Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen, and Zach Kilmerman.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographic location.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's a state of being.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Kelberman Zach.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: First of all hope you've had a great weekend.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of felt like a buy even though it's not a buy like it's been a pretty quiet three days even for you know searching my memory for previous Thursday nights in the
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: And the aftermath after I don't think I've seen it be kind of this quiet.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: But the one thing that has broken through the noise is the conversation surrounding bone mix, where are you with bone now that you've had?
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the last time everyone got to see us together, we were working out our hormones straight up on the gut reaction.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: three days in the in the rear view, though, how are you feeling about phonics?
- 1:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you see this when I got here, chat for the first Sunday and quite a while.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_03]: I got finger nails.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't nod off.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_03]: So it was a quite enjoyable Sunday for me watching other teams win in Luz, knowing the Brock was right into Winner's 7th Street.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_03]: I'm still very much in on Bonix, but the Addendum to that is Chad.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: I can see through the BS.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to blow smoke.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to call him out when he needs to be called out and hold him accountable.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_03]: He wasn't good on Thursday.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_03]: He hasn't been overly good the last couple weeks.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_03]: But I know when he turns it on, he's one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_03]: And still, the Brock was right into leading the AFC West leading the AFC.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: How could I complain too much?
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I was hoping they were going to emerge this week as the only eight wind team, but Indie got it done.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: We could falcons in the wingland.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so, man, Drake may as looking good, Zach, for what it's worth.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we'll talk about that maybe later, but look, here's the thing.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: All echo what you said, Bonyx.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: So much of the conversation is a fan, let's face it, guys.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: It is informed by a resensi bias.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, what have you done for me lately?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: And while Bonix has delivered victories, seven straight, the last two performances in particular on the heels of a phenomenal, like dominant, explosive game against the Cowboys, the last two games have been, the first one just kind of disatisfying against the Texans.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: alarming.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: But Zach within the wider context of his entire tenure as as a Bronco, what we've seen from him, not only does Bonix deserve, in my opinion, the benefit of the doubt here from the naysayers, but also like hey guys, take a breath, a step back, chill out a little bit here.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: let the dude kind of I mean Sean Peyton cut everybody loose Thursday night after the game and said see him Monday.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think even just those three days off alone for Bonix Zach I can do wonders for him because last thing I'll say and I'm serving back to you as Zach Allen said on Thursday I firm his locker after the game.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's like man, I don't think I've ever gone this far into the season play in the Thursday night
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so like, we're tired dude, like, that we're kind of tired.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: We need this little mini by bow does too.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: They've played seven games in 39 days, including a London game chat.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_03]: They've had a sport comebacks.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: They are gassed and you saw that on Thursday night, not to make excuses, but it was a short week.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: It's off turn around.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_03]: Even though it was a home game, divisional matchups are tough and the Broncos just didn't have anything for that.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_03]: They still came out victorious though.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_03]: And I find it funny, the bills, for example, they can enter a trap game like today.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: They played all of a whole day lost.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's all quiet because they have Josh Allen.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_03]: But the Broncos community trap game, they win, and it's a national story because Bonix apparently.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_03]: So again, let them talk, let them hate, we know the Broncos right into, and we know we haven't really seen the best that the Broncos have to offer yet.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_03]: And that's good.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_03]: We want them to peek as the season goes on.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, shout out to the members in the room early like the wrong pro 16 string guy, Raj, hope you're feeling okay, but let's see.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: The process David Young comes in the he's the emblaxes in the he's he will come to to the members here in a few David to you good to see it but Antonio thrown down a super chat it's great to see Antonio Eric is been with us many, many, many moons many years buddy it's great to see you I want to invite you become a member we need you we need you on YouTube says I'm tired of all this negativity in the community it was a short week and the guys haven't had a break the many by will help yet now look.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: On one hand, I think it's fair for people to critique MHH because, you know, Eric broke down a, I think he had about three different articles that were really up close and personal to the offensive issues, one that was really calling out Sean Payton.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Another one that was kind of calling them both out in terms of Zack why Sean Peyton seems to kind of have the handcuffs on Bonyx a little bit and then of course a film breakdown that has done very very well traffic wise just showing why Bonyx struggled the way he did on Thursday night, but just because we're talking about it just because it's coming out in the form of articles and content on the website doesn't mean and even Eric.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think multiple times in each one of his articles because people get so reactionary made it clear.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Look, this is not me saying Bonyx sucks.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is not me saying Bench Bonyx.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is not me saying that Bonyx is not a franchise quarterback.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's our job to cover these little nukes and crannies.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: And right now, it's safe to say Zach Bowe's been in a little bit of a mini slump.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I call it a mini slump because we wasn't that long ago when he was dropping bombs.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's not a full bone, blown, soft, more slump like a lot of people are saying he hasn't really regressed like a lot of people are saying he's a second year quarterback.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: He's in a very tough system and not to make excuses because he's missing throws and his feet were not said and he was jittering all that, but he's not getting a lot of help out from the play calling, from a coaching standpoint, from the past catching standpoint, it's one thing for a sophomore quarterback to make a mistake.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_03]: And that's excusable because he hasn't made that mistake before.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: but for a 18 million dollar a year head coach chat who won the Super Bowl who's been coaching for 30 years to do some of the things that he does and puts the Broncos offense in those positions that if we have to nitpick is where my issue is.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: I am still very high on bow next and I think he's the Broncos quarterback for the next decade.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt, and the Broncos believed that.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing we've seen over the last two weeks in any way, shape or form.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: is causing the Broncos to doubt Botanix, trust on that.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, guys, you gotta remember, what do we got?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: Eight and two, so eight, 18 and what is it?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: 18 and nine?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's Botanix's record in the regular season as the Broncos starting quarterback on the heels of, let's put it in context.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Eight years of,
