- 0:02Speaker 1: What did do Little Baby be back again?
- 0:04Speaker 2: Lester Sanchez, Quincy Jamal Joe Ferniesi.
- 0:09Speaker 3: The Ground Show, Season two, episode one oh one.
- 0:12Speaker 2: We took a well needed reset back again, ready to
- 0:17Speaker 2: get a rain.
- 0:18Speaker 3: But we were just talking about right now that I.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Wanted to roll the cameras before.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Time is we're just talking about algorithms.
- 0:28Speaker 2: And something specifically you just said Joe about like kind
- 0:32Speaker 2: of like tailoring your feed but not interested and stuff.
- 0:34Speaker 3: The thing that sucks about that is if.
- 0:37Speaker 2: People are reacting to something, it'll pop up on you
- 0:40Speaker 2: for you because let's say, you know, fifty of your
- 0:44Speaker 2: followers liked it, so it's gonna pop up on your thing.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So it might not align with the interest that you
- 0:49Speaker 2: have on Instagram, but Instagram like prioritizes popularity so much
- 0:54Speaker 2: that if something's blowing up, they're just gonna put it
- 0:56Speaker 2: in everybody's face, you know what I mean. Even like
- 1:01Speaker 2: we were talking about before, just the algorithms and stuff
- 1:04Speaker 2: like that, and we're talking about Dave Blunt. He's on
- 1:08Speaker 2: the top of the independent playlist for Spotify right now,
- 1:12Speaker 2: even though he has like a very unorthodox style and
- 1:15Speaker 2: all the buzzwords that he uses are like the words
- 1:18Speaker 2: right now that are like, it's like a big no
- 1:21Speaker 2: no to use those words, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 1:23Speaker 2: he got a song that's the number one song on
- 1:25Speaker 2: the Independent Playlist. The song is called Bundle of Sticks,
- 1:29Speaker 2: so you already know what he's insinuating with that, and
- 1:33Speaker 2: that kind of stuff is like the worst kind of
- 1:36Speaker 2: things that you could try to advertise, because you know,
- 1:39Speaker 2: people don't go for that basically, But whenever somebody's popping
- 1:43Speaker 2: like he is, they throw all that algorithmics stuff out
- 1:46Speaker 2: the window because it's like, oh, he's getting hits, so
- 1:49Speaker 2: let's use it, you know what I'm saying, Which goes
- 1:51Speaker 2: kind of even ties in a little bit of what
- 1:53Speaker 2: we were talking about last time with them trying to
- 1:57Speaker 2: keep urban music in like a certain place, and it's like,
- 2:01Speaker 2: they'll keep it in that place because even though it's wrong,
- 2:04Speaker 2: it's selling, and if it's selling, they're gonna put it
- 2:06Speaker 2: in front of the camera and they're gonna sell as
- 2:07Speaker 2: much of it as they can, you know what I mean.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's crazy, bro. I think.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Dj Envy had said that on the radio one time
- 2:16Speaker 2: that it was the first time I had heard about it.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And I never verified it, but he was saying that
- 2:21Speaker 2: one of his first label deals, they actually one of
- 2:25Speaker 2: the things they wanted to do as part of the
- 2:26Speaker 2: deal is take out a life insurance policy on him
- 2:29Speaker 2: because like the rapper lifestyle and stuff, basically like to
- 2:33Speaker 2: protect their assets. So if he passes away or he
- 2:35Speaker 2: gets killed or something, they're still protected, you.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Know what I mean. Yeah, And it's.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Deep, you know what I'm saying, Like it runs deep,
- 2:44Speaker 2: Like how calculated it is, like you know, the exploiting
- 2:49Speaker 2: the trauma.
- 2:49Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember that he's saying a lot of the
- 2:53Speaker 4: rappers who died had life instric's policies taken out on them.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the label recoups everything. They're cool.
- 3:00Speaker 2: They made their money off you, and they made any
- 3:03Speaker 2: money that you might owe if you pass you know
- 3:06Speaker 2: what I'm saying, Because they're giving you an advance. If
- 3:08Speaker 2: you die before you pay that advance, you know what
- 3:11Speaker 2: I'm saying, that's whatever million dollars they gave you. Now
- 3:15Speaker 2: who's going to pay back? Well, they got life insurance
- 3:17Speaker 2: policy on you, so they're good.
- 3:19Speaker 3: So you did or alive? They chilling?
- 3:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw a clip from Ray Daniels too.
- 3:25Speaker 6: I guess he's, you know, a pretty known producer that's
- 3:28Speaker 6: like often in what the executives on these conversations, and
- 3:33Speaker 6: you know, basically what he was kind of saying is
- 3:35Speaker 6: that the exacts are typically you know, rich white individuals,
- 3:40Speaker 6: you know what I mean, and they're trying to push
- 3:42Speaker 6: like a certain image that obviously we're listening to or
- 3:45Speaker 6: we're engaging with. But then you know when basically what
- 3:50Speaker 6: he was saying was that when he is talking to
- 3:53Speaker 6: these people and he's having these conversations, they're so out
- 3:57Speaker 6: of touch with the what do you call it, like
- 4:00Speaker 6: the whole culture that it's crazy that it's like and
- 4:04Speaker 6: that's why they're able to do stuff like that. That's
- 4:05Speaker 6: why they're able to take out these life insurance policies
- 4:07Speaker 6: because they all they know is the money side of it.
- 4:11Speaker 5: You know what I mean, It's business exactly.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It's not art to them, it's exactly money, you know
- 4:16Speaker 3: what I'm saying exactly.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Something I was even telling my wife the other day,
- 4:20Speaker 2: and it's funny because I didn't get to finish telling
- 4:22Speaker 2: her so she could hear it.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Now.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Is a lot of times, even like with movie studios.
- 4:27Speaker 2: It really just be the people that have literally movie studios.
- 4:31Speaker 2: You know, real estate is expensive in LA. So if
- 4:34Speaker 2: you got a movie studio, which is a huge lot
- 4:38Speaker 2: in LA, you got money. There's no way to have
- 4:41Speaker 2: a huge lot in LA without money. The people that
- 4:44Speaker 2: are running these studios and the people that are deciding
- 4:47Speaker 2: which movies are getting made are the people with the money,
- 4:49Speaker 2: because they're the ones with the studios.
- 4:51Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 4:52Speaker 2: The thing.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I think what's his name?
- 4:57Speaker 2: I forgot who said it recently, man, because I'm confusing
- 4:59Speaker 2: as Walker interview that I heard with something else, but
- 5:03Speaker 2: it might have been him, But he was basically saying
- 5:05Speaker 2: that with the music, like he realized right away.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Like not to put his eggs in that basket, you
- 5:11Speaker 3: know what I mean. He made it at work with
- 5:13Speaker 3: everything else.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He says something like I'm only a rapper on.
- 5:17Speaker 3: The weekends, you know what I mean. Like you're saying like.
- 5:19Speaker 2: In a jokey kind of way, but it was kind
- 5:21Speaker 2: of like he peeped the game pretty quick and he
- 5:24Speaker 2: was like, all right, I see what this is compared
- 5:26Speaker 2: to what I thought it was, you know what I mean?
- 5:30Speaker 5: That's right.
