- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to Wisecrackice, Bill Krackenberger, John Orlando.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Different different temperatures where we are today.
- 0:07Speaker 1: When I left Vegas, it was starting to get really cold,
- 0:10Speaker 1: like a high have like fifty.
- 0:12Speaker 2: And John, you look like you're up in Canada somewhere.
- 0:17Speaker 3: I mean, I might as well be in Canada. I'm
- 0:19Speaker 3: watching Canada hockey right now.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's fun watching some of the Olympics, isn't it watching
- 0:25Speaker 1: some of the Yeah, it's just fun to be an
- 0:28Speaker 1: American rooperm some uh, some of our athletes there. And
- 0:32Speaker 1: and I was upset when the kids fell. I actually
- 0:35Speaker 1: watched them live. Everyone built it up. This kid on
- 0:38Speaker 1: this this this skater when he the quad guy, and
- 0:41Speaker 1: he fell a couple of times and didn't even meddle,
- 0:44Speaker 1: and he was like a favorite.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So yeah, But so John, let me tell you a
- 0:50Speaker 2: couple of things. So I'm down here.
- 0:53Speaker 1: In Florida and I am at the hard Rock and
- 0:58Speaker 1: I was had an NonStop flight.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It was Jet Blue, which I liked.
- 1:04Speaker 1: They have these They have a great level of service
- 1:06Speaker 1: called Mints m i NT, which is their first class,
- 1:12Speaker 1: And once in a while you can catch really good prices.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I mean you could catch like six hundred bucks one way,
- 1:21Speaker 1: which you know five seventh it was five fifty five,
- 1:25Speaker 1: five point fifty five and five seventy five. That was
- 1:28Speaker 1: each way that I found. And if you get the
- 1:31Speaker 1: way ahead of time or rest, it could be triple
- 1:34Speaker 1: at so NonStop. They had a flight and MINT is
- 1:38Speaker 1: to get your own pod. It's actually a pod.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Lay down seat wait on Jet Blue.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable that it's called Mint service. It's
- 1:47Speaker 1: not on every plane, but it is on every plane,
- 1:50Speaker 1: I believe, from from Las Vegas to JFK and Las
- 1:55Speaker 1: Vegas to.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Florida.
- 2:00Speaker 4: It's a true it's a true first class.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's better than first class. You get wow, Like I
- 2:06Speaker 2: should have took a video.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I have a video on my phone in the past
- 2:09Speaker 1: of it's literally a pod.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Maybe I'll send it to JH. You can. You can
- 2:14Speaker 2: put it right in on the video. Last time I
- 2:16Speaker 2: flew the pod.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And if you get the single ones you can get
- 2:20Speaker 1: there's two, which is fine. That's why I had one
- 2:24Speaker 1: of the two, one of the there's there's two in
- 2:26Speaker 1: each row, but then it goes two one to one.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So if you can get one of the ones by yourself.
- 2:33Speaker 1: They closed the pod off. You get a whole row
- 2:36Speaker 1: basically the size of three seats. It's your own pod,
- 2:39Speaker 1: lay down flat seating, and you get so many different
- 2:42Speaker 1: amenities with it. It's just a it's a special class.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And like I said, I won't go for the ridiculous
- 2:50Speaker 1: amount of money I noticed it was. Some of the
- 2:53Speaker 1: fights were like eighteen hundred dollars one way.
- 2:55Speaker 4: But if you catch them ahead of time, and that's
- 2:58Speaker 4: La to Lost, right, I'm sorry Vegas, Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 2: But I did. I did fly LAX to JFK also
- 3:07Speaker 2: in the past.
- 3:09Speaker 4: But you flew out of LA or you flew Vegas.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I flew I flew out of Vegas. But here here's
- 3:14Speaker 1: the problem with this flight though. So a couple of
- 3:18Speaker 1: nights ago, when the weather was pretty bad, I thought
- 3:22Speaker 1: that they might get delayed, and I, uh, we had
- 3:25Speaker 1: an eleven thirty PM flight, which I don't like these
- 3:28Speaker 1: overnight flights, but that's the only non stops they have
- 3:31Speaker 1: to Florida. So you get in seven in the morning,
- 3:33Speaker 1: which is fine, but in this type of service anyway,
- 3:38Speaker 1: So I got there nine thirty, which I'm nuts. I
- 3:41Speaker 1: always get everywhere two hours ahead of time, and and
- 3:45Speaker 1: I thought the play might be the late. It was
- 3:46Speaker 1: delayed a little bit, so about twelve fifteen.
- 3:49Speaker 2: No problem. We get on the plane and they made
- 3:53Speaker 2: us the board. Oh you want to do that?
- 3:56Speaker 3: Oh terrible, terrible, Oh God. And this is Vegas to
- 4:01Speaker 3: Fort Lauderdale.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Vegas to Fort Lauderdale NonStop, only a four hour flight.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And they made us deboard because of a situation when
- 4:11Speaker 1: one of the stewardesses she wasn't feeling well. They were
- 4:15Speaker 1: trying to get another stewardess and she was supposed to
- 4:17Speaker 1: come in. They knew she wasn't feeling well.
- 4:19Speaker 2: She didn't. She didn't even make it on the plane.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But this backup person they had could not get out,
- 4:25Speaker 1: could could not. This is what they said. Anyway, you know,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm a street smart guy. I have some feelings that
- 4:31Speaker 1: something else was going on here. They don't you're buying it.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They don't tell you everything. I mean, because it was
- 4:35Speaker 1: because of one stewardess, so they had two instead of three.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Right, maybe there is a FAA law, flying laws that
- 4:42Speaker 2: they can't.
- 4:43Speaker 1: You have to have more than whatever it may be.
- 4:46Speaker 1: But we waited and waited and waited. They debordered us
- 4:49Speaker 1: and said we're not leaving until eight am now, and
- 4:51Speaker 1: it's like, oh my god. And I said, we're gonna
- 4:53Speaker 1: get the same seats. Everything's fine, We're gonna get the
- 4:56Speaker 1: same plane. Oh yeah, I don't worry, just go down.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I thought it was kind of funny. And they say, go.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Pick up your luggage. Though what happened was they totally lied.
- 5:05Speaker 1: They lied, They made people go downstairs get your luggage,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and then they rebooked me on a flight two days later.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And I was like, wait a minute, wait a minute,
- 5:14Speaker 1: what are you talking about.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I got this.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So I went down to the desk waiting online with
- 5:18Speaker 1: hundreds of people and got to the front and they said, well,
- 5:23Speaker 1: there's a city. I said, listen, here's a six forty AM.
- 5:27Speaker 1: It's now one forty am. Here's a six forty It
- 5:31Speaker 1: goes through New Jersey JFK. It goes to JFK and
- 5:36Speaker 1: then goes down to Florida. And they put me on that.
