- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:14Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I am not your host, Spencer Newhearth.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I'm your guest host, Doctor Randall Williams. Today we're joined
- 0:23Speaker 2: by Steve, Janis cal Clay, Mister Bret Reeves and Chili. Now,
- 0:29Speaker 2: as you know, this is a ten round quiz show
- 0:31Speaker 2: with questions from Meat Eater's four verticals, which are Hunting's, fishing,
- 0:35Speaker 2: conservation and cooking, and there is a prize. Meat Eater
- 0:38Speaker 2: will donate five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of
- 0:42Speaker 2: the winners choosing. Now for our housekeeping today, we have
- 0:46Speaker 2: a correction to make from the episode of Trivia that
- 0:48Speaker 2: aired on October ninth. That episode, if you'll recall, was
- 0:52Speaker 2: guest hosted by Jannis Betellus. Question ten of that week's
- 0:55Speaker 2: episode read as follows. Brumination is the word that describes
- 0:59Speaker 2: the hibernation of what animal? The answer given was snake,
- 1:04Speaker 2: but Yanna said he would have also accepted reptiles. Spencer
- 1:07Speaker 2: was the only contestant to receive a point. Heading into
- 1:11Speaker 2: question ten, Brody and I were tied in first place.
- 1:13Speaker 2: He answered bear and I answered Salamander, neither of which
- 1:17Speaker 2: received credits, so we entered a tiebreaker, which Brody then won.
- 1:21Speaker 2: At nine fifty one pm that day, I received it.
- 1:26Speaker 3: This is all the same letter.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yes, this is I've composed this, This is my own,
- 1:33Speaker 2: this is from you.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yes, yes, when you're reading your own letter to Spencer, No,
- 1:39Speaker 1: he's just telling us the story. This is I'm telling
- 1:42Speaker 1: the story. I will have some just okay. I thought
- 1:45Speaker 1: you're reading some dude's letter. No, no, no, this is
- 1:48Speaker 1: how I was starting to like this guy.
- 1:49Speaker 4: This is house keeper, I think, Wasn't it brumation not
- 1:57Speaker 4: rumination bronation.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Later that day, at nine fifty one pm, I received
- 2:04Speaker 2: a text message from Spencer Newharth that read oh no,
- 2:08Speaker 2: and included a screenshot of a Google search with the
- 2:11Speaker 2: phrase do amphibian's broommate. The results of the search indicated
- 2:16Speaker 2: definitively that Amphibians, including salamators, do indeed broomate. Our subsequent
- 2:21Speaker 2: text exchange read as follows. Randal ho ho ho ho
- 2:26Speaker 2: ho ho ho exclamation point, exclamation point, Spencer, I thought
- 2:32Speaker 2: that seemed wrong.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Random When you said ho ho ho ho, did you
- 2:35Speaker 1: mean ha ha ha No, No, it's.
- 2:37Speaker 2: A Oh yeah, oh Randall, Yeah, I did too, Spencer,
- 2:44Speaker 2: this can be your housekeeping. When you host trivia in Louisiana,
- 2:48Speaker 2: you will be able to declare yourself the winner of
- 2:51Speaker 2: that episode.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Wow, so you won, So to some all of.
- 2:55Speaker 2: That up, Spencer has officially added a victory to my
- 2:57Speaker 2: career total and taken one away from broading.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Now.
- 3:02Speaker 2: We've not reached out to Brody yet for comment.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I do like this story. What do you do you?
- 3:07Speaker 2: How do you think Brodie will react to that?
- 3:09Speaker 3: He'll take it.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He'll be very reasonable about it, Yeah, very much. We'll
- 3:13Speaker 1: ruminate on a little bit.
- 3:17Speaker 5: But he also but he did win the tiebreaker.
- 3:19Speaker 2: He did, but we shouldn't have gone to a time.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Well yeah, it's like you won in regular time.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 5: But the crowd's gone home. Yeah, half the kids cried,
- 3:28Speaker 5: half the kids cheered.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Counts as the record books. Yeah, history, history, Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 3: History will erase the feelings.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Congratulations, and I will I will respect Brodie's donation to
- 3:46Speaker 2: col Rodden's Responsible wildlife Management.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You know you're not going to send them money.
- 3:54Speaker 6: What do they need money for? Oh?
- 3:56Speaker 2: I don't know. Something called proposition one twenty seven it yep, yep.
- 4:02Speaker 6: So now no vote no. If you're in Colorado.
- 4:04Speaker 5: No.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I met multiple Colorados this very week, and the first
- 4:07Speaker 3: thing I asked him was, I said, how are you
- 4:09Speaker 3: voting on proposition one twenty seven? They all answered right, you.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Know, you know, the the organization that's behind that is
- 4:16Speaker 1: getting a lot of mileage now out of uh they're
- 4:21Speaker 1: getting a lot of mileage. That that the great hunter
- 4:25Speaker 1: dan ash is coming out in pro proposition one twenty seven.
- 4:31Speaker 6: Who's Dan No?
- 4:32Speaker 1: He think hunts a pheasant now? And then one of
- 4:37Speaker 1: this bird hunter? Yeah, he used to well, he used
- 4:39Speaker 1: to be interior under who uh No, he was fishing,
- 4:44Speaker 1: had a fishing wildlife service under under Obama. Obama. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: so like even a hunter.
- 4:52Speaker 5: They they are one of those.
- 4:54Speaker 6: They've found all of those, they got both of them.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Well, now that we've all had our fund for the
- 4:59Speaker 2: day and and through that important item of business, let's
- 5:02Speaker 2: just get through this game of trivia, shall we film?
- 5:05Speaker 2: Please play the drop?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Look, I need to know what I stay under? Win everything? Everybody?
- 5:14Speaker 1: How's that just tend to win everything?
- 5:23Speaker 2: Demon suckers? That was good and loud. Question one. This
- 5:29Speaker 2: is a multiple choice question. According to the University of Florida.
- 5:34Speaker 2: What percentage of alligator attacks are fatal? Hmmm, your options
- 5:39Speaker 2: are A four percent, B seventeen percent, C thirty percent,
- 5:47Speaker 2: or D forty three percent. I'll read those again.
- 5:52Speaker 1: This isn't like including dogs and possums and whatnot.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Is human human human alligator attacks? A four percent, B
- 6:00Speaker 2: seventeen percent, C thirty percent or D forty three percent
- 6:06Speaker 2: is an attack?
