- 0:27good evening everybody and
- 0:28welcome where we're back
- 0:30home on sunday sunday
- 0:33sunday night crossfit talk
- 0:36back where we're supposed
- 0:37to be um today is february
- 0:41second in the states that
- 0:42is groundhog day I don't
- 0:44know if you have anything
- 0:45like that in canada carolyn
- 0:47we do I don't know which
- 0:48day it is but we have it as well
- 0:52and uh punxsutawney phil uh
- 0:55which is really close to
- 0:56where I grew up
- 0:57punxsutawney pennsylvania
- 0:59um came up at gobbler's
- 1:00knob and saw his shadow and
- 1:03scurried back in the hole
- 1:05meaning that we have six
- 1:07more weeks of winter boo
- 1:11yeah to be expected I feel
- 1:14like that's the way this
- 1:15winter has been going
- 1:18yeah uh I when I saw that
- 1:21new like I believe or like
- 1:23I believe an animal yeah
- 1:26right and it's not like
- 1:30just pure transparency when
- 1:33I was in college and I was
- 1:34bouncing at a bar one night
- 1:35we closed up shop we hopped
- 1:38in our car we headed to
- 1:39punxsutawney and we watched
- 1:41this thing live there's no way that that
- 1:46groundhog is in his natural
- 1:47habitat right like he's
- 1:49under like eight hundred
- 1:50lights right and being
- 1:53poked and prodded and all
- 1:54this kind of stuff there's
- 1:55no way he's giving a real
- 1:57forecast it's like the dogs
- 1:59are the mascots during
- 2:00playoffs that like hit a
- 2:01ball into a bucket and it's
- 2:03like this one's gonna win
- 2:04this series in seven it's
- 2:06like how many yeah it says
- 2:08it's as accurate as that yeah
- 2:13Wow, we've already got questions flowing.
- 2:17I know.
- 2:17Lex, how am I and how is my OSNI?
- 2:21I have been better.
- 2:22I woke up this morning with
- 2:23a major sore throat,
- 2:26just trying to get through
- 2:26the day and trying to...
- 2:31I'm leading a project at work,
- 2:33so I have to be better tomorrow somehow.
- 2:36Been in emergency meetings
- 2:37for like a week and a half straight.
- 2:39not loving life.
- 2:40But the good news is, Saturday, officially,
- 2:44I can walk out from my job,
- 2:47and I'm guaranteed to check
- 2:48the rest of my life.
- 2:51Now, for the longer I stay,
- 2:53the bigger that check becomes.
- 2:56Now we just got to build it up.
- 2:57But at this point,
- 2:59I can walk away and get
- 3:00paid the rest of my life.
- 3:03But my wife's doing awesome.
- 3:04I was telling Jamie and
- 3:05Carolyn before the show,
- 3:06she's moving better now
- 3:07than she was before the surgery.
- 3:12The pain she was in before is gone.
- 3:18And now she's just dealing
- 3:19with the surgery pain,
- 3:20which is better than what
- 3:21it would have been beforehand.
- 3:25Then we have Jamie.
- 3:26How's the gym?
- 3:27Oh, Lord.
- 3:28Lord.
- 3:29it's I mean there hasn't
- 3:31been much more on the
- 3:33remodeling front because
- 3:34I've got to put in the
- 3:35second order um of things
- 3:37that we needed just from
- 3:38the certain bars not
- 3:40working so I'm gonna put
- 3:42that order in tonight and
- 3:44then hopefully when aaron's
- 3:45shut down from gm at the end of february
- 3:49which will coincide with like the open,
- 3:51we can get it actually done.
- 3:53But I'm also in the process
- 3:54of switching over from push
- 3:56press to Chalk It Pro.
- 3:57We've always had Chalk It Pro.
- 3:59That's what we use for our workouts,
- 4:03logging, logging our workouts.
- 4:05Chalk It Pro?
- 4:06Chalk It Pro.
- 4:07Yep.
- 4:09Yep.
- 4:10That's always been our logging.
- 4:11Well, not always.
- 4:12I mean,
- 4:12years ago we had like be on the
- 4:14whiteboard.
- 4:15We've had a couple of different things.
- 4:16But I'd say for the last like
- 4:18For probably five years,
- 4:20we've had Chalk It Pro.
- 4:21It's tied to level method.
- 4:23So it comes in the color coded levels.
- 4:29And then we had Push Press
- 4:30for billing and Chalk It got billing,
- 4:33the billing side.
- 4:34And I'm sick of having, the thing is,
- 4:36I really, really like Push Press.
- 4:38I just don't like their
- 4:40logging as much and we're
- 4:41so used to level method
- 4:42that I just can't really
- 4:44get rid of chalk it so I
- 4:47just gonna have to bite the
- 4:49bullet and deal with the
- 4:50billing side on chalk it um
- 4:53so I got I'm migrating over
- 4:55and over from push press
- 4:56and setting up the store
- 4:57and the calendar and holy
- 5:00cow it's way more in depth
- 5:02than I I mean I kind of
- 5:03expected to take a while
- 5:04but this is like it's
- 5:05getting ridiculous so if anyone has
- 5:08Knowledge of chalk it, share it with me.
- 5:11I mean, I, what do you have?
- 5:14I like beyond the whiteboard.
- 5:15I know beyond the whiteboard very well.
- 5:16I do.
- 5:17I always really,
- 5:18really liked to be on the
- 5:19whiteboard as a logging system.
- 5:21Um, I was sad when we got rid of it,
- 5:23but like I said,
- 5:23the chalk is tied to level method,
- 5:26but what's dumb is we don't
- 5:28really do level method programming.
- 5:30We follow training think
- 5:31tank affiliate programming.
- 5:32So I in every Sunday, Saturday or Sunday,
- 5:36it's been like six hours
- 5:37leveling out pocket into
- 5:40leveling out training
- 5:42programming into chalk.
- 5:44So I don't know.
- 5:47Yeah,
- 5:48I've been on Beyond the Whiteboard
- 5:49all day because my affiliate owner,
- 5:52he just gave me access to
- 5:55like the admin part of it
- 5:56because I've been
- 5:57programming for like the
- 5:59affiliate for years.
- 6:01Lex and I now program together.
- 6:04But I'm going to use it with
- 6:05my students this semester
- 6:06because we just got a TV in
- 6:08the fitness room and a Chromecast.
- 6:10So I want to be able to like
- 6:11Chromecast and then me
- 6:13adding some students.
- 6:16get them to start logging.
- 6:17Cause I always buy them
- 6:18little journals so that
- 6:19they can write their workouts.
- 6:21Um, which I still will.
- 6:23Cause in case some people
- 6:24don't want to use the app
- 6:25or anything like that.
- 6:26Um,
- 6:28but just something new to try with them.
- 6:31Yeah.
- 6:32Beyond the whiteboard is, is great.
- 6:34Nothing bad to say there.
- 6:35all in one I think we used
- 6:38beyond the whiteboard I
- 6:39used beyond the whiteboard
- 6:39before my gym had a logging
- 6:41system and my first two
- 6:43notebooks are still on that
- 6:44bookshelf over there I am
- 6:46when I first started
- 6:47physical there's something
- 6:48about writing in a little
- 6:49notebook when you first
- 6:50start working out that it's
- 6:52almost like everyone started like that
- 6:55I've been old school with my
- 6:57students and making them do
- 6:58it in a journal,
- 6:58but this semester will be
- 7:00the first time I try it with a software.
- 7:03I think I'll only try it
- 7:04with my grade eleven and
- 7:05twelves that have done the
- 7:07course many times with me.
- 7:08So give them that.
- 7:12Next thing is sad Colton
- 7:15didn't get offered WFP,
- 7:16the people's champ.
- 7:18I think it's a mistake, personally.
- 7:21Well, I do.
- 7:22I mean,
- 7:22I see in here someone said he would
- 7:25have been a better choice than Hoffer.
- 7:27I got to say there's
- 7:28something to having those
- 7:30people out there that you
- 7:32know are going to come take a spot.
- 7:35Because that's the thing.
- 7:36If you have the top twenty in there,
- 7:39who the frick's coming to take a spot?
- 7:43Colton's already signed up
- 7:44for the Challenger division.
- 7:48See, that's perfect.
- 7:50He's going to bring the
- 7:51excitement for that
- 7:52division because he
- 7:53probably will earn a spot.
- 7:55But if you look at golf or tennis,
- 7:57that pro card changes every year.
- 7:59Maybe not near the top,
- 8:00but down in that fringe.
- 8:05Fifteen through twenty-five
- 8:06is pretty arbitrary, right?
- 8:11So it could be anybody,
- 8:12but the mistake is that
- 8:15Colton draws fans.
- 8:18He is probably at this point
- 8:21one of the top two or three
- 8:23draws on the men's side of CrossFit.
- 8:28And if you're going to bring someone in,
- 8:29that would be the person
- 8:30you would bring in.
- 8:31His following has really
- 8:33increased on Instagram as well.
- 8:37Right, exactly.
- 8:38Like he's doing a good job
- 8:39with his social media.
- 8:40He's been probably one of the most, uh,
- 8:44one of the accounts I've grown the most,
- 8:46I would assume in the
- 8:47crosses space in the last year,
- 8:49if someone were to run the
- 8:50numbers of who got the most
- 8:51followers in the year,
- 8:53I think he's gotta be up there.
- 8:55You can't say that him being a challenger,
- 8:57isn't going to draw the crowds.
- 8:59Oh, it will.
- 9:00I mean,
- 9:00this could be some kind of a
- 9:01background set up.
- 9:04the but the challenger is
- 9:05online if he's top ten in
- 9:07the challenger he's in the
- 9:08same field with the twenty
- 9:10right exactly but that's
- 9:12the thing like he's pretty
- 9:14much gonna do the same
- 9:14thing anyway there's plenty
- 9:17of other people that are
- 9:18very good that would be
- 9:20good in that if you worked
- 9:23on promoting them and
- 9:25that's the proposal I sent to will
- 9:27Like I want to be the group
- 9:29that takes that focus on the challengers.
- 9:33You guys run with your,
- 9:34your pro card people.
- 9:36Let us,
- 9:37let us focus on the challengers and
- 9:39try to highlight them,
- 9:40get people to know them,
- 9:41feature them more.
- 9:43And I'm still waiting to hear back.
- 9:46So hopefully, I mean, I did hear back,
- 9:51but I didn't hear back with
- 9:52an answer yet.
- 9:52Gotcha.
- 9:55Just a received, got it.
- 9:58It was more than that.
- 9:59It was, it was much more than that.
- 10:01I don't want to say like they ignored me.
- 10:03They did not.
- 10:04Uh, will was very appreciative of, uh,
- 10:06the proposal and everything.
- 10:08He was turning it over to his media team,
- 10:10which I don't know who that is.
- 10:12So,
- 10:13so I don't even know who to follow up
- 10:14with other than will.
- 10:16And I don't want to just
- 10:17like pound him with,
- 10:20but I will go back soon.
- 10:25Was a question if you could
- 10:26see who signed up for the
- 10:27qualifier so far.
- 10:28And yes, you can.
- 10:29If you go on Competition Corner,
- 10:30it's called World Fitness
- 10:32Tour Challenger Qualifier.
- 10:34I don't know if you can pull it up.
- 10:37Scott,
- 10:37you can see the athletes that I've
- 10:39signed on and are signed up
- 10:41for the qualifier right now.
- 10:42And Colton's already on there,
- 10:44including Spin and a few others.
- 10:51I'm just taking a look right now.
- 10:55I did not have any of that ready,
- 10:57but we will.
- 10:59I have it open.
- 10:59I don't know how to share though,
- 11:00but it's called world.
- 11:03If you go on competition corner.
- 11:04Yeah.
- 11:05I just searched challenger
- 11:07and it popped up with world
- 11:08fitness tour challenger qualifier.
- 11:17Okay.
- 11:22And there starts, I think,
- 11:24I think it's during one of
- 11:25the weeks of the open, I believe.
- 11:30So there are the males.
- 11:32Is it the last week of the open?
- 11:33I can't read that.
- 11:38There's Colton right there.
- 11:42I feel like it's not.
- 11:42Well, actually,
- 11:44maybe I think it's the week
- 11:44right after because I think
- 11:45the last week of the open
- 11:47is done on March
- 11:50seventeenth and this one
- 11:51begins on the nineteenth.
- 11:52So just a couple of days
- 11:53after the following week is this one.
- 11:56So I guess it takes it takes
- 11:58the place of the
- 11:58quarterfinals basically
- 12:00that you had right after the open.
- 12:02So these are the participants.
- 12:15Kaden Hogan.
- 12:18Decent number of signups already.
- 12:20Wow.
