Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous, It's Lala Kent. Welcome to Untraditionally, Lala. Hey, babes,
- 0:06Speaker 1: it's La La Kent, Welcome back to Untraditionally Lala. I
- 0:09Speaker 1: am so excited to have Frankie Grande on this podcast.
- 0:12Speaker 1: You have no idea. I've been obsessed with him for
- 0:15Speaker 1: quite some time, and the way that we met was
- 0:20Speaker 1: we did a film together and I was completely starstruck.
- 0:25Speaker 1: It's actually the same film that David Arquette spoke about
- 0:29Speaker 1: me being a total bitch on set, and I had
- 0:33Speaker 1: to call him out on socials to be like, could
- 0:36Speaker 1: you maybe take into consideration that I'm around, I don't
- 0:38Speaker 1: know you, Frankie Grande, Misha Barton, and maybe I was
- 0:43Speaker 1: a little intimidated. Can we maybe take a step back. Anyway,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Frankie was freaking fantastic on that movie, and I'm excited
- 0:50Speaker 1: to deep dive into him and his life and sobriety.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You guys know Frankie Grande as an actor, a singer,
- 0:58Speaker 1: a dancer, a producer, television personality. He's also the brother
- 1:03Speaker 1: of Ariana Grande. So let's give the warmest of welcomes
- 1:08Speaker 1: to Frankie motherfucking Grande.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Welcome to La La Can Show.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Oh you are just everything.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I miss you so much. I can't believe this is happening.
- 1:22Speaker 1: By the way, i just feel like I know you
- 1:27Speaker 1: so well from the time that we met and bonded
- 1:30Speaker 1: on the set of Spree and just watching your socials.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I'm like, we're so deeply connected. Am I a psychopath
- 1:37Speaker 1: for thinking that?
- 1:39Speaker 2: No, not at all. I feel exactly the same way.
- 1:42Speaker 3: We're also thrust into that environment in such a crazy way,
- 1:46Speaker 3: Like it was like, hey, have fun, You're locked in
- 1:49Speaker 3: a car together.
- 1:49Speaker 1: With a murderer I know, and Frankie I was so
- 1:53Speaker 1: intimidated by. I like, was this girl from Utah who
- 1:57Speaker 1: just like happened to be on a reality TV show?
- 1:59Speaker 1: And then I'm put into a car with like these
- 2:03Speaker 1: very talented, well rounded actors and I'm like, I have
- 2:08Speaker 1: no it's the first time ever I've struggled with Imposter syndrome.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Oh my god, well I have struggled with a Boster
- 2:14Speaker 3: syndrome myself. So when you say that, I'm like, oh, okay,
- 2:17Speaker 3: something we can talk about.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You look amazing. I'm so grateful that you're taking time
- 2:21Speaker 1: for me.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Are you kidding? I'm so excited. Stop it. We're friends
- 2:25Speaker 2: and also I'm thrilled.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Thank you okay, so so much for having me of
- 2:29Speaker 1: course anytime. Okay, are we all glammed up just for
- 2:33Speaker 1: the day or are we like in rehearsal mode just.
- 2:37Speaker 2: For you baby?
- 2:38Speaker 3: No, I'm gonna go see my friend perform at Carnegie
- 2:40Speaker 3: Hall after this, so it's like, you know what, let's
- 2:42Speaker 3: just like, you know, do a too, fer.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I love this for you. Okay, so you're you're currently
- 2:49Speaker 1: on Broadway right now.
- 2:50Speaker 3: So no, I just closed Rocky Horror last night, which
- 2:53Speaker 3: is why I have no voice because I've been screaming
- 2:56Speaker 3: and in the final show, I just let it all go.
- 2:58Speaker 3: I was like, you know what, I'm going my last
- 3:00Speaker 3: show for a second, I'm just gonna sing. And then
- 3:03Speaker 3: I cried after with the cast during our final bow
- 3:06Speaker 3: and just got home last night.
