- Ranch Wives: the yearlings are out. Get to the gate. They're headed to the road. But it was like all very broken up. So I just was like running. I'm still in like my dress. My heels. I ran in my little heels, 'cause that's the only shoes I had on my mom and dad's, d onto the side by side, which honestly I'm the least graceful person. Yes. Which is like really not my vibe. Let alone driving. For some reason I was having such a heck of a time with a pedal on the heel. I feel like I'd have ditched the heels. I did. Okay guys. This is us. Lacey's back. Lacey's back. Nice joining us again. Finally. She's back in the regular old session. Yeah. So we're we are on the road. We are at Trins House. Yeah. This week. And next week. Yeah. Both weeks. I think. Both weeks. You guys started like combining. So she's very busy doing meals. Yeah. We come to her. Yeah. I don't have time to drive around right now. So yeah, I guess on that note we started combining. Like yesterday was our first like official day. We're doing Cheers to never seeing your husband for the next like six six to eight weeks? What? Yeah. Eight weeks? Six to eight. Depending on rain. Yeah. Depending on moisture in the evenings. In the mornings. When did they start? What did they start with? I meant. Oats. Actually. Oats. Yeah. Ooh, on that topic we started Green Feed. Woo! Yay. About time. Nice. I'm so happy. And all our hay has bailed and up just on Green Feed. And I'll just tell you ladies this. Okay. We are raking our green feed. Because it's supposed to rain on Thursday. So you're trying to dry it faster? And we're trying to dry it faster. So I said, who are we renting a rake from? Yeah. Dad looks at me like I had six heads. He's like, What do you mean? So I was like, what? He's like, we have a rake. So I've been informed we do have a rake, but it's just a rake to like flip it, not the rake to like the swaths. So most rakes though, even if it's only one sided, you can combine them. Because you rake this one this way and the other one the other way and then the baler can get them both. We both know that that's probably not happening. We're just flipping I think it only can flip them together. I would have never thought about that. You could totally do it. You'd have to go back one way and up the other way. Yeah, because you switch, you do every other I don't like Yeah. Yeah, that's the way we used to rake until you got the Thing about so from what I understand, this is a relatively small rake. I think it's got two. Spinny things. Spinny things. I don't know. Just two? That's what it sounded like. I could have at least three. maybe it's three then. I don't know. Update us. I will find a picture of it maybe. Yeah. Maybe I should text Keith and say, if you're raking, send me a picture. This isn't also a for sure thing. This was just depending on how dry it was. Interesting. Yeah, it's supposed to rain and then like downpour on Friday. Yeah. So there's that. So what about you? Or have you hayed yet? I started and I finished. Yay! Yeah. I started last Wednesday or something. Tuesday? Yeah, whatever it was. I think Wednesday. So and then I cut Wednesday, got it all cut. We don't have a very big patch. Yeah. And then raked and bailed Saturday. Hmm. That's exciting. Did you time how long it takes you to wrap a bale? Did did you get the Swiss guys to time yours? No I didn't wrap it. Okay, well I timed mine, it was eighteen seconds. Eighteen seconds. I always get distracted in between. So I when I was cutting, I needed fuel, so my father-in-law came to fuel me up. I should have a video and then I can t and then I can time that. Do that. Yeah. Do that. I'm not gonna lie, I for I know that there's ice in this. And I know I said I was good with ice. You're not good with ice. I just the iced coffee tea drinks are just not You're not a iced coffee. I don't know if I can get all coffee. Okay, so when you're in town and you get you don't get a coffee I get hot coffee. All the time. Or like a blended. Do you ever get a blended? Maybe. Probably not. I would way rather iced or blended than hot. Yeah, but I also Okay. Hm What are you? I'm hot. Yeah, but you're just like a normal coffee drinker. Yes. Yeah, I'm not sure. I don't get I there was like one drink that I always order when I go do my books at the coffee shop that is supposed to be iced. So if I don't clarify that I want it hot, it definitely comes to me iced. Iced. But I try to make sure that I say like Hey, why and I whenever I'm sitting in this might sound this is totally not on the hay topic, but I want it in like a cup. Like I don't want it in a to-go cup. I want it in like a mug. If I'm if I'm sitting in to do something, I want a mug. See, I always want a to go cup just in case. No, I would rather go up and ask if I like didn't finish. I will go up and ask like, hey sorry to be a pain in the butt. I didn't finish this thing I gotta go can I get a to-go cup. I I do not want it in a to-go cup to start those ever. It's interesting. Weird mug. Yeah. Okay, so did you bring your mug into the tractor? Yes, I did. Yes, I am. This actually just this is crazy Okay, but baling, I may took the wrong mug. Because some of them soaked? No, no. This is what I it was just more stressful. It's like it's more stressful because like, and baling is very jerky to start with. Because as soon as it beeps you gotta slam on the yeah. So it's like you're trying to like slam on the brakes and like slow it down. Yeah. Pull it into a slower gear. Yeah. And the coffee is spilling, but you gotta keep the tractor straight. So it's like it's a bit stressful when