- 0:56Thank you. Now here are the hosts of the
- 1:00United We Scan Podcast. Welcome back, everybody.
- 1:07Episode 63. Kristen's now with us.
- 1:11To begin with, she's traveling back home from family
- 1:16engagement, but she'll be joining us soon.
- 1:19So right now it's just me, Bill, and Toasty.
- 1:23So how you doing this week, Bill?
- 1:26I'm I'm doing fine. I'm antsy.
- 1:29I I had a leg operation on Tuesday to clear a a calcium
- 1:33deposit in my leg. So I am antsy to get back to
- 1:36work. Nothing worse than a bill cooped
- 1:39up for five days. And I I I'm just, you know,
- 1:43after after seeing some of our posts on the the social media as
- 1:48well as accounts coming out of my office, I'm ready to get back
- 1:52to work and and stir the pot. I hear that, I hear that.
- 1:59How was your week toasty? I've been drowning in political
- 2:03mail unfortunately when the route that I'm on has a dueling
- 2:08Republican candidates so one didn't vote the way that the
- 2:12governor wanted him to vote. So been dealing with that all
- 2:15week and of course those come in WSH.
- 2:18So been trying to keep up with those.
- 2:21Count all of that. I almost full coverage almost
- 2:24every day with something and getting done around 8 hours.
- 2:29A little bit over, but other than that it's not too bad.
- 2:33Weather's getting nice around here, so can't complain about
- 2:37that. That's awesome.
- 2:40And how was your week, Krista? Well, I just dropped my daughter
- 2:46and the stuff off at home and I'm on way to go pick up my dog
- 2:49right now. But other than that my my week
- 2:53was not too bad. I had my route Monday.
- 2:58Tuesday I was supposed to be trained in the new RCA but that
- 3:02got pushed to Wednesday, Thursday instead.
- 3:05So I ran my route actually Tuesday, Monday and Tuesday and
- 3:09Wednesday We did the first day of OJT for the third new sub
- 3:14Thursday and I again had let them know about that poor LLV
- 3:18with transmission issues on Wednesday, Thursday we were
- 3:23about 15 minutes from the end of the row and the transmission
- 3:26completely went on us. And I've been telling them that
- 3:30for the last month and a half, two months, that that sucker's
- 3:33going to go down on me while I'm training.
- 3:36And it did. Well, at least you got to teach
- 3:41them about owe time and green card time.
- 3:45Well-being broken down with a government vehicle.
- 3:49Yes, I did. It was about 90 minutes of O
- 3:52time for me. Yeah, it was just crazy.
- 3:55We waited as that. It was about an hour and a half
- 3:58before they were going to have tow company tow one of the other
- 4:02LLVS out there and pick that one up and an hour into waiting I'm
- 4:06calling going what's going on? And at that point they decided
- 4:11then to send somebody else out with the LLV and the supervisor
- 4:15came out to pick them up and called the tow company and told
- 4:19them just to come pick the the LLV up.
- 4:21And so yeah, that's about how that went.
- 4:29And then I was off. I yeah.
- 4:31And then I was off on Friday and Saturday and of course my annual
- 4:38tattoo, Motor City Tattoo Expo. And my bonus son was also in the
- 4:46state wrestling championships down at Ford Field and it was a
- 4:51good weekend all around. We knew have a new state champ
- 4:55in the household, so for Division Two, he completed his
- 5:00goal. Other than that, you know, that
- 5:04was my week wrapping up. That's awesome.
- 5:08Yeah, my week was my week was normal for me in the post
- 5:13office. Usual rigmarole and things like
- 5:16that. And then this weekend, Saturday,
- 5:19I spent several hours just writing up resolutions.
- 5:23I've already gotten 9 resolutions written for the next
- 5:27National Convention and working on more as I go along.
- 5:31Most of mine right now that I was working on start with the
- 5:34constitution and just simple things that affect rural
- 5:37carriers that the union can fix without having it.
- 5:41So binding resolutions and next next week or some other time I'm
- 5:46going to start working on non binding resolutions or
- 5:49contractual changes, things that require the post office to agree
- 5:53to. So those are the things that I'm
- 5:55working on. And then today I went and worked
- 5:58worked on the model railroad because he had a work session on
- 6:02it to fix things and find issues and stuff like that.
- 6:05You know, it's a never ending process there.
- 6:07And then I did do a breakdown of Don Masten's latest article from
- 6:14the desk of the NRLCA president, and he literally just backed up
- 6:20everything that I wrote about that happened at SWAC.
- 6:25And it was amazing to think that this man thought that he could
- 6:29turn around and tell me to make sure I quoted him correctly.
- 6:34And then I turned around and quoted him correctly from his
- 6:37own article in my breakdown. And I spread it around through a
- 6:40lot of different social media sites.
- 6:42So if you're on there, check them out, including the United
- 6:45We Scan podcast group. So you can check that out too in
- 6:50there. So it's #shameless plug, but I
- 6:56do have a couple of announcements to make.
- 6:59The first one is of course being sure, say, where you're getting
- 7:04your information from. You research it and make sure it
- 7:08is factually accurate, because there are a lot of sources out
- 7:13there, even union sources, that give inaccurate information.
- 7:20So you have to make sure you get it from the actual information
- 7:25sources like the Union page or sources that take it directly
- 7:31from the Union and give it out for people to get.
- 7:36Don't just trust that one person's going to give you the
- 7:39right answer. Make sure you do your research
- 7:43because even union officials get things wrong.
- 7:49And my second announcement is I have been getting reports that
- 7:55the Atlanta area is having issues with their processing
- 8:00plants that Mail's not going out, Radar reports are not
- 8:05getting updated with DPS information or any mail going
- 8:09out. So if you're in those areas, get
- 8:12a hold of us, let us know what's going on.
- 8:15We also have people that have been moved into S&D CS just
- 8:19before or during this mini mail survey get in touch with us.
- 8:23We want to know what's going on in those places.
- 8:24We want to know the issues, what's good, what's bad,
- 8:28everything that's going on. So get a hold of us, message us
- 8:31on the Facebook page. Messes us personally.
- 8:34Let us know what you got going on, because as it stands, the
- 8:40only information that we get is either the information the union
- 8:45allows the craft to get or from first hand knowledge from people
- 8:52who are actually involved in that.
- 8:54And we actually prefer the first hand knowledge over the edited
- 8:59and redacted information that the union gives out to us.
- 9:03So please, if you're involved in some of this stuff, let us know
- 9:06what's going on, give us the actual dealings that are
- 9:10happening out there. Because unfortunately, as we've
- 9:15noticed, even our union officials don't give us all the
- 9:20information that the craft deserves to have.
- 9:24Wouldn't you agree, Bill? Oh, hundred percent, 100%.
- 9:29And yeah, just a piggyback off of you in regards to our
- 9:34president. I have to laugh that, you know,
- 9:37almost nine months ago we sat here and talked about the MOU
- 9:41being worked into the contract. And here we are with our
- 9:46president saying basically, yeah, yeah, we're we're going to
- 9:51put it in there. And somewhere along those lines,
- 9:55regulars are going to be forced to carry on vacant routes.
