- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm super excited because today my brother, my sister in law,
- 0:20Speaker 1: the one I've spoken about, Cheryl, who was in the
- 0:24Speaker 1: room when I gave birth to Sosa, They're coming out
- 0:27Speaker 1: with their two sweet kids. I want to call them
- 0:30Speaker 1: little kids, but they're not so little anymore for my
- 0:33Speaker 1: nephew's lacrosse tournament.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah he's nice.
- 0:36Speaker 3: I didn't know how nice he was until he's coming
- 0:39Speaker 3: down here for D one schools to.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Look at him. Yeah, it's pretty legit. No, it's really legit.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So I'm excited for this weekend.
- 0:45Speaker 3: I get a it's fun to now be because I
- 0:48Speaker 3: was the one in the games, you know, when all.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Of us were doing this.
- 0:51Speaker 3: So now it's fun for like me to not go
- 0:54Speaker 3: to sleep anxious so or nervous for tomorrow or.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Whatever it is.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I just get to go pack my little treats and
- 1:01Speaker 3: just watch some games I know.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And there's like one in the morning, afternoon, and at
- 1:05Speaker 1: night for like three days straight. And I'm so excited.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Same especially because I look at him and I remember
- 1:12Speaker 1: the day that I went to Nordstrom when I knew
- 1:16Speaker 1: that he was about to arrive and I got him
- 1:18Speaker 1: his first It was like a brown waffle material onesie
- 1:23Speaker 1: that said ed Hardy on it, Remember it with a
- 1:27Speaker 1: bulldog on it. And if she had like one of
- 1:29Speaker 1: those little.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Like like it was like a train conductor hat.
- 1:35Speaker 1: No, it was one of those like brayish hats with
- 1:38Speaker 1: the brim where it's like old school detectives, almost peak
- 1:44Speaker 1: peaky blind.
- 1:47Speaker 2: That's exactly what I mean.
- 1:48Speaker 1: A monocle, that's a monocy.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Just yes, it's crazy just to see and I know
- 1:54Speaker 3: a lot of people will be able to understand. It's
- 1:58Speaker 3: it's crazy to see my nephew at sixteen years old
- 2:04Speaker 3: driving a car when terrify I baby sat him with
- 2:08Speaker 3: you and little things like that.
- 2:09Speaker 1: When he was just driving around Juvie, you know, want
- 2:13Speaker 1: banging into walls. Now he could be.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Playing bangs.
- 2:18Speaker 1: And he's got like a girlfriend.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Like you just walk in and you're just like wow,
- 2:22Speaker 2: I'm now that guy. That's like I.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Remember when you were this big, and it's like you
- 2:27Speaker 3: were the person that was like fuck you, I don't
- 2:30Speaker 3: care right.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Well, didn't you hate when people were like, I've known
- 2:33Speaker 1: you grown up so much and you'd be like, okay, you.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Know the stupid ugglden. That's like, last time I saw you,
- 2:40Speaker 2: you were big. Yes, that's me now I know, And
- 2:43Speaker 2: I hated that guy. And now I have.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Become that the equivalent of them being like, yeah, and
- 2:48Speaker 1: the last time I saw you, you had way less wrinkle.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Last time I saw you, you were in a fucking
- 2:53Speaker 3: catcher's man. So let's move on right ship here so.
- 2:58Speaker 1: That I'm really excited for where I opened the fridge
- 3:01Speaker 1: this morning and the amount of Taco Bell mild hot
- 3:06Speaker 1: sauces that were shoved. No, no, no crevice. Is that
- 3:10Speaker 1: like an older person thing? No hold on to such
- 3:14Speaker 1: you did that?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, because and I don't know if anybody else does this, but.
- 3:19Speaker 3: When you order it through like grub Hub or anything
- 3:22Speaker 3: like that, you put like five packets. Sometimes they give
- 3:27Speaker 3: you zero packets. So I I tried to keep all.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I gotta go back and get a handful. But yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 3: Taco Bell is only good with Taco Bell sauce.
- 3:41Speaker 1: No, you can't add anything else. So well, I apologize
- 3:44Speaker 1: that I threw them all out. Then I didn't realize.
- 3:46Speaker 2: It was you.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I was trying to put things away and I'm like,
- 3:49Speaker 1: what are all these like things that are making it
- 3:53Speaker 1: so that I can't set something down in the fridge
- 3:56Speaker 1: because it.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Was in that liquid goal apartment.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and you do it to be careful about what
- 4:01Speaker 1: hot sauce you use like Chilula fantastic hot sauce, but
- 4:05Speaker 1: it doesn't go on Taco Bell, just Taco Bell sauce.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So that is the reason why I keep that liquid
- 4:12Speaker 3: gold is for went on that sad grub Hub.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Night where there's no packets in there. I've got some.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I deeply apologize. I truly wanted to place blame on
- 4:23Speaker 1: mom because it just tracked that the woman where.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Where is my phone?
- 4:30Speaker 1: And I'm like, literally in front of you, literally where
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm like, what you call it? You were the You
- 4:39Speaker 1: were the one that put all the hot sauce in
- 4:41Speaker 1: places where I couldn't put the jam down on a
- 4:43Speaker 1: leveled surface in the fringe.
- 4:45Speaker 3: What's funny is I saw it too on it and
- 4:48Speaker 3: I was like, uh, that was you.
- 4:51Speaker 1: You know, the more that we get older, we become
- 4:54Speaker 1: more and more like our parents. Although we try our
- 4:57Speaker 1: hardest not to be. I was sitting on the couch
- 5:00Speaker 1: the other day and I like had just eaten I think,
- 5:04Speaker 1: like a sweet roll with icing on it, off the
- 5:08Speaker 1: bust and I had been sitting there a solid twenty
- 5:11Speaker 1: minutes and I like feel the corners of my mouth
- 5:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my god, I'm my mom. I
- 5:15Speaker 1: literally have like the the icing in the corners of
- 5:20Speaker 1: my mouth.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I just see. So she doesn't know if she has food, right,
- 5:24Speaker 2: does she feel?
- 5:26Speaker 1: Does she have nerve endings to be like, oh that
- 5:28Speaker 1: doesn't belong there.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I'll let you know when I'm sixty four if I
- 5:32Speaker 2: have those nerve endings. I don't know. If I just
- 5:35Speaker 2: am walking around like.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Her, I started walking stiffly. I have food in the
- 5:40Speaker 1: corner of my mouth. It's I really need to pull
- 5:42Speaker 1: it together. And at the beginning of the year, I
- 5:44Speaker 1: was like, I'm going to start getting presentable for the podcast,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and somebody.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Always has a thing of throwing a wrench in the plan.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Though, yeah, well the fires happen, which you know, if
- 5:55Speaker 1: I can say, you know, more important things or darted.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I wasn't able put my makeup on, like, not.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That worried about it, but.
