Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by jing Jack.com I'm Jordan Luda thanks so much for being here Wednesday May 6 right now we've got five potential breakout players for the Jaguars in 2026 the first three I feel strongly that they will break out honestly
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: The second two are more of like situationaly.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think if the right situation presents itself, that they could very well break out and they're not as big of names.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: So excited to get into it.

- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: You can all sit at the high button if I haven't mentioned it already.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: It helps out on YouTube a ton.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, get in it kicked off with Chris Rodriguez.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: And,
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know Chris Rodriguez did get paid by the Jaguar, so he didn't get paid a ton, but he did get paid But this is a player who's never a Clips 500 jobs in a season.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: He did hit 500 last year with six touchdowns So like he had a little bit of run last year, but
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think he could do a lot more in this Jacksonville Jaguar as offense.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think he could have even better efficiency and part of that's going to have to be the run blocking, right?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: The run blocking's got to be a little bit better and more physical than it was last year.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was good enough to be more consistent than the run game ended up being into a tality.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think part of that was based on some of the
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think Chris Rodriguez is going to get a ton of carries on early downs.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to get a ton of short yardage work, and I think he's going to get touchdowns.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: Think the Jaguars running game is going to be a big part of why things are so different.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so many fans were really upset about losing Travis C.T.N.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: and look, I wanted to keep C.T.N.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: too, because I really valued his well-rounded skill set.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: But from a rushing perspective, you had.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez and Baseltoot in both top five in the NFL last year in rushing efficiency.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: Travis CTN was in the 40s.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Chris Rodriguez is probably going to get the most carries of his career by a pretty wide margin.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'd be flirting with 200 potentially.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: Potentially.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: I know that's a lot, but it's not like a crazy amount.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: Talk about 17 games.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's 200 divided by 17.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: It is 11.7, I mean, I think he could easily break 200 carries, and if he does that, he could break a thousand yards and score ten touchdowns.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: this is the type of physical talented back in between the tackles I think you're talking about here.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think he's going to break out more than he has so far throughout his young career.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think Caleb Ransal is going to break out.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is going to want to utilize him.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: He was a third round pick last year.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't get to see him because of the injury, but when he was on the field during practice,
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: And when you combine their evaluation of him, they felt he was a third-round pick.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: My evaluation of him, when I looked at him, he did everything well, elite athlete.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then he goes to the senior bowl and play safety and does a really good job after playing outside corner in the nickel corner in college.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's going to break out.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's going to be on the field a lot for them as the season progresses.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: You obviously do have Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray, but they're going to be wanting to get this guy ready.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like Antonio Johnson, I didn't know how they were going to play that out.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: He still don't.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to the final year of his work of deal.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: But after drafting, Jalen Husky,
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: The year after you drafted Caleb Branson, I'm kind of thinking and railing lane, by the way, that the Jaguars Antonio Johnson run might be ending in 2026.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean they're gonna wanna get him off the field.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: if he's playing well.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think they're going to want to have Caleb Ransal in the field.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they're going to have a lot of three safety sets.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: You saw three safety's on the field a good amount for them last year.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think you'll see that again this year.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Caleb Ransal's skill set is just more multiple than the rest of the guys.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: So Caleb Ransal, I think is going to break out for the Jaguar as makes in big place for them at the safety spot.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: The last one that I think is like definitely a breakout, which I think he already broke out during his rookie year, Travis Hunter, like he was a star corner during his rookie season already.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: Top 10, there's not 10 guys I would have wanted on the field at the corner back position over Travis Hunter, like day one last year.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: And certainly by the time he was unfortunately got injured,
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's just no denying his talent, his work ethic, his ability on the field.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think why do seever there was a little bit more nuance to develop at that corner.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he will play more corner than why do seever this year.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how much more.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's going to be a significant amount.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think at corner, he is going to break out.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be able to hopefully not get the injury bug again.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then you just play more football.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: You play more football.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to break out if you're traveling 100 because you're just too good not to.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I again, think he already broke out during his time on the field as a corner last year.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: You also had a breakout performing against the Rams as a receiver and several big moments as a receiver throughout the rookie year.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's going to be, because a lot of folks have climbed the Jag wars for not only their 2026 draft, but also for trading up for Travis Hunter in 2025.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's going to look idiotic.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think Travis Hunter's going to silence a lot of the critics.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: I really believe in that talent.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then the last two guys were a couple.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: There were rookies last year, and I really could have made a longer list here.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: One, one that I think, if he hits the field, I think he's going to play really well.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Branson Combs, the linebacker.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Played a wake for us to end his collegiate career.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: This guy, I didn't know how excited the Jack Wars were about him as an undrafted free agent, but we've heard a lot about it this offseason.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: They really like Branson Combs.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: What I can tell you is if you're paying attention to our training camp recap videos last year, Branson Combs was popping consistently and you go back and you look as testing, you look at his college production, you know, moved up from, I believe it was Southeastern Illinois or Southern Illinois, up to Wake Forest's final year, Jaguar's Love When Guys are able to upgrade that level of competition and still play well.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a good player.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's smoke, but there is a roadblock to him getting on the field.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's Ventral Miller, who is also a good player.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: So he would have to at least, at least beat out Ventral or have an injury.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: So like, I don't know.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: If he's going to be able to get on that field
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: If he does, I think he's going to play well.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think they really like him.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Everything I saw from him on the practice field last year was impressive.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: His testing is good.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: His college production was good.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's exciting to think about, you know, everybody's like the Jaguars.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: They might need a veteran linebacker.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they might just feel damn good about haven't been trial in Branson Colms.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: And the final one I put here was Wyatt Milem.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: I did this because I've talked a lot about a manual of pregnant and his potential to start in year one.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: I might have put the cart before the horse there, who knows?
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: I do think he's just got that.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Undeniable physical talent that gets you excited and that's why I probably got excited about it.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Wyatt Milem, if
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick McCary is struggling to say healthy or he's not playing his consistent as the Jaguars want.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably next man up.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Probably.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's not exactly sure.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Walker little still in the building, too.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I think if Wyatt Milem gets on the field and plays guard for the Jaguars, he's going to impress.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: He impressed the Raleigh's collegiate career at Wright Tackle.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: He impressed me and limited action last year.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was going up against Jeffrey Simmons.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he did an admirable job in that regard.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: So why at Mylim is a player who I believe in.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited about seeing.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of young guys on this roster that I feel that way about, but I think why at Mylim if he gets the opportunity to get on the field, he's gonna make the most of it.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: he's gonna earn that starting job moving forward.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll do it here.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Five players that could break out, three of them that I think absolutely will, two of them that I think.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Could, and yeah, getting ready for rookie mini camp I'm unfortunately not gonna be there this weekend, mom's birthday and mother's day, same weekend.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not gonna be there on Saturday, but we will have a kind of a preview talking about what you should be looking for.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: or looking to hear, fans won't be able to attend unfortunately, but just another step towards training camp and then that's the biggest step towards the actual season.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: So we're getting there folks.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit the high button, y'all have a good one.