- 10:00And ladies and gentlemen, that'll be today for
- 10:04impeachment. I don't know what articles we
- 10:07can invoke there, but there's no way that, yeah, we work too hard
- 10:13to be forced to do extra labor. We are not city carrier not
- 10:18adding on to the end of our routes.
- 10:20We work in evaluated system. We work it efficiently.
- 10:24We work at cost efficiently, you know, versus the city carriers.
- 10:28And we deserve any time that we can work under our evaluation.
- 10:32And then you're going to come back and tell us that, oh, since
- 10:35we have an hour, an hour, 15 minutes under our evaluation,
- 10:38you can go out and help on another route.
- 10:42Let me put this simply, kiss my ass.
- 10:47It's not happening when I'm president.
- 10:51Never will happen. That will never be part of our
- 10:55contract. That regulars could be forced
- 10:58help on vacant route. That's not part of our contract.
- 11:03That's not part of our our work responsibilities and duties.
- 11:09We won't tolerate it. I won't tolerate it.
- 11:15And unless we can come up with a new way of hiring quickly and
- 11:22expediently and getting new new bodies into the workforce,
- 11:26having them trained by people like Kristen, you know, and Oji
- 11:30is on on site, Until we get the Academies up and running
- 11:35efficiently with all the corrective information they need
- 11:39at their disposal, all the equipment they need, like James
- 11:42pointed out, they can go out and put these SCCS up with brand new
- 11:46equipment. Well, where's the old equipment
- 11:48going to? You know, your most of your
- 11:51growth is not going to be in these areas, going to be outside
- 11:54of these areas. It'll be in truly rural America.
- 11:59So what are you doing with all this excess equipment?
- 12:02Ladies and gentlemen, I don't ever, ever want to see a day
- 12:07where we are going to be forced to work like city carriers.
- 12:12We do a great job as a craft getting the product to our
- 12:18customers, watching out for our customers, watching out for each
- 12:22other. And we're entitled to any time
- 12:25we work under evaluation because they're not going to turn around
- 12:28and say, oh, by the way you worked over your valuation, let
- 12:32us pay you for that. That's not happening.
- 12:34That's how the contract reads. If you're over get nothing, if
- 12:38you're under, you get paid for the full day.
- 12:42And we've worked for that, We've earned it and they're not taking
- 12:45it away from us. Yeah, I've been.
- 12:48I've been shocked at all the information coming from our
- 12:54union and the fact that he is so brazen, to be that honest with
- 13:02us, about how he's working with management in this instance and
- 13:08how he's working for management in this instance.
- 13:12I have yet to see an article where he actually fully defends
- 13:18the craft. I've seen him basically tell us
- 13:24that world carriers have had it too good or too long.
- 13:28We worked too few hours for our pay and things like that.
- 13:35Where do you get off saying these things?
- 13:39And then you turn around and you have your Director of Steward
- 13:43Operations telling their carry their their stewards that they
- 13:51can't file grievances on behalf of the craft in contractual
- 13:55violations. When Article 15 says you can,
- 14:01Article 15 of our own damn contract says that the employee
- 14:07or the union can file a grievance, and it doesn't say it
- 14:13has to be a class action either. That is in a different
- 14:16paragraph, which makes it wholly different to the first part.
- 14:24The fact that you are sitting there and you are hamstringing
- 14:28your stewards from being able to protect this craft and then
- 14:33telling them just settle for language so it can be settled at
- 14:35the lowest level. Give management a slap on the
- 14:38hand, because management doesn't know any better.
- 14:42I'm sorry, since management's not bothering to train the rural
- 14:46carriers, why not take that time that you're supposed to be
- 14:49spending on the rural carriers and spend it teaching your
- 14:52management not to violate the contract?
- 14:57How much money they could save by just training the management
- 15:01on each contract that they're ahead of.
- 15:07Exactly. And and this, this goes back to
- 15:10Rex, OK. In in Ron Ronnie's letter of
- 15:13October 2022, he said specifically that it was
- 15:17management responsibility to train for Rex, not give them a
- 15:22CHEAT SHEET, not to give them, you know, the six scam speech,
- 15:26but to train the carrier. Find me an office where
- 15:30management has actually trained and I'll give you 1000 offices
- 15:35that never saw a lick of training.
- 15:39All we got was a printed out PowerPoint presentation.
- 15:41Yeah. All we got told was 6 scans,
- 15:46except when I stood up and started telling everybody about
- 15:49all the other scans. I even put on a free training,
- 15:53unpaid training for anybody that wanted it because I management,
- 15:59my management, who is actually good management, listens to the
- 16:04craft, listens to the carriers and doesn't push the envelope,
- 16:08said, well, you can't put it on here, but if you want to put on
- 16:12a training, we'll even tell people what's going on.
- 16:16So we set it up, I set it up, I got everything put together.
- 16:19I went through it, told everybody what was going on.
- 16:22Basically, if you want to know what was talked about in my
- 16:25training, go back and listen to our episode on activity scans,
- 16:28because that was the training information I gave out to them
- 16:32was that activity scanned episode for granted.
- 16:36Some of the information has been changed because our union likes
- 16:41to change things without telling us again.
- 16:44Another problem we have, but the gist of it is we had to do our
- 16:52own training because management wasn't going to do it.
- 16:57Our union leadership wasn't going to have the union do it.
- 17:01So we had to do it on our own and that's why 66% of routes
- 17:05lost money. And the union was not going to
- 17:09force management to do it either.
- 17:12In my office, a test office from the get go of rec OK, 1212 years
- 17:21ago, OK, we went up, we got training with the supervisor and
- 17:26everything came back it. It basically got put to the side
- 17:31for almost three years basically until the new scanners came out.
- 17:35But nobody, nobody in the office that I currently occupy,
- 17:40Westchester, Pennsylvania, nobody had any extensive
- 17:46training. They they went to a three hour
- 17:49seminar with with carriers and stewards and to this day doesn't
- 17:56know how to run a radar report, doesn't know how to do a get
- 18:00where go in the rims and get APTR.
- 18:04It it's it's this type of attitude.
- 18:09The laissez faire they have in regards to following the
- 18:13contractual language that's not being enforced from our D Rs up
- 18:18to our NR OS up to the National board.
- 18:21This should be a no compete clause in regards putting wrecks
- 18:26on hold because you have failed to fill your obligations under
- 18:32the contract. This is the detailed and
- 18:35contractual language that you were bound by, and you have done
- 18:41nothing of the sort. This isn't an easy system to
- 18:51understand. There's a hundred different
- 18:54standards as compared to the old system which had, what, 25?
- 18:59Those were easy to understand. Now you got to go through 3
- 19:03pages of your 4241 M to try to find everything and try to see
- 19:07if it matches your numbers. Yeah, and then you have
- 19:14disputes. You can't file a grievance on
- 19:16management not doing something for the mini mail survey.