- 5:31Speaker 4: You really have to find the formula. And it's crazy,
- 5:35Speaker 4: Like I'm saying, these streamers finding that formula, bro, because
- 5:39Speaker 4: anybody who every that's why everybody started to streaming. And
- 5:42Speaker 4: like it's crazy how you could tell how successful they're
- 5:45Speaker 4: getting because they're buying big ass mansions, they're moving in together,
- 5:50Speaker 4: creating these content and all these crazy ass views.
- 5:54Speaker 5: And like I said, when I was watching the Olympics,
- 5:55Speaker 5: it was crazy.
- 5:56Speaker 4: How many just video game streamers were there at the
- 5:58Speaker 4: Olympics Paris. So you know, it's like either they're getting
- 6:02Speaker 4: flown out there, they're making it good enough where they
- 6:05Speaker 4: got the money to be out there.
- 6:07Speaker 5: But it's just like.
- 6:09Speaker 2: They bro, it's like they're getting the eyes organically, and
- 6:13Speaker 2: that's something that no matter how much money you pay,
- 6:15Speaker 2: you can't guarantee that, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 6:18Speaker 2: you can put people in front of like you can
- 6:21Speaker 2: put somebody in front of the eyes of the public,
- 6:23Speaker 2: but if they don't decide to stick with them, it
- 6:26Speaker 2: don't mean nothing. Those people like Kai Sanat Needing lost the.
- 6:32Speaker 5: Dude interviewed Donald Trump.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Bro, these are dudes that are getting such crazy amount
- 6:39Speaker 2: of reach with their platform, which is just them as
- 6:43Speaker 2: a brand.
- 6:43Speaker 3: You know what I mean that.
- 6:45Speaker 2: They're they're like you said, bro, they're literally having presidential
- 6:49Speaker 2: candidates like trying to interview with them, because that's how
- 6:52Speaker 2: much influence and how much stroke they have just with
- 6:55Speaker 2: people in general.
- 6:56Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 6:57Speaker 6: Imagine paying a million dollars for a marketing plan, or
- 7:01Speaker 6: paying a million dollars for a guarantee five hundred thousand
- 7:04Speaker 6: people that's going to be streaming or tapped into the
- 7:07Speaker 6: the you know what I mean, it's like a guarantee.
- 7:10Speaker 6: It's an instant return on the investment. You know, you're
- 7:12Speaker 6: getting your return on investment facts.
- 7:14Speaker 2: It's kind of like even with Joe Rogan, like he
- 7:16Speaker 2: has a certain audience that if you go on his show,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you're pretty much guaranteed that that audience is going to
- 7:24Speaker 2: give you the time, and it's going to give you
- 7:27Speaker 2: the ear and going to hear your side, because that's
- 7:29Speaker 2: what the show is about, you know what I mean,
- 7:31Speaker 2: New ideas, digging into old ideas.
- 7:33Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So you as a guest on the show like that,
- 7:37Speaker 2: you already know, dang, whatever I'm trying to get off,
- 7:39Speaker 2: these people are going to get me an honest shake
- 7:41Speaker 2: at it and at that point it's either they rock
- 7:45Speaker 2: with you or they don't, you know what I mean.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Yeah, And that's just crazy because like the ads, like
- 7:52Speaker 4: because you know, theo Van has ads. I watched this
- 7:54Speaker 4: people called New rock Star, and I don't really notice
- 7:58Speaker 4: the ads and it's them just doing a breakdown half
- 8:02Speaker 4: through the video, like you know, a Today's video was
- 8:04Speaker 4: brought to you by Yeah, And but I never listened
- 8:07Speaker 4: to it. I was like, so, how is it worth
- 8:09Speaker 4: that much money? And maybe just me because I don't
- 8:12Speaker 4: watch the full episode, but I was like, the ads,
- 8:14Speaker 4: I don't ever remember. They're not memorable ads. I couldn't
- 8:17Speaker 4: even tell you what the products are.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Well, a lot of them are they have enough viewers
- 8:21Speaker 6: viewership that they are you know, they're monetized, you know
- 8:24Speaker 6: what I mean, the amount of time that they're watched.
- 8:27Speaker 6: They make money off of that from YouTube and other revenue.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of goes hand in hand. But what
- 8:35Speaker 2: you're saying, like you're saying, Joe.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I'm the opposite.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Like I listened to a lot of podcasts and I've
- 8:39Speaker 2: used a lot of the services that I've heard in
- 8:41Speaker 2: the ads, you know what I mean, Like I tried
- 8:44Speaker 2: the back in the day. They used to advertise Harry's
- 8:47Speaker 2: a lot like you pay five dollars a month.
- 8:49Speaker 3: They say the brand new razors, and you know in
- 8:51Speaker 3: the mail, I had tried that. What's the other one?
- 8:55Speaker 3: Hello Fresh?
- 8:55Speaker 2: That's when I heard on those on the podcasts and stuff,
- 8:58Speaker 2: and I use one of them, she offers to get
- 9:00Speaker 2: in there. I ordered a few times and then I
- 9:02Speaker 2: just kept the recipes and did it myself. But I
- 9:05Speaker 2: use that off a podcast, you know what I mean?
- 9:07Speaker 5: Gotcha?
- 9:08Speaker 1: Okay, Like I feel they've worked on me for sure, Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 9:13Speaker 5: And that's what I mean.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I've used them off of like Instagram, but they're not
- 9:18Speaker 4: off people like so ads do sell me. But when
- 9:21Speaker 4: it comes to the YouTube videos I watch, like I
- 9:24Speaker 4: just skip right over the ads, and I've so how
- 9:27Speaker 4: many people are there like me or many people out
- 9:29Speaker 4: there who are.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Actually using the ads.
- 9:30Speaker 4: So it's yeah, it just makes you wonder how how
- 9:34Speaker 4: it's so valuable.
- 9:35Speaker 2: With it And it depends on the model as well, right,
- 9:38Speaker 2: because like you're talking about THEO von dvonn he's big podcasts,
- 9:42Speaker 2: Like his podcast itself is really big. So like his
- 9:46Speaker 2: thing is like downloads and streams of the podcast, you
- 9:49Speaker 2: know what I mean, Like that's the big number for him,
- 9:52Speaker 2: and like even a lot of the stuff that makes
- 9:54Speaker 2: his way to TikTok it goes back to him. But
- 9:58Speaker 2: he's not necessarily eating off either, because people are just
- 10:01Speaker 2: clipping his podcasts and throwing these clips on these different accounts.
- 10:05Speaker 2: And it's like what he was saying was like they're
- 10:07Speaker 2: posting it at such a rapid rate from so many
- 10:10Speaker 2: random different accounts that you can't even try to like
- 10:14Speaker 2: stop it, stop.
- 10:15Speaker 3: People from using your clips and stuff.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Like at a certain point, it's like, bro, you just
- 10:19Speaker 2: gotta let it happen and just hope that they come
- 10:22Speaker 2: and download the podcasts, you know what I mean. But
- 10:24Speaker 2: then you got somebody else, like a streamer where they're
- 10:27Speaker 2: specifically making their bread.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Off the live viewers, you know what I mean, live.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Viewership people don't any money with them, like just for
- 10:35Speaker 2: watching them. Like it's crazy, bro, Like to me, I
- 10:40Speaker 2: don't know, Bro, that's that's like a wild concept. It's
- 10:43Speaker 2: definitely something that we're like not from that generation, so
- 10:46Speaker 2: it's different.
