- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's get back to the Mark Simone Show. I'm w R.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hello. We'll get to Johnny Carson a little later this hour.
- 0:09Speaker 2: We'll get to Bill Ackman. Mom, Donnie, Well, he spoke
- 0:15Speaker 2: with Jessica Tish again over the weekend. I guess that's
- 0:20Speaker 2: a good sign that they're talking. Hopefully she stays right now.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Eric Adams is away, he's been in Israel. He had
- 0:28Speaker 2: this terrible shooting, a police officer shot in Brooklyn. Little
- 0:32Speaker 2: crisis occurring. And the good news is you got Randy
- 0:37Speaker 2: Mastro as the first deputy mayor. He was Rudy Giuliani's
- 0:40Speaker 2: first deputy mayor. If you like the way that Giuliani
- 0:43Speaker 2: administration ran, then you like Randy Mastro. And about a
- 0:46Speaker 2: year ago, Eric Adams put him in charge of city Hall.
- 0:50Speaker 2: He's the first deputy mayor. So even with Adams away,
- 0:53Speaker 2: Randy Mastro ran to the hospital to be with the
- 0:57Speaker 2: officer and handle the situation. Police Commissioner j. Tsh is there.
- 1:01Speaker 2: But when you got Mastro, things are under control. That's
- 1:06Speaker 2: why things have been so good for the past year. Now,
- 1:09Speaker 2: what happens when Mom Donnie comes in, Well, that first
- 1:12Speaker 2: deputy mayor will be Dean Fulahan, who comes from the
- 1:17Speaker 2: Deblasio administration. He was Deblasio's chief of staff, first deputy mayor,
- 1:22Speaker 2: in other words, first deputy mayor. So it's going to
- 1:25Speaker 2: look a lot like a Deblasio administration, which was bad,
- 1:29Speaker 2: but we got through it. We got through it. We
- 1:31Speaker 2: got through eight years of Deblasio. We probably won't have
- 1:34Speaker 2: to get through that much of Mom Donnie. It probably is.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I mean, it's four years, but it might. It could
- 1:41Speaker 2: just be one year. You might get a governor next
- 1:43Speaker 2: year who removes him if things aren't going well. Now.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Donald Trump said he'll meet with Mom. Donnie said, New
- 1:51Speaker 2: York is important. He'll meet with him, He'll talk to him. Mom.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Donnie was asked about meeting with Trump.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I look forward to having a conversation with President Trump
- 1:58Speaker 3: because it's one where I'll make clear if he wants
- 2:00Speaker 3: to work together to deliver on his campaign promises of
- 2:03Speaker 3: cheaper groceries or a lower cost of living, I am
- 2:05Speaker 3: there and I am ready to go. But if he
- 2:07Speaker 3: wants to talk about pursuing a campaign agenda that comes
- 2:10Speaker 3: to the expense of New Yorkers, that is something that
- 2:12Speaker 3: I will fight.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, so what will Trump do when he meets
- 2:16Speaker 2: with him. Well, maybe he'll get through to him on
- 2:19Speaker 2: a couple of things. First, the most important thing is crime.
- 2:23Speaker 2: If you convince him, he's got to get a real
- 2:25Speaker 2: police commissioner and he's got to really take care of crime.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Mom Donnie said, he doesn't want to hire five thousand
- 2:31Speaker 2: more cops. And the problem is will he with you know,
- 2:35Speaker 2: withdraw cops from a lot of situations not enforce certain things.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Then that's what t Blasio basically did. Things start to
- 2:42Speaker 2: get out of control. So that's a problem. But hopefully
- 2:48Speaker 2: Trump gets through to him on that kind of stuff. Now, personally, well,
- 2:52Speaker 2: they got some things in common. Mom Donnie was a
- 2:56Speaker 2: little trump like in his campaign and that he was
- 2:58Speaker 2: the total outsider up against these big political machines. And
- 3:02Speaker 2: Trump's case, he was up against the Clinton machine. Mamdani
- 3:06Speaker 2: was up against the Cuomo machine, and he defeated him.
