- 0:55Ooh, boy. Saw the grunch where we were up
- 0:59on Mount. Crumpit, out Grump it.
- 1:02Whoo, What are your boys doing plane on Mount crumpit?
- 1:05It's almost Christmas. There's one thing.
- 1:08We don't need its problems with the only person who hates
- 1:11Christmas. The grunch.
- 1:13I'm sorry, mr. Mayor, it won't happen again.
- 1:16Again, I can assure you. Well, I certainly hope not
- 1:20Daddy. Who's the grunch?
- 1:22All right? People, there is no Grand Church
- 1:25problem. Who's the grunch?
- 1:27The grunch, isn't a who he's a. What who doesn't like Christmas?
- 1:33Why not? He never got any gifts.
- 1:37Never never. In the meantime.
- 1:39We'll cast the parts for the whole Christmas play.
- 1:42I suppose you're gonna be Joseph again.
- 1:46Well, if you insist, thank you, Lou, for nominating me.
- 1:49And now for the part of Mary, my wife Betty Boo, who would make a
- 1:56fine Mary? Oh, Lou.
- 1:58I'm so sorry. I've already chosen Martha.
- 2:01May who VA to play the part of Mary?
- 2:04She did such a fine job last year and the year before that.
- 2:08And the year before that moo. I have you down as one of the
- 2:11shepherd's along with Buddy. Well, at least I got a part and
- 2:16D, you will supply the baby Jesus.
- 2:19Again, this year. The angel will be played by
- 2:21Dwayne. Has anyone seen Dwayne?
- 2:24Who son, you mean the rock? Oh, the muscles.
- 2:28Didn't he move to Hula for Nia? He's in all those movies with
- 2:32that little guy. Kevin hoot.
- 2:34Oh well scratches name from the list, any volunteers to play the
- 2:37part of the Angel. Well as the crash to be Angel,
- 2:43my loo your children appear to be little hooligans today.
- 2:46Day. Cindy, the grand cannot be a
- 2:49part of our Christmas play. Why not?
- 2:52Well, because the garage is an awfully me, green, scary
- 2:59machine, he hates everyone. That's why he lives up on the
- 3:03top of Mount. Crumpit all alone.
- 3:06It sounds like he just needs to get saved saved.
- 3:10Yeah, you know, just ask Jesus into his heart.
- 3:13I know what being saved to mean. Cindy Lou, it's just that Well,
- 3:17the grunch cannot be saved. Why not getting God sent Jesus
- 3:21to bring peace and goodwill to everyone.
- 3:23Isn't? That?
- 3:24Why? Jesus died on the cross?
- 3:26According to the Holy Bible, whose soever will call upon the
- 3:31name of the Lord will be saved. It does not say garage so ever,
- 3:36but the Holy Bible also says inhalations 328.
- 3:40There is, neither slave nor free.
- 3:43There is neither male nor female.
- 3:45There is neither who Nor grunch for, We Are All One in Christ.
- 3:49Jesus more crunch. Does it really say that?
- 3:55Well, I suppose Jesus did die for everyone, but who's going to
- 4:02tell the grunch? They don't have to tell him.
- 4:04He'll hear the story of Christmas while playing the part
- 4:08of the Angel. That's true.
- 4:10Well, I suppose we could make the offer, we'll send an
- 4:14official who invitation the grand can't even read.
- 4:19All right, then erhu Christmas play.
- 4:21Rehearsal will take place tomorrow at this.
- 4:23Same time. Everyone come in costume.
- 4:26Same time. Tomorrow everyone in costume.
- 4:34That afternoon. I'm happy to tell the grants did
- 4:38receive a card in the mail, but it left him.
- 4:41Bamboozled wondering who did this deed, because it didn't
- 4:45have pictures, and he couldn't read.
- 4:48And then something happened that hadn't happened before that
- 4:51startled. The grunch.
- 4:53It was a knock at the door. And at first the garage, wasn't
- 4:57quite sure what to do. And then the door opened and
- 5:00there stood, The loo. And the grunge tried to reason
- 5:04why this girl wasn't scared. Could it be?
- 5:07She was different? Could it be that she cared?
- 5:11And he listened intently as she told him that day that the who's
- 5:16wanted him and there who Christmas play?
- 5:25Here's my dorm is who VA? Thank you, Cindy.