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: quarterback ineptitude, coaching and competence.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: And even though I credit Sean Payton's act for pulling out eight wins in year one with Russell Wilson, I mean, Bo Nixon's already at eight wins in his second year, you know, going into week 11.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: So let's keep it in context.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: But just little things like, man, he must be pressing, he must be tired, whatever the case may be like, he's not trusting, he's not trusting.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's not mindy.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: his technique like today for example I'm kicking back at Sunday there's no Broncos on today so like kicking back my father-in-law's in town visiting so we're watching the Niners game against the Rams and there's this one play in particular Zach where
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: Mac Jones drops back.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's trying to be pocket guy, but the pressure comes so he spins backward to his left and starts running this way.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: And as the rush converges, he stops, sets his feet, fires.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Bonyx of late, but generally speaking, but especially of late, Bonyx would have spun out of the pocket.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: gone left the rush coming at him and he would have just kind of like chucked it on the run whereas Mac Jones turned set his feet fired it was complete.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now Bonyx is a talented enough quarterback exact where he can get away with a lot of those kind of throws and they'll succeed but if he actually did it in a way that was mindful of his technique he would be even more successful.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_03]: Funny you bring them up because Brock Perti goes down.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone thought he was a top 10 quarterback.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_03]: Mac Jones of all people steps and he looks like a top 10 quarterback coaching coaching coaching.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: I do I wonder what Bonyx would look like under Kyle Shanahan, but it's neither here nor there.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: If we're flashing it back and he won who watched the Giants game today knows that Russell Wilson came in for Jackson Dart not to make it about him.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: He blew a 20 to 10 lead.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_03]: They lost the game.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_03]: Do you want to win or do you want to lose or I don't really care how ugly it looks as long as the block us keep stacking those W's.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: We have the Duchess jumping in off the top of thank you helping us keep the lights on on this Sunday evening.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: We love you.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate you.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Hope you've had a great weekend.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: My friend, Michaela says, Beau has a lot of work to do during this mini by one plant toffee can't be accurate if you don't one plant.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: your the feet.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's what she's saying, right, Zack can't be accurate.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't to get the ball out quicker, use your three, use your core and torso for power.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: Who, right?
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: For stop running backwards, step up in the pocket and five work on your mechanics.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's an article five steps for bone mix to fix things during the many by maybe I'll write that up for you,
- 10:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, thank you so, so much, Michaela and various food here, a very good observations, and I can't say anything is incorrect.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_03]: Not that I'm an NFL coach, not that I know more about quarterbacking than Bo Nix or Sean Peyton, but you do wonder why the fundamentals, why the basics seem on a snap to snap basis look to be a little regressive.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_03]: Not that bow, Nick's has regressed as a quarterback, but the footwork, the pocket presence, just the elementary stuff isn't always driving.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: And then you talk about the the Cowboys game, like you did chat and everything was clicking for Bownik.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_03]: So you wonder why does he take one step forward and then two back?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_03]: Why is it so jackal and hide?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_03]: And he might be on us something there, McCaila.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent points.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm actually not joking because I've been
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: thinking about a bold nicks article.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I wrote one up today that was kind of more generally riffing off of something he said, which I actually want to talk about a little bit later, something he said following the Thursday game that was kind of putting things in my opinion in the in a proper context, but in terms of the genuine concerns within the fan base, I mean, look, I'll give you an example.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: So film breakdown articles,
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: of all the articles that we would publish.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, I've been doing this a very long time now.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: All right, over a decade, film articles as much as nerds like me, Zack, people like some of you, love that kind of stuff.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: And you're gonna read it no matter what it is as long as it's about a Bronco.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Genuinely speaking, they do about 10% of the traffic that a normal article would do, whether it's news or analysis.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because,
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: people see film in the headline, and they perceive that as it's going to be a little bit of work reading this article, so they might scroll past, right, Eric's article Zach about
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: how film illustrates how white people are concerned about bone mix.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's well over 10,000 page views, and it's only a couple days old, which for this right now, you know, that's pretty dang good.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And in fact, it might be the biggest I've ever seen from a film article, and that's saying something.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: So people, my point in that is not the flex, it's congrats to Eric, good job, dude.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: But to illustrate myself, Zach, people are
