- 1:12Speaker 3: It's a podcast called twenty five Whist Stocking and they
- 1:18Speaker 3: are whist. So yeah, it's too bad, but what did
- 1:21Speaker 3: you expect.
- 1:22Speaker 4: It's a podcast called twenty five Whist Souls Wine for.
- 1:28Speaker 1: The show Eddie Buldwhistle We Are Back. Eddie was telling
- 1:32Speaker 1: me a story at dinner last night about the Siamese twins.
- 1:37Speaker 3: It caught everyone's attention, it did, I could stop thinking
- 1:40Speaker 3: about it.
- 1:41Speaker 1: So there are these two Siamese twins. The brothers are connected.
- 1:44Speaker 1: They're not connected to the shoulders, they're connected like the
- 1:47Speaker 1: mid section. Yeah, and one of them straight, one of
- 1:49Speaker 1: them is gay.
- 1:50Speaker 5: Oh no, oh god.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And we debated for forty five minutes how that goes.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Lots of questions about it, but no answers, no answers
- 1:59Speaker 3: because we don't know them.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and so my, well, lots of theories. But if
- 2:05Speaker 1: one straightened one is gay. Let's say the straight one
- 2:08Speaker 1: is like making out with a lady and he's like
- 2:10Speaker 1: and then she like does stuff to his stuff, and
- 2:14Speaker 1: and there's the their stuff. Yeah, but but it has
- 2:18Speaker 1: to be like thinking about it because they have one
- 2:19Speaker 1: winner like everything heads and two sets of shoulders. But
- 2:27Speaker 1: then as it goes down to the middle, they connect.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Close your ass, close your ass.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you can close your eyes all you want.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So my theory is one of them as something's happening
- 2:37Speaker 1: to him, is like oh yeah, and the other one's
- 2:39Speaker 1: like like trying to vomit the whole time. And then
- 2:42Speaker 1: my theory was do you put up a curtain in
- 2:43Speaker 1: between them.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Like pregnancies?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but but that goes all the way down, so
- 2:47Speaker 1: it has to be like a curtain that has like
- 2:48Speaker 1: a cardboard that goes under the chin so you don't
- 2:52Speaker 1: see even though you are feeling. We spent forty five
- 2:55Speaker 1: minutes talking about this last night, and his story started
- 2:59Speaker 1: with I saw this on TikTok and I'm like, oh no,
- 3:02Speaker 1: who knows how true it is? And he found he
- 3:04Speaker 1: brought it.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Up and I sent you the link just so you
- 3:06Speaker 3: would believe.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Me, and it's a true story. And I'd love to
- 3:10Speaker 1: have him on the show and talk to them about Oh.
- 3:12Speaker 3: My gosh, that would be amazing. We have lots of questions,
- 3:16Speaker 3: So which one would Oh, you talk to both of them?
- 3:17Speaker 3: I guess yeah, yeah, I thought I stopped myself in
- 3:20Speaker 3: the middle of it because like, which one would you
- 3:22Speaker 3: like talk to? Well, you're gonna talk to both of.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Them, I know, I just because they list like different things.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Because that you're right, Like, that was a funny conversation.
- 3:28Speaker 3: We talked about it, blah blah blah blah. On the
- 3:30Speaker 3: way home. My wife started researching more too, and then
- 3:32Speaker 3: she found the other set of Siamese twins, which are girls,
- 3:36Speaker 3: and she was talking about how one of them wants
- 3:38Speaker 3: to go to like law school, and the other one
- 3:40Speaker 3: just wants to cut hair for a living. So it's like, oh,
- 3:44Speaker 3: what do you do?
- 3:44Speaker 1: But one studies while the other one cuts. But I
- 3:47Speaker 1: would say the weird part of that is when she's
- 3:50Speaker 1: like in the courtroom, you're on.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Her, what does the other one do?
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 3:57Speaker 3: Like and like, if you're gonna go to law, if
- 3:59Speaker 3: your sister's go to law school, you might as well
- 4:01Speaker 3: just take the classes too, because you're there anyway.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Can you not be interested at all? Like you could
- 4:05Speaker 1: literally bore you or have two different brains though one
- 4:10Speaker 1: actually maybe maybe smartest not the word, but is uh
- 4:16Speaker 1: better in tune with reading and learning from a book
- 4:19Speaker 1: where another one is doesn't learn that way.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Another one's more creative one.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But to me, it's a straight gay more than it
- 4:23Speaker 1: is the jobs.
- 4:24Speaker 3: It's yeah, crazy man.
- 4:25Speaker 5: And imagine being the person on the other side of it.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's already a thing. Like and that's what
- 4:31Speaker 1: Eddie said too. I said they're fetishes for everything.
- 4:33Speaker 5: That's true.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That, yeah, And because I don't know if it's the
- 4:36Speaker 1: same two girls, but one of them like once married,
- 4:39Speaker 1: one of them is married, and like they want to
- 4:41Speaker 1: have a kid.
- 4:41Speaker 3: And that dude like is married.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yes, yeah to a dude. That's a different set of
- 4:47Speaker 1: sim and.
- 4:48Speaker 3: It's a different kind of Okay, Okay, any dude that
- 4:52Speaker 3: wants to marry Siamese twins, he didn't he made one
- 4:54Speaker 3: of them, I know. But then come on, I know
- 4:55Speaker 3: what you're doing. It's all messed up.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But is it a two and a half some? Is
- 5:01Speaker 1: it a it's not three nick half.
- 5:04Speaker 3: It's so weird.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So anyway, I guess I'm thinking about that, thought about
- 5:09Speaker 1: it all night, and that was that's what I wanted
- 5:10Speaker 1: to lead it.
- 5:11Speaker 5: And I'm picturing it, but I don't even know if
- 5:12Speaker 5: I want to look it up.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Can I do another Eddie story as we start? The
- 5:15Speaker 1: Eddie thinks he has a teacher in high school and
- 5:16Speaker 1: wanted to have sex with them. And he was telling
- 5:17Speaker 1: us a dinner last night. Yeah, Eddie was dominating the
- 5:20Speaker 1: conversation last night, not because he was like I must
- 5:22Speaker 1: be the person that talks. He was just on fire.
- 5:24Speaker 3: They were just little things that came up and I
- 5:26Speaker 3: was like, I have something to add to that, like
- 5:27Speaker 3: and I don't know's.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I was not a part of whatever it was where
- 5:30Speaker 1: this came up. I just heard you say my teacher
- 5:32Speaker 1: wanted to have sex with me in high school.
- 5:33Speaker 3: We were talking. Somebody was talking about how they would
- 5:36Speaker 3: cheat it in high school and there was a girl
- 5:39Speaker 3: that helped him cheat and I was like, was she hot?
- 5:41Speaker 3: And he said eh, And then we started talking about
- 5:43Speaker 3: teachers and that's how this came up. And and now
- 5:45Speaker 3: that I'm older, I see it clearly.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Please explain to the fellas here, why you think you
- 5:50Speaker 1: had a teacher in high school that wanted to have
- 5:51Speaker 1: sex with you?
- 5:52Speaker 3: When I graduated high school, there was a teacher, an
- 5:54Speaker 3: English teacher that we had and on once we graduated.
- 5:57Speaker 3: At the graduation ceremony, she said, if some of you
- 6:01Speaker 3: guys want to come to the house. She talked to
- 6:02Speaker 3: me and two of my friends, if some of you
- 6:05Speaker 3: guys want to come to the house and have a drink, like,
- 6:06Speaker 3: I'll make one for you. And at the time I
- 6:09Speaker 3: told my buddies like we were talking about like should
- 6:11Speaker 3: we go, like that sounds kind of fun?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Raider one through ten, six and a half. If you're
- 6:17Speaker 1: a nigh school and as that she was, you're superior exactly.
- 6:23Speaker 3: At the time, we're thinking, like that's so cool of her.
- 6:26Speaker 3: It is it's like want us to go over and
- 6:28Speaker 3: have drinks, Like that's awesome. We're eighteen, Like you.
- 6:30Speaker 5: Guys didn't have any other thoughts other than like this
- 6:32Speaker 5: is cool.
- 6:33Speaker 3: No, not one but now and then you didn't think
- 6:35Speaker 3: she want to have sex with no.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oh, So it's just all I got it.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Now that I'm older, it's like I understand it's probably
- 6:41Speaker 3: a lonely weird.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Was she lonely?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Is you're single?
- 6:45Speaker 1: But was she?
- 6:46Speaker 3: Like?
- 6:46Speaker 1: Did she have boyfriends?
- 6:47Speaker 3: Do you know? Not that I knew of?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Okay, can I ask you the question I asked you
- 6:50Speaker 1: last night?
- 6:52Speaker 3: I don't know what I asked Eddie.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I said, do you think if you and your two
- 6:56Speaker 1: buddies would have gone over to her house? And she
- 7:00Speaker 1: was like, I'll fix you drinks? And you had no idea.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And then she was like, I want to have sex
- 7:03Speaker 1: all three of you at the same time. Would you
- 7:05Speaker 1: have done it? Like all three of you you're all
- 7:06Speaker 1: naked with her, like fulfilling her fantasy? Would you have
- 7:09Speaker 1: done it?
- 7:10Speaker 3: And my answer last night was yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's a story. I just don't feel like I want
- 7:17Speaker 1: to get naked with dudes.
- 7:19Speaker 5: I have to have a couple drinks. I know, Bobby,
- 7:21Speaker 5: so obviously you couldn't.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Maybe that's why rinks.
- 7:24Speaker 5: You couldn't just do that like dead sober. No, but I.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Appreciate your honesty where all three of you are just
- 7:29Speaker 1: like naked with her, even outside of that, Like, I
- 7:35Speaker 1: don't have a lot of those letter rips, not even sex,
- 7:37Speaker 1: but like anything, so I don't have I wish I
- 7:40Speaker 1: had more of letter rip.
- 7:41Speaker 3: It was kind of a mantra when I was younger, Dude,
- 7:43Speaker 3: like this letter rip, whatever happens happened, it's interesting. Yeah
- 7:47Speaker 3: I changed now though, Dude, I'm married, four kids.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yeah for sure. This is my wife's birthday party last night.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Oh no.
- 7:55Speaker 1: But again, he wasn't like demanding that he'd hold court.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It was just the first thing I was like, you
- 8:00Speaker 1: about this, Simon twenty one of them gay, one straight.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And then way we went and he goes. Then I
- 8:03Speaker 1: heard him because I'm just trying to like talk to people.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I don't even like talking to people. But he's just
- 8:08Speaker 1: and then Ed is like, yeah, yeah, I think my
- 8:11Speaker 1: high school teacher don't have sex with me. And I'm like,
- 8:13Speaker 1: all right, I'm just going to dedicate fully to this
- 8:15Speaker 1: because he's on it. Like give the hot hand the ball,
- 8:18Speaker 1: like you take it.
- 8:20Speaker 3: That was just a couple of weeks off. I guess
- 8:23Speaker 3: just kind of let it up.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Those good good one.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Thank you man, Kevin.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, God, dang, dude, what's what's happening. I cannot believe
- 8:31Speaker 1: the Patriots won. You lost the first round pick. That's
- 8:35Speaker 1: your team. I was so upset for you, Like and
- 8:39Speaker 1: then they fire the coach. Yeah, like there was nothing
- 8:42Speaker 1: fire on before the game to make sure they lose.
- 8:45Speaker 5: So I was thinking about it, and maybe it's like
- 8:47Speaker 5: a wishful movie type scenario where Craft went to him
- 8:50Speaker 5: before the game, like, hey, if you win this game,
- 8:53Speaker 5: you will not come back, and he's like, I'm gonna
- 8:55Speaker 5: stick it to you because I love my players. And
- 8:57Speaker 5: then he won the game, and after the game, Craft like,
- 9:00Speaker 5: you know what, You're out, dude. I tried to tell
- 9:02Speaker 5: you no chance.
- 9:03Speaker 3: No. I mean, that's a cool storybook line.
- 9:06Speaker 7: But remember a couple of years ago, Lovey Smith did
- 9:08Speaker 7: that and got fired.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And lost him the pick. Yeah, but he was getting
- 9:11Speaker 1: fired anyway. Yeah, he was like he knew he was
- 9:13Speaker 1: for sure out.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Or not the interim but the one year coach. Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 5: whatever it was. But yeah, that's kind of how I
- 9:17Speaker 5: pictured it. And then it's like the reality said and
- 9:19Speaker 5: it's like you had the.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Number one pick.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I know, So how does that happen? Is it the
- 9:24Speaker 3: players just being like we're gonna play here.
- 9:26Speaker 1: The thing about football was different than basketball. You can't
- 9:31Speaker 1: it throws, that's gambling. You can't tank a.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Football game because there are too many players.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Because everybody's competing for a job for next season. For
- 9:40Speaker 1: everything's on film, you're not. You can't take a football
- 9:45Speaker 1: a game. So a head coach can make personnel decisions
- 9:49Speaker 1: to actually affect the game. But nobody's gonna play less
- 9:52Speaker 1: hard because also you can. That's how you get injured too,
- 9:55Speaker 1: going sixty percent. So you're not gonna have players go
- 9:58Speaker 1: sixty percent out of our percent. You can put worse
- 9:59Speaker 1: play y is in, which is ends what's happening. What
- 10:02Speaker 1: happens to basketball when they tank, they just don't. They're
- 10:06Speaker 1: calf strain. They management, the best players don't play, and
- 10:09Speaker 1: they lose by playing worset players that even those players
- 10:12Speaker 1: play hard. That you just put it in bad players.
