- 0:00SPEAKER_00: My mother was really great at meeting my physical and material needs.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: And she was really good at teaching us to be responsible, like making sure we had a good education.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: We were involved in all these extracurricular activities.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: But emotionally, she was just completely unavailable.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: And on top of that, she didn't balance her like punishment with unconditional love and acceptance.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: So I felt very judged by her all the time.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And it made it really hard for me to feel secure with myself.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: It made it hard for me to form close relationships with other women as I got older.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: It would just take me a long time to trust and get close to women because I felt such a low sense of myself.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I entered into relationships with men where my most traumatic relationship with my ex-husband was just like a very that dynamic, it was just a very extreme version of my relationship with my mother where there was just like a lot of gaslighting.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: I never felt like my voice mattered growing up.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: My name is Elise Bassine, spiritual mentor, breathwork practitioner, and owner and CEO of Elise Breeds.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are, and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising consciousness and creating a new way of living on this earth.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Get ready to go deep.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Now let's dive in.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Please excuse my raspy voice.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: We all have a little bit of a cold and cough in my house.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: So this week's episode, I'm so excited about because I have another metamorphosis method certification grad on the show.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: And I just love her story because it's very close to home for me.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Because this week you're going to meet Elsha and she worked in education and then she also became a therapist, which is obviously very similar to my story, which I think is why she resonated with my work, along with obviously just my work in general.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: And you'll hear about that on the show.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: But she went through the certification actually in the first round.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: And then it took her a little while to, you know, really dive into starting her business.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: And now I'm working with her privately to help her, you know, grow her business.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: But it was really interesting because we ended up reconnecting over the summer and I had the metamorphosis starting.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: And I was like, hey, why don't you come into the metamorphosis?
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: And then when she came into the metamorphosis, she was like, okay, I'm really ready now to press the gas pedal on my business.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And then we started working together privately after that for me to support her and getting things really going.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I'm just really excited for her and excited for the work that she's bringing forward because I think she's done a beautiful job.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: All of the certification grads of taking the tools that you learn in the certification and making them her own, you know, and you'll hear her share that she struggled with debilitating anxiety and other issues that she just didn't understand why she was struggling with them and where they were coming from.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, throughout the course of the program, she was able to not only understand where they were coming from, but really shift it.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, over time really shift her fear of being seen and her, you know, self-doubt.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: And now, you know, she is fully confident in her abilities.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: She's working with clients on her own.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: You know, she was in the therapy world and she was just like, this is not for me.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: And I have a lot of clients who have felt that way.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: And she's like, I really need to, you know, do something on my own and be able to use all of my gifts and abilities and be free to work with people in the way I want.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: And that's what she's doing now.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: I'm just so excited for her.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: So in this episode, we dive into her story, her experience in the certification, and also her sessions that she's offering now, which are based around, you know, helping people get to the root of their issue, you know, mainly around anxiety or anything that you're struggling with, and then navigating, creating a big shift around it.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: And she's really good at that.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna link all of her stuff below.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Um, and if you feel the pull, definitely get a session with her because I highly recommend it.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: And and most likely as things move forward, it might not be as easy to grab one.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: So I definitely recommend doing that now and checking her out.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: One more thing before I sign off.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I am hosting the QA on Monday for the Metamorphosis Method Certification.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: So if you are interested in learning more about the certification, come onto the call.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: It literally commits you to nothing, it's just a place to hear me talk about it, explain it more deeply, and for you to ask questions.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: And you're welcome to ask any questions that are specific to you and how it could impact or help you specifically, whether you have a business or you're looking to start one, you know, I can explain to you specifically how it could help you and whether or not it would be a good fit for you.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: So um I'm gonna link that below and um definitely sign up for the call.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Even if you feel like I think I want to do that in the future, but maybe not this round, totally fine.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Just come on the call because I have a lot of information I'm gonna share that I think is gonna be really helpful and insightful for you.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: And you'll be able to ask me anything you want.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: So that's gonna be Monday at four Eastern.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: And I will link that below.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And then also please reach out to me if you have any questions about working with me in any capacity.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: I do have a space or maybe two open for private clients right now to work with me privately.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: And that is kind of on a case-by-case basis where I will speak to you about what's going on with you specifically, and then I will create a package for you based on your needs and the amount of time I think it will take for you to get to the goal that you want to get to.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: And then also we have the metamorphosis starting in mid-January.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Right now, we are in early bird pricing.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: So that's$500 off the regular price, which is two, two, two, two.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: So reach out to me to see if that's a fit for you as well.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: But I will say if you have not done it yet, I'm probably gonna say yes because I really truly believe this program is for everyone, especially if you have been in therapy.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, even if you haven't been in therapy, but what I will say is like those eight weeks with me and learning those tools is like going to therapy on steroids and saving yourself probably about a decade of talking about things over and over again.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: No shade to therapists at all.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: There's some that are truly amazing.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: But my whole goal in life is to create very simple and efficient tools to help you create transformation quickly without reliving the past or having to talk about things over and over again.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: So um, if that's something that intrigues you, then reach out to me to chat about coming into that and we can figure out the best way for you to do that.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: So I will leave it there.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Enjoy the episode.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: Hi, everyone.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to the show.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: So I am super excited to introduce you to today's guest, who is a private client of mine now and also went through the metamorphosis method certification and has incredible work that she is doing with clients.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: And I'm so excited for you to hear all about it.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: So today we have Elsha Vasquez on the show.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the show, Elsha.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I'm happy to be here.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I've listened to so many of your parts.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: A dream to be on this one now.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Oh, yay.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: I love that so much.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Why don't you just share a little bit about yourself and your journey and then what drew you to join the certification?
