- 7:09Maurio Dawson: We got to go now.
- 7:10Carmen Lezeth: You know what I feel so out of place because I've not been to Disney World.
- 7:15Maurio Dawson: That's not the point.

- 8:36Rick Costa: You know it'll down listen little bitch, it'll down for it, but.
- 8:43Rick Costa: But it's really brief, it doesn't last long.
- 8:46Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: No, it doesn't.
- 8:48Rick Costa: That's what it does.
- 8:51Alma Dawson: It will downpour.
- 8:52Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It will flood in like five, ten minutes.
- 8:54Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Then the sun comes out.
- 8:56Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It's all dried within 20 minutes.
- 8:58Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Then, like a half hour later, it does it all over again.

- 9:04Alma Dawson: Literally it's not raining.

- 9:24Alma Dawson: I can't see.
- 9:25Carmen Lezeth: You seem like being a bug on the wall of their relationship.
- 9:29Carmen Lezeth: You can totally see what's happening.
- 9:34Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: It's so cute and you can't when it rains like that when it rains like that, you can't see anything in front of you.

- 17:31Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I've been to the emergency room in my life probably five, six times.
- 17:37Maurio Dawson: Yeah Well.
- 17:39Carmen Lezeth: Twice, for well, I know you win, but twice because I had an allergic reaction to something and I couldn't breathe.
- 17:46Carmen Lezeth: It's like if you don't get to an, I didn't have an EpiPen one of the times.
- 17:52Maurio Dawson: Oh, wow.
- 17:55Carmen Lezeth: I carry it with me all the time, but yeah, the ER.
- 17:58Carmen Lezeth: Are we going to talk about this Really?
- 18:01Maurio Dawson: No no.
- 18:02Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I'm like what are we talking about you were busy you said talk amongst yourselves absolutely right.
- 18:10Carmen Lezeth: All right, prove that you are truly a gen x person.
- 18:13Carmen Lezeth: Give me something that would absolutely make us understand that you are gen x.
- 18:19Carmen Lezeth: You cannot say you drank water out of a hose.
- 18:21Maurio Dawson: It's been done I said that yesterday I know I.
- 18:25Carmen Lezeth: That's why I said you can't say it.
- 18:27Maurio Dawson: I used a phone book.
- 18:29Maurio Dawson: I had to turn the TV with my hand, I used the Thomas Guide.
- 18:38Carmen Lezeth: A what the Thomas Guide.
- 18:39Carmen Lezeth: That's really for only people in Los Angeles.
- 18:42Maurio Dawson: Right.
- 18:45Carmen Lezeth: You don't know what a Thomas Guide is either.
- 18:46Carmen Lezeth: It's a manual GPS, it's a map, oh, an atlas.
- 18:52Alma Dawson: No no.
- 18:55Maurio Dawson: It's a thick book.
- 18:56Maurio Dawson: It's a mini-sized phone book.
- 18:59Maurio Dawson: It was really flat and wide.
- 19:01Maurio Dawson: You have to go to the address on that page and you have to go from page.
- 19:05Alma Dawson: You have to go to the address on that page and you have to trace your way back to your address and follow the map to that address flipping through the book and it was like the whole all of Southern California in grids.
- 19:18Alma Dawson: Basically each section was like a different grid.
- 19:22Carmen Lezeth: If you went up north, you would get one from up there, like you'd get them from from all different parts, but it's like before we had gp.
- 19:28Carmen Lezeth: Oh god, hold on a second.
- 19:30Alma Dawson: Oh, that's definitely a california thing, and then also, what was it?
- 19:33Alma Dawson: Uhf and vhf?
- 19:35Alma Dawson: Remember you had to switch it.
- 19:37Alma Dawson: Oh yes, hi joy okay, yeah, okay, yeah um.
- 19:41Carmen Lezeth: How are you doing?
- 19:44Joy Gouge: doing okay.
- 19:45Joy Gouge: I'm doing okay.
- 19:46Joy Gouge: I'm finally got my voice back.
- 19:47Joy Gouge: So I've been.
- 19:50Joy Gouge: I got sick on the cruise, the end of the cruise and um, but I'm doing much better now.
- 19:58Carmen Lezeth: The cruise where you were in aruba texting me to ask where we're not to stay.
- 20:02Carmen Lezeth: Joy, before we go any further, I don't think I've introduced you to Alma.
- 20:17Carmen Lezeth: Alma, this is Joy.
- 20:18Carmen Lezeth: Alma is Mario's better half, so I'm introducing the two of you.
- 20:20Alma Dawson: Hi, it's good to meet you.
- 20:20Alma Dawson: Good to meet you too.
- 20:24Carmen Lezeth: Okay, so I'm sorry, go ahead.
- 20:25Carmen Lezeth: Alma, it's good to meet you.
- 20:26Carmen Lezeth: It's good to meet you too.
- 20:27Alma Dawson: Okay, so you went on your trip.
- 20:28Alma Dawson: I'm feeling.
- 20:30Alma Dawson: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 20:31Alma Dawson: Go ahead, alma.
- 20:32Alma Dawson: What'd you say?
- 20:32Alma Dawson: Better is true, I am the better half, yeah.
- 20:39Carmen Lezeth: So you went on your trip.
- 20:40Carmen Lezeth: You weren't feeling well, but now you're feeling better.
- 20:41Carmen Lezeth: But I have another question How's your mom doing?
- 20:47Joy Gouge: Cause I see if you weren't feeling well, but now you're feeling better.
- 20:50Carmen Lezeth: But I have another question how is your mom doing, because I see the posts on facebook.
- 20:52Carmen Lezeth: How is she doing?
- 20:52Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, she's doing a little better, so okay, so, yeah, yeah, all right.
- 20:54Carmen Lezeth: Well, we're keeping her in prayer, of course.
