- 0:00Do y'all have any backstory on this Cody Luther thing, Luther King thing I've
- 0:06wrote about the child not at all. Bro y'all haven't heard about Cody Luther
- 0:11King. No, No, not really, but Cody Rhodes, right,
- 0:15yeah, So, like as I understand it, how I've kind of loosely
- 0:21followed it throughout the years, Cody Rhodes is like a very you know,
- 0:27forward guy. He's like a big like you know, in wrestling, you
- 0:30got the baby faces, got the heels, Like Cody's like a baby face
- 0:33in real life. You know what I'm saying. He's always wearing the suits.
- 0:37He's like John Cena and a suit, you know what I'm saying.
- 0:40And he's real conscious of like a lot of different things. He has a
- 0:45black wife, you know what I'm saying. They have a kid, So
- 0:47he has a black kid. So his dad is known for like being like
- 0:52real tapped in with like all different like you know, just you know,
- 0:56immigrants and black people, marginal people because he came from that kind of circuit
- 1:02in wrestling back in the day, Rose was the American dream, you know,
- 1:06the son of a plumber was this thing, you know, like he
- 1:08used to go around the South and be basically telling people like, yo,
- 1:11I'm the son of a plumber, Like I come from humble beginnings. You
- 1:15know, I've been through hard times. Like that's one of the big like
- 1:18quotes that he did, one of his big promos, like him talking about
- 1:21hard times. You know, he was talking about Rick Flair, you know,
- 1:23and he was like a perfect nemesis for Rick Flair because Rick Flair was
- 1:26super flashy. He was flashing money on people. You know, he ain't
- 1:30had time for broke or poor people, you know what I'm saying. And
- 1:34then you got Dusty Rose. He's like the man of the people, you
- 1:37know, So Cody already comes from that. Cody's himself is real aware and
- 1:42real active. You know, he's always trying for like you know, with
- 1:48AW when they started AW, they were real conscious to do like sensory rooms
- 1:52and you know the kids for like autistic kids, you know, with like
- 1:57the headphones and different things to kind of stimulate them through the show and everything.
- 2:00So you know, he's just from every level. You know, he's
- 2:04just tapped in and real aware and roll like just a good guy, you
- 2:07know what I'm saying. Yeah, So like a lot of people on Twitter,
- 2:13like and especially like black Wrestling Twitter, they started like gravitating to this
- 2:17Cody Luther King thing where they started photoshopping him into like you know, you
- 2:24got like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X meeting and Cody Rhodes is there,
- 2:30like Rose of Parks. He's like, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 2:35they're just like putting him like like just like random like pictures of like important
- 2:40moments in black history, and it's like Cody Rose is there. You know
- 2:44what? They dropped the interview of him on a podcast called Cheap Heat That
- 2:51is Peter ro ninety seven. He has a podcast and he actually like asked
- 2:58him like, Yo, are you aware that this is going on? And
- 3:00like this whole situation, and Cody was just he was a good sport about
- 3:05it. He's like, yeah, you know, I haven't really touched it
- 3:07publicly because I don't want to like react in any kind of way and people,
- 3:12you know, try to say something, you know what I mean,
- 3:14Like he don't want to touch it because like pictures of him, you know,
- 3:16in famous black scenes with like these black figures, and they're calling him
- 3:21like Cody Luther King, you know, you know, basically like he's flattered
- 3:25that they've like embraced him. You know what I'm saying. He acknowledged like
- 3:29you know, I have a black wife, a black daughter, so you
- 3:31know, I'm like really in that community just from them, you know what
- 3:36I'm saying. And the fact that they accepted me is super dope, you
- 3:38know what I'm saying. But it's just hilarious like that they actually like it
- 3:43actually made it to him and him actually like reacting to it. They got
- 3:46to be crazy. He's just scrolling through your timeline and you see like loads
- 3:51of parks or something. They got a picture with him next to Nelson Mandela
- 3:53bro and then that picks something up. Bro, they roll with that.
- 4:00This is hilarious, Yo, It's so random too. Dog Like, I
- 4:04wasn't aware so much of like the fact that there was memes and stuff,
- 4:10but I knew, like it was always a thing that they talked about,
- 4:13like on Twitter and just like on the different wrestling stuff, like they always
- 4:16mentioned like how like how much of a good guy Cody is, and like
- 4:21you know what I'm saying, like to the point where they just kind of
- 4:24like perody him of it. But I didn't know that they took it to
- 4:27this level. Dog, those means I was going crazy. Bro, I'm
- 4:30on a redd it thread right now. That just got me rolling Dogs said
- 4:34Cody. In fact, drove the bus backwards just so Rosa Parks will technically
- 4:40be in the front, unlike set. He truly is a revolutionary Broa.