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I feel like I have struggled with depression and anxiety for most of my life, really starting as a middle school teenager and just trying to figure out for years.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: I have a very open mind and I'm willing to try anything.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: And I worked through so much trauma just trying to figure this out on my own.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And then I decided to eventually, through some like pretty significant awakenings, become somebody that wanted to help others heal from their trauma.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: And I somehow happened upon your podcast, I can't remember exactly how, but when I heard you talk about what you do, and the thing that really stood out to me the most was efficiency because I've just spent so many years trying to figure this out.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: And I was now entering a position as a licensed therapist where I was gonna be in front of clients, and I had ideas of different ways I wanted to get specifically trauma healing, because I don't think the training that I received was very extensive at all and really didn't really get into how I learned to heal.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So I decided eventually to just go for it and sign up for your certification.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: And from there, I've just experienced the efficiency of my own healing and now I'm sharing it with others.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: So I actually would love to go back a little bit because there's a couple of things you said that I want to dive into.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna say both of them and then you can decide where you want to go first.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: But when you talk about trying to figure out how to heal your trauma, like I'm curious what that journey was for you.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: And then the other piece I really want to go into because I feel very passionate about this too, is you went to school to be a therapist, and then saying that after your training, you don't really feel like you got the information you needed about trauma, which I find to be like a huge problem just systemically.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: And I agree with you.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: So I want to talk about that too.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: So it took me a long time to decide I even had trauma.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: And I think that's one of the ways the system falls short because just in the larger way that we understand that in society for so long has been in like primarily associated with like veterans, right?
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: And I was a teacher before I decided to change what my purpose is in life.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: And I was teaching at a time when I was around kids with so much trauma, but it wasn't being talked about.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: And I was going through my own trauma of being in an abusive marriage.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: So as a child, I have learned since working with you that I just had all these core wounds from childhood that led me into repeating those patterns in my personal life, primarily in relationships.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: And so I first recommended therapy at 14 years old after running away from home because I just was at such a loss.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: There was so much dysfunction in my home, so much yelling.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: I would just dread coming home every day after school.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And I had so much control placed on me in terms of who my friends were, what interest I had, because it was determined that all of these outside influences were influencing my behavior.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: And so I just really didn't know what else to do about it.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: But it was always just me as the problem.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Like my parents, I love them and I don't blame them.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And I've really have been able to depersonalize their own lack of capacity for what I needed as a child, but they never went through therapy and there was never any conversation.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: And I saw different therapists throughout years, all the way into my adult life and during my marriage, where I really understood that the origin of my trauma had a lot to do with my relationship with my mother.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And so when I came out of my marriage and really started to understand that I was dealing with trauma and figuring out how to heal from it, it still wasn't really talked about in the way that I was experiencing it.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: And so I decided to go back to school.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: I knew I wanted to work with people in this way, but I didn't know how I could legitimize what it is I wanted to do.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: And that was the only way I was introduced to.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: But there was very little that I resonated with because I knew that when I really experienced significant shifts, I started feeling it in my body.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: And that's what I got from massage therapy when I became a massage therapist.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: And I didn't want to talk to a therapist.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: I felt like talk therapy was missing the mark.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: I would be in these sessions with therapists, and eventually I just would stop going because I felt like I was just hearing.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: So this kind of bleeds into the second part.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I just got tired of hearing myself talk.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And then when I heard your podcast, I had learned how to start to regulate my nervous system, but there were still so many triggers happening.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: And I returned to live in my parents' home, and it was just so strong.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: And the idea of breath work was never appealed to me, but because I just felt like it was so hard.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: I felt so many people complicated it, but I also because I had struggled with breathing, and that was very much related to my trauma, where I learned that my immune system had no defense, and I would as early as six months old.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: I got pneumonia and was hospitalized, and I would get bronchitis all the time as a teenager.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: And every time I would get a cold, and it was like constant when I was a teacher and when I was in an abusive relationship, just so much stress.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: I didn't have a voice.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: I wasn't using my voice, and I would get lung infections and lingering coughs.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't until I started to realize all the abuse that I had been subjected to, and I no longer wanted to tolerate that in my life that I really started speaking up for myself using my voice.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: And then when I was introduced to your method, I wanted to figure out a way to work with clients where I knew I couldn't like massage them in the position that I was in that I took to start this work, but I wanted to find something I could give my clients.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: And so I decided to be open to this.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: And in the process, I really was able to heal my mother wound.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: And your breath work method was like so simple that the very first time I experienced it, I did it with myself before I did a partner exchange.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I immediately felt better before I started than after.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: And I could feel all this energy leaving my body.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: I couldn't really pinpoint exactly what it was like related to at that time, but I was like, wow, this is powerful.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: I kind of understand now.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: And so then I was just open to experiencing more and more of that.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: As far as the second question, too, to add on to that, it's just in the larger society, we're just taught so much to externalize and figure out what we can find on the outside of us to help us feel better, or how we can, oh, I just need to change my circumstances.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: But like you don't always have control over all of that.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: It was really learning, and there's this is where the efficiency of your method came in for me.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: You have to go within.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: And that energy and through the breath is like a free and it's like a very ancient tool.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: And it really does release everything that has been stuck inside of you that has built up over the years of just overwhelming amounts of stress that you haven't learned how to process.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: There was no one to really like guide me.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And the talk therapy world would talk about mindfulness-based practices, but it was more like it wasn't like front and center of what they would teach us in this traditional counseling program that I was in.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: I just didn't connect with very much, but I just went through it as I've been so used to going through these hurdles just to do what it is I think I need to do.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: But there was still something missing about that world.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: And then I was in my work with other therapists and my supervisor, and I felt like that a lot of therapists would hop out to like, well, if we can't figure out how to help our clients, then we can recommend medication, which isn't even actually, we're not psychiatrists.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: So we're technically aren't required to diagnose or recommend those types of things unless we're working with insurance.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: We have to come up with those labels.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: And that also I don't find, I just saw all of these different labels and listening to different people who would speak in my classes where it was just all a manifestation of trauma that would come out in these various symptoms that then created these labels that would then like justify insurance paying for their treatment and then the medication, and people still weren't getting better from what I saw.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: And that was my experience, my personal experience too, is I've gone that down that path in the past.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I I totally agree.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: And I had a similar experience working in the schools as a school counselor too, because working with kids, and it's like, oh, everyone has ADHD and everybody has behavior problems.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: And it's like, why aren't we trying to figure out why?