- 3:13Speaker 2: So they got that, and they've got something in common. Now.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Trump is good at winning people over in private. People
- 3:19Speaker 2: are always surprised in private what a nice man he is. Well,
- 3:23Speaker 2: how he relates to people. He's an incredibly good listener.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It's beyond listening. He looks at you like with radar
- 3:29Speaker 2: and sonar. He knows exactly what you're saying, and he's
- 3:33Speaker 2: really good at handling people. But generally the people he
- 3:37Speaker 2: handles are like him. They're big, successful business people. They're
- 3:41Speaker 2: CEOs or bank presidents, or they're substantial people. That's where
- 3:46Speaker 2: he does best. But he's also been good with the weirdo,
- 3:49Speaker 2: odd ball kookie types you know, Kim Jong un and others.
- 3:54Speaker 2: He was able to win him over and calm him down.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Zelenski got off to a bad start but eventually developed
- 4:00Speaker 2: a good relationship. So we'll see what he can do
- 4:02Speaker 2: with Mom Donnie if he can get through to him.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Mom Donnie is talking to Tish. He did a Sunday
- 4:10Speaker 2: show where he was asked about keeping her.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Will she stay in that office?
- 4:14Speaker 3: I continue to be confident in my decision, but as
- 4:16Speaker 3: soon as there's a public announcement to be made, we'll
- 4:18Speaker 3: be sure.
- 4:18Speaker 4: To show does she say? I got to think about this.
- 4:21Speaker 3: More of the conversation, frankly, had to do with what
- 4:24Speaker 3: it looks like to deliver that public.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Safety right now. He is a genius at double talk.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You know. Kamala would do this word salad and was
- 4:31Speaker 2: pretty obvious, you know what the hell she was talking about?
- 4:33Speaker 2: Just like a babbling yo yo. But mom, Donnie, the
- 4:37Speaker 2: double talk is very good. Now what did he just say?
- 4:41Speaker 2: It was asked her, are you going to keep her?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Did he give a yes or no?
- 4:45Speaker 4: Will she stay in that office?
- 4:47Speaker 1: I continue to be confident in my decision.
- 4:48Speaker 2: But okay, think of it. I continue to be confident
- 4:51Speaker 2: in my decision. What does that mean? I continue? You
- 4:57Speaker 2: could just say, well, my decision is to keep her.
- 5:00Speaker 2: But he says, I'm confident in my decision. That adds
- 5:05Speaker 2: an element to it. Then he adds a third layer.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I continue to be confident in my decision. Now he
- 5:11Speaker 2: just said three things without saying anything.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Will she stay in that office?
- 5:15Speaker 1: I continue to be confident in my decision.
- 5:16Speaker 3: But as soon as there's a public announcement to be made,
- 5:18Speaker 3: we'll be sure of show.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Does she say, as soon as there's a public announcement
- 5:21Speaker 2: to be made, we'll be sure to share it. Well, obviously,
- 5:25Speaker 2: if it's a public announcement, you'll share it.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Uh.
- 5:29Speaker 2: He was asked about Putin. I don't know what Putin said.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Do anything.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I believe this is a city of international law and
- 5:34Speaker 3: being a city of international law means looking to uphold
- 5:37Speaker 3: international law, and that means upholding the warrants from the
- 5:39Speaker 3: International Criminal Court, whether they're for Benjamin Ninia or Vladimir Putin.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I think that that's critically important to showcase our values.
- 5:45Speaker 3: And unlike Donald Trump, I'm someone who looks to exist
- 5:48Speaker 3: within the confines of the laws that we have, So
- 5:50Speaker 3: I will look to exhaust every legal possibility, not to
- 5:53Speaker 3: create my own laws.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Now, I guess they're talking about arresting Putin if he
- 5:56Speaker 2: comes to town, or arresting that yah who No, he
- 5:58Speaker 2: said again, this is all bubble talk.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I believe this is a city of international law first,
- 6:02Speaker 1: So it's not.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It's not a city of international law. We don't use
- 6:05Speaker 2: international law here. We don't even recognize it here in
- 6:07Speaker 2: New York City. And if he ever tries us, he'll
- 6:09Speaker 2: be taken to court and lose immediately. It's a city
- 6:13Speaker 2: of city and state and US law. We don't acknowledge
- 6:16Speaker 2: international law. And by the way, that court that put
- 6:20Speaker 2: out the indictment against Natana is not recognized as any
- 6:23Speaker 2: sort of a legitimate court. It's the World Court of whatever,
- 6:26Speaker 2: but we don't even recognize it. So he's absolutely wrong.
