- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, and welcome back to your one and only source.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're your hosts.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Phoebe.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Caroline and today we are going to be recapping season one episode six of Gossip Girl called the Handmaiden's Tale.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: I just had quite a moment of like OMG.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Cause six feels crazy.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think it feels like we've been doing this long.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I had a moment of fear like did I do the math wrong?
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: Did I imagine because also I had been watching gossip grow with mom a little bit What were my episodes?
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: I like where they mixed up on my nutflegs.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: I was watching on mom and dad's nutflegs Oh, I was home and now I'm back Anyway, I was stressed, but here's what I'll say.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is one of my favorite gossip grow episodes
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, the way you feel about the sleepover one last week, I think is how when I first watched gossip grow, that's how I felt about it.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Is it?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think it's because Vanessa, because my favorite is introduced to us is that that has got to have something to do with it, it's at well in a little bit maybe because she but it's because she's completely
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like, because it's not like a, she's having a good time in the episode.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: If you be loves, if you be lovesing other women, hating their lives.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's just like, that is actually a good goal to feel like she's not hating her life because she's just so happy to be back in the city.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: Well, she's so happy.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then she's like, God, I freaking hate these people.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I hate to say like this, but there's a reason that Dan Humphrey is interested in both Vanessa and Serena.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: They have more in common than they may choose to believe, okay, but yeah, I mean, guys, we found our area We and it's funny because there are moments where I'm like we already had our area like Serena has so much of area in her And the parts that she doesn't have luckily Vanessa comes in and makes up for those pretty much immediately like
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the two of them on screen together.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Hello.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, I'm on comery.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just watched the episode where Toby's revealed to be A and we're rewatching the show with I'm rewatching it with bracket.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like she's never seen it.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: And, um,
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I got that episode and it's the episode I forgot how much hop in my brain the toe how much hop in the toe the toe be a reveal is like it's a different ending to yeah this up like that's a different episode because this is the episode where Nate kisses Emily yeah and it's the episode where they go to the lighthouse and he kidnaps page and then Caleb is a
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's Emily's last few moments before she's a stone-cold killer murderer.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to ask if I may.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then the end of the episode is Toby walking Mona back to Radley and turning around.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: And it's also the episode that Spencer loses her virginity, famously.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus, Spencer is so into the bad boy.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: She was like, I thought you were a bad boy before.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's why I was NGO.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Then I found out you were kind of like a golden retriever, and I was like,
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then I found out you were on the 18, and I was like, give me more of that.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're not came from, please.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Another thing that I was in this episode is, Arya, I think I couldn't believe this.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: When we sort of start to find out that Malcolm exists, like Ezra, and how to give someone, and like your favorite storyline.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Ezra thinks that it was taking care of and like, all this stuff.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: And so what does Arya do?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like reasons like this that were like, hey, maybe this relationship wasn't wasn't actually for the end wasn't actually on-game, you know what I mean?
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's really good.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's like like, whoop, it can be scratched me out a little bit.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, if you guys have been listening to the pretty little podcast, our first podcast, if this, if this didn't wet your appetite, I don't really know what will happen.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: The way that we're about to talk about Vanessa is how we talked about Arya.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for if you're like I need more of this and also like let's just be clear we've had kind of a rocky like start to You're one and only source just in like life throwing things at us that were unavoidable Yeah, I'm sorry about that.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: We scheduled a little bit.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: I um I didn't have Wi-Fi for a week and I felt like you know those pictures of Kim Which she did her her pure tin
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: photo shoot, of course, of course, of course, of course, of course, of course, of course, of course, of course, of course.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Well, well, then I'm sure you fall in my his end, because Phoebe kind of loves.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: She's, I, I would be willing to bat you were like, and I made my own candles out of like, Merro, and I was just like reading a book by the candlelight, and I have to tell you, it is so much better than like the man made light that comes from the light bulbs.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, I don't use the big light, but even my lamps, I'm just like, oh my god, like, it's way too
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, but I got my wife I all hooked up.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there was crazy stuff in my wall.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: They had to sort out But it's all cut and resolved.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: There was a bunch of clocks in Phoebe's wall And it was like
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, how did they get here?
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Phoebe, we're like Phoebe.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: How did these get here?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Phoebe, Phoebe, answer us.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: The workers were like Phoebe, we've never met you, but you have some experience playing in today.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: And they call it the police and the police were like Phoebe explain the clocks in your role.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And Phoebe was like, oh, I don't, I nervous to tell you.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: How they really got here and the police were like here, come in with us.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: So we are recording this episode Phoebe's in a holding cell.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay, like at least they let you.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: That's why she has Wi-Fi now.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't actually answer how she got the Wi-Fi.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: She didn't jail and they Wi-Fi there.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, and then gone away.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's all coffee from infinity came and got me all hooked up.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Coffee is name is coffee.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Epic.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Not the first coffee I've met.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Not the first coffee I've met either.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of crazy.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we're here.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so anyway, the episode we're doing today.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: No, I agree and see what you mean with this being one of your favorites.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think one of the reasons it can't be like so hardcore my favorites because they're just quite frankly not enough Blair for my liking.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: There is not an uplayer.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Blair is like waiting waiting waiting all night and I'm like can some of my attention to my girl please?
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: But also, I feel like this is like the golden age of gossip girl when I probably bought this episode also on iTunes because like there are a couple titles that I just like see in my head all the time and this is one of them.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I don't know.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: it's it's a good one.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: So let's just get into it.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: We begin with an opening montage of like royal paintings and photos of royal team and Hattens elite as they're all like at balls throughout history.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: And we are preparing for our own ball, a masquerade ball, and Jenny Humphrey is playing the handmaiden to Blair.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: So she's like out doing chores for Blair, all that.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: And Jenny is picking up all of the dresses and she sees that there's five dresses and she thinks, oh my god, I'm like Jenny, I'm getting a freaking invite I think it's crazy that she even went there.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know these girls.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: Me too.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know these girls, they're kind of like pushing your luck a little bit like you've gotten a lot already.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know exactly and you kind of piss flare off like you guys you have it like Blair might be feeling even a little bit Darius A threatened by you at this moment little Jay after you're gonna do the summer party You know what I mean?
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: So like right now you had your moment you had your good moment Blair gave you her like okay little Jay.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: I see you
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Now don't get greedy, you know, now just like do what you're told following line.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, you know, it's probably not what you guys don't meet to hear me said.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: But that's just how what I believe.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: But so Jenny is at this shop picking up the dresses and the guy at the shop is like, oh, we'll hear like, are you going to be going to the dance, too?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Jenny's like, um, I don't think for this question.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's gross.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny, the answer is no.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: the answer's a firm and how he and I wish the guy would have just had that hate by the way I could kind of tell I could smell it on you that you thought you might get in my no one lets you know don't get your hopes up I know these girls like that's what he should have said but instead it's like are you trying to start world-worthy are you trying to start drum why are you doing this man Blair
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: We're all for the layer.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's probably an episode.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe one of the episodes.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: So boy, he gives Johnny this like diamond bracelet and he's like, and when you're invited, you can write this and we're going to put it on Blair's tab and don't worry, she'll never know.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think she's gonna know.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I guess I think she's gonna freaking find out.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's your head, buddy.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's your head and Johnny's head, buddy.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: For real.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: No, this is crazy.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, you don't just trust a teenage girl or anybody, but especially not a teenage girl with a diamond bracelet.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: And you put it on somebody else's head without, it's a diamond bracelet.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: How much does that cost?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: You can just like, willy, nilly throw that on someone's,
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: tab.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: What if something happened to it?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's like you probably have to sign like a fucking release to like walk out of the store with that.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just thinking about how to lose a guy in 10 days and at the frosty or soft party like they've flipped out when she left wearing that necklace.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: I just watched that.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I did too because it's leaving nothing soon.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's why, uh, so good.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: And like the reason I know it's so good is because
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I mean, she commits so hard and it's like ember it's so meta because it's like Kate Hudson's committing so hard to Andy, but then Andy is committing so hard to being and it's like Literally watching through my fingers like can barely look at this.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like there were certain points where I was like
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, how can she be doing this?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: How?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm like, wow, they're literally has never been another girl like that.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because what do you mean she's so confident?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, I'm hot enough to act like this.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: And like, I guess she had an assignment.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Get it.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what are the odds these two found each other?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: They were both having competing assignments.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's like you guys.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm okay.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: What ladies are leaving me.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's a majorly.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I do love the bar.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Scene where they start talking and they're like, they're like, to hungry?