- 10:14Speaker 1: But yeah, I know they they I couldn't, dude, I
- 10:17Speaker 1: could not they You had the number one.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Pick, unbelievable and in a draft class that's really not
- 10:22Speaker 5: very good. So you needed, we needed and we don't
- 10:24Speaker 5: need a quarterback obviously, which is great. We're in great
- 10:26Speaker 5: position number one pick. We can trade it and load
- 10:30Speaker 5: up because somebody's gonna be desperate for Sanders or cam Ward,
- 10:32Speaker 5: whoever it is, and we go and win.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So five six now four four now yeah, three pick, yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: four four. Whoa from one to four? So Titans are
- 10:44Speaker 1: one Titans, Browns Giants, Browns Giants, Patriots.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yep, Titans need a quarterback.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, tights and everything. Yeah, defensively they're okay in a
- 10:52Speaker 1: couple of places, but they don't have they have they
- 10:55Speaker 1: have a couple of these alignment.
- 10:56Speaker 3: What quarterback would you take? Cam should here?
- 11:01Speaker 5: What you do or Clumber? You think?
- 11:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Shoulder is very Joe
- 11:06Speaker 1: Burrow like and and how he plays pretty mobile, but
- 11:13Speaker 1: not a guy who's gonna run the ball a He's not.
- 11:15Speaker 1: He's not a Lamar Jackson. He's not a Josh Allen's mobile.
- 11:18Speaker 1: He's big, he runs through things more than around things.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Great arm competitor. I mean, probably should over. I don't
- 11:30Speaker 1: trust cam Ward.
- 11:31Speaker 5: I don't either. I think everything he does in college
- 11:33Speaker 5: there's no way that works in the NFL. Caleb Williams
- 11:36Speaker 5: can't do it. There's no way cam wardon do it.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Also, who cares what I trust? Because I know nothing
- 11:41Speaker 1: except I watched games and talk to people who at
- 11:44Speaker 1: times are involved in it. But I'm not ere acting
- 11:46Speaker 1: like I'm an expert. But I mean, I would they
- 11:48Speaker 1: have to have a quarterback. They could trade They could
- 11:51Speaker 1: trade that pick and get a quarterback, Like do you
- 11:56Speaker 1: go and trade it for a three or four and
- 12:00Speaker 1: can get a Cousins, you know, as it's kind of
- 12:02Speaker 1: a stop gap for a couple. I mean, because obviously
- 12:05Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins was hurt a lot of this year. I
- 12:08Speaker 1: don't think what we saw the bad version of Kirk Cousins.
- 12:10Speaker 1: We saw was the healthy version of Kirk Cousins. They
- 12:13Speaker 1: pay him one hundred million bucks or over the whole,
- 12:15Speaker 1: and he's not gonna get all that, Yeah, and they're
- 12:17Speaker 1: gonna cut him before March, I think, to save a
- 12:21Speaker 1: bit of money. But they could trade that and take
- 12:24Speaker 1: a haul and and if you're missing a lot of
- 12:27Speaker 1: parts and you're not trying to win right away, okay,
- 12:31Speaker 1: but if you don't have a quarterback and a coach,
- 12:33Speaker 1: you're not gonna win. Yeah, like period. So I guess
- 12:35Speaker 1: it's just what the Titans want to do. The Titans
- 12:37Speaker 1: colors are slow, though, just the baby blue, the blues,
- 12:40Speaker 1: it's a slow color. It doesn't.
- 12:44Speaker 3: The oilers is cool.
- 12:45Speaker 1: It still looks slow. Those colors are slow colors.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Earl Campbell was not slow, but he wasn't he's big.
- 12:52Speaker 1: You're not making sense because he's.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Not true he was fast.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You're talking about Chris Johnson was fast.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Oh, I'm talking about the Oilers, the Blue guys.
- 12:59Speaker 1: True Hill, Yes, Singer.
- 13:01Speaker 3: No, No, he was a receiver for the Oilers back
- 13:03Speaker 3: in the day. I think, I think.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I don't I could. I don't know. They could trade
- 13:10Speaker 1: that and get a Cousins if they trade for Cousins
- 13:14Speaker 1: before or who else? Who else would even be on
- 13:17Speaker 1: the market.
- 13:18Speaker 5: It depends what Minnesota does. Obviously with Sam Darnold.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Too great call there because they're gonna have to retign.
- 13:24Speaker 5: The Steelers, Russell Wilson, justin Fields.
- 13:26Speaker 7: That's another one.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Anybody going through quarterback rehab right now, meaning the Baker
- 13:32Speaker 1: Mayfield or the Sam Donald because it's like like at
- 13:35Speaker 1: Trubisky's a backup forever now, like he did his little
- 13:37Speaker 1: He's a backup forever.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Yeah, and then even Carson wentz he had a shot
- 13:41Speaker 5: and it was god awful.
- 13:43Speaker 3: What about menschhew he's down to.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Like all those guys the menshees aid and O'Connell, like,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I can't think of anybody else going through quarterback rehab.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Oh you know, but they're not gonna trade him out
- 13:53Speaker 1: because he's actually good again as Bryce Young.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Yeah, he played great yesterday.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They lost a couple of games in the six. But
- 14:00Speaker 1: he's like, he looks like the real deal. And I
- 14:02Speaker 1: know I'm biased because I like Bryce Young a lot
- 14:04Speaker 1: and I've stood by him. Him and bone Nick's been
- 14:05Speaker 1: my guys. But everybody else is like, you're an idiot.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I'm like, I know, but still I like bo Nicks
- 14:09Speaker 1: and I like Bryce Young.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I like Bryce Young smiling after he scores a touchdown, Like,
- 14:13Speaker 3: did you guys see that?
- 14:15Speaker 1: He was so nice?
- 14:16Speaker 3: He's so nice.
- 14:17Speaker 1: We spent time with even so nice. Okay, I guess
- 14:19Speaker 1: somebody to tell you guys, sadly, Casey, this doesn't involve you,
- 14:22Speaker 1: since you're the newest person.
- 14:24Speaker 5: No, sorry, we've all been there, dude.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I know you're the newest, but I I've been waiting
- 14:32Speaker 1: to tell you guys this. But I have a Super
- 14:36Speaker 1: Bowl tickets. No way, no way, here's the thing.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Oh it's a caveat only one of you could go.
- 14:48Speaker 1: No, no, figure it out. No, I'm out twenty thirty five.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I do have us super Bowl tickets in New Orleans
- 14:58Speaker 1: coming up February ninth. But oh no, no, no, no,
- 15:03Speaker 1: that's not the.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Okay, okay, just make it serious.
- 15:08Speaker 1: So read my Kevin Eddie myself. That's five. I have
- 15:13Speaker 1: four tickets.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Oh you need a camera?
- 15:22Speaker 1: I guess you could. Well. The thing is again, the
- 15:27Speaker 1: plan is to go down. Well I know the plan
- 15:31Speaker 1: is to go down, and we're going to do the
- 15:33Speaker 1: media stuff on Thursday and Friday with all the players
- 15:36Speaker 1: coming through all that.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Lah la la, that's cool.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But I have four tickets.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Are five people, so more people can go. Only four
- 15:46Speaker 3: people can go to the game.
- 15:48Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying to the And I don't have
- 15:53Speaker 1: a solution, and I'm not This is not a joke.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I have a bet. There's not a bit yet.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Yeah there will be a.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, have to be a bit. But what I would
- 16:04Speaker 1: here's the promise that I would like to hear from
- 16:08Speaker 1: because I'm going. There's no chance I'm not going.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Okay, so you're out of the question.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Because I got the tickets and I don't even know
- 16:15Speaker 1: how good they are. It doesn't matter if you've never
- 16:17Speaker 1: been to super Bowls. It's funn to Goe've never been
- 16:18Speaker 1: to super Bowls in New Orleans so it's not cold.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Who's been to a super Bowl?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Only me? Probably?
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely not mean.
- 16:26Speaker 1: What I want you to do, and please do not
- 16:27Speaker 1: talk to each other about it. I want you to
- 16:29Speaker 1: pick who you think should not get the ticket, and
- 16:31Speaker 1: we're going to do that on the show later this week.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You're going to talk and talk it out.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I mean, I'm ready to go now.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Oh really, come on, okay, because you always pick on me,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm happy. I didn't think about that. It's like Read's
- 16:53Speaker 1: talking himself down.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I didn't think about that.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Oh my god, you Okay, hold on, Kevin, who do
- 17:01Speaker 1: you think should not get the This is I want
- 17:04Speaker 1: to say one more time. I do not have a
- 17:05Speaker 1: fifth ticket. I'm not coming out of my pocket with
- 17:08Speaker 1: a fifth ticket the end. So this is not a
- 17:11Speaker 1: thing where I'm like just kidding, there's not a fifth ticket, Kevin.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Of you four who should not get the ticket?
- 17:19Speaker 5: Well, I did think about Read for a second, but
- 17:23Speaker 5: I gotta go with Eddie. I think, listen, listen, Eddie,
- 17:31Speaker 5: and you know you deserve everything you've ever gotten with Bobby.
- 17:34Speaker 5: But you do everything with Bobby right and rightfully, so
- 17:38Speaker 5: the right hand man to Bobby, and I just think,
- 17:41Speaker 5: uh and Read, he's got to go out with a
- 17:43Speaker 5: bang here. He's going out in a few months.
- 17:46Speaker 3: So charity, I guess, you know.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Penalizing you because I feel you're talented and and you're
- 17:53Speaker 1: performing has nothing to do with that is at a
- 17:55Speaker 1: level that I feel like it also elevates my level.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Like he's jealousy hating on you.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yes, man, and like now he wants to throw a
- 18:02Speaker 3: bone to Read because he's quitting, Like he's quit. You're
- 18:05Speaker 3: forgetting that Read is quitting.
- 18:06Speaker 1: It's an interesting strategy though, to go in and put
- 18:08Speaker 1: people up that he doesn't think should be Well, you're
- 18:09Speaker 1: only one of the ones left on the chopping block,
- 18:12Speaker 1: so you're you're putting Eddie on the chop you think
- 18:14Speaker 1: Eddie should not be able to go to the game's
- 18:16Speaker 1: because you're gonna have to go. Everyone's going. We're going
- 18:18Speaker 1: to New Orleans because I got a whole thing. We're
- 18:20Speaker 1: gonna do it. I got a bus. We're doing a
- 18:21Speaker 1: whole thing.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, that sounds like so much fun.
- 18:23Speaker 1: It's gonna be awesome because you and I are gonna do
- 18:25Speaker 1: a couple DGI Gadi shows on the way down. Oh
- 18:27Speaker 1: my goodness for like markets I've turned it.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Can I change my mind?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Though I know I'm having to pay for the whole thing,
- 18:34Speaker 1: which sucks. Just everybody night, thank you. But we're gonna
- 18:38Speaker 1: do a couple of stops because some local markets have
- 18:40Speaker 1: been crying that we're not there. But we don't go
- 18:42Speaker 1: anywhere right now. But I'm like, we'll take a bus.
- 18:44Speaker 1: We'll do podcasts on the way down. Stop and do
- 18:46Speaker 1: we have a friend of ours who plays music who's
- 18:48Speaker 1: also going to go with this on the bus but
- 18:50Speaker 1: not going to the game. I don't have ticket for them.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I literally don't have a ticket for them.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I don't know whoever's not going to the game in
- 18:57Speaker 3: this room can hang out of that person with that
- 18:59Speaker 3: artist have fun.
- 19:00Speaker 6: And I want to know who I want to hang
- 19:02Speaker 6: out with.
- 19:04Speaker 1: It's I wouldn't allow it if I wasn't somebody that
- 19:06Speaker 1: we were close to. I'll say it's not George, not George.
- 19:08Speaker 1: That would be answer, because we're super fluch for George.
- 19:11Speaker 1: It's not George, but it is somebody that I feel
- 19:13Speaker 1: comfortable enough being on a bus for two or three
- 19:15Speaker 1: days with Garth. Yeah, that makes sense, okay, So Kevin
- 19:21Speaker 1: picks Eddie, Eddie.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I mean it's easy. Now. I had an answer, don't do,
- 19:25Speaker 3: don't do.
- 19:25Speaker 5: But that's not why not.
- 19:27Speaker 1: No, you need to thought.
- 19:30Speaker 3: No, I can't pick Kevin now because he's such a
- 19:31Speaker 3: jerky pick what you thought?
- 19:32Speaker 1: Initially?
- 19:34Speaker 3: Initially I had to read uh, and I had to
- 19:37Speaker 3: read because he is leaving us. He's quitting, so so
- 19:42Speaker 3: why would we care like his sadness?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Weren't gonna be around it.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yes, that's fair, that's simple.
- 19:49Speaker 1: That's the whole fight. That's it. Mike. I will say
- 19:53Speaker 1: that everybody here deserves to go.
