- 0:00Speaker 1: Ho then or whatnot.
- 0:01Speaker 2: So Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to an episode
- 0:04Speaker 2: we haven't done a long time. I hadn't tracked it
- 0:07Speaker 2: down yet, but I think it's like late twenty twenty
- 0:10Speaker 2: two or twenty twenty three.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We used to do these all the time.
- 0:13Speaker 2: But I was telling this family, like, you know, Katie
- 0:16Speaker 2: had a kid, I had multiple kids, Taylor had a kid,
- 0:20Speaker 2: Clay had a kid, all these people. So it's just
- 0:22Speaker 2: like I was like, why why don't we do those off?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Mike right, A.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Bunch of you said kids and got really busy, but
- 0:27Speaker 2: we had so much more time.
- 0:28Speaker 1: But what this is.
- 0:29Speaker 2: This is the keep first GUA crossover because we're doing
- 0:31Speaker 2: this in honor you know, our tenures coming up. But
- 0:34Speaker 2: just in June, it was crazy. GUA has been around
- 0:37Speaker 2: for five years. It was weird because we got some
- 0:39Speaker 2: notification tweet. There's some random account that tagged Star Wars Ali. Yeah,
- 0:43Speaker 2: it's like some no, we know, it's just like celebrating
- 0:45Speaker 2: their five year anniversary. Is this is like no one,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I've never heard of anything. Okay, cool, but uh yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 2: that's what we're doing today. Other people are gonna be
- 0:52Speaker 2: popping in another GA people a little bit later for them.
- 0:55Speaker 1: So that that's why people like, I'm popping in here,
- 0:57Speaker 1: popping there.
- 0:57Speaker 2: So we're gonna get going and yeah, we're just gonna
- 0:59Speaker 2: talk about random stuff, geek stuff like stuff catch up
- 1:03Speaker 2: and everything like that.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But I'm dressed now and I'm joined by you know.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I'm pre compatser excited to be here.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Hey, I'm doing the Field of Fields to the Field.
- 1:14Speaker 5: The Man Without Fear Chris.
- 1:15Speaker 6: Valgan, Katie Stars Lions.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's been And you wouldn't even know what
- 1:26Speaker 2: because I was saying, people are just be joining so
- 1:28Speaker 2: and I did.
- 1:29Speaker 1: We did. We just did intros now, so you wouldn't
- 1:31Speaker 1: even know that you just came in. But hey, the
- 1:33Speaker 1: secret you know. So how's it going, Joe?
- 1:37Speaker 7: Oh, not too shabby. I just got done with interview.
- 1:40Speaker 7: Episode will be coming out on Tuesday. That was kind
- 1:43Speaker 7: of fun. Uh yeah, Joe. Oh, well, Joe, I'm host
- 1:49Speaker 7: of Walked to the Multiverse. The interview I just uh
- 1:53Speaker 7: did was for I was the author of the book
- 1:59Speaker 7: called Ilarium.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I can't spell that. Hold on, I'm gonna try the.
- 2:04Speaker 7: Uh Vitelarium Descent into the Void. There's some novel also
- 2:10Speaker 7: a kind of book, but it's a whole different matter.
- 2:13Speaker 7: But it's a novel about dystopian future, which is kind
- 2:16Speaker 7: of fun. But yeah, no, it's by Nick Cassabario and
- 2:21Speaker 7: uh yeah, really interesting, really kind of fun. I gotta
- 2:24Speaker 7: go word that book now because the book was really cool.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I'll do the cheap plug there there it is right
- 2:29Speaker 2: there there you walking into the icy mountain and a
- 2:33Speaker 2: big spider in the background.
- 2:35Speaker 4: So that Superman's house or something.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah, the assaulted.
- 2:40Speaker 8: I mean that was the Nick Cage movie with a
- 2:42Speaker 8: giant spider in the third act.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he fought a giant spider. So me and this
- 2:46Speaker 2: this guy does have long hair, so maybe it is.
- 2:49Speaker 7: That guy is Roman Matthews. So yeah, Roman Matthews. Okay, yeah,
- 2:55Speaker 7: I mean Nick did a really good, really good sell.
- 2:59Speaker 7: I mean really, I really just did. The comic that
- 3:04Speaker 7: he sent me and I got to read the first
- 3:07Speaker 7: two issues. Was really cool. And the comic is basically
- 3:10Speaker 7: a from what he was telling me, and I know
- 3:13Speaker 7: it's a little spoiler for the episode, but is basically
- 3:18Speaker 7: the book itself into comic form. But no, it's a
- 3:24Speaker 7: it's a The book sounds awesome, so I gotta go
- 3:28Speaker 7: check that out at some point and go get that.
- 3:31Speaker 2: How did you, like, do you know this person through
- 3:33Speaker 2: a friend or a friend or did they just hit
- 3:35Speaker 2: you up?
- 3:35Speaker 7: They reached out to me nice, so I'm like, hey, yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 7: I can definitely come on, we can definitely figure this out,
- 3:41Speaker 7: and and uh cool, Yeah, I just I like that's
- 3:45Speaker 7: I mean, one of the things I love about Walk
- 3:47Speaker 7: through the Multiverse is being able to interview Kickstar the artists,
- 3:52Speaker 7: Kickstar authors and book authors and being able to get
- 3:57Speaker 7: their products out there to uh to people who may
- 3:59Speaker 7: not have known like myself, who may not have known
- 4:03Speaker 7: about that product.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So have you turned anyone down yet? Has there been
- 4:06Speaker 1: one that didn't fit?
- 4:07Speaker 2: One time? I didn't tell the guys one time. These guys, Uh,
- 4:10Speaker 2: there's like a someone's.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Writing a book about pinballs and they wanted to come
- 4:14Speaker 1: on the show, and I just said, no, I don't think.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Them.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I just I don't think that's maybe name.
- 4:21Speaker 9: It's like taking his quarter share and making a big I.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Will ford you the email next time.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And I was like, I don't know if we need
- 4:27Speaker 2: to interview the pinball book guy, because I just we
- 4:29Speaker 2: don't have the time. We already are we already complain
- 4:31Speaker 2: we don't have enough time, and that's like, I don't
- 4:33Speaker 2: know if that's the right. Like, I don't know if
- 4:35Speaker 2: our audience is going to be like, oh where this
- 4:36Speaker 2: book sounds like it's more for both the we're walking
- 4:38Speaker 2: the multiverse.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It feels like it fits through there, but pinballs.
- 4:41Speaker 5: It'll screw up your algorithm. You don't want to do that,
- 4:43Speaker 5: you know.
- 4:44Speaker 7: I haven't turned anyone down per se as much as
- 4:50Speaker 7: I have. There was one in the there's one in
- 4:53Speaker 7: particular recently where we had agreed to figure figure out
- 5:00Speaker 7: a day through record and then he kind of ghosted me,
- 5:04Speaker 7: and I'm like, well, that's kind of that kind of sucks.
- 5:07Speaker 7: He got back to me a few weeks later and
- 5:10Speaker 7: I'm like, yeah, hey, you know he apologized. I'm like, okay,
- 5:14Speaker 7: I still kind of want to interview you. Let's figure
- 5:16Speaker 7: something out. And then I never got back to him
- 5:19Speaker 7: because I kind of forgot because I was like, it
- 5:21Speaker 7: was a month of June and I got busy. And
- 5:24Speaker 7: then my one friend's like, no, he fucked you over before. No,
- 5:28Speaker 7: don't that was wrong, right? No, actually it wasn't. No,
- 5:34Speaker 7: it was the other one.
- 5:35Speaker 1: No, Yeah, all.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Right, well that fits too.
- 5:42Speaker 8: So anyway, I had to turn down someone decent for
- 5:45Speaker 8: World's Finest for a Creator Spotlight, and it wasn't. It
- 5:51Speaker 8: wasn't because they, you know, ghost to me at that point,
- 5:54Speaker 8: it was I wanted to do kind of a it's
- 5:57Speaker 8: a it's.
- 5:58Speaker 5: A husband and wife.
- 5:59Speaker 8: They were big in the industry, and they they were
- 6:04Speaker 8: promoting one of the kickstarters that they were doing.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Unfortunately the kickstarter a little saucy.
- 6:10Speaker 8: Totally fine with it, but in my line of work,
- 6:13Speaker 8: I don't need something necessarily too Yeah, William de Foe
- 6:19Speaker 8: and in his.
- 6:22Speaker 5: New boo, but I'll put it in the private chat.
- 6:27Speaker 8: I don't want to say it because he totally understood,
- 6:31Speaker 8: just didn't under it, just hated that because of people
- 6:34Speaker 8: can't disassociate like saying, well, they're not.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I said, well, you know, in my.
- 6:38Speaker 8: Line of work, I can't necessarily totally look like I'm
- 6:41Speaker 8: promoting things that may be questionable.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, want your book to pop up on something.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but next time, you know, send them our way
- 6:49Speaker 2: and then we'll yeah, we'll send you the Pinball people out.
- 6:57Speaker 8: But I mean they were very nice, they're very understanding,
- 6:59Speaker 8: and actually see them pretty much once a year at
- 7:03Speaker 8: the Comic Con.
- 7:04Speaker 5: So we we have good we have a good conversation.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Just shaking their head. There's you know, there's Chris, and
- 7:10Speaker 1: there's guys screwed me over? Yeah, what about you?
- 7:14Speaker 2: Because samthy Kay and Clay like you guys have been
- 7:16Speaker 2: doing some interviews the past couple of years. Yeah, we're
- 7:19Speaker 2: we're light on the interviews, you know, we we just
- 7:21Speaker 2: it's because we're Canadian.
- 7:22Speaker 1: We tell people that and they're like, no, we don't
- 7:24Speaker 1: want to do that.
- 7:24Speaker 2: But how has that gone for you with the because
- 7:26Speaker 2: you've been doing a lot of the publishing side.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I know a lot last year happened, but how how
- 7:30Speaker 1: have all those been?
- 7:31Speaker 2: Have you interviewed everyone that you've talked with or was
- 7:34Speaker 2: there someone that didn't You don't got offsee by name,
- 7:35Speaker 2: but it was somebody that didn't work out or just
- 7:37Speaker 2: somebody you're like, eh, maybe not gonna go this route.
- 7:40Speaker 6: So we have asked for a couple interviews from Random
- 7:48Speaker 6: House World in a lot like I feel like Star
- 7:52Speaker 6: Wars podcasting. And maybe that's just because like my social
- 7:55Speaker 6: media area, like everyone I followed basically drops a star
- 7:59Speaker 6: worst author interview when these new books come out and
- 8:03Speaker 6: so because we're one of the newer podcasts, we tend
- 8:06Speaker 6: to fall by the wayside. The two. Tom the editor
- 8:13Speaker 6: from Random Housewards, We've done two interviews with He's been awesome.
- 8:17Speaker 6: He actually volunteered the first interview we did and was like, yeah,
- 8:21Speaker 6: I'd love to get you guys out there. So we
- 8:24Speaker 6: did that with him the first time and that was awesome,
- 8:26Speaker 6: and then the second interview with him was really cool too,
- 8:31Speaker 6: just learning about the process like mega behind the scenes.
- 8:35Speaker 6: And then the two author interviews. I basically hounded Adam
- 8:41Speaker 6: Christopher was like like I talked with him in his DMS,
- 8:45Speaker 6: like it was like, I'd love to get an interview
- 8:48Speaker 6: for this book because it was the Luke Skywalker book
- 8:50Speaker 6: that he did Shadow of Sith, And if y'all had
- 8:53Speaker 6: listened to anything I've done Star Wars Legends is like
- 8:57Speaker 6: how I'm a finn girl for Star Wars. And so
- 9:02Speaker 6: I was super excited about having the first Luke Skywalker books.
- 9:05Speaker 6: So when that was announced I stayed on it. And
- 9:10Speaker 6: then Steven Barnes for Mace Wendu The Glass of This
- 9:14Speaker 6: he messaged us and like followed us on Patreon. So Steven,
- 9:18Speaker 6: if you're listening, but yeah, he joined our Patreon, was like,
- 9:25Speaker 6: thanks for the awesome review, would love to talk to
- 9:27Speaker 6: you guys. Here's my email, and so like, sure, we've
- 9:32Speaker 6: missed out on a lot of interviews that like when
- 9:35Speaker 6: we've really we wanted one, we've like hunted for it,
- 9:38Speaker 6: or it's just kind of dropped into our lab.
- 9:41Speaker 2: So yeah, that's what's so funny about because like when
- 9:44Speaker 2: you say with the podcast, it's crazy how there's so
- 9:46Speaker 2: many podcasts around the world are massive, and so many
- 9:48Speaker 2: celebrities that have them now, but there's still so many
- 9:51Speaker 2: places that if you don't have a written website that
- 9:54Speaker 2: has reviews up there, they they don't even look at
- 9:56Speaker 2: the same thing with like, uh, screens and stuff. That's
- 9:59Speaker 2: why we never get looked for screeners because it's just
- 10:01Speaker 2: like you don't have a website, you don't.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Have a bunch of wrin stuff.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And I kind of got it maybe when we started,
- 10:05Speaker 2: but now it's like podcasts are just massive and so
- 10:08Speaker 2: many people have them, and there some of them can
- 10:10Speaker 2: be such a big deal. So it's like I feel
- 10:11Speaker 2: like it should be the same way, like if you
- 10:13Speaker 2: have enough of a following, I guess it's just harder
- 10:15Speaker 2: for someone to go through all that content.
- 10:18Speaker 1: To see if they like.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Where you can pull up a review for five movies
- 10:22Speaker 2: five shows, read them quickly, or even have an intern
- 10:24Speaker 2: versus us doing like a three hour review on something.
- 10:27Speaker 2: But I'm still kind of hoping that I'll change and whatnot,
- 10:31Speaker 2: because yeah, screeners and stuff. I never hear back from
- 10:33Speaker 2: like anything, and I've given up a long time ago.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But at the beginning, it was just kind of like, yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 2: there's nothing. The only thing I tried once is one
- 10:39Speaker 2: time on Twitter. Uh, a producer of the Saw movies
- 10:44Speaker 2: liked an episode of ours and I sent a message
- 10:46Speaker 2: and they just go So they even followed us. I
- 10:48Speaker 2: sent a message to want to get.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Him on there and then.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I pull up he still does he still he still
- 10:56Speaker 2: follows us.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But uh, yeah, I never never did that interview for
- 10:59Speaker 1: a song.
- 11:00Speaker 6: Well I didn't like y'all know that. I used to
- 11:03Speaker 6: do written reviews and stuff and I worked for some
- 11:07Speaker 6: pretty decent sites and we still had trouble getting screeners
- 11:11Speaker 6: and stuff. So I think, like, especially after COVID, people
- 11:16Speaker 6: are just struggling with it, and so it's like who
- 11:18Speaker 6: you know, which was why? Yeah, like Adam Christopher suggested
- 11:22Speaker 6: us when an interview fell through of his and suggested
- 11:26Speaker 6: us to Random House and was like, hey, these people
- 11:30Speaker 6: have asked if they could do an interview with me, Like,
- 11:33Speaker 6: let's get them plumped up. And that's how we got
- 11:35Speaker 6: started working with Random House Worlds. Like, we didn't get
- 11:38Speaker 6: any advanced readers copies before that. So thank you, Adam Christopher.
- 11:44Speaker 6: I really appreciate it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I hope that happens. But it's uh because
- 11:50Speaker 2: even then, I'll see lots of sites that are the
- 11:53Speaker 2: are more on the writing side, and sometimes their following
- 11:56Speaker 2: is so small, but they're getting these screeners.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I just don't even there's a site that I've fallen.
- 12:00Speaker 2: It's like, i'd say about ninety percent a wrestling website,
- 12:03Speaker 2: but they still get and they're not even like a
- 12:05Speaker 2: massive wrestling website, but they still get.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Screeners for X, Y and Z shows. They post those reviews.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'm like, this is in your main thing, so you
- 12:11Speaker 1: know it's you know.
- 12:13Speaker 6: It's ridiculous.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so we'll see. I don't know, you know, Dale
- 12:19Speaker 1: used to interview some you interview people all the time
- 12:21Speaker 1: for Cryptic c News, Right.
- 12:24Speaker 10: I've turned some people down just because they're just because
- 12:26Speaker 10: they're being they're being weird.
- 12:28Speaker 9: There's this one guy.
- 12:29Speaker 10: His agent found me and was like, hey, I got
- 12:32Speaker 10: someone that I want you to interview if you're interested,
- 12:34Speaker 10: and I checked out their their history went on. I
- 12:36Speaker 10: was like, okay, yeah, this guy's writing some books. You know,
- 12:38Speaker 10: he seems pretty well off, well educated.
- 12:41Speaker 9: Well informed. Let's let's get him on the show.
- 12:43Speaker 10: So got his contact information, reached out, and we were
- 12:46Speaker 10: back and forth between like two dates, and then finally
- 12:49Speaker 10: I said, okay, like, I can't do uh this third
- 12:51Speaker 10: date that you proposed. And then a week later he
- 12:55Speaker 10: sent me an email saying all right, I'm I'm available
- 12:58Speaker 10: for this date and I said I responded.
- 13:01Speaker 9: I was like, no, I'm not available for that date.
- 13:02Speaker 2: And then the day that was the day and you
- 13:04Speaker 2: said that you couldn't do like you told him you couldn't.
- 13:06Speaker 9: You told him I couldn't do it.
- 13:07Speaker 10: And then I get the day of it's like six
- 13:09Speaker 10: thirty and he's checked my email and he's like, hey,
- 13:12Speaker 10: send me the link. I'm ready to go, and I'm like,
- 13:14Speaker 10: I'm done with this guy.
- 13:17Speaker 9: This is a joke. So I didn't end up following
- 13:19Speaker 9: through with that.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Oh he's still waiting. He's still he's still waiting in
- 13:25Speaker 1: that room.
- 13:26Speaker 11: You know.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Oh yeah, he told me he was supposed to be here.
- 13:29Speaker 6: The Legends says he still walks here waiting for that interview.
- 13:33Speaker 10: Yeah, And you gotta you gotta kind of like I mean,
- 13:36Speaker 10: you guys know, if you're doing the interviews, you gotta
- 13:38Speaker 10: kind of siphon through the the you know, the find
- 13:42Speaker 10: the right person to break it down and the movie interview.
