- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And a brand new question for all of us to self-reflect, self-connect, and email me if you desire.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: My answer to last week's question,
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: which was,
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: what is quote unquote fake work you've done for yourself that has contributed to
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: the bigger vision of your desired life,
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: though maybe didn't or hasn't directly contributed to your financial development?
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Listen to episode 33 for more info on quote-unquote fake work.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: There are so many things I could say right now.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: However,
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I will give just one example for you to reflect on and consider what things you
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: have done that maybe don't quite directly contribute to your financial development.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Though as far as Planet Butter is concerned,
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: in the big picture,
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: it definitely does contribute to your financial development.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So for me,
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: about three years ago now,
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: which is crazy,
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I made a coloring page out of this sketch that I drew of a Planet Butter Nutter volcano,
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: with Blissy driving Chippy,
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: the convertible,
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: the transforming convertible in the books,
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: on top of the explosion of the volcano.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: And I biked all over Venice Beach,
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Santa Monica,
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: and the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles for hours and hours and hours and hours
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: and hours,
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: distributing my coloring pages to over 40 restaurants on the coast of Southern California.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: actually,
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: first I biked door-to-door to pitch it,
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: and then I drove door-to-door distributing them afterwards.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: After they said yes, I invested nearly a week's worth of work in all phases of this operation.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: I even bought crayons for all of the restaurants.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: I wasn't even selling anything at the time aside from little stickers on my website.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: I sincerely just wanted to put a little Planet Butter love seed and get kids off
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: their damn technology and cool adults in restaurants.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: So I did it.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: It was a seed of love and long game marketing strategy, not a direct financial contribution
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And I got free pizza that day from a pizza shop that I went to because they were so
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: loving and supportive of my Planet Butter efforts.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: They knew deep down they were contributing to the most sustainable foundation for
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: exponential development that is Planet Butter.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: I'll see you on the Planet Butter jet.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: A note on clarity.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: All right, a note on clarity.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: This is actually an excerpt from my Planet Butter Substack publication,
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: self-friendship article from February 15th,
- 3:232024.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Confusion is for the curious.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Practice is for the confident.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: And remember, nobody cares.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Until they do.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: And by then, you'll have clarity.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: And that is why they will care.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: The only way to clarity is through confusion.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: And the only way through confusion is practice.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: And the only way through practice is confidence.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And the only way to become confident is through self-friendship,
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: embracing,
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: understanding,
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: and enjoying oneself.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Clarity is an ever-evolving perspective.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Hmm.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Now a perspective boogie dance with there's plenty of fish in the sea.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: I overheard a conversation at the gym about relationships.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: This girl was frustrated because her friends kept saying there's plenty of fish in
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: the sea,
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: but she felt there are so few fish she actually wants.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I chimed in sharing that I've had similar thoughts,
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: but my conclusion is that it actually makes it a lot easier to meet the right
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: person because we have clarity about what we want and our standards for connection.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Now, to add to that, it's really only quote unquote difficult when you're trying to meet someone.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: If you're not trying, then it's not hard.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Nothing is hard when we don't try.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: For fun, let's consider this.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: A fisherman doesn't try to catch a fish.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: They're intentionable.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Intentionable.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: That could be a new Blizzard's dictionary word.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: They are intentional about how their fishing rod shows up,
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: where it exists,
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: and then the fish are attracted to the fishing rod.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Once they catch the fish,
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: there's a natural push and pull dynamic,
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: much like a human connection,
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: until they're united out of the water.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: So sometimes,
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: as we know,
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: the fisherman sometimes ends up eating the fish,
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: which isn't quite what we want out of our human connections.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: And the good news is between humans, that is rare.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: However, since we are talking about metaphorical fish and fishing, the takeaway is be the fishing rod.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Be intentional, show up well, and stay grounded until you attract the right fishy.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Now a perspective dance with clarifying verse justifying.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: As I see it, whether we're clarifying or justifying depends on our audience.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: When we are not understood or not feeling understood,
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: we either clarify or we justify and it depends who we're talking to.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: With open-minded, curious, and interested people, when we aren't understood...