- 19:20You have to file a dispute, which then goes up to district,
- 19:25which the district manager has to meet with the district
- 19:29manager at the the district level to resolve it.
- 19:34And of course, the district manager's going to say, well, I
- 19:37know nothing about this because he wasn't the one that did it.
- 19:41And then the the district, the district representative's going
- 19:43to sit there and go, well, since you know nothing about it, I
- 19:46guess we can't resolve this. We're going to just say that it
- 19:49doesn't matter and throw it back down to the carrier.
- 19:52And that's not how it should work here.
- 19:54No action required. Yeah, so it's pathetic.
- 20:00And then to turn around. Good.
- 20:03Turn around and give us at SWAC the PowerPoint presentation
- 20:08about the Mini Mail Survey. They could update the 99 page
- 20:13guide, the Q&A and everything else on the website for Rex, but
- 20:21they didn't update the Mini Mail survey PowerPoint for the
- 20:26conferences like it only took two minutes maximum to fix
- 20:31Update the PowerPoint to match everything that they've given
- 20:34away to the to the management. But they couldn't update it for
- 20:39SLAC or S, AC or any of the other ones.
- 20:42Maybe they'll have it updated for Atlantic or Western and
- 20:44maybe mid states but it wasn't updated for SLAC.
- 20:49What is their priority to screw over the craft it looks like?
- 20:55Well, Toasty was talking about, you know, justifying your
- 20:58numbers. It Ladies and gentlemen, how do
- 21:01you justify numbers when the 5th day of the mini mail survey, the
- 21:06supervisor finally puts a end of day report on your case and all
- 21:12the numbers for every previous day are there?
- 21:16Yeah, you've been sitting there waiting to do it every day
- 21:18because of the fact that, you know, you want to be able to
- 21:21cute everything every time it comes up as quickly as possible.
- 21:26But you're waiting five days for that.
- 21:28In the meantime, management's making the excuse that, oh,
- 21:32well, we can't get in the RIM, so we can't get that report.
- 21:35The radar report's not up. I've heard.
- 21:38Heard this across the country in regards to, hey, we can't print
- 21:43these reports. Why not?
- 21:47We got a request to speak. You want to invite that's.
- 21:51That's the crazy thing and management.
- 21:54Local management has no clue. District management has no clue.
- 21:59Regional management maybe has a clue.
- 22:02The only people that have a full clue of what's going on is
- 22:04national management and national leadership and they aren't
- 22:10telling anybody anything. And that is a problem.
- 22:15Transparency is not there. It's time to turn around and get
- 22:19our. Our national steward system,
- 22:22which was supposed to make information flowing much
- 22:27smoother, faster and easier, has resulted in less information or
- 22:34no information at all. It's time to turn that around.
- 22:37It's time to step up. It's time for our leadership to
- 22:40be somebody who cares about the craft, cares about the carriers
- 22:44on the ground, especially ones that are getting killed out
- 22:48there. Like the one down in Warren,
- 22:51though he was a city carrier, shot and killed.
- 22:57But yeah, we're more worried about stationary events, missing
- 23:01scans, things like that, instead of the safety of the carriers.
- 23:13And I I would like to invite whoever's listening for on
- 23:17behalf of the National Board to let Don know it's time for him
- 23:21to retire. OK, you have milked the craft.
- 23:25You have milked the union for enough money.
- 23:29You're never going to serve on your route in Sonora, CA.
- 23:34Do us all a favor. Step aside.
- 23:37Let me be president and let me show you how to take care of the
- 23:42craft and not yourself. This is not about your golden
- 23:46parachute. This is not about padding your
- 23:49retirement income because you got a over evaluated route in
- 23:54Sonora, CA that 2 Subs have to service.
- 23:59This is not about getting your high threes.
- 24:02This is about taking care of the people who pay your damn Check.
- 24:08The ones who are suffering under mismanagement, hostile work work
- 24:14environments, you know, threat, threats and intimidation every
- 24:19day. Helping on other routes.
- 24:22Working Saturdays, working their drop days, working on Amazon
- 24:27Sundays. If that's at that's in the
- 24:29office and having no personal life whatsoever, they're not
- 24:35afforded the luxury you have done of having your spouse in
- 24:39your house that we paid for in Alexandria, VA They're not
- 24:44afforded traveling to the conferences and the convention
- 24:49that you are with your spouse and the rest of the members of
- 24:54the national board. No, they're slogging away every
- 24:58damn day, putting up with the situations like in Atlanta
- 25:03during a mini mail survey, putting up with situations where
- 25:06they have no RC as whatsoever. The RC as are being sent 50
- 25:11miles away. I I sat there and I I laughed
- 25:15and cried when somebody said, oh, they're sending me to an
- 25:18office that's almost two hours away.
- 25:21And and I posed the question, how far?
- 25:24Oh, it's almost 100 miles. What in God's name is going on
- 25:29that this is happening without the steward system being
- 25:33involved? Maybe the carrier doesn't know
- 25:35any better because they're under a a threat.
- 25:39Maybe they're a new RCA and they're past their two week pay
- 25:41period so now they can be sent out to other offices and they
- 25:45don't know any better. Ladies and gentlemen, step up
- 25:49and help your brothers and sisters, union or non union.
- 25:52If they do this shit to one of us, they do it to all of us and
- 25:56it needs to stop. Exactly, exactly.
- 26:04And our steward system needs to step up.
- 26:07Our steward system needs to start turning around and putting
- 26:11their foot down on management. I understand that a lot of them
- 26:15don't want to deal with management and don't want to
- 26:18deal with fighting with management and our conflict
- 26:21avoidant when it comes to management.
- 26:24But it's time for them to step up.
- 26:26It's time for them to grieve the issues that are going on in
- 26:30these offices and it's time for leadership to start putting
- 26:35their foot down on management. Because the longer we are
- 26:40treated like this, the longer management gets away with this,
- 26:44the harder it's going to be to come back from it.
- 26:53This, this, this. James and everybody listening,
- 26:57this is a critical year for contract negotiation and if you
- 27:02think anybody on that board who hasn't been on their route
- 27:06years, let alone handling the new MDD scanners or the the 4th
- 27:11reiteration of Rex understands what we're going through, you're
- 27:17fooling yourself and they don't care.
- 27:21They've got it made. They will never work their
- 27:25routes again. And they're up there because of
- 27:30cronyism, politics, I yeah, I don't know.
- 27:36But they're not up there for us. That I do know.
- 27:41And we need to change that. We need to change it this year.
- 27:51I can't believe that they would be so brazen to turn around and
- 27:58make these statements right in front of craft members, right in
- 28:04front of carriers that are out here on the streets doing this
- 28:08day in and day out. The fact that that the only time
- 28:13the group clapped was when he talked about freeloaders and
- 28:20scabs and used a striking term, scabs.
- 28:27And yes, some people are going to correct me that that's not
- 28:29the only term for it. But in the modern day when it
- 28:32comes to unions, the term scab really does mean a person who
- 28:38crosses A picket line to work while the union is striking.
