- 1:47Speaker 3: a synopsis.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Sure After leaving London, Abby connects with an anonymous caller
- 1:53Speaker 4: while working at a cooking hotline. The caller is single
- 1:57Speaker 4: dad John, who Abby unknowing Lee has become smitten with
- 2:01Speaker 4: in real life. Starring Emily Tennant and Niall Mader.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Holiday Hotline was directed by Mark Jean is it Gene,
- 2:10Speaker 3: I don't know? He has sixty four directing credits, including
- 2:14Speaker 3: cult favorite The Nine Lives of Christmas, A Kids Met Christmas,
- 2:18Speaker 3: and Eight Gifts of Hanukkah for Hallmark. This movie was
- 2:21Speaker 3: written by Dwayne Poole and Julie Sherman woof. Dwayne sadly
- 2:26Speaker 3: passed away earlier this year before he could finish writing
- 2:28Speaker 3: this movie, and Julie Sherman wolf took over and saw
- 2:32Speaker 3: it to completion. Dwayne has eighty one writing credits, including
- 2:36Speaker 3: Winter and Veil and Next Stop Christmas And if I
- 2:39Speaker 3: can add, I wanted to look up more about Dwayne Poole.
- 2:43Speaker 3: There was a really nice write up about him and
- 2:45Speaker 3: his career in Variety. I'm going to link that in
- 2:48Speaker 3: our show notes.
- 2:49Speaker 4: But what I didn't know is that Dwayne he worked
- 2:52Speaker 4: with SidD and Marty Kroft on The Spurfs, Scooby Doo,
- 2:56Speaker 4: Alvin and the Chipmunks. He also worked with Aaron Spelling
- 2:58Speaker 4: on The Love Boat and Heart Heart. He had a
- 3:01Speaker 4: very colorful career. Lo that yeah. Julie Shrman Wolfe has
- 3:06Speaker 4: thirty six writing credits, which include the recent smash hit
- 3:09Speaker 4: Field Day and last year's Hanakah on Rye and a
- 3:12Speaker 4: Holiday Spectacular. She's one of our faves.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Indeed, she is actress. Emily Tennant plays Abby. She has
- 3:19Speaker 3: ninety three acting credits, including an appearance in the two
- 3:23Speaker 3: thousand and seven movie Juno, a role in the Hallmark
- 3:26Speaker 3: series Cedar Cove starring Andy McDowell, and recently a starring
- 3:31Speaker 3: role in a movie either titled A Deadly Surrogacy or
- 3:35Speaker 3: The Baby Swindler, depending on whether you look at the
- 3:38Speaker 3: IMDb title or the movie poster. Oh interesting, it's one
- 3:42Speaker 3: of those. U cast a spell on me.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Indeed. Niall Maner plays Jack slash John with his surprise
- 3:51Speaker 4: appearance in The Santa Summit. Nile's current total acting credits
- 3:55Speaker 4: is fifty eight. This year, he was also in Family
- 3:59Speaker 4: History Street Is Buried Past, and we're still waiting on
- 4:02Speaker 4: news about getting another movie in that series, hopefully. Twenty
- 4:06Speaker 4: twenty four.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Mala Vulk plays daughter Jessica. Mila has six acting credits,
- 4:12Speaker 3: although she isn't yet credited on IMDb for this film.
- 4:16Speaker 4: She's real cute.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Get your people on that, Mala. This is her second
- 4:19Speaker 3: Hallmark appearance. She was also in twenty twenty one's Crashing
- 4:22Speaker 3: through the Snow, a Christmas in July feature that I
- 4:24Speaker 3: don't think you watched, but I do think you would enjoy.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Nice tip Hey. Holiday Hotline was filmed in Manitoba, Canada,
- 4:33Speaker 4: mostly in Winnipeg, from September eighteenth to October ninth, twenty
- 4:38Speaker 4: twenty three, and the previous working title of this movie
- 4:41Speaker 4: was called love Oh my goodness, love Birds. I don't
- 4:46Speaker 4: like it. I like Holiday Hotline better, but I do
- 4:50Speaker 4: love the bottom moment of Lovebirds. Not gonna lie, Not
- 4:55Speaker 4: gonna lie.
