- 0:07Speaker 1: partnership with iHeartRadio.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, let's do it.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Welcome to the NFL Power Ranking Show, Week fourteen edition.
- 0:20Speaker 3: We are presented to you by Energizer.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Thanks for being here, everybody. On one side of the screen.
- 0:25Speaker 3: The man who puts these rankings together, the engine without
- 0:30Speaker 3: which this car could not drive. In Chicago, Eric Aedholm,
- 0:35Speaker 3: how are you, sir, Great to see you.
- 0:38Speaker 4: I'm doing well. We're a month from the playoffs.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Got the uh, you know, the Christmas Ravens forty nine
- 0:44Speaker 5: Ers game to look forward to. There's so much in
- 0:45Speaker 5: front of the in front of us.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Andrew looking for Christmas? Man?
- 0:48Speaker 3: I mean, seriously, you're you're that guy. You're that guy
- 0:52Speaker 3: that starts doing your Christmas shopping like right after a
- 0:55Speaker 3: labor day?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Are you that guy?
- 0:57Speaker 4: I haven't started yet? Is that bad?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Okay? Neither I have neither.
- 1:00Speaker 3: By the way, my name is andrewsus and Leatoom in
- 1:02Speaker 3: our studios here in Los Angeles.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Welcome to this member football.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I'll do my shopping during those December twenty fourth games.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Okay, yep, Well we'll plan ahead as always.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Scan everything on your screen right there at the QR
- 1:15Speaker 3: code go to NFL dot com.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Let's get the rankings out of the way.
- 1:19Speaker 3: The San Francisco forty nine Ers, who went into Philadelphia
- 1:23Speaker 3: and pushed the Eagles around, are the new number one.
- 1:26Speaker 3: We thought that would happen. We knew that would happen.
- 1:28Speaker 3: It did happen, followed by the Ravens and then the Eagles,
- 1:32Speaker 3: and then their opponent this week, the Cowboys, and then
- 1:34Speaker 3: the Dolphins who scrimmaged the Commanders, and then the Chiefs,
- 1:38Speaker 3: the Lions, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. But let's make right
- 1:43Speaker 3: out of the gate our team of the Week, presented
- 1:47Speaker 3: by Truist, the San Francisco forty nine Ers. Eric we
- 1:50Speaker 3: said last week that the winner of that game in
- 1:52Speaker 3: Philadelphia would be the new number one team. So you're
- 1:56Speaker 3: a man of your word. They are the number one team.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Not surprising. I guess the question here is how much
- 2:01Speaker 3: better are the forty nine ers then everybody? It's the
- 2:05Speaker 3: Niners and the field. How big is the gap?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:09Speaker 4: I think that's the way you have to frame it.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Obviously, some people are still going to refer back to
- 2:13Speaker 5: that three game losing streak, but look at the body
- 2:15Speaker 5: of work. First of all, they could have won two
- 2:17Speaker 5: of those games. And you know what brock Purty has done.
- 2:20Speaker 5: By the way, we're now entering the one year anniversary
- 2:23Speaker 5: of brock Purty taken over. It feels like it's been
- 2:25Speaker 5: about three years since he had the elbows surgery even
- 2:28Speaker 5: but you know, averaging almost ten yards per tempt, full
- 2:32Speaker 5: healthy offense in place right now. You know Trent Williams
- 2:36Speaker 5: leading the O line obviously, Deebo Samuels and Samuel what
- 2:40Speaker 5: he can do, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Brandon Ayuk. It's
- 2:43Speaker 5: impossible to stop these guys when they're at full strength,
- 2:46Speaker 5: I believe. And defensively they're getting after it too. And
- 2:50Speaker 5: this was as big as statement victory as we've seen
- 2:52Speaker 5: this year. So right now, having just beaten Eagles in
- 2:55Speaker 5: their house, I don't care how many tough games they
- 2:57Speaker 5: play lately. They put themselves a measurable distance ahead of
- 3:01Speaker 5: the field.
- 3:01Speaker 3: At this point, you mentioned that one year anniversary, pretty
- 3:05Speaker 3: making his debut. His passer rating in that one year
- 3:07Speaker 3: one fourteen, which is the best in football, And honestly,
- 3:12Speaker 3: I was kind of sick of the forty nine ers
- 3:15Speaker 3: griping and all this. We changed the quarterback rules and
- 3:18Speaker 3: the offseason because the Niners mismanaged their roster last year,
- 3:22Speaker 3: just full stop, right, That's why they didn't have quarterback
- 3:24Speaker 3: in that NFC championship game. But they shut everyone up.
