- 0:33Hamster with a blunt. Pen knife for doing.
- 0:35Quicker, quicker. Hello everyone and welcome back
- 0:39to which hamster with a blunt pen knife.
- 0:43Shit, I'm used to the book one. I'm watching Doctor Who today.
- 0:47I can't believe. It's so funny now.
- 0:48Is it after episode? The joke's on me.
- 0:52Yes. My name is Luke Sims Jenkins.
- 0:54And with me, Joe Ford. Say hello, Joe.
- 0:57Hello there, Contact has been made no.
- 0:59Contact has been made. John Arnold.
- 1:02Hello, contact has been made. Contact has been made.
- 1:08Yes, you have to say that every time.
- 1:09And Andrew? Contact has been made.
- 1:15He's not sure about it, you know?
- 1:16Contact has been made. He's only been.
- 1:20Half violated by the nucleus. That's right, and after the
- 1:25action-packed fun first episode with the awesome cliffhanger of
- 1:30the Doctor about to shoot Leela in the back, we're starting at
- 1:35episode 2. Yeah, so let's do it, shall we?
- 1:39Shall we just get straight into it?
- 1:41Yeah, let's go. I'm, I'm, I'm pumped because I
- 1:44always forget. No matter how many times I watch
- 1:47The Invisible Enemy, I always forget that episode 1 doesn't
- 1:51even have bloody canine in it. And I want to talk about canine
- 1:54already. So I guess, does anyone want to
- 1:58count us down? I do, if you don't mind how
- 2:02naughty I am on these ones and how less naughty I.
- 2:05Am on the book. Clubs, I'm so sorry everybody.
- 2:08You just said you were pumps. In 54321 off we go.
- 2:18Diddly dumb. Diddly dumb.
- 2:25We're still just watching the title sequence now.
- 2:27It's all Luke's. Now Luke's got to ask the
- 2:29question. I'm literally doing nothing in
- 2:31this episode. Put my feet out.
- 2:34Is this anyone's favorite title sequence?
- 2:35By the way, I'm. I'm an 80s kid so no.
- 2:42Yeah. Heartnell is my favorite because
- 2:44I just think it's for the time. It's super weird and freaky.
- 2:48I love it. Yeah, I think I'm the same,
- 2:52Heartnell. Yeah, I'm Peter Howell all the
- 2:55way as well, so I'm on. And then I'm Cath McCulloch, so
- 2:59I'm weird. Why'd you imagine that their
- 3:02hands go hairy when the nucleus takes them over like that?
- 3:07Well, have you ever heard about? You know how you get hairy
- 3:10palms, right? Wanking.
- 3:11Yeah. Hairy palms.
- 3:12Oh no. Please contact has been made.
- 3:15Joe. This is going to just be an
- 3:18episode of Oh You're. Being served with Andrew rolling
- 3:20his eyes in it. Look, he tried to shoot her
- 3:27there. That's Tom going No, please let
- 3:29me just get. One shot of her.
- 3:33Were they getting on at this point?
- 3:36Did they have it? On I'm not sure was the Sun make
- 3:39makers made before this or after.
- 3:43After I'm pretty sure. Yeah, because they're separated
- 3:45almost the entire story, almost as if they like they're not
- 3:49going on. But maybe I'm just reading too
- 3:51much into that. And actually, the way it skips
- 3:57from this setting to the next, obviously he's he's in a bit
- 4:01above her, biologically speaking.
- 4:03And so she takes him to a hospital.
- 4:05It makes perfect sense getting from there to there.
- 4:07It's when we go from there to in his head.
- 4:09That's when I did a bit more explanation perhaps.
- 4:14Quite a few passing thoughts going between Bob and David,
- 4:16that's for sure. That's a great line though,
- 4:18isn't it? Yeah, to be honest, I'd love to
- 4:22sit. I'd love to be a family on the
- 4:24wall by those two just bounced ideas off each other.
- 4:26What crazy shit are we going to do this time?
- 4:29I reckon they base the story. I reckon this is what how they
- 4:31base the story. I have.
- 4:33No, I don't know if this is true, but I reckon this is my
- 4:36theory. They sit in the room, they look
- 4:38at each other and they go. They just throw catch phrases at
- 4:43each other and they and then when one sticks, they build a
- 4:47story around it. That's my theory, I'm sticking
- 4:50to it. I reckon they've got like 100
- 4:52ideas in a bag and they just pull out 10 ideas and go right.