the beeper goes off. Yeah. I don't even drink out of my water bottle when the beeper goes off. I wait until it's like wrapping. We still have to hold the cup though. We're not drinking like I know, but what I'm saying is like I don't even my water bottle has a lid and I'm not even like holding that. I see. While I'm bailing. Yeah. Like I do it when I'm stopped or if I'm making like if I have to turn around. See, like I drink while I'm while it's wrapping. Yeah, but you just h you have to hold it the whole time. Yes. And then when it's empty, I set it on the floor. But you are holding it for 20 minutes while you are baling How fast are you drinking then? No wonder your granny speed. Our fields are also just like so rough. I could never Ours only are mine's pretty smooth unless you go opposite of the way the They seeded it. The only field that like isn't super bad is the hundred and thirty which is irrelevant to you guys. The hundred and thirty acre field because we had it, it was a year that we couldn't get it plowed because it was so dry. So we hit it with a breaking disc. And then s a neighbor came and power harrowed it, I think it's called. Okay. Like harrow packed it. I don't know what that means, but it's a harrow that just really and like it was like a seed bed. We're doing that next year for whatever we're turning over this year. Yeah. Also, if you can if our mics I'm gonna just forewarn the audience. I talk a lot with my hands, so if I'm all over the map on noise, I apologize. I forgot the things that like hold our mics. Like two that clamp onto something. So we're all holding our mics. Yeah, so forewarning, if the audio is a bit wonk this week, that's on me. Sorry. It's fine. I can't I just like cannot get over you bringing a mug onto your tractor. You must have water. Are you drinking water? I chug it when I get home in. my gosh But not in the So okay, this is when I started cutting Because you're the person that every time I hang out with or or you come to my house you go through like five cups of water. I know, but like I don't. And like, you know, you guys were like last week, you should bring snacks. Yeah. The it came out the same way it went in. Like I don't snack in the tractor. And I was like, I should do this. And then I like, no, I'm if It seems like the place to snack. I literally like if I forget my snacks, I'm turning around. I don't care if I'm in there for an hour or six. Yeah. You can bet your buns I have packed snacks accordingly to the timeline that I'm in there. yeah. And some of them, like I learned yogurt, not an appropriate snack tractor snack. No. I can kinda get away with it when I'm cutting. Like cheese crackers. Yeah, cheese crackers, trail mix. Yeah. Cut fruit. what else do I pack? Ooh, those like mm, they're like the Kirkland brand beef, grass fed beef sticks. It's not beef jerky, but it's like a s like a pepperoni stick almost. Those are slick. What else? No, they're like they're big. What else? RX bars, like a good bar. Cookies. Just anything really. Yeah. I don't know. Lunch? Do you bring lunch? Or just snacks? Generally just snacks. I probably need to be better at like having sandwich things on hand. Yeah, Jorim always packs like a sandwich. Keith, not a big sandwich guy. It has like PTSD. Like bologna sandwiches. From sandwiches, I guess. I don't know, really not a big sandwich guy. but we'll eat them. But I just don't keep them on hand super super often. Yeah. I guess. What okay, when you're when you're bailing or when you're c okay, no, let's go cutting. 'Cause you have a disc bine You tested it. You said you can go in granny gear this year. Yeah. I mean I always went in granny gear, but this time I like actually paid attention. Yes. And it was like two point seven miles an hour. And it looks exactly the same as when so I was like did my outside rounds and then I was like, I don't know, quarter of the way on my straight lines. And I needed fuel. my father in law pulled up and he obviously knows me for who I am and said, How fast are you driving? Yeah. And it's like, Well, like, you know, it's like I I've got it to three miles an hour. And he's like, honey, you need to kick that up a gear You need to kick that up. So funny. But you said like it's just about the RPMs. Yeah. Yeah. So you just run it at a thousand RPM. I'm gonna ask the next salesman that comes to chit chat to us about a disc bine Actually, I've never chit chatted to a single salesman about this. You've never what? Chit chit-chatted. chit ch chit chatted. Keith got s was talking to one. I was gonna say stuck talking to one. It's not really stuck though, is it? Anyways Sometimes. Sometimes. I guess it depends. Dave like brought him down to talk to Keith because dad's like, Yep, he's he's gonna start making these important equipment decisions. And we were like really busy, if I remember correctly, and I think Keith was like Yeah, thanks for the card. Like, bye. Gotta go. See ya later. Like Yeah, it just wasn't that interesting. But I'm curious. I'd love to quiz one on it. Yeah. David's pretty sure that whoever talked to them just misunderstood what they said. No, but it's come from like three or four different people on the discbine So I actually think it's part of the sales pitch that you can go faster is what I Yeah, but he means he probably thinks the miscommunication is that you can go faster. Not that you have to go faster, if that makes sense. I'm gonna test it. And then everyone takes it as you have to go faster instead of you can go faster. I above my pay grade. I don't deal with it. You can do both. I'm but I just