- 12:24I almost expected this to be a,
- 12:28probably not sign up until
- 12:29that seventeenth, eighteenth, right after,
- 12:31at the end of the open,
- 12:32when you kind of see where you're.
- 12:35Or you see what the workouts are.
- 12:36Yeah.
- 12:37There you go.
- 12:38Pretty good number on the, so far,
- 12:41and it's a month away.
- 12:42Not bad.
- 12:44Then here are the females.
- 12:48Dana Perrin.
- 12:50Jennifer Murrell.
- 12:52Jesse Smith.
- 12:53Nice.
- 12:54Makes sense with her.
- 12:56Catherine is a girl from CrossFit Sarnia.
- 13:01Shout out to them.
- 13:02Or Phoenix.
- 13:03Matilda Garnas.
- 13:05Yeah.
- 13:08Some decent names there.
- 13:09Yeah.
- 13:14Are you going to sign up, Carolyn?
- 13:15Yeah, I will.
- 13:17I'll take a look at what the
- 13:18workouts are first and then
- 13:22probably decide from there.
- 13:23But yeah, most likely.
- 13:25Good job on your Northern
- 13:28Classic qualifiers.
- 13:30Some good scores.
- 13:34I won the one workout with
- 13:35deadlift and box jumps, which I like.
- 13:37Yeah,
- 13:40And then the death pile,
- 13:42I did well on that one.
- 13:46I made a mistake in my last
- 13:47round of thrusters.
- 13:48I should have been able to.
- 13:49I was two reps shy of finishing it.
- 13:53But I dropped the bar and I
- 13:55was mentally weak in that round.
- 13:58And then I just didn't time
- 13:59it right and then ran out of time.
- 14:00And I was like, I'm such an idiot.
- 14:02I was like, why did I drop the bar?
- 14:04Do we know what the fee is
- 14:05to sign up for the Challenger?
- 14:07Twenty-five dollars American, I believe.
- 14:10Okay.
- 14:12All right.
- 14:13Well, since we talked World Fitness Tour,
- 14:15we'll jump to that first.
- 14:19They made some signings
- 14:20after Waterpalooza.
- 14:24I will show that I have a
- 14:26bunch of share screens here.
- 14:30So the first big
- 14:31announcement was that Saxon
- 14:33Pancheck is no longer a signed athlete.
- 14:36He is taking another role
- 14:38with World Fitness Project.
- 14:40And if you open that up,
- 14:41you actually see I'm
- 14:42excited to be changing
- 14:43directions and taking on a
- 14:45new role at the World Fitness Project.
- 14:49Curious what that is.
- 14:51Yeah, me too.
- 14:54Then since Waterpalooza,
- 14:56we have Lucy Campbell.
- 14:58We have Danny Spiegel.
- 14:59We have Olivia Kerstetter.
- 15:02On the men's side,
- 15:03we have Austin Hatfield and Jeff Adler.
- 15:07That closes out the men for sure.
- 15:10The women, is there one spot open?
- 15:13Yeah, I've counted nineteen women.
- 15:15So, I mean, you have Laura and Tia.
- 15:17I don't I don't expect Tia
- 15:18to sign on this.
- 15:21And I guess we'll see if
- 15:22Laura is the other one.
- 15:25So then the other thing I
- 15:26wanted to share and Carolyn
- 15:28just sent this to me, um, gosh,
- 15:32minutes ago.
- 15:33Um, that is this one.
- 15:38Uh, I'll try to blows.
- 15:39So this is the field of, for the men,
- 15:43the twenty, uh,
- 15:45Bruce Wayne Saxon is no
- 15:47longer an athlete with WFP.
- 15:49He is some other role yet to be announced.
- 15:56So what this is,
- 15:58is it's a list of the
- 15:59twenty athletes and then
- 16:02what region they're from
- 16:04their Apollo ranking, which is the new
- 16:10uh dale what's his first
- 16:13name barkley dale oh okay a
- 16:17ranking system um which
- 16:21that system basically takes
- 16:23like a strength of field
- 16:24and puts you again like
- 16:26it'll give you a ranking
- 16:27every competition but if
- 16:28the strength of field is
- 16:29higher that competition
- 16:31becomes worth more
- 16:33so it has a whole ranking of
- 16:35on that part and then
- 16:37obviously the Rogue ranking
- 16:38takes into consideration um
- 16:41not all the comps but you
- 16:43know Rogue I think it takes
- 16:45the open semifinals it did
- 16:48take quarterfinals uh and
- 16:50the games and I don't know
- 16:51if they take what a Palooza
- 16:53I don't think they take a
- 16:53lot of clues on that one um yeah
- 16:59so on the men's side, um,
- 17:02most of this makes sense.
- 17:03Uh,
- 17:04most of the men are ranked in the top
- 17:05in one of the two polls.
- 17:08Um, but there are two that are not,
- 17:10and that is Luca Jukic and Victor Hoffer.
- 17:14Um,
- 17:15you can see the Victor Hoffer was in
- 17:17the Apollo ranking and in the rogue.
- 17:21Um,
- 17:21Luca was in the Apollo and in the rogue.
- 17:26Um,
- 17:27And so, but they did say way back when,
- 17:30when they,
- 17:31when they were doing the media
- 17:32tour that they had four wild card spots.
- 17:36And I'm assuming that that's what that is.
- 17:38Um, the rest of this is pretty,
- 17:41pretty clear cut.
- 17:45What I, what I find fascinating though,
- 17:47is who is the number one
- 17:49Apollo ranked male athlete?
- 17:51That's not on this list.
- 17:54Really?
- 17:55Yeah.
- 17:56Wow.
- 18:00It makes sense.
- 18:02Yeah, I had asked the question,
- 18:04then right away I knew my own answer.
- 18:05I was like, of course.
- 18:06I was like, why did I ask that?
- 18:08Wow.
- 18:13He did have a great year last year,
- 18:14though.
- 18:14He did well at Rogue.
- 18:16He did well at the Games.
- 18:18Well, at Summys,
- 18:19he was very consistent
- 18:20throughout the year.
- 18:25People are throwing out other names,
- 18:26but Noah was tenth in the Rogue ranking.
- 18:29just forty third in the Apollo ranking.
- 18:32So at least he was top
- 18:33twenty in one of one of the rankings.
- 18:36And they actually the Apollo
- 18:37ranking is brand new.
- 18:39This wasn't even out when
- 18:41WFP first came to light.
- 18:44They said they were going to
- 18:45follow something like the rogue,
- 18:48the rogue pole.
- 18:51So that would actually be
- 18:52more accurate for the most part.
- 18:57And again,
- 18:57they said they had the option of
- 18:59four wild cards that they could pick,
- 19:02just whatever, wherever they wanted.
- 19:05Fourteen out of the twenty
- 19:06athletes here are ranked in
- 19:08the top twenty in both categories,
- 19:09to give you an idea.
- 19:10Fourteen out of them.
- 19:12And then, like you said,
- 19:13two of them aren't in any of them.
- 19:15And then there are some
- 19:17athletes that are ranked
- 19:18inside the top twenty in
- 19:20one of the different categories.
- 19:25So.
- 19:26Most of the time being the Rogue ranking,
- 19:28which takes probably a
- 19:29little bit more historical
- 19:33stuff and when they were
- 19:34still competing
- 19:35individually for some of them.
- 19:37And just to make sure we give credit,
- 19:38this actually came from
- 19:39BeFriendly Instagram account.
- 19:43So we did not put this together.
- 19:44They did.
- 19:45So kudos to them for making
- 19:47this an easy chart to look at real quick.
- 19:51Yeah, I like that chart.
- 19:52It was like, oh,
- 19:53I had to send it to you guys right away.
- 19:54I was like, this is perfect.
- 19:55because we were wondering
- 19:56that especially I want to I
- 19:57definitely am curious to
- 19:58see when that woman's field
- 20:00gets completed if it's similar numbers,
- 20:03right?
- 20:03Because we think about
- 20:05something that like maybe
- 20:06some people don't
- 20:07necessarily want to quote belong there,
- 20:10but then all of a sudden, statistically,
- 20:12they do.
- 20:13So yeah.
- 20:16All right, keep me friendly.
- 20:18So I think that pretty much
- 20:21closes out most of uh what
- 20:23we're going to talk about
- 20:23on the world fitness
- 20:24project uh for now uh in
- 20:28addition um this week that
- 20:31we skipped over this in the
- 20:32catch-up because we had so
- 20:33many questions uh next week
- 20:35is super bowl um so more
- 20:38than likely we will do our
- 20:39show on monday if everybody
- 20:41is available um because I
- 20:44don't want to compete with
- 20:45the super bowl um everybody
- 20:47watches it it you know
- 20:51We want to make sure that we
- 20:52have as many viewers as possible.
- 20:54So we'll probably do next
- 20:55week's show on Monday night.
- 20:57Any picks for the games?
- 21:00No.
- 21:01Well,
- 21:01I'll be at Fittest of the Coast next
- 21:02weekend.
- 21:03So I won't even be.
- 21:06I don't know what time we
- 21:07get home on Monday.
- 21:09Okay.
- 21:10So they have a winter
- 21:11version of Fittest on the Coast?
- 21:14Fittest of the Coast is the
- 21:15Charleston one.
- 21:16Oh, the Charleston one.
- 21:17Yeah.
- 21:18Yeah.
- 21:20I know I keep saying fresh coast.
- 21:22It's been a nightmare in my head.
- 21:25Yeah.
- 21:26I have a bad taste in my
- 21:27mouth with those guys.
- 21:28So I just with fresh coast, no,
- 21:33with the fittest of the coast.
- 21:34Oh, I don't see,
- 21:35I don't know anything about the cap.
- 21:38So last year I'll air dirty laundry.
- 21:41What the heck trauma here we come.
- 21:43Um,
- 21:43Last year,
- 21:44Dave Hardy came up to me and said,
- 21:47I love your aftershows.
- 21:48I love what you guys do.
- 21:50I would love if you guys
- 21:50came to Fittest of the
- 21:52Coast and did aftershows
- 21:55talking about the event, having people on,
- 21:59doing all that kind of stuff,
- 22:00doing your thing where
- 22:01you're interviewing people and all that.
- 22:03And so I said, cool.
- 22:04So he gave me the name of
- 22:06the organizer because I
- 22:07think his home gym is what runs it.
- 22:11So I contacted them and they
- 22:13were very abrupt.
- 22:15Like I have my media team.
- 22:18We don't,
- 22:19we don't need you here and I
- 22:22don't have any spots.
- 22:23And I was like, okay, I won't ask again.
- 22:30Yeah.
- 22:30So, uh, yeah.
- 22:33Interesting.
- 22:34Crazy.
- 22:36Yeah, and I didn't ask for any money.
- 22:38I didn't ask for any,
- 22:39like it was just an introductory, hey,
- 22:42this is what we do.
- 22:43We'd love to come down.
- 22:44Nope, nothing.
- 22:46I wonder if Dave spoke to them at all.
- 22:49I, I told Dave about the,
- 22:51the confrontation.
- 22:53He was surprised.
- 22:54Yeah.
- 22:55Um,
- 22:56but he didn't get back to me like with
- 22:58anything of like an
- 22:59explanation or anything like that.
- 23:02And I love Dave Hardy.
- 23:03So shout out to him too.
- 23:04Cause he won his high rocks
- 23:05event again this week, uh,
- 23:07in the sixty plus division.
- 23:10Um, uh,
- 23:12I will say my pick for the
- 23:13Superbowl this week is, uh, the Eagles.
- 23:15Okay.
- 23:16I won't say Kwan to win.
- 23:19I can get behind that.
- 23:22Yeah, I'm going for them, but I just don't,
- 23:24I don't,
- 23:25it's hard to pick against Mahomes
- 23:27and the refs.
- 23:28So we'll, we'll see what happens,
- 23:32but nothing against the Swifties.
- 23:35Cause I do like Taylor Swift.
- 23:37I'm not like a crazy fan of Taylor's,
- 23:40but like I have nothing
- 23:41against the Swifties, but I just,
- 23:42I would like to see the
- 23:45Eagles win and save one for sure.
- 23:50all right um so next up is I
- 23:53was surprised to see this
- 23:54kind of I was uh yeah
- 23:58surprise it's free free for
- 24:00free um I was surprised to
- 24:03see this I I I always watch
- 24:05crossfit stuff when I go to
- 24:06bed like I just lay down
- 24:07throw the youtube on
- 24:09bouncer thing and I saw
- 24:11lauren fisher pop up which
- 24:12I haven't seen in a while
- 24:13so I was like I was
- 24:15surprised and he or she
- 24:17announced that she's hanging it up
- 24:19um to focus on her her I
- 24:22think it's called grow grow
- 24:23strong grown grown strong
- 24:26yeah grown strong grown
- 24:27strong her company yeah but
- 24:30I thought it was a really cool
- 24:33It was a cool retirement video.
