14
Speaker 12: come together. I'm still learning about what the pieces are,
• 17:16
Speaker 12: so then I'll be able to put the puzzle together.
• 17:18
Speaker 4: Talk about the difference between the elighted offices. You, of
• 17:22
Speaker 4: course were Secretary of State, uh and you and you
• 17:25
Speaker 4: ran for a couple of other office, but now you're
• 17:26
Speaker 4: on the county level. Talk talk about the.
• 17:28
  Speaker 7: Differences hands on.
• 17:30
Speaker 12: I was always hands on as Secretary of State too,
• 17:32
Speaker 12: and you know, learning about what other people do. But
• 17:35
Speaker 12: this is really hands on the first time when they
• 17:37
Speaker 12: text me and said permission to sign since I wasn't
• 17:40
Speaker 12: exactly in the office, permission to sign the payroll, and
• 17:43
Speaker 12: I was like, I have to sign the payroll and
• 17:46
Speaker 12: we have a treasure for.
• 17:47
Speaker 7: That where's John for new what I need right? And
• 17:49
  Speaker 7: where's the sheriff?
• 17:50
Speaker 12: And so it really is a little more hands on.
• 17:53
Speaker 12: I mean I was hands on, as I said in
• 17:55
Speaker 12: the Secretary of State's office, because I looked at the
• 17:57
Speaker 12: bills also and seeing what we were signed. And I
• 18:00
Speaker 12: do that also as county commissioner and and and it.
• 18:04
Speaker 7: Actually it helps me to.
• 18:05
Speaker 12: Know why and what we're doing things, why we're doing them,
• 18:09
Speaker 12: and how much it's costing. So yes, I look through
• 18:12
Speaker 12: every bill, and we all know I'm known as being frugal,
• 18:16
Speaker 12: so of course I'm going to look through and say,
• 18:17
Speaker 12: why are we buying a gift certificate from this store?
• 18:21
Speaker 12: Well it was for the juvenile court or drug court
• 18:25
Speaker 12: as part of an.
• 18:26
Speaker 7: Appreciation or something like that.
• 18:28
Speaker 12: And I'm like, okay, this could look bad though, that
• 18:30
Speaker 12: we're getting a gift certificate from alta. I can say
• 18:33
Speaker 12: all these things because it's public knowledge and anybody could
• 18:36
Speaker 12: foy it. So that's what I'm saying, like, why did
• 18:38
Speaker 12: we get a gift certificate at all?
• 18:39
  Speaker 3: Time?
• 18:40
  Speaker 4: Right?
• 18:40
Speaker 12: So and that was the reason, and that was oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
• 18:45
Speaker 12: And I understand that. But I just think that sometimes
• 18:47
Speaker 12: you and I come in with new fresh eyes, and
• 18:50
Speaker 12: we know I look at things so much differently than
• 18:54
Speaker 12: than other folks do. And it's it's just an opportunity
• 18:56
Speaker 12: for other people like, oh, oh, this is how she works.
• 18:59
Speaker 12: We're going to see this. You cannot only give her
• 19:02
Speaker 12: five minutes to get signing. You've got to give her
• 19:05
Speaker 12: twenty five minutes because I'm looking over everything.
• 19:07
  Speaker 4: It's a it's a different it's a learning experience, I
• 19:10
Speaker 4: would think for all parties involved. I mean they got
• 19:12
Speaker 4: to learn you and you got to run the learn them.
• 19:14
  Speaker 7: Think about it.
• 19:15
Speaker 12: We have three commissioners and the longest service is only
• 19:19
Speaker 12: eight years. That's Ben Lance has four and I have
• 19:22
Speaker 12: four months. When before we had a forty year in
• 19:25
Speaker 12: Happy Shores, thirty year in kit Carper and then you
• 19:28
Speaker 12: know that other one was you know, Dave Hardy for
• 19:31
Speaker 12: a while and then Ben and so this really is
• 19:34
Speaker 12: and it is different. Like you know, I'm rushing in
• 19:37
Speaker 12: here a little bit because I was going to go
• 19:38
Speaker 12: right home back home after this to prepare them for
• 19:41
Speaker 12: the next meeting I did have at the commission office.
• 19:43
Speaker 7: Well, they need me to come in now.
• 19:45
Speaker 12: Because they know I like to see things and really
• 19:49
Speaker 12: discussed to learn we're going to talk about the Congressional
• 19:53
Speaker 12: Directed Spending And I'm like, oh, yeah, I'll be there
• 19:57
Speaker 12: makeup or not because that is part of the learning.
• 20:00
Speaker 12: And I had the opportunity in March for the National
• 20:03
Speaker 12: Association of County Commissioners. We went up to see Senator
• 20:06
Speaker 12: Capitol and I said, Senator Capitol, we need some money
• 20:09
Speaker 12: for four age camps. She said, well, don't we have
• 20:11
Speaker 12: a CDs. And I'm like, CDs. What's it stand for
• 20:14
Speaker 12: Congressional Directed Spending? So last minute, they're due tomorrow. We're
• 20:18
Speaker 12: going to work on one.