- 10:47Speaker 4: And that's why I feel like I feel like almost
- 10:50Speaker 4: like it's poison now, Like it's tainted. Content creation is tainted.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Because everybody's content creator. Now everything is content. Like that's
- 10:59Speaker 2: thrilled in everybody. Like it's kind of like what we've
- 11:02Speaker 2: talked about before. Like somebody will be like, come to
- 11:04Speaker 2: Target with me, you know what I mean. Like it's
- 11:07Speaker 2: like you doing your errands now as somebody that doesn't
- 11:10Speaker 2: do anything like any.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Like without hobbies.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You feel me like because that's the thing that gets me.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Like I'm not like, oh, you got to be a
- 11:19Speaker 2: celebrity or something like that, but like, you know, have
- 11:22Speaker 2: a hobby. You feel me like, I don't mind seeing
- 11:25Speaker 2: somebody's content if like let's say you know something that
- 11:29Speaker 2: I randomly see is like people that make these custom rugs,
- 11:33Speaker 2: you know what I mean, doing by hand and stuff.
- 11:35Speaker 2: It's like, bro, that's a skill that you learned that
- 11:38Speaker 2: you took your time on. You're doing content based off this.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'll give it a listen because you've put the work
- 11:44Speaker 2: in and earn you know what I'm saying, Like I
- 11:47Speaker 2: can I can see that this is something that takes skill.
- 11:50Speaker 3: If I'm scrolling by, come with me to Target.
- 11:53Speaker 6: Like there's a lot of people that will engage with
- 11:59Speaker 6: that and be like you know what I mean, that
- 12:01Speaker 6: resonates with her.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Something that comes up a lot too is like people
- 12:05Speaker 2: saying like they're like romanticizing like everyday life, you know
- 12:09Speaker 2: what I mean, trying to like make it seem a
- 12:13Speaker 2: certain way, to kind of make you feel like it's
- 12:16Speaker 2: more than what it is, you know what I mean?
- 12:19Speaker 2: What do y'all think about that?
- 12:25Speaker 5: I mean, I think it's just.
- 12:28Speaker 6: It's just what people have been doing with social media
- 12:31Speaker 6: since you know the beginning, is trying to kind of fantasy,
- 12:35Speaker 6: you know, create this fantasy. But to a different extent.
- 12:38Speaker 6: Now now it's like, you know, let me show you
- 12:41Speaker 6: how I got this fantasy, you know what I mean?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Because I was I was like at that peak age
- 12:48Speaker 2: when the social media thing really started taking off, and
- 12:51Speaker 2: in the beginning, bro, people was literally just.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Trying to connect.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Like it wasn't no nobody was trying to create any
- 12:58Speaker 2: kind of vibe nothing.
- 12:59Speaker 3: It was literally like, yo, this is what I'm on?
- 13:02Speaker 3: What are you on? You know what I mean?
- 13:03Speaker 2: Like everybody was just really trying to connect just to
- 13:06Speaker 2: see what everybody else was on and link up and
- 13:10Speaker 2: things like that, Like nobody was trying to be on
- 13:12Speaker 2: some like Yo, I'm the big dog here type thing
- 13:15Speaker 2: like that came later. In the beginning, it was just yo,
- 13:17Speaker 2: this is dope or able to connect in real time,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you know.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Agreed, agreed, So what I You're right, and in the
- 13:22Speaker 6: beginning was the wrong word. But what I mean is
- 13:24Speaker 6: is that like before TikTok, before reels, before you know,
- 13:28Speaker 6: even before Instagram, you know what I mean, there was
- 13:31Speaker 6: a certain point where, you know, social media has changed
- 13:36Speaker 6: and people started to try to like create this fantasy
- 13:39Speaker 6: of my life is better than yours. And that's kind
- 13:43Speaker 6: of where it starts. That's where I'm talking about when
- 13:46Speaker 6: I say the beginning, and you know what I'm saying,
- 13:49Speaker 6: and now we are where we are from that.
- 13:52Speaker 5: But yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 13:53Speaker 6: You know, when social media first started, it was amazing,
- 13:55Speaker 6: like you know what I'm saying, Like it was a
- 13:57Speaker 6: great way for people to connect.
- 13:58Speaker 2: People wouldn't even understand like how social media was in
- 14:02Speaker 2: the very beginning, like when you're talking about like the
- 14:06Speaker 2: chat rooms, even like even before my special chat rooms,
- 14:09Speaker 2: people just logging on AOL, which was an instant messenger,
- 14:13Speaker 2: and there was chat rooms, which is basically groups of
- 14:16Speaker 2: different people that liked the different stuff. You would just
- 14:19Speaker 2: pick one of the interest that you like, and it
- 14:22Speaker 2: would just be a whole bunch of people talking about
- 14:24Speaker 2: whatever you wanted.
- 14:24Speaker 3: To talk about, Like right, I mean, if it was
- 14:27Speaker 3: NBA or.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Something they was tapping in during the game, after the game,
- 14:30Speaker 2: you know what I mean, just opinions back and forth
- 14:32Speaker 2: you can And.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Most importantly, it wasn't trolls.
- 14:36Speaker 6: People were actually trying to talk, right, people now just
- 14:40Speaker 6: troll just I still don't understand the fascination with that.
- 14:45Speaker 5: But you know, that's a whole other.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Very four that.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I feel like would make everything so simple, but people
- 14:56Speaker 2: are very against. Like I would say that if you
- 14:59Speaker 2: just using the in it just to have an online identity, you.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Need an ID to do that.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Everything you do from that online identity comes back to
- 15:08Speaker 2: your online identity.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Yep.
- 15:10Speaker 2: And if that if that was the case for people,
- 15:12Speaker 2: if people were like, oh, I'm actually responsible for what
- 15:15Speaker 2: I do on the internet. All this, like not all
- 15:18Speaker 2: of it, obviously, because people are gonna find ways to
- 15:20Speaker 2: do stuff anyway. But I feel like a big percentage
- 15:23Speaker 2: of the trolling they're talking crazy to getting together and
- 15:28Speaker 2: festering with these evil thoughts and chat rooms and stuff.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Like all that stuff will fall right apart if you
- 15:34Speaker 2: had to put a face to it, for sure, definitely.
- 15:38Speaker 4: So I watched a lot of videos, man, like I
- 15:40Speaker 4: go back and forth all the time. I talked to
- 15:42Speaker 4: my wife about it, like there's so much content I
- 15:45Speaker 4: want to create, but I feel like in order for
- 15:48Speaker 4: it to be anything, I have to do it how
- 15:53Speaker 4: the trendy way to do it is.
- 15:54Speaker 5: And I'm like, that's not me before.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I feel like back in the day, you could just
- 15:58Speaker 4: turn on the camera, be your one hundred percent self
- 16:02Speaker 4: and upload that and present that as the content. But
- 16:05Speaker 4: now you have to do it in a certain way
- 16:08Speaker 4: in order for it to fit like in algorithms and
- 16:10Speaker 4: for people even want to watch it.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Now.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Yeah, we were watching some dude who was giving like
- 16:15Speaker 4: the top five food halls in Orlando, and he was
- 16:18Speaker 4: talking so like animated in the way that you know, like.