- 6:05Speaker 1: About bigger things to worry about. I do want to
- 6:08Speaker 1: say this really quickly because I've been told that Ocean
- 6:12Speaker 1: is a very cool kid, Like there's a lot. I
- 6:14Speaker 1: know she's a cool kid, but she's mine, right, So
- 6:16Speaker 1: we're like bias moms. But every time a mom approaches
- 6:20Speaker 1: me and they're like, oh, Ocean, my kid will not
- 6:25Speaker 1: stop talking about her. So I asked her. I was like,
- 6:28Speaker 1: what do you do to like make kids like so
- 6:30Speaker 1: down for you, dude? And she's like, the other day, high, Ocean,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I love you. I'm telling a story about you. She goes,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I put a little rock in my nose and I
- 6:44Speaker 1: blew it out so far and I was like, wait,
- 6:49Speaker 1: hold on, are you talking like your nose? That then
- 6:52Speaker 1: leads to like your eye and then your brain, Like
- 6:55Speaker 1: very cool. I'm sure that that was very impressive for
- 6:58Speaker 1: the kids in the schoolyards. But let's not do that again.
- 7:01Speaker 1: So yesterday we go to the park and I give
- 7:02Speaker 1: her strict instructions, like, if you make a friend, let's
- 7:05Speaker 1: not try to impress them by shoving things into our
- 7:09Speaker 1: bodies into crevices. Yeah, So she gives me like the
- 7:14Speaker 1: little head nod. She knows she's going in uh to
- 7:17Speaker 1: the playground and she's gonna impress people with her personality.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And she she meets a friend. Her name's Julia, and
- 7:26Speaker 1: they're swinging, and I'm still trying to get Ocean. When
- 7:30Speaker 1: she meets someone new to not just like start playing,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but like ask them for their name before they start playing,
- 7:36Speaker 1: because she screams to me on the swings, Mom.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Can this.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Friend come to my birthday? I go, let's ask her
- 7:49Speaker 1: for her name. So she got her name Julia. But
- 7:50Speaker 1: it reminded me of that Seinfeld episode because we do
- 7:53Speaker 1: talk a lot about like having friends and the circle
- 7:56Speaker 1: getting smaller, and as I see Ocean, I always go
- 8:00Speaker 1: back to the Seinfeld stand up where it's like, as
- 8:03Speaker 1: you get older, your circle gets tighter. You know, when
- 8:06Speaker 1: you were a kid, you know you had one thing
- 8:08Speaker 1: in common, Like you like cherry soda. I like cherry soda.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Whoever's outside of my house right now, that's my friend.
- 8:14Speaker 1: My best friend. Whoever is standing outside of my house
- 8:17Speaker 1: right now is my friend. And it's truly, It's truly true.
- 8:21Speaker 1: It is, but also really amazing and fun to watch
- 8:24Speaker 1: little kids interact and when they find one thing in common,
- 8:28Speaker 1: like Ocean, telling me that a little girl the other
- 8:31Speaker 1: day she likes stickers, and I love stickers, Mom. I'm
- 8:36Speaker 1: like that a bond, a bond that cannot be broken.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Do you know how many stickers there are? You go
- 8:44Speaker 1: to the grove, there is a little shop in the
- 8:48Speaker 1: farmer's market dedicated to stickers, And every time.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I pass it, I think I need to go in
- 8:55Speaker 3: there that and how is it still there?
- 8:58Speaker 1: I think the same thing.
- 9:00Speaker 3: It's like, but then again, every time I walk by,
- 9:04Speaker 3: there's at least two to three people in there.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's a small space, but it's also prime
- 9:08Speaker 1: real estate. I'm the girl who's so scarred and wounded
- 9:11Speaker 1: that every time I see all of these places that exist,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I'm like, there's no way that all these people are
- 9:17Speaker 1: staying in business. And I go directly to Ozark and
- 9:19Speaker 1: I'm like, money laundering.
- 9:22Speaker 2: There's front a way.
- 9:25Speaker 1: There's just no way. I don't buy it.
- 9:27Speaker 2: There's no way.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So Beyonce had her Christmas performance, and I'm just the
- 9:34Speaker 1: type of person where like, I'm a Beyonce stan Even
- 9:37Speaker 1: if I don't like the music that she's come out with,
- 9:41Speaker 1: like I find appreciation in it because I just think
- 9:44Speaker 1: she's an artist that is unmatched. Right, And even though
- 9:50Speaker 1: I sit there and I'm like, I'm just not it's
- 9:53Speaker 1: not my taste, the appreciation and respect still exacts the
- 9:58Speaker 1: art form is exactly respect that. Yeah, and she's one
- 10:02Speaker 1: a very few artists that still comes out with like
- 10:05Speaker 1: bodies of work, you know, And she's spoken about this.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I don't subscribe to these artists that just put out singles.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You know, It's an art and it has to tell
- 10:15Speaker 1: a story. And that's just you know, the little niche
- 10:20Speaker 1: that or niche that she puts herself in.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So everyone has been begging for her to come out
- 10:26Speaker 1: with more music because obviously everyone's obsessed with Beyonce. I
- 10:30Speaker 1: totally get it. She was going to she posted and
- 10:36Speaker 1: it said the caption was a look at the Horse,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and everyone was like, what could this mean? Maybe she's
- 10:42Speaker 1: going to close out with a third album, this like
- 10:47Speaker 1: story book that she's been telling. She pushed it back
- 10:50Speaker 1: due to the LA wildfires.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Respect.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yes, and she also she has an organization called be
- 10:56Speaker 1: Good b e Y and they donated two point five
- 11:01Speaker 1: million dollars, which I thought was very really incredible.
- 11:05Speaker 2: I do too know that really is incredible.
- 11:07Speaker 1: There's a lot of people out there doing amazing things
- 11:09Speaker 1: and I just saw I think it was released, well, yeah,
- 11:14Speaker 1: yesterday that Billie Eilish, Joni Mitchell, Lady Gaga, Green Day,
- 11:18Speaker 1: Gue Stefani, Jelly Roll and actually they have a pretty
- 11:21Speaker 1: solid lineup beyond those people. But they are doing a
- 11:25Speaker 1: California Fire Aid benefit and that's taking place January thirtieth
- 11:28Speaker 1: at the Forum and the new Into It Dome. I
- 11:31Speaker 1: think Into It was built for the Clippers, I believe,
- 11:35Speaker 1: so I think that's the new Clippers.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Where I want to go because it looks really really cool.
