- 0:00Speaker 3: Join.
- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm with him on that, especially when you're starting to
- 0:03Speaker 1: get home runs like you kind of hit all year long.
- 0:05Speaker 2: We have, and we looked more like ourselves offensively tonight,
- 0:08Speaker 2: you know, stringing together good at bats and two out urbis.
- 0:12Speaker 2: You know, I thought the guy swung the bats great,
- 0:15Speaker 2: and you're able to go first and third. We use
- 0:18Speaker 2: our legs just you know, more more advantage counts where
- 0:23Speaker 2: we did damage.
- 0:25Speaker 3: You know, we did some damage and advantage counts last night.
- 0:27Speaker 2: So really happy with the bounce back, you know, a short,
- 0:32Speaker 2: short turnaround, a little bit better turn around than we
- 0:34Speaker 2: thought because the game was the late and hour, but
- 0:37Speaker 2: that's you know, it's tough to get to sleep after that.
- 0:39Speaker 2: He was kind of tossing and turning the way that
- 0:40Speaker 2: we lost.
- 0:41Speaker 3: The game yesterday.
- 0:42Speaker 2: But these guys are showing resilience all year, and I'm
- 0:45Speaker 2: not surprised by it, you know, just you know, it's affirming.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I think we get you know, a lot of the
- 0:50Speaker 2: right kids. And last night they bailed me out by wheeling.
- 0:55Speaker 2: You know, I wheel the guy in the first inning,
- 0:57Speaker 2: get him blown up by fifteen feet.
- 0:59Speaker 3: They made it that.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'd almost forget a book for everybody, but myself by
- 1:03Speaker 2: scoring thirteen runs, So really good response. We did a
- 1:07Speaker 2: good job against Saint John's down at Saint John's, scoring
- 1:10Speaker 2: a lot of runs, and you're able to do that
- 1:12Speaker 2: again tonight, so live to see another day.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well, nobody's perfect, coach.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I mean, you're gonna you're gonna wave, guys. I came
- 1:20Speaker 1: in the clubhouse. He gave me all kinds of problems.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Hopefully you won't. You know what I'm saying. You can't
- 1:25Speaker 1: get them, all right, you can't.
- 1:26Speaker 3: You see a dive and you're thinking, all right, here
- 1:28Speaker 3: we go. It's gonna go off his glove.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I'm making the decision on the dive, and by the
- 1:33Speaker 2: time he's passed me, I can't hold him up.
- 1:35Speaker 3: So I can't really get down the line on that.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That's one that I don't.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Really second guess myself as much as I'm second guessing
- 1:41Speaker 2: myself now.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It's okay, I got more thing more than five pitches.
- 1:46Speaker 1: He got fifteen outs. Fifteen outs with fifty five pitches.
- 1:49Speaker 1: That's pretty good.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Yeah, he was very economical and we're probably gonna need
- 1:53Speaker 2: him again this weekend if we're gonna win it. So
- 1:56Speaker 2: he did a super job. You know, Tommy felt a
- 1:59Speaker 2: little something on one of those last pitches in his elbow,
- 2:02Speaker 2: so we're getting him checked out. But you know, he battled.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Tommy battled Ellison battle. We needed something out of him.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You know, somebody asked me for the three times, I'd
- 2:12Speaker 2: be ecstatic. We made it two in a batter, I think.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And then it was time for Greg and Greg Greg
- 2:17Speaker 2: took the ball.
- 2:18Speaker 3: He pitched well against Saint John's down there too, and
- 2:21Speaker 3: did a super job today. Really impressed with him and
- 2:23Speaker 3: he had him.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You know, I thought it was great that he and
- 2:26Speaker 2: coach Mack had the game plan of just having Saint
- 2:29Speaker 2: John's hit it to Caleb Spurs as possible. Caleb covers
- 2:33Speaker 2: a lot of ground. He's our best defender by a lot,
- 2:35Speaker 2: so I said, you know, only took a little bit.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Seemed like he was getting everything. It was fun to watch.
- 2:40Speaker 3: It was very fitting the way the game ended in
- 2:42Speaker 3: his glove.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a great play. And the center field
- 2:45Speaker 1: play catching made against the wall was fabulous too. Getting
- 2:49Speaker 1: back to a Shaw fifty five pitches, thirty eight strikes,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I mean, if you're a heading account, I mean, isn't
- 2:55Speaker 1: that really the way to play? Baseball if you're a pitcher.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're a coach too.
- 3:01Speaker 2: It makes it a lot easier on the heart that
- 3:05Speaker 2: he uh.
- 3:05Speaker 3: He's done that all year. Really.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I mean he's got a he's got a slow heartbeat,
- 3:09Speaker 2: and I can say that. I mean, he's nothing overwhelms him.
- 3:11Speaker 2: His stuff is not dominant. You see, you put him
- 3:14Speaker 2: on a rap Sodo machine and say, okay, well, what
- 3:17Speaker 2: does he do that's extraordinary. There's nothing that he does
- 3:19Speaker 2: extraordinary except he throws throws strikes, you know.
- 3:22Speaker 3: And and in this day and age, that's extraordinary. So
- 3:25Speaker 3: he was.
- 3:26Speaker 2: He was a lot of fun to watch. No freebies.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You know the six four three talk about a momentum shift.