- 24:35It talks about how her and Rasmus met,
- 24:39how they didn't like each
- 24:40other at first at Invictus,
- 24:43and how she got involved
- 24:46with Invictus and how
- 24:47intimidating it was at first.
- 24:50And I'll just share my first
- 24:51memory with Lauren is...
- 24:55She was,
- 24:56when the team series first started,
- 24:58she was on Rogue Team Red.
- 25:00And back in the day,
- 25:02Rogue would have a Team Red
- 25:04and a Team Black,
- 25:05and they would bring them into Rogue,
- 25:08and they would do the
- 25:09workouts here in Columbus.
- 25:11And if you watch the Instagram,
- 25:13you'd get about an hour notice.
- 25:15And if you drove really fast
- 25:18and faked sick from work,
- 25:21you could run over to Rogue
- 25:22and watch the teams go.
- 25:24And so I would do that every
- 25:26year they did that.
- 25:28And the first year was Lauren Fisher,
- 25:30Camille, LeBlanc-Besnay, Josh Bridges,
- 25:33and Dan Bailey.
- 25:36And so I ran over to watch
- 25:39it and I just was in awe that this little,
- 25:43and she was so young at the time,
- 25:46the amount she could lift.
- 25:49But it blew me away because
- 25:50you got to watch them warm up.
- 25:51I could not believe how much
- 25:52they warmed up.
- 25:53That was my first taste of that.
- 25:55The way before I ever got
- 25:56into media or even volunteering,
- 25:59we went over to do that.
- 26:01And,
- 26:02and I would always take my daughter
- 26:04and she loved it.
- 26:05And she got to meet these
- 26:06athletes who were so kind to her.
- 26:09um and always encouraging
- 26:10and lauren was one of those
- 26:11she was really quiet but
- 26:13she was really nice and
- 26:15encouraging to my daughter
- 26:16and I and I loved every bit
- 26:18of that and I still have
- 26:20probably two hundred
- 26:21pictures from that day that
- 26:25team series was fun back
- 26:27then it was that was a
- 26:29great great competition I
- 26:32like the four person better than the two
- 26:35It's harder to get four, though.
- 26:38It was.
- 26:39The workouts were more fun with four.
- 26:41But yeah, no.
- 26:46I still remember Lauren when
- 26:47she was really young
- 26:48because she was at the
- 26:50twenty fourteen games, I think,
- 26:51when I was first entering
- 26:52the CrossFit space.
- 26:54And I just remember her like
- 26:55brown hair always flicking
- 26:56in her face anytime she was
- 26:57doing like ring muscle ups and stuff.
- 26:59And I was like,
- 27:00how is this girl like
- 27:00working out with her ponytail?
- 27:01Just like
- 27:03Yeah.
- 27:05But yeah,
- 27:06she was the youngest athlete there,
- 27:08I think, at that time.
- 27:09And Rogue had signed her right away.
- 27:11And it just seemed like she
- 27:15made the games for a few
- 27:16years and went more team side of things.
- 27:20But she never quite...
- 27:22I think,
- 27:23went to as big as what she was
- 27:25when she first started in the space.
- 27:28Had plenty of potential,
- 27:29but then had a few injuries, I think,
- 27:31over the last few years, if I remember.
- 27:35And then obviously she was
- 27:36injured that year with
- 27:37Annie when she got called up on the team,
- 27:39which was unfortunate
- 27:40because they had a great team.
- 27:42Probably were the favorites to win there.
- 27:44I was trying to do a retirement video.
- 27:47I had the meltdown on the parallette box.
- 27:50Wow.
- 27:54She had a very difficult
- 27:55time when she lost her mom, I think.
- 27:58I don't know Lauren personally,
- 28:00but just from afar on social media,
- 28:04I don't think it's been the
- 28:05same maybe for her on the
- 28:07CrossFit side since her mom
- 28:09hasn't been there.
- 28:10I think it makes sense to
- 28:11see her step away from the
- 28:13sport and maybe still train
- 28:17CrossFit and stuff like that,
- 28:18but just have different...
- 28:21um different projects her
- 28:22and rass and uh yeah their
- 28:25future speaking of her mom
- 28:27she tells the story of
- 28:29first going to invictus and
- 28:31her mom did crossfit and
- 28:32they were parked outside
- 28:34and they look in and they
- 28:35see uh regan and they see
- 28:38camille and they see like
- 28:41all she names off like five or six
- 28:43games athletes.
- 28:44Right.
- 28:45And, uh, and she goes,
- 28:47I can't go in there.
- 28:48Like, I'm not good enough for that.
- 28:49And her mom's like, well,
- 28:50I'm going in you.
- 28:52And she popped out and her
- 28:53mom walked in to go do the workout.
- 28:56Um,
- 28:56and then Lauren had to walk in and she
- 28:59said it was the best thing she ever did.
- 29:01Um, doing that.
- 29:02But Lex here says they
- 29:03started the same gym
- 29:05CrossFit two Oh nine.
- 29:07Um, with Gabe Sudbury, uh,
- 29:10an OG games athlete.
- 29:11Huh?
- 29:11That's cool.
- 29:13And the brother was so good too.
- 29:14Garrett.
- 29:15Yeah.
- 29:15And then he got, he had nice hair too.
- 29:19He was always perfectly like,
- 29:20no matter what the workout was,
- 29:22his hair wouldn't move an inch.
- 29:23It's like the best hair.
- 29:28Yes.
- 29:30But he got that big offer
- 29:31from Rick Ross to get him
- 29:34into shape and all that money.
- 29:37Was it Ross Fit?
- 29:39Yeah, Ross Fit.
- 29:41Wow.
- 29:42I remember that.
- 29:43And I remember watching the videos on that,
- 29:45too.
- 29:45That was big.
- 29:47It was.
- 29:48It was.
- 29:49I wonder how long he did that for.
- 29:50He was in a joint before he
- 29:52does thrusters.
- 29:56Oh, gosh.
- 29:57The days.
- 29:59And again,
- 30:00another one of these retirement videos,
- 30:02I miss the Reebok uniform so much.
- 30:04Yep.
- 30:05And it's not just the wild colors.
- 30:07It's that they look like a uniform.
- 30:10The last couple of years
- 30:11look like t-shirts.
- 30:15I liked it when it looked like a uniform.
- 30:19So yeah.
- 30:20Anyway.
- 30:22happy happy trails to lauren
- 30:24fisher hope you find all
- 30:26the happiness in the world
- 30:27um so that's pretty cool
- 30:30yep now we're gonna get
- 30:33into a bunch of dave stuff
- 30:35so dave had a weekend
- 30:36review where he made a
- 30:37couple announcements and
- 30:38then today he did something
- 30:41that we'll talk about as
- 30:41well so first of all he
- 30:43announces that there will
- 30:45be a repeat workout in this
- 30:47year's open jamie has a theory
- 30:51Jamie, go.
- 30:52Well, I, you know,
- 30:54they come out and people
- 30:55are always guessing.
- 30:56Oh, I think it'll be this, this, you know,
- 30:58a lot.
- 30:58I heard a lot of nineteen point ones.
- 31:01Super basic, right?
- 31:02Wall ball row.
- 31:05And then I was on Reddit is
- 31:07where I got this and did
- 31:09some looking and it's so
- 31:11twenty point five is the
- 31:14row wall ball ring muscle up,
- 31:16broken up however you want.
- 31:19And Lazar won that worldwide.
- 31:23So I can see them pulling
- 31:25some type of a little tribute there.
- 31:28And it's an incredible
- 31:29workout when the open mat,
- 31:31like you're only going to
- 31:32the top one percent.
- 31:33Like that's the thing when
- 31:34people are saying workouts
- 31:35like even the deadlift bar
- 31:37facing burpee one,
- 31:39just like those basic workouts.
- 31:41Sure, there's some separation at the top,
- 31:42but like this workout is.
- 31:45When you throw in those ring muscle-ups,
- 31:47everyone can do it.
- 31:48I mean,
- 31:48you can do the row and the wall
- 31:49ball part and only do one
- 31:51ring muscle-up or none.
- 31:53But it's really going to
- 31:54separate the haves from the have-nots.
- 31:57And because you can do it in any order,
- 31:59even for the regular population,
- 32:01they would just race
- 32:02through those first two
- 32:03movements and then would
- 32:04get some time to possibly
- 32:06attempt ring muscle-ups for
- 32:07some of the members that
- 32:08would be close to it.
- 32:11I don't know if the scaled
- 32:11version was with pull-ups.
- 32:13I was wondering that too.
- 32:14I should have went and looked.
- 32:16But for those
- 32:17intermediate-ish RX athletes
- 32:19that might not be able to finish it,
- 32:21it was an opportunity to
- 32:22just kind of strategically...
- 32:24get through, you know, the two movements,
- 32:26get your tiebreaker time and then,
- 32:29you know, try to get as many ring myself.
- 32:30So I do, I do like that workout.
- 32:33I'm not a huge fan of
- 32:35personally of choose your
- 32:37own adventure for a qual,
- 32:38like for a qualify workout.
- 32:40I like it in training.
- 32:42Um,
- 32:43I don't like the idea that like the
- 32:47strategy matters, I guess.
- 32:49I know I get you there.
- 32:50Yeah.
- 32:51Um,
- 32:53Cause I want to do like the
- 32:54same type of workout that everyone did,
- 32:56you know,
- 32:56same rep schemes or whatever it is.
- 32:59Um, do you know, but it's a great workout.
- 33:02Do you know what, how Lazar broke it up?
- 33:04No, but this is a different workout,
- 33:08I think for the men than women though.
- 33:09A hundred percent.
- 33:11So it's hard to,
- 33:13it would be hard to compare, um,
- 33:15just because of the power
- 33:16as well in the row and their,
- 33:18their upper body endurance is,
- 33:21is different.
- 33:22Yeah.
- 33:26There's a twenty two point one.
- 33:30Twenty four point one.
- 33:33Please no KDL.
- 33:37Well, he probably doesn't.
- 33:38So he's saying she's saying
- 33:39no to the twenty four point one.
- 33:42Twenty two point one was the wall,
- 33:45the wall walk dumbbell
- 33:47snatch box jump over.
- 33:49Larry Young says CrossFit
- 33:50has been posting a lot of pistols.
- 33:52Thought I was going to do it slow.
- 33:54Not happening.
- 33:57What was that pistol one,
- 33:58the one with the... That's
- 34:00nineteen point... Three?
- 34:03Three, I think, and it has box jumps,
- 34:06increasing weight of clean and jerk.
- 34:07Jeff Adler crushed that one
- 34:09worldwide and won it.
- 34:10I don't know who went on the female side.
- 34:12I just remember Jeff had one
- 34:15of the biggest separations
- 34:16with the elite field on that.
- 34:19That's a good workout.
- 34:21um sarah I love the idea but
- 34:24this is dave saying there
- 34:25will be a repeat open
- 34:26workout yeah uh twenty two
- 34:31point one gave so many of
- 34:33my members false hope and
- 34:38they're young twenty point four is mine
- 34:41Um, so in addition to that,
- 34:43he also said that he will
- 34:46not be doing the open announcements, um,
- 34:50but that they will be doing
- 34:51some head to heads.
- 34:53And, um, apparently if you want to host,
- 34:58uh, or do the announcement,
- 34:59you can submit a video, um,
- 35:02in audition for that.
- 35:03I love that idea.
- 35:07I mean,
- 35:08I wish we were an affiliate and I could,
- 35:09cause like, I love,
- 35:10I love that we have like Jim and Haley,
- 35:12like we have a wide array to show.
- 35:15Um, but I,
- 35:16they would never pick an
- 35:17unaffiliated gym.
- 35:18So I want to see somebody
- 35:19with something exciting to bring,
- 35:21like how they present it.
- 35:23Right.
- 35:24Yeah.
- 35:24Show me.
- 35:25That's what I want to see an
- 35:26audition video.
- 35:27I don't care.
- 35:27Like how, how good.
- 35:30the people doing it are.
- 35:31I want to see the last time
- 35:34they went to the affiliates.
- 35:35It was like reading from a
- 35:37card in monotone.
- 35:40And the next is a kettlebell
- 35:42swing with like, it was bad.
- 35:45Like, give me some, see,
- 35:47I care about the matchup.
- 35:49I want, I don't,
- 35:50I don't want it to be still
- 35:52arranged by CrossFit,
- 35:53like moderately going at it.
