- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Happy game day to you. It
- 0:18Speaker 1: is officially week thirteen. This evening NFL Now from our
- 0:23Speaker 1: news room in Los Angeles. Thank you for being here.
- 0:26Speaker 1: My name is Andrew Ceciliano. All the big Sunday games again,
- 0:29Speaker 1: we are live in Foxborough. We will put those games
- 0:31Speaker 1: on your screen coming up shortly right now. However, we
- 0:35Speaker 1: opened this hour in Cleveland where DeShawn Watson was on
- 0:39Speaker 1: the practice field yesterday and today for the very first
- 0:42Speaker 1: time since mid August, he was on the podium. He
- 0:46Speaker 1: did not look backwards. He only looked forward. As a
- 0:50Speaker 1: matter of fact, he only wanted to take football questions
- 0:54Speaker 1: ahead of the Browns game in Houston on Sunday. I
- 0:59Speaker 1: understand that you guys have, uh, you know a lot
- 1:02Speaker 1: of questions. Um, But with my leave a team and
- 1:05Speaker 1: like clinical team, UM, there's only football questions that I
- 1:09Speaker 1: can really address at this time. And I also want
- 1:11Speaker 1: to think most importantly, ja Kobe, the big brother he's
- 1:16Speaker 1: been to to me and everyone in that locker room.
- 1:19Speaker 1: The passion, the grit, the leadership he has shown, uh
- 1:22Speaker 1: these past weeks. Everyone who done seeing it I mean,
- 1:25Speaker 1: he's a he's the ultimate guy that everyone wants to,
- 1:28Speaker 1: you know, follow, So he's been awesome for me. Our
- 1:31Speaker 1: relationship has been great, the bond has been great. Uh,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and we're going to continue to grow from there and uh,
- 1:36Speaker 1: you know, help win some some more football games for
- 1:38Speaker 1: the Cleveland Browns. So I'm hoping to answer any football questions,
- 1:42Speaker 1: Tom Sellan. Part of your agreement with them we was
- 1:45Speaker 1: to undergo counseling and therapy while you were away. What
- 1:48Speaker 1: did you learn about yourself during that time? And how
- 1:50Speaker 1: do you apply that to now and going forward? Um? Now,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I respect your question, I understand, but that's that's more
- 1:57Speaker 1: in that phase of clinical and legal stuff. And uh,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you know I've been advised to, you know, stay away
- 2:04Speaker 1: from that and keep that person. So, Sean, here's a
- 2:06Speaker 1: there's a football question that's I'm sorry, I'm gonna I'm
- 2:09Speaker 1: gonna call you. How do you feel about playing your
- 2:13Speaker 1: first game in Houston? Uh? You know, I'm inscided. I'm
- 2:16Speaker 1: excided to just play football in general, um, in front
- 2:19Speaker 1: of Cleveland Browns fans, but also in front of some
- 2:20Speaker 1: of the Houston Testans fans. Uh. You know, I respect
- 2:24Speaker 1: the whole organization of the Houston Testans. I respect them
- 2:26Speaker 1: in their family. I respect everyone that was there that
- 2:29Speaker 1: drafted me in seventeen. There's been great memories, fund memories.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Uh you know, I still have a home in Houston.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I still have friends and family that that's still in Houston.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Relationships and still there people some of the players on
- 2:42Speaker 1: the team you know I played with, are seeing, you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: come up from you know, maybe practice squad or from injuries.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So you know, I'm excited to get in front of
- 2:50Speaker 1: all those fans. I have so much love for the
- 2:52Speaker 1: city of Houston and Ashtown and everyone in that city
- 2:55Speaker 1: pretty much knows that. Uh So I'm decided to do that.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But you know, the most important thing is, you know,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm excited to be in front of Cleveland Browns fans
- 3:02Speaker 1: for sure. Okay, this is a football question. It also
- 3:07Speaker 1: ties into some of the other stuff. It's it's football related. So, uh,
- 3:11Speaker 1: what do you say to fans who might still believe,
- 3:13Speaker 1: after all this happened, that DeShawn Watson should not be
- 3:16Speaker 1: the face of an NFL franchise. What do you say
- 3:18Speaker 1: to those folks? Like I said, I'm focusing on football
- 3:21Speaker 1: and that's My main focus is football and preparing to
- 3:24Speaker 1: be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Brown so I
- 3:26Speaker 1: can ascute the game plan to try to get him
- 3:28Speaker 1: win This Sunday, Scott Shaun, was it important to you
- 3:32Speaker 1: to come back for this Texans game? When you agree
- 3:35Speaker 1: to this? I don't, um now. I was just trying
- 3:38Speaker 1: to do whatever I can do to to play football
- 3:41Speaker 1: in two So you know, most of the settlements stuff
- 3:45Speaker 1: with the NFL was mostly my agency and legal team.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I had no control. My main focus was doing everything
- 3:51Speaker 1: I need to do so I can play this year.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And what kind of what do you think the reaction
- 3:54Speaker 1: or happens for will be? Like, um, I'm not sharing.
- 3:58Speaker 1: My main focus is locked in on the game plan
- 4:00Speaker 1: and trying to scute and make sure that I'm keeping
- 4:02Speaker 1: the standard, the standard for the Cleveland Brown so we
- 4:04Speaker 1: can try to with and the standard is right now
- 4:07Speaker 1: there are a four win team right on the fringe.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I think you could say of the playoff race. Obviously
- 4:12Speaker 1: five and and seven would look hack of a lot better.
- 4:15Speaker 1: This week, James Palmer was there in Cleveland, Mark Ross
- 4:19Speaker 1: with me as well. There's a lot to unpack there.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Let's keep it of the football, James, at least for now,
- 4:25Speaker 1: what has Deshaun Watson been doing these last eleven weeks
- 4:29Speaker 1: to try to get ready for this thing on Sunday?