- 16:21Speaker 5: This guy isn't talking that in real life, while he
- 16:23Speaker 5: just talked normal. She's like, white, is he talking like that?
- 16:25Speaker 2: And I was check this out, so like this is
- 16:28Speaker 2: something shout out to Freddy again that Freddy told me
- 16:30Speaker 2: is like you can you can curate your vibe and
- 16:33Speaker 2: then you just look for the people that are going
- 16:36Speaker 2: to be in line with your shit, you know what
- 16:37Speaker 2: I mean. Like, if you wanted to, like let's say
- 16:39Speaker 2: that's what you wanted to do, you could just do
- 16:41Speaker 2: it your regular Joe way. And then when you put
- 16:45Speaker 2: it together and you put it out there, you're looking
- 16:47Speaker 2: for like kind of like what Quincy was saying, like
- 16:49Speaker 2: when he's running targeted ads as an artist. When I'm
- 16:51Speaker 2: running targeted as as an artist, I'm just looking for
- 16:54Speaker 2: people like the people that already like my music but
- 16:57Speaker 2: haven't heard, you know what i mean. And then it's
- 16:59Speaker 2: like you you got to try to find kind of
- 17:01Speaker 2: that community, like even like with TikTok, like that's like
- 17:06Speaker 2: a platform or like when stuff takes off, like a
- 17:09Speaker 2: certain community will will kind of flock to you, and
- 17:12Speaker 2: you just kind of hope it's the right one, you
- 17:15Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 17:15Speaker 4: But the thing about TikTok and like that's what I've
- 17:17Speaker 4: always that's where I first got the idea of like
- 17:20Speaker 4: DJing on a live feed. But you can't dj without
- 17:23Speaker 4: having at least a thousand followers. You can't get a
- 17:26Speaker 4: thousand followers without making something that's gonna fit. The algorithm
- 17:30Speaker 4: is gonna get you followers, which is gonna be some
- 17:32Speaker 4: bullshit that you really don't want to make just to
- 17:34Speaker 4: get you there in order to do what you want.
- 17:36Speaker 5: It's it's such like it's such.
- 17:40Speaker 3: A yah.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Grind, Like if you wanted to just get on with
- 17:46Speaker 2: what everybody's on, it could happen right away.
- 17:48Speaker 3: But then what gets you on is what you got
- 17:50Speaker 3: to be on, you know what I mean.
- 17:51Speaker 2: You're not just gonna be trendy and say hey, I'm trendy,
- 17:54Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, the people that follows
- 17:56Speaker 2: you see that you're not trendy. You just hit with
- 17:58Speaker 2: some random thing, you know what I mean. That's why,
- 18:00Speaker 2: like a lot of times even people just trying to
- 18:04Speaker 2: latch onto trends to grow their their page for whatever
- 18:10Speaker 2: type of thing they do that has nothing to do
- 18:12Speaker 2: with whatever that trend is. To me, it's kind of like, Okay,
- 18:15Speaker 2: let's say you gain five hundred thousand followers that followed
- 18:19Speaker 2: you because of that topic, Like how does that transfer
- 18:21Speaker 2: to you? That's why you hear these random stories are
- 18:25Speaker 2: like people that drop merch that have.
- 18:26Speaker 3: A million followers and they're like, oh.
- 18:29Speaker 2: My gosh, you know two people about my merch, Like
- 18:32Speaker 2: they're not supporting me for real. This is not It's like, yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 2: because these people not supporting you for real. They just
- 18:37Speaker 2: seen you on some trendy thing.
- 18:39Speaker 3: You was the clown of the minute.
- 18:41Speaker 2: They laughed at you, and they probably even forgot that
- 18:43Speaker 2: they was following you, you know what I mean. That's
- 18:47Speaker 2: that's something about you know, popularity that people overlook.
- 18:52Speaker 3: A lot of the time, you know what I mean.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Like it's not necessarily like a real thing, especially online
- 18:57Speaker 2: when the things that you click on me and anything.
- 19:00Speaker 4: You know, Yeah, there's something I want to do that
- 19:05Speaker 4: I haven't mind up doing that. I'm still going to
- 19:07Speaker 4: plan to do it eventually and see how that goes,
- 19:11Speaker 4: because that could be my natural self and do something
- 19:14Speaker 4: involve people and fit an algorithm without having it. But
- 19:17Speaker 4: when I be what I consider corny in order to
- 19:20Speaker 4: get a following and have people watch, but.
- 19:24Speaker 5: It's really like, it's really.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Me seeing content and what you have to do to
- 19:30Speaker 4: be a successful content creator makes you not want to
- 19:34Speaker 4: create my content?
- 19:35Speaker 2: Bro I thought, I'm telling you, I felt the same
- 19:37Speaker 2: exact way until Freddie told me that thing about like
- 19:39Speaker 2: curating it to your vibe.
- 19:42Speaker 3: I challenge y'all.
- 19:43Speaker 2: To do that, like, get on y'all shit, get on
- 19:46Speaker 2: your social media and all the shit that you're talking
- 19:48Speaker 2: about that you want to do. Start seeking that kind
- 19:50Speaker 2: of shit out and see how that starts taking over
- 19:53Speaker 2: your feeds and it's going to propel you instead of
- 19:56Speaker 2: detract you.
- 19:57Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Like, I'm like, y'all know, I've been really big into
- 20:00Speaker 2: music production and mixing and mastering and stuff.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I follow pages that do that, like they have like.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Engineers on and producers on, and they do these interviews
- 20:09Speaker 2: different podcasts and stuff. When I'm scolling my thing I'm seeing, yo,
- 20:13Speaker 2: something might pop up about something that I'm specifically looking
- 20:16Speaker 2: to figure out, like maybe how to mix the cake
- 20:19Speaker 2: with the base in the mix so it sounds good,
- 20:22Speaker 2: you know, how to make something sound less muddy, which
- 20:24Speaker 2: muddy is basically like when you hear a noise and
- 20:27Speaker 2: it just doesn't sound that pleasant. It sounds muffled, Like
- 20:30Speaker 2: how do I brighten that up? Like the stuff that
- 20:32Speaker 2: I'm seeing is like showing me how to do that.
- 20:34Speaker 2: And then when I'm pulling up my studio equipment, I'm like, oh, dang,
- 20:37Speaker 2: that video I seen earlier they told me to subtract
- 20:40Speaker 2: this frequency and try that, you know what I mean, Like,
- 20:43Speaker 2: you'll get it to a point where, like like I said,
- 20:45Speaker 2: instead of being a detraction, that's actually helping you with
- 20:47Speaker 2: whatever you want.
- 20:48Speaker 5: You know, then that's my YouTube.
- 20:51Speaker 4: My YouTube is curated for that, and that's where I
- 20:54Speaker 4: think that's where my shift is going to change. Like
- 20:56Speaker 4: I'm not going to try to do it for Instagram anymore,
- 20:59Speaker 4: which I raised thought I would and just start with YouTube.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that that helped me a lot because I was
- 21:04Speaker 2: the same like like y'all was saying like I would
- 21:06Speaker 2: pull off my stuff and I'm like, bro, like I
- 21:08Speaker 2: didn't even understand how that's coming across my feeds, Like
- 21:12Speaker 2: it's like what indication have I even given my phone?
