- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, look who it is time. I'm officially ready. I
- 0:09Speaker 1: got a little white core me a little. I got
- 0:12Speaker 1: a little cold white today too, it's a little cold.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm really liking the new hairstyle. I have to say
- 0:18Speaker 1: thank you. I'm drinking this duckhorn. Man, do you like duckhorn? H? No,
- 0:23Speaker 1: I don't know what that is that? What is that chardonnay?
- 0:25Speaker 1: I don't fuck with chardonnay. No, it's a Sauvian blanc. Oh,
- 0:28Speaker 1: it's so blanc. Yeah, I like a nice song sareh,
- 0:30Speaker 1: which I believe is a sauvignon blanc grape. I don't
- 0:35Speaker 1: even I think, oh, how are you? Mana? This hairstyle
- 0:41Speaker 1: is really working for me. I like that you like it?
- 0:44Speaker 1: I love I'm gonna have to change the avatar I
- 0:47Speaker 1: made for you because he doesn't have this hairstyle. I know.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And the beards that they have for avatars on the
- 0:52Speaker 1: Apple iPhone isn't necessarily the dopest beard. They're not really
- 0:56Speaker 1: that good looking. Nodding because allow beer, great, right, they'll
- 1:01Speaker 1: they'll represent correctly. It's like, yeah, no, they don't. And
- 1:05Speaker 1: also I just started following Joel on Instagram. Oh we've been,
- 1:10Speaker 1: she's got She's got some spicy pictures done. I'm listening
- 1:17Speaker 1: to the podcast, Joel. Are you like provocative Joel? Joe
- 1:23Speaker 1: Joel knows how to find the right colors that suit herselfies,
- 1:27Speaker 1: you know what I mean, and then she finds the
- 1:29Speaker 1: right poses that followed you on her Twitter are learning
- 1:34Speaker 1: a lot. I'm learning a lot about Joe Joel. And
- 1:37Speaker 1: I started following Joel because Bobby moynihan yesterday hit me
- 1:40Speaker 1: up with something. And first of all, Joel, if we
- 1:45Speaker 1: do do this Star Wars podcast, he should be one
- 1:47Speaker 1: of the hosts with us, because he's his knowledge of
- 1:51Speaker 1: Star Wars is amazing. Anyway, point, who else you know,
- 1:55Speaker 1: who you know? Who else could be on it? Is
- 1:56Speaker 1: I as I understand it. Patton Oswald is also on
- 2:00Speaker 1: the level of you guys, right, yeah, absolutely, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 2:05Speaker 1: We could make a we could make a really dope
- 2:07Speaker 1: team and it would be it would be a dope
- 2:09Speaker 1: podcast because we'd have legit people who are legitimately into
- 2:13Speaker 1: the show anyway, into the movie, into the universe anyway. So, uh,
- 2:18Speaker 1: Bobby moynahan sends me a picture and it's got all
- 2:21Speaker 1: of these pilots in it like Luke, Skywalker, Harrison, Dulah, Yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 1: Lando is on there to Lando Chewbacca. I'm gonna look
- 2:30Speaker 1: at it real quick. Some of these people, I'm like,
- 2:33Speaker 1: who cares? But Poe Damnren body from Rogue one, Porkins.
- 2:40Speaker 1: The list is the list is pretty good, and it's
- 2:43Speaker 1: and Wedge, Antillies, Han Solo and and the list is
- 2:48Speaker 1: choose your squadron, but you can only fit pick four characters.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And this was the hardest thing I'd ever had to do.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And then I'd hit up I hit up Joel, and
- 2:57Speaker 1: I'm like, Joel, four characters, that's all you can choose,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and she throws them out so easily. She's first like,
- 3:04Speaker 1: oh wow, this is hard, and then she's like, who
- 3:07Speaker 1: did you say, Harrah Wedge? Yeah, uh Luke. No you
- 3:12Speaker 1: didn't say Luke. You said you didn't want to pick
- 3:14Speaker 1: ogially Wait, no, you're right. I didn't say Luke. I
- 3:17Speaker 1: remember I was good. But I did say Anakin because
- 3:20Speaker 1: I like Annakin and he's a great fighter. He was
- 3:22Speaker 1: the best pilot in the say Anakin, and he's not
- 3:26Speaker 1: even on the list, but he should have been, because
- 3:27Speaker 1: that's what I would have picked. My point is This
- 3:30Speaker 1: is a harder. This was This was one of the
- 3:32Speaker 1: hardest choices I ever had to make when it came
- 3:34Speaker 1: to Star Wars and Bobby Moynahan, his at is on
- 3:39Speaker 1: Instagram is Bibby Moynahan, and I chose Lando Wedge Luke Skywalker,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and I said, Han Solo and Chewbacca are a combination.
- 3:52Speaker 1: But then I was like, yo, you know what, I'm
- 3:54Speaker 1: gonna take those two off and put Harrison Dula. That
- 3:59Speaker 1: was a quick teaser for you guys who were interested
- 4:02Speaker 1: in a Star Wars podcast that will soon be coming
- 4:05Speaker 1: to you from my heart. This is not said podcast.
- 4:09Speaker 1: This is a podcast about fake doctors who are actually
- 4:13Speaker 1: real friends. Yeah, but I just wanted to throw that
- 4:15Speaker 1: out there real quick because as a friend, I know
- 4:18Speaker 1: you know how important Star Wars is to me. And
- 4:20Speaker 1: if I have some Star Wars trivia or knowledge or
- 4:26Speaker 1: a puzzle that you would always allow me to talk
- 4:31Speaker 1: Star Wars because you know how it's important to me.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It is, it is very important to my friend, and
- 4:36Speaker 1: I love you very much. Welcome all of our listeners,
- 4:39Speaker 1: Hi everybody, Thank you for listening. Thank you for all
- 4:41Speaker 1: your amazing feedback on our Instagram and Twitter, Donald and
- 4:46Speaker 1: I love hearing from you guys, and love hearing what
- 4:48Speaker 1: you have to say. I saw I saw someone today
- 4:51Speaker 1: regarding Tuesday show sent Oh my god, this podcast is
- 4:56Speaker 1: getting dirty because we got into bold, we got into
- 5:01Speaker 1: the WOP video analysis, we got intomandscaping. So hopefully we
- 5:06Speaker 1: didn't upset too many things. I should clear something up too, though.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I think I did not take my junk out at
- 5:12Speaker 1: the club just your pubs. I just showed the pubes. Okay,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't just when I when I heard
- 5:20Speaker 1: the story, I didn't remember the story. But when I
- 5:22Speaker 1: heard it, I used assumed you. You didn't. You came
- 5:25Speaker 1: down to just above the eel. Yeah, right before the
- 5:30Speaker 1: black whale makes would make an appearance. Right, we cut
- 5:36Speaker 1: it there. Yeah, you just brought it down to show
- 5:39Speaker 1: what was happening. But you know, I think it's important.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I felt like we did an important public service announcement
- 5:44Speaker 1: because I feel like there's people out there who who
- 5:46Speaker 1: don't know and they need they need someone to tell them,
- 5:49Speaker 1: and that's why we're here as fake Doctor's real friends. Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 1: We also created a new segment called Let's Fix Your Life. Yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 1: that was fun. I think it's gonna go today, Joel,
- 6:00Speaker 1: We're gonna do that again with today's caller. Okay, great,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I will give them. And just a quick heads up
- 6:08Speaker 1: for you guys. We have Chai Serrano on the podcast today.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Really the best guest we ever had. We're really excited
- 6:16Speaker 1: about it. With your design, Oh sorry, good, did you
- 6:21Speaker 1: sweat your designed to look like it has stains on it? Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 1: it's tied eye. It's a gray and white tie eye.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh it's a gray and white tie eye over the zoom.
- 6:29Speaker 1: It looks like it was artistically designed to look stained.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Oh well no, and I thought it was very nice choice.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I thought it was handsome. It's by Nike. Oh oh
- 6:44Speaker 1: do you like Nike? You know I love Nike. Look
- 6:47Speaker 1: at these bad boys. I just got a fire O.
- 6:56Speaker 1: One thing I don't do. One thing I don't recommend
- 6:59Speaker 1: doing you guys, is putting your credit card information into
- 7:02Speaker 1: the Nike app. And I did that with a few
- 7:08Speaker 1: drinks in me. You then don't really ever think like
- 7:11Speaker 1: you're really buying anything. It knows your size and it
- 7:14Speaker 1: has your credit card info, so you could be like
- 7:17Speaker 1: up like when you go to Vegas exactly. Yeah, just
- 7:22Speaker 1: know what I mean when you go to Vegas and right,
- 7:25Speaker 1: and those chips look like they're little candy and you
- 7:28Speaker 1: just toss them on the table. The next thing you know,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you don't have a home anymore. Just putting it out
- 7:36Speaker 1: there anyway, Jay Serrano is with us today. Yes, we
- 7:43Speaker 1: should get into the show with a little bit of
- 7:45Speaker 1: a fiories about show. So get around here yet around hey,
- 8:12Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, give it up for thunderous applause for
- 8:20Speaker 1: shape he turned, Sir, Shay, We've had a lot of
- 8:25Speaker 1: a lot of people on this podcast since we had you,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and I think you're by far everyone's favorite guest. I'm
- 8:33Speaker 1: probably I'm a solid fifteenth place finisher. I know people
- 8:37Speaker 1: love you, dude. You're When we hung up with you,
- 8:40Speaker 1: Donald was like, oh my god, he's like he was perfect.
- 8:43Speaker 1: He was such a good guest. You know. That's because
- 8:47Speaker 1: we talked about sucking basketball for thirty minutes. And it's back,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and it's back back. We finally got back together. Oh
- 8:54Speaker 1: my gosh, did you watch a Dame? Did you watch Dame?
- 8:57Speaker 1: That's what I'm about to ask you that right, Dame dollar,
- 9:01Speaker 1: Dame time, Let's go listen. Champion dude, he's playing like
- 9:06Speaker 1: one right now. That whole team looks good him nerd
- 9:09Speaker 1: chick freaking uh ceo, uh great. Yeah, the crazy thing.
- 9:16Speaker 1: CJ got a broke him back and he's destroying right now. Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I don't understand. I don't understand. I was gonna ask
- 9:21Speaker 1: out doctors how you can break your back and getting
- 9:24Speaker 1: better at basketball. Right He's doing a little too much
- 9:27Speaker 1: dribbling for me. He's doing a little too much James
- 9:29Speaker 1: Harden on the on the when he gets you got
- 9:31Speaker 1: a dribble diald if when you walk, when you move able? No,
- 9:35Speaker 1: if you don't, you get what you get what's called traveling.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And the referee goes like this, right, no doubt. But
- 9:41Speaker 1: he's dribbling at a point where it makes the offense
- 9:43Speaker 1: kind of just stand still and watch. And sometimes he
- 9:47Speaker 1: makes it like the beautiful thing about Portland. And I
- 9:51Speaker 1: can't believe I'm saying this because I am not a
- 9:52Speaker 1: Trailblazers fan, but I am a mellow, I am a dame,
- 9:55Speaker 1: I am a c J, and I am a Blazers
- 9:58Speaker 1: fan because that's the starting lineup right. Let me ask you,
- 10:02Speaker 1: Let me finish, Let me finish the thing. About that
- 10:05Speaker 1: is though they're a great one on one team. One
- 10:09Speaker 1: on one, each one of those guys will give you
- 10:12Speaker 1: the business. Yeah, it's amazing to me that their team
- 10:16Speaker 1: ball is in such is in such good shape right now,
- 10:19Speaker 1: Like you know what I mean. Uh, Mello has saved
- 10:22Speaker 1: them several times. And it's the same play. It's the
- 10:25Speaker 1: same play from the top to the corner, splash three,
- 10:30Speaker 1: same time, Dame time, dame time, from half court, dame time.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And let me ask you guys to me because I
- 10:37Speaker 1: was I saw some of this, some of this basketball
- 10:40Speaker 1: on TV, and I was just taking in the whole thing.