- 3:31Speaker 2: You know, we get four runs in the in the
- 3:34Speaker 2: bottom of the fourth, I think, and then in the fifth,
- 3:37Speaker 2: you know, we hit the first guy here we go Nope,
- 3:40Speaker 2: Shaw snuff set out six four three, and then I
- 3:42Speaker 2: felt like the game was pretty much in hand at
- 3:44Speaker 2: that point.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yeah, two quick things offensively, Tyler Minnick. I mean, the
- 3:48Speaker 1: guy in this ballpark, it seems like it hits one
- 3:51Speaker 1: out of Tommy plays here.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, the dimensions, it's like, are they really
- 3:55Speaker 2: that deep? Because it feels like an eentions. There's no
- 3:57Speaker 2: foul territory. It's a different kind of game here.
- 4:00Speaker 3: But yes, he's he's uh.
- 4:02Speaker 2: He earned his today, that's for sure, and so did Daniels.
- 4:05Speaker 2: And they've been fun to watch all season. I think
- 4:08Speaker 2: one of the biggest things for Tyler. I don't know
- 4:10Speaker 2: if he recognized this, because he's good on his own.
- 4:12Speaker 2: He was good early when we didn't have protection around him,
- 4:14Speaker 2: but he's been extra good with with Daniels and Bill
- 4:17Speaker 2: are on either side of him. You know, those two
- 4:19Speaker 2: left handed bat right also have some juice Burr too.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I mean he's got some juice too in the two holes.
- 4:25Speaker 2: So kind of filled out the heart of the order,
- 4:27Speaker 2: and Dougherty makes it that much longer.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Four hits for him. I mean, here's a guy that's
- 4:32Speaker 1: your right hand.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Hit her. He's in the outfield. Four hes.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Comes from the West coast East again, up in Washington State.
- 4:39Speaker 1: He just seems to put the ball in play. He
- 4:41Speaker 1: finds he finds spots to.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Hit the ball up the middle.
- 4:43Speaker 1: He went up the middle for a couple of knocks
- 4:45Speaker 1: today and hit the ball out.
- 4:46Speaker 3: The right field. Yeah, hit him where they ain't Plesten.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I don't know how this guy does it because it's ugly,
- 4:51Speaker 2: but he just gets two three hits a game, you know.
- 4:53Speaker 3: So I said, well that is of value to us.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It's a game. And he can run a little bit too.
- 4:59Speaker 3: So yeah, he needed.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Some time to kind of get acclimated, and we probably
- 5:04Speaker 2: should have given him an given.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Him more of an opportunity early.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I mean, we gave him an early opportunity, but we
- 5:09Speaker 2: should have stuck with him a little bit longer. It
- 5:10Speaker 2: took us a while to kind of figure out this
- 5:12Speaker 2: guy belongs in the lineup and flopping, and he was
- 5:16Speaker 2: ready for his opportunity the second time he came around.
- 5:18Speaker 3: He's made the most of it.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, bo route today too, on base four times. Yeah, right,
- 5:22Speaker 1: triple single, two walks. That was a good call by you.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Well, the matchup was kind of dictated it. You know,
- 5:28Speaker 2: their starter, who we knew probably wouldn't be in the
- 5:30Speaker 2: game that long.
- 5:31Speaker 3: He's coming off an injury.
- 5:32Speaker 2: We wanted to get a jump him, you know, we
- 5:34Speaker 2: want to jump them, and it's like, all right, let's
- 5:36Speaker 2: get another lefty in the lineup. He struggled against lefties,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and he was the right guy to he's a different
- 5:41Speaker 2: kind of DH but from swing to swing. But you know,
- 5:45Speaker 2: he can legouts, he can leg out in field hits,
- 5:47Speaker 2: and he can go first to third, you know.
- 5:51Speaker 3: But he swung the back really well today.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And who knows what we're going to see tomorrow, but
- 5:55Speaker 2: I know they'll both be ready to go.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a guy sprays it around too. I mean,
- 5:59Speaker 1: you think about it, door are hitting it in all fields,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and you got root having those kind of hitters in
- 6:03Speaker 1: your lineup that defending those guys could be a problem.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yes, because he can do that too, So it opens
- 6:09Speaker 2: up a lot of things, opens up the field, and
- 6:12Speaker 2: I just enjoy him.
- 6:13Speaker 3: He has such fun playing the game. You can see
- 6:16Speaker 3: his face. He's got to always got a smile on
- 6:18Speaker 3: his face.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Nothing is too heavy for bow and he's fun to watch.
- 6:23Speaker 1: He's got a baseball name, he's got a baseball game. Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 1: we like him, well said, yeah, all right, coach, appreciate it.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Tomorrow at five, you don't know who you're playing, well, what.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Just really depends on next day's pitch, you know, in
- 6:35Speaker 2: the next day's pitcher for for both teams too. You know, Creighton,
- 6:41Speaker 2: you should be a little bit deeper with their arms,
- 6:43Speaker 2: given their way that both those games played out yesterday,
- 6:46Speaker 2: but they're both very good ball clubs, both very well coached.
- 6:50Speaker 2: We're gonna have to be you know, we're gonna have
- 6:52Speaker 2: to play an A game. I thought we played pretty
- 6:54Speaker 2: close to an A game today. We're gonna have to
- 6:57Speaker 2: be even better tomorrow, uh, in order to until about.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Four in the morning. That'd be great. Who comes out
- 7:04Speaker 3: of it. Just play a really long game tonight.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Yeah, throw about two hundred pitches or so and okay,
- 7:09Speaker 1: all right, all right, appreciate it.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Thanks, thanks Mike. Nice job that I