- 5:40Speaker 1: So I got so literally I went from love Las
- 5:45Speaker 1: Vegas to JFK waiting a couple hours, went down to Florida.
- 5:49Speaker 4: But I'm still in a good seat, still in the pod.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Well in the pod on the way to JFK, but
- 5:55Speaker 1: they don't have the pods from JFK to Florida, at
- 6:00Speaker 1: least the three flights that I seen.
- 6:02Speaker 2: So I went. I arrived in JFK and there was
- 6:07Speaker 2: two flights.
- 6:07Speaker 1: The flight I was on, and then there was a
- 6:10Speaker 1: flight like leaving in forty five minutes, and I said,
- 6:14Speaker 1: both both had seats. But I said, why don't you
- 6:17Speaker 1: guys put me on that flight? And you know they
- 6:20Speaker 1: they charged me seventy five dollars, which I was kind
- 6:23Speaker 1: of pissed, like it's their fault. Why can't you just
- 6:25Speaker 1: put me on this plane? I paid it. I just said,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you know what, I'm just paying it. You know, I'll
- 6:29Speaker 1: deal with it later. If to be honest with you,
- 6:32Speaker 1: I'm probably an idiot. I probably won't deal with it.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Like you know, I just I paid it just to
- 6:36Speaker 1: get just to get down there. But then I forgot
- 6:39Speaker 1: my luggage is on the other plane.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I totally forgot.
- 6:42Speaker 1: God, So I said, let me save some time, go
- 6:47Speaker 1: get the rental car, go back to the airport and park.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So I go on level I go on It's three
- 6:53Speaker 1: where it comes in and terminal three. Well, don't worry
- 6:57Speaker 1: this plane came in at terminal four. Now I had
- 7:00Speaker 1: walk I looked at my steps for the day. I
- 7:03Speaker 1: was like, how many steps did I take?
- 7:05Speaker 2: It? It was like it was like.
- 7:06Speaker 1: A heir here twelve thousand and fives. I say, wow,
- 7:12Speaker 1: almost thirteen thousand steps that day, which is about double.
- 7:15Speaker 2: But here's through about six thousand, seven thousand, which is
- 7:18Speaker 2: a lot. Still I walk along.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it was. So.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I got here about thirteen fourteen hours later then I
- 7:28Speaker 1: was supposed to, but I had to come down though.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I had tickets, I had a cash.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I had to meet some people, and I'm the one.
- 7:34Speaker 1: A quick turnaround there, I'll be I'll be back in
- 7:36Speaker 1: Vegas tomorrow, but by the time the podcast comes out,
- 7:39Speaker 1: I'll be home.
- 7:40Speaker 2: So, but I I'd like to come down here more.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I like it. I like it down here. I just
- 7:45Speaker 2: do the weather. First of all, it's eighty eighty five degrees.
- 7:49Speaker 2: The weather's perfect. Maybe you guys can see, if you
- 7:52Speaker 2: guys can see.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Behind me, look at that, that's going to be Las
- 7:55Speaker 1: Vegas there. Eventually, I don't know, can I will that
- 7:58Speaker 1: show up?
- 7:59Speaker 2: It didn't show up?
- 7:59Speaker 4: No, Oh, there you go.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's going to be the same exact tower they're
- 8:08Speaker 1: building in Las Vegas on the strip. I can't believe
- 8:12Speaker 1: how that thing's up already in in uh in like
- 8:15Speaker 1: in Vegas.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I know, I know, I saw yesterday.
- 8:19Speaker 1: The blue sheeting going on, and already it's it's almost done.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It's done as far as the tower is. So that
- 8:26Speaker 2: that was to see that. Anyway I got.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I finally got down here, and that's the main thing
- 8:34Speaker 1: I guess it is getting down here.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Guys.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I want you to make sure you like and subscribe
- 8:40Speaker 1: if that's what you like to you know, if you
- 8:41Speaker 1: like the show, like and subscribe and comments. I got
- 8:45Speaker 1: back to that's something I killed, uh killed a couple
- 8:47Speaker 1: of hours in the airport, going through some of the
- 8:50Speaker 1: shows and getting back to people, uh, thanking them for
- 8:55Speaker 1: doing what they do.
- 8:56Speaker 2: You know, they take the time to comment. I think I.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Should take the time to to respond to them.
- 9:03Speaker 2: And it's funny.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I like when you when someone gets mad at something,
- 9:05Speaker 1: the way you respond I seen you responded there. You
- 9:08Speaker 1: just said lol or something. That's that's the way you're
- 9:10Speaker 1: supposed to do it. You know, it really is. But anyway, yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I seen that, and and we have some really nice
- 9:17Speaker 1: people that watch the shows, and I do appreciate it.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, though, John, I feel I feel
- 9:24Speaker 1: a sense of gratitude that I usually do Visa on Thursdays.
- 9:28Speaker 1: This week I'm not going to be doing because I'm
- 9:29Speaker 1: going to be traveling and back to Vegas. I was like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: oh God, I have off a couple of weeks, which
- 9:34Speaker 1: is sometimes you do too many shows.
- 9:37Speaker 2: It gets too much. How many how much content can
- 9:39Speaker 2: you come up? Throwing football?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm doing thirteen spots a week, where now it's
- 9:44Speaker 1: going to cut down to about half of that. So, John,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I seen this article. This was really cool the Las Vegas.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It's the time capsules, which I always I'm a old
- 9:58Speaker 1: school guy. I love old Las Vegas the way it
- 10:01Speaker 1: was back then compared to the corporate world now. These
- 10:04Speaker 1: time capsules which j Shall put a little link up,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and this was like like when the sands when they
- 10:13Speaker 1: bury these things, Like when the sands, you could see
- 10:15Speaker 1: it started so high and they bury them in the ground.
- 10:19Speaker 1: It's just seven capsules, seven time castles are buried by
- 10:22Speaker 1: Las Vegas trip casino over owners over the decade, over
- 10:26Speaker 1: the decades. The sad thing is in all likelihood none
- 10:30Speaker 1: will be unearthed. Uh And and the reason why they're
- 10:34Speaker 1: not unearthed is because, to be real blunt, the new
- 10:40Speaker 1: owners just they have a disregard for its own history.
- 10:45Speaker 1: None of it's likely to be dug up and opened
- 10:47Speaker 1: by future generations that was intended for. It's because Las
- 10:50Speaker 1: Vegas Land routinely passes from casino owner to casino owner
- 10:54Speaker 1: who bury the time, captures, captures, and there's zero interest
- 10:58Speaker 1: in preserving their predecessors legacies in a loan spending the money.
- 11:02Speaker 2: To unearth them.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I don't know, isn't that the purpose of doing it?