- 35:55Like I want to see,
- 35:57like what are good scores
- 35:59what are the best doing
- 36:00dave says they've already
- 36:01reached out to people and
- 36:03asked them to be a part of
- 36:04the matchups so I think
- 36:05crossfit's still doing the
- 36:06matchups it's just what
- 36:08affiliates going to be
- 36:09hosting gotcha um that it's
- 36:11a yeah it's a cool idea
- 36:15Then the last thing from the
- 36:16Week in Review,
- 36:17and this was way at the end,
- 36:19he said that there's an
- 36:20idea that was brought up to
- 36:22him that he really likes
- 36:24about the top ten from the
- 36:27Community Cup in each level
- 36:30coming to the CrossFit
- 36:31Games and doing an exhibition.
- 36:37So you're bringing two hundred people.
- 36:41So remember the levels are
- 36:42one and two compete.
- 36:44So it's only five.
- 36:46Okay.
- 36:47So it'd be fifty and fifty.
- 36:50My guess is he's just spitballing here.
- 36:52So don't like take the number seriously.
- 36:54I think if you did like top five,
- 36:57I think it's a workable idea.
- 36:58Yeah.
- 37:02But there will be a lot of like,
- 37:06I think that's better than teams.
- 37:08The way they've been doing it lately.
- 37:11like to watch that instead
- 37:12of teams and you can change
- 37:15up the workout so you're
- 37:16not watching like the same
- 37:17thing over and over again
- 37:19right and what an incentive
- 37:25that would be for the
- 37:25general community yeah yeah
- 37:27that's a cool idea
- 37:35crossfit remember when they
- 37:37made lauren brooks do a
- 37:37muscle-up workout against
- 37:38julie foucher that was like
- 37:40why would you pick to like
- 37:42someone that's just like
- 37:44not their strength versus
- 37:45someone's wheelhouse um I
- 37:48always wondered if they
- 37:49picked athletes for the
- 37:50matchups um if they were
- 37:53picked based off the
- 37:54movements but they
- 37:55apparently weren't and I
- 37:56feel like that's a miss
- 37:56like you should pick based
- 37:58off the movements and get
- 37:59them to go head-to-head
- 38:00like that's what's exciting
- 38:01if it's a close race
- 38:04I don't disagree with you, Kenneth,
- 38:06but that's way more divisions.
- 38:09Yes.
- 38:10In addition to that,
- 38:11they all occur after the games.
- 38:14So you're screwed there
- 38:17unless they change that up.
- 38:21And we've said that for a
- 38:22year that really they should be first.
- 38:25And at the very least like
- 38:27highlight reels should be
- 38:28shown at the games of the
- 38:29other divisions.
- 38:32so I thought that was really
- 38:33interesting and a way to
- 38:34get a lot of buy-in to the
- 38:37community cup the next
- 38:41thing is um dave announced
- 38:43today that he's starting
- 38:45well he kind of has been
- 38:46mentioning it but he did
- 38:48start it today an affiliate
- 38:50series where he's
- 38:51interviewing affiliate
- 38:52owners um like he did the
- 38:55athletes last year
- 38:57And he started it today with Hari Singh,
- 39:00who owns CrossFit NYC.
- 39:03And he actually has two
- 39:04locations in New York City,
- 39:07one in downtown Manhattan
- 39:09and one on the Upper West Side, I believe,
- 39:14called Flatiron.
- 39:16It's the oldest CrossFit gym
- 39:17in the world is what they
- 39:18claim because they were on
- 39:19the original list of
- 39:20sixteen affiliates when
- 39:23affiliates were first named.
- 39:26And the coolest thing I took
- 39:27from it was their two
- 39:31biggest drop in days are
- 39:33Wednesdays and Saturday.
- 39:35So they program those days
- 39:37to make it approachable every week.
- 39:40so that like when a new
- 39:42person comes in you're not
- 39:43doing handstand walks and
- 39:46snatches yeah and trying to
- 39:48scale for them those two
- 39:49days are designed more
- 39:51approachable for people
- 39:53dropping in and they are
- 39:54massive gyms like hundreds
- 39:57and hundreds of people
- 39:59maybe even a thousand
- 40:00that's crazy at the height
- 40:02of their popularity but it
- 40:06was really really
- 40:06interesting did either of
- 40:07you get a chance to watch it
- 40:09I caught about fifteen
- 40:10minutes of it before this.
- 40:12Not enough.
- 40:13Yeah, I watched it.
- 40:17I didn't take too, too much from it.
- 40:20Versus like an athlete podcast.
- 40:23Yeah,
- 40:23that was one thing I found interesting.
- 40:26I still like the on-ramps
- 40:28before people get into classes,
- 40:30personally.
- 40:31Just having a few one-on-one
- 40:33sessions and getting them
- 40:35comfortable with the
- 40:36movements prior to just
- 40:38entering a class with no experience.
- 40:41Especially if you have huge
- 40:43classes like that where...
- 40:45the attention,
- 40:45you still want some
- 40:46attention on all the other
- 40:48members and it can draw a
- 40:49lot of attention to a certain person,
- 40:52but to each their own further, um,
- 40:56the way that they run their gym.
- 40:57And I think it's going to be
- 40:59interesting to see different, um,
- 41:01ideas that other affiliate
- 41:03owners will have.
- 41:04And as that podcast continues to grow, um,
- 41:07like just different people on it,
- 41:08I think we'll be able to
- 41:09share some ideas maybe of
- 41:11what works for them what
- 41:12hasn't worked and I hope
- 41:14that there's some good
- 41:15questions that can get
- 41:16asked to dave and that the
- 41:18affiliate owners aren't
- 41:19also afraid to have like
- 41:21hard conversations with
- 41:23dave and it's not just
- 41:24going on and um you know
- 41:29yeah bowing down or not really
- 41:32Pushing back on anything.
- 41:35I hope that there's some
- 41:36good dialogue and some ideas, again,
- 41:38shared on how to make the
- 41:39affiliates better,
- 41:40how CrossFit can help the
- 41:41affiliates even more so,
- 41:43and plans of the season and whatnot.
- 41:51Yeah, that's what I'd be curious of.
- 41:52And maybe I missed this.
- 41:54Does he...
- 41:56Does he talk about HQ in their presence?
- 41:58And like how I heard him
- 42:00talking about using two brain.
- 42:03And it boggles my mind that
- 42:04a gym that big would even
- 42:05need to use two brain.
- 42:06So like what's going on there?
- 42:09What is two brain providing that HQ isn't?
- 42:14I don't know.
- 42:16so he talks about that it
- 42:18made them more efficient, um,
- 42:20that they were doing things
- 42:21that was like a waste of time and money.
- 42:24Um,
- 42:24so it was really just cleaning up some
- 42:26of the stuff.
- 42:28Uh, and, and I, um, D Reed says,
- 42:33why does everyone attach
- 42:34fear to conversation with Dave?
- 42:36This guy was not afraid of Dave.
- 42:38Um, he,
- 42:39he said that the open puts a lot on
- 42:41affiliate owners and it really brings,
- 42:44um,
- 42:46is really hard on them and
- 42:48that the best thing they
- 42:49did was make it a three week open.
- 42:51I know everybody's like,
- 42:52we need to go back to a five.
- 42:53We need to go back to a five,
- 42:54but these affiliate owners are like it,
- 42:57that almost, he was like,
- 42:58it almost broke me.
- 43:01It is a lot.
- 43:05Um, so yeah, I thought it was good.
- 43:10I think it'll get better as they go.
- 43:12I think that happened in the athlete ones.
- 43:13Um,
- 43:14Like he was so worried about the time and,
- 43:17and this and that,
- 43:18and it'll get to something
- 43:19that flows a little bit
- 43:20better once he gets some
- 43:22topics he wants to talk about.
- 43:25Um,
- 43:26I thought the guy was very
- 43:27open and honest but he's
- 43:28also you can tell like he
- 43:30doesn't coach anymore uh
- 43:33he's one of the first
- 43:33affiliate owners the guy
- 43:35that does is his lead coach
- 43:37um what has been there
- 43:39since the beginning he
- 43:40started like tenth grade
- 43:43and he's now their like
- 43:44lead coach and he's never
- 43:45coached anywhere else that's awesome
- 43:49And he did.
- 43:51I get this a lesson.
- 43:51The tip he did say is like
- 43:54he treats his employees like an employee,
- 43:56not a ten ninety nine.
- 44:01Because retention is
- 44:02important in New York City.
- 44:05I'm having everybody and you
- 44:06need them to feel like
- 44:07they're a part of something.
- 44:08Yeah, I can see that.
- 44:12Yeah, I like the interview.
- 44:13Like you said,
- 44:14I think with the athlete interviews,
- 44:16they got better and better,
- 44:17and Dave got better with his questions,
- 44:19and the interactions got better.
- 44:21So I assume that the more
- 44:24that we'll see some affiliate owners,
- 44:25the more we'll dig into
- 44:28some problems or things
- 44:31that are good happening at
- 44:33different affiliates around
- 44:34the world and just sharing
- 44:36all the good and bad that's happened.
- 44:39Mm-hmm.
- 44:43All right, sorry about that.
- 44:48So then we have TFX that
- 44:49happened this weekend.
- 44:51One of the oldest CrossFit
- 44:52competitions in the world as well.
- 44:55Jeremy Thiel started this way back in like,
- 44:57oh, seven or eight.
- 45:01But it has become kind of a mid-major.
- 45:05But it's where you can kind
- 45:06of see the rising stars and
- 45:08who might make the games
- 45:09the following year or might
- 45:11become a challenger in the WFP.
- 45:14So let's take a look at the
- 45:15leaderboard from the weekend.
- 45:25This is the women's pro division.
- 45:30Kaitlyn Sanders also did
- 45:31very well on the NorCal Classic workouts.
- 45:37Hannah Black has been kind
- 45:38of a mainstay at this mid-comp level,
- 45:42but she went team last year.
- 45:44Well,
- 45:44you can see here just by the point
- 45:46gap that Sanders was in a
- 45:48different league compared to them.
- 45:51More consistent.
- 45:52Obviously has no holes.
- 45:56Tracy Johnson, interesting story.
- 45:59Last year when we followed
- 46:00athletes from the open to the games,
- 46:02if they made it,
- 46:04that you and Jamie were both a part of,
- 46:06Jamie and Carolyn were both a part of,
- 46:08we followed her that year in the open.
- 46:12And so it's cool to see her on the podium.
- 46:14She did the NorCal qualifiers too,
- 46:16but she was further down.
- 46:21And Amy Hosking is a friend of the show,
- 46:23as well as Faith Stewart.
- 46:25So top five, we have Faith Stewart,
- 46:29Amy Hosking, Tracy Johnson, Hannah Black,
- 46:31Caitlin Saunders.
- 46:34Pretty cool.
- 46:36And then on the men's side,
- 46:42Casey Strong took the win by five points.
- 46:46Wow.
- 46:48And a tight race.
- 46:49Holy cow.
- 46:50tie for second with Jacob
- 46:52Marlowe and Matt Brady.
- 46:53Wow.
- 46:55Both, both friends of the show.
- 46:57Um, and then Raphael Sanson took fourth.
- 47:02Greg gross took fifth.
- 47:04I didn't look at the workouts this year,
- 47:07but was there anything, uh, Oh,
- 47:09you didn't look at them either.
- 47:10I didn't see if there's anything unique,
- 47:12like in,
- 47:13I think it was last year or the
- 47:15year before they had some
- 47:16triple unders or maybe
- 47:17something that was
- 47:18different there that I was like, Oh,
- 47:24Larry Young, for not being a huge comp,
- 47:26it's one of my faves.
- 47:27Chubby John Young got beat down.
- 47:30Oh, where'd he finish?
- 47:32He's in the men's RX.
- 47:34He won the snatch, but struggles on.
- 47:37There was a run, I heard.
- 47:39That's the only thing I know.
- 47:40Run, lunge, run.
- 47:42Yeah.
- 47:43Keep going down.
- 47:46I'm going.
- 47:47I'm going.
- 47:49And really his snatch is
- 47:50what helps him go up a little bit.
- 47:52Thirty eighth place.
- 47:55If you click on him,
- 47:56you'll see all his results.
- 48:00I'm under on forty six.
- 48:04A to Z, fortieth, forty second,
- 48:07Olay first and then thirty
- 48:10second thirty seventh.
- 48:12All right.
- 48:15Well, we know you're strong, John.
- 48:19So if you've never been to TFX,
- 48:22it's really a unique competition.
- 48:25It's like,
- 48:26I would call it a three-ring circus.
- 48:28There are three fields of
- 48:30play in like a triangle.
- 48:33And one is like a running
- 48:37field where you run like
- 48:40off pavement into this grass.