- 20:55Carmen Lezeth: Um, so what else is going?
- 20:56Joy Gouge: on, oh my gosh, bracing for the storms what storms?
- 21:02Carmen Lezeth: oh my god, we're back to weather.
- 21:03Carmen Lezeth: What are we?
- 21:04Joy Gouge: talking about, and that's what was wrong.
- 21:07Joy Gouge: I heard a noise and it was like oh god, my storm doors open, so it was like flapping back and forth in the wind.
- 21:14Carmen Lezeth: Okay but where are you again, because I don't think all of our audience knows where you are.
- 21:18Carmen Lezeth: We're in memphis, in memphis, and you guys have what storm coming through.
- 21:23Joy Gouge: And we've got like that whole storm that's moving from well, I think it came from California and then moving across the country and we are at a moderate to high risk of tornadoes tonight.
- 21:40Carmen Lezeth: Oh, wow, yeah, no, yeah, that scares me.
- 21:44Carmen Lezeth: So you guys, you guys got a warning or whatever.
- 21:47Carmen Lezeth: Is that?
- 21:47Carmen Lezeth: What's happened?
- 21:50Joy Gouge: And so, and we're under a tornado watch right now yeah, oh my god, that just scares me that scares me here with earthquakes.
- 21:59Carmen Lezeth: It just happens like we don't have any warning or whatever, and I kind of prefer that, in a way, because especially when I watch people on the east coast with the whole hurricane, like the, they're boarding up everything and they're, you know, everyone's going to the grocery store I'm like, oh, my god, my anxiety, yeah, so, um.
- 22:14Carmen Lezeth: So how long is the bracing for the tornado thing?
- 22:17Carmen Lezeth: Um, it's.
- 22:19Joy Gouge: I just got another alert and it's till 3 am.
- 22:23Maurio Dawson: Oh, okay all right so I have family in Little Rock, so I understand Yep.
- 22:29Maurio Dawson: So yeah, they've already called to let us know that they're on watch too, so it's coming right through there.
- 22:35Joy Gouge: It is, and actually I think they are supposed to get it a little worse than we are.
- 22:39Maurio Dawson: They are.
- 22:40Maurio Dawson: Yeah, my dad lives in Dumas, arkansas, and he got hit by a really bad tornado years ago.
- 22:48Maurio Dawson: Luckily it touched down.
- 22:51Maurio Dawson: It took the roof off the high school, but it didn't touch his house and he's literally right next door to the high school.
- 22:56Maurio Dawson: Wow, yeah, so you know tornadoes.
- 23:00Maurio Dawson: I understand what you're saying, carmen.
- 23:01Maurio Dawson: Tornadoes are scary because they're they are.
- 23:04Maurio Dawson: You don't know.
- 23:06Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, rick is going to jump off for a second because he's going to try to reboot, because, joy Rick, can't see you For some reason.
- 23:18Alma Dawson: You can log off, so joy.
- 23:20Alma Dawson: Quick question the cruise that you went on, was this the one where you were going to have your dog with you?
- 23:28Joy Gouge: No, that was the cruise in may last night okay, okay.
- 23:33Alma Dawson: Well, how was that cruise without, without the, the accommodations?
- 23:36Alma Dawson: Was it a good experience?
- 23:38Joy Gouge: it was actually fantastic.
- 23:41Joy Gouge: I could not have asked for anything any better.
- 23:45Joy Gouge: It was amazing okay, awesome, awesome.
- 23:50Alma Dawson: I was wondering if it was all it was, you know, because you were like, we'll see how it goes, so I'm glad that it was good yeah, it really was.
- 23:59Joy Gouge: There was what ended up being is about.
- 24:02Joy Gouge: All in total was like 60 some blind people and 40 dogs wow a lot of dogs that is, it is amazing.
- 24:13Joy Gouge: Yeah, but it was they.
- 24:16Joy Gouge: Carnival and I had to give.
- 24:18Joy Gouge: I mean, carnival was amazing about training their staff on how to deal with blind people Absolutely fantastic.
- 24:30Alma Dawson: That's awesome.
- 24:31Alma Dawson: That's awesome.
- 24:32Alma Dawson: Glad to hear that.
- 24:33Alma Dawson: I'm glad to hear that.
- 24:36Alma Dawson: But see, I would have been one of those people.
- 24:37Alma Dawson: I see the dogs and I want to pet and I have to stop myself.
- 24:42Alma Dawson: I have to stop, I know I'm like, oh so cute, I'm the same way I know Well, they did have a mission three to stop.
- 24:49Alma Dawson: I know I'm like I'm so cute, I'm the same way I know.
- 24:50Alma Dawson: Well, they didn't have I never touched.
- 24:51Alma Dawson: Oh, they did a meet and greet they did awesome.
- 24:55Alma Dawson: Yeah, I would have been first in line, oh yeah oh yeah, no, no, I like even dogs.
- 25:01Carmen Lezeth: I don't touch anybody's dogs.
- 25:03Carmen Lezeth: I don't.
- 25:03Carmen Lezeth: I love dogs, but I don't touch them at all, ever.
- 25:06Carmen Lezeth: I respect the respect, the space.
- 25:07Carmen Lezeth: They're like children.
- 25:08Carmen Lezeth: Would you ever go up and touch somebody's child?
- 25:10Carmen Lezeth: That's how.
- 25:11Carmen Lezeth: I look at it.
- 25:12Carmen Lezeth: I actually ask for permission.
- 25:13Carmen Lezeth: That's what I mean?
- 25:16Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Can I say?
- 25:16Alma Dawson: hello.
- 25:17Alma Dawson: I always say can I say hello to your dog?
- 25:19Alma Dawson: And then most people say yes, but there are a few that say no, my dog's not really friendly and it's like no problem you know well the big, the big clue is when they have the thing on their, on their nose across the street.