- 11:07Speaker 1: Like this, Yeah, it was like a rocket and they
- 11:10Speaker 1: had a big, big thing of that. They literally allow
- 11:13Speaker 1: gravity to bury it as deep as they could in
- 11:15Speaker 1: this hole. And like this one's from nineteen fifty three.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It's somewhere at the where the where this was, where
- 11:24Speaker 1: the sands was. So this is where Las Vegas Sands
- 11:27Speaker 1: now company is. They say it's towards the back of
- 11:30Speaker 1: the Convention Center of where the Venetian the Palazzo is
- 11:34Speaker 1: like back there, but it's the twelve foot rocket that's
- 11:39Speaker 1: underneath the ground. Then it was preserved in a certain way.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Things wouldn't spoil or go rotten, so like in this
- 11:46Speaker 1: particular one, a wax impression of singer Jimmy Duranty's nose.
- 11:50Speaker 1: That the the schnas. That's for anyone that a lot
- 11:53Speaker 1: of young people probably don't realize. Jimmy Duranty, Now, didn't
- 11:56Speaker 1: he play Frosty the Snowman?
- 11:58Speaker 2: I believe he was Frosty, and I think so. I
- 12:01Speaker 2: think that was him singing.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Also Wizard of Oz star Ray Bolgers dancing shoes, bing
- 12:08Speaker 1: Crosby's pipe, Maurice Chevalier, straw hat, sugar, Ray Robinson's boxing gloves.
- 12:16Speaker 1: How about this the first interview, one of the first
- 12:19Speaker 1: interviews Frank Sinatra did with Luella Parsons, straw hats, war By,
- 12:24Speaker 1: Dean Martin and Jerry Jerry lewis carefully preserved and vacuum sealed.
- 12:29Speaker 2: They have vacuum seals in the fifties.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Well, anyway, I just thought it was so cooled all
- 12:33Speaker 1: these little these things are worked. I mean, there weren't
- 12:36Speaker 1: so much money, but not the money there worn's just
- 12:39Speaker 1: to see these.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Things nostalgia, history and time. You know who's in a
- 12:44Speaker 4: few of those. Your dad should be one hundred percent.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I feel like he's in one.
- 12:48Speaker 3: I might have this wrong, but if I remember I
- 12:51Speaker 3: was little, I want to say Resorts World in Atlantic
- 12:54Speaker 3: City or Resorts sorry, just resorts in Atlantic City.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I think he's in one there. I think he's in.
- 12:59Speaker 3: A either Trump taj Mahal or one of one of
- 13:02Speaker 3: the Trump properties. And then one here in Vegas, and
- 13:06Speaker 3: I can't remember which one.
- 13:08Speaker 4: I kind of kind of want to say.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Uh, your dad, I see, not sure at the resorts.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I seen his hand prints right right in.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Atlantic City, that scene.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And but but yeah, they bury these time capsules and
- 13:25Speaker 1: they usually say we'll open them one hundred years later.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Well even here we go talking forty to fifty years later,
- 13:31Speaker 1: sixty years later. They want nothing to do with this,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and I just and there's capsules they and the locations
- 13:37Speaker 1: are here underneath the star dust, underneath the desert, in
- 13:41Speaker 1: underneath the sands. I mean, there's all these different time capsules,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and it just seems like nobody cares. So I just
- 13:48Speaker 1: thought that, Yeah, wow, wow, I love you know me,
- 13:52Speaker 1: I love Las Vegas history. Yeah, I thought that was
- 13:55Speaker 1: pretty cool. Speaking of history, there's a whole article here
- 14:00Speaker 1: of the Las Vegas lounge act. Now, I love the
- 14:04Speaker 1: lounge jack stuff, you know, the Louis Primas, the different lounges.
- 14:08Speaker 2: He was known for that.
- 14:09Speaker 1: He was probably the number one lounge act. But when
- 14:12Speaker 1: we interviewed your dad for the first time in the studio,
- 14:14Speaker 1: he talked about he was in the lounge at the
- 14:17Speaker 1: Hilton and Elvis was on the big stage and that
- 14:20Speaker 1: lounge office the lounge is still there, and you know
- 14:24Speaker 1: that that was the golden era. The fifties and sixties
- 14:28Speaker 1: even seventies main showrooms for the stars, but the lounges
- 14:31Speaker 1: were the soul of the strip. And of course then
- 14:33Speaker 1: your dad went on to be a headliner like Barry
- 14:36Speaker 1: Manilow and Elvis and all the other ones. So like
- 14:40Speaker 1: the headliners like Sinati and Liberacchi, Sinatra, the rug performs
- 14:44Speaker 1: in the big rooms. The Copa room with the Sands.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Had other lounge acts like Louis Prima, which I absolutely loved,
- 14:51Speaker 1: like Louis Prima, Oh my god, I wound up love
- 14:54Speaker 1: didn't of course, Louis Prima, a Chilly Smith, Sempu Terra.
- 14:58Speaker 1: These were acts that were back in the sixties and
- 15:00Speaker 1: seventies or even the fifties. The fifties was really when
- 15:05Speaker 1: they started. But my friend, my friend that passed away
- 15:08Speaker 1: on me. Yeah, I felt so bad for Cookie jar
- 15:12Speaker 1: and his wife. I put them in the Showtime. I
- 15:14Speaker 1: put them in the Showtime show with me on action
- 15:17Speaker 1: and Cookie was my buddy. He was the last, the
- 15:19Speaker 1: real last of the Las Vegas lounge acts.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But there was so.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Many different places in these rooms when you see like
- 15:29Speaker 1: the Sands, Sammy Davis Junior and Buddy Greco, but then
- 15:32Speaker 1: Louis Prima in the in the other.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Room which was the lounge.
- 15:36Speaker 1: But the lounge was was really used as a loss leader.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I was reading that, and I guess I understand it
- 15:43Speaker 1: a little bit, but it's part of me that doesn't.
- 15:46Speaker 1: For decades, lounges were lost leaders. Casinos shifted from private
- 15:50Speaker 1: mob ownership to public corporations in the late eighties. Every
- 15:54Speaker 1: square the foot had to be every square foot of
- 15:56Speaker 1: the casino how to be profitable. After most of the
- 15:58Speaker 1: original loungers went down to the demolitions and claims the
- 16:02Speaker 1: host casinos, no new ones were built, just rows of
- 16:05Speaker 1: slot machines. And you know the problem a little bit
- 16:09Speaker 1: says the stay problem. Ironically, loungejacks were too good. People
- 16:12Speaker 1: would nurse their drinks for hours and watch the acts.
- 16:15Speaker 1: What's kept them from gambling. So now you can turn
- 16:19Speaker 1: into the late eighties and nineties, casinos realized that they
- 16:22Speaker 1: could make more money charging fifty dollars ahead with DJs
- 16:26Speaker 1: and clubs today as.