- 12:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's all I saw on social media over the weekend to kind of exemplify your point chat no matter if the Brock was one no matter if there are one of the hotter teams in the NFL right now one of the best teams in the NFL everyone is talking about bonus and how he sucks and how he's a bust and how Drake may so much better and yada yada yada.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_03]: It's like all the narratives narratives that we heard before are being just on steroids now and that's where Brock's fans minds are at that's where NFL.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_03]: fans, minds, rat, and that's why you're seeing the page views, Chad, that you saw what the error garnicle.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: So like you said, shout out to him for that.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Michaela, love you so much.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for that generosity.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to grab a couple more super chats.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: Then we got a quick matter of business that we got to get to be rat in the house.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, it was so fun hanging out with you a few weeks back at the meeting.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: There he is nestled between the football priest in front of the stadium.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: The YouTube profile pick is firebro.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's straight fire.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Be rat.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: He says our dear member and superstar.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: The hate has to stop.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: Bo isn't playing well.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: But people talking about drafting another QB already, ha ha, come on, good even in fellas, good evening.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right back at your brother and look, that kind of stuff is just, it's out of hand.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: And, and I think honestly, Zach, it's informed by the, I, everyone's a while, bringing this up seems like I had to bring it up a few times lately, but I think it's informed that kind of thing by the trauma of the preceding eight years.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you remove that eight-year dark cloud that has frankly poisoned the soul of Broncos country at large, I think people would still have the measured takes and the patients and what not especially is that when your team is still winning.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like Bonyx has struggled and the Broncos lost to in a row.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: They won both of the games.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm reminded back in 2006, Jake Cultler's rookie season.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: When the Broncos benched Jake Plummer to insert Jake Cultler, Jake Plummer had the Broncos in first place in the AFC West.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: And it was something like 9 or 10 games into the season, something like that.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: And they ended up not only not winning the AFC West, but they backed out of the playoffs and they missed the playoffs.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: The next year, Jake Plummer was gone.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: They traded into Tampa and he said,
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to retire and he stopped playing football.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: So Jay Cutler became the guy.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Trust me, there's a point to what I'm saying here, Zack.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: That next year, how did he do?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Seven and nine.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty brutal.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: And this was with, of course, Mike Shanahan, the guru, everybody trusted at that point.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Shanahan.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: but I don't recall now granted this was preceding the Zach the rise of social media and computing power in our pockets that was more than what it took to even get to the moon.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: But nevertheless, it was like, okay, he's our first round pick.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Let him grow.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't our year.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: The very next year, he earns a probable nod.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos, it still didn't work out for him in terms Mike Shannon got fired at Cetra, but
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: That was before the eight years of just utter depredation.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I do think it's kind of poison people and it makes them a little bit quick to get myopic and panic.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well said, people in this day and age chat, they want instant gratification with every single thing and most importantly, they're quarterback, but I know there was more talk this week because Colin Coward, who's very close with Sean Peyton, he put it out there that Sean might not be a hundred percent sold on bone now.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: He might look at a quarterback in the draft next year.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_03]: you had a mock draft that I saw had the Broncos taking John Matier in the first round in 2026.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_03]: This is only because Bo had a quote unquote bad game.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't hear or see any of this after the Cowboys game or after any convincing Broncos win.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost like it's scripted.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost like it's timed and it's a very unfortunate for Bo who's leading right now in eight wins team, eight and two.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: All right, guys, real quick, smithy and everybody else, we're gonna, we're gonna, well, let's grab, let's grab, well, geez, Louise, be rad.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: We'll grab B-rad, we won't make him wait too long.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Brad.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: Top rope dude.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, bro.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: So generous genuinely helping us keep the lights on buddy.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: He says also I'm hoping that Dobbins can go JK Dobbins, of course.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: We learned after the game.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, after our last podcast act that he had suffered a foot injury.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: you've tweeted a lot about it you can maybe and you had the article for us but he says does be read we need him against kc to my knowledge that we haven't heard anything by way of an update other than he's seeking a second opinion unless something's happened in the last hour or two.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: No, not that I've heard.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, same thing that he's awaiting a second opinion.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: It sounds like it's a lower grade injury fortunately, but it occurred Brad on a hip drop tackle against the Raiders and hip drop tackles are illegal.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_03]: It was in called.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_03]: It was in flagged and Dobbins went off on Twitter as he should have about the NFL properly enforcing hip drop tackles.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, no more when the Broncos return a practice this week and maybe Sean Chad tomorrow will have an update on his conference call.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: The one thing I'll say, I'm not going to count on it when it comes to injuries, but the one thing I'll say about the Dobbins injury is if it does be read, cause him to miss some time, this is kind of how the football fates work relative to younger players, regardless of position, developing, and it could be in other words a good thing for RJ Harvey.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a little bit of a step back in terms of the offense might not be as as consistent run in the ball initially if RJ Harvey is the guy for a gamer to or however long he might miss but it will only accelerate Harvey's developmental curve so it all comes out in the wash either way thankfully this time Zach if Dobbins does miss time they have RJ Harvey.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_03]: The problem with that though is who becomes the number two, Tyler Badeh, who can't even handle the number three role right now.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_03]: So it would be a kind of a flux situation at running back, but fortunately it doesn't seem like it's a season ending injury and we'll know more this week about Dobbins.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: guys, we have so much more to get to, but right now, I'm watching Steelers Chargers on mute while we're doing this podcast because football is in full swing.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was a Sunday without Broncos football, but it's still felt good, right?
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Knowing that your team took care of business three days earlier, so you can just kind of
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: kick back underdog guys with football be in back in the full swing best place to get in on all the action and it's not just football it can be a basketball hockey any sport everything in between so are you ready to get off the bench and into the game that's the question because hockey football basketball whatever it may be underdog is the best place to get in on all the action all season long
- 19:18[SPEAKER_03]: That's right, playing at Underdog is easy, just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like rushing yards, receptions, touchdowns, and more.

- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we've got Smitty in the house.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, buddy, for your patience.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: So as vibes from the fan base, scene low, despite the 8-2 record, did expectations quietly shift?