- 4:34Speaker 1: And you mentioned trying to get ready for this thing
- 4:36Speaker 1: on Sunday. Well, most of the guys we've talked to
- 4:38Speaker 1: over the last two days have said, yes, there's more
- 4:40Speaker 1: buzz with Deshaun Watson back at practice. There's more media
- 4:43Speaker 1: here in Cleveland because of everything that's gone on. But
- 4:45Speaker 1: they've all said it's been a very seamless transition because
- 4:48Speaker 1: of what Deshaun Watson has done in the eleven games
- 4:51Speaker 1: that he's been away. He watched a lot of football
- 4:53Speaker 1: watch guys like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, but also
- 4:56Speaker 1: studying a lot of defensive schemes, setting a lot of
- 4:58Speaker 1: the offensive system and schemes that they run near with
- 5:01Speaker 1: Kevin Stefanski actually asked for cut ups of his wide
- 5:04Speaker 1: receivers like them Ray Cooper when he had time with
- 5:06Speaker 1: the Raiders or the Cowboys to study those guys and
- 5:08Speaker 1: how they liked the football and how they operate. Donovan
- 5:11Speaker 1: People's Jones told me today that he's had a lot
- 5:13Speaker 1: of conversations with Shaun Watson once he was allowed back
- 5:16Speaker 1: in the building on October tent then allowed in those
- 5:18Speaker 1: meetings about how they operate and scrambled drills, how he
- 5:21Speaker 1: wants the football in certain instances, and once he was
- 5:24Speaker 1: allowed back in those meetings. Over the last few weeks,
- 5:26Speaker 1: he's tried to address his teammates, his receivers, his skill
- 5:29Speaker 1: guys the same way Jacoby Brissette has to try to
- 5:32Speaker 1: make this a very seamless operation between the two, and
- 5:35Speaker 1: it seems to be the case this week. Obviously, a
- 5:37Speaker 1: game is different, Obviously when they hit the field on Sunday,
- 5:40Speaker 1: it's different. But throughout this week they've seemed to think
- 5:42Speaker 1: it's been very seamless. Okay, so we have a quarterback
- 5:45Speaker 1: who won a game last week, whose teammates love in
- 5:49Speaker 1: in Jacoby Brissett, who now steps back Mark Ross and
- 5:53Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson steps in. It didn't really look good in
- 5:58Speaker 1: the preseason trying to camp mixed reviews. It's been seven
- 6:04Speaker 1: hundred days since he played a regular season game. What
- 6:07Speaker 1: do you expect. I'm gonna focus on football, Andrew and
- 6:12Speaker 1: execute this segment here and talk about Deshaun Watson at
- 6:16Speaker 1: his in his prime, is a top five quarterback in
- 6:19Speaker 1: the NFL undisputed to his talent that he has. But
- 6:22Speaker 1: that is a long time to not actually play in
- 6:26Speaker 1: a football game. And when you always hear about practice
- 6:29Speaker 1: versus the game, and it changes. What changes Mostly it's
- 6:32Speaker 1: the speed and the intensity of a practice compared to
- 6:36Speaker 1: a game that you just cannot simulate at all in practice.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And then it's also the intricacies of the defense of
- 6:42Speaker 1: what the defense has given you. In practice, the defense
- 6:45Speaker 1: is really playing off cards. The coaches get the the
- 6:47Speaker 1: defenders cards that the offense works works off of and against.
- 6:52Speaker 1: But in the game it's all the unknowns of what
- 6:54Speaker 1: that defense is going to present to you. So with
- 6:56Speaker 1: the Shawn Watson having that step up, not a year
- 6:59Speaker 1: or two years, seven hundred day, I mean that is
- 7:00Speaker 1: a long time to have. Okay, now jump right into
- 7:03Speaker 1: an NFL game and try to be a year prime.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I would expect him to be rusty, look rusty the
- 7:08Speaker 1: offense and look rusty, not look as efficient and effected
- 7:12Speaker 1: as it did in Spurts under Jacoby Brissette. We won't
- 7:14Speaker 1: even talk about the leadership aspect because I don't know
- 7:17Speaker 1: what's going on behind the scenes there. If he's been
- 7:18Speaker 1: a great leader or not, but just on the field,
- 7:21Speaker 1: I would expect there to be some sort of growing
- 7:23Speaker 1: pains with DeShawn Watson, not just magically going there and
- 7:26Speaker 1: be an m v P type level player. And we're
- 7:28Speaker 1: saying this as they get ready to face a Houston
- 7:31Speaker 1: team that has been to be blunt barely competitive the
- 7:35Speaker 1: last two weeks, outscored fifty to nothing in the first
- 7:39Speaker 1: half the last two weeks, and right now, with one
- 7:42Speaker 1: win in one tie holds the number one overall pick
- 7:46Speaker 1: next year. All right, Mark Ross, James Palmer, thank you,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Coming up to night. It is the kickoff on a
- 7:52Speaker 1: week thirteen. The builds in the Patriots, the first one
- 7:55Speaker 1: in New England. The second one is going to be
- 7:57Speaker 1: in Buffalo, week eighteen. We are streaming tonight as we
- 8:01Speaker 1: are on Prime Video. As always, this is a remat of,
- 8:05Speaker 1: if you want to call the remap the playoff game
- 8:08Speaker 1: a year ago in which hither Mike Giardi, Hi there,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Brian Bauldinger, Um, the Bills didn't punt, didn't attempt to
- 8:14Speaker 1: fuel goal GRD. All they did was score touchdowns. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 1: all they did was score touchdowns in that game. And
- 8:22Speaker 1: they also scored touchdowns in the game right after Christmas.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Here in fact, the Patriots haven't forced the Bills to
- 8:27Speaker 1: punt since the first series of the third quarter of
- 8:30Speaker 1: their first meeting last year. That's twenty possessions includes a
- 8:34Speaker 1: couple kneel downs in there, but that is outrageous, that
- 8:37Speaker 1: is unacceptable for the Patriots. Adrian Phillip said, we got
- 8:40Speaker 1: our face kicked in. Jonathan Jones, who didn't play in
- 8:43Speaker 1: those games, their defensive back, said it was like watching
- 8:45Speaker 1: your little brother get into a fight and you couldn't
- 8:47Speaker 1: help him. The Patriots got absolutely stomped, gave up eighty
- 8:50Speaker 1: points in those last two games. So part of their
- 8:52Speaker 1: focus this offseason was how to deal with Josh Allen,
- 8:56Speaker 1: how to get faster. They tried to remake their linebacking corps.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Dante Hi Towers not back, Kyle Van Noise not back.