- 10:43Speaker 1: With the fans, you know, the projected fans you can
- 10:45Speaker 1: like bought, you can spend money and be a fake
- 10:47Speaker 1: fan in the stands, right, not a fake fan. You
- 10:50Speaker 1: don't even have to pay for it. You just apply.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It's like, you know, fill out a little for him
- 10:54Speaker 1: and then they pick you out of that. Oh I
- 10:56Speaker 1: want to do that, Donald, We should do that. That happen. Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: I don't want to make that happen. And um, and
- 11:03Speaker 1: so I was and I wanted to know as hardcore
- 11:05Speaker 1: basketball fans like you guys, if if you know obviously
- 11:10Speaker 1: it's weird, you know, this whole bubble thing. But if
- 11:13Speaker 1: if you were still if you thought the games were
- 11:15Speaker 1: noticeably different, are the scores higher or lower? Like? What
- 11:17Speaker 1: are what are what's different? Without the fans shure you
- 11:22Speaker 1: want to take this the presentation for the games has
- 11:24Speaker 1: been outstanding. It does not. It does not feel any
- 11:28Speaker 1: different to me. If anything, everything feels a little more
- 11:30Speaker 1: heightened because you know they're all stuck there. Like I
- 11:33Speaker 1: don't know if you play like AAU basketball or like
- 11:35Speaker 1: any sort of tournament basketball, when you show up at
- 11:38Speaker 1: one location and all of the teams are there just
- 11:40Speaker 1: sort of wandering around, and it becomes like like a
- 11:43Speaker 1: very tribal sort of experience. You're like with your team
- 11:45Speaker 1: and only your your team, and like where enemies with
- 11:47Speaker 1: those one It's been it's been so much fun to watch.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I've been really really impressed. Yeah, not only that, what
- 11:53Speaker 1: I really enjoy is that there's no such thing as
- 11:55Speaker 1: home court advantage. Now yeah, that's crazy right. I love that.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I love the fact that everybody's playing on neutral ground.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So so sorry again, I'm I'm the voice of people
- 12:06Speaker 1: that don't follow sports at all. So a team with
- 12:08Speaker 1: a with a die hard fan base would genuinely have
- 12:11Speaker 1: an advantage, right because absolutely they're loud. They're loud, they're
- 12:16Speaker 1: rooting you on, and so you're feeling that energy while
- 12:18Speaker 1: you're playing. Like I remember, I played in this thing
- 12:20Speaker 1: called the I talk about this all the time. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: played in this thing called the NBA Entertainment League, and
- 12:24Speaker 1: we made it to the conference finals one year. And
- 12:29Speaker 1: you know, it's a neutral it was pretty much played
- 12:31Speaker 1: on the same court. And the only time you would have,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you know, fans there was when you bought your family.
- 12:37Speaker 1: So if I bought my girlfriend at the time, she
- 12:40Speaker 1: would be cheering for me. So in the conference finals
- 12:43Speaker 1: we played, we played against Jamie Fox's team, right, okay,
- 12:47Speaker 1: and Jamie, being the genius that he is, he was like,
- 12:51Speaker 1: let's pack stands with nothing, but you know what I mean,
- 12:58Speaker 1: And we were and so, you know, it's a it
- 13:01Speaker 1: seems like it's a regular game. I look up into Stents,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm like, wow, it's it's packed in here today. But
- 13:05Speaker 1: that's normal. You know, it's two high profile teams in
- 13:09Speaker 1: the league playing against each other where you know, my
- 13:12Speaker 1: team had a bunch of celebrities on it. Jamie Fox
- 13:15Speaker 1: was on the other team, you know what I mean.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And so it was like, Okay, I get it. People
- 13:20Speaker 1: want to see us ball. And we come out and
- 13:23Speaker 1: we're doing warm ups and everything like that, and then
- 13:25Speaker 1: the game starts and it's clear that everybody's there for
- 13:30Speaker 1: Jamie's team. And so the first couple of plays, I
- 13:38Speaker 1: come down, I pop a three. Right the next play
- 13:41Speaker 1: I come down, I pop another three, and everybody in
- 13:44Speaker 1: the crowds like, oh, it's kind of silent, and I'm
- 13:46Speaker 1: screaming out my team, let's go. And then Jamie's team
- 13:51Speaker 1: starts to score and they're freaking cheering for them, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: then they're chanting, here we go, Spurs, Let's go Spurs.
- 14:03Speaker 1: And I looked up and there was I knew we
- 14:06Speaker 1: were toast because I looked up in some stands and
- 14:08Speaker 1: there was a girl that I used to date and
- 14:10Speaker 1: she was in the stands rooting for Jamie Fox's team.
- 14:13Speaker 1: And when she saw me look at her. I looked
- 14:15Speaker 1: at her, like, what the fuck are you doing? She shrugged,
- 14:17Speaker 1: like excellent. One of my One of my favorite things
- 14:23Speaker 1: about anytime you talk to somebody about basketball who plays basketball,
- 14:27Speaker 1: and inevitably they would tell you a story about a
- 14:29Speaker 1: game they played it. As soon as they start talking,
- 14:31Speaker 1: they do what I just did with the with the
- 14:34Speaker 1: like were mimicking the dribbling they started doing every time.
- 14:37Speaker 1: It's my favorite thing, the shoulder shake. Yeah, everybody got
- 14:42Speaker 1: a little bit of dream in them. Everybody got a
- 14:44Speaker 1: little a cham to dream in them. That's how you
- 14:46Speaker 1: know the story is about to get good when they
- 14:47Speaker 1: do that move right there? Are they? Are they photographs?
- 14:50Speaker 1: Are they filming the games any differently? I thought Bill
- 14:53Speaker 1: Lawrence said something to me about like they're doing some
- 14:55Speaker 1: like experimental cinema way of shooting it to make it
- 14:58Speaker 1: more exciting or am I wrong? Yeah, they brought back
- 15:02Speaker 1: this this camera view that they had at the All
- 15:04Speaker 1: Star Game about fifteen or eighteen years ago, where it's
- 15:07Speaker 1: like basically court level and it moves back and forth
- 15:10Speaker 1: and you can like watch it that way. So they
- 15:12Speaker 1: show that one every once in a while, but generally
- 15:15Speaker 1: all it looks the same, it feels the same. It's
- 15:17Speaker 1: really really well done well. So this sport as far
- 15:20Speaker 1: as team sports, it seems like, am I right? That
- 15:22Speaker 1: the NBA has handled this the best And as far
- 15:25Speaker 1: as COVID goes, absolutely Baseball shutdown two days in or whatever.
- 15:29Speaker 1: They're like, Oh, it turns out this is a bad idea.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Let's let's let's be honest. Let's be honest. Uh. The
- 15:34Speaker 1: NBA has always had, in my opinion, the best commissioner,
- 15:39Speaker 1: Uh yeah, for sure, from Stern to Silver ever since
- 15:43Speaker 1: Stern took over, the best commissioner who actually cares for
- 15:47Speaker 1: their the league's players. Uh not not to say that
- 15:51Speaker 1: Goodell and whoever the commissioner of baseball is right now
- 15:56Speaker 1: don't care for you know, I think you could say
- 15:59Speaker 1: Goodell doesn't care. I didn't want to put that. I
- 16:02Speaker 1: didn't want to put that out there. I didn't want
- 16:04Speaker 1: to put that out there. But you but you know
- 16:06Speaker 1: what I mean. But uh, you know, Adam Silver is
- 16:12Speaker 1: by far the best uh commissioner in sports outstanding by far,
- 16:19Speaker 1: by far, and the and the product that he's put
- 16:22Speaker 1: up on the television for US fans to watch has
- 16:28Speaker 1: made it so so enjoyable. So they all live in
- 16:31Speaker 1: the same Um they're living on Disney World. Disney World, right, yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: why World of Sports campus and they but so they
- 16:38Speaker 1: all is there, like did they all get to hang
- 16:40Speaker 1: out or there like bars and shit like, Yeah, that's
- 16:44Speaker 1: that's been like one of the really fun parts of
- 16:46Speaker 1: watching all this happen because if you follow any of
- 16:48Speaker 1: the players on social media or any of the teams,
- 16:51Speaker 1: that you always get like these shots of this group
- 16:53Speaker 1: went out fishing together, or they were at the wherever together,
- 16:56Speaker 1: just sort of hanging out doing stuff. There was a
- 16:58Speaker 1: really good one last night Mike Connolly, Mike Conley, who
- 17:02Speaker 1: plays for the Jazz, he had to leave for personal
- 17:05Speaker 1: reasons and he came back and he was doing his quarantine,
- 17:07Speaker 1: and after the Jazz won the game, Donovan Mitchell has
- 17:10Speaker 1: been bawling like fucking crazy for them, went by and
- 17:13Speaker 1: they were like filming Mike through the through the window
- 17:16Speaker 1: and he's just sort of saying it was like a
- 17:17Speaker 1: really sweet, sort of tender moment. I this is fucking
- 17:20Speaker 1: How long do you have to quarantine? Two weeks if
- 17:22Speaker 1: you go home? I think it's something like seven days. Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 1: With with Connolly, he was getting he was getting tested
- 17:28Speaker 1: while he was out so that he could come back quicker.
- 17:30Speaker 1: So I think they were making him do I think
- 17:32Speaker 1: like four days, but it's usually it's a handful of days. Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: Rondo is going to be bad days. I mean I
- 17:36Speaker 1: heard that like eighty percent of symptoms show in ten
- 17:41Speaker 1: days or something like that. Please don't quote me on that,
- 17:43Speaker 1: and don't judge your life on that. I'm just fucking
- 17:46Speaker 1: recalling from memory. But I guess if you're getting tested
- 17:50Speaker 1: every day, it's it's different. I mean, you at least
- 17:53Speaker 1: know if you have a tested every like twice A yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 17:57Speaker 1: it's shame a. Welcome back to the show. Oh man,
- 18:00Speaker 1: we we really love having you on and uh and
- 18:04Speaker 1: the fans love your insight and uh, you can speak
- 18:07Speaker 1: way wiser about these episodes than than Donald and I can.
- 18:10Speaker 1: We can just talk about it. I'm so nervous to
- 18:12Speaker 1: do the recap right now because, oh yeah, Shay, you
- 18:15Speaker 1: got to see the new segment. I know that Shay
- 18:18Speaker 1: is like the king of recaps. We should have had
- 18:23Speaker 1: Shay right one too, so you guys, no no no, no no,
- 18:25Speaker 1: no no no no no no no no no no
- 18:27Speaker 1: no no no no no no no no, because and
- 18:29Speaker 1: everybody be like, let's just have Shay do the freaking recap. Donald,
- 18:32Speaker 1: thank you very much. I'm excited after Donald's recap to
- 18:36Speaker 1: talk about the first thing that came to my mind
- 18:38Speaker 1: and I want to talk about him. Just gonna tea
- 18:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna do. It's called teasing. Donald and Radio talk
- 18:42Speaker 1: about something we're gonna talk about after your recap. I
- 18:45Speaker 1: would not have the patience to wait around for Carla.
- 18:49Speaker 1: If she was like, I need to think about it.
- 18:50Speaker 1: I need to think about it. I need to think
- 18:52Speaker 1: about it, I'd be like, you know what, you don't
- 18:54Speaker 1: need to think that. We'll get into it. Let's start.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Let's start. I was a tease. That was a tease.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Hold on, let's let me get my stop watch ready.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I got it down out thirty seconds. Okay, lick your lips.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Fuck you. I want you to look good for Shaye,
- 19:09Speaker 1: Right and go. Doctor Cox becomes a storyteller in this episode,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and we learned that he's not the altogether guy we
- 19:17Speaker 1: think he is. Elliott meets someone who works at the
- 19:19Speaker 1: hospital and it's surprised when she finds out that he
- 19:22Speaker 1: is a nurse. Tries to figure out what he's doing
- 19:25Speaker 1: wrong to make Carla have to think about his proposal.
- 19:29Speaker 1: How we're perceived by others, although sometimes it may be positive,
- 19:34Speaker 1: isn't necessarily who we are. Getting to know someone and
- 19:38Speaker 1: being open to others truly is the only way to
- 19:40Speaker 1: find out who they are. That's it beautiful, but it's true.
- 19:47Speaker 1: This whole episode is and you know what, Shay, you
- 19:50Speaker 1: know what, I know why you wanted to do this
- 19:52Speaker 1: episode because this is an episode on perception, and this
- 19:56Speaker 1: whole episode is about who we think somebody he is
- 20:01Speaker 1: because of either what they do or how they present
- 20:04Speaker 1: themselves isn't necessarily who they are when when you really
- 20:10Speaker 1: get to know them and we don't know this stuff
- 20:14Speaker 1: like the whole thing with the whole thing with Cox
- 20:16Speaker 1: and how you know we from the beginning of the show,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you think he's you know, he has some issues, but
- 20:22Speaker 1: you think he's this put together guy whose uh strength
- 20:26Speaker 1: is the fact that he's this alpha male. But that's
- 20:29Speaker 1: his weakness if it turns out to be in this
- 20:31Speaker 1: episode and real talk, he's a very weak man. He's
- 20:36Speaker 1: good at his job, he's good at you know, he's
- 20:38Speaker 1: good at training these kids, but he's a weak, weak man.
- 20:42Speaker 1: He don't you find like stereotypically the guy with the
- 20:47Speaker 1: biggest fucking ego and and and screaming and everyone and
- 20:51Speaker 1: being just an insane narcissist is very often incredibly insecure,
- 20:57Speaker 1: well when you say narcissists, Yeah, I definitely feel that way.
- 21:01Speaker 1: But I don't look at Lebron James like, oh man,
- 21:03Speaker 1: Lebron's a weak dude, you know what I mean. I
- 21:05Speaker 1: look at him like, yo, he can carry a team.
- 21:07Speaker 1: He has the strength to carry to hold it. Would
- 21:12Speaker 1: it would be crazy to me if when we if
- 21:16Speaker 1: when getting to know Lebron James, if he turned out
- 21:19Speaker 1: to be this dude who has a problem speaking up
- 21:23Speaker 1: and has a problem with confrontation, and you know what
- 21:26Speaker 1: I mean, these things would be it would blow my mind,
- 21:29Speaker 1: is my point. But I'll let Shaye talk about it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 1: that's pretty pretty close to the reason that I wanted
- 21:36Speaker 1: to do this one when when Joel reached out, all
- 21:39Speaker 1: of the very best TV shows are the very best
- 21:42Speaker 1: TV shows because of the relationships that they are able
- 21:45Speaker 1: to make you care about Peggy and Don and Madman,
- 21:49Speaker 1: Jim and Pam in the office, Avon and Stringer in
- 21:51Speaker 1: the wire, uh Arabella and pretty much anyone on I
- 21:55Speaker 1: may destroy you because that thing, that that interpersonal connection
- 21:59Speaker 1: with someone else is not only something that we sort
- 22:03Speaker 1: of understand implicitly, but also it's something that we all
- 22:07Speaker 1: want and need and pursue and the more ways that
- 22:11Speaker 1: a show can press that button in your chest to
- 22:15Speaker 1: sort of higher up the rankings that can climb. It's
- 22:17Speaker 1: the same reason that so many people respond to YouTube.