• 20:20
Speaker 4: We had a call. Do you want to take a Yes?
• 20:22
Speaker 4: I can, all right, all right, Ryan, Yeah, we'll take it.
• 20:24
Speaker 7: Yeah, Commissioner, is that who I heard talking in my year?
• 20:26
  Speaker 8: Yeah?
• 20:27
Speaker 4: That was Ryan. That's our producer TV day that that's
• 20:33
Speaker 4: it's hard for me to get used to TV. People
• 20:35
Speaker 4: are used to that. I wasn't used to it at all. Yeah,
• 20:38
Speaker 4: you're on with Commissioner Tenant, go ahead.
• 20:41
Speaker 13: Thank you. In the last week, I've heard I think
• 20:46
Speaker 13: on the radio and read in a paper about the
• 20:50
Speaker 13: commission engaging someone too. I guess take an inventory of
• 20:58
Speaker 13: possible developments. It's within procy of Charleston, Yes, sir, and
• 21:04
Speaker 13: we have thirty some acres that's were pretty good for
• 21:11
Speaker 13: development and it's within an easy fifteen minutes to Charleston.
• 21:18
Speaker 13: And I just wondered, after they've taken inventory or done
• 21:23
Speaker 13: whatever study they're going to do, are they going to
• 21:27
Speaker 13: in some way communicate to the owners of the property
• 21:33
Speaker 13: or maybe get a ballpark figure on the estimated value
• 21:39
Speaker 13: of the property. And I'll hang up and listen.
• 21:42
Speaker 4: All right, we appreciate your phone call. What can you
• 21:43
  Speaker 4: tell you?
• 21:44
Speaker 7: That's a great question. And they is men. You know
• 21:49
Speaker 7: when they say they do this, you got to know
• 21:51
Speaker 7: who the they are.
• 21:52
Speaker 12: This is what I wanted to come and talk about
• 21:55
Speaker 12: is because a couple of a year and a half ago,
• 21:58
Speaker 12: I think Advantage Valley had the an analysis done of
• 22:03
Speaker 12: the region of what the region needed, and housing came up.
• 22:07
Speaker 12: It was a housing crisis, housing shortage, however you want
• 22:10
Speaker 12: to frame it, transportation and childcare. Well, then just over
• 22:15
Speaker 12: the last month, Carol Ellis, she came to me and
• 22:18
Speaker 12: she said, I want to hire.
• 22:21
Speaker 7: An engineering firm. They're called Moonlight Engineering.
• 22:24
Speaker 12: We need twelve thousand dollars to do exactly what this
• 22:26
Speaker 12: gentleman is talking a moonlight engineering. We need twelve thousand
• 22:29
Speaker 12: dollars to do exactly what this gentleman is talking about.
• 22:32
Speaker 12: She's going to give them some locations like around job
• 22:37
Speaker 12: Corp area, maybe cross Lane, Sissonville, and maybe the eastern
• 22:40
Speaker 12: part of the county. And I would love to know
• 22:42
Speaker 12: where this gentleman will has his thirty acres and what
• 22:47
Speaker 12: this study is doing. He's what this engineer is evaluating
• 22:51
Speaker 12: is what kind of infrastructure is there, how close it
• 22:55
Speaker 12: is it to utilities, like anybody does you know? How
• 22:57
Speaker 12: much more is that going to cost us? Some of
• 23:00
Speaker 12: the roads that are available.
• 23:02
Speaker 7: He will help with.
• 23:05
Speaker 12: What permits will be needed, whether it's deep or any
• 23:09
Speaker 12: of those others like that. And then there will be
• 23:12
Speaker 12: this study which I can't wait to see, which I
• 23:14
Speaker 12: think I'm going to even weasel my way in to
• 23:17
Speaker 12: maybe even follow him around. TERRYL said, I might be
• 23:20
Speaker 12: able to do that, and then we're gonna we're gonna
• 23:22
Speaker 12: shop this study around to housing development folks in either Lexington, Richmond, Columbus,
• 23:29
Speaker 12: or the eastern part of the county. So when this
• 23:32
Speaker 12: gentleman says, you know, can you tell us how much
• 23:34
Speaker 12: my thirty acres are worth? I can't tell you that,
• 23:37
Speaker 12: and he won't be able to do that. He's not
• 23:39
Speaker 12: an appraiser in those terms. He will be saying, this
• 23:43
Speaker 12: is what you can tell a developer because apparently, and
• 23:47
Speaker 12: see as I'm learning, we don't have that many developers
• 23:50
Speaker 12: who and who will come and look at something like
• 23:55
Speaker 12: you had Megan Tenney on maybe a couple months about
• 23:58
Speaker 12: about the six hundred homes.
• 24:00
Speaker 7: Is that the right number?
• 24:01
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think, and that's what they estimate that that's needed.
