- 0:05She's a happy girl. Hello, friends, and welcome back to another podcast of Woman.
- 0:10At the Well Ministries, where we believe that all of us have to come to Jesus
- 0:15like the woman at the well in John chapter 4.
- 0:18Our highest priority is making God real in your life.
- 0:22Whether you are listening in our app, in your favorite podcasting app,
- 0:25or on our website at watwm.org, we invite you to sit down with us as we look
- 0:31to the scriptures to learn more about God and to strengthen your daily walk with Jesus Christ.
- 1:032 Corinthians 12.9 says, And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee,
- 1:09for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
- 1:12Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities,
- 1:16that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
- 1:19Grace is unmerited favor. Join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries
- 1:24as Kim walks you through the Scriptures, revealing that you cannot sing greater than God's grace.
- 1:31Hello, and thank you for joining us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 1:35And I'm incredibly pleased that God has placed upon my heart to speak today
- 1:40out of 2 Corinthians 12 and verse 9.
- 1:43And as I speak to you, I can assure you that I'm speaking to myself as I am
- 1:48reminded of the amazing grace that God bestows upon us on a daily basis.
- 1:55And it isn't just at that time of conversion when old man is tossed away and
- 2:03the new man is created in us and that old things are passed away and the Holy
- 2:08Spirit begins to dwell inside of us.
- 2:11It's not just then that we are doused with amazing grace.
- 2:18But for most of us, it's a daily happening multiple times a day.
- 2:24But for all of us, it's a frequent happening that God just bathes us in his grace.
- 2:33The songwriter John Newton wrote a song familiar to so many people called Amazing Grace.
- 2:40And we sing it so often that perhaps we've become somewhat acclimated to the term grace.
- 2:48But if we spend just a few moments speaking of God's grace, I am fully confident that,
- 2:57that you too will agree, it is amazing. When we speak about grace,
- 3:02we're talking about unmerited favor.
- 3:07It's when God looks at us favorably, and as we are well aware,
- 3:13there's nothing we could do to ever deserve that.
- 3:16And so as we begin to look at our own lives, I want you to just take a typical
- 3:22day. And when the sun rises and you step out of bed, you have been hit with amazing grace.
- 3:33For you've had the opportunity to stand on your own two feet.
- 3:37You've had the opportunity to face yet another day that you have been called by God to do his work.
- 3:45Again, amazing grace.
- 3:48For those of you who may be physically handicapped and you can't stand on your
- 3:52own two feet, you're thinking, Kim, well, did I miss that grace?
- 3:56Grace no by the
- 3:58grace of god you have been able
- 4:01to stand in him physically you
- 4:05may not be but spiritually you can as
- 4:09you travel through your morning and you begin to eat that's amazing grace for
- 4:18if you can feed yourself i assure you that there are countless number of people
- 4:22in this world who would give almost anything to be able to do that,
- 4:27but are physically challenged and can't.
- 4:30As you eat your food, that's amazing grace because he has supplied for you food.
- 4:38As you look around your home, determining what it is that you're going to do,
- 4:43that's amazing grace because he's provided for your shelter.
- 4:49Many of us, after a few moments at home in the morning, will head out to work.
- 4:55And somehow, someway, you're going to get there. And for most of us,
- 4:59it's going to be in a vehicle.
- 5:00And that, my friend, is amazing grace. It's amazing grace if you have one.
- 5:06And it's amazing grace if you travel from point A to point B without being hurt or harmed.
- 5:13And then we make it to that job that he has given us.
- 5:17That's unmerited favor. The Bible says that all of our works are as filthy rags.
- 5:22That there is none righteous, no, not one.
- 5:25Yet he supplies for us a means that we might make money, that we might have
- 5:31the things on this world that we need, and for many of us, the things that we want.
- 5:37As we travel through that part of the day, we use skills and talents.
- 5:43That have been bestowed upon us by God above, that is amazing grace and unmerited favor.
- 5:50At the end of that workday or towards the evening time, we will again come home
- 5:56to that blessing of a home, to that blessing of a food, and for most of us to
- 6:02the blessing of a family.
- 6:04Again, we are not worthy of that, but he blessed us.
- 6:10And we'll travel through the evening and we'll have fellowship and we'll have food. Amazing grace.
- 6:17And we'll lay our heads down in a soft or comfortable pillow and in a comfy bed.
- 6:24And for some of us, we won't even give our thanks to the God above.
- 6:29And yet we have traveled from the beginning to the end of that day in amazing grace.
- 6:35I have highlighted but just a brief few things that will transpire in your day,
- 6:42that are truly amazing grace events.
- 6:47But for most of us, we walk through the day and we don't even notice them.
- 6:52When we don't notice them, we're like the man who was given the talent and he squandered it.
- 6:58We're like the man who was healed and never came back and said, thank you.
- 7:03And we really don't count ourselves as ungrateful. We don't count ourselves
- 7:07as that kind of person who would receive something wonderful and never say thanks.
- 7:14But guess what? We are.
- 7:17Because that amazing grace is the greatest gift we've ever been given.