- 9:02Speaker 1: But the problem is the guys that they brought in
- 9:04Speaker 1: to be the faster, quick of guys Devon played as
- 9:06Speaker 1: well as the thumpers like Jillanni Tavai and Juwan Bentley.
- 9:08Speaker 1: The one good thing for the Patriots is their secondaries
- 9:11Speaker 1: played really well. Jack Jones is elevated Marcus Jones when
- 9:14Speaker 1: he's got a chance. Those are both rookies. They played well.
- 9:17Speaker 1: So the Patriots are gonna need to do a good
- 9:18Speaker 1: job on the back end because I would think Josh
- 9:21Speaker 1: Allen has some time. Yeah, and let's not give this
- 9:24Speaker 1: Patriots defense any less respect than it deserves. Their fourth total,
- 9:28Speaker 1: sixth and scoring and they are top ten against both
- 9:31Speaker 1: the rush and the past. Josh Allen deserves all the headlights,
- 9:35Speaker 1: or rather the headlines. Caven speak English today, Um, but yes,
- 9:40Speaker 1: as you show this Patriots defense is played well. Thank
- 9:43Speaker 1: you Baldi, thank you Bike Gi already live there in
- 9:45Speaker 1: Foxbor ahead of the kickoff on week thirteen and Tana,
- 9:49Speaker 1: let's get the insiders in here now, Tom Philoso, Ian
- 9:52Speaker 1: Rappleport is a big day off the field as well,
- 9:54Speaker 1: not just in Foxburg, but in New York as Odell
- 9:57Speaker 1: Beckham Jr. And is in the building after a month
- 10:02Speaker 1: more than a month, many months, many weeks, a lot
- 10:05Speaker 1: of hours on the net. We're talking about Odell Beckham Jr.
- 10:08Speaker 1: His freidency, his knee, where he's gonna visit. He's actually
- 10:11Speaker 1: visiting a team today, the first of three visit that
- 10:13Speaker 1: Beckham has lined up. He is with the new York
- 10:16Speaker 1: Giants today, gonna stay till tomorrow. He goes from New
- 10:20Speaker 1: York slash New Jersey to also New York to go
- 10:23Speaker 1: visit the Buffalo Bills and of course hang out with
- 10:25Speaker 1: his friend Von Miller, still recovering from that knee injury.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Von Miller, the chief recruiter for the Bills, had a
- 10:31Speaker 1: huge part in sort of securing this visit and making
- 10:34Speaker 1: sure the Bills get a look. And then he's gonna
- 10:36Speaker 1: go home, spend Sunday watching football like the rest of us,
- 10:38Speaker 1: then go visit the Dallas Cowboys. That is a little
- 10:41Speaker 1: bit of a whirlwind for Beckham. It also puts him
- 10:44Speaker 1: in a position where, assuming the physical goes well and
- 10:48Speaker 1: the knee injury obviously a huge part of this, he
- 10:50Speaker 1: could get with a team, practice a little bit and
- 10:52Speaker 1: be ready for the stretch run, which is exactly how
- 10:55Speaker 1: it worked out for Beckham last year with the Super
- 10:58Speaker 1: Bowl champions. The big difference being last year ian at
- 11:02Speaker 1: least Odell Beckham Jr. Was practicing through the course of
- 11:05Speaker 1: training camp and wasn't hyper involved in the Brown's offense,
- 11:09Speaker 1: but at least was on the field in some capacity.
- 11:12Speaker 1: In this case, you're getting a thirty year old wide
- 11:14Speaker 1: receiver who's going to walk in the door at some point,
- 11:16Speaker 1: we believe in December, and the question becomes how quickly
- 11:19Speaker 1: can Odell Beckham Jr. Assimilate and learn an offense, get
- 11:23Speaker 1: the rhythm and timing and temple he needs with his
- 11:25Speaker 1: new quarterback, and actually make an impact on the field.
- 11:28Speaker 1: We also know and have been saying that Odell Beckham Jr.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Potentially could be looking for a multi year contract that
- 11:33Speaker 1: could use the tail end here to be the jump
- 11:36Speaker 1: off with a new team into three cap space then also,
- 11:41Speaker 1: of course, is always going to be an issue here.
- 11:43Speaker 1: The Bills, by the way, did clear a little bit
- 11:45Speaker 1: of cap space this morning restructuring trade abous Whites deal,
- 11:48Speaker 1: but that was going to happen either way because they
- 11:50Speaker 1: just didn't have a whole lot of cap space to
- 11:52Speaker 1: work with Andrew as White, who did get back of
- 11:54Speaker 1: the field for the first time of the year on
- 11:56Speaker 1: Thanksgiving a plate only fifteen snaps and really didn't see
- 12:01Speaker 1: the field after the first quarter. Let's get to justin fields.