• 24:04
Speaker 12: Right, Well, we know we know that that's that's needed
• 24:06
Speaker 12: in Kanawha County too, but we we want to get
• 24:10
Speaker 12: developers and we want more than one developer because what
• 24:14
Speaker 12: happens then competition is a is a wonderful trup.
• 24:17
Speaker 7: So that's what we're going to do.
• 24:19
Speaker 12: And for this gentleman, you can email me at Natalie
• 24:22
  Speaker 12: tennant n A t A l I E T E
• 24:25
  Speaker 12: N n A and t at Kanawa dot U S
• 24:29
Speaker 12: and please send me that information. So then maybe maybe
• 24:33
Speaker 12: some of your thirty acres are near somewhere, but that's
• 24:36
Speaker 12: that's exactly what we need. And there are some folks
• 24:38
Speaker 12: now you need to be downtown. Well maybe we just
• 24:41
Speaker 12: need everywhere and I'm still talking, but I'm so excited
• 24:44
Speaker 12: about this because I just saw that generation in West
• 24:47
Speaker 12: Virginia is having a I don't know, some kind of
• 24:51
Speaker 12: workshop coming up on May eighth, And while I don't
• 24:54
Speaker 12: think housing is on their agenda, I'm going to go
• 24:57
Speaker 12: and ask some of those younger generation people what kind
• 25:01
Speaker 12: of homes do you want? Because the average home that
• 25:05
Speaker 12: was built in Kanaha County or Kannaw Valley the region
• 25:08
Speaker 12: is nineteen fifty six, even before both you and I
• 25:11
  Speaker 12: were born.
• 25:12
  Speaker 7: Yeah, so we.
• 25:13
Speaker 12: Know that either they're going to have to be renovated
• 25:17
Speaker 12: or you know, if they're really preserved, but maybe you
• 25:20
Speaker 12: want some contemporary homes.
• 25:22
Speaker 4: Also talked again with Canaan County Comission Natalie Tendant to
• 25:25
Speaker 4: the Dave Allen showing five Dyeline Brownshoe part by Morgan Morgan,
• 25:28
Speaker 4: America's largest injury law firm. Let's talk spring clean up.
• 25:31
Speaker 4: We've already had I think one of those that was held,
• 25:35
Speaker 4: or maybe two, and there's more counting talking about.
• 25:37
Speaker 7: One back that the county did. I know that the
• 25:40
Speaker 7: city did some too.
• 25:41
Speaker 12: So the County was out at Cabin Creek along that
• 25:45
Speaker 12: road behind the Go Mart. It's like the head of
• 25:47
Speaker 12: Cabin Creek and behind there.
• 25:51
Speaker 7: I don't know how to describe it.
• 25:53
Speaker 12: You know, I'm fascinated by a lot of things. It
• 25:56
Speaker 12: was so well organized. Tom blasting him are planning. He
• 26:03
Speaker 12: won't take credit for it necessarily because it's we've been
• 26:06
Speaker 12: doing spring cleaning forever.
• 26:08
Speaker 7: It's so well organized.
• 26:09
Speaker 12: There is a line a mile long, people bringing in beds, beds, refrigerators, dishwashers,
• 26:18
Speaker 12: all kinds of things and boats. I have video that
• 26:21
Speaker 12: I'm going to post this week. How do you throw
• 26:22
Speaker 12: away a boat? And it's just it's so well organized.
• 26:26
Speaker 12: I was fascinated. They have the dump trucks lined up,
• 26:29
Speaker 12: they have people just driving through. Some people rent U
• 26:32
Speaker 12: hauls and pickup trucks to bring it through. So that
• 26:35
Speaker 12: was a couple of weeks ago in Cavin Creek. The
• 26:37
Speaker 12: next one is Saturday in Sissonville and it's at Everybody
• 26:42
Speaker 12: says the Rodney Loft is property. Well, that Rodney Loft
• 26:45
Speaker 12: is property was I was up there with the dad
• 26:47
Speaker 12: one time and he had a four wheeling motorcycle show.
• 26:52
Speaker 7: So it's right, it's close. You'll find it.
• 26:53
Speaker 4: There'll be a lot of people and there's the information
• 26:55
Speaker 4: always posted on the social media of the exactly.
• 26:58
Speaker 12: Megan does a great job building information out there. So yeah,
• 27:02
Speaker 12: and that's just fascinating to watch.
• 27:04
  Speaker 3: Indeed.
• 27:05
Speaker 4: Uh so, uh, let's talk about the legislative session. Anything
• 27:08
Speaker 4: in particularly that you were looking at when the legislative session.
• 27:11
Speaker 4: I know, because I know a lot of county commissioners were,
• 27:13
Speaker 4: oh yeah, there were some I mean, well, you folks
• 27:14
Speaker 4: are always watching the legislature, but I know that when
• 27:17
Speaker 4: it came to talk about micro grids and things of
• 27:20
Speaker 4: that nature, that there was there were some counties that
• 27:23
Speaker 4: were a little concerned and some development authorities that were
• 27:27
Speaker 4: a little little concerned about that. What did you watch?