- 21:16Speaker 4: Literally, there's this an option that you can ask why
- 21:20Speaker 4: am I seeing this?
- 21:20Speaker 5: I would say why why am I seeing this? Why?
- 21:24Speaker 3: And that?
- 21:25Speaker 2: And that's where you see like the stuff I was
- 21:27Speaker 2: saying earlier, like the algorithmics, the algorithmic stuff where it's
- 21:30Speaker 2: like people like you have liked this people and your
- 21:33Speaker 2: following list of like this, you know, like all the
- 21:35Speaker 2: trends that lead stuff to be in front of your
- 21:38Speaker 2: face when it's like really realistically, you're not really you.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Know, you know, we don't really care about that stuff.
- 21:45Speaker 2: But yeah, man, I feel like the whole gist of
- 21:48Speaker 2: it even is like like we were talking about, like
- 21:50Speaker 2: everything is content nowadays, and it just got so muddied
- 21:53Speaker 2: up that it's hard to even be motivated to put
- 21:57Speaker 2: it out because you just see so much of it
- 21:59Speaker 2: from angle and all the you know what I mean.
- 22:02Speaker 3: It's a lot. It's definitely a lot.
- 22:04Speaker 4: And they're coming from like somebody who who's created content,
- 22:08Speaker 4: like I told me and Gary had a video podcast
- 22:11Speaker 4: twenty ten, and we're creating videos and putting videos out
- 22:15Speaker 4: Like I was the king of uploading videos on Facebook,
- 22:18Speaker 4: a custom home video content videos and it.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Was just so much fun.
- 22:25Speaker 4: And it wasn't for me to get ad revenue or
- 22:28Speaker 4: to get cloud or likes or anything.
- 22:30Speaker 5: It was just funny.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Like I don't have I don't feel that fun anymore
- 22:33Speaker 4: when I post things like, I'm like, I don't even
- 22:36Speaker 4: want to post this online anymore.
- 22:39Speaker 5: It's sad, man, it's sad.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Like and like you said, we are a different generation
- 22:42Speaker 4: of content creators now, but you know that everything evolves.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the way I've been looking at it, bro is like,
- 22:51Speaker 2: and it's funny that that Saucewalker interview where he said
- 22:54Speaker 2: that thing about he's a rapper on the weekends, Like yeah, yeah,
- 22:57Speaker 2: it made me chuckle because it's like that's kind of
- 23:00Speaker 2: like what what I'm trying to set up for myself for,
- 23:03Speaker 2: Like my businesses are thriving and sustaining me, so I can, like,
- 23:08Speaker 2: like the music thing is not even my main thing,
- 23:11Speaker 2: but I can give it the focus that it needs,
- 23:12Speaker 2: you know what I mean. And then it puts you
- 23:14Speaker 2: in a different headspace even and kind of going off
- 23:17Speaker 2: of what you said you, I feel like it brings
- 23:19Speaker 2: that fun back because you're not trying.
- 23:23Speaker 3: To make something happen with it, you know what I mean.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Like you're not trying to directly parlay your passion into
- 23:29Speaker 2: like turning into dollars, you know what I mean, Like
- 23:32Speaker 2: the dollars are coming from somewhere else. You have the
- 23:34Speaker 2: freedom to say, all right, let me just create freely,
- 23:37Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Yeah, And like I see so many different people online,
- 23:42Speaker 4: like Kim Congon, she's a comedian, you know, and she's
- 23:47Speaker 4: a good comedian. She's and she she has a good following,
- 23:51Speaker 4: she has good shows and she streams yourself playing video games.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Why to get more engaging? Right, the soccer player that
- 23:58Speaker 4: I follow in Switzerland, same thing, great soccer player not streaming,
- 24:03Speaker 4: stelf playing video games. Another person who like as a
- 24:06Speaker 4: bunch of gym workout videos, that gets a lot of
- 24:09Speaker 4: traction now they're streaming and stelf playing video games. It's
- 24:11Speaker 4: just like you see that that you have to take
- 24:15Speaker 4: those avenues in order to grow and keep and keep
- 24:18Speaker 4: that growth like not stagnant. And it's sexy you to
- 24:23Speaker 4: do that much despite how much you do outside of that. Yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 4: you gotta take all that extra thing. And that's why
- 24:29Speaker 4: I'm like, if I'm going to do this, I gotta
- 24:30Speaker 4: think of what am I gonna do extra for it to.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Get that traction the followers. And it's a lot to
- 24:35Speaker 5: think about. But I hear you.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I hear what you talking about the you know, the
- 24:38Speaker 4: advice that Freddy gives you and take that in there thought, Yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 5: I definitely will take it too.
- 24:44Speaker 6: I just I know for me personally, I just I
- 24:47Speaker 6: need a detox, not just from social media but just
- 24:49Speaker 6: from social interaction period. Like I just need to like
- 24:52Speaker 6: focus on me, focus on weight loss, focused on man
- 24:56Speaker 6: I've been busy, you know what i mean with this
- 24:57Speaker 6: wedding stuff, and after this wedding, I just need something
- 25:01Speaker 6: focused on you know what i mean.
- 25:03Speaker 5: That's kind of where I'm at with it. But I
- 25:05Speaker 5: do get what you're saying though for.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Sure, where Yeah, you just came off like a couple
- 25:12Speaker 2: of vacations too, right, So it's like you haven't even
- 25:14Speaker 2: been like in the swing of like irregular everyday life
- 25:17Speaker 2: and shit like that.
- 25:18Speaker 3: So that definitely throws your clock off. Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like coming right back, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:25Speaker 6: And then I'll basically to jump back, you know, not
- 25:29Speaker 6: jump back, but basically jump straight into going to the wedding.
- 25:31Speaker 6: And so it's like right now, I'm just kind of
- 25:34Speaker 6: like and then obviously after all of that and then
- 25:36Speaker 6: kind of seeing like things on social media and stuff
- 25:40Speaker 6: like that, and like, yeah, I can curate it and
- 25:41Speaker 6: make it more what I want, but like, I don't know, bro,
- 25:44Speaker 6: Like for me, just I just need a break from it,
- 25:49Speaker 6: you know what I mean.
- 25:50Speaker 5: That's just me.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely making me feel like I got it in
- 25:56Speaker 1: a good place.
- 25:56Speaker 5: So that's.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Man. That shit works for me perfectly. Man, But I'm
- 26:02Speaker 3: not gonna lie.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Like I said that shit that Freddy told me was
- 26:05Speaker 2: a big component and that like me turning it around
- 26:08Speaker 2: because I was kind of in the same place you
- 26:09Speaker 2: always got you know what I mean.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Well, that's what I mean now is I have not
- 26:14Speaker 4: felt that in a long time. Since the last time
- 26:16Speaker 4: I felt that. I used to do it a lot,
- 26:17Speaker 4: at least once a year. I'm like, I can't take
- 26:19Speaker 4: this anymore and get rid of it. Disabled my account.
