- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? You know what, your least,
- 0:15favorite scary movie, the podcast, where we talked about
- 0:17the good, the bad, the ugly, and the Absurd, and all of our
- 0:20favorite least, favorite, scary movies, because we believe every
- 0:23horror movie rightfully, has its fanbase, even if we don't always
- 0:27get it? My name is Travis.
- 0:29My name is Jessie. See, and welcome to prom
- 0:31everybody. That's right.
- 0:34You guys have decided to join us for our.
- 0:38What's your least favorite scary movie prom?
- 0:41And if you haven't decided to join us, then you're very much,
- 0:44like, Brent in this movie. That what are you talking about?
- 0:48I guess your will. That's okay.
- 0:50I'm ready to drag people in here if they're not ready, Kicking
- 0:53and Screaming. Something about this problem
- 0:55though. Is it last for a whole month?
- 0:57Yeah, we have another theme month for you.
- 1:00As we are doing prompting movies, this month, except for
- 1:03screen for except for screen for, but even then that's a very
- 1:06high school movie. Yes.
- 1:08It's so use more High School than the first one somehow.
- 1:11Instead of prom we take a little break and do stabbed Athan.
- 1:16So that's cool. Yeah.
- 1:17It there's still a event that happens either way.
- 1:21So yeah. The first movie that we're going
- 1:23to be talking about this month is the loved ones.
- 1:26This is a fucked-up little movie.
- 1:29At Jesse. And I watched a while back and
- 1:31it's just kind of stuck with us ever since.
- 1:34Yep. So we felt like it would be a
- 1:36good one to open things up with this month.
- 1:39But before we get into our movie talk, Jesse, do you have any
- 1:42announcements? Just that, if you are a budget
- 1:46level Patron, then you have access to our most recent bonus
- 1:51episode from this past Sunday, where we did were trivia, yep,
- 1:57played a little rapid-fire game of Were Trivial Pursuit?
- 2:02Yeah, it was a fun time. Lots of spoiler alert.
- 2:06One of us won by a lot compared to the other.
- 2:12Well, every to say, it wasn't until one pulled away.
- 2:16Yeah. We all say, but obviously, from
- 2:19the tone of this conversation, you can tell who me who's a
- 2:21little bit defensive versus who's a little bit, hey Mackey.
- 2:27Just listen to find out. It was a on time, wasn't that
- 2:31good information there? Okay.
- 2:32Well, is that all you got? Because I got our poll results
- 2:36for last week's movie. Okay.
- 2:38So last week, we talked about Scream 3.
- 2:42Yeah a 33 and we wanted to know which of Maureen Prescott films
- 2:48that she filmed at her one year in Hollywood, would you guys
- 2:52rather watch so the three films are Amazon.
- 2:56B's space psychos. And From the San Andreas fault.
- 3:02So on Twitter, 67% would watch Amazon bees. 33% would watch
- 3:08space. Psychos. 0% creatures from the
- 3:12San Andreas fault. Gotta agree.
- 3:14That one's the week is sounding one to me.
- 3:15Also, yeah, Instagram, 20%. Amazon bees 73%, space.
- 3:22Psychos 7% creatures, from the San Andreas fault.
- 3:27I went to, I'm going to agree with Instagram on this.
- 3:29One. Yep, I'm thinking space Acres.
- 3:32Space Echo. Sounds, awesome.
- 3:33Yeah, sci-fi horror slasher. I'm just making it now.
- 3:37This is Roger Corman movie. Yeah, definitely.
- 3:39Absolutely already confirmed that in our episodes.
- 3:42Okay. All right.
- 3:43That's our 4-pole. Okay.
- 3:45Okay, so let's talk about the loved ones.
- 3:47Yeah, another little tidbit for our patrons, you can see from
- 3:53our show notes on this week, we ran out of our preparation
- 3:58sheets here. So I had to scribble.
- 4:00All this stuff down on a blank sheet of paper.
- 4:02Yep, so going a little bit Uncharted territories today but
- 4:06it's okay. This is back to the way it used
- 4:08to be, okay? So the loved ones, this
- 4:11premiered. September 13th, 2009 at the
- 4:14Toronto International Film Festival, okay?
- 4:17That it's at wide release on IMDb, it says January 4th 2010.
- 4:24However, I was reading that there was originally DVDs.
- 4:29Booted back on November 9th, or November 2009?
- 4:34Yeah, I have 2009. As this may be his year.
- 4:37Well, I mean, that's when it premiered at the festival but,
- 4:40you know, at wide 2009, it has there is a source that says,
- 4:46came out in November, okay? Fun, little thing about this.
- 4:49There's not been a Blu-ray of this released.
- 4:51Apparently, it's only DVD, which is what we have, that's what we
- 4:55watched for this right here. Indeed.
- 4:58However, if you want to It, you have two options, you have
- 5:02Paramount plus which you pay for and then there's also Pluto TV,
- 5:06which is free. Yeah so you can watch it for
- 5:08free or you can watch it through paid options, whatever.
- 5:12This was written by Sean burn. This was his very first movie.
- 5:16It was also directed by him music by Ali Olsen.
- 5:21There's also a wide range of Indie band, say he had to
- 5:25provide the soundtrack. Also for, I guess songs that go
- 5:29on during Being a little jam session the car that they go
- 5:32through. Yeah.
- 5:33Stuff like that. Well also Lola's favorite song.
- 5:37Am I not pretty enough? Yeah, which I was singing in
- 5:39really is this even a real song and as if I haven't looked it up
- 5:43yes it surprised you don't have it saved in your Spotify like
- 5:47this. The baby came out back in the
- 5:49days of like YouTube in on my favorite music.
- 5:52Oh yeah, way back then. Did we did you watch this
- 5:57before? We watched it together?
- 5:59No. So, we watched it together for
- 6:01the first time. Yeah, okay.
- 6:03Yeah. Got you okay, special effects
- 6:06was done by Angelo. Sahin Olivier, Duval Justin,
- 6:10dicks, and lay Marsh. Okay, cast on this Xavier,
- 6:16Samuel plays, Brent, Robin, McAuley V plays, she's credited
- 6:20as Princess but possible. In this movie, John Brompton
- 6:26plays, daddy who I credited in the the notes as father because
- 6:31he strikes me more as a father rather than daddy.
- 6:34Also just know. Yeah, we can go into this.
- 6:39He will not go into that Richard Wilson.
- 6:43Please, Jamie Victoria Thane, Place, Holly.
- 6:47Jessica McNamee, plays Mia, and Jetta plays dog.
- 6:52I'm sad, that dog doesn't get a name especially because spoiler,
- 6:56sad. Spoiler duck, dog dies.
- 6:59Yeah. I'm kind of shocked.
- 7:01The dog doesn't get a name either.
- 7:02I wonder if they even knew. Oh, God, it's stuck.
- 7:05Maybe it was just called Dog. I've known people to just name
- 7:08their dogs, dog. I mean, we had a dog named puppy
- 7:12for a long time. We caught Talia puppy all the
- 7:14time. Yeah.
- 7:15You know, to be fair though, she did end up getting renamed
- 7:18Nelson, but for a long time and feel like somebody would have
- 7:21dumped her and then for your back and let somebody else go to
- 7:23doctor for your back. So yeah, she just like, just
- 7:26poppy was just puppy for a really long time was fine.
- 7:30Okay, Jesse but her Buck Ted bug.
- 7:33Ted bug, Ted, yeah, okay, this is a bug Ted movie.
- 7:36However, this is more of a bug Ted than I would have ever
- 7:39guessed. It has a bug Ted of four million
- 7:42dollars. Okay.
- 7:44That's, you know, that's about where I was thinking around like
- 7:475 million. I think that's kind of
- 7:49surprising. Honestly, considering this movie
- 7:52doesn't really have, it doesn't look like it would need four
- 7:55million dollars to be made, you know, like it's mostly at her.
- 7:59House and in a car, you know what I mean?
- 8:04And a road, a few points and the still and the school, but the
- 8:09school is another car. Okay, there's another car.
- 8:12There are multiple scenes and settings, it's just like not a
- 8:15whole lot. Yeah, box office on this thing.
- 8:19It made three hundred fifty, eight thousand and three hundred
- 8:22ninety nine dollars. Yeah, it didn't, it didn't do
- 8:28super, I mean at the end of the day this is still like a little
- 8:33Indie movie. A guy like that Film Fest but
- 8:36then it never really gotten at wide release.
- 8:38So I think yeah even if it's not I think that's pretty good for a
- 8:42not wide release personally, IMDb score, six point six That's
- 8:48pretty. You know what?
- 8:49Yeah, considering this isn't like a is an incredibly
- 8:52well-known movie to people that aren't like these on roof.
- 8:57And yeah, people who are in the were probably are aware of this.
- 9:01I feel like a lot of people are, but then again, we're very much
- 9:05in that community. So yeah, it's really hard to
- 9:07have a gauge on, what is like a woman who?
- 9:10Well, obviously everybody knows the loved ones.
- 9:12Yeah. Okay.
- 9:16Got three movies cat. No.
- 9:17No real team. Other than some of them are
- 9:21there more bug? Ted.
- 9:23But and some of them are okay. Actually originally I was going
- 9:27for fucked up fuck this but ended on a different note but
- 9:33I'll start off with the the fucked up.
- 9:35Okay? Human Centipede okay okay yeah
- 9:39out August 30th 2009 that's definitely not an accessible
- 9:43movie but it is what everybody knows about.
- 9:45That is a movie that I Its reputation is way more harsh
- 9:52than it actually is because if you watch that movie, it's not
- 9:55that bad. The sequel's, however are super
- 10:00fucked up. We turned off to watching it.
- 10:03Well, Paul says, moving out, the South Park Treatment to so I
- 10:07think that they made it more like more people aware.
- 10:10Yeah, I think a lot of people were already aware, like, this
- 10:14thing kind of spread because it's just so absurd.