- 13:45Speaker 2: A bunch of different people For people that don't know
- 13:47Speaker 2: like he there's other podcast is you know, urban myths
- 13:50Speaker 2: and legends and stuff. So there's a lot of different
- 13:53Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that, but you've even said that.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Sometimes you've talked to people that I said, oh, this
- 13:56Speaker 2: isn't like a genuine sort of thing.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Maybe you know, like there's just some yes.
- 14:01Speaker 9: And that's the thing too.
- 14:02Speaker 10: A lot of people that I try, and you know,
- 14:05Speaker 10: I connect with and I ask, oh, can I like
- 14:06Speaker 10: sure your story or whatnot? And then I'll go a
- 14:09Speaker 10: step further sometimes and be like, hey, would you actually
- 14:11Speaker 10: like to come on the show and be interviewed? And
- 14:13Speaker 10: a lot of people, of course they're apprehensive, but some
- 14:15Speaker 10: people are like, oh, yeah, I've never done one before.
- 14:16Speaker 9: Sure I'll do it.
- 14:17Speaker 10: And i don't have a lot of interviews, but I've
- 14:20Speaker 10: got a little catalog which.
- 14:21Speaker 9: Is kind of nice.
- 14:22Speaker 10: But when you met started to bring up interviews, I
- 14:25Speaker 10: was taking back in time to remember that notes. When
- 14:28Speaker 10: we did Dylan for that guy that did that Superhero
- 14:32Speaker 10: we met a like tripos and we wrote down notes
- 14:34Speaker 10: for the interview, and then we called them up and
- 14:38Speaker 10: we interviewed the notes guy.
- 14:39Speaker 12: That was so long ago. That was like probably twenty
- 14:42Speaker 12: sixteen or something, that was probably early.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Years of the week person. I have it because.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I got a story that guy at one point, like
- 14:52Speaker 2: years later message again, so I got the date here
- 14:55Speaker 2: when it was.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So you guys did that interview in twenty eighteen, and
- 14:58Speaker 1: then in twenty twenty two, he sent me like three
- 15:03Speaker 1: paragraphs about how they were appearing at wonder Con and
- 15:06Speaker 1: all this stuff. And I said, oh, that that's cool,
- 15:08Speaker 1: but what is this concerning? And then he said, Oh,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I'm just informing you all, that's all. I'm like, you're
- 15:13Speaker 1: informing us that you got a panel going on. He's
- 15:15Speaker 1: like yes, And then I said, oh that's good.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Like like like I was just like I was question
- 15:22Speaker 2: like is he wanted me to promote it or something
- 15:24Speaker 2: like that, and then he just like lost it on me.
- 15:26Speaker 1: He blocked us.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So he was really really upset that I was just
- 15:28Speaker 2: not like I was like like I was like, well,
- 15:30Speaker 2: I don't know, like who you throw like a retweet
- 15:33Speaker 2: or something, but like what Like I was just very say.
- 15:36Speaker 9: A guy coming to you about the pinball book or whatever?
- 15:38Speaker 1: No, no, that guy, I just I don't think so.
- 15:40Speaker 2: But yeah, he just got really offended to Like, oh,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I was like, well, what do you want us to
- 15:43Speaker 2: do with this information?
- 15:45Speaker 1: It wasn't like a hay gee first.
- 15:46Speaker 2: It was just like a block of text that he's
- 15:48Speaker 2: sending to random people, to a bunch of people, and.
- 15:50Speaker 1: That's so it's okay, So like what what's the deal
- 15:52Speaker 1: with this?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Like, oh, I thought you supported content creators and just block.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So I think he's going through something in twenty twenty two.
- 15:59Speaker 2: But you know, check out his there's a comic book,
- 16:01Speaker 2: there's you know, there's a few, there's somewhere. So but
- 16:05Speaker 2: uh yeah, no, we we haven't done too many. So
- 16:08Speaker 2: but uh yeah, so how is uh I don't know
- 16:11Speaker 2: where where we wanna go? Do they wanna have a
- 16:13Speaker 2: topic we want to go to first, talk about some
- 16:15Speaker 2: broad strokes, talk about you know, past five years, you know,
- 16:18Speaker 2: and I think, I guess, man, I guess, I guess.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Actually I should say that I should say a few
- 16:23Speaker 2: thank yous to a few people that might not appear,
- 16:25Speaker 2: because yeah, I know Brent, he's not in town, so
- 16:27Speaker 2: he's not gonna be there. But a big thing to
- 16:28Speaker 2: Brent for taking over Marvel lines for him for many years,
- 16:31Speaker 2: A big thank you.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I had message.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Uh, I tried to get Greg on this, but he
- 16:34Speaker 2: never uh, he never responded to me back. He's responded
- 16:37Speaker 2: to me before, but it's always like weeks in between.
- 16:39Speaker 2: So after the fact didn't happen. But a big as
- 16:42Speaker 2: I usually say shout out to Greg because we all
- 16:44Speaker 2: wouldn't have met if it wasn't for him, because of
- 16:46Speaker 2: civil servants, and he was on for many years.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And then Weird Science they did our beer run with us.
- 16:51Speaker 2: We were talking about how we don't talk about comic
- 16:53Speaker 2: books that much anymore because it's it's more just just show.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It was Weird Science and they're gone.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Then Chris's show is retired and so like that, and
- 17:01Speaker 2: that's why I guess I could start there, because how
- 17:02Speaker 2: do you feel in now since the World's Finance has
- 17:04Speaker 2: been done? Do you also it was a lot of work?
- 17:06Speaker 2: But do you miss it every once in a while
- 17:08Speaker 2: do you get like it sure, you're like you're happy
- 17:10Speaker 2: it's buried.
- 17:11Speaker 9: I missed it.
- 17:11Speaker 8: I mean the it's the other things that it led
- 17:16Speaker 8: me to link up with other comic focused shows at
- 17:20Speaker 8: that point, so I do it.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I was really offended you were doing a show on
- 17:23Speaker 2: a different network when I told them why you stream
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yard Login?
- 17:27Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it was it was coming about and there's
- 17:30Speaker 8: some there's some other benefits that come along with it
- 17:33Speaker 8: that were hard to pass up for for collecting. But it,
- 17:38Speaker 8: as I said, when going to you know, Heroes con
- 17:42Speaker 8: and things like that, I still have those connections with
- 17:43Speaker 8: the creators, and you know, the the other show I'm on,
- 17:48Speaker 8: they do interviews too with creators. So it's going to
- 17:50Speaker 8: allow me to scratch that che every once in a while.
- 17:52Speaker 8: But it just I guess it unfortunately has got to
- 17:54Speaker 8: the point where it kind of what happened with Joe,
- 17:56Speaker 8: where you know, a guest ends up kind of ghosting
- 17:59Speaker 8: you and changing things last minute. It got more problematic
- 18:05Speaker 8: than what it what I wanted to set out to do.
- 18:08Speaker 8: But once I just said all right, I'm gonna get
- 18:09Speaker 8: to one hundred episodes and then and then call it
- 18:12Speaker 8: and again it was Hey, it changed my.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Life and allowing to be on the network.
- 18:18Speaker 2: So yeah, and you met a lot of other like
- 18:20Speaker 2: creators and whatnot, like just combook people and stuff, and
- 18:22Speaker 2: especially yours, because like it wasn't just an interview. You
- 18:25Speaker 2: always have to read all Like obviously you've probably read
- 18:28Speaker 2: a lot of the graphic novels or complicts that people
- 18:30Speaker 2: would be requesting, but even then you want to brush
- 18:32Speaker 2: up on it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: You get the information at least with the interview is like.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Okay, I can just kind of talk to them about
- 18:36Speaker 2: their stuff, but if it's about a specific topic like that.
- 18:38Speaker 8: And now the changeover in the job in the last
- 18:41Speaker 8: four or five months, yeah, I'm kind of glad it
- 18:43Speaker 8: kind of Yeah, it was good timing. Yeah, so I
- 18:48Speaker 8: missed it, but I could always say that better than
- 18:50Speaker 8: the hat was. It was a show that was my
- 18:52Speaker 8: own and I got to lead it to beyond where
- 18:56Speaker 8: I ever thought it could be.
- 18:57Speaker 2: So yeah, well yeah, and then you you kind of
- 18:59Speaker 2: hold it with a well maybe seem La or maybe
- 19:01Speaker 2: not because I said nothing behind trous Hines. But with
- 19:04Speaker 2: you Heines and Katie, you guys were the one host
- 19:06Speaker 2: on all your shows. You guys have gone through now
- 19:08Speaker 2: you know, multiple co hosts now, but you guys have
- 19:10Speaker 2: held that down for years. So congrats on that and stuff.
- 19:13Speaker 5: So and then survived.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah yeah somehow yeah. So but yeah, Katie, how's it
- 19:20Speaker 2: been these past five years? What what you've been thinking
- 19:22Speaker 2: about for now? Because it's kind of crazy. That's half
- 19:24Speaker 2: a decade now for go, We're going ten years and
- 19:26Speaker 2: it doesn't feel like I guess it's we did start
- 19:28Speaker 2: during COVID the network, but it just feels odd.
- 19:32Speaker 1: That's already fun.
- 19:33Speaker 6: It's definitely insane, and I would be remissed without bringing
- 19:36Speaker 6: up the now you found me on Super Civil Servants
- 19:41Speaker 6: because of my Daredevil hot take, like that's true.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I still do.
- 19:49Speaker 6: But you know, like coming in with two shows, it
- 19:53Speaker 6: definitely felt like a hot mess, like to start because
- 19:57Speaker 6: and no idea what I was doing. I never hosted
- 19:59Speaker 6: my own show before on my own and so taking
- 20:03Speaker 6: on two of those because like Nathan was there for
- 20:07Speaker 6: Star Wars Alliance, but like I did all the planning
- 20:10Speaker 6: and stuff for it to start, and so like starting
- 20:14Speaker 6: it during code probably a blessing because I was able
- 20:17Speaker 6: to put more into it than really I would have
- 20:20Speaker 6: been able to do it right now. Yeah, and like,
- 20:25Speaker 6: don't get me wrong, I love doing slice of film.
- 20:27Speaker 6: I loved getting in movies, but it did start to
- 20:29Speaker 6: feel like homework and sometimes I, like Chris said, sometimes
- 20:32Speaker 6: you do want to scratch that itch and like bring
- 20:36Speaker 6: it back. But at this point, I'm a new mom,
- 20:40Speaker 6: like still figuring stuff out.
- 20:42Speaker 13: I have my own jobs.
- 20:43Speaker 6: Like, so it definitely Star Wars Alliance is definitely where
- 20:48Speaker 6: I feel the most comfortable. And Clay stepping into the
- 20:51Speaker 6: coho's role has been absolutely amazing. I feel like we've
- 20:54Speaker 6: had a laugh for the past four years that he's
- 20:56Speaker 6: been a co host on that and so yeah, I'm like,
- 21:01Speaker 6: I don't know where I would be without this network, honestly,
- 21:04Speaker 6: like it's brought me a lot of blessings.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So just Trash and Daredevil somewhere else, you know, on
- 21:10Speaker 2: Twitter or whatnot. But yeah, hopefully Clay will be join
- 21:14Speaker 2: us a little bit because you guys, you guys got
- 21:15Speaker 2: a good back and forth and you know, hopefully you know,
- 21:18Speaker 2: you guys finally get into Star Wars movie.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Think about that.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I would never thought when we started the network that
- 21:23Speaker 2: the entire time this network has been alive, they've not
- 21:26Speaker 2: reviewed a single Star Wars movie because the time has coming,
- 21:31Speaker 2: not a single one for five years, you know, because
- 21:34Speaker 2: I know.
- 21:35Speaker 6: Like a lot of people are like, well, like books
- 21:37Speaker 6: are just so much, but like books is all Star
- 21:40Speaker 6: Wars has really right now. Yeah, and of course there's
- 21:43Speaker 6: comics too, but like comics being a monthly thing, it's
- 21:47Speaker 6: a little more chaotic than books and stuff, and we
- 21:51Speaker 6: do try to hit like the trades that release and everything.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Because even if Ahsoka is the only known live action
- 21:58Speaker 2: show right now, right that's coming out, yeah, which is
- 22:02Speaker 2: kind of scary because like Marvel's just doing one.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, Marvel's just doing one.
- 22:07Speaker 2: And I guess that's why maybe Star Wars is actually
- 22:10Speaker 2: gonna start doing movies again, because I just don't want
- 22:12Speaker 2: to spend the money on Disney Plus. But it's just
- 22:14Speaker 2: and it's crazy. We don't really have a date for
- 22:16Speaker 2: ah Soca. We just got I don't even know where
- 22:18Speaker 2: those images came from.
- 22:19Speaker 10: Last week where it was like Ezra Empire magazine didn't
- 22:22Speaker 10: they Empire for.
- 22:24Speaker 6: San Diego Comic Con because of like I think, I
- 22:32Speaker 6: oh gosh and terrible with the background people. But like,
- 22:35Speaker 6: the Special Effects Company has a panel at San Diego
- 22:40Speaker 6: Comic Con, so they put that out and so it
- 22:42Speaker 6: type was an Empire exclusive, but it was for the panel.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Oh I see, okay, Yeah, well hopefully Manland and Grogu
- 22:51Speaker 2: you know, gonna You're gonna be good next year. I mendo,
- 22:55Speaker 2: I got I got my I got my worries.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I uh, you know, I don't know.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Katie's the same as me on actually you might be
- 23:02Speaker 2: harsher than me. Sometimes it comes to felony. But yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 2: so sorry, Taylor, no flony love here. Taylor's still Taylor's
- 23:09Speaker 2: still trying. He's still trying to pitch this man every year.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Why he's the best.
- 23:13Speaker 9: Give him a movie and see what he can do.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You said that the show.
- 23:17Speaker 6: They gave him Clone Wars, which fair good show. They
- 23:21Speaker 6: gave him Rebels, good show. But like jumping into live action,
- 23:26Speaker 6: the dude's a hot mess. The dude is a hot mess.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Oh Clay, he's just joined at the right time, talking about.
- 23:33Speaker 9: Put some love on the fire here.
- 23:35Speaker 14: Oh god, what are you all talking about Oh God, God,
- 23:45Speaker 14: So I have a love hate relationship with the Looney.
- 23:49Speaker 13: We've talked about it. You love to hate him? Well, no,
- 23:54Speaker 13: like we we love to love him and we love
- 23:56Speaker 13: to hate him.
- 23:57Speaker 11: Like that's that's the that's the problem is that he
- 24:02Speaker 11: when he cooks, he cooks, and when he has burnout,
- 24:06Speaker 11: dear god, it's kind of disgusting.
- 24:10Speaker 13: But like the one thing that I always go.
- 24:15Speaker 11: Back to, UH, And I have yet to say this
- 24:18Speaker 11: on air just because I think it's absolutely hil no, no, no, it.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Actually canceled both our shows.
- 24:25Speaker 11: It It actually goes back to UH to geek verset Uh.
- 24:31Speaker 11: I think the finale of season three of Mandalorian when
- 24:35Speaker 11: you guys used chat GBT to yeah.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Because you're so disappointed the finane.
- 24:45Speaker 11: And you guys joked about like you don't know which
- 24:48Speaker 11: one was better. That's that's where I'm like a little heartbroken.
- 24:53Speaker 11: Is that, Like we can just over the years to
- 24:56Speaker 11: talk about how Ai slop is absolutely discussed, but we
- 25:01Speaker 11: legitimately joked about, oh crap, chat GBT made a really
- 25:06Speaker 11: hilariously stupid but yet like on par Dave Filoni ending,
- 25:12Speaker 11: so yeah, it's it's I don't know how to feel
- 25:17Speaker 11: about it sometimes.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, we're gonna have to see but yeah, Clays,
- 25:23Speaker 1: just join us. How's it going. How's how's life going?
- 25:26Speaker 7: Uh?
- 25:26Speaker 13: Life is going decently.
- 25:30Speaker 2: You always got something, something's always.
- 25:33Speaker 11: I know, for real, it's been it's been a while
- 25:37Speaker 11: since I've it's been a while since I've seen a lot.
- 25:40Speaker 13: Of you guys's faces.
- 25:41Speaker 11: Actually, yeah, but if people didn't know, I now work
- 25:45Speaker 11: at a Lunar Distribution, which is now mostly the top
- 25:51Speaker 11: dog when it comes to distributing comics. Uh, And so
- 25:55Speaker 11: there has just been a lot of drama going on
- 26:00Speaker 11: along with that, now that Diamond Distribution is no longer
- 26:03Speaker 11: a thing.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Would be comics if there wasn't drama in the industry, That.
- 26:08Speaker 13: Is so true. But yeah, just dealing with a lot
- 26:13Speaker 13: of that, and just.
- 26:13Speaker 11: Like seeing this side of the comic book world is very,
- 26:18Speaker 11: very wild and very sometimes very stupid.
- 26:21Speaker 13: To be completely OUs with you, there's some things that
- 26:24Speaker 13: I cannot say, but I I I.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Work with some publishers that I.
- 26:33Speaker 11: Exactly there's there's just some there's just some publishers that
- 26:38Speaker 11: I work with that I'm just like, how are we
- 26:42Speaker 11: making comics still today?
- 26:43Speaker 13: If this is how things are going about.
- 26:47Speaker 7: Man say the name.
- 26:56Speaker 11: Yeah, well no, like it's just like, uh, the thing
- 26:59Speaker 11: with that I talked to you about you the thing
- 27:03Speaker 11: that I showed.
- 27:03Speaker 13: You guys yesterday.
- 27:05Speaker 11: Like my boss Legit said, Hey, we are talking to
- 27:09Speaker 11: DC tomorrow at San Diego Comic Con.
- 27:12Speaker 13: I'll bring this up.
- 27:13Speaker 11: As far as leality goes, there's like a retailer out
- 27:18Speaker 11: there that is selling stuff on eBay that is AI
- 27:23Speaker 11: generated sexually explicit art books.
- 27:29Speaker 8: That good thing I ended World's Finest before they came
- 27:32Speaker 8: to calling.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Right, yeah, so so.
- 27:36Speaker 11: And so, like we didn't know what we're gonna do
- 27:39Speaker 11: with them because they they added their account to Lunar
- 27:43Speaker 11: Distribution and we're like, should we sell these guys books?
- 27:50Speaker 11: Should we you know, help feed the fire and everything?
