- 0:00Mark chapter 2. Let us pray.
- 0:07Father, you're a good father. You father us well.
- 0:12You are high and lifted up. You're exalted.
- 0:14You are eternal. You are omnipotent.
- 0:17You're all powerful. You're omniscient, You know
- 0:20everything. You're omnipresent.
- 0:22You're everywhere. God.
- 0:24We bow down and reverence God. We know that you are mighty to
- 0:29save. We know that you are our
- 0:31everything. We know that you are a Father
- 0:36who loves well and who heals, who saves to the utmost.
- 0:42Yes, Lord, we know that you love us and that you are for us and
- 0:48not against us. Lord, we know that you're
- 0:50fighting our battles. We know that you are empowering
- 0:54us from on high. We know, God, that we are going
- 0:57to be there with you, Lord, and I pray in the name of Jesus for
- 1:01strength for the battle, strength for today.
- 1:04Let tomorrow worry about itself, God Almighty, but we pray for
- 1:08strength for today. Lord, let us get through today.
- 1:11Whatever today holds. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 1:14that you'll continue to fuel us and fill us.
- 1:17God, let the Holy Spirit well up within us.
- 1:20Holy Spirit, teach us. Holy Spirit, guide us.
- 1:23Holy Spirit, fill us. Holy Spirit, come, Lord, come.
- 1:27We cry out. Come.
- 1:28The Spirit and the bride says come.
- 1:30Yes, we're crying out. We're asking for the Lord's
- 1:33return. We're asking God that where you
- 1:36are we would desire to be. Yes.
- 1:39We just want more of you. We want to see you rightly.
- 1:43We want to taste and see that you're good.
- 1:45We want to be there with you. We want to lay our head on your
- 1:49chest. Yes, we want to be the disciples
- 1:52that you love. God, we want to do your will.
- 1:55We want to obey your word, God, We just want to be found with
- 1:59the hands of the plow. We do not want to be found
- 2:02looking back. We only want to be found
- 2:04pressing forward. So God, we press forward onto
- 2:08the new Jerusalem. We press forward into eternity.
- 2:12We press forward for what you have for us to for today.
- 2:15And so, God Almighty, I press the, I decrease as you increase.
- 2:20Let your words reign true forever.
- 2:22Let them resound off the rafters.
- 2:24Let them resound off the baseboards and the floorboard.
- 2:28God, let them go through all of eternity.
- 2:31Father, I pray for generations upon generations upon
- 2:34generations to be blessed from our obedience.
- 2:38God, we thank you for the cross of Christ.
- 2:40We thank you, God, that you've given us life and life abundant.
- 2:44We thank you God, that you have rebuked the devourer from off of
- 2:48our families. God, form a hedge of protection
- 2:51around us. Lord, in the name of Jesus, I
- 2:53pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 3:02And again he entered into Capernaum after some days and it
- 3:09was noised that he was in the house.
- 3:12He couldn't help but to cause a commotion Jesus Christ.
- 3:16Everywhere he went he gathered the masses and what were they
- 3:19wanting to see? They wanting to see this miracle
- 3:22worker. They were wanting to see their
- 3:25Liberator. They were wanting to see Jesus
- 3:29as the man who could heal. He was the great physician.
- 3:37He didn't even give them a bill. He paid the price.
- 3:40It was the ultimate price. He paid it on the cross.
- 3:44Thank you Jesus. It was noise that he was in the
- 3:48house 2 and straightway many were gathered together in so
- 3:54much that there was no room to receive them.
- 3:57No, not so much as about the door.
- 4:00And he preached the word unto them.
- 4:03Here is a coin phrase in Mark that you're going to see over
- 4:09and over and over. And you have to remember who
- 4:12Mark was writing this to. By the way, Mark is a disciple
- 4:16of Peter. Peter calls him his son.
- 4:19We know that he was a convert of Peters.
- 4:23And so here you're going to see this coined phrase that Mark
- 4:27uses over 40 times in his Gospel.
- 4:31Straightway it means, and immediately it means that this
- 4:36servant didn't drag his feet. And that's what Mark wanted his
- 4:40readers to know, that Jesus was about his Father's business.