- 16:27Speaker 2: We see it now, Yeah, it's you know, I'm kind
- 16:30Speaker 2: of sad. Sad.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I remember being in Vegas, like when my dad would work,
- 16:37Speaker 3: like the Desert Inn and some of those places back
- 16:40Speaker 3: in the eighties, even and he would always supposed to
- 16:43Speaker 3: be an hour long show, right or no more than
- 16:46Speaker 3: an hour and ten minutes, but he routinely would do
- 16:50Speaker 3: hour and twenty hour and thirty once in a blue moon,
- 16:53Speaker 3: two hours, just because he's just feeling it, you know,
- 16:56Speaker 3: on a Saturday night late show.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Just keep them late.
- 16:59Speaker 3: And I remember they would come back and they would
- 17:02Speaker 3: they would basically not beg him, but they'd be like, Tony, please,
- 17:07Speaker 3: like keep it to an hour. And they I think
- 17:09Speaker 3: the number was something like it's you cost us fifty
- 17:12Speaker 3: I want to say, they said, you cost us fifty
- 17:15Speaker 3: thousand dollars.
- 17:16Speaker 4: For every minute you go over. Okay, and that's probably
- 17:20Speaker 4: a gross exaggeration.
- 17:22Speaker 3: But Yeah, but that's just how they look at it, like, look,
- 17:25Speaker 3: it's almost like recess when you're at school, right, It's like, look,
- 17:28Speaker 3: you can have them, they can take an hour break
- 17:31Speaker 3: from gambling, but then after that get them back on
- 17:33Speaker 3: the floor, Like, don't go over. You don't have to
- 17:35Speaker 3: give them their money's worth, Like we need our money's worth.
- 17:40Speaker 1: John, let's go over to Atlantic City again. It seems
- 17:43Speaker 1: like the focus of our show sometimes. AC numbers crazy again.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They started right out in January brick and mortar two
- 17:51Speaker 1: hundred and thirteen million in person revenue, even an increase
- 17:55Speaker 1: over the previous year that held records.
- 17:58Speaker 2: The I gaming again, this is just amazing.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Well, let's first of all, Lets first of let me
- 18:05Speaker 1: just talk about the slot machines. Brick and mortar slot
- 18:07Speaker 1: machines one hundred and fifty one million from players three
- 18:10Speaker 1: and a half percent game year over year, table games
- 18:13Speaker 1: sixty two point nine percent. So now let's go over
- 18:17Speaker 1: to the I gaming side, which is that means you're
- 18:22Speaker 1: at home gambling, you know, underneath the covers when everyone's
- 18:26Speaker 1: sleeping and you're firing on on your your phone. I
- 18:30Speaker 1: gaming again, two hundred and fifty eight million, seventeen percent
- 18:35Speaker 1: from the previous year, which also destroyed forecasted numbers.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Here, just think about this, two hundred.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And fifty eight point nine let's call it two hundred
- 18:45Speaker 1: and fifty nine million with no overhead. The brick and mowers,
- 18:49Speaker 1: the brick and mortar casinos, like I just told you,
- 18:52Speaker 1: made two hundred and thirteen million. They made more from
- 18:55Speaker 1: the slot machines at home than they made from the.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Brick and orders with all the overheads.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Seventeen percent raise, this is, this is unbelievable. Ready for
- 19:06Speaker 1: this one sports betting win, the one hundred and twelve
- 19:11Speaker 1: million sports betting win. That's not the big that's a
- 19:13Speaker 1: giant number for Jersey. But let me just tell you
- 19:16Speaker 1: the brick and mortars only made one point nine million.
- 19:19Speaker 1: So just think about Wow, all the retail operations have
- 19:23Speaker 1: closed in Atlantic City.
- 19:25Speaker 2: They don't ever they want everyone on the apps.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Why spend millions on a sports book with chairs and
- 19:30Speaker 1: you know, big screens. You know, Bally's put in like
- 19:34Speaker 1: six million in screen, five point six million.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I remember reading just.
- 19:38Speaker 1: On their screens at Bally's, which was the Wild West,
- 19:43Speaker 1: which I don't even know if it's the Wild.
- 19:44Speaker 2: West anymore, but I think it is.
- 19:45Speaker 1: But of course, why even you know, have anyone there.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I just told you the numbers for January, one hundred
- 19:53Speaker 1: and fourteen million they made on the apps and only
- 19:57Speaker 1: one hundred and twelve million on the ass only made
- 19:59Speaker 1: one point nine million, and that was generated inside a
- 20:02Speaker 1: physical sports book with the overhead of having employees and
- 20:07Speaker 1: paying all different It's unbelievable the numbers that come out
- 20:11Speaker 1: of Atlantic City all the time. I see these numbers,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and you know, you just there's there's sports betting now
- 20:18Speaker 1: in so many different states. You have eye gaming in
- 20:21Speaker 1: like eight states. I just can't believe New Jersey continues
- 20:25Speaker 1: to destroy the numbers.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Let's just be blunts, you know. I'm always blunt on
- 20:30Speaker 2: this show.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Destroy the people that they have just restroyed, destroyed the
- 20:34Speaker 1: people year after year after year, and ever since it
- 20:38Speaker 1: was repealed PASPA in twenty eighteen. I'm shocked by these numbers.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I thought Atlantic City was going by the wayside. It's
- 20:46Speaker 1: you know, you guys know what I think already. I
- 20:47Speaker 1: don't want to get so negative and trying to be
- 20:49Speaker 1: more positive. It's just hard to be positive when you
- 20:52Speaker 1: walk down to the Pacific Avenue and then even take
- 20:55Speaker 1: your chances of walking on Atlantic Avenue under the cover
- 20:58Speaker 1: of darkness. I wouldn't recommend doing even even the board
- 21:01Speaker 1: book is a little bit rough, but it's definitely better
- 21:05Speaker 1: than the other going on the other side. So, uh,
- 21:09Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about our sponsor here, and this is
- 21:13Speaker 1: an interesting one. It's a it's a five hundred dollars,
- 21:17Speaker 1: five hundred dollars Saint John's future to win sixty two thousand,
- 21:21Speaker 1: five hundred dollars. Original odds of one hundred and twenty
- 21:24Speaker 1: five to one, Now it's they're fifty to one. So
- 21:27Speaker 1: the cash out of twelve hundred and thirty five dollars,
- 21:29Speaker 1: I don't know. Do you bet five hundred dollars to
- 21:31Speaker 1: win twelve thirty five? I'm first of all, before I
- 21:33Speaker 1: talk about it a little bit more, I'm gonna tell
- 21:35Speaker 1: you no, I am not buying out. I'm gonna wait
- 21:38Speaker 1: until till they go a little bit further. The Johnny's
- 21:41Speaker 1: are currently playing their the best ball this season. They
- 21:43Speaker 1: had eleven game winning streak, one of two teams to
- 21:46Speaker 1: beat Yukon. They get to play Big East Tournament on
- 21:50Speaker 1: their home floor. MSG all that said, the market's little
- 21:53Speaker 1: that it seemed to be buying Saint John's as a
- 21:55Speaker 1: legitimate shot. So I'm not looking just to double my
- 21:59Speaker 1: two and a half times my money. You know, it's
- 22:02Speaker 1: given very highly unlikely Saint John's actually wins this title,
- 22:06Speaker 1: but it does become questionable when to sell if they
- 22:10Speaker 1: continue this streak. So over at wagerwire dot com wager
- 22:13Speaker 1: wire app twelve thirty five bed value right now, seven
- 22:17Speaker 1: thirty five dollars profit. Myself, I would not sell this
- 22:21Speaker 1: one right now, but that is on the wager wire marketplace.