- 4:45Yo, people are you know? People are hilarious, Dog, people are
- 4:49hilarious. The Internet, Bro, dog so funny, Man, I don't
- 4:58even know. I don't even know how you get to that, like,
- 5:01to that conclusion and just goes so hard with it. Bro. Man,
- 5:08the Internet is, you know, undefeated. Everybody tries to go against it
- 5:14and they just don't understand. Bro. Like if the Internet says it and
- 5:16it's true. Mm hmmm. Bro, speaking of the Internet and speaking of
- 5:24being the the Dusty Roads and the Rick Flair, Bro Drake Man is the
- 5:32day after Kendrick drop you for you? M h The discussion around it has
- 5:40been super interesting, very split to my to my surprise, but not to
- 5:45my surprise that you know what I mean. I don't know if Joe checked
- 5:49it out yet. He's he's in, He's he's Goldie Luther kinging against yea,
- 5:57all the music beefs in general, but so me and Quincy heard it.
- 6:04Bro. I thought it was crazy because there's three beats, so it
- 6:10switches, you know, a couple of times. I was I was super
- 6:14into it and like, wow, he's telling him and then the third beat
- 6:17came in and he still had another two minutes for him. I was like,
- 6:21nah, bro, Nah, this was like the disc that I was
- 6:28waiting for. Bro. I couldn't believe. Like I honestly thought like this
- 6:31thing was done. You know, time had passed. I thought maybe he
- 6:35would like drop something and give him like, you know, eight bars or
- 6:39I don't know, Bro, I just you know, I fell into the
- 6:42the microwave mentality of like that. Kendrick got to respond right away, and
- 6:47I just kind of got bored with it and was like whatever, Yeah the
- 6:50way this song came out, bro, wow man heads off to Kendrick dog
- 6:57because that was I've seen the memes going around too that this is why j
- 7:01coleb backed out of the battle. He thought about it and he was like,
- 7:05you know what, I don't want to be on the other end of
- 7:08that. Yeah, I saw somebody it said. Ja cole was like,
- 7:13did he mention me, but he was like actually, nah, was like
- 7:18yes, yes. It's kind of crazy though, because he threw like a
- 7:27like I would say, like maybe four to six bars in there where he
- 7:30kind of reiterated that it was like a friendly thing. Yeah, you know,
- 7:34he mentioned he like he mentioned that it is a three goat thing and
- 7:39that he considers them the other two goats. Like, so it was kind
- 7:42of like dope in that sense from the point of view where they're like,
- 7:46you know, he's acknowledging it and leaving it as rap. You know what
- 7:48I'm saying. Yea, like he's killing them, but he's also letting them
- 7:51know like you know, just rap. Yeah, this is what we're doing,
- 7:55you know what I mean. Yeah, And then on top of that,
- 7:59you know, he also like knowledge that like yeah, bro, I
- 8:01just don't like you, bro, like you know what I mean, Like,
- 8:05it is what it is. I don't have to you know, it
- 8:07don't hurt to me. It's kind of like because it goes back to the
- 8:09bars that I said where he kind of like showed him love like and let
- 8:13him know that it was lighthearted. But then at the same time, you
- 8:16talking about you hate this dude. Like and just like sporting up to the
- 8:20point where I'm like, like, you gotta there ain't no way you're cool
- 8:26after this. Yeah, no, no, no, there's just no way.
- 8:31Like so it was it was super like interested to me from that aspect
- 8:37to where it's like he's acknowledging that, like, oh, this is just
- 8:39rap. You know, you guys are great, you know whatever, whatever,
- 8:43But then on top of that, you're gonna kill him like that man
- 8:46this and also acknowledged that. It was like, you know, it's it's
- 8:52I think one of the lines he said it was like, you know,
- 8:54it's still love when you see success or something like that, like like,
- 8:56so he's saying, like, bro, I acknowledge your success, you know
- 9:00what I'm saying, But that don't mean that I got to rock with you.
- 9:01I don't like the way you are as a person. And that's basically
- 9:03he picked you apart as a person, you know what I mean, Like
- 9:07he literally from every angle that you can basically he really did. Though.
- 9:11He picked you apart as a person and then let you know that you know,
- 9:15I don't like you, you know what I mean. But at the
- 9:16same time, this is just rap. I acknowledge your success, but I
- 9:22don't like you crazy man. That kind of led to like because me and
- 9:26my brother was talking about it, and me and him got like into a
- 9:30discussion. Really like what what Kendrick was really talking about was like the the
- 9:37mean version of Drake at people that don't like Drake. That's what they point
- 9:43to, you know what I'm saying, Like he really just took like every
- 9:46piece of what somebody that's not a Drake fan, which is me, like
- 9:52he take. He took all them pieces and put it in the song.