- 6:07Speaker 5: Well, this directly pertains to what just happened and in
- 6:10Speaker 5: Colorado with the mountain lion, Colorado State doesn't recognize the
- 6:15Speaker 5: lion attacking the dog and the human interfering and beating
- 6:20Speaker 5: the lion to death with the shovel as an attack
- 6:24Speaker 5: because it was attacking the dog, not the human.
- 6:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I see both sides of that, because if you picture like,
- 6:30Speaker 1: let's say you looked out your window and there's a
- 6:32Speaker 1: bear mixing it up with your dog. Yes, and you
- 6:34Speaker 1: ran out there and mix it up with the bear.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I can see how you, Yes, But I would see
- 6:38Speaker 1: that if you were walking your dog, then I would
- 6:42Speaker 1: be like that, you know, I mean that I would
- 6:44Speaker 1: be like I would say that is an attack, Yes,
- 6:46Speaker 1: because in your immediate proximity and it's your property that
- 6:49Speaker 1: you're kind of hooked to by a cord.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, yeah, And like, yeah, did the lion
- 6:55Speaker 5: come from ninety degrees and t boned the dog or
- 6:59Speaker 5: did it come straight at the both of you and
- 7:01Speaker 5: encountered the dog first?
- 7:02Speaker 1: Sure, or the dog jumped in front of it.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah, So it's a gator attack, meaning that a gator
- 7:07Speaker 3: touched a human with his snout with his teeth.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I think that's I think that's a fair characterization.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Let's pick a number, man, for you listeners at home
- 7:21Speaker 1: who are in love with your ladies at home who
- 7:24Speaker 1: are in love with Chili. He's not saying anthing because
- 7:26Speaker 1: you don't have a mic, but I'm here to speak
- 7:29Speaker 1: for him.
- 7:30Speaker 2: You're his interlocketor I think is the term.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I've already written my name. I think Chili, I
- 7:37Speaker 1: see what you got to do? We all have of
- 7:39Speaker 1: my Oh, Chili has come up with a wonderful answer.
- 7:43Speaker 1: All right, I can see how he would arrive at
- 7:45Speaker 1: such a number, right or wrong.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Why don't we flip those cards? Steve says seventeen percent,
- 7:54Speaker 2: Chili says seventeen percent, Joanna says four percent, Clay says
- 7:59Speaker 2: four per Brent says four percent, and cal says seventeen percent.
- 8:05Speaker 2: The correct answer is four percent.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I knew it would be something like that, son of
- 8:10Speaker 1: a bitch, because they're kind of going like, oh, I
- 8:12Speaker 1: who knows that low?
- 8:14Speaker 2: Unprovoked alligator attacks do occasionally happen and should not be downplayed. However,
- 8:19Speaker 2: most are preventable and the fatality rate is low. Most
- 8:23Speaker 2: attacks are characterized by a single bidy.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Do you mean most are preventable?
- 8:27Speaker 1: That's you know who wrote this an alligator?
- 8:29Speaker 5: Yeah, Wally, I mean alligators do only live in a
- 8:35Speaker 5: very specific well the states.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I think most are preventable implies that stupid it wouldn't
- 8:41Speaker 2: have had Yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Do you live in Montana?
- 8:45Speaker 1: Well, I think they could have all moved to Montana.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Though it's never been a.
- 8:49Speaker 2: People who get stomped by a bison in Yellowstone Park.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I would say that most bison, unpleasant bison encounters are preventable.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Absolutely, Yeah. I think that a lot of alligator attacks
- 8:59Speaker 1: probably come from being like, oh my god, check out
- 9:01Speaker 1: that alloican, like I'm going to go over by that.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Allocate this in all the in all.
- 9:07Speaker 3: The animal human attack conflict videos that you watch that
- 9:11Speaker 3: you see like bison or whatever, gators are some of
- 9:13Speaker 3: the worst because what they'll when they do you guys
- 9:16Speaker 3: agree with me like the gruesome factor because they'll grab
- 9:19Speaker 3: somebody's hand and then I roll.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think there is just like a way
- 9:23Speaker 5: for a gator to get you a little bit.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You know, you want to hear a noise that keep
- 9:29Speaker 1: you up at night? Yes, yes, yes, we do listen
- 9:35Speaker 1: to this. My buddy and my buddy in Yazoo County,
- 9:38Speaker 1: Mississippi just sent me a video of it's on my
- 9:41Speaker 1: Instagram at Steven Ranella of a gator coming up and
- 9:47Speaker 1: grabbing a raccoon underneath the corn feeder. If I got
- 9:52Speaker 1: a good enough connection to play it, I.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Should have recorded Chili listen to this noise because my
- 9:56Speaker 5: roommate Chili, woke me up with what was not a
- 10:02Speaker 5: classic snore.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Come on, play the noise.
- 10:05Speaker 5: I looked over and he's up in bed like this
- 10:08Speaker 5: with his hooded sweatshirt on and he's trying to snore.
- 10:13Speaker 1: But he's got playing noise on your block. Come on,
- 10:16Speaker 1: I can't play it.
- 10:17Speaker 5: It's making more of type of noise that was scary.
- 10:22Speaker 6: Take you off the internet.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Who's real good at phones?
- 10:24Speaker 6: Take you off the Internet.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Well, question too. I deleted, deleted, who's good? I deleted
- 10:32Speaker 1: the video home.
- 10:33Speaker 6: What I mean is like, turn off your wife.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Just give me a second here, Well, that's what's throwing
- 10:38Speaker 1: it off.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yes, did you pause the recording?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Okay, he hasn't caught it yet. You'll know when he
- 10:50Speaker 1: catches it is a gator catching a coon.
- 10:57Speaker 5: That's not the gator making that noise. Yeah, that sounds
- 10:59Speaker 5: like when you wall down the tree man. Just I
- 11:04Speaker 5: know you're hosting randalm but no, no, next week, one
- 11:07Speaker 5: of our raccoons. I remember one time we were out,
- 11:10Speaker 5: me and our neighbor kids and everything. We're out swimming
- 11:12Speaker 5: in the lake and we're on our raft, which is
- 11:14Speaker 5: like way out in the lake, playing ball tag, and
- 11:19Speaker 5: from there.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You had to go like across the water, up the
- 11:22Speaker 1: hill to the house, up the hill to the garage.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And you could hear from playing ball tag that noise.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And it was because someone had hit the automatic garage door.