- 48:43There's another one that's
- 48:44like a cement asphalt
- 48:47parking lot that is made with a big rig.
- 48:50where you do like a lot of
- 48:51the gymnastic stuff.
- 48:53And then usually there's a
- 48:55indoor floor that is
- 48:58lifting and things of that nature.
- 49:03so it's there's always
- 49:05action going on they have a
- 49:06ton of community um
- 49:08divisions um and it's
- 49:10really a big it's a big
- 49:12comp for not being a big
- 49:14comp yeah same premise as
- 49:16wadapalooza with all the
- 49:18masters divisions all like
- 49:20the rx the intermediate all
- 49:21of that kind of stuff um
- 49:24It's just,
- 49:25I think they're a victim of timing.
- 49:27But now that Waterpalooza is
- 49:29moving to March,
- 49:31it may actually open this
- 49:32up to be a bigger comp as
- 49:35like a precursor to the season.
- 49:42I can see that.
- 49:44So CrossFit says,
- 49:45I'm working on my grid bod sound effect.
- 49:50John, not last young.
- 49:53Do they pay out for that?
- 49:55You know what the prize purse is?
- 49:58I saw a pay.
- 49:59I just don't know.
- 50:00I saw a post,
- 50:01I think it was today from
- 50:02them that said the prizing,
- 50:04but I don't know if it was
- 50:05for this one or they're a semifinal,
- 50:08right?
- 50:09Not this one.
- 50:11The one in May or they're
- 50:17one of the later ones in
- 50:19the in-person and that one
- 50:20is a semifinal.
- 50:21Because they posted something.
- 50:23Eleven hours ago that said.
- 50:24Twenty twenty five prize purse.
- 50:26Twenty twenty five prize purse.
- 50:28And I don't know if.
- 50:30That was for.
- 50:34This weekend.
- 50:34I just sent it to you.
- 50:36It had first place was four thousand.
- 50:38Third second place was fifteen hundred.
- 50:40And third place was seven fifty.
- 50:44But I don't know if it's from.
- 50:46I'm assuming it's from this weekend.
- 50:48And then it paid out.
- 50:49The pro team's.
- 50:51It even paid out masters.
- 50:56Four hundred one fifty seventy five.
- 50:58Yeah, this would be this one this weekend.
- 51:00Yeah.
- 51:00Yeah.
- 51:00Yeah.
- 51:01And when I was so I went
- 51:05down a couple of years ago
- 51:06and it I know they had
- 51:07checks like the big paper checks.
- 51:10People were walking around
- 51:11with them at the end.
- 51:12So, yeah.
- 51:15Well, hopefully Jacob gets his money.
- 51:17I know they're waiting on
- 51:19money from that MBS turkey truck.
- 51:23Well, that's a great segue.
- 51:25So that's happened.
- 51:27I don't know a lot of details about it.
- 51:29I know that the reps ahead
- 51:32people did get paid,
- 51:33but it's like out of pocket
- 51:34from the guy that's been
- 51:36running it and not really
- 51:38from the account of the company.
- 51:40And then the MBS Turkey Trot,
- 51:42they said they were going
- 51:43to have it within thirty days.
- 51:44It's been like two months
- 51:46since he said that and
- 51:48nothing has been paid and
- 51:49nothing really aggravates
- 51:50me more than promising to pay
- 51:52the athletes and then not.
- 51:54Yep.
- 51:55Like if you're running an event,
- 51:58you have a budget.
- 51:59Yeah.
- 52:01And part of that budget is
- 52:03the prize money.
- 52:03Well, yeah,
- 52:04that's how you got people to sign up.
- 52:07Right.
- 52:11And if I'm an athlete, I'm,
- 52:14I'm building that account.
- 52:19And where did my money go to
- 52:20pay these athletes what
- 52:21they're supposed to?
- 52:25it's so it's so bad it is
- 52:28bad I hope they pay out I
- 52:32hope it's just a so reps
- 52:36back see I hadn't heard
- 52:37that so reps ahead are
- 52:38having trouble paying out
- 52:40So Reps Ahead paid their
- 52:42athletes out of the
- 52:43organizer's own pocket
- 52:46because they were going to
- 52:48pay them all together from
- 52:51one account to make the
- 52:52accounting easier because
- 52:54it was all at one event.
- 52:56But because the MBS Turkey
- 52:58Challenge did not pay their people out,
- 53:01the Reps Ahead guy paid out
- 53:03of his own pocket.
- 53:05To make sure the reps that had people.
- 53:07What is this turkey thingy?
- 53:09It was the competition that hosted.
- 53:12And there is a loose
- 53:13connection at some sponsorship level or.
- 53:18I thought it was with the
- 53:18Renovo was the issue.
- 53:22It could be.
- 53:24It might be the sponsorship piece.
- 53:28I got to look more into this.
- 53:30Yeah, it's not good.
- 53:31It's a long article from Spin.
- 53:32They dug in really deep.
- 53:35And there is some loose tie
- 53:38between the MBS Turkey
- 53:40Challenge and the Reps Ahead.
- 53:42But it's really loose,
- 53:43and I believe it's just a sponsor.
- 53:48So I don't know.
- 53:50And so they were going to
- 53:51pay all the prize money out
- 53:52of the same account.
- 53:53And when it didn't happen,
- 53:54the Reps Ahead guy went
- 53:55ahead and paid his athletes.
- 53:57Well, that's good at least.
- 54:05uh jeremy someone needs to
- 54:07pay me yeah that's the one
- 54:09that I feel like overpaid
- 54:12the reps ahead athletes I
- 54:14did not like that I mean
- 54:16great if you have it but to
- 54:18hear this because that's
- 54:19the one that like they got
- 54:20like two thousand in the
- 54:21semi-final then they got
- 54:22like five thousand in the
- 54:23fight like they didn't need
- 54:24to do all that and they
- 54:26needed to probably
- 54:27But if reps had budgeted in
- 54:29and they had the money, then that's fine.
- 54:32Let them pay whatever they want.
- 54:34And their athletes got paid.
- 54:35They shouldn't have jumped into this mess.
- 54:38Yeah, if they're not in this mess,
- 54:40but they're like indirectly,
- 54:41like it's not their fault.
- 54:43I don't know.
- 54:43And like if they're paying the athletes,
- 54:45like I thought that was
- 54:46cool that those athletes
- 54:47got like those semifinals
- 54:49and then finals.
- 54:52Yeah.
- 54:52I'd be down for that.
- 54:53Just saying.
- 54:54Well, of course,
- 54:55but I would also be down for winning my,
- 54:58my first place prize money
- 54:59as the entry at the, I did, I did this,
- 55:02uh,
- 55:02online competition last year called
- 55:04fitness comps.
- 55:05And I would do every one of
- 55:06their quarterly, um,
- 55:10workouts and it was like
- 55:11registration was twenty
- 55:12bucks and then first place
- 55:13was like three fifty two
- 55:14fifty and then one fifty
- 55:16online and then they just
- 55:17after the third one last
- 55:18year they just like ghosted
- 55:20and didn't pay like didn't
- 55:22reply back to anything and
- 55:24like mayhem was the one
- 55:25that was programming for
- 55:25that one and people were
- 55:27supposed to win like a
- 55:28skier for like the top gyms
- 55:30um I still haven't gotten
- 55:32paid from it but other
- 55:33athletes complained and
- 55:34have even gone to like
- 55:36mayhem to be like hey if
- 55:37you're putting your name on
- 55:38this online qualifier
- 55:39like what's going on.
- 55:41So some of the athletes I
- 55:42think ended up getting paid.
- 55:44I'm still waiting on mine,
- 55:45but this was like last August,
- 55:49but they like,
- 55:49I sent so many emails and like nothing.
- 55:54So like I messaged one of
- 55:55the guys that used to be in
- 55:58charge of it until he sold
- 55:59it like a year or two ago.
- 56:02And then he was able to get
- 56:03back to me and says that
- 56:05he'll sort it out.
- 56:07But yeah,
- 56:08I feel like this kind of
- 56:09stuff probably happens a
- 56:10lot more than what we even know about.
- 56:12Yeah, I agree.
- 56:15It's like the old Seinfeld bit.
- 56:18It's only a reservation if
- 56:19you hold the table or the car, right?
- 56:24If you give that away...
- 56:26to somebody else,
- 56:27then my reservation didn't mean anything.
- 56:30Like, you promised to pay this money.
- 56:33It should have been set
- 56:34aside so that the winner,
- 56:36the second place, whatever,
- 56:38all of their money was
- 56:39sitting there waiting to be paid out.
- 56:43That's what irked me with,
- 56:44I hate doing this,
- 56:49with Legends two years ago.
- 56:51Mm-hmm.
- 56:51that they they did it kind
- 56:53of covertly they spent a
- 56:56ton of money on signage and
- 56:59all this stuff to make it
- 57:00look like this awesome
- 57:01venue and then it didn't
- 57:02stream anyway so nobody got
- 57:04to see it so right you're
- 57:05wasting money on signage
- 57:07when that could have been
- 57:09money paid out to the
- 57:10athletes that you have
- 57:12always paid out for years
- 57:15that was that was a travesty yeah
- 57:24Um, yeah, Ken West was a shit show.
- 57:27We don't need to go back over that.
- 57:33Um, so then we have the daughter's video.
- 57:37Uh, the buttery bros did a documentary, um,
- 57:40following the daughters
- 57:41around water Palooza.
- 57:44I watched it this morning
- 57:45cause I had not done that yet.
- 57:48Um, I,
- 57:49I have some strong feelings about it,
- 57:52but I'll let you guys go first.
- 57:56I enjoyed the documentary.
- 57:59I think there's some good
- 58:02older pieces with the
- 58:03history of them and old
- 58:04footage from their training.
- 58:08It was funny to see some of
- 58:10their expectations of the
- 58:12weekend and then maybe how
- 58:13things played out.
- 58:14And where they're at in
- 58:15their career is not as competitive,
- 58:18maybe together as, you know,
- 58:19twenty twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen.
- 58:22If that was the team, you know,
- 58:23that would be a way different result.
- 58:26But I thought that they had
- 58:27some honest conversations,
- 58:28honest answers of how they
- 58:29feel about last season and
- 58:33where their head is at.
- 58:34And I respect them being
- 58:38honest on their thoughts.
- 58:42And I enjoyed it.
- 58:44So I didn't watch the
- 58:46Buttery Bros documentary.
- 58:47I've just seen the clips and
- 58:49like most of Hillers.
- 58:52So I'm obviously probably
- 58:55taken out of context a bit.
- 58:57It's skewed that way.
- 59:00But I mean, yeah,
- 59:01I got the general idea of
- 59:02what Annie said and talking about
- 59:06I mean, she phrases it right.
- 59:08Like you need to do what
- 59:10makes sense for you.
- 59:11And she's not going to fault
- 59:13anyone for making their own decision.
- 59:14And that's great.
- 59:16Um,
- 59:17but I think anything other than like
- 59:21supporting the brand that
- 59:23got you to where you are is
- 59:24a little bit of a slap in the face.
- 59:26Even if you don't think
- 59:27things are going to handle correctly.
- 59:28Like I don't see,
- 59:30I don't see her stepping
- 59:31away from CrossFit a hundred percent.
- 59:35Um,
- 59:37And she's got a,
- 59:38doesn't she have a role in
- 59:40the affiliate at Reykjavik?
- 59:41She owns it.
- 59:43She owns it.
- 59:45So you don't, I mean,
- 59:46you don't think as the affiliate owner,
- 59:48she's going to try to get
- 59:50her members to participate in this.
- 59:52She's not excited all about
- 59:53the community cup.
- 59:59I mean, you can't,
- 1:00:00you can't want this sport to die.
- 1:00:09okay so I'm gonna overall
- 1:00:11the documentary to me was
- 1:00:12very it was straight down
- 1:00:14the fairway buttery bros
- 1:00:16everything that they've
- 1:00:17done in the crossfit space
- 1:00:20uh their their action shots
- 1:00:21are awesome as always the
- 1:00:23editing is great the music
- 1:00:25is awesome uh the history
- 1:00:27part I found fascinating I
- 1:00:29really enjoyed all that um
- 1:00:33and so for the most part I
- 1:00:34enjoyed that I enjoyed the video
- 1:00:36There was nothing in there
- 1:00:37that I learned new because
- 1:00:40I'm a geek and I consume so
- 1:00:42much of this stuff.
- 1:00:43But they did it in their way
- 1:00:45and I thought it was pretty good.
- 1:00:49What I will say about what Annie said,
- 1:00:53this is my confusion.
- 1:00:55You own an affiliate and
- 1:00:56you're not de-affiliating.