- 4:56How can we get all these into one script?
- 4:58That sounds Big finishy. That's the big finish idea.
- 5:01It's better. To have too many ideas and too
- 5:03little, right? Oh, they're fine.
- 5:08I like how Michael Shields now the the leader of the, you know,
- 5:12the infected people, but his scales are still aren't as big
- 5:16as the other dude. No, I reckon Saffron's got look
- 5:18at his hands on his hips, going like I'm more infected than you
- 5:21are. Come on, why are you in charge?
- 5:22I love Michael Shears massive camp goggles that he wears.
- 5:26Now to cover. Up that he's been.
- 5:28I mean, this is super camp, this story isn't.
- 5:31It let's be honest. By the end of the.
- 5:33Story Laila's in. One of those green outfits
- 5:36putting Lippy on going. Yeah, that'll do.
- 5:40I love that look at the glasses and the mustache.
- 5:43I I do kind of love how Leela trusts him though, and still
- 5:46trusts him because it does take advantage of naivety.
- 5:49So it's kind it's nice bit of writing on the character.
- 5:52I don't know, I think this story treats her like she's a bit
- 5:55stupid. Later on, yes.
- 5:58Yeah, I feel like when we've had Leela in like Robots of Death
- 6:03and like Horror of Bang Rock, where she's like super smart,
- 6:06not taking shit from anyone. And then in this one, she's back
- 6:09to being sort of a bit like childlike and naive.
- 6:13And she keep, they keep calling her a savage.
- 6:14And it feels like a little bit of a backward step for the
- 6:17character. When I watched her in the Sun
- 6:19Makers in preparation for the Strictly, I was so impressed
- 6:24with how one she. Was there's just got damage on
- 6:26it already? A Well, yes, nevermind.
- 6:29It's a nice idea though, right? The hospital inside the
- 6:31asteroid. Yeah, it's like it's.
- 6:35Neelis just piloted the TARDIS. That's true, I don't only have
- 6:38one teeth. So you're laughing.
- 6:41As well look as she's just on the sofa at the back with her
- 6:43legs out. Yeah.
- 6:45Just flipping through like what Hospital magazine?
- 6:48Space Weekly, Yeah. That's going to town on Extras
- 6:52by this stand. Take care.
- 6:54Of him now, won't you? I'll be all right here.
- 6:57Bless him. I mean, what's this like a dumb
- 7:00waiter that sends him down to the.
- 7:01Operation. Incinerate him.
- 7:06That looks like the thing for me.
- 7:07I can space where they're where they're all in the suspended.
- 7:10I don't know, there's something like that in there, isn't?
- 7:12It Hey, here comes the Cupric Oak.
- 7:16Ireland. Wonderful, wonderful pretend
- 7:20typing there. How does she type?
- 7:22There's no way you could do a QWERTY keyboard with with with
- 7:27the gloves on like that, no. If we all should all get
- 7:30together at a Doctor Who convention, right?
- 7:32Can I just ask that we all go in those green PVC costumes?
- 7:38There's also the only only doctor here that was wearing
- 7:41like a face mask as well and she's she's the reception lady.
- 7:45And she's got sort of a sink there, have you noticed?
- 7:47And it will sink next to her desk.
- 7:51Tattoos. Bad thinking.
- 7:52Just to wash her hands, yeah. Wash her hands and she's got the
- 7:55mask on the the airborne stuff. She's, you know, she's ahead of
- 7:58the time with COVID. Oh.
- 7:59My God. This this dude Marius, He's
- 8:07doing his best Salamander impersonation in this episode.
- 8:11I feel like like. Every two minutes, something new
- 8:13is going to happen in this story now that we're going to just
- 8:15shout something out, you know? What do we all think about
- 8:19Professor Marius's asset? It's a choice, right?
- 8:24It's a choice. It's nothing with Kerensky,
- 8:27isn't it? It's the same kind of choice of,
- 8:31you know, Zaraf or salamander or something like that, you know,
- 8:36those kinds of voices. It's very kids TV, isn't it?
- 8:41It's CBBC now actually. Yeah, it's a code for your
- 8:45eccentric scientist. Yeah, Oh, but canine?
- 8:51Canine being a little bitch there.