- 11:43Speaker 1: But if you guys want to watch this California Fire
- 11:46Speaker 1: Aid benefit, it is going to stream live on Apple TV,
- 11:50Speaker 1: Max Prime Video, Paramount Plus, Netflix, Serious, exem YouTube, and
- 11:55Speaker 1: Amazon Music. I will definitely And it's just for the.
- 11:59Speaker 2: People who may have missed the day, like me. When
- 12:01Speaker 2: is it?
- 12:01Speaker 1: It's January thirtieth.
- 12:03Speaker 2: January thirtieth, yes, perfect.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I want to give a quick shout out to the
- 12:11Speaker 1: Humane Society of Utah. They are taking in a bunch
- 12:14Speaker 1: of animals.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yes, if you know of any animals in need or
- 12:20Speaker 2: anything like that that need a shelter, anything, The Humane
- 12:23Speaker 2: Society of Utah is taking in dogs.
- 12:25Speaker 3: And another huge thing is Utah is a no kill
- 12:29Speaker 3: shelter all of Utah. So even if you have to
- 12:33Speaker 3: place these dogs in Utah, just know none of them
- 12:36Speaker 3: will be euthanized due to too many dogs.
- 12:38Speaker 2: They will find a home. So if there's any animals
- 12:41Speaker 2: that you know, we're we're over capacity at some shelters
- 12:46Speaker 2: we already have.
- 12:47Speaker 1: That's a huge problem in Alexa.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Like that is a huge one is Utah. And like
- 12:52Speaker 2: I said, no kill, which all of those dogs will
- 12:55Speaker 2: find a home.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And there are times that when Mom worked for the
- 12:59Speaker 1: Humane Society Utah, they would have no dogs. Yeah, I
- 13:03Speaker 1: don't know what they do differently, but I'm a huge
- 13:06Speaker 1: fan of the Humane Society, the Humane Society of Utah.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I've had the pleasure of going and you know, being
- 13:14Speaker 1: in their facility and hosting their galley.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I was going to say, you got you hosted the galley.
- 13:19Speaker 3: You did unreal. You've done amazing things for the Humane Society.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Beyond that, it's just the fact that I've been able
- 13:26Speaker 1: to see the facility and like really be boots on
- 13:30Speaker 1: the ground in.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Well, Mama, USh you worked there for sever.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Yeah, but the fact that they there are times that
- 13:38Speaker 1: you walk through and there's no dogs. Well that was incredible.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that was mom's biggest stressor some days going to work,
- 13:45Speaker 3: like we have zero dogs to adopt and people are
- 13:47Speaker 3: wanting to adopt well.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And it's hard because you want to take dogs from
- 13:52Speaker 1: other places that you know, places like La where even
- 13:57Speaker 1: without these wildfires, are well beyond capacity and it's like, okay,
- 14:03Speaker 1: well we have room for them. Okay, well how do
- 14:06Speaker 1: we get them there?
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yes, and they also I might be speaking way out,
- 14:11Speaker 3: but I believe it's Stockton or Teuila just in that
- 14:15Speaker 3: range that Humane Society takes in horses and things like that,
- 14:19Speaker 3: oh like.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Bigger, bigger animals.
- 14:21Speaker 1: But the Humane Society of Utah you to call.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Like donkeys or anything that was pushed it that you know,
- 14:28Speaker 3: like from that Like that's another just Utah is a very.
- 14:32Speaker 1: There's a lot of land there and a lot of
- 14:34Speaker 1: places who say we have room and if you don't,
- 14:39Speaker 1: if you don't know where to send them, you can
- 14:41Speaker 1: call the Humane Society of Utah and they can put
- 14:43Speaker 1: you in touch with somebody who can take care of
- 14:45Speaker 1: larger ana. Yes, yes, yes, on the heels of that.
- 14:50Speaker 1: What we just talked about with the benefit. I'm so
- 14:55Speaker 1: shook right now, you guys. I saw on the gram
- 14:59Speaker 1: I follow the LA Times. The oscars are still happening. Now.
- 15:05Speaker 1: That was a shock to hear at this time, at
- 15:09Speaker 1: this time. They will take place on March second.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And I think, is it second or sixth March second? Okay?
- 15:19Speaker 2: And the way when we were reading it and all
- 15:23Speaker 2: of that in the time that we're in, I thought
- 15:25Speaker 2: they could have worded it better and things like that.
- 15:29Speaker 2: But I understand them not canceling it and postponing it
- 15:32Speaker 2: because March second, I feel like, well, all the fires
- 15:36Speaker 2: will be contained and right out, and I feel like
- 15:40Speaker 2: that is going to be the time where a lot
- 15:42Speaker 2: of people will start to forget.
- 15:44Speaker 1: What do you mean forget? I don't know that. I
- 15:46Speaker 1: love that word.
- 15:48Speaker 2: People who aren't living in Los Angeles will soon forget.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Just how okay, So what you're saying is people who
- 15:56Speaker 1: don't live here or weren't directly affected, we'll forget. We'll
- 15:59Speaker 1: start the oscars will be a moment to remind remind.
- 16:03Speaker 3: You that that happened. And I think that is going
- 16:05Speaker 3: to be a really, really good like that's the perfect
- 16:08Speaker 3: time to do it. For people to not forget what
- 16:11Speaker 3: all of these people have gone through, because you see,
- 16:14Speaker 3: like Landon's mom in South Carolina and North Carolina when
- 16:17Speaker 3: they had those huge you.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Know, yeah, well people were writing in that they're still
- 16:24Speaker 1: not back on their feet. And then I start going
- 16:28Speaker 1: through all of these emotions of well, great, they've been
- 16:32Speaker 1: forgotten about quote unquote, So you know, I almost feel
- 16:39Speaker 1: guilty being like, don't forget about this, even though I
- 16:42Speaker 1: wasn't directly affected. But then we're like, well, the Oscars
- 16:44Speaker 1: are going to remind people, and then it goes back.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That's what I didn't like about the article is everything
- 16:49Speaker 1: that we spoke about on last week's episode. We were
- 16:52Speaker 1: saying it's not just people in Hollywood who are affected,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and whoever did this article it made it feel that way. Well,
- 17:02Speaker 1: it says now more than ever, the show must go on.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That's in quotes, writes The Times columnist Mary McNamara, And
- 17:10Speaker 1: then it goes on to talk about the spirit of
- 17:15Speaker 1: Los Angeles and our film community has always been one
- 17:18Speaker 1: of resilience, and the Oscars represent not just a celebration
- 17:22Speaker 1: of film but the industry strength and unity in the
- 17:25Speaker 1: face of adversity. But you're drawing a line between the
- 17:31Speaker 1: film community. It's basically playing into things that I've seen
- 17:35Speaker 1: on social media, and I don't love it. I think
- 17:38Speaker 1: that they could have worded it a bit different.
