- 0:00SPEAKER_01: But after a while they they let me go.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: And um a lot of people had been talking uh about real estate and um you know how well I ran a business and how great I was at sales and um so you know that was probably the best thing honestly that they could have ever done for me.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Hey leaders, I'm Jake, a loan officer obsessed with business growth and finding out what's actually working in our market.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: If that sounds useful, hit follow.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Now, this week's leader.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: All right, we're recording.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Alyssa, thanks for uh hopping on and doing this with me.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you, Jake.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: I appreciate you having me.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: So you're with Agent Owned, and you've built your business with a niche focus most recently on 55 plus in Nexton in those communities.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Um but I want to back up.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: You've actually got a really interesting background.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: You were running a boutique shop on King Street before you did real estate.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: So, what made you walk away from that and dive into real estate originally?
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: That's a that's a great question, actually.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: And I'll be completely transparent.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Um, I'll I'll even back up to you know to college.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: You know, I was I was a fashion merchandising and marketing major.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Um, I knew I was gonna be a big fashion guru.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: I was gonna make a career out of it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Um, got promoted to management about two weeks out of college, um, was running boutiques in Boston, then um came to Charleston, um, started running a boutique on King Street, and um they thought they found the best managers and slip spread.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And we uh we we did great.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: We we doubled the numbers when I came on board.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Um, but they, you know, the owners definitely had very, very high expectations um for their business, as any business owner should.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Um and to be quite frank, like I couldn't, I could not match my own numbers.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: So um, you know, they they gave they definitely gave me lots of opportunity.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: Um, but after a while they they let me go.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: And um a lot of people had been talking uh about real estate and um you know how well I ran a business and how great I was at sales.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: And um so you know, that was probably the best thing, honestly, that they could have ever done for me.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, they weren't my favorite people at the time, but um now we're we're great friends.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Um and I've I've thanked them for giving me that opportunity because I probably wouldn't have taken the leap, honestly, on my on my own.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's amazing sometimes how those really bad situations that in the moment feel just like so life-stopping, you know, end up being the biggest door opening.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: So that's I thought it was the end of the world.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: And the fashion merchandising, that doesn't surprise me at all.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: So if you're listening to this and you're not watching on YouTube, um, Alyssa is dressed amazingly and the background decor is is absolutely perfect right now.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: So it all fits very vertically in my mind right now.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Um, so what year was this?
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: What year did you actually get started in real estate then?
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Um, so that was seven years ago.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: So uh it was well, it was 2019, so just over seven years ago.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: So your first year in the business, we were chatting before, and you were actually really hard on yourself.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: And you know, now you're one of the top producers in our area.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So I was surprised to hear that.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: But that first year, what was going on and why were you kind of you know hard on yourself during that time?
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, just like being in retail, you know, I I have big, lofty goals.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: And I I don't need a business owner or anyone to really push me out towards those goals.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: I'm my I'm my tough toughest critic.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm a terrible boss to work for us.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, I I set big goals for myself, and you know, I it did take me a while to, you know, get my first transaction.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: My first transaction was my mother, thank goodness actually.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: But um, you know, it took a while to really get my business off the ground.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, I was investing so much time and money on on leads and you know, trying to find my focus and my niche.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: And I was getting I was getting discouraged because I wanted to be a top producer, you know, immediately and you know realize it does not work like that.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Uh aren't aren't moms the best?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: I love that here.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I was like, mom, you have to buy this house because I need to practice writing a contract.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: I need I need some live reps here, mom.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's go.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Um, I I I want to stay in that spot just for a little bit because I I do think there's a lot of people um that listen to this that get into it, and then it's that total punch in the gut where it's like, you know, holy smokes, this is a lot harder than I thought this was going to be, and totally can relate, you know.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Um, so I've been in that spot too.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: So what kept you from walking away during that time?
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Like you get in, it's hard.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: What kept you in the business?
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Um I was so passionate about it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, I again, this was this was kind of a dream of mine that I I didn't think I would, you know, ever take the leap.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: So um I I was just I was so passionate about it.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I love I love homes, any kind of home, and I love helping people fulfill their dreams, whether it's you know, buying their first home or buying their last home or moving away, moving back home to be with family.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Um every transaction that year was so meaningful and so fulfilling, and I felt like there was a bigger purpose, you know.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, when speaking out loud, like you know, couldn't God had that plan for me.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: And um, well, you gotta listen when he says when he says to do something.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: So, what was the turning point then?
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: So, when did you think, okay, I can actually be a top producer out uh at this, and when did you really start leaning into that mindset?