- 6:29Speaker 2: He's threatened Netya, who's supposed to come here next year
- 6:33Speaker 2: for that annual UN summit. He'll speak at that as
- 6:36Speaker 2: he always does. Will Mamdani a tempt to arrest him.
- 6:39Speaker 3: We are a global city, But I also think what
- 6:41Speaker 3: New Yorkers are looking for is consistency in the way
- 6:43Speaker 3: in which we talk about our values and follow through
- 6:45Speaker 3: on them. And that's why I think these warrants from
- 6:47Speaker 3: the International Criminal Court, they are worth fully exploring every
- 6:49Speaker 3: legal possibility to actually follow through on.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Again, the World Criminal Court not recognized by anybody. It's
- 6:54Speaker 2: just a joke. If he does come to New York,
- 6:57Speaker 2: President Trump has said he will have him escorted by
- 6:59Speaker 2: milit terry federal troops FBI. He will protect him from
- 7:03Speaker 2: being arrested. Alan Dershwitz said he will stand by his
- 7:06Speaker 2: side the entire visit to New York and be his lawyer.
- 7:10Speaker 2: What about Trump sending in the National Guard.
- 7:12Speaker 3: And so we will have a unified front myself the
- 7:14Speaker 3: Governor of the Attorney General in showcasing that any attempts
- 7:18Speaker 3: to deploy the National Guard here in New York City,
- 7:20Speaker 3: it's not an attack on an individual politician like myself.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It's an attack on the city.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Now a unified front.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Think of this army, so we will have a unified front. Myself.
- 7:29Speaker 1: The governor of the Attorney General.
- 7:31Speaker 2: All right now, myself, he's like a dumb kid, a
- 7:33Speaker 2: thirty four year old kid. The governor is a total
- 7:36Speaker 2: coward who runs and hides it the sign of any trouble.
- 7:39Speaker 2: The Attorney General is a slee's ball who's under indictment,
- 7:43Speaker 2: who may be in jail by the time this even
- 7:45Speaker 2: comes up. Let me see about arrest.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I've said time and again this is a city of.
- 7:52Speaker 2: International same thing. Oh here, he's on k hulk.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I've also said that if there are additional or alternate
- 7:57Speaker 3: revenue sources that would pay for the same things.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, he wants to do these free buses. He has
- 8:02Speaker 2: no power to make the buses free. The Mayor of
- 8:04Speaker 2: New York has no control over the buses. It's all state.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It's the MTA that runs them. And Hochel has said,
- 8:09Speaker 2: you can't make the buses free, can't take it be
- 8:12Speaker 2: a massive loss of revenue, so you'd have to come
- 8:14Speaker 2: up with some other revenue.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I've also said that if there are additional or alternate
- 8:18Speaker 3: revenue sources that would pay for the same things, we
- 8:20Speaker 3: would embrace them by all means, because the most important
- 8:23Speaker 3: thing is funding these things. And I think with the
- 8:25Speaker 3: governor there's a clear alignment of the importance of delivering
- 8:29Speaker 3: on universal childcare and on affordability agenda. And now the
- 8:32Speaker 3: work begins even before we've been sworn in on lining
- 8:36Speaker 3: out when, how, But we always know it's for who,
- 8:38Speaker 3: which is New Yorkers.
- 8:39Speaker 2: See, if you're not saying anything, if you're not going
- 8:41Speaker 2: to answer, if you're going to double talk, the secret
- 8:43Speaker 2: is to do it fast. If you said, well, I
- 8:48Speaker 2: you know, it sounds like you're not answering. But if
- 8:50Speaker 2: you talk very quickly and you're not really answering, and
- 8:51Speaker 2: you said, well, it's a matter of how, when and
- 8:53Speaker 2: HW and if you talk it a mile a minute,
- 8:56Speaker 2: your salad, you know what you're talking about, even if
- 8:58Speaker 2: you don't. But we'll see. This is not going to
- 9:03Speaker 2: be easy getting through Mom Donnie. But but we got
- 9:07Speaker 2: through Deblasio. It was pretty much the same thing. Deblasio
- 9:10Speaker 2: thought socialism was better. De Blasio same thing with the affordability.