- 28:45So the question I got to ask is, Don, you said the term scab at
- 28:49SWAC and then you talk about the private industry doing striking.
- 28:54So are you actually violating federal law by calling for a
- 28:58postal strike? Is that what you're doing, Don?
- 29:03Oh, remember you also got another clap whenever they were
- 29:06talking about the Decertify movement and how shame on them.
- 29:12Well, why didn't you listen to what they had to say?
- 29:14Why don't you listen to what everyone was upset about, why
- 29:18the whole decertified movement was even there?
- 29:22Because we don't get anything from the board.
- 29:24We don't get any communication. Nobody knew about the mini Mail
- 29:28survey until exactly 30 days before, at the very last minute
- 29:32that they had to post it. Yeah, the fact that his very
- 29:42first article in in the magazine was completely about the
- 29:47decertify movement and he turned around and said that it was a
- 29:51bunch of non dues paying people. Which totally was a lie, because
- 29:57I've talked with many of the people within the decertify
- 30:00movement and over half of the people that signed the decertify
- 30:05movement are dues paying members and even the board wasn't
- 30:12willing to listen to dues paying members.
- 30:15Well, I guess I shouldn't actually have to say that
- 30:18because it's pretty obvious that they don't listen to dues paying
- 30:21members. So why wouldn't they take the
- 30:25time to find out why people don't want to pay dues into this
- 30:30union? Why are people pulling their
- 30:32dues from this union? The answer is simple because the
- 30:36union doesn't listen to the people that pay the dues.
- 30:41They don't listen to the craft. And Don even admitted he's not
- 30:46listening to the craft. When he said he's not going to
- 30:49try and use all of the resolutions that the craft put
- 30:55up to the board, he said he's only going to take 20 or 30 of
- 30:58them into negotiations. Now, I can understand taking
- 31:02some of them and setting them aside because they match other
- 31:06ones, but the fact that you're blatantly saying you're going to
- 31:09throw out most of the resolutions that people put up
- 31:15tells me you're still not listening to the craft.
- 31:20I don't think they're ever going to listen to the craft.
- 31:22They only listen to themselves. And mind you, they he stated
- 31:26that they started out with 400 resolution and they they whittle
- 31:31it down to 20 to 30 and he says, and I prefer to have it closer
- 31:35to 20. Well, you know that other ten
- 31:39that are in there might not be representing the majority of the
- 31:44craft as a whole, but those 10 May be representing 70% of the
- 31:50crap just on different issues. So how do you factor that in
- 31:57there, Don? How, how do you balance that
- 32:00saying 70% of the people are affected by these 10, but that
- 32:04since there's not one issue, we're going to disregard them
- 32:08because they don't they they represent the majority.
- 32:11You represent everybody. Every single carrier do your
- 32:19damn job. Yeah, and I bet, I bet you that
- 32:28he's going to try to put in that that change to where regular
- 32:33carriers can volunteer to work on other routes.
- 32:36Even though it was voted down last year at the National
- 32:40Convention, I remember that one being up there and everybody
- 32:43voting no on that. I think it was 90% of the
- 32:46audience minimum voted no on that.
- 32:48If I remember looking around the room didn't get a head count.
- 32:52So don't quote me on the percentage, but it was voted
- 32:55down and yet he's still going to try and put it in the contract.
- 32:58The one I bet he's probably already removed is the one I put
- 33:02in to make RC as career RC as where they actually can start
- 33:07earning towards retirement like every other craft in the Postal
- 33:10Service. You know, Don said he was going
- 33:14to be monitoring the NALC closely.
- 33:16Well, it's funny that they have that provision in their
- 33:19contract, but we don't. And then he also mentioned about
- 33:25the PTF position expanding that, but like you said before in the
- 33:31pregame chat, it's they're only guaranteed 2K routes and that's
- 33:37it. If there's not any K routes,
- 33:39especially thanks to RRECS after these past couple accounts, then
- 33:45where does that leave all these Rcas who are only getting one
- 33:48day every other week, or those on H routes and only take the
- 33:52vacation days? Well, that's where you you come
- 33:57up with Table 5 for RCRC. You know RC as career that that
- 34:05way they they don't get penalized for being, you know,
- 34:08the full career PTF position in their dues paying, but they are
- 34:12eligible for career benefit. Somebody just said, Bill, don't
- 34:18give them any ideas. That's the point we we want to
- 34:23give them the ideas. So then we can turn around and
- 34:25point to them and say, oh look, they actually listened to the
- 34:29podcast and decided to make this change because the Craft wants
- 34:33this change and we're talking about what the Craft wants on
- 34:36this podcast. So they're going to turn around
- 34:39and they're going to take what we say on this podcast and try
- 34:42to to put it into their system so they can try and earn back
- 34:46the votes that they've already lost over all the bullshit that
- 34:49they've talked. No, Yeah.
- 34:54And and we welcome the the listening to us because guess
- 34:57what, we do represent the craft. You know from an OGI to stewards
- 35:03to state officers to local officers to to regular career
- 35:08carriers to Rcas, we represent the whole spectrum of the craft.
- 35:13So you're not getting a microcosm of just five
- 35:16individuals up here talking their heads off.
- 35:19Well four because Josh is disposed of.
- 35:23But the fact of the matter is that we are the craft, and you
- 35:28have no idea what's going on out there.
- 35:31If you did, you'd probably have an aneurysm right now because
- 35:36you wouldn't want to tolerate that in your office.
- 35:40But since you haven't been in your office in 1015 years, who
- 35:44gives a rat's ass as long as they pay their dues and you get
- 35:46your check right? You mean like the aneurysms that
- 35:50we have every week listening to all the problems that are going
- 35:53on in this Union? Like I said, you know at least
- 35:5940 people at SWAC approached me and and basically verified and
- 36:05validated every Horror Story you hear or see on any social media
- 36:12type page is going on and it's going on for real.
- 36:17This is not you know people making stuff up.
- 36:20It it almost word for word verbatim was exactly what you
- 36:26read online. And it's scary and it's
- 36:30saddening. I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 36:35I mean, yeah. Let's go back to the lady that
- 36:37was crying at the National Convention a couple years ago
- 36:41about how she's being treated at her office.
- 36:45How did that go over? I mean, you know, was that
- 36:48actually resolved? I would like to know if it was,
- 36:51but here's a grown woman crying on the floor in front of 1200
- 36:56people about the horrendous atmosphere she works in.
- 37:04People are on the floor begging for help from the national
- 37:08board. They're begging them to help fix
- 37:11the issues in their offices. They're begging for leadership
- 37:16to institute Mou 25 on hostile management, violations of the
- 37:22Joint Statement on Workplace Violence and harassment, things
- 37:27like that. And what does leadership do?
- 37:31We'll get back to you on that. We'll look into that.
- 37:34But they never do. The problems stem from the top.
- 37:42The problems stem from management top.
- 37:45We have management getting daily telecoms from their district
- 37:52managers who are just reaming them, a new asshole who are just
- 37:58constantly belittling them, treating them like garbage.