- 11:30Speaker 1: This is right when the garage doors becoming a thing,
- 11:33Speaker 1: and caught the raccoon like he was trying to get
- 11:37Speaker 1: in or get out before the door shut, and it
- 11:39Speaker 1: got him right around the mid section and you could
- 11:41Speaker 1: hear that noise from the raft wow, And I thought
- 11:44Speaker 1: it killed him. But you hit the button, the door
- 11:46Speaker 1: opened back up, and he just ran off and it
- 11:52Speaker 1: went through a big opening again.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Our dog due.
- 11:56Speaker 1: When you hit the garage door button at our house,
- 11:58Speaker 1: our dog immediately goes the other dire actually heard about.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Question two? What seven letter French term refers to a
- 12:09Speaker 2: small boat, often a dugout canoe, and is commonly associated
- 12:14Speaker 2: with the Cajun culture of the Louisiana marsh What seven
- 12:20Speaker 2: letter French term refers to a small boat, often a
- 12:23Speaker 2: dugout canoe, and is commonly associated with the Cajun culture
- 12:27Speaker 2: of the Louisiana marsh.
- 12:30Speaker 5: What a timely question?
- 12:32Speaker 6: How important is spelling?
- 12:36Speaker 3: If you if you can do it with six letters?
- 12:39Speaker 1: But you know what it is, it's French.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Somewhere the eg there will be generous. I think, yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 2: this is sort of a thematic episode like surroundings.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Steve objected to this.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Did we tell everybody we're in Louisiana we are in No?
- 12:59Speaker 3: He didn't set that up.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And then he's doing it regional, which I told him
- 13:02Speaker 1: I thought was a dumb idea.
- 13:03Speaker 2: And then I had several people come up to me
- 13:05Speaker 2: saying I heard Steve thinks this is a bad idea.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I think it's a good idea.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I think it's like people walking by.
- 13:12Speaker 6: No one was has the initials j P.
- 13:16Speaker 2: One has owns Chase Bank, one has the initials pt.
- 13:21Speaker 1: PTSD, se we do.
- 13:24Speaker 2: We all have our answers here.
- 13:25Speaker 5: And then there is this Cajun guy, Steve is Chili
- 13:28Speaker 5: still working.
- 13:29Speaker 6: On his chili.
- 13:30Speaker 1: How you doing, buddy? He don't have it, He's not
- 13:32Speaker 1: gonna get it.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Why don't we flip those cards over?
- 13:35Speaker 6: I feel like there's two answers for this one.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Steve says, p rogue. Everybody except for Chili says p rogue.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Everybody except for Chili, got it right?
- 13:45Speaker 6: And how do you accepted batto?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Different? Different? How?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Uh? I don't know.
- 13:58Speaker 4: You don't know, because I believe that you should accept battel.
- 14:01Speaker 6: You can so b a e au.
- 14:08Speaker 2: E au Is there not an X?
- 14:11Speaker 6: There's no x. Well.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Typically used to refer to narrow, flat bottom boats used
- 14:15Speaker 2: in the marshes of the Gulf, a pe rogue can
- 14:17Speaker 2: actually apply to any number of vessels. Meriwether Lewis used
- 14:21Speaker 2: the term to refer both to the cottonwood dugout canoes,
- 14:23Speaker 2: as well as two large rowboats utilized by the Core
- 14:26Speaker 2: of Discovery. Hank Williams Junior mentions these boats in his
- 14:29Speaker 2: nineteen sixty nine hit song Cajun Baby, which includes the
- 14:33Speaker 2: line eat lots of shrimp and crawfish right around in my.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Old p rogue.
- 14:39Speaker 3: It's right to it, and that one Tony, it's pretty straightforward.
- 14:47Speaker 2: The other line, he said, song it's like her teeth
- 14:50Speaker 2: or white, her hair is black. It's I mean, it's
- 14:52Speaker 2: very it's just very descriptive.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Die in the back of a Cadillac.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Question three. This fishing tackle manufact founded. Question three. This
- 15:04Speaker 2: fishing tackle manufacturer, founded in Philadelphia by German immigrant Auto Henzi,
- 15:11Speaker 2: boasts that its famous saltwater reels have caught more than
- 15:14Speaker 2: fourteen hundred world record fish. This fishing tackle manufacture, founded
- 15:22Speaker 2: in Philadelphia by German immigrant Auto Henzi, boasts that its
- 15:26Speaker 2: famous saltwater reels have caught more than fourteen hundred world
- 15:30Speaker 2: record fish.
- 15:31Speaker 1: E z z z z.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I'm trying to do the thing where you you want
- 15:38Speaker 2: everybody to get a point.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Oh, chill, you didn't know this, chilli, you didn't get
- 15:44Speaker 1: give me your little car. Question one did one yesterday?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Come on, chill, you still got zero?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Right?
- 15:51Speaker 2: I'm scorekeeping today For those at home, do we all
- 15:55Speaker 2: have an answer here?
- 15:57Speaker 6: Yes?
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yes?
- 15:59Speaker 2: Why don't we flip those cards over? Steve says Penn.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Chili says Penn. I'm raising an eyebrow with that. Janna
- 16:09Speaker 2: says Pen. Clay says Shimano. I wasn't gonna say zeb,
- 16:12Speaker 2: Grant says Penn. Cal says Pen. The correct answer is Penn.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Pens.
- 16:20Speaker 2: He founded the Pen Fishing Tackle Company in nineteen thirty two,
- 16:23Speaker 2: only ten years after he arrived in the United States
- 16:25Speaker 2: at the age of twenty five. Among them many notable
- 16:28Speaker 2: records caught on a pen reel is the one thousand
- 16:31Speaker 2: and eighty pound of Mako shark, landed in nineteen seventy
- 16:34Speaker 2: nine by Frank Mundas, who later served as the inspiration
- 16:37Speaker 2: for the character played by Robert Shaw in the film Jaws.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Question four, you know, uh Munda's he caught a big
- 16:48Speaker 1: one that IGFA didn't accept because they handed the rod.
- 16:55Speaker 3: He.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I can't remember if he hooked it or as Mate
- 16:57Speaker 1: hooked it. I think Munda's hooked it, but then he
- 17:02Speaker 1: wanted the boat turned like in a particular fashion and
- 17:05Speaker 1: at some point hands it to his mate or vice versa.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I can't remember. And Igfa rejected the thing because he
- 17:11Speaker 1: had went and harpooned like a three thousand or some
- 17:15Speaker 1: obscene great white off a whale carcass, and then people
- 17:22Speaker 1: were looking down on it. Well, you didn't actually catch it,
- 17:24Speaker 1: you harpooned it. So he's like, oh, I'll go catch one.