- 12:04Speaker 1: All the talk and obviously about Aaron Rodgers, and he
- 12:07Speaker 1: seems to be okay. He says he should be okay
- 12:09Speaker 1: on Sunday. Will find out more today if and when
- 12:11Speaker 1: he does practice justin fields. I think we've kind of
- 12:14Speaker 1: overlooked this one a bit. Left shoulder. What's his status, Well,
- 12:20Speaker 1: he was limited yesterday. I would expect more of that today.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Still dealing with partially torn leghments and his non throwing shoulder.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And you know there are times when other athletes, other quarterbacks,
- 12:28Speaker 1: have had this in a non throwing shoulder and have
- 12:30Speaker 1: taken two or three weeks to come back. So the
- 12:33Speaker 1: fact that he's still limited maybe not a great sign
- 12:36Speaker 1: that he'll be able to play, and also not a
- 12:37Speaker 1: great sign they signed another quarterback, Tim Boyle ended up
- 12:40Speaker 1: coming over to the active roster for the Chicago Bears,
- 12:44Speaker 1: an indication that at least he will be active on
- 12:46Speaker 1: game That you wouldn't sign someone from someone else's practice
- 12:48Speaker 1: squad unless you're gonna have them active on game day.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Maybe doesn't bode well for justin fields. We'll see how
- 12:54Speaker 1: he plays the week out and what his status is
- 12:56Speaker 1: going forward. Okay, then there's Lamar Jackson tom as the
- 13:00Speaker 1: Ravens get ready for the Broncos. Lamar left practice early
- 13:04Speaker 1: yesterday with what the Ravens were calling a quad any
- 13:08Speaker 1: injury update there, lander Ley Ravens have begun practice at
- 13:13Speaker 1: Owen's Mills, and according to reporters on the scene, Lamar
- 13:15Speaker 1: Jackson is back on the practice field and working. He
- 13:18Speaker 1: came out about fifteen minutes into practice, is joined in,
- 13:22Speaker 1: is participating in drills. That is a good sign for
- 13:24Speaker 1: a player who in the past few weeks here as
- 13:26Speaker 1: deal with an illness, a hip, now a quad. Usually
- 13:30Speaker 1: Lamar finds a way to play, though, certainly with something.
- 13:32Speaker 1: We're gonna be monitored up until kickoff on Sunday against
- 13:35Speaker 1: the Procos. And I want to jump right in here.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Um So, Andrew, we at the Insiders appreciated your viewing
- 13:43Speaker 1: on YouTube or whatever fast platforms you watched it interestingly enough,
- 13:48Speaker 1: Thank you, interestingly enough. You got to mention and just
- 13:51Speaker 1: remember we kid because we love First of all, we
- 13:56Speaker 1: called that the siciliano where you ask a question and
- 13:59Speaker 1: then just tell all the information that your person might
- 14:02Speaker 1: give eventually and then continue to ask. But anyway, I
- 14:08Speaker 1: only watched the first ten minutes. See I didn't. I didn't.
- 14:11Speaker 1: When When when was that in the show? I Love You?
- 14:13Speaker 1: Is that late in the show? Oh it's yeah, I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: your biggest face I have to send most important that
- 14:20Speaker 1: I turned to YouTube for more insight, hence insider. Yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 1: well that was insight into our world a little bit,
- 14:29Speaker 1: but mostly Andrew that we care about you, um and
- 14:34Speaker 1: that I should have no bearing in our relationship. So
- 14:36Speaker 1: don't send me a mean text. Afficly, I don't send
- 14:38Speaker 1: you a mean text. I actually texted you that said
- 14:40Speaker 1: I liked it. I also texted you to say I
- 14:44Speaker 1: just tuned in to hear Gara Folo get frustrated that
- 14:47Speaker 1: there was a delay because Mike gets frustrated. Sometimes there's
- 14:52Speaker 1: some more insight from the insiders. We give you insight.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I think we have it on the rematch of the
- 14:58Speaker 1: a f C Championship game coming up next, my bag.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I gotta so. The Eagles have the best record of football.
- 15:09Speaker 1: The Eagles put on a display this past Sunday night.
- 15:12Speaker 1: The Eagles ran for three hundred and sixty three yards,
- 15:15Speaker 1: three hundred of which came from that guy, Jalen Hurts
- 15:18Speaker 1: and it's running back number Sanders. The Eagles also know
- 15:22Speaker 1: that they got a pretty good test this week, another
- 15:25Speaker 1: good test against the Titans. They definitely have a mentality
- 15:31Speaker 1: about themselves, you know, they fly to the ball. Um,
- 15:34Speaker 1: they're disruptive at every position, you know, and I know
- 15:38Speaker 1: they're well coached, you know, so you know, we have
- 15:40Speaker 1: to be prepared to play against a really good team,
- 15:43Speaker 1: a physical football team, physical defense, UM, fast defense. You know,
- 15:48Speaker 1: it's it's a really good team about the play. Uh
- 15:51Speaker 1: the Eagles also in those tasty Dales, they're gonna be
- 15:53Speaker 1: there Sunday that they have a really good team as well,
- 15:56Speaker 1: one that once again got a national audience and once
- 15:59Speaker 1: again and people going last Sunday night. Okay, yeah, absolutely,
- 16:04Speaker 1: And it's because of how balance they are, right, they
- 16:06Speaker 1: can do it in every facet of the game. And
- 16:09Speaker 1: they're obviously third in terms of rushing offense, in terms
- 16:13Speaker 1: of passing offense andrew in the NFL, but number one
- 16:15Speaker 1: in the red zone, number one in big place, and
- 16:18Speaker 1: they're gonna beat you everywhere. Their left tackle Jordan my
- 16:20Speaker 1: Latta told me yesterday that this is the most balanced
- 16:23Speaker 1: team offensively he's been a part of in Philly now
- 16:26Speaker 1: for five seasons. And Nick Sirianni said it after their
- 16:28Speaker 1: win right against the Packers, he said, we've shown we
- 16:31Speaker 1: can win throwing the ball. We've shown we can win
- 16:33Speaker 1: running the ball, and that's what you have to do,
- 16:35Speaker 1: especially when you get to the playoffs, if you want
- 16:37Speaker 1: to win big games. They think they can do that.