- 1:00:59Yet you're not signing up for the Open.
- 1:01:01And I don't care.
- 1:01:02If you don't want to sign up for the Open,
- 1:01:04that's fine.
- 1:01:05But to be vague about the reason,
- 1:01:08because morally I can't,
- 1:01:10I don't think is a specific
- 1:01:13enough reason why you're
- 1:01:14not doing it when you hold
- 1:01:16so much influence over the sport.
- 1:01:18Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:20But I don't think the – like
- 1:01:23there's a lot of people at
- 1:01:24an affiliate that are doing
- 1:01:25CrossFit and they don't do the sport.
- 1:01:27And they don't sign up for the Open.
- 1:01:29And it doesn't make them any
- 1:01:30less of a CrossFitter by
- 1:01:32doing the Open or not.
- 1:01:34Like it doesn't – like
- 1:01:35there's so many people at
- 1:01:36affiliates that do not do the Open.
- 1:01:38And they still say that they CrossFit.
- 1:01:41And they do CrossFit.
- 1:01:42You don't have to do the Open to –
- 1:01:46to say that the sport is
- 1:01:48different than the
- 1:01:50methodology and maybe
- 1:01:52that's where her head is at
- 1:01:53is the sport side of it.
- 1:01:55She's not necessarily maybe
- 1:01:56supporting that from last
- 1:01:58year until she saw more, um, more changes,
- 1:02:01more concrete changes of
- 1:02:02what she was like, what she's looking for,
- 1:02:05but can still maybe get
- 1:02:06behind the methodology and
- 1:02:08everything it's done for,
- 1:02:11people's lives in terms of, you know,
- 1:02:14obesity and health and every, like,
- 1:02:17community part.
- 1:02:19I mean, she even did it pregnant.
- 1:02:22Put the burpees down in a
- 1:02:24square so she could get her
- 1:02:24belly down into the center.
- 1:02:27Like, she's made...
- 1:02:31It's just, it's weird to me.
- 1:02:33Like I feel like either you
- 1:02:34should have been clear
- 1:02:35about specifically why you
- 1:02:38don't want to do it this
- 1:02:38year or cause she's made a point.
- 1:02:42She did say, she just said,
- 1:02:44she did say in it that she
- 1:02:46did not like the response from the team.
- 1:02:49And because of that morally,
- 1:02:50she couldn't get herself to
- 1:02:51do the season this year.
- 1:02:53Like that that's, that's her answer.
- 1:02:59And her name was signed on
- 1:03:02the PFAA demand.
- 1:03:03So we know what that answer is for her.
- 1:03:06So there's no lying on her part there.
- 1:03:09She stood behind what she
- 1:03:12signed her name on.
- 1:03:14She's still doing CrossFit.
- 1:03:17That's the way that she's
- 1:03:17going to stay in shape for
- 1:03:18the rest of her life.
- 1:03:19We'll support her community
- 1:03:20that wants to take part in it.
- 1:03:25her decision and then she
- 1:03:27said that she doesn't put
- 1:03:28any like pressure on other
- 1:03:30people or you know will
- 1:03:32understand people that are
- 1:03:34doing it and not but that's
- 1:03:35her decision her personal
- 1:03:36decision I I completely
- 1:03:42hear you carolyn and I
- 1:03:44understand what you're
- 1:03:45saying and I don't completely disagree
- 1:03:49But what I think is if she
- 1:03:50would have said it was
- 1:03:52going to need a change in
- 1:03:53the leadership for me to
- 1:03:54sign up for the open,
- 1:03:56I think I would have been
- 1:03:56okay with whatever happened after that.
- 1:04:00I think where the PFA made their demands,
- 1:04:05CrossFit responded with something.
- 1:04:08It may not have been their
- 1:04:09demands and they may not
- 1:04:11have responded directly to,
- 1:04:13but it was something that,
- 1:04:16to then say like,
- 1:04:18it's to be vague at that point,
- 1:04:22even if she was said they
- 1:04:23came back with this
- 1:04:25committee and that
- 1:04:26committee and this committee,
- 1:04:27and that's not good enough for me.
- 1:04:29I'm not doing the open.
- 1:04:30I would have understood better.
- 1:04:32I just didn't like the
- 1:04:33vagueness because I think
- 1:04:35she holds an influence.
- 1:04:36I think the people that are
- 1:04:37doing the open and
- 1:04:39especially the young athletes,
- 1:04:41we're not going to get
- 1:04:42anywhere near three hundred
- 1:04:43thousand open people.
- 1:04:45The payouts for this year
- 1:04:47are going to be bitterly
- 1:04:50small compared to years past.
- 1:04:53And I think that that
- 1:04:56influence is affecting that.
- 1:05:02Yeah.
- 1:05:03And I'm completely fine with
- 1:05:04her not doing it because
- 1:05:08she wanted Dave fired and
- 1:05:10they didn't fire Dave.
- 1:05:12I just wish she'd say it so
- 1:05:14that others understood this
- 1:05:16is the specific reason why
- 1:05:18I'm not doing it.
- 1:05:21But she could have her own
- 1:05:22personal... She knew Lazar
- 1:05:26on a personal level
- 1:05:27competing in the European region.
- 1:05:29I don't think she needs to
- 1:05:30disclose every single thing
- 1:05:31that she's feeling on the
- 1:05:32situation necessarily.
- 1:05:35Again, that's her personal decision.
- 1:05:37And then other people will
- 1:05:39take their own routes and...
- 1:05:43the same thing happened at the games.
- 1:05:45People did what they felt was their best,
- 1:05:49like the decision that they
- 1:05:51could live with.
- 1:05:52And some of them regretted it.
- 1:05:54Some of them didn't regret it.
- 1:05:55It was what it was, you know,
- 1:05:57it was what it was, but in
- 1:06:05the when she was running
- 1:06:06back in on Murph and side
- 1:06:09sway and everywhere and the
- 1:06:10medical team took care of
- 1:06:12her and all of those things
- 1:06:14like there was a community
- 1:06:15that I don't know but
- 1:06:18there's people that were
- 1:06:19there for her no one was
- 1:06:21there for Lazar that's I
- 1:06:23don't think that's
- 1:06:24comparable it's not the
- 1:06:28same thing like the medical
- 1:06:29team was there when she was
- 1:06:31you know delusional and
- 1:06:32having heat problems
- 1:06:35I don't think that that's a
- 1:06:36comparable thing necessarily.
- 1:06:44People decide to do the open
- 1:06:45or not every year,
- 1:06:46whether they retire and
- 1:06:47it's the pressure of the
- 1:06:48leaderboard and people say nothing.
- 1:06:51Like, oh yeah, don't do the open.
- 1:06:53Be with your community.
- 1:06:54But she said just enough
- 1:06:57about it to lead to this...
- 1:07:00whatever it is.
- 1:07:01I, I just make the one more step to say,
- 1:07:05well, right.
- 1:07:06It's the easy way out to
- 1:07:07take the somewhat popular
- 1:07:09stance seems to be the popular stance.
- 1:07:12You're not going to ruffle
- 1:07:13any feathers really besides
- 1:07:14like these few diehards
- 1:07:16that think you should be
- 1:07:18supporting the open.
- 1:07:19Cause it's your career.
- 1:07:21It's gotten you to where like,
- 1:07:23there's going to be people
- 1:07:24that speak out like that,
- 1:07:25but I think she's taking
- 1:07:27the easy way out.
- 1:07:28And yeah,
- 1:07:31I don't know.
- 1:07:31It's just, I get, I mean, I, I get it.
- 1:07:37I get, she made a,
- 1:07:38she made a demand and
- 1:07:41doesn't feel like it was
- 1:07:41met and isn't happy with things.
- 1:07:45And this is the choice she's making.
- 1:07:47I just find it.
- 1:07:47I find it hard when you own
- 1:07:49an affiliate and you're going to put,
- 1:07:51you're going to run the open.
- 1:07:55But I mean, just go all, yes,
- 1:07:58the pack says it,
- 1:07:59just go all in and de-affiliate and,
- 1:08:02That's it.
- 1:08:04There's not,
- 1:08:04there's a difference between
- 1:08:05the sport and CrossFit.
- 1:08:07You can still affiliate and,
- 1:08:09and still represent in
- 1:08:11terms of the methodology
- 1:08:13and everything it's done.
- 1:08:15The sport, the sport is different though.
- 1:08:18The open does not make it
- 1:08:20open and just be open.
- 1:08:21She should just be doing the
- 1:08:22open and support it.
- 1:08:24And from there, not anything beyond that.
- 1:08:28She should do the open.
- 1:08:30She should do the open along
- 1:08:31with your shoes, not to do the open.
- 1:08:33I'm okay with that.
- 1:08:34I'm saying someone that anyone at the gym,
- 1:08:36regardless of whether it's
- 1:08:37any Thor's daughter,
- 1:08:38your regular member that just walked in,
- 1:08:41it does not make them less
- 1:08:42of a CrossFitter if they do
- 1:08:43or don't do the open.
- 1:08:46The open is not what
- 1:08:47determines whether you're across,
- 1:08:48you're a part of,
- 1:08:49it's a fun community event.
- 1:08:51You get to see where you're at every year,
- 1:08:53all of that.
- 1:08:54It's a competition.
- 1:08:55Not everyone even likes a competition.
- 1:08:58A lot of people that do
- 1:08:59CrossFit don't even want to
- 1:09:00do anything to do with the sport.
- 1:09:04You're bought into the community.
- 1:09:06You're bought into your gym.
- 1:09:07A lot of people are doing
- 1:09:08the workouts just to do it
- 1:09:09within their community
- 1:09:10without even signing up.
- 1:09:11You see that every year.
- 1:09:12It doesn't make it...
- 1:09:13Doing the open,
- 1:09:14signing up for the open
- 1:09:15doesn't necessarily make
- 1:09:18them any less of a CrossFitter.
- 1:09:19Now,
- 1:09:20some people will sign up to support
- 1:09:22their affiliate.
- 1:09:23Absolutely.
- 1:09:23Right.
- 1:09:23Like you're all in with your affiliate.
- 1:09:26Everyone has their own path, I guess.
- 1:09:29That's that's my.
- 1:09:32Ken says she wasn't telling
- 1:09:35other people to not do the open at least.
- 1:09:38And I somewhat disagree with that.
- 1:09:41I feel like her I feel like
- 1:09:43the stance she took was
- 1:09:46basically saying don't sign
- 1:09:47up for the open.
- 1:09:49she literally said herself.
- 1:09:51And then even at the end said like you,
- 1:09:54you guys,
- 1:09:54like she's at the end of her career too.
- 1:09:56Like it's easier for her to
- 1:09:57probably step away from the
- 1:09:58sport and just do the
- 1:09:58methodology in terms of that's hot.
- 1:10:00Like I'm always going to do CrossFit,
- 1:10:02like whether I'm, you know,
- 1:10:04competing or not,
- 1:10:04like it's the best way to train.
- 1:10:06It's the best way to be fit in the world.
- 1:10:08Um,
- 1:10:09and it's probably an easier decision as
- 1:10:11she's also like not
- 1:10:12necessarily in her prime to decide, but,
- 1:10:16um,
- 1:10:19she didn't say anything
- 1:10:20about getting other people
- 1:10:22to join her and not
- 1:10:24affiliating or not competing.
- 1:10:26She said, you know,
- 1:10:28there's other options out there.
- 1:10:31Uh, if this is the right thing for you,
- 1:10:32like, go ahead.
- 1:10:33Like it's.
- 1:10:34So I, I,
- 1:10:42So I believe that she is
- 1:10:44telling people not to do it
- 1:10:46because who she is and her
- 1:10:48influence on others.
- 1:10:49She doesn't have to say, don't do it.
- 1:10:51Right.
- 1:10:51You can just say, I'm not doing it.
- 1:10:53And people are going to
- 1:10:53follow her lead into that.
- 1:10:56I that's because people are
- 1:10:58going to follow her lead.
- 1:11:00I think that at that point
- 1:11:02it's on her to say why.
- 1:11:05So people are making an
- 1:11:07educated decision as to why
- 1:11:09they're not doing the open.
- 1:11:13That's my point.
- 1:11:13Yeah.
- 1:11:21And then Katrin said she's
- 1:11:23not doing the open,
- 1:11:24but she's retired and it
- 1:11:25wouldn't have mattered anyway.
- 1:11:30Then you go to Sarah.
- 1:11:32Sarah's doing the open.
- 1:11:33Yeah.
- 1:11:36So the daughters can't agree.
- 1:11:39And that's okay.
- 1:11:40Like,
- 1:11:41Everyone's going to do
- 1:11:42what's best for them.
- 1:11:44I think that's what's going to happen.