- 17:27Speaker 1: So he goes catches one off a whale carcass. Now
- 17:30Speaker 1: it's been commented that Frank Mund has had an uncanny
- 17:32Speaker 1: ability to locate whale carcasses till the fish white sharks off. Yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but catches this giant and they do a switcher root
- 17:43Speaker 1: and it was the record was rejected.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Huh. Question four, speaking of the IGFA, Question four, how
- 17:50Speaker 2: many species must an angler catching a single date in
- 17:54Speaker 2: order to achieve an IGFA inshore grand slam? How many
- 18:02Speaker 2: species must an angler catch in a single day in
- 18:06Speaker 2: order to achieve an igf a inshore grand slam?
- 18:14Speaker 6: Take a good guess, I got, I got a good guess.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I thought this was going to be a question that
- 18:19Speaker 2: received ridicule for its level of difficulty.
- 18:22Speaker 1: It is a highly difficult one. Suit you got.
- 18:26Speaker 6: Well, I'll comment after you revealed.
- 18:29Speaker 1: You're just taking a stab, just taking a stab.
- 18:34Speaker 6: You We're not. You don't have to name the species, correct.
- 18:38Speaker 2: The number of how many species? How many different species
- 18:41Speaker 2: do you need to catch in a single day?
- 18:44Speaker 3: So really, Brent, you've got a one an infinity chance
- 18:46Speaker 3: of getting it right so far?
- 18:49Speaker 2: All, well, that's assuming they're infinity different species.
- 18:53Speaker 4: I think if you guys think about the question and
- 18:56Speaker 4: the words and the question.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Are you helping your competitors?
- 18:59Speaker 1: I mean, like do it again?
- 19:03Speaker 2: But I feel like there how many species? How many
- 19:07Speaker 2: different species must an angler catching a single day in
- 19:10Speaker 2: order to achieve an IGF a inshore grand.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Where are they talking about?
- 19:16Speaker 2: It doesn't matter.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I'm going back with my original answer. We all.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Do, We all have answers. I why don't we turn
- 19:27Speaker 2: our cards over?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Steve says three, I'm thinking bonefish, permit tarpin.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Steve says three, Chili says four, Gianna says four, Clay
- 19:37Speaker 2: says four, Brent says four, and Cal says four. We
- 19:41Speaker 2: have a correct answer in the room. It's three. Whoa
- 19:46Speaker 2: grand slam? A grand slam is defined as an individual.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Angler catching at least.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Three of the eligible species within a category. A super
- 19:57Speaker 2: Grand Slam requires catching four different species within a category.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Is there a super duper?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Any other guesses on what you get when you get five?
- 20:08Speaker 1: The Ultimate Super Slam, the Fantasy slams, the marketing department,
- 20:15Speaker 1: they're like the slam things really catching on, can do
- 20:19Speaker 1: some expansion.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Five.
- 20:22Speaker 4: I'm writing a letter to them because where it all
- 20:25Speaker 4: started was a baseball Grand Slam and how many runs.
- 20:31Speaker 1: A Grand Slam of sheep. But it's like bonefish, permit,
- 20:34Speaker 1: tarp and I think it's out of the keys.
- 20:36Speaker 2: So they have they have all these different categories. You
- 20:38Speaker 2: can have a tune of Grand Slam and Track Grand
- 20:40Speaker 2: Slam and Insure Grand Slam. So anything within those categories,
- 20:45Speaker 2: it's like pick three. If you caught them in a
- 20:46Speaker 2: single day, you can get recognized for an Insure Grand Slam.
- 20:50Speaker 2: The species in the categories follows bonefish, snook, cubert snapper,
- 20:55Speaker 2: tarpan permit, snubnosed pompino, giant travali, mister fish, bluefinn travali,
- 21:01Speaker 2: and milkfish. Question five, name every state that borders the
- 21:10Speaker 2: Gulf of Mexico.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Don't build up, so they don't wear it down.
- 21:15Speaker 2: So it's not a big fan of these questions day.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I thought you did to have higher spirits after that
- 21:21Speaker 2: last one. Name every state that borders the Gulf of Mexico.
- 21:27Speaker 3: That's a pretty good one, Thank you, Clay.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Did you make that up? I did.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Name every state that borders the Gulf of Mexico, which
- 21:43Speaker 2: happens to be very near our current location.
- 21:46Speaker 6: How many are there?
- 21:48Speaker 2: That's part of the question. I I initially included the number,
- 21:55Speaker 2: and then I thought about who was playing today, and
- 21:57Speaker 2: I thought we needed to make a couple of these
- 21:59Speaker 2: questions a little tricky.
- 22:01Speaker 3: United States States, United States.
- 22:03Speaker 6: Still pretty good about it.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I could keep going and start getting it wrong. I
- 22:08Speaker 1: tried to move down into old Mexico.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I could be challenged, but I couldn't fact check you.
- 22:15Speaker 2: You know that'd be challenging, So just go ahead and
- 22:17Speaker 2: do it.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I know you're not doing little tid are doing little ti.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I'm trying to keep them short. I'm trying to keep
- 22:22Speaker 2: them short.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Hey, I tell you the tidbit i'd like on this one, Yes,
- 22:25Speaker 3: is uh the history of the Florida Panhandle. It's kind
- 22:29Speaker 3: of an awkward yeah, geographical Uh.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Where they're like we need even more coastline. We didn't
- 22:36Speaker 1: get enough.
- 22:38Speaker 3: The reason. The reason I recently read about it, but
- 22:42Speaker 3: I forgot. But it was something pretty interesting, like you
- 22:44Speaker 3: know somehow Florida was just like, you know what, and
- 22:48Speaker 3: we're going to take all this. You know what book
- 22:51Speaker 3: you might enjoy, Clay.
- 22:52Speaker 1: We have a book at our house called How the
- 22:54Speaker 1: States Got Their Shapes? Really and you can do any
- 22:57Speaker 1: state and it talks you all about how the states
- 22:59Speaker 1: got their shape.
- 23:00Speaker 2: And I think that's also a like a TV s.
- 23:02Speaker 2: It was on the History Channel. It was I don't
- 23:04Speaker 2: know which came first? Do we all have answers?
- 23:08Speaker 1: Here?
- 23:09Speaker 2: We flip our cards over.
- 23:12Speaker 1: One second, I drop my on the crack.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Steve says Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. Chile says Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Janni says Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas. Clay Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Princes Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas. Gallas says Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi.