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: from a couple playoff wins to Super Bowl or bust.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, and that's also part of the nature of Broncos Country Smitty is when everybody's got high expectations.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is one of the winningest franchises in NFL history, eight Super Bowl bursts, three world championships.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: It adds up, Zach.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you also have a head coach who's talking about them being a Super Bowl caliber team and the quarterback being a potential top five guy and Smitty, you know, expectations are always on a sliding scale.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's why going into last year, we would have given anything for the brokers to make the playoffs and they definitely exceeded that end of the scale going into this year with Sean Payton's comments and how they improved talent wise, how they've started the year.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it shouldn't be about just winning 10 games anymore or just making the playoffs.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_03]: eight and two leading the AFC leading the AFC West.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_03]: Now it's getting into the playoffs and making some noise in the postseason.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_03]: That is the expectation.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, the stuff, thank you, Smitty.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: The stuff that was said by Colin Coward.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it says job to stir the pot in a similar way that kind of we do but on a team level.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: By stirring the pot, I just mean you're talking about the issues people care about.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: Although in his case, he's a little bit more of a at times a hot take artist.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's part of what
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: uh, successful and what made his show huge, but when he talks about the Broncos, people pay a little bit more attention, Zack, simply because during Sean Payton's one year,
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: from Nopy and a head coach, he was at Fox, and he became friendly, some say close with Colin Calhard, their friends, and here is what he said.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Quote, Sean Payton is a very impatient guy.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: He also understands the urgency at quarterback unlike a lot of coaches in this league.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder, because the roster, the O-Line is set, the D-Line is set, the pass rush, the receivers, which Sean Payton draft another quarterback.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm dead serious.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Bonyx has regressed badly.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: His completion percentage is now towing that backup quarterback line.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: His passer rating is plummeted.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: He has a significantly worse quarterback this year than last, last thing.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: I've gone from a buy to a hold to a potential sell on Bonyx.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: I've got seven straight weeks of this stuff, close quote.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: Seven straight weeks, what are you talking about, dude?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, first of all,
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: the Dallas games act.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: Second of all, New York gained.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the giants I'm talking about.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: That was rough three quarters, but the magic he conjured in the fourth quarter.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: How many NFL quarterback starters can can do what Bonix did very few.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's had some high water marks, but he's also this season's Zach had some pretty low lows that I will acknowledge.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Colin Coward in that statement I just read is not saying by the way, here's what I'm hearing.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's saying I wonder because what I know about Sean Payton is that he's a very impatient guy.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_03]: How about the fact they probably don't win the Houston game without Vonix's rushing ability Chad and getting him in in position to win that game?
- 23:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what he's trying to accomplish here.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think the question could be answered by what you said in that he's a shock-jock.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: He's a hot take artist and he knows that saying that isn't to get the views.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think Sean Pate is ready to throw the baby out with the bath water just yet with Vonix.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, especially it'd be one thing Zack if the results weren't there.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, if they were two and eight, it would be more of a genuine, but they're they're eight and two and you can point to every single game that they have one.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: and go, okay, do they win this game without bone nicks?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: Even though, yeah, there might have been peppered between depending on the games, moments where it's like, man, as bone nicks, how much is he costing this team in certain stretches?
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: But then when the chips are down, when it matters most, when a play has to be made, he finds a way and he makes a way.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't quite see it,
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Sean Peyton is thinking that way at all.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: I would be stunned if that was even like an inkling a morsel, a kernel, a seed of a thought in Sean Peyton's mind.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: Fox family, what's up big dog, great superstar, and a deer member checking in saying, I'm just glad bow wears 10 and Gino wears 7.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: It was written, Lohel.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy, right?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Plummer had some really good points on what could be going on with bow and Sean?
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: You have to point us in the right direction tells where we can find was it on X on a podcast.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, but yeah, that that is kind of my wrong exact 10 to 7.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_03]: It is and we're happy the Broncos eaked out of victory and I think we all know Fox family that they're going to look a lot better.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: Are they better look a lot better against Kansas City on Sunday because that's not going to cut it.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to be eight and three pretty quickly, but thank you for the super chat.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Jason Perry and a dear member throw in down a super chat, appreciate you big dog.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll keep an eye out if you have any specific questions or topics, but thank you, but Eric Flynn, gifting five mile high hotel YouTube memberships to folks in the chat.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Eric.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: That means a lot.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: And to the five people who just got gifted a membership, we'll do our best to make you want to stick around after your 30 days.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: We got also, I miss this one.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: Be Red's third super chat.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: People still sleep in on this defense.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's wild to me.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: They are in, I mean, here's an example of that.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: I wrote this up because it's a been a slow three days act, but pro football focus unveiled their mid-season all protein.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: How many Denver Broncos defenders off the top of your head?
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: You might have already read it, Zach.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: But if you didn't off the top of your head, how many Broncos made that team?
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: Probably three, probably three.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: None on the first team.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: One.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: on the second team, and that's only Talonoa who found out as a second team.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: No lie.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: So let him slide back.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: Let him hate that's ridiculous, though, with how well Zach Allen's play every single week.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: Jonathan Cooper and Nick Benito, Patrick Sirtan, I get he's hurt, but he's still the best quarter in the NFL.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't make the first team.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_03]: I don't understand what Chris Collins worth outfit is going on and I don't understand their bias against the Broncos.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_03]: That's crazy, man.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's it was bizarre.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of laugh James Todd.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, brother?
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, we need to come remember.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: We need you in the fold, bro.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: Literally after the game Thursday night, I went on YouTube and the first video was is Bownik's fraudulent and can the Broncos win an actual good game?
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: Nasty agendas be imposed and people celebrating.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, there was here's the thing
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: to the people who are doing that because a lot of them were the same people that were saying bonix sucks and he was going to be a bust and he should have been a third-round pick and Broncos reached in all that stuff.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because those types of people, man, they were proven wrong so immediately exact that they then like the Homer Simpson mean.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: they'd fade back into the brush, right?