- 4:56Speaker 3: What's your first impression of this movie?
- 4:59Speaker 4: Well, like Taylor Swift says, you chase two girls, you
- 5:03Speaker 4: lose the one. Oh oh, look at you.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I want to invent a reason to call the Butterball
- 5:10Speaker 3: hotline because they seem delightful. I want to say good.
- 5:16Speaker 4: I should just for shits and giggles, just to see
- 5:18Speaker 4: what happens. I read a review of this movie in
- 5:22Speaker 4: which they were like, seems pretty unlikely that you'd have
- 5:25Speaker 4: a hotline that only runs between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not
- 5:29Speaker 4: a very sustainable business practice. And I wanted to email
- 5:32Speaker 4: this and be like, ma'am, this is very much a
- 5:36Speaker 4: thing that exists, run by Brahaf, the biggest turkey company
- 5:40Speaker 4: in the world. Oh that's crazy. Like I just feel
- 5:43Speaker 4: like it's a no one. Yes, I mean so funny president.
- 5:48Speaker 4: And I called on an episode of The West Wing.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Oh my god, another West Wing reference. He pretended to
- 5:55Speaker 4: be Joe bethersent in from Fargo, North Dakota. You scare
- 6:00Speaker 4: me with your West Wing. I just saw I saw
- 6:03Speaker 4: the clip on Instagram the other day.
- 6:05Speaker 3: It came up, so, oh, wait a minute, are you
- 6:07Speaker 3: watching The West Wing on Instagram? No, but occasionally I
- 6:10Speaker 3: do follow it Instagram and clout I think it's called Sorcanisms,
- 6:14Speaker 3: and they post clips from.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Aaron Sorkin written shows quite often the West Wing.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And it was Thanksgiving, so of course they posted the
- 6:22Speaker 3: butterleball turkey moment.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Ah.
- 6:24Speaker 3: All right, okay, let's talk about what we liked about
- 6:27Speaker 3: this movie.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Okay, do you want to go first? Sure? Okay.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Athavail, who we didn't mention in News and Notes. He
- 6:35Speaker 3: plays Roger. He's back. We saw him as Dasher in
- 6:38Speaker 3: The Santa Summit. He is, for me, the supporting actor
- 6:41Speaker 3: to beat this holiday season. He's really bringing it in
- 6:45Speaker 3: these roles that don't necessarily call for someone to bring
- 6:50Speaker 3: it right, like the call center leader.
- 6:52Speaker 4: It's fine, doesn't make or break the movie, but with
- 6:54Speaker 4: him in that role, it's someone I look forward to.
- 6:57Speaker 4: I agree he was great in The Santa Summit too,
- 6:59Speaker 4: but also, can I correct you for a second, what
- 7:03Speaker 4: did I do? His last name is pronounced a tubla.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, how do you know that? How do
- 7:11Speaker 4: you know? Are you calling me out? I am mark
- 7:17Speaker 4: his day in history. It is Tuesday and November twenty eighth,
- 7:21Speaker 4: and only because I went onto his IMDb and on
- 7:26Speaker 4: his bio it says pronounce a toublay. It's like spelled out.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you, Eric, I apologize, Nile. We used to
- 7:36Speaker 3: ruin your name too, so when you know better, you
- 7:39Speaker 3: do better.
- 7:41Speaker 4: You were just waiting with that one in your pocket
- 7:43Speaker 4: this whole time for me to step in it. I'm
- 7:47Speaker 4: not trying to come for you at all. Like this
- 7:50Speaker 4: is my Mount Everest, you know that, right, like saying
- 7:54Speaker 4: these mens I.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Do I do?
- 7:55Speaker 4: I take the correction and Eric a tublay I will
- 8:00Speaker 4: remember it forever. Can I tell you one more thing?