• 27:30
Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, the micro grid. I learned a lot about
• 27:33
Speaker 12: that in like a week's period. But you're right, Jefferson
• 27:38
Speaker 12: or Berkeley County was really kind of leading the way
• 27:40
Speaker 12: because they have something already set in place, and that
• 27:44
Speaker 12: first part of the bill came back. It gave the
• 27:46
Speaker 12: counties nothing zero, and it's like, we're going to be
• 27:50
Speaker 12: responsible for all of the the you know, emergency services
• 27:54
Speaker 12: and the things like that. Now, a micro a data
• 27:57
Speaker 12: center is you know, there are two different things. A
• 27:59
Speaker 12: data center that my gro grit is where the power
• 28:01
Speaker 12: comes from to power the data center. But it's like, okay, yeah,
• 28:05
Speaker 12: you're going to build it. You don't have many jobs
• 28:07
Speaker 12: after that, but you certainly have the tax money. Well,
• 28:09
Speaker 12: they were going to take all the tax money from
• 28:11
Speaker 12: the county, which we were kind of what we were
• 28:14
Speaker 12: fighting for to make sure we got some.
• 28:16
Speaker 7: So that was what I was watching.
• 28:19
Speaker 12: It turns out that the county that has the data
• 28:22
Speaker 12: center will get thirty percent of the revenue from there,
• 28:26
Speaker 12: and then ten percent will be spread among the fifty
• 28:28
Speaker 12: five counties after that. So that worked out a little
• 28:32
Speaker 12: bit better. And you know, there's still a question of
• 28:35
Speaker 12: what will a data center look like. There's five hundred
• 28:38
Speaker 12: some in Virginia. I'm going to be making a trip.
• 28:40
Speaker 12: I need to go see what they look like and
• 28:43
Speaker 12: how it will impact. We know we want revenue that's
• 28:46
Speaker 12: going to fund many of the things to improve our county,
• 28:49
Speaker 12: whether housing or things like that. So I was watching that,
• 28:54
Speaker 12: and of course, you know, elections are important to me
• 28:58
Speaker 12: because of what I do kind of on the side
• 29:00
Speaker 12: as a voting rights expert. But like a hundred and
• 29:04
Speaker 12: some election bills were introduced. I say, thankfully only eight
• 29:09
Speaker 12: of them were passed. Some of them not so good.
• 29:12
Speaker 12: But one good that the kanau County Commission was pushing
• 29:15
Speaker 12: was when you go to early vote and you change
• 29:18
Speaker 12: your address. Previously that ballot was a provisional ballot, meaning
• 29:24
Speaker 12: it had to be waited to be counted afterward. Well,
• 29:26
Speaker 12: you change your address during early voting, it will be
• 29:29
Speaker 12: counted that night. So that was pushed by our attorneys,
• 29:32
Speaker 12: Mark and Chris from the Kanawuk County Commission, and that
• 29:35
Speaker 12: was a positive one that we were following. And it's
• 29:37
Speaker 12: so funny that I just told you guys as I
• 29:40
Speaker 12: was walking in Kayla walking out, I'm like, oh, Kayla,
• 29:42
Speaker 12: I had a dream about you last night. I had
• 29:43
Speaker 12: a dream the night before that I was appointed as
• 29:46
Speaker 12: a House of Delegates member. Then I had a dream
• 29:49
Speaker 12: I was appointed as Secretary of State, and I was like, no, no,
• 29:51
Speaker 12: I'm doing I gotta do this County Commission because I
• 29:54
Speaker 12: love the hands on and the economic development that I
• 29:57
Speaker 12: am learning how to do, and this is housing development.
• 30:02
Speaker 12: I want to turn this twelve thousand dollars that I
• 30:05
Speaker 12: promise my co commissioners would be for a good into
• 30:10
Speaker 12: what we're going to see maybe in a couple of years,
• 30:12
Speaker 12: people moving in well, we.
• 30:13
Speaker 4: Let you go and we'll talk about something fun in summer.
• 30:16
Speaker 7: Yes, I promised to make that lifeguard.
• 30:19
Speaker 4: Yes, all right, talk about.
• 30:21
Speaker 12: That please if if you want to be a lifeguard
• 30:25
Speaker 12: or you want to renew a lifeguard. We need lifeguards
• 30:27
Speaker 12: for Shawnee Park and for the county. And guess what
• 30:30
Speaker 12: the county will pay for your recertification or your certification.
• 30:34
Speaker 12: So it's an opportunity to be a public servant. I mean,
• 30:37
Speaker 12: think about it. It's getting warm out there. Nobody better
• 30:40
Speaker 12: complain about the warrant. Guys, I will not but go
• 30:44
Speaker 12: to the pool only if you have a lifeguard who
• 30:47
Speaker 12: we need you to work at fifteen dollars an hour.
• 30:50
Speaker 12: That's a great deal and your certification is paid for.
• 30:53
Speaker 12: So please come be a public servant as a lifeguard.
• 30:55
Speaker 4: All right? What else is on your mind? Where we
• 30:57
Speaker 4: let you go? I mean we've covered a lot here today.