- 10:18It has a budget of 1.5 million pounds.
- 10:22Okay. Gross of 325 thousand dollars.
- 10:26Okay, so around the same as the loved ones here, IMDb score,
- 10:314.4, interesting movie, number two Antichrist.
- 10:36Oh boy. Yes, another movie that came
- 10:41out, May 20th 2009 with a budget of 11 million dollars, okay?
- 10:45Had a gross of 7.4 million You okay, Willem Dafoe did bring in
- 10:50bring in the Bucks. Some, yeah, I think I'm sure the
- 10:55other person in the movie is famous, do, I can't remember, I
- 10:59never watched it just hearing about this movie, I've read
- 11:02about it and that's about as much as I want to examine.
- 11:05Maybe one day, I'll be like, you know, I went to ruin my day.
- 11:09Yeah, but not not anytime soon. I don't think I remember our
- 11:14Pals at seventh Circle Fillmore like, you guys want to cover.
- 11:17Von Trier and I was like, I don't think I do exhibit all of
- 11:28those movies and then spend all of that time talking about them,
- 11:31that just sounds like a bummer of a weekend.
- 11:33Yeah, that's a, that's a rough way to spin a week for sure that
- 11:38has an IMDb of 6.5. So it's a pretty, I'm sure it's
- 11:43a good movie. But, you know, it's kind of
- 11:45like, Requiem for a Dream. Yeah, we one of those ones you
- 11:48watch Once. OK.
- 11:50And then the 3rd movie. I'm really interested to hear
- 11:52what this change is wrong. Turn three.
- 11:57Oh my God. Boom got shit with it.
- 12:01Cannibals, the fucked up. This is cons convicts.
- 12:06This is the one where the beginning, right?
- 12:08The prequel know that's that's for this one, then this is the
- 12:13one where the convicts? Oh.
- 12:18Prison bus wrecks and they're out there in the woods.
- 12:24Hooting and hollering House movie has made, absolutely no
- 12:28impression on me. Because every time you bring it
- 12:31up and like, I do not know what you're talking.
- 12:33I always you've watched it like five times a couple of times.
- 12:36I remember it because I just remember first time watching it
- 12:40thinking God, this shitty, but then watching the others in the
- 12:44series and then coming back to me like, wow, this is that good.
- 12:48Wow, I remember really not liking this at first but wow,
- 12:50it's just, I mean, once you watch six, the rest are all just
- 12:54kind of like, you know what? It's okay and great and the
- 12:58reboot That's just, I don't even think it should be called Wrong
- 13:02Turn. No, I don't think.
- 13:04I don't think we would have been as upset by the movie if it
- 13:07wasn't called Wrong Turn. Hmm.
- 13:09No, I would have been more accepting.
- 13:11Yeah, I would have been like, this is a weird movie but it's
- 13:12okay. But you go in expecting hootin
- 13:15and hollerin. And there was no who'd and and
- 13:18less than o'halloran's. It would have been hollering,
- 13:20maybe but not the type of holler and then we want, okay, that
- 13:24came out October 20th, 2009, okay, had a budget three million
- 13:28dollars. Don't know how that happened,
- 13:32don't have a gross on it because that baby went straight to DVD
- 13:37and IMDb score. 4.6, that's one of those franchises that you're
- 13:41like, there's how many of us? Yeah.
- 13:44Just you know what? They're pretty okay, it's a fun
- 13:51series. Okay, even the bad ones except
- 13:54for 6 and the last one I can watch them.
- 13:58Five of them has fucking Pinhead in.
- 14:00In it, that one's pretty upsetting.
- 14:02That one's very that. One's a very upsetting one.
- 14:06Yeah, it's very mean. They're all very mean movies,
- 14:11that that wouldn't feel is the meanest kind of the cool thing
- 14:15about those those they still. I think that's the one that you
- 14:18have that that same director that's stuck with them.
- 14:21For like three of them, he started with this one, the third
- 14:24one. And I remember he was actually
- 14:27pretty big with practical effects.
- 14:30Remember like oh yeah that's how we got into the kill count.
- 14:32And I remember like seeing him break it down and it was the
- 14:34same dude and showing how they did.
- 14:37All the Kill Zone that was like, you know what, I'll give him
- 14:39some respects like ya doing. That is nice to see these days,
- 14:43okay? Those are my three movies.
- 14:45Okay, got some taglines, multiple surprisingly.
- 14:49Wow, I would have pictured. This is a one tag line to I was
- 14:52shocked to see that. Good Calipari one in bed.
- 14:55Yeah. Okay, first one, you don't have
- 14:59to die to go to. Oh, hell.
- 15:01You know what? That's not bad.
- 15:03Yeah, because they're its kind of hell.
- 15:06Yeah, their house for sure. Spoiler alert.
- 15:07This is kind of a zombie movie. Yeah.
- 15:10I mean in a lot of ways. Yeah it kind of goes into the
- 15:13zombie territory there for a second.
- 15:16Okay second one don't break her heart.
- 15:19Yeah that's why. Yeah, that's it.
- 15:22That's a good. That's a good tagline honestly.
- 15:25Yeah I think it is. Yeah, the loved ones.
- 15:26Don't break her heart. The original in said, yeah,
- 15:32okay. Third, one prom night can be
- 15:34torture. I kind of like that.
- 15:37I like it, but I also don't know this movie feels less generic
- 15:43than that tag light it is, but like, it's prom night and he's
- 15:46getting tortured. Yeah, I know.
- 15:49I agree with the tagline. I just think it's not special
- 15:52enough. Okay.
- 15:53That's not pretty enough for it. Okay, very nice.
- 15:56Yeah, fourth and Animal. Hell hath.
- 15:59No, fury Dots Dots Dots. Yes, like a prom queen scorned.
- 16:06I would have been fine like stopping at the dot dot dot.
- 16:09But I'm okay with that, too. I guess you did cut it off.
- 16:11Like. Yeah.
- 16:13Right there. No.
- 16:15Hell hath. No.
- 16:16Fury like a prom queen scorned. Okay.
- 16:19That was okay, too. Yeah, these are all pretty good.
- 16:22Yeah. I like them.
- 16:22They're pretty solid honestly. Yeah.
- 16:25Okay. Fun, facts.
- 16:26Okay, got it. Couple here.
- 16:28No, no, I'm for this one. So first off, this was
- 16:32originally rated as are 18 plus by the Australia Australian
- 16:37classification board which I'm assuming is like their MP a type
- 16:41of that and I'm sure 18 Quest is like they're in C-17.
- 16:46Okay? I would imagine but an appeal
- 16:49was made and the review board guided to ma 15 plus The reason
- 16:55that it got this new rating, they made an argument that due
- 16:58to the comedic aspects. Mitigating both the sadistic
- 17:01aspect and the impact on violence the old scream argh.
- 17:07Yeah. So like we got we injected some
- 17:10comic relief. So and she does say, that the pp
- 17:15is crying whenever he's peeing at one point.
- 17:18So there's a little bit of humor injected here so it's okay if
- 17:21she drill some people in the school and make some Is and, you
- 17:25know, does it all kinds of other fucked-up shit?
- 17:28I think that's funny, though, that they made that and they're
- 17:30like, you know what? Sure, yeah, I liked it laughter.
- 17:34I chuckled at that. Some of the Inspirations for
- 17:40this movie were Texas, Chainsaw Massacre.
- 17:42Hmm, I see that Kari, which apparently the whole purple
- 17:46dress was inspired purely from Carrie.
- 17:49Okay, my purple pink. There you go, she's pink.
- 17:52Yeah, isn't her. Addressing Carrie White?
- 17:55Yes it is. Well that's also her name,
- 17:58Carrie. White Ice.
- 17:59Yeah I saw you kind of go Carrie White.
- 18:03Yeah. But then you know the pig's
- 18:04blood. Yes.
- 18:05Exact sound. Okay.
- 18:06So that's why this one. Yeah comes in.
- 18:08Okay misery was another one. Yeah, absolutely.
- 18:11See that audition. Okay.
- 18:14Another one I can definitely see.
- 18:16So those all served as inspiration.
- 18:18However Sean burn gave princess Robin the Qui Vive Extra
- 18:25instructions to study Jeffrey Dahmer.
- 18:28Okay? Because this is very much
- 18:31Jeffrey Dahmer's whole Mo thing here.
- 18:33Drilling. This whole pouring, his whole
- 18:36thing was pouring acid into the school.
- 18:38I think there's is boiling boiling water, and pouring into
- 18:42the skull, to melt the brain. Also told her to watch.
- 18:47Natural, Born Killers. Hmm.
- 18:49And Quentin Tarantino films. Yep.
- 18:52So, I don't understand And why Tarantino necessarily needs to
- 18:56be there. She's got very, she makes me
- 18:59think of Honey Bunny in Pulp Fiction.
- 19:03The girl that gets up on the listen up here.
- 19:06Every last one of you motherfuckers ain't you got that
- 19:09Vibe a little bit. Yeah some points get that.
- 19:11I get that. I get.
- 19:14I definitely got any Wilkes, I get any for sure.
- 19:17Big time. I've never seen Natural Born
- 19:19Killers but I just got kind of that like gleeful, statism that
- 19:24We associate with a lot of Tarantino films, I guess I could
- 19:27see ya. Yeah, sure.
- 19:30He obviously knew it was soon. Yeah, no question.
- 19:34I feel like I remember saying that after we watch this where I
- 19:37was like, it feels very misery meets Tarantino and then I
- 19:40looked up some stuff on IMDb and it said that she had that
- 19:44homework assignment. Yeah, work, the character does a
- 19:48good job. Yang in settling, John Jarrett.
- 19:51If you're familiar with that, oh my God.
- 19:54Wolf Creek, he turned down the role of daddy because he didn't
- 19:58want to be Typecast. All right, John I've already
- 20:04done one fucked-up movie probably about to do to and a TV
- 20:09series. Yeah, do need to have that.