- 5:28And how's my little baby Jesus, mom.
- 5:31He's missed you. And I haven't seen you all year.
- 5:35She's got issues. Alright, Whoville, let's get
- 5:40started Shepherds in your places and Axon.
- 5:46What's happening, people? I'll tell you what's happening.
- 5:49Nothing. Why?
- 5:51Because our Angel hasn't shown up for practice.
- 5:54What's who policy for unexcused? Absences during a practice?
- 5:57The missing actors get cut. That's right.
- 6:00They get cut then. I have to recast the parts which
- 6:03only means further delays. Christmas is tomorrow.
- 6:05People. That doesn't leave us much time
- 6:07for error. She'll be here.
- 6:09I know he will nonsense. He's a garage.
- 6:12He can't even read the invitation.
- 6:14I sent him. How do you know he can't?
- 6:16Um, well I did I say he can't read.
- 6:19Yeah, that's what you said. Thank you, buddy.
- 6:22Please just give him another minute.
- 6:24He'll be here. How can you be?
- 6:25So sure. I could see it in his eyes when
- 6:27he heard that he was going to be in the who play?
- 6:31What, Cindy, what are you saying?
- 6:34Did you go see the crotch? I just wanted to make sure he
- 6:38would come. You talk to the grunch.
- 6:41Yes. He's really nice.
- 6:42Once you get to know him. She's lying, the crunches.
- 6:45I mean green scaring machine. You called.
- 6:50Hey, how you doing? Thanks for coming to my
- 6:52audition. Who does your hair?
- 6:54It's fabulous. Oh, this is gonna be the best
- 6:57play Dave ever had crunch you made it.
- 7:00That's right. Cindy Lou.
- 7:01It's showtime who referred who Leawood and that dot dot.
- 7:06Dot dot dot. Martha me?
- 7:10Let's make a hoovy together, Beauty and the crunch.
- 7:15Oh my. Oh that must be Maybe Santa it's
- 7:19baby Jesus. Well, it's really just my doll.
- 7:23We're pretending, it's Jesus, the gift.
- 7:25God gave the world. So everyone could have peace,
- 7:28whatever. Mr. Grunch.
- 7:30It's so good of you to come. I'm mayor.
- 7:32Giuliani mayor. Who lie, wotty Giuliani.
- 7:36I got your invitation. It could have used some
- 7:39pictures. Well, here are your lines.
- 7:41You can stand over there. What?
- 7:44No pictures again. I'm a product of the two.
- 7:47Degeneration. Cindy bring me my lines.
- 7:52I bring you good news of great. Joy for everyone tonight and
- 7:56Bethlehem. The savior is born places.
- 7:58Everyone and action, wake up. This is no time to take a nap.
- 8:08We've gotta play to do. What are you a bunch of lazy
- 8:11animals or something? Cut their Shepherd sleeping on a
- 8:15hillside. The night, the Angels
- 8:16proclaimed, the birth of Jesus, they're acting like they're
- 8:19asleep. They'll wake up.
- 8:20When you tell them about the birth of the Savior.
- 8:23You need a timeout places, everyone and action.
- 8:31I bring you good news. Good news of great.
- 8:34Joy for everyone. Great joy tonight and Bethlehem,
- 8:39the savior is born, savior born for more details, tune into, WHO
- 8:43news at ten cut. I'm one step ahead of you mayor,
- 8:47you know. Shepherd's need to react more.
- 8:50Let me give you some motivation. You're all alone on a hillside
- 8:53in the middle of the night. Suddenly a big green hairy.
- 8:56Angel, appears scares, the heebie-jeebies out of you
- 9:00announces the birth of some baby named savior, something, and
- 9:04what does it mean to you? It's somebody's birthday
- 9:07birthday party. Now that's something to get
- 9:10excited about. Thanks that really helps.
- 9:14Yeah. Thanks.
- 9:15That's good. Mr. Grunch, but the real reason
- 9:18I stopped you was that? I realized you weren't in your
- 9:21angel costume. Angel costume.
- 9:24No one said anything about an angel costume.
- 9:29I have it right here. I refuse to wear a white dress,
- 9:33but the matter with you don't, you know, you're not supposed to
- 9:35wear white after Labor Day. Wait, makes me look sick.
- 9:38But then again every color to makes me look sick because I'm
- 9:41green, but that's beside the point.