- 9:56So like, for me, it was kind of dope hearing just somebody on
- 10:00that level say a few things that I felt as well, you know what
- 10:03I mean the line and this is something that we've talked about probably on the
- 10:07podcast as well, But just the fact that of that line in the song
- 10:15where Kendrick's like, I like Drake with the melodies, I don't like Drake
- 10:18when he acting tough like that literally is me to a t As far as
- 10:22being a Drake fan, yeah, a huge fan of Drake when he's just
- 10:26making good music and it's a vibe or whatever. But I always say dog.
- 10:31And it's funny because Rick Ross kind of acknowledged it a little bit when
- 10:33he did his disc. It kind of like went on his rant on Drake
- 10:37when the whole beef thing went down, But he went and did stay scheming
- 10:41with Ross and he changed after that. Bro, you see a stark change
- 10:48in Drake his sound, the direction of his lyrics, this vibe after he
- 10:52did scheming, and I'm not saying a specifically that song, but whatever possibly
- 10:58led him to do that song, whatever vibe he was on at that time,
- 11:03something changed in his presentation and from then on it's pretty much when like,
- 11:07I never really liked Drake like that, Like musically before that, I
- 11:11liked a lot of his stuff, but after that point it kind of felt
- 11:15like it went in a different direction. And that line exactly was how I
- 11:18feel like. I like Drake with the melodies. I like when he's doing
- 11:22these like relationship type joints. I like when he's rapping about some like heartfelt
- 11:26stuff. I like when he sings. A lot of people don't like when
- 11:28Drake sings. I like when Drake sings. Bro. His R and B
- 11:31songs are classic, Bro. His joints where he's just straight R and B,
- 11:35he'd be going crazy, bro, like he has a good ear,
- 11:39bro, and he has a good voice. He's a great artist, and
- 11:41he knows how to put these joints together. And I feel like that's something
- 11:46that Kendrick kind of attack too. It's like, Bro, you're dope.
- 11:48You're just choosing to take this route, and I don't respect it. Yeah,
- 11:52you know what I mean? Yeah, I agree with that. Did
- 11:56you get a chance to listen to that, Joe or you just opted not
- 12:01to? I haven't listened to any of them, Okay, gotcha? Yeah,
- 12:05I just I said that. We said the last episode where we discussed
- 12:07the Beefs, I said, I'm already I'm turned off by them. I
- 12:11don't care to listen to them. They're not contributing to a project. That
- 12:13contributing to some thirty five year old rapper beefing talking about. I didn't listen
- 12:22to Drakes. I didn't listen to Rosses. I am not listening out.
- 12:26I didn't listen to Chris Brown, I didn't listen to Quelos. Yeah,
- 12:33but I will say that, go ahead, I was gonna say. I
- 12:35will say this. I made a point. I don't know if it was
- 12:39a couple episodes ago or just in the chat I think it might have been
- 12:43in our chat, but I basically was saying that, Like, you know,
- 12:46the thing about Drake though, when he makes this record, he makes
- 12:50records that whether you're into the beefs or not, if you listen to them,
- 12:56you can enjoy them from a standpoint of Like I said at the Back
- 13:00to Back joint, the Pushups joint, like they're like records that if we
- 13:03went our vibes, their vibes, you know what I'm saying. He's saying
- 13:07like little he's taking little shots in them, but they're a vibe, you
- 13:11know. And I feel like a lot of the hip hop, the core
- 13:16of hip hop, when you listen to lyrics and you listen to antandras and
- 13:20similes and and and the way people twist words and all of that stuff,
- 13:24that that's where the hip hop fans are like, Yo, Kendrick went crazy.
- 13:31But then when you look at the surface level fans of of of hip
- 13:33hop, where they're probably just you know, pop hop. I wouldn't call
- 13:39it fans. They're looking at it from a standpoint but no, like the
- 13:43Drake one sounds better, you know what I mean. It's like that.
- 13:46That was the point that I was making when I mentioned that, where it's
- 13:48like Drake has that part figured out where it's like I can diss you,
- 13:52but also make the girl in the club that has no idea what I'm talking
- 13:56about. You know, shake shake, shake as to it, you know
- 13:58what I mean. Like, it's just that's the part that I always give
- 14:03Drake credit for, because that is not easy, you know what I mean,
- 14:07It's not He definitely tries to tie it into the type of audience he
- 14:13has, you know what I mean, because at the end of the day,
- 14:16people that are tapped into Drake, they don't care about you know,
- 14:18hip. If you're listening to Drake, you're not trying to hear the best
- 14:22lyricism and hippity hop hip hip hip, you know what I mean. Like,
- 14:26ain't nobody trying to hear that when they listened to Drake so him involved
- 14:30in some kind of lyrical battle. It's just like Joe like he don't care
- 14:33for it because it's not what he's listening to the music for. You know
- 14:37what I'm saying, No, no, no, because I won't lie.