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Like we're just like trying to like, oh, we'll give you a star if you behave good.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: And then if you get five stars at the end of the week, you get like a recess or a fucking treat or whatever.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: And it's just like, how is this helping?
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And those things would help for two weeks, and then the kid would be right back to the same behavior.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: You were a teacher.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: So like I saw this all the time.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is not working.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: And I would get so frustrated constantly being in meetings talking about these kids.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: And it's just there's obviously all of these underlying things that no one is talking about.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: And like I worked, I know I've told you, in the community with all Puerto Rican and Dominican families, and a lot of them were first generation, and there was a lot of them that would send kids over here where like the dad was here and the mom was still in Puerto Rico, and the kid like missed his mom, and no one's talking about it.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, we just have to give him ADHD medication, or we have to like do something about his behavior, but no one's addressing the actual reason why.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: And I think that that is to me, it's like a no-brainer.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't understand why we wouldn't do that, but I know there's a lot of other reasons why systemically they don't want us to do that.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: So I think that it's so important because I know that there's so many people that like have issues and then they seek out therapy and then they end up just going in circles.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: And again, this is not to talk shit about therapists, because I there's a lot of therapists who do a lot of amazing work.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: But the reason why those therapists do a lot of amazing work is because they took the initiative to figure out how to effectively work with people.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: It's not because they got trained by their school and how to effectively work with people.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: Because I remember going through school and being like, okay, so they're teaching us these different like theories of approaches, which largely don't work, by the way.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Like cognitive behavioral therapy has been a failure in a lot of ways.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: It doesn't really create results because when you're just trying to change a behavior, again, it's going back to the kid with the behavior chart.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Like it doesn't work.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: So we have to get to the reason why.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: So anyway, I think that's just important to like address.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: And I know that it's part of your story.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: And I will say too that I have a lot of clients who are therapists and moving from therapy to starting their own business, but like that's a great jumping off point.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: And I do think there's a place for that as far as like being in that world, because I think you learn so much about what the problem is, so that you can create a solution to that.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: And I think that's like where I was coming from with my work, and I know where you're coming from with your work.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: So I'd love to talk to you a little more about the mother wound stuff, because I know that was such a big thing for you.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: And before we get into like your experience.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: In the certification.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: And I know this is part of it, but what were some of the biggest ahas for you just around like realizing that your relationship with your mother was actually like the core wound that was causing everything else?
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: My mother was really great at meeting my physical and material needs.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: And she was the kind of mom that would get up in the middle of the night whenever I was sick coughing.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: And she was really good at teaching us to be responsible, like making sure we had a good education.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: We were involved in all these extracurricular activities.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: But emotionally, she was just completely unavailable.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: And on top of that, she didn't balance her like punishment with unconditional love and acceptance.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: And so I felt very judged by her all the time.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: And it made it really hard for me to feel secure with myself.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: It made it hard for me to form close relationships with other women as I got older.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: It would just take me a long time to trust and get close to women because I felt such a low sense of myself.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: I entered into relationships with men where my most traumatic relationship with my ex-husband was just like a very that dynamic, it was just a very extreme version of my relationship with my mother, where there was just like a lot of gaslighting, just like a very rigid person.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: I never felt like my voice mattered growing up, like I was ever really heard.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: So when I returned to my parents' home, my parents are retired and my father has dementia, and my mother is his caregiver.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: And it's really like a win-win for all of us.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Me being here, my daughter is able to go to a good school.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: It's very safe here.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: And I can help my mom and she can help me.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: And they've been together for over 50 years now and they're just always yelling at each other.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: And I understand the exhaustion that my mother is under with caring for my father who has dementia, but it was just so triggering and so uncomfortable for me because it just reminded me of what I grew up with.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: And so when I started the certification with you and I brought that up in one of the group sessions, you're like, oh, this is perfect.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: This is mean this is gonna happen for you faster.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: And I was like, what is she talking about?
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: This just feels worse.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Like at least when I was-I say I feel like people get so mad at me because every time they're like, This horrible thing happened, and I'm like, oh my god, this is perfect.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: It was like I couldn't understand what you meant by that because I just felt like set back because I'd been living away from them for over 20 years and away from them, not even just not being in their home, but like I was a seven, eight-hour drive away and for over 20 years.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: And and I remember whenever I'd visit, like the first if I was here for a longer period of time, like the first four days would be great.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: And then after that, it would just remind me I need to get back to where I can experience peace again.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: But as I decided to continue, because like I said, I have such an open mind, I will try anything if it works.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: I don't like being stuck.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: And I just gradually lifted so much of the anxiety to where, and then I even would in a little stupid argument that her and I would have, and I recognized how she would like, she would call me names and put me down and like how this was just something I grew up with that was like so normal for me.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that there was like that that wasn't okay.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And I would just tell her, I would like, that's not true.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: You can't call me that.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: And she actually stopped doing that.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: And I would point out how I was, I would come to her defense a lot when I felt like she wasn't treated right by my father or my sister, who has a lot of like very serious psychological issues too.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And then now that I'm when I'm around it, because I'm still here, it's not like their relationship has changed.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: It's not like they're relating to each other differently.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: I don't feel the same sting internally that I felt.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: And I just recognize like everyone's on their own journey.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: I see them as like newer souls, like children.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: So they're just like not as far along on their path.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: And I think a lot of times people like us are placed in dysfunctional families because we get there faster.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: We move through like our karma and like our soul's purpose faster.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: So that idea really helped me understand rather than blame this position and just be such in this like victim consciousness of this isn't fair.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: Why was I granted this?
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: Why do other people not have these things?