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then at the first hint of, you know, a slump or as I'm calling it, a mini slump, all of a sudden they emerge like Homer.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: So pay attention there, James, thanks for bringing it up, bug.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely, consider the source.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_03]: If they're PFF, they're probably going to be anti-bonics or anti-bracos, but it's funny James that when Bonyx has a good game no matter who he faces, you don't see the video as titled is Bonyx for real.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_03]: His Bonyx is a, you know, a future star quarterback.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's only to confirmation bias the negative narrative that Shao was talking about.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: That's the only reason that you see that kind of thing.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: Eric Flynn, thanks, buddy, haters going to hate doesn't matter how anybody plays in the game as long as it ends with a dove.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: That is the most important thing, no doubt about it.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: And again, thank you for gifting the memberships.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Dutch has jumped it in again, generous super chat.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: Love you.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I love both.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: My points are simply what he needs to work on, like any young quarterback.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: I bet in the offseason he will work on his crap, of course.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: Still,
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: for the game to slow down, agreed on all those points.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: And Zach, the one thing about what I just read a few moments ago about her from Colin Coward, like his quote about Bowen, I wonder if Sean Peyton might be thinking in a quarterback next year, blah, blah, blah.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: The one thing that I kind of have a hard time debating from his point or refuting is a better word for it is he's regressed in year two.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: Zach, make me feel better.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: Do you, is there an argument that Bonyx has not regressed, or do you?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: Is it hard to say that he hasn't even though the records this year, right?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos won 10 total games last year in 17 and they're already at 8 and 2.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_03]: See, this is a tough question to answer.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: And Michaela, first and foremost, as always, thank you so much for the super.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's tough to answer because some weeks it looks like the game is moving like a snail for bonus.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_03]: Just totally slow.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_03]: He's in complete command of the offense.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_03]: And he looks like a superstar top 10 quarterback.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_03]: The next week, he looks like the game is going sheet of level speed for him.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_03]: And it's going too fast.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_03]: And he's jittery and nervous and uncomfortable.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_03]: So it's tough to really gauge.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: for a sophomore slump or for a quarterback to hit a regressive phase, they would have to look like that continuously.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_03]: More than just one week in a row, there would be no step forward to just be with step backwards.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen step forward from Bonix and they wouldn't be eating too without Bonix.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's kind of where I'm at with that, Michaela.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 30:32[SPEAKER_03]: You talk about the coaching, you talk about the execution, the players around him.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_03]: You could argue whether they should have traded for jail in water or someone like jail in water.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think Bo's taking a step back.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's like any other quarterback who has bad weeks.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_03]: Again, Josh Allen had a crappy game in Miami today.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_03]: They should have beaten the dolphins.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_03]: He looked like, you know, a lower level top or bottom 16 quarterback, no one's talking about that.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: It is what it is.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a fair thing to say, you know, that he's regressed, I'm not sure I agree with that 100%, but it's hard to refute simply based on the numbers and even cowherd what he said about completion percentage and all that.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he's not, he's, he's not putting up the same level of numbers.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, if we look at Beau,
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see, let's take a side deck his completion percentage, which this season, it's hovering right now at 60.9, which is almost, well, six points below basically where he was as a rookie, but he's got 18 passing scores, all right, through 10 games, divide that by.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: 10 times up by 17.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: So he's on pace to throw 31 touchdowns this season.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: He threw 29 last year.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's got eight interceptions divide that by 10 times that by 17.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: So he's on pace for 14 picks this year, which would be two more than what he finished with as a rookie.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's still and remember the production last season, as far as his touchdowns, I mean, never before done in a Bronco history and only one quarterback ever.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: in NFL history had a better rookie year production-wise than Bonic.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not quite there to say he's regressed.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: He has shown some alarming signs at times Zack of a sophomore slump and it is slightly ironic that Sean Payton was so not just dismissive about the sophomore slump question during the summer because he got it, if he got it once, he probably got it six or seven times and each time.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: not only would he dismiss it, but he would do so with genuine derision, right, that he believes the sophomore slump is a myth, et cetera, et cetera.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: But thankfully, Bonyx, Zach, as he's the way I see it, is he's just navigating that,
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: a quarterback learning on the job stuff guy that started from day one, he's still learning.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's still bumping his head.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: The most encouraging aspect about it and why fans should still be just utterly geeked out of their minds about Bonax is that even when he hits these points in the road that feels like he takes a step back or he's in a mini slump, it still translates to dubs.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's still translates to wins.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's an L
- 33:22[SPEAKER_03]: There's actually some graphics out there comparing Bo's first 20 or 25 starts to Peyton Manning and John L.A. and it should make some people feel better, even other different areas.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, CJ Stroud, for example, not to be this guy, but he had a phenomenal rookie season.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_03]: He hasn't looked like the same quarterback since.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't heard word one about CJ Stroud, at least compare it to Bonyx.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_03]: And it's, whether I think Chad, the answer to the question if he regress, is up to your expectation for him.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_03]: because if winds are on a quarterback stat, then what did you really expect from Bonax?
- 33:56[SPEAKER_03]: If you wanted 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns, it probably was never happening anyway, but if you wanted a competitive winning team that's going to be up there and pushing for the division, then he's met that expectation.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he's in a sophomore slope.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, we wanted to make headway in the face of the Kansas City Chiefs' reign over the AFC West.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: We've done that already.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the business is totally unfinished.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: But still, eight and two this far in first in the AFC West.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Bonyx is getting the job done.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now is he blessed to have that defense?