- 1:11:47It's great for Sarah.
- 1:11:49Sarah wants to compete.
- 1:11:50She still has that drive
- 1:11:52that she's always had.
- 1:11:53She's going to do Wadland or Wadfest.
- 1:11:56What is it called?
- 1:11:58The European one.
- 1:11:59I'm going to try to probably
- 1:12:01do the one that is in UAE, I would assume,
- 1:12:05since she lives there.
- 1:12:07That'd be a good opportunity
- 1:12:08for her to qualify there, but
- 1:12:14We need to probably move on
- 1:12:15to get through the next couple things,
- 1:12:17but did we know that she
- 1:12:20didn't have an ACL before
- 1:12:21this documentary?
- 1:12:22Sarah?
- 1:12:24I don't think I knew that.
- 1:12:26I can't remember if I did.
- 1:12:27Her body ate it.
- 1:12:30I feel like that was
- 1:12:31something that she talked about.
- 1:12:39Was that on Siobhan's podcast?
- 1:12:41I can't remember.
- 1:12:43Like she talked about almost
- 1:12:45like an autoimmune and like her body.
- 1:12:47I,
- 1:12:48I don't know if she was clear on like
- 1:12:50what, but I do feel like we got.
- 1:12:53Yeah.
- 1:12:53So Sarah says, yes, we did.
- 1:12:55I think she did say that.
- 1:12:56Okay.
- 1:12:58I've like,
- 1:12:59I've watched a lot of Sarah
- 1:13:00stuff and I know a lot has
- 1:13:02gone wrong over the last few years.
- 1:13:04I,
- 1:13:04but now she's doing stem cells to try to
- 1:13:06regrow it.
- 1:13:08Um,
- 1:13:09but it's going to take eight to ten
- 1:13:11months for her to see the
- 1:13:13results of that.
- 1:13:16Crazy.
- 1:13:18so um and again I just want
- 1:13:21to say I do the opener
- 1:13:23don't do the open I'm okay
- 1:13:24with all of that I if you
- 1:13:26have a lot of influence
- 1:13:28though I think there's a
- 1:13:29responsibility to take a
- 1:13:30step further um finally we
- 1:13:36have a couple more things
- 1:13:38uh mayhem mayhem has
- 1:13:44is now dominating the
- 1:13:45in-person semifinal system
- 1:13:49in crossfit they are
- 1:13:51programming their own
- 1:13:53mayhem classic they are
- 1:13:55programming wadland in
- 1:13:57europe and they're
- 1:13:58programming the french throwdown
- 1:14:03There's ten events in person
- 1:14:06and three of them,
- 1:14:07so thirty percent of the
- 1:14:09in-person semifinals are
- 1:14:10being programmed by Mayhem.
- 1:14:12Is that a conflict of interest?
- 1:14:19I believe so.
- 1:14:21I was when I brought it up,
- 1:14:23like when we were chatting, I was like,
- 1:14:25They already have their own
- 1:14:26thingy there for them to be
- 1:14:29programming three of the events.
- 1:14:31And maybe they can correct
- 1:14:33this if I read wrong,
- 1:14:34but I did see that their
- 1:14:35name was programming at
- 1:14:37least the qualifier for the WOD Fest.
- 1:14:40And I did believe I read
- 1:14:42that they were programming
- 1:14:43the French throwdown.
- 1:14:43I don't know.
- 1:14:46I think that there could be
- 1:14:48some definitely advantage
- 1:14:49to being a mayhem athlete
- 1:14:52with the style of programming.
- 1:14:56That and like clearly leaks
- 1:14:58can't be stopped.
- 1:15:01So it's like, yeah,
- 1:15:04somebody has an advantage.
- 1:15:07James W. That's the
- 1:15:08definition of conflict of interest.
- 1:15:15Sarah's asking if they're
- 1:15:16sponsoring those events though too.
- 1:15:19I have no idea.
- 1:15:20They're a sponsor at the NorCal one,
- 1:15:22but they're not programming the NorCal.
- 1:15:25Not sure about the other two
- 1:15:26if they're sponsoring or not.
- 1:15:33Are any other camps programming?
- 1:15:36Not that I have seen.
- 1:15:37Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 1:15:39I don't know if it's just
- 1:15:40event organizers or if it
- 1:15:44just hasn't been released yet.
- 1:15:49really should just be the
- 1:15:50event organizer so jeremy
- 1:15:54says does it have to be
- 1:15:55approved by hq I don't
- 1:15:57think this year it does
- 1:15:59I've not seen any of that
- 1:16:00in this in person you can
- 1:16:03program whatever you want
- 1:16:04and that's what I mean
- 1:16:06right that was laid out
- 1:16:08right open water swimming yeah okay
- 1:16:19If they are programming two
- 1:16:20and sponsoring a third,
- 1:16:22are they just keeping this afloat?
- 1:16:24It should just be the mayhem games.
- 1:16:29I mean,
- 1:16:29they are doing well for themselves.
- 1:16:33Well,
- 1:16:33the one thing for sure is if you're a
- 1:16:36competitive athlete and you
- 1:16:37want to do well,
- 1:16:40I bet you they're selling
- 1:16:40the shit out of their programming.
- 1:16:42I bet you they are.
- 1:16:46You want to at least take a
- 1:16:47peek as to what they're
- 1:16:48programming day to day.
- 1:16:56Well, that's Craig's.
- 1:16:57You see Craig's comment here?
- 1:16:59Did Seth switch from Mayhem to Underdog?
- 1:17:01Not a clue.
- 1:17:03I can't keep up with the switching.
- 1:17:05That would surprise me.
- 1:17:08Does he live there?
- 1:17:10In a van.
- 1:17:11That's true.
- 1:17:13No.
- 1:17:13I don't know if he bought.
- 1:17:14Did he buy a house in Cookville?
- 1:17:17He actually was living in a residence.
- 1:17:21But he was really tight with
- 1:17:22the guys at Mayhem when I
- 1:17:24interviewed him last year at Syndicate.
- 1:17:30Dre was back there with him and Tyler.
- 1:17:34So I don't... I feel like
- 1:17:36Rich really believes in him.
- 1:17:42Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:17:43He's good.
- 1:17:45The dude's got potential.
- 1:17:47He was so close to making it last year.
- 1:17:49Was he one spot or two?
- 1:17:51I think it was a Dre that
- 1:17:53they had to mayhem people
- 1:17:54that were so close.
- 1:17:56I thought, right.
- 1:17:56Dre and him.
- 1:17:57He didn't do real well on the last event.
- 1:18:00If he would have done just a
- 1:18:01little bit better,
- 1:18:02he would have made it in.
- 1:18:03Hmm.
- 1:18:07Hmm.
- 1:18:11Um,
- 1:18:13James W. Imagine if the chiefs
- 1:18:14management got to decide
- 1:18:15the rules for a game,
- 1:18:16the chiefs were playing in
- 1:18:18and ran a game.
- 1:18:19The chiefs were playing in.
- 1:18:20Do we think the players
- 1:18:21wouldn't have an advantage?
- 1:18:22Oh, just like the whole playoffs.
- 1:18:24Just like normal football.
- 1:18:25Got it.
- 1:18:25Um, uh, Jeremy says,
- 1:18:35rich believes in the Lord.
- 1:18:37That's who he believes in.
- 1:18:39Uh,
- 1:18:41um so anyway that's going on
- 1:18:44keep an eye on that um
- 1:18:45because that is crazy that
- 1:18:47they are involved with at
- 1:18:49least three other or three
- 1:18:51semis this year thirty
- 1:18:53percent of your opportunity
- 1:18:55to make the games um lucy
- 1:19:01campbell's on spin is just
- 1:19:03here for a quick I had an
- 1:19:04editorial comment
- 1:19:07What I loved about Lucy,
- 1:19:09and this is what I loved
- 1:19:10about her when I interviewed her,
- 1:19:11is she's not afraid to say
- 1:19:13what she thinks.
- 1:19:16And when...
- 1:19:20John and Tyler and Brian
- 1:19:22were being critical of the
- 1:19:23WFP that she has become a part of.
- 1:19:27She said,
- 1:19:27why are you being critical of
- 1:19:29them when CrossFit has not
- 1:19:31changed and made the
- 1:19:32changes they've need to
- 1:19:34make to ensure us a better opportunity?
- 1:19:38Why that's why athletes are
- 1:19:40doing both because we've,
- 1:19:42we've wanted change here.
- 1:19:44It's never happened before.
- 1:19:46there's an opportunity here
- 1:19:47for that change let's see
- 1:19:49what they can do with it
- 1:19:52and she said it way better
- 1:19:53than I did but um she is
- 1:19:56just so smart and it's not
- 1:19:59afraid to to fight back on
- 1:20:01things and if usually when
- 1:20:05an athlete comes on the
- 1:20:05spin they're there for
- 1:20:06fifteen minutes she was
- 1:20:07there for sixty yes it was
- 1:20:10it was a great interview
- 1:20:12And she even goes into her reasoning,
- 1:20:15her reasoning to do the open,
- 1:20:16which I love.
- 1:20:17Um, and she, she said that like,
- 1:20:20while she does not agree with, you know,
- 1:20:22the response and what
- 1:20:24happened and there's a lot
- 1:20:24of changes that needs to happen.
- 1:20:26She talks about, you know,
- 1:20:28how CrossFit has changed
- 1:20:29her life and the lives of
- 1:20:31so many people around her.
- 1:20:33And for that reason,
- 1:20:35like it's so important for her to, um,
- 1:20:38to do the open and, um,
- 1:20:42And, you know,
- 1:20:42that's a different
- 1:20:43perspective of other athletes that,
- 1:20:46you know, also don't agree,
- 1:20:48but some of them won't do it.
- 1:20:49And she doesn't agree,
- 1:20:50but also understands the
- 1:20:52influence that it's had on
- 1:20:54her life and the people around her.
- 1:20:57And, you know,
- 1:20:58she's going to partake in the open, which,
- 1:21:02again, I think.
- 1:21:03Um,
- 1:21:03it was a great response for her and
- 1:21:05she's going to do both and,
- 1:21:06and really maximize her
- 1:21:08opportunities this year, I think,
- 1:21:10and roll with her momentum from, um,
- 1:21:14Waterpalooza.
- 1:21:15Now,
- 1:21:15if you haven't listened to her interview,
- 1:21:16it's, it's a really, really good one.
- 1:21:18I think it was my favorite
- 1:21:19that of an athlete that's
- 1:21:21been on that show.
- 1:21:22Um, yeah, she's great.
- 1:21:25Love her.
- 1:21:25Yeah.
- 1:21:26Yeah.
- 1:21:26So I just wanted to put that
- 1:21:27out there and promote that
- 1:21:29because it was really well
- 1:21:31worth the watch.
- 1:21:33I usually watch them every
- 1:21:34Wednesday night when I go to bed.
- 1:21:35Last Wednesday,
- 1:21:36I did not because of
- 1:21:37everything going on with my job.
- 1:21:39And I almost skipped it.
- 1:21:40And I'm so glad I went back
- 1:21:41and grabbed it because it was awesome.
- 1:21:47Um,
- 1:21:48and then the last thing I wanted to
- 1:21:49talk about,
- 1:21:49and I talked about this
- 1:21:50briefly on the round table
- 1:21:51on Thursday is I follow a
- 1:21:54swimming podcast called
- 1:21:55unfiltered water with Katie
- 1:21:57Hoff and Missy Franklin.
- 1:21:59Um, I've done that, uh,
- 1:22:01since before the Olympics this year.
- 1:22:03Um, it's a relatively new podcast,
- 1:22:06only been around a year.
- 1:22:07They had Brooke Wells on.
- 1:22:08Mm-hmm.
- 1:22:11Yeah, it popped into my home,
- 1:22:14like suggested videos.
- 1:22:16And then I saw that you
- 1:22:17talked about it and I was like, okay,
- 1:22:18I'll go click on it.
- 1:22:20And now they've cut it up.
- 1:22:21They're cutting it.
- 1:22:22Yeah, they've done little.
- 1:22:23There's a lot of like little
- 1:22:24eight-minute pieces from it.
- 1:22:26But what I found most fascinating,
- 1:22:29and I talked about some
- 1:22:30things on Thursday,
- 1:22:31and I'll go in a different
- 1:22:32direction tonight,
- 1:22:34is that when swimmers who do swimming,
- 1:22:40and that's all they do is swimming,
- 1:22:42and they train for it for four years,
- 1:22:44Their training is very –
- 1:22:47even though it's just as
- 1:22:48long as a CrossFitter
- 1:22:49that's training to make the
- 1:22:51CrossFit Games,
- 1:22:52it is so monostructurally set, right?