- 25:38Carmen Lezeth: It's all good, yeah, um, yeah people here are very weird about their dogs too.
- 25:43Carmen Lezeth: Like, especially if the dog comes up to you you know you want to say hi, but I still.
- 25:48Carmen Lezeth: I've learned my lesson.
- 25:49Carmen Lezeth: I just I just walk away and move over.
- 25:51Carmen Lezeth: People get really weird here about their dogs.
- 25:54Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, so joy, how can you prove that you are gen x?
- 25:57Carmen Lezeth: If you are gen x, are you gen x?
- 26:02Joy Gouge: I think so.
- 26:02Joy Gouge: Um, I don't even remember now how the ages are I just keep up with it.
- 26:11Carmen Lezeth: No, no, gen X is.
- 26:12Carmen Lezeth: You have to be born between the ages of 1965 and 1980.
- 26:18Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, I was there, yeah.
- 26:22Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: She said yeah, I was there, that was me.
- 26:26Carmen Lezeth: Yeah.
- 26:26Carmen Lezeth: So, Mario, what did you say was your proof that you were Gen X?
- 26:30Carmen Lezeth: I forgot.
- 26:32Maurio Dawson: Oh, having to turn the television without a remote, that's true.
- 26:36Maurio Dawson: And, like I almost said, vhf and UHF television, yep.
- 26:40Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: And what?
- 26:40Carmen Lezeth: was yours.
- 26:41Carmen Lezeth: Mine was using a phone book.
- 26:43Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's right, and we talked.
- 26:45Carmen Lezeth: Oh, we were talking about the Thomas guide, that's right.
- 26:47Carmen Lezeth: That's right.
- 26:47Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh, we were talking about the Thomas Guide.
- 26:48Carmen Lezeth: That's right.
- 26:48Carmen Lezeth: That's all he was talking about.
- 26:50Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and mine is.
- 26:54Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I just remember exactly where I was during the Challenger.
- 26:56Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Oh yeah, I remember that too.
- 26:58Carmen Lezeth: Yeah that was fierce.
- 27:02Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, we were living on Forbes Street.
- 27:04Maurio Dawson: Sad fact, but a fact indeed is.
- 27:07Maurio Dawson: Ron McNair was one of my church members, really.
- 27:11Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah.
- 27:12Maurio Dawson: That affected us very deeply because we had to go back to church right after and he had just been there just a few weeks before, so it was yeah.
- 27:24Maurio Dawson: I remember that very vividly.
- 27:27Carmen Lezeth: Oh man, I'm so sorry.
- 27:28Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, so I remember that very vividly.
- 27:29Maurio Dawson: Oh man, I I'm so sorry yeah, so I remember that, yeah, that's, that's it it's kind of like when people yeah, anyways, I don't want to get dark, but no, no, no no, no, I was gonna talk about 9-11.
- 27:40Carmen Lezeth: It's the same thing like, oh, this is yeah, yeah, hold on a second this is to be less anxiety-driven for me today.
- 27:47Carmen Lezeth: Okay, rick, that was a mistake.
- 27:51Carmen Lezeth: Now I can't get back on.
- 27:53Carmen Lezeth: We'll keep trying.
- 27:54Rick Costa: Oh no.
- 27:58Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: How about MTV, ooh MTV, when they used to play music.
- 28:03Maurio Dawson: Yeah, we had to all run to our televisions and wait for Michael Jackson's Thriller to come out Before DVR.
- 28:12Maurio Dawson: You had to run in front of the TV and wait for the music video or for the song to come out.
- 28:20Alma Dawson: Using a dial telephone and the Apollo Moon landing, that's what Lenny said oh wow, the Apollo Moon landing.
- 28:27Maurio Dawson: Wait, the Apollo Moon landing.
- 28:27Maurio Dawson: That's what Lenny said.
- 28:28Maurio Dawson: Oh wow, the Apollo moon landing.
- 28:29Carmen Lezeth: Wait the Apollo moon landing.
- 28:31Maurio Dawson: I wasn't around.
- 28:33Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Wasn't that 69?
- 28:35Joy Gouge: Yeah that's boomer land.
- 28:36Joy Gouge: That's what I'm thinking was 69, I think.
- 28:40Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I thought that was 69, so that would be Gen X wouldn't it?
- 28:42Carmen Lezeth: Oh, let me see.
- 28:42Carmen Lezeth: Maybe she's right, maybe I'm in denial, okay, when was the.
- 28:47Alma Dawson: I wasn't there yet using that, but the rotary phone remember I remember rotary phone.
- 28:54Maurio Dawson: Yeah, I do, oh, yeah it was 1969 oh, that's, but you, I mean we were like well I wasn't born yet I wasn't here, sorry.
- 29:06Joy Gouge: Neither was.
- 29:06Carmen Lezeth: I I can't Okay so yes, the Apollo moon landing was during the Gen X period.
- 29:12Carmen Lezeth: But if you were born in 1965, you were like two, two, you were like four, four.
- 29:22Alma Dawson: Yeah, yeah, hey.
- 29:27Carmen Lezeth: I only do accounting for a living.
- 29:29Carmen Lezeth: All right, stop it.
- 29:30Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: I'm just kidding it's okay, I love how we all just got quiet too like wait a minute.
- 29:38Alma Dawson: That's not right oh my god, I'm so tired when she said the telephone, yeah, the pleasure of actually hanging up.
- 29:51Maurio Dawson: On someone, yep.
- 29:52Alma Dawson: Kiss.
- 29:53Maurio Dawson: Oh, it hurt Slamming the phone or just taking the phone off the hook.
- 29:58Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yep, that's how you block them, oh that was a block back then.
- 30:04Carmen Lezeth: True, but how about when you called somebody and you heard the beep and they were busy?
- 30:08Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I hated that, especially when it was a busy signal.