- 19:55Speaker 3: It's hard to pick someone, Mike, just say.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Being in my position, I'll just say me, wow.
- 20:01Speaker 3: No, Mike, you're not understanding of the game.
- 20:04Speaker 6: It's funny.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I was gonna say me, no, you weren't. It was
- 20:09Speaker 1: it was you know, kings as King Solomon said you
- 20:13Speaker 1: both get to go now because you picked yourself. Yeah,
- 20:15Speaker 1: just kidding, right, Mike, Mike, you're really like going, you're
- 20:20Speaker 1: punting the ticket. No, I would love to go. Okay,
- 20:22Speaker 1: then you're in. Pick somebody else. Okay, I'll go read I.
- 20:26Speaker 5: Don't go, Mike.
- 20:31Speaker 8: First.
- 20:32Speaker 1: No, it's a cool experience I want. Okay, here's what
- 20:34Speaker 1: I want?
- 20:35Speaker 3: Read?
- 20:35Speaker 1: Who are you going to pick? I was going to
- 20:36Speaker 1: pick myself, I swear, Okay, but you can't pick yourself.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It's like Mike couldn't pick himself. So pick who el
- 20:41Speaker 1: would you pick? Not you?
- 20:42Speaker 6: Well, then I would only just pick Mike because he
- 20:45Speaker 6: likes going home.
- 20:45Speaker 1: And but no one's going home.
- 20:47Speaker 6: I know, but I mean usually on trips like Mike,
- 20:49Speaker 6: Mike usually doesn't stay out and you know, go do
- 20:53Speaker 6: things we do.
- 20:54Speaker 7: What are we doing like going home?
- 20:56Speaker 1: Like the super Bowl? I'm saying I don't have an answer. Okay,
- 21:02Speaker 1: so I don't have an answer either.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I think we got our answer. Read picked themselves.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Nobody picked.
- 21:08Speaker 3: I had Kevin, but original.
- 21:11Speaker 1: No, you're originally you didn't have Kevin.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Kevin?
- 21:13Speaker 1: Was you picked when you got pissed?
- 21:15Speaker 3: Yeah, stupid me.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I have no conclusion. We're going to have to do
- 21:20Speaker 1: something that is fair and probably like drawing or something.
- 21:24Speaker 1: This is crazy, like some game of skill or something.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I don't even want to do that because because some
- 21:31Speaker 1: people have an advantage.
- 21:32Speaker 3: It's still.
- 21:35Speaker 6: Think about this though, I will probably never get to
- 21:37Speaker 6: go to a Super Bowl in my entire life because
- 21:39Speaker 6: I will never purchase tickets because I don't watch.
- 21:41Speaker 3: You know that none of us would purchase tickets like
- 21:44Speaker 3: I don't know you might, I don't think.
- 21:45Speaker 1: So what I'm going to think about and considered because
- 21:49Speaker 1: I don't want anybody to back themselves out, because all
- 21:52Speaker 1: four of you guys deserve to go.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Thank you man, sweet of you, thank you.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I'm going to come up with some sort of game
- 22:01Speaker 1: or challenge.
- 22:04Speaker 3: It better not be pickleball.
- 22:05Speaker 1: No, no, no, it's fair for everyone. Probably a game
- 22:07Speaker 1: of chance, some game of chance, or like operate game
- 22:12Speaker 1: or like yes somebody or like operation or something right
- 22:18Speaker 1: like a or something. But I'm going to say this
- 22:21Speaker 1: one more time. I do not have a fifth ticket.
- 22:23Speaker 1: This is not a bit. I got up. I got
- 22:26Speaker 1: four tickets.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Okay, this is crazy.
- 22:30Speaker 1: So four of us will be in the super Bowl.
- 22:34Speaker 1: That's all dables. Back in with the Giants. See that
- 22:38Speaker 1: every hard, I mean, they kept them on. Nobody even cares.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Who cares? It's funny because like every season, there's a
- 22:46Speaker 3: team I just forget about that even exists, and for
- 22:48Speaker 3: this year is definitely the Giants. Like I haven't watched
- 22:50Speaker 3: one Giants game, don't care about much.
- 22:53Speaker 1: So yeah, I need to mark off my Eddie thinks
- 22:56Speaker 1: his high school teacher wanted to have sex with him.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I can't notes everything I want to talk talk about.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I watched the murder of Air McNair. Have you guys
- 23:04Speaker 1: watched that?
- 23:04Speaker 3: What's that? What's that?
- 23:05Speaker 1: On Netflix?
- 23:06Speaker 4: You have?
- 23:06Speaker 1: You have watched it?
- 23:07Speaker 3: I mean I've watched documentaries on it, specifically, it's part
- 23:11Speaker 3: of that series.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Yeah, the Untold Untold.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Yeah you watch it.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I watched it a few months ago.
- 23:17Speaker 3: I've watched it.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Watched Mike, you watch it, Reid? Okay, well you're not
- 23:21Speaker 1: going to super Bowl. That was the.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Casey.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So Steve McNair played quarterback for al Corn State. Titans
- 23:30Speaker 1: drafted him third overall. I believe third or fourth overall.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Came was a really good Titans quarterback, made it to
- 23:35Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, a couple AFC Championships, was murdered after
- 23:39Speaker 1: he retired. Turns out he had and you guys can
- 23:43Speaker 1: correct me if I'm messing this up, he had like
- 23:46Speaker 1: an apartment that he was out of renting or own
- 23:48Speaker 1: that he would like have chicks.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Right down the road the part and so then and
- 23:53Speaker 7: one of them was a little cuckoo.
- 23:54Speaker 1: He gets murdered.
- 23:56Speaker 3: It was a mistress.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Do you say that I'm in the middle speaking, I
- 23:59Speaker 1: s's about it, So no, I haven't said it yet,
- 24:03Speaker 1: but it was It wasn't a sentence that I was currently.
- 24:06Speaker 3: I thought you may have skipped over.
- 24:07Speaker 1: He was murdered, and when they came in to find
- 24:09Speaker 1: his body, they also found the body of a woman
- 24:10Speaker 1: with him. Turns out as woman he was dating. But
- 24:12Speaker 1: then there was all this drama between her and him
- 24:15Speaker 1: up before that, and so it looked like a murder suicide,
- 24:20Speaker 1: meaning she killed him, then she killed herself. But during
- 24:23Speaker 1: this documentary, that dude they got him the gun, there's
- 24:26Speaker 1: something happened.
- 24:27Speaker 3: That's not that something happened.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think she did it. And
- 24:31Speaker 1: documentaries can sway you money.
- 24:34Speaker 7: And then something happened.
- 24:35Speaker 1: And then I've seen too many movies to where they
- 24:37Speaker 1: put the gun at someone's head and make them shoot
- 24:39Speaker 1: theirselves in the head. Mm hmm, like where they're like, okay, well,
- 24:42Speaker 1: what's the stages You put the gun in their hand,
- 24:45Speaker 1: they're like drugged and you make them shoot something. That
- 24:48Speaker 1: the dude lied to the cops about the guy. He's like,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I know she was. He told her the gun, and
- 24:55Speaker 1: the cops are like, well you lied to it. He goes,
- 24:56Speaker 1: we have my fiance was next time. I couldn't say
- 24:57Speaker 1: the truth.
- 25:00Speaker 5: The thing is they didn't go from what I remember,
- 25:01Speaker 5: they didn't really go much further into that, did they.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I don't think that they went much further into it
- 25:06Speaker 1: back then. So there's not a lot to go on
- 25:08Speaker 1: unless you're investigating it now. I don't think it happened
- 25:11Speaker 1: like we were told it always happened. That's too shady
- 25:14Speaker 1: where some dude just happens to sell a gun lies
- 25:16Speaker 1: to the cops about it. Got all he was went
- 25:19Speaker 1: to jail for, like maybe.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Murder something else.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Right assault?
- 25:22Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah they talk about David Busters at
- 25:25Speaker 3: all on this one.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we're sure David Busters. Ye's time I met
- 25:28Speaker 1: all the players were going.
- 25:28Speaker 3: It's crazy because like now, my kids they have birthday
- 25:31Speaker 3: parties at David Busters and every time I go in there,
- 25:33Speaker 3: I look at that bar, I'm like, that's crazy. McNair
- 25:35Speaker 3: was right there like his chick right here. So the
- 25:38Speaker 3: boyfriend that killed them, well.
- 25:41Speaker 1: We'll call her the murder We don't know. I think
- 25:43Speaker 1: officially she's the one that murdered them. According to the
- 25:46Speaker 1: police reporter. Sure yeah, so we'll say her although there's something.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Up there, but it's a close case, right, yeah.
- 25:53Speaker 1: But things can be reopen. I've seen enough CSI.
- 25:56Speaker 3: They pulled the thing in the box out of the
- 25:58Speaker 3: you know.
- 25:59Speaker 1: So what what was funny was this dude's talking on
- 26:02Speaker 1: He's like, man, now it's the biggest Titans fan. He goes,
- 26:04Speaker 1: I'm my favorite players. He goes get autographs. I didn't
- 26:07Speaker 1: miss it when the Titans came to Nashville. His girl
- 26:12Speaker 1: is her, and all of a sudden, he's like, we
- 26:16Speaker 1: broke up. We were still living together because we couldn't
- 26:18Speaker 1: afford rent, and all of a sudden, she was my
- 26:20Speaker 1: favorite player.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Oh weird.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And he's like, how almost like my favorite player,
- 26:24Speaker 1: And you're then you start to kind of feel bad
- 26:25Speaker 1: for him, and you should feel bad for him because
- 26:28Speaker 1: like his girl and she's dead and she killed him
- 26:31Speaker 1: and her. But mostly I'm like, yeah, that suck. If
- 26:34Speaker 1: your ex was with like your favorite wrestler, your favorite
- 26:36Speaker 1: ball player, like you didn't even like him.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Like cowboy, Yeah, my wife, Like like.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Your wife and dak are together.
- 26:44Speaker 3: That's the weird.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I started struggling with it.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Then you can't even like watch the team. Everything reminds
- 26:49Speaker 5: you of it.
- 26:50Speaker 1: And didn't it look like a different and it was
- 26:51Speaker 1: a different Nashville. But the Nashville when the Titans moving
- 26:55Speaker 1: town looked like Mountain Pine.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Yeah, not much, going to nothing?
- 26:58Speaker 1: Yeah nothing. So you should watch it. Though it's not long.
- 27:01Speaker 1: It's like fifty minutes.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not long at all.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Murder of Aaron McNair. I believe that's what it's called.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Super Bowl odds are out. I let's take a break.
- 27:09Speaker 1: We'll come back. Mike can take a break real quick.
- 27:10Speaker 1: We do have Brandon, we do super Bowl odds. All that,
- 27:13Speaker 1: all right? First, let's do this. Do you have a
- 27:17Speaker 1: spot to read?
- 27:18Speaker 5: There's just a pick six?
- 27:19Speaker 3: Cool?
- 27:21Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about pick six. Oh you played it.
- 27:23Speaker 1: You had to Texas and played.
- 27:24Speaker 3: This is awesome, man, it's the most fun because what
- 27:25Speaker 3: happens when I leave Nashville and I go on like
- 27:27Speaker 3: on vacation or whatever. I try to get all my
- 27:29Speaker 3: bets out of the way, you know, And there were
- 27:31Speaker 3: just obviously too many NFL bets that I could not
- 27:33Speaker 3: make when I left.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Because our state allows DraftKings. Correct, Texas does not.
- 27:38Speaker 3: So when I realized I was down in Texas and
- 27:40Speaker 3: I can play pick six, let's go, baby, it was awesome. Dude.
- 27:44Speaker 3: You can even do kickers on pick six.
- 27:46Speaker 1: A lot of states that you can't do normal DraftKings.
- 27:50Speaker 1: You can do pick sick, which is and I can't
- 27:52Speaker 1: really say anything more than that. Yeah, thank god it's
- 27:55Speaker 1: in Texas.
- 27:55Speaker 3: You did it. It was awesome.
- 27:57Speaker 1: So so you pick play and then you picked it
- 28:01Speaker 1: over and under. On stats you.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Can do as little as two players, or you can
- 28:04Speaker 3: do ten players. The more players you do, the more
- 28:07Speaker 3: money you get.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Obviously, you can do passing yards over under, starting.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Out, rushing yards or receptions, interceptions, sacks, field goals made,
- 28:14Speaker 3: if field goals attempted. Dude, it is awesome.
- 28:17Speaker 1: So if you are a listener and you're like, oh,
- 28:19Speaker 1: I can't ever do DraftKings and do the bets they

- 28:24Speaker 1: go download the pick six app.
- 28:25Speaker 5: Yeah, did you ever feel more confident in that than
- 28:27Speaker 5: you do like a line or something. I feel like
- 28:29Speaker 5: i'd be like, oh, so and SO is gonna get
- 28:31Speaker 5: receptions for sure, compared to like, oh, I don't know
- 28:33Speaker 5: they're gonna win this game.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I felt so confident every single time I placed bets.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Nice I didn't win much, but I felt confident.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Oh dude, I'm I'll tell you the minute. Let me
- 28:42Speaker 1: finish this download. The new DraftKings Pick six app used

- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes you get on a heater and like, it
- 29:16Speaker 1: doesn't matter the game, it doesn't matter the spread, it
- 29:19Speaker 1: doesn't matter the player. You're just like, I am so confident.