- 16:39Speaker 1: They're gonna face a really good Titans team obviously, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: their focus is running the ball with Derrick Henry. So
- 16:46Speaker 1: I say, hey, forget long live the King. Well, maybe
- 16:49Speaker 1: long live the king, but how about force feed the king.
- 16:52Speaker 1: That's what they have to get back doing. If you
- 16:54Speaker 1: think about Derrick Henry Andrew in the month of December
- 16:57Speaker 1: or later. In the last five seasons, he leads the
- 17:00Speaker 1: NFL with a hundred and thirty nine rush yards per game,
- 17:04Speaker 1: twenty three care's per game, nineteen rushing TVs. Again, that's
- 17:08Speaker 1: from December and beyond. They are going to feed him,
- 17:11Speaker 1: and Mike Rabowl said it in as much this week.
- 17:14Speaker 1: They've got to get him more involved in the last
- 17:16Speaker 1: three games, averaging just under three yards per carry. I
- 17:19Speaker 1: just got off the phone with tight end Austin Hooper
- 17:21Speaker 1: and he told me, listen, there's no secret we run
- 17:24Speaker 1: the ball. Derrick Henry is the feature guy and they
- 17:27Speaker 1: have got to get him to the second level and
- 17:29Speaker 1: create more opportunities if they want a chance to win
- 17:32Speaker 1: on Sunday, they win by playing bullyball and Derrick Henry's
- 17:35Speaker 1: one big play this past Sunday was actually in the
- 17:37Speaker 1: passing game of play where Trayline park spell on that
- 17:40Speaker 1: football and the Endzo and I got the touchdown. Thank you,
- 17:42Speaker 1: Stacy Dale's. Speaking of the Russian game, the Cowboys defense
- 17:45Speaker 1: did the job that only against Daniel Jones and that
- 17:47Speaker 1: Giants passing game, but they kept se Kwon Barkley in
- 17:49Speaker 1: check this past week, only thirty nine yards from him,
- 17:53Speaker 1: and the Cowboys get another test this week. Hi there
- 17:56Speaker 1: Jane Slater against um Jonathan Taylor, who the Colts seemingly
- 18:01Speaker 1: remembered after the first quarter to give the football to
- 18:04Speaker 1: this past Monday Andrew in the last hour we talked
- 18:08Speaker 1: about penalties. Run defense is what I want to focus
- 18:11Speaker 1: on for this one, because both have been Achilles Hills
- 18:13Speaker 1: for this team. You know, when you look at this
- 18:15Speaker 1: team heading into their matchup against the Vikings and Dalvin Cook,
- 18:18Speaker 1: they had one of the league's worst run defense. They
- 18:20Speaker 1: were ranked twenty night. They've had a slight improvement since then.
- 18:24Speaker 1: If you go back to that Vikings game, they held
- 18:26Speaker 1: him to eleven carries seventy two yards and then you
- 18:29Speaker 1: just reference to their say Kwon Barkley eleven carries for
- 18:32Speaker 1: thirty nine yards. Now they've got Jonathan Taylor. We talked
- 18:35Speaker 1: to Micah Parsons about him. He described him as a
- 18:37Speaker 1: guy that falls forward, he's got extra juice at the end.
- 18:41Speaker 1: He's a smaller Derrick Henry. But this is not a
- 18:43Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor that we saw last season. He's only had
- 18:46Speaker 1: one one yard game. I did ask Micah Parsons, have
- 18:49Speaker 1: they fixed the run defense? He said, we'll see, but
- 18:51Speaker 1: they at least know that teams are going to run
- 18:53Speaker 1: the ball against him. When you consider they have the
- 18:55Speaker 1: number one ranked pass rush in the league. They've got
- 18:58Speaker 1: five players right now are three players right now? Rather
- 19:00Speaker 1: they have five plus sacks as a team forty five.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So expect now Ryan, with some of his struggles this year,
- 19:06Speaker 1: to continue to keep it on the ground. But we'll
- 19:08Speaker 1: see if the Cowboys have finally figured out this run
- 19:10Speaker 1: day because they do have Derrick Henry in the month
- 19:12Speaker 1: of December as well as Jalen Hurts. Okay, so circle
- 19:15Speaker 1: both of those guys in the calendar as you try
- 19:17Speaker 1: to stop the run. As the Cowboys are two games
- 19:19Speaker 1: back of Janaln Hurts and the Eagles right now in
- 19:21Speaker 1: the NFC playoff picture thank you, James Slater. Or they're
- 19:24Speaker 1: live at the Cowboys head of their Sunday night game.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Before that one gets played, we got the Bengals in
- 19:29Speaker 1: the Chiefs in the a f C Championship Game rematch.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But good news, it looks as if Jamaar Chase is
- 19:36Speaker 1: going to be back. He's missed the last four games.
- 19:39Speaker 1: It was a hit injury that happened week six, So
- 19:44Speaker 1: that was the main part in me missing the Titans game,
- 19:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I didn't want to
- 19:47Speaker 1: come back. I didn't know that was too early, too fast,
- 19:49Speaker 1: you know. So I just told that, you know, I
- 19:51Speaker 1: want to worry about long term and we all want
- 19:54Speaker 1: the same page with the staff and in a change
- 19:55Speaker 1: today all on the same page with me. We'll just
- 19:57Speaker 1: make sure the long term wise that I'm handling everything right.