- 17:40Speaker 2: They could have worded it a lot better, because what
- 17:42Speaker 2: we just said, they just kind of threw everybody who
- 17:45Speaker 2: lives in the Los Angeles into production. Everybody here is
- 17:50Speaker 2: in production, and that is so far from the truth.
- 17:53Speaker 1: You know, I spoke, yeah, no, you're absolutely right, and
- 17:58Speaker 1: on that I spoke to a friend and you know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I just quickly called him just to check in, and
- 18:04Speaker 1: I knew he didn't live in any of the areas,
- 18:07Speaker 1: but I didn't even think about the fact that he is.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Actually you know, two three generations have been living in
- 18:15Speaker 1: LA And he said, you know, I'm fine, but my
- 18:17Speaker 1: parents lost their home and he goes and law. They're
- 18:21Speaker 1: they're like in their eighties. This is this is not
- 18:26Speaker 1: what they are. They're not equipped to go through something
- 18:29Speaker 1: like this, and they're fixated on their routine. You know,
- 18:33Speaker 1: but what about my walks in the morning. Well, mom,
- 18:35Speaker 1: you know, I got you a nice place to put
- 18:38Speaker 1: you and you can walk around there, and there's just different.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I know.
- 18:40Speaker 1: But but I used to walk down this street every
- 18:43Speaker 1: day and.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I used to say the neighbors like there's just stuff
- 18:47Speaker 3: about routine.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll never get back. And like that's the other
- 18:52Speaker 2: thing that you can't even go on that street, your
- 18:56Speaker 2: street and feel something of home. It's gone, right.
- 19:00Speaker 1: But I feel like with this La Times article, they
- 19:03Speaker 1: are completely discounting those those people.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the people like I saw somebody on ABC seven
- 19:11Speaker 3: and he was a.
- 19:12Speaker 2: High school football coach, lost everything.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and those are the type of people who had
- 19:20Speaker 3: generational like it was his parents and then his parents before.
- 19:25Speaker 3: It's like that was a third generation home. This dude
- 19:28Speaker 3: lived an amazing life. He helped a lot of people.
- 19:31Speaker 3: He doesn't have the means to just buy that again, right, No, Yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 3: And that's a lot of people you're only looking at,
- 19:38Speaker 3: like the mel Gibsons who lost their fourteen million dollar home,
- 19:41Speaker 3: who's worth hundreds of millions and all of that. You're
- 19:44Speaker 3: looking at a small percentage of these people who actually
- 19:49Speaker 3: can go and do that. Everybody else it's they're going
- 19:54Speaker 3: to have to move out of LA or you know,
- 19:58Speaker 3: you got to go into deeper territory, Like you can't
- 20:03Speaker 3: afford that land anymore.
- 20:04Speaker 2: It was gifted. You pay your profits right exactly, like
- 20:08Speaker 2: all of these people are going to have to be
- 20:10Speaker 2: uprooted out of their whole life.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and moves to a different state that is conducive
- 20:17Speaker 3: for their income. And that's sad. It shouldn't be.
- 20:21Speaker 1: No, I fully agree with you. I do want to say,
- 20:23Speaker 1: she said use the Oscar and the Grammy telecast to
- 20:27Speaker 1: raise money and awareness, suggests that those businesses in the
- 20:31Speaker 1: habit of giving a lists exclusive goodies donate to fire
- 20:34Speaker 1: relief instead acknowledge and honor all that the industry, the
- 20:38Speaker 1: frontline workers, and the city have endured with a more
- 20:42Speaker 1: sober ceremony, though not too sober, because God knows, we
- 20:46Speaker 1: could use a laugh. Just don't talk about how they
- 20:49Speaker 1: should be canceled altogether. That would make a bad situation
- 20:52Speaker 1: only worse. So I did like that she tied that
- 20:55Speaker 1: up with a bow. But I think that maybe they
- 20:58Speaker 1: should have held off on coming out with this until
- 21:00Speaker 1: I don't know the fires were out. I mean, as
- 21:03Speaker 1: of right now that eaten fires fifty five percent contained
- 21:06Speaker 1: the Palisades, I believe was at twenty two or something.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I want.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I think that article altogether.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Well, I mean, for a moment, you could have written
- 21:17Speaker 2: it me well not whoever wrote it you.
- 21:22Speaker 3: They should have just had proof readers and multiple of them.
- 21:26Speaker 3: They should have had worded that amazingly well, like we
- 21:29Speaker 3: have decided to diet to I don't know first response
- 21:34Speaker 3: a million, I think that.
- 21:37Speaker 1: No, I know, But the thing that shitty just about
- 21:40Speaker 1: publications in general is her heart could have completely been
- 21:45Speaker 1: in the right place we read it, but we just
- 21:49Speaker 1: and that's what's so annoying about people. Yeah, yeah, moving
- 21:55Speaker 1: on to kind of outside of the fire. I don't
- 21:59Speaker 1: know if you guys have about this family. I'm not
- 22:01Speaker 1: big on YouTube at all, Like I never got into that. Obviously.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I have a YouTube channel for the podcast, but as
- 22:10Speaker 1: far as like consuming content on YouTube, unless it's music videos,
- 22:15Speaker 1: I don't really go on there. So I see the
- 22:18Speaker 1: other day that HBO or I guess they dropped the
- 22:22Speaker 1: HBO that Max has come out with a three part
- 22:25Speaker 1: docuseriies on Micah and James Staffer, and I'm like, oh, okay,
- 22:30Speaker 1: what is this and why do they need a three
- 22:32Speaker 1: part docu series? So they are this family who started
- 22:36Speaker 1: a YouTube channel. Micah started it originally, and people found
- 22:39Speaker 1: her extremely inspiring. It's a family vlog and it started
- 22:42Speaker 1: with just Micah and her daughter. She was a single mom.
- 22:48Speaker 1: She was a nurse, Thank you Easton, and she ends
- 22:51Speaker 1: up going on Okay Cupid and finding James Staffer. They
- 22:55Speaker 1: get married, they start the vlog together, and from what.
- 23:00Speaker 2: The girl talking about it, because you've watched their videos,
- 23:04Speaker 2: right after they met and got married, life looked like
- 23:08Speaker 2: it just sped up like kids, marriage, right, the whole thing.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Yeah, they decided she had always talked about wanting like
- 23:15Speaker 1: a huge family. She said, I want six kids.