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: And and for a long time, I think I denied that any of that even existed for me because I grew up in a very comfortable middle class family, like on the outside.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Like, what do I have?
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: And I was teaching children in similar environments to you, immigrant, like mostly Mexican community, where yeah, a lot of their parents might have come here first, or there was just a lot that they were struggling with that I didn't have that same experience, even though I do have similar ancestry.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: And then it just started to make so much sense of how also how generational and ancestral trauma gets passed down and diving deep into that.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: And so this experience of working through the mother wound and the father wound too helped me see how real that is and how deep it goes.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: That again, the traditional counseling world does not, there's no conversation about that in that world, but it's something that's very real that I've experienced.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: And now clients that I'm working with one-on-one, I can share those ideas with them and they connect with it because they see it and feel it too.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you for sharing all that.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: There's a lot you said that I want to like go into.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: The first thing is I just want to say, I think it's so common for so many of the women I work with, and it was true for me too, to think that you don't have trauma necessarily.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: Cause especially if you work with the populations like we worked with and people struggling in very different ways, and you never had to worry about having a roof over your head or having food and that type of thing, you think I didn't have it that bad.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: And you, I cannot even tell you the amount of women who say to me, like, I shouldn't be complaining, like I had a good life, right?
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: And while that might be true, like that you had a good life, like my parents are amazing people.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: They gave me everything that they possibly could.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: But again, your parents give you what they have the capacity for, right?
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: And they they can't give you what they didn't get.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: And I think that that is a huge misconception because there's a lot of like emotional needs that we have and the need for someone to be present with you and someone to be attuned to you, and someone not to dump their trauma on you.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: Because I think that unknowingly, a lot of our parents did that.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: And I honestly have not worked with one woman that didn't have some sort of experience of their parent trauma getting passed on to them, or that they just took it on unconsciously.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: And I think it's just a really important conversation because A, it's something that is not always seen just in general, right?
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: And then two, when it comes to the therapy and counseling world, it doesn't really get addressed.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: And what most counselors or therapists will address is just like the situation, right?
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: So say you come to me and you're like, oh, I'm living with my parents and me and my mom, I don't like the way she talks to me.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: Their solution would be like, okay, we have to like have a conversation with her and tell her she can't talk to you that way.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: And it's okay, great, but that's actually not solving the problem, right?
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: It's not addressing why this happens because exactly what you illustrated is that once you did this deeper work, you still could be around your mom who did not change, but it's not affecting you the same way because you've addressed it within yourself.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: And I think that's the difference that is not always easy for people to understand.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: So I think that's really important too.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: Not only is that the difference, but then that gives you your power back because you're not like outsourcing it to something else, or it's not dependent on somebody else's, like where they are in their growth.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: And that is nothing in the traditional therapy world gives you that.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: And like you said, there's a lot of individual great therapists out there, but then there's like a lot that don't and have not experienced that for themselves.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: And you can't really learn that from just like reading about different counseling theories.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: You have to experience it for yourself.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: You have to.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: And that's why, with the certification, like you have to go through the metamorphosis.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: And I always say to people, too, like, a therapist is only gonna have the capacity to take you to where they've gone themselves.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: If they haven't gone there themselves, then they're not gonna be able to take you there.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: So that is such an important piece, too, that you don't learn that either as like a counselor or a therapist.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: And that's why for me, it's so important for everybody that goes through the certification to do this deeper work on themselves, because if there's no way you could work with clients effectively if you don't.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Okay, so let's go into a little bit of just the actual certification and like my favorite piece around the certification to talk about is the exchanges, because I think that's where you really start to see yourself as able to really do this work.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: What was your experience with that kind of going in and then how that developed throughout the time?
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: The first time I did it, again, it was a couple of years ago now.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: So my memory is a little bit fuzzy, but I do remember each of the women that I exchanged with.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: For one, when I experienced it, that was easy.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: I could just let go and let somebody else guide me.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: So I think I always let the other person go first because when I started, I just was like, what do I even say?
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: I've never done this before.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: But there was always each one of the exchanges with the different women that I exchanged with, there was always something that we both connected with similarly.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: So that was pretty incredible.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: And it was different things with each person.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: And even though I didn't feel like I knew what I was doing when I first started and I was leading them, they always benefited afterwards as well.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: So it's like, and you would talk about it's whatever is supposed to happen is gonna happen.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: You can't do anything wrong.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: It's really you're accessing your subconscious, and that knows the truth, and it knows exactly what needs to happen in that time and won't give you more than you're ready to process.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: And so that was really just like experiencing the benefit of that and practicing it with others, then started to build my confidence and to the point where now it's because I've done it so much with myself and with others.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: It's like it just comes at it as it comes, it's just feels more natural.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: I don't get nervous anymore.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: And I know like the power of it and what it does for others.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: It was really necessary to have that process and in a container where it was safe.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Nobody is like paying me to do this.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: We're all here learning together.
- 33:50SPEAKER_00: And so that was like such valuable training.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: It's so funny because I think it's so valuable to just throw everyone into the fire, like after the first calls.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, go to your exchanges.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: And this time around, because I know you were in the first round, the second round, the ladies were like, wait, what, what they they like freaked out a little more than you guys did.
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: And not freaked out, but they just were like asking a lot more questions.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: What do I do?
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: Because I actually think it's valuable to just be like, go do it and let you figure it out, like sink or swim kind of thing.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: But because they were asking so many questions, I ended up making, like, if you go into the certification backend now in Teachable, I made like a whole list of everything to say, all different prompts to say, like during a breath work session, like what to say in the beginning, what to say in the middle, which is actually a really great resource to have.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: But it was just yeah, yeah.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: But it was just funny because it is something where even if you're prepared to the most, you still have to just kind of like jump in.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: But then you really start to see, oh wow, like I can do this.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: And this person is going to have an amazing experience.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: Like whether or not I feel confident in myself or not, then you start to get more and more comfortable, and then you start to kind of like make the tools your own.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: So, like I want to talk about that a little bit too.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: Cause I think one of my main things about the certification is like, I don't want anyone to just do what I do.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: Like, I want you to learn this knowledge and and have this really deep understanding of the tools and then make them into your own thing, right?