wanted to say that. I it's okay. I really am not super interested in getting a disc bine just yet because that means we're gonna have to like upgrade our tractor. Yeah. And I feel like we've just got bigger fish to fry because our tractor currently runs. Just fine. And there isn't any issues. There isn't a crazy amount of hours and Keith likes it 'cause there isn't the what is it? The after treatment? DF? We don't have that yet 'cause it's like before it was like before the cutoff. Right. What year is your tractor? D F D tractor? D F Yeah. All the new tractors have it. Yeah. You think anything after like twenty We do not put DE F in our tractors. What year is your tractor? I don't think we put D F in any of our stuff. I don't know. You can delete them. It there is a certain year where like you they come with DEF. Yeah. You ha and like to have the warantee We have never put DEF in our tractor. Yeah, I think yours is like the same year as W like's is older. I don't know. Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Yeah, and like our Kubota, it's a twenty sixteen, so we don't have to do it. But I think it's like let's Google it. I think it's anything after twenty nineteen. we don't have anything that to do. But that's what I mean. But Like we'd have to upgrade a bunch of things. anyways, so I'm okay not to like upgrade our tractor. Let's yet. I like that First off, it's a reliable tractor, it's never left us stranded. It's perfectly fine for what we use it. I just don't see the need to have like six or seven tractors. Well, and if you get it your hay up in time. Yeah, like we haven't had issues with that. Yeah. Yeah. Not to say that we can't do it. Yeah. It's just I think in my personal feelings on it right this second is like, hey, we actually have s bigger fish to f fry, like land improvement. Yeah. Things like that. Let's do that first and then Yeah. Cause as of right now. And like we have a that's the thing. We have a track we have a our main chore tractor, which is also our main cutting tractor. Yeah. But if like something were to go down, we could rearrange things and still be like all right. Do you know what I mean? Like the main chore tractor has a backup. Like it wouldn't be ideal. Yeah. But overall, we wouldn't be like Yeah. my gosh, we've got nothing. You know what I mean? Yeah. And a lot less a lot of people run excuse me. A lot less equipment doing the same thing. Yeah. And a lot older equipment. K did I tell you guys about the guy that came and plowed our fields? Did I tell this already? I don't know if I did. He had a like tractor from the nineteen sixties. I think you did. And it was from Idaho. Nope. I don't know. Hmm. Anyways, somewhere in those one of those states that farms and they like rebuild them. Well, Keith thinks he found the guy that rebuilt it because he does a lot of videos on like our our series of John Deere, like the 4240s and the 4440s. And Keith is like, my gosh, this guy is so helpful. Yeah. Because some things like seal kits like whatever, it's been nothing but like a pain in the butt. Yeah. So like this guy shows like a really good breakdown. Keith is very excited for. For when the shop is built to be like, I could go through everything and did it like he's he's vibing on that note. Yeah, he's excited. Yeah, he's super excited. Yeah. So yeah. We not only are we getting our green feet up and our hay up, well, our hay is up, but our niece got married last week. and she had it out the farm. And so it was a lot of fun. It was absolutely beautiful. It was such a good ceremony. Our cows our cows. Our cows crashed the wedding. Like right. I'm not kidding you, like 20 minutes after the ceremony they broke the gate down. No. They were still getting pictures. So the ceremony goes like great. everything is lovely. It's a beautiful day. It's super hot. Super nice up on the hill. Yeah. The day before we'd made sure they were like locked into the north side of that field. We set up the electric fence. Everything was good. Mom had because we were busy with like what Some of the wedding prep, but we also had to bail, like it was kind of chaotic. So Keith was like, Hey mom, do you mind just like locking them in, making sure they're in on that side? Right. It's like, yeah, no problem. She, I guess, had a little bit of a rodeo because Keith and I like drove up and he was like, I definitely seen like I'm assuming it was mom and maybe some of the grandkids, and the side by side of the cows just going like around in circles up on top of the hill. So he like went to check to make sure everything was good. And it was like a gate that my brother-in-law had built like a couple years ago. I think I've said this before, he builds gates like he's Hulk, so unless you're him, it's really hard to close. Like so she couldn't get it closed. So she couldn't get it closed and she didn't have wire stretchers and like all these things. She found a way to get it closed. Like I think she loosened off the top wire to like hook it over or something. okay. Got it closed, all was good. We thought nothing of it. Yeah. What we forgot to mention, we as in Keith, I was not part of this delegation, but anyways, what was forgot to be mentioned was like, hey, make sure you move the salt to the other side of the Gate. So we had one on each side. Whatever. So between that probably her doing like the wire and the salt being on the other side, we think what has happened is they were pushed up trying to get the salt in the other and then the gate like and the gate just came on down. And I guess they just started like running. And Keith was