- 0:29The introit. Though a 100 trials beset the innocent, the Lord will bring them safely through them all. Under the Lord's keeping, every bone of theirs is safe. Not one of them shall suffer harm. At all times, I will bless the Lord.
- 0:52His praise shall be on my lips continually. Glory be to the father and to the son and to the holy ghost as it was in the beginning is now and will be through all ages of ages. Amen. Though a 100 trials beset the innocent, the lord will bring them safely through them all. Under the lord's keeping, every bone of theirs is safe.
- 1:25Not one of them shall suffer harm. The Collect. Let us pray. Almighty god, let twofold joy be ours on this day's festival as we celebrate the triumph of blessed John and Paul, true brothers, for they shared one faith and one martyrdom. A commemoration of the Octave of Saint John the Baptist.
- 2:00O God, who has made this day honorable to us on account of the birth of blessed John, Grant to thy people the grace of spiritual joys and direct the minds of all the faithful into the way of eternal salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, through all ages of ages. Amen. A lesson from the wisdom of Sirach. These were men of tender conscience. Their deeds of charity will never be forgotten.
- 2:48Blessings abide with their posterity. Their descendants are a race set apart for God, the pledged heirs of his promises. For their sakes, this line of theirs will endure for all time. Their stock, their name will never be allowed to die out. Their bodies lie in peace.
- 3:14Their name lasts on age after age. Their wisdom is yet a legend among the people. Wherever faithful men assemble, their story is told. The gradual, gracious the sight and full of comfort when brothers dwell united gracious as balm poured on the head till it flows down upon the beard. Balm that flowed down on the beard of Aaron.
- 3:51Alleluia. Alleluia. Here was true brotherliness which overcame the guilt of the world. They followed Christ holding fast to the glorious kingdom of heaven. Alleluia.
- 4:10A continuation of the holy gospel according to Luke. At that time, Jesus said to his disciples, have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees. It is all hypocrisy. What is veiled will all be revealed. What is hidden will all be known.
- 4:35What you have said in darkness will be repeated in the light of day. What you have whispered in secret chambers will be proclaimed on the housetops. And I say this to you who are my friends. Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body, and after that can do no more. I will tell you who it is you must fear.
- 5:03Fear him who has power not only to kill but to cast a man into hell. Him you must fear indeed. Are not sparrows sold 5 for 2p? And yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. As for you, he takes every hair of your head into his reckoning.
- 5:30Do not be afraid then. You count for more than a host of sparrows. And I tell you this, whoever acknowledges me before men will be acknowledged by the Son of Man in the presence of God's angels. The offertory. All those who love thy name will boast of thee, O Lord, who givest thy benediction to the just.
- 6:02O Lord, thou dost throw thy loving kindness about us like a shield. The secret. Graciously receive, O Lord, the sacrifices consecrated to thee for the merits of thy saints, John and Paul, and grant that they may profit for our everlasting help through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God through all ages of ages. Amen. A commemoration of the octave of Saint John the Baptist.
- 6:48We heap our gifts upon thine altars, O Lord, as we celebrate with due honor the nativity of him who prophesied the coming and made known the presence of the world savior. Jesus Christ, thy son, our lord, who is god living and reigning with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost through all ages of ages. Amen. The common preface, just it is indeed and fitting right in for our salvation that we should at all times and in all places give thanks unto thee, o holy lord, father almighty, everlasting god. Through whom the angels praise thy majesty, the dominions worship it, the power stand in awe, the heavens and the hosts of heaven together with the blessed Seraphim joyfully do magnify.
- 7:53We entreat thee that thou command it be permitted us to join with them in confessing thee while we say with lowly praise. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts, the heavens and the earth are full of thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
- 8:28The communion. Men saw only the pains they endured. God all the while did but test them. Pure gold, they must be tried in the crucible. His victims, they must come to him from the altar.
- 8:50The post communion. Let us pray. We have received, O Lord, thy heavenly sacraments on this festival kept by us in honor of thy holy martyrs, John and Paul. Grant we beseech thee that the right we are even now completing may bring to us eternal joys through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God through all ages of ages. Amen.

In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy ghost. Amen.