- 8:02Speaker 4: I liked yes to redeem myself.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I loved the way they staged the calls. It was
- 8:09Speaker 3: the number one thing, particularly with John slash Jack and
- 8:15Speaker 3: Abby slash Peggy in the room together. But they did
- 8:17Speaker 3: it not just with the two of them. They did
- 8:20Speaker 3: it in a number of ways, with the caller and
- 8:23Speaker 3: the helper in.
- 8:24Speaker 4: The same room. Yes, uh huh.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I thought about this a lot now, it does make
- 8:29Speaker 3: more of an impact to have them side by side visually.
- 8:33Speaker 3: It builds the relationship. But it's also easier to film
- 8:36Speaker 3: it that way than it is to film two different
- 8:38Speaker 3: sides of a conversation. When you have a movie that
- 8:40Speaker 3: is twenty percent phone call, you don't want a pause
- 8:45Speaker 3: in the wrong place. You want an actual conversation happening
- 8:48Speaker 3: back and forth. So I think there's both of those
- 8:52Speaker 3: elements at play here. So I will agree with you.
- 8:56Speaker 3: This was a highlight for the movie for me when
- 8:59Speaker 3: we get to see the Turkey disasters happening while Emily
- 9:03Speaker 3: is fielding the calls. I just thought it was a
- 9:06Speaker 3: very smart way to pull the viewer into the emergency
- 9:09Speaker 3: of the situation and what they're doing at the holiday hotline.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Uh huh. It was brilliant. And like you said, when
- 9:16Speaker 4: we have Jack and Peggy on the phone together, that
- 9:20Speaker 4: it's shot in the same space, I think a back
- 9:23Speaker 4: and forth would have been too much, Like you said,
- 9:25Speaker 4: like a pause or whatever, it could just go all wrong.
- 9:29Speaker 4: But I was really impressed that these two actors are
- 9:32Speaker 4: working together in the same scene, in the same space,
- 9:35Speaker 4: but they're never engaging in eye contacts. It was really good.
- 9:39Speaker 4: It was really really good. I was super impressed. Tell
- 9:42Speaker 4: me some things you liked about this movie? So like
- 9:47Speaker 4: a merry Scottish Christmas. I had seen criticism about this
- 9:52Speaker 4: movie before even watching it because of just our schedule.
- 9:56Speaker 4: I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the premise was
- 10:00Speaker 4: super clever, a butterball hotline. Has anybody touched that in
- 10:05Speaker 4: a movie before? No, like ever, certainly not to this extent.
- 10:11Speaker 4: I thought it was so funny. I love dial Mater
- 10:13Speaker 4: in this role. He was like tender and soft, he
- 10:16Speaker 4: was like this nice, loving dad. I thought Emily Tenett
- 10:22Speaker 4: was great. Like what was there not to like about
- 10:24Speaker 4: this movie? It was? It was a great movie. I thought,
- 10:28Speaker 4: I agree with you. And I saw some criticism too
- 10:32Speaker 4: prior to watching it, and don't really agree with much
- 10:36Speaker 4: of it. Can I tell you that I saw a
- 10:39Speaker 4: lot of people say they thought Emily's accent was terrible
- 10:42Speaker 4: and either I don't know a good British accent. I
- 10:45Speaker 4: didn't find it grating or distracting at all. I agree,
- 10:49Speaker 4: I agree. Actually I didn't even know if she was.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I'm not familiar with her as an actor, so I
- 10:56Speaker 4: didn't know if she was actually British, So I mean
- 11:00Speaker 4: call me naive, stupid, uncultured, uncultured. I thought she did great.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Me too, I thought she did great. I loved the
- 11:10Speaker 4: neighbor Margaret, and she was played by Marina Steveson Kerr.