- 22:20Speaker 1: On this show, it feels like you got to be
- 22:22Speaker 1: a part of y'all's relationship, which is very clearly a
- 22:25Speaker 1: special thing. So when Joel reached out and asked which
- 22:28Speaker 1: episode I wanted to do, like, I knew that this
- 22:30Speaker 1: one had to be the one. Mind you, there are
- 22:33Speaker 1: some really great episodes in season two. You have the
- 22:36Speaker 1: the Colin Hay Overkill episode, which I would argue is
- 22:40Speaker 1: the first truly iconic Scrubs music que and Scrubs is
- 22:44Speaker 1: the best show ever at using music, and this was
- 22:46Speaker 1: the first time we saw how exceptional they were going
- 22:48Speaker 1: to be at that one. So you have that when
- 22:50Speaker 1: you have JD's brother getting introduced into the show. You
- 22:53Speaker 1: have coming through for Carlo when her mom passes away.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Like there are a lot of those of those moments,
- 22:58Speaker 1: but I especially enjoy this one because a we get
- 23:02Speaker 1: very good glimpses of several of the relationships in the show,
- 23:05Speaker 1: and then b we get Carla and Turk officially getting
- 23:08Speaker 1: engaged and that Carla and Turk relationship is, I would argue,
- 23:12Speaker 1: among the very best romantic relationship portrayals that any television
- 23:15Speaker 1: show has ever offered. I agree with that. I agree
- 23:20Speaker 1: with that wholeheartedly. Mant and not because I was a
- 23:22Speaker 1: part of it. But their dynamic is very much similar
- 23:27Speaker 1: to the dynamic that my wife and I have, you
- 23:29Speaker 1: know what I mean. I'm the immature one and she's
- 23:32Speaker 1: the one that freaking you know, grounds us. You know
- 23:34Speaker 1: what I mean. And that's the exact same thing that
- 23:36Speaker 1: Carla and Turk have. I agree with that. Yeah, Laney,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you were so passionate when I put it on. When
- 23:41Speaker 1: I reached out to Shay on Twitter, I said, we
- 23:45Speaker 1: want to have you back. I hope you'll come back.
- 23:47Speaker 1: We want to have you back at least once a season.
- 23:50Speaker 1: What you you pick. And by the way, I said
- 23:52Speaker 1: this to Shay before I said it to Johnny Ce,
- 23:54Speaker 1: before I said it to anybody, any other any other
- 23:57Speaker 1: cast members. It was like, Shay, whatever episode do you want?
- 24:00Speaker 1: And he's like, within like five minutes, he's like, it
- 24:02Speaker 1: probably would have been quicker if you've probably seen the
- 24:04Speaker 1: tweet earlier, but right right when he saw it, he
- 24:06Speaker 1: was like no doubt his story, his story before gust
- 24:09Speaker 1: pause right here for a special announcement, Please interrupting Bill.
- 24:17Speaker 1: He's got a new segment called Interrupting Bill. It's the
- 24:20Speaker 1: new segment when I interrupt your podcast whenever I want
- 24:23Speaker 1: and ask you a question that I can then get
- 24:25Speaker 1: to listen to the answer too. I hope just good
- 24:27Speaker 1: music from Daniel or Joel. Guys, play this whenever you want. Look,
- 24:31Speaker 1: I love this episode, his story, and I'm psyched that
- 24:35Speaker 1: you tour there. Zach Donald, Hey, Shay Hey. I love
- 24:38Speaker 1: the Eric Pagosians in there because of his relationship with
- 24:41Speaker 1: Johnny cum I think it's got the most romantic song
- 24:44Speaker 1: at the end. That was song is still in the
- 24:46Speaker 1: online cut Football question by the old ninety sevens if
- 24:50Speaker 1: you want to talk about we actually started with the
- 24:52Speaker 1: song first in this one because we knew we wanted
- 24:54Speaker 1: to kind of have a cool proposal underneath this music.
- 24:58Speaker 1: But your question is, can you tell me there was
- 25:02Speaker 1: a joke in this episode that got us the most.
- 25:05Speaker 1: The triolic complaint and a actual letter of admonishment from
- 25:10Speaker 1: a national organization that thought the joke was incredibly offensive,
- 25:15Speaker 1: probably more of a stern letter than I got from
- 25:17Speaker 1: any national organization. Can you tell me what that joke was?
- 25:21Speaker 1: I know the answer, can I go? Yeah, it actually
- 25:25Speaker 1: hit me and I was surprised by it. Again, this
- 25:30Speaker 1: is a product of twenty years ago. But when Kelso
- 25:34Speaker 1: makes fun of Ricky Schroeder for being a nurse, and
- 25:39Speaker 1: he says, because you're doing a woman's job, and I
- 25:44Speaker 1: think that I imagine it was the Nursing Association of
- 25:47Speaker 1: some national Medical Nursing Association, or maybe it was the AMA,
- 25:50Speaker 1: I don't know who said Ay, that's bullshit and stop
- 25:55Speaker 1: perpetuating that and be there is such a shortage of nurses.
- 25:59Speaker 1: The last thing we need you doing is convincing men
- 26:03Speaker 1: that they shouldn't pursue this very noble profession. And you
- 26:09Speaker 1: want to if you want to be a show that
- 26:11Speaker 1: celebrates the medical profession, you're actually hurting us by putting old,
- 26:18Speaker 1: antiquated stereotypes on the nursing profession. That's my guess, Daniels, Right,
- 26:25Speaker 1: let's find out the answer is when Paul says Paul,
- 26:30Speaker 1: the nurse played by Rick Schroder says, Elliott's embarrassed to
- 26:33Speaker 1: date me because I'm a nurse and I don't know why.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Kelso's response as well signed because it's a woman's job.
- 26:40Speaker 1: The National Organization of Nurses admonished us and sent us
- 26:44Speaker 1: a letter saying that we really set things back and
- 26:47Speaker 1: how offensive they found that, which I understand, but also
- 26:49Speaker 1: I would argue that Kelso was supposed to be that
- 26:52Speaker 1: kind of old school guy from a sexist era that
- 26:56Speaker 1: would believe and say things like that. That said, I'm
- 27:00Speaker 1: not surprised, and we got that reaction, and this is
- 27:03Speaker 1: my official I'm sorry. My favorite joke in this episode,
- 27:08Speaker 1: actually randomly was when Sarah Chuk just throws away a
- 27:12Speaker 1: very matter of fact sad thing, which is she does
- 27:14Speaker 1: a lot which she's like, hey, I didn't break up
- 27:16Speaker 1: with Paul because he's a nurse, so stop putting bed
- 27:18Speaker 1: pans in my locker. It makes me cry. I always
- 27:20Speaker 1: love that. Two other pieces of tribut One this is
- 27:24Speaker 1: the first episode that was narrated by another character completely,
- 27:28Speaker 1: and two this is the introduction of another fan favorite
- 27:32Speaker 1: Reker character, patient, played by one of our stuntmen. You
- 27:36Speaker 1: should be able to answer this, so I'm not giving
- 27:38Speaker 1: you the answer. I'll be back in a few minutes
- 27:41Speaker 1: with another interruption. Oh my god, he's gonna go. First
- 27:45Speaker 1: of all, all right, he's gonna need to calm down.
- 27:48Speaker 1: All right. I appreciate Bill, I appreciate the new segment,
- 27:54Speaker 1: but it's gonna get It was a little long and
- 27:56Speaker 1: no offense, and now we're told those more. I'm all right.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Little by little, little by little, it becomes like Donald
- 28:05Speaker 1: and I are like just like five minutes of the
- 28:08Speaker 1: body gays is Builds monologue. Well, since Bill brought it up,
- 28:13Speaker 1: let's all talk about it, because I think that was
- 28:15Speaker 1: something that was shocking. And by the way, we can
- 28:17Speaker 1: all address the fact that one thing the show highlights
- 28:21Speaker 1: and Shay you'll be able to articulate this better than Donald, right,
- 28:25Speaker 1: is masculinity and stereotypical masculinity and what that means, and
- 28:30Speaker 1: how Ricky Schroeder was playing this guy who's very handsome
- 28:34Speaker 1: and he's charming, and she immediately looked down upon him
- 28:37Speaker 1: because he was in nurse She was literally embarrassed to
- 28:40Speaker 1: be seen with him because he was a nurse. Yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 1: it's a it's an interesting dichotomy here because a thing
- 28:47Speaker 1: that happens in this episode that often happens in Scrubs
- 28:50Speaker 1: episode is you have two storylines happening at the same
- 28:54Speaker 1: time that don't seem like they're related, but like philosophically
- 28:58Speaker 1: they are related. So you have what Donald was meant
- 29:00Speaker 1: earlier with doctor Cox very clearly. We get to see
- 29:04Speaker 1: how destructive his masculinity is in his life, like this
- 29:07Speaker 1: sort of traditional overt I don't need anybody pisanna that
- 29:14Speaker 1: he has. We see the backside of it, and it's like, oh,
- 29:16Speaker 1: he's fucking miserable and he has to watch this and
- 29:18Speaker 1: even finished watching the game, he's got a stack of
- 29:21Speaker 1: pizza boxes because he thought people were going to show up.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Like this is a very sad moment. So you have
- 29:25Speaker 1: that going and then on the other side of a
- 29:27Speaker 1: total opposite side of that, as you have this other
- 29:29Speaker 1: person who's clearly an advanced individual, Rige's character, and he,
- 29:35Speaker 1: like you're saying, he's smart and funny and charming and handsome,
- 29:38Speaker 1: but he can't get a fair shake either, Like he's
- 29:40Speaker 1: doing the thing you're supposed to do and people are
- 29:42Speaker 1: looking down on him. Here we're sort of idolizing this
- 29:46Speaker 1: one character. Secretly, his life is falling apart over here,
- 29:50Speaker 1: we're looking down on this other character and he's got
- 29:53Speaker 1: all of his shit together, but we just don't appreciate
- 29:56Speaker 1: what it is that he's doing. Right, I'm so happy
- 30:02Speaker 1: you're here. I think we should I think we should
- 30:06Speaker 1: cut Bill's interruptions, just have shade. Bill will not like that.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You know. Um, let's talk for a second about Rick
- 30:16Speaker 1: Schroder because we I don't know about you, Shay, but
- 30:19Speaker 1: Donald and I guess I don't know about you with
- 30:22Speaker 1: this regard, but silver Spoons was on my watch list. Dude,
- 30:26Speaker 1: the Champ just let's go back to the Champ. Okay,
- 30:29Speaker 1: the Champ. I never saw. I never saw the Champ.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I think it's Rick Schroeder and John Boyd plays the Champ. Yes,
- 30:37Speaker 1: and I know that Rick Schroeder like cried in a
- 30:40Speaker 1: way that no one had ever seen a kid crying
- 30:42Speaker 1: a movie. And it's breaking. It's a tough watch. Watch
- 30:46Speaker 1: good chap like Rick Schroder. When I was a kid,
- 30:51Speaker 1: you know, it was so Rick. Rick had the show.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And then when they introduced Alfonso Ribero to the show,
- 30:57Speaker 1: that's when I was hooked by oh because they brought
- 31:00Speaker 1: in a young, handsome black man and you were like, oh,
- 31:02Speaker 1: go on, well yeah, you know absolutely, as a young
- 31:06Speaker 1: African American male. It's always great to see well I didn't.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I'm not going to say handsome, because that's for other
- 31:14Speaker 1: people to decide, but it's always great to see somebody
- 31:18Speaker 1: representing you on screen. So when they brought an Alfonso
- 31:23Speaker 1: and he was doing all of Michael Jackson stuff, that
- 31:25Speaker 1: show became even more to me. But absolutely Silver Spoons,
- 31:30Speaker 1: in my opinion, was one of those shows that I
- 31:34Speaker 1: would look to watch because of the relationships, the relationships
- 31:38Speaker 1: that Rick had with his dad and with his friends,
- 31:41Speaker 1: you know what I mean. This was this kid who
- 31:44Speaker 1: was extremely rich and wasn't a dick about all of
- 31:49Speaker 1: his money. He was very much like you know, everybody
- 31:51Speaker 1: come and experience what me and my dad have. That
- 31:55Speaker 1: being said, yes, I want to give a quick shout
- 31:58Speaker 1: out to Jason Bateman, who was the bad guy on
- 32:01Speaker 1: Silver Spoons. A lot of people don't remember that, but
- 32:06Speaker 1: is that Jason's first part. I don't know, but from
- 32:09Speaker 1: that point on, at they even did I think they
- 32:13Speaker 1: even did a spin off from Silverspoon starring Jason Bateman,
- 32:17Speaker 1: uh where he and some other dude would constantly play
- 32:22Speaker 1: on each other. I'm gonna go with your digression and say,
- 32:24Speaker 1: Jason Bateman has had the most epic, awesome career. I
- 32:27Speaker 1: mean he's started at such a young age and has
- 32:31Speaker 1: and has done so much great work. And now in
- 32:34Speaker 1: this new chapter directing, I mean, I don't know if
- 32:37Speaker 1: you're watching Ozark, but his his direction on Ozark is
- 32:40Speaker 1: extraordinary and uh and it's just it's just so you know,
- 32:44Speaker 1: there's so few people that can start that young and
- 32:47Speaker 1: then and then keep the momentum long. Oh he was
- 32:52Speaker 1: our little house, that's right. Jason and I made a
- 32:55Speaker 1: film called The x Um which it's kind of a
- 32:59Speaker 1: b plut okay, but I think you'll laugh. Check out
- 33:04Speaker 1: if you get a chance, check out The Excess Jason
- 33:06Speaker 1: and Charles Groden and Amanda Pete, fred Armison, Mia Farrow.