- 27:54Speaker 11: But my boss was just like, oh no, we're talking
- 27:56Speaker 11: to DC tomorrow about it. I was like, oh shit,
- 27:59Speaker 11: that was quick. Cool, We'll see what happens.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be interesting the next because YouTube, I
- 28:06Speaker 2: don't know if they've done it or they're gonna do
- 28:07Speaker 2: it when they announce that hole they're gonna put. Uh,
- 28:10Speaker 2: you can't monetize the AI trailers or the monetization is
- 28:13Speaker 2: going to go.
- 28:13Speaker 1: To the companies, so they've already done it, had they
- 28:15Speaker 1: already got Okay, yeah, I wasn't sure about that.
- 28:17Speaker 2: So because there's there's so when you search trailers nowadays,
- 28:21Speaker 2: especially for the big movies, most of them you'll get,
- 28:24Speaker 2: you know, a couple of the tops, which are the
- 28:25Speaker 2: real ones, but then all the rest are these fake
- 28:27Speaker 2: ones and the most fake poster but they are. They
- 28:32Speaker 2: have their biggest they have the biggest views, like sometimes
- 28:36Speaker 2: just as much as the trailers. And it's just it
- 28:39Speaker 2: reminds me of an image I saw someone was sharing,
- 28:42Speaker 2: uh like a it was like a meme going around,
- 28:44Speaker 2: but it was a real conversation. Someone screencapped the conversation
- 28:47Speaker 2: they're having with their mom, and their mom sent them
- 28:49Speaker 2: a trailer for Titanic too, and the guy was like, well, no, mom,
- 28:53Speaker 2: that's ah, that's fake and she's like, well, I guess
- 28:54Speaker 2: we'll see, and it's like no, but it's not a
- 28:56Speaker 2: real movie.
- 28:57Speaker 1: They've at least with the fake stirs.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Back, like that's what was happened last decade, where it
- 29:02Speaker 2: was those fake Facebook posters that would always fool people,
- 29:05Speaker 2: But now it's these trailers and they do I get
- 29:07Speaker 2: some of them are probably just watching them for fun,
- 29:09Speaker 2: but some people I bet are watch them because they
- 29:11Speaker 2: think it's the real thing.
- 29:13Speaker 7: Every time I would try and find a picture for
- 29:16Speaker 7: any like any episode, I would try to when when
- 29:19Speaker 7: I upload an episode for the show and like I'm
- 29:22Speaker 7: looking for Reacher or Last of Us and I'm looking
- 29:25Speaker 7: for a picture and it's like showing a scene that
- 29:28Speaker 7: is one hundred said not in the episode. I'm like,
- 29:30Speaker 7: what in the Like for Reacher, example, it's always uh,
- 29:36Speaker 7: Alan Richton his Reacher character strapped in the chair with
- 29:39Speaker 7: like no shirlo on chest, all out, and then whatever
- 29:42Speaker 7: female character was in the episode also like fairly clad
- 29:47Speaker 7: strapped in a chair. I'm like, that did not happen.
- 29:53Speaker 6: Yeah. No, My my family basically sends me anything nowadays
- 29:59Speaker 6: and is like is this legitimate? And I'm not as
- 30:02Speaker 6: on social media as I used to be, but I'm
- 30:04Speaker 6: still able to identify it, thankfully. But yeah, I'm like
- 30:07Speaker 6: the filter for everything pop culture through my family.
- 30:12Speaker 15: Yeah, it's now I'm seeing reached like like you're gonna
- 30:18Speaker 15: enjoy see like a trailer for Reacher three with Tom Cruise,
- 30:21Speaker 15: like all the stuff that's not ever being made, but.
- 30:25Speaker 5: Those Avengers doomsday trailers are quite entertaining well.
- 30:28Speaker 2: And that's why it's not a spoiler for Dylan KM
- 30:31Speaker 2: seen f F. But like because I on the review and
- 30:33Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say what it was, but on the
- 30:35Speaker 2: review I brought up there was the day of fantast
- 30:38Speaker 2: four coming out, there was the postcred scene leak, but
- 30:40Speaker 2: it wasn't the postcred scene he was.
- 30:42Speaker 1: It was an an a high one.
- 30:45Speaker 2: And yeah, it's it's it's pretty like, don't get wrong,
- 30:49Speaker 2: this stuff's getting better. It's but there's always that stuff
- 30:52Speaker 2: where they go to a certain character and he says
- 30:56Speaker 2: a line and he sounds the most robotic you've you've
- 30:59Speaker 2: ever so it's like everything he's like looking completely fine.
- 31:01Speaker 2: It looks very similar to the movie, you know, like
- 31:04Speaker 2: the static, the color, like it's like, okay, they got
- 31:06Speaker 2: that whoever went to the AI, like they clearly saw
- 31:09Speaker 2: four and plug this in there. But then you switch
- 31:11Speaker 2: to the actor and they say their line and it's
- 31:13Speaker 2: just robotic.
- 31:15Speaker 1: But but there's many time it's not right.
- 31:17Speaker 2: There's those creepy videos of the the AI being like
- 31:19Speaker 2: so are AI and they're talking to you about why
- 31:21Speaker 2: they're AI.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Or I know Kirkland and Taylor really like these.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Stupid bigfoot AI videos and with the selfies that they're talking
- 31:28Speaker 2: there so good.
- 31:32Speaker 8: Was it with the apes and saying I just got
- 31:33Speaker 8: out of this just those have been all over the place.
- 31:38Speaker 5: It's I get a good laugh atou on TikTok so.
- 31:40Speaker 11: But there was also going around TikTok I think about
- 31:43Speaker 11: like a month ago, every popular video and even trailers
- 31:50Speaker 11: they were making like babies. They like every everything a baby,
- 31:55Speaker 11: and I was like, that's just I don't know, it's
- 31:57Speaker 11: just creepy.
- 31:58Speaker 8: Some people can make babies, some people can't write Travis.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, are you saying just because I have movies movies? Okay,
- 32:08Speaker 1: I thought you were. We had too many.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Kids, believable looking baby, another one's still trying.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah there's some there's some bad movies out
- 32:18Speaker 2: right now with some bad CGI is going on. Yeah,
- 32:20Speaker 2: it's yeah, it's it's an interesting situation. But yeah, well
- 32:26Speaker 2: we'll see what happens. But yeah, we're done for Marvel
- 32:29Speaker 2: and DC movies now. Now we got shows. We got
- 32:30Speaker 2: what we got Peace Baker and then wonder Man, which
- 32:35Speaker 2: is who Okay here I want to ask this who
- 32:37Speaker 2: here's seeing Ironheart. That's not Chris and I okay, okay, okay.
- 32:42Speaker 2: So I wasn't sure because I no one, no one
- 32:45Speaker 2: dropped in the guh chat.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I have seen Ironheart. I don't think. I can't remember.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Maybe I was.
- 32:51Speaker 13: I was a little late on it.
- 32:53Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, and it was because yeah, it was like
- 32:58Speaker 6: we were trying to watch like three things at a time,
- 33:00Speaker 6: and Matt and I are still at the point where
- 33:03Speaker 6: we're like, okay, we can watch things together, and so
- 33:07Speaker 6: it takes us a hot minute.
- 33:09Speaker 7: Of course, it also the help that they dropped three
- 33:12Speaker 7: episodes and then the other three episodes.
- 33:14Speaker 6: I don't like this and or was so much. It
- 33:19Speaker 6: was so hard to review, Like, yeah, I was.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Not a fan that and I'm not. It's not as
- 33:25Speaker 2: bad as Peacemakers. Just gonna be one episode every Thursday.
- 33:28Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't like the six yeah for now,
- 33:33Speaker 2: but I think that'll stick.
- 33:34Speaker 1: But then wonder, man, I don't know. I don't know
- 33:37Speaker 1: what they're gonna do.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I bet that I think they're gonna be like Echo.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I bet they're gonna do drop it all all I think.
- 33:43Speaker 2: So I think, yeah, it's Christmas time, they're gonna be
- 33:47Speaker 2: focused on Avatar.
- 33:48Speaker 1: They're not gonna care about.
- 33:49Speaker 4: One of the man, like, because what if? Right, it
- 33:51Speaker 4: was like every day pretty much.
- 33:53Speaker 7: Over the eight days or a week ago.
- 33:56Speaker 6: It's an animated show versus a live action.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and then echo they did that, and then I
- 34:02Speaker 2: I appreciate that they had, Yeah, yeah, go on the
- 34:05Speaker 2: red carpet or the Blue carpet for a Fantastic four
- 34:07Speaker 2: and character as the actor, Like, Okay, that's fun. But
- 34:09Speaker 2: I just I just don't think they're gonna pump that
- 34:12Speaker 2: show out at all.
- 34:13Speaker 5: But says Marvel Studios.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Does he see Marvel Studios, Yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 8: Because they put they put it in all their their
- 34:22Speaker 8: upcoming stuff as promoted. But we still don't know. Here's
- 34:25Speaker 8: another thing we still don't and we don't know zombies yet.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Right, Well, no, that's October. I thought it was I
- 34:31Speaker 2: thought October. I thought so okay, yeah, and no, Dylan,
- 34:35Speaker 2: we were asking if him going on the Blue Carpet's.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Cannon like that.
- 34:39Speaker 4: I'm saying I would.
- 34:40Speaker 2: I would like that if they did like the Shea
- 34:42Speaker 2: Halt thing where they kind of make some fun in
- 34:44Speaker 2: world references, or if anyone.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Saw like the Last Matrix.
- 34:46Speaker 2: But I wonder if she all scared them and they're like, oh,
- 34:49Speaker 2: we don't want to break the fourth wall too much
- 34:51Speaker 2: or mention Kevin fig and yet da da So but
- 34:56Speaker 2: let's see Marble Zombies but uh okay, and then iawa
- 35:02Speaker 2: Kon is out next week and then they're all just
- 35:05Speaker 2: binge drop.
- 35:09Speaker 4: A weekly thing. Or is that all at once?
- 35:11Speaker 5: All ones?
- 35:11Speaker 13: All one?
- 35:12Speaker 2: So you got ones, you got zombie all ones. I
- 35:15Speaker 2: imagine that will be all ones in the next year.
- 35:18Speaker 6: Season coming out in October and not all at once.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Oh, Visions is October two.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I was just thinking about that the other day because
- 35:25Speaker 2: I want to rewatch those so, oh it's good.
- 35:31Speaker 8: Yeah, I watched stuff that's probably one of the best
- 35:35Speaker 8: things that Star Wars took a chance on it, and
- 35:37Speaker 8: I'm glad they they allowed.
- 35:41Speaker 5: You know, because they're so like you know, one could
- 35:43Speaker 5: say Marvel too.
- 35:44Speaker 8: But Star Wars is very protective out of everyone about
- 35:48Speaker 8: what how they do things things like that for so much,
- 35:51Speaker 8: so like all the non canond stuff is legends now
- 35:53Speaker 8: and they don't want to acknowledge it.
- 35:55Speaker 11: So I was about to say Disney is very careful
- 35:59Speaker 11: with how are portrayed with stars.
- 36:02Speaker 8: Oh, true, true, But I mean the fact that they
- 36:06Speaker 8: they allowed this to be out there. Yes, we all
- 36:08Speaker 8: know it's not canon, but they keep allowing other studios
- 36:12Speaker 8: to get a chance to play with the toys in
- 36:16Speaker 8: a way that you.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Know, people's like, I want to know them more about this.
- 36:20Speaker 8: I want to see these characters, like the Ronan one
- 36:23Speaker 8: that they created a whole novels around.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I still want to read that. I was it
- 36:27Speaker 1: that end up being good?
- 36:29Speaker 13: Yeah? It was actually really really fun. Now, I will
- 36:32Speaker 13: say it is one that you kind of have to
- 36:35Speaker 13: pay attention to because they literally change.
- 36:40Speaker 11: They literally change the entire way you look at Star Wars.
- 36:46Speaker 2: So the way that it's still cannon, right, it's still
- 36:49Speaker 2: like it's not it's not canon, so cool.
- 36:51Speaker 11: The way the way that the Force works and visually
- 36:55Speaker 11: how it works is completely different.
- 36:57Speaker 13: It almost seems very magic based.
- 37:01Speaker 11: So it's it's less about like this like very weird
- 37:05Speaker 11: entity of like in a supernatural state.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Yeah, more just almost right, yeahh.
- 37:12Speaker 11: And and this is more of like something that you
- 37:16Speaker 11: would see and look that of like a dungeons and
- 37:18Speaker 11: dragons typing.
- 37:19Speaker 13: It's it's very visually magical.
- 37:22Speaker 6: I am very interested to see if they keep the
- 37:25Speaker 6: novel Cannon to the show because of the sequel to
- 37:31Speaker 6: the duel that's coming out in Sight three.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I would just love it one time for Star
- 37:37Speaker 2: Wars and I said this for the other brands too,
- 37:39Speaker 2: but I would love it if they announced that they
- 37:41Speaker 2: are doing a Star Wars movie like that, but it's
- 37:43Speaker 2: not connected anything. I don't think the GA is really
- 37:45Speaker 2: in the care If it's a good movie, they're just
- 37:47Speaker 2: gonna see it.
- 37:48Speaker 1: And if you just say it's years before, like I'd
- 37:49Speaker 1: love it, they're just like.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna let one of those vision stories something
- 37:54Speaker 2: like that go and get a massive budget.
- 37:56Speaker 1: But they're probably just.
- 37:58Speaker 6: A little too imagine they're going to do a cut
- 38:01Speaker 6: of the Ninth Jedi TV series for that, I would
- 38:08Speaker 6: say Ninth Jedi TV series is happening.
- 38:11Speaker 11: Okay, Yeah, I would say either the ninth the Ninth
- 38:15Speaker 11: Jedi or the one that they fought for uh actual
- 38:19Speaker 11: awards was.
- 38:23Speaker 13: The Village Bride yep, I think was the title of it.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Yep, I got to look that up.
- 38:29Speaker 1: There's so many of them.
- 38:29Speaker 6: But because all three so the Duel, the Village Bride
- 38:35Speaker 6: and the Ninth Jedi getting sequels, and then the Ninth
- 38:37Speaker 6: Jedi is getting the TV series. Yeah, I think the
- 38:43Speaker 6: Ninth Jedi is is that released it seven or twenty
- 38:47Speaker 6: twenty six, Clay.
- 38:48Speaker 13: I think it was twenty seven, Yeah, because.
- 38:52Speaker 1: That's a book or a TV show they're doing.
- 38:54Speaker 6: That's a TV show, So.
- 38:56Speaker 2: They're doing just like an animated show about the village Bride.
- 39:01Speaker 13: The Ninth Jedi.
- 39:02Speaker 11: Okay, Yeah, that was the one where and spoilers for
- 39:07Speaker 11: anybody who hasn't seen Vision season one, but there's like
- 39:14Speaker 11: a father and daughter. Uh. He he's a he's a
- 39:19Speaker 11: lightsaber forger and he was apparently on a mission to
- 39:23Speaker 11: go send the lightsabers to what looks to be like
- 39:29Speaker 11: a new uh Jedi council or like another rebirth of
- 39:34Speaker 11: like some sort of accumulation of Jedi and it just
- 39:38Speaker 11: and like the really big twist is that like there
- 39:42Speaker 11: was what we would probably guess of as the Sith
- 39:46Speaker 11: was like eavesdropping and knew.
- 39:49Speaker 13: About this meeting and everything, and it kind of goes
- 39:51Speaker 13: all haywire but really fun.
- 39:53Speaker 11: Like I when we first reviewed it, I said that
- 39:57Speaker 11: I would love an animated movie or series of of
- 40:04Speaker 11: that one show or that one episode.
- 40:07Speaker 13: Now we got it, So that's awesome.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I I hope we get more of that stuff.
- 40:13Speaker 2: But like I said before, I think what's gonna happen
- 40:15Speaker 2: is next year. Well, I don't know if it's gonna
- 40:17Speaker 2: make a billion. I'm not with Dylan and Taylor over there.
- 40:19Speaker 2: I think man Lurin's making a billion, but I think
- 40:22Speaker 2: he'll do well. And then we're just gonna get more
- 40:24Speaker 2: of that type of stuff.
- 40:25Speaker 6: And I think you may have like Star Wars fatigue
- 40:28Speaker 6: from movies. So you might have people who are like
- 40:31Speaker 6: fatigue movie.
- 40:33Speaker 1: We haven't thought movies.
- 40:36Speaker 7: What do they get fatigue on k I'm good fatigue.
- 40:40Speaker 6: They'll know I go to bed at a half hour ago.
- 40:48Speaker 6: Fatigue was the wrong word. But like, people haven't seen
- 40:51Speaker 6: a Star Wars movie, So I think people might go, oh,
- 40:54Speaker 6: there's a Star Wars movie. I'm gonna go see that.
- 40:57Speaker 6: So you might have that because it's been a while.
- 41:00Speaker 1: But it's like anti fatigue.
- 41:01Speaker 6: That sounds like yeah, I can't think.
- 41:06Speaker 11: Maybe well, and not not only that, but there is
- 41:11Speaker 11: a small worry of like some people and this is
- 41:17Speaker 11: probably a very small portion percentage of people that are
- 41:22Speaker 11: gonna be like, oh, there hasn't been a Star Wars
- 41:26Speaker 11: movie and so long, is it really worth it trying
- 41:29Speaker 11: to get back into it, blah blah blah, and they
- 41:31Speaker 11: probably won't, you know, watch it until it's probably unstreaming
- 41:35Speaker 11: or something. So that can possibly hurt. But I don't
- 41:39Speaker 11: think the demographic for that is big enough to cause
- 41:43Speaker 11: any real harm to a box office.
- 41:45Speaker 9: I think you're gonna get the Avatar effect.
- 41:47Speaker 10: You know, it's been a while, haven't seen anything.
- 41:50Speaker 9: Pop up in theaters related to it, and people are
- 41:53Speaker 9: just gonna flock.
- 41:54Speaker 10: Because it it's just it's, oh, it's been so long.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Travis, five more months, I get that pizza from Clay. Finally.
- 42:07Speaker 1: This is like a three year old bet.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Okay, So what was what was the official bet?
- 42:11Speaker 2: He bet me that Sonic three was gonna do better
- 42:13Speaker 2: than Avatar three because at one point there the same
- 42:15Speaker 2: release day, Yeah, the Avatar got bump and then Avatar
- 42:18Speaker 2: two became the third biggest movie all time.
- 42:20Speaker 13: So I feel pretty that was that so disgusting.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Taylor, Taylor, maybe a terrible box off or a terrible
- 42:30Speaker 2: bet yesterday during our Dexter episode.