- 4:47He did not come to be served, but to serve.
- 4:52And that is the coined phrase of the whole Gospel of Mark.
- 4:57Let's keep going. So straightway there was no
- 5:00room. They came to the door and there
- 5:02was no room. It was they were pressed in.
- 5:05Jesus is inside the house and he is preaching.
- 5:09And here comes a paraplegic, A quadriplegic.
- 5:13Here comes their friends, and they're bringing him to be
- 5:19healed. Three.
- 5:22And they came unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was
- 5:26born of four. So this is a an indicator of a
- 5:32quadriplegic. 4 And when they could not come near unto him for
- 5:37the press, they uncovered the roof where he was.
- 5:40And when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein
- 5:45the sick of the palsy lay. So the faith of these friends is
- 5:48what is going to heal their friend.
- 5:54These four friends, they were desperate.
- 5:57They even broke the roof of the house to lower this man down
- 6:01right in front of Jesus. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said
- 6:06unto the sick of the palsy, Son, your sins be forgiven you.
- 6:13He did not say rise and walk first, did He?
- 6:17He forgave his sins because what He was going to do here is prove
- 6:21a point to all of the heretical Pharisees, all the religious
- 6:27teachers who were there trying to trap him.
- 6:30He was going to prove a point. There was a common theme in
- 6:35their way of thinking that no one could be healed of a
- 6:39physical infirmity until their sins were forgiven first.
- 6:45So here Jesus is going to beat them at their own game.
- 6:49So the very first thing that he does is he says your sins are
- 6:53forgiven. And these are not necessarily
- 6:55the sins that got him into the condition that he was in.
- 6:58But we all need to be forgiven of our sins.
- 7:02We all, every single person, let every man be alive.
- 7:06We all need to be forgiven. And it would do us well to keep
- 7:11that in mind. We cannot behave our way into
- 7:14heaven. We cannot give enough money to
- 7:17make it into heaven. We cannot attend enough church
- 7:21camps to make it into heaven. We cannot attend enough of the
- 7:26seminars to make it into heaven. We cannot read the Bible enough
- 7:31to make it into heaven. We cannot pray enough to make it
- 7:34into heaven. We desperately need the blood of
- 7:37Christ covering us from the bottom of our feet to the top of
- 7:40our head. Friends, that's how we enter in.
- 7:43And Jesus here is telling the man that his sins are forgiven.
- 7:48And this is pre cross of Christ. So Jesus is foreshadowing here
- 7:55the work that he's about to do. And the religious leaders,
- 7:59they're so turned around, they're so indignant towards
- 8:03Jesus that they don't even know what to do with this man. 6 But
- 8:09there were certain of the scribes sitting there and
- 8:11reasoning in their hearts. So here they should have been
- 8:14reasoning in their hearts that this was the Messiah, that this
- 8:18was the son of David, that this was the long-awaited savior of
- 8:24the world who is to take away the sins of the world.
- 8:28And here the people were waiting.
- 8:31They were all turned around. They were waiting on a political
- 8:34leader. They were waiting on the our
- 8:36second advent, Jesus Christ, who's going to come with A2
- 8:40edged sword out of his mouth. And they had missed the whole
- 8:42point of the suffering servant. 7 Why does this man thus speak
- 8:48blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God
- 8:52only? If they would have been paying
- 8:54attention, He's already healed the leper.
- 8:56They would have been paying attention.
- 8:58He's already cast out demons. If they would have been paying
- 9:01attention, they would have known that this was God who took on
- 9:07flesh. 8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his Spirit
- 9:14that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them,
- 9:17Why reason you these things in your hearts?
- 9:20So this is discernment, friends. Jesus Christ is discerning their
- 9:25wicked thoughts. 9 which is easier to say to the sick of the
- 9:33palsy. Your sins be forgiven you or to
- 9:37say arise and take up your bed and walk.
- 9:41So here he's getting them into a corner, He's backing them into a
- 9:45corner. He's going to beat them at their
- 9:46own game. And they are sitting there
- 9:49reasoning within themselves that anybody could just say your sins
- 9:53are forgiven, but there's no proof of it.