- 29:24Speaker 1: It's rare. But sometimes you get on that heater and
- 29:28Speaker 1: I tend to not believe that my heat's gonna last,
- 29:33Speaker 1: So then I start to get a little timid. But
- 29:36Speaker 1: you just on it and everything wins. Rare that is
- 29:42Speaker 1: exactly the opposite. What's happened to me? Like I've been
- 29:47Speaker 1: in the freaking freezer this month because all my DraftKings.
- 29:50Speaker 1: You now look and see. My favorite thing is what
- 29:52Speaker 1: they call the stat sheet. This month, dude, it's the seventh,
- 29:57Speaker 1: it's the sixth, it's the sixth. This month, I'm negative
- 30:01Speaker 1: four thousand and ninety nine dollars. I've missed. I've missed
- 30:07Speaker 1: every game. I've missed it, which is literally not true
- 30:11Speaker 1: because I've wagered five thousand, hundred and forty six and
- 30:15Speaker 1: one nine forty six. But I'm telling you, I call
- 30:21Speaker 1: coach for kids because I need some sort of charity
- 30:24Speaker 1: because I am. I'm frozen.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Are you used all kinds? Live better?
- 30:28Speaker 1: Let it go, Let it go frozen. Somebody get a
- 30:33Speaker 1: chip ding ding ding chip me out of this thing.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Uh yeah, no, dude, I've tried everything O kind and
- 30:39Speaker 1: so I just don't know what. I don't know what's up.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I don't know what to do except just say saying
- 30:45Speaker 1: the game.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I was gonna say, okay, I'll say it, take a break,
- 30:46Speaker 3: but okay.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I bet that, And I'm like, you know what, I
- 30:51Speaker 1: can't be that frozen. Yesterday it was the Chiefs minus
- 30:54Speaker 1: ten and a half, and I thought maybe the Chiefs
- 30:55Speaker 1: with it's not like their quarterback doesn't have any starting experience.
- 30:59Speaker 1: And I know Chris Jones was out and most of
- 31:02Speaker 1: those guys, but I was like, they're playing the Broncos.
- 31:05Speaker 1: About five hundred team, Chiefs were plus ten and a half.
- 31:09Speaker 1: About a thousand bucks, Chiefs plus ten and a half.
- 31:11Speaker 1: First quarter. I was like, let it go, let it go.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I'm begging for a coat. Is a dude was awful.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Every college football playoff game, big losses, all the way around.
- 31:20Speaker 1: It's been terrible. So when people like, oh, you only
- 31:24Speaker 1: talk about your ones, No, I don't. I've had pretty
- 31:26Speaker 1: successful runs in the past six months. Don't get near
- 31:32Speaker 1: me in case I'm contagious, because it's going around. There's flu,
- 31:35Speaker 1: there's neurovirus, there's covid, and then there's what I have
- 31:39Speaker 1: right now, and I'm going to affect you. That's roughs.
- 31:43Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what I pick, I lose. I even
- 31:47Speaker 1: reversed myself on a game yesterday. I bet two hundred
- 31:51Speaker 1: and fifty bucks. It was the Cowboys plus two and
- 31:53Speaker 1: a half and they were winning, and I was like,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I've never bet on the Cowboys playing the Commanders because whatever.
- 31:58Speaker 1: So I said, so I'm gonna bet on the Cowboys.
- 32:00Speaker 1: They lost by four. I couldn't even reverse my reverse.
- 32:03Speaker 3: I lost on that one too. It's reason in here.
- 32:07Speaker 3: It's freezing.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Read's been sick. Read sitting by himself. He's like, oh,
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm good man, I know, I know. I got really
- 32:13Speaker 1: sick on Friday, vomiting. Yeah, And so I was like, hey, man,
- 32:17Speaker 1: you know got to come in. He said, no, I'm
- 32:19Speaker 1: all good. I've not heard of a virus that's all
- 32:21Speaker 1: out of you by Monday. No, yeah, it's probably wouts. Yeah,
- 32:25Speaker 1: I think you shouldn't want to get you.
- 32:27Speaker 5: Guys, probably all the way to February ninth.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 7: Wow.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Kevin's like, February tenth, come back. So okay. So there's that.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I just wanted to make sure we all knew what
- 32:38Speaker 1: was up. We're gonna talk to. Brandon Marcelo now writes
- 32:40Speaker 1: for twenty four seven Sports. Check out his articles twenty
- 32:44Speaker 1: four seven dot com. Follow him at Brandon Marcelo. He
- 32:46Speaker 1: is the college football guy. And how why I restate
- 32:50Speaker 1: because then you'll hear early in this I'm like, hey,
- 32:52Speaker 1: we're here to Brandon Marcelo. I think a lot of people,
- 32:55Speaker 1: not so much Brandon because he knows me, but it
- 32:57Speaker 1: did happen here. I think a lot of people don't
- 32:59Speaker 1: really we're doing the interview because I talked the same
- 33:01Speaker 1: in real life as I do in the interview. We've
- 33:04Speaker 1: had coaches that have been like pretty vulgar, not mean,
- 33:07Speaker 1: but like in saying like hilarious stuff, and then we realized, oh,
- 33:11Speaker 1: they didn't know they were doing the interview yet. And
- 33:14Speaker 1: so Brandon comes on and you can leave all the intro,
- 33:17Speaker 1: the beginning stuff only after it. But I say, hey,
- 33:19Speaker 1: Brandon Marcelo, so he knows that we're in official because
- 33:23Speaker 1: I just think people hear me talk and they're like, oh,
- 33:25Speaker 1: the interviews'm going he's talking like a normal human and
- 33:27Speaker 1: not even that well. So that's why, Yeah, that's why
- 33:31Speaker 1: I say, hey, we're Brandon Marcelo. But we talked about
- 33:34Speaker 1: a lot of New Orleans stuff. So we're gonna do this,
- 33:36Speaker 1: so Brandon and we'll come back after this. Hey Brandon.
- 33:38Speaker 1: In the last couple of weeks, it seems like you
- 33:40Speaker 1: were in a lot of different places. Where did you
- 33:42Speaker 1: go to games.
- 33:44Speaker 4: This past week? I went down to New Orleans for
- 33:47Speaker 4: the Sugar Bowl. I was there for a few days,
- 33:50Speaker 4: a couple of days longer than I thought it was
- 33:52Speaker 4: going to be.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Oh, because of the guy that the terrorists that drove
- 33:56Speaker 1: into the truck.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I was actually on new duty that day.
- 34:00Speaker 4: As a result of that, I had to go down
- 34:02Speaker 4: and go cover that head go to police headquarters and everything.
- 34:05Speaker 4: So a little bit of an old wild wild situation.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Uh okay, Brandon Marcelo was on with us. Were you
- 34:12Speaker 1: talk about that for a second?
- 34:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I I woke. I was playing on
- 34:18Speaker 4: sleeping in that morning, you know, I think like a
- 34:21Speaker 4: lot of people in New Orleans, and I got a
- 34:23Speaker 4: call from my boss asking if I was okay. It
- 34:25Speaker 4: woke me up, and I was like yeah. I immediately
- 34:28Speaker 4: thought he was thinking, like, Brandon must be drunk. He's
- 34:31Speaker 4: like so I thought I thought he was asking me
- 34:33Speaker 4: if I was hungover, But no, he's like, no, are
- 34:35Speaker 4: you okay? There was a terrorist attack in New Orleans
- 34:37Speaker 4: last night. And immediately shot out of bed and like
- 34:40Speaker 4: ran over to my window because I didn't know what
- 34:42Speaker 4: that meant. And then he filled me on the details,
- 34:44Speaker 4: and you know, he said you know, you know, you
- 34:48Speaker 4: don't really need to go out and go cover that,
- 34:50Speaker 4: so to speak, but you know, look into the game,
- 34:52Speaker 4: see if the game is still going on. Everything. So
- 34:54Speaker 4: I got up, went down for breakfast, and found out
- 34:57Speaker 4: there was going to be like a press conference at
- 34:58Speaker 4: the police head So I just said, you know, screw it,
- 35:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna go down there. Went down there, did some reporting,
- 35:04Speaker 4: ran into a congressman, ran into the sheriff of Orleans Parish,
- 35:08Speaker 4: and then we had a press conference, I think at
- 35:09Speaker 4: one o'clock. But during that time, a lot of information
- 35:12Speaker 4: was starting to leak about the game. But it was
- 35:14Speaker 4: gonna be played. It was gonna be delayed, and it
- 35:17Speaker 4: was a weird scene just because it was the FBI
- 35:20Speaker 4: was there, Homeland Security was there, obviously, the police force
- 35:24Speaker 4: was there. About four hundred police officers were on the
- 35:26Speaker 4: streets at that point. The place was just crawling with
- 35:29Speaker 4: uniformed officers.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they delayed the game, which obviously was
- 35:35Speaker 1: not the most important part of that day, but still
- 35:39Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of moving parts, right, And
- 35:42Speaker 1: I would think it may even be easier to delay
- 35:44Speaker 1: it a week than a day, Like I don't know,
- 35:46Speaker 1: you were you were a part of that situation, Like
- 35:49Speaker 1: when did they make that decision and what did they
- 35:53Speaker 1: do differently in that one day time? Did they like
- 35:56Speaker 1: bring in people to make it more secure.
- 35:58Speaker 4: Yeah, so I guess about like seven and a half
- 36:01Speaker 4: eight hours before the game was supposed to kick off,
- 36:02Speaker 4: they made the decision to delay it one game one day,
- 36:06Speaker 4: and they still hadn't set a time. They just said
- 36:08Speaker 4: twenty four hours, and so at that point that started
- 36:12Speaker 4: leaking and then they finally confirmed it right after one
- 36:14Speaker 4: o'clock local time, and you know a lot of fans
- 36:18Speaker 4: were scheduled to leave that next day fly out and everything,
- 36:22Speaker 4: so a lot of fans did leave. The attendance for
- 36:25Speaker 4: the game only ended up being fifty seven thousand something
- 36:28Speaker 4: and change, and the capacity there as well, over seventy thousand.
- 36:31Speaker 4: It was still a great atmosphere, but a lot of
- 36:33Speaker 4: people just had to go home because of travel. Interestingly,
- 36:37Speaker 4: all the airlines decided to refund tickets or whatever, give
- 36:41Speaker 4: them travel credits for free, no cancelation fees if they
- 36:43Speaker 4: had to do anything out of New Orleans. So a
- 36:46Speaker 4: lot of fans were able to stay as results of that,
- 36:48Speaker 4: just financially. But I talked to several families and stuff
- 36:52Speaker 4: at Team hotels about it, and some of them just
- 36:55Speaker 4: didn't feel like safe staying there. But it was incredible
- 37:00Speaker 4: just how much more security was in that in that city,
- 37:04Speaker 4: you know, less than twelve hours after that attack happened.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I mean Canal Street, which is where I was staying on,
- 37:09Speaker 4: which is right off Bourbon Street. I was about eleven
- 37:11Speaker 4: hundred feet away from where the attack happened. It was
- 37:15Speaker 4: just you couldn't get anywhere without seeing a police officer
- 37:19Speaker 4: about every two seconds in your field of view, and
- 37:22Speaker 4: sirens are going off everywhere. And I guess what was
- 37:25Speaker 4: so really really crazy about all of the such a
- 37:28Speaker 4: tragic situation, obviously just terrible, was that, you know, in
- 37:33Speaker 4: the morning hours, they were telling everybody to stay indoors
- 37:35Speaker 4: because they were still sweeping the city for explosives. They
- 37:38Speaker 4: didn't know if there were other explosives in the city,
- 37:40Speaker 4: and so they were telling anybody to stay in And meanwhile,
- 37:43Speaker 4: I left my hotel room obviously to go to that
- 37:45Speaker 4: press conference, and you know, there was a lot of
- 37:47Speaker 4: people just walking around the streets like it was a
- 37:49Speaker 4: normal day, and you know, that's just New Orleans for
- 37:51Speaker 4: you just can't slow people down there, whether tourists or locals.