- 42:31Speaker 10: So pizzas no, no, no, that was not you're sharing
- 42:38Speaker 10: with Travis.
- 42:38Speaker 9: That's what the bet was you're sharing.
- 42:41Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 42:41Speaker 1: No, me and Clay still got a couple because he
- 42:43Speaker 1: beat me. I said, I said, what was the last
- 42:46Speaker 1: cell of the game? I said, that was when game
- 42:51Speaker 1: the year, no matter what.
- 42:51Speaker 2: But then I got beat by uh the old bowlers
- 42:55Speaker 2: Gate Yeah, and then yeah, I'm and then I got uh,
- 42:58Speaker 2: I think one more year and the Spider Man bet
- 43:01Speaker 2: because I said, in the next five years, we'll see
- 43:03Speaker 2: Toby and Andrew again live action. So I got again.
- 43:06Speaker 2: A lot of stuff happened straight in and I thought so.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I thought Sony was gonna move a lot quicker after
- 43:10Speaker 2: knowing home because I thought, oh, this is a this
- 43:12Speaker 2: is a layup for them, Like everyone's everyone's happy, Toway's back,
- 43:15Speaker 2: everyone's like like with loving Andrew.
- 43:17Speaker 1: This seems really easy to do, right, and it's not.
- 43:20Speaker 1: But I got to. I got to the Sember twenty
- 43:22Speaker 1: twenty six. There's still time.
- 43:24Speaker 2: I got Doomsday and Noah or Doomsday Inspider Man four.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I got a chance, I got two more.
- 43:29Speaker 11: So here's so here's the question though, because I I
- 43:32Speaker 11: haven't had the chance to listen to the last two
- 43:35Speaker 11: episodes of Marvel Alliance, and I still need to listen
- 43:40Speaker 11: to the last Geek first episode. I'm not entirely sure
- 43:43Speaker 11: if you guys had talked about it or not. Saw
- 43:46Speaker 11: asked here all of the news that we kind of
- 43:49Speaker 11: got about the confirmation on the ground it's story for
- 43:54Speaker 11: uh brand New Day.
- 43:57Speaker 13: Is Marvel allions.
- 43:58Speaker 5: We're not talking about it till next week.
- 44:01Speaker 13: Until next week.
- 44:01Speaker 6: Okay, Well but sorry, Clay, before you'll dive into that again,
- 44:06Speaker 6: I've already said, has passed my bedtime.
- 44:08Speaker 13: I'm like, you're gonna head out.
- 44:10Speaker 6: So I'm thinking I'm gonna go guys tonight too.
- 44:16Speaker 1: So yeah, of course to hear the baby.
- 44:18Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, guys listen to Showers Liliance on Wednesdays.
- 44:23Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 44:26Speaker 13: Bye.
- 44:29Speaker 11: But my question to you guys, now that it is
- 44:33Speaker 11: confirmation to be a grounded story, do you think that
- 44:38Speaker 11: they are willing to wiggle in some sort of multiversal thing?
- 44:43Speaker 11: And and that's and that's what I would I would
- 44:45Speaker 11: I would ask Travis because currently it's scheduled to release
- 44:52Speaker 11: win July July.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Yeah, between Secret Wars and before now remember yeah they
- 45:02Speaker 2: used to be May.
- 45:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 11: So does the bet include post credits?
- 45:09Speaker 1: I think it was just appearance. I don't. I don't
- 45:11Speaker 1: think there was in a movie or anything like that.
- 45:13Speaker 2: So don't try that, don't try to back tell I.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I guess I'll leave it up to the fannel here.
- 45:18Speaker 1: But I think that includes that me and Dylan have
- 45:21Speaker 1: a bet right now. That's also contentious right now with
- 45:23Speaker 1: our AVD stuff. But Dylan's getting a pizza. It doesn't matter.
- 45:26Speaker 2: They're they're doing everything with Alien predat right now, just
- 45:29Speaker 2: like they're putting Arnold back in it, like Alien Predator
- 45:32Speaker 2: is happening.
- 45:33Speaker 5: I watched that.
- 45:33Speaker 8: I was a sequence cool, but it was just like, oh,
- 45:36Speaker 8: that's it all right?
- 45:36Speaker 5: Whatever?
- 45:37Speaker 2: Yeah, And I wonder like, did they not, like did
- 45:40Speaker 2: Arnold not say yes before and then they did it after?
- 45:42Speaker 5: They for what they did?
- 45:45Speaker 2: They didn't, but I just wonder why why now, I
- 45:48Speaker 2: guess but.
- 45:48Speaker 10: Because it was the future, right they that interview he
- 45:51Speaker 10: was talking about the future of this character and.
- 45:53Speaker 9: What not, So that was just a no.
- 45:55Speaker 2: But I mean so they so we're getting DLC for
- 45:58Speaker 2: if people don't know for the context, we're getting DLC
- 46:00Speaker 2: for movies now, which Alien Wrongs was already did because
- 46:03Speaker 2: they fixed up the.
- 46:05Speaker 4: Cats, the first movie to do DLC.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Cats did that, and then there's a couple others ble cut.
- 46:14Speaker 13: Yeah, there's got to be another movie.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Uh well, I would say back to stuff.
- 46:21Speaker 11: I was gonna say lucasfilm with Star Wars would be
- 46:24Speaker 11: one of the first if we're counting that stuff.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Oh George yeah, oh yeah, he's yeah, he was doing
- 46:29Speaker 2: DLC for years.
- 46:30Speaker 4: They went away from cats. Okay, they need.
- 46:34Speaker 16: No But I genuinely do feel like in the last
- 46:36Speaker 16: five years there was a big hubub about a movie
- 46:40Speaker 16: doing that that they were like they changed something, yeah
- 46:44Speaker 16: with the release, but I can't remember what it was though.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's happening more and more. But yeah, what happened
- 46:49Speaker 2: was prederor Killed Killers came out. It's happening with DECKX
- 46:53Speaker 2: right now.
- 46:53Speaker 5: The DLC.
- 46:55Speaker 17: Was the first one, but whatever they they Predick Killers
- 46:59Speaker 17: Killers come out in June and has that post credit
- 47:01Speaker 17: where it just shows and or mid Thunder and then
- 47:03Speaker 17: now they did one with shows Danny Glover and Arnold
- 47:08Speaker 17: and that's where it's and now it's live on Disney Plus.
- 47:10Speaker 2: You can watch the tear when you're like, oh, they're
- 47:12Speaker 2: setting up for the future. I'm asking why didn't they
- 47:13Speaker 2: have that in June?
- 47:14Speaker 7: Though, yeah, I should have because it would be nice.
- 47:17Speaker 1: If they did, it was quiet and the reason why
- 47:20Speaker 1: they didn't you said, Oh, they're just set up the future.
- 47:22Speaker 1: What does that mean? What does that mean?
- 47:25Speaker 10: They just want people to have it in the back
- 47:27Speaker 10: of their mind that these two characters are probably going
- 47:30Speaker 10: to come back in the live action.
- 47:32Speaker 1: But why didn't they do that? June is what I'm saying.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Like that when it first released.
- 47:36Speaker 9: Because they didn't talk to Arnold yet I'm sure or something.
- 47:40Speaker 2: I'm saying the check didn't clear. That's a must have happened,
- 47:43Speaker 2: Like you must probably.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Saw everyone online being like they had that idea and
- 47:46Speaker 4: they're like, oh shit.
- 47:47Speaker 10: But they had they had Glover's stuff because I was
- 47:49Speaker 10: announced that they had cut that, but they didn't mention
- 47:51Speaker 10: anything about Arnold because remember those those remember his his
- 47:56Speaker 10: what was it the sketches or like his his scenes.
- 48:00Speaker 9: Something was revealed for him.
- 48:02Speaker 10: I remember I shared in the discord, just that they
- 48:04Speaker 10: animated his character or whatnot, but they didn't put him
- 48:07Speaker 10: in the movie. They kind of but there's no mention
- 48:08Speaker 10: of Arnold at Also.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I really don't know what they're gonna do.
- 48:11Speaker 2: We talked about as many times Arnold in that post
- 48:13Speaker 2: credit He's looking very young because they abducted him from
- 48:17Speaker 2: the eighties.
- 48:17Speaker 1: But he's not looking like that. So either he's gonna
- 48:19Speaker 1: age up or they're gonna have to de age it,
- 48:21Speaker 1: which we'll see how that goes. But yeah, I'm clay.
- 48:24Speaker 2: If Toby or Andrew appears in one of those post credits,
- 48:27Speaker 2: I'm getting that pizza from this.
- 48:29Speaker 7: They put that in the.
- 48:30Speaker 12: Post credit, though, I guess if they're like teasing it
- 48:32Speaker 12: like fors, I.
- 48:33Speaker 11: Guess, yeah, yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking.
- 48:38Speaker 1: That's my hope.
- 48:38Speaker 2: As they come through a portal, they're like, you know,
- 48:41Speaker 2: Peter one, we need your help, and then boom.
- 48:42Speaker 1: But I think it's Downy.
- 48:44Speaker 2: I think Downy's the easy like, especially with his connection
- 48:47Speaker 2: with Holland, like, and I would love it if you
- 48:50Speaker 2: do that, because I'm all bored this theory. We've talked
- 48:51Speaker 2: about it a couple of times. I can't remember where
- 48:54Speaker 2: I think it came from, like My Time to Shine
- 48:55Speaker 2: or something. The rumor is Downy's like doom is gonna
- 48:59Speaker 2: go to six one and pretend that he's like a
- 49:01Speaker 2: variant iron Man and be like a good guy to
- 49:04Speaker 2: recruit everybody, and then the flip's gonna happen. So imagine
- 49:08Speaker 2: Tom Hollen at the end of the movie he thinks
- 49:10Speaker 2: he's seeing Tony again. That's Hie right there, and you
- 49:12Speaker 2: get that one where they hug, and then you get
- 49:14Speaker 2: the evil face on Dann and.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Be like I got them, Like.
- 49:16Speaker 18: John, I was ligit about to say that, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 49:24Speaker 18: but it could be totally an Andrew.
- 49:26Speaker 4: But it's like they wouldn't actually show them though.
- 49:29Speaker 12: I feel like they would hint at them without like
- 49:31Speaker 12: kind of like Captain Marvel. Right, we just got like
- 49:33Speaker 12: the Beeper, you know. I feel like they might do
- 49:34Speaker 12: something like that where instead of actually showing their faces
- 49:36Speaker 12: and you're not pay them money, right, I don't know
- 49:38Speaker 12: how that works, but.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's expensive.
- 49:40Speaker 2: And even then if it were happen, I still I
- 49:42Speaker 2: guess I could get points, but I would be more
- 49:44Speaker 2: likely that it would be for doomsday because I just
- 49:46Speaker 2: feel like that sets up secret Wars and the multiverse stuff.
- 49:49Speaker 2: But I don't I don't think it's impause that's my
- 49:51Speaker 2: last shot of Spiremn. I think there's always a chance
- 49:54Speaker 2: a portal opens and they they show up, And even
- 49:56Speaker 2: then would it be both of them are just one
- 49:57Speaker 2: of them?
- 49:58Speaker 1: Because I said both, And what's to.
- 49:59Speaker 7: Say that they can't film that while they're filming Doomsday
- 50:03Speaker 7: and then like, hey, let's just throw this at.
- 50:06Speaker 1: The end of Thunderbolts. Right, Thunderbolts, that's a which will
- 50:11Speaker 1: no splays ref. Four because not everyone's seen and whatnot.
- 50:13Speaker 1: But for Thunderbolts, that's a scene supposedly from Doomsday or
- 50:18Speaker 1: going to be when the f fours arrived and the
- 50:20Speaker 1: Thunderbolts are seeing them.
- 50:21Speaker 2: So, and they've done that multiple times, right, like the
- 50:24Speaker 2: well the Russo shot it, that scene, the Thunderbolts scene. Yeah,
- 50:28Speaker 2: but even then, look at the like ant Man, that
- 50:30Speaker 2: post credit scene was just a scene from Civil War.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Right, So maybe I got I got some chances.
- 50:37Speaker 2: I got some No, probably not, though even then I
- 50:39Speaker 2: don't even think they're on set for Doomsday yet. It'll
- 50:41Speaker 2: be like Rebecca Romaine's mystique will be in sprand New Day.
- 50:45Speaker 2: I'll be like, well, this doesn't give me a pizza,
- 50:46Speaker 2: Like it's great to see her in all, but.
- 50:48Speaker 7: If she is pretending to be I.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Wouldn't take the pizza bait. If for some reason she
- 50:54Speaker 1: pretended me them then she turned with steak.
- 50:55Speaker 2: And I don't feel good getting this pizza, Like that's
- 50:58Speaker 2: that's not really them. I they shut up on set,
- 51:01Speaker 2: but yeah, she made quite a hubbub today, and so
- 51:04Speaker 2: it's so funny, like, I don't know why people are
- 51:05Speaker 2: reacting to you.
- 51:06Speaker 1: Because she she's at Comic.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Con and they asked her about how Avengers Doomsday's going.
- 51:10Speaker 2: She's like, well, I don't know how much I have left.
- 51:12Speaker 1: To shoot because the script isn't done. And then and
- 51:17Speaker 1: they're like, well, have you seen the full script? She's
- 51:19Speaker 1: a can they.
- 51:19Speaker 9: Either confirm r But it's never a full script.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Well yeah, even last week said this though, he said like, oh,
- 51:25Speaker 2: we never have a full script going in. So like,
- 51:27Speaker 2: I get why people are freaking out, but it's of
- 51:30Speaker 2: the norm. I do think for the big movie, they
- 51:32Speaker 2: probably should have. I'm hoping most of it's locked down,
- 51:36Speaker 2: but I don't know. We'll see, I said, though, I
- 51:38Speaker 2: guarantee you if this doesn't. If this blows up in
- 51:40Speaker 2: their faces, though, I bet they're gonna change that formula
- 51:43Speaker 2: and maybe stop doing the Lucy goosey Like if these
- 51:45Speaker 2: movies really disappoint people, then I think maybe we should
- 51:48Speaker 2: start with a script at the beginning of the production.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Isn't Robert Downey like mister improv. Doesn't he like this? Yes, yeah,
- 51:53Speaker 4: you're right making a whole movie around him.
- 51:55Speaker 12: I mean you might not get him unless he's like, hey,
- 51:57Speaker 12: if there's a script, I'm not doing this.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I wonder what no one thought about that when he
- 52:04Speaker 2: just sent him off and I'm yeah, don't show me, I.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Know, and he's like, okay, I'll get in my place here.
- 52:08Speaker 6: No.
- 52:08Speaker 11: But like, also we know that legitimately the actors, like
- 52:14Speaker 11: in in gaming in Vinity War literally did not have
- 52:18Speaker 11: a full script because they didn't want leaks to go out,
- 52:21Speaker 11: So like, what if that's legitimately what's happening here is
- 52:24Speaker 11: that they do have a full script, but they're not
- 52:26Speaker 11: sharing it with everybody.
- 52:27Speaker 2: They don't trust Rebecca Romain on the Red Carpet or
- 52:30Speaker 2: comic no, and like she's not like like I think
- 52:34Speaker 2: she could die. We could see one scene of Rebecca
- 52:37Speaker 2: Remain's mystique in it might be old, but she did
- 52:38Speaker 2: say she might have more scenes, so maybe not. Maybe
- 52:40Speaker 2: I'm hoping not. I don't want. I don't want any of.
- 52:43Speaker 1: These characters really get him. Del they hope they get
- 52:45Speaker 1: like a couple scenes and then kill them off.
- 52:47Speaker 2: But I don't want like they show up and Doom
- 52:50Speaker 2: just dispatches the entire Fox X men.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I get it.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Yeah, some people are gonna be like that makes them
- 52:54Speaker 2: look so powerful, but it's just like, I don't know.
- 52:57Speaker 7: But the bad thing with the Stique in general, though,
- 52:59Speaker 7: is she's every character, so like we'll Recca Remain is
- 53:03Speaker 7: in like three scenes, true, but Mystique is in like
- 53:06Speaker 7: the whole movie.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Yeah that's true, which is crazy. They said she said
- 53:09Speaker 2: she's doing seven hours of makeup. I'm like, I don't
- 53:12Speaker 2: know how that's happening because I thought the rumor was
- 53:14Speaker 2: she wasn't doing like the full naked body thing. I
- 53:16Speaker 2: thought the roomor was she had a suit. So it's
- 53:18Speaker 2: just like, how if it's that, why is just the
- 53:20Speaker 2: face and the neckting so long?
- 53:22Speaker 1: And maybe she is.
- 53:22Speaker 11: I wonder if they're doing like weird practical stuff with
- 53:25Speaker 11: the transformations and that's why.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Every day they're putting different makeup like half makeup yeah
- 53:33Speaker 1: maybe yeah, no tech, Yeah yeah that's something. But yeah,
- 53:38Speaker 1: I was gonna ask us, now, you know, I talked
- 53:40Speaker 1: about this on Dynamic Duo a couple of weeks ago,
- 53:42Speaker 1: so I'm gonna go around room with those a good
- 53:43Speaker 1: five year So I'm gonna start you, Kirkling, we start
- 53:45Speaker 1: with Star Wars, where we're Star Wars be in five
- 53:48Speaker 1: years and we're gonna have Star Wars DC and Model
- 53:50Speaker 1: because we've all talked about all these things. So for
- 53:52Speaker 1: you know, five years from now when we do our
- 53:54Speaker 1: next anniversary cast, hopefully we do another crossold before that.
- 53:57Speaker 1: But well, how do you think it's gonna go.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Because we've got Manlorin Grogu right now, we got star Fighter, right,
- 54:02Speaker 2: that's what it's called, I think, right, and then god,
- 54:06Speaker 2: we got the Mangle. But getting in we don't even
- 54:08Speaker 2: know if these movies are happening to do all these movies
- 54:10Speaker 2: that happen, Kirk five years.
- 54:12Speaker 5: I think the Mando movie, for sure.
- 54:14Speaker 3: I think that, Yeah, I'm worried that'll be the only
- 54:17Speaker 3: project we'll be talking about for the next five years.
- 54:19Speaker 3: But I don't think it's gonna be much different than
- 54:23Speaker 3: where it is, honestly, which is kind of kind of sad.