- 38:03And it's no wonder why a lot of offices management's treat them
- 38:07like garbage because the ones just above their managers are
- 38:11treating them like garbage. And as they say, shit rolls
- 38:14downhill and it's rolling downhill right onto the
- 38:17carriers. And the one thing I am deathly
- 38:22afraid of is that we have another Royal Oak or another
- 38:28Memphis, another one of those. Because leadership at the
- 38:36National Union level in all in not just our union, but the city
- 38:42union, the clerk union, are not taking the steps to protect the
- 38:48carriers. And in today's day and age, it's
- 38:53becoming more and more likely to happen.
- 38:56And I am deathly afraid of that. I live not too far from Royal
- 39:02Oak. We have carriers who work at the
- 39:05Memphis post office. We have carriers that work at
- 39:08the Royal Oak post office. What's going to finally give to
- 39:16get the union to actually step up and protect the craft?
- 39:23It's going to take delegates voting for new leadership
- 39:28because this leadership doesn't have the balls to do it.
- 39:34Hey guys, I'm going to add something on that real quick.
- 39:38Not only was carriers plugging and pleading on the National
- 39:42Convention floor and Royal Oak in Memphis.
- 39:46And what about the carriers that have taken their own lives
- 39:50because of how they've been treated at work?
- 39:52Or, you know, the ones that have lost the wrecks?
- 39:55How about the ones that have attempted to take their own
- 40:00lives and have constant PTSD because of the management that
- 40:04they have to deal with on a daily basis when they have gone
- 40:07to their through their national steward system and nothing has
- 40:10been taken care of? And they are literally scared to
- 40:14death to go to work every day. But they need that job to make
- 40:17them to meet at home. That reminds me of a window
- 40:22clerk we had in Westchester and something came up and she was up
- 40:28for Apdi and she went home and committed suicide.
- 40:35And she was, she was an elderly woman, I'll say late 60s, maybe
- 40:41even 70, and still had to work, you know, because of her
- 40:45family's situation. And one day, 11 little thing
- 40:50just pushed her over and everybody had thought maybe she
- 40:55had passed away because nobody had gotten any details.
- 40:59And then four days later, we found out she took her own life
- 41:03because she was stressed out. She left a note saying how she
- 41:06was stressed out about losing her job.
- 41:11Folks, nobody should ever be put in this situation.
- 41:14There's the gentleman in Tennessee that I've spoken
- 41:17about, injured on the job as an RCA and I won't mention his name
- 41:22and sat in the parking lot at a gun store considering going in
- 41:27and buying a gun. That's what you're pushing
- 41:31people into. And don't tell me it's an
- 41:34isolated incident. It isn't.
- 41:36And if you lose one person, one carrier, 1 clerk that way,
- 41:42that's one too many. Nobody should ever get to that
- 41:46point. Sure, you can talk about mental
- 41:49health issues, family issues, and everything else, but what
- 41:54are we if not a family? And why can't we take care of
- 41:59each other? We're.
- 42:03Talking about this, if you really want to hear what
- 42:07management thinks when somebody goes through this, when somebody
- 42:12actually commits one of these heinous acts, go listen to From
- 42:178 arbitration. He's doing a series on the
- 42:19Memphis issue and the grievance that the NALC filed and he
- 42:27actually went and arbitrated this in front of an arbitrator.
- 42:32And you can hear the postal inspectors disdain for the
- 42:37union, the management's disdain for the carrier and the union
- 42:45and how the union with Corey fighting for them is trying to
- 42:50expose management's treatment of carriers.
- 42:57That is worth a listen to everybody here.
- 43:00I know I'm plugging a different podcast than our own, but it
- 43:03really will open your eyes. Yeah, I've been lessening that
- 43:08past couple of past couple of weeks.
- 43:11It's on Episode 2 as far as I know right now.
- 43:14But just trying to trying to get through what management is
- 43:20basically lying about half the time or they trip over their
- 43:23answers or even management's advocate basically leading the
- 43:29questions during arbitration. It's frustrating and everything.
- 43:34And then also seeing people posting on some of these groups
- 43:38about our own OWCP representative for the NAL and
- 43:44National Rule Letter Carriers Association, being rude and
- 43:49pushing people off and being short with them.
- 43:54Like for that carrier in Tennessee, the RCA that got
- 43:57injured on the job, that's what he has to deal with too.
- 44:01That's what any of us have to deal with if we try to use him
- 44:03as our representative. Frustrating.
- 44:09That's why if I got injured, I wouldn't be going to our our
- 44:12NRLCA guy. I'd be going to Ron Speakman
- 44:15first. I'd be getting my information
- 44:18from him because he knows OWCP inside.
- 44:23Now with the Fed Up podcast, you can go listen to his too.
- 44:25He's got some great episodes on there, but the information you
- 44:30need to have and how quickly you need it, I'd rather get it from
- 44:34somebody who actually responds to you in a timely manner so
- 44:38that you can actually get the help you need as soon as
- 44:42possible. Because anytime you're injured
- 44:44on the job, you need to be cured quickly, efficiently and OWCP is
- 44:51neither quick nor efficient. And the whole goal of OWCP is to
- 44:56get you back to work as as quickly and efficiently as
- 44:58possible. But they make it so difficult
- 45:01for you to do. And having somebody on your side
- 45:03that can advocate for you and help you through all the whole
- 45:07process is the most important part of all of this.
- 45:10And our OWCP Rep doesn't do that.
- 45:14I'm just disgusted with the whole thing.
- 45:16You know, I'm disgusted with the politics.
- 45:20I I'm disgusted with the self centeredness.
- 45:25Who who's somebody put up there? Do you risk?
- 45:29It's not about me. It's not about James or Toasty,
- 45:36Josh, Kristen, anybody. It's about the craft.
- 45:41And the craft is Bill May, James Brennan, it's Kristen White.
- 45:47It's April, Cutter. It's, it's Jacques there.
- 45:52And Jacques, it's about all of us and it's it's about us being
- 45:59treated as individuals, about being treated and respected as
- 46:05human beings. We're we're the last step in in
- 46:10the delivery operations. We're the last step of the
- 46:13service the United States Postal Service provides to all of
- 46:18America. And for some reason, we seem to
- 46:23be the dumping ground. Why?
- 46:26What? Why is that?
- 46:29Now, from my office, in my perspective, I have a bunch of
- 46:34supervisors who were never carriers.
- 46:37They were all clerked. They are in fear of the postmask
- 46:42who's in fear of the district manager.
- 46:45Because if they don't get on their telecoms, if they don't
- 46:47get their reports done in a timely fashion, if they have any
- 46:51issues with integrity scams, if they have any missed scans,
- 46:55These are just numbers, folks. We're talking about people's
- 46:58lives, OK? And we know the numbers are the
- 47:03business. Business is the numbers.