- 37:55Speaker 4: But you know that I can't imagine the pain and
- 37:59Speaker 4: everybody's going through in that city because it's so resilient anyway,
- 38:02Speaker 4: that's kind of in its DNA. It's New Orleans, it's
- 38:05Speaker 4: a Crescent city, it's a big easy you know, it's
- 38:08Speaker 4: party all the time. You know, it never sleeps. But
- 38:11Speaker 4: you could tell, like later that afternoon when everything started
- 38:14Speaker 4: settling in, people were kind of shaking up a little
- 38:17Speaker 4: bit about it. Not as many people on the streets
- 38:19Speaker 4: as you would expect.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Did they do anything security at the game or they're
- 38:22Speaker 1: like metal detectors or anything. When you got there. That again,
- 38:24Speaker 1: because I only had a day. That's why I thought
- 38:26Speaker 1: it would be harder to get it flipped over in
- 38:28Speaker 1: a day than a couple of days or even more
- 38:30Speaker 1: than that. What about when you got there.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Yeah, they they up security. I mean they had a
- 38:34Speaker 4: lot more officers there. The I mean I saw Homeland
- 38:37Speaker 4: Security there. I saw FBI agents there, special agents with
- 38:40Speaker 4: Homeland Security, and then of course the police force. They
- 38:43Speaker 4: had bomb dogs outside sniffing every vehicle that was parking
- 38:47Speaker 4: in the parking garage as well. As any team buses
- 38:50Speaker 4: or even media buses that were coming up, so we
- 38:52Speaker 4: had to like stand on the bus for about five
- 38:53Speaker 4: minutes as the dog was going around metal detectors at
- 38:57Speaker 4: the entrances. Nothing like too out of the ordinary as
- 39:03Speaker 4: far as like just going through the entrances, because if
- 39:05Speaker 4: you go to games now anywhere really and everybody knows this,
- 39:08Speaker 4: it's like security is pretty amped up anyway, with metal
- 39:10Speaker 4: detectors and people, you know, all that stuff, so you know,
- 39:13Speaker 4: for the media, it took us maybe five minutes to
- 39:16Speaker 4: get through security, which wasn't too outrageous, but it was
- 39:19Speaker 4: a very good thing to see, especially the canine officers.
- 39:23Speaker 4: And then when you walk through the stadium, I mean
- 39:25Speaker 4: it was I don't know how many law enforcement were there,
- 39:29Speaker 4: but it was substantial because I've never been in a
- 39:31Speaker 4: college football game where I've seen the FBI and Homeland
- 39:34Speaker 4: Security just walking around among the crowd.
- 39:37Speaker 1: With Marty Girl. And then the Super Bowl in February,
- 39:40Speaker 1: you were just there as that happened. Would do you
- 39:44Speaker 1: think twice about being a part of one of those
- 39:46Speaker 1: events in New Orleans?
- 39:48Speaker 4: Personally? Yes, because I mean, but the thing is, it's
- 39:54Speaker 4: just like any big city's going to have security issues anyway.
- 39:57Speaker 4: You can't keep an eye on everything at any time.
- 40:00Speaker 4: And because of the way New Orleans has structured all
- 40:03Speaker 4: the small streets, side streets and everything, I mean, it's
- 40:06Speaker 4: pretty much just foot traffic anyway, so like anybody can
- 40:08Speaker 4: come and go and with that attack, you know, the
- 40:12Speaker 4: big question there was the security measures as far as
- 40:16Speaker 4: just the ballards, the security ballards that would go up
- 40:19Speaker 4: at the end of Bourbon Street or some of these
- 40:20Speaker 4: party roads I would call them, where you know, people
- 40:23Speaker 4: can just walk on the roads like Bourbon Street, and
- 40:26Speaker 4: those security ballers are just like if you go to
- 40:28Speaker 4: a you know, the shopping mall or whatever, you see
- 40:31Speaker 4: those metal posts like yellow posts or whatever in the
- 40:34Speaker 4: parking lot. They're like those, but they raise up out
- 40:36Speaker 4: of the ground. They can come up and down. And
- 40:38Speaker 4: they also have these things almost called like a wall,
- 40:41Speaker 4: almost called like it looks like a snowplow that comes
- 40:43Speaker 4: out of the ground as well at the end of
- 40:44Speaker 4: the road, so then we can get through it. But
- 40:46Speaker 4: those ballards, the smaller ones are supposed to be on
- 40:48Speaker 4: the sidewalks that come up, so they're staggered. So you
- 40:51Speaker 4: have like one here and then one here behind it,
- 40:54Speaker 4: and so if someone was to try and drive a
- 40:56Speaker 4: car through there, there's absolutely no way from to do it.
- 40:59Speaker 4: But the issue you there is that New Orleans they've
- 41:02Speaker 4: been under repair since November and they weren't working, and
- 41:05Speaker 4: so they've had to put temporary structures up, whether it's
- 41:08Speaker 4: just one of those metal steel gates that you see
- 41:11Speaker 4: like at you know, boxing events or old wrestling events
- 41:13Speaker 4: in the eighties, or they'll park a police car at
- 41:15Speaker 4: the end of the street and just kind of block
- 41:17Speaker 4: it with their car. And obviously they didn't have anything
- 41:19Speaker 4: really on the sidewalk to stop this attacker this past week.
- 41:24Speaker 4: So they say they're gonna have this all fixed before
- 41:28Speaker 4: then for the Super Bowl. But I mean, you know,
- 41:33Speaker 4: you can't be safe really anywhere anywhere these days, and personally,
- 41:37Speaker 4: as I get older, I just want to avoid large
- 41:39Speaker 4: events unless it's work related. But it would definitely be
- 41:42Speaker 4: in the back of my mind if I were to
- 41:44Speaker 4: go to New Orleans and go to one of these
- 41:45Speaker 4: big events, and for that matter, any big event in
- 41:47Speaker 4: any city, but probably especially New Orleans because as I said,
- 41:50Speaker 4: there's just so many little small roads and looking crannies
- 41:54Speaker 4: around the French Quarter that you know, you just never
- 41:57Speaker 4: know what's going to happen there. Plus, as you know, hobby,
- 42:00Speaker 4: you walk around. Every time I'm in New Orleans, I
- 42:02Speaker 4: hear stories about people getting mugged or getting followed around
- 42:05Speaker 4: or whatever because it's such a hotspot for tourists and
- 42:08Speaker 4: the pickpockets are always looking out for you.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and in drunk cities too, it's easier to if
- 42:12Speaker 1: I were a pickpocket, I go to drunk cities because
- 42:14Speaker 1: people are drunk, no clue. Let's talk about that game specifically.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I never got Parker Jones for a second, so and
- 42:21Speaker 1: again we can get to the game, but that first
- 42:24Speaker 1: of all, if I'm a walk on, I'm not getting
- 42:25Speaker 1: right on the sideline anyway, because I don't deserve to be.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And I feel like they're gonna be like, hey, walk on,
- 42:30Speaker 1: move back like I feel like I would just know
- 42:32Speaker 1: my place aside from it total all over the line,
- 42:35Speaker 1: he hit the referee, the referee wiped out through the flag.
- 42:39Speaker 1: He's also he's a walk on. Don't wear such a
- 42:42Speaker 1: bold white undershirt. I thought that was problematic too. Why
- 42:45Speaker 1: are you drawing attention to yourself? Walk on? All those
- 42:48Speaker 1: thoughts happened. Now, what are your thoughts about the Parker
- 42:53Speaker 1: Jones situation as a whole? Should the ref have thrown
- 42:55Speaker 1: the flag the reaction does he transfer? What you think
- 42:59Speaker 1: about that, Brandon?
- 43:01Speaker 4: Well, I can't see why the ref through the flag
- 43:03Speaker 4: because it's against the rules. But also if it's one
- 43:05Speaker 4: of those situations where it didn't necessarily affect the play
- 43:08Speaker 4: and it else, it didn't affect your involvement with the
- 43:11Speaker 4: play as a referee, you had other officials to help you,
- 43:14Speaker 4: I probably want to throw the flag also, if I'm
- 43:16Speaker 4: sure if you looked at the replay of it, he
- 43:17Speaker 4: would have seen how much of a you know, an
- 43:19Speaker 4: accident was. It wasn't like the kid was legitimately like
- 43:22Speaker 4: three feet into the white zone, you know, along the sideline.
- 43:25Speaker 4: He was just there on the edge and it was
- 43:27Speaker 4: just a huge play and it was the first big
- 43:28Speaker 4: play of the game for either side really, and so
- 43:31Speaker 4: everybody was excited. I feel bad for the kid, just
- 43:34Speaker 4: because now I was there in the stadium, but I
- 43:37Speaker 4: had to broadcast on my computer on the side whatever,
- 43:39Speaker 4: and every time I look down, they were still looked
- 43:41Speaker 4: like they were still talking about the kid over and
- 43:42Speaker 4: over and over. Again, they were making him a superstar
- 43:45Speaker 4: without him really wanting to be a superstar. And I
- 43:47Speaker 4: you know, that's the you know, part of the problem
- 43:50Speaker 4: or part of what you signed up for as a
- 43:52Speaker 4: football player, but not necessarily as a walk on football player.
- 43:55Speaker 4: The other thing is is that because of these playoffs,
- 43:58Speaker 4: now you're able to dress out everybody who's on your roster,
- 44:01Speaker 4: so like one hundred and five hundred and twenty five
- 44:03Speaker 4: kids or whatever. Whereas if it was like a typical
- 44:06Speaker 4: road game during the season, you'd only have like sixty
- 44:08Speaker 4: something players on the sideline, so that walk on would
- 44:10Speaker 4: have never been there. But because of the playoff, they
- 44:13Speaker 4: allow you to travel your entire roster. And I'll tell
- 44:15Speaker 4: you it was so many kids for Georgia that a
- 44:18Speaker 4: lot of their walk ons were in the press conference
- 44:20Speaker 4: room because I was having to do some TV before
- 44:22Speaker 4: the game. Is the only quiet area I could find.
- 44:24Speaker 4: But then it wasn't because there was about twenty five
- 44:27Speaker 4: to thirty walk ons in there getting dressed out for
- 44:30Speaker 4: the game because they didn't have enough room in their
- 44:31Speaker 4: locker room and NFL locker room of all things too.
- 44:34Speaker 4: So they should probably maybe they should just look at
- 44:37Speaker 4: like not allowing that many kids on the sideline. I
- 44:40Speaker 4: know they want the kids to have the experience and
- 44:43Speaker 4: reward them for being there at the game, but that
- 44:45Speaker 4: doesn't necessarily mean they need to be on the sideline
- 44:48Speaker 4: for the game and getting in the way. So maybe
- 44:50Speaker 4: we cut back on that and just for that three
- 44:52Speaker 4: hour period of time they're not with the team, but
- 44:55Speaker 4: the rest of the week they are and they're enjoying
- 44:56Speaker 4: the festivities.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I did a deep dive on him. I think most
- 44:59Speaker 1: people did. He was a no star recruit. How do
- 45:02Speaker 1: you even get on as a walk on at Georgia
- 45:05Speaker 1: as a no star recruit? Do you know anything about
- 45:08Speaker 1: his story?
- 45:10Speaker 4: None. I didn't really look into him all that much,
- 45:12Speaker 4: But you know, sometimes it's just a matter of if
- 45:14Speaker 4: you know somebody who knows somebody. And then also a
- 45:17Speaker 4: lot of these teams, including Georgia, they do open tryouts
- 45:21Speaker 4: for walk ons. They'll do walk on tryouts every preseason.
- 45:23Speaker 4: I mean every team I've ever been around, they do that.
- 45:26Speaker 4: Sometime in the middle or early part of August camp.
- 45:28Speaker 4: They'll do tryouts and like maybe bring on a two
- 45:30Speaker 4: or three guys if they've got room on their roster.
- 45:33Speaker 4: But I'll say this in the new era of college
- 45:36Speaker 4: football that's starting up here this upcoming year, with the
- 45:39Speaker 4: scholarship limits and all that, You're not going to see
- 45:42Speaker 4: a lot of Parker Jones is out there anymore. It's
- 45:45Speaker 4: gonna be kids that can actually contribute well.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Also, with a haircut like that, you're not a cornerback.
- 45:51Speaker 1: He's a cornerback. You can't. I've never seen somebody fast
- 45:54Speaker 1: with that haircut. He's white and with that haircut, no chance.
- 45:58Speaker 4: He reminded me a lot of like Will mush Champ,
- 46:00Speaker 4: because Will Muschamp looked like that, like playing football as well,
- 46:04Speaker 4: and he was. He was a good football player. Same
- 46:06Speaker 4: with Kirby Smart. Kirby Smart is a really good linebacker
- 46:09Speaker 4: at Georgia, But like you will linebacker.
- 46:12Speaker 1: That's not a cornerback. This guy's my cornerback, like Cooper
- 46:15Speaker 1: De John's the only white corn. I mean when he
- 46:17Speaker 1: came out, they were like.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Wells white.
- 46:18Speaker 1: We cannot believe it. There's no chance. As his kids
- 46:20Speaker 1: get and I hope he like bounces back and has
- 46:22Speaker 1: a good career, I'm sure he'll play. If he wants
- 46:24Speaker 1: to play, he'll play at a smaller school. I think
- 46:27Speaker 1: maybe he's a legacy kid though, like maybe his parent
- 46:28Speaker 1: or something played there. But okay, let's talk about that
- 46:31Speaker 1: game for a second.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Now.
- 46:34Speaker 1: It's right, everybody's just jumping all over the SEC and
- 46:37Speaker 1: they have their chance. Now, Okay, if you're gonna take
- 46:39Speaker 1: your shots, take your shots, because everybody's doing it, not you,
- 46:41Speaker 1: but everybody's doing SEC sucks. SC sucks. Does the SEC suck?