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Star, I don't know the rest of it, but you know what I was just like the one words.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: when we see Kate Hudson being like Andy in a way what was with everybody being named Andy and these movies also.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it was a pretty being like every P.R.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: girl having like a column and being like, I want more.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I want to write about Lauren's famine.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: Please, have you read about it?
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, sure, we're actually trying to protect you because you're going to write something that's going to get you canceled in 10 years.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe just put the fucking pen down.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Andy, but it also
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: and would kill and would kill for her.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: She's so funny in that movie.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: When they opened the door to go to the therapist office and she's and you see Kate Hudson's like scoosh of a reaction.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, so good.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so fucking good.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just love it so much.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, that's me, the other.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: But one thing I couldn't get out of my head last time I watched really quick is They go in for their first meeting and their bosses like okay, shoes off.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: They're all wearing salados I know your feet are sweating and they smell like no, no, no, and this is why we work remotely now I had a thought that I'd just freaking
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my gosh, I just can't talk over you and now I don't have it anymore.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's completely my fault.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: No, but it was, it was a really fuck, it's gonna like, you know, when you forget something and it's like, it hurts your brain.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, mine like a still drop.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: This happened.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: I've never forgotten anything.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: I've never forgotten the thing.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Always lose your train of thought.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: He read for a film on a freeze.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: What the hell was I going to say?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Second Sunday of the year, I'm being read for a film.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, by a kid's sister, this is absolutely going to.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's just move on.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: All right, well, hey, fuck that bot.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'll let you move.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: If it comes to you, like, and it's not going to be right.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: I lost you can bring us power.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: Are you saying, right before you said, take your shoes off?
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, but all of this to say, you were going to explain sort of why we're talking
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Andy Anderson.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sorry.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't we keep calling her?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Who is Andy Sachs's devil or is that up?
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I was saying of like, oh my god, Andy Anderson would not be happy to hear what I just been.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: What is with all the Andy's?
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I mean.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what a weird.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's because it's like, and they're all in the same jobs.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's like, okay, she could be a boy or a girl exactly, you know, it's like, so they can have the meat queue or someone sees the name written down and they're like, I got to work with this this Wall Street guy and then they go and they're like, oh, my Andy Anderson, I expected you to be wearing three piece suit and have a comb over, not this incredible blowout, like they have the meat queue, you know what I mean?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what I was going to say about things they hear about you is there is no so how does a guy in ten days right there is no girl luckier in the world than a girl with a boyfriend
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: There is, and you heard it here first.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: There is no girl lucky here in the world.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Then a girl with a boy front Hard stop Okay, let me be free is that Because that's not true.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Well, were you adding more to the sentence?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like I pream a bit of a period.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I should have put it before I mentioned.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: with the body to wear that yellow dress on Halloween and a boyfriend who can be Matthew McConaughey.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: In the year 2026, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: I know what you're saying.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just literally actually I'd cut off all 10 of my toes to be.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, do do that.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: To do that couple's costume.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but let me also tell you I'll cut off all 10 of my toes if you ever were.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Before I do what I do.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Even before you will ever see me in it.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, same
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.

- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wrap.

- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Immortans of yellow.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so Serena and Blair are in Blair's room.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: They're talking about the outfits.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Blair is going hardcore with this mask-y raid ball.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: They're wearing custom corsets.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: They've got wigs and Blair has a scavenger hunt plan for Nate tonight.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: And if you find Blair before midnight, he can claim his prize, which obviously is her freaking virginity.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: And should I say something here?
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Can't be normal about it.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: No, and Serena isn't immediately like, so I guess I shouldn't go then, huh?
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's like I'm like hey Serena Blair trying to move on with you.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you keep reminding her that hey if you're trying to lose your virginity Did a night you probably know me anywhere.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I shouldn't even be in a city because you know like once they get to bone her It's gonna point right to me and Blair, I just don't want that for you.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't want that for you You know I love Dan I love Dan, so if it is bone our points right now to go
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so, so then Blair has her She's like, no, no, no, I need your blessing.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you be one of my ladies and waiting to give us a final clue.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's like, that's just a bad idea.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: If I get drunk and I slip and fall and we have sex and make a child, Blair, I shouldn't be the last girl.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: I really shouldn't, it's too tempting and Blair is like, hello, I just want to start over and I trust you and I trust Nate and it's like, big freaking mistake and then she's like in plus you have what's his name?
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: She's a man, but actually, though, I know that you're making a joke about Blair Hating Dan, but I am like, I did think there's a very nice scene.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, you're bringing it down.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, call him and invite him.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: She's like encouraging Serena to invite him.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, we go to the high freeze.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: We go to the loft and Dan and Rufus are like making remarks about the ball and everything because Jenny has come back with everything that she has to bring over to Blair's later.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: journey to be need the pit stop back.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, why did you kind of Brooklyn on the way like this isn't exactly yeah stop along the way.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny though because they're like roof is like wait Dan, you're not going with us, you're girl, you're girly and Dan goes uh it's a masked ball.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure she knows I'd never go to something that pretentious.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: Which shows she knows me well.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: Dan, we go, jump off the virus tape.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: Shut up with that.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then we cut to Serena saying, uh, Dan would never want to go to something that's pretentious.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's why I love him.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, maybe a mast balls better because all the kids from school he hates will be in masks and can't even see them.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: All the kids are in school he freaking hates.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: So Blair is like, no, no, no, no, you should invite him.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so she calls someone and we hear, we go back to the loft.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: We hear dance, phone rang.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it turns out it's not so rain event or what's in.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: But it's Vanessa Abrams calling to see if he still has her copy of the Crying of Lot 49, which I haven't read.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: Have you heard of this book, even?
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: I looked it up today.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a very weird like postmodern book with a lot of like innuendo and commentary and all these things.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's by Thomas Pension.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's how you say his last name.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: And it was also referenced in the O.C.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I just think the showrunners are obsessed with this book for some reason because
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's hooded.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Ryan's hair book.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's like the book that he has in his bag.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is weird because in the O.C.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Paris Hilton says she's writing her um her thesis on it or something in an episode.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, in what in the O.C.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: Paris Hilton's in it?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's like a cameo.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: crazy well I was I was just like it seemed like the book that they would the one singular like beat up book they would put in right words pouch.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah snow totally, but are I not what can't read so anyway Dan goes into his room is like let me go look for your freaking beat up paperback okay and Vanessa's sitting in there.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: Don't do that.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: Hey don't climb through the firescape into somebody's house when they're not experiencing your teenage boy best friends
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Literally, don't do that.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because also, you don't know who's watching and who's going to be like, oh, I could try that.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: This is the nicest loft in Brooklyn.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: I could try that.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows what could be in there.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, it's a treasured trove.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, I got to have this.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: So Vanessa's parents have now said that Vanessa could come to New York, live with her sister, finish high school in the city, and Dan is like not getting the reaction.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: She wants in any way.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: and um she's like I'm back for good which is like a first she's like oh like threat how long are you here and she's like you got a couple hours or what how long do you head back yeah what's up when you get the fuck out of here and then it's phone rings and it's Serena and Vanessa's like oh
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm starving, and I smell awfuls, and she goes up to greet her because this is, she's like I've really didn't know I really did.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's where I really did, as she wants everybody in the house.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: And no, you have a pretty man, she can get her hands on, she'll take it.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: So as Serena calls Dan, we literally hear Blair in the background saying, go ahead, do it.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: Why is Serena so scared to invite him?
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I think you guys just had like a really good day.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: Last episode.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like she's maybe embarrassed that like he will realize like,
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think she wants to kind of keep this part of her life as secret as possible.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, good luck girl.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: Have you heard of gossip girl?
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Serena's like, do you want to hang out?
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like, whatever.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: And it's pretty obvious, even though Dan was doing all his like, himming and honing about how he'd rather be caught dead than be there.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like dying to be invited to this, at which point Vanessa comes in and says that she missed Rupus as cooking and Serena hears the voice.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: And Dan says, it's my sister.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you lie?