- 3:08Speaker 2: So I'm a little under but I am so excited
- 3:12Speaker 2: to be here.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Well, I think your voice is very sexy. Let me
- 3:16Speaker 1: ask you, so, do you when you start you said
- 3:20Speaker 1: it's your third year that you've done this. Yeah, before
- 3:24Speaker 1: every show, do you get nervous and go, oh my gosh,
- 3:28Speaker 1: what if it doesn't go the way I think it's
- 3:31Speaker 1: gonna go.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So in no, I'm very much about I like when.
- 3:36Speaker 3: It doesn't go the way we think it's gonna go.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Like I'm like a very on your feet kind of performer,
- 3:40Speaker 3: Like I'm a host as well, So like anything that happens,
- 3:43Speaker 3: like I'm just like, let me volley, let me play
- 3:44Speaker 3: on it. Like there was like one one day recently
- 3:48Speaker 3: where I drop a girl and the sound effect actually
- 3:51Speaker 3: of her hitting the floor happened before I dropped her, okay,
- 3:56Speaker 3: And then I dropped her and then I was like, wow,
- 3:59Speaker 3: I actually sounded like you hit the deck before you
- 4:02Speaker 3: hit the deck.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And then the audience just like lost their mind and
- 4:04Speaker 2: like started laughing.
- 4:05Speaker 3: So like things like that I love because it just
- 4:08Speaker 3: becomes It's what makes live theater so fun.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Did you grow up in the theater?
- 4:15Speaker 3: So I started when I was in fifth grade. My
- 4:18Speaker 3: very first show I did was Bye by Bertie Okay,
- 4:21Speaker 3: and so I just my mother also started taking me
- 4:25Speaker 3: two Broadway shows and I was like eight years old.
- 4:27Speaker 3: So I'd seen like Phantom of the Opper ten times
- 4:29Speaker 3: by the time I was ten years old. And you know,
- 4:31Speaker 3: I saw a Little Shop of Horrors at eight and
- 4:33Speaker 3: it was just like I was like.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Wow, this is so magical and I want to do
- 4:36Speaker 2: that one day.
- 4:37Speaker 3: So yeah, in my DNA was your mom in the arts?
- 4:41Speaker 3: Oh my mom is no, she's a ceo girl. She's
- 4:44Speaker 3: got like companies what wazoo and she but she loves
- 4:49Speaker 3: art and she loved exposing her children to art. So
- 4:53Speaker 3: like took me obviously when I was a very little kid.
- 4:56Speaker 3: And then as soon as Ariana was born, we were
- 4:57Speaker 3: all in the in the you know, going to Broadway
- 4:59Speaker 3: shows to together immediately, like and then ari got to
- 5:03Speaker 3: watch me on Broadway. You know, she was twelve years old.
- 5:07Speaker 3: It was when I joined mom and Mia. So it
- 5:09Speaker 3: was like, you know, it's like, yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 1: What an incredible experience to be artists. Right, you were
- 5:16Speaker 1: destined for greatness. What's the age difference between you and Ariana?
- 5:21Speaker 2: Ten long years?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Ten long years? And is it just the two of
- 5:26Speaker 1: you or do you have other siblings?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Just well, so I have a half brother, James, with
- 5:30Speaker 3: my dad and my stepmom. He's wonderful and yeah, so
- 5:34Speaker 3: it's just our little our little family.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I love that every time I think of you, like
- 5:40Speaker 1: you just embody everything that I that I want this
- 5:46Speaker 1: world to be oh, just very kind. Well I'm not
- 5:49Speaker 1: that kind actually, Well it depends on who you ask.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Some people think I'm wonderful. Some people think I'm a
- 5:56Speaker 1: giant cunt.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I love that though.
- 5:59Speaker 3: But because you can't be everything to everyone, you know
- 6:01Speaker 3: what I'm saying, because then you're not genuine. Right now,
- 6:04Speaker 3: you've got to kiss some fucking people off, especially like
- 6:06Speaker 3: today in this political environment, it's like you if you're
- 6:09Speaker 3: like not pissing someone off, then what the fuck are
- 6:11Speaker 3: you doing?