- 20:00Speaker 1: With Jamar Chase saying he might have been able to
- 20:03Speaker 1: come back last week. Hi there, wolf Mark Ross, but
- 20:06Speaker 1: he didn't want to push un told Zach Taylor before
- 20:08Speaker 1: the game that he wasn't ready to go. And I
- 20:10Speaker 1: know you saw him their week seven, but he said
- 20:12Speaker 1: yesterday that was an aggravation week seven of the injury
- 20:15Speaker 1: Week six al right, that aside Jamaar Chase, maybe Joe
- 20:18Speaker 1: Mixing Cam, what's the latest, Yeah, Andrew. Jamar Chase said
- 20:22Speaker 1: he's expecting to take some reps and two hundred and
- 20:25Speaker 1: sixty six is a number that should be on the
- 20:27Speaker 1: chief's mind. That's the rookie record of yards he put
- 20:30Speaker 1: up in week seventeen against the last year. And so
- 20:32Speaker 1: Jamaar Chase talked about, like you mentioned, being cautionary last week,
- 20:36Speaker 1: so he could get back this week, and so they're
- 20:39Speaker 1: expecting to have him back there. Joe Mixing also practiced
- 20:43Speaker 1: yesterday as a limited participant, and he is training towards
- 20:46Speaker 1: exident at concussion protocol and playing Sunday. Both of these
- 20:49Speaker 1: guys will be a huge boost for this Bengals offense.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Burrow has been a top five quarterback in passing yards
- 20:55Speaker 1: and points since Chase has been out, but we all
- 20:58Speaker 1: know what Chase and Mixing can do for this offense.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Of course, these offenses are getting all the headlines rightfully,
- 21:05Speaker 1: so Barrow with Mahomes, this is a super awesome game here.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But let's talk about the defenses. For both of these teams,
- 21:10Speaker 1: which are quite similar when you look at the stats
- 21:12Speaker 1: and points per games and yards giving up, and I
- 21:15Speaker 1: think the game will come down to who can close
- 21:17Speaker 1: the game on defensive play here and play there. And
- 21:19Speaker 1: I just trust and like the Chiefs closers on d
- 21:23Speaker 1: Cincinnati has Trey Hendrickson and Sam Hubbard, good scrappy players.
- 21:27Speaker 1: But the Chiefs who have Frank Clark, who you saw
- 21:31Speaker 1: before his expense suspension what he did that Trent Whims.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Not many guys in league can do that. So you've
- 21:36Speaker 1: got Frank Clark as a closer. But the biggest X
- 21:38Speaker 1: factor is by man Chris Jones, currently the best defensive
- 21:41Speaker 1: tackle in football. Yes that includes you, Aaron Donald, and
- 21:44Speaker 1: Chris Jones can take over games and we've seen him
- 21:47Speaker 1: take over games this season so far ten sacks, eleven
- 21:51Speaker 1: tackles for lost from that inside position, and when he
- 21:54Speaker 1: gets tuned up, this guy can dominate at ends of games.
- 21:57Speaker 1: So I would expect to see healthy, uh playmaking of
- 22:01Speaker 1: Chris Jones at the end of this game. Andrew, it's
- 22:03Speaker 1: you say that because yes, today on the podium, Joe
- 22:06Speaker 1: Burrow said, Chris Jones is the best interior pass Rushman
- 22:09Speaker 1: in the NFL that he caught himself and he said,
- 22:12Speaker 1: you know, maybe other than Aaron Donald, right, So he
- 22:14Speaker 1: caught himself. Was like he heard it and he said,
- 22:17Speaker 1: I I can't forget Aaron Donald, who factored at the
- 22:21Speaker 1: very end of that Super Bowl fifty six, just saying
- 22:24Speaker 1: Mark Ross Campbell, Joe Burrow remembers, certainly. Coming up next,
- 22:27Speaker 1: we're back live in Cleveland. More from Deshaun Watson as
- 22:31Speaker 1: he gets ready from his return or for his return
- 22:34Speaker 1: from an eleven game suspension. August eighteen. That was the
- 22:44Speaker 1: last time anyone heard from DeShawn Watson. He's been back
- 22:47Speaker 1: in the building for a couple of weeks. He is
- 22:49Speaker 1: back on the practice field now as the number one quarterback.
- 22:53Speaker 1: The Browns in Houston to face Watson's old team, the Texans,
- 22:58Speaker 1: on Sunday. We have to see Sunday. Honestly, Uh, I
- 23:04Speaker 1: gotta say, I don't want to. You know, it's it
- 23:06Speaker 1: might take time, it might not take time, you know.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I just you want to go out there and do
- 23:10Speaker 1: what I want to do, make plays as much as
- 23:12Speaker 1: I possibly can. Um, you know, two years is definitely
- 23:16Speaker 1: alone time. But at the same time, you know, I've
- 23:19Speaker 1: been doing this for since I was six years old, so, uh,
- 23:23Speaker 1: you know, just like you know, riding a bike. I
- 23:25Speaker 1: want to go out there and just find the pedals,
- 23:27Speaker 1: get my you know, transition going, and then just let
- 23:31Speaker 1: everything kind of come to me. Don't press it, don't
- 23:32Speaker 1: try to make anything bigger than whatever really is. So
- 23:36Speaker 1: James Palmer was there for that. He's with us now
- 23:39Speaker 1: Live from Cleveland on NFL. Now. That was Deshaun Watson.