- 23:38Speaker 2: The correct answers are Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Why did you doing it out of order? I could
- 23:45Speaker 1: see doing it west to east or east to west,
- 23:46Speaker 1: but I don't get the hole jumping around.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I'm reading them as you have them on the card.
- 23:52Speaker 2: It's easier, familiar answer.
- 23:54Speaker 1: You even jumped around, Buddy.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Well, I read those. I read those in the.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Order of their admission into the Union.
- 24:02Speaker 2: The length, the length of the coach line, which is
- 24:05Speaker 2: my funipe.
- 24:11Speaker 1: All the way around. So Steve, that's that's the.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Last craft Brent and Cal got that one right.
- 24:16Speaker 1: That's crafty.
- 24:17Speaker 2: So Louisiana has According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
- 24:21Speaker 2: the shoreline knowledges of these five states are as follows
- 24:25Speaker 2: Louisiana seven thousand, seven hundred twenty one, Florida five thousand,
- 24:29Speaker 2: ninety five, Texas three thousand, three hundred and fifty nine,
- 24:33Speaker 2: Alabama six hundred and seven, and Mississippi three hundred and
- 24:37Speaker 2: twenty nine.
- 24:38Speaker 3: What I don't understand is how Louisiana has seven thousand
- 24:41Speaker 3: miles of coast.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy, isn't it. Now.
- 24:44Speaker 2: There's there's different ways you can measure it depending on
- 24:48Speaker 2: title inlets, and so I think this. I think like,
- 24:52Speaker 2: if you're measuring it based on title inlets and what's
- 24:55Speaker 2: touching water, then that's that's how you get that high number.
- 24:59Speaker 2: But if you're d on a line around the edge
- 25:01Speaker 2: of the body of water, there's something called a shoreline paradox,
- 25:07Speaker 2: which is that there's no real way to measure coastline. Really,
- 25:14Speaker 2: that's that's a that's a man who's right there. That's it.
- 25:18Speaker 2: That's a man explaining something he doesn't know much about.
- 25:22Speaker 2: We are now halfway through our game of trivia. Phil
- 25:24Speaker 2: I will update the scoreboard here as our official scorekeeper
- 25:27Speaker 2: for today. In last place, we have Chili with one
- 25:33Speaker 2: We have a three way tie for third with Giannie,
- 25:39Speaker 2: Clay and Cal with three points apiece. We have Brent
- 25:43Speaker 2: and Steve in a two way tie for first with
- 25:46Speaker 2: four points apiece.
- 25:50Speaker 6: Anybody's game?
- 25:50Speaker 2: Shall we continue on with this game of trivia? Questions six?
- 26:01Speaker 2: What four letter term? And I will I will specify
- 26:04Speaker 2: that's a plural term. What four letter plural term refers
- 26:07Speaker 2: to the bony or soft spines that support the membranes
- 26:11Speaker 2: of a fish's fin.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Hunt It's it again, what I got confused about the
- 26:19Speaker 1: whole plural and not plural thing.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Well, I wanted to just what four letter term refers
- 26:24Speaker 2: to the bony or soft spines that support the membranes
- 26:28Speaker 2: of a fish's fin. Hmmm, yeah, anybody need that one again?
- 26:39Speaker 5: Like this one?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Four letters, four letters plural. Let's see there, See, I
- 26:46Speaker 2: knew i'd win you over.
- 26:53Speaker 7: And Randall, they're twenty Let's do some quick statistical four
- 26:58Speaker 7: letter term and that's a plural term refers to the
- 27:01Speaker 7: bony or soft spines that support the membranes of a
- 27:05Speaker 7: fish's fin.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Okay, listen, guys, there's twenty six letters in the alphabet,
- 27:14Speaker 3: and how many options are Yeah, like, so statistically say
- 27:20Speaker 3: if we just and we assume it's plural since they
- 27:22Speaker 3: gave that in the questions, so we know it ends
- 27:24Speaker 3: in an S. So we're okay.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I tell you, guys, the world, what's that.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Shoreline paradox?
- 27:34Speaker 1: No? So I went, uh skry diving.
- 27:37Speaker 5: Yeah, it's subjective. I just want to tell you right now.
- 27:40Speaker 1: No, hear me out.
- 27:41Speaker 5: There's hard math problems for math people. There's hard math
- 27:45Speaker 5: problems for me. Very different things.
- 27:49Speaker 1: This is the hardest one though, Okay, Let's say you
- 27:54Speaker 1: have you're a skydiver, and you have two parachutes, you
- 27:56Speaker 1: got your main shoot in your reserve choote, and there's
- 27:59Speaker 1: a one in blank. Okay, I don't know what. I
- 28:03Speaker 1: can't remember what the numbers. Let's say there's a one
- 28:05Speaker 1: in four thousand that your main shoot will fail, and
- 28:12Speaker 1: there's a one in four thousand that your secondary shoot
- 28:16Speaker 1: will fail. How would you ever figure out what the
- 28:20Speaker 1: odds are that those one in four thousand and one
- 28:24Speaker 1: in four thousand would intersect. You don't need to answer that.
- 28:29Speaker 1: That is a hard math problem.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Yeah, go on, I'm sure someone will write it. Someone
- 28:38Speaker 2: tell us that it's not.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Someone that already has figured it out.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I think I know the answer, but I don't want
- 28:42Speaker 2: to get into it.
- 28:45Speaker 1: There's someone that's already figured it out. Do we have
- 28:47Speaker 1: our anemi?
- 28:48Speaker 5: Blood pressure started going up. We've out the time he
- 28:52Speaker 5: got to the second shoot.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Those cards, Steve says, raise Chili, Steve says, Gianna says tits,
- 29:05Speaker 2: Oh my god. Clay says bus, those are not the three.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I know you're just going for rand Brand says Fins,
- 29:15Speaker 2: and col says rais. The correct answer is rais Chili.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Nice work, Steve, cal and Chili. Steve, who is and Chili?
- 29:26Speaker 5: That's right, that's right.
- 29:29Speaker 2: To count the rays on a fish fin, you should
- 29:31Speaker 2: count the base of the fin as the rays branch
- 29:33Speaker 2: out away from the body. The last two rays coming
- 29:36Speaker 2: from the body are often counted as one because they
- 29:38Speaker 2: may sprout from a single place under the surface. Rays
- 29:42Speaker 2: are not connected to the spine and are controlled by
- 29:45Speaker 2: the muscles to which they're attached.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Did not know that?
- 29:49Speaker 3: Did you get right?
- 29:50Speaker 1: Right? No? Oh? I knew that.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I didn't what question seven?