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't I don't understand that.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could have just said what it was.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: Because now it's all soft, obviously.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't think Serena would have really felt threatened or given a fuck.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you were like, oh, it's like my friend or it's my family friend.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's like my dad like my cousin.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: We have people over for breakfast.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I guess that's still a lie if you say my cousin.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: But but it's like a similar type of thing.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like I just feel like you could have set it.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: and then Serenia decides not to invite him because Jenny walks in a Blair's room to get another list that was my sister and then Jenny and then Jenny and he walks in.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of the freaking devil, like Jenny where your ear is ringing your butt or what is it burning?
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ice arena just gonna like never be actually good, and that's gonna be part of the joke, and it's just gonna be me We're gonna get out for six seasons.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: What wait at owner?
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: They thank you.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: We go um So Vanessa comes in and lays on Dance bat and says so what are we doing tonight?
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: No one knew you were a round girl.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: He might have plans.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: And Fakti does.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: So Serena's like, I think I need a date.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: And Larry's gonna help out with that in front of Jenny.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: Which is like, Jenny, why didn't you immediately go home?
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, no, Jenny's gone for that.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're right.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, because she left and she tripped over her shoes.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because birds like another list, bitch, don't sit down.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: If you sit down, you might not get back up.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: She sees Jenny fall.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, don't lay down.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_00]: Do not do.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: If I see your ass touch that floor, you're fired and do not cut your breath.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: You shouldn't be out of breath at all time.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: Take a sip of water, cut your breath.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: It'll make it worse.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just telling you.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's like when they're like, you're like running them, you know, when you're running a marathon.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: And thank you, you know, you know that familiar feeling when you're running a marathon and you're like, I can't like stop her water because like if I stop like I'll never start again what is that
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: Phoebe, just let the hell okay.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: A run walk, five.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, it makes more sense.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: Which one are you?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: Runner walk.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I ran.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they didn't have the option for me which was sprinting.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: To be able to have it written on here because I didn't want to make anyone feel about it.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I wasn't actually in the sprinting category.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: What do you see when I turn it over if you look on the back, it says sprinted.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: You were right in big, in big red, Phoebe, is that right in the blood?
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: Phoebe, did you run so fast?
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: You ran over other people and then you wrote that in their blood.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy, that's actually kind of fucked up.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna lie.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, let me go to the Archibald residence.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: Is this our first time really being here?
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome, everyone.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: There's Caroline.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: The captain's upset about his dry cleaning because they allegedly used starch on his shirts.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't like that.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: But what he's really stressed out about is Eleanor Waldorf.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: Tonight, she's having a party and he's like, she has to choose me tonight to take the company public.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_00]: And Nate is like, just listening.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's like, is there anything, Nate needs to remember that he is at the end of the day, 16 years old, Nate is giving Emily fields by the way, standing on my side.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: It was like a kid who just threw up.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's dropping on my parents.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: Nate kind of has an Emily fields nest to a.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, whoa, it's like a good guy Nate.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: Good girl Emily.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_00]: No 100% and Nate's like, Mom, what was that about anything I need to worry about?
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, no, she's like, you're fucking kidding.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_00]: She's a, do your homework, like, I don't know.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus Christ.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let go of her.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: Don't let
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: I love New York, she might as well scream it, I love New York, and do like a spin.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're collecting the favorite throws up in the air.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: I love your y'all!
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: She shakes the chain leak, frets next, or she's like, oh, I love the city!
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah!
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: Flash is the guy's dance, like, chill.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there was an eye-loving New York tattoo right above her boot.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, Dan, Dan, I'm not the same girl I used to be.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Lips up her shirt, shows him her full-ass boob.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: My tattoo perv, my god.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't see like that.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: I made that really clear last time.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: There was a line in the second house made that I just finished.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, as much as I say that I don't like freedom of fattens, writing in that.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: That hate is true.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: The plots.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: Keep them coming.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, they just thought of something so funny.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's been awesome.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Freedom.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: Towards me.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: Freedom of fatten.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: is it what she is?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: She knows.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not calling her fat.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: She's obsessed with fat people.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: She's the way that she there is.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this isn't the line that I was just about to say, but there is a line in the second, like a whole, it's actually a whole page in the second book where we're in someone's perspective, and she's talking about
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: when she met this guy and she's like, I literally ate a salad before I came here to didn't even finish it.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: And now I see him over there, piling food onto this slate.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: No wonder he is a double chin.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then she's like, oh my god, I'm gonna be stuffed.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: At least it's a tiny plate.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: But I can't believe, and then she's talking about how like, my dress, like, just fits.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be like an unwanted,
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: every single line.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh my god, I took one bite of this.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: It was probably 500 calories.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: Or there's a scene when they go to Amelia takes this girl to McDonald's and she's like, God, she has this crazy ingrained for fast food.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: She won't shut up about it.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I don't think there's anything grosser than not taking care of your body by the way.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, there's this line that Lilly says that is just like this is something Vanessa would say there's a point where she's having to stake somewhere out with Unzo and he comes back with the skies is and it's an I love New York hat and like sunglasses and he says tourists that tourists is the best disguise and she goes
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: I just like being from Brooklyn like I just can't even believe I'm wearing this.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: She's like honestly when I'm in when I leave Brooklyn and go to Manhattan I feel like a fucking tourist from like this is not my city.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: My city is across the freaking bridge and dumbbell like I am so not in New York.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in Brooklyn.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: I thank you.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: She's from Brooklyn, lives in the Bronx, of course.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_00]: It isn't even Queens.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Freda, tell me you've never been to New York without telling me you've ever ever been to New York.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, well, there was a part of it.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wait, that was awesome.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: When Nate's walking to Queens, it was like, hey, by the way, you can't do that.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: Where would Millie, my like, down on her luck, Convict, protagonist, live.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: If she lived in the park.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still, I'm still, I'm still telling you from the block.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I know that song.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I heard that song once.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so we go, there's one movie they're going to see.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: Dan's like, I don't really care whatever.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: And Vanessa finally, it's just like, look, if it's weird having me back, because like, you kind of set some things before I left, like, and he goes, yeah, things you immediately ask me to take back.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: So we get the gist that he told her how he felt about her
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: don't say that and she says the well that was because I was leaving and now I'm back and he says it now it's been a year.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's like finesse this is how I know she's no better than all the people that she hates because in her brain there's no other reality than the one where Dan is sitting
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: for a year, just pining over her and not absolutely.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I've seen her and just waiting for her to come back.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: Even though her coming back was never a guarantee.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, she loves the idea of him being heartbroken over her.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like she loves the idea that she got to reject him in the moment and make him wait for a year and now she's going to come back and he better like she owns him, you know, and so yeah, you're totally right.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: So Chuck is trying on masks, Nate is snooping in his dad's house because he thinks that something is up.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: And he, he, Chuck's on what are you doing?
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: Looking for evidence?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, for what?
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, literally for what they.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: hundreds of thousands of dollars were moved.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then your dad could be looking for evidence as to why you needed that money.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and it's like the money was moved, but then I'm allegedly the money was put back in the account so that I'm like, if I'm Nate, I'm just kind of like, okay, I like, I don't fucking know.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think this meant exactly.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, he is going through a book and a baggy of cocaine flies out.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: And Chuck is like, he, he party time and it's like, it's not mine.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't do drugs like this Chuck, you know that.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, he's a little bit concerned.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: Someone else is doing cocaine.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: My guess is on his mom.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely Emily.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: Is that her name?
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really think it was a bit.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: So you're just saying that because Emily and Nate are we've tied them in our brains now.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, maybe I am, I don't know.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: We are back at the Waldorf residents and we hear Blair go, who does this stand?
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Humphrey, think he is.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: We have to help her heal her heart.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: Blair being a good friend.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Blair being a very good friend.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: She says two Claudia Niz.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: Serena must have the hottest state ever if he's got plans.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: He'll change them.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: If he's got a girlfriend, he'll dump her.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: And if he's out of town, he'll charter a G5 and fly home.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: Make it happen.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: Which is just like the fact that Blair,
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Would do this and it doesn't feel like one of those moments where she's like I'm doing this for you So you get your paws off Nate.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like she's trying to be a good friend.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_00]: I read And I just think we should point out those moments I agree own or Waldo or Fox and holding a hookah Which which Blair is like mom is it a ball mother?