- 20:11I don't want to be Daddy. I remember he wasn't some movie
- 20:15that they showed on the last drive in and he wasn't in a like
- 20:18sadistic row. I know what it is, fuck, what
- 20:21was that? Fucking because that's one job.
- 20:23I was talking about how he didn't want.
- 20:24Typecast and we laughed about it then to ya shit.
- 20:27What was that movie called? I can't remember.
- 20:31Fuck man. Whatever.
- 20:32Yeah. It's like a another Australian
- 20:34movie but like it's a slow burn for sure.
- 20:38Yeah. I remember that.
- 20:39Yeah. Okay.
- 20:41Final thing Prince character has no lines of dialogue after the
- 20:45twenty seven minute Mark. Yeah.
- 20:47Once he gets the bleach injected.
- 20:48Yeah. So our main character does not
- 20:51talk for like most of the movie. I feel like that's kind of
- 20:55diminishing his delivery of line such as he does kill that
- 21:03Nelson. That's probably that was his
- 21:05audition. Like, all right, I don't need
- 21:07you to read any of these lines. Give me a good scream, like your
- 21:11vocal cord. Has been permanently damaged.
- 21:15Oh my God, we got it. All right, that's it.
- 21:19That's our Brent right there. Okay, that's my fun facts.
- 21:22Let's go ahead and get into our good bad ugly and absurd
- 21:25discussion of this. So give me your good Jessie.
- 21:29What do you like about this thing?
- 21:31I think it's a really well-done story.
- 21:34I think all of the pieces we've in well with one another.
- 21:39I think it came out at exactly the right time in terms of where
- 21:43the world was and accepting essentially torture porn.
- 21:47Yeah, quote, unquote, I've talked on the show about my
- 21:51About that as a overarching sub-genre name.
- 21:56You don't like the name title. Without I think it just is used
- 21:59to write off. A lot of movies is like, oh,
- 22:02it's just torture porn when there is kind of weird.
- 22:04Lot of times, there's more, like, story than that.
- 22:07People are getting off on a torture, like, no man.
- 22:09Like, people are getting off on like the killing and just move.
- 22:11It's like, you're even getting off as it's just like you're
- 22:13enjoying that aspect. It's that it's the movie isn't
- 22:17shying away from the brutality aspects of her.
- 22:20Or yeah, it's like leaning into it.
- 22:23But this has like a lot of other things going on with it too.
- 22:26There's a lot of heart to it's real sad.
- 22:29It's a real turd. Tearjerker turd trick.
- 22:32I just I think it's good and also Sean burn is I mean he's a
- 22:39music fan. He did Devil's candy after this
- 22:42and that was man, that's an intense movie is amazing.
- 22:48I don't think he's done a third movie that I can think of But
- 22:51now where she would. Yeah, his I wish he would do
- 22:54that. He has done have been amazing.
- 22:56Yeah. I mean I think that this movie
- 22:58is super unsettling, the whole dynamic of her and her family,
- 23:05and like the dad, just like her, controlling everything, and it's
- 23:11just super unsettling. But then, like you do have those
- 23:14moments of why hardness with Jamie and his whole date to
- 23:19prom. But then again, it also still
- 23:20Ties into the overall story. Yeah.
- 23:23Which I think that's actually really nice because like yeah,
- 23:26you are giving us this like white bit of story but I like
- 23:30ultimately it's still really dark.
- 23:32Yeah, it's really light but also like the reason Mia is so fucked
- 23:35up is because she's dealing with the trauma of her brother being
- 23:38missing. Yeah, and you don't realize that
- 23:40until the annual oh shit. Okay, that explains this whole
- 23:43thing. This is actually been backed up.
- 23:45Yeah. Okay.
- 23:47So the bad, the dog does The dog dies is always the bad.
- 23:53It's not necessary. Yeah it really doesn't die like
- 23:57it dies, a slow death which is fucked up.
- 24:00Fuck you. Sean for that.
- 24:01Yeah. Yeah ugly.
- 24:07Can I just can I just let's get the incest elephant out of the
- 24:13room. Yeah.
- 24:15Yeah. I mean yeah that's pretty fucked
- 24:17up. I think the whole aspect of
- 24:20killing somebody's skull and turning them into a fucking
- 24:23zombie is really ugly. And really gnarly though like
- 24:27the I think the original whole thing about that though was like
- 24:31he was trying to going back to Jeffrey Dahmer, like the
- 24:33inspiration. He was trying to make like sex
- 24:35on bees which I don't think that that's what they're doing.
- 24:38They're just making zombies. I don't understand why they're
- 24:40making zombies. There's no there's not a why of
- 24:45Reasoning. There is sadistic their
- 24:47sadistic. Yeah but you don't get it.
- 24:50You don't really know but it is ugly.
- 24:52The Absurd the Absurd I think it's got to be.
- 24:57I want to say the amount of sex happening in cars in the school
- 25:00parking lot. Yeah, you're right.
- 25:02It's just like non-stop. Yeah.
- 25:05That's where you go to fuck in Australia.
- 25:08Yeah. You were in a small Australian
- 25:10Town. We've seen that there's miles
- 25:11and miles of road like just pull over the school.
- 25:15On the side of the road. Get away from your principal.
- 25:19Get away from Lola standing. Right?
- 25:21Next to the car. Yeah, like she's just standing
- 25:24there watching it. Yeah.
- 25:26That the whole thing is absurd. I mean, my whole absurd thing
- 25:29is, like, the ultimate P shyness scene, which I feel like I would
- 25:35be able to pee on command, like, I don't know, the man, I'd be
- 25:38like, okay, this mise at that point.
- 25:41Like, all bets are off. Like, it doesn't matter.
- 25:43Like you can maybe do it, but At the same time, that amount of
- 25:46pressure counting down 10 seconds to pee or else.
- 25:49I'm gonna know your dick to the chair and then when he finally
- 25:53does p, it's so dramatic. And she's like, it's crying.
- 25:58Come on this. Like it's just so weird, but I
- 26:01love it, I love it because of that.
- 26:04Okay, so what do you rate this thing?
- 26:08I'm going to give it an eight, giving it a.
- 26:10Yes. Okay.
- 26:13You know what? Going with the old seven.
- 26:17Okay, I think this is a really good movie.
- 26:20So we're starting with us 7.5 in 7.5.
- 26:23Same pain already. Let's get on into it.
- 26:26All right, we start off and we hear a radio changing stations
- 26:30and I just kind of like this little detail, is the production
- 26:33logos or flashing across the screen.
- 26:36Oh, hey speaking. Have sex in cars.
- 26:38It's him and his dad and his dad's like we can see what you
- 26:42back here in the back seat. Yeah like.
- 26:44Okay cool. So we're getting that started
- 26:46right away. So yeah, that's where conception
- 26:49begins. Yeah.
- 26:52Life begins at conception. Haha.
- 26:54Just kidding. There's a joke there somewhere.
- 26:58I wanted to put it together but yeah.
- 27:01He Brent and his dad are driving and Friends making fun of how
- 27:05old his dad's car is And they're just like, having normal like
- 27:09father-son stuff where they're like, teasing each other for
- 27:13being old / young. Yeah, it's good.
- 27:16Man sir. Yeah.
- 27:17It feels very likely. True to life.
- 27:19Yeah, definitely. And then all of a sudden, you
- 27:21see the shrillest person covered in blood, walking down the
- 27:24middle of the road, which surprises to them causes Brent
- 27:27to Swerve, but in the process of swerving, he ends up running
- 27:31into a tree, I think and ultimately killing his dad in
- 27:35the process. Yeah.
- 27:37So And later we see Brent in the hallway at its Locker his hair
- 27:40is longer and in a space. So you know he said yeah I mean
- 27:44it's like the same one. He looks like to me doesn't have
- 27:46to occur. It's a little bit more messy I
- 27:48would say and he's talking to his friend.
- 27:51Jamie he's like are you coming to the after party?
- 27:53Because now I'm probably just going to chill and smoke and he
- 27:55was like Holly is parents are out of town though, which all
- 27:58the more reason not to come to the after party after party is
- 28:02the parking lot. Come on apparently.
- 28:04Yeah. He's like you gotta run.
- 28:07Rain coat which I don't. I don't like referring to
- 28:11condoms as raincoats because I picture like a little yellow.
- 28:14Raincoat on a penis. Yeah, exactly.
- 28:19I can't, I can't with it. I'm like picturing.
- 28:21Like, there's the arms on the raincoat and they're flopping.
- 28:25Yeah, come on, man. You don't, you don't want that.
- 28:28That sounds awesome. Actually, this is like a good
- 28:30way to defuse. The whole is that do you think
- 28:35that's like actual Australians? Playing for.
- 28:38No. I mean, I heard it as you are,
- 28:40but do you think that that's Jamie, making that up on the
- 28:42spot? Or do you think that's like,
- 28:44Australians actually call it raincoats?
- 28:46I think it's just like a mixture of slaying different slang is
- 28:51more popular, different countries and also Jamie is has
- 28:56never had sex before. So he's just throwing whatever
- 28:59term out there. It's like, no, I don't have any
- 29:00rain coats and stop calling them ring.
- 29:03We're in a drought. So he sees the Jamie sees this
- 29:10girl Mia walk up and he goes and asks her to the dance that
- 29:15night. The dance is that night by the
- 29:17way? Yes.
- 29:19Is very last minute. It's probably one of my least
- 29:21favorite tropes in movies is like asking to the dance night
- 29:25of because you have to prepare for that.
- 29:28I mean normally people like, you know try and yeah coordinate an
- 29:34outfit together. Yeah.
- 29:35Like if you don't know if you're going to go to the dance.
- 29:37Um Even have a dress ready. Like Jamie is just like the type
- 29:40of dude, it's not super put together right now.