- 9:14Speaker 2: But remember Deblasio's whole campaign was about two New York's.
- 9:16Speaker 2: There's two New York's, one for the rich, one for
- 9:20Speaker 2: so Now. The only difference is de Plasio didn't really
- 9:25Speaker 2: hate all those rich people. In fact, he did them
- 9:28Speaker 2: favor after whatever they needed, he did it for him.
- 9:30Speaker 2: So I don't know about Mom Donnie. I don't know
- 9:33Speaker 2: if he's that bribeable or that persuadable. But we'll see.
- 9:38Speaker 2: He's got a team in place. He's got a bunch
- 9:41Speaker 2: of people that are on the transition team. He has
- 9:45Speaker 2: one guy on the transition team just got caught with
- 9:47Speaker 2: the most horrible antisemitic remarks. But listen, that's no shock.
- 9:53Speaker 2: This is what you expect from these Mom Donnie people.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You got a little of that from the Deblasio team
- 9:59Speaker 2: as well. Now, another thing is this transition team of
- 10:02Speaker 2: Mom Donnie's has been raising money and apparently they're up
- 10:05Speaker 2: to about a million dollars already. They've raised about one
- 10:09Speaker 2: million dollars. Now. They say it's a smaller donations. Average
- 10:13Speaker 2: donation is seventy five dollars, But that's a lot of money.
- 10:17Speaker 2: What do they do with the transition money? Who knows?
- 10:19Speaker 2: They pay for themselves. They just spend it on themselves.
- 10:23Speaker 2: It's kind of ridiculous, but good for mom. Donnie. Yeah,
- 10:28Speaker 2: the donation came. The money came from seven thousand donors,
- 10:32Speaker 2: averaging seventy three dollars per donor. So the other people
- 10:37Speaker 2: on he got Elena Leopold, she's the director. The whole
- 10:43Speaker 2: transition team is female. I don't know what that means,
- 10:48Speaker 2: but she's she's pretty bad. They got Lena Kahan, who's
- 10:53Speaker 2: co chair of the transition team. She was a longtime
- 10:58Speaker 2: Obama Biden persons now for her tough anti trust stance,
- 11:02Speaker 2: in other words, harassing businesses. She has a history of
- 11:06Speaker 2: going after major companies and trying to bust them up,
- 11:09Speaker 2: anti trust, so that's not good. The transition team says
- 11:14Speaker 2: more than fifty thousand people five zero fifty thousand candidates
- 11:19Speaker 2: have applied to work for his administration. They have one
- 11:24Speaker 2: of those resume portals. They've gotten fifty thousand applications. They'll
- 11:27Speaker 2: be going through fifty thousand. Well, it's say they got
- 11:30Speaker 2: like six weeks to get to get through this. And
- 11:32Speaker 2: we'll see Bill Maher on Friday Night begging, begging Democrats
- 11:38Speaker 2: to get away from this socialism, this nonsense. Mars said,
- 11:42Speaker 2: did you watch his victory speech. Well, if you didn't
- 11:46Speaker 2: see it, he said, don't worry, You're going to see
- 11:47Speaker 2: it in every attack ad for the next two years.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Republicans will be using that Mamdani speech in every campaign
- 11:54Speaker 2: ad against the Democrats. He said, Democratic socialism is like
- 11:58Speaker 2: a dating profile. Looks great until you actually meet up
- 12:02Speaker 2: in the real world. You know, Bernie Sanders, his single
- 12:05Speaker 2: pair healthcare sounded great, but it totally collapsed when you
- 12:09Speaker 2: try it. He did it in Vermont. It totally collapsed.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Bernie aoc Mamdannie. They're not Democrats. They'll be the first
- 12:16Speaker 2: to tell you. They're democratic socialists. It's a different thing,
- 12:19Speaker 2: and Democrats should stay the hell away from it. Hunter
- 12:23Speaker 2: Biden goes nuts on this podcast, ranting and raving and
- 12:28Speaker 2: yelling and screaming. It's really met me. Know, Miranda Devine
- 12:33Speaker 2: wrote the definitive book about the laptop and about the
- 12:36Speaker 2: Big Guy and the Biden corruptions. He really went after her.