- 23:17Speaker 2: She was an only child, so that's I think also
- 23:20Speaker 2: why and I can agree with that. That's not weird
- 23:22Speaker 2: for somebody to want six kids and all that, But no.
- 23:25Speaker 1: We come from Utah. That's like no big deal. Right,
- 23:28Speaker 1: let me know when you're pushing twelve and then it's like,
- 23:30Speaker 1: oh that's a lot, but six and you're you come
- 23:34Speaker 1: from a small family. I totally get it. So apparently
- 23:38Speaker 1: they blow up. All of their videos are now being
- 23:40Speaker 1: sponsored by pretty large brands like dan In Athlete athleta Athleta.
- 23:46Speaker 2: A Swiffer. She does the Swiffer web jet.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so it was clear that the YouTube community that
- 23:54Speaker 1: she had built was catching on to, like, oh get it, girl,
- 23:56Speaker 1: Like this you're not only sharing your life with us,
- 23:58Speaker 1: but like you're you're getting paid mad money for it.
- 24:02Speaker 1: And there she talks about everything, I mean, from she's
- 24:06Speaker 1: filming her peeing on the stick waiting for it to
- 24:09Speaker 1: come through. It comes through as pregnant. We then follow
- 24:13Speaker 1: her going to the hospital because she's spotting.
- 24:15Speaker 2: She then and she talks about that like I'm spotty, yes,
- 24:19Speaker 2: Like that's the other thing, and like that's what everybody
- 24:22Speaker 2: was grasping is it's like.
- 24:23Speaker 3: You don't wait a week, you don't wait for the
- 24:25Speaker 3: next season. It's you know, while you're watching this, they're
- 24:29Speaker 3: working on the.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Next next video.
- 24:30Speaker 2: That was well.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Then I don't know if you caught this, but she
- 24:35Speaker 1: Mica gets on and she goes, you know, I'm sorry
- 24:37Speaker 1: for the way. We haven't been vlogging for like four
- 24:41Speaker 1: or five hours.
- 24:42Speaker 2: That's it. You took four or five hours right on
- 24:46Speaker 2: a miscarriage.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And that's when she says, we misscarried and lost the
- 24:52Speaker 1: baby and it was devastating. But I'm sitting here and
- 24:56Speaker 1: I'm like, wow, these people, like these are the real
- 25:00Speaker 1: reality starts because you're following every move they make every
- 25:05Speaker 1: single day. It's not a season, it is every single day,
- 25:09Speaker 1: multiple videas.
- 25:10Speaker 2: They wake up, they wake up and the camera literally
- 25:13Speaker 2: is on the bedside table. They grab that before their
- 25:15Speaker 2: phone and they start recording them like that is yeah, dedication.
- 25:21Speaker 1: No, it is dedication and a lot of work that
- 25:23Speaker 1: I don't think that I could do. And I also,
- 25:26Speaker 1: although I have been on reality TV, there is a
- 25:30Speaker 1: sense of privacy that still comes with that. Oh, the
- 25:34Speaker 1: cameras aren't up while this is happening. By the time
- 25:37Speaker 1: I have to go film number one, people may not
- 25:42Speaker 1: even be interested in my story that I have to tell,
- 25:44Speaker 1: or I just won't even have to talk about it,
- 25:47Speaker 1: or I'll be over it. These people are dedicating their
- 25:49Speaker 1: entire lives to giving you a play by play of
- 25:52Speaker 1: every moment they go through, and I understand people loving
- 25:56Speaker 1: to watch that because it is very relatable.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:01Speaker 1: So, after she has I think her third child or
- 26:06Speaker 1: some yeah, third child, she starts getting people excited for
- 26:11Speaker 1: the next big announcement and she comes out with we
- 26:16Speaker 1: have decided to adopt a baby from China. She said,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I've looked at over four hundred pictures this baby boy
- 26:25Speaker 1: really spoke to me, and this is what I read
- 26:28Speaker 1: is Chinese law. If someone in the United States wants
- 26:33Speaker 1: to adopt a Chinese baby, their law states that that
- 26:37Speaker 1: baby has to come with a special set of needs.
- 26:42Speaker 1: So Mica Staffer knew that the baby she was getting
- 26:46Speaker 1: was going to have specific needs that she would have
- 26:50Speaker 1: to meet.
- 26:50Speaker 3: And she said that if there were one hundred needs,
- 26:54Speaker 3: they were all right with ninety nine of them.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yes, And so they adopt this baby. Be he is
- 27:01Speaker 1: on his name's Huxley. He's on the forefront of all
- 27:04Speaker 1: of their vlogs. And then all of the sudden, Huxley
- 27:08Speaker 1: is missing in all the family photos. They come out
- 27:10Speaker 1: with a video that says we couldn't meet his needs.
- 27:13Speaker 1: He's now in a forever home. And keep in mind,
- 27:16Speaker 1: I'm reading this in an article. But I hated when
- 27:20Speaker 1: she was like, do I feel like a failure as
- 27:22Speaker 1: a mom? Like five hundred percent social media was in
- 27:26Speaker 1: an uproar over this. So I guess Huxley was born,
- 27:30Speaker 1: he had a stroke in the belly, he had autism,
- 27:34Speaker 1: and then he had a sensory need that they could
- 27:39Speaker 1: not meet. And when I tell you, like they were
- 27:43Speaker 1: canceled and from my own perspective, I think that they
- 27:47Speaker 1: should have been.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I mean, you go through all of this, I just
- 27:52Speaker 3: if you're going to put your whole life, sorry to interrupt,
- 27:54Speaker 3: if you're going to put your whole life on camera
- 27:58Speaker 3: in the you know, the battles you face, why would
- 28:02Speaker 3: you not come up and just ask about his needs?
- 28:06Speaker 3: And if people have, you know, things that they would
- 28:11Speaker 3: do differently, if people have special needs kids with other kids,
- 28:15Speaker 3: how do they go about it.
- 28:16Speaker 2: There's so many things that you put out on your
- 28:18Speaker 2: like you put your life out there.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Yeah, put him out there as being special that was
- 28:24Speaker 3: a thing. And now ask everybody what can you do
- 28:28Speaker 3: to make his life and his conditions livable in your life?
- 28:33Speaker 1: Right?
- 28:34Speaker 2: That is my biggest thing.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Well, there were a lot of people that were saying, oh,
- 28:41Speaker 1: was this just a way to get more fault to
- 28:45Speaker 1: follow them? Was Huxley? Who is this beautiful boy just
- 28:51Speaker 1: someone to bring into the family to continue this high
- 28:55Speaker 1: that they were feeling.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Yes, offers the dad started three separate channels of like cars,
- 29:01Speaker 3: this and that. So I feel like they were getting
- 29:05Speaker 3: they were getting very obsessed with they were chasing that
- 29:09Speaker 3: they were getting.