like, all of a sudden I just see like three white shirts referring to the groomsman, just like Booking it just like as fast as they could run in. And Keith was up there because he was originally like chauffeuring them and it was like during like family photos. So he wasn't in the photos, but he was kind of like there, you know what I mean? And so I had been down with mom and dad to help mom make like meat trays for the reception. Yeah. All this good in the world. All of a sudden I like get this call. I had a miss call. I had my ring on, but it was like downstairs, so I didn't hear it. And so he was like, somebody's phone's ringing desk, so I grabbed it. I was okay. And he's like hollering. Into the phone. get jump in the side, grab dad side by side and get to the bottom of the field. Get to the road gate. And I was like, okay, but I couldn't really like make out. Like I knew it was urgent, but I couldn't really hear him because he didn't have super great service. Yeah. And so I'm like kind of hustle, I'm hustling down the stairs, and all of a sudden he's like, the yearlings are out. I did. Somewhere along the stairs. Well, I guess like I I ran pretty fast in them, but I also didn't want to be without I was thinking like if I ha if I have to beat them Is it better to have shoes or not? Like at first I was like, maybe shoes would be better. They weren't. It was useless. I would have been better barefoot. So, anyways, I get the gate closed. I called him, he's like, Okay, you can come pick me up. But yeah, I guess they just like broke it down. I think the photographer actually caught the photos. really? Of the the groomsmen chasing the cow. I hope so. So I really hope that was. And like handled it with like so much grace. She thought it was hilarious. Yeah. And I was like, yo, I said, I'm so sorry that happened, but I'm s If anybody were to happen to her, I was glad it was her. Yeah. Kind of thing. I was like, that didn't even happen on my wedding. No. I was like, if that doesn't screen yearlings, I really don't know what else does. Like it is their day. Their day. Yeah. Like they always find a way to be like, what can we do to make complete chaos? Yeah. And they're kinda like, you know, like Jorim always calls them like little rowdy teenagers. Yeah, they totally are. They're just like in their crazy wild like little teenager stage. Yeah. So anyways, that was fun. But overall it went really good. And it was funny the night before we were like, we're at the rehearsal dinner. Dad comes in for dinner. Keith doesn't come in for dinner. I'm bringing dinner out. I get stuck on the baler. We bailed till like 10 o'clock. And like it was fine. We got a hay up. It was good. But I was like, man, I was so like Sunday came. We had to be in town super early for church. Yeah. And then by the time we like got home and had lunch, I was like, just so you know my social battery is drained. Yeah. I am going for a nap and it's like a non-negotiable. Yeah. And he just like looked at me and was like, I don't even need that rudely. I'm just telling you, I've got to separate myself. I can't I'm not helping with reset. Yeah, like I'm not helping with any of the takedown stuff, which most of it got done Saturday night. So I'm not doing that. I'm going to lock myself, I'm gonna read my book and possibly fall asleep. Like just so you know. And he did. And then we had to rip back to town because it was my brother's birthday. wow. So it was very busy busy. Yeah. Anyways. my goodness. That's good. Okay, so this is so funny. So Jorim is very particular about his combine. Yeah. Like he's a princess about having his combine clean. Clean. And so I was taught I was over at the farm and Jorim's brother is there right now and they were doing supper and stuff and we were talking and my one sister in law was like We were talking about Jorim how much he loves his clean combine and she was like, Yeah, I saw him like wiping off his shoes before he like walked into the combine. I'm surprised he done got slippers for in there. He does. He has like combine shoes. That's something else. And then he also got like this goop that you use. yeah, you use it to Yeah, yeah, yeah. You use it to like clean your cars. And see like you have a lot of time combining to clean. yeah. Cause you just like cruise up and down. But it's not like you have to like do anything really. Yeah. Yeah. Yesterday I brought the drone out. Did you? Yes. that'll be fun You'll have to do this. I'm not good at it yet because it's like you know, and you're like you're not I'm not like smooth with the controls yet. I was like trying to go around and it's like So I need to figure out how to get it like really nice and smooth. But I'm on suppers every Monday. So do you guys make a schedule pre harvest? Like you guys are on XYZ days. Do you know? Yeah, yeah. So during seeding, we already had a schedule set. So then you have a big family meeting and you just say this I just sent out a schedule. you did the schedule? Basically, yes. I was like, hey ladies, because I know everybody else's schedule. Like my sister in law works on Thursdays. My mother in law goes to town on Wednesdays. Like I know everybody's schedule. So then instead of like Otherwise it would be this big back and forth, like, but what about this? but what about this? And I'm just like, I just sent a schedule. I was like, I'm doing Mondays, and I can do either Friday or Saturday. Like, depending if I have a wedding or not, then I can do the Friday. And then so it's like all four of us kind of do Friday, Saturday, and then all four of us have a day once in the