Nowthe third admonition—and its motivation—is found in verse 28: “Let him whostole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what isgood, that he may have something to give to him who has need.” The commandis clear: stop stealing. But Paul doesn’t stop there. He says instead, work.Labor with your hands. Why? So that you may have something to give. That is themotivation—not so that you can accumulate more for yourself.
