- 0:31Speaker 2: guy that I work with.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Oh, okay, skipping lunch. He what he skipped lunch.
- 0:37Speaker 2: At first, I thought it was just a preference, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 2: but I overheard him one day telling another person at
- 0:43Speaker 2: work that he's tied all money and he's trying to
- 0:45Speaker 2: come back, you know, and everybody possible. And he didn't
- 0:50Speaker 2: do it for like, for sympathy or get so sorry
- 0:52Speaker 2: for him. I mean he even laughed it off. But
- 0:55Speaker 2: ever since then, I've been buying an extra mill or
- 0:59Speaker 2: just saying, you know, I made a mistake in my
- 1:01Speaker 2: order or I got it wrong or something, you know,
- 1:05Speaker 2: like I didn't like something like that. Yeah, sometimes I
- 1:09Speaker 2: say that the guy at the restaurant has a crush
- 1:11Speaker 2: on me and gives me extra food and my coworker
- 1:15Speaker 2: usually takes it and he doesn't question and thankfully, but
- 1:19Speaker 2: I've been doing this for a few weeks now, and
- 1:21Speaker 2: you know, honestly, I don't really care if he ever
- 1:24Speaker 2: finds out I'm doing it on purpose. I mean, I listen,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I've been in that spot before, and when ten dollars
- 1:31Speaker 2: feels like a lot and it thinks, you know, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: I mean small things mean a lot sometimes and I'm
- 1:38Speaker 2: not rich, you know, but I can do thish and
- 1:42Speaker 2: it just feels the right thing to do.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I love I love this dirty little secret. So
- 1:48Speaker 1: your secret is you find out this guy at work
- 1:51Speaker 1: is struggling and he's skipping launch, not because he necessarily
- 1:54Speaker 1: wants to, because it feels and sounds like he might
- 1:56Speaker 1: be struggling financially. So you've been him meals and be like, oh,
- 2:01Speaker 1: they gave me an extra one. This is actually very sweet.
- 2:04Speaker 3: That is I love that.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I was just wondering if there's anything else I could
- 2:09Speaker 2: do or I mean, I don't want to embarrass the fella.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I mean, I love helping him, but makes.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Sense, Yeah, that is a tough, tough balance of trying
- 2:19Speaker 1: to figure out like if you know someone's in a
- 2:21Speaker 1: hard place, or you feel like they are approaching it
- 2:24Speaker 1: in the right way without making them feel I don't know.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you just never know someone's financial situation. Like maybe
- 2:31Speaker 3: he's cutting back for a different reason. Maybe he's spending
- 2:34Speaker 3: his money on something that he feels is more important
- 2:36Speaker 3: than lunch.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I just don't know.
- 2:37Speaker 3: It's hard to like put yourself into someone's position without
- 2:40Speaker 3: knowing everything.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Well, you feel like back in the day, I felt
- 2:43Speaker 1: like things have changed. I feel like over the past
- 2:45Speaker 1: few years. Back in the day, if you had a job,
- 2:47Speaker 1: it's like, well, I have a job, I have money.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Now no one's getting raises right, so things cost more.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And before you know it, the job you had that
- 2:56Speaker 1: was paying okay and you were surviving. Now you're not
- 2:59Speaker 1: surviving anymore. Your salary might not change, but everything else
- 3:02Speaker 1: around us has went up. Yeah, so that's maybe what
- 3:06Speaker 1: he's dealing with, because I know a lot of people
- 3:08Speaker 1: in that position right now, and it's sad.
- 3:09Speaker 3: This reminds me of my grandparents because when they first
- 3:12Speaker 3: started dating back in the day, Like my grandma loves hamburgers, right,
- 3:15Speaker 3: and so they would go out to eat, but she
- 3:16Speaker 3: would tell him that she wasn't hungry because she knew
- 3:19Speaker 3: he didn't have a lot of money and she didn't
- 3:21Speaker 3: want him buying her a hamburger too.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That is the sweetest I know? Is this when they
- 3:28Speaker 1: worked at Waterburger?
- 3:28Speaker 3: No, this is my grandparents.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Oh your grandparents, not.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Your parents, ye, like way back when.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so I.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Love what you're trying to do.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Though. Maybe you could just pull him aside, maybe one day,
- 3:39Speaker 1: offer to take him to lunch and just have a
- 3:40Speaker 1: conversation with him and see what happens.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I don't think about that.
- 3:45Speaker 1: And maybe maybe he says what's going on? And maybe
- 3:49Speaker 1: you'd be like, hey, well, if you ever, you know,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I don't mind grabbing an extra lunch here and there
- 3:53Speaker 1: or doing whatever you kid, but what you're doing is
- 3:55Speaker 1: super sweet.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Maybe what you know what? I do have some to
- 4:00Speaker 1: Burger gift cards? Maybe I could give you some of those?
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And you could just say, hey, okay, and
- 4:04Speaker 1: I have an extra what a Burger gift card? You
- 4:06Speaker 1: want one? Here? You could take it and then you
- 4:07Speaker 1: could buy lunch that way and you won't feel totally.
- 4:09Speaker 3: You could set him up for a little while.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah you know what, I'll do that. Here, hang on
- 4:13Speaker 1: and I'll give you one.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Okay, Oh, thank you so much, thy.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Little motivation to do something something nice for someone today. Yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you know, paying forward. There you go, dirty little secret