- 32:29[SPEAKER_00]: I love them.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: Is it a ball mother?
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't take you for a stoner
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: But it is so funny, Alan was having a Moroccan themed party tonight.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: And she goes, no, it's a hookah.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't it just so cute?
- 32:43[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be perfect for my Moroccan themed party.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: Can I be honest, when we get to this party, it's like the lamest party I've ever seen.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's super lame in the lights are way too bright.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever been to Hooka Booga?
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: There aren't that many people there.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like, just now.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: Look very fun.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: I have no luck.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'm what you.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: You never remember any Hooka bars?
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's the only Hooka bar I've ever been to.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: Morels.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so, okay, I'm like Eleanor Waldorf because Blair says, why do you have to celebrate your Bendel's deal by turning our living room into an opium done?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: And her mom says, why not?
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: We go to Nate and Nate is calling Blair and gets her voice male and he's like, remember this?
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently people used to change their voice male for every single day of their lives.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, I think we're in for the masked ball.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_00]: See you tonight, if you recognize me, but you won't.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's your voice, Mayor, and you're not here now.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: That is Hannah, Mary.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, totally it is.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: But you won't, it's so cute.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's really cute to think of Blair like waking up and being like, oh, I'm so excited for my mask.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're parted tonight, like, I'm gonna change my voice, mail to, if you recognize me, which you won't.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's in, and Nate doesn't even crack a smile.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's brooding.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's upset.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: Nate, snap out of it and recognize that's so cute.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: In confident it was me, so cute.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: Nate, you're about to freaking take her vegan.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: You're about to freaking get it, okay?
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're about to get it.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: He needs to talk about stuff of his dad.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you're freezing, he's like, he's so, he wants to be tortured so bad.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: So bad.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_00]: So he wishes he could switch places with Dan so bad and then he'd realize wait, Dan's on even tortured.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to quit.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_00]: We're all really brilliant.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: Why are we even acting like he's not.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: So we go.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: No, you go.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: You go to Blair's and she's thanking Jenny for bringing everything by and then she sees the bracelet on her wrist and it's like, oh my god, this is so nice.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's vintage.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: Wait.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_00]: These look like real freaking diamonds and Jenny's like, well, that's because they kind of are.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: I, okay, I know that Blair is like not inviting Johnnie the party, and that's mean, I guess.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's, but I, okay, thank you.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like Blair's actually like, given this social contract we've all signed on to here, which is that like, Jenny, you want this, you want to be her lady and waiting you want to be a minion, like you want to be part of this.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if we're looking at like that, I do feel like Blair is talking to her with
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: More like love than she did in previous episodes like I you know what I mean like her she kind of like you can tell She kind of like feel but she's done all the tasks and blurs like it's all part of your education like Blair really is That I sound crazy saying it, but do you know what I mean like she's sort of like taking Johnny on like you're so shit Ask anybody to do this shit.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it she could do it.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: Blair.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Blair gets to just invite people to this.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like it's a dance for like a bunch of different schools in the area.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she says freshmen don't go.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's traditions aren't like, it's not because I'm not inviting you.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a moment of oh, sweetie, you didn't think you were in a constant.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: I right.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: And like I get that thing.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sweet.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like it sounds condescending.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_00]: But.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's a moment of Blair really like, oh my god, like feeling kind of like you see her feel like kind of bad that a little Jenny thought that and then her explaining like it's not you.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's just freshman thing and and then we find out the Jenny saw the extra dress isn't that long as for her and Blair's like you always in a backup, but I promise you your time will come
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: So Lily is trying on outfits for Eleanor's party, Serena is trying out outfits for the masquerade ball and she tells her mom that Dan's like busy with somebody and Lily is low key relief because she wants Serena to date around.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the thing though, I did see a moment in, first of all, I thought this was a really great
- 36:46[SPEAKER_00]: Seeing for their relationship like it showed them being like having a good time with each other or not fine And it was a sweet scene on both of their behalfs, but I also think there was a moment where Lily Was excited to hear that Serena was going with Dan or would be going with Dan and then there was a little bit of disappointment that she then was like Well, you need to date around the age, but I think yeah, initially
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if it's because of Rufus.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: The Rufus of it all, like, it keeps bringing them together with their kids or seeing each other.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I did sense that she was a little bit like, oh, I kind of liked having him around.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: I also wonder if there's a part of Lily, like, I don't remember when Lily and Rufus met and started dating, but I wonder if it was at a similar age as Serena,
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: look I like signed away my life to this guy when I was your age and then like I wish I would have just stayed it around like you know what I mean like instead of following roof us around wherever like maybe there's a part of Lily that like
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: wants that for Serena, but also I feel like there's a part of Lily that's like oh well because she was like finding reasons to be around Rufus before, but she also was like keeping the line there and now I thought it was crazy she invites Rufus to Eleanor's party.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like I thought it was crazy I forgot that this happened so early like I'm like oh my god like this is kind of an
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: I, like, she, I feel like she wouldn't have done that if Serena was going with Dan to the ball.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's almost like, well, then she had permission to kind of do that and obviously the kids don't know that she's with Bart because Serena's like, well, do you have a hot date tonight and Lily's like, no, who would I be dating?
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then this is the part where Serena's giving Arya.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I wonder if you noticed it, but we got to go through this.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, okay, Serena gets a message from Rich Boy the fourth.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's his screen name.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: And hey, if he's at his end of this, ever gets a message from someone named Rich Boy.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: Rich Boy four.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_00]: That kind of don't know.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: hey by the way that's a body it is funny what this is also obviously a pre-bought world because Serena's not worried at all and she clicks and goes like what I supposed to be like his my space profile and here's what we get there that he's got a quote that's featured on his pages has lend me some sugar I am your neighbor okay outcast
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: Um, here are his, like, achievements that are listed on his Myspace page.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: Senior at Dalton High School, varsity lacrosse captain, president of Dalton Sailing Club, Dalton Trackenfield, Dalton Polo captain, all city swim team, and then on to that it says, who he'd like to meet Angelina Jolie, Lindsey Lohan, Halle Berry.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess those are the hoties of the time, and Serene goes, he's no Dan, but I guess he'll do.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: You're right about one thing.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's no Dan.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: He is certainly no Dan, and she's E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E. E
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, and if that ain't, I just heard a different way of saying wander.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: I have wanderlust.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: It was having a good day until I got hit with wanderlust.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm just like yearning.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm just like a little stir crazy.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I want to go to Morocco for real.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm just going to Moroccan theme party tonight and I'm just like, God, I gotta get back to Morocco.
- 40:28[UNKNOWN]: I guess.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's funny for it to be like, I'm a little star now, but I also this isn't necessarily directly related, but I do love when they put the lines in the show that are like
- 40:39[SPEAKER_00]: these 16-year-olds are like, yeah, when I summered and Morocco, yeah, and they're trying about it like they were alone, like it was like a recklessly, they were partying in Morocco as a 14-year-old.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's crazy because like they kind of do, like when we see them summer, Blair is like, I don't know if it's at the end of the season, but she's like, let's go to Paris and like my understanding is that when our Waldorf is nowhere to be found.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know like I don't I don't I don't I don't think so then we go to the loft and Dan is calling to tell Jenny that Vanessa is back in town and then he sees a gossip grow post about Serena
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: This is interesting because like the laptop's open and it's like, okay, Dan, did you just write this and now you're going to share your work?
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: It is a weird thing for gossip girl to say, if not Dan, and again, it begs the question like, do people send these tips in?