- 9:57So Jesus here, he's going to prove that he is the Messiah, 10
- 10:05But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to
- 10:10forgive sins, He said to the sick of the palsy. 11 I say unto
- 10:15you, arise and take up your bed, and go your way into your own
- 10:19house. What a sight to see.
- 10:23What a miracle to rot in the land.
- 10:28Friends, look at how Jesus in front of everybody.
- 10:32Look at how Jesus has complete authority over the body and over
- 10:38the physical nature. And don't forget, friends, that
- 10:41he is still doing miracles. Don't forget, friends that we
- 10:46can still receive the healing. Friends, don't forget it.
- 10:51However, there are times where the Lord leaves us in that
- 10:54condition and that is not a cop out of what the Lord can do.
- 10:59The Lord just knows what's best and it's best for us to trust in
- 11:03His ways. His ways are not our ways and we
- 11:07need no matter what happens, we need to trust that He knows what
- 11:11He's doing and our prayers are not missed on Him.
- 11:14We need to increase the faith. We need to increase our faith
- 11:18knowing that what is to come is way better than any of the
- 11:22rewards that we could receive here on this earth.
- 11:25We need to know that what is next God has put together that
- 11:31is going to far supersede any of the experiences that we have
- 11:36here. And we could pray and pray and
- 11:38pray and increase our faith to the utmost and pray even more
- 11:42and have more than the faith of a mustard seed.
- 11:45But it's not the size of your faith.
- 11:47It's who your faith is placed in.
- 11:49And we need to be looking more for His presence than we do, for
- 11:53the presence that He can give us, for the gifts that He can
- 11:57give us, for the healings that He can give us.
- 12:00He came to save us from eternal damnation.
- 12:04And that is the greatest gift that we could ever receive, more
- 12:08than any of the healings, friends.
- 12:10And sometimes, yes, God does heal, and He can heal, and He is
- 12:15willing to heal, and all we need to do is get out of our own way
- 12:20and allow Him to have full access to every single part of
- 12:24us. Nothing compartmentalized,
- 12:26nothing held back, nothing hidden.
- 12:29Give it all over to Him, friends, and watch how he heals
- 12:33you. He heals you of all of your past
- 12:35trauma, your childhood trauma. He heals you from all of the
- 12:38hatred. He heals you from the racism.
- 12:41He heals you from all of the things that you beat yourself up
- 12:45on yourself degradation, and he heals you from all of the things
- 12:50that are plaguing you in your own mind in the prison cells
- 12:54that we all walk around with each and every day is the
- 12:57greatest healing to is to know that we're going to stand before
- 13:00Almighty God and he's only going to see us as perfect and
- 13:04spotless and sinless because of the blood of Jesus Christ.
- 13:08That is why he came. 12 And immediately he arose and took up
- 13:16his bed and went forth before them all in so much that they
- 13:20were all amazed and glorified God, saying, we never saw it on
- 13:24this fashion. Of course they never saw it on
- 13:29this fashion. Jesus Christ is unlike anybody
- 13:34else who's ever arrived on the scene.
- 13:37Jesus Christ has all authority and all power, and everything
- 13:41was created by him and for him and to him.
- 13:45And here you see the glory of God shrouded in human flesh and
- 13:53bone. He is God and he had all
- 13:56authority, and he came to show them their desperate need for
- 14:02Him. We never saw it on this fashion.
- 14:0613 And he went forth again by the seaside, and all the
- 14:11multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
- 14:15Look at how gracious he is. Look at how he amasses all of
- 14:20this big crowd, and he's so long-suffering and patient with
- 14:24them. He knows their true motives.
- 14:27He can discern their hearts and minds and thoughts, friends, And
- 14:32look at how he, he is teaching them. 14 And as he passed by, he
- 14:39saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the receipt of
- 14:43custom, and said unto him, Follow me.
- 14:47And he arose and followed him. So this was the calling of
- 14:51Matthew at the tax collector's booth.
- 14:54And look at how Jesus, as he's walking by, he's calling one of
- 14:59the lowest of the lowest of the lowest positions in all of the
- 15:04Jewish minds there of how this man was a traitor, this man was
- 15:10a thief. And look at how Jesus had
- 15:13compassion upon him. And when Matthew left his tax
- 15:17collector booth, there was no return.