- 33:13Speaker 1: I mean it has an amazing, amazing cast, and I
- 33:15Speaker 1: think you'll giggle out it. It's a good it's a
- 33:17Speaker 1: good thing to watch when you're when you're home. We
- 33:19Speaker 1: got a good a break and we will be right
- 33:21Speaker 1: back with Shay Serrano and Donald Faizon and jowellen Down
- 33:32Speaker 1: and reba Um Silver Spoons. Yeah, I mean I really
- 33:40Speaker 1: loved it. I thought like it was I think every
- 33:43Speaker 1: kid dreamed of having that kind of wealth. I mean
- 33:47Speaker 1: the father and also a father who was so young
- 33:50Speaker 1: and fun like remember he there was a train. They
- 33:53Speaker 1: had a they had a ridable train that would go
- 33:56Speaker 1: through the living room. And I just remember thinking, and
- 33:59Speaker 1: there was a remote control that opened the front door,
- 34:02Speaker 1: and there were arcade games in the living room, and
- 34:04Speaker 1: I just thought, like, you know, it was clearly targeted
- 34:07Speaker 1: at whatever age I was, and and I just thought
- 34:10Speaker 1: it was so exciting. And then they had a very
- 34:12Speaker 1: special episode. We talked about this once on the podcast before.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Where back in the day when a sitcom would have
- 34:19Speaker 1: a dramatic episode. Here we were on a show that
- 34:21Speaker 1: would have lots of drama, but on a traditional three
- 34:25Speaker 1: camera you know, in front, live in front an audience sitcom.
- 34:28Speaker 1: They would go, they would give a warning, they would
- 34:30Speaker 1: be like tonight on a very special episode of Silver Spoons,
- 34:34Speaker 1: we recommend parents watch with their children. And that was
- 34:38Speaker 1: the episode when when rick they called him the Ricker,
- 34:41Speaker 1: the Ricker shot a deer and then the Ricker was
- 34:44Speaker 1: really upset that he killed the deer. He regretted killing
- 34:47Speaker 1: the deer. Do you remember anybody remember this. I don't
- 34:50Speaker 1: remember that. I don't remember the thing that I remember
- 34:53Speaker 1: most about that show is the theme song. Here we
- 34:59Speaker 1: are face to face, a couple of silver first booms,
- 35:05Speaker 1: open to find. We're two of a kind, making it go,
- 35:10Speaker 1: making it grow together. We're gonna find a way together,
- 35:19Speaker 1: making a time each day to learn all about those
- 35:24Speaker 1: things you just can find. I think you should God
- 35:27Speaker 1: have go one falsetto there can fine super scooons together.
- 35:36Speaker 1: This is when you go falsetto You and I used
- 35:42Speaker 1: to love that. It's a good song. So Alfonso came
- 35:45Speaker 1: on as the best friend, and he was doing lots
- 35:47Speaker 1: of dancing like Michael Jackson style dancing, as all black
- 35:51Speaker 1: people do on television shows. We're introduced. Well, listen, we
- 35:58Speaker 1: could talk about this. How how many times did I
- 36:01Speaker 1: dance on this motherfucking show? How about that? Let's go there. Well, well, okay,
- 36:04Speaker 1: in fairness, you're a very good dancer, so is Alfonso.
- 36:10Speaker 1: And um, I think any performer that you bring onto
- 36:13Speaker 1: a TV show, you're gonna go what are they great at?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Let's fucking use everything they're great at. The West Wing
- 36:19Speaker 1: didn't have Douley tap dance. Duley is one of the
- 36:24Speaker 1: best tap dancers in the world. I didn't know that
- 36:26Speaker 1: one of the best tap dances in the world is
- 36:28Speaker 1: Duley Hill. If I was Aaron Sorkin, I would have
- 36:32Speaker 1: been like, you guys, we got find I didn't know
- 36:38Speaker 1: that about Dulet but by the way the world, speaking
- 36:41Speaker 1: of tap dancing, I was a kid and I saw
- 36:45Speaker 1: Alfonso in The Tap Dance Kid on Broadway, which was
- 36:48Speaker 1: a tap dance musical. Dole Hill was also a taped
- 36:51Speaker 1: at one of the Tap Dance Kids. That's how good
- 36:53Speaker 1: he was. Oh wow, that's Alfonso did it on broad
- 36:56Speaker 1: Alfonso originated it on Broadway. I don't know how good
- 37:00Speaker 1: of a tap dancer Alfonso is, but he was the
- 37:03Speaker 1: first uh one on Broadway to play it. And then
- 37:05Speaker 1: Savion and do Lay. I think that the tour uh
- 37:09Speaker 1: Savion took over for Alfonso, and then it became a
- 37:14Speaker 1: completely different show, and then it became more about the
- 37:17Speaker 1: tap From what I recall, I could be wrong. I
- 37:20Speaker 1: just remember as a kid who was loved Broadway and
- 37:23Speaker 1: Spectacle that at certain point there was like a cable
- 37:25Speaker 1: car that went across the stage like like you know,
- 37:29Speaker 1: you know, big Broadway budget musicals will have some big
- 37:32Speaker 1: set moment where you're like, oh my god, look at
- 37:34Speaker 1: that and their moment was like the cable car rode
- 37:38Speaker 1: it must have been imagining. It's the fifty ninth Street, right,
- 37:42Speaker 1: it takes place in Harlem, it takes place in New
- 37:45Speaker 1: York City, And well, I think he rode that thing.
- 37:48Speaker 1: You know that thing that goes to uh, what's the
- 37:50Speaker 1: island next to Manhattan And they have a cable car
- 37:52Speaker 1: that goes to uh Staten Island. No, um um, you
- 37:58Speaker 1: know that weird little island that's that's next to Manhattan. Donald,
- 38:01Speaker 1: you grew up on the fucking island. You don't know
- 38:03Speaker 1: what it is, Joel, where does the cable car? I
- 38:06Speaker 1: know what you're talking about on the east side. I
- 38:07Speaker 1: know what's the name of the island it goes. I
- 38:09Speaker 1: don't know where that shit goes. I never I'm not yelling,
- 38:13Speaker 1: but that's like me. I'm from New York. Ask asked me,
- 38:16Speaker 1: if I've ever been to the Statue of Liberty? Have
- 38:18Speaker 1: you ever been in the Statue of Liberty? I have
- 38:19Speaker 1: not been to the Statue of Why you freedom? Why
- 38:22Speaker 1: do you hate freedom? Asked me? This asked me if
- 38:26Speaker 1: when the World Trade Center was up, how if I'd
- 38:29Speaker 1: ever been to the top of the World Trade Center.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess the answers. No right asked me if
- 38:33Speaker 1: I've ever been to the top of the Empire State Building.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Have you been at the top of the Empire State Building? No, man,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I I'm proud. Have you ever in the Roosevelt Island? Tramp?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Roosevelt Island? Roosevelt Island. So for those of you who
- 38:50Speaker 1: have no no idea what we're talking about, there's a
- 38:52Speaker 1: little mini island next to Manhattan and it's called Roosevelt Island,
- 38:55Speaker 1: and people there's there's there's like a whole community there,
- 38:59Speaker 1: and um there is a the Tram, a cable car
- 39:03Speaker 1: thing that goes over there and tourists off and ride it,
- 39:07Speaker 1: but also I think people that live there ride it.
- 39:10Speaker 1: We should probably get back to the show. I know
- 39:12Speaker 1: he should get in the episode. Sorry digress, we digress.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Let's talk about the cold opened Judy fucking great platfall
- 39:19Speaker 1: in the beginning. Yes, it's good for Judy. I love
- 39:22Speaker 1: it when Judy gets comedy because she always was concerned
- 39:25Speaker 1: that she wasn't getting enough comedy. And whenever I see
- 39:28Speaker 1: her do a pratfall, now I'm happy because she nails
- 39:31Speaker 1: the door. She she nails it and she and and
- 39:34Speaker 1: and it's very funny. I was gonna say, we already
- 39:37Speaker 1: bought it up. But the Ricker joins us, man can
- 39:40Speaker 1: talk about and now we can't talk about silver spoons
- 39:43Speaker 1: because we already talked about him. Well, the Ricker, Um,
- 39:46Speaker 1: the Ricker was on another TV show for a while,
- 39:48Speaker 1: where was an MPD Blue I think something like that, yeah,
- 39:52Speaker 1: or a law and Order something like that. Joe, Well
- 39:54Speaker 1: we locked that up. Yeah. So he had a long career,
- 39:57Speaker 1: but he but he was doing that at the same
- 39:58Speaker 1: time he did Scrubs yea, So I remember that he
- 40:01Speaker 1: was on a series at the time. Um. And the
- 40:05Speaker 1: diner I just thought was interesting was our cafeteria. For
- 40:08Speaker 1: some reason, they decided to read remember this done? They
- 40:12Speaker 1: they they that whole diner set that we go to
- 40:14Speaker 1: twice was built into where cafeteria or a little bit,
- 40:19Speaker 1: I do remember. And I don't know why they did that.
- 40:21Speaker 1: They spent a lot of money for some reason converting
- 40:23Speaker 1: the hospital cafeteria into a diner. And that's not something
- 40:27Speaker 1: one ever, So I don't think the cafeteria ever became
- 40:29Speaker 1: anything else again other than that it's the same diner
- 40:32Speaker 1: with Sean too, though where Sean gets real fat. Well,
- 40:37Speaker 1: then maybe they did. I don't recall. I just remember.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I just remember. We there's something on the blooper reel
- 40:43Speaker 1: that happened. Um, I think it was a spit bucket
- 40:46Speaker 1: or something. If you can, if anyone's that curious, you
- 40:49Speaker 1: could consult the season to blooper reel. But I remember
- 40:51Speaker 1: something happened with this this this ketchup gag on your face.
- 40:55Speaker 1: And then oh, dude, no, I remember what happened. What
- 40:58Speaker 1: happened with the kid keet setucket. No, it wasn't a
- 41:01Speaker 1: spit bucket. The ketchup gag to my face made I
- 41:04Speaker 1: said to the camera to oh, now I know what
- 41:05Speaker 1: a porn star feels like. Oh, that didn't make it
- 41:11Speaker 1: to air. That did not make it to air. That
- 41:13Speaker 1: didn't make it to air. On Scrubs Wicky, they mentioned
- 41:17Speaker 1: that you can see the little hose that's going to
- 41:20Speaker 1: your your go on. They can see the hose that's
- 41:26Speaker 1: running to your fake ketchup bottle that splatters all of
- 41:28Speaker 1: your face. If you're if you're interested in fuck ups,
- 41:31Speaker 1: you can see that. Okay, I think you were going
- 41:34Speaker 1: to say something else, you know, I was getting Also,
- 41:37Speaker 1: I'm Also, I got annoyed with Turk this episode me too,
- 41:43Speaker 1: like dude, because he just keeps asking her to marry him. Yeah,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I mean it's embarrassing. It is embarrassing over and over
- 41:52Speaker 1: and over again. So much to him standing on top
- 41:55Speaker 1: of a car at the end of our cold open
- 41:59Speaker 1: mhm for love, hank for love, and everybody's honking because
- 42:03Speaker 1: they want these two to jackasses to get out of
- 42:04Speaker 1: the street as Jad runs down the freaking runs through traffic.
- 42:08Speaker 1: But that was kind of cute though, of jdo both well.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Obviously this first time is to set up the second time,
- 42:16Speaker 1: and the second time literally gave me full body goose
- 42:18Speaker 1: bumps because I thought it was so romantic and sweet.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Where did you come from? The second time? Where the
- 42:23Speaker 1: fuck did you come from? The second time? How did
- 42:25Speaker 1: you know that was going down? From a text? Well?
- 42:28Speaker 1: What happened? I mean I have questions about how that
- 42:30Speaker 1: happened anyway, Like so she said come meet me just
- 42:33Speaker 1: as you're about to go fucking on your first date.