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: The update on gossip girl was,
- 41:36[SPEAKER_00]: sometimes a fairy tale ending requires the night to get off his ass and saddle up his steed.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: And then Dan gives a look at the computer like he nailed it.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, oh, he just wrote that he's like, kind of killed that.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: All right, but I get off my ass and go saddle up my freaking feet now.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to take my own freaking advice and go get the girl.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: And he rents a talk.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And then we see that as he like does that, and he leaves to go pick it up.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and then there's a knock at the door and it's Nate and of course she's like in laundry because what else would she be wearing when she's going to stare crazy and she's like come in let me just cover up and they're talking about the coke that he found in his dad's place and basically Serena's like the only person who cared because Chuck just wanted a bump and Blair's phone was off and Nate's like I mean he was having money troubles like now finding this coke.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of making sense and
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I just want to be there for my dad and Serena says, well, if you're right, your dad is probably really scared, you should tell him how you feel again and they like hold hands for a weird second and then she's like, you should go.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta get the fuck out.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting a porn.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, oh, okay, time for a panty change.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody to go.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, oh, no, you have a bone and it's pointing right at me.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: I was expecting this to happen later, but maybe you can get it out of your system now.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: So we go to the loft and Vanessa comes in and starts prying into the love life of her best friends father.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_00]: I understand that their family friends, but if you ever had a family friend where you would feel comfortable asking the parents any questions like this, and now, no, I also, we just have to know we're so immune to it now, but she does call him Rufus.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: She fully first name base and that's how we know.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: loves it she finishes like wait you don't call your parents for their first name it's like a sign of respect like we're all the same level here oh you got to get in on this yeah it's free game it's libera why did wait sorry why did you just call her mom sorry why did you just call her mom you mean Ella you really should be calling your parents by your first name it's so infantilizing not to
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'll say I can be talking about what Veneres Veneres Veneres, what Vanessa is wearing.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: She wishes her name was Veneres.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, she's like, okay, well now that I'm moving back to New York, I was thinking of going by Veneres.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like they're, I've met a bit of a friend where she like is, well, I was about to say whenever she's like out Starbucks, ordering it, you know, she never uses Starbucks.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: That has never been the Starbucks.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: She, she, like, gives Vanara in a way where, like, she can be like, I said, Vanessa, and then, like, she gets her cup back and she's like, but this kind of suits me.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's a day to night.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then she plays it on her story.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, and with her face, what is funny is for, with this show, when I imagine them, like, posting on their stories, even though Instagram didn't exist, it is in the, like,
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: first ever like Kelvin filter like I see the like bad camera quality of the first iPhone like I literally picture it that way when I think of these things so I feel like we depose in the posting pretty little wires at such a different yeah energy totally than these fucking dorks
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: What's also fun, none of them, iPhones, yeah.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: And it is refreshing because the iPhone did come out.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_00]: It came out in 2007 when the show aired.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think, I mean, I'm sure we'll see them got them next season, but it does show that, like, the iPhone's a premise he didn't exist yet at this time.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: It was still very much like the Black Baron.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_00]: Also, the first one was, like, so expensive.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: And it was kind of like, like, when the scared of a one in two, it was like a break, yeah, yeah.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so she's wearing a snake skin-printed dress, black faux leather leggings, black pumps, a silver, short sleeves, cropped hoodie, and a gigantic blue belt.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Maria.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: Look at how fast I need to eat out.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, literally they do a closet swap everything's giving she and Vanessa like for sure My god because they can't throw anything away.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no, they're like everything's like everything's giving it's like even if that's mine That I had last swap It's it has a brand new life because I've grown in this year.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely can't just pair with a new accessory a quote new accessory My freaking closet and it's a brand and I got a brand new dress You know, Vanessa probably like
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: She dreamt up, D-pop, and then somebody else got to it first, and she's never got to it.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: That's her whole story now.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: She actually had that idea of first.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, yeah, I mean, it's a great idea.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just wasn't.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't have had the idea literally years ago.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't have monetized it.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't have monetized it.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I definitely wouldn't have made it.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: So we have to use like a phone or the internet to get there.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like whatever happened to a good old thrift shop.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever happens to a good old clothing swap party.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like what?
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so yeah, but Vanessa like notice is that Rufus has dressed up and she's like, I would ask if you have a day and he finishes But my wife left me.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, how about both of you shut the fuck up?
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: Little much Also, what is Rufus raised when they can oversized brown suit?
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: He looks ridiculous
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think I thought it was gray, like a dark gray, and remind us brown, but you might have kind of a brown jacket on over the blazer.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, maybe.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: But it's because the shirts, everything is monochrome, and then there's like a floral pattern on the tie, but the tie is the same color as the suit and the shirt.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it was a brown eye, I might be wrong.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I also think Vanessa, like, don't comment on what your best friend's dad is wearing.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: Don't comment on that and definitely Rufus also hate you don't need to tell Vanessa that she broke your son's heart.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: How about in shut the fire?
- 47:31[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, that's true.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: Rufus shut the fuck up challenge.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: You don't care about it.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_00]: no because I think he's having dance back.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's like Vanessa don't come in here.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's like about to have a he couldn't he could have a really good thing with Serena.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_00]: He seems really excited about it.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: Don't come in here expecting my kid to like don't come in here and ruin his life.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_00]: Except for that then Vanessa goes yeah well tonight I'm going to tell Jan how I feel.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: I have to pick my moment.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of a big deal.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I guess so.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm like, Rufus is fully aware that Vanessa's gonna, I guess that's true.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe, who knows, maybe when they call Rufus to fight her to the party, Lily was like, oh, yeah, we'll Dan, Dan and Serena, I don't know what's going on, but they're not going together.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: One's her heart to be broken, just like Dan's was.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, we're just like his is.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: Just like his, wow, even worse.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_00]: So Vanessa's phone rings will her heart is gonna be broken because Dan is canceling on her and he's like, I can't lie in.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe she is a cell phone.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: I know I can't believe she isn't communicating via carrier pigeon like it's a cell phone like her.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a garment bag.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's walking on the streets of New York.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: And he says he is an American history paper do Monday.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: So they can't help the wine.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_00]: The line is unnecessary and also he's in your house.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I hope you're not planning on coming home here to change with your garment bag.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because because she's not leaving either, our journey comes home and isn't excited to see Vanessa, Vanessa falls down to her room like, so I'd just be garable down.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_00]: Then we go to Blair, Blair's the water or apartment, and Rufus is Lily's state crazy.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's just so insane and like, I don't know.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's really fander what's in you know you can't go to any party let alone an Eleanor Waldorf party where you go and to know everybody It's like high profile.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: You set it yourself and you walk in there all these connections here What are you thinking coming in here with through this Humphrey and not thinking it's like gonna be a headline tomorrow You know, especially if you know bar bass was invited It's just like a not the person I would choose
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's no, it's not anybody else and it's you know what the reason is we know that he wants to she wants to make him jealous but then I really don't understand why we're the first.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's because in a way because of the kind of guy Rufus is it like makes part it like makes him even more crazy
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: he's a really you're going to be here with like the wash up rock star well does part no lily's history with roofest is the question of that too because i don't know i don't remember because all of that would make it make more sense yeah i don't know so but there's a really funny moment where lily's like i'm doing you a favor by bringing you here like you're never brushing shoulders with big people and music and art uses opportunity
- 50:20[SPEAKER_00]: To revitalize your career and put that sad little gallery on the cultural radar, and he says, since when were you the patron saint of former rock stars?
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, since when were you a star?
- 50:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's so good.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_00]: I just love it.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so then Lily introduces Eleanor to Rufus.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: We see the Bart is also here with somebody.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_00]: The four of them have like an awkward thing.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_00]: Bart's brought like some young person named Corissa.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Rufus can pretty much immediately tell
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, got me really comes up to it immediately and then the captain shows up.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but before that we go with to earth the cabin shows up and then we go
- 51:01[SPEAKER_00]: Back to the Brooklyn loft and Jenny is confiding in Vanessa and Vanessa's like oh my god We're getting you into that ball.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh she's like you into that ball and it is funny Jenny does it go well Blair like didn't ever tell me that I would get to go like completely came up with this thought on my own
- 51:21[SPEAKER_00]: And this is like, no, you should go.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: My friend works in a costume department.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get you a gown and every volume has a back door.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't even need an invitation.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: We would have a gown, but every ballroom has a back door is the name of Vanessa Abrams's memoir.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God, you nailed it.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: Every ballroom has the biggest metaphor for her whole existence.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: The title is like,
- 51:46[SPEAKER_00]: The life of Manhattan elites through the eyes of a Brooklyn bad girl from behind the mask or whatever her like and then it all started at this mask grade ball and she talks about how like she had a wear mask for them to see her for her to get into this life, but like she actually was viewing it from behind the mask who is the real girl.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, wow.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we're writing the book.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we are gonna be writing Vanessa Abrams' memoir.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: You have a book.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_00]: Are Lisa and her character?