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: We can safely clarify what we are saying.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: These people want to understand us.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: These people are open to the fact that they did not understand us for the moment.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Or they are open to the fact that maybe we simply felt misunderstood in the moment
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: and they want to support us through that moment.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: When we are talking to,
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: on the other end,
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: judgmental,
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: close-minded,
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: or condescending people,
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: or feel like we are experiencing those types of people due to our own past
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: experiences slash emotional wounds,
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: we will justify what we are saying as a means to feeling understood.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Though this type of person isn't the type to want to understand us.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: So it doesn't matter what we say or how it's justified.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: They will only hear what they want to hear and see you how they want to see you.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Now, a party of one.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: As a loving reminder, party of one means having fun with oneself, for oneself, as oneself.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Anywhere, everywhere, no matter who's there.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: We become our party of one by consistently practicing self-friendship.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Each episode,
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: I share little stories from my life that happen thanks to me showing up in the
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: world as my party of one.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: So I am a member of a little beautiful, amazing recovery spa, ice bath, sauna, all the fun stuff.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I wanted to share with you lovely listeners as a consideration for your chosen
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: activities in your daily practice of self-friendship.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: So for me,
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: the sauna is a place I access a lot of ideas in the interest of Planet Butter and
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: an activity that is exceptionally fun for me.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: It is not only rejuvenating myself so I can maintain my mental clarity and creative vortex,
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: it also results in showing up that much better for society.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: This is a peak example of self-friendship in action.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: My party of one.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: Now, my self-friendship article from July 13th, 2024.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: So friendship, it's a lifestyle.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: This week,
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I'm actually going to gift you guys with the full article because of the spirit of
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: the article and my desire for us to connect on an even deeper level.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Planet Butter.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: It's critical thinking,
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: perspective dancing,
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: creative brainstorming,
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: art,
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: entertainment,
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: humor,
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: and it's about to be your favorite food.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: It's my world.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I'm living in it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm inviting you to bop in to reflect on your world.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Planet Butter is my world.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And it's the place for you to visit for a fresh perspective to take with you as you
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: self-reflect and self-connect in your self-friendship practice.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Self-friendship is my concept and phrase I define as embracing, understanding, and enjoying oneself.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: I articulate the nuances and approach to self-friendship,
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: for your consideration,
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: through my playfully helpful content,
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: as I lovingly say,
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: and I recognize my efforts to be a contribution to individual self-development.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: I also recognize many people tend to associate self-development with self-help.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: While I understand there is a level of relation between the two, remember, I love nuances.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: The nuance with self-development as it relates to self-help,
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: as I see it,
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: is that self-development encompasses the broader spectrum of our evolutionary existence,
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: focusing on holistic growth and long-term personal evolution.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Whereas self-help tends to address specific areas of our lives,
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: offering targeted solutions for particular issues or challenges.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I also personally don't love the phrase self-help.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: It feels un-invigorating to me.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: That said,
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: while self-friendship is a contribution to our self-development,
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: my hope is to inspire everyone to adapt self-friendship as a lifestyle approach.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: By default of our lifestyle operating from a place of self-friendship,
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: embracing,
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: understanding,
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: and enjoying ourselves,
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: we are developing the self.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: However, we are doing so in a way that harnesses the actual relationship we have with ourselves and
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: and prioritizing fun in the process.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: The more we practice self-friendship,
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: the sooner we become our party of one,
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: having fun with ourselves,
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: for ourselves,
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: as ourselves,
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: anywhere,
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: everywhere,
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: no matter who's there.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Self-friendship as I see it is equivalent to human existence,
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: the human condition,
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: which through the lens of self-friendship is conscious creativity.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Not not self-help, but not self-help.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Planet butter.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Self-friendship.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Party of one.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: It's your world and you're living in it.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Now, I love this one.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: A perspective dance with the word sexy.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: First of all, I love this word.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: It's a great word.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing with calling things or people sexy that I absolutely adore and
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: think is totally overlooked and underappreciated.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: When we say something or someone is sexy,
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: it is typically projected as though someone or something is being or doing
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: something to be that way.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: However, the nuance that we love on Planet Butter is actually...