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would say um, gosh, I was probably probably almost five years ago now.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and it it was it was one person that took a chance on me.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Um I really I decided to go very hard because everyone has to, you know, find find their leads, find their people.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: Um, so I went hard on for sale by owners.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Um and you know, just I my goal was to set up like three for sale by owner listing appointments a week.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Um so I would just, you know, call, call, call and text, sex, hexed until I got them.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: And there was one in the 55 plus community of four seasons here in Somerville, and they were having a broker open house.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: And I was the only one that showed up to their broker open house.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: And so it really ended up turning into a listing appointment.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: We sat down, we talked, we really hit it off, and they said, Well, have you ever done 55 plus before?
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: And I said, uh, no, no, I haven't.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: But here's what I can do.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Um, I have a very strong marketing plan, and I'm gonna, I'm gonna learn where to market and where to advertise your house.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: And they were actually from a marketing background, so they actually pushed me um to find some of the avenues I use today to market my listings.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Um, and then, you know, from there on out, I mean, those communities are word of mouth spread like spreads like wildfire.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Um and also if you have an open house in there, um do open houses.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: I still do them to this day.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Um, you you meet a lot of neighbors and then they remember you, you get their contact information.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: So um that one couple in four seasons that took that chance on me, um, kind of, I mean, I think I thank them every time, honestly.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: And uh every time I get a new listing in there specifically, I thank them because um it just it just skyrocketed and took off from there.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And I I would say, you know, it's a it's a niche that bound me.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: And um, it's a it's something I just I love it.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's so much fun.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: You you mentioned something that really caught my attention.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: You were dialing and texting and basically doing whatever you could until you got three meetings, three FISBO meetings a week.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Did I say that correctly?
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: So I just love yeah, I I love that like okay, I'm gonna take this one thing and I'm going to focus on it and and m make it successful.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: How long did you lean into that?
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: How long were you doing three meetings a week?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Years.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:45unknown: Yeah.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Uh probably the first three three years of of my career.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Now I I didn't let me let me back up.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: I didn't get three meetings every week, but that was my that was my goal.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah so I mean, so I spent a lot of time on the phone.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: So if there are you know new realtors out there that are calling expired or for or for sale by owners, keep doing it.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: It's just a it's a it's a numbers game.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: And be yourself when you go in there and be honest, and they'll they will remember you, even if it's it's probably not gonna be a today thing, but um, you know, you just gotta keep on it, keep in touch with them.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Um you know, thank them, follow up a lot, and it it it'll pay off.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the other thing you mentioned in there that I thought was so cool was that you you didn't seem to hesitate telling clients, hey, I might not I might not have this figured out right now.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I might not have all of the answers immediately right now, but I'm willing to dig in and find them.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: And for some reason, that's so hard to say sometimes in front of clients.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: And I think clients are very understanding.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Real estate is changing constantly.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: So even if you've been doing it for 20 years, you know, it's so okay to say, I don't have the answer right now.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: You know, and I think that's something we all need to lean into more.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Um, so working with a lot of the 55 plus clients now in that specific community, um it it sounds like you just kind of fell into that niche.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: It wasn't an intentional thing, right?
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: It wasn't, it wasn't.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Um but I do believe everyone should have a niche.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: So um why do you say that?
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Because putting putting your eggs in every basket, um, I don't I think it's good at first.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: So I mean, I think, you know, what uh when I started out, I said I did I work with everybody and I did, and I and I still do, but I think you really need to find what you love, what you're most passionate about, and how you feel you can best serve a a group of people or a neighborhood, you know, such as my neighborhood as well, um the best, and decide on that, you know, and again, sometimes it it will find you, you know.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: If you if you just start farming farming your neighborhood, it might you know it might just work out for you and you might love it, and you're you know, your neighbors are are constantly reaching out to you.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: But I think it's it's really important to have have that have that focus, and then you can also market yourself that way, you know.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Like I market myself as a 55 plus specialist, so that's what I consider myself, you know.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Um when I think of working in a 55 plus community, um in my brain, it just automatically goes to they must be these great clients, right?
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: They've most likely bought or sold before, you know, like maybe they're retired, like they have some free time that is working with your schedule, but I I know it can't be as like all rainbows and butterflies, like I'm thinking.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: So, what is one challenge with that specific community that people might not think about?
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, so you're you're looking for a very specific demographic, right?
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, whether it's a a Dell Web or a Horizons or a Four Seasons, um, or even like Summerwind, which is only you know, age targeted, not age restricted, you you are you you are literally shrinking your your your buyer pool in half at least.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: And then of course, you know, it's a little bit higher price point, right?
