- 0:49Happy to see you on any talks today, and we got, uh, beautiful Bex Betman
- 0:54today with us, uh, welcoming Bex.
- 0:57Hi.
- 0:57Nice to be here.
- 0:59Yeah, nice to meet you too.
- 1:01Uh, so hope you're doing well today.
- 1:03And, uh, let's start, uh, from where, where are you from, first of all?
- 1:08Uh, because I, I can see you good morning, also as I in Kazakhstan
- 1:12and it's, uh, 6:00 AM right now.
- 1:15Um, well, I'm from New Zealand and we're a little island in
- 1:19the Pacific Ocean, miles away.
- 1:21And yes, it is one, uh, 1:00 PM here Friday.
- 1:25So the future looks good, everyone.
- 1:27Yeah.
- 1:28Yeah.
- 1:30Yeah.
- 1:33So yeah, it's winter for us.
- 1:35That's nice.
- 1:36Uh, so let's start with basic, uh, so how you get into motor sports,
- 1:41how you get involved into this.
- 1:43Uh, so where your, uh, journey started.
- 1:46Um, I sort of had no say in it when I was younger.
- 1:49My dad was a mechanic and I was just sort of brought up around cars and
- 1:54then my stepfather was the same.
- 1:56And I sort of grew up at the Speedway Track, which is a dirt
- 2:00track here for um, new Zealanders.
- 2:02And then as I got older, I was sort of determined I didn't really like
- 2:06Speedway as much and I wanted to give the tar sales stuff a bit of a go.
- 2:10So I think even as a young teenager, we all had cars and were driving around
- 2:14and we all sort of, um, we're a country with a lot of, um, Japanese cars.
- 2:19Mm-hmm.
- 2:19So in the early nineties.
- 2:20So we sort of had every Japanese car available and that's sort
- 2:25of what we grew up driving.
- 2:26Honda Civics.
- 2:28Mm-hmm.
- 2:28Yeah.
- 2:28The old sky.
- 2:30Yeah.
- 2:30I learned to drive in my mom's skyline, so it was kind of just stemmed from
- 2:34my childhood really, of what options were there for us to drive around in.
- 2:39And being a girl from the nineties, we all drove manuals.
- 2:43Mm-hmm.
- 2:43And.
- 2:44That's sort of where it started.
- 2:46That's really cool.
- 2:47You know, I think that, uh, some people will be jealous that you got
- 2:50all these, uh, Japanese cars and, uh, they, uh, really, you know,
- 2:54available not really far away from you.
- 2:57It's really cool, uh, because I bet so many people, like in
- 3:00United States and Europe also, uh, struggling to find a decent like
- 3:05skyline or something like this.
- 3:07So it's really cool.
- 3:08Yes, they definitely do.
- 3:10We didn't sort of realize how great we had it back in the day.
- 3:13Mm-hmm.
- 3:14And like back then you wouldn't realize, like with the internet
- 3:17now, everyone knows everything.
- 3:18Back then you didn't realize actually how fun it was to be honing around
- 3:22and what we were growing up in.
- 3:24Mm-hmm.
- 3:24And as I say, my daughter, her, her daily driver now is a skyline.
- 3:30So they're still very common here.
- 3:32Mm-hmm.
- 3:33And we wonder what.
- 3:33Yeah, we, we know now why they get a bit jealous 'cause they are great with cars.
- 3:39We get jealous.
- 3:39We didn't get a all muscle cars.
- 3:42That's true.
- 3:44Okay.
- 3:44And also another one thing you, you told me that, uh, you got dirt ovals.
- 3:50In New Zealand, uh, this is really surprising me because, you know, usually
- 3:54you're thinking like, oh, in United States, uh, this kind of racing, this
- 3:58category is really popular, but you're not thinking that somewhere else on, on
- 4:02our planet, uh, this can be popular also.
- 4:05So can you tell me more about the dirt rolls and, uh, like how people
- 4:10get, get here and, uh, like how big the community in New Zealand also.
- 4:16Speedway is huge in New Zealand.
- 4:18Um, there's a lot of sponsors and all sorts that go into Speedway here.
- 4:23Um, basically every town in New Zealand has a speedway track as to how
- 4:28big depends on the size of the town.
- 4:30Mm-hmm.
- 4:30But there's always dirt tracks.
- 4:32New Zealand for people to go on.
- 4:35Depends how well, how big your budget is really in terms of a lot
- 4:38of motors sport in New Zealand.
- 4:40But I don't have a lot to do with the Speedway community now.
- 4:44But the events that I've done out at Speedway recently
- 4:46are the demolition Doobies.
- 4:49Mm-hmm.
- 4:49So you get an old car.
- 4:50Normally an old Japanese car, sorry, America, but um, and you hang around, they
- 4:56put a ramp in it and you go over the ramps and you crash into each other pretty much.
- 5:00And that's done on the dirt track and I love it.
- 5:04They do one here on Boxing Day, and that's my biggest stress
- 5:08relief at the end of the year.
- 5:09Year.
- 5:09Mm-hmm.
- 5:09Was to go out and just match up a car and drive around in circles,
- 5:13not not care in the world.
- 5:15After those you come on.
- 5:19Oh,
- 5:22so yeah, no, dirt racing is very big here.
- 5:25Yeah.
- 5:26Uh, sprint cars mainly, there's a lot of money tied up in the sprint cars
- 5:29here and I think my uncle used to actually build them some for some time.
- 5:34And, um, no, it's just, I sort of steered cleared a, because once
- 5:38I found my we community, I, yeah.
- 5:41Sort of fell in love with what I do now.
- 5:43Yeah.
- 5:44But no Nelson's Speedway, Speedway around.
- 5:47I better say that for my cousin.
- 5:53Yeah, I can agree with you about, uh, demolition derby.
- 5:56I didn't try this in real life, but I tried so many times in breakfast with
- 6:00community and with other streamers.
- 6:02It was, uh, like ton of fun.
- 6:05So it's really cool.
- 6:07Uh, category.
- 6:08I like it.
- 6:10Highly.
- 6:10Yeah.
- 6:11Highly recommend trying one.
- 6:14All right.
- 6:14And stressful, as I'm aware you with Mitsubishis right now with evil.
- 6:20Yeah.
- 6:21And, uh, so what drew you into, uh, that car and, uh,
- 6:26like switch sky into this one?
- 6:28Wow.
- 6:29My Evo, I have three daughters.
- 6:31Mm-hmm.
- 6:33Mitsubishi Evo.
- 6:35Mm-hmm.
- 6:35Is a reliable family car,
- 6:42reliable.
- 6:42I will refuse to have a people mover or a big wagon.
- 6:47When I had daughters, I'm like, no, you'll never see me drive people
- 6:50mover like a big car, like a. Mm-hmm.
