- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop, and
- 0:23let's start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:28Hey everybody good. Morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So this is the last. Day officially.
- 0:35Of my little staycation to work on everything at the farm.
- 0:39And I've gotten so much, I don't know, random things done that
- 0:45we're just bugging the hell out of me.
- 0:47And it's interesting because did I make a ton of progress in one
- 0:51specific area? No.
- 0:53Did I sit at my computer and do any of the work that I intended
- 0:57on doing? Nope.
- 0:58Didn't do it one bit. I But I got a lot done in all
- 1:03the random little things that were hanging out there.
- 1:06And I know from my own personal experience how those weigh on
- 1:11me, but I always seem to forget how much they weigh on me until
- 1:15I actually take care of them. And then I go, huh.
- 1:18Now, for instance, there may be something that's silly to some
- 1:22person, but not silly to me or to you in your own world.
- 1:27But those little tiny things eat away at our, at our, at our
- 1:32focus because they keep drawing us back in.
- 1:34They keep saying, hey, well, you didn't get this done, you didn't
- 1:37get this done, you didn't get this done.
- 1:39And and that's what was really bothersome.
- 1:42Like there are certain things that I can do during my normal
- 1:45week without having any issue at all.
- 1:47I get up very early. I can take care of stuff, but
- 1:50there are just some things that I really wanted to be able to do
- 1:53and focus my attention on them and give it like 100% of that
- 1:58attention being right out in front.
- 2:00Meaning if I'm, if I'm constructing something and I was
- 2:04constructing a new flower garden around that water garden that we
- 2:10have to bring in even more pollinators and give them more
- 2:12choices of food. And I mean, granted, it's a 2
- 2:17fold thing for me. Like I know I'm taking care of
- 2:20them in the process of doing it, but I also know that in the
- 2:23process of doing this, that I am making something absolutely
- 2:28beautiful for all of us to enjoy.
- 2:30And that's that's ultimately the goal that I love so much is
- 2:34having them come in and have a beautiful, you know, space to
- 2:38come in and a safe place where they can come in and keep
- 2:40getting all the food they need for whatever it is that they're
- 2:44doing. And I'm not just talking about
- 2:45butterflies. I'm talking about bees, native
- 2:48bees. I'm really big into helping
- 2:50native bees just because I know they need it.
- 2:54But anyway, I got that part done and it's something that started
- 2:59off to be intended in one way and then it grew into something
- 3:02completely different and it's going to keep expanding.
- 3:06And I've actually called the gentleman that I've had do some
- 3:10other things out here to come and check it out and say, hey,
- 3:13can, what are your thoughts with this?
- 3:15Because I'm kind of a little bit out of, I want to do something
- 3:18bigger, but I need equipment and so many little things.
- 3:21I even went and looked at a tractor because there are
- 3:25limitations to what I can physically do by myself, like
- 3:29stripping away soil when she feels my pain, stripping away
- 3:33soil. I would need a tractor for that
- 3:36to help me. There are just certain things
- 3:38that would go better if I had something.
- 3:40So and I made the decision to go and spend the time to, to
- 3:45actually look at that. And I have to tell you, it was
- 3:48such an invigorating feeling to know that I could sit there, not
- 3:53rush, have a conversation and say, OK, I want to come back,
- 3:57give me everything. Telling them, hey, listen, I'm
- 3:59making a comparison. I'm going here, I'm looking at
- 4:02this, you know, I'm going to let you know, let you know, but I'm,
- 4:06I'm definitely making a comparison and I felt so good
- 4:10about doing all of that. I just felt like it was so smart
- 4:13and so beneficial to my brain to do something like this.
- 4:18So why am I bringing this up? Because I know as a human being,
- 4:22you have to, if you're listening to this and you're a human,
- 4:24which I assume you are, you are going to be feeling the same
- 4:28way. You're going to be saying, hey,
- 4:30I have these things. I have these bothersome things
- 4:33that get to me. I can't stand them.
- 4:35I don't like them. I wish I could have taken them
- 4:38off my list. So sit down and make the list of
- 4:43those little tiny. And again, this isn't like the
- 4:46annoying list. These aren't things that are
- 4:48annoying you. They're just small little things
- 4:50that are looming out there. They're just little, tiny things
- 4:53that, you know, oh man, I just love to get that taken care of.
- 4:57And if you did, how, how much of A relief would it be to you to
- 5:00actually have it done? And that's how I'm thinking of
- 5:03it is it's not annoying as much as I really want this done
- 5:09because it's something I really wanted.
- 5:11So look at it from the perspective of these are not,
- 5:15these are not bad things. These are just things that you
- 5:18you really, really want. So focus on that and clean it up
- 5:21because I promise you it will feel so much better.
- 5:24All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 5:27will see you tomorrow. Bye.