- 29:55Speaker 1: So did Chili? I didn't know that. I knew the answer.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I didn't know I didn't know that little tidbit that
- 30:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of. When you clean the fish.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, when the backbone falls apart, it doesn't
- 30:05Speaker 1: have that little poop. Yeah.
- 30:07Speaker 2: What nineteen ninety nine? This is question seven?
- 30:10Speaker 1: What?
- 30:10Speaker 2: Nineteen ninety nine film starring Bill Pullman as US Fish
- 30:14Speaker 2: and Wildlife Service investigator Jack Wells, depicts the hunt for
- 30:18Speaker 2: a giant crocodile that is terrorizing the fictional community of
- 30:22Speaker 2: Black Lake, Maine.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Oh my god?
- 30:26Speaker 2: What it's a film starring a Fish and Wildlife Service investigator.
- 30:31Speaker 2: I feel like it's within the universe. Chilly read the
- 30:34Speaker 2: whole thing again. Chili's got it, Chili's got it.
- 30:38Speaker 6: What.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Nineteen ninety nine film starring Bill Pullman as US Fish
- 30:43Speaker 2: and Wildlife Service investigator Jack Wells depicts the hunt for
- 30:47Speaker 2: a giant crocodile that is terrorizing the fictional community of
- 30:52Speaker 2: Black Lake, Maine.
- 30:54Speaker 6: It's a crocodile.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It's a crocodile.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Keenest picture everything about how that movie would go. I've
- 31:02Speaker 1: never heard that it exists.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Somebody gets I think you've heard of this one.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Well.
- 31:07Speaker 5: It starts with old Bill Pullman going about his normal routine,
- 31:12Speaker 5: goes into the coffee shop.
- 31:15Speaker 2: After a long crime of seeing the darkest thunderbelly of
- 31:18Speaker 2: the world.
- 31:19Speaker 5: Maybe he just got a road killed deer off the road.
- 31:21Speaker 7: There's also a quirky scientist who his wife's nicest ship.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Miss him because he's always working.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Yes, and then for some reason they have to find
- 31:35Speaker 5: a crocodile expert. That's how they always go.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I picture somebody to find someone find.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet, I bet one of his kids got killed.
- 31:46Speaker 1: It's a crocodile.
- 31:47Speaker 2: It's a crocodile terrorizing the fictional community of Black Lake, Maine.
- 31:53Speaker 5: I'll give you a hint. The first two words are
- 31:55Speaker 5: after a while.
- 31:59Speaker 2: You should know this. I feel like you're not trying.
- 32:02Speaker 5: Is that not it?
- 32:03Speaker 2: I can't read the last word.
- 32:11Speaker 5: I know this film. I've never seen it.
- 32:15Speaker 2: But are we ready to flip our cards?
- 32:17Speaker 6: No? And Phil?
- 32:18Speaker 2: It fills juiced up. Look you feel back there?
- 32:20Speaker 1: He's excited, Steve, Steve.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Says croc Chili says Lake Placid. Gianna says crocs Let's
- 32:30Speaker 2: just continue. Uh well, Steve, that's what Clay says after
- 32:36Speaker 2: a crocodile in Maine. Brent says crosilla. Cal says what
- 32:41Speaker 2: lies beneath.
- 32:43Speaker 5: So here's the deal. There is an alligator, crocodile.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Movie does star Billy us, fish and wildlife.
- 32:52Speaker 5: The name of the lake, which the name of the
- 32:54Speaker 5: lake in that movie is Lake Placid.
- 32:58Speaker 2: The fictional community of Black Lake, Maine. What's the answer
- 33:03Speaker 2: is Lake Placid? What the hell they call it.
- 33:05Speaker 3: The Lake Placid?
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
- 33:11Speaker 2: It's a nicely done chili. Let me add that one
- 33:14Speaker 2: to the total. Well, it's it's sort of a haunting.
- 33:18Speaker 2: It's sort of a haunting name and it also is
- 33:20Speaker 2: sort of ironic because it's not a calm one.
- 33:23Speaker 1: It's about a shark. It's killing everyone in the Atlantic Ocean.
- 33:27Speaker 1: The name of the movie the Pacific wouldn't It's.
- 33:31Speaker 5: Like expectations for give me a question again. I'm so confused.
- 33:39Speaker 6: What.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Nineteen ninety nine film starring Bill Pullman as US Fish
- 33:43Speaker 2: and Wildlife Service investigator Jack Wells, depicts the hunt for
- 33:48Speaker 2: a giant crocodile that is terrorizing the fictional community of
- 33:52Speaker 2: Black Lake, Maine.
- 33:53Speaker 3: I mean they live in black like but blake Plaid.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Classid was among several campy nineties creature features, including Deep
- 34:00Speaker 2: Blue Sea and Anaconda. Betty White steals the show as
- 34:03Speaker 2: the foulmouth Dolores Bickerman, an eccentric local who, it is revealed,
- 34:07Speaker 2: has been secretly feeding the creature cows for years. Roger
- 34:11Speaker 2: Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times game that gave the
- 34:14Speaker 2: film one out of four stars, describing it as quote
- 34:17Speaker 2: completely wrongheaded from beginning to end.
- 34:20Speaker 1: The woman's name is Bickerman. Yes, in the Simpsons the Principles,
- 34:24Speaker 1: mister Bitterman.
- 34:28Speaker 5: So what you're saying is Lake Placid isn't the name
- 34:31Speaker 5: of any lake in this fictional world.
- 34:33Speaker 3: That's the stupidest question.
- 34:35Speaker 5: That is a Yeah, that was so misleading.
- 34:37Speaker 2: I feel like it's a question about an investigation of animal.
- 34:41Speaker 2: It's a movie about animals attacking people and the investigators
- 34:45Speaker 2: from the Fish and Wildlife Service. I feel like that's
- 34:46Speaker 2: a squarely spencer with them.
- 34:48Speaker 1: No, no, no, spencer. What makes it dumb? Is the answer?
- 34:52Speaker 1: Good job chili question, Good job chili question eight. Yeah,
- 34:56Speaker 1: had you said name this movie that has this?
- 35:01Speaker 2: I feel like I gave you the name of the
- 35:03Speaker 2: main character the plot of the movie, but.
- 35:06Speaker 5: Then you literally said the name of the lake, which
- 35:13Speaker 5: I said.
- 35:13Speaker 2: The community of Black Lake, Maine.
- 35:16Speaker 5: You said Lake Plaid in New York.