- 42:35Speaker 1: By the way, he didn't waste any time. No, Well,
- 42:38Speaker 1: you know she was like vanilla or chocolate. Do you
- 42:42Speaker 1: know I like that chocolate? Dude? You know I like
- 42:50Speaker 1: that chocolate. Also, she was finished. He finished a chili
- 42:54Speaker 1: dog in front of her. He ate the whole thing
- 42:58Speaker 1: in front of it. It was weird. So so we're
- 43:01Speaker 1: jumping ahead, so let's just go back to Sparklers. Okay,
- 43:04Speaker 1: So I just have a problem and Shay, what are
- 43:06Speaker 1: your thoughts on this? The guy is I just felt
- 43:10Speaker 1: if it was real life and I asked the love
- 43:12Speaker 1: of my life to marry me and she was like,
- 43:15Speaker 1: maybe I need to think about it, that I would
- 43:17Speaker 1: really be turned off. I would be like, well, why
- 43:21Speaker 1: am I so sure of this? And you're not? And
- 43:23Speaker 1: and Donald and Turk's technique is just keep asking and
- 43:26Speaker 1: asking and asking. I think, well, I think there are
- 43:29Speaker 1: different versions of guys, but this is very much a
- 43:33Speaker 1: guy trait. When she is telling you exactly what she
- 43:36Speaker 1: needs right now, I just need some space and you
- 43:38Speaker 1: are like, that's not actually what you need. What you
- 43:40Speaker 1: need is me to just figure out a way to
- 43:42Speaker 1: say this differently and bigger and better, and I can
- 43:46Speaker 1: prove to you how much I love you. And that's
- 43:48Speaker 1: a that's a thing that a lot of a lot
- 43:50Speaker 1: of guys do. But you get the sense that somebody
- 43:53Speaker 1: like like Turk in the show, who is very used
- 43:55Speaker 1: to his whole life having to either a fight for
- 43:59Speaker 1: something a bit harder than everybody else is having a
- 44:01Speaker 1: fight for, or be just wanting to win at every
- 44:04Speaker 1: single thing he participates in, which is like another thing
- 44:07Speaker 1: we see in the show, like it would make sense
- 44:09Speaker 1: that he would react this way to this particular thing,
- 44:13Speaker 1: you know, right, well, that's a good point. He turns
- 44:15Speaker 1: it into like he turns it into an athletic competition.
- 44:18Speaker 1: He's like, I'm gonna do a bigger and better proposal
- 44:21Speaker 1: this time. I'm gonna stand on a car, you know. Yeah,
- 44:24Speaker 1: you know. In real life, when I met my wife
- 44:27Speaker 1: after Zach you know, stepped to her and said, you know,
- 44:31Speaker 1: he likes you, I would run into her over and
- 44:34Speaker 1: over again, and every time I ran into her, I
- 44:37Speaker 1: would ask for her number, and she would do something
- 44:41Speaker 1: that Carl is doing, Like Carl is not saying no,
- 44:45Speaker 1: She's just saying give me time. And my wife now
- 44:49Speaker 1: my wife before I would ask her out every time
- 44:53Speaker 1: I saw her, just get that number. Why don't you
- 44:55Speaker 1: give me that number? She'd be like, she would be like,
- 44:58Speaker 1: not this, this is this is the fucked up shit.
- 45:00Speaker 1: She would be like not this time. Probably next time
- 45:05Speaker 1: I see you all give it. So it meant okay,
- 45:07Speaker 1: so not this time. So now I'm trying to figure
- 45:10Speaker 1: out new ways. And she would do things where it
- 45:12Speaker 1: would be like I'd be out and about with a
- 45:14Speaker 1: girl and she'd come up to me and be like, hey,
- 45:16Speaker 1: how's it going, And I forget about the girl and
- 45:20Speaker 1: be like, oh shit, but how are you doing. Let's
- 45:23Speaker 1: let's go out on the date. Forget this girl. I'm
- 45:26Speaker 1: really into you, and she'd be like, not this time,
- 45:30Speaker 1: but next time you ask me, I'll probably give it
- 45:32Speaker 1: to you. Every time you talk about more game, her
- 45:39Speaker 1: game is, Her game is tight. And then just like Turk,
- 45:43Speaker 1: Turk goes, you know what, I'm done doing this shit.
- 45:46Speaker 1: This is some bullshit. I've I've jumped through hoops enough.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I'm no longer going to do it. Then she accepts
- 45:53Speaker 1: the proposal, and the same thing with my wife. I
- 45:57Speaker 1: finally said, you know what, I'm not gonna pursue this anymore.
- 46:02Speaker 1: She's playing me like I'm a freaking like I'm latto,
- 46:05Speaker 1: like I'm the lottery. So I'm not gonna I'm not
- 46:08Speaker 1: gonna push her anymore. And she comes back at me
- 46:12Speaker 1: and she's like, hey, how's it going? And I remember
- 46:14Speaker 1: it was me you the girl you were dating at
- 46:16Speaker 1: the time, and Josh Raiden. We were at Hide and
- 46:19Speaker 1: she goes, hey, how's it going. And I look up
- 46:21Speaker 1: and I go, hey, how's it going? And I go
- 46:23Speaker 1: back to our confidence we were talking and she goes, oh, shit,
- 46:26Speaker 1: well you know I was gonna give you my number,
- 46:28Speaker 1: but I guess now, Oh but don't you think. But
- 46:31Speaker 1: come on, buddy, don't you think the only reason she
- 46:33Speaker 1: flipped was because now you gave her the cold shoulder
- 46:35Speaker 1: And she was like, right, bro, But I think that's
- 46:37Speaker 1: why Carla flipped. Also, she was asking for the space
- 46:40Speaker 1: and then Turk finally gives her the space, and she's like, well, okay,
- 46:44Speaker 1: I need him in my life. I'm realizing right now
- 46:46Speaker 1: I want him in my life. The fact that I
- 46:48Speaker 1: don't know what he did that he's not working today
- 46:51Speaker 1: is a big deal for me because I know everything
- 46:53Speaker 1: about the guy and so therefore, shit, what am I doing? This?
- 46:59Speaker 1: Dude just asked me to marry him, and this is
- 47:01Speaker 1: what I've always wanted. Fuck yeah, I want to marry you.
- 47:03Speaker 1: And that's when the switch happened. The switch happened when
- 47:06Speaker 1: she realized, oh shit, there's a possibility he might not
- 47:09Speaker 1: be around for me anymore. It's amazing how people quickly
- 47:13Speaker 1: change when we shift who we're being. Like the second
- 47:19Speaker 1: you know, it's like a game of ping pong and
- 47:21Speaker 1: I'm hitting like this, I'm hitting like this, I'm hitting
- 47:23Speaker 1: like this. The second I do something completely different and
- 47:26Speaker 1: put spin on it, you then have to react and
- 47:28Speaker 1: do it differently. And it's just I know I'm stating
- 47:30Speaker 1: the obvious, but it's interesting in just in human relationships,
- 47:32Speaker 1: how we get stuck in this rut. I'm being Turks
- 47:35Speaker 1: being this way, he's being this way, He's being this way.
- 47:37Speaker 1: All of a sudden, he just shifts like and then
- 47:40Speaker 1: she has to shift to react. And then it's a
- 47:43Speaker 1: very powerful communications tool that I don't know that we
- 47:47Speaker 1: knowingly marshal enough, do you know what I mean? Like,
- 47:50Speaker 1: it's it's like all you needed was to stop being
- 47:54Speaker 1: so desperate, and then she shifted. I think he needed
- 47:57Speaker 1: to not only did he need to give it his face,
- 48:00Speaker 1: but it needed to happen in the way that it happened,
- 48:02Speaker 1: because I think that that's what sort of jogs her
- 48:06Speaker 1: memory and allows her to connect everything back to like, Oh,
- 48:09Speaker 1: this is like a fear I have because of a
- 48:10Speaker 1: thing that happened in my past. You know what I'm saying.
- 48:13Speaker 1: This is not just like, oh, I just need for
- 48:15Speaker 1: him to not be available for him for a few minutes.
- 48:17Speaker 1: This is more I have a thing in my head
- 48:19Speaker 1: that I need to work my way through. And by
- 48:21Speaker 1: him acting the way that he did, it finally helped
- 48:23Speaker 1: her figure out exactly what it was that she wanted
- 48:26Speaker 1: and what it was that she that she needed. You know,
- 48:28Speaker 1: it was less about just like I'm just not going
- 48:30Speaker 1: to be here anymore. It's more about all of the
- 48:32Speaker 1: other parts of it, what that all meant. And then
- 48:34Speaker 1: him finally like breaking away, and then her realizing, oh,
- 48:38Speaker 1: this is because of like my own things that I
- 48:40Speaker 1: have going on, not because of him, because that's like
- 48:42Speaker 1: a thing he keeps trying to figure out, like what
- 48:43Speaker 1: it is about? Is it about me? Is it because
- 48:45Speaker 1: you don't like this? Is because you don't like that?
- 48:47Speaker 1: And it turns out it was not any of those things.
- 48:49Speaker 1: It was like her own stuff that she had to
- 48:51Speaker 1: wrestle with first, right did you When Casey finally gave
- 48:56Speaker 1: in and went on a date with you, did you
- 48:58Speaker 1: guys click right away? Yeah, well that was the thing.
- 49:04Speaker 1: So you know me and dan'l shay Joe, Well, you
- 49:09Speaker 1: guys are getting to know me. The type of person
- 49:12Speaker 1: I like to be around is somebody who's fun and
- 49:16Speaker 1: enjoys moments, you know what I mean. And I could
- 49:19Speaker 1: tell from one dance with her that she was funny
- 49:23Speaker 1: and that she enjoyed, you know, just moment, living in
- 49:27Speaker 1: the moment, being living in the moment right with special
- 49:29Speaker 1: to her. And so I knew, look, if I could
- 49:33Speaker 1: just get this young lady out on a date with me,
- 49:38Speaker 1: I will be I can be me completely, and I
- 49:43Speaker 1: think she'll bounce off of it. We have something. There's
- 49:46Speaker 1: something about that, that energy that we have, that spark
- 49:49Speaker 1: that we have that's undeniable. And you know the fact
- 49:52Speaker 1: that she's pushing me away but telling me to come
- 49:54Speaker 1: close is proof that she feels it too. And so
- 49:58Speaker 1: from the first date on we were to you know,
- 50:02Speaker 1: we went out on a date and we and the
- 50:03Speaker 1: next day we were together, and the day after that
- 50:05Speaker 1: we were together until we got married, and you know,
- 50:08Speaker 1: we've been together ever since. But it only took one
- 50:11Speaker 1: date because I knew she's gonna enjoy what I have
- 50:16Speaker 1: to offer, and I'm definitely gonna enjoy what she has
- 50:19Speaker 1: to offer. And we sat down in a dingy ass
- 50:22Speaker 1: pizza restaurant that's no longer around and talk shit about
- 50:26Speaker 1: our lives. And then we went to the Dime, which
- 50:29Speaker 1: was right next door to the dingy ass pizza restaurant,
- 50:33Speaker 1: and ran into my old friend Jessica Macardo. That's when
- 50:37Speaker 1: I knew. I was like, this is this is this
- 50:39Speaker 1: has got to work. And she was on the first
- 50:41Speaker 1: date with the man she's now married to. Michelle Pasche
- 50:44Speaker 1: was spinning DJ Michelle Pace. For those of you who
- 50:48Speaker 1: don't know, Yeah, it just I just knew. I knew
- 50:50Speaker 1: that once we hung out, I knew that we would
- 50:53Speaker 1: have a lot of fun together. So yeah, we clicked
- 50:56Speaker 1: like we were as far as Gump would say, we
- 50:58Speaker 1: were like peas and carrots. Right away, He's and carrots.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Let's talk about um, Johnny c taking over the voiceover.
- 51:07Speaker 1: So this was the first time this has ever happened, UM,
- 51:11Speaker 1: and the first time a title of the show has
- 51:13Speaker 1: moved from my such and such to his story or
- 51:16Speaker 1: her story or what have you? UM? And then and
- 51:20Speaker 1: Bill establishing the convention of when it does happen. Uh uh,
- 51:24Speaker 1: some of the person who's sort of tapped and it
- 51:28Speaker 1: goes into their body. I don't know who the next
- 51:30Speaker 1: one was. Was it you Donald or was it Sarah?
- 51:32Speaker 1: I think Sarah's next, Sarah's next? And then where you
- 51:35Speaker 1: was it once a season that we did it? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 51:39Speaker 1: And then we introduced Eric Pogosian, who those who don't know,
- 51:42Speaker 1: Eric Pagozian is an amazing writer and actor and um,
- 51:46Speaker 1: when when Johnny C was on and he told that
- 51:48Speaker 1: story of doing the play Talk Radio where he forgot
- 51:51Speaker 1: his lines and he was late and Talk Radio is
- 51:55Speaker 1: an incredible play mostly a kind of a your epic
- 52:01Speaker 1: monologue by Eric Pagozian who wrote it, and Johnny C
- 52:05Speaker 1: asked him to come on and play his shrink in
- 52:09Speaker 1: this episode. So we also learned that Johnny's in therapy
- 52:12Speaker 1: and at least trying at least even though he and
- 52:15Speaker 1: his shrink have a very contentious relationship, He's at least
- 52:19Speaker 1: trying to do work on himself. Cox is in therapy
- 52:23Speaker 1: because of Jordan, though if I'm correct right, he's in
- 52:27Speaker 1: therapy just because he's a miserable human being and he
- 52:30Speaker 1: and no, but I think I think one of the
- 52:32Speaker 1: reasons why he did it was too If we go
- 52:35Speaker 1: back to when Jordan says, you know, when him and
- 52:38Speaker 1: Jordan are starting to get back together again, when she
- 52:41Speaker 1: walks out on him after he was supposed to do
- 52:42Speaker 1: the speech for Kelso, and he talks about Kelso like
- 52:45Speaker 1: he's an evil person. I think one of the things
- 52:48Speaker 1: he says to Jordan, if I'm correct, I could be wrong,
- 52:51Speaker 1: he says, Look, I'm doing therapy now like he wanted
- 52:54Speaker 1: me to do back in the day, so I can
- 52:55Speaker 1: work out my problems. I could be wrong. I don't
- 52:58Speaker 1: think I am, but you know, I think all of
- 53:00Speaker 1: the things that he's going through right now, at least
- 53:04Speaker 1: the therapy session that he's going through, was because of
- 53:07Speaker 1: him wanting to get back with Jordan. I would like
- 53:10Speaker 1: to ask Bill, but he won't answer this shit anymore.