- 8:53Love him, do. You know what?
- 8:55This is going to be heresy to say this, but you know when he
- 8:58becomes a proper screaming queen in season 17, it's David
- 9:01Brealey. I mean, he's even gayer then,
- 9:04didn't he? But Professor is dead.
- 9:06I. Can't stand the David Braley
- 9:10came. It's it's just.
- 9:12Wrong I think. Because.
- 9:14Again, because I didn't see a David Brealey one until I was
- 9:18like an adult. It was always John Neeson.
- 9:20So they're not like when I saw that, I was like, what the fuck
- 9:22is this? What is coming out of Canine's
- 9:24mouth? This is this is wrong.
- 9:26Don't. You sit there and pretend to me
- 9:28that. You're an adult, Andrew Battle.
- 9:30Come on now. Not when you're doing Doctor Who
- 9:33book reviews on a monthly basis. Actually, that's a nice set as
- 9:39well. Look at the thing on the ceiling
- 9:40there. It's a bit like my Morp, isn't
- 9:42it? And.
- 9:42Yeah, I I love the image of the Doctor.
- 9:44So the Doctor's head on that as well.
- 9:46Yeah, Have they stolen that from Face of Evil?
- 9:49Yeah, I was going to say it looks it.
- 9:52Do you like it when the doctor waves up and goes?
- 9:53Hello. OK.
- 9:58Oh, there seems to be a suggestion right between that
- 10:01there's a sort of a relationship between Professor Marius and
- 10:04Parsons. And I don't mean a conjugal
- 10:07relationship. I mean just a friendship because
- 10:09he keeps going. Come along, Parsons and Parsons,
- 10:12you know, be a good boy and all of this.
- 10:14And then Parsons shot dead by the end of the episode and press
- 10:17the Marius goes, Oh dear, that's it.
- 10:22OK, there's just no time I'm. Afraid to worry about Parsons in
- 10:25this story? It was more exciting this Indies
- 10:28were about dug off. No, I mean, if I'd have said to
- 10:30any of you, like, you know, do you all remember Parsons, just
- 10:35the name, would any of you know what I was talking about?
- 10:37I'm going to come for Shardon. Oh, well done.
- 10:40Yeah, young Parsons. There's some other Parsons in
- 10:47Doctor Who though, isn't there? There's Nicholas Parsons in the
- 10:50coast of Frederick. There we go.
- 10:53I was thinking of a question. Any Parsons in Mindwarp?
- 10:56Is that the surname? Oh.
- 10:59I don't know. It's riveting contact.
- 11:00I love this. The Parsons Doctor.
- 11:05I think. That on the book of lists.
- 11:09Didn't the First Doctor throw a parser's nose at one point?
- 11:13That's a line in Rain of Terror. That's.
- 11:15It dude, we're about to get one of my favorite scenes in this
- 11:17story. It's when it's when low seeing
- 11:20the optometrist. Oh, look at the eye on the wall
- 11:23as well. Now.
- 11:26Oh my God, if. My hospital right had a massive
- 11:29picture of an eye on the wall. I don't know exactly where I'm
- 11:32going but they've got all these fucking coloured lines all over
- 11:34the floor. I don't know where I'm going.
- 11:36I reckon there's a rough draft of this where it's a dentist's
- 11:39office and and the disease affected you by like going into
- 11:42your mouth or something. And then they decided, no, that
- 11:44wasn't too hysteria. No one would go to the dentist
- 11:46or just make it the eyes. Luke, I was going to say, we
- 11:49don't want kind of mouth borne diseases here, do we?
- 11:51Come on, taking the potential of the story God think about, Tom
- 11:56would play that up. I'm just.
- 11:59I'm just. Going to like.
- 12:00Think about kids for a second year.
- 12:02That scene there where as an adult you're going, oh, come on,
- 12:05he's going to get taken over as a child.
- 12:07If you were like six or seven years old, you'd be going, Oh my
- 12:10God, get away. He's going to turn around.
- 12:11He's been infected. You know, like I do think they
- 12:14are aiming this about a younger audience and I don't think it's
- 12:17a problem really. As an adult though, when I see
- 12:20that scene I think to myself, wow, I'd like to be able to
- 12:23hypnotize my optometrist so he doesn't charge me a few $100 for
- 12:26the paragraph. You know, on K9 there where he's
- 12:30got like, the little WAVY lines going on his screen.