- 6:53And I considered my Evo first off to be a good family car.
- 6:58Mm-hmm.
- 7:00Needed a bigger motor, it needed a bigger turbo.
- 7:04I needed to modify it, and then it became not such a reliable family car.
- 7:10Mm-hmm.
- 7:12That's really cool.
- 7:12So yeah, my journey.
- 7:14Yeah.
- 7:16That's nice.
- 7:16You, you balance with, uh, with motor sports and, uh, family life and evil.
- 7:22Just perfect car for this.
- 7:26I dunno, my daughter might disagree about the room in the back seat, but
- 7:34she might not agree.
- 7:36But we managed to squeeze the car seats in and yeah, they, they had a ball.
- 7:44Years, no.
- 7:46Yes.
- 7:47Cards prior to the poor Evo, but um, yeah, it's boroughs.
- 7:52As I say, we're very Japanese car orientated here.
- 7:55Mm-hmm.
- 7:56Yeah, everything was sort of Japanese.
- 7:58It was just a normal car that you would drive every day.
- 8:01Mm-hmm.
- 8:02Um, the trucks like a Toyota, the Toyotas, again, Toyota had a Land Cruiser.
- 8:07Mm-hmm.
- 8:07UX has a Toyota Hilux.
- 8:11So yeah, they're very common here.
- 8:13We've had several arguments with the Americans on what we call the vehicles.
- 8:17Mm-hmm.
- 8:18Because they all have different names for all these different vehicles.
- 8:24Yes.
- 8:25All right.
- 8:26And, uh, you actually start, uh, to take apart in time attacks, uh, events.
- 8:32Uh, so can you tell me more about this also?
- 8:35That seems to be my genre of racing at the moment is the time attack.
- 8:39So it's one lap.
- 8:40One lap matters.
- 8:41Mm-hmm.
- 8:42So you do need power that has got enough power.
- 8:46That's all to do with the arrow and the downforce and how you can quickly
- 8:49get that one as quick as you can.
- 8:52So if you blow up after that lap, who cares?
- 8:57Yeah.
- 8:58With my background being first off drag racing, I built my
- 9:03evo say for, um, drag racing.
- 9:05Mm-hmm.
- 9:06So my goal is to do a ten second quarter mile.
- 9:10Mm-hmm.
- 9:10So we do quarter miles here.
- 9:12That's a 10 10 like and fast and furious ten second run.
- 9:15Mm-hmm.
- 9:15So I did ten second run and then I was like, oh, that goal's done.
- 9:19What do I do now?
- 9:21So I went into more time attack 'cause I like running, doing laps.
- 9:25Mm-hmm.
- 9:26So that was sort of how we built the time attack car really.
- 9:31And I like the engineering side of it in terms of like the body and the
- 9:35function of the cars and vehicles.
- 9:37Mm-hmm.
- 9:37So I. Lot of time sort of designing different parts of it and different
- 9:42downfall, different ways to mm-hmm.
- 9:44Make it faster.
- 9:44Pretty much.
- 9:45Yeah.
- 9:48That's nice.
- 9:49Uh.
- 9:50Was it how I got involved with, yeah.
- 9:52Uh, was it really hard for you to like switch categories and, uh, actually, uh,
- 9:59get used to, uh, this fast times with, uh, with corners with everything and working
- 10:04on the corners, working on your line and, uh, to be, uh, the fastest on track?
- 10:09Yeah.
- 10:10I'm still working on it.
- 10:11Mm-hmm.
- 10:13Yeah.
- 10:14But yeah, I think you can never, ever stop learning or never stop progressing
- 10:17with it with yourself and with the car.
- 10:20Mm-hmm.
- 10:20I've had issues years and years with the car, and then that's made me
- 10:25fail as a driver because when the car's not playing ball, neither am I.
- 10:29So when you go home and your car's had a bad day, so have I. Mm-hmm.
- 10:33And then when you are on.
- 10:35Car's not, it's heartbreaking, but yeah, it comes with the territory and sadly
- 10:41it comes with your budget too, here.
- 10:43And I'm really happy to have a few sponsors on board who have been
- 10:46great and getting the car running and keeping things going, keeping me going.
- 10:51Mm-hmm.
- 10:52And.
- 10:54Like you couldn't do it here in New Zealand without a bit of help and yeah.
- 10:58That's how a lot of people here end up just going out street racing.
- 11:01They probably do in every country.
- 11:03Mm-hmm.
- 11:03But I say to anyone, just stick at it.
- 11:06Keep going.
- 11:07And you, you get there, you learn a lot as you go.
- 11:10Mm-hmm.
- 11:11I think, you know, racing and like motor sport is so expensive
- 11:16everywhere and it's really cool that you having the support, uh, people
- 11:22around you, support you in your, uh.
- 11:25Like racing career, let's say like this.
- 11:28Uh, and it's, it's really nice.
- 11:30Uh, can you tell me more about, uh, how is it for you to race with your daughters?
- 11:35Uh, so you mentioned, uh, before that, uh, they also race and, uh, how is it?
- 11:41Um, my youngest, she's a twin.
- 11:44She's just getting involved in it because I do a lot with the drifting.
- 11:48Mm-hmm.
- 11:49With helping.
- 11:50But she wants to be the driver, so she's determined.
- 11:54She's only just turned 16, so she has only just really got her actual road license.
- 11:59Mm-hmm.
- 12:00And she doesn't.
- 12:01Events are motors, so it learns a lot of cone work.
- 12:05Teaches her how to maneuver the car and handle it.
- 12:08And she's progressing that really well this season.
- 12:10And she's actually won the fastest female, I think it was
- 12:14for the season, in her events.
- 12:16So she's stoked with that.
- 12:17So she's gonna keep going and progressing.
- 12:20Mm-hmm.
- 12:20And then.
- 12:21And yeah, she will move into drifting and, but sadly, I just, it's, it's the budget.
- 12:29Understand she's, she's doing this,
- 12:34it's fantastic.
- 12:35But yeah, you can only enter so many things before you just can't afford.
- 12:41So we spend on.
- 12:45But as I said to her, that's how you learn.
- 12:48That's how you learn.
- 12:49When she breaks something, I would like her to be able to help fix it.
- 12:52Mm-hmm.
- 12:52Not just hand it to someone else.
- 12:56So yeah, she'll learn the hard way.
- 12:58All right.
- 12:59Uh, so how you balance, uh, being a parent, uh, also like mentor and, uh,
- 13:08like racing driver with your daughters, how you balance this in your life?
- 13:13Well, I'm sort of the mom that if I can afford to do it, I'll probably say yes.
- 13:18Mm-hmm.