- 53:12Speaker 1: So where are we have a new format with Bill?
- 53:15Speaker 1: As you know, Bill interrupts and goes on four minute monologues.
- 53:19Speaker 1: That's okay, We're gonna take a break and when we
- 53:24Speaker 1: come back, we're going to have a very thrilling guest.
- 53:27Speaker 1: And you know how I know that because Joel is
- 53:30Speaker 1: the person that picks them, and also we're gonna fix
- 53:34Speaker 1: their life. Oh yeah, and our new segment, and she's
- 53:37Speaker 1: gonna help us. We're gonna fix this person's life. She's like,
- 53:41Speaker 1: what did I sign up for? We'll be right Back'll
- 53:46Speaker 1: be right back. Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome, Christy. What's happening.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I'm good. How are y'all doing? Chilling? You got se Serrano,
- 54:05Speaker 1: Zach Brafft, Joel Monique, and Daniel Goodman on the line.
- 54:10Speaker 1: I have butterfly excited the audience to know that you're
- 54:15Speaker 1: wearing a very dope Selena shirt that Dan appreciate it, appreciate.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I love every Every Mexican loves Selena. They play it
- 54:29Speaker 1: at the at the hospital when you're born, come out
- 54:33Speaker 1: to batty batty bumbomb your baptism at your wedding. I
- 54:41Speaker 1: thought it would be I could fun different. That's yeah,
- 54:46Speaker 1: that's that's later on in your life. Well, uh, where
- 54:52Speaker 1: are you calling from, Chris? I'm next door. I'm in Phoenix.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I'm just right next to you guys here eighty. I
- 55:00Speaker 1: have degrees every day. Yeah, it's got to be burning
- 55:03Speaker 1: right now, like this is one of those six right now.
- 55:05Speaker 1: In the valley, So what's it for you? Today is
- 55:08Speaker 1: the first day in like forty five days that it's
- 55:12Speaker 1: under one and it's only one o nine today, So
- 55:18Speaker 1: we're like, hell, yeah, Chris, can you even go outside?
- 55:24Speaker 1: Or are you just like no, fuck it? No? Pools
- 55:28Speaker 1: are like just hot tea. You can't even go in
- 55:30Speaker 1: your pool. Grew up playing outside. I grew up like
- 55:34Speaker 1: I can do this. But now I'm thirty two and
- 55:35Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm so miserable. I'm irritated. You may you
- 55:41Speaker 1: just go to your car to get something that you've forgotten.
- 55:43Speaker 1: You're like just person in the world. It's awful, you know, Chris.
- 55:47Speaker 1: You know it's trending today. Uh the meme of me
- 55:52Speaker 1: going it's so hot everyone in Phoenix every day and
- 55:58Speaker 1: I send that to so many people, like people from Seattle,
- 56:01Speaker 1: people from yorkally got frends in Chicago and I'm like,
- 56:03Speaker 1: don't even talk to me right now because it's awful. Um, well,
- 56:08Speaker 1: welcome to the show. Welcome, welcome, you got you got
- 56:11Speaker 1: a question for us all, and obviously including the legendary
- 56:14Speaker 1: Sha Serrano, we can all answer for you. I do
- 56:17Speaker 1: have a couple questions, Um. One is for Zach. Here.
- 56:21Speaker 1: First we're just to music because I love the music
- 56:22Speaker 1: so much in Scrubs. My first, like partial question is
- 56:26Speaker 1: who is the Germany KA fan? Because you guys use
- 56:28Speaker 1: like we were four Germany Kay songs from the first
- 56:30Speaker 1: season or two. Do you know, maybe it's not Zack.
- 56:33Speaker 1: There's a couple it's not me, because I mean, I'm
- 56:36Speaker 1: sure I loved it, But I have to say the
- 56:38Speaker 1: most underappreciated voice in choosing music was was Krista Miller,
- 56:42Speaker 1: because yeah, she's one. It's music is her passion and
- 56:47Speaker 1: she really um kind of took you know, would be
- 56:51Speaker 1: you know, I've said this before. What we would do
- 56:53Speaker 1: is we would just feel like huge playlists of potential
- 56:57Speaker 1: songs in the in the in the average the computer
- 57:00Speaker 1: we use and uh and it you know, kind of
- 57:03Speaker 1: grouped by genre like, oh this should be sort of
- 57:05Speaker 1: a melancholy, heartbreaking thing. Oh this should be uplifting and exciting.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Oh this should be comedic and it was about and
- 57:12Speaker 1: lots of people would contribute like, oh my god, you
- 57:14Speaker 1: guys have to use this song. Um, but I think
- 57:16Speaker 1: that and then you know, you just try it until
- 57:18Speaker 1: in the in the computer, until you go My joke
- 57:21Speaker 1: with all the stuff I've created is if it's an
- 57:23Speaker 1: emotional moment like I do the goosebump on the arm
- 57:27Speaker 1: tracks like you can play your favorite song over and
- 57:30Speaker 1: over and over again. But if it doesn't match with
- 57:32Speaker 1: the with the with the moment and the show it,
- 57:35Speaker 1: the magic doesn't happen. And and even a song you've
- 57:38Speaker 1: been thinking about forever, you go, oh, man, I really
- 57:40Speaker 1: would have thought this would have been perfect here, but
- 57:42Speaker 1: it doesn't work. And then all of a sudden, someone
- 57:44Speaker 1: goes try this song and you're like, nah, it's not
- 57:45Speaker 1: gonna work, and they go, just try it, try it,
- 57:47Speaker 1: and you try it, and you go, oh shit, every
- 57:49Speaker 1: hair and my arm is standing up. Some some little
- 57:52Speaker 1: piece of magic has happened. Um, but no, I have
- 57:55Speaker 1: to I have to really be of a shout out
- 57:56Speaker 1: to Christa, who whom I think was, you know, really
- 58:00Speaker 1: the most in charge of music. Yeah, that's like I
- 58:03Speaker 1: think the stubs is the best status just matching the
- 58:05Speaker 1: tone with the some of you guys pick and then
- 58:08Speaker 1: the follow the question is, okay, back and Donald, if
- 58:10Speaker 1: you guys made the show in twenty twenty, what artists
- 58:14Speaker 1: or songs are you using now? Right now. Whop would
- 58:18Speaker 1: be on the soundtrack right now, we'd be talking about
- 58:22Speaker 1: that whop. I don't think I think it would be
- 58:29Speaker 1: I think when I don't think, I don't think you'd
- 58:31Speaker 1: be like, you know, because that wop. It's hard to
- 58:34Speaker 1: run around with sparklers to whop. But I could try.
- 58:42Speaker 1: There a lot, I know, in truth. In truth, I
- 58:44Speaker 1: bet you there would be a lot of Ed Shearon,
- 58:47Speaker 1: because that's one of Zach's favorite artists. There'd be some
- 58:50Speaker 1: show It's also people, yeah, because she's the daughter of
- 58:53Speaker 1: the creator of the show. There'd be some Elami Day
- 58:56Speaker 1: phase on because he's my brother and he's making music.
- 59:00Speaker 1: There'd be right There's still be Josh Raiden. Obviously, I
- 59:05Speaker 1: think the music still holds up. You know, as much
- 59:08Speaker 1: as those songs were new at the time, I still
- 59:12Speaker 1: feel like they captured every moment perfectly. So I don't
- 59:18Speaker 1: know how much the music would change. I still think
- 59:20Speaker 1: it would still be the same tone. I think I
- 59:23Speaker 1: think it would be the same tone. But there are,
- 59:25Speaker 1: of course, now this many years later, so many new
- 59:27Speaker 1: singer songwriters that then I'm sure we would try. Um.
- 59:31Speaker 1: It's funny, though, I will tell you something that I learned,
- 59:34Speaker 1: you know, when I made Garden State, I pretty much
- 59:38Speaker 1: you know, everyone said I wasn't gonna get that music.
- 59:41Speaker 1: And then I just kept trying and trying and try
- 59:42Speaker 1: and never gave up, never gave up, never gave up.
- 59:44Speaker 1: And then I eventually got all of the songs. But
- 59:48Speaker 1: then about ten years later, when I went to make Wish,
- 59:51Speaker 1: I was here. As I was filling off the sound,
- 59:53Speaker 1: you'd fall in love with the song, and the editor
- 59:55Speaker 1: would cut it to the song and you'd be like,
- 59:56Speaker 1: oh my god, and then we'd have to check, like, okay,
- 59:59Speaker 1: where's the song used? And then over the course of
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: those ten years we're talking roughly two thousand and four
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: to twenty fourteen, the convention of using music at the
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: end of your TV show to sort of summarize the
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: end of the of what everyone had learned had become
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: so pervasive that you just couldn't find an emotional song
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: that hadn't been used ten thousand times, right. And we
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: found like the websites where you can google, like where
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: has this been used? And it would be like, oh no,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: it was on Grey's Anatomy, it was on this, it
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: was on this, it was on this, It was this way,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: we can't use that fucking song. It's been so played out.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: So it became a very popular trend to this day,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: it still is, and so it's a lot harder to
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: now it's a lot more competitive to find music that
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: you're not gonna go. Yeah, that's a great song. But
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I just saw it on such and such a TV show.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: They used it. In fact, a little bit of trivia
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: that the dovetails with this I saw on Scrubs Wiki.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: It says that the song that ends the show that
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: we all love and it's so perfect. It was. It's
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: in an episode of the TV show Ed when Ed
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: proposes to his girlfriend, and of course Ed was played
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: by Tom Cavanaugh, who plays my brother. So you know,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: this is the kind of thing we'd run into NonStop.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: You know, when I was cutting wish I was here.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: As you'd fall in love with something, I'm like, oh,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: I don't want to do something played out and actually,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: to finish the point, um, the only song that's in
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: Garden State that's not on the soundtrack is a song
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: by Alexei Murdock called Are in Your Sky And we
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: didn't put it on the soundtrack because it was on
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: the OC, it had been used on It had been
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: used on the show The OC and at the time
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: we were like, oh, okay, we'll put it in the movie,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: but I don't want to put on the soundtrack. There's
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: some other trivia. Zach and I recorded somewhere out there,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: uh the song from American Tale. This is how hard
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: it is now, like we had done I forgot about it.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: We had done a Christmas We were going to try
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: and do Christmas songs like every year and stuff like that.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: And so the first year we did baby It's Cold Outside,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: which now nobody's gonna record ever again because maybe with
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: maybe with all maybe with altered lyrics, right, but that
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: shit's a rape song and uh no, but I mean
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: maybe the song is so beautiful. I hope that people
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: will maybe alter the lyrics and be like, baby, can
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: I call you an uber? Baby you've had Baby, you've
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: had too much? Can I make sure you get home safely?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: And so then a couple of years later we were like,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: we should do another one, and we chose another one
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight. Oh, we recorded,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: we laid it down, was amazing. We laid it down
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: and everything, and I played it for a buddy of mine.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: He was like, oh wow, this is just like what
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Donald Glover and Daniel Pooty did on Community. Community. Yeah,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: and watch Right, which we've never watched. But we spend
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: so much money. I'm trying to put the song out
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: and we were like fuck no, like god, like a
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: real producer. We laid it down. I can't believe we
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: never put it out. We I mean, now we'd have
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: to pay for the fucking rights to it. But it
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: was good. Yeah, it was anyway, so someone thinking of
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: even this episode is it's a great It fits so
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: well the old ninety seven Bill Bill sorted to ask you.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Bill sort of implied, Um, you know you weren't. You
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: weren't on the call earlier, Chris, but Bill, we had
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Bill Lawrence. Um was interrupted and he uh, he sort
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: of implied that they sort of wrote to the song,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I mean, um, which was interesting because he I think
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: they liked the song so much. They sort of made
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: the moment around the song, which is sha zack. Do
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: you guys ever do that? Do you guys ever write
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: to music? You mean, like a song puts you in
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: a field? Yeah, like, oh, let me get this. You
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: go first, Shay, and then I'll go Yeah. I actually
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: did like a little thing a couple of months ago
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: where I wanted to write this short story but I
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: only wanted to listen to one album while I wrote
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: the story, and I just played this this album on
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: repeat over and over and over again, hoping something cool.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: What happened It was like a Duke Allington album. But yeah,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I always have music playing when i'm writing. It's never
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: anything with words, though, It's always got to be something
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: without otherwise get to this track. I agree. I agree
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: with that. When I've tried ever to have words, I
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: can't write. But there's times where I want to set
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: a mood or a vibe for something i'm writing. I'll
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: choose sometimes classical or in the screenplay i'm working on now.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: I it's funny. It kind of just seeped into the
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: movie because I was like, I'm gonna put on some
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Chopin just to kind of like create the vibe, create
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: the vibe of the scene. And then I fell in
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: love with this piece by Chopin so much. I was like, well,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: this obviously has to be in the score for the scene.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: So then I was like writing into the scene on
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: a dingy record player, this song is playing. Yeah, lyrics,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I agree with Shay. Lyrics would would be distracting. Um, Chris,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: you got another question? Good Chris, you can you We're
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: going to hang out for a bit. Why don't you ask? No? No,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: he's got one more question, and then we're gonna fix
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: his life. Good. Well, So actually have a story about
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: by engagement which involves scrubs, which is why I reached
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: out to Joel a couple of months ago. So my
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: wife and I have been married for it. It'll be
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: seven years in October, and so she's a few years older.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: So I like totally relate to Turk in these last
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: three episodes. Um. So, when I was planning my engagement,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: it was going to be our two year aniversary in August,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: and I had their ring and I'm like, super not romantic.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I'm just so bad at showing those kinds of things.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: And so I was like, how do I propose without
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: being cliche able with like showing you know, a romantic
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: side of me? And so I decided that our anniversary
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: was going to be on a Sunday, and I was like, well,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I don't put to propose like on the Sunday went
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: out to dinner somewhere Christman. That was like very cliche
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: and or two anniversary. I don't want to do that.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: So I don't want to wait for the next day
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: because when she's like, well shit, this is because two
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: years and we're not going anywhere. And so I decided
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: to do it at midnight. And so I got off
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: work around nine thirty ten, and so when I went
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: to her place, I was like, Okay, I have the ring.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: How do I be spontaneous? And so, me being a
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: dummy like Kurt, I hided their ring in her medicine cabinet.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And my thought processes was, I'm going to ask her
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: some talanl at some point because I have a headache.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna make this excuse up that way she can
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: get me talanol. At midnight she'll see and be like,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: oh wow, he's the best person ever. I'm going to
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: marry him. And so what we do because Scrubs is
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: our show back then, this is twenty thirteen, and so
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I was I timed about four episodes that for the
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: fourth episode it'd be time to get the ring. And
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: so we're watching Scrubs and then it's like eleven thirty
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: sort of almost, you know, finishing up an episode, and
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: she goes to the bathroom. She gets to go to
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: the bathroom and I'm like, yo, what are you doing?