- 6:13Speaker 1: And you know what, I You can't please everybody, and
- 6:15Speaker 1: I don't want to connect with everybody because then we
- 6:17Speaker 1: have a massive problem. And I don't know who I am.
- 6:20Speaker 1: So there's a ten year age difference when when you
- 6:25Speaker 1: got into this environment where you're like on Broadway and anything.
- 6:30Speaker 1: You don't want to talk about Frankie, you just tell me.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:33Speaker 1: What I do know is that the two of us
- 6:35Speaker 1: share sobriety. Yeah right, and you've got eight years, Yes
- 6:42Speaker 1: I do, Okay, I just hit seven years. I want
- 6:46Speaker 1: to say last.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Week, happy birthday, Thank you, my love.
- 7:02Speaker 1: So I want to know what was what was that
- 7:05Speaker 1: moment of you were like, oh, I'm really digging the drink.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Or whatever your choice was. I found that being in
- 7:12Speaker 1: entertainment and you obviously possess talent, and I'm in reality TV,
- 7:17Speaker 1: but I noticed that it was like, oh, we're having
- 7:21Speaker 1: drinks whether it's nine in the morning or nine o'clock
- 7:24Speaker 1: at night, and it just became my norm. When did
- 7:27Speaker 1: it become your norm?
- 7:29Speaker 3: I think, well, So I got sober to like with
- 7:36Speaker 3: a sober coach two years before I went on Big
- 7:39Speaker 3: Brother so and because it was a challenge for my
- 7:42Speaker 3: therapist to see if I could do ninety days clean.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And I was like, of course I can, that's so easy.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I couldn't make it one day clean.
- 7:48Speaker 3: So I hired a sober coach and they stared at
- 7:51Speaker 3: me for ninety days and I did my ninety days clean,
- 7:54Speaker 3: and at the end I was like work, See that
- 7:55Speaker 3: wasn't that wasn't difficult at all. Meanwhile, I had to
- 7:57Speaker 3: pay a woman thousands of dollars stare at me and
- 8:01Speaker 3: just to get me to not drink, so and I
- 8:04Speaker 3: didn't learn shit. And then I was like, you know what,
- 8:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna like have one drink this month, and then
- 8:07Speaker 3: I was gonna have two drinks this month, and then
- 8:10Speaker 3: it was one drink a week, and then it was
- 8:11Speaker 3: one drink a night, and then it was every night again,
- 8:13Speaker 3: and it.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Was just wasted. Was wasted.
- 8:15Speaker 3: So I think when I realized that I had gotten
- 8:21Speaker 3: back into the swing of things so easily after paying
- 8:25Speaker 3: that woman for ninety days, I was like, oh shit, I.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Think I have a problem.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And then when I got the call to be on
- 8:31Speaker 3: Big Brother, I hired her again two weeks out from
- 8:36Speaker 3: going into moving into the house, because I knew that
- 8:39Speaker 3: if I went into that house and had to detox
- 8:42Speaker 3: on live television, I would be a fucking disaster. And
- 8:49Speaker 3: so I was smart enough to know, you're an addict,
- 8:52Speaker 3: you're an alcoholic. Hire that bitch, detox for two weeks,
- 8:57Speaker 3: go into the house. And so I left the Big
- 8:59Speaker 3: Brother experience over four months sober and clean, and I
- 9:03Speaker 3: was like, this is great, you know, like I'm great,
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'm so perfect, I'm ready. And then fucking after party, right,
- 9:09Speaker 3: you're standing there and you're with your fucking after Big Brother,
- 9:12Speaker 3: I'm out.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I didn't drink that night.
- 9:13Speaker 3: I was so proud of myself. Went to the after party,
- 9:15Speaker 3: and then you know, someone something happened. Somebody said some
- 9:18Speaker 3: shit about I don't know, tweet about fucking on Instagram
- 9:21Speaker 3: whatever the fuck it was, and there was a drink
- 9:23Speaker 3: and somebody was like, do you want to sit? Then
- 9:25Speaker 3: I was like yep, And then forty three seconds later
- 9:27Speaker 3: calling a dealer and back to the races and harder
- 9:30Speaker 3: than ever because I had just gotten off that experience,
- 9:33Speaker 3: which you know, reality TV is such a trigger.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yes, it's a really tough environment to be in.