- 29:42Yeah, so Lola pops up and she asked Brent to go to dances
- 29:50Arrhenius, like sorry. I'm going with Holly, which is
- 29:53his girlfriend as we've already established in this conversation
- 29:56is like sorry. Like he's not a dick about it.
- 29:59He's about as nice as you could expect a 17 year old boy to be
- 30:02in that situation. Yeah I mean he could hit him
- 30:05like Hey everybody You asked me to the prom ha ha ha.
- 30:10I mean, it's like a the hallways empty, but it would still be
- 30:13interesting to have him screaming.
- 30:16So Holly's waiting for Brent, outside of school.
- 30:20She passed her driver's test. If she's going to drive him
- 30:22home, and he's like, gasps, you asked me to the dance and she's
- 30:26like, who and he won't tell her using this as a way to coerce XX
- 30:32/. Yeah.
- 30:33So they're, they're having some sex in the car Well, it was just
- 30:38an exact fucking a little psychos like just watching them.
- 30:42Yeah, nobody notices, I think would be hilarious.
- 30:45If there was like five other people.
- 30:47Like what? What if on the other side of the
- 30:49car? There's like five other people.
- 30:51Yeah. Generate they're like somebody
- 30:53like locked their keys in the car and like, people are trying
- 30:55to help them get the keys out and then they just like all like
- 30:58stop, and they're just kind of watching as Holly is dropping
- 31:05front off. She's like, I love you and he
- 31:08just kisses her. And then he gets out of the car
- 31:13and he says Lola Stone, which is not the response you want.
- 31:16When you tell your boyfriend that you love them, this is the
- 31:19girl that asked me out. So you got competition.
- 31:22Yeah, I got options, babe. Yeah, I don't love you.
- 31:26I've got options. So, his mom asks, how they're
- 31:31getting to the dance and she's like, Brent's, like, oh, Holly
- 31:36got her. Driver's license.
- 31:39And she's like, I'll give you money for a cab and he goes a
- 31:41still a car, it's still the car. Like you can tell that there's
- 31:45been he's feeling a lot of guilt because he was driving the car.
- 31:48When his dad died. His mom is probably just like,
- 31:51terrified of losing him, but he's taking it as him blaming
- 31:55her as her blaming him. Whoa.
- 31:57Yeah. I mean, I wonder who made the
- 32:00decision to stop driving, do you think that she is asking him to
- 32:04no longer drive or do you think that he doesn't?
- 32:07Want to drive after that anymore.
- 32:09Both, you think both are and her whole argument with that which I
- 32:14think that she has a cutting point a point because somebody
- 32:18just got their drivers license and now they're going to be
- 32:21driving. Yeah that person son experienced
- 32:22her a point was like oh but these people that drive cabs
- 32:25have experience they know what they're doing.
- 32:27And my mom has absolutely said that same type of thing to me
- 32:30when I was that age. Yeah, I mean, like, yes sense,
- 32:33you know, but to him he's an angsty teenager.
- 32:37Well, he's not an easy change it.
- 32:38He's a traumatized person. I saw this is minx.
- 32:42Well, yeah, I mean angst because he's a teenager but like, this
- 32:45is mostly just trauma. Yeah, it is, trauma, it's heavy
- 32:48stuff. I get it and I'm sets him that
- 32:50she doesn't have faith in him or his girlfriend and he just
- 32:55storms out because he's mad. He takes dog with him.
- 32:59Yeah. Or dog just designate some self
- 33:01emotional. Support creature?
- 33:03Yeah. Dogs.
- 33:03Like you. You're going to need like, I'm
- 33:05coming with you. You got a lot of Ins right now
- 33:07and I'm good at dealing with this also you suck at rock
- 33:10climbing. Yeah.
- 33:12My God. So they get to this fucking rock
- 33:15wall and he's like, okay, I'm climbing vertical, like a gym
- 33:19rock wall like an actual like vertical.
- 33:21Is that nice face? Yeah.
- 33:23In nature and he starts it. The dog gives them a head.
- 33:26Start as like, okay go ahead, go ahead.
- 33:29Yeah, you all what you get started in mountain goat like it
- 33:32just goes beep blip. And at the top of the guys, they
- 33:36probably my A theory is exactly my theory.
- 33:41Is they brought the dog there? Because okay, the dog is
- 33:44supposed to be in the scene and join him.
- 33:45For whatever reason fucking will have a dog here and then the dog
- 33:48starts jumping up the side of this mountain and they're like
- 33:51point the camera at that, get that shit on film.
- 33:53That's what the dog doesn't have a name in The Script because
- 33:56like shit job. Yeah, it just joined Brent.
- 33:59Well yeah. Okay, we got a dog now.
- 34:02Okay we only got one shot right here.
- 34:05We gotta get this shot right here so you have to walk an And
- 34:07then a dog just starts walking and right beside my God.
- 34:09Okay. And dogs are now.
- 34:11Yeah, go. We're going to kill this dog.
- 34:13Then it showed us up. Made him look like a fucking
- 34:16weenie. Yeah.
- 34:18Which this is. So he gets to the top after.
- 34:21He has his dramatic, angsty moment, flake hanging off, the
- 34:24rock face and almost dropping. This is something that bothered
- 34:29me last night because I'm like, are you just trying to draw out
- 34:32the time here? Because he's, I feel like he's
- 34:35also kind of He's tempted fate. He's yeah, it's a rock.
- 34:39He's like okay, I can sleep. I can just end it here and they
- 34:42starts to slip, but then whenever he starts to fall he
- 34:44realizes he doesn't want to fall.
- 34:45And it's crabs back, which I think, you know, they're showing
- 34:49one but he can climb. It's important.
- 34:51It's important that later. Maybe climb I have to climb is
- 34:55good as dogs, but he can't climb to.
- 34:58Like he doesn't truly want to die.
- 35:00He's just dealing with a lot of intense psychological shit.
- 35:04Yeah, I guess. So gets up top and it starts to
- 35:08smoke weed with dog. Yeah.
- 35:10He like, lays back the dog lays on his shoulder throw.
- 35:13Sweet the sweet. Yeah.
- 35:14And then he smokes, and he's listening to music.
- 35:18So he doesn't hear the dog barking, his mom calls and he
- 35:23ignores the call and then he's grabbed from behind.
- 35:26Yeah, some a sky, like the core form just like knocks him out
- 35:29with that. We see Jamie going to pick me up
- 35:32and my dude is wearing Sport coat with a tuxedo t-shirt on
- 35:38you. I think this is fucking
- 35:41ridiculous. This fucking guy, but it's, it's
- 35:44a somewhat. It's like perfect
- 35:46characterization for him, though.
- 35:47A plus to the word room, okay? Let's set this up here.
- 35:51All right, so he's picking up his prom date.
- 35:53He's got that outfit. All right?
- 35:54He's already won. The sport coat is the exact same
- 35:57color as his pants and if you're thinking, oh, black dress pants,
- 36:00black sport coat. They this man is unblocked With
- 36:06khaki with a black tuxedo shirt underneath.
- 36:10You want me to tell you something?
- 36:11This is me, this is me at that age right there.
- 36:14I had the same hairstyle. I was a little chubbier.
- 36:18This was me right here. So not only that.
- 36:21All right, so this guy is day, her dad is I'm guessing.
- 36:28At least she asleep. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:30He's a big-time policeman and he goes over there to pick her up
- 36:34with weed. He spoke in weed in the parking
- 36:37lot dum-dum. Just to say, I do like smoke a
- 36:39whole joint. Then he takes body spray and
- 36:42just swam. Yeah.
- 36:44He just smells like weed and acts.
- 36:48Yep, gets out of the car rings. The doorbell got flowers though.
- 36:52He's doing good. He's got that going for him, but
- 36:55then the door opens and then, the dog comes out and starts
- 36:58sniffing his nuts. Yeah.
- 37:00And the reason the dog sniff is no, this is because he still has
- 37:02weed in his pocket which he tries to explain to me in the
- 37:05car. Yes, yeah.
- 37:06I've We'd, it's not a hygiene issue and she goes, why you
- 37:09think I'm going to suck your dick?
- 37:11And he's like, no, he gave it away.
- 37:18Give it away to Brent. She's like I do you drink Coke.
- 37:21Go pull out. So yeah, the this guy's
- 37:27obviously these, you knows it. She's doing well prom, nice
- 37:31going. Great for him so far, so Carla.
- 37:36It's Brent's mom. She goes to look for Brent,
- 37:38can't see him anywhere and this is when Holly shows up and she's
- 37:43like, have you seen him? And it's like, oh this is a
- 37:46problem. So they're trying to figure out
- 37:50what they need to do. Like whether first step is going
- 37:52to be where they're going to look and then they here, we
- 37:55bring my God, this fucking scene right here and then they open up
- 37:59the front door and the dog is crying to the door.
- 38:04Yeah, I don't want to talk about the hole.
- 38:06Except too much. So yeah, they got the dog, they
- 38:08try and take it to the vet and the dog dies.
- 38:10On the way, there is really sad and it sucks.
- 38:12I hate this. So yeah, that's done that.
- 38:16So they know that something's up and they call me a Jamie's
- 38:20dates, Dad, and tell him that Brent's gone.
- 38:25Don't know where he's not or where he's at.
- 38:26He's like, well, he's run away before and she has willed, they
- 38:29got the dog yet. He's like, what do you mean?
- 38:31They got the dog? The dog was stabbed, is what
- 38:33they tell him, so he's going to Go look for him and goes out
- 38:37there to investigate, Whoever has abducted.
- 38:42Brent stops for chicken, which we, we watch Texas Chainsaw
- 38:49next-generation last night, which it was very that.
- 38:52Like she's got Renee Zellweger in her trunk and she's just goes
- 38:58and gets pizza from the drive-thru on her way home.