- 7:24For it's His amazing grace mixed with this marvelous mercy that allows Him to
- 7:29give us the gift of salvation.
- 7:33In 2 Corinthians 12, 9, he says his grace is sufficient.
- 7:39And we've spoken for just these few moments about how amazing his grace is.
- 7:46But now we want to focus on how powerful his grace is and how abundant his grace is.
- 7:56You see, there's some 6 billion people in the world today.
- 7:59And for any other resource, it would be impossible to meet the needs of every
- 8:06one of those people and still have more than that left over.
- 8:11And it's a little difficult to get our minds wrapped around the concept that
- 8:16His grace is inexhaustible.
- 8:19And perhaps the best way we can do that is if we turn in our Bibles to Romans chapter 8.
- 8:26In Romans chapter 8 and verse 28, beginning, I'm sorry, beginning in verse 38,
- 8:3228 is such a familiar passage that says that all things work together for the
- 8:36good to them that love the Lord and that are called according to His purpose.
- 8:40Again, that's grace that allows us to live a life where the obstacles and the
- 8:48challenges that face us are already dealt with by the blood of Christ.
- 8:55And even the most horrid things in our lives are turned into good by God.
- 9:00But the verse we want to look at is 38 and 39, those two verses of Romans chapter 8.
- 9:07The writer Paul says, For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
- 9:12nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
- 9:15nor height nor death nor any other creature shall
- 9:19be able to separate us from the love of god which is in
- 9:21christ jesus that is amazing
- 9:25grace nothing can separate you from the love of god and the love of god is truly
- 9:33inexhaustible you can't send
- 9:36beyond the love of god you can't sin greater than the strength of God,
- 9:43and you can't live in any such way as to destroy his love for you.
- 9:51I want you to hear that plainly.
- 9:55You can't live, behave, or do anything or any way that would destroy the love that God has for you.
- 10:09I don't need to say anything else to prove that His grace is amazing.
- 10:17In 2 Corinthians chapter 12 and verse 9, it reads, And he said unto me,
- 10:23My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
- 10:32He said to me. It's personal.
- 10:38The book of Acts tells us that he's no respecter of persons.
- 10:40So how he spoke to Paul, I can have that very same personal relationship where he speaks to me.
- 10:49There's a big difference perhaps in many of us about how we live compared to how Paul lived.
- 10:56Paul lived in the center of his will. He was committed to God and he lived loving
- 11:02Jesus Christ and subjecting himself under the mighty hand of God that he might exalt him in due time.
- 11:11Paul loved Jesus with his whole heart, his mind, and his soul Which we are commanded
- 11:17to do And Paul's life was a living sacrifice,
- 11:23Holy and acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service,
- 11:27Perhaps if he's not speaking to us In
- 11:31the same manner that he spoke to Paul It's because
- 11:34we're not living at the foot of the cross
- 11:38as paul did it isn't that god has changed because god is the same yesterday
- 11:43today and forevermore and what he did for others he'll do for you but will you
- 11:49do for him what others have done for him are you willing to associate yourself
- 11:55so closely to jesus christ,
- 11:58that your life is transparent and he shones through Thank you.
- 12:04In those kind of lives that he speaks to all the time personally.
- 12:10But he speaks to you personally, even without that, at least once.
- 12:16When it comes to your heart's door and the Holy Spirit knocks on it.
- 12:21And the Bible says in Revelations that he says, behold, I stand at the door and I knock.
- 12:26The Holy Spirit draws you and Jesus is knocking on your heart's door, asking you to let him in.
- 12:33And i want to take you to a few places in the scripture in john chapter 20 jesus has rose again,
- 12:41and john and peter they get to the tomb because
- 12:44mary went and he wasn't there and she goes back and she gets
- 12:47them and the stone is rolled away and
- 12:51peter and john they go in and then they go back
- 12:54home and oh how they received a blessing well that's another story but mary
- 13:00she comes to the tomb and she's still looking and when she turns away and turns
- 13:07around back to where jesus is standing and he's appeared.
- 13:13Calls her by name. He says, Mary. It was personal.
- 13:18In John chapter 11, Mary and Martha, a different Mary, Mary and Martha,
- 13:23the sisters of Lazarus, are mourning the death of their brother.
- 13:29And he's been dead four days. And there's some puzzlement there,
- 13:35wondering where Jesus is and talking about
- 13:38if he'd have been there it wouldn't have happened and
- 13:42during this conversation that takes place
- 13:45amongst the people and amongst mary and martha themselves there's an incredible
- 13:51conversation that takes place and jesus says martha martha it was personal it
- 14:00was personal in john chapter 4.
- 14:04Jesus goes all the way out of his way to
- 14:07sit at a well jacob's well and during
- 14:11a time when no one would be there he was there because he knew that the woman
- 14:17at the well was coming and you see i believe that jesus leaves nothing to chance
- 14:24and i believe that every word that was meant to be in the King James Version
- 14:29of the Word of God is there.