- 30:13Maurio Dawson: Oh, the call waiting.
- 30:14Maurio Dawson: But didn't you love when Star 69 came into play.
- 30:19Alma Dawson: Oh, Star 69.
- 30:20Alma Dawson: Yeah.
- 30:23Carmen Lezeth: So weird.
- 30:23Carmen Lezeth: Wow, okay, we're Gen X.
- 30:25Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: We're.
- 30:25Carmen Lezeth: Gen X.
- 30:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, and that cord was so long Remember.
- 30:32Joy Gouge: It would get all twisted.
- 30:34Maurio Dawson: Yes.
- 30:34Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah, oh, my God, melanie, yes.
- 30:38Carmen Lezeth: That's right.
- 30:38Carmen Lezeth: Waiting by the radio for your favorite song to record it with your cassette.
- 30:43Maurio Dawson: Yes, yeah, yeah, I was creating a playlist before there was creating a playlist before there was creating a playlist, having your boombox with you, carrying it around.
- 30:54Maurio Dawson: If you liked a girl, you sit up there all night long recording songs on the radio and then you go to school and say I made this for you.
- 31:04Carmen Lezeth: And there was like songs by Journey would be on there too.
- 31:07Joy Gouge: Oh, I still love Journey for you and there was like songs by Journey would be on there too.
- 31:11Joy Gouge: I still love.
- 31:11Carmen Lezeth: Journey, I still love Journey.
- 31:13Carmen Lezeth: He's one of the best singers on the planet.
- 31:14Carmen Lezeth: He really is.
- 31:16Alma Dawson: Oh, Steve Perry is awesome, yeah.
- 31:17Alma Dawson: And my first CD was Whitney Houston.
- 31:21Carmen Lezeth: Yes, rick is missing it because you know he loved him some Whitney.
- 31:26Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I know He'll preface it first by saying but I really only listen to religious music.
- 31:31Maurio Dawson: And then, he'll say If I'm going to listen to secular, it's got to be.
- 31:36Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Whitney.
- 31:38Carmen Lezeth: Whitney.
- 31:39Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I want to dance with somebody.
- 31:41Carmen Lezeth: Remember when that video came out?
- 31:43Maurio Dawson: Her first video.
- 31:44Maurio Dawson: I remember standing on the love video.
- 31:47Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I can't sing that, but I can sing it, but it'd be bad.
- 31:56Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You sing it very well in your car huh.
- 32:00Joy Gouge: What.
- 32:00Maurio Dawson: Would it be bad or would it be bad adjacent?
- 32:04Carmen Lezeth: No, it'd be bad.
- 32:05Carmen Lezeth: Adjacent I can sing, but my voice does not sound good.
- 32:10Carmen Lezeth: That's how I say it.
- 32:13Carmen Lezeth: I'm not off key, I just don't have a beautiful voice.
- 32:16Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 32:18Carmen Lezeth: I hear a key very well, okay.
- 32:21Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I just did it.
- 32:24Carmen Lezeth: It was bad.
- 32:28Maurio Dawson: We just moved on through.
- 32:29Maurio Dawson: We need to go karaoke and get a private room so you can just sing your heart out, I do karaoke.
- 32:34Carmen Lezeth: That's the whole point of karaoke.
- 32:35Carmen Lezeth: The one thing I can't stand when you do go do karaoke is when there's a professional singer in the room.
- 32:42Alma Dawson: Oh my gosh.
- 32:44Carmen Lezeth: The whole point is to sound horrible.
- 32:47Alma Dawson: That is the whole point.
- 32:48Alma Dawson: And to have fun.
- 32:51Carmen Lezeth: Why do I think Alma sounds good when she's singing?
- 32:53Maurio Dawson: She's embracing.
- 32:55Carmen Lezeth: I can see it, we said Whitney Houston, and you came back.
- 33:00Carmen Lezeth: How you doing.

- 33:39Alma Dawson: He asked me that has that song.
- 33:42Alma Dawson: Yes, that was behind the scenes.
- 33:45Alma Dawson: Behind the scenes.
- 33:49Carmen Lezeth: Joy.
- 33:50Carmen Lezeth: You can't see, but Mario is jumping all up in front of Alma, making it like she ain't even around on the show.
- 33:55Joy Gouge: Okay.
- 33:58Maurio Dawson: Not at all.
- 33:58Carmen Lezeth: It's him and the camera, because if we had to choose, Choose your words wise, choose your words.
- 34:11Rick Costa: I believe I said, was that the one with?
- 34:15Carmen Lezeth: and then I said the song yeah, why are you even getting into?

- 34:38Carmen Lezeth: that.
- 34:38Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's cool.
- 34:39Carmen Lezeth: Oh, we're on TikTok, did I put?
- 34:41Maurio Dawson: us on TikTok.
- 34:43Carmen Lezeth: Whose is it though?
- 34:44Carmen Lezeth: Is that yours or my TikTok?
- 34:45Maurio Dawson: That's mine.
- 34:46Maurio Dawson: No, it's yours.
- 34:47Maurio Dawson: I'm on your page.
- 34:48Carmen Lezeth: I try not to put it on TikTok, because we're never there and nobody looks at it.
- 34:52Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, I'm looking at it.

- 34:57Carmen Lezeth: Some native lives on there.
- 34:58Carmen Lezeth: So I'm going to do them with Bruno, and then Bruno might come on the show.
- 35:02Carmen Lezeth: Oh, you guys don't know who Bruno is.
- 35:10Maurio Dawson: Bruno's the gentleman we don't talk about Bruno.
- 35:11Maurio Dawson: I'm sure he's never heard that, ever, but he's the gentleman.
- 35:13Maurio Dawson: He's the gentleman from, uh, bruno, from Abbott Elementary, right?

- 35:17Carmen Lezeth: oh, you know, bruno Amato hey Bruno hey, bruno, so he's um, he just joined uh TikTok the other day and we found each other.