- 54:26Speaker 3: I feel like they're gonna just have the one project
- 54:29Speaker 3: and then probably some random thing's gonna happen that just
- 54:32Speaker 3: slows down the production on the other projects pushes it out.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Maybe it just takes a little bit time, maybe there's
- 54:37Speaker 3: complications with the story and the script. But no, I
- 54:42Speaker 3: don't think there's gonna be like a major shift in
- 54:44Speaker 3: the in the force that is, uh just just Star
- 54:48Speaker 3: Wars right now.
- 54:48Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 54:49Speaker 3: I want them to do some crazy swings and just
- 54:51Speaker 3: really do some interesting to me stories. You know that
- 54:55Speaker 3: I loved and Or, so I would love to just
- 54:58Speaker 3: see more Cloak and day Agree type adventures in the
- 55:01Speaker 3: Star Wars universe.
- 55:04Speaker 9: But I don't know they have.
- 55:05Speaker 3: They haven't given me much to to really think that
- 55:07Speaker 3: we're gonna go super old. But I mean, there was
- 55:09Speaker 3: some some really good juicy stuff in and Or, But
- 55:12Speaker 3: I think I'm worried they're gonna see that as you know,
- 55:14Speaker 3: not really marketable just because it didn't do the best
- 55:18Speaker 3: money wise. But uh yeah, I don't know. I don't
- 55:21Speaker 3: have high hopes.
- 55:22Speaker 2: And I'm gonna ask the the gua guys this because
- 55:24Speaker 2: obviously we were divided. We got a pizza bet, but Kirkland,
- 55:26Speaker 2: do you still feel confident on our side? We bet
- 55:29Speaker 2: that the bet is will Manulear and Grogo make a
- 55:31Speaker 2: billion dollars? Me and Kirkland, are no Taylor and Dinner?
- 55:33Speaker 1: Yes? Do you feel still good on that Kirkland on
- 55:36Speaker 1: the no side?
- 55:37Speaker 9: No you don't, Oh you feel sorry?
- 55:40Speaker 5: No, I don't think it's making a billion dollars.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Okay, I still feel good?
- 55:43Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, okay, so yeah, sorry, you know it's only
- 55:48Speaker 2: podcast for ten years. I still figured it out.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Taylor, Star Wars in five years, and you still feel
- 55:52Speaker 1: good about your pizza. Bet that's making a.
- 55:54Speaker 9: Billion Star Wars in five years.
- 56:01Speaker 1: You know, it's a really answer took too long.
- 56:05Speaker 10: The top question to answer because when I mean when
- 56:08Speaker 10: Disney first about Star Wars, yeah, or of course of
- 56:11Speaker 10: five years, we've got a lot of movies and then
- 56:13Speaker 10: a lot of projects that came after the Factor on
- 56:15Speaker 10: Sney Plus. But now this is just not what I
- 56:19Speaker 10: was expecting. I I feel like you after the break
- 56:23Speaker 10: here that maybe things will pick up, and you know,
- 56:26Speaker 10: they got announcements, but.
- 56:27Speaker 1: I just they always got announcements.
- 56:30Speaker 10: They always have more announcements than I can't confer movie, remember.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Taika, Yeah, I was doing Judge Dread, so.
- 56:38Speaker 9: I can't confident. Remind me say that my years.
- 56:44Speaker 10: Have We're gonna be having like a bunch of projects
- 56:46Speaker 10: because of just the history that they've been running with
- 56:50Speaker 10: this this franchise so far. So I can't really commit
- 56:52Speaker 10: to saying that in five years is going to be great.
- 56:54Speaker 9: Now.
- 56:54Speaker 10: As for this movie making a billion dollars, that's absolutely
- 56:57Speaker 10: gonna happen because I just, like I said, there's a
- 57:00Speaker 10: lot of star there's some Star Wars. You know, people
- 57:04Speaker 10: are are high and dry right now, and I think
- 57:05Speaker 10: Star Wars in the big scream that's gonna be Let's
- 57:07Speaker 10: bring the kids. It's not like a six pm after
- 57:10Speaker 10: school or after work thing. We're watching a twenty minute
- 57:13Speaker 10: to thirty minute episode.
- 57:14Speaker 9: No, we're getting the full two hour experience. Let's go.
- 57:17Speaker 9: It's gonna be a good time.
- 57:18Speaker 10: I think it's gonna have a lot of excitement, and
- 57:21Speaker 10: I mean.
- 57:23Speaker 1: The sun people are gonna be banging down the doors.
- 57:26Speaker 9: So he confused me there for a second.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Do you guys why know.
- 57:31Speaker 6: There?
- 57:31Speaker 10: Okay, there's honestly, there's this weird thing in some of
- 57:36Speaker 10: these Star Wars groups then I'm involved with Whenever like
- 57:42Speaker 10: the character Ezra pops up, everyone's just like, oh, what's.
- 57:46Speaker 9: Java doing here? It's like, Oh, it's j Do you guys,
- 57:48Speaker 9: are you guys familiar with this.
- 57:50Speaker 7: Yeah, that's a rebel thing.
- 57:51Speaker 9: Yeah, it's why why is that a Rebels thing?
- 57:54Speaker 1: Like?
- 57:54Speaker 9: How did this come to?
- 57:55Speaker 7: He just he said he was told or how to go.
- 58:02Speaker 7: He was asked his name in the Rebels episode. He
- 58:04Speaker 7: said he was a job with a hut. O't give
- 58:08Speaker 7: his actual name.
- 58:09Speaker 13: Wait, Taylor, have you never seen Rebels? No?
- 58:11Speaker 9: I have, But that's such a specific thing.
- 58:15Speaker 2: It's like I remember when we at one point when
- 58:18Speaker 2: Endgame came out and they released the DVD or whatever,
- 58:21Speaker 2: the Blue rad and they had the deleted scene. It
- 58:22Speaker 2: was that deleted scene of Endgame when they like were
- 58:24Speaker 2: all they all took a knee and stuff like that.
- 58:27Speaker 2: And then one user said something about like Drags not
- 58:30Speaker 2: being there, and a bunch of people in the Facebook
- 58:32Speaker 2: didn't get it because Drags and the whole like moving
- 58:34Speaker 2: quickly thing. So he just loved our Facebook. He deleted
- 58:37Speaker 2: his comment, but they was just like he's right there,
- 58:39Speaker 2: Like what do you do? Because he was like, oh
- 58:40Speaker 2: shame all the guardians, but Drags showed up for this funeral,
- 58:43Speaker 2: and it was just like a bunch of comments like
- 58:45Speaker 2: he's right there, you idiot this and then he deleted
- 58:47Speaker 2: his comment, and I never saw him on our Facebook ever.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Again.
- 58:50Speaker 7: No, no, I'm not gonna I didn't call him.
- 58:52Speaker 2: A idiot, but I was one person that said, yeah,
- 58:54Speaker 2: he's right there in that scene because it completely went over.
- 58:56Speaker 2: I forgot about the whole, like I moved so still,
- 59:00Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, and then after when I figured,
- 59:01Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm dumb.
- 59:02Speaker 1: I forgot that that's tracks.
- 59:04Speaker 5: This whole shamed a fan.
- 59:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it's happy they left.
- 59:08Speaker 13: Damn.
- 59:10Speaker 4: They're probably doing better now that they left that group.
- 59:12Speaker 1: Probably.
- 59:12Speaker 5: Yeah, so but part of the new rock stars now
- 59:15Speaker 5: who knew?
- 59:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but Dylan, yeah, you're still feeling good about But
- 59:18Speaker 2: we only got one billion dollar in this movie this year,
- 59:20Speaker 2: so like it's it's slowing down.
- 59:22Speaker 4: Sorry say that sentence.
- 59:23Speaker 1: We only got one billion dollar movie this year?
- 59:26Speaker 13: What was it?
- 59:26Speaker 1: Leland Stich Leland Stitch.
- 59:28Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, yeah, no, I.
- 59:30Speaker 12: Still to think about because I mean, I'm a good
- 59:33Speaker 12: example here. I haven't I haven't caught up on Mando.
- 59:35Speaker 12: But you know, I don't care. I'm not gonna watch
- 59:38Speaker 12: all that. I'm just gonna go see the movie. Maybe,
- 59:39Speaker 12: I don't know, we'll see.
- 59:41Speaker 8: Very believe that Dylan is a maybe. I totally believe
- 59:46Speaker 8: that absolutely.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Like with Superman when that first is now changing, yeah,
- 59:50Speaker 2: I'll be there then when it can maybe.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Nah, yeah, I'm good on Superman.
- 59:53Speaker 11: You know, Dylan, It's really funny that you say that,
- 59:56Speaker 11: because like there was so many people that were worried
- 1:00:00Speaker 11: and I think still.
- 1:00:01Speaker 13: Are worried that.
- 1:00:04Speaker 11: Because there's even in TV shows, just like reactionary for
- 1:00:10Speaker 11: writers to do this inside shows is that like they
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: write scenes to catch up people who haven't watched certain
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: seasons or certain episodes and stuff. So there is an
- 1:00:21Speaker 11: actual worry that like the first half of the movie
- 1:00:25Speaker 11: is just going to be a giant summary of the
- 1:00:28Speaker 11: first three seasons.
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: Possible. Yeah, the.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: First hour Mission Possible is just like let me catch
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: you over the last twenty years.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: It's really weird. It's like I gotta understand happen.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Remember, the first hour is just tons of exposition about well,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: we did this, and we did this, and there's this
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: character from this movie, and it's just it takes a
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: while for that thing to get going.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I hope, man, Lauren's fifteen minutes.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Sure if it's half like I hope it's not just
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: a bunch of Oh this is Grogu.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I adopted him, and I'd be completely.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Fine that even just like before the movie, like when
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: they have like someone, hey, thank you for coming to the movie, Like,
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: just do a recap on, just do an editor throw
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: together a two minute recap of like if you you
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: know everything you've missed to.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: Have a little a little crawl at the beginning.
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: I say, you get Louise from the MCU to do that.
- 1:01:16Speaker 11: So so here's here's the the awkward they should do
- 1:01:20Speaker 11: is that. But most of the movies that aren't episodic
- 1:01:26Speaker 11: movies don't have crawls.
- 1:01:28Speaker 7: So you say most you mean I don't think any
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: of the.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Yeah, because that was supposedly a Kathleen Kennedy call that
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: she just wants just the sag whenvies have that, which
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: I I'm saying I disagreed on.
- 1:01:40Speaker 13: Uh yeah, but soon will be.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: The news of her demise has been completely exaggerated. It
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: seems almost every day.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Yeah she's going at some point, but yeah, I don't know,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Like before Disney got it, like I played video games
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: with the crawl, like books said, like their look like
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: I don't know why I get what they're trying to
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: do like only the episod of the crawl, but even
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: the theme too.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: It's like, I don't know, to me Superman proof, like
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: just spam.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: I'm not saying character shouldn't have specific themes, but just
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: spam the Star Wars theme when you get like Starfighter,
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: just use the Star Wars theme.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Just do it whatever you know.
- 1:02:13Speaker 12: But I think I feel like I made that argument
- 1:02:14Speaker 12: in like one of the Star Wars episodic reviews, like
- 1:02:17Speaker 12: I did we really need this crawl? I feel like
- 1:02:19Speaker 12: they should just do it when it actually like serves
- 1:02:21Speaker 12: the story, rather than like some random arbitrary rule that like, oh,
- 1:02:24Speaker 12: only the episodes can have a crawl and these other
- 1:02:26Speaker 12: ones don't specifically like oh yeah, where there's a three.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: Seasons of a three season, it's like the perfect.
- 1:02:32Speaker 12: Time to implement that when it's already kind of thing
- 1:02:35Speaker 12: people expect when they go to a Star Wars.
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: Movie that what you could do is do what they
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: did with Clone Wars and just have like the little
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: announcement of the very beginning. I just have that kind of.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: On Scoo Wars. I don't want that. I hate that thing.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: I don't know, but I honestly they should do something though,
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: to let you know, unless this movie is really just
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: which I think could be just very loosey goosey, like
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: not like not much of.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: A story, like just an adventure type.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: I feeling, you know, they wouldn't put a crawl in
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: the trailer. But if that's something that they announced like
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: a few days before, like people think, oh, ship, there's
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: a crawl, and they.
- 1:03:11Speaker 13: Get people would make it a big deal.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: If people made a big deal and Superman didn't even
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: have a crawl, but everyone like, oh, they're copping Star Wars.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: James Gunn says they're gonna have a crawl and it was.
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: Just like Wars screen because Star Wars has a whole
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: license said up, sorry, can't we take a deal crawl?
- 1:03:28Speaker 12: Yeah, we only do a crawl if you make a movie. Yeah,
- 1:03:31Speaker 12: I think I think, uh, to go back to your
- 1:03:34Speaker 12: original question. There trius billion dollar movie for sure, and
- 1:03:37Speaker 12: then Disney will get in gear. Okay, okay, this this
- 1:03:39Speaker 12: is where we're making money. Fuck these Disney plus things.
- 1:03:42Speaker 12: Let's let's get the green light going here and let's
- 1:03:44Speaker 12: get some more movies. So we'll probably get Starfighter in
- 1:03:46Speaker 12: like another year or two, and then I don't even
- 1:03:49Speaker 12: know what else is announced right now, but I think
- 1:03:50Speaker 12: we'll start to see I don't think we'll get another
- 1:03:52Speaker 12: episode like the next episode within the next five years,
- 1:03:55Speaker 12: but I think we'll probably be pretty close, like maybe
- 1:03:57Speaker 12: six or seven years out. But I think we'll probably
- 1:04:00Speaker 12: get like another after Mando, another movie, at least another
- 1:04:04Speaker 12: one or two TV shows. I will probably slow down
- 1:04:07Speaker 12: and then, Yeah, I don't know what's going on in
- 1:04:08Speaker 12: the other realms of books and comics and all that,
- 1:04:10Speaker 12: and I'm bummed about this is not.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: Really exactly what you asked for. But I saw that
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: just this week Star Wars Outlaws.
- 1:04:16Speaker 12: I don't know if it was canceled or just not
- 1:04:18Speaker 12: green lip, but they're not making a sequel to that game,
- 1:04:20Speaker 12: which makes sense.
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: Like like tid tepid release doesn't necessarily.
- 1:04:27Speaker 12: But I'm super bud about because that game was really
- 1:04:29Speaker 12: great and I would have loved to see what they did.
- 1:04:31Speaker 12: A sequel is my favorite Star.
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: Wars thing in the last few years, and that's well.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: I hope it makes sense because it didn't sell.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: So I hope we get that Quantum Dreams game. I
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: really do. I I think that could make tons of fun. Yeah,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: clips and in.
- 1:04:43Speaker 12: The next five years, I will say it comes out
- 1:04:45Speaker 12: in the next five years, it is Cork.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: The next Fight year is dying.
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: No, that's dead.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: That was when the Happy as Days of my like
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: random Stars life, when they announced that game, and the
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: fact that it's just you know, but like we said,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: if the day it announced this is dead, me and
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Dylan will start to do a retro for the old game.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: We said that if it died, because I have it.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I literally twice have loaded up Kotar and almost started playing,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: like no, I'm gonna wait because just in case.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: But I've been dying to get that, And it's just I.
- 1:05:21Speaker 12: Just feel like with where we're out with games and
- 1:05:23Speaker 12: how many studios are closing and layofs, I feel like
- 1:05:26Speaker 12: Aspire is still the current developer of that, right.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: I feel like that, just.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Like like what, yeah, we lost the Wonder Room game
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: this year, we lost Black Panther. Even though he still says, hey,
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: we're for sure making that iron Man game. Yeah, I'm
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: sure you're for sure making that iron Man.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Yeah. I love like you're putting.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: That in a statement where you canceled the other game,
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: like but don't worry, iron Man's safe.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: It's like, no, you know what is I'll tell you
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: what it is safe.
- 1:05:50Speaker 8: That Blade game is safe, that that that game is
- 1:05:52Speaker 8: still coming out.
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: I don't know if it is Juju on.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: A well Wolverine, I think it is safe.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: But with the Blade thing with Xbox like taking studios
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: out and stuff like, I actually don't know if that
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: Blade game's safe anymore. I could see his iss getting
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: announced it one day that oh it's not happening. So Chris,
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: your your prediction of the game come first could end
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: up being wrong.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: If it gets cancer.
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: They good, you know it's here, be right, just because.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Maybe they'll maybe they'll partner up and just be like, hey,
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: let's announce the game and the movie are canceled, like
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: on the same day. Let's just get let's get out,
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: like we're not doing Blade, We're not doing a show,
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: we're not doing a game Blade.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: And they even make some animation where Blade like slashes them.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: It's like, okay, yeah, probably, yeah, no, I hope that happens.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: But yeah, I forgot that you brought the episodes. I
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: forgot that they announced that whole Simon K. Kimberg trilogy.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: But it was weird because half the trades reported it
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: was episode ten eleven, twelve, and then half the trade said, no,
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: it's not, and we just don't know. Kathy's never even
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: when they asked her, she's like, oh, yeah, he's working
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: on something and it's okay, Well that doesn't help me out,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: like she and I know why she's not gonna say
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: anying because of in case they cancel it. We don't
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: want to know that episode ten was being made and
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: they're like, oh, this was, We're not going to do it,
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: but yeah, there could be and yeah, I don't know
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: if it's it's I think you're right now, it's probably
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: not in the next five years, but or like we
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: could get the production of like trailers are casting, but
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: I because what was that?
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: That's twenty thirty.
- 1:07:11Speaker 12: I feel like they'll get their shit sorted out in
- 1:07:12Speaker 12: the next five years for sure. All the director writer
- 1:07:15Speaker 12: Lotti dah of that stuff.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Chris, what about you? We're Star Wars the
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: next five years? And is Amanda movie making a billion.
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: Somehow? Luke Skywalker returned.
- 1:07:26Speaker 19: Oh, recast I will if if Mando doesn't do well,
- 1:07:34Speaker 19: you know, and this the felony throng, you know, big
- 1:07:40Speaker 19: movie those are their two chances to try to see
- 1:07:44Speaker 19: what they did create.
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: New and you know, Ryan Gostin, those three things don't
- 1:07:48Speaker 8: work out, We're we're finding a way to bring back
- 1:07:50Speaker 8: the original people, you know, in some ways shape or form,
- 1:07:54Speaker 8: not like getting Mark Hamill to replay the role, but
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: recasting bringing them back. Because we've talked about this the
- 1:08:00Speaker 8: vodka stream the last night, saying, you know, we can't
- 1:08:02Speaker 8: seem to get like people say, give me something new,
- 1:08:04Speaker 8: I'm tired of the old stuff.