- 3:27Speaker 3: To their credit, they went in there and shut every one,
- 3:31Speaker 3: including the Eagles security director up. And they are the
- 3:36Speaker 3: best team. I mean, I think if you take the
- 3:38Speaker 3: rest of the NFC, whether it's the Eagles or the
- 3:41Speaker 3: Cowboys or the Lions or whomever, they are simply in
- 3:45Speaker 3: a different class.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Yep.
- 3:47Speaker 5: I mean you're talking about a team that scored forty
- 3:49Speaker 5: two against Philly and Dallas and had five games on
- 3:53Speaker 5: the road with thirty plus points.
- 3:54Speaker 4: That's a good opening statement right there.
- 3:57Speaker 3: And you know, I'm a Browns fan. But if Jake
- 3:58Speaker 3: Moody hits that field goal, it's different. Literally, he missed it.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Cleveland deserved to win that game. But there's so many
- 4:04Speaker 3: what ifs during the season, that certainly is one of them.
- 4:07Speaker 3: We're gonna skip over the Ravens. We'll get back to them,
- 4:09Speaker 3: don't be mad, Baltimore. And we're gonna get to the
- 4:11Speaker 3: Cowboys because this week it's the Eagles. And the Cowboys,
- 4:15Speaker 3: this time in Dallas. The Cowboys come in well rested, obviously,
- 4:22Speaker 3: but they had a close call against the Seahawks.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You're still sitting there at number three.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I still believe in this team's ability
- 4:33Speaker 5: to put up points. Stack Prescott is in the middle
- 4:35Speaker 5: of an MVP campaign, I think, or at least, you know,
- 4:38Speaker 5: to be one of the candidates for that award. Party
- 4:40Speaker 5: certainly has to be in the mix as well. But
- 4:42Speaker 5: you know, win over Eagle over the Eagles would go
- 4:45Speaker 5: a long way towards helping Dak. Their offense isn't the
- 4:48Speaker 5: issue right now, wasn't the issue the other night. Obviously,
- 4:50Speaker 5: they came back and looks kind of comfortable doing it.
- 4:53Speaker 5: But dron Bland after a tremendous season getting picked on
- 4:57Speaker 5: mercilessly in that game, even with a pick. You have
- 4:59Speaker 5: to say he had a rough night, and some of
- 5:02Speaker 5: that second level of the Cowboys defense hasn't exactly tightened
- 5:06Speaker 5: up around him at times. So you know, they didn't
- 5:09Speaker 5: get anything from Mike until late. It required a lot
- 5:12Speaker 5: of effort defensively, and look, I mean, this is a
- 5:15Speaker 5: team that we were talking about being a great defensive club.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Both they and Philly I think come into this game
- 5:20Speaker 5: with defensive questions, no doubt about it.
- 5:22Speaker 3: At this point. Yeah, considering the Eagles defensive issues, I
- 5:25Speaker 3: think I would lean Dallas in this game and the
- 5:28Speaker 3: rematch they could have would have won it in Philadelphia.
- 5:31Speaker 3: They blew the late game management stunning of course down
- 5:34Speaker 3: the stretch in Philadelphia. But I still think the Cowboys
- 5:37Speaker 3: are a bit here of the the NFCS Miami Dolphins.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Show me a good win, show me consistent good wins.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I haven't seen it yet. This would be that good
- 5:46Speaker 3: win for them, and maybe they get it. All right,
- 5:50Speaker 3: Let's get back to the Ravens. What a week they had.
- 5:53Speaker 3: They got to sit at home, get healthy and watch
- 5:56Speaker 3: the Chiefs, the Browns, the Steelers, and the Jaguars all lose.
- 6:03Speaker 3: This one, though, is not easy. They get the upstart
- 6:06Speaker 3: Rams this week. You have the Ravens as the best
- 6:08Speaker 3: team in the AFC.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I do yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 5: I mean again, you could certainly sort of poke some
- 6:14Speaker 5: holes in some you know, two close home losses to
- 6:16Speaker 5: teams they probably should have beaten. Let some other teams
- 6:18Speaker 5: hang around, like Pittsburgh and the Chargers and whatnot. But
- 6:22Speaker 5: this is a pretty complete team right now. You and
- 6:25Speaker 5: you made a great point right sitting at home watching
- 6:27Speaker 5: this scenario one fol where it's it's gotten easier there
- 6:30Speaker 5: for them to win the AFC North, it's gotten better
- 6:33Speaker 5: for them to cruise to that number one draft or
- 6:35Speaker 5: that number one.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Slot in the AFC playoffs.