- 35:31Carmen Lezeth: But I've known him for a long time and the thing that's really cool about Bruno's story is that he, you know, recently started acting, and I don't mean recently, it's been I think like 20 years or something, but he was an iron worker.
- 35:43Alma Dawson: Nice, and he just made and he's in.
- 35:46Carmen Lezeth: he was in the military and stuff and then he was an iron worker.
- 35:49Carmen Lezeth: Joy, you getting a cold god bless you.
- 35:52Joy Gouge: Oh, I've got.
- 35:53Joy Gouge: I've got like some draining stuff going right now, so it's all a desk, it's like flying around and okay just making sure.
- 36:02Carmen Lezeth: Um, okay, I want to hear what they talking about.
- 36:05Carmen Lezeth: What's going on?
- 36:06Maurio Dawson: I was telling I was trying to give her character reference on abbott elementary because that's our favorite show, and so I was telling her who bruno was.
- 36:12Alma Dawson: Oh, okay, great yeah, elementary is like they have a camera at my school right I'm like oh, oh, that's so cool.
- 36:21Carmen Lezeth: He's been on a lot of shows and stuff and he's a character actor and he's a good guy and um.
- 36:26Carmen Lezeth: So I asked him if he'd be on the show and he said he would, maybe like in April or something.
- 36:30Carmen Lezeth: So, um, but yeah, but we're going to do a live on Tik TOK so that we can both figure it out.
- 36:35Carmen Lezeth: But I made a post today.
- 36:37Carmen Lezeth: I was laughing because I listened to Gary V.
- 36:39Carmen Lezeth: Do you guys know who Gary V is?
- 36:41Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, he's a motivational anyway, he's a cool guy, but anyways, but he said something that was so true.
- 36:47Carmen Lezeth: He goes.
- 36:49Carmen Lezeth: The reason why you're not getting a lot of views or a lot of followers isn't because of the algorithm, it's because your content sucks.
- 37:00Carmen Lezeth: He goes.
- 37:01Carmen Lezeth: And you can keep blaming the algorithm all you want, but all the algorithm is is customers like they don't want to watch your stuff, so they pass, they move on.
- 37:09Carmen Lezeth: He's like so, fix your content.
- 37:10Carmen Lezeth: So I did a tiktok.
- 37:12Carmen Lezeth: I'm like I totally agree, and I realize now my content sucks, so I'm gonna do better.
- 37:16Carmen Lezeth: You know, bruno chimed in about that, but it was just, it's just so funny and um, but he's right, you got to change it up, you got to fix it and just I'm not consistent, so I don't do stuff consistent.
- 37:29Carmen Lezeth: I'll do it for like three weeks.
- 37:30Carmen Lezeth: I'll post like two, three times a day and then I'll be tired and exhausted and not do it, and I know that's part of it.
- 37:37Carmen Lezeth: You have to do it consistently.
- 37:39Maurio Dawson: It's a job.
- 37:40Carmen Lezeth: It's a job.
- 37:41Carmen Lezeth: It's a job yeah.
- 37:52Joy Gouge: Now with TikTok, because I've not been on there a long time, because it was a little less accessible.
- 37:55Joy Gouge: So do you use like?
- 37:57Carmen Lezeth: hashtags and stuff too.
- 37:58Carmen Lezeth: There's a big debate right now about whether or not hashtags matter anymore.
- 38:02Carmen Lezeth: I think hashtags still matter because it helps people find content.
- 38:10Carmen Lezeth: So if I go into the search engine and I say you know carnival or whatever, let's say I'm looking.
- 38:14Carmen Lezeth: I mean than anybody who actually put that as a hashtag.
- 38:19Carmen Lezeth: But what they're also saying is that, especially because AI has been introduced in every level, especially also on TikTok, is they know what you're talking about.
- 38:29Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 38:30Carmen Lezeth: Like they know they're grabbing the words as well too.
- 38:32Carmen Lezeth: So I don't think it hurts, but I don't think it's the answer to why you know people are or are not using or watching your content.
- 38:41Carmen Lezeth: Now, I did a test last week and I or or two weeks ago test last week and I, or or two weeks ago, whenever we had Nilou on, I did a test before she came on, I did an ad for her um show and then I did like two other posts and I paid for it.
- 38:57Carmen Lezeth: So I paid like I think it was like $12 for all three of them just to go to see how many views that we get, and I did get over a thousand views on each video and it was only $12.
- 39:09Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but I don't want to have to pay for that every time.
- 39:12Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 39:12Carmen Lezeth: Like you want to.
- 39:13Carmen Lezeth: I mean, if I'm making money from there, then I'll invest money in there, you know so.
- 39:18Maurio Dawson: But do you?
- 39:19Maurio Dawson: But do you think that by you paying for that, except for the accessibility, it put more eyes on you, which in turn can create more eyes on you later on?
- 39:35Carmen Lezeth: There is no doubt that that is absolutely true.
- 39:36Carmen Lezeth: That's on any platform.
- 39:37Carmen Lezeth: I did the same thing on LinkedIn.
- 39:38Carmen Lezeth: I did the same thing.
- 39:38Carmen Lezeth: Well, I've never put money on Facebook and Instagram, but there was a third one I did, I forget.
- 39:43Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, there's no doubt advertising in anything works right.
- 39:47Carmen Lezeth: The problem is is for me, I don't have that kind of money to do that for every post, even though it's only like, even if I spend $12 a day.
- 39:57Carmen Lezeth: That's a lot of money, you know what I mean yeah it is, it adds up, yeah.
- 40:01Carmen Lezeth: So it's kind of a catch 22.
- 40:03Carmen Lezeth: I think if I go live and I do some native content and this is for everyone, by the way, I'm not just saying you know me or whatever, but go live on TikTok you'll get more eyes.