- 11:14Speaker 4: She was also in last year's We Wish You Had
- 11:17Speaker 4: Married Christmas. I don't remember her, but she was just
- 11:20Speaker 4: kooky enough that it didn't feel HIJINXY. And she has
- 11:24Speaker 4: this one line when she's helping Emily with the suitcases
- 11:28Speaker 4: and she goes, I'm what my grandkids call ripped, and
- 11:31Speaker 4: I laughed out loud, laugh out loud. I just thought
- 11:36Speaker 4: it was so funny. I remember that line, and I
- 11:39Speaker 4: remember as soon as she said it, I was like, oh,
- 11:41Speaker 4: as they're walking up. This is the problem with reviewing
- 11:44Speaker 4: movies is my brain was like, oh, this suitcase is empty.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I mean, of course they are.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Why would you put stuff in the suitcase in a movie?
- 11:49Speaker 3: But unlike an empty coffee cup, the suitcases didn't lift
- 11:54Speaker 3: as if they were empty.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Did you notice that? No? No, I was.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Specifically looking for and you know you know what I'm
- 12:00Speaker 3: talking about. When they're flinging around a coffee cup, you
- 12:02Speaker 3: can tell the difference between a paper cup that is
- 12:05Speaker 3: empty and one that has substance to it. It's the
- 12:08Speaker 3: same thing with a suitcase, right right, anyway, right right.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I didn't hate all the silly turkey puns and jokes.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I thought they leaned in hard and I was.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Enjoying this silly movie.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I mean, it has heart, it has a story to tell,
- 12:23Speaker 3: but ultimately it's about a turkey hotline. I would have
- 12:26Speaker 3: been disappointed if they hadn't done.
- 12:29Speaker 4: All of that. I agree.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I agree, O Briner And sticking the turkey under the
- 12:35Speaker 3: heating pad for the night, y'all. I am sure people
- 12:37Speaker 3: have done worse things to rapidly defrost their turkey, Like
- 12:41Speaker 3: I don't think you understand the panic of realizing that
- 12:44Speaker 3: your turkey is still frozen the night before you need
- 12:47Speaker 3: to put it in the oven.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Don't do that. By the way, cold water changed every hour.
- 12:51Speaker 4: It is the way to do it. But nevertheless, you
- 12:54Speaker 4: know what it was really cool is that this was
- 12:57Speaker 4: like a Thanksgiving slash Christmas movie. Yes, this is one
- 13:02Speaker 4: that you can watch before Thanksgiving and still not be like, uh,
- 13:06Speaker 4: it's a Christmas movie. Why are we watching it in November?
- 13:09Speaker 4: You know?
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yes, And in fact, when I turned it on, my
- 13:13Speaker 3: brain was like, Oh, this is a thanksget Knowing it's
- 13:15Speaker 3: a Christmas movie, my brain was like, must be a
- 13:17Speaker 3: Thanksgiving movie. They really thread that needle nicely having it
- 13:20Speaker 3: run the full season. Yes, I want to say one
- 13:24Speaker 3: more thing about the hot line. I think they could
- 13:26Speaker 3: have gone two totally different directions with the way they
- 13:28Speaker 3: played the hot line because you've got these people calling
- 13:30Speaker 3: in with these outrageous questions, and I thought it was
- 13:33Speaker 3: really funny because they a couple times are like, do
- 13:36Speaker 3: not put your frozen turkey into a vat of boiling oil.
- 13:39Speaker 3: But all of the workers at the hotline were lovely
- 13:43Speaker 3: and kind to people calling in.
- 13:44Speaker 4: I mean, they might have been like.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Firm about what not to do in a dangerous situation,
- 13:50Speaker 3: but they weren't behind their scenes rolling their eyes at
- 13:52Speaker 3: these people who didn't know what to do. It's like
- 13:55Speaker 3: calling your mom for help or you know whoever you're
- 13:58Speaker 3: gonna call when you need help in the kitchen.
- 14:01Speaker 4: It felt like that. That's why I'm like, I want
- 14:04Speaker 4: to call these people and have them hold my hand
- 14:07Speaker 4: through whatever turkey related mishaps i'm having. You don't have
- 14:11Speaker 4: turkey related mishaps. Turkey's actually not the hardest part of Thanksgiving.
- 14:15Speaker 4: It's pretty easy to make turkey. I think so too.