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: And so, like for you, what did that look like for you or how has that continued to evolve?
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: So, first it was really helpful because it was so new for me when I was trying to implement it with clients to have that foundation and that framework to follow.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: And it's still evolving, but now I'm at the point where I can have one conversation with clients and I can really pinpoint exactly what they're stuck with, which wound is coming up for them, or how many of the different wounds are showing themselves to with my client.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: And so the conversation just really flows more naturally.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: And when I lead clients in the breath work, I think I have learned through my own healing how to nurture my own intuition.
- 36:33SPEAKER_00: And then the knowledge and the training and the education fortifies that.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: So when I'm in sessions with people, I'm just very connected to what's going on with them in the moment.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: And I can really guide them through what they're feeling and what they need specifically in that moment.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: And also because I work so much with people's bodies and have been doing when I work in person with people, when I'm able to do that because of my massage practice, which has been come before this practice, I can see when clients' bodies have trouble releasing things.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And and I've even had certain clients tell me that once they started, because you get to, if you have regular repeat clients, you get to know them, you form a relationship.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: When they start working on their own internal stuff, primarily wounds from their childhood, their bodies start to feel better.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: So I know that it's not a separate thing.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: There's so many like body workers out there that focus just like on the physical and they do great work.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: But I do come across a lot of people where it just won't release.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: And I know it's related to this deeper wounding.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: So I'm really able to use these tools without having to follow a sequence like how we learned, but being able to grab directly from those things and then insert my own experience and my own ideas of other things that I've benefited from to just create this like very holistic approach to working with clients.
- 38:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's amazing.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: And I think what you're saying about the body is so true.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: I've seen it over and over again with people where when we're working through some deeper stuff, there'll be something physical that happens that just is a representation of that.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: And I've seen it for myself too.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: Like whenever I am working through something really deep, or I have something really big moving through and coming up, there'll be some kind of physical thing going on, whether it's like I have a mouth sore or like my lower back will start hurting, or sometimes I get, you can't really see it now, but like wherever like my rings are on my fingers, they'll start to get all like irritated and I'll have to take them off.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: Like just random stuff like that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: I feel, and it typically for me, it's never anything huge because I usually address things and like for people who have chronic pain, it's usually it's a bigger thing that's not being addressed.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: But I feel like there's always, always, always, always an emotional component to any physical symptom.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it takes the mystery out of what is going on with your body.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: So I'm able to provide that education for clients too, because I have learned a lot about the body, because so many people, there's like this fear around what's happening in their body because they don't understand those deeper connections and even like how the body is put together and how things work together in your system, and they disassociate.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: And then if they're dysregulated, it makes it harder to heal.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: So just like this breathwork practice really meets the needs of all of that stuff because it helps you regulate and release and really connect to the signals and the information that your body is sending you and not just being in your head about it, which I think talk therapy keeps you in your head a lot.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: And then you're just like, why am I not making progress?
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: Why am I not feeling better?
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: What else am I missing?
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because it's only one component.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: And that's why I think it's so important to address, like I always say, like we address the mind, but we also have to address the body and like the energy field in order to for something to fully shift.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: Because I think with therapy, what can happen is you just keep talking about things, but you're not actually like releasing it from the body and from the energy field.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: There's not that full shift, like that permanent shift.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: So it's so important to have that.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: There was a couple other things I just wanted to talk about too, like the element of just like working with clients in general, because I feel like, again, there's so much that another reason why I think doing the metamorphosis tools to get certified is so important, is because one of the things that I see as a major problem, not only in the therapy and counseling world, but also the coaching world, is people not doing deeper work.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: So when they work with clients, they don't know how to separate their stuff from the client, or they end up projecting on to their client because they don't know that they're projecting, they don't know what projection is, and they end up getting triggered.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: Both people can get triggered by each other and re-traumatize each other because they don't have an awareness of their childhood trauma.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: So I love to hear just how you feel like the certification helped you just be able to hold that clean and clear energy for your clients because I know that you you are really good at that.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: And I think to me, that's just it's so important to me.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: And the training that I received from my schooling, they would call that like counter-transference.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: So there was almost like that awareness that that could happen.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: But when you talk about it, I can recognize how I could have been subject to some projecting and how in the beginning, when I even started working with clients in like the traditional counseling position, I guess I never really judged people for where they were at, but I wanted people to move faster, right?
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: Wanted people to like take more responsibility for okay, so but most people are projecting on each other all the time, even when you're not in those sessions.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: And like when you work with couples, like that's all they're doing.
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: If they're working, that's why I just didn't really like that work because unless you guys can understand how to work on yourselves individually, it doesn't matter how many different ways I try to help you frame conversations and help your communication or what your needs are and what your um love languages you don't see that you are projecting onto your partner based on your original wounding, then it's not really gonna sustain itself and not a lot of change is gonna happen.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: And there isn't really a very high success rate in helping those relationships because of that.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: So because I just am so in tune and aware with when my own stuff comes up through this process, it really helps you connect with yourself on a very deep level.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: And I always look there first that it feels very easy for me to hold space because I can see, I'm not, it's not a projection, but I can see myself in their struggles.
- 43:23SPEAKER_00: The details might be different, but the process and who we are inherently and how we heal and going within is really the same.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot in the traditional therapy world that don't believe in that idea.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: There's some people that say, I can't know, I can't know what this, but I'm like, you can, because this is really just how it works.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: So it's it's just a shift from I'm not going to take anything personally about how this client is showing up with what it is I'm offering them, but I can see myself in their struggles and I can help guide them in the same way that I've learned that.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: From you to where to go next and really be patient with their process as well.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: Yes, I think that's so important.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: I think that was like for me when I first started working with like adults versus children, I think that was one of the biggest things that I struggled with too was like wanting people to move faster, especially when you can see their potential and you can see like what they could do.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: And then you're like wanting to push them along faster.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: But and I actually learned this too through my own evolution in my business and in my work, is I I slowly learned that every time I tried to push myself faster, it always fell flat.