- 35:22Speaker 2: It's it's it's a lake in the same region. Question eight.
- 35:25Speaker 2: The Casian term for what flowering plant.
- 35:29Speaker 5: You don't handle being battered this well.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I think that was a perfectly worded question about something
- 35:35Speaker 2: that you didn't know much about. I believe What Lies
- 35:38Speaker 2: Beneath is a movie about ghosts.
- 35:40Speaker 5: We can talk about it later.
- 35:42Speaker 2: The Cajun term for what flowering plant native to East
- 35:46Speaker 2: Africa and sometimes called ladies fingers due to the shape
- 35:49Speaker 2: of its long, slender seed pods, gives its name to
- 35:55Speaker 2: the dish of gumbo. The Cajun term for what flowering plant,
- 36:03Speaker 2: native to East Africa and sometimes called lady's fingers due
- 36:07Speaker 2: to the shape of its long, slender seed pods, gives
- 36:10Speaker 2: gumbo its name.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I need to look at this question. Try to say
- 36:16Speaker 1: it like six more times. I'll rephrase it please.
- 36:21Speaker 2: The Casuan term for what flowering plant gives gumbo its name. Hint.
- 36:26Speaker 2: This plant is native to East Africa and sometimes is
- 36:29Speaker 2: called ladies fingers due to the shape of its long,
- 36:31Speaker 2: slender seed pods.
- 36:36Speaker 1: One more time.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Gumbo okay takes its name from the Casian term for
- 36:43Speaker 2: a flowering plant that is native to East Africa and
- 36:47Speaker 2: sometimes called lady's fingers due to the shape of the long,
- 36:51Speaker 2: slender seed pods.
- 36:53Speaker 1: We need to know the name of this plant plant.
- 36:58Speaker 2: The Casun term for what flowering plant gives gumbo its name. Hint.
- 37:06Speaker 2: The plant is native to East Africa and sometimes is
- 37:10Speaker 2: called lady's fingers due to the shape of its long,
- 37:12Speaker 2: slender seed pods.
- 37:15Speaker 5: And no matter what you do with gumbo, there is
- 37:17Speaker 5: a plant that.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Is native to East Africa. It is sometimes called lady's
- 37:21Speaker 2: fingers due to the shape of its long, slender seed pods.
- 37:24Speaker 2: The Casion term for this plant gives gumbo its name.
- 37:27Speaker 2: What is the name of the plant?
- 37:31Speaker 6: Is this plant used in gumbo?
- 37:35Speaker 1: Objection?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Did you just do a slight nod?
- 37:37Speaker 1: He did? Objection?
- 37:39Speaker 3: Did he did?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Like a quarter inch nod? Like a quarter in secret?
- 37:43Speaker 6: Nod? You over here writing answers on Chili's.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Like now and then.
- 37:51Speaker 6: If he answers my hint. Everybody gets the hint we do.
- 37:55Speaker 2: We all have answers here. Oh no, there's a lot happening.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Why don't we flip our cards over here? Steve says Okra,
- 38:12Speaker 2: Chili sort of waves. Gianna says Okra, Clay says Okra,
- 38:17Speaker 2: Brent says Okra, and Calusa's sassafras. The correct answer is Okra.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:25Speaker 3: The what threw me off, though, is that that's not
- 38:29Speaker 3: a Cajun Is that a Cajun name?
- 38:31Speaker 2: What's the Ocasion name for Okrah is gombo?
- 38:36Speaker 6: G See?
- 38:37Speaker 1: I thought you were looking for that, Like, I got
- 38:40Speaker 1: it right?
- 38:40Speaker 6: Cool?
- 38:41Speaker 2: The Cajun term, it was poorly crafted. Here, the Cajun
- 38:46Speaker 2: term for Okrah gives gumbo its name. Yeah, does that
- 38:50Speaker 2: make sense? It was a great question. Question, is the
- 38:53Speaker 2: plant gives gumbo its name?

- 39:29Speaker 3: You know how Randall wrote that question.
- 39:31Speaker 1: He wrote it out on a piece of paper, and
- 39:33Speaker 1: then tore each word out and then put it in
- 39:36Speaker 1: a bowl and stirred them up, and then put the
- 39:38Speaker 1: words back, and then wrote all those words down on
- 39:41Speaker 1: his computer.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Gombo is the Cajun term for okra. It comes from
- 39:46Speaker 2: the word gombo in the Bombara language spoken by many

- 40:30Speaker 5: If anybody can understand them.
- 40:33Speaker 2: I think you're being obtuse.
- 40:38Speaker 6: Uh.
- 40:39Speaker 2: I don't even know now if I wrote down that

- 40:58Speaker 6: What happened to your normal score?
- 41:01Speaker 2: He doesn't have a headset.
- 41:04Speaker 1: In the same movie. I've been only watching Brent and
- 41:07Speaker 1: I should have pulled out in lead Steve.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yes, Steve, I believe you have seven points.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe I pulled out in the league because
- 41:15Speaker 1: he he faltered. Yes on the on the fish fan.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Chile has three points, Cal has four points, Jannie, Clay
- 41:24Speaker 2: and Brent have five, and Steve has seven. That doesn't
- 41:28Speaker 2: sound right now, Steve I should have by one. Brent
- 41:32Speaker 2: has six, Steve has seven. Question nine, which sitting American
- 41:40Speaker 2: President undertook an eleven day fishing trip in the Gulf

- 42:41Speaker 1: Give me a minute.
- 42:43Speaker 5: This is really showing a gap in my presidents here.
- 42:50Speaker 3: God just whomp. I know what you're thinking, Steve, but
- 42:55Speaker 3: doesn't make sense.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's enough, you know what, Brent, I don't have

- 43:25Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 43:27Speaker 2: I was pleased with this one.
- 43:28Speaker 1: That's well crafted.
- 43:31Speaker 2: It's sort of fun too, because it's not really a
- 43:33Speaker 2: hunting and fishing question, but it expands your understanding, but
- 43:38Speaker 2: it doesn't require it doesn't require specialized.
- 43:44Speaker 1: That's too much hand. I should change my answer.
- 43:52Speaker 2: It's a dude, are we ready here? Flip your cards?
- 43:57Speaker 1: Wait?
- 43:58Speaker 5: Wait, wait, oh sorry?
- 44:02Speaker 1: What's he? What's he got going on over there?
- 44:08Speaker 2: Steve says FDR. Chili waves off. Jannis says Cleveland, Clay

- 44:29Speaker 2: But he spent a lot of time fishing while he
- 44:31Speaker 2: was president.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Is yet, did you have polio? Yeah?