- 46:45Speaker 4: No, it's just not as good as it once was,
- 46:48Speaker 4: and it hasn't been the last two years. And for
- 46:51Speaker 4: that matter, college football this year. When we look at
- 46:54Speaker 4: the quote unquote elite team, say the last four teams
- 46:56Speaker 4: in the playoff right now, I wouldn't say that any
- 46:59Speaker 4: of those teams may maybe one of them Ohio State
- 47:01Speaker 4: matches up really with any of the previous teams we've
- 47:04Speaker 4: seen in previous years, even the most recent years. I
- 47:09Speaker 4: wrote this on my column about Notre Dame after that
- 47:12Speaker 4: game that I believe and I know a lot of
- 47:15Speaker 4: other people are saying this too, and I don't think
- 47:17Speaker 4: it's hyperbole that the era of SEC speed and the
- 47:23Speaker 4: athleticism and having that just absolute dominance over the other conferences,
- 47:28Speaker 4: that's over, and not necessarily because it's the fault of
- 47:32Speaker 4: the SEC. It's because of the transfer portal. Because of NIL,
- 47:35Speaker 4: it's spread out talent more than ever. As I've said before,
- 47:39Speaker 4: there's more talent than ever among the big schools, but
- 47:42Speaker 4: it's more spread out than ever. So what you're going
- 47:44Speaker 4: to get is games like this where Notre Dame beats
- 47:47Speaker 4: Georgia because Georgia is just not as good as it
- 47:49Speaker 4: was in the previous years. Same with Alabama. Four losses
- 47:52Speaker 4: this year. And you look at Notre Dame, I think
- 47:57Speaker 4: they got great coaches, but look at every that was
- 48:00Speaker 4: scored in that game. It was by transfers. Like Notre
- 48:05Speaker 4: Dame's never been that type of program in the last
- 48:08Speaker 4: couple of years to just go, let's get transfers in
- 48:11Speaker 4: and depend on them. No, they had to do that,
- 48:14Speaker 4: and that's the way college football has been trending. And
- 48:16Speaker 4: every player that contributed significant moments in that game were transfers,
- 48:21Speaker 4: and in fact, most of them, I think, if not
- 48:23Speaker 4: all of them that scored in that game are transfers
- 48:25Speaker 4: that just arrived this past offseason. Got Ryo Leonard at quarterback,
- 48:29Speaker 4: Jaydon Harrison, the kid who returned the kickoff for a touchdown.
- 48:32Speaker 4: He was at Marshall you know Bo Collins who caught
- 48:36Speaker 4: the touchdown pass transfer from Clemson. Uh, times have changed
- 48:41Speaker 4: and the SEC's days of having exclusivity to the athletes
- 48:47Speaker 4: in the South are over. Those kids now are going
- 48:50Speaker 4: up north even more than they have in the pass
- 48:53Speaker 4: and I think that will continue. And what's really going
- 48:55Speaker 4: to hurt the SEC, in my opinion, even further potentially,
- 48:58Speaker 4: is that all the money in nil with boosters and
- 49:01Speaker 4: everything is up north. In these big ten schools. They
- 49:05Speaker 4: have the bigger boosters, They have the bigger NIL collectives
- 49:09Speaker 4: than anybody in the SEC. And that is what's going
- 49:13Speaker 4: to attract this talent even more so over these next
- 49:15Speaker 4: two or three years, because now everybody's paying twenty twenty
- 49:19Speaker 4: two million dollars a year and then on top of that,
- 49:21Speaker 4: people are going to be paying nil money on top
- 49:24Speaker 4: of that, and the big ten schools have the deeper pockets,
- 49:26Speaker 4: the bigger donors, and I think that could potentially sink
- 49:29Speaker 4: the SEC even further.
- 49:31Speaker 1: And the SEC can't stock pile like they did because
- 49:34Speaker 1: it's so easy to leave if you're like the old
- 49:36Speaker 1: Georgia teams. So they had three NFL running backs. The
- 49:40Speaker 1: we even go back, we could do this all day.
- 49:42Speaker 1: With all these SEC teams, the Georgia's, the Alabamas. You
- 49:45Speaker 1: can't do that because if you're third straining and you're awesome,
- 49:48Speaker 1: you're just not gonna sit. You're going to go somewhere else.
- 49:50Speaker 1: And so again the depth will not be there anywhere,
- 49:55Speaker 1: but everywhere we'll have better ones because the big schools
- 49:59Speaker 1: aren't able to hold three ones.
- 50:01Speaker 4: You can't hold them. And you know that thing with
- 50:03Speaker 4: Georgia and Alabama, they would hold them and develop them
- 50:05Speaker 4: in their system so that by the year two, year three,
- 50:07Speaker 4: not only are they obviously ready to play, but they
- 50:10Speaker 4: also understand the system and they've been playing in it
- 50:12Speaker 4: in practice for two years, so they're ready to start
- 50:14Speaker 4: and not just start, but excel in the system. Now
- 50:17Speaker 4: these kids are going I'm not starting after a year,
- 50:19Speaker 4: I'm gonna go transfer elsewhere, and they don't quite get
- 50:21Speaker 4: the development. I mean, you could say I've been coached
- 50:23Speaker 4: the last two or three years, but you're being coached
- 50:25Speaker 4: by two or three different coaches. Everybody does things differently,
- 50:29Speaker 4: and I think that's going to start start showing up too, Bobby,
- 50:32Speaker 4: is that we're going to see players that just aren't
- 50:33Speaker 4: as refined technique wise and fundamentally as some of these programs,
- 50:38Speaker 4: And if you're a program like Georgia, what Georgia is
- 50:41Speaker 4: trying to do right now is they believe that they
- 50:43Speaker 4: can bring the kids in and maybe not like they
- 50:45Speaker 4: have in the past, where you say you got three
- 50:46Speaker 4: guys three deep and keep them on campus all three
- 50:49Speaker 4: four years, but they believe that they just do two
- 50:52Speaker 4: They could still do that. They're still focusing on maybe
- 50:54Speaker 4: we can keep enough kids here and develop them and
- 50:56Speaker 4: bring them up the system. But man, that is so
- 50:59Speaker 4: difficult to do with the out paying those kids more.
- 51:01Speaker 4: I mean, if you're gonna do that, if you're in
- 51:03Speaker 4: Georgia at this point, you're gonna be like, we got
- 51:05Speaker 4: to pay our backup, you know, you know two times
- 51:09Speaker 4: what he's going to be potentially making elsewhere just to
- 51:11Speaker 4: keep him on campus.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Let's go to the Texas game. And I'm a big
- 51:16Speaker 1: believer that kickers need to be like ci agents. They
- 51:20Speaker 1: don't need to be noticed for being any different because
- 51:22Speaker 1: when they mess up and this Auburn guy has long
- 51:26Speaker 1: hair earlier, it's just too much. It's too much if
- 51:31Speaker 1: you're a kicker, because when you mess up, we as
- 51:33Speaker 1: a kicker. You need to be normal. You need to
- 51:36Speaker 1: be like five nine, five ten, skinny. We don't wanted
- 51:39Speaker 1: to know what your face looks like. You need to
- 51:40Speaker 1: stay to the side because when when it's not when
- 51:43Speaker 1: you have something about you that stands out physically, we
- 51:46Speaker 1: will never forget it. I will never forget besideshow Bob's
- 51:49Speaker 1: hair coming out of that helmet, that Texas helmet. So
- 51:53Speaker 1: my role would be like the New York Yankees. No
- 51:55Speaker 1: facial hair for kickers, no long hair, no big bold glasses.
- 52:00Speaker 1: You're not wearing them one sock up or down. You
- 52:02Speaker 1: look as generic as possible, like a CIA agent, and
- 52:05Speaker 1: you kick the ball because that makes you like it
- 52:07Speaker 1: makes me not like him. I don't know. I don't
- 52:09Speaker 1: like Texas anyway, hate Texas, But your thoughts on kickers
- 52:12Speaker 1: just need to look standard because we just kick the
- 52:14Speaker 1: freaking ball.
- 52:15Speaker 4: That's a problem. Like kicker, as soon as they can
- 52:17Speaker 4: walk on a field, you automatically hate them, even if
- 52:19Speaker 4: you're a fan of that team, because you're just like,
- 52:21Speaker 4: don't screw this, he's run.
- 52:23Speaker 3: You're right, Yeah, when.
- 52:25Speaker 4: A quarterback goes out there, you know, get subbed in
- 52:27Speaker 4: or whatever. You're not going oh, man, here comes the backup. No,
- 52:30Speaker 4: sometimes you're thinking, oh yeah, you know, because the hope
- 52:33Speaker 4: is always something's better with the kicker. It's always worse.
- 52:36Speaker 4: We're always assuming the worst.
- 52:37Speaker 1: And kickers don't have swags. Kik kiers don't have swag
- 52:39Speaker 1: at all for any reason. A quarterback can have, like
- 52:41Speaker 1: he can have something about him. They're like, dang, he
- 52:44Speaker 1: deserves along here earring that chains that quarterback, like that's
- 52:47Speaker 1: what he's about. The greatest kicker does not deserve that
- 52:50Speaker 1: Auburn guy's hair. Nah.
- 52:51Speaker 4: Yeah, well that and you know, it didn't help that
- 52:54Speaker 4: his coach was like got up in his face and
- 52:57Speaker 4: gave him a little like Tony Robin, let's let's kiss.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Here a moment.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Yeah, it was funny. I was in the Georgia team
- 53:03Speaker 4: hotel in the lobby watching the end of that game
- 53:06Speaker 4: with a bunch of Georgia fans and player parents and everything,
- 53:09Speaker 4: and man, they were cheering hard against Texas. They're like,
- 53:14Speaker 4: we do not want to see Texas for a third
- 53:16Speaker 4: time this year on the football field if they advanced
- 53:19Speaker 4: in the playoffs, and of course Georgia don't have to
- 53:22Speaker 4: worry about that now. But but when bird r Auburn
- 53:26Speaker 4: was missing those kicks. It was as if they were
- 53:29Speaker 4: Texas fans. They were going, oh my god, Like even
- 53:32Speaker 4: though they wanted him to miss those kicks, they're like,
- 53:34Speaker 4: oh my god. So it's just something inherent in all
- 53:37Speaker 4: of us. I think with football, it's just like it
- 53:39Speaker 4: just changed. Kickers change our attitude because I almost think
- 53:42Speaker 4: we see them as like the nerd on the field,
- 53:44Speaker 4: like this band. Nerd doesn't deserve to be on me.
- 53:46Speaker 1: The nerd though, Yes, you need to be the nerd
- 53:48Speaker 1: and not the long haired Yeah. Yeah, okay, so let's.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Do this right. I went real quick.
- 53:52Speaker 4: I want to bring this up.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead, I'm ready to see this.
- 53:54Speaker 4: The kicker. I don't know what team it was, so
- 53:57Speaker 4: forgive me. I just came to my mind. The kicker
- 53:59Speaker 4: went out well during halftime this past week to warm
- 54:03Speaker 4: up while the band was still.
- 54:04Speaker 3: On the field, that's all that.
- 54:05Speaker 4: And he was kicking, trying to kick balls between like
- 54:08Speaker 4: the drum line and the tuba section.
- 54:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and the.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Fans went nuts on him. They went after him. Usually
- 54:15Speaker 4: everybody just hates the band, they'll tack the band, but
- 54:17Speaker 4: they went after that kicker. So again, kickers, you have
- 54:20Speaker 4: like you can't do anything right. I mean, but if
- 54:22Speaker 4: it was a defensive tackle out there warming up and
- 54:24Speaker 4: he knocked a trombone player down just as a tackle.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Say yeah, hell yeah that showbiz baby, it's like punt
- 54:30Speaker 1: and just will stay on this for just one more second.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Like I hate. The worst job would be a punter
- 54:35Speaker 1: because nobody ever wants to see you, even your own team.
- 54:40Speaker 1: A kicker, yeah, you're like you're gonna ruin this, we
- 54:42Speaker 1: know it. There's a negative feeling. But if you ever
- 54:44Speaker 1: have to see your punter, that's in a negative situation,
- 54:47Speaker 1: Like think about that. You're only on the field whenever
- 54:50Speaker 1: your own team does not want to see you. That
- 54:53Speaker 1: sucks to be a punter. I'd probably be a punter
- 54:55Speaker 1: and a kicker, and I would have my haircut short,
- 54:59Speaker 1: and i'd be in contact. I'd be as low key
- 55:01Speaker 1: generic as possible. Okay, so Ohio State looks ungodly good now,
- 55:07Speaker 1: like they figured it out. I don't know they're they're
- 55:10Speaker 1: gonna dog walk Texas. I feel like, but yeah, if
- 55:13Speaker 1: Ohio State just plays to what they're kind of capable of,
- 55:16Speaker 1: can anybody stop them?
- 55:18Speaker 4: I like Notre Dame's defense potentially against them.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Their cornerbacks are really good. Notre Dame doesn't. Yeah.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the one matchup I see remaining in this
- 55:28Speaker 4: playoff that could challenge Ohio State. I don't think Penn
- 55:32Speaker 4: State matches up well at all with Ohio State. They
- 55:35Speaker 4: played earlier this year. It was a quote unquote low
- 55:37Speaker 4: scoring game. Ohio State won twenty to thirteen. Penn State
- 55:40Speaker 4: missed a lot of opportunities that game, but so did
- 55:43Speaker 4: Ohio State, and I think that got overlooked. And with
- 55:46Speaker 4: that being quote unquote a neutral site the National Championship
- 55:49Speaker 4: game instead of being at happy value like it was
- 55:51Speaker 4: early this year, that's just not a good matchup. Also,
- 55:53Speaker 4: Ohio State wasn't playing anywhere near as well as it
- 55:56Speaker 4: is right now. I think this Ohio State team, Bobby
- 55:59Speaker 4: reminds me a lot of say like a superstar NBA
- 56:03Speaker 4: team that just goes through the motions in the regular
- 56:05Speaker 4: season and then once it comes playoff time, they just
- 56:08Speaker 4: go off. They tap into that something special that's in
- 56:11Speaker 4: them and we all know, oh yeah, that's why they're
- 56:13Speaker 4: the richest roster in college football, because they've got the
- 56:16Speaker 4: best players and they've turned it on when they had to.