week. Strict day throughout the week. And then you rotate Friday. Then we rotate Friday, Saturday. Huh. That is okay, it is smart though, because if you then like, hey, I have an appointment on this day. Mm, you gotta get that covered. If it's on your day, you gotta sort out or trade a day, but like this is the schedule. Yes, totally. Yeah, and there's lots of trading that happens too. Like it's like, yeah, I booked an appointment and I can't move it. Can you take this day or whatever? A hundred percent or like, hey, I'm sick, can you take this day and we'll switch? Mm-hmm. And that works fine. What did you make this week for? I I made tater tot casserole. Classic. It was so good. Classic. Okay, and also something that I love about harvest, so in the springtime, we have to do supper boxes. So then I like give Jorim five boxes and these boxes are going to who knows where, what. Like we're just like all over the place. Okay, wait, question. Does he come home to deliver the boxes? Like he comes home, picks up. In the springtime he does. In the spring. Okay. But not during harvest. No. During harvest I do everything in like a crock pot or like nine by thirteen. Because they're all the same field. They're all in the same field. Or they're trucking. One guy's at the grain bag in the yard. Right. Two guys are trucking. Two guys are in the combines, one guy's grain carting, but the guys who are trucking and then doing the grain bake stuff, then he just brings that guy to the field. Yeah. And then we all just have like supper together. so you guys like shut down for supper really quick. Yeah. Eat your dinner together. You just haul out your crock pot or your casserole or whatever. I hauled out my crock pot, my casseroles, my salads, whatever. In like one big like a laundry basket, basically. Right. And then you just eat on the back of the truck. Yeah. Sick. I love that. Or I bring a blanket. And sit down. Yeah. Yeah, that's really nice. Yeah, I like that more than like the supper boxes things because then it's like we're all together hanging out. But when we first started, like when we were dating and first married and stuff, we would eat on the combine. Yeah, that's what I thought. Yeah. It was like go, go, go. But now we all have kids and it's like let's hang out. It's nice. Like the dad can hang out with the kids. So do you guys all go for supper in the field every night and just No. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, you don't cook? No. Okay. Just the night that you're once you bring the kids out. Today's Tuesday, I ain't going over there because they're at a field that's like half an hour away. so I am not hauling out everyone. And then he's doing what I've got to do at a set time. We typically say like dinner's ready at six. Like we leave we everybody tries to leave the house around six. Right. And then by the time we get there it's like six thirty ish. Ish. But then lots of the time we like get there. Hey, I'm here. And then you're sitting waiting for another half an hour because the guy's way over there on the other end of the field. Or the guys who are trucking, like just got to grain bag Right. They have to unload. They on load. They have to unload and then come. That makes sense. Yeah, I don't know. I find it so satisfying. Like if if I'm bringing out dinner to Keith, if I time my pull-up to like the field. When he's like right there. Yeah. It's so satisfying. I used to follow him around when I we were like first married. And wait for him to spit it on a bale so that I could just quickly like Okay. And it now I'm just like Da I'm like, nah. I'll wait. I'll wait. Because I don't like it. I'll just wait. And I did my first zucchini dish. Which was? Yeah. I was like, it's zucchini time people. Like, everybody lock your doors. Lock your cars. I have no zucchini, so like Mm-hmm. Stepmom just gave me zucchini and I was like sick. Do you need zucchini? Yes, please. Send me the zucchini. I'll take it. I just put it in the crock pot and put like parmesan cheese with it. Someone just asked me if I wanted spaghetti squash. Salt and pepper. take it. Spaghetti squash is so good. I hate spaghetti squash. WHAT loves spaghetti squash. I'm sorry, Brianna. Next time I'll say yes. You don't like love. I don't like squash or zucchini or anything like that. I also don't grow it. Yeah. Okay, wait, so No pumpkin spice for Lacey. I'm not on the pumpkin spice. I'm not against it, but I don't know if I'm like fully for it. If somebody picked it up for me, if somebody picked it up for me, I would drink it. Yeah. But I don't think I would go out of my way to order it. I order like one or two a year. But I make my own. My sister puts it puree and spices in her coffee. Pure? Pure. Pure. Sure. No, that was good. I love that. It's puree. It's puree. makes it and puts it. It's like chunky in the bottom. And it's like, yeah, you gotta like s chew and swallow your coffee. It's just not how it's meant to be. Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna And like she starts like mid-August. Yeah. like early. And then like all the way to Christmas. I am I don't know. The only like pumpkin thing that I like really pumpkin pie. Okay, I have two pumpkin things that I love pumpkin pie. Jorims Favorite pie is pumpkin pie. Yeah, I I'm gonna have to second that. I love pumpkin pie. Mm-hmm. My second one is I have a recipe for it's like a pumpkin cake. Pumpkin chocolate chip cake. And it is so I have a pumpkin cookie recipe. Mm. That is so good. I really like the cakes. I'd probably like the cookie, but as if for my coffee I could take it or leave it. It's not one that I'm like, mm, you know what I mean? I go either way with it. I like it. I'm pretty sure I have been years before since I have had to eat pumpkin anything. Well I like roast pumpkin has evolved. It has evolved. Maybe it's it's gone better, is what she's saying. She's saying Yeah, but like how? It's still pie. It's so good. Nasty crust, mushy squash filling. I forgot your. Do you not like cinnamon? Yeah, okay. Like I like the spices. But then Would you do like a pumpkin spice coffee without the puree? Like you you just don't like those spices. This is like the wildest white girl chat we've had in a minute on this. Continues. Like with ginger and nutmeg and cinnamon in a coffee. Which is basically pumpkin spice. I know, but it's a little bit different. Yeah. Okay. So you actually like the pumpkin flavor, whereas Lacey prefers the spice. Yeah. The the spices that make up a pumpkin spice latte. You actually like pumpkin though, Trinity. I like both, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, okay. I don't know. Okay, wait. I don't know if anybody knows. I just switched my mug because drinking out of that class was not happening and I had to dump the ice out. But I have to shout this mug out. Shout your mug out. It is River Stone Studio. And she's local to us, and I got it at the In Bloom Market. And I think it's the cutest. It's beautiful. But look at the handle, okay? The handle is like a perfect the handle makes or breaks the cup. I almost think it's too skinny. Skinny for me. no, really? Yeah. That's my favorite part about That's the part about a wide handle, girly. That's my favorite part about it. As we spill your drink. Yeah. Please don't spill any drink. It feels a little skinny for me. The bottom should be the same as the top or yeah, the top should be the same as the bottom. Okay, no, I fully disagree. I put that mug in my hand. Really? And it just like a glove fit. I would hold it. That is also how I hold it. Yeah, like it feels like I'm gonna drop it almost. That is probably also how I hold my mugs more so. It is so gorgeous. I love the vibes The handle is at least a decent size. Like you can actually get all your fingers. Fingers in it. Yeah. Yep. Anyways, loved her work. I actually went to the in bloom market strictly to go to her booth because She'd posted a story of like a cowboy hat with pottery cowboy hat with flowers on it. I saw that. And it was so pretty. So I thought it was for sale. It wasn't. And I was gonna put it in the new studio when we get there. It's not for sale, but it sounds like she's gonna have more markets and things come up. So I'm super looking forward to it. And I think we should We'll all have to hit up the markets. Yes. Or like maybe contact her. But I wanna like contact her do a custom mug. For all of us in the new studio. Yeah. But this is gonna be like my new office mug. We can celebrate the new studio by getting a new mug. Yeah. Anyways, I like that's my show note. She was ten out of ten. Super friendly too. Really? nice. It was a lot of fun. That's amazing. So yeah. That was so off topic, but this glass wasn't doing it for me. I would take that glass in the tractor. It's a perfect This mug? Yeah. Because it's the right shape. break that down what makes it anything I have absolutely should never go in the tractor. I have never broken now that I say that, I will. Yeah. I've never broken a mug in the tractor. Whereas like David left his mug out on the lawn that he got from our trip Your Mexico trip? Yeah. He got a mug. Yeah. Okay. And Joshua Tree. it was a really cool mug. Very sturdy. Lovely mug. And he just left it out? He left it. He must have had coffee and forgot it out there. Or the kids took it out with water. I won't 100% blame him Okay, okay, okay. He does take He does leave things. Yeah, yeah. Anyways, yeah, the handle broke off. So for the record, I have never broken a cup in the tractor. See, I would never take like a nice mug out. they're my favorite. I did take this mug to the church. My favorite ones. I did take the mug to church. I did not have the hot coffee on it in it getting to church. I put it in a to go cup. And I know it's gonna be like, you gotta create dishes. I put it in a to go Cup. Then when I got to church, I dumped it in the mug and worshipping. Did anybody comment on Yes, I had lots of comments on my mug and how beautiful it was. you're like advertising for her everywhere now. Absolutely, I will I will. I absolutely will. But it was worshipping and drinking out of a mug, I will support you. Tractor and mug, I'm I'm not on board. But on the top of have you tried it? Because I have you met me? Okay, I drove to my mother-in-law's with a mug. I tried it a couple weeks ago. It was very stressful. I have too much gravel I'm too much, yeah. I'm thinking too much about like, is it gonna spill versus like is there an animal on the road? You might gotta let your hand be free. I agree. Because then like if you're if you're like my goodness, it's gonna spill Then it jerks, and then obviously your hand jerks. I agree. Whereas if you just like ride out the bumps, it doesn't matter. I do agree with that. Says the lady who has coffee on the top of her truck somehow. I have coffee on the top of my truck. You've got like a stain up there. In the No, there's on the window. yeah, on the window. Okay, but that is because I drove through the end of my driveway in the rut. And I'd open the gate and then I left my coffee mug sitting on the dash and was like, I'll just like drive through and then jump out and close the gate. Yeah, that's I know. There