- 23:41Speaker 1: James answering the question, like what do we expect from
- 23:44Speaker 1: the football like it's been seven hundred days almost, like
- 23:48Speaker 1: do you know if you're going to be able to
- 23:51Speaker 1: play well? I mean, there are a lot of unanswered
- 23:53Speaker 1: questions for Sunday, there really are. And I asked him
- 23:59Speaker 1: a very similar question, Andrew, you know, how do you
- 24:01Speaker 1: knock the rust off when you get out on the
- 24:03Speaker 1: football field on Sunday? And he didn't really know how
- 24:05Speaker 1: to answer that. He's I'm not entirely sure how rusty
- 24:07Speaker 1: I'm going to be. You heard him say there. He's
- 24:09Speaker 1: not sure if it's going to take a series or
- 24:11Speaker 1: a half or a game or several games to get
- 24:13Speaker 1: back to the type of player we saw him play.
- 24:15Speaker 1: At two years ago. That's an unknown. We don't know
- 24:18Speaker 1: how he's going to work within this offense that has
- 24:20Speaker 1: played very well with Jacoby said as the quarterback through
- 24:23Speaker 1: the first eleven games of the season. I've talked to
- 24:25Speaker 1: Amari Cooper and to Donovan People's Jones about their chemistry
- 24:29Speaker 1: that they're trying to build over these couple of weeks
- 24:31Speaker 1: with Deshaun Watson, and they're not entirely sure how this
- 24:34Speaker 1: is going to go once they actually get on the field.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Kevin Stefanski, the head coach, has said multiple times he's
- 24:39Speaker 1: not sure how this is going to operate or how
- 24:42Speaker 1: smoothly it's going to operate once they get on the
- 24:44Speaker 1: football field. And then the other question we're asked about
- 24:47Speaker 1: is the atmosphere down in Houston. What's going to go
- 24:49Speaker 1: on there. I've talked to a couple of Texans players
- 24:51Speaker 1: this week who told me they're not sure what that
- 24:54Speaker 1: atmosphere is going to be like, they're not sure what
- 24:56Speaker 1: their fan base then, being one nine and one how
- 24:59Speaker 1: interested they will be in Deshaun Watson coming to town.
- 25:02Speaker 1: So it's gonna be very interesting. There's a lot of
- 25:04Speaker 1: unknowns on Sunday, hopefully before the game and during the
- 25:07Speaker 1: game we'll start getting some of those answered. Or I'll
- 25:09Speaker 1: flip that around from the Houston perspective, maybe him coming
- 25:12Speaker 1: to town will prevent people from coming in. Other words,
- 25:15Speaker 1: we want to stay away and don't want to be
- 25:18Speaker 1: in the bill. They have no idea what the atmosphere
- 25:20Speaker 1: is going to be like. And if you're watching at
- 25:22Speaker 1: home saying, well, what did he say about the allegations,
- 25:25Speaker 1: about the suspension, about maybe what he has learned about
- 25:27Speaker 1: himself for how he has worked on himself through these
- 25:30Speaker 1: last eleven weeks, wouldn't go there, wouldn't talk about it,
- 25:33Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson said today football questions only man he didn't
- 25:38Speaker 1: budge from his company line. Thank you, James Palmer. They're
- 25:42Speaker 1: live in Cleveland. We are now live in Foxboro. Ahead
- 25:46Speaker 1: of Thursday night. Football Week thirteen kicks off this evening
- 25:49Speaker 1: with a great one of the a f C East.
- 25:51Speaker 1: We have the Bills at eight and three. We have
- 25:53Speaker 1: high there, Mike Gardi. The Patriots at six and five
- 25:55Speaker 1: right now, out of the playoff picture in the eight
- 25:58Speaker 1: seed and trying on a short week, although they've had
- 26:02Speaker 1: the entire off season to figure it out, trying to
- 26:05Speaker 1: find a way to deal with Josh Hollen Well, and
- 26:09Speaker 1: you remember when the Patriots used to dominate this rivalry
- 26:12Speaker 1: with Bill Belichick as the head coach. Now, all of
- 26:13Speaker 1: a sudden, this whole thing is turned upside down. The
- 26:16Speaker 1: Patriots have lost four of their last five to the Bills,
- 26:18Speaker 1: and a couple of those games here was thirty eight
- 26:21Speaker 1: to nine. Then, of course we remember the postseason beat
- 26:23Speaker 1: down in January where it was the thirty point game.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It is completely flipped. The Bills are the team to
- 26:29Speaker 1: beat in this division. The Patriots note, and they've started
- 26:31Speaker 1: circled this game. They understand there's a lot at stake
- 26:34Speaker 1: for them, never mind the playoffs standings, but also just
- 26:36Speaker 1: wanting to show the Buffalo Bills that this division isn't
- 26:39Speaker 1: just about you anymore. But the Bills, they're saying, hey, guys,
- 26:43Speaker 1: one game at a time, we just want to go
- 26:45Speaker 1: want to know this week, but I want to remind
- 26:46Speaker 1: you about Sean McDermott after the loss last year in December,
- 26:49Speaker 1: the first game that was played in that ridiculous weather
- 26:52Speaker 1: in Buffalo, and someone asked him if there's a psychological
- 26:55Speaker 1: impact of having Bill Belichick on the other side and
- 26:57Speaker 1: he said, let's not go give him Bill Belichick more
- 26:59Speaker 1: credit than Bill Belichick deserves. So there's something here. And
- 27:02Speaker 1: the Bills players, and I've talked to them in the past,
- 27:05Speaker 1: they believe that it gets kicked up a little bit
- 27:07Speaker 1: when they played the New England Patriots for obvious reasons. Yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 1: you would have to think of these two teams will
- 27:12Speaker 1: meet again week eighteen. Maybe the Bills still need to
- 27:15Speaker 1: win for seating. Maybe the Patriots still need to win
- 27:19Speaker 1: to get the final wild card spot or or move
- 27:22Speaker 1: up in the standings. Maybe it's on Sunday night. We'll see.