- 6:38Speaker 5: So great set up late season by get your guys rested.
- 6:42Speaker 5: Doesn't sound like they'll make any movements on the receiver
- 6:44Speaker 5: tight end front. They like their guys, but they're asking,
- 6:47Speaker 5: you know, more out of Zay Flowers and Obj and
- 6:51Speaker 5: guys like that right now. So I'll be curious to
- 6:53Speaker 5: see if that offense can still kind of hum the
- 6:56Speaker 5: way we had seen it with Andrews at times. But
- 6:58Speaker 5: you're right, this is a tough game. Teams aren't that
- 7:00Speaker 5: familiar with each other. Rams come in hot. You know
- 7:03Speaker 5: their offense is done work lately too, So you know, again,
- 7:06Speaker 5: is this fall into the category of a Colts or
- 7:10Speaker 5: Cleveland type of game or is this more of the
- 7:12Speaker 5: Detroit Lions or Seattle type game where they dominate a
- 7:16Speaker 5: very good Uppunnert at home.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I was at the game in La this past Sunday.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Rams look good. Rams can run the football now, Kyron
- 7:22Speaker 3: Williams makes that much of a difference in the Rams
- 7:25Speaker 3: o line is playing fantastic.
- 7:27Speaker 2: We'll get to the Rams coming up at a second.
- 7:29Speaker 3: But the Ravens schedule, you get the Rams, the Jaguars,
- 7:32Speaker 3: the Niners, that's a Christmas Day game or night game,
- 7:36Speaker 3: and then Miami. It is a tough stretch here for
- 7:39Speaker 3: the Ravens to close it out, A much needed list
- 7:43Speaker 3: of teams losing for them when they sat at home
- 7:46Speaker 3: week thirteen. All Right, the Dolphins one week, it's Jalen Phillips,
- 7:51Speaker 3: Now it's Jerome Baker. They've got a lot of injuries.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Jalen Ramsey can't cover up all those defensive injuries.
- 8:00Speaker 2: But again, it's.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Another week in which they beat up on a team
- 8:04Speaker 3: they're supposed to beat up.
- 8:06Speaker 2: In this case it's the Commanders.
- 8:07Speaker 3: You still think they're the fifth best team in the NFL.
- 8:12Speaker 5: I think they have the fifth best resume, even with
- 8:14Speaker 5: that obvious hole that you mentioned with Dallas. Right, show
- 8:17Speaker 5: me the money, show me a good win, and that's
- 8:19Speaker 5: ultimately the question with the Miami Dolphins. Now they'll get
- 8:22Speaker 5: their chance late, right, They've got Dallas and Baltimore to
- 8:25Speaker 5: close out the season. But We're gonna have to be
- 8:27Speaker 5: patient here and take a couple of home games against
- 8:30Speaker 5: teams that have kind of fallen out of the race,
- 8:32Speaker 5: and the Titans and Jets. So you know, again it's
- 8:35Speaker 5: they keep winning games against lesser opponents.
- 8:38Speaker 4: It's a tough team to rank.
- 8:39Speaker 5: But Devin ah Chan coming back and having a big
- 8:42Speaker 5: second half and it was a good sign. Didn't look
- 8:44Speaker 5: like he was on a pitch count Andrews. So you know,
- 8:46Speaker 5: if they really have that run game at full strength
- 8:48Speaker 5: and depends on the offensive line, Armstead and other guys
- 8:52Speaker 5: getting hurt up front Sunday, that to me could separate
- 8:56Speaker 5: them and that could really justify that that high ranking
- 8:59Speaker 5: because when they run the ball well, they seem to
- 9:01Speaker 5: be a very dangerous team and give opponents, whether they're
- 9:04Speaker 5: or not, the most trouble.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I think.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah, And after Tennessee and the Jets, they do get
- 9:10Speaker 3: the Cowboys and then the Ravens, so they do go
- 9:14Speaker 3: up in wait class and again the Bills Week eighteen.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Who knows what that game is going to mean for
- 9:19Speaker 3: Buffalo or for the Dolphins. Maybe they have a shot
- 9:21Speaker 3: at number one. Maybe, Yeah, they still are sitting at
- 9:24Speaker 3: number one right now. That game is going to mean
- 9:28Speaker 3: something here, and it's going to be a good test
- 9:31Speaker 3: for them in those final three games of the regular
- 9:33Speaker 3: season to show that they can beat good teams before
- 9:37Speaker 3: they get to.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The postseason, before they get to January.