- 52:14[SPEAKER_00]: And we're writing her a book.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_00]: Herding a book from her P.O.V.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: We'd actually, that could be a bestseller.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's do a comedy book.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_00]: We go to the ball.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: Dan is outside with this super drunk kid and he's like telling him how to get up to midtown and he's like watch off for the cars and it also may be you'd see better without this mask.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_00]: Let me have it.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then he starts walking away and he goes, hey, and also let's turn around.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: And do you have a name?
- 52:42[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Altman.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so Dan's Dan genius one one smart move.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: Dan uses that name to get in to the party.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_00]: Then somehow Vanessa It's like this Vanessa know everybody that's working the event like It seems like it because she was like thanks so much like the guys like doing yourself letting them at him like you're not getting like let in by these people You would have this weekend.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and Jenny's like, thank you so much and Vanessa's like well deep program you later I just have to say I just still think I would recognize everyone
- 53:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that's all ways my complaint with masquerade balls.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like I'm also I'm just not wearing a mask.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_00]: I have to hold up to my face.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, I thought that about Blair It's not yeah Like she looks great, but I'm like you're standing in the middle of the floor holding up thing your face and also I'm sorry if I am Blair and I'm like setting up a scavenger hunt and I want my boyfriend to find me so I can lose my V card tonight And I'm wearing a mask.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't really hide my face if I boyfriend doesn't find me before midnight even accidentally
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: entire night looking at her, but definitely not seeing her.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, there I thought of it.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_00]: Serena and Jenny both and their yellow dresses.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_00]: What's with Serena, like, and her audition for Dancing With The Stars?
- 53:56[SPEAKER_00]: Do you see the big, like, heel pop that she does?
- 53:59[SPEAKER_00]: With that was like, huh?
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: And also she's been having the time of her life.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: Later on when she's talking to the guy, she's like, Uh, uh, there's never been anyone worse than you.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, okay, this is just not matching those for me.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, guys, no one else is dancing the way that they're dancing.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_00]: And no one does an powdered wig, no other guys are any powdered wig, you're not in Hamilton, why are you wearing that?
- 54:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's in full French Revolution cosplay, but as a little north of you know, as the Revolutionaries, and you're literally like I literally might as well hear them go dancing the rumble Serena Van der Witzen and rich boy the fourth!
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like it is really weird the way they're dancing and it's so kind of hilarious.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_00]: Dan is like washing this up and he's like, oh my god, I can't freaking believe this.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_00]: He even has the walk back in and I'm like, still here.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's sure he can't cuz she's she can't get enough.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_00]: She can't get enough, but also, um, no, but I'm saying like the mast don't work.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: You're right about like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 55:04[SPEAKER_00]: It foreshadowing for when Serenus is a literal sister, Vanessa comes back in and one thing that I did think was weird is like before Vanessa says goodbye to Jenny, she's like, and this is ugly, and takes her entire purse.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and doesn't give a purse to her, gives her a fan.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, she's almost like she did this on purpose.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's almost like she knew everything Jenny would need
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: pre-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-sci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci-ci
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: Chuck and Blair have a moment of chatting because Nate is sucking at the scavenger hunt, Blair's upset, and this is when Chuck notices Jenny.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: Chuck says, I wouldn't need clues to find you.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and she goes, yeah, and you probably wouldn't, what did you say to, do you think about ravishing flower me or something?
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I love this part.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny gets her revenge.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_00]: Chuck goes up her Jenny doesn't know what's her.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: Kisses her hands, sees her bracelets as she has great taste.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_00]: And Jenny says, apparently not, I'm talking to you.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: And he says, beautiful and mean.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_00]: I've got chills.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like that is so funny to me.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so Chuck baths.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny rejects dancing with him.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, why don't we just go somewhere quiet to talk?
- 56:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he is all about it.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: This is such a good moment for Johnny Hanas.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_00]: She's gonna find him and fire.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_00]: Or he's gonna find her and fire.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: So we go back to the Moroccan theme party.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: The captain is talking about business in Delaware.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: It is co-cooked up.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_00]: He is co-cooked up and he, like, I'm like, can we have a little bit of like, a personality that's not just like, I eat this for Gendale.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like that is the energy he's brought to the Moroccan theme party.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, Smoka, Huka.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_00]: Take a load off cap.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_00]: Take a load off cap.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's only on uppers and Eleanor's like I'm just confused like I don't know because you've never done fashion before So I don't know why I'm gonna trust you with this.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_00]: These others now have a good deck.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's like done a lot better and then Mrs. D'Archard bald Makes him she can't Eleanor can't refuse this.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: She's like well, we were just talking about when Nate and Blair getting engaged We think Blair should have my great-grandmother's ring and then shows Eleanor and Eleanor is like owing and hoeing
- 57:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then that her grandmother was given by Cornelius Vanderbilt.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, this is, I've never, ever, ever in all my years, notice this.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_00]: But, okay, so we have Rufus and Lily and Rufus is like, I know how you can make Bart really jealous.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_00]: Starts making out what they're in the middle of this party.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_00]: You never noticed that?
- 57:53[SPEAKER_00]: No, I never noticed that.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_00]: I never noticed what's happening behind them.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: Have you noticed Elinar Waldorf watching this happen?
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: because let me tell you way more entertaining in the actual kiss.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_00]: Eleanor Waldorf is watching the kiss and then when Nica part she goes, hmm, she makes like a big eye look.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: She looks at the archie ball.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, she's like doing a whole bit about it, behind them and same with Nate's mom.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: They're both like, hmm, it's like this is like the question I always ask you, or I loved to ask you that night which is, hmm, so what do you think about?
- 58:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that and what did I say, said you're always in the moment and you're watching and you're reacting and you're thinking what would my character be doing and thinking in the scene and not how I'm going to proceed and not as what they are doing there it's going to be a little bit it's going to give you a free meal it's so funny and I've never noticed it because she's like Ella was a kind of out of focus back there, but it is worth checking back in for that moment it's so good.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so we go back to the mask group all now.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_00]: Serena's board.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, you don't know any more dance moves.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_00]: We wasted all our best moves in the beginning of the party.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_00]: People are still shuffling in.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: She's pissed off and Dan cuts in on the dancing to save her, but Serena has a great pace off and hand another person.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_00]: I know can't dance.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh great what answers do you know different groceries grocery car shopping car The electric slide the electric slide doubt it So Kati and I as are giving me a clue.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_00]: They're like you're being really bad at this so we're coming to you since you couldn't find us I was so I love their fits.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_00]: They look great and they're like just go find Serena She's gonna lead you to Blair and this takes him right out of his side boy trans
- 59:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sorry, that was the sound of his boner popping up at the point in the direction of the arena van or what?
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't like saying that word or I would have said it, but I knew I trusted that you were going together.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I knew you were dying for me to say it.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was written all over her face.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: She was actually mulling it to me.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, okay, let's take the words right out of your mouth.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_00]: So Chuck goes back to Jenny.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's got champagne.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I want to play hide and seek.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_00]: You hide.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to see up with this.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: This is wet on the spot.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, this is the Jenny from the elevator.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't seen her again since the elevator.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_00]: See absolute center or something, but absolutely.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: She was little Jay all episode.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is Jenny Humphrey, Jenny Humphrey was an elevator.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, absolutely.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny Humphrey's word is Jenny Humphrey Kale, the Blair Waldorf sleepover.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's this, Jenny Humphrey, okay?
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_00]: She says, you can leave me a trail of your clothes to find his chocolate.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_00]: She's all about it.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_00]: Chuck's a good kink king.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_00]: He loves the shirt.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to play hide and seek and he says,
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't have any bread grumps and she's like you're close and her like Valley girl Accent or you're close and he says I must have died and gone to heaven.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what I will say as someone who's not attracted to Chuck or really at Westwick I do think the way that they did his hair in this with his like I think he looks like a devil's episode He does he does he's a devil.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's a devil Chuck Bastard devil
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so Dan is explaining it again.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's the only British accent Caroline can do now.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's the only literally, Alex Drake will live within this show.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_00]: Come on.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_00]: Troy and we need to work on that.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: Bo.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_00]: So Dan explains his arena that he calmed his way down here.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_00]: It does say in this episode.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_00]: Don't say Bo.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_00]: Do it.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: And already happened.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're right, you're right.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_00]: I maybe, I don't know.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, I'm guys.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sorry, sorry.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, but Serena's like, well, what happened this morning?