- 27:25Speaker 1: They've got to get through this one. First. Mike ord
- 27:27Speaker 1: is there on Prime Video. It is thank you, Mike.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Also my cause my cleats that time of the year,
- 27:33Speaker 1: as these are the cleats. Mac Jones will be sporting
- 27:36Speaker 1: as he benefits the Boys and Girls Club. Not to
- 27:40Speaker 1: be out done the other quarterback Josh Allen wearing these
- 27:43Speaker 1: cleats benefiting the Patricia Alan Fund, which is something that
- 27:47Speaker 1: he started back in to benefit the Agociated Children's Hospital
- 27:51Speaker 1: to honor his late grandmother, who dedicated a large portion
- 27:54Speaker 1: of her life to working with children. By the way, Monday,
- 27:58Speaker 1: the fund received its largest donation ever. And if you

- 28:26Speaker 1: Let's move on to one of the Sunday games, and
- 28:28Speaker 1: what a game we have in Santa Clara, where, by
- 28:31Speaker 1: the way, it could be raining. We have two seed
- 28:33Speaker 1: in the a f C, the Miami Dolphins to a
- 28:35Speaker 1: tongue of Bloa red hot as they are taken on
- 28:38Speaker 1: Kyle Shannahan, Jimmy Garoppolo and the three seed in the NFC.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It has been a breakout season by every metric campwell,
- 28:47Speaker 1: Mark Ross for two, A tongue of byloa, whether it's
- 28:50Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel, whether it's the speed they added on offense,
- 28:52Speaker 1: whether it's I don't know him finally feeling comfortable Cam
- 28:57Speaker 1: this is another big test for him. Yeah, Andrew, what
- 29:00Speaker 1: a story too has been this year? You mentioned what
- 29:03Speaker 1: the cause of it has been. It's really starts with
- 29:05Speaker 1: support leading to confidence. Mike McDaniel all in on tour
- 29:10Speaker 1: from the Jump, told him how good he was and
- 29:12Speaker 1: convinced Tah that he could be even better, and we're
- 29:15Speaker 1: seeing that throughout the season. His receivers tyreek Kill and
- 29:18Speaker 1: Jalen Wattle have allowed him to trust throwing to spots
- 29:21Speaker 1: in this offense, would anticipation and accuracy in the way
- 29:25Speaker 1: he's done throughout the year, and his comfort and confidence
- 29:28Speaker 1: overall has led to him being able to play this ball,
- 29:31Speaker 1: no external distractions, no worrying about are we training for
- 29:34Speaker 1: Deshaun or do the coaches believe in me? He is
- 29:37Speaker 1: showing the true potential and you've seen defenses play them differently.
- 29:41Speaker 1: He is crushed man covers this year, crushed it and
- 29:44Speaker 1: so teams have played deeper and deeper and deeper, and
- 29:47Speaker 1: even the team they played this week, forty Niners coach
- 29:49Speaker 1: Kyle Shanahan said, I didn't really believe it when I
- 29:52Speaker 1: first saw it. I was wondering about Toah, but I
- 29:55Speaker 1: turned on the tape from the first preseason game and said, Wow,
- 29:58Speaker 1: this guy looks different, this guy looks comfortable. And they
- 30:01Speaker 1: played the forty Niners this week, the number one defense
- 30:04Speaker 1: quite a test. But we've seen the Dolphins and to
- 30:06Speaker 1: go through adversity before and I don't count them out
- 30:10Speaker 1: doing it again on Sunday. And you talk about comfortable
- 30:13Speaker 1: Cam and they've also two has also been comfortable because
- 30:16Speaker 1: they played for the worst defenses in these last four
- 30:18Speaker 1: games where they scored over thirty points in the Lions, Bears, Browns,
- 30:22Speaker 1: and Texans who have not been able to get him
- 30:25Speaker 1: out of his comfort zone on the field. And that's
- 30:28Speaker 1: the best version of two where you see that offense
- 30:30Speaker 1: so flowing so easily in such rhythm, the Alabama version
- 30:34Speaker 1: of two, where he's in rhythm and these defenses have
- 30:37Speaker 1: not been able to get him out of that rhythm.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I think the forty Niners will be able to particularly
- 30:41Speaker 1: inside with big Eric Armstead, pressure in the face, and
- 30:44Speaker 1: of course Boas is always there. Those are the two
- 30:47Speaker 1: areas where to it does struggle with people in his
- 30:48Speaker 1: face and then when he has to get out of
- 30:50Speaker 1: his rhythm. So really look for that in his game
- 30:52Speaker 1: against the Niners. And again the weather may factor here.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I know it's only Thursday. I'm not a weather van
- 30:59Speaker 1: traffic and weather on the fours here, however, are the
- 31:03Speaker 1: Tens actually chance of rain? Just saying pack accordingly, Thank
- 31:09Speaker 1: you Cam and thank you Mark Ross. What if I
- 31:11Speaker 1: told you that for the eighth time this season. I'm
- 31:14Speaker 1: not suggesting the Jets are cheating or anything or stuffing
- 31:17Speaker 1: the ballot box online. I'm not saying that they have
- 31:19Speaker 1: a good rookie class. But for the eighth time this season,
- 31:22Speaker 1: a Jet has won the Pepsi zero Sugar Rookie of
- 31:26Speaker 1: the Week. Garrett Wilson deserved it five ninety five and
- 31:29Speaker 1: a couple of scores, a couple of while plays. Garrett Wilson,
- 31:32Speaker 1: congratulations young man. The Pepsi zero Sugar Rookie of the Week.
