  today's play from Matthew 10 says "Do

  not suppose I have come to bring peace

  to the earth i did not come to bring
• 0:17
  peace but a sword for I have come to
• 0:19
  turn a man against his father a daughter
• 0:22
  against her mother a daughter-in-law
• 0:24
  against her mother-in-law a man's
• 0:26
  enemies will be the members of his own
• 0:28
  household anyone who loves their father
• 0:31
  or mother more than me is not worthy of
• 0:33
  me and anyone who loves their son or
• 0:35
  daughter more than me is not worthy of
• 0:38
  me whoever does not take up their cross
• 0:40
  and follow me is not worthy of me i'm
• 0:44
  increasingly disturbed by the number of
• 0:46
  older Christians I know who have
• 0:47
  compromised their original commitment to
• 0:50
  the plain word of God and its truth
• 0:52
  because their children have gone astray
• 0:53
  and have lived ungodly lives most of
• 0:56
  these children are somehow engaged in
• 0:58
  the LGBT movement and its various
• 1:01
  manifestations they then become
• 1:03
  pro-abortion advocates and
• 1:05
  anti-Americans blaming the West for all
• 1:07
  the problems in the world sin is the
• 1:10
  problem in the world truth in Jesus
• 1:13
  truth from God's word is the remedy to
• 1:15
  sin upon surrender to his authority
• 1:18
  permissive parenting is a big
• 1:20
  explanation for these children feeling
• 1:22
  the freedom to do whatever they please
• 1:24
  and failing to surrender wholly to God
• 1:27
  and his word passive fathers not
• 1:30
  diligently teaching and even insisting
• 1:32
  upon God's standard is another major
• 1:35
  cause of rebellion among children
• 1:38
  finally the children themselves born
• 1:40
  sinful choose to remain in their sin
• 1:43
  regardless of the teaching modeling and
• 1:45
  even discipline they have received jesus
• 1:48
  God himself warns us that his call is to
• 1:52
  unequivocal obedience surrender to his
• 1:55
  will belief in his work and hope in his
• 1:57
  resurrection and this will cause
• 1:59
  division in our families we must love
• 2:02
  God more than our children this doesn't
• 2:04
  mean severing relationships but it may
• 2:07
  mean treating them like pagans by loving
• 2:10
  them from a distance taking a stand
• 2:12
  against their behaviors and when they
• 2:14
  seek to bring those behaviors into our
• 2:16
  homes rebuking their thinking when they
• 2:18
  try to justify their beliefs that are
• 2:20
  based not on God's word but on the lies
• 2:23
  they've embraced through social media
• 2:25
  journalism and the educational
• 2:27
  institutions of our nation of which many
• 2:30
  parents sent their children the father
• 2:33
  himself rejected his son when he turned
• 2:35
  from him to punish him for all the sins
• 2:38
  of all those who turned back to the son
• 2:41
  for forgiveness for those sins it's hard
• 2:44
  to stand with Jesus first and sometimes
• 2:47
  alone but it's necessary for the
• 2:50
  salvation of our own souls i invite you