- 56:19Speaker 4: And you know, I reversed a week or so ago
- 56:22Speaker 4: my pick for Oregon Ohio State because I saw how
- 56:26Speaker 4: State played in that Tennessee game, and then also talk
- 56:27Speaker 4: to some people around the program about how they were
- 56:30Speaker 4: doing some dang things differently offensively, and they're just like,
- 56:32Speaker 4: we're just gonna stop shining away from throwing the ball
- 56:34Speaker 4: to Jeremiah Smith. He's the best player in all of
- 56:35Speaker 4: college football, so we're gonna throw it to him, even
- 56:37Speaker 4: though he's a freshman. They got away from that a
- 56:39Speaker 4: little bit near the end of the season, and boy,
- 56:41Speaker 4: he's tearing it up now and Oregon just had no
- 56:45Speaker 4: answer for him, and no one in this playoff I
- 56:48Speaker 4: think is going to be able to slow him down
- 56:49Speaker 4: other than made a Notre Dame. Notre Dame's got the
- 56:52Speaker 4: best corners in all of college football, not just this playoff,
- 56:56Speaker 4: and they could slow them down. My question, though, is
- 56:59Speaker 4: can Notre Dame actually score enough points if they were
- 57:02Speaker 4: to meet in the National Championship game, because that offense
- 57:05Speaker 4: it's good for maybe three touchdowns in the game, but
- 57:08Speaker 4: good luck getting four or five out of them. And
- 57:10Speaker 4: I think they'll beat Ohio State at this point. The
- 57:11Speaker 4: way they're chugging along, you might end up having to
- 57:14Speaker 4: score that fourth touchdown late in the game, and I
- 57:17Speaker 4: don't know if anybody's equipped in the playoff remaining to
- 57:19Speaker 4: do that.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I feel like Penn State and Notre Dame is a
- 57:23Speaker 1: better matchup for Penn State to actually win the game
- 57:26Speaker 1: and then get run because I think Penn State can
- 57:28Speaker 1: beat Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame is a one
- 57:32Speaker 1: and a half point favorite, right are they a point favorite?
- 57:36Speaker 1: I think I looked last night. I think that seems
- 57:38Speaker 1: to be a pretty good matchup. The Ohio State Texas game.
- 57:41Speaker 1: I hate Texas so much, and I think what has
- 57:44Speaker 1: avoided Ohio State from being the big bad villain as
- 57:47Speaker 1: those two losses during the season, and it's kept everybody
- 57:49Speaker 1: off of the twenty million dollars. Then it comes up occasionally,
- 57:52Speaker 1: but because they had two losses, because they lost to
- 57:54Speaker 1: Oregon semi middle of the season, they lost again to Michigan,
- 57:58Speaker 1: it's kept them from being the big villain because had
- 58:00Speaker 1: they been undefeated the whole time, I think that would
- 58:02Speaker 1: have been the storyline twenty plus million. They're und but
- 58:05Speaker 1: those losses have made them I won't say likable, but
- 58:08Speaker 1: not near as hateable.
- 58:10Speaker 4: We also, you have a program under a head coach
- 58:12Speaker 4: who hasn't won the big one, Ryan Day. He has
- 58:14Speaker 4: struggled in top five games and now they're finally winning them.
- 58:18Speaker 4: So in a lot of ways, he's as much of
- 58:20Speaker 4: an underdog as you can be at a blue blood
- 58:22Speaker 4: program that's paying football players twenty plus million dollars. And
- 58:27Speaker 4: you just lost three weeks ago or four weeks ago
- 58:30Speaker 4: against rival Michigan at home. So people are just like
- 58:32Speaker 4: this Ryan Day is not good or whatever. I mean,
- 58:34Speaker 4: he's good, it's just that he kind of gets in
- 58:37Speaker 4: his own way at times. And he's not getting in
- 58:39Speaker 4: the way right now. He's letting that talent play loose
- 58:42Speaker 4: and play the style that they need to play to win.
- 58:44Speaker 4: And you know, it's it's just so crazy. I mean,
- 58:48Speaker 4: back in junior July, you know the question for me
- 58:51Speaker 4: and I talked to Ross York, the Ohio State a
- 58:53Speaker 4: d about this and rot a calumn on it, and
- 58:56Speaker 4: it was what happens if Ohio State loses the Michigan
- 58:59Speaker 4: for fourth straight year? It was thought of unheard of
- 59:03Speaker 4: at that point because Michigan was we thought was gonna
- 59:04Speaker 4: be average or bad. Ohio State had the richest roster
- 59:07Speaker 4: in college football, and he said very much kind of
- 59:10Speaker 4: what he said after this last loss it against Michigan,
- 59:14Speaker 4: that you have to take the big picture into consideration.
- 59:16Speaker 4: It's not just one loss against Michigan anymore. In this
- 59:19Speaker 4: twelve team playoff era, you can lose to Michigan and
- 59:22Speaker 4: still make the playoff. And so what if you won
- 59:24Speaker 4: a national championship. I don't think a lot of fans
- 59:26Speaker 4: will care about them losing the Michigan. But the problem
- 59:29Speaker 4: is is that Michigan fans can still hang that over
- 59:32Speaker 4: your head all off season. Yeah, you won the national championship, buddy,
- 59:35Speaker 4: but guess what, we beat you and we got you
- 59:37Speaker 4: at the Big House this upcoming year.
- 59:40Speaker 1: So and they won it the year before too, Yeah,
- 59:42Speaker 1: and they won it the year before with Also, it's
- 59:44Speaker 1: like semi sweet chocolate chips to me, Like, I like
- 59:46Speaker 1: chocolate chips, and if I see them the fridge, I'm like, oh,
- 59:48Speaker 1: I'm need some new chocolate chips. And I'm like, you know,
- 59:50Speaker 1: I like I found chocolate chips and I get to
- 59:51Speaker 1: eat them, but they're kind of like semi sweet. That's
- 59:53Speaker 1: kind of like if Ohio State wins the national title.
- 59:55Speaker 1: They got chocolate chips. That's pretty cool. But they're semi
- 59:57Speaker 1: sweek as Michigan beat them and had won the title
- 59:59Speaker 1: the year before. And you're right, I don't hate Ohio
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: State as much as I should. I hope they beat
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I hope they stomped. Hope Texas quits, Hope Texas folds
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: the program. They get beat so bad next week? Okay,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: final thing, And you can push back on my theory.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: First of all, everyone's like, you don't want the bye
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: week because the rest, but three of those teams that
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: lost were the underdogs, so more so than it was
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: the bye week. I think mostly it wasn't the bye week.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: It was they got beat by better teams. Your thoughts
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: on the rest and the people going the bye weeks
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: one lost it for them.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: Yeah, the favorites won for the most part. I mean
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: they did. And even in the game like Notre Dame
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: in Georgia, it was like a one or two point spread,
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: so who won one in that game? I don't think
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: the buye affected anybody substantially, And in fact, I could
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: argue that Notre Dame, if they had the buye, would
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: have beaten Georgia worse. And the reason why I say
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: that is because Notre Dame lost their best defensive player
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: in the first round against Indiana, Riley Mills defensive tackle
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: led them in sacks, and he's a big piece for them,
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: not just defensively, but also strategically and schematically against a
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: team like Georgia that was going to try and run
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: the ball up the middle. They didn't have him in
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: that game, and I think if he's in that game,
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: that's probably even worse for Georgia. So yeah, I don't
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: buy into the by thing right now. But what I
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: do buy into, Bobby, is that we got to receive
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: the bracket. We can't do this crap where we reward
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: the four top conference champions with the first round by,
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: so you get like the number ten team or whatever
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: with the first round by with one of the top
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: four seeds. Don't do that. Just put the teams in
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: and rank them one through twelve. If you're number four
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: in your Notre Dame, you get a first round by.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: We got to get rid of that. I mean, in
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: the Insula men's basketball tournament, they don't give conference champions
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: a first round by. They just go you have a
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: spot in the tournament. They don't say you have you'll
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: have one of the top four seeds or one of
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: the top eight seeds or anything like that. They're just
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: saying you're guaranteed a spot in the playoff. Do it
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: that way now, guarantee them a spot in the playoff,
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: but rank them the way they are, and if they're
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: outside the top twelve, have them bump out that last
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: team at number twelve, because usually it's going to be
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: a team that we're all wondering should be in the
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: playoff anyway. So that's what they need to do.

- 1:03:43Speaker 1: All right, NFL Playoffs, Chiefs and lines getting the one
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: seeds deserving that's kind of how Minnesota we get it.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Just say that the last longer, that story be longer.
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: I wish that game was better last night, I know. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: it's kind of a letdown.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but okay, I'm with it. Like just looking at
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: the matchups Broncos and Bills, that should that should be
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: a steam roll, right, should be. You can always say
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: you never know. Still, this is even one that I
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: would do. I'm so cold though, It's like you don't
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: even know who I know. Like, that's a two seven.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: So that's the best of this round and the worst
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: of this round. So Buffalo probably right. I don't we
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: pull up the spreads, Kevin, because I would. I would
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: guess that one's probably a touchdown on more. Okay, so
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: we'll just we'll just do winners here. But I do
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: want to hear the spread. So Buffalo is the two.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Let's just say they get that, Okay. Chiefs obviously get
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: to buy the Ravens and Steelers. Those games are oddly
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: always good, always good. Yeah, Steelers kind of sucked though,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: now again.
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: Yeah, all of a sudden, they're ten and seven.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and after starting so hot. Yeah yeah, but those
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: games are I still am picking the Ravens. But what's
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: that spread?
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: Five nine and a half?
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Wow? Yeah, not even based off their previous games. Huh no,
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: good for Lamar. Okay, so we'll put Baltimore there. So
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: that means Buffalo and Baltimore if that's the case, we
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: play in round two because they do. The reseeding The
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Chargers in Texas is interesting.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: We need a coin for this one.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: What's the spread there?
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: Is it?
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: Chargers one two and a half Chargers?
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I definitely see the Texans winning that game. Sure, they've
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: not played well recently. The Chargers are just consistent. Yeah,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: they're just consistent. But I think Kansas City's hoping the
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Texans win. You've already had to play the Chargers twice.
- 1:05:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and the Charger's always playing tough.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm gonna who do you think who wins that one?
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: I go Texans any reason, just because I don't. I mean,
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: I don't think the Chargers are there. I think the CJ.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Stroud still has a little bit of no Tank Dell.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: I know Tank Dino is tough, but I mean I
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: think no.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Arian Foster, Johnson, David Carr car Okay, Texans, I can't.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go Chargers. I think
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna Chargers too, just because of Harball and Herbert.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Better quarterback, better coach. When it's close. Uh, Casey, I
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: agree Chargers, so read uh football, We're gonna go Vikings.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: So then let's say it's the Chargers. Well, case I
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: can't say, does not want that to happen. You know
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: the rooting for the Texas, Yeah, don't have to be.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: But it's Kansas City and then the Chargers Baltimore than Buffalo.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: We'll just run the AFC side. Let's just say it's
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Baltimore Buffalo. That's a good game.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: You think playoff.
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: Lamar shows up, He kind of shrinks in the moment
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: and pulls it out.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I think that it's in Buffalo, Buffalo and it's cold
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: as crap, and that definitely helps. So that's one of
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: those two where I'm like, I'm like, Okay, I'm gonna
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: argue with you because you care, but I go Buffalo.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: The weird thing about the MVP race is that Lamar
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: has definitely the stats. Josh Allen's team has the wins, yep,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: but he does not have the stats that Lamar has.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Josh he's having a great to score year, but they're
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: using the well, Josh Allen's team is winning. Lamar has
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: the stats, but his team isn't winning. But if you're
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: saying Lamar should beat Josh Allen, then you got to
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: put Joe Burrow in, who also doesn't have the wins
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: but has the stats. So if you're going to penalize,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: if you're not going to penalize for losses, then you
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: got to put Joe Burrow in the mix. They finished
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: seven and six.
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it's also the Bills have a better record,
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: but Josh Allen doesn't have like a Derrick Henry. He
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: doesn't Jamaar Chase. So I feel like that's really what's
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: also like Bolster in his case, also just the narrative
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: that Lamar's ready one twice.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: But I hate when someone doesn't win because because that
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: crowd gets held against me for awards all the time,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: and I hate it. They're like, you don't need another
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: CMA award, you don't need another and I'm like, I
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: don't need it, but I deserve it, like, look at
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: my balls, give me the award. I say that to people. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: because Joe Burrow Stat's like crazy, Yeah, clos If you're
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: going to penalize Lamar.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: It's all to Jamar Chase.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: No, t Higgins. T Tiggins is awesome, Sea take less money,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: stay in Cincinnati.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: I hope not come to New England.
