MAGA Influencers, Jeffrey Epstein, and the Price of Hubris (11/4/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

• 0:00
Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. There's something absolutely fucking beautiful about watching a
• 0:09
Speaker 1: bunch of arrogant, self-important political influencers discover that the world
• 0:14
Speaker 1: does not revolve around their Twitter accounts, their live streams,
• 0:18
Speaker 1: or whatever little circle jerk they've been participating in for
• 0:22
Speaker 1: the last several years. These are people who have spent
• 0:25
Speaker 1: an extraordinary amount of time telling the rest of us
• 0:28
Speaker 1: how stupid we are how little we understand, and how
• 0:31
Speaker 1: we should just shut our mouths and trust their supposedly
• 0:34
Speaker 1: superior political instincts. And now, now, the wheels have come
• 0:39
Speaker 1: flying off the clown car, the engines on fire, and
• 0:42
Speaker 1: the very people who assured us they knew exactly where
• 0:45
Speaker 1: they were going are standing on the side of the
• 0:47
Speaker 1: road pointing fingers at everybody who warned them not to
• 0:51
Speaker 1: drive off the fucking cliff. And I have to tell you,
• 0:54
Speaker 1: watching this particular collection of smug, condescending jackasses get acquainted
• 0:59
Speaker 1: with reality has been one of the more satisfying political
• 1:02
Speaker 1: spectacles I've witnessed in quite some time. Because these weren't
• 1:07
Speaker 1: people who simply got something wrong. Everybody gets something wrong.
• 1:11
Speaker 1: These were people who made an entire production out of
• 1:14
Speaker 1: being wrong, who wrapped their ignorance and arrogance, packaged their
• 1:17
Speaker 1: cowardice as loyalty, and then had the unmitigated fucking gall
• 1:22
Speaker 1: to lecture everybody else about what it means to stand
• 1:25
Speaker 1: on principle. They weren't interested in hearing competing arguments. They
• 1:29
Speaker 1: weren't interested in inconvenient facts, and they certainly weren't interested
• 1:34
Speaker 1: in listening to anybody who might actually know what the
• 1:36
Speaker 1: hell they were talking about. They had their marching orders,
• 1:39
Speaker 1: their comfortable little audience, and their precious access to the
• 1:43
Speaker 1: political establishment they spent years pretending to despise. And boy,
• 1:49
Speaker 1: did they think they had it all figured out. And
• 1:51
Speaker 1: the really entertaining part is what happens when these self-appointed
• 1:55
Speaker 1: intellectual heavyweights realize that their brilliant political instincts— were about
• 1:59
Speaker 1: as useful as a screen door on a motherfucking submarine. Suddenly,
• 2:03
Speaker 1: everybody else is responsible. Suddenly, there are a thousand explanations
• 2:08
Speaker 1: for why things went sideways. And every single one conveniently
• 2:12
Speaker 1: absolves the people who spent month after month pumping absolute
• 2:16
Speaker 1: horseshit into the public conversation. It's an impressive display of
• 2:21
Speaker 1: mental gymnastics from people who probably couldn't walk and chew
• 2:25
Speaker 1: gum without consulting their favorite political operative. but there's a
• 2:30
Speaker 1: reason I'm enjoying this particular meltdown more than most. And
• 2:34
Speaker 1: it has absolutely nothing to do with being surprised by
• 2:37
Speaker 1: the outcome. In fact, quite the opposite. When you watch
• 2:40
Speaker 1: somebody deliberately ignore every warning sign, laugh at the people
• 2:44
Speaker 1: trying to get their attention, and then confidently accelerate towards disaster,
• 2:49
Speaker 1: there's only so much sympathy you can muster when them
• 2:52
Speaker 1: bitches finally hit the wall. Especially when they're such insufferable
• 2:56
Speaker 1: assholes about it along the way. So today, we're going
• 2:59
Speaker 1: to spend some time talking about the internet's most obnoxious
• 3:02
Speaker 1: collection of political know-it-alls. The influence they thought they had,
• 3:06
Speaker 1: the intelligence they vastly overestimated, and the spectacular arrogance that
• 3:11
Speaker 1: brought them to this moment. Because for all their talk
• 3:15
Speaker 1: about strength, strategy, and understanding the American people, it turns
• 3:19
Speaker 1: out that having a microphone, a verified account, and a
• 3:22
Speaker 1: direct line to powerful people doesn't necessarily mean you know
• 3:26
Speaker 1: a goddamn thing. And as we're about to discuss, sometimes
• 3:30
Speaker 1: the people who spend the most time calling everybody else
• 3:33
Speaker 1: a sucker are the biggest fucking suckers of them all.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: The Republicans just got their asses handed to them in
• 3:41
Speaker 1: the midterm elections, losing control of both chambers of Congress
• 3:44
Speaker 1: and somehow the MAGA influencer class has decided that the
• 3:48
Speaker 1: real problem is everybody except the people who spent the
• 3:51
Speaker 1: last year telling Americans to shut the fuck up about
• 3:54
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. That's a hell of a trick. even for
• 3:58
Speaker 1: a crowd that has built an entire business model around
• 4:01
Speaker 1: insulting the intelligence of its own audience. The votes are in.