- 9:40Speaker 3: The Chiefs went to Lambeau and I kind of sort
- 9:43Speaker 3: of called it this week. I can't take credit I
- 9:45Speaker 3: foreshadowed it.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I wasn't.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I didn't have the guts to say that the Packers
- 9:49Speaker 3: would beat the Chiefs, but they ran into trouble there
- 9:52Speaker 3: and Kansas City is now down to eric They are
- 9:55Speaker 3: your sixth team in your power rankings.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Yeah, and had Jacksonville one Monday night, right, had they
- 10:02Speaker 5: not had a spate of injuries, maybe they would have
- 10:05Speaker 5: jumped ahead of them.
- 10:06Speaker 4: So yeah, I mean, it's a situation where we're used.
- 10:09Speaker 5: To the Chiefs playing their best football late in the season,
- 10:12Speaker 5: kind of streaking into the postseason, having that offense carry
- 10:16Speaker 5: the weight, and we've gotten used to the idea of
- 10:18Speaker 5: the defense being kind of their bedrock now and giving
- 10:21Speaker 5: them that level of insurance, if you will. But that's
- 10:24Speaker 5: two straight games now where the defense has put them
- 10:26Speaker 5: in a two score deficit, right, that puts even more
- 10:29Speaker 5: pressure on Patrick Mahomes to be perfect, and Andrew, I
- 10:32Speaker 5: don't know about you, but watching at home, there were
- 10:35Speaker 5: some funny looking passes that came out. Now, credit the
- 10:38Speaker 5: packers for pressuring them and covering those receivers and tightening
- 10:42Speaker 5: those windows and everything, but oh, it doesn't look pretty.
- 10:46Speaker 5: And you're used to ugly plays.
- 10:47Speaker 4: By Mahomes every now and then.
- 10:49Speaker 5: Right doesn't always look right, but more and more it's
- 10:51Speaker 5: becoming the norm, and it's just surprising to see them
- 10:54Speaker 5: not be able to push the ball down the field
- 10:56Speaker 5: more readily.
- 10:57Speaker 3: And listen, I know Chiefs fans want to get upset
- 10:59Speaker 3: about the lack of past interference. Absolutely, yep, one mbs. Certainly.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I don't think there should have been one on the
- 11:08Speaker 3: play in the end zone at the end, I mean
- 11:10Speaker 3: that wasn't yet.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Was it a push in the back, of course?
- 11:13Speaker 3: Was it even close to some of the hail mary
- 11:16Speaker 3: penalties we should have seen thrown in other games?
- 11:19Speaker 2: No, not at all.
- 11:20Speaker 3: But as you point out in your story here, Travis
- 11:23Speaker 3: Kelcey was the only guy to catch a pass of
- 11:25Speaker 3: longer than sixteen yards, and they do not still, even
- 11:28Speaker 3: though she Rice has made some plays this year, have
- 11:31Speaker 3: enough consistency other than Travis Kelcey. They are still the
- 11:38Speaker 3: three seed in the AFC. Because let's get to the Jaguars.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Jacksonville lost and they also lost their quarterback. If Jacksonville
- 11:46Speaker 3: had pulled out the victory as all expected on Monday
- 11:49Speaker 3: against Jake Browning and the Bengals, we would be sitting
- 11:52Speaker 3: here today with the Jaguars as the one seed eric
- 11:55Speaker 3: in the AFC. And even though it looks as if
- 11:57Speaker 3: they've escaped the worst case scenario, it is merely a
- 12:01Speaker 3: high ankle sprain. Doug Peterson says, I mean that could
- 12:04Speaker 3: be a couple of weeks. Jacksonville is number eight in
- 12:09Speaker 3: your rankings and now number four in the AFC.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Yeah, suddenly a team that we have some major doubts about.
- 12:15Speaker 5: And obviously the injury situation with Kirk and the core muscle,
- 12:18Speaker 5: as you pointed out also Lawrence, do you know, gives us.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Some major doubt about them.
- 12:22Speaker 5: But even before Trevor Lawrence got hurt, this defense was
- 12:26Speaker 5: getting worked over, I think, too reliant on taking the
- 12:29Speaker 5: football away from teams, and the only turnover they got
- 12:31Speaker 5: Monday night was that gift of.
- 12:34Speaker 4: An interception by Tyler Boyd.
- 12:35Speaker 5: So you know, look, I mean, they've got to find
- 12:38Speaker 5: some solutions on that side of the ball. They've got
- 12:40Speaker 5: to find another playmaker to step up for CJ.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Bethard.
