- 0:01Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Klaye. Three to two Cracking fall in Nashville
- 0:03Speaker 1: in a game that the Cracking got off to a
- 0:05Speaker 1: really good start in that one, but it was a
- 0:07Speaker 1: three goal second for the Preds that spelled the end
- 0:11Speaker 1: for Seattle. Just take us through those sixty minutes and
- 0:13Speaker 1: how you felt that performance was compared to the previous
- 0:16Speaker 1: two games you played.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought we played well. You know, certainly the
- 0:21Speaker 2: starter was one of our better starts of the season.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Those period one of better periods of the season, most
- 0:27Speaker 2: chances in any period you know that we've had this year.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Came out well. I was, you know, we could have
- 0:34Speaker 2: got to three and four, but we didn't. You know,
- 0:37Speaker 2: in the second period we came out I thought we
- 0:41Speaker 2: I thought we didn't quite have the same energy. You know,
- 0:45Speaker 2: they ended up breaking us down a couple of times.
- 0:49Speaker 2: We played a little bit too much in our own zone,
- 0:51Speaker 2: we gave them some goals, and then I thought we
- 0:55Speaker 2: picked it up after that.
- 0:56Speaker 3: We had some really good chances to the second period.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Really the turning point.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Was, you know, maybe the disallowed goal to make it
- 1:03Speaker 2: through one for us by Shane right where the goalie
- 1:06Speaker 2: interference is called on Evans but you know, we we
- 1:10Speaker 2: have to find a way to be better for a
- 1:13Speaker 2: consistent sixty minutes.
- 1:14Speaker 1: You were talking earlier today about the fatigue and some
- 1:17Speaker 1: guys just standing around the defensive zone. What can you do,
- 1:20Speaker 1: especially here tonight's and limit that is against a Colorado
- 1:23Speaker 1: team that is so active and is so talented up front.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Well, it's going to be difficult, but you you know,
- 1:29Speaker 2: you've got to You've got to eliminate people and win
- 1:31Speaker 2: more battles.
- 1:32Speaker 3: That's just it in a nutshell.
- 1:34Speaker 2: You know, there's got to be a level of urgency
- 1:36Speaker 2: going into a battle that says I'm not losing this
- 1:39Speaker 2: battle to you, you know, and we've got a somehow
- 1:43Speaker 2: funny way to increase that level.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Before the last game, you talked about how your top
- 1:48Speaker 1: nine to four group you needed to see more out
- 1:50Speaker 1: of them. Coppocco had a really good game man, even years,
- 1:53Speaker 1: getting in his first NHL fight adding a goal for
- 1:55Speaker 1: the second consecutive game. Who stood out to you in
- 1:57Speaker 1: that national game and who were you happy to take
- 2:01Speaker 1: those words to heart following that loss the other night
- 2:04Speaker 1: to Otawa.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Well, I thought that for the most part, you know,
- 2:08Speaker 2: everybody you know took took the words to heart.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I thought we had a great start, you.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Know, and you know, there's certain guys I guess you
- 2:17Speaker 2: could say that standout a little bit more than other
- 2:20Speaker 2: guys maybe, but I wasn't unhappy with the team.
- 2:22Speaker 1: When you see a guy like Maddy ben Air standing
- 2:24Speaker 1: up for his teams, obviously you don't want to see
- 2:26Speaker 1: your top line center getting into a fight. But what
- 2:28Speaker 1: does that say about the kind of player that he's
- 2:30Speaker 1: becoming and his maturation that you've seen from day one
- 2:35Speaker 1: now here to game sixty three, that he's stepping up
- 2:39Speaker 1: for his own teammates and also providing that offense as well.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he's he's a guy who as I've
- 2:46Speaker 2: come in here in government to him, he's continued to
- 2:48Speaker 2: evolve into more of a leader. You know, He's definitely
- 2:53Speaker 2: has a leadership quality. He showed that the other night
- 2:56Speaker 2: and stepping in for his teammates something that you know
- 2:59Speaker 2: everyone should do, but not always easy for a guy
- 3:02Speaker 2: like that to do. So, you know, I just think
- 3:05Speaker 2: that overall, as he grows here and gains experience, he's
- 3:10Speaker 2: growing into more of a leadership role and certainly more
- 3:12Speaker 2: of a leader on the hockey team.
- 3:13Speaker 3: So it's nice to see.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Whenever you play a team like Colorado, who's been one
- 3:17Speaker 1: of the juggernauts in the NHL for quite some time,
- 3:19Speaker 1: they got better at the deadline, seemingly no weaknesses for them.
- 3:23Speaker 1: What types of challenges does that prevents in terms of
- 3:25Speaker 1: your preparation, who to key in, what areas to key in?
- 3:30Speaker 1: What does that look like here tonight for Seattle?
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, our preparation doesn't change a whole lot.
- 3:35Speaker 2: We're going to make a couple of small adjustments that
- 3:37Speaker 2: we feel are necessary, you know, one off of face
- 3:40Speaker 2: offs against the McKinnon line. But at the end of
- 3:43Speaker 2: the day, you know, our game doesn't really change. You
- 3:48Speaker 2: have to be aware of mccar, You have to be
- 3:50Speaker 2: aware of NHS. You know, obviously McKinnon's dynamic the guys
- 3:53Speaker 2: plus fifty five or something like that, you know, this year,
- 3:55Speaker 2: So it's outrageous, but you know, we just have to
- 3:59Speaker 2: make sure that we're ready to play a solid team game.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Five man units are going to be key tonight.
- 4:05Speaker 1: From the last few games. Is there one area that
- 4:07Speaker 1: you can key on that's that you're saying this has
- 4:10Speaker 1: to be better from the last three games going into tonight.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah, closing in and dizol and getting the puck back