- 40:12Carmen Lezeth: I mean, in the beginning you won't, you'll get like two or three people or something or whatever.
- 40:15Carmen Lezeth: But then you know, eventually, if you keep doing your content, you'll get more and more views and I think it gets you, if you're a business account, much more.
- 40:28Carmen Lezeth: So I was a business account for a while and I went back to individual.
- 40:31Carmen Lezeth: I tested it.
- 40:32Carmen Lezeth: I got many more views if I did business and you also get all of the stats.
- 40:37Carmen Lezeth: You get so much more stuff.
- 40:38Carmen Lezeth: If you're a business account, what you don't get is the possibility to be in the creator fund, which is what everybody wants right.
- 40:45Carmen Lezeth: So if you have a business account, it really is all about ads and you know what I mean and like you're selling something or whatever and you can do that.
- 40:52Carmen Lezeth: You can do affiliate, affiliate marketing.
- 40:55Carmen Lezeth: How do you say it?
- 40:56Carmen Lezeth: Affiliate, yeah, thank you.
- 40:59Carmen Lezeth: Whatever marketing and I don't, I don't want to sell stuffage, you know I'm not opposed to it, but like that's not my jam either you know, so I've been testing it out, but I think the most important thing is native content, not using third-party platforms, making your content on there and also being consistent on a regular basis.
- 41:19Carmen Lezeth: That's what I've seen.
- 41:20Carmen Lezeth: That's how I've gotten all my followers, you know, and I don't have that many followers I have like 7 462 but I love them all.
- 41:31Rick Costa: That's a lot that's a lot I think I have two, but it's actually.
- 41:38Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I mean I didn't mean to say it that way.
- 41:40Carmen Lezeth: I mean not in comparison to everyone else on that platform that has hundreds of thousands of yeah or millions, yeah, yeah well.
- 41:47Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Millions, yeah, yeah Well millions, please.
- 41:50Carmen Lezeth: And Bruno's been on there for a minute and already has.
- 41:53Carmen Lezeth: You know, he's been on there, I think, two weeks and he's almost at like I don't know, 3000, 4,000 followers.
- 41:58Carmen Lezeth: But he also comes to the table because he's on a TV show.
- 42:02Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean, and so you know people who know Abbott, Elementary or whatever are.
- 42:07Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 42:08Carmen Lezeth: And plus, anyway, you bring what you bring to the table, also with your celebrity or whatever, if you have that, you know so.
- 42:15Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, it'd be cool too when we go live, If you guys want to come live with us, that'd be fun, you know.
- 42:20Carmen Lezeth: But we're not going to do it here, we're going to do it on TikTok.
- 42:22Carmen Lezeth: So, native, you know, does that make sense?
- 42:25Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, We'll let you know when you come, you know.
- 42:28Maurio Dawson: I'm just so joking.
- 42:29Maurio Dawson: Calm down, simmer down.
- 42:31Maurio Dawson: Simmer down, simmer down.
- 42:33Maurio Dawson: What do you?
- 42:34Carmen Lezeth: mean simmer down.
- 42:35Carmen Lezeth: He's so funny because he's saying simmer down.
- 42:37Carmen Lezeth: And now I'm getting more upset.
- 42:38Carmen Lezeth: What, what, what.
- 42:42Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: So don't you know?
- 42:44Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You're not supposed to tell a woman to relax or sit her down, and yet I still do.
- 42:52Carmen Lezeth: Mara's a pain in the ass, mara are you?
- 42:55Carmen Lezeth: Okay, mara, how you doing girl 30 years, she's just fine she's blinking she's just fine.
- 43:13Carmen Lezeth: Rick, you're on TikTok.
- 43:17Carmen Lezeth: How are you doing with gaining followers?
- 43:19Carmen Lezeth: How are you feeling about it?
- 43:21Carmen Lezeth: You've been playing a lot with TikTok as well lately.
- 43:23Rick Costa: No, I'm just doing my regular broadcast.
- 43:26Rick Costa: I do daily on there too with Restream, that's all.
- 43:28Rick Costa: I'm not really doing anything specific.
- 43:31Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You get more followers.
- 43:35Rick Costa: It's about I was doing follow for follow for a long time and now it's about pretty much 50-50.
- 43:41Carmen Lezeth: What's follow for follower?
- 43:43Carmen Lezeth: What's that mean?
- 43:44Rick Costa: Follow me, I follow you.
- 43:46Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, I don't do that.
- 43:49Joy Gouge: Oh.
- 43:49Joy Gouge: I've got big trouble doing that why?
- 43:55Carmen Lezeth: Why did you get in trouble, Joy?
- 43:57Joy Gouge: Because I followed some people back, because when I first started in social media and like broadcasting, I was following people that I should not have been following.
- 44:08Joy Gouge: I mean it was bad and it was like okay, I've got to go through, I can't follow everybody that follows me.
- 44:16Joy Gouge: Because it was just like oh yeah let's know.
- 44:21Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Let's know.
- 44:24Joy Gouge: What does oh mean?
- 44:25Joy Gouge: Okay, that's a perfect example, because this is when I first got on Periscope.
- 44:32Joy Gouge: I was following people you know and their stuff would come up and I was like, okay, you know innocent name, so I click on it.
- 44:43Joy Gouge: The guy's naked in a bathtub.
- 44:48Carmen Lezeth: Oh, all, right now.
- 44:49Carmen Lezeth: Spicy joys in the house.
- 44:54Rick Costa: Periscope had it all.
- 44:55Rick Costa: They had people doing a nasty film in it.
- 44:56Rick Costa: I'm like, no, no, wait, wait.
- 44:56Rick Costa: So Periscope was it all.
- 44:57Rick Costa: They had people doing a nasty film in it.
- 44:57Rick Costa: I'm like, no, no, wait, wait so.