- 39:01Yeah. Except that whole scene was so
- 39:02much more ridiculous because they like stop and like get out
- 39:05of the car and Being at that here you gets chicken and he
- 39:08goes home. Yeah, and he stops to pick up a
- 39:11dead possum. Oh yes.
- 39:13End of the Road. Some roadkill.
- 39:15When he pulls up Lala's like is he dead?
- 39:19And then they hear his heart beating just like, Okay, cool.
- 39:22So in her room, she's got a scrapbook of for various
- 39:26victims, over the year. Her dad brings in a dress and
- 39:29she's like, wait, tell me how it looks and she just changes in
- 39:32front of her dad. And this is a very like male
- 39:35gaze a shot. But Not in a like gratuitous
- 39:37kind of way. It's showing how inappropriate
- 39:40the relationship is and okay. Here's the thing which I think
- 39:44that I mean you get this any time, anything like this happens
- 39:49with the dad. The dad is super uncomfortable.
- 39:51He doesn't want any of this. However, she has twins it, but
- 39:55he doesn't want to want it. I don't think that he wants it.
- 39:58I don't know. He seems super uncomfortable.
- 40:00I think he just wants his daughter to be happy and she
- 40:03just fucking runs the show there.
- 40:05She's such. Such a psychopath.
- 40:07She has him. Mike wrapped around her finger.
- 40:10She's got her song playing. I'm not pretty enough.
- 40:14Pretty also I had the same shoes but in Black.
- 40:19Yeah. Say yeah.
- 40:20Charlie is a little satin heels with a little bow on the back.
- 40:23So I was dressing like, Jamie, you're dressing like a little.
- 40:25Yeah, pretty much couple of winners right there.
- 40:29So Brent wakes up and he is tied to a chair and he is in somehow
- 40:33a nicer outfit than Jamie who is free and of his own, volition
- 40:39out in public. How did they get his
- 40:41measurements just? Right?
- 40:43He's looking pretty nice. Well, was Gotta Type, you know
- 40:46what I mean? Like, all of the dudes in the
- 40:48pictures have a very similar like that's true.
- 40:51They are the same. I think this is like the most
- 40:54grungy. Well, I got so far though.
- 40:56I wish they'd have like a little detail of like young.
- 40:59Her pictures of her, dad up and see that.
- 41:01He looks like all of her victims so far.
- 41:04Yeah, that would have been because I guarantee he's like
- 41:07tall and slender and yeah just like all of them.
- 41:10Okay so basically What's Happening Here is she's they've
- 41:14set up their own prom and okay let me ask you this.
- 41:17Do you think if he had said yes to her at the school?
- 41:22Do you think that they would have went to the normal prompt?
- 41:24Or do you think that everything like this would have still
- 41:26played out? I think I would have still
- 41:27played out this. You think so?
- 41:29Yes, I think the getting him there would have been different
- 41:33because it would just been like oh he comes to pick her up.
- 41:35That's what I was thinking. It was just like a ploy to get
- 41:37her it was gonna end up this way.
- 41:38Anyway, okay. I was kind of thinking the same
- 41:41but then that yeah because I mean at the same time and you
- 41:44know how I know Because they're evil and you know how I know
- 41:47they're evil. They're drinking milk.
- 41:52Yes. Jesse's milk Theory proves true
- 41:55once again because at the dinner table here there's milk and so
- 42:00much milk, so much milk. There's fried chicken and also a
- 42:04character that they refer to as bright eyes but is consistently
- 42:09in my notes as mombi mom, be zombie Mom.
- 42:13Oh nice, thank you, I like Bright Eyes.
- 42:16Guys, I think it's like, I think it's kind of funny that they
- 42:19named her Bright Eyes. Where did that?
- 42:21Cause I'm so cute. When was she turned into a
- 42:23zombie? Why do they call her Bright
- 42:24Eyes? Do they remember her real name?
- 42:26My, my theory is, I think that that was the dad's pet name for
- 42:31her back whenever they were still together, because I don't
- 42:34think she ever refers to her that way.
- 42:36I think she's like, I think she does say it a couple times.
- 42:41Maybe. I don't know, either way, she's
- 42:43not a fan of her so I don't think that's That name is too
- 42:46nice for when that she would come up for her.
- 42:49Yeah, they put bleach in to Brent's throat.
- 42:52So he can't scream. Yeah.
- 42:55Like a fuckin syringe and just shoot it right into his neck and
- 42:58he got no longer talk to us, which is the thing I never knew
- 43:01I needed to be afraid of in life, but there we go.
- 43:03Yep, it's a thing. They take end of school.
- 43:06Dance photos. Yeah.
- 43:08And dad makes her take a picture with bright eyes.
- 43:13Yeah. And you see like Louis Like
- 43:16super jealous of her. Like there's like little moments
- 43:18because like she pulls her hair. Yeah.
- 43:20Stuff like that. Even though she's a zombie.
- 43:21Apparently it still hurts. Like yeah.
- 43:25I feel like she's like less of a zombie but probably because
- 43:28she's been domesticated. Zombie is a domestic?
- 43:31A zombie yet? It's like a pet.
- 43:32Yeah, so meanwhile Jamie and Mia are in the parking lot.
- 43:36They're smoking drinking and head-banging in their car.
- 43:39That's yep. That's this.
- 43:41We just get little moments of levity with the Judaism and till
- 43:44until me has started. Being like oh yeah, by the way,
- 43:47I have PTSD. Yeah.
- 43:51Okay. So then they're eating cuts back
- 43:53to whoa and Brent and the dad they're eating chicken.
- 43:57Whoaa gets the little Wishbone and she split with her dad and
- 44:03he's like, well my wish is for you anyway and she goes yeah
- 44:07it's so fucking weird. Yeah, there's a there's an
- 44:10uncomfortable tension between them uncomfortable like as
- 44:14audience members there too comfortable.
- 44:16All in, this is one of the weirdest things and it makes me
- 44:20uncomfortable for like a stupid reason.
- 44:21But like it's whenever she's trying to feed Brent the chicken
- 44:26and she takes like the chicken wing and she just Swagger's it
- 44:30all over his face. So greasy.
- 44:32Yes, exactly. I think about that.
- 44:34I'm like, oh my God, that's just grease all over your face.
- 44:37And, you know, this got all, he's smelling right now is like
- 44:40that. Like he's like on top of
- 44:42everything else. I smell like a fryer.
- 44:44Yeah, and you guys have Fucking milk here again, the shit's
- 44:48nasty, so she makes him look her finger because she's like, is it
- 44:54finger-licking good? Which is who it was so
- 44:58uncomfortable. And then he like in like you
- 45:01like and then she's like once or to switch you can hack old when
- 45:09she said that last night. I get it.
- 45:11This is why I got that 15 plus 1s or 2's.
- 45:14Come on. Like yeah.
- 45:16Yeah, I want to say that the Italian next time I'm like okay
- 45:18so once or to the button to go out ones or twos and he you know
- 45:24gestures that he just needs to pee.
- 45:26And so she fucking chugs a whole glass of milk and tips.
- 45:31His pants, and puts his penis in this Milky cup and says, go and
- 45:38ultimate P shyness kicks in. And then she says, Daddy get the
- 45:42hammer and a nail and she goes, if you don't go in 10 seconds,
- 45:46He's going to nail it to the chair.
- 45:47What is it that she says? Like, what are you telling
- 45:50porkies? Are you telling Porky pies,
- 45:53which lies while eyes? I have no idea Porky pies.
- 45:57I like that, though. That's such a cute.
- 45:59It's such a cute way to refer to lies, but like, I mean, are you
- 46:03telling Porky pies? And that's like, I'm getting the
- 46:05hammer, no Porky pies in here, so no getting the hammer.
- 46:09So he gets a hammer slams it on the table, and then he goes and
- 46:13grabs a nail. And then the countdown I'm Tim,
- 46:16he stands behind them. What the hammer and then now
- 46:19getting ready to pin it to the chair, right at the tenth
- 46:22second. He starts to pee.
- 46:24Yeah, and then she's like, oh, he's crying.
- 46:28And then she basically threatens to bite it off and then he kicks
- 46:31her, he has gotten his hands untied somehow, because they
- 46:36these people suck at tying ropes because this is like, the first
- 46:39of, I think three separate times.
- 46:41He manages to untie himself. Yeah.
- 46:46He goes hopping out and the dad, is it first concern?
- 46:51Because Lola, got kicked backwards into a table and then
- 46:53he goes running after, Brent doesn't see him Brent's hiding
- 46:56underneath the car. So once he gets into the car and
- 47:00searched the driveway to look for him, he sees Brent, Brent,
- 47:03climbs up a tree and then they throw stones at him until he
- 47:07falls. I get it.
- 47:10But like, come on man. You get in the tree.
- 47:13It's over. What are you doing?
- 47:14You can't go anywhere. You're just stuck.
- 47:17You was really like You can't talk.
- 47:23It's even worse because like he gets knocked down from the tree
- 47:27and he falls onto the car. Yeah they re time and then this
- 47:31time they nail his feet to the floor.
- 47:33Using steak Knife. Yes.
- 47:36So fucked up and then lol is like screaming at him to cry and
- 47:41he just basically refuses. I respect.
- 47:44Yeah, I do, too. It's very like walking away from
- 47:46the explosion without Yang accepts.
- 47:48Like, he's like, yeah. Okay, so Cuts back to me is Dad.
- 47:54He's investigating The Disappearance and he's going
- 47:57over to where he was last known to be.
- 47:59So it's hangout spot where he poorly climbed up the rock wall.
- 48:03Yeah and he finds his pot and what I wrote is an iPod but is
- 48:09realistically probably more like the Zoom or something.
- 48:12The Zune is that something where yeah Suze were this era?
- 48:17They were, but they were already kind of on their way out.
- 48:21I forget what I had. Mine wasn't a name brand
- 48:23anything but it was pretty cool. It had it had decent memory.