- 12:43Speaker 5: You would assume who had a pretty nice overtime. He looks,
- 12:46Speaker 5: he looked, had some moments out there, had the one
- 12:48Speaker 5: big play call back by a holding call that was
- 12:51Speaker 5: really devastating. But you know, two and four at home,
- 12:55Speaker 5: they're terrific outside of Jacksonville. No arguments there, but all
- 12:59Speaker 5: of a sudden, a lot of questions for a team,
- 13:01Speaker 5: as you pointed out, that could have been in that
- 13:03Speaker 5: number one slot had the injuries not happened, had the
- 13:06Speaker 5: wing gone the other way.
- 13:08Speaker 2: It's crazy too and four at home.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Doug Peterson actually cited home crowd noise as an issue
- 13:14Speaker 3: where defensive communication issues. He didn't say there were issues,
- 13:18Speaker 3: but then he got defensive instead of the crowd was loud,
- 13:21Speaker 3: making noise as good fans to try to disrupt Jake
- 13:24Speaker 3: Browning and the Bengals. They are six and zero away
- 13:27Speaker 3: from their own building. Maybe they should be a wild
- 13:30Speaker 3: card team. Maybe maybe there's a silver lining there are
- 13:34Speaker 3: the Packers making the playoffs. Everybody funny how the pendulum
- 13:38Speaker 3: swings the other way. Now for everyone that thought Jordan
- 13:40Speaker 3: Love didn't have it. That's coming up next on the
- 13:42Speaker 3: NFL Power Ranking Show presented by Energizer. But wait, there's
- 13:55Speaker 3: more on the NFL Power Ranking Show presented by Energizer.
- 13:58Speaker 3: The Houston Texans and it's just a wild game there
- 14:01Speaker 3: go up to it's a number with yet another victory.
- 14:06Speaker 3: The Cleveland Browns are ten with Joe Flacco not moving.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Steelers have a quarterback injury. They are down two to eleven.
- 14:12Speaker 3: The Bills, the Colts, the Packers, the Seahawks, and the
- 14:17Speaker 3: Denver Broncos are sitting there at sixteen.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Let's talk about the Houston Texans. Eric at home.
- 14:24Speaker 3: They lose Tank Dell, which is a big deal, but
- 14:30Speaker 3: they are still looking good even as the third team
- 14:32Speaker 3: of the AFC South. If I had told you that
- 14:34Speaker 3: the third team of the AFC South would be number
- 14:38Speaker 3: nine on your power rankings heading into week fourteen, you
- 14:41Speaker 3: would have said.
- 14:41Speaker 5: What, Yeah, I couldn't have imagined it, right, And the
- 14:45Speaker 5: Tennessee Titans weren't one of those those teams, right.
- 14:48Speaker 4: I mean, obviously we've seen.
- 14:49Speaker 5: The Colts kind of get off to a good start,
- 14:52Speaker 5: struggle get back into it. You know, we've seen the
- 14:54Speaker 5: Texans have a wild roller coaster ride this year and
- 14:57Speaker 5: it's going to continue. With the Dell injury, I'm sorry,
- 14:59Speaker 5: that's a massive blow. As you pointed out, Ka Collins
- 15:02Speaker 5: has stuffed up though that's good.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I think they need.
- 15:05Speaker 5: More on Adulton schultzide of Noah Brown, John Metchi, the third,
- 15:08Speaker 5: whoever else. Somebody has to give CJ. Straud a weapon.
- 15:11Speaker 5: But I'm impressed with him obviously, and also with the
- 15:14Speaker 5: defense that made three huge interceptions the last, you know,
- 15:18Speaker 5: sixteen minutes of the game.
- 15:19Speaker 4: So they've got a formula.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Losing last week at home that Jacksonville was tough, but
- 15:24Speaker 5: Jacksonville now opens the doorback up with the.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Lost Monday night.
- 15:27Speaker 5: So you know, the divisions in play, and there's are
- 15:30Speaker 5: all of a sudden, a lot of hope hitting into
- 15:31Speaker 5: this game.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I mean, here's how bonkers and here's how tightly packed
- 15:35Speaker 3: everything is in both conferences, but especially here in the AFC.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Right now, the Texans don't have a playoff spot. If
- 15:41Speaker 3: the playoffs weren't to start today, they're right, they're the
- 15:43Speaker 3: eight seed. You have them as the number nine overall
- 15:46Speaker 3: team in football.