- 9:41Speaker 3: You know, you joke about you know, not having talent
- 9:44Speaker 3: or whatever, but but reality TV I have found doing
- 9:48Speaker 3: both things takes a skill set to survive. That is
- 9:55Speaker 3: really difficult in demanding on your psyche, on your body,
- 9:58Speaker 3: and on your humanity, especially with someone who's stayings sober.
- 10:02Speaker 2: So don't underplay it.
- 10:04Speaker 3: You know you're you are an incredible person to be
- 10:07Speaker 3: able to exist in that world and be successful over
- 10:09Speaker 3: and over again.
- 10:10Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I really appreciate you saying that, because you know, I
- 10:13Speaker 1: have very self deprecating humor. But when it really comes
- 10:18Speaker 1: down to it, I look at reality TV as an
- 10:22Speaker 1: art and not everybody can do it, and not everybody can,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you know, go on and be authentically themselves and be interesting,
- 10:34Speaker 1: but it is I don't know, if you're in the
- 10:36Speaker 1: program or not. You don't have to disclose that I
- 10:39Speaker 1: am in the program, and I've noticed what's really hard,
- 10:43Speaker 1: and you know, honestly, my way to quote unquote success
- 10:48Speaker 1: in this environment is to be able to separate reality
- 10:52Speaker 1: from reality. Because if I don't do that, you know,
- 10:58Speaker 1: everything that I learn in my program and do with
- 11:01Speaker 1: my sponsor, it really when I when I step into
- 11:06Speaker 1: you know, reality television world, although very much real life,
- 11:10Speaker 1: it goes against everything that I learn in my program
- 11:14Speaker 1: for sure. So that is it does take you're playing
- 11:17Speaker 1: a character. It's survival. It truly is survival. And I
- 11:23Speaker 1: think that's a huge reason why I love la La
- 11:27Speaker 1: Kent so much, because Lauren from Utah that you know,
- 11:32Speaker 1: was very insecure and impressionable and didn't quite know where
- 11:36Speaker 1: she fit in. She would be eaten alive in this world.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And because you've done both, you know where you're on
- 11:43Speaker 1: stage playing an actual character, but then going into Big
- 11:46Speaker 1: Brother and you know that that's a game show. It's
- 11:50Speaker 1: basically how how can you move to to survive? Right?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yes, And it's a.
- 11:55Speaker 3: And you have to lie, and you have to manipulate,
- 11:57Speaker 3: and you have to cheat, you have to steal and
- 11:58Speaker 3: I'm not supposed to do that anymore's.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Supposed to do that, And now you're doing it for
- 12:04Speaker 1: the entertainment.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yes of others of the masses.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It is a mind fuck when you when you were
- 12:11Speaker 1: doing Big Brother, did you notice a different level of
- 12:14Speaker 1: fandom that came with that show?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, for sure.
- 12:17Speaker 3: And Big Brother fans are absolutely wonderful and absolutely horrible
- 12:21Speaker 3: at the same time. You know, like they are very passionate,
- 12:24Speaker 3: and if they love you, they love you, and if
- 12:28Speaker 3: they hate you, they hate you, right, And it's like, oh,
- 12:33Speaker 3: holy shit, I had no idea I was so hated
- 12:36Speaker 3: by so many people. And it's like, you know, yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 3: only I would say, like maybe thirty percent of the
- 12:42Speaker 3: viewers really hated me, But that's thirty percent of eight
- 12:46Speaker 3: nine million people. So it's like that's a big number.
- 12:50Speaker 3: And you see that shit and you start to ignore
- 12:53Speaker 3: all the love it the love, and you only focus
- 12:55Speaker 3: on the hate because that's how human beings are wired, right,
- 12:59Speaker 3: Like it's like fire Hume, remember fire hot, don't do
- 13:03Speaker 3: that again, and so like, ouch, that tweet hurt me.