- 12:33Like, do they only do the screen in this story?
- 12:36Because I can't remember. Like yeah, because the.
- 12:42Historic meeting between. Leela and K9.
- 12:46And they're. Sort of bitchy with each other,
- 12:47aren't? They.
- 12:49No entry. Can I ask you guys a question
- 12:52about later on, right when he sends K9 to shoot them in the
- 12:57corridor and he goes through him, K9 Calle Lee and Lila goes
- 13:03Calle Lee and he just goes he knows and I'm like what am I
- 13:08missing? And that and that's strange.
- 13:10I don't know. I can't remember it.
- 13:12Never comes up again, does it? No.
- 13:13Oh, OK. Well, it's later.
- 13:14That story is, he explained in novelisation.
- 13:16Does Uncle Terence even bother? I don't know.
- 13:20Honestly, I don't know. I was hoping one of you fine
- 13:22gentlemen would have been paying attention, but here we are.
- 13:26No, you could have gotten 4 experts, 3 experts to be on this
- 13:29but. Wouldn't have had.
- 13:31As much fun. Though, no.
- 13:34Just love K. Nine.
- 13:36Yeah, he's awesome. Like but is canine for a younger
- 13:42audience? Is it a mission statement?
- 13:45I think so like you've got the the kind of, I know, quote UN
- 13:49quote, gritty horror stuff from like the last couple seasons.
- 13:53Talking dog is fun. That's that's all we restored.
- 13:57Talking robot dogs are fun. You can't call it anything else
- 14:01but fun. And you have you've made toys of
- 14:04this guy. Absolutely.
- 14:06It's a merchandising opportunity, too.
- 14:09Everyone loves dogs, everyone loves robots, right?
- 14:12They could have got it wrong in so many ways, couldn't they?
- 14:16Like are. They will in the 80s.
- 14:17Well, you know what Graham Williams said.
- 14:19Like it cannot be big enough for a person to get into.
- 14:22We want to, but imagine if they've done that right.
- 14:25There's a dog like that in. Is it in the original Battlestar
- 14:29Galactica? With a person.
- 14:31In it with a person in. It was it the daggy or something
- 14:35like that? Yeah.
- 14:36Yeah, I like that pose that she had has he's like sitting up
- 14:39like this. He's got this really awesome
- 14:41pose and he's he's doing the contact has been made pose.
- 14:44It's like, I've got this, everyone.
- 14:46I can literally say I'm really sorry Andrew, but I can.
- 14:49See Michael Shields Balls. Right now.
- 14:53Fortunately, the subtitles are in the way for.
- 14:59Me. I never would have looked if it
- 15:01weren't for Andrew. All right?
- 15:02Oh. My goodness.
- 15:06I mean, I mean, look at the costumes that these nurses are
- 15:09wearing. I just love future costumes and
- 15:12dogs are here are the best things ever.
- 15:14And every. That's where you get the
- 15:16justification. Put all the stripes and stuff on
- 15:17the space suits because the white costumes are so dull.
- 15:21Yeah. The green stripes and cufflinks
- 15:24bad. Pronto or green PVC I just need.
- 15:29To do, but even like right, even with with K9 being a no wall
- 15:34should have been so annoying. Like it's like the Wesley
- 15:36Crusher of Doctor Who and yet it just works.
- 15:39I don't know. Some magic occurred, didn't it?
- 15:44Yeah, it's not a kid like Wesley Crusher was.
- 15:46You know, if you see a kid your age on the starch benefit,
- 15:48you're bastard. Well, no, and Tom Baker kicks
- 15:52him every now to get to the stuff.
- 15:53Doesn't mean no one ever kicked Wesley Crusher, unfortunately.
- 15:58And King one's funny. Only when he was down.
- 16:00Give some shit out. I mean, is this is this supposed
- 16:06to be like? ER in space.
- 16:08OK, now I can see Michael Shields balls, right?
- 16:11Yeah, yeah. Thank you.
- 16:14That's good bro. That's the football.
- 16:15I've watched this show many times, and that's the first
- 16:17time, yeah. Yeah, that's where Sophie
- 16:20Orgreave gets him in. I mean, Michael, Michael Shield
- 16:25is in great shape in this in this story.