- 45:00Carmen Lezeth: Periscope was X-rated.
- 45:02Carmen Lezeth: You didn't tell me that, Rick.
- 45:06Joy Gouge: Some of the stuff was really really bad.
- 45:08Joy Gouge: Oh, wow, yeah, wow yeah.
- 45:11Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Wait.
- 45:12Carmen Lezeth: Periscope belonged to TikTok.
- 45:13Carmen Lezeth: I mean, yeah to Twitter, right To Twitter.
- 45:16Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, why would they allow that?
- 45:19Rick Costa: Well, you have the opportunity to say please block this, and then they would eventually see it and block it.
- 45:23Rick Costa: But towards the end, nobody was checking nothing.
- 45:26Joy Gouge: Yeah, it was bad.
- 45:27Joy Gouge: It got really really bad.
- 45:29Joy Gouge: I know I had to clean up somebody's account and I saw some stuff I can't unsee.
- 45:44Carmen Lezeth: That's the word.
- 45:47Joy Gouge: It was a business account that I was handling at the time and it was like you can't unsee.
- 45:53Joy Gouge: Wow, it's like anybody can go on there and see who you are following.
- 46:00Joy Gouge: I said, this is a business account.
- 46:04Joy Gouge: If you want to do that stuff, go make you another account, but don't do it on your business account.
- 46:11Carmen Lezeth: I'm always shook at how secure people are with their ugly bodies.
- 46:16Carmen Lezeth: Some people really should know.
- 46:18Carmen Lezeth: But you know I'm always impressed by that because I've seen some things I cannot unsee too.
- 46:25Maurio Dawson: You know what I mean.
- 46:26Maurio Dawson: Confidence is key.
- 46:28Carmen Lezeth: Yes, confidence is very key.
- 46:32Maurio Dawson: Just saying not to judge.
- 46:33Maurio Dawson: You said they put the ugly in ugly.
- 46:39Carmen Lezeth: I did not know that there was x-rayed stuff on Periscope.
- 46:42Carmen Lezeth: I mean.
- 46:42Carmen Lezeth: I heard a lot of bad stuff about Periscope, but I never heard that it had all that.
- 46:46Carmen Lezeth: Wow, I was never part of that whole thing.
- 46:51Joy Gouge: And there was a lot of good stuff on there.
- 46:53Joy Gouge: You know it really was, but you know I mean mean it had its dark side too.
- 47:01Joy Gouge: Yeah, I mean, I was on.
- 47:02Joy Gouge: I was on a on like the twitter um shoot, what was it called it was and I was only on this group for six months because I couldn't handle it.
- 47:15Joy Gouge: We were tasked to go and find child porn.
- 47:21Joy Gouge: That was bad, it was really bad.
- 47:26Joy Gouge: That was on Twitter, it was on Periscope, but it was through Twitter.
- 47:33Carmen Lezeth: Okay, we need to bring this back to Joy.
- 47:35Carmen Lezeth: I don't mean the person.
- 47:36Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to talk about this stuff no more.
- 47:42Joy Gouge: Yeah, it's that that goes into like the dark side.
- 47:45Alma Dawson: Let's go back to the light yeah okay, I have another one about gen x, who you started off with 8 Tracks and you ended up with CDs.
- 48:03Maurio Dawson: That's all, gen X.
- 48:04Alma Dawson: That's all, gen X.
- 48:07Maurio Dawson: And a good old 45.
- 48:10Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah.
- 48:11Maurio Dawson: Do you?
- 48:12Carmen Lezeth: guys remember Pagers.
- 48:14Maurio Dawson: Yes.
- 48:16Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, that was so dorky.
- 48:17Carmen Lezeth: That really was a dorky time, it really was.
- 48:21Maurio Dawson: It was a pager, so you can get somebody can page you so you can go run to the pay phone Exactly To call them back.
- 48:28Maurio Dawson: Yes, Like it was an emergency and don't beat me 911.
- 48:34Rick Costa: Right, I beat you 911.
- 48:38Maurio Dawson: Why I beat you 9-1-1 why you didn't answer me right away, because I had to find a payphone the only people that were cool with pagers were surgeons and doctors.
- 48:45Carmen Lezeth: Like those are the only people back then that I felt were cool with pagers, but that was or you would go.
- 48:50Maurio Dawson: You would go to a payphone and page them with that number so they could call you on the payphone you ever done that or you were cool if you had somebody who could give you on the payphone you ever done that or you were cool if you had somebody who could give you an unlocked block cell phone.
- 49:03Maurio Dawson: Remember the big block, the big brick cell phone.
- 49:07Joy Gouge: The big phone.
- 49:07Joy Gouge: Yes, it weighed like five pounds.
- 49:10Maurio Dawson: Yes.
- 49:13Carmen Lezeth: How about calling Collect?
- 49:14Carmen Lezeth: How many times you guys called Collect?
- 49:16Carmen Lezeth: Oh my gosh, they wouldn't accept the call.
- 49:22Maurio Dawson: I got one.
- 49:25Rick Costa: What about don't call me until after nine o'clock on the cell phone, because that's ten minutes of free.
- 49:30Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yes.
- 49:33Maurio Dawson: Or don't call me long distance after a certain time.
- 49:36Maurio Dawson: Oh my gosh.
- 49:40Joy Gouge: Party lines.
- 49:40Joy Gouge: Do you remember party lines?
- 49:42Carmen Lezeth: party lines.
- 49:42Carmen Lezeth: You see how she's always going towards the porn kind of.
- 49:47Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 49:47Carmen Lezeth: I said party lines.
- 49:48Carmen Lezeth: That's what I heard.
- 49:51Carmen Lezeth: I hear a lot of relationship stuff yo Joy, I don't receive that.
- 49:58Maurio Dawson: I don't believe that's where you were going.