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: I'm in Nextton.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Dell Webb is is a higher price point than where I live here in Midtown.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: Um, so you're now looking for someone, you know, who is looking kind of for you know a luxury kind of retirement lifestyle, coupled with the fact that at least one of them needs to be um 55 plus.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: So yeah, and they're not here in South Carolina, so I have to go out and find find them all over the country.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Um so uh those those I would say those are all my biggest challenges.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Are you doing a lot of like the video walkthroughs and things like that with with the out-of-towners?
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, everyone in my everyone in my listings um has a video walkthrough that's completely separate from my social media video.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Um it's actually in in the listing, so it can be you know sent out to anyone all over the country.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Um, but yes, I've done a lot of um, they're pretty tech savvy actually.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: So a lot of FaceTime, FaceTime tours, or you know, if if they can't FaceTime, I'll just take a lot of video and send it to them.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, a lot, a lot of people, and I know a lot of other agents, you know, on my listings do the same thing.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Um, because again, most of them are coming from out of state.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: And you mentioned the working in a niche and how much you recommend it.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think that's really important.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: So, what would you tell an agent who's a little bit afraid to really lean into a niche because they're afraid of losing that other business?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: You know, especially now, like it feels like you know, our market's a little bit tighter, listings are sitting a little bit longer, buyers are a little bit more skittish maybe than they have been the past couple years.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know, I do think from the loan officer side too, we're a little bit afraid to be like, no, I want to dive in on this thing because we're scared of losing out on something else.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: What would you tell that mindset?
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: Um, well, first of all, you're still gonna, you're still gonna, you're gonna be great at your job, and people are gonna know you're great at your job um once you grow at your business.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: So you're you're gonna you're going to get the the other people too.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: You're going to get that referral business.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: You know, I I have a mobile home listed in Bono right now.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: I you're always going to get that that referral residual business.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: However, if you want to, if you want to market yourself on social media, which I 100% believe you should, you need to you need to show that demographic that you are that specialist.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: And whatever it may be, if it's 55 plus, if it's first-time home buyer, if it's um military, I think that's a great niche to get into.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: If again, if it's a if it's a neighborhood or your neighborhood, be that specialist and show them you're that specialist and make content around it, you're you're going to automatically they're going to be drawn to you and you're going to automatically get that business.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: And don't worry about everyone else.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: You will still get that residual business.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Just do it, do a great job for your clients and they will refer you.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: And outside of focusing on a niche, what I really love about your story is how you grew, you know, we talked about your first year being a tough year, and it's just been growth, growth, growth, growth, growth the whole way through.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: So outside of focusing on a niche, what's one piece of advice that you would give to an agent that feels a little bit stuck, maybe at that like five to 10 transaction spot per year?
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: Um, what's something that you would tell them um that you think could get somebody to the next level?
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Um, well, I also think just like finding a niche, I think you should focus on um how you want to get your business.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Um are do you like being on video?
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Do you like being on social media?
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Are you are you committed to growing your platforms?
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: Or are you super good at calling for sale by owners and expired listings?
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: Um, are you are you great at open houses?
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Find what you're good at and what's going to attract those clients to you and stick to that.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: If you're not good at calling expired and for sale by owners, don't do it.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Go out and make make a bunch of content and just get in their faces.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Um, if you can spend money on ads to get in even more people's faces, um I personally still do open houses because I usually get at least one new buyer from almost every open house because I work so I put so much work into it, into the lead up of the open houses.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: So find one or two things that work really well for you to get business and again stick to it.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Don't don't give up after the first month or two.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: It's you know, it's not an overnight success, but find what works for you and and just go go hard after it.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: You know, you it's whatever makes you most comfortable, it's gonna be what's what's right for you.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: I am so guilty of that.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Like trying something for like a couple weeks, and I'm like, ah, it doesn't work.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: I'm moving on to the next thing.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: So it's so refreshing to hear that.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Like stay in a lane, stay there, stay focused, stay on it.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Um, you mentioned the open houses, and A, I love that you still do them.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Um and I'm surprised we haven't met because I run around town and crash open houses all the time.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Well, I might see you there.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Um, but you mentioned the work that you put into leading up to the open house.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: What is that work?
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I usually plan one a week in advance, which might sound crazy to some agents, right?
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Um, if you're a new agent, you're probably just opening a door, putting down a sign-in sheet and a pen, and leaving some waters out, right?