- 47:06But at some point there has to be some type of connection with
- 47:12human being. Not reports, not percentages,
- 47:18not, you know, completions. And and and everything else,
- 47:24we're talking about the interaction between human being,
- 47:27treating them respectfully, with dignity, the same way you expect
- 47:32to be treated. But that's not what's happening
- 47:36in the post office. And I can't say it's
- 47:40intentional, but it's pretty damn close to being intentional
- 47:44in how they treat everybody, the city carriers, the clerks, the
- 47:50rule carriers, even the custodian, you know, to a
- 47:53certain degree in my office. But the problem of it is that we
- 47:59should be working together. We shouldn't be fighting each
- 48:03other. But for some reason this seems
- 48:07to be their mentality to try to beat us up, try to rob us of
- 48:13what we're entitled to, of trying to take money out of our
- 48:17pockets to to basically dehumanize us and turn us into
- 48:21robots. OK, I've seen the plants where,
- 48:24you know the clerks are being replaced by robots that are sort
- 48:28and parcels and taking them over to gaylords and being shipped
- 48:30to, you know the different offices or different routes.
- 48:34But that's the modernization of of modern America.
- 48:38OK, all all this AI and robotics, machinery, it's all
- 48:45part of being lean, mean, efficient and profitable.
- 48:51But the problem of it is you still have to work with people.
- 48:57And they have seen the forgotten this They they they put their
- 49:00own interests above ours. Now there's no problem with the
- 49:04supervisor bringing in their kid who's two years old on a
- 49:08Saturday, or there's no problem with another supervisor bringing
- 49:12in two of your teenagers and having them throw parcels on a
- 49:16parcel sorting line. But God forbid you have to take
- 49:22a day off because your child's sick.
- 49:25Or you have to take care of an elderly parent because God knows
- 49:30we can't do with you without you on your route.
- 49:34Isn't that funny? We can do without management,
- 49:37but they can't do without us. What does that tell you in the
- 49:41line of importance where rural carriers should be placed at?
- 49:47We're the number one line. You guys aren't even in the
- 49:53picture, so get off our backs, work with us, treat us decently
- 50:02and you'll reciprocate in kind. If not, the carriers are out
- 50:08there who have the knowledge and experience we know how to make
- 50:12your life a living hell. Not saying that we will, but we
- 50:17can. Like I tell every customer that
- 50:21gets a little snotty with me, I just remind them I know where
- 50:24you live and they look at you and they laugh and it's like, oh
- 50:28shit, he does. Don't mess with the best craft
- 50:35in the United States Postal Service.
- 50:39Exactly. Treat us with humanity and we
- 50:42will treat you with humanity. Treat us like garbage and we're
- 50:46going to bury you in paperwork. We're going to bury you in so
- 50:50much paperwork. Your kids are going to need help
- 50:54with the paperwork because this craft is the most important
- 51:00thing to each and every person on this podcast.
- 51:04We wouldn't be doing this if we didn't care about the craft.
- 51:09We wouldn't be sitting here and using our personal time for no
- 51:14pay to talk to the craft and help the craft and get the craft
- 51:19where they need to be. Because we actually care that
- 51:23much about you, the carrier, to do this.
- 51:29And I don't care if you are just a lowly arc RCA or regular rural
- 51:37carrier, retired rural carrier, if you're an ADRADR, even if
- 51:43you're in the national steward system, the regionals or even
- 51:47our national board, we want you listening to this craft just
- 51:51like we listen to this craft. We're telling you exactly what
- 51:55the craft is telling us. So listen, pay attention, get
- 52:02the answers you need, Research and make sure that whatever is
- 52:07happening you know about, because an educated craft is the
- 52:13bane of management. I have to agree, I am home now,
- 52:20so if there's anything you guys want me to speak up on, please
- 52:23let me know before we end. Oh, go for it.
- 52:27I mean, you've been listening to the whole thing pretty much.
- 52:29So if you've got any opinions, let us.
- 52:31No, not quite, not quite. I had a few dead spots there, so
- 52:37I didn't hear as much as I was hoping to.
- 52:40Sorry guys, I haven't been on all that too much tonight, but I
- 52:43was driving home and had to go get my doggy.
- 52:46So, well, what's your opinion on leadership and the training
- 52:51systems that are going on in the SD in DC, things like that?
- 52:57I I'm curious. I'm going to reach out to my
- 53:00girlfriend and find out how things are going for her in New
- 53:05York. So I can definitely be able to
- 53:11find out from her how that's going.
- 53:14Other than that, you know I haven't heard anything great per
- 53:19SE as of yet. Anyways, from the carrier's
- 53:22perspective, I know walking distances are a pain in the
- 53:25butt, but other than that, it's pretty much what I've heard
- 53:28lately and I I honestly, I can't even put an opinion out there
- 53:37without even hearing first hand. Well, what's your opinion on
- 53:42them putting these new casing equipments in the S&D CS and
- 53:48then scrapping all the old equipment from the offices that
- 53:52they pulled the carriers from? My opinion, which I've stated
- 53:55before on that I if there's academies that need equipment,
- 53:58they should be using that old equipment and taking them to the
- 54:00academies. I mean, why not We, we, if we
- 54:05have the old equipment available, these academies that
- 54:08are short equipment, it's right there.
- 54:11Why not just send it up to where it needs to go?
- 54:15Number one, Yeah, new equipment, great, be great.
- 54:19If all of us could get new equipment, I know quite a few of
- 54:22us that could use it. But I think honestly, in order
- 54:24to sufficiently train and some of these academies that don't
- 54:29have the proper equipment, then that's where it needs to go.
- 54:36You know, in my office we still have some of the old static
- 54:38shelf cases where they can only fit in, you know, for six rows.
- 54:44There's no adjustability whatsoever to them.
- 54:47That's how old some of our equipment is.
- 54:50Yeah, yeah, ours is too. We have.
- 54:52We have. We have one of those.
- 54:54We have we have one case in our office that was brought over
- 54:58when they consolidated the two RMPOS, the routes and and we
- 55:05don't even have the proper plastics to put on to to do
- 55:09labels. So I can't tell you how thick
- 55:12those labels are on there because it's impossible to tear
- 55:16them off after so much and and they're stuck on and all the
- 55:19other labels that we have that fit the rest of the cases don't
- 55:22fit that case. I mean just the the minor stuff
- 55:26like that is it's ridiculous and even me, you know I asked for
- 55:31for my case because I want you know one inch for every you know
- 55:36address. Not only is that something I
- 55:38prefer, but it also would help my RCA that's assigned to my
- 55:42route. You know some of those that are,
- 55:44you know that I have to have you know half inch slot for these
- 55:48addresses to fit it all in. I asked for either a wing or I
- 55:53want you know 6 shelves because I only have 5 and I was told
- 55:58Nope can't get a wing. I'm still waiting to find out if
- 56:01I can get the shelves or not. Yeah, God forbid they give you
- 56:07the equipment. Do the job efficiently.