- 13:19There's really nothing my girls have thrown at me that I've gone,
- 13:22oh no, I won't let you do that.
- 13:24Mm-hmm.
- 13:24So, anything they wanna, this one's laughing at me.
- 13:30Have I just said no to you?
- 13:33Can I go to America?
- 13:34Yeah.
- 13:35Can I go to America?
- 13:37Yeah.
- 13:38Yeah.
- 13:39I think, yeah, I, I would never say no to my girls.
- 13:42There's not a lot that they'll come at me with that.
- 13:44I'll go, oh, actually no, we're not gonna do that.
- 13:47Mm-hmm.
- 13:48And I think that's right in them.
- 13:49It's given them their independence and it's teaching them they
- 13:53have to earn it however.
- 13:54Mm-hmm.
- 13:56I think they can give everything a go.
- 14:00I mean, some things are gonna be very risky, but I'm yet to get a
- 14:03moment with them where I've gone, oh no, we better not do this.
- 14:06Mm-hmm.
- 14:07Because, I mean, for me, they see me do it, so I think, well they, I
- 14:13might as well let them do it too.
- 14:14Mm-hmm.
- 14:15Yeah.
- 14:15It's molded when a bit older to go out and get jobs, careers to then go, Hey, I don't
- 14:22think nothing's gonna hold them back.
- 14:24Mm-hmm.
- 14:25There shouldn't be an obstacle.
- 14:26For anyone to do it.
- 14:27So you, I look at myself too, like, um, I'm my biggest critic.
- 14:33Mm-hmm.
- 14:33So I'm the only person in my life that often goes, oh, I shouldn't do that.
- 14:37When everyone else is saying, go for it.
- 14:38Mm-hmm.
- 14:39So to them, I'm.
- 14:41All the ones saying don't do it.
- 14:43'cause I probably know that inside they saying, should I be doing this?
- 14:47So I think the best way is to say it and do it.
- 14:51She often only dents a panel or two or what did she break the gearbox?
- 14:55Yeah.
- 14:59They're still making gear boxes for MX five, so that's all right.
- 15:02Mm-hmm.
- 15:06All right.
- 15:07Uh, tell me about your, uh, favorite racing events, which you take part in and,
- 15:13uh, maybe together with your daughters.
- 15:15Also, like the same track.
- 15:17There's so many.
- 15:19There's so many.
- 15:20It's whether I'm helping out with the event, being an official mm-hmm.
- 15:24My daughter comes along down and helps me with the drifting events for drifting.
- 15:29I've sold my drift car.
- 15:30We are building another one though, so coming out of a timer.
- 15:34But, um, my daughter comes along and she runs the grid, so she helps get the
- 15:40drivers ready to go and do their thing.
- 15:43It's just great that she's out there helping me too.
- 15:46But the events themselves, there's so every season, every event's different.
- 15:50Every event someone else wins.
- 15:53There's, you can have the same winners, same losers.
- 15:57You get your favorite drivers and whatnot when you're helping out,
- 16:00but you can't play favorites.
- 16:01Mm-hmm.
- 16:02But, um, so you make different memories every time.
- 16:06And I love just seeing every other person out there when they win,
- 16:09all their crew, come together.
- 16:11And how they celebrate.
- 16:12Mm-hmm.
- 16:13And you just become part of that vibe too, like when they'll
- 16:16celebrate and when they're about to win, especially in drifting when
- 16:19it's down to like the top four.
- 16:20Mm-hmm.
- 16:21And they're going into battles.
- 16:23You just become part of that scene.
- 16:24You just become part of that love that you want 'em to win.
- 16:27Like you cry afterwards when they win and you partners the kids, all your
- 16:34kids come together and just have an awesome time watching dad or mom.
- 16:38There's some lovely moms out there with their kids out there too.
- 16:40Mm-hmm.
- 16:42And it's just such a community, such a vibe to be part of,
- 16:45to watch other people win.
- 16:47Then I go him smiling because I'm like, wow, he's just had the best day ever.
- 16:50Mm-hmm.
- 16:52And then now my daughter's doing it too, and I can see that in her as well,
- 16:56that she's just happy for other people to be out there doing it and she's
- 17:00happy to support them and then go, wow, I'm, I'm gonna do this one day too.
- 17:04Mm-hmm.
- 17:05And then she'll get the support too.
- 17:07So it's really awesome to be part of.
- 17:11But I must admit, the latest event we went to, and they call
- 17:14it Highlands Motorsport Park.
- 17:17Mm-hmm.
- 17:17It's a very, very nice looking.
- 17:19It'll be, if we got ever got F1, it would be where we put
- 17:22the F1 here in New Zealand.
- 17:24Mm-hmm.
- 17:25And it's, they don't like drifters though.
- 17:27But this one event, they finally opened it up for a drift day and the track
- 17:32got absolutely shooted up in tires.
- 17:35Mm-hmm.
- 17:36But.
- 17:37Day ever.
- 17:38And my daughter got to interview one of the, the famous guy who hosted a Mad Mike.
- 17:43I dunno if you know him.
- 17:44Um, a lot of people might know.
- 17:46Mad Mike.
- 17:48Mm, yeah.
- 17:48Yeah.
- 17:49My daughter.
- 17:49I know him.
- 17:50Do you know him?
- 17:53And my daughter interviewed his son.
- 17:55She always had this goal.
- 17:56I want to talk to him and ask him some questions.
- 17:58Mm-hmm.
- 17:59And he was more than happy for her to, to him.
- 18:01So she's topped her bucket list, so she needs some more goals.
- 18:05Mm-hmm.
- 18:07Yeah.
- 18:09So that was a very good event to go to and be part of.
- 18:12Yeah.
- 18:13Mm-hmm.
- 18:16It's nice that you got, uh, seems like really friendly and
- 18:19like family, family based, uh, community in New Zealand and racing.
- 18:23Uh, it's really cool, uh, because I think it's, you know, it's really warm and, and
- 18:29cozy when you got, uh, families and just, uh, it's really, uh, good atmosphere.
- 18:35You got around.
- 18:36Uh, it's, it's really nice.
- 18:38Oh, it is.
- 18:39Yeah.
- 18:39And that's, yeah, that's sort of the whole part of it that we do enjoy.
- 18:43Is that you can go out there with the family, with a group, a
- 18:45group of your friends, your pet crew, and just have a good time.
- 18:48Really?
- 18:49Yeah.
- 18:50It does sort of become way fast and furious families.
- 18:56As we, we talking here a lot about, uh, you know, how to be a girl in,
- 19:02uh, motor sport community, in racing community, uh, how is it for you,
- 19:06uh, to be mom with daughters, uh, in this racing community in New Zealand?
- 19:12Uh.