- 13:06Speaker 3: That's all I think about. It doesn't matter that there
- 13:08Speaker 3: were eight thousand people that said I love you and
- 13:10Speaker 3: you're so fabulous. I'm like that, but that one person
- 13:12Speaker 3: called me if and that's it. I'm done, you know, right?
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:16Speaker 1: How do you handle the negativity in the comments section?
- 13:19Speaker 1: Have you learned to shut it out?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:24Speaker 3: I've learned to basically stay out of the comments. I
- 13:28Speaker 3: you know, Instagram is a really safe place for me.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I've cultivated a lovely audience there and I've got all
- 13:34Speaker 3: my words blocked and all that stuff, so I can
- 13:36Speaker 3: like go on and it's fine. I don't spend too
- 13:38Speaker 3: much time in the comments on X. I don't spend
- 13:41Speaker 3: too much time in the comments on TikTok. So you know,
- 13:44Speaker 3: if something is great, I have a team.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I have a social media team. I'll ask them. I'll
- 13:49Speaker 2: be like, hey, how's it going. Should I go into
- 13:51Speaker 2: the comments?
- 13:51Speaker 3: And they'll be like, yup, totally, you're good, or like
- 13:54Speaker 3: they'll literally be like, nah, there's some bullshit in there.
- 13:56Speaker 3: You don't need to worry about some homophobic discourse. And
- 13:58Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, cool you.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Oh I love that.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 3: And like the one, you know, the big thing, like
- 14:04Speaker 3: when I performed on Jimmy fallon this year, it really
- 14:09Speaker 3: uh sparked a lot of controversy and hate because I
- 14:12Speaker 3: was so so gay and proud. You know, I started
- 14:14Speaker 3: it in bed with two men and harnesses, and you know,
- 14:17Speaker 3: because it was fallin I didn't think it would be
- 14:19Speaker 3: an issue, but I get that then like fallen posts
- 14:22Speaker 3: on the Internet and then you know, like moms against
- 14:25Speaker 3: American blubba a fifty thing whatever. Who the fuck else
- 14:27Speaker 3: will like reshare it and be like this is on television,
- 14:30Speaker 3: and then you know, Republicans are up in arms. So
- 14:33Speaker 3: I did enjoy that discourse because it was actually something
- 14:38Speaker 3: that I was passionate about my art, and watching it
- 14:42Speaker 3: be challenging for so many people on Pride in New
- 14:46Speaker 3: York City made me happy and proud totally while I'm
- 14:50Speaker 3: actually fucking doing something with this opportunity to I have
- 14:53Speaker 3: been given to perform on Fallon and I didn't just
- 14:56Speaker 3: go stand there in like with a fucking microphone and
- 14:59Speaker 3: like a cool and be like you know, a fucking
- 15:03Speaker 3: you know, safe performance on Pride. I'm like, no, I'm
- 15:06Speaker 3: gonna be franky, I'm gonna be a big homosexual, and
- 15:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna start it in bed with two men, Like fuck.
- 15:12Speaker 1: You right, he's here, he's gay, yeah, good. It is
- 15:19Speaker 1: wild because I come I come from Salt Lake City, Utah,
- 15:23Speaker 1: and maybe I just came from a more liberal family
- 15:27Speaker 1: out there, but even the way that I go about
- 15:31Speaker 1: my life and you know, uh, my youngest was conceived
- 15:35Speaker 1: via donor, which had people up in arms. But you
- 15:38Speaker 1: really forget the world that we live in when you
- 15:43Speaker 1: when you travel between two places like Los Angeles and
- 15:46Speaker 1: New York that are very open and different, is just
- 15:50Speaker 1: you know, it's inspiring and it's embraced. And then you
- 15:53Speaker 1: post on social media and you remember that other people
- 15:58Speaker 1: exist in the world that that are not like you,
- 16:01Speaker 1: and it is a huge wake up call to like, oh,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I'm seeing things through a different lens because I've been
- 16:08Speaker 1: in my LA bubble or my New York bubble where
- 16:11Speaker 1: everyone thinks I'm fabulous and they love that I got
- 16:15Speaker 1: a donor and they you know.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Yeah exactly, and they're like, oh my god, great, are
- 16:19Speaker 3: you also vegan?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:20Speaker 3: Right, are you giving your baby vegan breast milk like work?