- 22:24Speaker 3: It's like you said, if you're betting five hundred, you're
- 22:27Speaker 3: you're a swing for the fences kind of better obviously
- 22:30Speaker 3: on something like this.
- 22:31Speaker 4: So you got to let this marinate for a minute.
- 22:35Speaker 2: That's what I would say. That's what I would say, Oh, John, let's.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Go back to you know, I'm all over the place, okay.
- 22:41Speaker 2: To show.
- 22:41Speaker 1: That's what makes the show good though it's very unscripted. Uh,
- 22:44Speaker 1: traveling on the planes, traveling through the airports, traveling. You know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't travel like I used to. Used to be
- 22:50Speaker 1: away three four much of the year. I go away
- 22:51Speaker 1: a couple times a year now, John I see the difference,
- 22:56Speaker 1: or I'm just getting older. It could be one of
- 22:58Speaker 1: the two, because I see the difference in the population
- 23:03Speaker 1: now compared to a couple of years ago, and of
- 23:05Speaker 1: course compared to a decade ago or a couple of
- 23:07Speaker 1: decades ago. I just see the self centered public. That is,
- 23:14Speaker 1: it's got to be because they're raised on social media
- 23:18Speaker 1: and they're raised with no discipline. You can't discipline your
- 23:21Speaker 1: kids today. If you do, you might be in trouble.
- 23:24Speaker 1: They may say something at school and next thing you know,
- 23:27Speaker 1: you have people investigating you. I don't know, like kids
- 23:30Speaker 1: aren't even open to constructive criticism today. So yeah, I
- 23:35Speaker 1: just see things again. On planes, I see people running
- 23:39Speaker 1: past me on the aisle. I'm in row six and
- 23:41Speaker 1: a row four, and they just running out of the
- 23:44Speaker 1: plane ahead of you. For some reason. I guess they
- 23:45Speaker 1: think they're special. I just see kids the way they
- 23:49Speaker 1: act in airports.
- 23:50Speaker 2: People now.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Granted, I'll always when I do see someone hold a
- 23:53Speaker 1: door or hold an elevator door, I'll make I'll go
- 23:56Speaker 1: on my way to say something. I will I'll say, wow,
- 23:59Speaker 1: you were raised so properly. I'll actually tell them that
- 24:02Speaker 1: you know good, you have good. Yeah, you know, I
- 24:06Speaker 1: just see so many different things and I have to
- 24:09Speaker 1: I have to blame social media.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I have to blame things that are going on. Do
- 24:14Speaker 2: you agree it all or Vegas?
- 24:16Speaker 1: I think places like Vegas, Miami, New York, LA. I
- 24:20Speaker 1: just see people living at a different pace, maybe than
- 24:23Speaker 1: than Middle of America or even like when my dad
- 24:26Speaker 1: grew up in Ohio and Math and.
- 24:29Speaker 4: They're at a different page. Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I mean, just parenting today compared to when we grew up.
- 24:33Speaker 3: It's clearly different, right, I mean, it's like we've talked
- 24:37Speaker 3: about this before. I mean I remember being in a
- 24:39Speaker 3: movie theater as a twelve year old, thirteen year old
- 24:42Speaker 3: with my friends on a Saturday, and we're talking before
- 24:46Speaker 3: the movie even starts, you know, during the previews, and
- 24:49Speaker 3: if an adult turned around and said hey, be quiet
- 24:54Speaker 3: or whatever, we felt like we were in trouble and
- 24:57Speaker 3: we'd say sorry, we'd apologize, and we'd be quiet.
- 25:01Speaker 4: If you did that, today, these kids will throw a
- 25:03Speaker 4: drink at you. I mean, it's just different.
- 25:05Speaker 2: That's it. That's exactly it, John, That's exactly it.
- 25:09Speaker 1: They look to start fights with you. Yeah, it's just
- 25:11Speaker 1: so different. It's just so different today so I like
- 25:16Speaker 1: when I see these companies crying a little bit. This
- 25:19Speaker 1: this is a company, actually it's multiple companies. There's a
- 25:23Speaker 1: surgeon identity theft linked to online betting, bonus abuse, identity
- 25:27Speaker 1: theft fuel surgeon online betting bonuses, and I kind of
- 25:32Speaker 1: laugh at this, but I know it's a serious thing.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm not saying if you're using these particular guys that
- 25:38Speaker 1: were arrested, these fraudsters that were arrested in Connecticut. Two
- 25:42Speaker 1: Connecticut men were charged with fraud, identity theft, and money
- 25:46Speaker 1: laundering offenses in a connection with an alleged three million
- 25:48Speaker 1: dollars scheme targeting online gambling operators. Prosecutors say they use
- 25:52Speaker 1: personal information wow of three thousand victims to open fraudulent
- 25:57Speaker 1: gambling counts.
- 25:58Speaker 2: That's a lot. I don't know how they do.
- 26:00Speaker 1: These guys are professionals, obviously, but when I see bonus
- 26:04Speaker 1: abuse online and you know how much money it's costing
- 26:09Speaker 1: them to get bonuses open up accounts.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And these are all the big companies. By the way,
- 26:14Speaker 2: I just think.
- 26:14Speaker 1: About that number of the ie game number I just
- 26:16Speaker 1: talked about ten minutes ago.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Make it so much money?
- 26:21Speaker 1: Like, what does this cut into you know, like I
- 26:23Speaker 1: got to be honest with It's just how to protect yourself.