- 19:13Like, uh, do, do you, uh, have any issues or maybe, uh, like no issues with this?
- 19:22I don't as such, but I know it probably does happen out there.
- 19:27But if you go along to an event and your main focus is just to have
- 19:31good time, enjoy yourself, compete, help out, it doesn't matter whether
- 19:36you're male, female, cat, dog.
- 19:38Mm-hmm.
- 19:39I think New Zealand.
- 19:41I don't think we have this as much.
- 19:43I may be wrong.
- 19:44There could be people out there that do experience the female thing, but I
- 19:48think in our community you are respected.
- 19:50If you get out there and you're just doing what you wanna do.
- 19:53Mm-hmm.
- 19:53Once you put the helmet on, doesn't matter what's between your legs, literally.
- 20:00Earn that respect for men and women and you're just out there doing it because
- 20:04you genuinely love what you're doing.
- 20:06Mm-hmm.
- 20:07So I'm, but it probably does happen, but I wanna say maybe not
- 20:12so much in the actual racing sector.
- 20:14Mm-hmm.
- 20:15I'm guessing in the cast.
- 20:17No, like we meet some things that may do, but I go to meet some,
- 20:22we, um, women, men, we all just have a really good time as well.
- 20:25Mm-hmm.
- 20:26And yeah, I think very lucky in New Zealand that we haven't got that stigma.
- 20:30Mm-hmm.
- 20:31Our stigma is that you, um, basically us old Japanese JDM people, we get a bit
- 20:37ganged up on by the muscle car people.
- 20:39Mm-hmm.
- 20:40I think New Zealand's conflict is what you drive, not who's driving it.
- 20:45Mm-hmm.
- 20:48Yeah.
- 20:48And playing with the different racing, like the Speedway boys
- 20:52don't like, you know, people.
- 20:54So I think that's our biggest battle in New Zealand is
- 20:57that we're a little country.
- 20:59We've got some very talented drivers here, but, um, yeah, I think
- 21:03it just matters what you drive.
- 21:05You get a bit ganged up on when you're driving EVO and not a V eight.
- 21:09Mm-hmm.
- 21:10All right, so you got more be battles about, uh, what's
- 21:13better, like Subra Mitsubishi.
- 21:15Yeah.
- 21:17Yes.
- 21:18That is horrific.
- 21:19Those are the worst.
- 21:23This is actually really, yeah.
- 21:27You know, it's, it's really nice because I've been into carting from nine years
- 21:31old and then I've been into open wheelers and formalists, and I can tell you that,
- 21:37uh, carting and open village community.
- 21:40Really toxic.
- 21:42So they really care about like, oh, you, you like overtook me.
- 21:46Like, oh, that, that's girl.
- 21:48Oh no.
- 21:49Something like this.
- 21:52Yeah.
- 21:52Even our open wheeler, boys and girls, there's a lot of females
- 21:55coming through from New Zealand.
- 21:57Mm-hmm.
- 21:57There's some awesome talent.
- 21:59Our country, not to brag, but in both sixes and in a lot of
- 22:05competition, we've got a lot of people hitting off to like mm-hmm.
- 22:08F1 or whatever you call early F1 development teams and that.
- 22:13Mm-hmm.
- 22:13There's a lot of Kiwi girls and boys coming to.
- 22:16Yeah.
- 22:17So I think if you can overtake anyone, just just do it.
- 22:19Make the pass.
- 22:23Yeah, it's really nice.
- 22:24You know, I moved to sim racing and, uh, I kind of see the same
- 22:28thing as, uh, you know, a lot of people, uh, racing in sim racing.
- 22:32And, uh, particularly I'm in a racing and.
- 22:35Like, you know, people usually really welcome to newcomers and, uh, they trying
- 22:41to help you, trying to give you advice, and it's really easy to get into endurance
- 22:48team if you want, uh, to be a part of it.
- 22:50And, um, yeah, I'm just, I, I really enjoy this compared to
- 22:54real life racing, which I had.
- 22:56Uh, but once again, there was, you know, really competitive cars,
- 22:59really competitive, uh, open wheelers and yeah, people, uh, you know.
- 23:04Like fighting for their life on the track.
- 23:08Oh yeah.
- 23:08It's a battle every day.
- 23:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:11Something like this.
- 23:12Yeah.
- 23:14Was mostly with the car.
- 23:15The car has to perform.
- 23:17Mm-hmm.
- 23:17You do have to know what every noise is.
- 23:20Why is it doing that?
- 23:21What's wrong?
- 23:22How's this working?
- 23:23Mm-hmm.
- 23:25So you do, you have to spend hours behind the scenes with it too working.
- 23:31Or Yeah.
- 23:33So yeah, your pet crew are your best helpers.
- 23:37You're just the driver.
- 23:38Mm-hmm.
- 23:38But they make everything work for you.
- 23:40Yeah.
- 23:40You're lost without your helpers.
- 23:42Mm-hmm.
- 23:43Yeah.
- 23:43Fingers.
- 23:44And I do, I, I take off to all you some races 'cause I am shit.
- 23:52Yeah.
- 23:53The ripples, nothing feels quite realistic enough.
- 23:57And I, I, I'm, I'm, shit,
- 24:01we wanna get one so that my daughter can learn.
- 24:04The girls are like convincing me that it's a good move.
- 24:07Mm-hmm.
- 24:10Oh, we had a group of drifters, get real drifters, get on them for a competition
- 24:14night and yeah, we, we were, shit.
- 24:19Yeah.
- 24:20You know.
- 24:20Um, I'm just thinking that, uh, you got, uh, really good involved, uh, from, uh,
- 24:25GDM, uh, culture from Japan and, uh.
- 24:29Actually, anime is really popular in, in Japan as well.
- 24:32And you know, they really don't care about like, who's, uh, behind the helmet, as you
- 24:38said, and just take, take care about cars.
- 24:41Yeah.
- 24:43Yeah, you get picked on for what color or what brand you represent most.
- 24:47Alright, I got it.
- 24:51Uh, we have big competition over what ECU you run
- 24:57and what tire.
- 24:58If you're not running a certain tire, you.
- 25:03All right.
- 25:03And speaking about cars, uh, are you working on a car together
- 25:08with your daughter or like someone help you from your family?
- 25:13Like, how you doing this?
- 25:15Just one car or the lot?
- 25:18Uh, like all cars, which you got, how, how you prepare them for competition.
- 25:25Well, at the moment I've got one another Evo being built.
- 25:29Mm-hmm.
- 25:29And that's gonna be a dedicated track car.
- 25:32Mm-hmm.
- 25:32Because my car currently is road legal to an extent.
- 25:35Mm-hmm.
- 25:36But now I've decided, right.
- 25:37I wanna push myself that much further.