- 16:27Oh dude, he's ready for. It that costume is very figure
- 16:29hug hugging and yeah, he's pulling it off.
- 16:33You watched the Federation uniform a couple years later
- 16:35too, yeah. I said to Mark going up the
- 16:37stairs. Oh, I'm going to have the best
- 16:38time tonight. I'm watching The Invisible Enemy
- 16:41with Luke, John and Andrew. I've never, ever in a million
- 16:45years thought we get onto Michael Sheed's balls.
- 16:47I mean. Here we are.
- 16:49Oh, now this is really super interesting, right?
- 16:52This thing coming in, hitting the Because that's like a
- 16:54terrorist attack, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 16:57It's literally a terrorist attack.
- 17:01It's like, it's like the plane's going into the twin towers or
- 17:03something like that. They're deliberately trying.
- 17:05Well, no. All right.
- 17:06Yeah, I know, I know. Sorry.
- 17:07Bad, bad analogy. But you know.
- 17:13It's like the. IRA sending things into like
- 17:15buildings or something like that, or like in other countries
- 17:18where they they send vehicles and stuff and they blow them up
- 17:20like that kind of stuff. Yeah, it feels like now we're
- 17:23getting like disaster movie, like, Oh yeah, it's like they're
- 17:27doing a bit of Poseidon. Adventure, they're already.
- 17:29Born of the medical drama. Right into that building.
- 17:34Bob and Dave have ADHD. I I let me ask that because
- 17:37like, I have that too. I want to give up this one so
- 17:39much. Yeah, this is the energy in it
- 17:42is amazing and I what sells it is everyone kind of goes for it.
- 17:48I imagine they're sort of right in the script going, okay, so
- 17:50they're picking up the boulders and all this left over the
- 17:52damage from the from the terror attack.
- 17:55Okay, now I'm bored already. Let's shrink down the Doctor and
- 17:58put him in his head. I love how they cut away before
- 18:03they all jumped in there because there's no way they're fitting
- 18:05in that little lifting otherwise.
- 18:08It's getting very cozy down there, like.
- 18:10Does the does the way just hops about though?
- 18:13Does it bother you? Because it doesn't?
- 18:14I don't know. Why it?
- 18:15Normally it would, but. In this one it it skips along at
- 18:19such a pace I just don't care it.
- 18:21Gives it energy, yeah. It's witty.
- 18:26Around we're done. 5 minutes of that.
- 18:28Let's do some other shit now. But no, then the cliffhangers
- 18:33would start somewhere completely different, wouldn't they?
- 18:36The resolutions. Yeah.
- 18:39There's no Clara, though. But there is.
- 18:41That we know of. Oh, that's right.
- 18:45Oh, yeah. No, no, There is a Clara.
- 18:47She has to be there somewhere, doesn't she?
- 18:49Come on. You know, you know, Graham
- 18:51McDonald took a look at that script from the Pirate Planet
- 18:53and went, no, no, no, we ain't doing this.
- 18:55This is too ambitious. And yet he looked at this script
- 18:58with a fucking spaceship crashing into a meteor and
- 19:02asteroid hospital and all that sort of in the doctor's head
- 19:06stuff and went now, yeah, go for it, you.
- 19:09Know no problem. I'm sure we can do it.
- 19:13Oh dear, Oh dear. And Lila gets to play the action
- 19:16hero because you can get the Doctor doing the the Doctor
- 19:18stuff of being the smartest man there is and saving the day in
- 19:22the meantime. And nothing, they've just got
- 19:23Lila random Roman columns, just. Wow.
- 19:26I feel as if. It's the same interior designer
- 19:30that does. Gallifrey, you know, to give it.
- 19:32A sort of ornate look you just have like the odd column.
- 19:35Every. Now they're the same columns,
- 19:36aren't they? They're just going to repaint
- 19:37them later for Gallifrey, right? You know what they need.
- 19:39There's a few pot plots about the place that would make it
- 19:42much nicer. Some shrubs for for for loading
- 19:45him like the gates have. Already got them, they're taking
- 19:48them to Titan. Look at those glasses.
- 19:50Why, in the case of Adrasani, did the doctor not go, oh, do
- 19:53you know what? I could clone myself, go inside
- 19:55my own body, defeat the spectrox that's poisoning me, like every
- 19:59time he's in a bit of a pickle. Biologically speaking, he could
- 20:02do this, couldn't he? We never had.