- 26:23Speaker 4: But after my account got deleted, and now I only
- 26:26Speaker 4: follow what I want to see and who I want
- 26:29Speaker 4: to see and the people that I'm actually friends with.
- 26:33Speaker 5: Life changing. Now this is starting my hook.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that that's a big one too.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Where you just said like a lot of times we
- 26:39Speaker 2: get caught up and like, oh I went to high
- 26:41Speaker 2: school with this person.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I got to you know what I mean?
- 26:45Speaker 2: Oh damn man, we was coworkers in two thousand and nine.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Man, I gotta follow you back, you know what I mean?
- 26:51Speaker 2: Sometimes these people don't be doing nothing or like the
- 26:53Speaker 2: stuff they pos they post just don't align with the
- 26:55Speaker 2: stuff you want.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Like it ain't it ain't not in personal, bro, this
- 27:00Speaker 3: is online.
- 27:00Speaker 2: This ain't real life like and I think that's the
- 27:03Speaker 2: disconnect that we have specifically with this generation, Like we
- 27:07Speaker 2: look at the online stuff like it's a joke, Like
- 27:09Speaker 2: we don't look at it as real, Like they look
- 27:12Speaker 2: at it as so real because it's the most important
- 27:14Speaker 2: and the realistic to them.
- 27:16Speaker 5: That's all they got.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's like that's you're already on.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Two different planes, you know what I'm saying when you're talking,
- 27:22Speaker 2: because y'all not even you're not even like your courtroom
- 27:26Speaker 2: is not even on the same planet, you know what
- 27:28Speaker 2: I mean?
- 27:28Speaker 6: Right now, and I do like a cleanse of my
- 27:32Speaker 6: social media product every six months to a year, because
- 27:35Speaker 6: I know, throughout every week or two, I'm following something
- 27:40Speaker 6: just off of what I saw, you know what I mean,
- 27:42Speaker 6: And it might not be something that I actually wanted
- 27:44Speaker 6: to follow, but in the moment, I was like, yo,
- 27:46Speaker 6: I want to keep up with this.
- 27:47Speaker 2: If I ever see you post on Facebook, if you're
- 27:50Speaker 2: reading this, it means you made it through my perge.
- 27:55Speaker 6: No, I don't do all that, but I definitely definitely, uh,
- 28:01Speaker 6: you know, I definitely get the messages like hey man,
- 28:04Speaker 6: what happened?
- 28:04Speaker 5: I thought we were friends on here.
- 28:06Speaker 6: I definitely get those, But now what I was gonna say,
- 28:09Speaker 6: was It's funny that we're talking about this because I've
- 28:10Speaker 6: been listening to Charlemagne the God's latest book, Get Honest
- 28:15Speaker 6: or Die Lion.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Why small talk sucks?
- 28:18Speaker 6: Hey, man, it's a really good book, man, I like
- 28:21Speaker 6: genuinely enjoyed Charlemagne's books.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Man of Charlemagne's books for a while.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:28Speaker 6: Yeah, this and basically he touches on He touches on
- 28:34Speaker 6: what we're talking about right now a lot in the book,
- 28:37Speaker 6: just from the standpoint of like the way people kind
- 28:43Speaker 6: of perceive so not just social media, but just the
- 28:47Speaker 6: way that people spend so much time trying to create
- 28:50Speaker 6: this fantasy that they don't actually attain it, you know
- 28:55Speaker 6: what I mean. It's like they'll go and spend all
- 29:00Speaker 6: their last to go take a picture on a balcony
- 29:03Speaker 6: and you know, a visa when there's five other people
- 29:07Speaker 6: in the room behind them. They're splitting the rent, I mean,
- 29:10Speaker 6: not the rent, but the stay. You know, they're sleeping
- 29:12Speaker 6: on the couch. Three days later they're going back home
- 29:16Speaker 6: to go live in a cot.
- 29:17Speaker 5: You know what I mean.
- 29:18Speaker 6: It's like they do all of this these things to
- 29:21Speaker 6: create this this persade or whatever you call a facade.
- 29:27Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 29:27Speaker 6: It's like it's just an interesting thing. Man, I really
- 29:30Speaker 6: don't understand it. Yeah, I got, I got. I. It's
- 29:36Speaker 6: it's not genuine, you know. And that's why I feel
- 29:39Speaker 6: is seventy five percent or anything. Like I know people
- 29:43Speaker 6: personally who say I did this, I did this, look
- 29:46Speaker 6: at me, look at me, Look what I'm doing, Look
- 29:48Speaker 6: what I'm doing for other people for this, And it's
- 29:50Speaker 6: like it's not really them. They're just part of a
- 29:52Speaker 6: group that's doing it right, but there's they're taking full
- 29:55Speaker 6: credit for it. And it's so just ingenuine, disingenuine.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I know what that word is, but genuous.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's just like damn it's.
- 30:05Speaker 2: But it's like the the online like thing is like
- 30:09Speaker 2: you're customizable like little journal things, so you're just literally
- 30:13Speaker 2: seeing into like people's minds, you know what I mean.
- 30:15Speaker 2: It's like whatever, like you said, like whatever little world
- 30:18Speaker 2: they want to create, that's what they do, you know.
- 30:21Speaker 2: And when somebody does that, and then like I said that,
- 30:27Speaker 2: they hold court in that world like that's that's what
- 30:30Speaker 2: has value to them. Like it's a whole different generation
- 30:33Speaker 2: dog like they live in a whole different world.
- 30:37Speaker 5: It's crazy, it's rough.
- 30:40Speaker 4: It is a different world, man, and it's but then
- 30:44Speaker 4: I do see people, like I said, all the way
- 30:46Speaker 4: older than me. Uh, I watched random videos man on YouTube.
- 30:51Speaker 5: It's just stupid.
- 30:52Speaker 4: We talked about it as before, and I'm like, you know,
- 30:54Speaker 4: that's good like it. There's still people out there who
- 30:56Speaker 4: are just genuinely making content and there's nothing thing false
- 31:00Speaker 4: about it.
- 31:01Speaker 5: And I was like, there's still hope.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Still facts, facts, And I think that's kind of like
- 31:06Speaker 2: the overall gist of like what I was trying to
- 31:08Speaker 2: say with like the stuff that Freddy told me is
- 31:10Speaker 2: like you really could make it what you what you
- 31:13Speaker 2: want it to be, you.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Know what I mean. Like, and it's it'd.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Be harder, you know what I mean, because like we've
- 31:18Speaker 2: like we all know and have said, like when you're
- 31:21Speaker 2: not doing what everybody else is doing, you know, it's
- 31:24Speaker 2: hard to get the wave.
- 31:26Speaker 3: You know.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Well I make my last dude, I watch and
- 31:30Speaker 4: I love fucking love these videos. He's really good at
- 31:34Speaker 4: cutting grass. He finds houses that haven't had the grass
- 31:37Speaker 4: cut like in three or four years.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Oh my god, I love those videos.
- 31:43Speaker 4: I love those videos, and it's it he goes to
- 31:46Speaker 4: their house, knocks in the door. You want me to
- 31:48Speaker 4: cut the grass. The interaction is super genuine. Everybody's super
- 31:52Speaker 4: happy about it. He cuts the grass and he bounces.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Next video, and then it's really like calming, like I
- 32:00Speaker 4: love the whole waiting for it before and after pictures,
- 32:04Speaker 4: like I sit there and wait for them, like yeah, yeah,
- 32:06Speaker 4: give me that after pitching.