- 44:43SPEAKER_01: Like every time I was like, okay, I should be here.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna push myself to do this thing.
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: And it's I wasn't quite ready to do that.
- 44:50SPEAKER_01: And then it like didn't make sense.
- 44:52SPEAKER_01: And while I do feel that like pushing yourself forward to continue to grow is really important, I also feel that if you push yourself to do something before you're ready, it never works out anyway.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: And then I learned that with my clients too, allowing them to be in their process and not having and just being completely neutral about the process itself and how long it takes is incredibly important because like now that I have some clients that I've been working with for two or three years, and I look back on the trajectory and I look at where they were then and where they are now and the huge like transformation that they've created.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: And it's yeah, like when you play the long game and you continue to do the work, you're gonna evolve in the way you're meant to evolve.
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: But there's no point in like pushing it.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: And I think that that can come from sometimes of just wanting someone to to grow because you know you can help them.
- 45:49SPEAKER_01: And also I think sometimes it can come from wanting them to get a result or wanting them to be happy with the work or get what they came for.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: And that's the thing about this work is I can always tell someone, like, if you keep going, like we will get there.
- 46:08SPEAKER_01: Like, can I tell you how long it's gonna take?
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: No, because I don't know how long it's gonna take, but I know you can do it.
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: When you do that, you have this confidence because you do trust the process.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: So it's easier to just kind of relax and go alongside them.
- 46:25SPEAKER_00: I know I haven't experienced results when I felt like somebody wanted me to do something that I just wasn't feeling ready for or wasn't connecting with.
- 46:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I mean I always say this just about business.
- 46:38SPEAKER_01: There were so many things I did in the beginning because I thought that's what I was supposed to do.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: Well, all successful businesses have this, and then I try to do it and it's it fell flat because I just wasn't ready.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: I just wasn't there yet.
- 46:52SPEAKER_01: And you have to just let yourself get to when you're ready, you know, and everyone's different with that.
- 46:58SPEAKER_01: But yeah, so I think that's also just very important, you know, when working with clients too.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: So I want to also go into just like the way that you've evolved, how you work with clients and specifically like what you're focusing on now, you know, based on this whole evolution that you've gone through.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: I was forced out of my counseling position, and I think it was more like the universe doing that for me because that happens to everybody I work with, by the way.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: I had the intention to do this all along at a time that I wanted to start doing it, but then I just wasn't having the energy for it, and all of this resentment was being built up inside of me to finally I got to the point where the day that I didn't even realize I had to keep renewing the license that I had.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: I thought I was good, and I get this email.
- 47:48SPEAKER_00: And on the day that it expired, I tried to do it really quickly, but I didn't quite understand all the requirements.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: And eventually I had to resign because everything was taking a long time.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: And so it really opened up the space that I wanted to have and the energy I wanted to have to make this happen.
- 48:06SPEAKER_00: And that lined you reached out to me, and I had always wanted to work with you directly, and so I did the mini morphosis and went through some other shifts, like major shifts, actually, that I didn't even know I needed to go through.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: They just happened.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: And then I signed up with you privately, which I always wanted to do, but I was always like, I just need to wait until I have A, B, C, or D, whatever excuse I was making.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: And so now, first of all, when I left that position and I reached out to a lot of my clients, it was really shitty the way it had to happen because I was completely locked out of the system.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: And I, they were gonna be the ones that were gonna communicate and offer them to transfer to a different therapist.
- 48:47SPEAKER_00: And I understand why, as a business, you have to do that and being compliant with licensure and all that stuff.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: But on a human level, it was just shitty because you build these relationships with people who already have trouble trusting, and then you're not even gonna let me have a conversation and explain the reason for what happened.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: So I did reach out to my clients because I did want them to be aware of it.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: People are gonna make up their own stories and fill things in, and I just wanted them to have the information.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: And that part was very validating because every single one of them really, it just I just needed to know that I was making a difference because I was still struggling with my confidence.
- 49:30SPEAKER_00: And when I would meet in session with clients, I would still second guess myself.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: So from there, I don't do that anymore when I'm with clients.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: And now I feel like I can help people move faster because I can get straight to the point of what is going on with them.
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: And so it all goes back to childhood and not everybody wants to go back.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, not everybody, but that's also why I like the way I'm working with people because I don't believe, and I started to form this belief already, that you don't have to revisit every detail of everything that has happened to you by being able to work somatically with people.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: And when you're working online, breath work is a way that I can do that without actually having to have this body in front of me.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: They can just let go and trust that whatever is going to happen is meant to happen.
- 50:27SPEAKER_00: And I'm holding space for that.
- 50:29SPEAKER_00: And I, because I've experienced that for myself, I can again understand what it is they need and how to guide them through that.
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: They move through it so much faster rather than having to have, okay, this happened to me when I was 10.
- 50:46SPEAKER_00: And they bring up what they want to talk about because they start trusting you and they start feeling better and they start to want to open up more.
- 50:54SPEAKER_00: And they don't necessarily have to carry.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's gonna continue to be processing that is going to happen outside of sessions.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: 100% that will continue to happen.
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: But it's not in, it doesn't seem to happen in a way where it completely overtakes their life and sets them into this deep depression and they get stuck and then they have to like wait until they like see you again to reach out and figure this out.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: So I think it's just more of a natural flow for me when I'm with clients rather than I was so um trained as a teacher, and this is just my personality, very type A, where I have to prepare, I have to have all these notes, I have to have something to say, and I don't do that anymore.
- 51:40SPEAKER_00: I'm just present.