- 26:26Speaker 2: I'm not saying that.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I'm of course, identity theft is a terrible thing. I'm
- 26:30Speaker 1: not trying to say that. All I'm saying is compared
- 26:33Speaker 1: to the market share, and you're giving away some bonuses here, companies,
- 26:36Speaker 1: please give me a break, and just crying about about
- 26:40Speaker 1: how they lose money because of people opening up account
- 26:43Speaker 1: and abusing bonuses. What about the different ways the methods
- 26:47Speaker 1: that they go about abusing people with we talked about here,
- 26:51Speaker 1: texting people and come on in and gamble more and
- 26:55Speaker 1: trying to entice more gambling and stuff and the different things. John,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I've seen something about there is going to be UFC
- 27:04Speaker 1: CEO Dana White. White House provides a major update on
- 27:09Speaker 1: the White House card June fourteenth. Now this was this
- 27:12Speaker 1: is the big UFC event that they're going to have
- 27:14Speaker 1: actually at the White House on June fourteenth. Now, John,
- 27:19Speaker 1: don't forget. Now you're gonna try to get my friend
- 27:20Speaker 1: in here. Yeah, see how much pull you got with
- 27:23Speaker 1: Dana White. You just got your tickets for the for
- 27:25Speaker 1: the spear that was the purpose. So, uh, listen, I'm
- 27:28Speaker 1: gonna tell you right now, I have the No. Minus eighth,
- 27:32Speaker 1: the one that you get tickets. I have the minus
- 27:34Speaker 1: I told them already I have minus eighth. Yeah, but
- 27:39Speaker 1: I will be bragging. I'll be bragging if you if
- 27:42Speaker 1: you can, if you can get him in there, Yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 1: he'll travel up there just to go to that. So
- 27:48Speaker 1: but I see this, these cars, these people, there's some
- 27:51Speaker 1: there's some big names on these on the on this card.
- 27:54Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens there. John, next, you're gonna
- 27:59Speaker 1: be happy in one. You're gonna be happy about this one,
- 28:01Speaker 1: I think because you're a sick person. The World Series
- 28:04Speaker 1: of Poker has announced a twenty twenty six event lineup.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Oh I saw, Oh you did already.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking for some senior events here. I don't see.
- 28:15Speaker 4: There's a there's a many mystery millions this year for.
- 28:19Speaker 3: So the one that I came in, you know, Bill,
- 28:22Speaker 3: I came in seventy third of nineteen thousand, six hundred
- 28:26Speaker 3: and forty five people. Just to remind everyone out there.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Would you wind up money wise at the end of
- 28:33Speaker 1: the whole World Series, I don't know.
- 28:34Speaker 2: I never had.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Well, that's not important. We don't have to dwell on them.
- 28:37Speaker 4: We don't have to dwell on that.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well on the highlights, Bill dwell on the highlights.
- 28:43Speaker 3: But there is a five hundred and fifty dollars mini
- 28:48Speaker 3: Mystery Millions this year, which I believe is event number
- 28:51Speaker 3: one we're Last year it was one thousand AR buying,
- 28:55Speaker 3: but they're still doing a thousand AR buying one later
- 28:58Speaker 3: in that series.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But yeah, we have the super high roller events and
- 29:02Speaker 1: I want to just looking at it. For one for
- 29:03Speaker 1: Johnny for a super low roller, I don't see it.
- 29:06Speaker 2: No.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Well, what we need is our our our buddy, I
- 29:10Speaker 3: won't say his name, but we need we need to
- 29:12Speaker 3: really attack the WSOP in a big way this year.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Bill, let's get in these high roller events.
- 29:17Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 29:18Speaker 4: What are we doing?
- 29:19Speaker 3: Some of these seniors though, there's a five K high
- 29:22Speaker 3: roller seniors five K.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question, what what is that many?
- 29:27Speaker 1: That many one? You said, yeah, how much is that one?
- 29:31Speaker 4: Five fifty?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Oh wow?
- 29:33Speaker 3: So it was one thousand dollars buying last year. Now
- 29:35Speaker 3: they have one for it's the five hundred or five fifty,
- 29:38Speaker 3: and then they still are doing on thousand dollars. So
- 29:40Speaker 3: there's two big mystery bounty tournaments.
- 29:43Speaker 2: This series fun. That's a fun tournament. Fun.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it is, it's fun fun.
- 29:49Speaker 2: You never know.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I mean, now, can anyone be a bounty? Do you
- 29:53Speaker 1: know you're a bounty? How does the bounty tournament work?
- 29:55Speaker 3: No, anyone you knock out on day two, you get
- 29:58Speaker 3: to pull into that.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Remember the big treasure chest.
- 30:01Speaker 3: It's day two starting too, So you're in the money
- 30:07Speaker 3: day two and that's when the bounties begin. And every
- 30:11Speaker 3: time you get a bound, he gets reach into the
- 30:13Speaker 3: barrel or the treasure chest and it could have up
- 30:16Speaker 3: to a million dollars.
- 30:17Speaker 4: I think there was a two one. Yeah, you were there, Yeah.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Dollars. Yeah, I know.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll be jumping around you did. It's okay, Bill,
- 30:29Speaker 4: The people like it.
- 30:30Speaker 2: No, I don't like the curse, but I do.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I find myself cursing a lot when it comes to
- 30:34Speaker 1: poker poker players. I don't know why it's not but anyway, so, yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 1: so it was announced and I'm sure you're going to
- 30:42Speaker 1: be in a couple of those tournaments.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Yes, Bill, After this show, I'm actually going over. I've
- 30:47Speaker 3: got a meeting at w S o P today, going
- 30:49Speaker 3: over to the offices today.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Wow, all right, so you're getting you're getting enough. You
- 30:54Speaker 2: must be getting the show sponsored or something.
- 30:57Speaker 4: We'll talk, we'll talk, Bill, we'll talk.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I don't actively look for sponsor. I'm so bad.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Like we've met such big people on me and you outside,
- 31:08Speaker 1: and I don't really I'm not good at asking anyone
- 31:11Speaker 1: for money. You want a sponsor, you want to come
- 31:13Speaker 1: get my socials where I get a lot of views,
- 31:15Speaker 1: and by accident, I don't mean to do it. I
- 31:18Speaker 1: just just get a lot of views on talking about
- 31:20Speaker 1: restaurants and stuff. I don't get paid for that stuff.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I just, you know, whenever they pay, you know, the Twitter.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Twitter pays me a couple hundred bucks a month. Three
- 31:29Speaker 1: hundred bucks is a good month. But that's it's nice.
- 31:31Speaker 1: It's a nice perk of it. It's not my things, though,
- 31:34Speaker 1: I can tell you that matter of fact. In the
- 31:36Speaker 1: summer now, i'll slow down actually a little bit too,
- 31:38Speaker 1: tweeting a lot of things. Whereas football season, even basketball,
- 31:42Speaker 1: I'll tweet some more things. Okay, Circa is going going
- 31:48Speaker 1: to host a bigcoin takeover in April. Now, Circa sponsoring
- 31:52Speaker 1: a three day bitcoin takeover takeover event in Las Vegas,
- 31:56Speaker 1: and their downtown casino. This event coincides with it Made
- 32:00Speaker 1: Your Cryptocurrency conference taking place at the Strip, so they
- 32:04Speaker 1: also are involved. And you know, Derek Stevens himself, he
- 32:09Speaker 1: has always been you know for cryptocurrency and he has
- 32:14Speaker 1: also been like a front runner talking about they had
- 32:17Speaker 1: the first machine I ever seen. It was like a
- 32:20Speaker 1: bitcoin machine was in the I don't know if it
- 32:23Speaker 1: was circu It might have been before circum I might
- 32:25Speaker 1: have been over in the d or the Golden Gate.