- 32:08Speaker 5: I just love it.
- 32:09Speaker 4: I was like, that's great, you found me, and I'm
- 32:11Speaker 4: going to watch every single one of those videos.
- 32:13Speaker 5: You post man.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I found this other dude, and hopefully I can find
- 32:16Speaker 2: his page and I'll share it on the ground and
- 32:19Speaker 2: page if I remember.
- 32:19Speaker 3: But he goes to local basketball courts and renovates them.
- 32:24Speaker 2: He'll put a new backboard, a new rim, He'll like
- 32:27Speaker 2: fix the surface, you know, if the concrete's bad, he'll
- 32:30Speaker 2: repaint it.
- 32:31Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 32:32Speaker 2: And then it like started catching on and they started
- 32:34Speaker 2: like commissioning him to redo basketball courts like in his area,
- 32:39Speaker 2: like he just started. Originally, he just wanted to do
- 32:41Speaker 2: like the court that he used to go to, you
- 32:43Speaker 2: know what I mean. He just had the idea like
- 32:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna just come out of my own pocket and
- 32:47Speaker 2: refurbish this court and then like it caught on online
- 32:50Speaker 2: and everything, and then like he's I think he's done
- 32:52Speaker 2: like more than ten now in like his area.
- 32:55Speaker 5: That's fire.
- 32:56Speaker 2: And that's like kind of what I'm saying, bro, Like
- 32:58Speaker 2: there's like you said, Bro, there's hope out there.
- 33:01Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, there's those those people still
- 33:04Speaker 3: out there dogs.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Like that's another thing about online that I don't agree
- 33:06Speaker 2: with a lot of people saying, like they say this
- 33:09Speaker 2: generation or things have gotten bad or whatever. It's like, nah, bro,
- 33:12Speaker 2: we're just seeing inside of everybody's mind all the time.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Like we wasn't doing that.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Before, Like you just was thinking what you was thinking,
- 33:19Speaker 2: and you was wondering what other people was thinking. Now
- 33:22Speaker 2: it's not like how it was, you know what I mean,
- 33:24Speaker 2: Like now you actually know what other people's thinking.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Like you pull out your phone and you pull up.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Somebody's stories and they're showing you what they're doing and
- 33:32Speaker 2: they're telling you what they're thinking.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Bro. It's like a double whammy. So we're in just
- 33:37Speaker 3: in different times.
- 33:38Speaker 2: But I say that to say this, like there's still
- 33:41Speaker 2: the same amount of good people as bad people, you
- 33:42Speaker 2: know what I mean. It's just you might be clouded
- 33:46Speaker 2: by the bad, and you might be overwhelmed with the
- 33:49Speaker 2: thought that there's a lot more bad than good, you
- 33:53Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 33:53Speaker 5: And I don't want to get drowned. I don't want
- 33:55Speaker 5: my car to get drowned out in that.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Shit, you know exactly.
- 33:58Speaker 2: And it's like once you once you like pinpointed, once
- 34:01Speaker 2: you you know, hit the sniper scope and you're like
- 34:03Speaker 2: zoomed into what you need to be on and you
- 34:06Speaker 2: find those people that are in that space, that's when
- 34:08Speaker 2: it like takes off, you know what I mean, That's
- 34:10Speaker 2: when it hits different for you.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 6: There was one part in the book, uh that Charlemagne
- 34:20Speaker 6: basically said, somebody asked him.
- 34:26Speaker 5: You said, are are we dumber now? Or are we?
- 34:32Speaker 6: Were we dumber you know before we had technology, you know,
- 34:36Speaker 6: and you know, basically way back when he said, well,
- 34:42Speaker 6: if you think about it, you know, yeah, we're dumber now.
- 34:47Speaker 6: And the reason why is because we have the technology
- 34:51Speaker 6: and the ability to do better, but we choose not to.
- 34:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yeah, to me, I kind of feel like it's just
- 34:59Speaker 2: a thing of everything is so easy and accessible that
- 35:02Speaker 2: it's not necessarily that we're dumb er, we're just not
- 35:05Speaker 2: doing things that we used to need to do, you
- 35:07Speaker 2: know what I mean, Like you're not You're just not
- 35:11Speaker 2: having those experiences anymore. So I feel like we're a
- 35:16Speaker 2: lot less emotionally mature, you know what I mean. Like
- 35:20Speaker 2: the fact that things have been so easy for all
- 35:22Speaker 2: of us generally is kind of like a thing that
- 35:25Speaker 2: kind of regressed us, you know.
- 35:27Speaker 6: Well, so from he's saying it from a standpoint of
- 35:30Speaker 6: if you think about it, like where where the things
- 35:35Speaker 6: that people are concerned with?
- 35:36Speaker 5: Now?
- 35:37Speaker 6: You know what I mean, Like we don't concern ourselves
- 35:40Speaker 6: with things that matter, you know what I mean, Like
- 35:44Speaker 6: look at how politics have gone simply because of of
- 35:48Speaker 6: course they're gonna attack whatever we're concerned with. You know
- 35:53Speaker 6: what I'm saying, What are the people worried about? What
- 35:55Speaker 6: are what can we do to get their vote? And
- 35:59Speaker 6: that will tell you you where we are?
- 36:01Speaker 5: You know what I mean.
- 36:03Speaker 6: And so that's what he's saying, is that like we
- 36:05Speaker 6: have the ability to know more, but we choose not to.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Yeah, like ignorance is bliss kind of thing.
- 36:14Speaker 6: Is exactly like we have people, we have the access
- 36:17Speaker 6: to people. Yeah, exactly, It's like that's what I'm saying.
- 36:20Speaker 2: It's like, that's what he's saying, that people are dumber
- 36:22Speaker 2: because they're just choosing to be ignorant.
- 36:24Speaker 5: The're choosing to be ignorant exactly.
- 36:26Speaker 6: He's saying that, like, you know, we have the potential,
- 36:29Speaker 6: like literally, right now, all three of us can pull
- 36:31Speaker 6: out our phone and be like, you know, what's causing
- 36:33Speaker 6: global warming?
- 36:34Speaker 5: And we can have the answer in three seconds.
- 36:36Speaker 6: But instead most of us are looking up why you know,
- 36:40Speaker 6: Cardi B And Offset have getting a divorce, you know
- 36:44Speaker 6: what I'm saying.
- 36:44Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying. By as far.
- 36:46Speaker 6: As like yeah, you know, we have the potential to
- 36:51Speaker 6: be worried about the things that matter, but we don't.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I think that kind of goes back to what I
- 36:55Speaker 2: was saying, like I don't think there's like more dumb
- 36:58Speaker 2: people than before.
- 37:00Speaker 3: They're just magnified, you know what I mean.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Like dumb people are louder, you know what I'm saying.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Even just when you would go to the grocery store
- 37:06Speaker 2: as a kid, like usually the person that was screaming
- 37:09Speaker 2: or or the person that was like grabbing your attention,
- 37:12Speaker 2: wasn't somebody necessarily that you were like, wow, they look
- 37:15Speaker 2: pretty smart or something, you know what I mean, Like
- 37:17Speaker 2: usually the person that's grabbing your attention at a grocery
- 37:20Speaker 2: store or somebody that's doing something dumb.