- 16:25Speaker 3: And then you're like post it on social media and
- 16:27Speaker 3: they're like.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeap, feed your child?
- 16:32Speaker 2: What the fuck?
- 16:33Speaker 1: What the fuck? It's a lot. You recently got married
- 16:48Speaker 1: within the last few years, right.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Yes, we got married. You just reminded me I have
- 16:53Speaker 3: to approve my repair and my wedding ring. I'm wearing
- 16:56Speaker 3: my wedding band right now. Yes, and yeah, it's wonderful.
- 17:00Speaker 3: It's really wonderful. I'm on his setup right now. I
- 17:03Speaker 3: got his little name in the corner. I'm like, oh,
- 17:05Speaker 3: my husband, I have a husband.
- 17:06Speaker 1: You have a husband. I don't have a husband. Did
- 17:09Speaker 1: it change the way you look at him once you
- 17:11Speaker 1: guys got married.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yes, because there was a little bit more stability in
- 17:16Speaker 3: our life and our relationship. And it's like, you know,
- 17:18Speaker 3: we spend a lot of time apart because of my
- 17:21Speaker 3: career in my life.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Right, like I am flying.
- 17:24Speaker 3: I'm gonna be on a plane basically every four days
- 17:26Speaker 3: for the next two months maybe, and it's just the
- 17:30Speaker 3: way that it is. But like our relationship survives that
- 17:33Speaker 3: now because we made this commitment to each other. And
- 17:37Speaker 3: it's like, you know, I'm really grateful and I'm so
- 17:40Speaker 3: grateful to him because he does have the harder, the
- 17:43Speaker 3: hardest a job, right.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Because like he is like kind of the at home husband.
- 17:47Speaker 3: He takes care of the dog, he stays around, he
- 17:49Speaker 3: goes to the gym, he looks hot as fuck, like,
- 17:51Speaker 3: you know, like he's got his things that he needs
- 17:53Speaker 3: to do handy. But I'm when but but he gets
- 17:56Speaker 3: a little lonely because you know, my life is so
- 17:59Speaker 3: crazy right when I am on the road, I barely
- 18:04Speaker 3: have time to miss him, let alone drink water, you
- 18:07Speaker 3: know what I'm saying.
- 18:08Speaker 2: So it's very different.
- 18:10Speaker 3: And so he's We've been doing really well, but there
- 18:12Speaker 3: is something about like just that commitment of marriage to
- 18:14Speaker 3: be like, honey, I know this next six weeks are
- 18:17Speaker 3: going to be fucking insane.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But then come Christmas, like, I.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Am yours for two weeks and it's me and you
- 18:24Speaker 3: and a fireplace and a dog, so like, let's just
- 18:26Speaker 3: get there. And it's like, you know, if it was
- 18:28Speaker 3: a boyfriend, it's a different it's a different feeling. You know,
- 18:30Speaker 3: it's kind of like, oh, well, why the fuck am
- 18:32Speaker 3: I sitting alone in the house?
- 18:33Speaker 2: You know?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Right? The stakes are much higher now, Yeah, you have
- 18:37Speaker 1: something to really put thought into and fight for.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yes, exactly do you two talk.
- 18:43Speaker 1: About having kids? Do you want children?
- 18:45Speaker 2: We've talked about it several times.