- 44:34Speaker 2: FDR was a passionate angler, and when he first ran
- 44:36Speaker 2: in nineteen thirty two against the incumbent Herbert Hoover, the
- 44:41Speaker 2: humorist Will Rogers equipped that the election quote will be
- 44:44Speaker 2: settled on fish, setting aside economic policy and the Great Depression.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Rodgers wrote that voters faced a clear choice between the
- 44:51Speaker 2: two candidates. Quote, do you want a deep sea fisherman
- 44:55Speaker 2: in the White House flounders and cod meaning Roosevelt, or
- 44:58Speaker 2: a big trout and perchman like Hoover kind of So
- 45:05Speaker 2: I would have probably said, well, probably Hoover. Yeah, I'd
- 45:08Speaker 2: been I'd like a trout and person.
- 45:10Speaker 5: Joh.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Would you like to know how I knew that one because.
- 45:14Speaker 1: He was president in thirty seven?
- 45:15Speaker 2: Well, but yeah, but what confirmed that about the Great
- 45:18Speaker 2: Depression in World War Well.
- 45:19Speaker 3: What confirmed it for me was the Flood Control Acts
- 45:23Speaker 3: of nineteen thirty eight put in effect by Roosevelt, where
- 45:29Speaker 3: the basically started the whole process of the Army Corps
- 45:33Speaker 3: of Engineers having this like incredible amount of power and
- 45:36Speaker 3: damning all the rivers.
- 45:38Speaker 1: It wasn't that he presided over the country during the
- 45:41Speaker 1: Great Depression in the beginning of World War Two.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it was, That's just what I remember.
- 45:47Speaker 3: It was the Flood Control Act of nineteen thirty eight,
- 45:49Speaker 3: which was spawned from the Great Misisippi River flood of
- 45:53Speaker 3: nineteen twenty seven, that shifted the course of America. But anyway,
- 45:56Speaker 3: and we're sitting on that river right now.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Happened to be happened to be far better method than
- 46:01Speaker 5: your random alphabet letters.
- 46:05Speaker 1: A chance I know which is three?
- 46:09Speaker 2: Now, Before we move on to our final question, here's
- 46:12Speaker 2: a quick recap of our answers so far for the
- 46:14Speaker 2: listeners at home. Question one four percent, question two, p
- 46:19Speaker 2: ROW question three, PENN question four three, Question five, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Alabama,
- 46:28Speaker 2: and Mississippi Question six, Rays, question seven, Lake Placid, Question eight, OKRA,
- 46:35Speaker 2: question nine, FDR question ten. Name three of the five
- 46:43Speaker 2: largest tributaries of the Mississippi River measured by volume of input.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Tell me that one again.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Name three of the five largest tributaries of the Mississippi
- 46:55Speaker 2: River measured by volume of input hm hm, excluding the
- 47:07Speaker 2: Upper Mississippi because I'm dis counting that as the Mississippi,
- 47:13Speaker 2: if that makes sense. So we're looking for three of
- 47:19Speaker 2: the five largest tributaries of the Mississippi River measured by
- 47:23Speaker 2: volume of input.
- 47:25Speaker 1: It's a couple of chip shots near and then it
- 47:26Speaker 1: gets a little tricky.
- 47:28Speaker 2: That's why it's fun.
- 47:31Speaker 3: If y'all listen to the four part burgery series on
- 47:35Speaker 3: the Mississippi River. I did two years ago.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I participated in that and then I can't remember it. Hmm.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Name three of the five largest tributaries of the Mississippi
- 47:54Speaker 2: River measured by volume of input.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 48:01Speaker 6: Damn, let's suit you.
- 48:04Speaker 3: You're not gonna change your answer. I'm gonna show my
- 48:07Speaker 3: card and then he's gonna change his answer. I could
- 48:11Speaker 3: be wrong. I'm confident on two.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I saw what you got.
- 48:15Speaker 2: I like what you got. And I think at this
- 48:16Speaker 2: point Steve still has a one point lead.
- 48:18Speaker 1: No matter what if I falter, I'm still good. But
- 48:21Speaker 1: I don't know unless.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Like you falter, but Brent gets it right. I think
- 48:24Speaker 2: we move on to a tiebreaker.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Do we remember if I falter and he gets it right.
- 48:29Speaker 2: I believe you have a one point lead on Brent.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 48:33Speaker 6: That's the pressure.
- 48:37Speaker 2: How's Chili doing?
- 48:38Speaker 1: Suit? You got? Come on, let me suit? You got
- 48:42Speaker 1: what I'm gonna change? In mind?
- 48:47Speaker 3: Real cheating That means Steve loses. What are the consequences
- 48:50Speaker 3: of that? Oh listen, man, I'm not gonna I'm not.
- 48:55Speaker 5: You can.
- 48:58Speaker 2: What if what if you have? Do you have your

- 49:04Speaker 1: on the path. You got one more, very obvious one
- 49:07Speaker 1: you need to put down, Steve.
- 49:10Speaker 3: But if you're a criminal, you kind of know what
- 49:12Speaker 3: you're up against, like like you know what the charges are,
- 49:16Speaker 3: so you wig if it's worth it or not.
- 49:18Speaker 1: You get again, what did you put again? I'm not
- 49:21Speaker 1: haven't sure anybody what I put. I know just is
- 49:24Speaker 1: that has everyone done on want flash it.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Real needs Brent needs one more answer here that.
- 49:29Speaker 1: That is the river he wrote down. Oh hi, Ryan,

- 50:11Speaker 2: I'm not trying to encourage him, but I I don't.
- 50:14Speaker 2: I don't want him to just give up.
- 50:15Speaker 1: It's it was known for a long time as the
- 50:18Speaker 1: dark and bloody river. This is I'm ready, all right.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Why don't we flip those cards over? Steve says, the Missouri,
- 50:31Speaker 2: the Ohio, the Illinois. Okay, okay, okay, Chili says the
- 50:38Speaker 2: Missouri and the Illinois. Gianna says the Missouri, the Illinois,
- 50:42Speaker 2: and the Ohio. Clay says the Missouri, the Ohio and
- 50:47Speaker 2: the Arkansas. Brent says the Missouri, the Ohio, and the Arkansas.
- 50:53Speaker 5: I'm too embarrassed.
- 50:54Speaker 3: And Rita, would you say.
- 50:59Speaker 5: I'm just over thinking.
- 51:03Speaker 2: The answer is the Missouri.