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: Maybe maybe you put a sign in the work too.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: That's good.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Um, so I what I do is um kind of a, you know, I it's kind of a three-part.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: So um I will run a digital ad.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Now again, this is not probably not not for people starting out because that they're expensive, and I do pay a company to do them, but I do run a digital open house ad for that listing.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Um, I start advertising it on social media and don't just put it on your page.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Do a deep dive, find other pages where you're where buyers are.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: I am on over 60 pages now, and I am taking the extra hour to to post on those extra 60 pages and not just mine and waiting for them to see it on my page.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I also um believe it or not, I still give out flyers.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: So if we're having an open house in Nextton, I am printing 100 flyers and I am going hoofing it around, you know, Nexton Square, marketplace at Nextton, one Nexton, hub at Nextton, and I'm leaving the flyers and any businesses, and I'm talking like the co-op, the coffee shop, the gym, yeah, anywhere a consumer might be, the veterinary clinic.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: I had someone pick one up from Wolfgang Bakery before, okay?
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: And call me.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: So and anywhere that a consumer might be able to just pick up one of those flyers and say, Hey, I'm gonna check this out.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: And then um, I also go, uh you you can't miss my open houses.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: If you haven't seen it anywhere else, you'll see all my directional signs.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: So I I And I put the directional signs out early, and then I bet a big 10-foot flag.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: So if all fails, you'll just be able to find me.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: You just follow the signs.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: It's so funny you say that.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: And I try really, really hard not to be judgmental on this podcast.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: But I mentioned, you know, like I will run around town, and it's a great way for me to introduce myself to realtors, is crash into their open house.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: And it drives me crazy when like I can't find the house.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: Like I've even looked it up on Zillow and I put the address in the GPS, and I'm just like, I can't find this house.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Like, there's no signs, there's no nothing.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: It seems so basic, but um we don't need to listen to my ranting.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: You mentioned being in 60 social media pages.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Are is that like the community pages?
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: What what kind of social media pages are you in?
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Okay, you're I mean, you're talking everything from community pages to Somerville pages to moving to South Carolina pages to leaving New England to to move south.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: Um, there's one called leaving California for Red States, I find that hilarious.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Uh I have just to just a deep, deep dive.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: And there, I mean, so it is as narrow as you know the the community page for that neighborhood all the way to you know reaching you know people it specifically in New England or Ohio or California that might be moving here.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: Well, you you've motivated me to like dive deep into the activities.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: What what I hear that you've done such a good job of, excuse me, is pick like a few things that you feel like fit into your wheelhouse and you're good at, and you have gone all the way in on those things, and that is so cool.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Um I've been hole.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: So, and that's kind of the the one of the last things that I wanted to touch on.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: So there is so much in our industry and really like our entire world that we feel that we need to lean into.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: So there's AI and there's social media and there's Zillow and on and on and on.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: And you know, we've been talking it one of the themes that I think I've heard from the past like 25 minutes here is that you like to keep things really simple.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Again, just focusing on what you're good at and leaning into those things.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Um and you mentioned not leaning into AI, which I thought was really interesting.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: So why is it that you've kind of stayed away from that?
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, I don't I don't want people out there to think I don't use AI, right?
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, not using it all.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: You're you are missing out, but you know, yeah, I'll I'll use it to like write my captions or and I'm talking about social media, for instance.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: I'll use it to write my captions, or you know, maybe to write a listing.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Um but I want the videos themselves to be to be me, to be natural.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Um also to show the the home in its natural setting too, um or or whatever we might be doing, you know.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: I I want to I don't want to over um fabricate anything, um you know, which is a lot a lot sometimes you can't even tell if it's real or if it's AI.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: So um, you know, I just kind of stick to a little bit more natural um progression of, you know, especially in my social media, and um I I that seems to be working.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: So um, you know, I I do need to lean into AI a little bit more, but um yeah, probably you're not gonna see any crazy um stunts or anything like that on my social media.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Well, it is working, it's working incredibly well for you.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Um I want to just finish up with one more question.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: I want you to think back to the version of Alyssa that just left her job on King Street and you jumped into real estate.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: So you don't know that it's gonna be as challenging as it is, and you also don't know that you're going to enjoy the success that you've had the past few years.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: What is one thing that you would say to that version of Alyssa?
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: Don't and don't be so hard on yourself.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Give yourself grace and don't and don't give up.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: Um and and you know, just lean on God if things get tough because that that's what that's what he's here for.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: He's here to always listen.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: And he he already has great plans for my future, so I don't need to worry about that.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Um I would just, you know, I would tell her, you know, don't worry, you know, just just lean into it and do do what you love, find what you love to do, and just you know, go go after it.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: So well put.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: Alyssa, you've got incredible advice.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: If anybody who's listened to this wants to reach out to you, uh just ask follow-up questions uh about something you mentioned today, or even connect further, how can they find you?
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, they can you can call me.