- 1:22:58And you even break it down
- 1:22:59more like this one's a breaststroker,
- 1:23:01and that's all she does is breaststroke.
- 1:23:04So when Brooke is saying, like,
- 1:23:05we don't even know what
- 1:23:06we're going to be
- 1:23:06challenged with when we go to the Games –
- 1:23:09And their thing is like,
- 1:23:10you mean I could be a
- 1:23:11breaststroker and I show up at the games?
- 1:23:13And they say, well,
- 1:23:14this year you're doing butterfly.
- 1:23:17And Brooke's like, yeah, that's how it is.
- 1:23:19And like, that would wreck our world.
- 1:23:24And it was really
- 1:23:25fascinating to hear this
- 1:23:27high-end athlete in awe of
- 1:23:30what CrossFit does.
- 1:23:33And...
- 1:23:35I thought that was really cool.
- 1:23:36The other piece I got out of it,
- 1:23:37and I'm not, I said this Thursday,
- 1:23:39I've never been a big Brooke Wells fan,
- 1:23:41so it was hard for me to watch it,
- 1:23:43but because it was my swimming podcast,
- 1:23:46I went ahead.
- 1:23:48She is really trying to find
- 1:23:50balance in her life at this point,
- 1:23:52and she thinks she's been
- 1:23:54training too hard.
- 1:23:56And it's breaking her body down.
- 1:23:58And so she's trying to find,
- 1:24:00she doesn't want to miss
- 1:24:01every occasion with her
- 1:24:03family and every occasion
- 1:24:05with her friends.
- 1:24:06And she's not going to do that this year.
- 1:24:08She's going to try to be
- 1:24:11more balanced in her
- 1:24:12training moving forward
- 1:24:14through the season.
- 1:24:17But the interesting thing is the podcast,
- 1:24:18the swimming podcast takes
- 1:24:20place in Nashville.
- 1:24:21That's where Brooke lives.
- 1:24:23Katie's husband does CrossFit.
- 1:24:26That's how the connection came up.
- 1:24:28And yeah, it was really, really cool.
- 1:24:33Yeah.
- 1:24:33Anytime there's like sports specifics,
- 1:24:35like athletes that only do that,
- 1:24:38they're always mind blown
- 1:24:39by the fact that we do
- 1:24:40things differently all the time,
- 1:24:42but it's like,
- 1:24:43that's the beauty of CrossFit.
- 1:24:44That's what,
- 1:24:45that's why the methodology works so well.
- 1:24:47Like it's just doing
- 1:24:49different things differently.
- 1:24:51you know, not, not randomly, but you know,
- 1:24:54it's, it's varied.
- 1:24:56Um, but you know, constantly changing and,
- 1:24:59and your body's having to adapt and, um,
- 1:25:03yeah, like I, I love,
- 1:25:05I love that aspect of CrossFit,
- 1:25:06the fact that it's
- 1:25:07different all the time and
- 1:25:08you're not doing the same
- 1:25:09type of training year in and year out and,
- 1:25:12and getting those over usage injuries, um,
- 1:25:15from just doing the same thing.
- 1:25:17And, you know,
- 1:25:17we listened to so many podcasts.
- 1:25:19It was interesting getting this curiosity,
- 1:25:22these curiosity questions
- 1:25:24from people that don't know
- 1:25:26the CrossFit sport that in
- 1:25:27depth asking one of the
- 1:25:30best to ever do it.
- 1:25:32Yeah.
- 1:25:32And there's a lot of
- 1:25:33misconceptions about CrossFit out there,
- 1:25:35right?
- 1:25:35Like I'm, I'm, I went to do an MRI last,
- 1:25:39I think it was last week.
- 1:25:44It was like an MRI that I'd
- 1:25:44booked like from like months ago.
- 1:25:47Um, and, uh, nothing's wrong.
- 1:25:50Like I,
- 1:25:51just my shoulder had like a small
- 1:25:53thing from, um, NorCal.
- 1:25:54And I was like, Oh, they're like,
- 1:25:56what sport do you do?
- 1:25:56And I was like, Oh, CrossFit.
- 1:25:58And then right away, the person was like,
- 1:25:59Oh, that's a dangerous guy.
- 1:26:01Of course, shoulder.
- 1:26:01And I was like, actually, no,
- 1:26:03like I've competed at the
- 1:26:04highest level and I haven't
- 1:26:05had any major injuries.
- 1:26:07And I had to like really talk about,
- 1:26:09you know,
- 1:26:10defend the sport and I was
- 1:26:11there defending it on the
- 1:26:12table like how you know
- 1:26:14it's being smart with your
- 1:26:16body and I really haven't
- 1:26:17had any um you know small
- 1:26:20small little tweaks and I'm
- 1:26:21just like like as soon as
- 1:26:22something is a little bit
- 1:26:23off I'm proactive and I'll
- 1:26:25get something looked at um
- 1:26:27but yeah it's like nope
- 1:26:29this is this is the sport
- 1:26:31this is what it is that's
- 1:26:32what we do the people that
- 1:26:33are getting injured is you
- 1:26:34know ego problems or not
- 1:26:36listening to their body and
- 1:26:39like there's more injuries
- 1:26:40in these type of sports
- 1:26:41than this and it can be for
- 1:26:43anyone so I was there on
- 1:26:44the table defending it and
- 1:26:46being like you could do it
- 1:26:47too you know just selling it
- 1:26:50Every medical professional I
- 1:26:51tell that I do CrossFit, it's immediate.
- 1:26:54I get so angry.
- 1:26:55I'm like, no.
- 1:26:56You guys have no idea.
- 1:26:58You guys are the ones that
- 1:27:00build my edition.
- 1:27:01Oh, I hate when they say that.
- 1:27:02And I'm like, no.
- 1:27:03We keep so many people out
- 1:27:06of hospitals because we're
- 1:27:08making them fitter.
- 1:27:09Yeah.
- 1:27:11So Jeremy says, you sacrifice things,
- 1:27:12comes with the territory.
- 1:27:14She kind of explains it this way.
- 1:27:16At nineteen,
- 1:27:17she made the games by accident.
- 1:27:20She went to regionals in two thousand.
- 1:27:22That would have been sixteen
- 1:27:25at the age of nineteen.
- 1:27:26Made it by accident as made
- 1:27:28it every year other than
- 1:27:29twenty three since then.
- 1:27:33That was the foot injury.
- 1:27:35Yeah.
- 1:27:36And she had a full rupture
- 1:27:38of the plantar fasciitis
- 1:27:41and finished regional or semifinals.
- 1:27:46And she even, she says in the podcast,
- 1:27:48like,
- 1:27:48even if she would have made the game,
- 1:27:50she could not have competed.
- 1:27:52Did she get surgery for that?
- 1:27:53Is that a surgery?
- 1:27:54She did not say.
- 1:27:56Yeah.
- 1:27:57I think she said stem cell.
- 1:27:59So she may have went a different route.
- 1:28:03But, um, but yeah, I think it's just,
- 1:28:07it's been a long time of,
- 1:28:09of steady training six hours a day.
- 1:28:12And, um,
- 1:28:13Yeah.
- 1:28:14Which I find crazy.
- 1:28:15Like I do not train that much.
- 1:28:19Like,
- 1:28:20and I never have like six hours to me.
- 1:28:22It's just like,
- 1:28:23what do you do at the gym for that long?
- 1:28:24Like,
- 1:28:24are they just doing mobility for like
- 1:28:26an hour?
- 1:28:26Are they talking like, like when they,
- 1:28:29when athletes say six hours a day,
- 1:28:31I'm like,
- 1:28:31how much is that actually training?
- 1:28:33Like two and a half.
- 1:28:35And that's what I do.
- 1:28:36I do like two hours,
- 1:28:38two and a half maybe at most.
- 1:28:39And if I'm there just
- 1:28:40chit-chatting away with
- 1:28:41people because that's what I like to do,
- 1:28:42then I'm there a little bit longer.
- 1:28:46But like six hours, I'm like,
- 1:28:47what do you even do for that long?
- 1:28:51Stem cells aren't considered PEDs?
- 1:28:53Apparently not.
- 1:28:56Yeah.
- 1:28:57I was just wondering that.
- 1:28:58When I listened to the buttery thing,
- 1:29:01I was wondering that when
- 1:29:03Sarah said the stem cell too,
- 1:29:05because I don't know enough about that.
- 1:29:06I was like, is that legal?
- 1:29:08I forgot to Google it.
- 1:29:12I don't even know if you can get it.
- 1:29:14For a while,
- 1:29:14it was illegal in the States
- 1:29:15just to get it.
- 1:29:17Right.
- 1:29:18Yeah, you got to go to Mexico to get it.
- 1:29:21But I think it's now legal here.
- 1:29:24And it's,
- 1:29:24it's a naturally occurring thing
- 1:29:26in the body.
- 1:29:27It's not like a, an enhanced cell.
- 1:29:30So is testosterone and
- 1:29:32people can still insert.
- 1:29:34Yeah.
- 1:29:35I don't know.
- 1:29:35I don't even know how you
- 1:29:41would detect it though.
- 1:29:42Cause they're blank when they go in.
- 1:29:44Yeah.
- 1:29:45I don't know.
- 1:29:46But anyway, um,
- 1:29:49It was a great podcast.
- 1:29:50It was really, really well done.
- 1:29:52I really enjoyed it.
- 1:29:53And if you get a chance, check it out.
- 1:29:58But I was also going to say to Carolyn,
- 1:30:00aren't you the definition of the sickness,
- 1:30:03wellness, fitness continuum?
- 1:30:06Like for so many years,
- 1:30:08you have built your fitness
- 1:30:09level to a point where you
- 1:30:11can take back and you don't
- 1:30:15fall back the continuum very far.
- 1:30:19I feel, I mean,
- 1:30:20I feel like I was at my
- 1:30:21fittest probably when I was
- 1:30:23twenty eight to thirty.
- 1:30:24I'm thirty five now,
- 1:30:26but I've still been able to
- 1:30:26compete at the highest level.
- 1:30:27It just depends on the workouts.
- 1:30:28But yeah,
- 1:30:30I think I've done a good job of
- 1:30:31listening to my body,
- 1:30:32of playing other sports.
- 1:30:36And like,
- 1:30:37I don't really take an off season.
- 1:30:39Like I've kind of that
- 1:30:39definition of just kind of always,
- 1:30:41you know,
- 1:30:42training and ready to compete at
- 1:30:44any point in the year.
- 1:30:45Like I'm not peaking for anything.
- 1:30:46Like I'm just ready to go.
- 1:30:50Yeah.
- 1:30:52CrossFit says my Mavs Lakers
- 1:30:53joke didn't land.
- 1:30:54I'll be honest with you guys.
- 1:30:55You guys were bringing in
- 1:30:56the comments so fast,
- 1:30:58could not even keep up.
- 1:31:02I know the Mavericks and the
- 1:31:03Lakers had a big trade last night.
- 1:31:06Yeah.
- 1:31:06And I don't know about
- 1:31:06Lakers defense right now,
- 1:31:08but Anthony Davis left, went to the Mavs,
- 1:31:12uh, port, uh, Luca junk, junk, junk,
- 1:31:16junk.
- 1:31:17It's close enough.
- 1:31:18I don't know.
- 1:31:19I was going to say juke it,
- 1:31:20but that's a donkage.
- 1:31:21Yeah.
- 1:31:22Yeah.
- 1:31:22Donkage.
- 1:31:23I went to the Lakers and
- 1:31:25some other stuff happened,
- 1:31:26but those are the two big names.
- 1:31:28Um, uh,
- 1:31:29Yeah.
- 1:31:30Difference in age.
- 1:31:31I'm a big NBA guy.
- 1:31:33Yeah.
- 1:31:33Like Luca is like a top
- 1:31:35three to five player.
- 1:31:39AD is, you know, very,
- 1:31:40very good defensively.
- 1:31:42He can be one of the best players,
- 1:31:43but he's often injured and
- 1:31:45is inconsistent in this play.
- 1:31:47It'll be, it'll be an interesting trade.
- 1:31:51I mean, it's,
- 1:31:52it's a better trade for the Lakers.
- 1:31:53Absolutely.
- 1:31:54Because you just grabbed a
- 1:31:55twenty five year old in his prime and,
- 1:31:59unless you got fat I don't
- 1:32:02feel like he's ever been in
- 1:32:03great shape but yeah all
- 1:32:09right well I'm sure we'll
- 1:32:12talk about that sometime
- 1:32:13this week on lunch with the
- 1:32:14collides deal if I get my
- 1:32:15project finished tomorrow
- 1:32:17um with that guys
- 1:32:20Well, that was a quick show.