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: Well then they don't even show up for the new stuff.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, would you Chris and I, this will
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: take us on a different journey, But would you be
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: completely opposed of Lucasfilm announced that they're rebooting Stars and
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: just starting over, because I wouldn't. I have my original
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: trilogy and the like, it's all there, like, and sometimes
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: I think it might be safer for Lucasfilm to be like,
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: let's just let's just go a new It can also
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: super Backfire and people are just done with.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: Super Backfire Star Wars.
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: But the thing is, like you say, remixed Star Wars,
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: like it goes back to the same thing. It's such
- 1:08:37Speaker 8: a vast galaxy, a different thing, because it's what are
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: you rebooting outside of, like you said, if they're just
- 1:08:41Speaker 8: going back and rehashing the original trilogy this scene, like.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: You said, bring back those characters. That's how they would
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: do it, right as let's.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: Characters and go on journeys with them.
- 1:08:50Speaker 8: That's more of my that's more of my thing, you know,
- 1:08:52Speaker 8: instead of just redoing it at that point. But you know, honestly,
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: like I said, I think they're gonna have three strikes
- 1:08:59Speaker 8: and they're out with these movies if they're lucky to
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: get the three, but they definitely have two strikes.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: Ahead of them, you know before.
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: I think if those don't go well, then they're trying
- 1:09:07Speaker 8: to dig back the lou Khan Lea, you know, recasting those.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: This is a scary time. Taylor's shaking your head. You
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: don't like that.
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: I just I'm not saying I like it.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: I'm just saying that's what's probably gonna happen if it
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: doesn't work.
- 1:09:21Speaker 9: The idea that they are.
- 1:09:24Speaker 10: Resorting to, let's say ypathetically, resorting to a full reset
- 1:09:28Speaker 10: and going back and just trying to bring those characters back,
- 1:09:33Speaker 10: different actors, whatever you want to call it. I just
- 1:09:34Speaker 10: think it's silly you were dealing with. They just put
- 1:09:36Speaker 10: out that map the entire Star Wars like universe, showing
- 1:09:41Speaker 10: well everything, and still half that map was pretty much
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: just empty. How can you run out of stories to tell?
- 1:09:48Speaker 10: I mean, you're saving all your stories for what the shows?
- 1:09:51Speaker 10: The twenty minute segments.
- 1:09:54Speaker 8: That it was so funny, like with with what you said,
- 1:09:56Speaker 8: like that last not this last Star Wars celebration, but
- 1:10:01Speaker 8: the one before that where they panned out like the
- 1:10:03Speaker 8: Race story, all those different things like the tales of
- 1:10:06Speaker 8: the Jet, the Jet, birth of the Jedi and everything
- 1:10:08Speaker 8: like that, like all that starting to be called into
- 1:10:11Speaker 8: question now because the Ray things now backlogged.
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: Oh yeah, you know.
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: It was like I was like excited. It's like, you
- 1:10:17Speaker 8: know what, you know, why are we even putting this
- 1:10:19Speaker 8: out there? Are we not learning our lessons not to
- 1:10:21Speaker 8: announce stuff when you can't even get one movie off
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: the ground?
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: H Yeah? And Mando, is that making a billion? Chris no,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Joe Star Wars five years? Mando billions?
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm Star Wars five years. I don't know. Plane
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: off of Chris' is like, I definitely I gotta agree
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: that if they they messed this up like I've I've
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: definitely been vocal that I hated season three of Mando.
- 1:10:50Speaker 7: I've been alone after they they after book a Boa
- 1:10:56Speaker 7: Fat was ruined and they basically look, all I'm saying
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: is that they should just call it Mando season two
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: point five. But like, like whatever, Like I hated Mando
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: season three, and since then I just Star Wars TV.
- 1:11:19Speaker 7: I've I've liked some things, but the rest of the
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: general public didn't like. I loved Acolyte, I love them
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: doing different things. But then when you, like Chris said,
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: when you have something new, people don't like it. So, yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: they're coming back to the original group because they're coming
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: back to the original sagas because that's the time period
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: people want, because they won't go to the the future.
- 1:11:47Speaker 9: They won't go to the past.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: No, no, no again. I wanted I did not like act
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: like because oh it's not the Dark Times.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: I just did not enjoy the project. But that that's
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: the tough thing that I get throw. We get thrown
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: in the can of people that yeah, we don't want
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: that stuff.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: It's like I do.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: I just want it a little more polished. But yeah,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: I don't want more dark Times.
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: That's fair and I agreed that that first season was rough,
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: but I was looking forward where it ended. It had promise.
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: Now we've got nothing. Yeah, me too.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Plagas, you know, there's still here about because he knows
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: he's never gonna see Plagas another never.
- 1:12:25Speaker 10: Put him on screen, as as Diney. That Disney's like, oh,
- 1:12:29Speaker 10: we're canceling the show because they did like Plague.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: That's why the show exactly.
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: That the creepy the creepy alien behind the rock is
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: what torpedo at that shoke green.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Light that Darth mall animated show.
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: You know again, more stuff that they they more the
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: old stuff.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: I like Darth Maul, but we don't need another animes
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: like how we've make that live action though and that.
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: Yeah, so Star Wars Zone like it is a product
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: that I have also said. I've heard somebody I'll say
- 1:13:00Speaker 7: it that you can come in and you can go.
- 1:13:03Speaker 7: It's it's a product that people love. You can dip
- 1:13:07Speaker 7: out of it and you'd come back constantly. There's always
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: something for somebody. I know. My girlfriend just watched Skeleton Crew.
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: It wasn't for her. She tried it when it came out.
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: She did not like that first episode she waited, she
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: actually just watched the whole season.
- 1:13:26Speaker 13: I'm going to message him.
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: Was not for her. Yeah, you go ahead, and I'm
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: sure she would like shut up Clay so, but she
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: just she didn't like it. It's just and that's your choice,
- 1:13:37Speaker 7: and that's fine. But she also like she didn't grow
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: up watching Goony. She didn't grow up watching all that stuff,
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: you know, A so like Vegan neither I but I
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: still enjoyed the show for what it was. That's the
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: whole different matter.
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: Whim though, wim just remember whim. Travis Kirkl, Yeah he
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: was grand.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: I'm not you guys' review trash takes.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: You know my opinion. You know, I haven't talked about
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: the geekers here. They're like dropping six seven out of ten.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: That's Skeleton Crew to me is like what Star Wars
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: should be, going for the perfect blend of practical new
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: stuff using old stuff. Not like, hey, I'm related to
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: like Luke Skywalker. I'm a second cousin removed and I
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: met him once on Tallowe Like none of that stupid
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: saying like stupid happy Gilmore. There's fucking like fun dude,
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: I'm this guy's son I'm this guy's son, I'm this
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: guy's dye. Man, what really character is a son or
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: daughter of somebody. It's like, are you fucking kidding me?
- 1:14:35Speaker 7: Happy Gilmore two? I was it was an okay movie.
- 1:14:40Speaker 7: I if you you take out all of the flashbacks
- 1:14:45Speaker 7: and that two hour movie becomes like an hour fifteen minutes,
- 1:14:48Speaker 7: and then you take out all of the hey remember this,
- 1:14:52Speaker 7: that hour fifteen minutes becomes like an I don't know,
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: forty five minutes. It was a whatever movie.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: When I think about that, take Joe interesting, No, it.
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: Was good, you said on me today.
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: I just say it was good. I just said it was.
- 1:15:11Speaker 7: It was whatever.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: The first forty five nets to me, I was like,
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: oh they did it. They didn't make like a terrible
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: ten year sequel. I thought, was like fine. And then
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: that hour fifteen after man, it just felt like the
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: plane had lost to win and we were going down
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: real fast.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: Literally, it was just like, oh, hey, remember when they
- 1:15:27Speaker 7: did this in the first movie. Well you don't have
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: to because he's doing it again.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: They did every single literally to the last frame in
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: the movie.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: Is that exact last frame or It's just like, I
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: don't know why they're obsessed with like students are obsessed
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: with that one. I'm find of a couple jokes that
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: are like the first movie, but to do so many
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: and like I said, why they're obsessed with make every
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: new character of importance they're related to an old character.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: It's like why, like it just makes.
- 1:15:51Speaker 7: It's Also it's also one of those things where it's
- 1:15:54Speaker 7: absolutely the movie I knew I was getting when I
- 1:15:56Speaker 7: was going while I was going into it. So that's
- 1:15:58Speaker 7: why I said it was fine. It's not great. It's
- 1:16:02Speaker 7: not like happy to get more billion mass in top tier.
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: It's fine. Anyway, back to Star Wars, Star Wars five
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: years whatever, I'm still gonna watch it regardless whatever.
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: I don't like they got my money.
- 1:16:18Speaker 7: Basically, will Mando will just make a billion dollars? God,
- 1:16:22Speaker 7: I hope not. It probably will, but I hope not.
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: I will.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: Take Clay or the tiebreaker here because there's on side,
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: so for Mando, and then what do you think about
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Star Wars? You know, stars aligned, So it gets to
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: me talking about five years, So.
- 1:16:38Speaker 13: I'll do the Mando first. So Mando making a billion dollars.
- 1:16:43Speaker 11: I don't know how I feel about the idea of
- 1:16:47Speaker 11: Mendo making a billion dollars according to a Reddit thread,
- 1:16:53Speaker 11: as projections are already going to be anywhere near nine
- 1:16:57Speaker 11: hundred and eighty five million to one point zero three five.
- 1:17:04Speaker 8: By the way, tickets just went live for Mando and
- 1:17:07Speaker 8: Groger right now.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: That's not like theest.
- 1:17:11Speaker 11: So I kind of was like, Okay, well, how can
- 1:17:15Speaker 11: we look at this in some sort of perspective.
- 1:17:18Speaker 13: In October of last year.
- 1:17:22Speaker 11: Lucasfilm made twelve billion.
- 1:17:25Speaker 13: Dollars overall for Disney.
- 1:17:28Speaker 11: And that is overall merchandise lightsabers at Disney World Disneyland,
- 1:17:34Speaker 11: And so I was trying to look for numbers for
- 1:17:37Speaker 11: Grogut because I think that's gonna be your hot ticket
- 1:17:41Speaker 11: seller when it comes to Mandalorian.
- 1:17:43Speaker 13: Of course, Pedro is everywhere.
- 1:17:46Speaker 11: People are gonna love him, but there's so many jokes
- 1:17:48Speaker 11: about people being tired of him being in everything that
- 1:17:51Speaker 11: there might be some Pedro fatigue, which I don't think
- 1:17:54Speaker 11: is a real thing, because I genuinely think he's just
- 1:17:57Speaker 11: a great time on screen. So Grogu, the character, upon
- 1:18:05Speaker 11: release of the first season of Mandalorian, nearly made.
- 1:18:12Speaker 13: Lucasfilm two point seven million dollars.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: A million yeah, in merchant that's it.
- 1:18:18Speaker 13: Yeah, which I think is a little weird.
- 1:18:21Speaker 9: Well, the merch came late for Grogu as well, right, it.
- 1:18:24Speaker 11: Came late, and they even say that they could have
- 1:18:27Speaker 11: made a little bit more, but dropped the ball on
- 1:18:30Speaker 11: twenty nineteen Christmas season. They just because they were so
- 1:18:35Speaker 11: secretive about the name and all of these other things,
- 1:18:37Speaker 11: and so they wanted to keep that a mystery, which
- 1:18:42Speaker 11: I do think kind of shot themselves in the foot
- 1:18:44Speaker 11: when it came to merchandising.
- 1:18:47Speaker 13: But like, I.
- 1:18:49Speaker 11: Think that there is a possibility of a billion, but
- 1:18:53Speaker 11: I'm not gonna put my money on it.
- 1:18:55Speaker 13: I'm gonna say no that it's not gonna make a billion.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: Okay, we'll see, all right.
- 1:18:59Speaker 11: Now with the whole five years, I have a little
- 1:19:06Speaker 11: bit more hope in Star Wars in the next five years.
- 1:19:11Speaker 13: Mainly do to and Or.
- 1:19:14Speaker 11: And the reason why is I've talked to Katie about
- 1:19:17Speaker 11: this on our show. The fact that like with and
- 1:19:22Speaker 11: Or being so politically driven to kind of give its
- 1:19:26Speaker 11: own genre to Star Wars, that hopefully lucasfilm gets a
- 1:19:32Speaker 11: little bit more open to.
- 1:19:34Speaker 13: Having more genres within Star Wars.
- 1:19:39Speaker 11: And we've talked about how I would really love, like
- 1:19:43Speaker 11: a Clone Trooper, freaking found.
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: Footage Harvest, give me Red Harvest.
- 1:19:52Speaker 11: Well that's the thing, like we've we've heard the rumors
- 1:19:54Speaker 11: about Red Harvest coming out or at least being in production.
- 1:19:59Speaker 13: Like if you give me a found.
- 1:20:00Speaker 11: Footage freaking Stormtrooper or a Clone Trooper movie, that would
- 1:20:06Speaker 11: be absolutely amazing, not only because it drops it's two
- 1:20:11Speaker 11: different genres there it's found footage and then it's horror.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:14Speaker 11: So I think things like that open the minds that
- 1:20:20Speaker 11: Lucasfilm a little bit more to let them do more,
- 1:20:25Speaker 11: Let more filmmakers do.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: More, hope, hope.
- 1:20:28Speaker 11: And then also due to and or your guy's conversation
- 1:20:33Speaker 11: about rebooting and all of this other stuff, Mark Hamill
- 1:20:37Speaker 11: has said he will not go back to do Luke
- 1:20:41Speaker 11: Skywalker stuff, Like he doesn't want to go back and
- 1:20:44Speaker 11: do Luke Skywalker stuff. So if they were to do
- 1:20:46Speaker 11: anything with any type of reboot, he would say no and.
- 1:20:51Speaker 13: Hopefully that they would recast.
- 1:20:53Speaker 11: But the thing that says, hey, Lucasfilm is still warming
- 1:20:57Speaker 11: up to the idea of recasting is the fact that
- 1:21:00Speaker 11: freaking Benjamin Bratt was bail Aana bail Oreana and I
- 1:21:08Speaker 11: understand that.
- 1:21:09Speaker 9: It's more so like oh.
- 1:21:11Speaker 11: Uh uh uh, what's uh Jimmy, Jimmy was doing doing
- 1:21:17Speaker 11: something else, and so like schedules just conflicted.
- 1:21:20Speaker 13: But like.
- 1:21:22Speaker 11: It's it hasn't stopped Lucas from from using you know,
- 1:21:27Speaker 11: deep fakes and stuff like that, So why not just
- 1:21:30Speaker 11: do that, you know, why not make Gilroy and and
- 1:21:35Speaker 11: in the end or team do something like that. But
- 1:21:39Speaker 11: instead they're like, Okay, just recast and it be fine.
- 1:21:43Speaker 11: So I'm hoping this also opens the door that if
- 1:21:48Speaker 11: they were ultimately you know, gun against their head, hey
- 1:21:52Speaker 11: we have to do a reboot or something of the
- 1:21:55Speaker 11: sort that they would not be you know, legated to
- 1:22:01Speaker 11: use Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher or Harrison Ford likeness.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Yeah, don't God. So that's I just hate.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: It's like, I hate that there's any conversation about reboot
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: or recasting with those original three and it's just like
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: just carry on with Ray and move.
- 1:22:18Speaker 11: Forward, you know, or you know, I understand there's a
- 1:22:24Speaker 11: lot of people that have you know, controversial takes on
- 1:22:28Speaker 11: Alclite and everything else, but Taylor, Travis, you guys have
- 1:22:34Speaker 11: read some books in the High Republic. There's a lot
- 1:22:37Speaker 11: more there that they definitely take and do something else with,
- 1:22:42Speaker 11: Like genuinely, I we just finished, Uh.
- 1:22:46Speaker 13: Where is my phone?
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: I hear my alarm?
- 1:22:51Speaker 13: Where my phone is? I apologize for that.
- 1:22:55Speaker 7: So you were in the heat of the moment.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I just don't know where it is. Crank Colin right
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: there is.
- 1:23:06Speaker 11: So the thing is like, with what Trials of the Jedi,
- 1:23:12Speaker 11: no spoils because I know Travis, you're still wanting to
- 1:23:15Speaker 11: read it.
- 1:23:16Speaker 13: I know Travis is going behind too.
- 1:23:18Speaker 11: But Chapter forty of Trials of the Jedi literally fundamentally
- 1:23:25Speaker 11: changed the way I think of the rest of the
- 1:23:27Speaker 11: timeline because there is something so cool that happens that
- 1:23:33Speaker 11: it kind of opens the door to tell some other
- 1:23:37Speaker 11: stories that legitimately tie to the Star Wars that we
- 1:23:42Speaker 11: all know and love. So it's like there's so much
- 1:23:46Speaker 11: there that can be brand new to so many other
- 1:23:52Speaker 11: viewers if they decided to do a TV show or
- 1:23:54Speaker 11: a movie and whatnot and still hark back to the
- 1:23:58Speaker 11: things that.
- 1:23:59Speaker 13: They all know. I would love with the original trilogy.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll have to see I would.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: I hope some of that stuff can seep through, but uh,
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: we all do is now because Chris, I know you've
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: got a bounce, do some family stuff.
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: So what we'll do is everyone can will go to
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: Chris first, and.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: We'll put the Marvel and DC five your thoughts just
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: together because we're already running along.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: Here and well whatnot.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: So Chris, yeah, give us your elevator pitch of what
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: do you think we'll have it into DC Marvel.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Next five years.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: Then we'll go all around do that, and then we'll
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: get out of here because I know it's also late
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: for you guys in the Eastern time too, So.
- 1:24:32Speaker 8: Yeah, Marvel, you know, we know we're getting mutant saga. Finally,
- 1:24:36Speaker 8: I think we're they are starting to do that course
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: correction of you know, putting up more quality than quantity.
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: I do like the idea of, you know, one show.
- 1:24:47Speaker 8: I'm kind of surprised at saying we only have one
- 1:24:50Speaker 8: show one show year.
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: I said, I'll believe it when I see it. I could, Oh,
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: you don't.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Believe in that, eh, But I believe on live action.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: Though I originally think one live action show, I think
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: just because of money wise, I don't think they're looking
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: too much at Disney Plus.
