  Hello, my name is Shauna.
• 0:10
  - Here with Olivia.
• 0:11
  - And this is your PCJ Pop for the week.
• 0:16
I am going to name a movie that I am shocked
• 0:20
that I had never seen all the way through
• 0:22
  from beginning to end.
• 0:23
I had just seen chunks of it over the years
• 0:27
and I sat my ass down
• 0:28
and I watched Silence of the Lambs from 1991.
• 0:32
  - How did you?
• 0:33
  - Thank you.
• 0:34
  I can't believe I had never just,
• 0:36
I threw pop culture in just a few.
• 0:39
Yeah, I feel like I'd started it a couple times
• 0:42
over the years and then just never finished it
• 0:44
or I'd catch it in the middle or something on TV
• 0:46
back in the day, but never actually watched the entire thing
• 0:50
  and I loved it.
• 0:52
  - So good.
• 0:54
  - Yes, Silence of the Lambs is a psychological
• 0:56
or thriller film directed by Jonathan Demme.
• 1:00
It stars Jodie Foster as FBI trainee Clarice Starling
• 1:03
and Anthony Hopkins as the incarcerated cannibalistic
• 1:07
  psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter
• 1:10
who helps her hunt a serial killer known as Buffalo Bill.
• 1:14
I will say it's a little funny that his name is Hannibal
• 1:17
and he ends up being a cannibal.
• 1:19
I mean, like, why would you name your kid?
• 1:22
Yeah, but like, why would you name your kid Hannibal?
• 1:24
  I don't know.
• 1:25
I hope he doesn't grow up to be a cannibal.
• 1:28
  - Cannibal.
• 1:29
Oh darling, wouldn't that be funny?
• 1:31
  It rhymes.
• 1:32
We'll just stick with the name, it's fine.
• 1:36
These movies, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon
• 1:40
are all based on a series of novels by Thomas Harris.
• 1:44
I've not read the novels for their little interesting
• 1:47
and you know, don't adapt directly to the movies.
• 1:50
  But I loved this.
• 1:51
  I think that it's iconic.
• 1:53
It's got so many memorable lines and character performances.
• 1:58
It is one of the only three films to win the big five
• 2:03
at the Academy Awards, Best Picture, Best Director,
• 2:06
Best Actor, Actress and Adapted Screenplay.
• 2:09
Something that is very rare for horror films too.
• 2:12
Horror does not get as many accolades as it should.
• 2:16
I guess in recent years it has a little more,
• 2:18
but I absolutely say pop Silence of the Lambs.
• 2:23
If you've watched it before, watch it again.
• 2:25
If you've never seen it, definitely give it a whirl.
• 2:28
I watched it on Toobie, I believe.
• 2:33
  - Yeah.
• 2:34
  - I watched it on Tubi.
• 2:35
  - I recently watched it as well.
• 2:36
  - Yeah, but it looks like you can find it on, you know,
• 2:39
for rent for free on lots of different platforms.
• 2:43
So I am going to pop Silence of the Lambs
• 2:46
and that we'll do it for this week's PCJ Pop.
• 2:49