- 14:41I did listen to Kendrick Gonna like that. Then I listen to Cole's response
- 14:43and then the drama happened all that cole rescinding it and then like just a
- 14:50bunch of fake ais. Like the way it all went down, I stopped
- 14:54following it. So I'm not following it no more, gotcha. So it's
- 14:58specifically this beef or or like yeah, you know what I mean, like
- 15:03the Baby coming out saying that someone tried to create a fake a lyricists try
- 15:07to create a fake beef with him. I just feel like beef is starting
- 15:13a trend right now, and that's why everybody's doing it. I don't think
- 15:16it's like the beef how it used to be we spoke about when it actually
- 15:20was a beef, and these dudes was actually just coming out with shit back
- 15:24to back, talking about each other, and I think it's like that no
- 15:26more. So I'm not It's nothing I'm following. It's funny because that's something
- 15:28that I think. It was. DJ Envy and Charlemagne was talking about that
- 15:33on the Breakfast Club like it's it's such a different time and it's such a
- 15:37different way. Like I think they were saying that NAS dropped ether like nine
- 15:41months after jay Z dropped his disk. You know, it was like it
- 15:45was like for it, but still it was a lot of time, okay,
- 15:46and then just the vibe and they were kind of saying the same thing,
- 15:50Joe saying where it's like, you know, they they were talking about
- 15:54it, but you could tell it was a kind of thing where like they
- 15:56were talking about it because they're on the radio, you know what I'm saying.
- 16:00They were not talking about it with the same kind of umph as like
- 16:03a NAS and jay Z thing or something like that, you know what I
- 16:06mean. Mm hmm, Yeah, I definitely will say. You know,
- 16:11I think one of the points that they made in that in that statement of
- 16:15the show was that you know, people want this immediate response microwavable digestion,
- 16:22you know what I mean when it comes to just all forms of entertainment,
- 16:26and you know, like when I heard it, I was like, man,
- 16:29that was two weeks. That was worth the wait, you know what
- 16:30I mean? Yeah, But if this just been building up as it because
- 16:34it's been talking about they've been hitting each other for years, why do they
- 16:38take that long? You know, you got something feel dumb for somebody and
- 16:41you already know it. Mm hmm. Yeah. Up. Man. What
- 16:48I enjoyed about the record I feel like it was a super dope dis It
- 16:51was a super dope joint period like the production the man. I just I
- 16:56was really really feeling that joint. I listened to it all day today,
- 16:59like and just as a song like that, cause it's kind of like what
- 17:02we've talked about before with hip hop that you know. It's funny because I
- 17:06felt like I was souring on Wrap for like a good little while, and
- 17:10I was kind of just to that, kind of like how Joe was feeling
- 17:12about this beef. I was feeling like that about just rap in general,
- 17:15you know what I mean. I was just kind of like whatever, I
- 17:18could really carry the way about it. But the beef actually did the opposite
- 17:22thing for me, Like I'm hearing like what not until not until you hear
- 17:26Kendrick's response, No, because I I what I didn't like about the back
- 17:30and forth was the AI shit that that That's the part that to me was
- 17:36like, but y'all didn't react like this one on the Future on the Future
- 17:41because it wasn't like this. It wasn't like this. The Future one was
- 17:44just more like a bop and he just threw a couple of lines in there
- 17:48where like you know, it's not really anything like too deep, you know
- 17:51what I'm saying. This one was just like surgical, bro, Like it
- 17:55was like direct direct, every damn near every bar was you know, related
- 18:00to you know what I mean. It was like no waste of motion type
- 18:02thing. Like as as far as hip hop goes, bro, it was
- 18:06a masterpiece, you know what I'm saying, And that that part of it
- 18:10is what excites me because it's like, dang, bro, I can't believe
- 18:11like I'm hearing like a hip hop masterpiece now, Like I didn't think that
- 18:15would happen again, you know what I'm saying. I didn't think twenty twenty
- 18:18four and on I was gonna hear a song that I'm repeating over and like
- 18:22a rap song, bro, the way I repeated this Kendrick song, I
- 18:26haven't repeated a rap song like that. I can't even remember, Like I
- 18:30literally can't remember, yeah saying, So it's definitely like it's funny because it's
- 18:34doing the opposite effect for me. Like it's definitely had its ups and downs,
- 18:38and there's been moments that were weak. I like to push up joint
- 18:42that Drake dropped. I didn't I didn't even listen to the AI one because
- 18:45as soon as I heard like Tupac's voice on it, it just took me
- 18:48out because it's like that to me, Bro, that's no place for that
- 18:53and this kind of thing, you know what I mean, Like I don't
- 18:56even understand what I mean. I understand what they were trying to do with
- 19:00it, you know, as far as concept and telling the story and stuff,
- 19:04but it was like too cute, you know what I'm saying, Keep
- 19:08it hip hop. That's how I look at it as far as like when
- 19:11it comes to a battle like that, you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 19:14that's that's what I feel like Kendrick did. Bro. It was it
- 19:17was dope, man. I really I'm really excited to see what happens,
- 19:21and I'm really excited to see what kind of music comes out of because they're
- 19:26they've all kind of attacked each other as far as like bodies of work go.