- 48:26Yeah. That a lot of music on mine.
- 48:28Good. Ol MP3 players man.
- 48:30Yeah it was a time where that was necessary.
- 48:35Okay, so me as Dad, yay, he brings the stuff back to the mom
- 48:41to show. Okay, he's something happens.
- 48:42Somebody's kidnapped them is shits gone.
- 48:44Yeah. And Holly and Carla kind of
- 48:46having a heart-to-heart moment like Way too, mature of a
- 48:50conversation, anything for the fact that Holly is 17.
- 48:55Yeah, but she, you know, she's straight up to because Carlos
- 48:58like she thinks I blame him for his death death, and she was
- 49:00well day you because she's obviously heard Brent side of
- 49:02things where he feels the brunt of the burden for it.
- 49:08She doesn't answer. She is.
- 49:09Yeah, she gets interrupted to be fair, but she doesn't, it was a
- 49:13pause there for a while, so I don't know.
- 49:14It's possible that she does blame them, either, that whole
- 49:18dynamic. To be so complicated.
- 49:20I can't even imagine what the two of them were going through.
- 49:23Yeah. I mean, I'm sure I mean, I don't
- 49:25know. Yeah it's fucked up.
- 49:28So Lola shows, Brent, her scrapbook.
- 49:31It goes back to when she was in fucking preschool, man.
- 49:35Yeah. What the fuck who?
- 49:38Um, and it's all like you said, it's all people that kind of
- 49:41look like Brent and Lola and her dad are laughing over.
- 49:46This thing they sound Like me and you showing people pictures
- 49:51of our pets. Yeah.
- 49:52It's like they, yeah. They like, they talk about the
- 49:55one kid that would himself. It's like a sign that Talia like
- 49:59pooping on the couch and her sleep, after her first road trip
- 50:02link and then they end up getting to one that was Timmy
- 50:06Valentine, The One That Got Away which you see him and you know
- 50:10should that's the guy from the opening of the movie that they
- 50:12had to swerve around and just in case we don't get the message.
- 50:15We see Brent's POV flashbacks. Yeah, swerving.
- 50:19Timmy Valentine Valentine. If you're wondering yes, same
- 50:22Valentine as Mia. Valentine at the dance with
- 50:25Jamie and chief of police, mr. Valentine who's currently
- 50:30examining this? Disappearance.
- 50:31Yes. All tied together.
- 50:34So, well, decides, she wants to do a drawing, and to her
- 50:39drawings are taking a fork and carving out something on
- 50:45somebody's chest Halloween. Echo Lantern.
- 50:49Carving must be really interesting in the stone
- 50:52household. The thing that really fucks me
- 50:54up with this is It's a fork. It's not even a knife but like
- 50:58that makes it even worse because you just know she's like, going
- 51:01over it again, exactly against. So fucked up.
- 51:05What did she write on him? I can't remember.
- 51:07It's like a harder and it says LS.
- 51:10All right. Okay for Lola.
- 51:11Stone and then to throw salt in the wound.
- 51:15They throw salt, he's salting multiple times.
- 51:19She's like, they uncork the salt bottle and it's like a big
- 51:23fucking think of salt and she just, yeah, it's, it's very
- 51:28upsetting to watch. Meanwhile, we're gonna come back
- 51:31to me and Jamie, and he's like, you want to go inside.
- 51:36Maybe we should get some food. Just like what you're sick of
- 51:38me. Already has.
- 51:38No, no, it's just, you know, we're here and so she climbs out
- 51:42of the car and immediately Falls because she is, but yes, she is
- 51:48not dealing with Her stuff very well.
- 51:50Yeah, that's that's the theme of this movie is family is not
- 51:54processing their trauma. So yeah, they're walking in Cuts
- 52:00back to she's now. Been crowned queen of the dance.
- 52:05Father, I love her like shaky. Like, pulling her hands up to
- 52:10her face, like crying. Yeah.
- 52:13It's a very deranged version of Sandra Bullock in Miss
- 52:18Congeniality. What are you were?
- 52:19She's watching the Crowder's that Crowder's the winners
- 52:22getting Crown. Yes America yeah.
- 52:28So she's Queen Brisbane Crown. King already.
- 52:31Funny thing though is the dad is still wearing a crown.
- 52:34I like to think that he was made prints.
- 52:36I like that. They're playing the song.
- 52:41It's the song again and she's like, I always wanted this to be
- 52:44my wedding song. What that's a song about not
- 52:48being. I'm good enough.
- 52:50That's weird. Yeah.
- 52:53But like they're dancing which they're not really because
- 52:56France nailed to the floor and that's just like sprinkling pink
- 53:01glitter over the president's head.
- 53:03So this man is bloody beaten wearing, a tissue paper crown
- 53:10and now he's got pink glitter in all of his hair.
- 53:13Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:15It's a it's quite a scene man. They have A nice little dance
- 53:19card. Meanwhile, it cuts back to the
- 53:21actual prom and me and Jamie are dancing and Mia starts, just
- 53:26straight up grabbing his dick right there in the middle of the
- 53:29Dance Floor. Everybody's looking she snaps.
- 53:32I one of the girls that what are you looking at?
- 53:36Ya. And then I'm guessing.
- 53:39I'm gonna say the principal. Think it's the principal.
- 53:41He's got principle of. I arrived.
- 53:42He does. And he's like, okay, if you want
- 53:44to do this, you got to go somewhere else.
- 53:46Yeah. So they leave.
- 53:48Yeah, they were leave Lola. Tell us.
- 53:50Brent that he is not hurt Prince.
- 53:53This is why I think the dad is Crown Prince because she's like,
- 53:56you daddy, you are. And then they are.
- 54:00I this is the best directing decision.
- 54:02Sean bring Academy because they are about to kiss when they look
- 54:06over at Brent and realize that he's up to something.
- 54:09Okay so brilliant by the way, has this necklace and on the
- 54:12necklace As a Razor. Yeah.
- 54:14Because earlier arming yeah. When he was having sex with
- 54:17hallway before you got, He he had been cutting himself so he
- 54:22has managed to get that loose while they're dancing and he's
- 54:25like, cutting through the ropes. Yeah.
- 54:28We see Holly and she calls her mom and she doesn't get an
- 54:31answer and she's just sad and she's alone and you feel bad for
- 54:35her. You don't know what her family
- 54:36Dynamic is but yet those are she's not very supported either.
- 54:39Yeah, there's something there's something, there's something you
- 54:41don't even gonna go there. But yeah, she's even got like,
- 54:44she's not even like hey having a bad day.
- 54:47Call me back when you get this just like her.
- 54:48Right. Well hope you're enjoying your
- 54:50trip. Sorry it's a different time
- 54:52zone. Where you're at.
- 54:53Love you. Yeah.
- 54:54Okay. All right.
- 54:57Lola and her dad open this for this trap door in the floor and
- 55:03they feed and water, the zombie horde.
- 55:06They the possum that they picked up on the way.
- 55:08Yeah. Yeah.
- 55:10Just some zombies down in their basement so I'm like, so yeah.
- 55:12Now we have zombie. Yeah now this is a this is
- 55:15officially a zombie movie more so than it was with bright eyes.
- 55:18Because with bread, as your kind of like, what is going on with
- 55:20that, it's confirmed. Now back to the prom parking lot
- 55:26at school, parking lots x is being had, Jamie and me are
- 55:29going at it. But again, the principle knocks
- 55:32on the window and he's like, um, I didn't mean yeah parking.
- 55:35Yeah. Get off of school property.
- 55:37Yeah, they do. At least have the wherewithal to
- 55:40look embarrassed. Yes, they might have actually
- 55:44sobered up a little bit in this moment, which is probably good
- 55:47considering Jamie's driving. I would imagine he's so drunk
- 55:50and high smoke. A lot of weed, drink a lot,
- 55:53they're pretty fucked. No business operating a vehicle.
- 55:56So Lola says that this is her first Drilling and her dad's
- 56:02giving her pointers, but she still like kind of Skips off his
- 56:05forehead. The first try and he's like, two
- 56:07hands lean into it. I mean, it's like you don't even
- 56:10know what's happening here. It's they just grab the drill
- 56:12and she's like, all right, it's my first time and the dad just
- 56:14hold him down. He's like, okay, they're about
- 56:16to drill his head. I'm going to say this is one of
- 56:18The most upsetting effects I've ever seen in a movie and it's
- 56:21because we see we don't actually see the drill going into school
- 56:24or anything, we see it from behind and we just see this
- 56:28white dust coming off of his. It's, I mean that's what would
- 56:31happen. So, it's just, it's so up, sit
- 56:33there, something about that imagery.
- 56:35That is so upsetting to me, and it's so effective here.
- 56:39Yeah, it's see. This is the thing, like,
- 56:42normally in a movie like this, you'd be like, okay, our weed
- 56:44guy, he's not going to get drilled ahead.
- 56:45They're not gonna actually do it.
- 56:47No, she drills. A hole in his head and they're
- 56:50boiling water now. Yeah.
- 56:51So they go to get the water and she misses and ends up burning
- 56:55her dad and she's like, can you make the hole bigger?
- 56:58I need it to be bigger and she like, puts on this very little
- 57:01girl voice because it's open again now.
- 57:02Can you make it bigger? All right, fine.
- 57:06You can tell like you see frustration.
- 57:08He's like fine. I'll make a bigger Jesus Christ.
- 57:10Well to be fair he's got like second-degree burns on his arm
- 57:13right now. That's that water was meant to
- 57:15boil a brain. It definitely could just get a
- 57:17little bit. That's true.
- 57:18Here. So Brent takes the moment as the
- 57:23Dad starts work towards him and he slashes out of them and he
- 57:26ends up slashing his face and he gets up and he's pulling the
- 57:30knives out of his feet and they're fighting.
- 57:32And then he takes one of the knives and he stabs him in the
- 57:35neck a lot. A whole lot which, you know what
- 57:41Fair do it at it compared. Yeah.