- 15:21That was a heavily sought after position because you can become
- 15:25wealthy by doing it, by exacting the taxes for Rome off of your
- 15:33the backs of your own people and charging them over the amount
- 15:38that they actually owed and then pocketing the profit, pocketing
- 15:43the difference in here. When Jesus called Matthew, this
- 15:48was a huge deal. The fisherman could just go back
- 15:51to fishing. But Matthew, when he made this
- 15:53decision, there was no turning back.
- 15:56And we need to have that kind of commitment to the Lord is
- 15:59whenever we start following after the Lord, which is what it
- 16:04is. He's leading the charge and we
- 16:06follow him. Praise the Lord God Almighty, we
- 16:10have a Good Shepherd. But when we make that decision,
- 16:13there's no turning back. Do not be like Lot's wife.
- 16:16There is no turning back. We can't turn back when things
- 16:20don't go our way. When Jesus says eat my flesh and
- 16:23drink my blood and everyone leaves and he looks at you and
- 16:28he says, are you going to go to? We need to be able to say you
- 16:31have the words of eternal life. Where else would we go when life
- 16:35doesn't go the way that you thought it was going to go?
- 16:38When Jesus doesn't behave in the way that you thought he should
- 16:42behave, When Jesus isn't the moralistic teacher that you
- 16:46hoped him to be? We cannot turn our backs on him.
- 16:49He is the only one who's going to be able to lead us home, and
- 16:52his ways are not our ways, friends. 15 And it came to pass
- 17:01that as Jesus sat at me in his house, many publicans and
- 17:06sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples, for
- 17:10there were many, and they followed him.
- 17:13Think about it for a second. These are the tax collectors.
- 17:17These are the lowest of the lows in the Jewish society.
- 17:21And here they are sitting at dinner in Matthew's house with
- 17:26Jesus Christ. He was the friend of sinners.
- 17:31He said that the tax collectors and the prostitutes were coming
- 17:34into the Kingdom faster than the scribes and the Pharisees.
- 17:42We can see people who are like that son who says I don't want
- 17:47to go help father and then later as they say yes, I will go and
- 17:52help him as opposed to those who say yes Sir, I will go, but then
- 17:57they don't go. You can see it all playing out
- 18:00and it's happening in our day, in our society.
- 18:02There are many who went to seminary.
- 18:05There are many who've attended church their whole life.
- 18:08There are many who sure looked the part.
- 18:10But they're wolves. They're ravenous wolves and
- 18:13sheep's clothing. And there are many today who are
- 18:16strung out on drugs. There are many today who are in
- 18:22promiscuous situations and they will come in to the Kingdom of
- 18:26God because they're going to see their need for Him and their way
- 18:29of life is not working and they desperately need a savior.
- 18:33They desperately need something to change because nothing is
- 18:38fitting. There's a giant hole in their
- 18:40heart and they know that the only one that can fill it is the
- 18:43Lord God Almighty. And we do not stay atheistic
- 18:47friends. We do not stay unspiritual for
- 18:50very long. We will fill that void with
- 18:53something and far be it from us, and God forbid that we fall into
- 18:59the occult and into the satanic realm and we fall and open our
- 19:03portal up, open up ourselves and the gateway of allowing the
- 19:08demonic oppression and possession and influence into
- 19:12our lives. We need Jesus, we need the name
- 19:15of Jesus covering us daily. 16 And when the scribes and the
- 19:22Pharisee saw him eat with the publicans and sinners, they said
- 19:26unto his disciples, How is it that he eats and drinks with
- 19:29publicans and sinners? So here it is friends, We can
- 19:32see Jesus, the friend of sinners.
- 19:35We can see Jesus, he had the harshest things to say towards
- 19:40the religious people. Go and read it.
- 19:43We are reading it now. Listen up friends, you can see
- 19:47that Jesus was very rough and tumble with the religious
- 19:51people, but look at how with the sinners, He was never afraid of
- 19:58being tainted by them. He never condoned their
- 20:02behavior. He told them to go and sin no
- 20:05more unless something worse happened to them, but he was not
- 20:08afraid of being defiled by them. And what a word for us today.