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, absolutely, but at the same time.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think it's been pretty clear.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the Broncos passing arsenal is anywhere near some of the offseason stuff over the past two years, like the bottom 10 and all that, but it's clearly not, we'll call it, I wouldn't call it a top 16 arsenal, the bone X is playing with.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably somewhere right past that, somewhere between like 16 and 20, not elite,
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: And Bonax is still raising those ships and one of the things he said there's something else from his postgame I want to talk about, but it just reminded me one of the things he talked about at the podium was I've got to be better all that stuff right?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, we got to do better than 10 points blah, blah, blah, blah and he's like I'll get it fixed I'll get it figured out and when I do the guys will follow in other words as I get it figured out you're going to see everybody else looking and playing better as well we can expect that then we'll grab Donald.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't want to.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_03]: I watched Tom Brady for 20 years and he always had the best defense is the best starting field position, the best coaching, the best luck and timing and all that.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_03]: So if Bonax hasn't only defense, I don't care.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's still helping out and pulling his own way.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos would not be eaten to without Bonax.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_03]: But in terms of going forward, it's that's the fickle nature.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think of social media of being a fan of the narratives nowadays, Chad.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_03]: If Bonyx goes out there on Sunday and throws for 270 yards and free touchdowns and the Broncos win, you're not going to be hearing a peep about draft get quarterback or not going to be hearing a peep about replacing Bonyx.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_03]: Just the way it is.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: Donald, thank you buddy for the support.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for being a member.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: Says the bills found out today that it's not easy to beat a down and out division rival.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: And their quarterback is an eighth year bet Bow is in year two.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: onward.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Really, really good stuff.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for that Donald and, and yeah, I mean, Josh Allen's actually a good example of what, not everyone's Patrick Mahomes that comes out of the draft or frankly, bone-inics, the way Bode did it.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like he comes straight out of the draft and wins you 10 games goes to the playoffs and sets records.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not every quarterback can do that, but Josh Allen's that is a good example of an elite quarterback
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: But in a lead quarterback who went through the traditional NFL kind of trial and error learning curve where it took him two three years to really have it all the lights come on and you know that's going to be no different for bone next maybe in different.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: What's a good way different degrees right because bone next hit the ground running but Josh Allen took him some time.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_03]: Josh Allen through a terrible pick in the red zone in the end zone today.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_03]: If Bo Nixon did that, some fans would want him in prison in Guantanamo Bay, Chad.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_03]: So there's two different narratives and expectations and it's not fair, but it is what it is.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_03]: Bo Nixon has to earn that reputation and so far he hasn't yet, but every quarterback has a bad day.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_03]: Even Michael Jordan missed shots, even Michael Jordan lost games.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_03]: Not comparing them, but that's how it goes.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 37:40[SPEAKER_03]: Bounix has a bad day and the Brock was still win the football game.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_03]: There's so many other instances in the last 10 years where the office it happens and he's not a quarterback either another example.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_03]: The antipysis is a player like Paxton Lynch who had no amnesia who had no ability to turn the page who had no metal who had no metal fortitude and it would ruin him.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: These performances would destroy him.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_03]: Bounix is stronger.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: He's a mentally.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think sound and he will overcome to Donald's point.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: Just the conversation right now that surrounding Bonix, what a crush packs the Lynch.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: If he would've opened Twitter one time and saw, he'd be crying on the bench in the black horrible places, right?
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: Be rad, go an off tonight on SuperChat, bro.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, buddy.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: We love you.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: He says two weeks in a row, our defense has hurt the opposing quarterback, not on purpose, of course.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if they pop patty cakes a few times to remind him who we are.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, sometimes it's just the way the cookie crumbles and it's a very physical defense and any quarterback that goes against this this team's act is going to get touched a lot by the defense they're going to get hit they're going to get sack they're going to get pressured all that stuff and.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if they take matters into their own hands and trying to run around like, you know, did, you know, they're going to, they're probably, and this, in case, in fact, Zach, in both instances, those two quarterbacks back to back getting hurt by the Broncos defense, both happened outside the pocket, both happened on plays where they were trying to use their legs.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh,
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Mahomes, one of the best at that.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's a lot more savvy, though, in terms of picking his moments and all that stuff.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: So, but it will be interesting, Zach, to see how this defense plays against what has been for the most part of Resurgent Chief's team overall, but especially the offense.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_03]: But here's my problem though.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_03]: Here's where the double standard takes hold.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: Jackson Dart was injured today during the game.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_03]: No one pointed fingers of a dirty play.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_03]: But when a quarterback or any player gets injured against the Broncos, people points a bounty gate from over a decade ago where they label the Broncos a dirty team and Sean Payton a dirty coach.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_03]: There's two sets of narratives.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos and everyone else in the NFL and that trickles down to Bonyx.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_03]: And I know we should be used to it.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: I know I'm complaining about nothing right now.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_03]: It just gets so old after a while.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: It really does do a Brad.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you big dog.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: We got smiles in the house celebrate in one month of membership But he's been in the in our circle for years and years unique prepping on YouTube aka Zachary smiles in the house tonight Thank you bud for the super chats great to see you and thank you for being a member
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, he says, Sean needs to quit being cute in the play calling, quit backing away from the run, running helps open the playbook.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: That is no doubt true in terms of especially Zack, a struggling quarterback or a slumping quarterback, which is kind of why the JK injury is a little bit concerning because he's been such a rock.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: the bonix can kind of build on game in and game out.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I've got my fingers crossed, my toes crossed, I'm touching wood.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: The whole nine yards, Zach, I'm hoping that whatever has be fallen, JK Dobbins, it's short term.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_03]: 37 pass attempts for bonus against the Raiders to compare to, I think it was, yes, 17 rushing attempts combined for JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey and Dobbins was averaging over four yards of carry.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_03]: There was no reason to go away from the run.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_03]: it's third and one and you're dialing up a Portland Sutton trick play.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_03]: That's Sean Payton thinking he's the smartest guy in the room in a matter of what he calls.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to work because he's the smartest guy in the room.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: You are absolutely right unique prepping.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_03]: He needs to just find his identity and that's running the football.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting tired of saying it because we've been talking about this all season long.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_03]: It's week going on week 11 now.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt, but
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: a dear member and a bona fide super star says what's up Broncos country people can say that bow is a good cubi or a bad cubi but one thing bow is a winning cubi and i'm glad we have a cubi who knows how to win so true and one of the big steps bow has taken this year's act and the team has followed him i'm going to use his phrase again what if i take the step the team's going to follow is the close game thing right last year the Broncos were on the wrong end of all but i think one
- 42:12[SPEAKER_01]: And this year, yeah, that you had the cults loss and the chargers loss, but multiple other ones score games they've won, and not only that, but some significant serious second half comebacks, like the Philly game, the Giants game, and so forth.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: So that didn't end up itself speaks to what Camden's talking about.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, look, you have a winning quarterback, appreciate the forest, right?