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you were with another girl you lied about it.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_00]: So we started to be planning about the now looking for Dan or looking around.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really think she's looking for Jenny in theory.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_00]: But like,
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_00]: She wants to be seen so bad.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_00]: She takes someone's mask and like, hey, girl, that outfit.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_00]: No, there's no point anywhere I'm asked.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, keep sticking it off.
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, she's like, she's like, hold this thing.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: Us, but anybody seen me at, okay, maybe my outfit's not enough to get enough attention.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_00]: Is anyone see how beautiful they is?
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's a thing.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_00]: But that's just so pretty.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_00]: She got my shirt and you guys see my tattoo.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: I love New York.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's you.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, I'm going to New Orleans this weekend and I'm going to get an I love Noah Tattoo right above your boot.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't know, probably not that one, probably I love New York.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_00]: No, I just, I know it this crew, like the last bachelor at with this crew, I didn't get to go on, but they got tattoos and I just like always have a feeling it's going to be like on the menu when I'm with them.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I'll get one, but if I do, I'll probably get, I'll probably get the same one, but I still have.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to have it.
- 1:02:47[UNKNOWN]: No.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't even.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_00]: I only moved to New York.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I didn't get any of the New York, but that's because I was saving room.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_00]: When we had our podcast member, I was covered in false bodies actually in the process of getting the removes.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_00]: Getting those removes like replace them.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_00]: So this weekend, Mars was first one.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's very exciting.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_00]: So Dan is explaining about his relationship with Vanessa.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's a little complicated like it was before her.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I am not into her.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not into her.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_00]: So they take the wood make me if I'm Vanessa and I hear this.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_00]: What is it?
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_00]: My wrist at the party.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_00]: I love her and uh oh wait he says it's true Vanessa.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're just evening.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, yes.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, so Vanessa they start making out and then Vanessa is just standing there watching them and she takes her mask off.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, well, go see me now.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_00]: She's going to get a match, she's going to get a match.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'll feel it.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way, by the way.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_00]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:12[UNKNOWN]: I've been walking around just by the way.
- 1:04:13[UNKNOWN]: I've
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: Who are you calling the crazy?
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm crazy.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so he's like, uh, shit.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_00]: He runs, and I'm like, that, I'm sure that makes Serena feel great, that you leave making out with her to run out for another girl who's arguably beautiful.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_00]: And Vanessa, what did we try to line with each other?
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, it really goes, you guys, it really proves that a personality goes along fucking way, so true, so true.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_00]: He, he does another lie here because she goes, when did we start lying to each other and he goes, well, I just refrain from telling the truth.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Dan, he told me what, all face lie.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_00]: You literally say, you're working on an American history face, you're bald faced, or can it be either?
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I'm directing you.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_00]: I saw it written down somewhere as bald face.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I think I thought it was bald face.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_00]: I always think it's bald face.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a bald face in a bald face or more correctly, a bald face lie.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess it is bald.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_00]: There you go, because it's an uncovered.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's just the out there.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, they both could work probably.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_00]: So then he's like, I don't know.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't work for where you're wearing.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, it doesn't.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_00]: That video made me laugh so hard.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_00]: Paige just wore a bow.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, he goes, I think that was a bow.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, she's one of them.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_00]: She's a bad.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_00]: She's a bad one.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_00]: She's a piggas.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_00]: You hate this world, but I said, go so to you and he goes to you, would you come here to catch me?
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, well, no, and she ends up saying to him, you said you love me and he says this evil.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_00]: He goes,
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_00]: loved you first first the way her stagger my heart next in the past in a pre-shaving 16-year-old kind of way things have changed Vanessa says clearly it looks like someone's traded up
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_00]: that is a harrowing exchange.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just say it.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, this is sad.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is what I meant.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_00]: We'd make me strike them out.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, completely.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_00]: Serena, obviously as soon as I was like, oh, that's Vanessa tells Dan.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_00]: She's so beautiful and Dan runs after Vanessa.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_00]: And wouldn't know before that because she says, um,
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_00]: She says, so you're saying you're not into old friend Vanessa anymore, and he says you're saying you're not into pompous as the fourth anymore.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_00]: Which, which you say, Dan?
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_00]: your pompous.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're kind of, you may not pompous as five things that everybody is here, but your pompous in your own way about your own things and you're more annoying about it than anybody is here.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_00]: So Jenny finds Chuck on the roof.
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's in just a tank top and his boxers.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_00]: She takes all of his clothes with a bone in the pocket.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_00]: That leaves him on the right mid-shock.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_00]: to be on the roof.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, we're sure you should be completely naked.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_00]: We want to see it.
- 1:07:19[SPEAKER_00]: But so he's now totally stuck up there.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_00]: Let me go outside the party.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_00]: Dan grabs a random girl on the street thinking it's Vanessa.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's not.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_00]: Let me go to the Moroccan party, Lily is just sitting and thinking, she needed a moment after the kiss because it made her feel nauseous, because she goes, it made me feel nostalgic and she said nauseous and he apologizes for kissing her, this is a beautiful line he says.
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_00]: But I did it because of that mercenary and a starched white shirt not just that it's not the one I meant Well then he says to her something like the younger always like blood beauty fades, but yours doesn't and this line I thought he should know how it feels to lose you because trust me, it's not fun
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_00]: I like that line, but I did like the full line that said Beauty fades, but yours seems to be holding up, yeah, remarkably well or something.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_00]: It is, he's just so in love with her, but then of course in that moment, Bart approach is, and that's that.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_00]: Rufus presses that elevator button leaves.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_00]: Let me go back to the ball.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_00]: Serena goes into the bathroom as Nate is like trying to reach out to her and talk to her and she runs into Jenny and Jenny's like,
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll see you me here.
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in Serena, mentions Vanessa, and Jenny is, oh no, V's dance best friend.
- 1:08:39[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted Serena to slap her here.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_00]: Don't say V. You know, Blair and I are called S&B, how dare you.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_00]: Serena's like, well, it seems like more like, do they have a history in Jenny's like, stop it now.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_00]: He likes you so much, I think he'd go anywhere with you, except Navy the Ice Capades because that really freaked him out when he was five.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so Serena's gonna go look for him, but she's tired of her mask so she and Jenny trade masks and then Serena also gives her She's wearing this like black shrug and she gives her the journey to Jenny's like like yes, if I'm looking at you I should take my hair down to yeah, and Serena's like beautiful like helping her take it She's like oh, yeah, really pretty She's like this what's what's it Blake's brand Blake Brown Bobby Brown?
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, as Jenny walks out of the bathroom, Nate grabs her from behind says don't say anything Let me explain and is we have the opera asthma and his fan of the opera mass can completely bring a fan of the opera It's his favorite musical.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's the only one he's ever seen ever.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's that he's like, I just think it would look way more badass if it was sober
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_00]: Every time he sees it, oh, I thought he made the music almost like this.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's like as you're frequent Visitor.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's the only one he's ever seen, but he sees it once a week.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_00]: He does strike me as the kind of boy.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_00]: He saw it once and he's like, I really like that first song.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's my favorite musical.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_00]: Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even think you had to tell him about Larry's wearing.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's been walking honestly, me, probably spotted Blair right away and was like, well, since we're all in math, I can just pretend I didn't recognize her, and I don't have to talk to her all night.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's what happened.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_00]: So, then Jenny runs away.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Blair grabs Jenny's arm thinking it's Serena.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny's brace like comes off and Blair's hand, Blair sees it.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Cinderella's father told Lisa in her last book.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Nate shows up behind Blair Midnight in Blair's past.
- 1:11:04[SPEAKER_00]: She's Jenny thinks it's Serena.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_00]: She's been Cinderella this whole episode.
- 1:11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny?
- 1:11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_00]: I guess you're right.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's on purpose.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Because at the beginning, the dress the guy says.
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_00]: Vanessa's very godmother.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, all right, so she's like Blair is that you will stop sister making her do all her things.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, and then you can't come to the ball.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Look at you, Phoebe.
- 1:11:31[SPEAKER_00]: You are out English majoring the English major, okay?