- 25:39So I need a dedicated track car.
- 25:42So that's, um, at tuners now, so that's not far off being complete
- 25:46and I've got a lot of the body work to still complete with that.
- 25:49So that's when I'm hoping that my daughter, she's taking an interest
- 25:52in it, so she's looking at jumping on board too and just helping out.
- 25:56Mm-hmm.
- 25:57Just learning a lot as she got.
- 25:59Because then the next car we are building is in Nissan.
- 26:01Nissan 180.
- 26:03I've always wanted to own a dedicated track, one of those, and we've got one,
- 26:08and we're just gonna build that up over summer, which will be your guys' winter.
- 26:12Mm-hmm.
- 26:13And, um.
- 26:14And that's gonna be basically her, her and my drift car to start using again.
- 26:18Mm-hmm.
- 26:19So that's on the build.
- 26:21Her actual dedicated track builds.
- 26:24And then my daughter's got an MX five that's still, she races that now.
- 26:28So that's what she's using.
- 26:30Um, so then now we just need to tidy that up a bit for her because when
- 26:35she does get her actual road license, she'll be driving it on the road.
- 26:38Mm-hmm.
- 26:39So she's gonna be learning a little bit more about.
- 26:41How to fix that and correct things with it.
- 26:43And, um, she busted her radiator, so she actually did that.
- 26:47I watched, but she did the bulk of it by herself.
- 26:50Mm-hmm.
- 26:50So at 15 she was turning, when you break something, you need to fix it.
- 26:57Yeah.
- 26:58But, um, the EVO builds sort of taken up a lot of our funds this year.
- 27:03Mm-hmm.
- 27:03So that's why I haven't been.
- 27:05Racing, but I've been doing more of the official duties this season.
- 27:10But, um, not everyone's very excited for this Evo to come out, so I'm excited.
- 27:14Too nervous.
- 27:15You're always nervous when you got a new car.
- 27:18It's like when you go somewhere and you hope you've worn the right
- 27:20outfit kind of thing, I guess.
- 27:22Mm-hmm.
- 27:24It's a lot of pressure on getting the right color or the right.
- 27:26Oh.
- 27:30Can't turn up for too many events with the same card.
- 27:32Be like wearing the same dress again again.
- 27:35Mm-hmm.
- 27:37Oh, that old thing.
- 27:38Oh, she needs a new one.
- 27:44So, no.
- 27:45So there'd be a lot happening for us over summer.
- 27:47Mm-hmm.
- 27:48Yeah.
- 27:49No.
- 27:52All right.
- 27:53Uh, what color are you planning to dye your, uh, evil?
- 27:58Or maybe it's already in the, in, in color.
- 28:02Yeah.
- 28:03Um, we've ganged with a sort of a family color theme.
- 28:07We've thought my current VO is the gray, like the nto.
- 28:10Mm-hmm.
- 28:11Um, Audi Gray.
- 28:13Mm-hmm.
- 28:13So I've had that color on that one, but I've gone with just black.
- 28:17Mm-hmm.
- 28:18Pouring old black.
- 28:19But I'm a bit annoyed because I've also done a lot of like powder
- 28:24coating and spray painting to master a fluro yellow, so that stays.
- 28:29Mm-hmm.
- 28:29It's a very hard to get unless you're wrapping them.
- 28:32So I've gone, right.
- 28:33I wanna go fluro yellow.
- 28:34So I've done helmet, I've done a lot of all my gear, and then I hate to say
- 28:39it, but now I've seen Orlando Norris is walk rocking flu yellow, isn't he?
- 28:47Son and he stole my color.
- 28:51Gonna be black with flu or yellow.
- 28:54And then my daughter's doing black and with a green like a mm-hmm.
- 28:58Old greeny color.
- 29:00So yeah.
- 29:01Well we're sticking with black just 'cause it's easy when you dent panel
- 29:04and you break something, you can just quickly spray it black, can't you?
- 29:10Yeah.
- 29:10That, that's really cool.
- 29:11Uh, so you're really practical.
- 29:16Yeah, we have to be, and like I say, with the Japanese cars, they were cheap here,
- 29:22but parts are becoming very expensive.
- 29:24Mm-hmm.
- 29:25So the 180, we haven't gone through too many guards and pieces off it.
- 29:30I like doing a bit of fiberglass work myself, so at least I can sort of.
- 29:35Myself here and there.
- 29:38Two years.
- 29:40All right.
- 29:41So you already already told me about, uh, plans about cars.
- 29:45Uh, what events are you planning to do, uh, when the racing
- 29:48season, uh, will be here?
- 29:50Um, just not aware.
- 29:51You, you said that, uh, uh, it will be summer for you when, uh, it's going
- 29:56to be winter for us and it's, it's actually winter for you right now, right?
- 30:00Yes, we are the middle of winter.
- 30:02Mm-hmm.
- 30:03So winter's, let's build a car time.
- 30:06Mm-hmm.
- 30:06There's not a little on, so my daughter's still doing things
- 30:11throughout the winter season.
- 30:12Mm-hmm.
- 30:13And coming up to summer, not putting my name to a series in, I'm waiting.
- 30:18Mm-hmm.
- 30:19Because there's a lot of d. I can do, so I'm gonna try and get the car
- 30:23dialed in first and sort any little teething issues that I may have.
- 30:27So I might just be doing test days and things in it just to walk, get it used
- 30:31to life and myself again, because I'll.
- 30:36Last summer I had pretty major surgery, so I thought, oh, I'll wait and see if
- 30:40I can bounce back that, which I have.
- 30:42I'm doing good.
- 30:43So, but um, yeah, I won't race a series yet.
- 30:48There is a series here for the endurance racing.
- 30:51Mm-hmm.
- 30:51So I do wanna get an, and then they call a, oh, what would you call SS cup?
- 30:56They call a series, which is basically just open class saloon racing.
- 31:02So most them are like a JDM shower with a motor, and you can
- 31:06sort of be a bit unlimited with your power in your vehicles.
- 31:10So it's sort of like handicapped, if that makes sense.
- 31:12Like a handicapped class racing.
- 31:14Mm-hmm.
- 31:14If I go out there with 800 horsepower, I'm not gonna penalize a dude
- 31:18just in a 200 horsepower car.
- 31:21So it's pretty fair, pretty fair for everyone.
- 31:24And that's sort of based on your lap time.
- 31:26So I'll look at going into something like that.
- 31:29Even in New Zealand, we might be a little country, but it's still a lot of travel
- 31:33to get to the other part of New Zealand.
- 31:35Mm-hmm.
- 31:36So it can cost a lot.
- 31:38So my major plan would be hopefully one day keep one of the cars on
- 31:42the other island, go up north.
- 31:43North we say, because they go up north.