- 19:30Even even j Cole that one day he you know, deleted he even
- 19:33you know, when at Kendrick saying like your album's is weak? You know
- 19:37what I'm saying, Uh, Drake when I nd Yeah, Drake, Drake
- 19:44went at Kendrick as far as his like output, and and you know,
- 19:48just the songs in general. Kendrick went out Drake's music as well, and
- 19:53I'm hoping that this just puts them in that mode whenever like that next body
- 19:56of work is coming out, that they all feel that mosity and they're like,
- 20:00nah, I'm gonna do something on this because nobody's gonna say I don't
- 20:03drop classics, or nobody's gonna say I can't spit, especially with those three,
- 20:07because you know, like I always say Dre ain't my cup of tea,
- 20:11but he I can't say he ain't dope, you know what I'm saying.
- 20:15Like he's a dope rapper, He's a dope singer. He's a dope
- 20:18artist. It's just the stuff he chooses to make is not the type of
- 20:22stuff that I like to listen to, So it don't overlap. But it
- 20:26doesn't mean that I can't acknowledge that he's a dope artist. And who knows
- 20:30if this will lead him to make some of the best music that he makes
- 20:34that I enjoy, you know what I'm saying. Because funny enough, with
- 20:38jay Z, I was a big NAS fan, so I didn't listen to
- 20:41jay Z mostly just because of that, you know, because I was really
- 20:45young at the time and I was like, nah, it's nas you know
- 20:47what I'm saying. But jay Z, as he got later in his career,
- 20:51his later albums really made me like kind of check him out and they
- 20:56kind of go back, and even like when I went back, I wasn't
- 20:57really digging the earlier stuff as much as I was the later stuff, you
- 21:02know what I mean. And the stuff that I don't like from jay Z
- 21:04is the stuff that people that are like diehard jay Z fans are like,
- 21:07you're crazy. These are the joints, you know what I'm saying. Like
- 21:11to me, it's like, my favorite jay Z album is the Black Album,
- 21:15you know what I mean. And a lot of people are like,
- 21:15what, like, are you crazy? Like, but to me, dog,
- 21:18that thing is a masterpiece. But you know, for jay Z fans,
- 21:22they they some of them will have it like in the top five,
- 21:26but they won't say it's their number one. You know, I got a
- 21:29black album up there up there. Yeah, what would be your favorite jay
- 21:33Z album all time? Yeah, Hard Knock Life all in two? Is
- 21:37that? Is that the one after the first album? No, that's his
- 21:44third one. That's the one where money Cash shows. That's the one We're
- 21:47Big Pimp band. That's the one with jig Wai. Yeah. So man,
- 21:53I'm curious because I was gonna ask Quincy because I'm curious because we're like
- 21:56literally three rows of jay Z fans just from with the age group that we
- 22:02fall into, like we kind of were aware of what jay Z was saying
- 22:07at different times. So I was gonna ask you, Quincy, I'm curious
- 22:11to hear, what's your favorite jay Z album? Probably four forty four.
- 22:18See, it's funny, man, because it's kind of like all our favorite
- 22:22jay Z albums are like when we were all very aware that we heard at
- 22:27that time, you know what I mean. So it's funny. That's probably
- 22:34just really what it boils down to, not even like the music itself,
- 22:38Like that's probably what they even be saying about, Like it don't even really
- 22:42matter about the music as far as it goes with the artists. It's just
- 22:45what you're doing as far as your output and putting together good bodies of work
- 22:49and stuff. Because it's like we like three whole different things from jay Z
- 22:55as far as music goes. And another person will tell us like we're crazy
- 23:00for picking that one, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:03I will say for Black Album probably number two, though I love the Black
- 23:07Album. Would you say about four for four? I wouldn't put that in
- 23:11my top five? Which one? And I love what? I love that
- 23:18it's a good album. I was starting my top five for jay Z for
- 23:19sure. That's crazy. And then just to have that much music and that
- 23:25deep of a catalog where people could just argue over what of your music is
- 23:30the best or if you know what I'm saying, like you're hitting you against
- 23:33yourself type stuff like yeah, that's like another level bro. Yeah no facts,
- 23:37Well yeah man. The last thing that I wanted to talk about today
- 23:41was these NBA playoffs kind of like kind of like what with the beef has
- 23:48ignited and hip hop? This playoffs, you know, it always brings another
- 23:52element. So you know, every year turned up for the playoffs and this
- 23:56first round has not disappointed. This year, it's been crazy. I know,
- 24:00my dog Joe has been having a heavy heart and this last day because
- 24:06we're fresh off of that game five loss Knicks sixers. Yeah wow, man,
- 24:11dog Lebrown feel bad for him too. Oh yeah, that that denver
- 24:18La series. Man that it's it's never gonna be done justice, Like how
- 24:26crazy that series was because it was first round, it was so quick for
- 24:30the one doesn't like the series itself, and the box score and and the
- 24:34situation does not really explain how crazy that series really was. And just the
- 24:41building up from last year and just considering, Bro, like really really considering
- 24:48who could beat the Lakers in the playoffs besides the Nuggets, right, yeah,
- 24:55Like, honestly, if we're really gonna stay here and put them against
- 24:57any other team that's in these playoffs, any team, which one can you
- 25:03say, oh, no, the Lakers can't beat them. And I'm not
- 25:06a Lakers fan, you know what I'm saying. I'm a Lebron fan.