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, holy moly.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_00]: It only took the allegory being a Disney movie.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_00]: B-B-B-B-B.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_00]: And like, I didn't have room for the Disney movies anymore because I was reading so much like Jane Austen, like so much like like 17th century British literature.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_00]: So like, I had to make room and cleared out all the Disney tales.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Also because they're really bad for women.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_00]: That was very, very bad the way you just said that.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_00]: I hate people are like, and my kid will never be watching Disney Princess.
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's like mine.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:12:04[SPEAKER_00]: There are like, you can watch as he princess movies and still be a feminist.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Also, can I just say one other thing about, oh, I just wrote a book.
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't know it was magical realism when I sort of reading it.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Did you say buddy, I said bragging.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the book is called Bunny.
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, honestly, I feel like sometimes when I read, this is not really aria.
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_00]: No, sometimes when I read, I can't read it.
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like I like look in that, like I like think, like I noticed all those little things.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, oh, if you noticed something, you can bring it up in class.
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_00]: You can get like brownie points for the day.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_00]: So like I always like notice like whatever.
- 1:12:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I kept noticing things in this book.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then like, they weren't being explained or whatever and I was like, it was to the point where like, you have an unreliable narrator and a lot of her thoughts are in like italics, but then there would be all these times where like her thoughts were in italics, but other people were responding to them and I was like, okay, she like skits a frenic like she hearing voices like what and like ultimately like that kind of is what's happening, but
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's like one part where there's a quotation of somebody talking to her and it says like I don't remember what the lime is Let's just say it was like what's up and it says like quote what's up she said and quote and like that was in the quote It's like is that like but it was an idea.
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I was like what the fuck is going on and I just feel like I couldn't enjoy the book Because I kept trying to like make sense of everything as I was reading it.
- 1:13:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's not I don't think that's the English major And you I think that sounds confusing
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it is confusing, but I couldn't allow it to be confusing.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_00]: And at the end of it, I was like researching it.
- 1:13:47[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, what the fuck did I just read?
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_00]: And like, I got all the things that they were trying to say, like, I understood all those things, but I just didn't know as magical realism when I started reading it.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I think if I would have known that, I would have been like, okay, because apparently nothing is supposed to make sense in magical realism.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_00]: So they're like, you're not supposed to like,
- 1:14:06[SPEAKER_00]: But you're trained to read like the author put everything in there for a reason and like everything but it and it's like it's still true But you have to be okay with like it never being like answered or never finding out if like you're right about any of that stuff And it's like open your interpretation like whatever you think and I don't fucking like that and I
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_00]: feel like if I'm going to commit to reading an entire book that's weird that I should at least have the payoff of like knowing that the things that I noticed mattered or right and I think that that way of reading ruins some books like that for me.
- 1:14:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's fair.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I just am going to stick to non-matical realism.
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so we go everyone's leaving the party Chuck now knows it was Jenny and he's like okay She got me Blair goes to get her car Nate follows her.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I don't fucking think so No happily ever after for you.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't have him in night fuck you.
- 1:15:00[SPEAKER_00]: He says a Chuck.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_00]: I will see you in the am And where does he?
- 1:15:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, I don't think so.
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like so honey She's like all I wanted to do was start over and you didn't even try
- 1:15:14[SPEAKER_00]: And that's true, and we see Serena's original date leaving with Kati and is so they're gonna have to read some and Dan runs after Serena He's like oh, he's in the phone with phone
- 1:15:25[SPEAKER_00]: But she's like right there.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_00]: She's like behind him, watching him call her.
- 1:15:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, why'd you ran away?
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, you ran away.
- 1:15:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, no, you ran away.
- 1:15:33[SPEAKER_00]: And they just keep doing that.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then Dan's like, well, this is what you were wearing.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_00]: And he describes Jenny.
- 1:15:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then Serena comes up behind her.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, I like actually, she has Jenny's back.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, well, there were, well, there was more than one of me tonight.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, you're, it's a good point.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't say that Jenny was there.
- 1:15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he tells Serena that he likes her and only her.
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_00]: She says she feels the same about him.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_00]: They have a big ol' kiss and then a sweet moment Serena is like, I heard the ice debates are coming to town and he says, if you're there, so am I, which is sweet, especially because he doesn't know that Jenny told him her that.
- 1:16:06[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, it's not a joke to him, and she could have, you know, anyway.
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh.
- 1:16:10[SPEAKER_00]: Who is next scene?
- 1:16:12[SPEAKER_00]: This is how you know, if you had any, I don't know about Captain, the thoughts, or whatever, now you know how to feel about it.
- 1:16:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now you know how you're supposed to feel about Captain.
- 1:16:23[SPEAKER_00]: Nate gets home, sees his parents.
- 1:16:25[SPEAKER_00]: We find out Captain closed the deal, but we're not really a feeling like we're departing mood.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on mom dad?
- 1:16:30[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on pops?
- 1:16:31[SPEAKER_00]: Why are we departing?
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_00]: My reporting, so the freaking deal if I'm these parents and my son just got back from a party don't you think he would have brought it with him?
- 1:16:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's a really good point.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like why is it just and why would your kid stash it where the bottle opener is?
- 1:16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wait, because also
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_00]: Did he put it somewhere else?
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Is she walks in?
- 1:16:57[SPEAKER_00]: And Nate walks in and they were having champagne and he was like, she says I was going to find a bottle or a wine opener or something.
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I found this and it's not mine and it's not your dad's.
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_00]: And Captain like can't even look at Nate.
- 1:17:12[SPEAKER_00]: He literally won't even look at Nate.
- 1:17:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's just staring at the floor, which I'm also like, if I'm the wife,
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, hello, back me up here, and you should be quiet.
- 1:17:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, why are you acting like this?
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's making me feel weird.
- 1:17:24[SPEAKER_00]: And the way that like Nate, I mean, I know kids are their parents, but he just sincerely seems to be like, you got, like, this isn't her usual.
- 1:17:32[SPEAKER_00]: And also, I'm sorry, out of all the people who seem to be coked up in the room, I mean, maybe not right now, but Nate is in Nate never seems.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_00]: Nate never seems coked up.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_00]: He seems like the opposite, actually.
- 1:17:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and so they think of the coca says and then happy ending by Mike Esther.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's playing.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh This is so way you left me.
- 1:17:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not pretend we go to the loft and Dan comes into Jenny's room and it's like I went to the ball.
- 1:17:58[SPEAKER_00]: I hope you would have good night.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_00]: She's not peaches in the batches.
- 1:18:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like I hope you had fun I wish I could have gone
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just a little Jay, and he's like, I am so fucking tired and she goes, well, you're in luck.
- 1:18:12[SPEAKER_00]: You can't even go in bed because Gus, who's in there right now.
- 1:18:15[SPEAKER_00]: Someone's actually in your bed right now, but yeah, here night's not out where someone's in your bed.
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_00]: Greasy, perogues and all.
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_00]: Can I just say something Vanessa this is crazy of you to do like you now know that he's basically like with another girl and you're showing up in his bedroom in his bed at the end of the night I think it's bonkers.
- 1:18:35[SPEAKER_00]: I know she's like I come in piece.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_00]: She has parole.
- 1:18:37[SPEAKER_00]: She's like trying to whatever, but I still think it's crazy And they both apologize to her.
- 1:18:40[SPEAKER_00]: He pulls down the partition between his and Jenny's room and I'm like why why can't we all debrief together
- 1:18:47[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you want to be alone with Vanessa?
- 1:18:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's weird.
- 1:18:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's weird to me.
- 1:18:50[SPEAKER_00]: Me as a kid when Caroline had a boy come over.
- 1:18:53[SPEAKER_00]: And why can't the three of us hang out?
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's a three of us.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's so funny.
- 1:19:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so I just got up to classic little sister shenanigans.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_00]: Flash out.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Flash out.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_00]: The trampoline.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_00]: I was like me being like, Don't worry mom and dad.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm having a boy come over and it's the middle.
- 1:19:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's the night time.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to go on the trampoline.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well.
- 1:19:17[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Caroline, you're not slick.
- 1:19:19[UNKNOWN]: I can't.
- 1:19:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then mom had not sending you down with them flashlight to see what's going on.
- 1:19:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's like no, no It's going on you let me go on the trampoline in the night time with the boys You know it was even better.
- 1:19:29[SPEAKER_00]: I was up on the deck I really like what what is that?