- 31:45So I'll leave one car up there and then have one here.
- 31:48Mm-hmm.
- 31:48To sort of use going forward.
- 31:51We do wanna branch out.
- 31:52We've heard it now New Zealand.
- 31:54I do wanna go up north.
- 31:57Yeah.
- 31:58Yeah.
- 31:59And um, we've, I've talked and spoke with and met a lot of lovely people even within
- 32:03New Zealand, who I haven't met, so mm-hmm.
- 32:06It would be nice to go off and meet all these people and waste them mm-hmm.
- 32:12In my mouth,
- 32:15so, yeah.
- 32:16So there's plenty to do and I, I might be 42, but, um, I think I've still
- 32:20got a few years left in me to do it.
- 32:25I, I, I think that, uh, it does matter, uh, like what age you got.
- 32:30You just, if you got like, uh, physically you can do this and, uh, like you
- 32:35got motivation, this is all you need to go through and to keep going.
- 32:40And in racing, in motor sports or in any other, uh, stuff in life.
- 32:47I think so, yes.
- 32:51Feel 10 years younger kids keep me young.
- 32:54That, that's really cool.
- 32:55Yeah, especially, you know, when you got the, your family, your kids,
- 32:59and the same hobby which you doing.
- 33:02It's, it's great.
- 33:04It's just the dream.
- 33:09We had an event not long ago.
- 33:11I hosted an event and just like a hard park where people come and park up
- 33:14and even my mom came and got involved.
- 33:16Mm.
- 33:23You, you tell me about, uh, endurance event.
- 33:26Yeah.
- 33:26Uh, how long this endurance, uh, will be.
- 33:29I'm just curious because I am just in love with endurance event.
- 33:32I really like, uh, to do this team event in some racing.
- 33:36Uh, because usually working not only going fast, but you also have to save fuel.
- 33:42You have to work on a strategy, uh, work with the, like
- 33:46steam schedule with the team.
- 33:47It's really interesting.
- 33:48Thing, uh, to do all the time.
- 33:50And, uh, so, uh, what kind of format of endurance event, uh, are you
- 33:55planning to take apart in endurance Racing is probably, it is quite
- 33:59big in New Zealand and Australia.
- 34:01Mm-hmm.
- 34:01So like, if you're familiar with series supercars Yes.
- 34:05New Zealand and Australia have supercars.
- 34:07Mm-hmm.
- 34:07So.
- 34:10They race against each other.
- 34:11There's teams.
- 34:12So there's a lot of strategy between the teams.
- 34:15They keep changing the rules.
- 34:16They change rules every season to do with how they race and what they're doing.
- 34:20Every race, I think, has different, like, sort of like F1 two with
- 34:23different fuel, um, uh, pit stop strategies and things like that as
- 34:28to what the race is gonna entail.
- 34:30Mm-hmm.
- 34:31Here in New Zealand, um, we do, it's a south island endurance.
- 34:34I wanna give a go.
- 34:35Mm-hmm.
- 34:36So within the one.
- 34:37Your five different classes.
- 34:39Mm-hmm.
- 34:40So being in an evo, I'll be racing against like brand new McLaren's,
- 34:45the new Aldis, all the Porsche GT threes and, but due to being in an
- 34:50evo, I'll be in the bottom class.
- 34:52Mm-hmm.
- 34:53If you don't mind, 'cause you're still against some really awesome
- 34:55top drivers and the main one they do is one hours and three hours.
- 35:01Mm-hmm.
- 35:01Which is.
- 35:02Standard, pretty standard times for most even our supercar series.
- 35:06But, um, that's what I wanna get involved with more, is doing a
- 35:10little bit more long-term racing.
- 35:12Mm-hmm.
- 35:12But sadly, when you're.
- 35:13Car to be a time attack car.
- 35:16You've gotta definitely change your strategy of how your car's even mate,
- 35:20because my car will last what, two laps?
- 35:22It won't last hundreds.
- 35:25Mm-hmm.
- 35:26It is very much also you and it's down to your car, how your car's gonna
- 35:30be set up and built to handle it.
- 35:32Mm-hmm.
- 35:33So I'm hoping an hour one ago.
- 35:36And then see what, see what happens.
- 35:38That's why I wanna do a lot of testing this season to try and get
- 35:40myself and the car dialed in to go, yeah, I can, I can do this.
- 35:44Mm-hmm.
- 35:45And then go from there.
- 35:47Um, 'cause there's some phenomenal drivers, some phenomenal guys
- 35:50in New Zealand that come out of endurance road racing.
- 35:53Mm-hmm.
- 35:53And that's what we love.
- 35:55We don't have like NASCAR and America, the big ovals, we don't have that here.
- 36:00I'd love that here.
- 36:01'cause that's what I love doing in America, or that's what I
- 36:03loved about going to America.
- 36:05Mm-hmm.
- 36:05But we do road courses here, so to turn corners and do everything like that.
- 36:11And that's the endurance part of it as well.
- 36:14And that's part of it is you have to be physically fit
- 36:16to sit in the car for hours.
- 36:18Mm-hmm.
- 36:20Yes.
- 36:21Um, our legend at the moment is we've got Shane Van Bergen.
- 36:25They call him SVG Open America at the moment.
- 36:28And he's winning all the road courses because he is just, he can turn a corner.
- 36:32He, it's how he breaks, it's how he drives that car that's excelling
- 36:37him against these guys who are just racing oval their whole life.
- 36:41So love him or hate him.
- 36:42He's doing bloody well.
- 36:44Yeah.
- 36:46You know.
- 36:46Like Supercars V eight.
- 36:48Uh, for me, this is like top series in the world, uh, together with like Porsche Cup.
- 36:54Um, because these cars are so hard to drive, like no traction,
- 36:59no a, b, s, and it's really cool.
- 37:01All drivers from Supercars are really fast and, uh, talented.
- 37:07They are.
- 37:08Yes.
- 37:08It's hard to believe that in from two little islands across the Pacific Ocean,
- 37:12we can produce such talented drivers.
- 37:14Mm-hmm.
- 37:15And have such an awesome that Yeah.
- 37:18Can compete against the rest of the world and shock them like they like.
- 37:21He is
- 37:25phenomenal.
- 37:29I remember meeting him one night in the pub after a drifting event.
- 37:39Yeah.
- 37:39But no, no.
- 37:40Endurance is incredible.
- 37:42Yeah.
- 37:42Incredible.
- 37:42And same again, with the vibe of the people that do that as well.
- 37:45Mm-hmm.
- 37:46And you're as strong as your team and those you have around you.
- 37:50Yeah.
- 37:50To sort your car out.
- 37:51Yeah.
- 37:52Or to be picked to drive someone else's car.