- 25:11You know, I'm not a Lebron stand but I'm definitely a Lebron fan.
- 25:15I'm not an ad fans. He's a very good first three quarters player,
- 25:18and then the fourth quarter he just always disappears. I can't stand it.
- 25:22He's like James Harden in the fourth quarter of playoffs, which he surprised me
- 25:26this year because he's just been going in against these Mavericks. Bro. That
- 25:30Mavericks Clipper series is crazy too, because they're playing some elite, elite basketball,
- 25:37particularly on offense and the way these guys are matching each other's shots and
- 25:41all of them are stepping up like bro. And it's crazy because some of
- 25:48the one of the games of Mavericks one, I think they didn't even score
- 25:52ninety bro. Like it's there have been some crazy defensive games, but it's
- 25:56just the offense is just on such a level. Bro. It's like,
- 26:00you're not stopping these guys from getting these shots off. You're not stopping these
- 26:03guys from stop from scoring. You know what I'm saying. It's like,
- 26:07these guys are gonna get to it. Yeah, They're gonna get to their
- 26:10spot and they're gonna make the shot. Like it's you see an NBA player.
- 26:15Now, you don't expect them to miss two in a row. You
- 26:17know, they miss one and they get the ball back, you expect them
- 26:18to miss that one because everybody's hovering around that fifty clip. Now it's not
- 26:26like the Yeah, and it's not like the Warriors where it was four players
- 26:30that were always hot every single game. Now it's like one of the players.
- 26:34As far as these teams, like the Lakers teams like that. Now
- 26:38it's just like one player shines every single game sometimes too, But back then,
- 26:42you'd have a group of players that shine every single game. Like the
- 26:48MAVs don't play like that anymore. See the Kyrie or Luca once in a
- 26:51while, it's both of them. And when teams are stats like you got
- 26:55Booker and KD, but you never have a whole series where every single night
- 27:00they all put up numbers. But that's what is happening in that Clippers mav
- 27:07series because they're Luca's going crazy, Kyrie's going crazy, Harden's going crazy,
- 27:11and what's his name, Paul George is going crazy. Like they're all stepping
- 27:17up and having amazing games every game. And what you were saying about the
- 27:22Sun's Joe was completely true as well, because they completely folded. They did
- 27:26the opposite of what's going on in that Clippers mav series. They just did
- 27:30not jel. They were not cohesive at all out there. None of them
- 27:36really stepped up to the plate as far as like asserting themselves and really like
- 27:40putting up a fight. Because man, that team to not even win a
- 27:42game against the Timberwolves, I mean, I understand the Timberwolves are real hot,
- 27:47and they got a great squad. I mean people are forgetting that they
- 27:49gave five first round picks for Rudy Gobert for a reason. You know,
- 27:53they felt like he was in the peace. He's like, statistically, I
- 27:56believe like as far as like plus minus goes when he's on the floor,
- 28:00he's the guy that affects him. Anthony Edwards, did you watch the game
- 28:06where he got miked up? Yeah? Bro, he's telling the veterans,
- 28:10like Rudy Gobert where to be, where to do. He's like he's like
- 28:12running the floor. Yeah. And then one of the keys that they've said
- 28:17about this year and just the last couple of years, I mean the last
- 28:21year, last two years. I was say in particular, but Karl Anthony
- 28:25Town's basically just saying like realizing like this guy is a stud. I'm his
- 28:29sidekick. You know, we ride with you know what I'm saying. And
- 28:32once they kind of took that approach and understood like, Yo, we got
- 28:33crazy talent in this team, but this guy is the guy. Now they're
- 28:38taking that leap and you know something they started talking about I think on first
- 28:44take, but I was thinking about it just watching that Sun series is like
- 28:48hold on the road for the for the Nuggets might not be as clear,
- 28:52you know, because they talk a lot about how Rudy Gobert plays as far
- 28:56as you know, on the floor when Jokic is on the floor. But
- 29:00man, the way he's been locked in and the way Town's been playing,
- 29:04I don't know if it's going to be that same story. Did y'all see
- 29:07that press conference when you can kind of see that Carl Anthony Towns is like
- 29:12really taking the back seat where he was like, you know, basically like
- 29:15bruh, we just need you to stop filing. Dog Like, if you