- 14:20Speaker 4: But the hardest part about Thanksgiving is having all the
- 14:23Speaker 4: stuff come together at one time. Agree.
- 14:26Speaker 3: The worst part about a turkey, honestly for me is
- 14:27Speaker 3: carving it.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Oh interesting, It's just there's just so much and so
- 14:33Speaker 4: many things.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Uh, and nobody else in my house knows how to
- 14:36Speaker 3: do it, so I always end up carving it.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I hate it. I have one last liked here. Okay.
- 14:42Speaker 4: I had read some criticism that the conflict in this
- 14:45Speaker 4: movie wasn't all that deep, and while I agree, because
- 14:49Speaker 4: Jacket Jack slash John gets very upset at one point
- 14:53Speaker 4: when he learns Peggy is Abby, and I didn't feel
- 14:58Speaker 4: like it was deception. Was he making too big of
- 15:01Speaker 4: a deal about it? I thought so. I thought so too.
- 15:06Speaker 4: But I also thought it was kind of clever how
- 15:09Speaker 4: Abby was feeling like she was being cheated on with Peggy, Yeah,
- 15:15Speaker 4: and vice versa, even though she's the same person. And
- 15:19Speaker 4: I think that shows more about what John what's his name?
- 15:26Speaker 4: Is his name actually Jack or John? His name is John,
- 15:30Speaker 4: but Jack is what he goes by because Jack is
- 15:32Speaker 4: a nickname. For John. Okay, So I feel like that
- 15:36Speaker 4: shows more about his character because he was like weighing
- 15:40Speaker 4: his options who does he like better, Abby or Peggy?
- 15:44Speaker 4: And she realized all of that. I thought that said
- 15:48Speaker 4: more about him, even though like, you're gonna go for
- 15:50Speaker 4: the person that you like more, right, obviously, but there
- 15:56Speaker 4: was there was no actual real conflict. I agree that.
- 16:00Speaker 4: I the conflict wasn't as big as it should have been,
- 16:04Speaker 4: but it was interesting how it played out. I just
- 16:07Speaker 4: like their are like separate, what's the word I'm looking
- 16:09Speaker 4: for perspectives on it. Yeah, that's a really good point.
- 16:12Speaker 4: So if we can move on to wish that's really
- 16:15Speaker 4: my one. Oh okay, I'm sorry, don't I hate an
- 16:18Speaker 4: easily solved misunderstanding.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I like your perspective. I really did like seeing it
- 16:23Speaker 3: from both sides. And he tells Abby I believe he
- 16:30Speaker 3: has feelings for her, but then he goes to the
- 16:33Speaker 3: hotline to thank Peggy for reopening his part, and she
- 16:37Speaker 3: sees this, knowing that she's the same person that he
- 16:41Speaker 3: has feelings for. I thought, oh, that's really awkward, right, Like,
- 16:44Speaker 3: now are you cheating on in quotation Mark's Abby with Peggy?
- 16:50Speaker 3: Although I thought his moment with Peggy was more like
- 16:54Speaker 3: thank you for being there for me, as opposed to
- 16:57Speaker 3: I'm falling in love with you. Do you understand what
- 16:59Speaker 3: I'm saying. I felt okay with him going to Peggy
- 17:02Speaker 3: at the hotline to give her the gifts to the
- 17:04Speaker 3: Ornament as a thank you and kind of close out
- 17:07Speaker 3: their relationship. And I thought he made the right choice
- 17:11Speaker 3: in choosing the woman he actually knew and had met
- 17:13Speaker 3: in the.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Flesh, even though they're the same person.
- 17:15Speaker 3: But I can't get over and it's small, but there
- 17:19Speaker 3: were multiple times where they could have avoided this, and
- 17:24Speaker 3: she had opportunity to tell him who she was.
- 17:27Speaker 4: And I didn't think, like.