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: And this is her place by I'm like, yo, what
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: are you doing. She's like, I have to go to
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: the bathroom. I have a hang nail. I'm gonna get
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the clippers. And I was like, no, you can't get
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: up during scrubs. That's the rule. How dare you? You
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: have to finish the show. And she's like what And
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I was like, you can't go to the bathroom. You
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: have to finish the show. You have to sit down,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: and so she like using this tissy look and she
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: goes and sits down. And so in my head this
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: is where I'm like, Kirk, I'm like, hey, how do
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: I She's not going to see the ring because you're
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: gonna be focused on where the nail clippers are, which
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: is different within where the medicine is at. And so
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I get up and go to the bathroom during the episode,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: and I moved the ring to where her nail clippers are.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Seeing you like thinking that I'm the genius, like I
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: got this, this is easy, and so not knowing that
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I just told her she's gonna go to the bathroom.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: When I did the same things like comeback, sit down,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: like all right, I'm good. Ten more minutes of episode.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: And then an episode ends and I'm like, all right, showtime,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: we're gonna do this, and I say, hey, um, you
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: can go get the nail clippers now, and she's like, no,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: fuck you, I've bit off my nail. I don't need
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: to go to the bathroom anymore. So I'm like, oh shit,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: now my plan screwed up again, and so I go,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: how do I how do I trouble shoot this? So
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: the genius that I am so youth that did not
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: have it would be funny, it would It would have
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: been funny if she was like, I don't need neil
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: clippers anymore. But now I got a head, and so
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I said, I also have a handmail. Can you get
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: me the nail clippers? And she like looked at me
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: for like ten seconds like are you serious? Like you
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: need me to get that for you? And I was like,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: can you please get them? And then she gets up
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: go to the bathroom, sees the nail clippers. She freaks
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: out and like flams the mirror like she doesn't realize
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: it's happening. And then she opens it and I'm like, hey,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: can you come out of the bathroom because I don't
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: want to propose in the bathroom. That's a weird spot
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: to propose. Can you bring it out of the bathroom?
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: And then I proposed, dude, you're so lucky. You're so
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: lucky that the Handmaid's Tale wasn't out yet. So lucky,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: like that's how our thought always be Turkes like in
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: the wine glass, in the coffee monk. I'm like, I
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: get that. It's stressful. It is that I love you.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Were like, no one gets up during scrubs, What the
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: hell are you doing? This is well she said yes,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: I'd take it, so it'll be seven years in October.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: It's been really funny if she ended up saying no
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: and that's the end, that's the end of the story.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: She actually said no. After that, she said no, and
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: my life has been horrible ever since. Um, Chris, Yeah.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: First of all, Chris, welcome to the segment of the
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: program where we fix your lie. All right, we're ready
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: to fix your life now. The problem uh you have Chris,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: could be huge or it could be tiny. It could
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: be as tiny as do you guys know how to
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: you know, fix a broken light switch? Or it could
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: be as big as help me tell my wife, dude,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: fixing a broken light switch is very difficult. I think
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: between I think between all of us, Daniel probably knows
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: how to do it. Well, I'm saying it could be
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: it could be minimal, or it could be enormous. We
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: can solve it, and we're gonna fix it. And we
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: have Shay heroes way smarter than all of us, and
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: he'll help. Yeah, there's a lot of brain power here.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: I feel that with Yeah, well this is what's called
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: a free fixed session. Yeah, I wrote down a question.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I'm ready. So my question is when I'm when I'm
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: making a burger, whether it's a veggie or non veggie,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: where do you put the sauce and all, like the
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: lettuce tomato, I mean tickles. You put it on top
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: of the burger or you put it on the bottom
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: of the burger. Well, I'm gonna tell you Chris Donald
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: is quite a grillman, so he's gonna go hit him him. Wait, hold,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I do like to grill, but I'm gonna tell you something.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: I'm not the person to ask for this, I think,
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: I think, uh me personally, I fuck up burgers all
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: the time. So I can't help you at this point
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: in time. Uh, Daniel, you seem to know more about burgers.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: You honor me. Uh why can't we? I want Daniel
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: to answer, But why can you not answer? Where to
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: put shit on a cheeseburger? Because I fuck it up
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: every time? So here's my problem. There are a bunch
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: of places. There are a bunch of places to put it.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: So he's asking where you put the sauce. So you
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: can put the sauce on the bun. You could put
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: the sauce on the burger, or you could put all
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: of the fixings on top of the burger and then
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: put the sauce on top of the fixings. You know
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: what I mean. I fucked this up every time because
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: what happens is the way I do it. I forget.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: There's also you can put the sauce on the cheese
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: or under the cheese like McDonald's. All right, all right, okay,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: I'm just saying. I'm just saying it now when it
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: comes from burgers. Now I see why I'm glad you
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: didn't answer, Daniel, will you have a nice, beautiful, succinct
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: answer please. You're very sweet to say so. I think
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: timing is of the essence when it comes to things
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: like burgers. I think the longer you let anything sit,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: the saggier things will inevitably get. With all that said,
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: take the top bun, put my ketchup, my mustard or
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: whatever else you like, two pickles and slap out on
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: top of my burger. You don't putt tomatoes and stuff
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: on your Lettuce and tomato come in between. So I
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: would say, in that case, the bun with the sauce
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: on it, ketchup mustard and then pickles, and then I'll
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: put you know, the tomato or the tomatoes and lettuce
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: on the actual patty and then. But I think it's
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: controversial to put zero sauce on the bottom bun. Mhm.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I like to give the bottom bun a little love
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: as well. Anybody else I do? I do not. I'm
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: with Dan on this one. This is like, you know,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: the sauce is supposed to be an accent, and that's
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: too close to my tongue if it's on the bottom.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: I needed I need, you know, I need to protect
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: it a little bit. Okay, Okay, Joe, where you go? Wait,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: hold up, it's all going in my mouth. I don't understand.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: I didn't gonna be a good T shirt Joel. It's
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: all going in my mouth, all right, Chris. We I
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: think it's safe to say we have successfully fixed your life.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: You're welcome, Chris, Chris, You're welcome. You're well, You're welcome.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: I have a recommendation, actually, if that's okay for Donald? Yes,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: I don't know how much Donald, do you listen to
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: podcast at all? Besides I don't Okay, I don't know,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: but I'm gonna have a recommendation, please I do. It's
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: kind of slag away from Shay Say does the podcast
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: with Jason Concepts. Yo, I've been all right, the Ringer
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: and Jason Concepts es the podcast called Binge Mode Donald,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: which they do m arcing huge um pop culture stories
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: like Lady graym of Thrones, Harry Potter. But they have
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: a Harry Potter give me a Star Wars season that
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: you I know would love. They do like deep dives
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: in episodes and interviews and stuff. So that's my recommendation,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: and I'm sure whenever Chris whenever I Chrismember, I remember
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: I try and recommend things to Donald because I know
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: his passions. He ignores them, and I'm hope that he
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: will take you up on it. But I'm the guy
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: who's like scrolling through my phone because I'm bored, and
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: I stumble across like a death Star fire pit, and
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my god, Donald needs to get this
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: death Star fire pit. Doesn't reply, doesn't fly, doesn't even say.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: There's nothing practical about a death Star fire pit in
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: my in my fucking backyard. Dude can fall into the
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Death Star. There's so many things that can go wrong
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: with the Death Star fire pit. I'm just saying that
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: I'm sad that you don't try out my recommendations. Maybe
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I'm getting so dark where you are, but I gotta
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: hit the light switch. I got light. Um, all right, Chris,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: thank you so much for coming on. Chris. You've been
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: a great guest man. Chris, you are a great guest
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: and you make me want to wear I don't really
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: know the music of Selena, but I feel like I
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: would look cool wearing a Selena T shirt that. Yeah,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: if you get the chance, dodsda heat do what you
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: can man, Well, thank you so much. I want to
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: talk about something. Andy and Sean are are in the
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: group of doctors that Cox invites over for drinks and
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: wings of sports on TV. Yes, so for those of
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: you who I'm about to say, for those you don't know,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: you couldn't know when they cut to Zell sir, when
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: when Cox is trying to invite his friends over and
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Zeltzer asks if there's there'll be prostitutes and someone and
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: someone says no, and he goes, oh good. Um. The
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: two men who are next to him are our gaffer
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: and our key grip. The gaffer is in charge of
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: all the lighting and the key grip is in charge
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: of everything, all the gear and every and and uh
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: and so many things. So the two sort of very
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: high crew people on the set. We we're a side
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: by side Zeltzer, the people that that Johnny c was
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: asking to come over also, uh, Johnny Castle's great in
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: this episode. We never really give shout outs to Johnny Castle,
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: who plays No. I've had a couple of fans asking
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Johnny for I had to have Johnny Castle on. We
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: should do that. He does such a great job on
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: the show and the crazy thing about the character. The
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: character is so fucking annoying, dude, I'm not gonna lie
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: like Cox, he annoys the shit out of me. But
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: his arc at the end is so amazing and works
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: so well, like all of these fuck ups and all,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: like Johnny Castle is going to start to lose patient
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: after patient after patient, each one of his patients is
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: gonna die. They move him to the Morgue. But his
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: arc at the end of it all is so worth it.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Like I think Johnny Castle Avengel eventually killed so many
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: people they were like, why are you work in the Morgue? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: But his character arc is so great and he becomes
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: he becomes so confident at his job when it turns
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: into what it's going to turn into. I don't want
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: to spoil it for anybody, but he becomes so confident that,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: you know, this annoying, uh nervous guy that pops up
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: in a few episodes a season, when he gets to shine,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: he shines. And so I'm really excited for that. I'm
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: waiting for that. I know it's going to take a
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: couple of seasons, but I'm waiting for it, and I
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: can't wait. What do you think about Nurse Roberts says,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: whole God run montage. That was funny that she was
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: hilarious dude, her jumping over the freaking dude on the
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: she's OJ. All of a sudden she turns into OJ's commercial.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: How did that happen? Uh? And then uh? What what? What? What?