• 4:05
Speaker 1: The excuses are pouring out. And the same smug bastards
• 4:09
Speaker 1: who treated legitimate questions about the Epstein files like a
• 4:12
Speaker 1: personal betrayal are suddenly looking for somebody to blame. They're
• 4:16
Speaker 1: blaming the media. They're blaming Republican candidates. They're blaming people
• 4:20
Speaker 1: who stayed home. And some of them are probably one
• 4:23
Speaker 1: bad live stream away from blaming the fucking weather. Anybody
• 4:27
Speaker 1: but Trump. Anybody but themselves. Because admitting they helped create
• 4:31
Speaker 1: the mess would require something these people have spent years avoiding.
• 4:36
Speaker 1: An honest look in the mirror. They wanted the audience
• 4:39
Speaker 1: without the accountability, the influence without the responsibility, and the
• 4:44
Speaker 1: privileges of being political insiders while pretending to be brave outsiders.
• 4:49
Speaker 1: Now their favorite political machine has run headfirst into a wall,
• 4:53
Speaker 1: and they're standing in the wreckage yelling at the passengers.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: The part that makes this especially delicious is that nobody
• 5:00
Speaker 1: had to invent the warning signs because they were waving
• 5:03
Speaker 1: in these people's faces for well over a year. I
• 5:06
Speaker 1: was one of the people pointing at the warning signs
• 5:09
Speaker 1: and I certainly wasn't the only one. From the moment
• 5:12
Speaker 1: the administration started treating transparency like a nuisance, the political
• 5:16
Speaker 1: danger was obvious to anybody who wasn't financially or emotionally
• 5:20
Speaker 1: dependent on pretending otherwise. Epstein wasn't some obscure issue dragged
• 5:25
Speaker 1: out of nowhere by Democrats looking for a cheap attack line.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: For years, the very influencers, who eventually demanded silence, had
• 5:32
Speaker 1: trained their followers to believe the files were the key
• 5:35
Speaker 1: to exposing a corrupt elite. They sold that story with
• 5:39
Speaker 1: breathless videos, dramatic countdowns, and enough promises of eminent revelations
• 5:45
Speaker 1: to fill a damn warehouse. Then, Trump came back to power.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: His Justice Department began backpedaling. and suddenly those supposedly sacred
• 5:53
Speaker 1: demands for answers became inconvenient. Watching the transformation was like
• 5:59
Speaker 1: watching a televangelist discover the collection plate had been stolen
• 6:03
Speaker 1: by the pastor. There was no meaningful reckoning from the
• 6:06
Speaker 1: administration's most obedient defenders, no serious interrogation of the reversal,
• 6:12
Speaker 1: and certainly no rush to defend the people who had
• 6:14
Speaker 1: believed them. Instead, we got a parade of excuses, so
• 6:18
Speaker 1: flimsy they might as well have been written on wet
• 6:21
Speaker 1: toilet paper. And when those excuses failed, the influencers went
• 6:25
Speaker 1: after the people, asking the questions. And that was the
• 6:30
Speaker 1: moment that the entire racket exposed itself. Someone who had
• 6:34
Speaker 1: demanded the files in 2024 became a troublemaker for demanding
• 6:38
Speaker 1: those same files in 2025 and 2026. A voter could
• 6:44
Speaker 1: ask what happened to the promises, and some smug clown
• 6:46
Speaker 1: with a microphone would lecture them about loyalty. Survivors could
• 6:50
Speaker 1: demand transparency. and the conversation would somehow end with a
• 6:54
Speaker 1: discussion about how unfair everyone was being to Trump. An
• 6:59
Speaker 1: independent reporter could point to contradictions in the government's story,
• 7:03
Speaker 1: and the response was a cheap insult instead of a document.