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what's the better way?
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: that that saying is never really made that much sense to me, but we I think we all know what it means.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, if you asked before the season, a random fan, their opinion, their preference, would you want after 10 games, their quarterback to be 8 and 2, but not have all world stats, or your team to be 2 and 8, but your quarterback is putting up MVP numbers.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: The guy who would want the quarterback stats over the team wins doesn't know ball discard his opinion my point is saying this as we all would have signed up before the season for the Broncos to be eight and two No matter how they get there.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care how the sausages made as long as it tastes good in the end and right now eight and two Chad taste pretty damn good.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean let's think my muted
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now you're good.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: Let's put some stats and perspective here like pre bone X because he's got what I say 18 touchdowns right this year.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: So 2023 Russ was the quarterback with Sean Peyton played all year and he had 26 touchdowns, which was the most touchdown pass as a Broncos quarterback had since Peyton Manning.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: The year prior Russell Wilson and a full season as this team's starting quarterback had 16 total touchdown passes.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now we all know that was a crap season whatnot, but this was a guy in his 11th year and was a nine-time pro bull or he had 16 total passing scores in 2022.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: 2021 pre-rust pre-obviously
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: 14 of the games he started Zech.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: He had 18 total touchdowns and I could go through all the way that eight-year period date and back to the Peyton Manning years and whatnot and my point is that you can't take production for granted whether it's the 18 touchdowns or the victories the when the production is there you got to say okay you know hey
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: recognize it for what it is, appreciate it for what it is.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: And Bonix still has seven games to go.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: He'll probably end up somewhere in the 30s in terms of his touchdown passes this season.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Because Zach even though he's had a few like what was it Dallas?
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: Was it four Tuddies or three?
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to remember.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's had a few where he's been over two touchdowns.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's also had a few where he's only had one.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: But he's got the streak alive, what is it 18 games or 17 games either way?
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: He is rolling with the streak of active games consecutive games with at least one touchdown pass.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that's something, too, guys.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: Zeus, the first face that was etched on the MHH Mount Rushmore in fact the first two faces are in the house tonight.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: Zeus McPeak and Michaela Parker.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: Zeus,
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: bro, great to see you.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for all that you continue to do for MHH.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: My brother.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: He says, Hi, I think everyone needs to take a step back and look at Bo's entire body of work since being drafted.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: He did have a couple of bad games, but don't throw the baby out with the
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, my point what I was going to say to the to your previous comment chat if you look at like go on profile reference and pull up the Broncos last 10 years and I know cover your eyes get the barf bags ready, but If you look at 2024 there's one little symbol that's not that's there that's not there in any other year that's a P for playoffs.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_03]: because Bo Nix took him there.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't until Bo Nix came to town.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_03]: Sean Peyton had Russell Wilson didn't work out.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_03]: That's a super bowl winning quarterback and a super bowl winning head coach.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not exonerating Bo.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying he's perfect.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_03]: He's been far from at this season, but he's a winner.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's a gamer and they wouldn't have been eaten to without Bo Nix.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_03]: And like you, Stu, I'm willing to give him time.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_03]: He's still a second year quarterback.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_03]: A lot to learn.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_03]: A lot to grow and get better with and we're both confident.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for bringing that perspective to the conversation and that's why we wanted to title tonight's episode the way we did is.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, hey, we want to recognize the justified reasons why fans are concerned.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: uh... but at the same time it's time to balance that with the reality check of bonyx and let's give him the benefit of the doubt knowing what he's already done for this team and what he's proven in a short period of time as the broncos quarterback so thank you suss uh... we got the boot boy josh in the hissy
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Josh.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: Took this 60 bus.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is my brother in Broncos and punk rock.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see the Boot Boy 90 saying Thursday night was honestly the first game where Bo was just bad.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_01]: The overall product has been great considering that we are now at two winning seasons.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: And what should be two playoff appearances?
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's fine.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: So technically the Broncos need one more win to guarantee a winning season this season.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: his point here, Zach.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, two seasons that the Broncos are a force to be reckoned with, like the NFL now has to deal with the Broncos as a factor because of bone mix.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: And look, you're going to point to Sean Peyton and say, oh, because of Sean Peyton and that's also true.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: More than one thing can be true at the same time.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: You can point to the defense.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: But I remember a very good advanced Joseph defense with a lot of the same faces in 2023 wasn't enough to get them over the hump because they didn't have the quarterback they had Russell Wilson who he had his moments that year right like there was that five six game streak where
- 48:15[SPEAKER_01]: When the chips were down, Russ kept finding ways to get it done for the Broncos and, you know, the pen, the pen ultimate crowning achievement for him that season was that win in Buffalo, where he had to pull some rabbits out of the hat and deck on it.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: He did credit to him, but then some with huge stakes and that's another thing.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_01]: When the stakes have been high with phonics, whether it's in game.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: or important games, he answers the bell.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: When is he not answered the bell?