- 57:43Very Cell Block Tango. He had it via the Cellar.
- 57:47Door is still open. Open.
- 57:49And then he just pushes him in there and then the zombie swarm
- 57:52and start eating him. Yeah.
- 57:54And Brenton will learn now fighting because they're like,
- 57:57she's upset about it. And so she pushes Brenton now,
- 58:00he's like he pushes him over there and he's just like in
- 58:03display be like holy shit, this actually zombies and so he
- 58:06didn't see what was so yeah for yeah, he didn't know what was
- 58:08happening. That's guy him in shocks or she
- 58:11just likes takes that opportunity to just push him
- 58:13down there too. So now he's in there with the
- 58:15zombies. Yeah, but she's like also pissed
- 58:18so she's like In various things down there like the bucket,
- 58:22flashlight random stuff because she's just like crashing out.
- 58:25Yeah so Brent gets closed in there and he's fighting off the
- 58:30zombies. It is convenient here.
- 58:31I'm not really mad and throw all of the tools you're going to
- 58:34need to survive. It's she's not thinking
- 58:37straight. She's she's never had.
- 58:39She's never had a zombie climb out of there.
- 58:41I'm talking mostly from like a script writing perspective, like
- 58:44okay, here. All of his tools.
- 58:45I mean, it works, I get it, I believe it.
- 58:48But at the same, Same time saying okay how can we Jamie
- 58:51drops me off at her house and she kind of like hugs them and
- 58:55she's got his sport jacket on and the dad checks in on her and
- 58:59she's like sobbing and she's like why haven't you found him
- 59:02yet? And she's talking about her
- 59:04brother. Yeah and yeah.
- 59:07So now you realize I wish. Okay.
- 59:08That's that was her brother. Yeah.
- 59:10Yeah. She's just not handling that.
- 59:12Well yeah. Lola.
- 59:15Kills her mom P. She's A reason to keep she only
- 59:19kept her around because she thought it made her dad happy
- 59:22before. That's you kind of really get
- 59:24the impression of that and she's like, well I don't have any need
- 59:26for her anymore, so I'm just mad.
- 59:28Yeah, kill something Now. Yep, this is where Holly
- 59:32remembers what Brent said about what was down.
- 59:34So she calls mr. Valentine who has no problem
- 59:37with his phone, ringing of the night because nobody in this
- 59:39house sleeves because they are all traumatized.
- 59:44I cannot emphasize enough how much trauma is going through all
- 59:48of the Well, in this movie, except for Jamie, who now
- 59:51probably also has trauma because he got groped against his will
- 59:53at the school dance. I think that he was into the, I
- 59:57think that was at the timer place that he wouldn't know.
- 1:00:00He was super uncomfortable. Yeah, no, it's still that wasn't
- 1:00:03consenting. What happened afterwards was
- 1:00:06concerned? Oh yeah.
- 1:00:09Yeah so it's just it's just feel around.
- 1:00:11Yeah so she yeah so she calls them so he was like all right
- 1:00:15cool. That's a lead.
- 1:00:17I will go there so he was yeah he we lose he peeks in and he's
- 1:00:22like hum. There's a handmade Banner
- 1:00:27balloons and a lot of blood. So we're just going to go ahead
- 1:00:30and bust open the store real quick.
- 1:00:33So he goes in there and Brent hears him and so he starts
- 1:00:38throwing One stuff up at the trapdoor, to get the to get mr.
- 1:00:42Valentine's attention. And so, he opens up the chapter
- 1:00:44and he goes Brett. And then at that, exact moment
- 1:00:47close behind him. Bam.
- 1:00:49Yeah. And bring can't see anything to
- 1:00:51warn him, because he can't ya, because he's like, yeah, so
- 1:00:56little is like, I'm going to go stab your mommy in the neck,
- 1:01:01like, you did to my daddy and then I'm going to go stab Holly
- 1:01:04in the hot like, you did to me, you You.
- 1:01:09You said he wasn't your prints Lola?
- 1:01:11Yeah, bitches it, which is it? You broke up with him first?
- 1:01:16Yes, he was always gonna die. I'm just gonna say, it wasn't a
- 1:01:19very amicable breakup either. She didn't handle it materially.
- 1:01:23No, she did not. So Lola is walking down the
- 1:01:29road. I think it's funny by the way
- 1:01:31that she's doesn't even drive. She's like I'm gonna cry.
- 1:01:34I've just walk down the road and seeing I'm not but I've got my
- 1:01:37own radio. It's a nice carry, her heels.
- 1:01:39In her hand, which means up until this point, she's been
- 1:01:41wearing the heels and then at some point down the road, she's
- 1:01:44like I kick these suckers off and Holly at this point is like,
- 1:01:51well, it's weird that I've never heard back from mr.
- 1:01:53Valentine. So maybe I'll go do some of my
- 1:01:55own investigating and she drives up and Lola sneaks off to the
- 1:01:59side of the road and when Holly's car gets close enough,
- 1:02:01she does the Scrapbook at it. This is a cool scene.
- 1:02:04So, I mean, it's like a long shot of whoaa walking down the
- 1:02:08road. And then, in the Background.
- 1:02:09You can see her car slowly come down, which I always like this
- 1:02:12types of scenes. It reminds me of Jeepers,
- 1:02:16Creepers, the opening of that. And then while Holly's going,
- 1:02:21what the fuck just happened? Lola opens the door and like the
- 1:02:24music. All of a sudden just cuts and
- 1:02:26it's just them like fighting and struggling.
- 1:02:29And I mean, she's got a knife. Yeah.
- 1:02:30Trying to like stabber and it turns into way more of a fight
- 1:02:34than it should have been. And what I like about this is
- 1:02:36like that setting cut in the music like I feel like in a
- 1:02:39different show or movie it would have been like a comedic cut
- 1:02:42almost. Yeah, definitely.
- 1:02:44Yeah. I could see that.
- 1:02:45But here, it just feels like this is what I would actually
- 1:02:49sound like if you were fighting for your life In This Moment.
- 1:02:51Oh yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:51The actual sounds. You would hear and that's a bit
- 1:02:53chilling. Yeah.
- 1:02:55Yeah. It works for you.
- 1:02:56Yeah. So Brent has taken the
- 1:02:58opportunity because whoa, just kept sin and embodies the stack
- 1:03:02and he killed all of us. All killed, all the zombies.
- 1:03:04I'm going to say it. I know it was self-preservation,
- 1:03:07but I'm also going to call these Mercy.
- 1:03:09Eels. I two birds, one stone.
- 1:03:10Yeah, definitely. They're like really, they're
- 1:03:13super skinny and, like, they've just been in darkness, which,
- 1:03:17you know, I just think of the distant, there aren't those?
- 1:03:21And they've got like, matted hair his.
- 1:03:23They've just been there all filthy, and it's just, yeah, so
- 1:03:27yeah, he's stacked. The bodies high enough to climb
- 1:03:30up on them and think he's got the bucket and he puts it on
- 1:03:33top. And that's enough friend that
- 1:03:34jump up there and he's climbed out.
- 1:03:36Yeah, it's in the cop car. Yep.
- 1:03:38And he drives off. The road as he's doing that.
- 1:03:41He makes it to where they are. Holly jumps in the car.
- 1:03:45Yeah, he almost hits Holly swerves.
- 1:03:48Doesn't go off the road. Yeah.
- 1:03:51And then she gets in the car and then he does hit Lola.
- 1:03:55Yes, straight up runs a little over.
- 1:03:56Yeah, they have a moment, Holly's crying.
- 1:03:59They hug each other. And then we see Lola's crawling.
- 1:04:04Her hand is like, like a Anton Yelich.
- 1:04:08And Green room where it's like, barely hanging on and she's just
- 1:04:12like crawling and then he just like backs up crawling about as
- 1:04:18well as Brent climbed up that rock wall like yeah.
- 1:04:22Yeah, yes. So yeah.
- 1:04:24He and I forgot that actually showed her head hit the car.
- 1:04:29Yeah. Because like it's it's just
- 1:04:31like, you think it's going to cut away before anything happens
- 1:04:33but then it cuts the Blackness and there's like JK here.
- 1:04:37Yeah. Anyways.
- 1:04:39And then we do end on kind of a nice note, because they drive
- 1:04:43home and Carlos there. And she's just so excited to see
- 1:04:46him and she pulls Holly in for the hug too.
- 1:04:49Yeah, they are. There's something so nice about
- 1:04:51that where you can't tell necessarily what the dynamic is
- 1:04:55between all three of them and between Carl and Holly and we
- 1:04:59know all these Mom and Dad aren't Arendt like so her just
- 1:05:03like pulling her in that moment to they've all gone through hell
- 1:05:06and they're coming out the other side together.
- 1:05:08The only person that had a good time in this movie is Jamie.
- 1:05:11Yeah. Like I mean at the end of this
- 1:05:14yeah me has been morning and her brother.
- 1:05:17Her dad fucking died too. Yeah.
- 1:05:19I don't even want to think about the Valentine family and this
- 1:05:21moment. Yeah, that's just.
- 1:05:22That's too much to deal with always her trauma.
- 1:05:25And never got brought up or resolved.
- 1:05:28So she's so. And I mean, Brent, once again,
- 1:05:32cut behind the wheel and ended up ultimately running somebody
- 1:05:35over again or go to killing somebody.
- 1:05:37So, Just a fucked-up ending of a movie except if you Jamie.
- 1:05:42Yeah, you had a pretty Kick-Ass prom.
- 1:05:45He's like I got high, I got drunk, I had six.
- 1:05:50Okay, you know what? I'm gonna bump it up to an eight
- 1:05:53point. Two, five eight point zero.
- 1:05:55Yeah. Okay.
- 1:05:57I just think it's a really, like, solid on movie.
- 1:06:00It doesn't go on any longer than it needs you.