• 30:58
Speaker 4: Is there anything in particular?
• 31:00
  Speaker 7: Virgil Tate?
• 31:00
Speaker 12: I would like to you know, there are so many
• 31:03
Speaker 12: things going on at the camp and we're going to
• 31:07
Speaker 12: be starting up, you know, in addition to getting the
• 31:10
Speaker 12: funding back into place from the county, we're doing fundraisers
• 31:14
  Speaker 12: and I know I'm a formal.
• 31:15
  Speaker 7: I guess you're always a format four h R.
• 31:17
Speaker 12: I think come help us raise money and ask your
• 31:21
Speaker 12: friends to donate five five hundred, five thousand. You know,
• 31:26
Speaker 12: and your very rich friends can even donate a lot more.
• 31:29
Speaker 7: We don't have those, dude.
• 31:31
Speaker 4: But you know, yes, always please jav on the show,
• 31:34
  Speaker 4: thank you.
• 31:34
  Speaker 7: This is great.

• 34:30
Speaker 4: Yeah, well just wait, do we learn how to operate everything,

  Speaker 3: Nice, it's it's not.

• 34:59
  Speaker 4: All right?
• 35:01
  Speaker 3: Is that enough?
• 35:02
  Speaker 9: Yeah?
• 35:02
  Speaker 3: I mean it's an enthusiastic.
• 35:05
Speaker 4: What do you think about the session? I know you
• 35:07
  Speaker 4: watch things.
• 35:10
Speaker 3: I thought that everybody had a little learning curve. I
• 35:14
  Speaker 3: thought that.
• 35:14
Speaker 4: Says to be the prevailing opinion what most people y said.
• 35:17
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, you you have one third of the
• 35:19
Speaker 3: state Senate that was new. You had a new Senate president.
• 35:25
Speaker 3: You had a new governor who has a totally different
• 35:30
Speaker 3: leadership style than the former governor. You had new leadership
• 35:35
Speaker 3: in the governor's office, you had new cabinet members, and
• 35:42
Speaker 3: you only have remember they put you know, you postponed
• 35:46
Speaker 3: the session by thirty days when the governor comes in,
• 35:50
Speaker 3: when new governor comes in, and you know, it's not
• 35:52
Speaker 3: a lot of time. Sixty days is not a lot
• 35:55
Speaker 3: of time for everybody to get ready. I think the
• 36:00
Speaker 3: governor did an excellent job. I thought his agenda was
• 36:04
Speaker 3: progressive in a good way, you know what I mean.
• 36:09
Speaker 3: You can't use that term. It's got a lot of meetings.
• 36:12
Speaker 3: But anyway, I thought it was very out of the park.
• 36:18
  Speaker 2: I.
• 36:20
  Speaker 11: You know.
• 36:21
Speaker 3: And the other thing is is you have to remember
• 36:23
Speaker 3: these are these are human beings from different walks of life.
• 36:26
Speaker 3: One hundred and thirty four. Uh, some of them you
• 36:28
Speaker 3: kind of question that, but I know, I know, But
• 36:31
Speaker 3: bless their hearts. You know, they spend sixty days away
• 36:35
Speaker 3: from their families and instead of just you know, wearing
• 36:39
Speaker 3: them out on our new wear out things social media.
• 36:44
Speaker 3: You know, give them a little credit, give them a
• 36:46
Speaker 3: little credit for trying that. There's not a there's there
• 36:49
Speaker 3: isn't one person down there who doesn't want the best
• 36:52
Speaker 3: for West Virginia now. And it's a political process, which
• 36:57
Speaker 3: means people, people, one hundred and thirty four different people,
• 37:01
Speaker 3: and the governor may or may not have a different
• 37:04
Speaker 3: idea about how to get there and then and then
• 37:06
Speaker 3: you have you know, you have a little bit of
• 37:08
Speaker 3: the opposing party that weighs in and actually had some
• 37:11
Speaker 3: successes during the session. So uh, you know, instead of criticizing,
• 37:17
Speaker 3: you know, it's easy, it's easy to criticize the gladiators.
• 37:20
Speaker 3: It's hard to be the gladiator. So you know, let's
• 37:23
Speaker 3: be a little bit positive here. I think I think
• 37:25
Speaker 3: it's only going to get better. I think I.
• 37:27
Speaker 4: Talked about this on the shows in the past, Rusty,
• 37:32
Speaker 4: it was a learning curve. I mean, as a delicate
• 37:35
Speaker 4: Young said earlier, they had a bunch of new members
• 37:37
Speaker 4: in a new governor. But with all due respect to
• 37:40
Speaker 4: the previous governor, I mean, he wasn't around a lot.
• 37:43
Speaker 4: Now I'm not saying these people weren't around, but he wasn't.
• 37:45
Speaker 4: He wasn't his hands on governor. Morrisey is going to
• 37:49
Speaker 4: be a hands on type governor. We saw the first
• 37:51
Speaker 4: lady uh there at the capitol a lot as as well.