- 29:09Speaker 1: They were chasing the dragon and you guys, there's this
- 29:12Speaker 1: guy like, I think it's Ryan's toys. These YouTubers, some
- 29:16Speaker 1: of them. I mean, this little kid opens fucking toys,
- 29:20Speaker 1: you guys.
- 29:21Speaker 2: But it's a brilliant things.
- 29:22Speaker 1: It is brilliant. It's very brilliant. But he's making there.
- 29:25Speaker 1: He was on the highest paid YouTuber list for years
- 29:28Speaker 1: upon years in a row. They're making tens of millions
- 29:31Speaker 1: of dollars. So of course you would get addicted to
- 29:34Speaker 1: not only the love that you're receiving, but when the
- 29:36Speaker 1: pay check comes, you're like, holy shit, this is what
- 29:39Speaker 1: movie stars are making. Yeah, but the entire docuseries is
- 29:44Speaker 1: about the pros but also the large cons of deciding
- 29:49Speaker 1: to start a family vlog, which is a ginormous industry.
- 29:54Speaker 1: And I get this question a lot. Would you ever
- 29:59Speaker 1: want to have show based on your family? And it
- 30:02Speaker 1: really really freaking scares me. I think the stakes are
- 30:06Speaker 1: very high, and you know, I'm protective of myself, and
- 30:11Speaker 1: this is like with anybody come for me all day long,
- 30:14Speaker 1: you come for someone that I love, and you reach
- 30:16Speaker 1: a whole new level of just I will claw your
- 30:21Speaker 1: eyes out. Yeah, So to put a play by play
- 30:25Speaker 1: moment on YouTube to me exposes you to a lot
- 30:31Speaker 1: of things, which also include questioning people are very good
- 30:35Speaker 1: and we've seen it. I mean, there are people that
- 30:37Speaker 1: are consuming content where they like solve murders, but questions
- 30:41Speaker 1: start being asked, and some things just are none of
- 30:44Speaker 1: your fucking business, right, Yeah, but when you have such
- 30:49Speaker 1: a fine line where it's like, okay, well you can
- 30:52Speaker 1: share that you you know, went through this ginormous thing. Again,
- 30:57Speaker 1: this is not me backing up with the Stoffers.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Where is the line?
- 31:00Speaker 1: I'm saying what the docuseries is shedding light on. The
- 31:04Speaker 1: staffers are definitely at the forefront of the story, but
- 31:08Speaker 1: where is the line? And you know, some things that
- 31:11Speaker 1: are a big deal to me may not be that
- 31:13Speaker 1: big of a deal to you. And what I choose
- 31:16Speaker 1: to keep on or off of camera. So I found
- 31:19Speaker 1: it very interesting, especially the people they interviewed who are
- 31:22Speaker 1: like I was obsessed. We were also happy for them
- 31:26Speaker 1: when they decided to have another baby, or she would
- 31:29Speaker 1: get pregnant, or they were adopting a baby. And I
- 31:32Speaker 1: just can't think of anybody that I see or watch
- 31:36Speaker 1: and go I'm just like obsessed and so happy for them,
- 31:43Speaker 1: like I look, wow, amazing, But to sit and watch
- 31:47Speaker 1: someone else's life. I mean, I do it with Housewives,
- 31:49Speaker 1: but even that is so they don't show every detail.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It is one specific thing, one specific storyline that lasts
- 31:59Speaker 1: fourteen weeks plus a couple reunions, and then you move on.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I don't know that I could watch Housewives day in
- 32:06Speaker 1: and day out every single thing they go through, because
- 32:08Speaker 1: I wouldn't be interested.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Very true.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I need more of a produced.
- 32:13Speaker 2: You need a production.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I need a production. I need.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Exactly Yeah, but see there's different different lids for every plot.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's very true, because I do recommend watching this.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Though the docu series is really good.
- 32:29Speaker 3: We're only episode one, we haven't even really gotten anything,
- 32:33Speaker 3: and now I'm still hooked.
- 32:35Speaker 1: They're setting us up Episode two, I think comes out tonight.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I will be watching.
- 32:40Speaker 1: I will too, But I mean, I just there's so
- 32:47Speaker 1: much that's so crazy in life now where you you
- 32:50Speaker 1: look at the Kardashians and that was basically home videos
- 32:52Speaker 1: turned into the most intensive productions to where now they're,
- 32:58Speaker 1: you know, basically the most most powerful family on the planet. Anyway,
- 33:02Speaker 1: moving on, I want to quickly say that I have
- 33:05Speaker 1: started watching Traders. It is so good season three is
- 33:09Speaker 1: airing now.
- 33:10Speaker 2: It's so good. We had to go back and we
- 33:11Speaker 2: were watching season two.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Which is absolutely it's so good you guys that I'm
- 33:17Speaker 1: saying it right here and right now. I will do it. Yes,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I will do it. Still really to have me that part.
- 33:26Speaker 1: But when I say this, I didn't take into account like, oh,
- 33:30Speaker 1: there's actually missions that you have to go through that
- 33:34Speaker 1: require a lot of strength, like the.
- 33:36Speaker 2: One we watched last night, the new season. It was
- 33:40Speaker 2: Bob with yeah Bob the drag Queen.
- 33:44Speaker 1: And no, but the other guy's name is Bob who
- 33:46Speaker 1: used to host the one about losing weight and getting fit,
- 33:53Speaker 1: the biggest losing I suffered it.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Yes, it was he. I couldn't seeing him struggle even
- 33:59Speaker 2: with his heart attack. I was like, I would have
- 34:02Speaker 2: died halfway up that hill. No, he can't do it.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I can't, but it was.
- 34:07Speaker 3: It's just incredible to see like them actually working their
- 34:11Speaker 3: asses off.
- 34:12Speaker 2: In the mission, in the missions.
- 34:14Speaker 1: But I don't think I could be a trader. I
- 34:15Speaker 1: have too many tells.
- 34:17Speaker 2: But that's the good thing about your interview.
- 34:20Speaker 1: On the way in, did they give an interview? You
- 34:22Speaker 1: know more about the interview process than I do.
- 34:25Speaker 2: It was on the very beginning. You walk in and
- 34:26Speaker 2: you talk and you just tell about you and like
- 34:30Speaker 2: if you'd be a good trader or not, but you
- 34:32Speaker 2: would just be like, I don't know if I would.