- 15:49Speaker 4: It's America's team, baby.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I mean everyone loves them, right, I think that, Yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 5: they scare the heck out of people. They can go
- 15:55Speaker 5: on the road and win games. They can beat Joe Burrow,
- 15:57Speaker 5: they can have those type by afternoons. They've also lost
- 16:00Speaker 5: to the Panthers, though they've had some losses that they've
- 16:03Speaker 5: let kind of slip to their fingers. So what we
- 16:05Speaker 5: know is that almost every game comes down to a
- 16:08Speaker 5: THRILLI and finish with them, and that alone makes them
- 16:11Speaker 5: a pretty interesting club.
- 16:12Speaker 2: All right, Browns ten. They get the Browns in a
- 16:14Speaker 2: couple of weeks as well.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Steelers Bills into the Colts at thirteen Texans and the
- 16:18Speaker 3: Colts in Indianapolis week eighteen likely means something. You know
- 16:23Speaker 3: that the Colts are tied for the longest active winning
- 16:27Speaker 3: streak right now in the NFL with.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Four right, yeah, three teams with four wins. They're one
- 16:32Speaker 5: of them, baby. I mean, I thought they were completely
- 16:34Speaker 5: out of it at what three and five, I want
- 16:36Speaker 5: to say, And you know, it just looked like things
- 16:38Speaker 5: weren't working out with Gardner Minshew, but to his credit,
- 16:41Speaker 5: made a lot of place Sunday when the run game
- 16:44Speaker 5: was at work and Jonathan Taylor was out. Michael Pittman
- 16:47Speaker 5: keeps adding dollar signs to his name in the offseason.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Alec Pierce stepped up with probably his best game of
- 16:52Speaker 5: the year, had a big catch there at the end,
- 16:54Speaker 5: had four big ones in the game. So, yeah, you're right,
- 16:57Speaker 5: they find ways, And I think special teams was a
- 16:59Speaker 5: huge reason why you had the Titans not had a
- 17:01Speaker 5: reason to fire their special teams coordinated to the next
- 17:04Speaker 5: day after the game. Maybe the Colts don't win this
- 17:07Speaker 5: game and we might have more questions about their candidacy
- 17:09Speaker 5: as a playoff team. But again, Shane Steichen has done
- 17:13Speaker 5: a pretty masterful job handling all the twists and turns
- 17:16Speaker 5: that have been thrown at him.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Absolutely, he's in the running for coach of the Year.
- 17:19Speaker 3: They are in Cincinnati this week for a fun and
- 17:22Speaker 3: now very relevant game against Jake Browning and the Cincinnati Bengals. Yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 3: time to make some power moves at home. They're presented
- 17:34Speaker 3: by Energizer. The Green Bay Packers are the biggest movers
- 17:38Speaker 3: of the week. They are up fourteen after.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Beating the Chiefs. Where were they a couple of weeks ago?
- 17:45Speaker 3: Week eleven, Eric they were twenty sixth.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I mean it feels like they've gone up
- 17:51Speaker 5: fourteen spots in the last two weeks.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Right, it's pretty amazing.
- 17:54Speaker 5: But you got to put a lot of it on
- 17:56Speaker 5: Jordan Love, the guy who Brian Gudakutz the GM. When
- 17:59Speaker 5: he had his little mid season press conference, they said,
- 18:02Speaker 5: these games down the stretch are pretty big, and you
- 18:04Speaker 5: had people in Green Bay assuming that was.
- 18:06Speaker 4: A shot across his bow. Well, Love has answered it, right.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Protection has been pretty good without David Baktiar. They haven't
- 18:13Speaker 5: had Aaron Jones the last couple of games. Christian Watson,
- 18:16Speaker 5: the relationship with him in Love on the field look
- 18:19Speaker 5: non existent for eight or nine weeks. Now, all of
- 18:21Speaker 5: a sudden, that is cooking the other young receivers, you know,
- 18:25Speaker 5: the tight ends have stepped up. So it's been tremendous
- 18:28Speaker 5: to watch and exciting certainly for Packers fans.
- 18:30Speaker 4: But yeah, there were a lot of people who thought Loved.
- 18:33Speaker 5: During that interception streak he had and all the mispasses
- 18:36Speaker 5: and the missed opportunities, maybe it.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Was going to be a one year guy.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Now I think these most recent games have shown us
- 18:42Speaker 5: that he can get him in the postseason this year.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and kind of cast the forward going forward.