• 37:55
Speaker 4: So it's a different style all together.
• 37:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, and what I mean, that's what I said, two
• 38:02
Speaker 3: different leadership styles, and and uh, you know, maybe they're
• 38:07
Speaker 3: you know, for eight years, they're not accustomed to the
• 38:10
Speaker 3: governor calling them on their cell phone, you know what
• 38:12
Speaker 3: I mean? Because again, Governor Justice had a sort of delegation,
• 38:16
Speaker 3: hands off, let the legislature do, and Governor Morsey has
• 38:21
Speaker 3: a more direct approach. So you know, everybody, like I said, yeah,
• 38:28
Speaker 3: you just have to have a little transition time. You know,
• 38:31
Speaker 3: it's not there's nothing wrong with it. It just has
• 38:34
  Speaker 3: to happen.
• 38:35
Speaker 4: Do you think Nelly get Young alluded to this early
• 38:37
Speaker 4: and other people's have two ristue that maybe West Virginia
• 38:41
Speaker 4: should at least look at maybe not have a legislature,
• 38:44
Speaker 4: not meet every year, maybe every other year. The problem
• 38:47
Speaker 4: with that is is that when the House is that
• 38:49
Speaker 4: they have new you know, they have election every two years.
• 38:51
Speaker 4: So I mean, are you going to be there? I
• 38:53
Speaker 4: guess if you did it every two years, would the
• 38:55
Speaker 4: session be in non election years? I guess? But I mean,
• 38:59
Speaker 4: where are you on that?
• 39:00
  Speaker 16: You know?
• 39:00
  Speaker 3: I'm not, you know, I'm I'd like to do a
• 39:03
Speaker 3: unicameral government one of our states, which one is it?
• 39:07
Speaker 3: One of our states has one? Uh? Of course it's
• 39:10
Speaker 3: not going to happen, but yeah, every two years? Why yeah,
• 39:13
Speaker 3: every two years? Limited government, right, limited government, less government.
• 39:19
  Speaker 4: It's Nebraska, that's right, Webraska.
• 39:22
  Speaker 3: That's right.
• 39:22
  Speaker 4: I knew t J wouldn't know that, thanks Ryan.
• 39:24
Speaker 3: And I knew it when I walked in here, you know.
• 39:26
Speaker 3: And when you walk in and you say it, you
• 39:28
Speaker 3: better be ready to know the state.
• 39:30
Speaker 4: But people get dumber when they're they come in the

• 39:55
Speaker 3: Acause you threw it out there? And uh, as a
• 39:59
Speaker 3: matter of fact, what's going to be my lead today?
• 40:01
Speaker 3: Was let's fight? Or what how we say in Eastern Kentucky?
• 40:04
Speaker 3: Let's fight? I said, you said something about he's my
• 40:09
Speaker 3: man and I'll fight you for it, and I said,
• 40:10
  Speaker 3: let's fight.
• 40:11
Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. On Friday, I was leaving
• 40:14
Speaker 4: the office and Danny was walking down the street with
• 40:16
Speaker 4: his new dog, Duke, and I just kind of rolled
• 40:19
Speaker 4: down the window and I said, hey, Danny, and I
• 40:21
Speaker 4: took a picture of him and I posted on social.
• 40:22
Speaker 3: Media and he didn't like my description of it. I said,
• 40:25
Speaker 3: look like Sasquat. You know, he had that kind of
• 40:27
Speaker 3: arm thing that sasquatch, remember the old video of Sasquat.
• 40:31
Speaker 3: And he didn't like that. And I said, you know,
• 40:33
Speaker 3: the elusive Danny Joe. He never get a fixture.
• 40:37
Speaker 4: Well you just got He's out walking in town a lot.
• 40:41
Speaker 4: You just gotta look quim, all right, So let me.
• 40:42
Speaker 3: Looks on your side. He never breaks it over to
• 40:44
  Speaker 3: my side.
• 40:45
Speaker 4: I want to talk about, Uh, let's go National for
• 40:48
Speaker 4: a moment. Yeah you've been following, I'm sure. Uh, well,
• 40:52
Speaker 4: let's say National with a West Virginia slant here. Let's
• 40:55
Speaker 4: talk about the way talk about Let's talk about the
• 40:57
Speaker 4: Riley Moore situation. Congressman Riley Moore. Yeah, for the picture
• 41:01
Speaker 4: at the prison in El Salvador. He was on the
• 41:03
Speaker 4: show with Wilson and Meadows on Friday defending that picture.
• 41:07
Speaker 4: A lot of people upset about it. Uh, poor taste,
• 41:12
Speaker 4: whatever the case may be. Where's Rusty on that?
• 41:15
Speaker 3: Rusty is going to invoke Ronald Reagan's eleventh commandment, never
• 41:21
Speaker 3: criticize a fellow Republican. That's That's where I'm going to stand.
• 41:25
Speaker 4: Okay, and you're just leaving it there. Would you have
• 41:28
Speaker 4: if you were if you were Riley Moore? Would you
• 41:30
  Speaker 4: have done that?