- 48:40[SPEAKER_01]: You can point to the Buffalo Playoff game and say that's a good example, but it was also his first Playoff game ever as a rookie quarterback on the road against one of the NFL's, especially at the time, bona fide juggernaut.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: So again, I cut him some slack on that fact.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_03]: And the whole, you know, none of the team showed up that game chat.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_03]: They just, uh, it was a no show after that first, uh, Franklin touchdown.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_03]: And you're right, Josh, Vonix was bad.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_03]: He hasn't had many bad performances.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_03]: That was up there.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_03]: But that's why football's the game in just too, because you wonder how we stats would have looked if Troy Franklin didn't stop running on one of the long balls, or he didn't run into a blocker, his own blocker on a screen.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: His stats still looks a lot better.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_03]: The game could have been a lot different.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_03]: You wonder your question if the supporting cast is good enough.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_03]: they shouldn't have made a move for outside help, but we're all pretty high on bone next to all around here.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: Dutch is jumping in one last time.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much, McKayla, and she brings up that, quote, Sam Darnold is in the MVP conversation and the number two rated quarterback.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: How long did it take him?
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: Specifically, what was he the, the Hall of Fame
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: uh... rosin josh Allen arm josh yes class and he did not do anything not were the till last season in minnesota and you know what he's proven a lot of the NFL cliches wrong this season in that he went from his breakout finally i got in the right system i've had enough experience combined with being in the right system the coaching in the supporting cast where i could succeed in minnesota had my one year there and i'm gonna go elsewhere
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: NFL tradition would say that Zach, he'd go to Seattle and probably struggle in this Seattle Seahawks would not get a good return on their investment, but so far that has not been the case.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's thrown that on it's year so to speak.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_03]: He's thriving.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: They probably have the best receiver in the NFL with Jackson Smith, Nick Jigbaugh as well, or one of them.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_03]: But there seems to be one quarterback every season that just breaks out that was written off as a bus.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_03]: This year there's two with Donald and Daniel Jones.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_03]: and the one narrative that it proves true Michaela is coaching coaching.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's all it takes.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_03]: And out there in Seattle is working with Clint Kubiak, the son of former Brocos legendary coach Gary Kubiak.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_03]: And that's off.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not the biggest sea ox guy.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_03]: I still have a lot of bones to pick with them, but Darnell is playing objectively really good football.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again, Michaela.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: We love you.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: Fox family guys were at the call this the two minute warning we're about out of time here Fox family jumps in again notice to ask when is Marvin Mims back at the like his presence is missed by bow also I hope to see more Pat Ryan
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: I made a joke about this Thursday night's act that two worst games of Bose 2025 season were the two games Marvin Mims has missed the Texans game arguably anyway and of course the Raiders game but the good news is he was this close to being if it wasn't a Thursday night game week 11 for him or pardon me a week 10 he would have played but he
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: went from DNP in the concussion protocol to be enlisted even though they were walked through Zack as as limited so he is progressing, which I interpret as a virtual guarantee he'll be back for the cheese.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly what I was going to say.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_03]: If that was a Sunday game, he probably would have played.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think it was so much a joke, that I think you might be out of something.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_03]: He misses the dependability of the deep threat that Marvin Mim's bring.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's the gadget guy.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_03]: You could do a lot with Marvin Mim's.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_03]: And I just think he's a little more reliable over Troy Franklin when you want to throw a deep but I'm right there with you as well.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_03]: Pat Bryan, by the end of the year, maybe in some time in 2026, I think he's going to be the long-term
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you again, Fox family.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_01]: Shane Smith throwing down a super chat.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, buddy.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: The rock throwing down a super chat.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: A crucial member of the family saying, Sean Peyton needs to give bonus what he's good at and not confusing with trick plays.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_01]: Go bow Broncos, my high salute right back at you, Ron.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, buddy.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent point.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: Shane with a second super chat.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so you demand.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: Become a member.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: We need you.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: He also says though in his second super chat.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: Part of the issue is pretty clear.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: Both has excelled in these fourth quarter comebacks when you're down in the fourth.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_01]: You have to play fast.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just not something Sean.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent point.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: Shane, I'll keep you on screen.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, but that's just not something Sean Peyton has been willing to kind of work into the.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: The tapestry here's that obvious thing and it benefits all quarterbacks for what it's worth.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: When they go tempo and there's not as much thinking and they can just kind of react and do their thing.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: It tends to favor quarterbacks and really good quarterbacks at favors and even more so.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: You'd think that, I mean, we talked about this coming out of the Giants Games Act after the meet and agree, we're like, man, you've got to work that 10 more tempo under the offense, but Sean Peyton values more.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the bottom line.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: When you run tempo, you can't do as many of the substitutions that is a hallmark of the Sean Peyton thing dating back two decades now.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so he prioritizes that he values that more is act than whatever the benefit
- 54:03[SPEAKER_03]: uh... would be of running more tempo no huddle kind of stuff intermittently throughout the game including earlier in the game and that's where he's holding his own team back by not being uh... flexible by being too stubborn and hardheaded by thinking it's two thousand six again and you have drew breeze it's twenty twenty five and you have bonyx you have an offense that plays better with their backs against the wall or off script or
- 54:28[SPEAKER_03]: up tempo, whatever.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_03]: Then do more of that.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_03]: Go away from your substitutions, even if it's your bread and butter, do what's in the best interest of Bonyx and Sean Peyton doesn't do that.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_03]: He calls passes to Garrett Bowles in the end zone chat.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_03]: He calls passes for Corbin Sutton to make because he thinks that's the right thing to do and he is the one to make the final decision.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's just ego at play and it's a problem in Denver.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: It is now that's not to excuse both because he also has to be able to excel within the strictures of the scheme and also the last two weeks.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't done so consistently.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: But again, we've pointed tonight to some of the extenuating circumstances, not excuses, but they do help explain things such as that the short week, the high number of games they played without a break.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the injury to Marvin Mims not having one of the key weapons all that stuff.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's part of the middle of you George.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, buddy on Facebook guys.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: If we missed anybody on Facebook tonight for give us we will make it up to you.

- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: If we missed you, George says, guys, we have a great team.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_01]: Look at how some of the other teams did today.