- 1:06:02Some of the shots linger a bit, but I'm okay with it.
- 1:06:04Yeah, it's artistic and it's in its choices.
- 1:06:07It's unsettling. Saying I don't feel like it's
- 1:06:11ever. I guess things may be drawn out
- 1:06:14but I don't feel like anything's ever gone too long or you know I
- 1:06:19got I think it's perfectly fine. It is a very upsetting movie but
- 1:06:23that's definitely what they were going for.
- 1:06:25So I'm not going to fault it for them.
- 1:06:27I'm keeping -7 though. Okay, so then we're going up to
- 1:06:30a seven point six six, two five 7.65.
- 1:06:37All right. Okay, I've got a review course.
- 1:06:41Hold on. Oh, Talia.
- 1:06:43Oh yeah, was asleep in this movie started and she will sleep
- 1:06:47barking, and she got like, these massive Shivers, right?
- 1:06:51One dog joint. It was bad.
- 1:06:53She was having bad nightmares and then we had to pause halfway
- 1:06:56through because it was their dinner time.
- 1:06:58And then after that, she was checking on you and she was just
- 1:07:01like licking you a lot. Making sure you were.
- 1:07:02Okay. So I think she respects that
- 1:07:05this movie was intense, but it's always an automatic point.
- 1:07:08Action for Talia. When a dog dies me too.
- 1:07:12It's a 66. Zoe was wandering around.
- 1:07:19She was very hangry. She only came into the living
- 1:07:23room to yell at us about feeding her.
- 1:07:26She was very upset. She was.
- 1:07:27Yeah, she was upset and like, she's like, oh, and there's no
- 1:07:30explosion. Yeah, fuck you guys.
- 1:07:32Yeah. So, she did, she didn't watch
- 1:07:33this movie didn't know, I guess she did not.
- 1:07:36Didn't care for it. Hmm.
- 1:07:38Okay. Oh now I will oh, you know, we
- 1:07:40still have so much fucking shit to talk about before we get to
- 1:07:42reviews. Travis, what would you change
- 1:07:44that? Was going to say, we need to
- 1:07:45change something that I would change from this.
- 1:07:52Hmm, do you? I guess it depends.
- 1:07:55It's your preference. I kind of want an explanation
- 1:07:58for why they're doing these zombies, why?
- 1:08:00They only have 3 zombies. When they've had so many victims
- 1:08:04in the past, if this thing has been going since preschool, To
- 1:08:07imagine that. The zombies have also been
- 1:08:09cannibalizing each other. I feel like you would see that
- 1:08:12though down there, I don't, and I feel like, is there a process
- 1:08:17to them being so selective of who they want to keep?
- 1:08:21I'm I'm okay with the amount of explanation we get.
- 1:08:25I guess is kind of and I think especially where we're coming
- 1:08:30from Brent's POV with it. This is as much explanation as
- 1:08:33he got and I think that's one of the great things about them,
- 1:08:36basically taking away. Away his speech.
- 1:08:38So early on is it's not him, just going.
- 1:08:41Why are you doing this? Like we get exactly as much
- 1:08:43information as Lola. Feels like sharing to him and
- 1:08:47you know that's true. That's right.
- 1:08:48I like it. I do like that.
- 1:08:50If you think of it like that, like yeah, he they take that
- 1:08:52away. So he can't you can't have that.
- 1:08:54You just have to watch the events.
- 1:08:55Yeah, you just see them being exactly a sadistic as they feel
- 1:08:59like being. Yeah.
- 1:09:00And it doesn't feel like that. Very contrived, like, why are
- 1:09:02you doing this? Okay.
- 1:09:07All right. No.
- 1:09:08Okay. That's that's a who did you
- 1:09:10relate to Jamie? Yeah, I mean I kind of looked
- 1:09:13like him. Yeah, I'm going to relate to Mia
- 1:09:19because I am occasionally. Sad Drinker.
- 1:09:24Okay. Only occasionally.
- 1:09:30Because just because you're Cedric.
- 1:09:33Okay. And then do we have a new
- 1:09:36tagline for this new tagline? Mmm, I need a date.
- 1:09:40Like I need a hole in the head. Love it.
- 1:09:43There we go. All right.
- 1:09:47Okay review. Okay so I pulled a review from
- 1:09:53IMDb head so 1 out of 10. Oh boy person reviewed.
- 1:09:57It May 23. 2011 so pretty Soon, after it came out.
- 1:10:00Okay? Okay.
- 1:10:00The title is so bad. It compelled me to sign up and
- 1:10:03review. Oh boy.
- 1:10:06All right. I watched this film because my
- 1:10:09parents put it on though, they don't always choose my cup of
- 1:10:12tea. This Choice was frankly.
- 1:10:14Bizarre, this film was classed as horror but it's just
- 1:10:18gratuitous Gore. That doesn't really scare
- 1:10:21Psychopathic. Whoa!
- 1:10:22Whoa! Is just too ridiculous.
- 1:10:24And her supposedly scary taunting gets boring.
- 1:10:26Very quickly. There are several scenes Go on
- 1:10:29for far too long and are punctuated by a poorly.
- 1:10:32Put together alternate story, that is only very Loosely linked
- 1:10:36to the rest of the plot. It's, it's pretty densely link
- 1:10:40but yeah, but it's kind of loose.
- 1:10:42But I mean, it is intense till I get what they're saying.
- 1:10:46Speaking of which the scenes just seem to happen with no
- 1:10:49build up, suspense or backstory, I'm struggling to think of any
- 1:10:53positives, I could probably say that the comic relief isn't to
- 1:10:56her in this. I wouldn't advise strongly.
- 1:10:59Since this film. Okay, I mean you know and I
- 1:11:02think we said that at the beginning of the movie that we
- 1:11:04can see this being polarizing for people that don't
- 1:11:06necessarily like the torture e, ya, hype of movies and that's
- 1:11:10definitely fair. I think that those that stuff
- 1:11:13doesn't have a purpose. So me, I feel like there is a
- 1:11:16yeah purpose to it. I mean, it's unsettling and I
- 1:11:19feel like a lot of times people watch these types of movies
- 1:11:22because they want to feel unsettled.
- 1:11:25Yeah. And you know, I mean that's the
- 1:11:27type of stuff is very good at doing that.
- 1:11:29And I like seeing the over-the-top stuff.
- 1:11:31It put the thing is like. So we all know that I really
- 1:11:36like reading and my, they hassle on Reddit.
- 1:11:39Yeah. And a lot of times people are
- 1:11:41like, well, this is obviously a troll because nobody could be
- 1:11:43this, you know, whatever. But there's always somebody
- 1:11:47gonna be like. Well, I do actually know
- 1:11:49somebody in a similar situation or I have had a friend or family
- 1:11:52member that behaves this way. And you know, you and I have
- 1:11:56listened to True Crime podcasts and They've been episodes that
- 1:12:00we've had to turn off because the description of course that
- 1:12:03the crimes. Yeah like it's just too it feels
- 1:12:08too over-the-top and to cartoonishly evil.
- 1:12:10So I think what this movie does is it like fictionalize has a
- 1:12:16very real type of thing that happens and you are experiencing
- 1:12:20the horror of it. But it feels safe because you
- 1:12:24know it's not real. Even though you know, some of
- 1:12:28their actions are inspired by People.
- 1:12:30I mean I don't feel like her stuff is too over-the-top
- 1:12:32either. I mean the whole idea of making
- 1:12:34some yes base and I really think that happen and you know,
- 1:12:38holding people against their will is definitely a think that
- 1:12:42thing. Yeah, the whole dynamic with
- 1:12:44her, excuse me, and her dad. And her mom though, I mean, I'm
- 1:12:48sure that that's the thing but like it's just yeah, I mean this
- 1:12:52movie is it's a lot of it's over the top.
- 1:12:56But I mean, I wouldn't really say it's like cartoonish we go.
- 1:12:59Over the top. I think it's like it's just kind
- 1:13:01of unsettling. And yeah, you did say before
- 1:13:04that, there are scenes, I do go on a long time.
- 1:13:06But like, you know, to this person that's a con, but I feel
- 1:13:11like personally, I don't think that this necessarily overstays
- 1:13:17its welcome. I think this is the movie
- 1:13:19itself, is pretty sure. It's maybe an hour and a half an
- 1:13:21hour. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:24So okay, so, but you know, that's how you feel more power
- 1:13:27to you. I got it.
- 1:13:28Okay. And I get why this wouldn't be
- 1:13:30everybody's cup of tea. Yeah.
- 1:13:32So let's see if it's anybody else's cup of milk.
- 1:13:39All right, so on our listener of use, we got one instagram review
- 1:13:44from Cube saves, says, love this one.
- 1:13:48The loved ones. Love this one.
- 1:13:49The loved ones. He didn't say any of that.
- 1:13:53It is said that last part. He said love this one.
- 1:13:55Okay, I think it's funny. It's called the loved ones.
- 1:13:57It's like I loved this one. Okay, okay, yeah, okay, over on
- 1:14:03Twitter movies for days. Yes, I love this movie.
- 1:14:09So it's basically the same thing.
- 1:14:10Okay. And Joe was flavors, say the
- 1:14:13fear. He says, we can't hear you lives
- 1:14:17in my head forever, it really does.
- 1:14:19And I feel like sometimes I do that to the pets, that's fucked
- 1:14:22up, they say a multiple times and yeah, it is it is kind of
- 1:14:28unsettling. Well, and the Is because like,
- 1:14:30yeah, Brent can't actually talk, but he is still like, squealing
- 1:14:33and making sounds like sometimes Toby barking, maybe.
- 1:14:35Like, I can't hear you. Yeah, and that's it.
- 1:14:40That's a sort of use. Okay, all right, all right, so
- 1:14:44that's it for this weeks episode.

- 1:14:50a movie. But don't worry, we got some fun