- 20:13We do not cosign on people's garbage.
- 20:16We do not cosign on their addictions.
- 20:18We do not cosign on their sin friends, but we meet them where
- 20:22they're at. We share the love of Christ
- 20:25where they're at, and it's the love of Christ that produces the
- 20:29obedience. It's the love of Christ that
- 20:32produces the decision. It's not the hatred, friends.
- 20:36It's not being hateful, friends. It's not condemning people to
- 20:40hell before they ever even die. It is US showing the love of
- 20:46Christ. It is grace with teeth, and it
- 20:53is the truth with tears. That is how we approach every
- 21:01situation, even all the situations of our day and our
- 21:04hour. We do not need to find ourselves
- 21:07on the wrong side of the aisle, friends.
- 21:10We need to find the balance of seeking justice and loving mercy
- 21:14and walking humbly with our God. 17 And when Jesus heard it, he
- 21:21said unto them, They that are whole have no need of the
- 21:26physician, but they that are sick, I came not to call the
- 21:31righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- 21:35He says, if you cannot see your need for repentance, there is no
- 21:38help for you. And what did he say?
- 21:41He said a man left his 99 sheep to go find the one lost sheep.
- 21:46And I'll tell you, there is more rejoicing in heaven over 1
- 21:51Sinner who sees his need for repentance than for the 99 who
- 21:56do not. That is what is encapsulated
- 21:58right here in this verse, friends, that it is the sick who
- 22:02need a doctor that is the sick who need the Great Physician.
- 22:06And if you think that I'm fine and I'm great and I don't have a
- 22:09need for Jesus and I'm going to save myself, then you are bound
- 22:13and destined to bust hell wide open, because there is no
- 22:17salvation apart from Jesus Christ. 18 In the disciples of
- 22:23John and of the Pharisees used to fast, and they came and say
- 22:27unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees
- 22:31fast, but your disciples fast? Not So here in this culture, in
- 22:35this day, in this age. Jesus would know that whenever
- 22:39the wedding feast was going on, a lot of the laws that were
- 22:44prescribed of the bylaws that were attached on to the original
- 22:51commandments that they were allowed to be broken during the
- 22:55joyous festivities of a of a wedding.
- 22:59And what duplicity and hypocrisy.
- 23:01And Jesus again is going to beat them at their own game.
- 23:05Jesus again is going to show them their duplicity.
- 23:09He's going to show them that he is the bridegroom and that his
- 23:13disciples are allowed to break all of their man made bylaws
- 23:21that were attached that they demanded people to practice and
- 23:28to obey. And Jesus was willingly and
- 23:32Jesus was going in and stirring the waters.
- 23:39He was going in and breaking all of their man made traditions on
- 23:46purpose. It was intentional.
- 23:49Let's see what he has to say. 19 And Jesus said unto them, Can
- 23:54the children of the bride chamber fast while the
- 23:59bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the
- 24:02bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
- 24:05So here he's telling all of the religious people who were caught
- 24:09up in religion, he was showing them that there's grace with us
- 24:15friends. We have freedom, friends.
- 24:18We have liberty, friends. But it is not to be abused.
- 24:22And if you truly know Jesus, you will not abuse that grace. 20
- 24:29But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away
- 24:32from them, and then shall they fast in those days.
- 24:35Here he is foreshadowing and prophesying his death, burial,
- 24:39resurrection, and ascension unto the Father.
- 24:42He says And then we us now are his disciples will fast.
- 24:49It is good for us to fast. Some things only go out by
- 24:53prayer and fasting. If you've been praying and
- 24:55praying and praying, you've been falling on your face and
- 24:58worshiping the Lord. Incorporate fasting into your
- 25:03life and watch how things start moving.
- 25:06Watch how even the things within your own self start to move. 21
- 25:12No man also sews a piece of new cloth on an old garment else the
- 25:17new piece that filled it up takes away the of the old and
- 25:21the RIP is made worse. Think about it for a second
- 25:24friends. You have an old pair of jeans
- 25:26that's been washed 100,000 times and it and they fit perfectly
- 25:33and there's a hole in them and you go and you buy a new patch
- 25:38to sew on it. This new patch is has not been
- 25:42washed. This new patch has not shrunk to
- 25:46where it's going to be. And you sew it.