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: The thing or person is a point of attraction and attraction is subjective.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: So when we say sexy, we are actually taking ownership of our own arousal and sexuality.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: And that is self-friendship.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: All right, a perspective dance with retirement.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I don't believe in retirement.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: When we practice self-friendship,
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: the daily practice of,
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: as you know,
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: embracing,
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: understanding,
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: and enjoying ourselves,
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: say it really fast so that we move quick because I know you already know this,
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: we prioritize our own best interests and well-being.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: This eventually leads us to turn a significant profit on the activities we love and
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: how we show up in the world and find fulfillment in doing so.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Essentially, this is quote unquote working.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: So why would we ever stop or quote unquote retire?
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: A perspective dance with voice notes.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: This is very simple and I just love to encourage this.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Voice notes are phone calls we don't need to be available for at the same time.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: That's the perspective dance.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Let me know what you think.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Now a note on magic.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: The other day, my matcha suddenly came with peanuts.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: When every single other time I've ever ordered a matcha in Bali,
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: it comes with a cute dessert like a baby cookie or brownie bite.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: It arrived with peanuts on a day that really,
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: really made a lot of sense for me to receive such a sign from the universe.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: It's insane how many times I've happy cried, which I talked about last week on episode 33.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: out of sheer excitement for my life and for Planet Butter with absolutely nothing
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: tangible happening yet to quote unquote warrant it.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: But it's energy.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: I truly operate on a highly conscious energetic level.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: I don't need something tangible or obvious to happen for me to feel the energetic
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: shifts of magic coming and being here because magic is always present.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I'm doing my part of the magic trick, but I'm not at the peak of the performance yet.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: You know, like when a magician makes a dove appear?
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: The uni is the magician.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I'm the dove.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I'm in the uni's sleeve or hat or whatever.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: I'm floating in space and I'm doing what I'm meant to be doing in alignment with the uni's magic tricks.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: So soon,
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: very soon,
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: mark my words,
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: the uni is going to whip me out and I'm going to fly in my peanut butter jet and
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: all of you are going to be like,
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: wow,
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: where did she come from?
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: How did she do that?
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: And I'll say, it wasn't me.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: It was the magician.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: You'll ask who the magician is and I'll say the uni.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And then I'll circle it back to self-friendship because that's at the root of humanity as I see it.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: Because I embrace,
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: understand,
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: and enjoy myself,
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: the uni,
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: the magician,
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: is able to effectively perform its magic tricks with me.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: We're a great team.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Ta-da!
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: Magic.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: It's just the vibes.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And you know why this is so important, guys?
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Because the day slash days,
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: because we cannot limit ourselves,
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: that the equivalent of the Big Bang happens,
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: but for Planet Butter,
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: is going to be the day that I say,
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: I knew it.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: But I already am saying that.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: So see you on my Planet Butter chat.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Ah, I'm so excited.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: I might start crying again.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: A perspective dance with work.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Instead of saying, I have to work, we can say, I get to work.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: I don't need to explain that one.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: You know better.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: I'm just reminding you.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: A note on change.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: I think it's so funny when people refer to industries as ever-changing.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Like, no shit.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Everything is ever-changing.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: People say it to sound dramatic or like they accomplished something despite ever-changing circumstances.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: But whatever was accomplished was part of the change in the industry that they are referring to.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Not despite the change.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Things change because people change and are intentionally contributing new layers
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: and implementing discoveries and ideas.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: We are the change.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Ever-changing is us.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: So we can't say...
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: This industry is ever changing and we did this and blah, blah, blah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Like, cut it out.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Just own whatever you did.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: It's probably amazing.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Now a poem I found.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: I wrote this a long time ago and I appreciated it when I rediscovered it.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So I thought I'd share it here.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Dreams lead.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Souls follow.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Bodies flow.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: And sometimes it's upside down.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Cute.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Now, a perspective dance with intuition.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Consider this.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Intuition is telepathy with the universe.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: Huh?
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Pretty cool.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Now, last and never least, question of the week.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: What less can I do?
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I'll say it again.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: What less can
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Can I do?
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: To be notified of new episodes and receive more playfully helpful content,