- 9:43Take me as I am or leave me. Then I'm afraid we're going to
- 9:47have to Leave. You just like that.
- 9:49Don't you want to take a few minutes to discuss it?
- 9:52No, that won't be necessary. Couldn't we make an exception?
- 9:55Just this once pretty please. Did I say that?
- 9:59I'm sure something can be done. Can't it?
- 10:01Mr. Mayor? We're not even sure if the
- 10:04costume will fit him. Properly Betty could help me
- 10:06make sure it fits properly before the play tomorrow.
- 10:09Well, I suppose just this once I get to be the angel.
- 10:14I gotta be the angel, after all, the reason for this little
- 10:17Escapade is to get the grunch saved, isn't it saved?
- 10:23So that's what this is about. That's what it's always about,
- 10:29isn't it? You want me to become like you,
- 10:33you'll treat your friends members like dogs and your dogs
- 10:37like man's best friend. You have no time for your kids,
- 10:44but plenty of time for your TV. You act one, way and public and
- 10:50then entirely different in private.
- 10:53But if that's what it means to be saved, then I'm not
- 10:56interested. You can keep your Jesus all to
- 11:00yourselves. And I'll go back to my Mountain
- 11:02by myself, cut Marcus late. That's a keeper.
- 11:05Everyone is dismissed Max. We're leaving, huh?
- 11:09Thanks a lot Cindy Lou. And that Cindy Lou is why the
- 11:17garage cannot get saved. Now that he has wasted our
- 11:20entire morning. We'll break for lunch.
- 11:23Everyone be back at 1:00 and don't be late back at 1:00.
- 11:28Don't be late. That's what I said.
- 11:32Where we going to find an angel on such short notice.
- 11:35I have an idea where we can find an angel.
- 11:38Come on, Cindy. Let's go home.
- 11:44How could the grunt ruin? The who Christmas play is what
- 11:48the grunge pondered? This Christmas Eve day.
- 11:51Those blasted. Who's I hate you?
- 11:54Who pose a deadly? Think I need Jesus in my life.
- 11:59And just when he'd given it every thought a smile would
- 12:03appear and uncover his plot. I know just how to get a little
- 12:08Jesus. I'll steal him from Cindy Lou
- 12:12and then Maura, when they try to perform their who Christmas
- 12:15play, there will be no Christ. Child.
- 12:18Where's my cloak? Max?
- 12:22Where are you crossing your path like that?
- 12:24I'm not gonna hit. Brilliant Max at X will replace
- 12:29Christ with an abstract variable.
- 12:31That is totally meaningless. Quick.
- 12:34Give me a piece of wood in a saw.
- 12:35We've got work to do and when I say we I mean you here's a plan
- 12:39cut, the wood into two strips, put a screw through the center
- 12:42and Enid black, hurry. Max.
- 12:44What are you waiting for Christmas?
- 12:46Hmm. I'm a Mean One.
- 12:54The Who's down in Whoville? All brushed the hair put on
- 12:57their jammies and went to bed unaware.
- 13:00That the grand, she would be plotting a who awful plot on the
- 13:04Night Before Christmas. They considered it not.
- 13:10All right, Cindy off to bed. Tomorrow is Christmas.
- 13:15Don't forget your prayers. So Betty.
- 13:17Are you gonna do it? Do what play the part of the
- 13:20Angel? We really need you.
- 13:22Now. Why doesn't Dwayne who sent do
- 13:25it? He's been the angel every other
- 13:27year. I told you.
- 13:29Mr. Hussein moved. Hula for Nia.
- 13:31He made a couple of those who mangy movies.
- 13:33Remember this is your hoop or tunity to be part of the who
- 13:37Christmas play. If I can't be married.
- 13:40Don't want to be in the play at all.
- 13:44Daddy, why does Mommy get upset every year at Christmas?
- 13:49I guess she doesn't get what she really wants.
- 13:53But is it Christmas about the giving?
- 13:55Not the get it? Huh?
- 13:57You say something. What are you doing?
- 14:00Awake? Aren't you supposed to be
- 14:02sleeping? Little girl.
- 14:03Come on back to bed. I can't sleep excited about
- 14:07tomorrow. Huh?
- 14:08Christmas is the best time of year.
- 14:10If you ask me. Dad was.
