Interview with Ace Atkins, author of the Crime Fiction Novel THE SHAMELESS,
In Ace Atkins latest Quinn Colson novel, THE SHAMELESS, the Mississippi county sheriff is prodded into reopening an investigation of the death of a high school student from 20 years ago that was ruled a suicide. It’s the investigation of the death by two reporters from a true crime podcast based in New York that motivates his decision. Meanwhile as he continues to work at shutting down the criminal syndicate in his county, he clashes with local politicians determined to turn back the clock and reignite racial conflict.