- 18:46Speaker 3: And listen, I'm not yet ready to crown him. But
- 18:49Speaker 3: he did play well. He has been playing well, and
- 18:52Speaker 3: it's another example of how patience is needed when judging
- 18:57Speaker 3: any quarterbacks development, even one that waited three years on
- 19:01Speaker 3: the bench. You know, the pendulum back and forth. September,
- 19:05Speaker 3: Oh my god, Jordan Love is the truth. The Packers
- 19:07Speaker 3: nailed it. And then mid season, wow, all right, they
- 19:09Speaker 3: got to move on. And now look, maybe he gets
- 19:12Speaker 3: them into the postseason. This week he battles Tommy da Vito,
- 19:17Speaker 3: and the New York Giant says DeVito is going to
- 19:19Speaker 3: get another start that game in Jersey. We have the
- 19:23Speaker 3: Seahawks at fifteen. Are the Seahawks in trouble at home?
- 19:27Speaker 3: You dropped them only one, but they gotta go the Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Cisco this week.
- 19:32Speaker 5: Gave him credit for a good effort at Dallas, and
- 19:35Speaker 5: Gino looked a lot healthier. But I think every game at.
- 19:38Speaker 4: This point feels pretty existential.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 19:40Speaker 5: They went into the by early in the season, everybody thought, wow,
- 19:43Speaker 5: this is a really interesting team all of a sudden,
- 19:45Speaker 5: and they just haven't found that offensive consistency. But I
- 19:49Speaker 5: give him a little hope in the rematch against San Francisco.
- 19:51Speaker 5: I remember they blasted him on Thanksgiving because Gino did.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Look a lot healthier, a lot better.
- 19:56Speaker 5: But that defense, when they have one true stop against Dallas,
- 20:00Speaker 5: you can't have that against San Francisco. So if they
- 20:02Speaker 5: have any hope, they've got to win this one and
- 20:05Speaker 5: keep going from there.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Maybe went out.
- 20:07Speaker 2: At this point.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Yeah, And the big thing against them is that they
- 20:10Speaker 3: got swept by the Rams, and the Rams won again
- 20:15Speaker 3: they get to six and six, So the Seahawks legitimately
- 20:19Speaker 3: have to win some and they have to do it now.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Coming up, I mentioned Jake Browning and the Bengals.
- 20:28Speaker 2: They're a legit threat.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Where does Ed Holme have the fighting Jake Brownings? That's
- 20:34Speaker 3: next for the NFL Power Ranking Show present by Energizer.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Let's roll on here on the NFL Power Ranking Show
- 20:48Speaker 3: presented by Energizer. The Minnesota Vikings had to buy. They
- 20:52Speaker 3: fall in their by whatever to seventeen. The Cincinnati Bengals
- 20:57Speaker 3: are up to what a performance they had on Monday night.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Atlanta is nineteen and leading in a vision. The Rams
- 21:03Speaker 3: are twenty and the Chargers, the Saints, the Buccaneers and
- 21:05Speaker 3: the Raiders checking in Eric at home at twenty five
- 21:09Speaker 3: when I watched that game Monday night and Steve watch
- 21:11Speaker 3: and I did the NFL Game Day Final postgame show
- 21:14Speaker 3: on NFL Network, and I sat there and I said,
- 21:16Speaker 3: not only did the Bengals win and Jake Briding throw
- 21:18Speaker 3: for three fifty four, but that this team, if it
- 21:21Speaker 3: gets in. I know lou Anaromo's defense has given up
- 21:24Speaker 3: a lot of big plays downfield, but that Jake Browning
- 21:27Speaker 3: from what we saw Monday night, this team can win.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I mean, this team can make a run even since six.
- 21:33Speaker 4: I think I said on this show.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Correct me if I'm wrong that I thought Zach Taylor
- 21:37Speaker 5: could run about eighty percent of the offense that he
- 21:40Speaker 5: did with Burrow. With Jake Browning, I'm convinced it's now
- 21:42Speaker 5: about ninety nine percent. Right, Maybe some of the movement
- 21:45Speaker 5: stuff is going to be there, But Browning even did
- 21:47Speaker 5: with his legs. He had that long scramble in the
- 21:49Speaker 5: second half, he had a goal line rushing touchdown. And oh,
- 21:52Speaker 5: by the way, he threw thirty seven passes, five of
- 21:55Speaker 5: them hit the ground and one of them was a
- 21:57Speaker 5: clear drop.
- 21:57Speaker 4: So yeah, where has this been?
- 21:59Speaker 5: I mean, in twenty fifteen, When we first heard Jake
- 22:02Speaker 5: Browning's name on the national level as a college fresh
- 22:05Speaker 5: you know, all roads were open. They thought this guy
- 22:07Speaker 5: might be something truly special, a top ten pick kind
- 22:10Speaker 5: of guy.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Didn't work out that way.