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: But yeah, I could see them just doing two Disney
- 1:25:06Speaker 8: Plus shows like you said one live action one.
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: If they're going to dabble in animation, they'll do that.
- 1:25:10Speaker 8: But you know, I I would rather I understand where
- 1:25:17Speaker 8: Figi's coming from, where he says like it's a creative process.
- 1:25:20Speaker 8: We you know, we can keep on doing scripts and
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: the fly, But I just I don't think that's a
- 1:25:24Speaker 8: sustainable model. I think he can do it, but it's
- 1:25:27Speaker 8: not creativity create in creating words.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: Hey, they've been doing it since two thousand and eighth
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: though right, iron Man didn't have a finished script when
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: they started that.
- 1:25:36Speaker 8: So yeah, it'll you know, as they're trying to shore
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: shore up the stuff. You know, MCU will continue to thrive.
- 1:25:44Speaker 8: It will, it'll lean into the Mutants. I think they
- 1:25:46Speaker 8: will correct the ideas of not having an Avengers level
- 1:25:50Speaker 8: movie within the phase. I think that was that's been
- 1:25:54Speaker 8: the biggest mistake of this these three phases right now,
- 1:25:57Speaker 8: is not having that. But they'll continue to write DC.
- 1:26:03Speaker 8: There's not a lot to go on necessarily, but I
- 1:26:06Speaker 8: think where they will, I could see them within five years.
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: We're gonna get a Justice League movie within five years.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: So you think DC is still at least going strong.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: They can do that.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think they will. They the aim,
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: the aim.
- 1:26:22Speaker 8: You know the writings in the wall, that they're gonna
- 1:26:24Speaker 8: have to do some sort of team up movie at
- 1:26:27Speaker 8: that point to kind of pay off. Because I've said before, like, Okay,
- 1:26:31Speaker 8: James is gonna cold say okay, not everything has to
- 1:26:33Speaker 8: be connected, and they kind of refer to each other
- 1:26:35Speaker 8: in exist in the same universe. But I think at
- 1:26:37Speaker 8: some point the audience is gonna want some kind of
- 1:26:42Speaker 8: you know, team up of some sort because that's where
- 1:26:45Speaker 8: they that's where the money is, you.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: Know exactly, Yeah, and that and then that makes people
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: like other characters they maybe didn't see those movies, right, like, oh,
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: if I skipped the Lanterns show the super Girl movie,
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: then you bring them there because they guarantee that's what
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: happened with Avengers, right, Thor and Captain do as well
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: as Iron Man.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: But then after they're more successful because people are like, Okay,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: I might like X, Y and Z, so okay.
- 1:27:06Speaker 8: But but yeah, as always, as I said last time,
- 1:27:09Speaker 8: Marvel Alliance, thank you as always for uh having me
- 1:27:13Speaker 8: joined this network.
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: And I mean this no qualms about it.
- 1:27:17Speaker 8: It has truly changed my life for the better, not
- 1:27:21Speaker 8: just for the friends that I've made with everyone here,
- 1:27:23Speaker 8: but the opportunities it's provided, and I just want to
- 1:27:26Speaker 8: thank you for taking a chance on a beginning podcaster
- 1:27:29Speaker 8: to come to this moment. So oh yeah, congratulations to
- 1:27:32Speaker 8: you guys for ten years, and Joe and Clay and
- 1:27:35Speaker 8: Katie and all the ones that have been part of
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: this journey with gu way, it's it's been a pleasure
- 1:27:40Speaker 8: and many years ahead.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for letting be the third best Marvel Alliance
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: host at one point, you know, so.
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: No holding on to dear life these days.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. All right, sir, I'll talk to you later later, Chris,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: all right, Kirkland, five years Marvel DC, what's happening twenty
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: thirty Marvel Dead?
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: He my gosh, I'd love to be like just wild
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: and say there's gonna be like some Marvel DC crossover
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: within the next five years, but I think we're I'm
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: not gonna say it's never gonna happen twenty years. It's
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: gon think five years is way too u soon for that.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: Yeah, unless I think there's gonna be all the movies
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: like Crater, like they're all doing poor and that's their
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: last attempt to make all, we gotta save our job.
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: That's what I think will happen eventually, when Marvel DC
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: movies are making very.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: Little money, if Figgy and Gunn are still there, they'll
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: be like, Okay, let's let's figure this.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: He's still gonna be there in twenty years.
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: There's chance. I don't think he wants to be in
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: the twenty years, but what else is he gonna be?
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: But he wants like the job.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: On the beach dollars living out his days.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: The rumor is he wants the job under Igor. He
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: doesn't want the AIGR job. He wants the job under Ager.
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: That's the room that goes around.
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean, ill, that was weird. Just an
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: alert went off.
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: You can like the Clay.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: Thing going off.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Uh, Kirt just arrested live.
- 1:29:12Speaker 7: Think uh.
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: For DC side, I think that they're gonna have one
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: like one stinker release, like one of their.
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: Movies just like yeah, just totally.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: People are are hating on them and saying, oh, I
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: think one.
- 1:29:28Speaker 9: Like super Clear, like oh, it should.
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: Have been good, but it was just such a stinker,
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: like man Quantumnian level where there's just not a lot
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: of people are are raving about it.
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: I don't have a lot of reasons why.
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: That's why that is.
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: I just feel like it's gonna be top to come
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: up the gate, just like, yeah, everything just being bangers.
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: You know, Superman came up pretty successful. But yeah, I
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: think they'll be at least one of those. And then
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: on the m c U side of things, I think,
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: I mean it's not really uh it's pretty safe, bet,
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: but I feel like we're gonna be getting you know,
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: some O G characters back that we're once dead. Uh,
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: definitely not Scargo, but of the likes of you know,
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: some some some familiar faces.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and Marvel bring people back. No, can't be Taylor
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: five years, marl DC.
- 1:30:24Speaker 10: AH DC is just gonna always be kicking. They're always
- 1:30:28Speaker 10: like if something doesn't pan out here, they'll reboot there.
- 1:30:31Speaker 10: They're not fraid anymore. They're just they're they're at the
- 1:30:33Speaker 10: fuck it phase. I'd say there's.
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: Marvell.
- 1:30:44Speaker 10: It's just with how poorly they handled things with their
- 1:30:48Speaker 10: all their their recent projects, spreading themselves a little bit
- 1:30:52Speaker 10: too thin over the all these narratives.
- 1:30:56Speaker 9: It's a shame that they kind of what is the
- 1:31:00Speaker 9: word I'm trying to think of, greed. No, diluted themselves
- 1:31:06Speaker 9: a little bit.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
- 1:31:08Speaker 10: It's unfortunate because again Fantastic four Thunderbolts, It's set up
- 1:31:12Speaker 10: that a lot more excitement for me, and then Fantastic
- 1:31:15Speaker 10: Force set up even more e citement for me, because
- 1:31:17Speaker 10: again we're just dipping our toes back into that original
- 1:31:19Speaker 10: kind of Marvel aesthetic that I personally really really like
- 1:31:22Speaker 10: in those older films that they did, and a heavy
- 1:31:25Speaker 10: component of that is two separate stories, separate characters, everything
- 1:31:30Speaker 10: very very separate, but at its core, there is this
- 1:31:33Speaker 10: narrative that's moving forward where it connects them and it
- 1:31:37Speaker 10: could be the smallest little thing, but things are just
- 1:31:39Speaker 10: moving forwards and you know, it's building towards something, and
- 1:31:41Speaker 10: that build up is what I've really been lacking when
- 1:31:43Speaker 10: it comes to Marvel lately. So to get that again
- 1:31:46Speaker 10: is really exciting. Know what they do with it, I
- 1:31:48Speaker 10: don't know. They're definitely picking up a little bit of
- 1:31:51Speaker 10: steam here, so we'll have to see how.
- 1:31:53Speaker 9: That plays out. But in the next five.
- 1:31:55Speaker 10: Years, I don't think it's ever gonna just be done
- 1:32:00Speaker 10: over with. I think that no matter what they're going
- 1:32:02Speaker 10: to still they're not gonna call it quits. Anytime soon.
- 1:32:06Speaker 9: I mean, how many projects are they in now.
- 1:32:08Speaker 10: And they've got so many characters, Yeah, fifty seven projects.
- 1:32:12Speaker 10: They're not gonna just end it and be like, yeah,
- 1:32:14Speaker 10: we're done next day. That's something that requires a wind
- 1:32:17Speaker 10: down process for sure.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: So anything in five years that wind down hasn't happened.
- 1:32:22Speaker 9: Then yeah, it'll be interesting to see. But yeah, that's
- 1:32:26Speaker 9: that's my take.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Dylan Nice.
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll start with d C. I think, you know,
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: Superman's been.
- 1:32:33Speaker 12: Doing well so far as that's obviously great for them,
- 1:32:35Speaker 12: there was there's a lot of weight on those on
- 1:32:37Speaker 12: those shoulders there. I think that, you know, DC is
- 1:32:40Speaker 12: always always risky, who know where their money is coming from.
- 1:32:43Speaker 12: It seems like sometimes it's just looking rough over there.
- 1:32:45Speaker 12: But I do think that the James Gun era will
- 1:32:48Speaker 12: get at least another five years at this point. That's
- 1:32:51Speaker 12: based a lot off just Superman at this point. But yeah,
- 1:32:53Speaker 12: hopefully they can continue that success and just like nail
- 1:32:57Speaker 12: things down. And yeah, I don't I'm gonna say no
- 1:33:00Speaker 12: Justice League in the next five years. Like maybe there's
- 1:33:02Speaker 12: some other more minor team ups and I just don't
- 1:33:05Speaker 12: know the names of these DC teams, So maybe we
- 1:33:07Speaker 12: see some more of that. It sounds like even in
- 1:33:09Speaker 12: like right now, there's a bunch of people in Superman
- 1:33:11Speaker 12: there and Peacemakers, so it sounds like there's just a
- 1:33:13Speaker 12: lot of crossover stuff already that's occurring. So yeah, I
- 1:33:17Speaker 12: think that will have a nice few years hopefully holy
- 1:33:21Speaker 12: fall like hopeful, hopefully.
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: We get fucking Batman two in the next five years.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well we can't.
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: Ma don't hit me with the Matt Reeves gift. I
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: hope he doesn't say no.
- 1:33:30Speaker 14: Like I I hope this movie.
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: I'm that still working on the script. You know, he's
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: a slow writer, but he's still He's still.
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: That would be insane if we don't get that.
- 1:33:39Speaker 12: So yeah, I think I think DC will get a
- 1:33:42Speaker 12: few years here, and we'll kind of reevaluate how long,
- 1:33:45Speaker 12: you know, if they get to the Marvel level, or
- 1:33:47Speaker 12: if they just kind of had a nice little run
- 1:33:49Speaker 12: with James Gunn here where he gets like ten twelve
- 1:33:50Speaker 12: projects in and then it dies because of a lack
- 1:33:53Speaker 12: of money.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: Again, But we'll see again.
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: Though, as we talked about a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: when I was at any Episodes, when I went back
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: and listened to when we're talking about Blade, and it
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: had been two years and we were all like, oh man,
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: like they can't wait longer, And here we are six
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: years later, still wait on. But I don't think that's
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: gonna be the case of Batman. I do believe there's
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: a script, they're gonna go for it, but it's like,
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: you never know what gonna happen. Right, I would have
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: thought by now in the ten year anniversary, geek first
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: we'd be talking about, Oh I love Marshall he has played,
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: but so just waiting, hoping.
- 1:34:19Speaker 4: But yeah, so what's the next two or three movies
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: for DC right now?
- 1:34:23Speaker 7: Super Supergirls next year, next June, ju Ju Yeah, September, October.
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: Of September, so that leads into October year this year,
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: next year, next year.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: Yeah, done for movies this year?
- 1:34:39Speaker 7: Yeah yeah yeah, Lanterns is next year in June. I
- 1:34:44Speaker 7: believe was shot. Yeah show sorry, Peacemaker Officers this year.
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Show but no other movie dated Supergirl and clay Face.
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: So interesting.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: So that's what the whole gun approach, right, that they're
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: not gonna green light anything till.
- 1:35:01Speaker 7: It's till he had script in hand.
- 1:35:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he's he's the opposite.
- 1:35:04Speaker 12: Even though they put out that like big slate, but
- 1:35:06Speaker 12: it sounds like, yeah, that slate is now there's authority.
- 1:35:10Speaker 7: It's like chilling.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: Gone, yeah, brave and bold. You never know.
- 1:35:15Speaker 7: Apparent in the air.
- 1:35:16Speaker 11: Uh that article that came out with a quote of
- 1:35:20Speaker 11: James Gunn saying, oh.
- 1:35:21Speaker 13: Yeah, we had to scrap it. Apparently that was authority.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes sense.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: Scrappable, I think. Yeah.
- 1:35:30Speaker 12: And then over in the Marvel world, I really, I
- 1:35:34Speaker 12: you know, I don't know what's going on with this
- 1:35:36Speaker 12: whole reboot talk. I haven't dug into that, but I
- 1:35:38Speaker 12: hope that's not true.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: I hope we don't get a reset. That's what said
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: a resett. He said reboots a scary word. He didn't
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: want to use that word, but he said it's a Just.
- 1:35:49Speaker 12: Because it's a scary word doesn't mean it's not what
- 1:35:51Speaker 12: they're doing. But yeah, I hope we don't have anything
- 1:35:55Speaker 12: weird like that going on. It's it would seem too
- 1:35:57Speaker 12: soon for me for that kind of stuff, And there's
- 1:35:59Speaker 12: still so much potential room for their things to happen.
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: So I think Marvel's fine.
- 1:36:03Speaker 12: I mean, because even if they're similar, movies tank for
- 1:36:05Speaker 12: a bit like Disney still has infinite money, right, so
- 1:36:08Speaker 12: it's not like sometimes.
- 1:36:11Speaker 9: Their own printing presses.
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: Yeah, it seems like.
- 1:36:13Speaker 12: For a bit there as worries like with WB and
- 1:36:15Speaker 12: like DC, and it just like there's even money to
- 1:36:18Speaker 12: make movies at all. Right, But then one w B
- 1:36:21Speaker 12: has had like a good like year or two, right, well,
- 1:36:23Speaker 12: a lot of hits recently, so they're doing well again.
- 1:36:25Speaker 12: But yeah, Marvel, like because they're under the DC or
- 1:36:28Speaker 12: fucking Disney umbrella, they kind of have infinite cash flow
- 1:36:31Speaker 12: for the next few years.
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: So I think we'll have a good few times.
- 1:36:34Speaker 12: I think, yeah, they'll definitely really keep going with these
- 1:36:37Speaker 12: team up things, keep those constant instead of having like
- 1:36:39Speaker 12: the long drought like they've had this time. I feel
- 1:36:41Speaker 12: like the TV shows are probably gonna slow down big time.
- 1:36:43Speaker 12: But yeah, just movies really get into that X I
- 1:36:47Speaker 12: think we'll get X Men in the next five years.
- 1:36:49Speaker 12: I'll put that out there and then really can do
- 1:36:52Speaker 12: some big crossovers there, and that's a lot of potential
- 1:36:54Speaker 12: of casting fresh new people instead of and that's what
- 1:36:58Speaker 12: the purpose of you know, having X Men and do
- 1:37:00Speaker 12: day and stuff is, just get some of those oldies
- 1:37:02Speaker 12: in there for one last ride.
- 1:37:03Speaker 4: Kind of thing. So yeah, I think I think Marvel's fine.
- 1:37:06Speaker 12: Yeah, they have a couple of sinkers, but you know,
- 1:37:08Speaker 12: people forget that, Like Deadpool was like in the last year,
- 1:37:11Speaker 12: and that was a billion dollar movie, right, so they're
- 1:37:13Speaker 12: still doing it fine.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: Cut to us when we're reviewing Secret Wars and it's
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: like the worst Marvel movie we've ever seen, and.
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: You know, then then live bars these days, that'd be achieved.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: But I don't think now. I don't think we can
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: ever get to like Secret Invasion level. If if we do,
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: that's that's something else. But yeah, Joe, what about you,
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: DC Marvel?
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Five years?
- 1:37:33Speaker 7: Yeah, Marvel, I think so in five years, I definitely
- 1:37:37Speaker 7: think we'll be smack dab in the middle of I
- 1:37:41Speaker 7: guess the Reset era, the mar the X Men era.
- 1:37:47Speaker 7: So I think everything will be going strong. Marvel will
- 1:37:50Speaker 7: be doing great. And I think, man, I didn't realize
- 1:37:57Speaker 7: it was fifty seven projects right now.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: Yeah that's with everything, right with like even.
- 1:38:01Speaker 7: Yeah, with shows and yeah, yeah exactly, but like because
- 1:38:05Speaker 7: that's just I mean, I knew before it was a lot,
- 1:38:10Speaker 7: and damn, I just that's just a lot anyway. But no,
- 1:38:15Speaker 7: like that, that's still though that's still that's doing great. Obviously, Yeah,
- 1:38:19Speaker 7: they have a even with that much, even with that
- 1:38:23Speaker 7: many projects, and by that time in five years, you're
- 1:38:26Speaker 7: gonna have even if they're only doing one movie and
- 1:38:29Speaker 7: two shows at a time, that's still what sixty some projects,
- 1:38:34Speaker 7: give or take. In that time, you can still have
- 1:38:37Speaker 7: like a handful of bad and you might be like, oh, yeah,
- 1:38:41Speaker 7: that's bad, that's bad, that's bad. You can remember all
- 1:38:43Speaker 7: of the great things versus the bad. DC wise, though, like, yeah,
- 1:38:51Speaker 7: Superman's great. It started out great. I'm enjoying it. Uh
- 1:38:57Speaker 7: going forward though, Like obviously we've put a lot and
- 1:39:02Speaker 7: as viewers, we've put a lot of weight on the
- 1:39:06Speaker 7: shoulders of Superman. I think it's it's holding it right now.
- 1:39:10Speaker 7: But now we've got to move to the next thing,
- 1:39:12Speaker 7: which obviously Peacemaker season one was great. I mean, I
- 1:39:16Speaker 7: don't think the show is gonna be the season two
- 1:39:19Speaker 7: is going to be like moving anything along in respects
- 1:39:25Speaker 7: to the DCU in general. So the next thing being
- 1:39:30Speaker 7: super Girl for the universe, Now, that's that's gonna have
- 1:39:36Speaker 7: to carry a lot of things. And if that one bombs,
- 1:39:39Speaker 7: which I don't think it will because of the response
- 1:39:42Speaker 7: I'm seeing online with how Millie Alcock was at the
- 1:39:46Speaker 7: end of the movie and everybody's liking it. She was
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: all in the movie for all of what thirty seconds,
- 1:39:53Speaker 7: and everybody's just like, holy crap, this is my Supergirl.