- 50:01Joy Gouge: No, it was not.
- 50:02Joy Gouge: It was like four people.
- 50:04Joy Gouge: A party line was like four people.
- 50:07Maurio Dawson: In your neighborhood was like on one phone line that if your neighbor was talking you had to wait till they were finished, but you know what that was more of a southern thing, because my grandmother had that same thing and if they were on, somebody was on the phone my aunt, who was in a different house on the same phone line, or my great grandfather, they can all pick up the phone and listen to your conversation.
- 50:32Maurio Dawson: So you better be clear for who you're talking about exactly, yeah.
- 50:36Maurio Dawson: Yeah, I remember that.
- 50:38Maurio Dawson: That's definitely a sudden thing.
- 50:44Carmen Lezeth: When you said party line, I remember there were calls.
- 50:46Carmen Lezeth: You could make phone calls to like a 909 number.
- 50:50Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You know what.
- 50:51Carmen Lezeth: I'm talking about, yeah, party lines Like they were, like you know, for the one 900.
- 50:56Maurio Dawson: That's right, Get your mind out.
- 50:57Carmen Lezeth: They were like you know for, oh, you're talking about the 1-900s.
- 50:59Alma Dawson: That's right.
- 50:59Alma Dawson: Get your mind out of the gutter, that's where Carmen was.
- 51:05Maurio Dawson: Carmen was in the gutter.
- 51:06Maurio Dawson: She was trying to take you there.
- 51:09Joy Gouge: That was an East Coast thing, apparently, carmen Carmen she just went all the way back to the deep end.
- 51:18Joy Gouge: No way, wait, wait.
- 51:25Carmen Lezeth: I'm going to mute you all and say my piece.
- 51:28Carmen Lezeth: But it's true, right, cynthia?
- 51:31Carmen Lezeth: When she said that, that was the first thing I thought of.
- 51:34Carmen Lezeth: I'm like what's wrong calling a 900 number?
- 51:36Carmen Lezeth: No, it's a 900 number.
- 51:38Carmen Lezeth: No, it wasn't 900 numbers.
- 51:39Rick Costa: No, that is so funny For some people that did give them joy.
- 51:48Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, Pastor Rick.
- 51:53Maurio Dawson: He heard it in confession.
- 51:56Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, that was a good laugh that was good.
- 52:03Rick Costa: Anybody bring up AOL accounts Well.
- 52:05Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Mario still has one, mario still has it.
- 52:09Carmen Lezeth: You just emailed me at AOL I know why didn't you hold on to it.
- 52:13Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of cool now.
- 52:14Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of vintage cool.
- 52:16Maurio Dawson: Because I don't feel like changing my email.
- 52:18Maurio Dawson: It's just easy.
- 52:20Maurio Dawson: I can't find mine.
- 52:21Carmen Lezeth: I can't get it back.
- 52:22Carmen Lezeth: I wish I would.
- 52:23Carmen Lezeth: I wouldn't use it, but I used to have.
- 52:25Maurio Dawson: I've never stopped using it.
- 52:26Maurio Dawson: I have three email addresses, but everybody still has my AOL account, so that's what I keep.
- 52:32Maurio Dawson: I bet you use.
- 52:35Rick Costa: MySpace too, the pastor.
- 52:36Carmen Lezeth: but you know, I bet you use MySpace too.
- 52:38Maurio Dawson: The pastor is dissing you.
- 52:39Maurio Dawson: Right there, you guys would be in my 35 right now how about that?
- 52:45Carmen Lezeth: I liked MySpace.
- 52:46Carmen Lezeth: I liked MySpace.
- 52:48Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: You remember, you could design it put some music in the background yeah, I almost said she didn't like MySpace you like Facebook better?
- 52:57Alma Dawson: I think I like when Facebook came around.
- 52:59Maurio Dawson: I did like Facebook better.
- 53:01Alma Dawson: The beginnings of it.
- 53:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, now it's what it is.
- 53:05Carmen Lezeth: All the politics around.
- 53:07Carmen Lezeth: It is just painful.
- 53:09Carmen Lezeth: Alma, what are you doing this weekend?
- 53:13Alma Dawson: I have a field trip tomorrow with the kiddos on a Saturday.
- 53:17Alma Dawson: Yes, she can't come home to me after I have a field trip tomorrow with the kiddos On a Saturday.
- 53:20Maurio Dawson: Yes, I told her she can't come home to me after.
- 53:23Carmen Lezeth: Where are you going, though, can we?
- 53:25Alma Dawson: ask where you're going.
- 53:25Alma Dawson: We're taking the kids to Medieval Times, oh fun.
- 53:30Alma Dawson: Usually he'll chaperone too, because he's a volunteer.
- 53:35Alma Dawson: He'll chaperone, but he can't go tomorrow because he is deathly allergic to horses.
- 53:41Maurio Dawson: Allergic to horses, oh yeah, so I have to go by myself.
- 53:47Cynthia Ruiz Lopez: Yeah.
- 53:48Carmen Lezeth: Oh well, have fun.
- 53:48Carmen Lezeth: That sounds like a lot of fun.
- 53:52Alma Dawson: You know a lot of them.
- 53:53Alma Dawson: They've never been, so it's a good time.
- 53:56Carmen Lezeth: No, it's a great time, Rick.
- 53:58Carmen Lezeth: What you doing?
- 53:59Carmen Lezeth: Any big plans this weekend?
- 54:00Carmen Lezeth: You watching 9-1-1?
- 54:01Carmen Lezeth: .
- 54:03Rick Costa: Hopefully catching up on a lot of sleep.
- 54:04Carmen Lezeth: And this Is Us.
- 54:07Rick Costa: And perhaps this Is Us.
- 54:09Rick Costa: This Is Us intrigues me a little bit more than 9-1-1, to be honest, I promise you, rick, I think you're going to like it.