- 56:11Oh, I know. I mean we're we're not asking,
- 56:14we're not asking for yeah a Volvo right hand drive delivery
- 56:18truck or anything you know with all-wheel drive and you know 280
- 56:23horsepower and all we're we're looking for equipment to do our
- 56:27jobs. That's it, what's the big deal.
- 56:31We were in our office, one of our newer routes that has a lot
- 56:34of new subdivisions on it. They didn't have a whole right
- 56:38side because there was no equipment, could be asking for
- 56:42equipment, asking for equipment, couldn't do anything.
- 56:45They finally took away the three M case, try to put it there.
- 56:48Well, it only has three shelves that are static.
- 56:51You can't add any more shelves. So they finally got one right
- 56:55before count, and they're having that carrier coming at six
- 56:58instead of 8:00 like everyone else so they can try to get
- 57:02through their route because mapping's all messed up on it
- 57:04now. Yeah, it's funny.
- 57:11We had cases in my office. Go ahead.
- 57:17We had case. We had cases in my office that
- 57:19had wings on them. They moved everybody to from 5
- 57:23shelves to six shelves, got rid of all the wings and sent them
- 57:28to somewhere else and they disappeared.
- 57:32And now we have a have a route that we had to get a case
- 57:36shipped in from another office because they couldn't find
- 57:40another one. And I think it came from
- 57:42Ipsilanti to get to my office and because they closed one of
- 57:48the Ipsilanti offices and merged them into another office.
- 57:52So they had a few case pieces left.
- 57:54So we got one of those for them. They're the only case in our
- 57:58office that has 5 cases. Everybody else only gets three
- 58:05and a lot and a lot of them are packed up and that person
- 58:07actually needs another wing to be able to have the one inch
- 58:11slot minimums, but they won't give them that wing to do that.
- 58:15I had my former postmaster when she came in.
- 58:20All except for all the routes that had a wing except for the
- 58:23one. She made them double sell the
- 58:26addresses to get rid of the equipment because she didn't
- 58:29want it. And then yeah, so that's what
- 58:36we're we're looking at. You know, it's because she
- 58:39didn't like the extra wings sticking out.
- 58:45Or you get rid of the the the four drawer filing cabinet out
- 58:49of your postmaster's office because it wasn't the right
- 58:53power. And then she ordered a new one.
- 59:00Hold on, hold on. Great use of.
- 59:03It still, it still worked as a filing cab, but it wasn't the
- 59:07right color. I didn't know we were going for
- 59:11office motifs here. Like, no.
- 59:16One, No one sees it anyways. I mean, St.
- 59:20Postmaster got rid of all the coffins and all the shelves that
- 59:23people had for hold mail and put these little particle board
- 59:26shelving things in. One we had to completely redo
- 59:29because she's the closest to the door.
- 59:31So any of the moisture from people's boots going by and and
- 59:35anything like that pretty much made the sucker fall apart on
- 59:38its own. Go ahead, Toasty, get them.
- 59:47I don't know. I'm just thinking back to last
- 59:49year when postmaster generals in front of Congress.
- 59:54How many of those Congress people were saying rule America
- 59:57needs the post office. If you watch through though,
- 1:00:01like it's three hours. It's a long, long video, but
- 1:00:07over half of them complain about understaffing about boxes, blue
- 1:00:13boxes being taken away, collection boxes being taken
- 1:00:16away and moved it. It's frustrating that.
- 1:00:21Nobody's even paying attention to those Congress people who are
- 1:00:24representing their constituents who get complaints all the time
- 1:00:29about especially postal stuff. Like my own congressman sat up
- 1:00:35there and he's actually on the oversight committee and said I
- 1:00:38thought this job was going to be about bills and about veteran
- 1:00:41and helping veterans and a majority of his calls are about
- 1:00:44postal. It's just proof that even the
- 1:00:51public is realizing that they're losing trust in the postal
- 1:00:58services plan. And I'm going to tell you this,
- 1:01:01I was just talking with somebody the other day about this and how
- 1:01:05Masten was touting Dejoy's 10 year plan and how great these
- 1:01:10S&D CS are with clean brand new equipment, clean buildings and
- 1:01:15things like that. And I'm looking at it going,
- 1:01:18yeah, he's working towards a plan where eventually we're not
- 1:01:22going to be delivering to all of these houses.
- 1:01:25Mass has said that we're slowly becoming a parcel delivery
- 1:01:29service. So we're going to become the
- 1:01:31United States Parcel Service. Well, I'm sorry.
- 1:01:34This past week I've had the most mail I've had since before
- 1:01:38Christmas, and it's not even political mail in mind, but I've
- 1:01:43had more mail in this past week during the mini mail survey that
- 1:01:46I have before Christmas. Can you explain that one to me?
- 1:01:51That we're apparently becoming a parcel service, but yet I still
- 1:01:54have more mail now than before Slack.
- 1:02:00The numbers don't add. Up my my office is reporting
- 1:02:04that all of a sudden all the markups are not coming back to
- 1:02:08us again during the mini mail survey.
- 1:02:12And I said, well how bad is it? The one carrier said, Bill, I
- 1:02:18had 9 Miss Sorts and we have, we have two zip codes in our office
- 1:02:24and I said, which one yet And they said 80 And I said, OK, I
- 1:02:30said what about the A twos? Oh they had the normal stuff.
- 1:02:32So apparently they ran the eight OS through the machine twice,
- 1:02:38probably because of the fact that a carrier had turned around
- 1:02:41and tried to put up that they had 1000 Miss Sorts in there. 3
- 1:02:48trays of DPS. I'm sitting there going folks.
- 1:02:53You know you can fudge the answers sometimes, but at that
- 1:02:58point you got to realize there's something wrong with this
- 1:03:01picture. Don't don't try to cheat the
- 1:03:05system that much, OK? Be ethical about it.
- 1:03:10But the Miss sorts and everything that haven't shown up
- 1:03:14and the the the fact that the your all your mark UPS are not
- 1:03:17coming back. Isn't that amazing How all of a
- 1:03:20sudden it it it starts during a mini mail survey and the day
- 1:03:25after we'll right, we'll be right back the first base and
- 1:03:28you'll be getting all your stuff back?
- 1:03:35All right, you guys about ready to wrap this up for the night?
- 1:03:39Well, Chris is. I was going to say that.
- 1:03:47So Kristen, you want to start us off with your final thoughts for
- 1:03:51the night? Well since I'm going to have to
- 1:03:54go back and listen to this after it's done and I post it up.
- 1:03:58So I apologize for not being present for most of the night
- 1:04:02guys but you know it was my family weekend away and what
- 1:04:06not. But yeah we got one more week
- 1:04:10left of the mini mail survey. Be interesting, I know my RCA,
- 1:04:16the few days that I was able to kind of check and see he was
- 1:04:18doing a good job. I will put this out there that
- 1:04:21management finally let him run the route Thursday completely on
- 1:04:25his own while I was out doing the OJT.
- 1:04:27Didn't have anybody help him. He got back to the office 30
- 1:04:31minutes under evaluation on a nine hour route.
- 1:04:36I mean I can't complain about that one bit.