• 7:07
Speaker 1: They weren't trying to answer the questions because answering them
• 7:10
Speaker 1: meant admitting the administration had a problem. They were trying
• 7:14
Speaker 1: to make the questions socially expensive inside their own political movement. Unfortunately,
• 7:19
Speaker 1: the people running the scam... Voters outside their little online
• 7:22
Speaker 1: clubhouse weren't obligated to play along. And that is what
• 7:27
Speaker 1: these geniuses never understood about political power. The audience in
• 7:31
Speaker 1: their comment section is not the electorate. A thousand people
• 7:35
Speaker 1: chanting the same slogan under a live stream can't erase
• 7:38
Speaker 1: the millions of Americans who remember what they were promised.
• 7:42
Speaker 1: You can ban a critic from your chat, but you
• 7:44
Speaker 1: can't ban that critic from the voting booth. You can
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: call a person a democrat, a plant, or a traitor.
• 7:50
Speaker 1: but you can't magically turn an unanswered question into an
• 7:53
Speaker 1: answered one. When the administration missed deadlines, changed explanations, and
• 7:58
Speaker 1: insisted that the public should be satisfied, the Influencer Brigade
• 8:03
Speaker 1: had an opportunity to prove that its principles were real. Instead,
• 8:06
Speaker 1: they treated basic accountability like an infection that had to
• 8:10
Speaker 1: be contained before it spread through the base. Every challenge
• 8:13
Speaker 1: was framed as sabotage. Every contradiction as fake news. And
• 8:18
Speaker 1: every demand for records as evidence that somebody must secretly
• 8:22
Speaker 1: hate Trump. What an incredibly stupid way to handle a
• 8:25
Speaker 1: controversy that began with your own promises. They didn't have
• 8:30
Speaker 1: to become Democrats, endorse anybody else, or abandon their politics
• 8:34
Speaker 1: to insist that the government tell the truth. They simply
• 8:37
Speaker 1: had to show a little backbone, which apparently wasn't included
• 8:41
Speaker 1: in the influencer sponsorship package. Of course, a backbone is
• 8:45
Speaker 1: difficult to maintain when your entire livelihood depends on staying
• 8:48
Speaker 1: in the good graces of one man. That's the ugly
• 8:52
Speaker 1: little business arrangement underneath all the patriotic branding and performative outrage.
• 8:58
Speaker 1: Keep the audience furious at everybody else. Keep the access flowing.
• 9:02
Speaker 1: And whatever you do, don't ask a question that might
• 9:05
Speaker 1: get you kicked out of the club. These personalities love
• 9:09
Speaker 1: to tell ordinary Americans they should be willing to sacrifice
• 9:12
Speaker 1: everything for their principles. Meanwhile, the prospect of losing an invitation,
• 9:18
Speaker 1: an interview, or a profitable audience segment seems to send
• 9:21
Speaker 1: them into a full-blown existential crisis. They'll demand courage from
• 9:26
  Speaker 1: a minimum-wage worker, a whistleblower, or a trafficking survivor, but
• 9:31
Speaker 1: ask them to challenge Trump's handling of Epstein, and suddenly
• 9:34
Speaker 1: caution becomes the highest form of wisdom. Apparently bravery is
• 9:38
Speaker 1: something other people are supposed to practice, while the internet's
• 9:42
Speaker 1: self-appointed revolutionaries protect their precious access. They think that they're
• 9:47
Speaker 1: a movement of independent thinkers, but really, it's a customer
• 9:50
Speaker 1: loyalty program with flags and microphones. The worst part isn't
• 9:55
Speaker 1: that they made a calculated bet on Trump, because people
• 9:58
Speaker 1: make political bets all the time. It's that they demanded
• 10:01
Speaker 1: everybody else surrender their judgment to protect that bet and
• 10:05
Speaker 1: then called them idiots when they refused. And of course,
• 10:08
Speaker 1: that arrogance had a consequence well beyond their own reputations.