was a big bump and it sloshed and it was full because I was leaving my house. That is how I got coffee out the window. Is to keep people out. It deters people. It does. No, Like Jordan never wants to go over because he's like that stupid bump. It's less than it used to be. It's really good now. It is it's better. It's still like three years ago. It used to swallow my sister's car. Yeah, the first time I ever went out to your place, I was like, I think my I think I'm gonna sink. I remember. I don't understand because like we filled it full and filled it full, and then as soon as it gets wet, it just washes out. It's like the Beaton Hills. Yeah. They keep on They're still they keep on grading it. They're working on that, by the way. It took me forever to get here because that's where they were. Working on the same corner. they're replacing the culvert because it On the corner? Yeah. Didn't they just replace it? I was gonna say Yeah, but they put it too close to the surface. Idiots. Just kidding. I don't do road work. I have no idea. Okay, let me get into it for one second about road work. These guys I just it makes me so mad. They painted the lines on the road, which is like yay Praise the Lord, finally. Then they go and fill all the cracks. They seal the cracks afterwards. And now you can't see the paint. They seal the cracks after the fresh paint job? Yes. Wouldn't you go the other way? Yeah, you'd hope it was the other way. Yeah. Wouldn't you go the other way around? My girlfriend works at the ministry and I was like, listen, I don't I got a bone to pick I don't ever want to complain to you. Because I know that's what you hear all day, every day. But like I need to tell you this because it is. I just want to know why. Yeah. That's why we need to know. That's like they did the cut across road. I was like, can we not communicate? Yeah, it seems like lack of plotting. They the cut across road with like the ceiling of the cracks. Yeah. That one right on the big corner though, that's like a sinkhole. They didn't fill. They didn't even do it. There are potholes in the middle of the road that are worse than my driveway, ladies. I agree. I'm not disagreeing with that. not wrong. But yeah, it is something. I was like, you went all the way out here to seal these baby cracks, but you didn't think to fix that. Yeah. Probably above their pay grade, but I was like, that is the problem. Yeah. Because you gotta like swerve onto oncoming traffic. So much red tape paperwork stuff that they have to wait on to like so annoying. Like that's what annoys me too, is like there was they had to close down our cut across road for like two weeks or something. Because the co The culvert literally like washed away. There's this giant hole underneath the road. One of our neighbors moved the barricades. So people thought it was open. And they were just driving on And everybody was just driving across thinking it's fine. But then my sister-in-law like talked to the guy and was like s like the main guy for the the roads. And he was like, No, like you should not drive on that. Like that is not safe. And I was like my goodness. That is so stressful. Can we stop? Yeah. Road maintenance is something else. Yeah. But he was waiting on like paperwork. Until I believe it's fix I believe it. Like it's so annoying. That's like we have like a square culvert culvert on our road, like an old one. A square. It's like an old wood one. It's ancient. It was probably one of the original ones put in when OG like when that road was built or when they built that road or like whatever. 'Cause like granny and granddad were there before power came in. So like it was a long time coming to get everything. Anyways, there's but almost every season you'll see a new road guy out that has to like stop to figure out 'cause it always floods. Yeah. There's two spots, it just like always floods. And they get out and they can't figure out that culvert. Like I watched one guy this young kid was there for like w way too long. Yeah. Walking from one side of the road to the other side of the road trying to figure out Yeah. what the deal was and he was like in there with like a stick and it's like quite obviously not a normal culvert. Yeah. He c it and he was like on the phone, like you could tell he was absolutely perplexed about why that culvert was still there. But it works and it's a b it's bigger than those like big than the really big ones. One the really big ones. So and it hasn't fallen in, so they've just left it they've just left it. But it did wash out decently aggressively this spring just before washed out. So we'll see how that goes. But yeah, it doesn't matter. Like unless it's the there's like one old boy that I think has been there quite a while, he doesn't even check it. Like he knows. Yeah. But like there was probably two springs, like these two young guys are like just and just absolutely perplexed. Like just walking from one side to the other side, like cannot figure out. It is weird to look at. Yeah. And it's really deep. Like you know how like ditches now they're kinda like Sloped, whatever no, it's just like an absolute whoomp into it. like it's really aggressive. It's really intense. But anyways, it works. I don't know how long that's us on road maintenance. What a weird tangent. But yeah. Should we do a recipe this week? Totally. It's been a minute. Let me find one. Okay, you got one? Cause I literally just did well I did my tater tots and that was so good. But I already did that one. I feel like yeah, but I feel like you have more recipes lately because you're the one doing