- 37:56That would be my goal or for my daughter one day to have someone say,
- 37:59right, can you come and drive for us?
- 38:01Mm-hmm.
- 38:02Yeah.
- 38:03That's incredible for New Zealanders to get an opportunity to do.
- 38:07Mm-hmm.
- 38:08Mm-hmm.
- 38:08Uh, so this endurance went, you said that there'll be one hour in three hours.
- 38:13Yeah.
- 38:13Uh uh.
- 38:14Are you going to drive alone in the car or are you going to
- 38:17have a teammate in your car?
- 38:20Four to one hours.
- 38:21So for this season, for it, you do two one hour races.
- 38:25Mm-hmm.
- 38:25And then there's a three, so you can pick, I mean, I've gotta work out how it fully
- 38:30works, but, um, when the three, you, you can have a co-driver even in the hour.
- 38:36But then the three hour Yes.
- 38:38You, you, yeah.
- 38:38You, you have a co, you have a co-driver as well.
- 38:41So you, the one hour, it's still an hour.
- 38:45It's a lot.
- 38:46Not of a lot.
- 38:49We're probably gonna stick with our, and yes, I do have a friend
- 38:51in mind for the co-driver.
- 38:53Mm-hmm.
- 38:55So my best mate will probably be co-driver.
- 38:58He's happy to do that.
- 39:01His car's definitely built for time attack or um, drag racing.
- 39:04Mm-hmm.
- 39:04So we'll definitely be for this, but it is something that we both wanna give
- 39:09a go and yeah, so we'll probably do a one hour and see how that goes, and
- 39:15then work our way up to the three hour.
- 39:17Mm-hmm.
- 39:18Okay.
- 39:20You, you took part in, uh, like time attack, drifting.
- 39:24Uh, you're planning to do endurance.
- 39:26Yeah.
- 39:27Uh, what other motor sport disciplines, uh, which you
- 39:31secretly wanted to try one day?
- 39:34Like I know maybe, um.
- 39:38Motorcycle racing, maybe some hardcore drag racing in the United
- 39:43States, something like this.
- 39:45I feel like I'm a little bit too old to be getting back on a motorbike now.
- 39:49Mm-hmm.
- 39:50But, um.
- 39:52I honestly, I've never driven in an open wheeler.
- 39:55Mm-hmm.
- 39:57So, yeah, they're here, they race.
- 39:59I've got a friend of mine who her husband does them, and I've always said
- 40:03to her, I said, how much is it gonna cost me to get a drive in one of these?
- 40:07So I'm hoping I can tick that off my bucket list one day.
- 40:10And my daughter would be quite happy in pursuing having a go in one
- 40:14of them too, to see how she does.
- 40:16Mm-hmm.
- 40:17So that's probably my bucket list, is to get in an open wheeler,
- 40:20a formula 5,000, they are here.
- 40:23And there's smaller categories than that, but I'd just like to
- 40:26give it a go in a single seater.
- 40:27Mm-hmm.
- 40:28I've never driven in one.
- 40:30My dream is, of course, NASCAR and the Oval, but it's a lot
- 40:33that'll never come to New Zealand.
- 40:35Sadly, we're not gonna be able to get tracks like that here.
- 40:38Um, the coolest thing was in Vegas going to the NASCAR place.
- 40:42That was very cool to see.
- 40:44Mm-hmm.
- 40:44It was closed.
- 40:45The whole track.
- 40:46We had the whole facility to herself.
- 40:48The lady just said, yeah, go have a look.
- 40:50Didn't have to tell me twice to drive around the oval in the rental car.
- 40:54Mm-hmm.
- 40:56But it'll be cool to go to those events.
- 40:58Yeah.
- 41:02But, um, no.
- 41:03Yeah, definitely the single seater would be a goal of mine.
- 41:06And if my daughter got into one of those and excelled and wanted to
- 41:09keep doing that too, I'd be more than happy to support her with that.
- 41:13Yeah.
- 41:14Mm-hmm.
- 41:16Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're going to like open V because it's absolute
- 41:20different feelings, which you get.
- 41:21I still remember guys, uh, uh, like, uh, came to our box.
- 41:26Uh, they've been driving the Porsche GD three arrest and the
- 41:30racing track to get it with me.
- 41:32Like, uh, we had a practice, um, and.
- 41:36They just, uh, came, came to me and they tried open v uh, this day and they told
- 41:41me like, how you going fast with this?
- 41:44It's, it is like, it's crazy.
- 41:45You, you're sitting, you're sitting on your butt with a tarmac,
- 41:49you know, really close to you.
- 41:50Like, it's, it's crazy feeling.
- 41:53So Yeah, it is.
- 41:54I can imagine.
- 41:54Yeah.
- 41:58Yes.
- 41:58So, no, that, that would be a very cool goal to, mm-hmm.
- 42:01Yeah.
- 42:03One.
- 42:06It is very expensive.
- 42:07You sort of gotta narrow down what you're gonna do.
- 42:10Mm-hmm.
- 42:11Yeah.
- 42:12It's expensive.
- 42:12Yeah, really.
- 42:13Uh, but I, I think worst try it, uh, definitely because completely different
- 42:18feelings, uh, of what you getting from the like road car, uh, compared to it.
- 42:25Can you tell me now, uh, what's, uh, your dream circuit to visit?
- 42:30Uh, like for maybe time attack, maybe some road racing endurance.
- 42:35Uh, so what's your dream track you would like to visit?
- 42:39Like in the future?
- 42:41I would still have to say, uh, more of the NASCAR ovals.
- 42:44Mm-hmm.
- 42:45That fascinate me.
- 42:47Yeah.
- 42:47Yeah.
- 42:48To actually see them race and do what they do, the drafting, do everything.
- 42:53Mm-hmm.
- 42:53Would be fascinating.
- 42:55Yeah, I still, yeah.
- 42:57'cause we don't have that here.
- 42:58Mm-hmm.
- 42:59So it is something.
- 42:59Like, that's so foreign to us that it would be cool.
- 43:04And because I did go to one and I got the buzz just from the empty
- 43:08stadium, to see that packed out for a race would be phenomenal.
- 43:12Mm-hmm.
- 43:12So any of the na, any of them, we went to Vegas.
- 43:16But um, yeah, to go to any of those tracks, Indianapolis, places like
- 43:20that, that would be very cool.
- 43:22Yeah.
- 43:25Alright.
- 43:26And then as my doctor.
- 43:27I have to say, she would say we have to go to every Formula One most.
- 43:34She's a huge Daniel Ricardo fan.
- 43:36Probably have to say that too, for her sake.
- 43:41She would love to see him come back.
- 43:44But yeah, to go, we're gonna go to the Melbourne F1 next year, so mm-hmm.