• 10:12
Speaker 1: The Epstein issue was never the only reason voters had
• 10:15
Speaker 1: to be angry. There was cost-of-living complaints, the war with Iran,
• 10:19
Speaker 1: widespread disapproval of Trump's performance, and a growing distrust of
• 10:23
Speaker 1: the way Washington was operating. But the Epstein reversal handed
• 10:28
Speaker 1: critics a particularly devastating example of a promise that changed
• 10:32
Speaker 1: the moment, keeping it became politically uncomfortable. It cut directly
• 10:37
Speaker 1: against the outsider mythology these influencers spent years constructing. The
• 10:42
Speaker 1: same people who had thundered about secretive elites were now
• 10:45
Speaker 1: defending secrecy because their preferred elite occupied the White House.
• 10:50
Speaker 1: You don't need a political science degree to understand why
• 10:52
Speaker 1: that kind of hypocrisy might discuss a voter. You need
• 10:56
Speaker 1: only remember what it feels like to be treated as
• 10:59
Speaker 1: a sucker by somebody asking for your trust. Yet the
• 11:02
Speaker 1: influencers kept insisting that the problem was bad messaging, as
• 11:06
Speaker 1: though a prettier slogan could make the underlying contradiction disappear.
• 11:11
Speaker 1: And now that the electorate has delivered its verdict on
• 11:13
Speaker 1: the broader administration, The messaging experts are frantically searching for
• 11:18
Speaker 1: a new slogan to explain why none of this was
• 11:21
Speaker 1: their fault. Trump himself has already provided the perfect template
• 11:25
Speaker 1: by aiming his anger at Fox News after the losses. Naturally,
• 11:29
Speaker 1: that gives his loyal media servants an easy excuse to
• 11:32
Speaker 1: follow his lead rather than confront the man at the
• 11:35
Speaker 1: center of their political universe. Blame a network for showing polls.
• 11:40
Speaker 1: Blame analysts for noticing public dissatisfaction. and blame Republican candidates
• 11:45
Speaker 1: for failing to polish a deeply unpopular product. Whatever keeps
• 11:49
Speaker 1: the finger pointed away from the White House will do.
• 11:52
Speaker 1: And the irony is almost too rich considering how many
• 11:55
Speaker 1: of these people spent years mocking Democrats for refusing to
• 11:59
Speaker 1: criticize their own leaders. They branded themselves as fearless truth-tellers
• 12:04
Speaker 1: who couldn't be bullied by anybody. Then Trump told them
• 12:07
Speaker 1: to move along on Epstein, and a remarkable number discovered
• 12:10
Speaker 1: that the fastest route to political obedience was through their
• 12:14
Speaker 1: own mouths. If a Democratic administration had handled the files
• 12:19
Speaker 1: the same way, these influencers would have been screaming about
• 12:22
Speaker 1: obstruction between advertisements for survival rations, but changed the nameplate
• 12:28
Speaker 1: on the Oval Office door and suddenly were supposed to
• 12:30
Speaker 1: applaud their sophisticated appreciation for institutional discretion. It would be
• 12:36
Speaker 1: hilarious if the subject weren't the government's treatment of records
• 12:39
Speaker 1: connected to one of the most notorious sex trafficking scandals
• 12:43
Speaker 1: in modern American history. Which brings us to the wagon
• 12:46
Speaker 1: train these idiots so enthusiastically hitched themselves to. They saw
• 12:51
Speaker 1: Trump at the front of the convoy, convinced themselves he
• 12:54
Speaker 1: couldn't possibly lead them wrong, and ignored every person shouting
• 12:58
Speaker 1: that the trail ahead was turning into a swamp. The
• 13:02
Speaker 1: wheels started sinking. Supplies went missing, and the passengers began
• 13:06
Speaker 1: asking whether anybody had bothered to bring a map. Instead
• 13:10
Speaker 1: of addressing the problem, the influencers accuse the passengers of
• 13:14
Speaker 1: undermining the expedition. Now the wagon is buried up to
• 13:17
Speaker 1: its axles, the movement has political typhus, and these geniuses
• 13:22
Speaker 1: are still debating whether the real culprit was a disloyal ox.