- 14:12I wrong about wanting to Crunch to get saved.
- 14:15Well, Cindy, some people just don't want to hear about Jesus.
- 14:19I know that. But doesn't God.
- 14:21Want everyone to be saved so they can go to heaven.
- 14:25Well, yeah, so if they did listen, they could get saved if
- 14:29they wanted to couldn't they, I suppose so the Holy Bible tells
- 14:34us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to Every
- 14:38Creature. Doesn't that include the grunch?
- 14:40Yeah. Well, oh, so.
- 14:44That's where this conversation is going.
- 14:46Listen, we've had enough of the garage today to last us until
- 14:51next Christmas. Let's talk about it.
- 14:53Then now go to sleep. Yes, sir.
- 14:59What a girl? It's Christmas Eve and all she
- 15:02can think about is getting the garage saying.
- 15:07Well, the whose World tucked all snug in their beds without even
- 15:11a thought of the grunch in their heads, they whispered their
- 15:14prayers for the grunch. There were none, unless you
- 15:18count, Cindy Lou sprayer. There's one.
- 15:30Jesus. Where are you?
- 15:36There? You are.
- 15:38I don't understand all the hoopla, baby.
- 15:40Jesus is plastic. Oh, well, I'll take the Christ
- 15:44out of Christmas and leave them with a letter x.
- 15:48Wait till they see what I've done.
- 15:50I've changed their Christmas to Xmas.
- 15:55Conch. Is that you who you expecting
- 15:58Shrek? What are you doing here?
- 16:01Um, the ground should been cut by Young cindy-lou with his
- 16:05plan, be discovered or what could he do?
- 16:08How could he explain his presence that night?
- 16:11So he thought of a lie thinking it was.
- 16:13All right. Am I wanted to talk to you?
- 16:18I'm really sorry about today. I just wanted you to hear about
- 16:22how and why? This was born apology accepted.
- 16:26See ya. Maybe you can come and watch the
- 16:28play tomorrow morning. Oh, I wouldn't miss it for the
- 16:31world. So you'll come you bitch.
- 16:34Oh, who am I'll be there? Merry Xmas.
- 16:37Merry Xmas. Don't you mean Merry Christmas?
- 16:41Whatever. Merry Christmas.
- 16:44I'll be praying for you. What did you say?
- 16:47I'll be praying for you. I don't think anybody's ever
- 16:51prayed for me before. What's this?
- 16:55My heart is starting to soften get ahold of yourself.
- 16:59You ruined the play tomorrow. How are you ruined?
- 17:02The play? Oh, you'll see.
- 17:03I mean, I was thinking about ruining the play tomorrow, you
- 17:07know, shooting spit wads at the angel that sort of thing.
- 17:10But now that I've talked to you, I'm not going to shoot any spit,
- 17:14wads at the angel. Good night.
- 17:17Mr. Grunch. I love you, Cindy Lou laid back
- 17:21down and close to Sweet eyes. The grant stood there, fighting
- 17:25a new feeling inside. Then he looked at the doll with
- 17:29a new kind of thought. I should give the dog back and
- 17:35didn't shook his head. Watch this love that I'm
- 17:38feeling. I had not thrown before I need
- 17:42time to think and they walked out the door.
- 17:46Come on Max Max. At last.
- 17:59It was Christmas. The whose favorite day and the
- 18:02grant settled in for The, Who Christmas play.
- 18:05This play would be different with grants special effects for
- 18:09the Christ in who Christmas had been replaced with an ex Grant
- 18:14special effects. I like that as find a good
- 18:17hiding-place Max where we can see everything.
- 18:21Barry, you make a lovely angel. What made you change your mind
- 18:26before I went to sleep. I told God.
- 18:28I was giving him all my worries and cares.
- 18:31It's almost as if my heart was softened overnight.
- 18:34I realized that we're supposed to do everything as unto the
- 18:37Lord. There.
- 18:38You are Cindy, you left your doll laying on the floor by the
- 18:41front door. No, I forgot baby, Jesus.
- 18:44Don't worry. I already gave it to miss who
- 18:46VA. Now.
- 18:46I know why the mayor wants to eat Joseph every year.
- 18:49She's hot. As Mayor of Who-ville like to.
- 19:01Thank all of you for coming to the who Christmas play this,
- 19:04fine, Christmas morn. Let's not forget the real
- 19:08reason. We celebrate this time of year.