- 1:08:33Speaker 7: And he's going to New England.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: Uh had a good year too.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they have no defense though they play with nineteen
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: thousand offense and to on defense. Uh So Buffalo in
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Kansas City again. Probably that's fun because that's that's the
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: new Brady Manning is the Josh Allen Patrick Mahomes. Let's
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: go to the NFC side, man. The Rams are actually
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: coming on. The Rams are pretty good guys, and they
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: have If you're gonna have, you have to pick Stafford
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: or Donald. Picking Stafford yeah sure, even though Donald's been
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: really good this year. I'm picking Stafford and he's won
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: a Super Bowl. Vikings are Rams, Eddie.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Vikings.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Vikings.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: I think the Vikings kind of gave us a little
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: glimpse of like, Okay, maybe we're not there yet, but
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: I think they really are, especially coming after coming off
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: a loss like this. Yeah, I think gonna win this one.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: What's the line there, Kevin?
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: It is Minnesota minus one and a half.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: You know what's interesting about this game is that LA
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: does not have a like a home field advantage, so
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: they have the home field, so I guess they advantage me.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: They sleep in their own beds. Yeah, the yeah, they
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: don't have to take a flight to the game, but
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: there's no rabbit l a. Yeah, I'm gonna But if
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: it's like quarterback and coach, which is when it's close,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: it's usually what I will do. I guess I'll go Rams,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: even though that means Vikings a line because I'm on.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: But I would take Stafford and McVeigh right now over Kevin,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: O'Connell and Darnold, even though that's all four of them
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: are are good, Like, that's not I guess I'll go Rams.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Did you go, Audy?
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Yeah? I went Vikings?
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: What did you do, Kevin?
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: I'm gonna go Na. Yeah, but I will watch a
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: Vikings game just so I can hear his name over it.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: Oh yeah, the exact same way, just so I could
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: be like, you know what, if I was ever an
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: NFL coach, this is what it would sound like.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: That's weird, that's cute. Yeah, who are you picking?
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: I'm gonna go Rams.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Weird to pick the Rams after the Storybooks season of Kings.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: I hope the Vikings win, but I think the Rams
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: me too.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, Yeah, Okay, we got this game is terrible.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: We got Baker and then the Redskins, the.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Commanders whatever, dude, get it right?
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Whatever, dude, again, that's got to be a close what's
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: up spat on that one?
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: Two three Tampa Bay three?
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: They're playing in two Tampa, and I never trust a rookie.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: He's had his down then kind of back up, and
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Baker. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Baker over the Redskins Commanders.
- 1:11:12Speaker 5: Kevin, Yeah, I'm gonna do the same every time. We
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: don't believe in the Bucks, they just somehow keep keep
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: staying alive.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: Eddie, I'm trusting the rookie on this one. Jalen, Oh yeah,
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: conference yeah, yeah, yeah, conference foe, but I think I
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: think they have the team. And then an ex Cowboy coach, Yes.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: Packers Eagles, good game for seven to two. Yeah, like
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: two actual teams.
- 1:11:31Speaker 7: That rematch of the Brazil game at the start of
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: the season.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Forget about that.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: This turf will be coming off but every step thuugh.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: But I liked the game. What's the spread on that one?
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: Yeah, it's Philly minus four and a half.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: In Philly definite home field advantage, so they do see
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: them on a neutral site pretty close. What are the
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: two points? And I used to be three. I think
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: that's two. Yeah, I think Philly probably.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Eddie's gonna have a heyday Philly. M You just love
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: the NFC East, huh. I mean there are people we're
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: not there.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: They might the NFL because that's how the SEC works
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: for sure.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: I mean kind of sort of. You don't ever root
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: for the Eagles like I.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Would think you would never hate.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: It's the opposite.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I would think that too.
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: The Jets were actually relevant, I would always root against
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: them no matter what. The Bills pretty much the same
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: for the most part.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: They've been losers for so long. Y. Yeah, it's hard
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: to hate them. It's like hating the Cubs, and I'm
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: a massive Cubs fan, but nobody hates the cub because
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: we sucked forever. Yeah, even if you were like the
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Cardinals and that was like your rival, they didn't really
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: hate that we because I played on the team, You're
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: part of it. They wanted to beat us always. But
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: I think everybody it's hard to hate the Cubs because
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: we sucked. Same thing with the Bills. They suck forever,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: and so it's kind of it is kind of hard to.
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: Hate them, and they still I don't hate them.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: And they have to play in that weather cold weather. Eagles, Eagles,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Kevin Yeah, Eagles, Eagles, yep. Bucks Eagles would be that one. Hey,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I think the Bucks can win that. I don't think
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: they will, but I think the Bucks have a shot
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: to actually get to the NFC Championship.
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: And they beat Philly this year too, So.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: That's interesting is that I do not think they will.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I would pick the Eagles in that game it happens,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: but I think the Bucks would actually have a shot
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: to win either one of those games. That and then
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Lions and whomever.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: Lions, Lions, Yeah, Lions, and anyone else in the NFC.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: I mean, if I feel like the Eagles are gonna
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: have to beat the Lions or nobody will, right, and
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I don't think they will, but I think that's really
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: the only right read you with me? Yeah, for sure. Yeah,
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: I feel does anyone feel different? Like, if there's a
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: team to beat the Lions, it's probably gonna.
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: Have to be the Eagles, Yeah, because's gonna have to
- 1:13:38Speaker 7: put up points. And I feel like Philly's actually got
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: the offense so.
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: And their defense and playing really good.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and then who cares about a FNF championship ap
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: so far from that. But yeah, I'd love to see
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: And I hate dynasties while they're happening. I like them
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: when they're over. I liked it. It's pretty cool. I
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: like the Patriots won all those, but I was rooting
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: against them during the games. But I'll liked afterely one.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I was like, it's pretty cool to get to watch greatness.
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: I get it.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: But I hope the Chiefs won at all. Again, don't
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: get it?
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: Are they the favorite?
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: No, the Lions are?
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: The Lions? Are the Fish actually.
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: Have the easier road?
- 1:14:13Speaker 8: Probably?
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:14:14Speaker 7: Yeah, I guess they don't have it just a little
- 1:14:16Speaker 7: better too, Yeah, I mean, even though the record would
- 1:14:19Speaker 7: say otherwise, I guess.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: I mean the AFC is very competitive.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Quarterbacks, yeah, yeah, or like all the all the legacy
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: all the elite quarterbacks.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: Because even as good as the Eagles are, Jalen Hurts,
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: isn't you know josh Allen Lamar Jackson and he's still
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: banged up, so who knows?
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: He still hurts?
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Thank you for The Lions are at plus two eighty five.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: They're the favorite, Kansas City at two, Baltimore at three,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Buffalo at four, and Baltimore and Buffalo about the sam
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: but just barely off. Philadelphi's at five at the very
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: very bottom. Who do you think is the Worsteddy Texans
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Steelers in Texans? And then next is Commander's rams backward
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: were going backward in the Broncos. Uh College Football Playoff
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Wise odds on those four teams.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Left, Ohio State's got to be the heavy favorite.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Plus one ten heavy heavy heavy. Then Texas Notre Dame
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: at plus three eighty tied for second in Penn State
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: at plus four fifty, which, by the way, that's a
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: targeting that was for sure targeting. The Texas is for
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: sure targeting. It was, oh yeah, I've never seen more
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: targeting in my life. There's referees and pansies.
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: Yeah, that was bad.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: And the other play earlier this was not targeting. That
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: was elbow elbowing. Well when he went up, it is whatever,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: I hate Texas, They're about to get run.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: Yeah do that. Poor kicker though, man, that was like
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: it was just rough and we.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Wouldn't remember anything about him unless his hair was.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: That scatbird or whatever.
- 1:15:49Speaker 7: Though on Arizona State, Oh scatter Boods.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Who is that guy?
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: That was awesome.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: He maybe it was one of the greatest games by
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: a player that I've ever seen.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: By a player. Yeah, unbelievable because I was annoyed at
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: the beginning of the game, like he was staying outside
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: of the locker room giving everyone high five.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I was annoyed to a bit, yes, but then after.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: The game, I was like, you know what, man, you'd
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: give everyone high five. You be the leader of that team.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: You They gave him the MVP. They came during the
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: press cone losing game. He was like, I'm the best
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: running back. And I don't always get annoyed at that,
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: but I felt like his was coming from a place
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: of insecurity. Yeah, like didn't even get out, didn't even
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: get invited to the Heisman ceremony, and he's like, I
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: need to be no, no, he and he thought that
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: I had you say whatever you want, dude. Yeah, it's awesome,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: like catching.
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: Running, passing, throwing.
- 1:16:41Speaker 5: All of it was Jim Thorpe, all of it while
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: throwing up, dude, I.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Just write a book on Jim Thorpe.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: I don't know much about him other than he played
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: a bunch of possis, Oh my.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: God, like crazy Native American. Yeah. His dad ended up
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: sending him to a in Pennsylvania, to a what do
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: you call those golswysing kids in high school? Board boarding school,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: and the guy because he was in trouble a lot,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: and the guy noticed how athletic he was and so
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: played football old school days, leather helmet and ivy league
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: type stuff. Went to the Olympics and these decathlon and pinndathlon.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: I don't know too. They were massive back then, but
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: it was the multi I think one two gold medals.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: By the way, it had him taken away from.
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: Him because he was Native American.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: No, because he had played professional baseball and you had
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: to be amateur. But he didn't even know he played
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: professional baseball. He played for some crappy, not for real,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: minor league team where he made enough money to buy food.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: It wasn't like he was playing Major league ball. He
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: was like surviving. He was playing baseball just to live.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: They stripped the metals from him. They didn't give it
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: back to after he was dead. Oh gosh, but just
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: why and then died in poverty?
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: But greatest athlete like did it all? Baseball, basketball, football,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Olympian just and yeah. His dad sent him up to
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: a boarding school because of the trouble he was in.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: And then the coach there was like, dang, like you
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: can kind of do a lot of stuff. I believe
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: this is I'm making my athletes mixed up on this one.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Will you googled this, Mike. I think there was a
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: high they were doing a high jump. We got to
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: the school and he was in like regular pants and
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: went and saw the I doing it, is like can
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I do this? Can anybody do it? And jumps it
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: and the coach was like, that's the school record, Like
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: you just did that for the record. I'm fairly certain
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: that was I watched a lot of shows that I
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: read a lot too over the break. Let me see
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: if Jim Thorpe, Yeah, that was him. That was him.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: Jim Thorpe was freaking legit.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: Thanks for that lesson. I didn't know much about him
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: other than.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: I didn't either.
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: Well, my brother, I think, lives like thirty minutes away
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: from his hometown, so when I went up there to
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: go visit him, he's like, yeah, Jim Thorpe, we should
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: go see Jim Thorpe's hometown.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Okay, even if you like, go find like McDonald's podcast
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: on him, or learn you'll be it's really more than
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: so than just learning, because I spent this break learning
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: mostly about I spent a lot of time reading about
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: prohibition because I didn't understand why they would, and now
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: I completely understand why they did it.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: It was stupid why they did prohibition, for sure.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: And they needed to do something. I won't walk you
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: down that. I love that thirteen years probition was thirteen
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: years no alcohol.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Whoa, Well, there was alcohol.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: And I was reading about the smuggling and how they
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: would smoke get it in from the island. So I
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: spent my book reading time reading about prohibition, super fascinated
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: with that. I don't even drink, but I wonder why would.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: And then Jim Thorpe read a book on Jim Thorpe,
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: and then I read a book about a technology book.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: And Eddie were talking about talking about this a dinner
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: last night, about motion pictures, and I brought it up
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: to Eddie if Eddie freaking knew it. I was like, yeah,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: the first ever motion picture. And Eddie goes, oh, yeah,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: the horse, and I'm like, how did you know that?
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: School The debate was he's a former governor of California,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: super rich. He had horses, and he argued with his
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: boys that a horse when it gallops, all four feet
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: come off the ground at once. There's no way to
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: prove it in a gallop, there's nobody to prove it
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: because you can record it and then on our iPhone
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: stop it there.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: And then they only had photographed cameras, just still cameras.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: So he got a guy to set up all these
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: cameras and every time the horse tipt they took so
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: many pictures and basically could flip book it looks like
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: the horse running. And then Thomas saddisen't goun involved is
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: a whole thing.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: And it turns out, guys, that the horse does lift
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: all four of its hoofs in a run.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Regular run.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Confirmed, And now we have movies because of it.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: There you go, wow, jump Thorpe. Really interesting story.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: They stripped his freaking metals from a not even real
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: professional baseball career. But he was so good at everything.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: All right, you know, back to scouted real quick. His
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: mom did say that she knew you hear this when
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: scatav it was like in like a crowded place, he
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: would he would get claustrophobics, so he would run around
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: people's legs to get out of it. And the mom said,
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: that's why I knew you're running back. That's running back.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Did you see the thing where he put on pads
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: and run into telephone poles? Yeah, that was another part
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Awesome man.