- 34:33Speaker 2: I have a lot of tells, and I think they
- 34:35Speaker 2: would get me pretty early.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Well, I think I would accidentally slip up. Well, like
- 34:39Speaker 1: if we were talking about something, I would be like, well,
- 34:41Speaker 1: in our meeting last night with all the faithful.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Oops, no, you'd be at first, I wouldn't got to
- 34:50Speaker 2: get your shit ready.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I would be I'm obsessed with Gabby. Okay. She was
- 34:56Speaker 1: the only one who was onto who the trader was,
- 35:00Speaker 1: all right, She's like I heard them in the bookcase
- 35:03Speaker 1: and then everyone fights at breakfast and she's I thought
- 35:07Speaker 1: I was onto something and immediately it was debunked, and I'm.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Like, no, you know, fight, fight, fight.
- 35:14Speaker 1: And I love her because she's like talking about she's
- 35:16Speaker 1: a bachelor, right yeah.
- 35:18Speaker 2: And she's the cutest thing.
- 35:19Speaker 1: She's the cutest.
- 35:20Speaker 2: She has voice.
- 35:22Speaker 1: We named ourselves the Bambi's because we all have big
- 35:25Speaker 1: brown eyes and they're kind of doll like. I'm like, oh,
- 35:29Speaker 1: I'm obsessed with you, but no way would I want
- 35:31Speaker 1: to be on your team, because actually maybe I would,
- 35:34Speaker 1: because no one kills the people who are like her.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Right but for her when she saw them spoiler alert,
- 35:43Speaker 2: when they're like they saw.
- 35:44Speaker 1: It, everyone's seen it. A new episode airs Thursday.
- 35:48Speaker 2: When they're in the bookcase, she hears it and she goes,
- 35:51Speaker 2: but I left because I didn't want to be caught
- 35:54Speaker 2: just by myself. It's like, yell for somebody. Just be
- 35:58Speaker 2: the only one and watch two of them walk out,
- 36:01Speaker 2: and then even just like at the table, just say well,
- 36:04Speaker 2: why did you two walk out of a Bookcasebody's going
- 36:08Speaker 2: to look at them and go, well why, And now
- 36:10Speaker 2: it's up to them to trip through their stories of
- 36:14Speaker 2: whatever it is. But you could have done it.
- 36:17Speaker 1: But by the way, even without that, she was onto something.
- 36:21Speaker 1: But would you listen to her if she was like,
- 36:23Speaker 1: I think I know who the killer has and.
- 36:24Speaker 2: She if she looked sack even if like, would you
- 36:29Speaker 2: believe her if she came up to you and she
- 36:32Speaker 2: looked and just said so and so and so and
- 36:34Speaker 2: so came out of a random bookcase.
- 36:36Speaker 3: I'd be like, I believe you because you're not exactly
- 36:40Speaker 3: and I'd be like, okay, let's get them, Like all
- 36:42Speaker 3: she had to do was wait, but she did.
- 36:44Speaker 1: But she talked about it in breakfast and everyone was.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Like, but she heard a voice, that's it. You can't
- 36:50Speaker 2: just hear a voice.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Would she said, I heard Danielle's voice.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and it was Danielle. But instead of saying I
- 36:56Speaker 3: heard Danielle's voice instead.
- 36:58Speaker 2: No, I would have sat outside and then watched her
- 37:01Speaker 2: walk out.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I would have sat there and the like in the corner, hiding,
- 37:05Speaker 1: and then watched who came out, and.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Then you follow them and then you get people and go.
- 37:10Speaker 2: These two came out of a weird book case.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I also couldn't do it because I don't think that
- 37:14Speaker 1: I could turn on another trader like freaking uh Dan,
- 37:19Speaker 1: not Dan, Rob.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Rob, But I think he did the he did
- 37:26Speaker 2: the right thing. I think Bob the drag queen was
- 37:29Speaker 2: gonna he was too loud like he even said he
- 37:32Speaker 2: was in charge of everything.
- 37:34Speaker 3: He was going to get eaten. And now Rob looks
- 37:37Speaker 3: like a nice, faithful which question if the traders win,
- 37:42Speaker 3: does he does Bob still get some of the money
- 37:45Speaker 3: beyond trade he's done.
- 37:46Speaker 2: You have to be in the game.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You have to be in the game. So we're I
- 37:51Speaker 1: think that was episode three or four that aired. Three
- 37:54Speaker 1: that aired. A new episode of Traders is going to
- 37:56Speaker 1: air tomorrow night. Yeah wait, let's talk about all the
- 38:02Speaker 1: things that are happening in air news.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Air.
- 38:06Speaker 1: So, a Southwest pilot was arrested minutes before takeoff for
- 38:09Speaker 1: allegedly being drunk. My biggest freaking fear, you guys. A
- 38:16Speaker 1: TSA officer noticed he allegedly smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated.
- 38:21Speaker 1: So apparently this flight was about to take off. I
- 38:26Speaker 1: think it was like seven am, and they pushed it
- 38:29Speaker 1: to like ten forty five. The TSA officer could smell
- 38:33Speaker 1: alcohol on his breath and noticed he was acting a
- 38:35Speaker 1: little off. And he said in his interview that they're
- 38:40Speaker 1: taught if you see something, say something. So this guy,
- 38:45Speaker 1: this TSA officer, says something. The pilot is on the
- 38:50Speaker 1: plane doing his pre check, when officers arrive and say
- 38:55Speaker 1: you got to come with us. They give him the
- 38:57Speaker 1: field sobriety test, which he not pass and he says,
- 39:02Speaker 1: I had a few beers late last night. Still not okay,
- 39:06Speaker 1: Still not okay.
- 39:07Speaker 2: No, you've got lives on board, you you guys.
- 39:11Speaker 1: I just keep going back to if this TSA agent
- 39:14Speaker 1: didn't say anything. This drunken fool would have had one
- 39:20Speaker 1: hundred plus people in the air. This was in Georgia.
- 39:25Speaker 1: What the fuck is that not terrifying?
- 39:30Speaker 3: No, it's terrifying. It's terrifying to know that that wasn't
- 39:33Speaker 3: his first time. That was just his first time getting
- 39:35Speaker 3: caught seeing.
- 39:37Speaker 1: That's where my head goes too. I'm like, if you're
- 39:39Speaker 1: just showing up like that, this ain't your first time.
- 39:41Speaker 3: No, you got by, so if somebody smelt it on you,
- 39:46Speaker 3: that's the type of person where he forgot his scope
- 39:50Speaker 3: or something like that wasn't his first rodeo, and that
- 39:52Speaker 3: scares me even more.