- 18:47Speaker 3: When we go back and forth, I think, you know,
- 18:49Speaker 3: I'm still in like a pretty substantial growth phase, I
- 18:54Speaker 3: think in my career. So like where I'm where I'm
- 18:57Speaker 3: trying to get to, I haven't gotten to yet. Happy
- 19:00Speaker 3: where I am, we're very content, but I think if
- 19:02Speaker 3: a child were to enter into the picture, it would
- 19:05Speaker 3: I wouldn't be able to do the gigs and the
- 19:07Speaker 3: jobs that I am currently pursuing, right and so, and
- 19:11Speaker 3: also financially, like I just want to be in a
- 19:13Speaker 3: better place. So we talk about it, you know, and
- 19:17Speaker 3: we haven't made a decision yet. You know, I'm forty two,
- 19:20Speaker 3: but like you know the men, he's thirty three, so
- 19:23Speaker 3: you know, we've.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Still got some time.
- 19:25Speaker 1: You have plenty of time.
- 19:26Speaker 3: I can be like a cool old dad, you know,
- 19:29Speaker 3: like I think Robert de Niro just had a son,
- 19:31Speaker 3: like yesterday.
- 19:33Speaker 1: The age and I used to think this was so cheesy,
- 19:36Speaker 1: like ag nothing but a number, And now as I'm
- 19:38Speaker 1: getting older, I'm like it truly is the vibe and
- 19:41Speaker 1: the energy and like what the soul is like? Right,
- 19:43Speaker 1: And you've got a very just like you've just got
- 19:46Speaker 1: this this youthfulness to you. You've got plenty of time.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Your husband is young. What I do want to ask you, though,
- 19:52Speaker 1: is because they're when you're an entertainer, you always say
- 19:58Speaker 1: not you, but just my In general, what I have
- 20:01Speaker 1: found is when I ask people do you want kids?
- 20:05Speaker 1: And when people would ask me even it was like,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I haven't accomplished what I want to accomplish. Yeah, But
- 20:12Speaker 1: then once you do.
- 20:13Speaker 2: You want more, right, it doesn't end.
- 20:16Speaker 1: It doesn't end.
- 20:17Speaker 2: No, you get the.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Tony, you want the Oscar, you want the Grammy, you
- 20:20Speaker 3: want the fucking whatever, Emmy.
- 20:22Speaker 1: We just crave the next goal and what we're going
- 20:25Speaker 1: to reach next. And I saw this thing on Instagram
- 20:28Speaker 1: the other day where it said being ready is not
- 20:34Speaker 1: not a feeling, it's a decision. Yeah, And I was like,
- 20:38Speaker 1: why is my mind so fucking blown right now? Holy shit?
- 20:42Speaker 1: So I wonder I guess my question.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Is do you I'm ready?
- 20:46Speaker 1: Will you like, will you ever accomplish what you want
- 20:49Speaker 1: to so that you can say like I think now
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm ready, Yeah.
- 20:53Speaker 3: And I will go back and not amend but clarify
- 20:55Speaker 3: like I have accomplished what I want to, which is
- 20:58Speaker 3: like being happy, comfortable and having my family.
- 21:00Speaker 2: So like, you know, I'm so grateful for where I
- 21:02Speaker 2: am right now.
- 21:04Speaker 3: I just mean, like, my schedule is fucking nuts so,
- 21:08Speaker 3: but I've seen like my mother, for example, the the
- 21:10Speaker 3: SHEEO of all her companies, Like was she ready when
- 21:15Speaker 3: she had me aied like twenty whatever, one, two, three,
- 21:18Speaker 3: four whatever? It was, No, absolutely not, but she just
- 21:21Speaker 3: you know, had her son. And then I was in
- 21:23Speaker 3: the boardroom with her, you know, like I was in
- 21:25Speaker 3: a little Armani suit, like in standing in front of
- 21:28Speaker 3: like a fleet of admirals in the Navy because she
- 21:30Speaker 3: makes communication equipments for the Navy.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Like it's like it's just like it just that's the
- 21:34Speaker 2: way it went, and it was such fun.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Badass.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah, she's a fucking badass. And she's like, you know,
- 21:40Speaker 3: the woman.
- 21:40Speaker 2: In the room.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Oh she's still the only woman in the room when
- 21:45Speaker 3: she went to all of those things, any sort of
- 21:47Speaker 3: trade show or business meeting, it's only woman.
- 21:49Speaker 2: So she's badass. But it's like, yeah, no, I guess.