- 1:04:41I've talked to my Co worker when I went and picked up my dog, he
- 1:04:43was doing just fine moving right along Saturday.
- 1:04:47So yeah, I'm just waiting to see when I get to finish the OJT
- 1:04:51with the other one. Now that we're down the LLV,
- 1:04:53that's with the jump seat in it. So on that note guys, one more
- 1:04:59week left of any mail survey, Everybody can stay safe out
- 1:05:02there. I will definitely be back next
- 1:05:05week for a full episode. Next week is also a spring
- 1:05:08booster for James and I, so that should be interesting to see
- 1:05:10what we hear and find out as well.
- 1:05:13And yeah, I'll let you guys finish this up for tonight.
- 1:05:19Chum, Steve, your final thoughts.
- 1:05:23Kind of going off of what Bill was just finishing up with, be
- 1:05:27ethical, Be honest. Don't give management anything
- 1:05:31to try to bring back on you. Especially when you're trying to
- 1:05:34file these disputes and grievances because they'll try
- 1:05:37to take it. And you give them an inch,
- 1:05:39they're going to take a mile. Just breathe.
- 1:05:43Count what you need to count. Let's get through this.
- 1:05:47And. See each other on the other
- 1:05:48side. We got one week left, like
- 1:05:51Kristen said. And then after that, not too
- 1:05:55much stress. Just keep doing the job.
- 1:05:58Keep going at it. Bill, your final thoughts.
- 1:06:08Well, after reading our President's latest edition of
- 1:06:14Forming the Craft, I have to say that I'm really disappointed
- 1:06:20that you would even consider the MOU being extended.
- 1:06:25I'd have to say I'm disappointed in considering that you're going
- 1:06:28to put this into the contract. I'm really disappointed that you
- 1:06:33don't know that we're not on call seven days a week.
- 1:06:38I mean the the glaring deficiency in in understanding
- 1:06:41the craft is prevalent to the point of saying, OK, you're not
- 1:06:48only in bed with the United States Postal Service, you're
- 1:06:51incompetent to the point of impeachment.
- 1:06:55The only problem is with the articles of impeachment that
- 1:06:57were posted up is that you have basically two positions out of
- 1:07:02three that would be a national board member or appointee.
- 1:07:08So that that would fly in the face of actually being fair in
- 1:07:14regards to that action. But guess what?
- 1:07:18It's it's an option to be considered.
- 1:07:21And the other option is both the delegates that represent your
- 1:07:25point of views, send them to the National Convention, Let them
- 1:07:29vote on the next president. It doesn't have to be me, but it
- 1:07:34can't be done. Can't be done.
- 1:07:37Madison folks, if we go down this path, God bless you all
- 1:07:42that are that are going to be left in this situation because
- 1:07:47it's going to go downhill, that there's got to be a change in
- 1:07:50leadership. There's got to be a full scale
- 1:07:52change on the national board, not just the the president, but
- 1:07:56the other four positions, you know, well, basically three
- 1:07:59positions that need to be corrected.
- 1:08:03Hopefully there is somebody that is a NRO might step up.
- 1:08:08I won't say his name, but I think he's the best promise for
- 1:08:12the future. He's not fully indoctrinated in
- 1:08:16the, I'll say Gang of Nine mentality and from all areas of
- 1:08:26of concern and discussions I've had with him and others about
- 1:08:30him, he's a stand up individual. But that might come down the the
- 1:08:36the Pike a little long, you know, a little ways down the
- 1:08:38road. But we can't, we can't vote Don
- 1:08:43back in there, can't keep going down this road.
- 1:08:47It's been going on for almost 20 years now and look where we're
- 1:08:51at. It's been 12 years since the
- 1:08:55inception of the idea of Rex and look where we're at.
- 1:09:00Look where we're at as a craft vision management and the union
- 1:09:05has caused among the people who work on the floor with you, we
- 1:09:10should be helping each other, not at each other's throats.
- 1:09:15You got another week in the mini mail survey.
- 1:09:18Like I said, be ethical. You know you have to live with
- 1:09:21yourself. Do the right thing.
- 1:09:24Do the job as best as you can to your ability.
- 1:09:26Fight for everything you think you're entitled to.
- 1:09:30Remember 2 best words that during the mini mail survey.
- 1:09:34Carrier discretion. And with that, go out and have a
- 1:09:38safe week. Do your job diligently.
- 1:09:41Watch out for your customers and your neighborhoods.
- 1:09:44Make sure you get your ass home because you're the most
- 1:09:47important delivery of the day and we don't want any situation
- 1:09:51popping up in the future where we lose a carrier or carriers in
- 1:09:57offices because of what's going on in the United States Postal
- 1:10:01Service. Watch out for each other.
- 1:10:04Get home to your loved ones. God bless you.
- 1:10:11Thanks for all this and Kristen for letting me run things
- 1:10:14tonight. I concur with everything that
- 1:10:17people have said here tonight reading the article today.
- 1:10:22If there is any person that is listening to this that still
- 1:10:25supports Don Mastin to be President of this union after
- 1:10:30his comments at SWAC that I posted online and the comments
- 1:10:33he posted in his article this month, then you need to really
- 1:10:40re evaluate what he means to his craft because he is taking us
- 1:10:45down a dark Rd. that we're not going to be able to come back
- 1:10:49from. And if we continue down this
- 1:10:52path there won't be a rural craft anymore.
- 1:10:55We'll be a city craft. And at that point, we might as
- 1:10:59well join the NALC because we're going to be exactly identical to
- 1:11:04them and we'll be harassed just as much as the city carriers are
- 1:11:09with our office times 20 minute load times, street times left to
- 1:11:14fill out 3990 sixes, talking about how we're going to be back
- 1:11:18in eight hours. And then management's going to
- 1:11:20use Dulles and T Wrap to punish us because the computer says
- 1:11:26that we're going to have so much under time that we can take more
- 1:11:29off of other routes, things like that.
- 1:11:33So right now, the biggest thing we need is we need delegates.
- 1:11:37Delegates for National Convention last year, only 10%
- 1:11:43of the voting craft return their ballots.
- 1:11:48If 20% of the craft that didn't vote last year voted this year,
- 1:11:54you can change the way the delegation is at National
- 1:11:58Convention. You just have to step up.
- 1:12:02I'm going to tell what Josh says first, he says.
- 1:12:05If you get overwhelmed, take a step back, take a deep breath
- 1:12:10and step back in. Because at the end of the day,
- 1:12:14no matter what, we're all in this together.
- 1:12:23Have a good night everybody, and we'll see you next week.
- 1:12:39My name is Bill. I am chill.
- 1:12:42I don't. Oh, you said rap.
- 1:12:44I'm sorry. Be there, Bill.
- 1:12:51I know you got the will, but you really got to try and keep it
- 1:12:55chill. Oh gosh, we now turned into a
- 1:12:59really bad rap session. Oh.
- 1:13:02Gosh, I got a guy named Josh. He's so posh.
- 1:13:08All right, somebody stop us.