- 22:12Speaker 5: But here he is, at age what twenty seven, now
- 22:14Speaker 5: getting his opportunity, andrew in an unusual circumstance with a
- 22:18Speaker 5: very talented team, and he made the most of it
- 22:20Speaker 5: in a brilliant performance.
- 22:22Speaker 4: I don't know what else you say.
- 22:23Speaker 2: It was brilliant. That sums it up.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Also only Zach Taylor's fifth victory ever as a head coach.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Without Wow goll Burrow, Jake Browning did everyone good there
- 22:37Speaker 3: in Cincinnati. Time for our I can't believe I'm going
- 22:41Speaker 3: to say this future champions for his head of my
- 22:42Speaker 3: panduel and they're the Atlanta Falcons. Well not really, but
- 22:45Speaker 3: we're gonna put the NFC South up here. The Falcons
- 22:48Speaker 3: are at six and six at minus one ninety to
- 22:52Speaker 3: win the division, followed by the Bucks and the Saints.
- 22:55Speaker 3: The Panthers are off the board because the Panthers on Sunday,
- 22:58Speaker 3: with their loss to the Buccaneers, became the first team eliminated.
- 23:04Speaker 3: The Welkins Eric, someone's got to win the division.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I guess.
- 23:09Speaker 5: They could, but boy, I mean another listless performance offensively,
- 23:13Speaker 5: I mean under two hundred yards of offense. Really, I
- 23:16Speaker 5: mean all but two drives. They did nothing right.
- 23:19Speaker 4: And the run game is still there. They still have
- 23:22Speaker 4: a defense.
- 23:22Speaker 5: It's going to make you really earn your yards against them.
- 23:25Speaker 5: But winning thirteen to eight games in which you have
- 23:28Speaker 5: a three to zero edge in the turnover department doesn't
- 23:31Speaker 5: excite me that much. Man, I have to say, I'm
- 23:33Speaker 5: not feeling it right now. But you know, they still
- 23:36Speaker 5: have a formula that some teams could struggle with.
- 23:38Speaker 4: And you know what comes with a winning.
- 23:40Speaker 5: The division a home game. So who knows they're right now?
- 23:43Speaker 5: I guess the favorites with the Saints really falling.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Off me yep, And they play the Bucks week eighteen,
- 23:47Speaker 3: Maybe that game is for the division and the loser
- 23:50Speaker 3: gets relegated to the XFL. Dared three. The Rams are
- 23:53Speaker 3: number twenty. I hit on them earlier, Eric, They're up
- 23:56Speaker 3: two spots. I mean they're offensive line and that run
- 24:00Speaker 3: game huge against the Brown.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Absolutely physical dominent.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Right yeah in the season, right, I mean, Sean McVay
- 24:08Speaker 5: is having a fine kind of new ways to winning.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Matthew Stafford got banged up receiver injuries with Cooper.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Cup Well, they have that there. When Kyraen Williams came
- 24:16Speaker 4: back in the lineup, it was seamless.
- 24:17Speaker 5: They started running the ball. And oh, by the way,
- 24:19Speaker 5: Pooka Akua hasn't gone anywhere. He's still special. Great long
- 24:22Speaker 5: run and some several great catches in this game. Unbelievable
- 24:26Speaker 5: rookie season so far. So you know, you've got Kyron Williams,
- 24:30Speaker 5: You've got Pooka Nakua, You've got you know, DeMarcus Robinson
- 24:33Speaker 5: playing big role for a team that was, you know,
- 24:36Speaker 5: out of it two and five, not even looking good,
- 24:38Speaker 5: not even having a shot at the playoffs.
- 24:40Speaker 4: So pretty amazing stuff.
- 24:41Speaker 3: In our final couple of seconds, twenty five to thirty two, Bears, Titans, Jets, Giants, Cardinals,
- 24:46Speaker 3: Commander's Patriots, Carol Aina, Panthers. Eric, will you commit right
- 24:50Speaker 3: now to giving everyone their money back if any of
- 24:53Speaker 3: these teams make the playoffs?
- 24:55Speaker 4: Absolutely guarantee you one hundred percent.
- 24:57Speaker 3: I'll do that, Okay, the shows for free, by the way,
- 25:00Speaker 3: for the record, so Eric at home, thank you as
- 25:03Speaker 3: always for putting up with me. Everyone enjoy Week fourteen.
- 25:06Speaker 2: My name is Andrew cciliano. Thanks for watching and listening