- 29:18don't file, we're good. Just played and he was like, but I'm
- 29:22playing defense. He was like, Anthony, Anthony, it was like,
- 29:26just don't file, Like you know what I'm saying. He's like telling him
- 29:27like, brouh, do what you gotta do, but don't file because we
- 29:32need you on the floor, you know what I'm saying. And it's like,
- 29:33that's dope to see, you know what I mean, that's real dope
- 29:36to see. Yeah. I like that. There's a lot of good teams
- 29:37right now in the NBA. Will watch like there's a good energy he's been
- 29:41helping down like these last ten years. I will say that the league has
- 29:45been good. Then certain injuries and player movement kind of like throws the league
- 29:48in a funk, like it's always like a couple of years here, a
- 29:52couple of years there. But I feel like they're in a nice little groove
- 29:55and it's going to hit like a good stride, especially with like all the
- 29:56young players and the way like teams are forming. I think he's gonna I
- 30:00think he's gonna look good man. Yeah, I'm asking to see. I'm
- 30:06hoping the Knicks don't have a meltdown that game last night. Like someone in
- 30:11the chat said, Yo, it's some Regi Miller choke. I'm not even
- 30:17gonna look at the camera while saying this. It reminded me way too much
- 30:21of that, and I do not want that to happen again. Oh my
- 30:26god, that's just rough. Yo. So I haven't looked this up because
- 30:30I was waiting to ask you, Joe, if you know even is Julius
- 30:33Randall expected back anytime soon at all? Like do they this round? Oh?
- 30:38Yeah, yeah, but not this round? Man, But this playoffs?
- 30:41Shit, there's hopefully he has a chance. Yeah, I think if
- 30:44they make it to the conference finals will definitely bring him back. Yeah,
- 30:48man, because if he comes back, depending on how the West shapes up,
- 30:52I honestly could see them doing something like. I could see them sneaking
- 30:56one out, bro, like, because you never know what happens with these
- 30:57playoffs and the way they look. I know, I know the last couple
- 31:03of games haven't showed it with the loss, and you know, just the
- 31:08way it's weird, man, because the beat is hurt. But he's just
- 31:12so good that he's figuring out a way to still be effective even though he
- 31:15hasn't been as effective as always. And you know the way him and Maxie
- 31:21are playing, they're just playing like out of their mind, especially considering the
- 31:25situation and even the fact that the Knicks are up three too. Like,
- 31:29I feel like that's a good spot to be in. You're playing Philadelphia,
- 31:32that they're like perennially in the freaking conference game or the semi conference game.
- 31:38They're desperate to win. You know what I'm saying, They're not going to
- 31:41roll over, bro. So you know, I'm not too worried about the
- 31:45series here. You know, I feel like if they can get past Philly
- 31:48here, they can get past the Bucks or the Pacers. You know what
- 31:52I'm saying, I don't think. I don't think that's something too crazy for
- 31:55them to overcome for sure. So I could definitely see the Nigs doing something,
- 32:00but they definitely need Randall back. Same same as Boston. Like if
- 32:04Porzingis goes down, they could they might could make it, but they're not
- 32:07gonna win without Prezingis come back, come back, Yeah, that's bad.
- 32:13My injury injury watch right now is Jamal Murray. He's been hobbling a lot.
- 32:17I think that I think they're capping with that. I think that's what
- 32:21they did last night. They're capping with that with the injury. Yeah,
- 32:24man, I think that's just to mess with the teams. I don't know.
- 32:29I think I think it's I think it's real, and I think that's
- 32:30why they've been playing desperate because they they've been wanting the rest, you know
- 32:36what I'm saying, Like they don't want to limp into the next couple of
- 32:39rounds or limp into the finals or something. But I don't know, he
- 32:43looks a little he's been he's been playing good, but he's been real stagnant
- 32:49like you see, you don't he's not moving a lot. He's playing kind
- 32:51of like MB where he's not really like moving around too much and he's speaking
- 32:54his spots and and that's never good, especially like you know, going deeper
- 32:59into the player. Mhm. It is really one of some of the best
- 33:02playoff games that it's been on the while definitely excited about it. Yeah,
- 33:07I actually watching, Bro, HBO Max has been super clutch dog HBO Max.