- 32:28Speaker 1: But owner Derek Stevens has been a long time long
- 32:31Speaker 1: one of the most forward thinking casinos when it comes
- 32:33Speaker 1: to bitcoin. While patrons cannot use the cryptocurrency directly to wager,
- 32:37Speaker 1: they can't use it to pay for food, beverage and amenities.
- 32:40Speaker 1: There's also a bitcoin ATM on site. That's what I meant,
- 32:43Speaker 1: it was a bitcoin ATM. Unfortunately, I have not been
- 32:48Speaker 1: smart enough to do bitcoin in my life. And and
- 32:52Speaker 1: you know, listen, I know people that have it, and
- 32:56Speaker 1: they're not that they're just smarter than me, but they
- 33:01Speaker 1: had more gamble. I'm I'm a little bit of people
- 33:04Speaker 1: don't realize this. I'm a little bit of a knit
- 33:07Speaker 1: If I don't know what's in my lane. So sports betting,
- 33:13Speaker 1: I know I'm gonna win. So when I'm betting props,
- 33:16Speaker 1: when I'm betting mathematical edges, I know I'm gonna win.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Long term, I have no problem firing up a lot
- 33:24Speaker 1: of money. But I just didn't know what bitcoin when
- 33:28Speaker 1: it was. I have a buddy of mine that costs
- 33:30Speaker 1: average like nine hundred dollars a coin, maybe six d
- 33:34Speaker 1: I think it was six hundred dollars a coin and
- 33:37Speaker 1: he has a lot of coins. But you know, it's
- 33:39Speaker 1: sick to it's actually a sickness.
- 33:42Speaker 2: You don't know when to sell John Wards.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're buying fifty coins, which he has more
- 33:49Speaker 1: than that, by the way, and it's sixty thousand of
- 33:52Speaker 1: coin is what That was the big fluctuation it took back.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Then it went from you know, him cost averaging six
- 34:00Speaker 1: hundred pin up to sixty thousand and he never sold
- 34:04Speaker 1: any of it. Then it went down to thirty. Well
- 34:06Speaker 1: now I just wup to one hundred and twenty and
- 34:08Speaker 1: now I think it sits around seventy somewhere like that. Like,
- 34:12Speaker 1: how do you know when to sell? When is the
- 34:14Speaker 1: time to sell? But I just think you have to
- 34:17Speaker 1: sell some. In other words, yeah, if you made that,
- 34:21Speaker 1: you know, one hundred x profit, let's call it one
- 34:24Speaker 1: hundred x six hundred dollars to sixty thousand. I just
- 34:28Speaker 1: don't understand how you don't sell a couple now and
- 34:31Speaker 1: live a good life and have some fun instead of
- 34:35Speaker 1: just saying, oh no, I have to require as much
- 34:37Speaker 1: as I can, and I.
- 34:38Speaker 2: Have to get back to one hundred.
- 34:39Speaker 1: You're not going to sell when it gets back to
- 34:41Speaker 1: one hundred thousand. This is just what your mind says.
- 34:44Speaker 1: So there should be points where you do sell and
- 34:49Speaker 1: buy out to get get some of your money back.
- 34:53Speaker 1: And I'll just say, maybe to enjoy your life a
- 34:55Speaker 1: little bit more. You know, I talk about this guy
- 34:59Speaker 1: a lot, and he gets mad. Probably he doesn't say
- 35:00Speaker 1: he gets mad, but he's a good buddy of mine.
- 35:03Speaker 4: But does he have kids.
- 35:05Speaker 2: He does have kids. His kids are very well off.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Oh okay, his kids are very well off on the
- 35:11Speaker 4: road okay.
- 35:11Speaker 2: But his one son is.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Involved in the bitcoin and he's the one that acquired
- 35:17Speaker 1: all these and he makes a great job. The other
- 35:19Speaker 1: son is very well off, makes giant money. But like
- 35:24Speaker 1: I say to him, enjoy your life a little bit
- 35:27Speaker 1: more go out by the car. You know, he's got
- 35:30Speaker 1: two fifteen year old cars in the driveway.
- 35:32Speaker 2: With all stains.
- 35:33Speaker 4: That's insane.
- 35:34Speaker 2: It's insane.
- 35:35Speaker 3: That's I remember we talked to him once on speakerphone.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he thinks he's enjoying his life. So yeah, I'm
- 35:42Speaker 1: not saying that Bill.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Let me help him, let me help him enjoy I
- 35:46Speaker 4: don't I don't.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Say I'm correct about this, just because yeah, I live
- 35:50Speaker 1: my life.
- 35:53Speaker 2: For today. I'm not saying I'm not saying he.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Uh, he's doing anything wrong. By the way, if that's
- 36:00Speaker 1: just his enjoyment, then that's fine. He goes poker, I mean.
- 36:05Speaker 4: You know what, I bet he'd like.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I bet he'd love put me in some high roller
- 36:08Speaker 3: events would be really good rush of fun for him.
- 36:11Speaker 1: We should would kill him, kill him, No, it would
- 36:15Speaker 1: kill him mentally because he plays poker himself. He plays
- 36:17Speaker 1: one two one to you know limit poke, Uh no,
- 36:21Speaker 1: no limit. Yeah, that's his speed. If he'll play, he'll
- 36:26Speaker 1: play some stud if they have studs. Stud's really not
- 36:29Speaker 1: an active game anymore.
- 36:30Speaker 2: He'll play some stud But yeah, he don't know.
- 36:33Speaker 1: But listen, there's been a lot of generational wealth people
- 36:37Speaker 1: that have just acquired money and never enjoyed their money.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I could tell you one thing, me, that's not the.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Way I'm going out, And that's definitely not the way
- 36:48Speaker 1: he's going out.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Die with as least money in the bank as possible.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Right yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, not if.
- 36:57Speaker 4: You don't have kids kids.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess that's the way it would be. So.
- 37:03Speaker 1: But I just went to breakfast outside here with some
- 37:06Speaker 1: friends of mine and I met them about I don't know,
- 37:10Speaker 1: fifteen minutes from here, and we have this little tiny hole.
- 37:15Speaker 2: In the wall, which was good.