• 41:34
Speaker 3: I'm going to invoke the eleventh commandment of Ronald Reagan
• 41:38
Speaker 3: say that I'm never going to criticize a.
• 41:40
Speaker 4: Fair enough, fair enough All right? What do you think
• 41:42
Speaker 4: about Doze and all of the uh the the stuff's
• 41:46
Speaker 4: going on with Trump?
• 41:47
Speaker 3: I love it. I love it. It's well well over time,
• 41:51
Speaker 3: and it's not it's not just Democrats who apparently screwed
• 41:56
Speaker 3: this country up. It's former Republicans. I guess I just
• 41:59
Speaker 3: broke my on the commandment we did mention my name,
• 42:02
Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean this this country needs a clean up,
• 42:08
Speaker 3: big time clean up on all three and they're doing it.
• 42:12
  Speaker 4: What about it?
• 42:12
Speaker 3: We just we spend way too much money and we
• 42:16
Speaker 3: tax way too much, and Doze, to me, is a
• 42:19
Speaker 3: way to get get us back on some kind of reasonable,
• 42:25
Speaker 3: uh you know, reasonable grounds.
• 42:28
Speaker 4: It's just well, what about not what about the cuts
• 42:31
Speaker 4: to West Virginia Niosh, for example in Morgantown.
• 42:33
Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing, here's the thing. And post offices
• 42:39
Speaker 3: have always been a historical example of this. Everybody wants
• 42:42
Speaker 3: cuts until it happens in their backyard, and they don't
• 42:45
Speaker 3: want cuts, right, So historically post office little tiny's post
• 42:51
Speaker 3: offices around the country have been named for cuts all
• 42:55
Speaker 3: the time, all the time. You know, you're paying someone
• 42:58
Speaker 3: I don't know, seven thousand dollars a year to run
• 43:01
Speaker 3: a post office that has five people in it, right,
• 43:04
Speaker 3: and so Congress, you know, let's cut the little we
• 43:07
Speaker 3: don't need it in this technology. And then what happens.
• 43:10
Speaker 3: Every Congressman steps up and says, not in my backyard,
• 43:13
Speaker 3: not in my backyard, and so we never cut. So,
• 43:18
Speaker 3: you know, it's you can't say you want cuts and
• 43:25
Speaker 3: then say you can't have them in your back door.
• 43:29
Speaker 3: You just can't do it. And I believe that government
• 43:33
Speaker 3: needs to be right sized, both in West Virginia and
• 43:37
Speaker 3: particularly in the federal government. It's just what I think.
• 43:42
Speaker 3: I don't know if they understand or don't appreciate, or
• 43:45
Speaker 3: they're just hardened to their political sides, is this. If
• 43:51
Speaker 3: we don't do something, this economy as big as it
• 43:55
Speaker 3: is is going to implode. It is absolute that we
• 43:58
Speaker 3: cannot continue to carry tree to debt. We can't. We can't.
• 44:02
Speaker 3: So if you want, you weren't around in nineteen twenty eight,
• 44:05
Speaker 3: and neither was I. But if you want a major depression,
• 44:09
Speaker 3: let things continue the way they've been going for the last,
• 44:12
Speaker 3: you know whatever, seventy years.
• 44:15
Speaker 4: We got to take a break. Hang out with me

• 47:28
Speaker 4: Congressman Riley Moore this time, but about the situation in general.
• 47:32
Speaker 4: You're an attorney by trade. When you see what's going on,
• 47:36
Speaker 4: there are many people that would say that despite the fact,
• 47:40
Speaker 4: and again you can argue back and forth over whether
• 47:42
Speaker 4: this Garcia, whether he was a gang member, whether he
• 47:44
Speaker 4: was this, or whether he was that. There's questions about
• 47:47
Speaker 4: the constitutionality of taking people even and once around American soil.
• 47:53
Speaker 4: I mean, the way I read it is that they
• 47:55
Speaker 4: are supposed to be protected in process, some due process.
• 47:58
Speaker 4: You're an attorney, take.
• 48:02
Speaker 3: They should be afforded due process? They should be Yeah,
• 48:05
  Speaker 3: I mean, I'll never I mean I pretty much swore
• 48:08
Speaker 3: an oath to the Constitution when I became a lawyer.
• 48:11
Speaker 3: So yeah, they should be afforded due process.
• 48:13
Speaker 4: Do you think it's interesting that that a lot of
• 48:15
Speaker 4: conservatives preach the Constitution the Constitution? Uh, but they don't
• 48:22
Speaker 4: want this gentleman to have constitutional rights.
• 48:25
Speaker 3: Yes, it is interesting. I will say that.
• 48:27
Speaker 4: I mean you can say, well, I need.
• 48:29
Speaker 3: To keep invoking them.
• 48:32
Speaker 4: No, not at all. No, I'm just saying. I'm just saying, look,
• 48:35
Speaker 4: this may be a bad dude, and he may be,
• 48:37
  Speaker 4: but but.