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Surprised me? And I want to ask you guys about this.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Did it throw you off that JD was still allowed
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: to have fantasies even though he wasn't telling the story.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: Does he does? He's at dinner with Turk, they're eating
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: at the restaurant wherever it is. He has a fantasy.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I think it's his fantasy of Cox hitting dude over
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: the back with the chair and all of that stuff.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: That's that's a good question, and Sha might know better
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: than we do. But I always assume that when the
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: person took over the voiceover, they took over the fantasies too.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: But I don't recall do you remember that, Shay? If
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: that's true or not, it's not exclusive to to U
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: being the narrator of the show, no right, because the
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: people do have fantasies. I was just wondering if it
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: threw anybody off because when I was watching it, I
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: was like, I assume that. Oh, so you're saying that
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: was j D's fantasy, not Cox's fantasy. Yeah. Absolutely, he's
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: talking about it. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. But I will say this,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: we all have fantasies on the show at some point,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: you know, and you're doing the monologue still, you're still
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: doing the narration. Yeah. Yeah, it's funny. And there's a
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: little funny thing in that fantasy with Johnny cs So,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: and this is the first episode with Johnny the tackling
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: Alzheimer's patient who was our sort of senior stunt coordinator, Ernie,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: and Ernie is in the segment where Johnny also not
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: only does he play the tackling Alzheimer's patient, but he's
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: in the segment where where Johnny ce is hitting people
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: with the chair. He's the next guy over, which made
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: me think there's probably another He probably nailed him too,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: and they cut it out because why would Ernie be
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: sitting there. I don't know, you know what I'm talking about.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: He nails the first guy, yeah, obviously obviously stuff man,
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: and then he and then Ernie kind of begins to wins,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: and I'm like, they must have cut out him nailing
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: Ernie as well. Here's another thing that I noticed, and
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: I want to give a shout out to all of
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: our extras that we're on the show. We call them
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: background performers. Now, Donald, my point is, shout out to
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: all of the background performers, because not only are some
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: of them doctors in the hospital, but some of them
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: are patrons at restaurants. When you when you're watching this episode,
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: I noticed, I noticed that a lot of them are uh,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: sitting behind us when we're eating dinner. But what but
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: what's your shout out to them? Like they were able
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: to not only be people at hospital, you guys, they
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: were able to be people at restaurants. No, my shout out.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: My shout out to them is that we had a
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: bunch of people that really worked hard to be seeing
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: on our show uh and and uh and create characters,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: and sometimes they were asked to do things that and
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: fit you know what I mean, like continuity when it
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: comes to our background. It gets better as time goes,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: but in the beginning, everybody was trying to get in
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: where they fit in. And this is one of those
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: episodes where I recognize, oh wow, what is she doing
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: in the background? Here when she was just in the
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: background at the hospital with the lab coat on. The
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: funny thing is is that our go to regular background performers.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I think we're very aware of like where to find
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: the camera because like snoop dogs in the back of
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: like a lot of shots of this episode. I saw
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: a colonel doctor, I saw a Beard fus say. I
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: think a lot of the greatest hits just knew where
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: to go, you know, they were like, I see where
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: the camera is, and my character will be crossing to
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: that whiteboard. Bill's final thoughts, Oh God, okay, Bill, all right,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: another interrupting Bill segment. You no warning whatsoever. Don't know
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: if there's music. I'm okay if there is. I told
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Dan or Joel to interrupt you guys when it becomes
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: clear that Shay Serrano, who was a big Scrubs fan
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: an amazing writer, knows more about the show than you two,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: because I am interested because so many Scrubs viewers actually
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: do rewatches and stuff. And be honest, Shay, whether or
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: not you've actually watched the whole series more than once,
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I'm betting there's no way you watched it more than
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: two or three times. But some people said, you might
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: have even watched it five six seven eight off. No, no, Dan,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: he said he was gonna stop doing it. No disrespectful
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: to the host. That was very That was clever, clever Bill.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: You know, I was on a call. I was on
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: a call with Bill and we were talking about something
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: else and he's like, it was very sweet. He was like,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I really got to come up with a new thing.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I know that I know the audience loves five six
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: seventy eight, but I want to shake it up. I'm
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna come up with a new bit for
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: season two. Cut to Okay, So I got a question
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: for you, dude, do you not know any kung fu moves?
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I don't know who you are? You talking to me
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: Za zach me because when I go, everybody goes kung
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: fu finding the air and then you hump the air
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: like you're fucking the air. No, no, no, no, that's
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: that's a kung fu move. Is in the legend of
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: the Drunken Master Jackie Chan Jackie Shay. So I'm clear
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: Jackie Chan fucks the air. You don't know the air?
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: That was that was deleted. That was a form. That
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: was a deleted scene. From Karate Kid Daniel Son Fuck
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: the Air. It was right after Paint Defence. That's a
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: really sweet moment in the in the show when the
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: therapist is telling doctor Cox, like, if you have somebody
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: in your life, we can get you to do something
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: that that's a special person. And then they cut to
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: we see Jad. I really like when when they tee
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: it up like that, when we gets it whenever, like
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: somebody is saying a nice thing about somebody else but
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: they're not hearing them say it, and just it's it's
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: really really great. Yeah. Well they cuts to Zack and
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Zach fucks the air and then the janitor drops in
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: from the ceiling. You don't um, you don't fuck the
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: air when you dance. No no, no, no, no no
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: no no no no no no no no no no
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: no no no, hold on, you're doing a theme dance.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: First of all, right, my character wasn't so focused on
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: kung fu as he was about doing his best dance moves.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: He's a loan and elevator, you know that that expression
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: danced like no one's watching. He was a loan and
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: an elevator and he knew no one was watching, and
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: it was time to fucking get his groove on. This
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: is default move. Yeah, it's my default probably my default
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: move too. I just do a little little so let
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: me get this straight go ahead. When kung Fu fighting
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: comes on and it gets to the no no no
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: no no nah no no no no no, let me
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: get back to the right key. No no no no
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: no net nah. I was supposed to suck the air.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: I would recommend it. Yeah, it feels nice. Okay, so
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: then why all the hand gestures like you were about
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: to do kung fu fighting and then fuck the air? Dude,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: I'm just being my wacky self. Okay, someone said, Zack.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: Someone I'm sure. Ken Winningham, the director of this episode, said, Zach,
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: come up with some funny ass weird dance move. Do
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: you want how funny? Story? Though, speaking about fucking the air,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: I remember being a little kid and a pivot. I
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: didn't even know. I didn't This is embarrassing, But this
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: is how much I love you are listeners that I'm
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: going to tell you another embarrassing story about me. I
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: didn't even know. Um, I was too young. Do you
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: even know about masturbation or really what sex was? I
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: think I just knew that the man and the woman
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: got in red together and lied on top of each other.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: And I was already of a of an age where
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: where that was titillating to me. But I didn't really
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: know much more than that. And I remember building up
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: a pillow a woman in my bed, and I was,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I don't know how I must have been, like, I
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: don't know how old. I'm gonna guess six or seven.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: Oh my god, I think my kids have any idea
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: what fucking is right now, dude, know what I'm saying.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: I didn't know about it. I didn't know about I
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: didn't know about the act. I just knew that I
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: imagined that they lie on top of each other and
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: make out and the baby gets made. I'm saying it
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: was that innocent. But I remember coming into my and
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: I literally laid out the pillows like like it was
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: a woman in bed. And then I came into my
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: room and yawned like hard, dear, we're honey and I
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: and I took up my clothes and I got into
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: bed and I laid on top of the pillow woman.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Nine months later, did she have a baby, Yeah, pillow baby.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: I had a pillow baby. But it's funny I'm just
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: thinking that there was some I think I had a
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: pillow girlfriendnamed Katya in this show. I there was some joke.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: There was some joke like as I lay on top
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: of my pillow girlfriend Katya. Yeah, that's the thing when
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: you when you walked in the room and you were
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: like spending time with your pillow wife, did you say
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: we need some romantic music right now? And then kung
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: fu fighting? Is what I just remember that in my
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: in my however a year old brain, I thought the
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: first step to making love to your wife is to
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: yawn and say I've had such a hard day. That
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: never works. Everybody tries that shit, Oh baby, you wouldn't
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: be had such a hard day to day. I have
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: so much stress. The ideal thing to happen is, you know,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: for things to happen after that. Usually you say that
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: shit and they're like, you know, so did I today? Anyway? Um, well,
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: some of the ending, because I thought the end definitely
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: gave me goose bumps, and I thought it was very
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: romantic and sweep that that that you run to the park,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: you're still doing your weird run. That nobody runs like that.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: But okay, I'll accept it. You're ahead of all haters.
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Like a cartoon caracter. Every Action star has a specific run.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: You want to see, Thank you Shay. You want to
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: see crazy runs. Look at how Harrison Ford runs, Look
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: at how the Rock runs. Look at Tom Cruise runs.
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: Every Action star has a run. Me if I would
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: a run like everybody else, you know what, it would
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: be not considered unique, just like every fucking leaning man
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: has a fucking walk. What this is your signature walk? No,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: this is my signature run. And I'll beat your ass
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: in a race any day currently, So currently I might
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: be able to beat you in a race. Currently, we
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: could go whenever you're ready. Whenever you're ready, I'm ready anyway. Um, anyway,
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: I thought it was very sweet. The song is beautiful,
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: and then they revealed JD running around with the Sparklers,
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: and I just thought it was really it was romantic
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: and it was very romantic. I love the song. Can
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: I ask two questions? Yeah, one of which is directly
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: related to the episode, but one of them is tangentially related.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: When Turk is at the bus stop eating the chili dog,
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: he wasn't expecting for that waitress to show up, right,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: because she shows up and he's like, oh, what are
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: you doing here? Good to he just hangs out at
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: a bus stop, eating atop eating chili dog. I don't know, Well,
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: he doesn't have your Well you have Malik, obviously, I've
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: obviously have Malik. But why we never have established in
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: the history of Scrubs or again that Turk rides the bus. No,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: I don't. I that's that's that's that's one of those
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: things that's just convenient to make it so. And you know,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: I guess he needs to run into her somewhere. I
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: can just picture the writer's room, Like, where is Turk
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: gonna run into the diner waitress? Yeah? Okay, then why
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: does he Why does he have a chili dog? Where's
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: the chili dog from? I have no idea? Yeah, um,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: James Coney Island somewhere nearby. Yeah. The other question that
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: I have is you mentioned the running Turk is running
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: through the park to get to Carla, and I wondered
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: on this most recently watched, like that happens, and then
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: there's an episode later on that you guys will eventually
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: get to where Turk but he's like having not a
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: not a crisis of faith, but there's very it's like
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: a religious episode and he ends up running through the
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: park to get to a person who needs help and
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: he feels like it was interviewed, was yeah, yeah, is
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: this is like is this a metaphor for a thing?
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Or is this just was it just a coincidence that
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: has happened, Like he's so weird that everyone was like
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: this year. That's a that's a that's a really good question,
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: like what is Turks? What is why is Turk always
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: running someplace? Well, no, I think it's not that deep.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: I think it's dramatic at the end of the show
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: to see someone I mean, how many fucking romantic comedies
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: and with someone running to get to the person, I
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: mean it's dramatic. Yeah, when Harry met Sally has a
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: has a great one where it's New Year's Eve and
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: he runs up to her to tell her that he's
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: you know, I imagine that's where they're trying to take it.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: Where they're trying to get it from. There's so many
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: movies where at the end of the movie when the
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: guy realizes, uh that he needs to or the woman
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: realizes that they need to be together, somebody has to
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: run to the other one's arms. You know what I mean.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: That's all I was curious about that. I wondered that too. Hey,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: so we did it, guys, we did it. We did it.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: We did it. Um, Shay remind everybody. For those of
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: you who missed the previous episode with Sha, shame on you.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: He Uh he self published an amazing book of essays
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: on Scrubs, and not only is he an incredible writer,
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: but he's very knowledgeable out Scrubs and they're beautifully illustrated,
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: and uh, we really highly recommend you get them because
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: if you're a Scrubs fan, and I imagine you are,
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: if you're listening to this, you're really gonna love this.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: Shay m remind everyone where to get it. He can
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: get it out of websites Sacred Heart, gang dot com
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: to Gang. He's also written lots of other books and
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: he's a really cool guy. UM, tell everyone how to
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: follow you on Twitter? Is it at Shay Serrano? There
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: it is whom just just spell it for people that
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: can't spell s h E A s E r r

- 1:32:51Speaker 1: into Twitter, which is the hellscape of of of entire earth.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: But if you're into it and addicted to it. Shay
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: is is a great follow and and and thank you guys.
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: This was This was a really good show. And I
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: miss you. I miss you all. I miss you too. Man.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: You know, I thought that we could end today's show
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: with my brother Olami Day. Ye music, let's do it
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: talk tell us about Elamidade Donald So. Olami Day was
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: in the band back in the day called Imagine and
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: they had a couple of hits on the radio and
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: they did well, and they broke up at a really
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: really young age. And now he's making his own music.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: And you know, you can find him on Spotify, you
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: can find him on iTunes wherever. You can tell everyone
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: how to spell his name because it's a little tricky. Oh,
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: it is a little tricky. Actually, it's O L A
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: M I D E Olami Day phase on my last name.
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: And we're gonna start, We're gonna we're gonna end the
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: show with the one of his songs. It's called Hey
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: There Love. And I want to thank Joel. I want
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: to thank Shay for being on the show today. I
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: want to thank Daniel for being the awesome dude that
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: he is. For all of those guys Zach brappan myself.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: This is Alami day with Hey their love? Look back

- 1:34:19Speaker 1: think again? I thought I was quite jump time and
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: wounded lands be hum that night when l guess love
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: had the different plan Because here we are. Look at
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: where we stand, Hey, their love? How did we end
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: up at the autum after all things that we've been through? Hey,
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: their love? Look how we turned down? Who said happily
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: care fare after would never be found? Hey methout haye
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: that no mistakes, so maintain lie. But somehow things turn out.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: Find to think we had our doubts, only to find
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: we can live without each other love and special ways
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: to shine east like through dark and skies. When it's real,
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: everything just feels fright. Look at you and die. We
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: gave us to try to try to try hate that.