- 20:03To come back here and see these bastards.
- 20:06It's just. Like at the end of The Two
- 20:09Doctors. Like when the when the Doctor
- 20:11calls the TARDIS with that remote thing and Colin's like,
- 20:14I've always wanted one of those. There you go.
- 20:16Look Calle Lee. What does it mean?
- 20:20Oh, there you go. Lee s s.
- 20:21What does it mean? He knows what?
- 20:25Can someone please Google? Calle Lee, please.
- 20:30Yeah, it's just load of bullshit, isn't it?
- 20:32Look. Look at this.
- 20:33Look at this. Look at this.
- 20:41Did you see that role she just did there as well?
- 20:47Did I miss it? I was Googling Calais leave.
- 20:53Oh, I'm so sorry. Of the story.
- 20:56Did you find anything? No, I don't think it means
- 21:01anything. And we distracted him from his
- 21:02favorite moment. Andrew, sorry.
- 21:06We'll burn in hell. There's a bit in a minute, right
- 21:10where? She's cloned and the doctor
- 21:13opens the door and she goes, now what's going on?
- 21:15And he just shuts the door in her face.
- 21:17Man, oh man. I bet Louise Jameson was pissed
- 21:19when he did that. It's quite funny as a joke,
- 21:22though. Do you know the director of this
- 21:25Derek Goodwin? He was a sitcom director, wasn't
- 21:28he? He'd done a lot of sitcoms and I
- 21:30think you can sort of tell with the pace.
- 21:34And he's encouraging them to look bits business, isn't he?
- 21:36Run in and out of the rooms. You know, keep it moving.
- 21:39If we know it's a load of dog shit, just keep it moving.
- 21:43Maybe they won't notice. Yeah, it's like when you compare
- 21:46this to like Silver Nemesis where you've got one shot for
- 21:51like 5 minute scene and leaden dialogue trying to land the
- 21:55comedy. It's very.
- 21:57Oh, I was hoping. We'd do self nemesis next, you
- 21:59know well. We knew you're loving McCoy, and
- 22:03to order a joke that was like. Will you be turned into dogs?
- 22:11We already have been. You know, leaders got to stop
- 22:17sitting around when there's emergencies on like this.
- 22:21She's saving the strength to the next round of penis shooting
- 22:25off. The bit where Lila goes, you
- 22:30know what, if you're going to clone me, I won't stick.
- 22:32Around and watch. Thank you.
- 22:33And save them the special effect of having two of them in the
- 22:36same room at once. That was quite nice.
- 22:38I like this cute little effect that I don't do it all the time,
- 22:41but he's still got a little bit of paper hanging out of his
- 22:43mouth canine. So he's a little tongue mag and
- 22:46he's hanging out with Leila. That's that's awesome.
- 22:48That's on their friends. Oh, that does look ghastly, That
- 22:53effect on his face, doesn't it? Look at that, yeah.
- 23:00I think they look more like fish scales and prawns to me though.
- 23:05So far. Definitely off the sea.
- 23:08Definitely not the sea. Very fishy, yeah.
- 23:15I was like the. Sea uniforms can't be practical.
- 23:19She must be so sweaty in that. Yeah.
- 23:24You mean I have to wear this green garbage bag the whole
- 23:26time? Yes.
- 23:27There is a very funny moment in episode 3 right where Professor
- 23:30Maris has been taken. Over as well and.
- 23:33She's inside that back bit where Leela is.
- 23:35And she tip toes out of the room in that fucking day.
- 23:38Glow green costume. Nobody notices.
- 23:43I'm going to notice this time. See, it's so funny because I
- 23:46think this is supposed to be really tense.
- 23:48Him on the screen going, you know, give up the doctor or
- 23:51we're going to. Come in there and kill all of
- 23:52you. But it's sort of hilarious,
- 23:54isn't it? I love it.
- 24:00Yeah, Michael, she's getting his best.
- 24:01And then the the accent. I mean, are we nearly the end of
- 24:10two? This is literally flying.
- 24:11Yeah, This is, this is flying. It's it's, Oh my goodness.
- 24:16Is this the clone doctor? I've lost count now, yeah.