- 25:48You cut it perfectly for the whole of those old jeans and you
- 25:52sew that patch on there. Then you start washing those
- 25:56jeans. Naturally, that new patch is
- 25:59going to shrink and look at the circumference of the old hole
- 26:05now as it, as the new patch tears away, the hole is even
- 26:09bigger than it was before you put the new patch on it.
- 26:13And Jesus is going to expound upon this.
- 26:15He's going to let us know that He's doing a new thing, that
- 26:18their old way of doing things is broken.
- 26:22And no, He did not come to abolish it.
- 26:24He came to fulfill it. And that is what He is
- 26:26referencing in this moment. He's showing them that they need
- 26:29to get out of their own way, that God doesn't behave in the
- 26:33way that we want him to. We cannot put God in a box.
- 26:37We cannot box him in and tell God how to behave.
- 26:40We cannot tell God what he can and can't do.
- 26:42God is in heaven and does whatever he pleases, friends,
- 26:45and we would do well to understand that God is not
- 26:48limited, friends. He does not limit himself to
- 26:54anything. He is, I am, We are the created
- 26:58ones, and he is the only uncreated.
- 27:01And here Jesus is showing them that whenever they try to box
- 27:04God in, it'll never work. 22 And no man puts new wine into old
- 27:11bottles, else the new wine does burst the bottles, and the wine
- 27:15is spilled, and the bottles will be marred, and the new wine must
- 27:19be put into new bottles. So here Jesus is showing them in
- 27:24the most easiest fashion, in the in the most simplest terms,
- 27:31Jesus is showing them that if you put unfermented wine into an
- 27:38old bottle, this brittle, as the fermentation process starts to
- 27:42happen, it's going to burst open because that old wineskin has
- 27:51already expanded to the point and the new wine is going to
- 27:57burst it. It is a simple process and it
- 28:00would have been better understood by them, but we need
- 28:02to know that Jesus desires new wine in our lives.
- 28:07We cannot just hold fast to all of the traditionalism, friends
- 28:11and the legalism, friends. We need to know that Jesus calls
- 28:15us into an adventure. And sometimes what he's asking
- 28:19you to do, it goes against and defies all the things that
- 28:22you've ever been taught. Friends, all these man made
- 28:26little bylaws, all of these man made traditions that we have
- 28:32placed and said God does this and God does that sometimes.
- 28:36We need to break free from all of the legalism and to break
- 28:40free from the religion and break free from the traditionalism.
- 28:44And we need to know that God can do anything and that we need to
- 28:47sit in His presence. We need to receive from Him and
- 28:50we need to know that He's leading us in places where he is
- 28:54already gone. He's already gone to prepare and
- 28:57we need to go in those places and be faithful to speak a word.
- 29:01And we need to know that He is moving mightily in our midst and
- 29:05He's calling many people to Himself and He uses us for those
- 29:09things. And we need to stiff arm all the
- 29:12naysayers who tell us that God doesn't behave that way.
- 29:15God doesn't do that. We need to know that we are
- 29:18moving in accord with Jesus Christ.
- 29:21We're moving in accord with what the Lord has done and what He is
- 29:25doing in our lives. We need to not worry about the
- 29:27fear of man, Friends. 23 And it came to pass that he went
- 29:32through the cornfields on the Sabbath day, and his disciples
- 29:36began, as they went to pluck the ears of corn.
- 29:39So here you can see that they are not behaving in the way that
- 29:44all of the religious people expected them to behave.
- 29:47And that is a word for us today when we're walking with Jesus
- 29:52Christ. There's freedom, friends, we're
- 29:56free who the sun sets free is free indeed friends, we do not
- 30:00have to worry about offending man.