• 13:27
Speaker 1: Somewhere along the Oregon Trail, common sense died of dysentery,
• 13:31
Speaker 1: and the last surviving brain cell was apparently hired as
• 13:34
Speaker 1: a campaign consultant. And the best part is the people
• 13:37
Speaker 1: that warned them weren't claiming to possess some mystical ability
• 13:41
Speaker 1: to predict the future. We were pointing out an elementary problem.
• 13:45
Speaker 1: You can't promise to expose corruption, refuse to answer questions
• 13:48
Speaker 1: about it, then expect everybody to applaud your integrity. They
• 13:53
Speaker 1: mistook their echo chamber for a country and their online
• 13:56
Speaker 1: applause for political immunity. When the country answered back, their
• 14:01
Speaker 1: carefully manufactured sense of invincibility collapsed faster than their excuses.
• 14:07
Speaker 1: And listen, I want to be clear about what kind
• 14:09
Speaker 1: of consequences I'm talking about. Because this doesn't end when
• 14:13
Speaker 1: the election night graphics come off the screen. Every video
• 14:18
Speaker 1: telling people to move on, every smug little lecture about loyalty,
• 14:21
Speaker 1: and every dishonest attempt to redefine transparency as a partisan
• 14:25
Speaker 1: attack is now part of their public record. Nobody has
• 14:30
Speaker 1: to fabricate their hypocrisy when they uploaded the evidence themselves.
• 14:34
Speaker 1: The internet's a wonderful place for people who confuse volume
• 14:38
Speaker 1: with credibility, right up until the archives become more persuasive
• 14:42
Speaker 1: than the latest excuse. Some of their followers will forgive them.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: Because celebrity worship has always been a hell of a drug,
• 14:52
Speaker 1: others will remember precisely how quickly these supposed watchdogs turned
• 14:56
Speaker 1: into guard dogs when the people they were supposed to
• 14:59
Speaker 1: watch began demanding obedience. And those are the people the
• 15:03
Speaker 1: influencer class should be worried about. Not because they're Democrats,
• 15:08
Speaker 1: but because they were once willing to believe the sales pitch.
• 15:11
Speaker 1: A movement can survive disagreements, but what it struggles to
• 15:14
Speaker 1: survive is the realization that its loudest defenders treat principles
• 15:19
Speaker 1: as disposable stage props. The social consequences won't necessarily come
• 15:24
Speaker 1: in one dramatic cancellation or a sudden collapse in viewership.
• 15:27
Speaker 1: They'll come in the much uglier form of people hearing
• 15:30
Speaker 1: the next grand promise And remembering the last time, they
• 15:34
Speaker 1: were told to shut up. So, spare me the tantrums
• 15:38
Speaker 1: about unfair coverage, disloyal voters, and the alleged stupidity of
• 15:41
Speaker 1: everybody who refused to swallow the administration's Epstein excuses. The
• 15:46
Speaker 1: warning was there. The opportunity to change course was there.
• 15:51
Speaker 1: And the chance to stand with people demanding answers was there.
• 15:55
Speaker 1: These influencers had every conceivable opportunity to tell Trump that
• 15:59
Speaker 1: his government handling of the files was unacceptable. They chose
• 16:03
Speaker 1: instead to mock the critics, protect the boss, and bet
• 16:05
Speaker 1: their credibility on the idea that their audience would never
• 16:08
Speaker 1: get tired of being treated like fools. Now the House
• 16:12
Speaker 1: is gone. Senate, gone. And all that smug certainty looks
• 16:15
Speaker 1: a little less impressive when it's surrounded by the rubble
• 16:19
Speaker 1: of a political defeat. I spent more than a year
• 16:22
Speaker 1: warning that this was a disaster waiting to happen. And
• 16:25
Speaker 1: their answer was more sneering, more deflection, and more soft-serve bullshit. Well, congratulations, fellas,
• 16:32
Speaker 1: because you finally got your disaster and there's not enough
• 16:35
Speaker 1: spin in Washington to turn this pile of shit into
• 16:38
Speaker 1: a victory parade. You tied your credibility to Trump, mocked
• 16:42
Speaker 1: everybody who told you the wheels were coming off, and
• 16:45
Speaker 1: now you're standing beside the broken wagon demanding to know
• 16:49
Speaker 1: who sabotaged the trip. Nobody sabotaged it, you arrogant bastards,
• 16:54
Speaker 1: because you drove it straight into the fucking mud yourselves.