- 24:19Because he's on, Yeah, he's on the He's got nothing on his
- 24:21face. By the way, the discontinuity
- 24:23guide points out that oh how nifty that the dimensional
- 24:26stabilizer just fits exactly into that that that wall there.
- 24:31Because it's dimensional. I like to think that that's the
- 24:34most one from the time Meddler that he stole so that he didn't
- 24:37need his TARDIS is still the same size because this is spare.
- 24:41If it was the missing adventure, that's exactly what it would be.
- 24:44That's right, but it man, it's a great idea, right?
- 24:48Shrinking them down and putting them inside.
- 24:49His head. That is such a wonderful idea.
- 24:52Well, they've just nicked it from Fantastic Voyage.
- 24:55Haven't. They fantastic voyage.
- 24:57Yeah, kind of surprised it took him this long to actually do
- 25:00this in the doctor's brain. I've.
- 25:01Never seen a fantastic voyage, is it any good?
- 25:05It's not as good as the invisible enemy, let's face it.
- 25:07No A. Few things are John, though.
- 25:09Let's be. Honest.
- 25:10Exactly. I can't remember if I've seen
- 25:12that or if I've seen inner space, because they're both the
- 25:14same thing, aren't they? Yeah, I've definitely seen inner
- 25:17space. They've got sort of a similar
- 25:19sort of budget, Fantastic Voyage and The Invisible Enemy.
- 25:22Yeah, yeah. No, I remember but.
- 25:25But you've had inflation in the years between so.
- 25:28I remember teenage me being very disappointed that clone Leela
- 25:32and and I don't care about clone Doctor being naked, but the
- 25:34clone Leela was clothes. What?
- 25:36They clone the clothes too, but you know, it is a tea time Poly
- 25:39show. They're not going to do that.
- 25:42Running around in Tom Baker. Brain nude Jesus Christ.
- 25:48Well. Who knows what goes on in Tom
- 25:50Bakers brain? I mean, to be fair, by the time
- 25:53we get to those beach ones in Planet of Fire, you know people
- 25:57are practically nude bar there. Don't.
- 25:59Know this is one of those ideas that's so good that the idea of
- 26:03taking a copy of the regulars and putting them in the
- 26:06dangerous situation that I liked in the big finish nightmare
- 26:09country. It's Stephen Gallagher's like,
- 26:11lost story, Tegan's in this, like a copy of Tegan's in this
- 26:15world. And like she's not allowed to
- 26:20get back out of it and the world's going to collapse or
- 26:22whatever. And it's just really.
- 26:24Kind of touched. Yeah, and it's a good like, and
- 26:28I see bits of that here. It's like this episode has so
- 26:32many ideas in it, make friggin whole stories out of it.
- 26:36If anybody makes any jokes about that pair being lost down a
- 26:39massive black hole or. Andrew, what were you going to
- 26:45say then? I was going.
- 26:45To say, I think that's a pretty good effect.
- 26:47I mean, I know it's CSO but it's pretty cool.
- 26:51You don't have it in a minute when they're dancing and this
- 26:54all bubbles are going. Everywhere.
- 26:56Oh, it's great. Just look at that glass of
- 26:59bubbly you got there. Imagine just diving straight
- 27:01into it. It'd be exactly the same.
- 27:06Oh. Wow, I think I like that more
- 27:08than episode 1 it's as well. You know.
- 27:11I mean, it's not canine. I'm.
- 27:12Biased there is canine but saying just how fast it moves
- 27:17that it just changes completely. I just think because so much of
- 27:2214 is that sort of brooding gothic horror to go sort of
- 27:26bright and entertaining and pacing like this, it feels
- 27:29really refreshing. Feels like a story they might
- 27:33have made in the previous couple of years, but Hinchcliffe would
- 27:37have made this as the same the same tone as Planet of Evil,
- 27:41right? You, you all know and your
- 27:44mileage is my very own. That story, but you.
- 27:47Wouldn't have had the pro with Hinchcliffe.
- 27:49It's it's in no one's top 10s, right.
- 27:51So. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:54So. Unbelievable.
- 27:55You haven't even seen the weird stuff at this story.
- 27:57Yeah, well, look, Luke, I'm sorry, but you're.
- 28:02Going to have to say the final words and you know what it is
- 28:04right? Contact has been made.
- 28:08Well, you should say and cut it there, but that'll do.
- 28:10Yeah.