- 39:54Speaker 1: But you have to drink quite a bit for you
- 39:58Speaker 1: to smell like Alcohl like, yeah, when you're sweating and
- 40:02Speaker 1: smelling that that's embedded in your body.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Right. Well, that's what I think I would like to
- 40:06Speaker 2: know his uh, his alcohol level.
- 40:10Speaker 1: That's what I would go more today because this literally
- 40:13Speaker 1: just came out. Well, by the time this airs, you
- 40:15Speaker 1: guys will probably know about it. And then there was
- 40:18Speaker 1: a I'm really upset about that.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I don't like this one, but there's a couple things
- 40:23Speaker 2: that I.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Get it, But go on Alaska Airlines flight attendant fired
- 40:27Speaker 1: for twerking on the plane. So she in the video.
- 40:32Speaker 1: If you guys haven't seen it, she's on a plane,
- 40:35Speaker 1: there's no one there's no passenger as it's.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Pre boarding, or it could have been they all got
- 40:42Speaker 2: off the plane.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Well, it says the video, recorded during a two hour
- 40:45Speaker 1: wait for the captain, was intended to celebrate the conclusion
- 40:48Speaker 1: of her probationary period with the airline. She captioned the
- 40:54Speaker 1: video and this is her caption, ghetto bit till I
- 40:58Speaker 1: d I E. Don't let the uniform fool you, and
- 41:01Speaker 1: then she shared it to both TikTok and Instagram, So
- 41:06Speaker 1: apparently there are guidelines with the airline when it comes
- 41:08Speaker 1: to social media. I watched the video. I thought the
- 41:12Speaker 1: video was very cute. It looked like she was celebrating
- 41:16Speaker 1: something right. I did not find it to be.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Provocative or tasteful like it was.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I thought it was cute.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I thought it was very.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Cute, and like the torking, she literally starts off the
- 41:30Speaker 3: video with like a towerk and a half and then
- 41:35Speaker 3: just turns around and is like dancing.
- 41:37Speaker 2: No one's on board.
- 41:38Speaker 1: The plane, no, But it's like a very cute dance.
- 41:40Speaker 1: It's like clapping her hands. She's like dancing like I
- 41:42Speaker 1: would dance with ocean, not the clapping. I don't have
- 41:44Speaker 1: much to twerk so well.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I mean, like that's the thing. It's I've seen women
- 41:49Speaker 2: do that near kids, near everything.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I know.
- 41:52Speaker 3: But you find it how you want to find it.
- 41:54Speaker 3: I mean, it's going to be a difference of opinion
- 41:57Speaker 3: for sure, But for me, it wasn't worth her losing
- 42:02Speaker 3: her job. But then again, her probation period.
- 42:06Speaker 2: What was that due to?
- 42:08Speaker 1: Again, No, I think it was you no no, no,
- 42:12Speaker 1: no no no. I promis no no.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Had a job six months.
- 42:16Speaker 1: You have your job and they probably put you on
- 42:19Speaker 1: a trial run.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yes, you're right?
- 42:21Speaker 1: How many yes? Like now you finally actually get the job.
- 42:27Speaker 1: But she did say I never thought a single moment
- 42:29Speaker 1: would cost me everything. She further commented on societal sensitivity, remarking,
- 42:34Speaker 1: can't even be yourself anymore without the world being so sensitive?
- 42:37Speaker 1: What's wrong with a little torque before work? People act
- 42:39Speaker 1: like they never did that before. Hey, I've done it.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I agree.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I want to wrap with uh. Jenna Lyons, who's on
- 42:47Speaker 1: Real Housewives of New York horrendous season didn't watch. I
- 42:50Speaker 1: don't know many people who did, so this could Jena
- 42:54Speaker 1: Allions is fantastic.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Right, here's the thing. I liked the whole cast. Something
- 42:59Speaker 2: just need to.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Happen, right exactly. It has nothing to do with the people.
- 43:04Speaker 1: It has everything to do with like just story wasn't working, Like.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Storylines need to change. I find everybody on New York
- 43:11Speaker 3: to be very interesting. Me too, very interesting. But yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 3: I don't they got to do something.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Well, guess what. Jenna Lions showed up into the UH
- 43:19Speaker 1: to the reunion. She wore a bathrobe. She looks fabulous.
- 43:24Speaker 3: I that is everything instead of like a tiding dress
- 43:28Speaker 3: and all that.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Yeah, my last last season, you guys, she wore jeans
- 43:33Speaker 1: because she's.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Yeah, and when you're in the industry of fashion, yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 3: nobody can tell you.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Now this Uh this bathroobe was four thousand dollars. She
- 43:45Speaker 1: wore diamonds with it. Here's where I want to hate
- 43:48Speaker 1: on her. It is Balenciaga. And you guys, back in
- 43:53Speaker 1: the day when the Baloenciaga stuff was happening, I was like,
- 43:56Speaker 1: I proudly don't own anything of Blancioga. I ope, been
- 44:00Speaker 1: my tiniest little arm law in the apartment and I
- 44:03Speaker 1: see a blue, an electric blue mini Balenciaga bag, and
- 44:10Speaker 1: then I have those tiny little glasses that are also Balancioga.
- 44:14Speaker 1: I did not mean to lie to you, guys. I
- 44:16Speaker 1: just my memory slipped me.
- 44:20Speaker 2: I have Balenciaga stuff, I have kept it, I have
- 44:23Speaker 2: not worn it or and will not wear it until,
- 44:27Speaker 2: like I said, they do a clean house of that
- 44:29Speaker 2: whole brand and everybody in it.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Well, I don't love that she wore the Balancioga and
- 44:33Speaker 1: honestly I want to hate on the bathrobe. When I
- 44:35Speaker 1: first saw this, I was like, fuck that, maybe because
- 44:37Speaker 1: I was a little jealousy cozy, But then I looked
- 44:42Speaker 1: at her in it, and I'm like, she looks so chic,
- 44:45Speaker 1: But is like, a is this a moment for them
- 44:47Speaker 1: to try and get people talking about this season? Because
- 44:50Speaker 1: all I've seen is Bravo people dragging Real Housewives of
- 44:54Speaker 1: New York right now, none of the people specifically more
- 44:57Speaker 1: about the blogs. Just a horrendous season. But you know what,
- 45:01Speaker 1: if they're all going to show up in bathrobes fourth
- 45:03Speaker 1: that cost four thousand dollars, I'll watch next. That's just
- 45:07Speaker 1: my take, you guys. I hope you enjoyed this episode
- 45:11Speaker 1: of the Give Them La La Podcast. We will be
- 45:13Speaker 1: back in studio next week. I hope we're all safe, happy, healthy.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Enjoy the rest of your week, Happy hump Day.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Catch you on Monday.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Bye bathe