- 19:10We remember the birth of our Lord and Savior.
- 19:12Jesus Christ, born King of the hooves.
- 19:20I bring you good news of great. Joy for everyone.
- 19:27Somebody hit me with a spit wad. So I lied just keep going.
- 19:33Uh, tonight, in Bethlehem. The savior is born.
- 19:38Can we see the one born King of the whose baby?
- 19:45Jesus is missing. What do you mean, baby?
- 19:49Jesus is missing. There's just an X an X.
- 19:54How could this happen Cindy? D.
- 19:56Where's baby? Jesus?
- 19:58Um, if you don't mind, could you please not yell at my?
- 20:02Yes, Lou never mind. Cindy.
- 20:07Is this your ex? No, I don't know how it got
- 20:11there. I bet it was the grunch who
- 20:13stole baby Jesus. The crunch last night.
- 20:18So it was the grunch. This is all your fault.
- 20:21Cindy Lou. You've ruined our whole
- 20:22Christmas play. How do you feel now?
- 20:25Huh? Now, hold?
- 20:26On, just the who minute. If anybody has made a mockery
- 20:30out of the birth of Jesus. It's all of us.
- 20:34What? Every year we put on this play
- 20:37and for what? So the same people can play the
- 20:41same parts for the same audience.
- 20:44What's the point? When's the last time someone has
- 20:47gotten saved at one of our plays, the whole reason for the
- 20:50birth of Jesus is to make people's lives better.
- 20:54Well, if anybody's life needs to get better, ER, it's the garage.
- 20:58He lives all alone. Did anyone get him a present
- 21:02this year? Has anyone ever given him a
- 21:05present? The only one I know of that's
- 21:07given him a gift, is God when he sent Jesus, but how will the
- 21:12garage know? Unless someone tells him I'm
- 21:15proud of you Cindy. You tried to get us to
- 21:18understand the real Christmas spirit.
- 21:22I'm proud of you. Lou, now when the grand should
- 21:25the truth of the birth of Christ, his heart, softened war,
- 21:29and tears came to his eyes. And without even thinking, he
- 21:32bowed his grunch head, Jesus Come into my heart.
- 21:37He said, and just like that manger.
- 21:40The first Christmas morn, a miracle inside of the garage
- 21:44heart was born. You see, the birth of the Savior
- 21:47happens again, and again, because God's plan is that Jesus
- 21:52be born in all men. I've got cheese.
- 21:56Jesus. Oh, I love you Max.
- 22:00I love everybody. Give me back, Jesus.
- 22:05I can't give him back. He said he would never leave me.
- 22:09What did you say? Jesus said he would never leave
- 22:11me. I'm not alone anymore.
- 22:14You mean, baby. Jesus.
- 22:15Spoke to you. Not the doll.
- 22:17The Jesus said, I asked to come live in my heart.
- 22:20God. He found you.
- 22:22The garage is saved. The garage is saved.
- 22:27The grunch is see, congrats, don't you show?
- 22:29No, I'm glad you. Please do not wait on this is
- 22:31too much to some sleep. Don't touch me.
- 22:36Mr. Mayor, I'm sorry. I ruined your Christmas play.
- 22:40No hard feelings. Thanks for praying for me,
- 22:45Cindy, and for helping me get the best present ever.
- 22:48I love you. I love you too.
- 22:50Mr. Grunch Merry Christmas, everyone.
- 22:53Maybe he saw mr. Grinch.
- 22:56Tell us what you learned. Well once upon a time, there
- 22:59were shepherds sleeping on a hillside in the middle of the
- 23:02night. When suddenly a big green hairy
- 23:05Angel appeared scared the heebie-jeebies out of them and
- 23:08told him about the birth of the baby Jesus.
- 23:13That was a Christmas that who's all.
- 23:15Remember and they invite strangers now, every December
- 23:20and now every year at The Who Christmas play, It's the grunch
- 23:24that helps everyone who wants to to pray everyone?
- 23:28Bow your heads and pray or I'll hunt you down and gut, you like
- 23:33a fish. Please share fish bites for kids
- 23:37on social media and we really appreciate you taking a moment
- 23:41to rate and review this podcast to help reach more people.
- 23:45Thanks for listening and come back soon for more fish bites.