- 12:39Speaker 2: He called her ugly, hideous, looking, a whore. This is
- 12:43Speaker 2: Hunter Biden's worse. Obviously, she's a very fine person then
- 12:47Speaker 2: very attractive. You know, you can call people ugly, but
- 12:50Speaker 2: when they're making a living on television, people looking at
- 12:53Speaker 2: close ups of their face. I don't think they nobody's
- 12:56Speaker 2: going to buy that they're so ugly. But it's a
- 12:59Speaker 2: good to compliment to Miranda that he couldn't find anything
- 13:03Speaker 2: wrong in the book, to point out he couldn't be
- 13:05Speaker 2: specific about anything she got wrong, and he couldn't find
- 13:08Speaker 2: any legitimate attack on her, so he had to just
- 13:11Speaker 2: go nuts. He also said Democrats need to turn the
- 13:14Speaker 2: temperature up. Turn the temperature up. How could they get
- 13:19Speaker 2: any angrier than they already are? How could they get
- 13:22Speaker 2: any matter? How could they yell and scream about Trump anymore?
- 13:25Speaker 2: How could they have more Trump arrangement syndrome than they
- 13:28Speaker 2: have now? So, yeah, socialism, listen, it's failed everywhere. Trying
- 13:34Speaker 2: socialism to be like betting on the New York Jets
- 13:36Speaker 2: to win. It's not a good idea. It's never going
- 13:39Speaker 2: to happen. Hey, Bill Ackman, the hedge fund Billionaire's a
- 13:42Speaker 2: nice guy, Bill Ackman. So he posted something. He's a
- 13:47Speaker 2: little too busy on Twitter and all that stuff, But
- 13:50Speaker 2: he said, I hear from many young men they find
- 13:52Speaker 2: it difficult to meet young women in a public setting.
- 13:55Speaker 2: You know, younger, younger people are so busy on online meeting,
- 13:59Speaker 2: you know, to online dating apps, and that's how they
- 14:02Speaker 2: meet that. They have no idea how you could meet
- 14:04Speaker 2: somebody in person, So he said, young men are always
- 14:07Speaker 2: asking me. They have so much trouble meeting in person.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I thought I would share a few words that I
- 14:11Speaker 2: used in my youth to meet someone that I found compelling.
- 14:15Speaker 2: So Ackman goes on to say if he wanted to
- 14:16Speaker 2: meet somebody, he would walk up to her and say
- 14:21Speaker 2: may I meet you before engaging further in conversation. He says,
- 14:25Speaker 2: I almost never got to know it inevitably worked, He said,
- 14:31Speaker 2: I think the combination of proper grammar and politeness was
- 14:34Speaker 2: the key to its effectiveness. Give it a try, May
- 14:38Speaker 2: I meet you? Well, the way this turned out, Ackman
- 14:43Speaker 2: has been ridiculed all weekend online. He's getting just tarred
- 14:48Speaker 2: and feathered online. In fact, all you see are may
- 14:50Speaker 2: I meet you memes, just ridiculing poor Bill Ackman. It's
- 14:56Speaker 2: actually he's got a good point there, may I meet you? Yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 2: I kind of get it. I mean he's got a
- 15:04Speaker 2: point there. But politeness, most guys aren't very polite or gentlemanly,
- 15:09Speaker 2: just be very polite, proper grammar that can be very
- 15:12Speaker 2: I don't know if i'd go and would you say
- 15:14Speaker 2: that to somebody?
- 15:16Speaker 1: He says.
- 15:17Speaker 2: It's not just dating. He uses it in business situations.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I don't know. Let me go out in the hall
- 15:22Speaker 2: and try this to somebody. May I meet you? I
- 15:26Speaker 2: don't know. It sounds pretty lame to me. It sounds
- 15:29Speaker 2: very lame. But Akman getting trashed all over the place
- 15:32Speaker 2: for it. Hey, well take some calls in a minute.
- 15:34Speaker 2: We'll get to Johnny Carson coming up, but we'll get
- 15:37Speaker 2: to the phones next. Eight hundred three to two one
- 15:40Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number, eight hundred three to
- 15:43Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten.