- 37:23Speaker 3: And I think that's just kind of the same online.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Like the people that are gonna say the most ignorant
- 37:28Speaker 2: stuff are going to say it the loudest because they're
- 37:31Speaker 2: ignorant to what they're saying, you know what I mean.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Like I've like it's like when you have a conversation
- 37:37Speaker 2: with somebody and you can tell like they don't even understand,
- 37:40Speaker 2: like they don't even grasp the concept of what they're
- 37:42Speaker 2: even talking about, but they're talking about it with confidence,
- 37:45Speaker 2: you know, Like you have those conversations with people sometimes
- 37:48Speaker 2: where you're like, brouh, you have no experience with this
- 37:52Speaker 2: thing that you're talking about, but you're saying it like
- 37:55Speaker 2: there's no way that anything opposite of what you're saying
- 37:59Speaker 2: could be true, you know what I mean. It's like
- 38:00Speaker 2: the same way people talk about like how it's not
- 38:04Speaker 2: that hard to grow up in the hood just to
- 38:06Speaker 2: avoid this, just avoid that, and then they grew up
- 38:08Speaker 2: in a house their whole life, you know what I mean.
- 38:11Speaker 2: It's like, bro, if you don't got no type of
- 38:14Speaker 2: You don't got no type of backbone here to even
- 38:17Speaker 2: give your opinion. You don't even know nothing about this,
- 38:20Speaker 2: but you're talking about it like you would have different
- 38:23Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like you can I'm real
- 38:25Speaker 2: big on. I can't speak for anybody what I would
- 38:29Speaker 2: have done in their shoes, because nobody's lived the same.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Life, you know what i mean, Like with that stuff
- 38:34Speaker 3: from the same lens.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Like even whoever you could think of is like they
- 38:40Speaker 2: in their head, they're.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Justifying why they're doing what they're doing, you know what
- 38:43Speaker 3: I mean. It's like you can't touch that. That's that,
- 38:46Speaker 3: you know what I mean.
- 38:49Speaker 2: But that's just like I don't know, I just have
- 38:52Speaker 2: an outlook. I never had an outlook that like there's a.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Lot of smart people out here.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Been like there's a lot of idiots, bro, That's just
- 39:03Speaker 2: it's been tried and true. I've been in rooms with
- 39:05Speaker 2: a lot of people, you know, going back to when
- 39:08Speaker 2: you're in school, like where a lot of people don't
- 39:10Speaker 2: understand something.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Wow, Like they're like.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Five of them maybe understand what's going on, you know
- 39:18Speaker 2: what I mean. It's like that ratio has just carried.
- 39:21Speaker 3: On, like you know, like throughout the rest of your life.
- 39:28Speaker 2: You wonder where these people come from like that, dude,
- 39:31Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like you'll see certain advertisements
- 39:34Speaker 2: or you'll see like you sequence like Cardi being offset
- 39:37Speaker 2: and you're.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Like, dang, who who is paying attention to this? There's
- 39:44Speaker 3: mad people paying attention to that?
- 39:46Speaker 5: Yeah, there is. That's the thing that sucks, you know.
- 39:48Speaker 1: What I mean, Like you would you would think not
- 39:50Speaker 1: there's not that many people.
- 39:51Speaker 2: But nah, bro, mad people click the Cardi b a
- 39:54Speaker 2: link before the one that said nuclear war is imminent.
- 39:58Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Fact government fund evidence of UFOs and they talk about
- 40:03Speaker 2: it and a hearing, but you know they're trying to see,
- 40:07Speaker 2: you know, who made the stallion this this week, you
- 40:09Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Like there's a lot of people.
- 40:12Speaker 4: That well, Quincy with the whole Space Force, it's like
- 40:16Speaker 4: that was happening right during COVID, but everybody was clicking
- 40:21Speaker 4: every fucking thing else about COVID and the and the
- 40:24Speaker 4: vaccines and all this shit that that nobody was clicking
- 40:28Speaker 4: anything there. And that's what they're like perfect time.
- 40:30Speaker 6: In fact Spaceforce, bro, because Space Force they basically just
- 40:34Speaker 6: like announced Taylor, like like you know what I mean,
- 40:37Speaker 6: that's crazy.
- 40:38Speaker 5: That's like a big deal, bro, and it just went
- 40:41Speaker 5: under the road.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Yeah. I remember when it came out. Trump.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I mean, you know when he was president, he had
- 40:49Speaker 2: a lot of crazy stuff he said. But I remember
- 40:52Speaker 2: when he talked about that. It was pretty funny.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Man like him. You know, the Trump is about.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Space, very that video was very funny, very fun.
- 41:09Speaker 5: Yeah. You heard about.
- 41:11Speaker 1: About Boeing messing up in space as well.
- 41:14Speaker 3: M M bruh.
- 41:16Speaker 2: So like the little transporter vehicle that was supposed to
- 41:21Speaker 2: transport some people that went to the space station off
- 41:25Speaker 2: of it to come back to Earth. It was a
- 41:27Speaker 2: Boeing one and it messed up, and it hasn't been
- 41:30Speaker 2: able to transport them off the space that.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Long, and now.
- 41:35Speaker 1: There's they were supposed to be there, I believe like
- 41:37Speaker 1: a month or sixty days.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I think because the battery runs out out of
- 41:42Speaker 4: forty five days or something and they haven't been.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Able to they're gonna have to be there until next year.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Bro. What they stranded on the space station because the
- 41:50Speaker 2: Boeing transporters malfunctioned, so they're stuck for mad months, bro.
- 41:58Speaker 1: They might end up being there a year and space
- 42:00Speaker 1: trapped dog.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Bro.
- 42:02Speaker 2: When they did the interview, like they had like a
- 42:05Speaker 2: little press conference of one of the ladies that was
- 42:07Speaker 2: stuck out there and there's like no GRAVITYO.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Her hair was mad frizzy and it was her hair
- 42:11Speaker 3: was like my hair.
- 42:12Speaker 1: But there's no gravity, so that hair was up like
- 42:15Speaker 1: this dog.
- 42:15Speaker 2: And she's just talking like you know, like she's like
- 42:18Speaker 2: talking all cheery and stuff, and it's like, oh, bro,
- 42:20Speaker 2: she she gotta be going through it.
- 42:22Speaker 5: But you gotta send me that video of what is
- 42:24Speaker 5: going on.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Bro, it's crazy and even and that's bro like
- 42:27Speaker 2: where you were just talking about that.
- 42:29Speaker 1: This has been going on, bro, and this is the
- 42:30Speaker 1: first time you're hearing about.
- 42:32Speaker 5: It, right. Yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 3: And with that, I'll leave you with this.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Curate your social media because that's the stuff that's fallen
- 42:41Speaker 2: through the cracks if you're not create curating your feeds.
- 42:46Speaker 7: Facts after act apt.
- 43:24Speaker 8: A copy.
- 44:23Speaker 7: Not not.
- 44:35Speaker 8: Not not und conto, not not conto, not
- 45:41Speaker 2: Noting a