- 14:32And I believe that the reason the woman at the well does not get named is because
- 14:37that's each and every one of us.
- 14:39And it makes it so much easier for us to assimilate that event into our own
- 14:47heart and our own minds because there isn't a name associated with it.
- 14:52And I want you to think about that as we talk about this story because here comes a woman...
- 14:58In sin and my friends
- 15:01if you don't have jesus christ as savior you are steeped
- 15:05in sin and she comes and he tells her all things ever she did is not this the
- 15:11christ that's what she said when she left in john chapter 4 verse 26 they had
- 15:19a personal conversation they spoke on a personal level,
- 15:26Jesus is no respecter of persons, and his grace is sufficient.
- 15:31That woman came, as I said, steeped in sin, and she left clean.
- 15:36Because it wasn't about her, it was about Jesus and his finished work on Calvary.
- 15:41The latter part of 2 Corinthians 12 and verse 9 says that my strength is made perfect in my weakness.
- 15:49The woman at the well came to that well and met Jesus with empty water pots.
- 15:54She didn't come half filled she
- 15:58didn't come with all the answers she
- 16:00didn't come thinking that her life was
- 16:03perfect she came empty and she
- 16:06left filled the problem with many of
- 16:09us is that we come to jesus already filled with the world and already filled
- 16:15with our idea of what things should be and so when we get up from prayer we
- 16:20don't have anything different than we had when we went because we didn't give
- 16:25Jesus any room to come in.
- 16:27And we weren't willing to give
- 16:28up anything that we had that was of this world that he might bless us.
- 16:33His grace is sufficient. His grace is pouring down.
- 16:36His grace is raining upon us. And we are not receiving it because we don't have
- 16:40anything left to gather it up because we're so attached to the world.
- 16:45But Paul said, in my weakness, when I've let go of the things,
- 16:50when I realize that I can't move forward with myself because I am nothing,
- 16:56when he let go and he let God, he was made strong.
- 17:00The Bible says that if we humble ourselves into the mighty hand of God,
- 17:04that he will exalt us in due time.
- 17:06And I submit to you, it will be higher than you can even imagine.
- 17:10Because eye hath not seen and ear hath not heard what lies in store for those who believe in him.
- 17:19Grace is sufficient. He doesn't need your assistance in the problem.
- 17:24He needs the repentant heart.
- 17:27He doesn't need your ideas. You can talk to him about it.
- 17:31He doesn't need you to go out and give your shot at trying to work it out.
- 17:36He needs you to come to him, confessing and believing.
- 17:42For you see, in Psalms 138.8, he says he will perfect that which concerneth you.
- 17:47But you gotta let him do the work.
- 17:50Gotta come as the woman did empty that he might fill you his grace is sufficient
- 17:56and he's personal in john chapter 3 and verse 16 he says for god so loved the
- 18:01world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should
- 18:05not perish but have everlasting life that's a personal.
- 18:09Personal relationship and he says whosoever should call upon the name of the
- 18:14lord shall be saved in Romans 10, 13.
- 18:16And then in Ephesians 2, 89, he says, for by grace. Do you hear me?
- 18:21For by grace are you saved.
- 18:23In Titus, he says, it's not of works of righteousness, which we have done,
- 18:27but it's through the work on Calvary of Jesus Christ.
- 18:31Did you hear me? His grace is sufficient.
- 18:35It's sufficient for you who are steeped in sin by the standards of the world.
- 18:41And listen to me, it's good for you who are steeped in sin, who think you are
- 18:48self-righteous, whose life by the world looks perfect.
- 18:53Maybe you go to church more than anybody, but you haven't had an experience
- 19:00of a personal relationship because you're not letting him in.
- 19:03No siree, you'll come closed. But he said, I surrender all.
- 19:11All to thee, my blessed Savior.
- 19:15I surrender all. You want to be strong? Give it up.
- 19:21Give up control of your life, your heart, and your mind, and place it in the very capable hands.
- 19:32God through jesus christ his son and
- 19:36you will experience grace beyond belief
- 19:39the very fact that he has allowed you to hear the words that he has spoken to
- 19:47let you know that there is a way that seemeth right unto man but the end thereof
- 19:52is destruction but the answer to that is his grace found in his gift.
- 19:57That in itself is grace.
- 20:01My friend, the Bible says in Jeremiah 33.3 that if you call unto him, he will answer you.
- 20:07That blows my mind that the God of the universe is interested in hearing from me.
- 20:15He doesn't need my advice, but he wants a relationship.
- 20:20He wants a personal relationship, and he's interested because the Bible says,
- 20:26Cast all your care upon him, for he careth for you.
- 20:31In Psalms 8, verse 4, he says, What is man that thou art mindful of him,
- 20:39and the son of man that thou visitest him?
- 20:43Oh, my friends, his grace is sufficient.
- 20:47The world may tell you that you've gone too far, but I read in your hearing,
- 20:54what he said, that nothing could separate you from his love.
- 20:59Nothing you can do can destroy his love for you.
- 21:02And in his words and not mine, he says, my grace is sufficient for thee.