- 17:29Speaker 3: You said, it was that big of a deal, like
- 17:32Speaker 3: her saying actually because she realizes before he does, actually
- 17:36Speaker 3: we're the same person. I didn't think it was that
- 17:39Speaker 3: big of a deal. I don't think it's all that
- 17:41Speaker 3: odd that she was using an American accent. I think
- 17:43Speaker 3: it's a funny plot point. Oh, the Americans don't want
- 17:46Speaker 3: to listen to a British person tell them how to
- 17:48Speaker 3: cook their American Thanksgiving. I didn't think he needed to
- 17:51Speaker 3: be all that fired up about it.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Upset. Yeah, Well, because even when he first calls the hotline,
- 17:58Speaker 4: his brother's like, why are you using Jack? And he's like,
- 18:01Speaker 4: I don't know these people, so like.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Yeah, he uses John and it's she even calls that
- 18:06Speaker 3: whatever you told me your name was John.
- 18:08Speaker 4: He's like, my name is John. People said like, oh.
- 18:11Speaker 4: It felt like Sleepless in Seattle, right, which I liked
- 18:15Speaker 4: that where they you know, their relationship develops over the phone.
- 18:18Speaker 4: It had a moment of you've got mail to me
- 18:21Speaker 4: where Joe Fox knows who Kathleen Kelly is. He knows
- 18:27Speaker 4: that he's the big bad guy who's about to put
- 18:29Speaker 4: her out of business, but she doesn't know who he is.
- 18:32Speaker 4: When he comes into her store and she introduces herself
- 18:35Speaker 4: and he goes, just call me Joe, and like he
- 18:39Speaker 4: doesn't want to reveal himself. It was that moment like, oh,
- 18:42Speaker 4: I'm not going to give my name away on this.
- 18:44Speaker 4: You did the same thing, dude. Yeah, I agree. That
- 18:47Speaker 4: doesn't ruin the movie for me.
- 18:49Speaker 3: It doesn't ruin the movie for me either. I get
- 18:51Speaker 3: frustrated in books and in movies when they have an
- 18:54Speaker 3: opportunity to solve the misunderstanding and only holding on to
- 18:57Speaker 3: the misunderstanding is what gives us a content flicked?
- 19:00Speaker 4: All right, that's a can I talk about what I
- 19:03Speaker 4: wish for?
- 19:04Speaker 2: Please?
- 19:04Speaker 4: It's just one Okay. I freaking love cottage cheese and fruit.
- 19:09Speaker 4: But I could have done without the blatant product placement
- 19:13Speaker 4: in this movie. It was too many times, I know,
- 19:17Speaker 4: takes me out of the moment and it makes me
- 19:19Speaker 4: feel like we're in a twenty seventeen Hallmark movie where
- 19:21Speaker 4: there's like a luberderm zoom in and mingle all the
- 19:24Speaker 4: way along of those lines. I had wondered if Twinings
- 19:29Speaker 4: Tea was a sponsor because every time they show Emily
- 19:33Speaker 4: working at the hotline, she's holding her like British flag
- 19:37Speaker 4: mug right, and she's drinking tea. But it's the brand Twinings.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I think it's called Twinings. Now I'm like having second thoughts, like,
- 19:45Speaker 4: what's it actually called Twinings? I don't know, Am I
- 19:48Speaker 4: saying it wrong? Niil matter a tula. They have a
- 19:51Speaker 4: tea called Gingerbread Joy. Maybe I need all that. I
- 19:55Speaker 4: don't know, but that is the brand tea wi n
- 19:59Speaker 4: I in gs And.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I just thought it was interesting that one N one
- 20:05Speaker 3: N I would say it's twinings. Okay, it was interesting
- 20:08Speaker 3: that she was drinking that it is a United Kingdom
- 20:12Speaker 3: founded company. That was thoughtful use yes, so I wondered
- 20:18Speaker 3: if it was that to me?
- 20:20Speaker 4: Is more clever, yes than like the zoom on Dalpa
- 20:24Speaker 4: Daisy or let's talk about did you see that I
- 20:27Speaker 4: only have two?