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: And so, in the same way that I'm present when I'm doing my experiencing my own healing with exchanges with the certification that I experienced, and then doing it for myself when it comes up.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: And when you kind of like pointed me in the direction, we'll try this, and I do that, and I'm just present with whatever needs to happen, it just happens, and that's the same thing that I am able to transfer onto my work with clients the same way I work with.
- 52:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's amazing because it sounds like what's happened too is like you have taken everything and integrated it into your being.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: And because you have done the work, you're like embodied in it.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: So you don't have to think about it.
- 52:23SPEAKER_01: It's just there and you can just trust yourself enough.
- 52:26SPEAKER_01: And then also I think that probably leads into the confidence piece too.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: Cause I think this is something that so many women struggle with is just like the confidence around not only working with people, but like putting yourself out there and being seen.
- 52:40SPEAKER_01: And I know you had a huge shift around that too.
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: So let's talk about that a little bit before we go into like exactly what you're doing with clients now.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, almost a year ago, I signed up for a coaching container with two other women.
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: And one of them was this bioenergetic practitioner that I work with to heal a lot of gut stuff.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: And then that's let led me into being trained into helping others try an ancestral diet to help nervous system regulation and being in the mental health world where so many people are on psych meds, and if they want to get off of them, it's a really effective way of doing that and preparing people's bodies for that.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: Anyway, that was a little bit of a tangent, but she presented it to me and I was like, okay, this is an opportunity.
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: Maybe that means something.
- 53:30SPEAKER_00: And it was at a time when I did want to start making this happen, like my own timeline in my head.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: So I just decided to go for it.
- 53:36SPEAKER_00: But I was so scared.
- 53:39SPEAKER_00: Like I was so scared to create an Instagram page.
- 53:44SPEAKER_00: I have my own personal page, right?
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: So it's not like I'm not on Instagram and like doing all those things just on a personal level, and whoever like is attracted to it is attracted to it, but I'm not feeling like worried about who's gonna be interested or not.
- 53:59SPEAKER_00: It's just personal.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: But then moving into doing something like that, and what are people gonna think about me and recommendations of how I can go try to make this happen out in the world?
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: Like, who's gonna want that from me?
- 54:14SPEAKER_00: I just had so much self-doubt.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: And so I didn't really take a lot of action.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: I was really struggling during that container.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: And then starting at the beginning of kind of summer, ramping up for summer, I started experiencing some energy healing.
- 54:32SPEAKER_00: And then I started doing more breath work.
- 54:36SPEAKER_00: I like to be led.
- 54:37SPEAKER_00: So I found this one app that I really liked.
- 54:40SPEAKER_00: And I would still do some of yours as well because I like the being led part.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: And I surprisingly just experienced this really profound shift around the closure of a past relationship that was like the only safe relationship I've felt safe in in my life, like a romantic relationship.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: And I was so surprised that I even needed to do that because with everything that I had been through and all the trauma and struggle that I've had in relationships in my adult life, not once did it occur to me that I missed this person.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: And when that cleared in my system, I just felt like all of the other like self-doubt.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: I don't know, it's hard to say specifically to give you words for how it was linked, but all of a sudden I just felt like I'm not afraid anymore to bring my work out into the world.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: I have all these external pieces of evidence that I'm doing good work, but I didn't believe it internally for myself yet.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: And so when I cleared that, because I guess this is how it's specifically linked and how what you've talked to me about in the last week in our conversations in the private container, I started to feel safe to do this.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: So I was remembering that sense of safety and that reminder that I am worthy of this, that I do deserve to feel safe.
- 56:10SPEAKER_00: So now that I feel safe, I'm not as concerned about what other people are going to think about it.
- 56:17SPEAKER_00: And I am just here to make myself seen for the people that need to find me.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: So that was just a huge shift.
- 56:24SPEAKER_00: And then I was ready to move forward with working one-on-one with you.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: And I keep bumping up with these things that happen in my personal life that start to interfere with my business.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: And so I'm getting that emotional support to move through it, shift it, and then get back to the different tasks.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, would I like certain things to happen faster at times, but it's all part of the process.
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: So I have much more a sense of calm and balance and trust in this process.
- 56:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's been incredible.
- 56:52SPEAKER_01: I feel like watching you go through the process.
- 56:55SPEAKER_01: And it's such a just so what we were talking about before about allowing things to unfold and evolve.
- 57:01SPEAKER_01: You went through the certification in 2022.
- 57:03SPEAKER_01: And now you're like at the point where you're like, okay, I'm ready.
- 57:06SPEAKER_01: If you would have tried to force yourself at a time where you weren't ready, it probably wouldn't have worked out or you would have gotten burned out or whatever.
- 57:14SPEAKER_01: So now it's just been incredible to kind of like support you in going through this process.
- 57:19SPEAKER_01: And when stuff comes up, you know how to support yourself.
- 57:23SPEAKER_01: And through me supporting you, it's just going so fast.
- 57:26SPEAKER_01: Like literally, you have something come up and it's less than a day and it's okay, I moved through that, I'm back on the horse.
- 57:32SPEAKER_01: That's how to how to do it.
- 57:34SPEAKER_01: So I know we don't have a lot more time, but I'd love for you to share too.
- 57:37SPEAKER_01: Just like I know you've been focusing a lot now on anxiety and working with clients specifically around helping them clear that.
- 57:45SPEAKER_01: So let's talk about that a little bit, and then you can share if people want to do one of those sessions and how they can find you.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: I've experienced depression, a lot of depression and anxiety in my life, but I'm somebody that's like more in that like sympathetic side of my nervous system and always in this like fight or flight and struggle with anxiety and it affects my sleep.
- 58:06SPEAKER_00: And I understand where that originated from.
- 58:10SPEAKER_00: So I am offering sort of these one-off sessions to start to introduce people to their work with me where I can really pinpoint what is the root of clients' anxiety.