harvest meals. I really have to Okay, honestly, I made like a beef stroganoff. I have something funny on beef stroganoff. The other day. And it was so simple. And it was just Was it good? Yeah, it was great. Cause I do like chicken broth I add like either beef broth or chicken broth to it. I just like make my ground beef. Yeah. With onions. Yeah. And then you just add all your beautiful spices to it. And then I add broth to it. Okay. And then I add cream of chicken. Not mushroom. Or you could do both. If you wanna like spice it up, If you want it to go further, then you can do one of each. And then for people who don't like mushroom like me, then it doesn't taste so mushroomy. And then you add a little bit of like sour cream or milk or and then a ton of cheese. Call it a day. No, I did beef so funny story when Keith and I were like first dating, or like maybe it was our first Valentine's before we were married or something. I can't remember. We were like on a we were doing a meal plan because we're hitting the gym. We're doing all these things, and beef stroganoff was like on the list. And we decided we weren't gonna go for dinner. We were just gonna do a cute date night over beef stroganoff. Okay. It was the most horrendous meal. So bad that Keith hadn't eaten like bad food nor he he had he ate gluten in like probably three months. Yeah. We ordered pizza that night. And now we just joke on a scale of one to beef stroganoff, like beef stroganoff being the worst. That's that's how we rate our why is it so bad? I don't know, it's terrible. And then we I've never made another beef stroganoff ever, ever again because it was so bad. It was the cream of mushroom. No, there wasn't even cream of mushroom. well maybe that's your problem. Yeah, I don't know. But anyway We need cream of something. I don't remember what was in it, but it wasn't. Did you go on a recipe? Yeah, it was on the recipe and everything else out of that meal plan was ten out of ten, but that beef stroganoff was You should do a redemption stroganoff. You can make it and I'll try it. Okay. Deal. I'm not making it. We need a lot of salt, a lot of beef broth. Yeah, I don't know. It just was bad. That's funny. my go-to meal this week. Also been a beef meal has been it's like so you stew meat or like stir fry meat. yeah. Or ground beef, whatever beef you have on hand. Chunk it up, cook it, do onions, peppers, add in beef broth, then add in your what is it called? What is that stuff called? red tie curry paste, like a tablespoon of that in there. Then add in your frozen green beans and serve it with either I had gnocci on hand, so I served it with gnocci But you could do it with like rice. gnocci like it's like a potato dumpling gnocci Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Anyway, super good. It's like saucy and creamy, but it's like it's one of those that kind of uses up a lot in your 'cause you can add any vegetable you want. Yeah. And then pair it with any whether it's rice, noodles, gnocci you can pair it with any starch you want. Right. So it's like a good use it up twenty minutes. Call her done. Super good. And you like it's like kind of like a stir fry. Hundred percent, but just saucier. Really good. and then so I did the beef broth and then I added in like a cup of milk. yeah. Or cream. Whatever. So good. Highly recommend. I'm all about a twenty minute meal, especially if it can be cooked in one pan. Yeah. Throw that in there. Love that. Do you have anything? I well, like we've been getting potatoes now, so I've been doing like squirreling your patch. Are you squirreling or d have you pulled up a whole lot? Well, some of them are growing in places that I didn't actually want them, so I've been pulling up those plants. I haven't actually even started on the main herd patch yet. It's just the free range in my garden. Yeah. but yeah. So I just do like smashed potatoes. So what you boil them first? I love smash. I bake them. I do like a parboil. Yep. And then you smash it. And then you salt it. Cheese it. I did cheese. I didn't bake it. I like salt, pepper, dill, powder, garlic, onions, and then butter. And then soaked them, like smashed it and then drizzled. Does it take when you Okay. So you smash it first and then you bake it? No, I bake it. You bake it, smash it, bake it again. And then bake it again. I see. How long does this take your and then you could add like cheese or I don't know, like thirty minutes? Okay. That's pretty good. I feel like mine would take longer. My potatoes, my ovens. I air fry mine. yeah, airfry in the oven. Yeah, that's Because like I don't have an actual oven. Yeah, toaster oven. I have like the little toaster air fry oven. So I air fry them. You know, when for all you ladies who are gonna have a thousand zucchinis, I love to like chop them up into like circles and then you put pizza sauce on it. And then you just put like ham or just like whatever meat you have, you can like sprinkle that on and then cheese. Ooh. And then you bake it and it literally I think it's like four fifteen for like ten minutes and it's done. Ooh. And they're like little pizza bites. Okay, that's a brilliant idea because I like a buttload of lunch meat that I need to use up from the wedding. Do pizza bites. I wonder if they'd freeze good Probably not. But they'd begin to eat. But you could just freeze the meat. Yeah, you can freeze the meat. Yeah, I'm gonna do a bunch of pizzas. I need your recipe here. Pizza crust recipe. Yeah. They thought I had it. I don't. Okay, anyways, we've divulged. Yeah. That's it. That's us. Have a great week, folks. Yeah.