- 37:16Speaker 1: The food was good, but we ate at this like
- 37:20Speaker 1: little surfboard table, like it was a surfboard. I guess
- 37:23Speaker 1: they're trying to be you know, it's just the tiniest
- 37:28Speaker 1: little table. I mean, maybe you could just I don't
- 37:31Speaker 1: want to show my friend's face'll get I made him
- 37:33Speaker 1: pay he very very rarely pays for anything.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Sorry and blasting him.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But you could just see they couldn't even fit our
- 37:41Speaker 1: things at the table. We couldn't even fit our food
- 37:44Speaker 1: at the table. Like that's one plate and you couldn't
- 37:49Speaker 1: even fit like that, that's the whole table. Like, I
- 37:51Speaker 1: don't I'm not interested in no places like that. I
- 37:55Speaker 1: do have a picture of him paying the check. Maybe
- 37:56Speaker 1: I should embarrass him. It's the first check he paid
- 38:00Speaker 1: fifty five years of knowing him. Now I don't know
- 38:02Speaker 1: him that long, but yeah, I'll just show you from
- 38:05Speaker 1: that point on, this is a record history record of
- 38:08Speaker 1: him paying for the first time ever. I'm still waiting
- 38:12Speaker 1: to take that photo of John Orlando. It'll it may
- 38:15Speaker 1: happen one of these days. But yeah, so just so
- 38:18Speaker 1: I sometimes sometimes there's like no common sense.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Who would put a surfboard.
- 38:23Speaker 1: You can't fit one tape, you can't fit one hardly
- 38:26Speaker 1: one plate at this table.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I just couldn't believe how small. But the food was good.
- 38:31Speaker 1: But sometimes you just I when I see these things
- 38:35Speaker 1: in life, I have to comment. And by the way,
- 38:37Speaker 1: I love it's my favorite meal eating breakfast out.
- 38:40Speaker 2: What about you, John, That's my favorite meal. I love
- 38:42Speaker 2: eating breakfast out. I do.
- 38:45Speaker 3: I'm a breakfast food guy late at night, which is weird,
- 38:49Speaker 3: Like I like late night breakfast more than I like
- 38:52Speaker 3: early morning.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Speaking of which, yeah, the.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Other when my plane was canceled or you know, at
- 38:59Speaker 1: two in the morning, I said, you know, I got
- 39:00Speaker 1: four and a half hours to kill, I'm gonna go
- 39:02Speaker 1: over to South Point. So I went over to South
- 39:06Speaker 1: Point and they have their midnight specials at the coffee
- 39:08Speaker 1: shop midnight to six. I think it is what's six
- 39:11Speaker 1: bucks or seven dollars staking eggs? And I never had it.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I've always talked about it, but I never usually get that.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I went by for that, John, I have a great
- 39:21Speaker 1: idea for a reality show. You could literally think about
- 39:25Speaker 1: how goodness, I'm not joking, think about how good it
- 39:28Speaker 1: would be just.
- 39:29Speaker 2: To have a show. I don't know where you can
- 39:31Speaker 2: name it. Vegas Eats Late.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I don't know that you have to think of something.
- 39:35Speaker 1: You can come up with a real catchy name. I
- 39:38Speaker 1: cannot believe how good of an idea this is. Someone
- 39:41Speaker 1: should take me up on it and just do it
- 39:44Speaker 1: on your own. Don't want to think again, do it.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Just tape that crowd that comes in midnight.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Line up for an hour to get in.
- 39:52Speaker 1: That crowd that comes in. Yeah, the late night food
- 39:57Speaker 1: could be a reality show. Yeah, people coming to beers,
- 40:00Speaker 1: people coming and uppy kids coming in crazy like you
- 40:04Speaker 1: follow them around after what they do, after what they
- 40:07Speaker 1: did before. And it's some of the older people too.
- 40:10Speaker 1: It's just it's cute. That would be the the the
- 40:14Speaker 1: mix of people that come in during that show would
- 40:17Speaker 1: be unbelievable to see how what got them to this
- 40:21Speaker 1: midnight to six as right right, six dollars late? Oh
- 40:26Speaker 1: you can you know there's like shrimp cocktails with.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Two ninety nine. Wow, there was.
- 40:31Speaker 1: There was literally biscuits and gravy four ninety nine, steak
- 40:35Speaker 1: an eggs six ninety nine?
- 40:36Speaker 2: What got them to that low roller budget thing? Right?
- 40:41Speaker 1: To give you a perfect example though of things people
- 40:45Speaker 1: are strange. The night I was there, they announced our
- 40:49Speaker 1: computer systems are down.
- 40:51Speaker 2: They can't take any credit cards.
- 40:53Speaker 1: It was like the wave, like like half the room
- 40:56Speaker 1: like left like charging everything the casino gambling.
- 41:02Speaker 3: But they say, yeah, they should be every penny.
- 41:07Speaker 1: It reminds me of you know, it's funny down in
- 41:09Speaker 1: Atlantic City. It's amazing some of these high rollers that
- 41:13Speaker 1: would come down. They would come down from buses all
- 41:15Speaker 1: over the place. They'd be gambling thousands of dollars and
- 41:18Speaker 1: going back taking the bus back to New York. And
- 41:20Speaker 1: some of these groups of people would live ten in
- 41:23Speaker 1: an apartment, literally sleeping on floors.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Every penny that they made.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Hard working people working restaurants all night, hardworking, good people,
- 41:32Speaker 1: even though the buses don't went to Chinatown. These are
- 41:34Speaker 1: hard working, blue collar Americans, and yet they would go
- 41:37Speaker 1: to Atlantic City and blow every penny of what they made,
- 41:41Speaker 1: and they would live like that.
- 41:42Speaker 2: You know, six seven eight, ten people and I should say.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Six seven eight, six seven eights, okay, ten twelve, fifteen
- 41:48Speaker 1: people in an apartment just so they have every penny
- 41:51Speaker 1: saved for gambling.
- 41:52Speaker 2: And it's the same thing I thought. I seen these
- 41:53Speaker 2: people in the coffee shop.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I couldn't believe they were walking out because of the
- 41:57Speaker 1: situation of not using credit cards, but it was also
- 41:59Speaker 1: not using your comp dollars too. I'm not really making
- 42:02Speaker 1: fun of it. I understand it. I just made me
- 42:04Speaker 1: think of all these people that that do that. But anyway,
- 42:06Speaker 1: I think it was pretty cool. But not for me,
- 42:09Speaker 1: that late night food, two in the morning, three in
- 42:13Speaker 1: the morning. You know, it's just not for me. It's
- 42:16Speaker 1: not for plus as I get older, John Boy, I
- 42:20Speaker 1: used to be able to stay stay up for two
- 42:21Speaker 1: days straight gambling, doing whatever.
- 42:24Speaker 2: I cannot stay up past, like eleven o'clock. Now eleven
- 42:28Speaker 2: o'clock I was at the airport hurting at the airport.
- 42:32Speaker 1: I was, yeah, it was. It was pretty tough. It
- 42:36Speaker 1: was pretty tough, but well.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Anyway, all right, well, I think it's enough for today.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I'm on the road.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I'll be back and look forward to seeing you guys
- 42:42Speaker 1: in person next week. Thank you guys for liking, subscribing
- 42:45Speaker 1: your comments, and we'll see you next week on Wise Cracks.