- 58:26SPEAKER_00: So give them that information, like this is the wound that we want to look at, and this is the tool that I can give you to start to begin to heal that for yourself.
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: And then I do have like long-term packages where I follow a lot of your framework and go through all the different core wounds for people, because it's not always just one thing, too.
- 58:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it evolves.
- 58:52SPEAKER_01: And I just want to say too, like the importance of what you're talking about with the anxiety stuff, like just to kind of like bring it all full circle is these like diagnosis that like we learn in the therapy world of like, oh, you just have like general anxiety and why.
- 59:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:10SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 59:10SPEAKER_01: It's not like you're just born with anxiety.
- 59:13SPEAKER_01: There's a reason why you have it.
- 59:14SPEAKER_01: And I think that's what's so great about what you're doing, is you're not just helping someone cope with their anxiety.
- 59:21SPEAKER_01: You're like helping them see why they have it and then how to dissolve it.
- 59:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because as people think there's something wrong with them and they don't understand where it comes from.
- 59:32SPEAKER_00: And I just have to learn how to manage it and I just have to accept it, and that's it.
- 59:37SPEAKER_00: No, that's not the end of the story, and it wasn't the end of the story for me.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: It's so uncomfortable.
- 59:42SPEAKER_00: Like we don't have to learn to manage it for the rest of our lives.
- 59:45SPEAKER_00: And when it does come up, then you know exactly where it's coming from.
- 59:50SPEAKER_00: You can start to learn to become your own healer.
- 59:52SPEAKER_00: That's my big thing.
- 59:53SPEAKER_00: I want people to become their own healer.
- 59:56SPEAKER_00: And obviously, people won't seek help or support if they know how to do that.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_00: So that's what I'm here for.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_00: I see myself as a facilitator for that process for people.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: And that's what I've wanted for so many years in talk therapy that I wasn't getting.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_00: So I really am able to help them identify specifically, and then they can sit with that and I can help them.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_00: I will offer like 20 minutes of breath work in a session so they can experience it.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_00: And then I, if I'm working more long-term, then we just continue to go deeper.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_00: And, you know, I do work in person with people locally, so that's been around a lot of my massage stuff.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_00: But a lot of those clients have also been interested in working more holistically to heal like their trauma from their childhood.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_00: And even if people don't feel ready to get into that stuff, that is also a way where they can learn to feel better in their bodies.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_00: And then this like ancestral eating protocol that's really just meant to be a one-time thing in their life.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_00: So that's like a low-level way of working with me if you don't feel ready.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_00: Because inevitably, when you do something like that, stuff does come up.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_00: And then I'm also there to support people.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_00: So those are that's a more longer-term way to work with me, but not as long as working through the metamorphosis stuff, training the certification stuff that I share with clients.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_00: So I have kind of like these one-off sessions that I can offer to get clients started if they want to start to experience the benefits of learning this core wound healing and where the origins of their struggles come from.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_00: And then I have these like longer packages, one like a mid-length type of thing that is not as big of a commitment with this ancestral eating protocol.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_00: And then another where if you do are ready to go deeper, then I have like more long-term packages for clients.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I think that sometimes if people aren't, because sometimes people are like, okay, I just want to feel better.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: And I think that there's such a spectrum, right, of like how we can feel better.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_01: Cause I think what happens is like anyone can use a tool like breathwork and start to feel better, and that's amazing.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_01: And they'll be like, oh my gosh, I feel so much better.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_01: But then eventually you want to get from the point where you're just like managing symptoms or coping symptoms to actually like healing them.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: And I think that can be a process for people and that's okay.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_01: But I think based on everything you have to share, like you can just meet people where they're at because a tool like like breathwork does meet someone where they're at, even if you just want I always say to people, if all you want is to sleep better, like it'll help you sleep better.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_01: And then you go down the path if you want to take it further.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_01: So that's why it's so great.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: So thank you for sharing all of that.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_01: And also we'll link it below, but can you share where people can find you also?
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so right now my main place is my Instagram page at Soul Compass2024.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_00: And my name is Elsha Vasquez, and that appears on my Instagram page at SoulCompass2024.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_00: I have a booking link on that page as well.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_00: And so I have, I think, about five different ways you can book with me on that link.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_00: Two of them are in person if you are local to me.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_00: And then that has to do with massage therapy, but where I integrate it's more working somatically with people around trauma for those types of sessions, as well as you can always book a free discovery call if you want to find out what your options are and how you can work with me and what you might be ready for, as well as like the one-off sessions and then the longer package for around the metamorphosis certification for people who want to go deeper.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_00: I haven't quite put anything up around this like ancestral eating protocol because I'm really trying to start off more simply and expand that.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_00: But like I said, with Discovery Calls, we can always like chat about what it is you're struggling with and what might work best for you.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_01: That sounds incredible.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: And we'll link all that stuff below.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for sharing everything and for being here.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_01: And one last question I just wanted to ask you before we wrap up.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: Like, to anyone thinking about joining the certification, like what would you say to them?
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_00: I would say if you feel like there's something missing in your practice, then go for it because this is really gonna help you identify how you can help clients move through their stuff, like with whatever it is you're doing.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_00: It's going to marry whatever blocks they might be having or you might be having in your work with clients and move actually, like you said, efficiently through your work with yourself, around working with clients, and how you relate to your clients to give them exactly what they need.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_00: It's just truth.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_00: So I would say just go for it because it's a worthy investment.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_00: I was surprised, actually.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_00: I was ready to try something right and have a tool to go into my work with clients, but I was really surprised about how effective it has become.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_00: I was very much a doubter about breath work in general.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: I wasn't attracted to it at all.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_01: So oh, I love that.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_01: That's really good.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_01: I always joke, I don't even like it that much either.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_01: It just works really well.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_01: Like I never like am so excited to do it or anything, but it just it's very effective.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: So I love that you share that.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_01: And thank you for being here.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for having me.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate you taking the time to have me on this.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_00: Of course, thank you.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for being here.