- 43:48That would be pretty, that'll take that off her bucket list.
- 43:54So yeah, that would be pretty good.
- 43:56All right.
- 43:56And, uh, what track would you like to drive?
- 44:00Maybe, I know, maybe Mount Panorama because, uh, for me, when I'm like
- 44:04thinking about, uh, this part of the world, I've been into Malaysia
- 44:07so many times, it's a punk, absolutely beautiful, wonderful trek.
- 44:12Love it.
- 44:12Uh, but you know, my dream, uh, will be like.
- 44:16Drive Mount Panorama, at least for one lap because it's, uh, so exciting
- 44:20with this app, heels and downhills and also va supercar, uh, racing here.
- 44:27So it's really cool trek.
- 44:28Um, so what, what's your dream track here, like to drive by yourself?
- 44:35Yes.
- 44:35Um, I've driven around there.
- 44:37Yeah.
- 44:38Oh yeah.
- 44:39That's really cool.
- 44:39I'm jealous.
- 44:43Is it's a public road.
- 44:44It's a public hill.
- 44:45So people live there.
- 44:47Mm-hmm.
- 44:47And then they just have the race.
- 44:48It's set up as well throughout the year.
- 44:51But yeah, it is a public road, so the people who live there get
- 44:54awesome views of the Bathurst race.
- 44:57They either go away for the week 'cause it's absolute carnage, like
- 45:01it's Oh, the drinking, yeah, the hang on the racing culture of Australia.
- 45:09So a different breed.
- 45:12Yeah.
- 45:12'cause when I was little, my dad used to go quite a bit too.
- 45:15Mm-hmm.
- 45:16And back.
- 45:17Was always the highlight event of the Yeah.
- 45:20Of the calendar.
- 45:23So, no, um, yeah, that would be good.
- 45:26Again, and, 'cause I was born in Australia.
- 45:29Mm-hmm.
- 45:29So, yeah, I grew up.
- 45:31Yeah.
- 45:31Yeah.
- 45:33So, no.
- 45:34Yes, but I dunno, an individual track, I, I'm still being way
- 45:38away from anywhere in the world.
- 45:41Us Kiwis.
- 45:42Want to go and see all the other world tracks that you guys sort of
- 45:44take for granted or see often enough.
- 45:49Yeah.
- 45:50I've got a friend now who's over in Europe and of course they've
- 45:53gone to a few of the, I'd like to go to that good visit it Goods,
- 45:56wood, the festival that was just on.
- 45:58Mm-hmm.
- 45:59Oh, it, it's Goodwood, isn't it?
- 46:01Goodwood?
- 46:01Yeah.
- 46:02Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 46:03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 46:04I mean, that would be cool to go to.
- 46:07Yeah.
- 46:08Yeah.
- 46:09So it'd be more, not so much a track, but more the event, which would be good.
- 46:13Mm-hmm.
- 46:14Alright, got it.
- 46:15You know, in Australia I like also Philipp Island.
- 46:19Great, great track.
- 46:20Um, you know, not.
- 46:22A big fan of, uh, European tracks.
- 46:25Uh, not a lot of them.
- 46:26Uh, you know, really interesting to drive a thing.
- 46:30Uh, I like App Hills, downhills, uh, tracks like this where,
- 46:34where you got, uh, blind corners.
- 46:36Uh, it's so exciting to raise them all the time.
- 46:39Uh, so yeah, maybe one day I'll go, go to Australia for some racing, uh,
- 46:44because you, you got really cool tracks.
- 46:46Yeah.
- 46:48Yes.
- 46:48My daughter's like, they've been to Flip Island one a few times.
- 46:51Mm. Yeah.
- 46:53And the good news for us here, and I live in Christchurch and our local track, so
- 46:58the track I help, I work at, um, we are getting around the supercars next year.
- 47:04Mm-hmm.
- 47:05So supercar.
- 47:06To our home track.
- 47:08So that's gonna be really good to have it here on the local track that
- 47:12I drive every week sort of thing.
- 47:14Mm-hmm.
- 47:15So to have that event come to us is gonna be really great for next March.
- 47:20Yes.
- 47:23So yeah, I hope we offer them a good, um, good race.
- 47:26Good.
- 47:27Mm-hmm.
- 47:27Our track's very narrow here.
- 47:29Our local track compared to some of the other ones.
- 47:31But yeah, it makes for some interesting driving, some interesting
- 47:34spots to have to try and overtake.
- 47:36Mm-hmm.
- 47:37All right.
- 47:38And, uh, the last one will be.
- 47:41Where people can find you, uh, on socials and, uh, like to follow
- 47:47you because you got a lot of plans.
- 47:48And I'm really curious, uh, to see you in endurance racing and, uh, maybe, maybe
- 47:53even in VA supercar, like in the future.
- 47:57Who knows?
- 48:01Oh wow.
- 48:04A lot of my stuff is quite, um, humorous to say the least.
- 48:08There's a lot of epic fails that go on in the garage.
- 48:12I. Of it.
- 48:16If you can show your failures, then you can definitely show when you succeed.
- 48:20Mm-hmm.
- 48:21Um, my known one is my Instagram.
- 48:23Yeah.
- 48:24I'm also known as b to Miss Prime.
- 48:28Yeah, just uh, drop the link to the chat guys.
- 48:31I've always had a love for Old Optimist Prime.
- 48:34I'm a bit robotic myself.
- 48:36Um,
- 48:39so yeah, so no BEUs Prime.
- 48:41We, we have a TikTok.
- 48:42Me and the girls post a lot of stuff to TikTok and you're only Instagram.
- 48:48At the moment, there's a lot of stuff about them learning to drive on the road.
- 48:51Mm-hmm.
- 48:52Because it's quite challenging now to cross back over from racing on
- 48:55track to learning the road rules.
- 49:00Yeah.
- 49:00So they battle a bit.
- 49:04All right.
- 49:04But yes, I'm not gaming stuff yet, but yeah.
- 49:07One day I'll, I'll take that off my bucket list.
- 49:11You have to.
- 49:14Alright.
- 49:14It was, uh, nice to meet you.
- 49:16It was.
- 49:17So fun to talk with you, and I'm so happy that you got a lot of plans,
- 49:22uh, for your future in your life and you're really motivated about it and
- 49:27also your family involved into racing and it's really, uh, cool to see.
- 49:32Definitely.
- 49:33So thank you so much, Bex.
- 49:35Taking your time.
- 49:36Lovely.
- 49:41I look forward to.
- 49:42Yeah, some more progress.
- 49:45Thank you so much.
- 49:46Uh, guys, thank you so much for watching.
- 49:48Uh, hope you had fun with us.
- 49:49Uh, so we'll see you next time.