- 21:53Speaker 3: So if you're saying, but I guess that's the luxury
- 21:56Speaker 3: of being a gay man is like we're not going
- 21:58Speaker 3: to accidentally get pregnant. Keep trying, but uh, nobody doesn't stick,
- 22:03Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, right, So, uh, I guess
- 22:06Speaker 3: that's the luxury of being gay is like we really
- 22:08Speaker 3: really don't we really do get to just like definitely
- 22:12Speaker 3: think about this decision very hard.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Right, no accidental like oops, I'm pregnant. What are you
- 22:17Speaker 2: doing now? You know It's like, no, that's not gonna happen.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm so dead. I love this. Are you Are you
- 22:25Speaker 1: close with with your siblings? Like, do you guys get
- 22:27Speaker 1: together and see each other or is it so your
- 22:29Speaker 1: schedules are so chaotic that it's like a well thought
- 22:32Speaker 1: out get together.
- 22:34Speaker 3: My sister was literally just said goodbye as I sat
- 22:37Speaker 3: were My sister she was literally just here as I
- 22:40Speaker 3: as I sat down, she was like, have a good podcast.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Like it's like we're very very close. We see each
- 22:45Speaker 3: other all the time, and you know, her life and
- 22:50Speaker 3: my life are just so crazy busy, but we always
- 22:53Speaker 3: find times like even on this last contract, yeah that
- 22:55Speaker 3: I was just doing like every Sunday night we had
- 22:57Speaker 3: dinner together. I came home, even if I got home
- 23:00Speaker 3: at like nine o'clock or whatever, Like I went straight
- 23:02Speaker 3: to her apartment. We had dinner together, and it was
- 23:04Speaker 3: just like it's just so important for me to have
- 23:07Speaker 3: those moments of connection with her, especially because we are
- 23:11Speaker 3: so close and because our lives are so crazy, right,
- 23:14Speaker 3: and how important family.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Is to both of us.
- 23:18Speaker 3: So we just spent all the time together mom my
- 23:20Speaker 3: mom was at the show with my husband and my
- 23:22Speaker 3: dog every weekend. So wow, I've also like been very
- 23:26Speaker 3: connected and great. And then yeah, they're all, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 3: my husband and my mom are outside waiting to play
- 23:31Speaker 3: a Lego party right now before I you know, go
- 23:34Speaker 3: to go see my friend in the show later.
- 23:36Speaker 2: So it's like we're very we're very close to family.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Can I tell you that makes me so happy, Frankie,
- 23:41Speaker 1: because I think what you said just resonated with me
- 23:44Speaker 1: of like I've accomplished what I what I want. And
- 23:47Speaker 1: I think when you're in this line of work, any
- 23:50Speaker 1: line of work, like you have your goals, but ultimately
- 23:53Speaker 1: once you reach them and you look at the bigger picture,
- 23:55Speaker 1: like all I really want is a peaceful, happy life
- 23:59Speaker 1: to around people who I really love and feel safe with.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Ye And the fact that you have, you've gotten to
- 24:07Speaker 1: where you've gotten to. Your sister is obviously who she is,
- 24:10Speaker 1: and you guys make time to remember real life and
- 24:14Speaker 1: what's important is so inspiring and amazing.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Oh, thank you and so welcome, so important because you
- 24:24Speaker 3: know in our line of where people.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Can spiral real quick. And I think the thing that.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Makes you not is that dedication to family and to
- 24:31Speaker 3: you know, really grounded relationships.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I fully agree with you.
- 24:36Speaker 3: These people have been with me since the beginning and
- 24:38Speaker 3: it's like, you know, we're just we're just you know,
- 24:42Speaker 3: Frankie and Ari when we're together, that.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Is so and it's lovely.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And you you've from from the womb to the
- 24:50Speaker 1: tomb baby?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Amen? Amen?
- 24:53Speaker 1: So what's next for you? Where are you headed next?
- 24:55Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Okay, So I'm going out on tour. I'm so excited

- 25:14Speaker 3: States Without Loud, which is this amazing production company that