- 20:28Speaker 3: I mean my Daisy Cottage cheese at was one. I
- 20:30Speaker 3: had three. Okay, they go to a Christmas kindle market.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Did you hear they mentioned it? Like, oh, we're going
- 20:36Speaker 3: to go to the Christmas Kindle market.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 20:39Speaker 4: That's the same market we went to in Denver, and
- 20:42Speaker 4: no shade to the Christmas Kindle market people, but I
- 20:46Speaker 4: was a steaming pile of disappointments. Wait a minute, it's
- 20:50Speaker 4: not the exact same. It's like that company puts together
- 20:53Speaker 4: markets in multiple cities. Yeah, that wasn't that great.
- 20:58Speaker 3: It was all food stands and like dog CBD choos.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I wanted like handmade ornaments and beautiful scarves and I
- 21:08Speaker 3: don't baked goods.
- 21:09Speaker 4: I just went to a beautiful market in Boston recently. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 4: it was great. It was so much better than that
- 21:15Speaker 4: Denver one. Yeah, did you notice how many Christmas trees
- 21:19Speaker 4: were in Jack John's house. I did not the downstairs.
- 21:25Speaker 4: I was like, in the hallway there's two, and then
- 21:27Speaker 4: into the next room there's another one, and then in
- 21:29Speaker 4: the kitchen there's one. I was like, Oh, how many
- 21:31Speaker 4: do you have downstairs? Isn't that funny that he can't
- 21:36Speaker 4: maintain that level of decoration but dude can't cook a
- 21:39Speaker 4: turkey to maintain their holiday dinner tradition for his tire.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I thought that exact thought. I thought, is he overdoing
- 21:47Speaker 4: the decorations because his wife is dead? You know, he
- 21:50Speaker 4: still wants to like have this whole like experience for
- 21:53Speaker 4: his daughter. Sure? Maybe? And another question, I have another
- 21:57Speaker 4: question for you. I saw this on Reddit. Actually, somebody's like,
- 22:00Speaker 4: I'm over the dead spouses. What do you think about that?
- 22:03Speaker 4: Can't he just be like a single dad? Can't he
- 22:07Speaker 4: just be a single dad who maybe never got married
- 22:09Speaker 4: or is divorced. Yeah, I mean, I think we live
- 22:13Speaker 4: in twenty twenty four almost. I think it's okay that
- 22:16Speaker 4: they're single parents out there who exist without a dead spouse.
- 22:20Speaker 4: I agree, So Hallmark, make that change. Okay? I have
- 22:25Speaker 4: two more, little, two more little? Did you see that
- 22:28Speaker 4: one was a blue reference? Did you catch that Blue
- 22:33Speaker 4: is like a present day cartoon for kids. Yes, I've
- 22:37Speaker 4: never seen it, but I know it's very popular. Yes,
- 22:41Speaker 4: I just was surprised that it showed up in my
- 22:43Speaker 4: Hallmark movie. The second thing is also surprised by the
- 22:47Speaker 4: nineteen ninety eight in sync hit Never Knew the Meaning
- 22:50Speaker 4: of Christmas? In my notes, I had to choozam it.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I was like, is that in sync? And indeed it
- 22:55Speaker 4: was Megan's favorite justin Timberlake in her Hallmark movie. That's
- 23:01Speaker 4: a starcasm, folks. Yes, yes, all right, what did you
- 23:05Speaker 4: rate this movie? I gave it three point two five stars? Wow?
- 23:10Speaker 4: Which I gave it four stars?
- 23:12Speaker 1: Whoa?
- 23:13Speaker 4: You gave it more stars than a merry Scottish Christmas? Yes?
- 23:17Speaker 4: I did. Yeah, that's interesting. I think I maybe liked
- 23:20Speaker 4: it more than that too. You know, I think I
- 23:24Speaker 4: really enjoy rom coms. I like to laugh in my
- 23:29Speaker 4: Hallmark movies. Yeah, me too, So I think that's why
- 23:32Speaker 4: those kind of movies get higher ratings from me.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Okay, hey, thanks for listening to this episode of Girls