• 48:38
Speaker 3: And he's entitled, and he's entitled to You.
• 48:41
Speaker 4: Can't just throw out the Constitution because somebody is a
• 48:43
  Speaker 4: bad guy.
• 48:44
Speaker 3: He's entitled to due process. Yeah, I'll give you.
• 48:46
Speaker 16: That, Rusty. You would be surprised. I have received hundreds
• 48:49
Speaker 16: of emails and direct messages since I wrote a commentary
• 48:53
Speaker 16: last week saying exactly what you just saw.
• 48:55
Speaker 3: I read your I read all of your.
• 48:56
Speaker 16: Articles, and uh, folks are rate with me suggesting that
• 49:01
Speaker 16: that any non American citizen should have due process.
• 49:04
Speaker 4: That's the constitution. I me, you want to change the constitution,
• 49:06
Speaker 4: change the constitution, but that's but that's where it is.
• 49:09
Speaker 3: And I don't know why they just, you know, don't
• 49:11
Speaker 3: set up some tribunal to just you know, do it,
• 49:16
Speaker 3: you know, just just have the hearing. Have the hearing,
• 49:21
Speaker 3: like the call, we're gonna We're gonna give them a
• 49:24
Speaker 3: fair trial before we hang them.
• 49:25
Speaker 4: Right, Texas. The post office example was a really bad one.
• 49:29
Speaker 4: The post Office, even though regulated by the government, is
• 49:31
Speaker 4: not funded with tax may or money and hasn't been
• 49:33
  Speaker 4: since nineteen seventy.
• 49:40
  Speaker 3: I don't think that's true. I mean that they're supposed
• 49:42
Speaker 3: to be self supporting, but they run their budget the
• 49:45
Speaker 3: budget of the US and I'll look it up, but
• 49:49
Speaker 3: we we it has to be subsidized. It run. It's
• 49:53
Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that the postal service runs and all
• 49:57
Speaker 3: my Poe, my guy delivers my mail is gonna correct
• 50:00
Speaker 3: me today. But yeah, it has to be subsidized. It's
• 50:06
Speaker 3: it loses money. The US Postal Service loses money every year.
• 50:11
Speaker 3: Has to be has to be.
• 50:12
Speaker 4: Uh, Texas, Hey, Dave, you forgot to ask Natalie about
• 50:15
Speaker 4: Congressman Moore's thumbs up, you ask everybody else. Well, we
• 50:18
Speaker 4: were trying to keep it primarily on the state and
• 50:20
Speaker 4: local level with the with the county Commissioner Natalie Tenant.
• 50:24
Speaker 4: Uh Tex says, Uh, he shouldn't have been in the
• 50:26
Speaker 4: US in the first place. Well, and that that may
• 50:30
Speaker 4: be true, that but that may be true. But once
• 50:32
  Speaker 4: he's here, he's in. I'm sorry. I didn't write the constitution.
• 50:35
Speaker 4: I'm old, but I'm not that old. Once he's here,
• 50:38
Speaker 4: he's entitled to do process. That's that's what the law is.
• 50:42
Speaker 4: Let me ask you about Trump before we before we
• 50:44
Speaker 4: go here. I said on the Metro News midday show
• 50:47
Speaker 4: once before that I don't think there's anything that Trump
• 50:49
Speaker 4: could do that would turn West Virginia against him. Agree, disagree,
• 50:53
Speaker 4: somewhere in the middle.
• 50:54
Speaker 3: I agree, yeah, I agree. There's nothing he could do
• 50:58
Speaker 3: to turn West Virginia against.
• 51:00
Speaker 4: Him, nothing at all. Because I because I agree with
• 51:03
Speaker 4: you with what I'm saying that what.
• 51:05
Speaker 3: Was the what was the adage? There used to be
• 51:08
Speaker 3: an adage in politics as long as you didn't get
• 51:12
Speaker 3: caught in bed with.
• 51:13
Speaker 4: Its Now easy. I know where you're going with that.
• 51:17
Speaker 4: Uh And I got two shows to get fired from now,
• 51:20
Speaker 4: So don't somebody any boy of friends. Yeah, but we
• 51:23
  Speaker 4: know what.
• 51:23
  Speaker 3: The old school.
• 51:25
Speaker 4: Yeah you went old you went what a really old
• 51:27
Speaker 4: school there? So all right?
• 51:29
  Speaker 12: Uh?
• 51:29
Speaker 4: TJ. Meadows is here, Rusty hanging out with me? One second, TJ,
• 51:32
Speaker 4: give me a preview what's going on in talk line today.
• 51:34
Speaker 16: Well, first off, he could stand in the middle of
• 51:35
Speaker 16: Mountain Deerfield and say Pepperoni rolls suck and still win
• 51:38
Speaker 16: fifty five percent of the vote.
• 51:39
Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean, you know the answers if you
• 51:41
Speaker 4: said Pepperoni rolls suck and in Country Rose is a
• 51:44
Speaker 4: dumb song, West Virginia still wouldn't turn against No, not
• 51:47