- 1:39:55Speaker 7: It's like, really okay, I mean, yeah, she's great.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: Men, I was Supergirl sorr he it was.
- 1:40:05Speaker 7: It was a great scene though, I liked it, but
- 1:40:07Speaker 7: like that she was there for fifteen seconds, Like if
- 1:40:10Speaker 7: you're excited for this, like that means you're gonna love
- 1:40:13Speaker 7: her movie, I hope. But then after that, like that's
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: we've only got three movies right now. Obviously we've got
- 1:40:21Speaker 7: Superman just came out, and we've got Super grown clay
- 1:40:23Speaker 7: Face that are confirmed. We've got nothing else really that
- 1:40:28Speaker 7: is I mean Batman two allegedly, but like, yeah, that's
- 1:40:34Speaker 7: that's adjacent. That's not DCU. Everything else is like we
- 1:40:38Speaker 7: might have something swamp thing, might be a thing.
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 1:40:42Speaker 7: So it's while I was being DC Alliance. While I
- 1:40:46Speaker 7: want to be like, yeah, I'm hopeful that everything's gonna
- 1:40:49Speaker 7: be great, I'm kind of wishy washed she because I
- 1:40:52Speaker 7: don't know. I don't I want to say, yes, everything's
- 1:40:55Speaker 7: gonna be wonderful, but I I can't confidently say that I
- 1:41:00Speaker 7: think is gonna go smoothly because.
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: I think it's sold at any moment too, right, that's.
- 1:41:06Speaker 7: Always yeah, that's the other thing. Well, well, don't get
- 1:41:09Speaker 7: me wrong, James Gunn. I'm loving the the path he's going,
- 1:41:13Speaker 7: I'm loving what he's doing with it, and in James
- 1:41:16Speaker 7: gun I trust. I guess I don't know, but like
- 1:41:18Speaker 7: i'm what he's doing, what the plan he has going forward,
- 1:41:22Speaker 7: I'm I'm backing. But as of right now, we've only
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: got one project. Yeah, so he once we see more projects,
- 1:41:32Speaker 7: and once the world starts becoming bigger, then I can
- 1:41:36Speaker 7: competently say yes, five years from now, DCU is is here.
- 1:41:43Speaker 7: It's here to stay. I'm also with the rest of you.
- 1:41:46Speaker 7: I don't think we're gonna have a Justice League movie
- 1:41:48Speaker 7: in five years. Sorry Chris, but it's gonna happen. Stupid
- 1:41:54Speaker 7: take No, I didn't say that.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: Let's so yeah, there you go. Yeah, Clay, what about you,
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: Marl DC next five years?
- 1:42:08Speaker 13: I'll go with DC first, next five years.
- 1:42:11Speaker 11: I also am gonna go ahead and say no Justice
- 1:42:14Speaker 11: League for the next.
- 1:42:15Speaker 13: Five years plus. There's I'm gonna go and agree with
- 1:42:19Speaker 13: what Dylan had said.
- 1:42:20Speaker 11: There's gonna be a lot of other minor crossovers within
- 1:42:24Speaker 11: the universe. We have already heard so many different conversations
- 1:42:28Speaker 11: in the sense of Team Titans being in production.
- 1:42:34Speaker 13: I think for the fact that that involves so.
- 1:42:36Speaker 11: Many different corners of the DC universe, we're probably gonna
- 1:42:40Speaker 11: see a lot of cameos uh in that movie. I'm
- 1:42:45Speaker 11: willing to bet we will not see the first look
- 1:42:51Speaker 11: of Batman in Teen Titans, but.
- 1:42:53Speaker 13: At least the first tease for sure.
- 1:42:57Speaker 11: But as far as I also see in the comments,
- 1:43:02Speaker 11: somebody said if if the Supergirl does make money, it
- 1:43:05Speaker 11: will probably because of Lobo, because of the Supergirl movie
- 1:43:08Speaker 11: not doing well in the eighties and then Supergirl not
- 1:43:11Speaker 11: doing well on CBS. It did wonderfully depending on how
- 1:43:15Speaker 11: you kind of look at it on CW, even though
- 1:43:17Speaker 11: CW lost like majority of its money on every single
- 1:43:20Speaker 11: show that it made.
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think Logo is a draw on.
- 1:43:24Speaker 13: My Lobo is not the draw it would be Jason
- 1:43:28Speaker 13: Momoa is.
- 1:43:30Speaker 7: But you also want to say the eighties movie came
- 1:43:33Speaker 7: after three terrible Superman well, one terrible Superman movie, So.
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: The Reeve movies were going downhill.
- 1:43:40Speaker 7: Yes, that's what I'm saying. Three Superman three wasn't a
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: great movie. You're trying to do something else with that.
- 1:43:46Speaker 13: It's like, yeah, you.
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: Say, Momoa, sure, but even the low right Aukman two, Like,
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: sure it made fun or a million, but it wasn't
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: the huge success the first one was, right.
- 1:43:55Speaker 11: So yeah, and you know kind of what I was
- 1:43:58Speaker 11: saying with Star Wars, James Gun does seem to have
- 1:44:02Speaker 11: the idea of actually making different genres within the DCU,
- 1:44:07Speaker 11: not necessarily making everything look exactly.
- 1:44:10Speaker 13: Like Superman, for instance.
- 1:44:13Speaker 11: So we will see a lot of diversity not only
- 1:44:18Speaker 11: within the cast of each movie, but within the creative
- 1:44:22Speaker 11: teams as well. So we will see a lot of
- 1:44:25Speaker 11: different types of movies within this DC universe, which I
- 1:44:28Speaker 11: think is going to be a really nice draw.
- 1:44:31Speaker 13: So really hoping for Mangold.
- 1:44:35Speaker 11: To get on top of swamp thing, even though I
- 1:44:38Speaker 11: know that he has become a very very busy person,
- 1:44:41Speaker 11: and you know, we don't know which movie he's working
- 1:44:43Speaker 11: on currently, but yeah, I really do hope within the
- 1:44:48Speaker 11: next five years we will be getting teen Titans. I
- 1:44:54Speaker 11: know that there has also been kind of up in
- 1:44:57Speaker 11: the air that James Gunn has said that Mister Gold
- 1:45:00Speaker 11: is still in the works, but nothing has really been
- 1:45:03Speaker 11: firm on that. I think that fits very well within
- 1:45:07Speaker 11: the scope of how James Gunn creates, you know, television
- 1:45:11Speaker 11: and TV. We've also heard that there's gonna be a
- 1:45:15Speaker 11: series of shorts with Crypto that are gonna be coming
- 1:45:19Speaker 11: up on HBO Max, which I think are gonna be
- 1:45:22Speaker 11: fun as well, just kind of keeping the universe, you know,
- 1:45:25Speaker 11: alive between all of the waiting for TV shows.
- 1:45:28Speaker 13: And movies MCU.
- 1:45:34Speaker 11: I am super excited for the Mutant saga X Men
- 1:45:38Speaker 11: is literally my favorite part of Marvel Comics.
- 1:45:42Speaker 13: So getting to see how all of that really.
- 1:45:47Speaker 11: Is just gonna be berthed into the MCU, I think
- 1:45:50Speaker 11: it's gonna be really really fun.
- 1:45:53Speaker 13: But as far as like the.
- 1:45:57Speaker 11: Reset reboot conversations, I think that, you know, I think
- 1:46:02Speaker 11: it was Figy himself that's like, oh yeah, you know,
- 1:46:04Speaker 11: we're finally gonna see old new faces talking about other
- 1:46:11Speaker 11: characters that may have died and everything else. Because we've
- 1:46:14Speaker 11: they've recasted characters within the MCU before, so it's like
- 1:46:18Speaker 11: it only makes sense that we will see these characters
- 1:46:21Speaker 11: again in some other capacity. So I am hoping that
- 1:46:29Speaker 11: we get like for me personally in the next five years.
- 1:46:34Speaker 11: Not only do I want a firm X Men movie,
- 1:46:38Speaker 11: which I know we will get, but I would like
- 1:46:42Speaker 11: to see.
- 1:46:44Speaker 13: You know, the h has everybody seen Ironheart?
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: Is?
- 1:46:48Speaker 13: Is it okay? If I spoil that a little bit?
- 1:46:51Speaker 13: In okay?
- 1:46:54Speaker 11: They they were teasing Strange Academy, which was a really
- 1:46:59Speaker 11: fun comic book series when it first came out, and
- 1:47:04Speaker 11: that it's a very it's it's a very silly concept
- 1:47:08Speaker 11: because you get in the comic there was like dormm
- 1:47:11Speaker 11: whose child, nieces and nephews of Thorn Loki h and
- 1:47:19Speaker 11: you had so many different magical MCU characters as the
- 1:47:24Speaker 11: teachers and professors, which I thought, it's like literally like
- 1:47:28Speaker 11: just think of Hogwarts but in the MCU. And so
- 1:47:31Speaker 11: it's a it's a really fun idea, and I think
- 1:47:34Speaker 11: it could be absolutely amazing even if they were to say, hey,
- 1:47:39Speaker 11: we teased it in live action, but do exactly what
- 1:47:43Speaker 11: they did with Friendly Neighborhood Spider Man, make it into
- 1:47:46Speaker 11: a completely different universe and do it animated so that
- 1:47:49Speaker 11: way you can do a lot more with it. I
- 1:47:51Speaker 11: would even be okay with that, And speaking of animation,
- 1:47:55Speaker 11: within five years, I need an animated series of an
- 1:48:00Speaker 11: MCU character that's not Spider Man.
- 1:48:03Speaker 13: That's what I would personally watch, you know. No, I'd like.
- 1:48:11Speaker 11: For the fact that, like in the nineties, we had
- 1:48:14Speaker 11: so much We had Iron Man, we had uh a
- 1:48:19Speaker 11: Hulk for a little bit, we had so many really
- 1:48:22Speaker 11: fun ideas, like the fact that we had so many
- 1:48:26Speaker 11: cameos within the nineties Spider Man show like you, why
- 1:48:31Speaker 11: can't you pick one of these characters that we have
- 1:48:36Speaker 11: fallen in love within the MCU and create their own,
- 1:48:39Speaker 11: you know, animated series.
- 1:48:41Speaker 13: Yeah, that would be my thing.
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: I know we're getting Easaba Kanda, but for me, that
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: almost doesn't count because the fact that it's just gonna
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: be this quick like anthology.
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: Like if you can do a full series with Chichala
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: and it's not MCU, it's just hey, the separate thing,
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: that'd be great because I don't know what they're doing
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: with ch'challa.
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: And I guess that transition being to my thoughts where yeah,
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: I think you'll you'll get your recast. I think with
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: both DC and Marvel you have interesting points where like DC, yeah,
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: legitimately if Warner Brothers sells, that changes everything like that
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: that my answer to both five years is different because
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: if they sell, maybe Apple buys them and they just go, yeah, sure, James,
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: gunna keep doing your thing, or just now we want
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: our people in here. Thanks for sending us up, like
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: you never know, right, Like look at the DCU that
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: went through like three.
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: Different leaders at the top.
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: And just because zas Loss putting out his press statements
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: now doesn't mean anything in a few years if he
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: can make a deal, right, and so that's tough.
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I think they will have success.
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: I think the good thing with them with the scripts
- 1:49:34Speaker 2: and then keeping the budget lower, I think that's what
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: we'll have success.
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: And then I do think the Batman two will come out.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: I've always said I don't think the Batman three's gonna
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: happen unless Reeves kind of bends the knee, which sounds bad.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: But like I I just always feel like Jim's Gun's
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: trying to like maybe he's not, but every time I
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: just feel like he's trying to butter up my guy
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: Matt here. And you know, because I know.
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: Everyone's always like, well, he already said he's gonna have
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: a son and that doesn't fit. All James Gunn has
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: to do is put out a fucking tweet is that
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: you know, we changed your mind and we're not gonna
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: do rain Bowl. We're gonna do this right now. Like
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: it's like they like they're not He's already changed stuff.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: They're not beholden to us if they think they can
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: make more money elsewhere, right. So, but I think DC
- 1:50:14Speaker 2: if as long as with guns rains, I actually think
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: it will do relatively well.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: I think it will be.
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: My comparisons for both these is I think in the
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: next five years they'll have the success that MSU Phase
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: one had, where they'll have a couple hits, a couple
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: of modest ones, and then like a billion dollar movie,
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: like some big hit. And then I think with MSU
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: they're gonna get back to being more like Phase two,
- 1:50:34Speaker 2: where they had multiple billion dollar movies, but then you
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: still all smaller movies like ant Man, and I think
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: the the gauge has changed because even then like F
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: four might be the biggest movie of the year for them,
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: but that's still probably only gonna finish like five six
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: hundred million, right, which is not what Marvel used to
- 1:50:50Speaker 2: be their biggest movies used to be, like their lowest
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: movies used to be that, right, Like their lowest movies
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: used to be six seven hundred.
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: Now that's their biggest.
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: So I think, obviously you gotta look at the payscale
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: a bit differently, but I think they will succeed unless,
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: as I've always said, feel listen to a broken clock.
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: If Dooms in Secret Wars disappoints, I don't think that's
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: it for Marvel. I think, like Tayo said, will always exists.
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: But then I could see a world where it's like
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: we're only going X Men, Spider Man and another big property,
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: Like I could see if if they screw up on
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: those two Avengers movies, I think a lot of people
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: clock out and they're kind of officially done with Marvel
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: for a while, because that's people depend on those movies
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: to be the fun big events and the second it's
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: not a fun event to go to.
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: When those are like, oh man, like.
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: Even the big ones are disappointing, then I feel like
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: a lot of the not us, but the general audience
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: will say, Okay, I'm kind of done with these, and
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: that happens.
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: With franchises, right, or they'll take a longer break, But
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: I think you're gonna rock with X Men, and we'll see.
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: Everyone talks about X Men, but like they've X Men's
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: also never had other than Deadpool a billion dollar movie, right,
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: but neither did Spider Man before the MCU.
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: So I think X Men at.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: Least will get them some juice, and I hope that
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: they tackle that with some actual braveness, and they don't.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: Kind of, I just worry with the way the like
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: the world is, and I just don't want a very plain,
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: safe X Men movie. I don't want to just be like, yeah,
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: we're weird mutes and that goes into we're gonna fight
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: sentinels for two hours. Like I'd like them to hit
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: on what actually makes the X Men special. But sometimes
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: when igs like we want to stop telling stories that
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: are so specific to certain people, it's like, oh no, Like,
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: is there gonna be.
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: Some situation where Foggy wants to.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: Do this type of X Men And they look at
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: the script and like, you know what, Like Kevin, You've
- 1:52:30Speaker 2: had a good run, but this was too woke for us,
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: you know, so let's uh.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: I still think Foggy will be there. That's my other
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: five years.
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: I think he will still be there because we're gonna
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: get Avengers.
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: But yeah, that's the thing.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: I think DCU is gonna get to like Phase one,
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: Marvel and mcte's gonna be like at phase two.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: They're not gonna be Phase three where they're just.
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: Slinging billion dollar movies every year, and they're not gonna
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: be Phase four where it's kind of like a mixed reception.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: I think they're and I think it helps that they
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: should go back to. I know Foggy said the maximums
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: three movies a year, but even two is five. You know,
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: like last year they put up Deadpoolreen made billion dollars.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: That's good, Like don't don't oversaturate the mark, which I
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: think they already know so and we'll see. We don't
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: know all these like this Star Wars, like the audience's changed,
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: like tastes have changed so much over these years. You
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: never know what's gonna work and what's not gonna work, right,
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: Like maybe it's just a bunch of minecrafts and Lelan stitches,
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: you know, so I really don't know. I I think
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: I can safely say at least the Avengers movies will
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: make a billion and we'll go from there, so and
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: I think I can safely say that Clay will get
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: me a pizza in December for I'll wait till even January.
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: I'll give you that.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: Actually, I don't need to look because we went back
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: to it. I looked up all Avatar has to do
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: his four hundred and ninety three dollars million or four
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: hundred ninety three million.
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: God damn, I'll just get the pizza now, dude, Sonic tanked.
- 1:53:48Speaker 2: But but yeah, well we'll come back to that. But yeah, no,
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: this was fun, so yeah, I'll so we can get
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: everyone on. And it was a late one, but yeah,
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: we'll try to next year, try to do this a
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: bit more often, because we used to do this more.
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: But like I said, we're all just a bit were busier.
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: But yeah, thanks to Chris and Cave for coming in
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: for a bit, Joe and Clay. Thanks. We're taking some
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: time because alvious again, we know you guys are Easter
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: and so.
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: It's it's later over there so far, yeah, exactly, so
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: we'll end it here.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: But yeah, thanks everyone that listened to this.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: I think everyone that has wore Geek Firsts and geek
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: Holt Gliance has been a five fun five and ten years.
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: And we'll see us hopefully.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: Usually why we do these streams is hopefully it's when
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: Comic Con weekens happened, so next hopefully next year there's
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: some bigger stuff. We didn't talk about everything, but hopefully
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: next year there's some comic CON's actually back, or maybe
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: that's like E three where it's just dead and comic
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: CON's Can it be nothing in the next couple of
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: years other than just like Comicos, which is still cool.
- 1:54:36Speaker 13: DC fandom I would.
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: Love Yeah that I actually think that was our last
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: That might that might have been our last stream. I'm
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: thinking actually when we all did together was when we
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: sat around the whole day now because I was trying
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: to think what it was in DC fandom. The second one,
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: I think that was it where we just chilled out
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: and yeah there.
- 1:54:54Speaker 11: Was there was the no Way home, uh spoilers review.
- 1:55:00Speaker 7: No, no, no reaction great?
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: Was that after fandom too?
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: I think it was after Okay, so that was probably
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: last time yet where they announced it was just like
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: on a Monday, like, hey, trick comes up tomorrow, we
- 1:55:10Speaker 2: all go out together.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: Seeah. I hope we'll try to do a bit more often.
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: But yes, uh yeah everyone, thanks for listening. Next we'll
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: be warn Thank you guys for joining
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: See us see you guys talk