- 30:06The word of God is an offence. 24 And the Pharisees said unto
- 30:11him, Behold, why do they on the Sabbath day that which is not
- 30:15lawful? Jesus was not worried about all
- 30:20of their man made laws and we will always obey the law until
- 30:26the law goes against the word of God and then we will be, we will
- 30:29become lawbreakers. 25 And he said unto them, Have you never
- 30:35read what David did when he had need and wasn't hungry?
- 30:40And he and they that were with him.
- 30:42Jesus is saying, have you never read the Bible?
- 30:46Jesus is saying go and read the story of when Jesus went in and
- 30:50was eating the priests bread. That was not lawful for him to
- 30:54do, but God allowed it. There is a great amount of
- 30:59freedom when you're following lockstep with God Almighty, and
- 31:05this is a word for us today. We need to break free out of all
- 31:08of the ritualistic approach, all the ceremonious approach to God
- 31:14Almighty, and we need to know that God is the I Am and we
- 31:23cannot box him in. 26 How he went into the House of God in
- 31:28the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the
- 31:31showbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priest, and
- 31:36gave also to them that were with him.
- 31:39He should have been killed, he should have been stoned to
- 31:41death. He should have been run through
- 31:44and look at how God protected him because he had captured the
- 31:48heart of God. He was a man after God's own
- 31:50heart. And that is a word for you
- 31:52today, friend. Are you a man after God's own
- 31:56heart? Are you following hard after
- 31:58God, and stiff arming this world, and stiff arming all of
- 32:02the cares of this world, and stiff arming the fear of man?
- 32:0827 And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and
- 32:13not man for the Sabbath. What a word for us today.
- 32:19We are not held to having to observe the Sabbath.
- 32:25The Sabbath is a wonderful time for us to sharpen the saw.
- 32:31But if you have an ox that has fallen into the hole, pull the
- 32:35ox out. Friends, don't be so legalistic.
- 32:3828 Therefore the Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath.
- 32:45We will do well to remember that Jesus is Lord over all and
- 32:50everything seen and unseen, everything discovered and
- 32:54undiscovered, the past, present and future, all belong to Him.
- 32:59And as long as we're yoked up with Him, don't be surprised.
- 33:02Of all the places that He takes, you got to get out-of-the-box,
- 33:07friends. We've got to follow after Him.
- 33:11Lock eyes with Him today, friends.
- 33:14What a wonderful journey it is to follow after the Lord Jesus
- 33:17Christ and to know that we're not going to miss out on
- 33:20anything. As long as you wake up in the
- 33:22morning and as long as you acknowledge Him.
- 33:25He's directing your steps, friends.
- 33:27Acknowledge Him today. Give Him your whole life today.
- 33:33Don't hold anything back today. Let them work mightily in your
- 33:38life today. Listen to the still small voice
- 33:41today. Empty yourself of yourself
- 33:44today. Friends.
- 33:45Give your life completely and totally and utterly over to him.
- 33:51Get rid of all of your wants and desires and the way that you
- 33:55think that this life should go and get rid of your trying to
- 34:00save your skin. Get rid of all of your fears of
- 34:05death. Get rid of all of it and
- 34:08surrender unto him completely, wholeheartedly.
- 34:14Nothing held back, nothing compartmentalized.
- 34:17Go through all the Hallows of your mind.
- 34:20Go through every emotion and surrender it all to him.
- 34:24Confess it all to him. Ask for forgiveness.
- 34:29Have that change of mind and let these words wash over your mind.
- 34:35If any man is in Christ, he's a new creation.
- 34:38Praise God. Hallelujah.
- 34:40I beg you, therefore, brothers, to offer your bodies as a living
- 34:44sacrifice, which is your reasonable service unto God.
- 34:50And be not conform to this world, but be transformed by the
- 35:00renewing of your mind. Let these words wash over your
- 35:04mind. Friends, the greatest battle
- 35:07that you're going to face today is within the six inches between
- 35:10your two ears. Take every thought captive and
- 35:16make it obedient unto these words that we are reading today.
- 35:20Friends, know that you know that you know that you know that God
- 35:24is and that He can and he is willing be blessed today.
- 35:34I hope you've been blessed by this chapter here.
- 35:37I know I sure have. Praying for every single one of
- 35:42you. I love you, so does God.
- 35:51We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 35:53God bless you.