- 33:13They play all the teams. Yeah, last night I saw that I
- 33:15had it. I was surprised. Yeah, Bro, That's that's how I've
- 33:17been watching. I've just been watching all the TNT games and then I'll just
- 33:22catch the full game highlights on the NBA TV on YouTube for the games that
- 33:28are like on ESPN or on NBA TV that I don't see. And Bro,
- 33:30it's just been I've been I've been tapped into every single game, bro,
- 33:35like of every series. Like I was even watching that Buck Spacers game,
- 33:38which wasn't even supposed to be that good of a game, but you
- 33:42know, Patrick Beverly stepped up, Chris Middleton stepped up, Bobby Porter stepped
- 33:46up, and they ended up winning that game. Dog, Like, how
- 33:50did you know what I'm saying? They got Dame out, they got Yannis
- 33:52out, and they still managed to be the Pacers again. Like Bro,
- 33:57this like, like I said, this has been a great player house man.
- 34:00I'm excited to see how it shapes up. Yeah. Facts and the
- 34:04draft just passed, so we about to be back on that football mode to
- 34:07Dog's excited for time. Bro, when kool aid you you fear me?
- 34:15What team is he on? He on? The same to your mother on
- 34:19bro eight Sappington. That's so you need me? You've been scouting that dude
- 34:25since since high school? Then that's crazy. That's really his name. That's
- 34:30not his nickname, No, that's his name. Do I dropped that in
- 34:34the chat a while man, And when they picked him, I was like,
- 34:37that's crazy. Yeah, that's wild. I need me a kool Aid
- 34:40Jersey. College kids were having some crazy names. Bro, It's like you
- 34:47don't encounter them in the wild. Bro, it's just in college. Like
- 34:51anybody that goes to college, it's like you got to have a crazy name
- 34:53to play college football, bro, random names, Like you haven't many crazy
- 34:59names like that in your life, right? You just always hear about him
- 35:01like from some college campus or something. But yeah, man, we're gonna
- 35:07try this little shorter episode thing, see how it goes. Because the clips
- 35:10have been doing real well, you know, since we've been like breaking them
- 35:13down. Those clips is gonna go hard right now. Pauls oh, yeah,
- 35:17man, Yeah, So I didn't want to ruin any of them with
- 35:21me not caring. I'm gonna listen. I'm gonna listen. I'm going to
- 35:28the beach Sunday and I'm gonna let him all right. I'm gonna let him
- 35:32all right. I mean, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Kendrick
- 35:37for sure, because I know I kind of know your taste. But then
- 35:40I kind of also know how you feel about Kendrick, especially when he goes
- 35:44a little wacky with stuff. So I'm definitely curious to hear how you feel
- 35:47about this one. Yeah, that's what I'm hoping it's not. I think
- 35:53I think you're gonna rock with it. I'll be honestand I ain't gonna cap
- 35:58but I got a session to night dropping a couple of songs very soon.
- 36:01I'm excited to get back in the groom. In the groom, Hey,
- 36:05yo, get back in the groom. I'm happy to get back in the
- 36:09groove and start dropping stuff again. So it's timing to get active. Man.
- 36:15It's crazy. As soon as it stops being cold, Bro, I'm
- 36:16just like energized to do stuff. Bro, it's crazy. I hate when
- 36:20it's cold, Dog, I can't stand it. Hey, hold on,
- 36:22I want to give I want to give a shout out to let Oh no,
- 36:28did we talk about that last week in your softball game? You're ready
- 36:31for game two? Oh? Yeah, yeah, the softball game. Dog,
- 36:36I'm ready, Man, I'm excited. Dog. That that yo,
- 36:39me and Joe playing on the softball team. He's out for a couple of
- 36:43weeks. He's getting a minor hand surgery. So good luck to you.
- 36:46We knowing that everything's gonna be alright and you're gonna be back in and out.
- 36:52But man, you know, I never really played baseball like that,
- 36:55dog, But we went out there and I had a Yo. I felt
- 37:00so good out there and I had such a good time that I've been just
- 37:02like taking my son into the park. We've been playing catch, we've been
- 37:07hitting balls. Dog, I'm turning into baseball Johnson out here, Dog,
- 37:12I'm ready to take over the world, all the all the dash offball leagues.
- 37:15I'm about to be the most valuable man. You heard me. You
- 37:17know you balled out. I'm telling you right now, you are the Rookie
- 37:21of the Year m VP for that game. Sky balled out. You certified
- 37:24your position, you a starter after your first game. I wouldn't be there
- 37:28tomorrow, but good luck. I know y'all. Y'all got to win that
- 37:31first game of the season, right there. Man, Yeah, yeah,
- 37:34guy that's been playing all his life for Leicester to come and take a spot.
- 37:38You know, don't put this clip up the yeah bench City. We
- 37:45had to make some adjustments, hopefully, but act act apt apter Pudy not
- 39:28not pusty, not not pusty a pusy, not not pusty, not not a
