- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, hidey-ho, 3.06 in the afternoon on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 0:10Speaker 1: And, Ron Verb, welcome. Good afternoon.
- 0:12Speaker 2: What a lovely day we have going. I mean, just
- 0:14Speaker 2: the picture-perfect day. I hope you get a chance to
- 0:16Speaker 2: enjoy it. It is 72 degrees, and we're not dealing
- 0:21Speaker 2: with hot, humid weather. It's just really a perfect day temperature-wise.
- 0:26Speaker 2: These are the days you long for and live for,
- 0:28Speaker 2: and I hope you get a chance to enjoy it
- 0:30Speaker 2: as the afternoon rolls on.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Hey, good afternoon.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Welcome, as always, 330-729-9977. By the way, my top secret number,
- 0:39Speaker 2: keep it to yourself.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's unlisted. If you want to call the program and
- 0:42Speaker 1: get on board, 330-729-9977.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Here's how strange was this. So I'm sitting last night.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Here's the scenario. I'm at Verb Manor. I left right
- 0:57Speaker 2: after the broadcast yesterday. So I left right after six
- 1:01Speaker 2: o'clock yesterday. And I'm sitting at the island in the
- 1:08Speaker 2: kitchen of Verb Manor with my wife. And I'm having
- 1:11Speaker 2: a slice of pizza, one slice, just one slice. And
- 1:15Speaker 2: the pizza of choice that day was Cornersburg pizza from
- 1:18Speaker 2: the original Cornersburg. And I was sitting there having that.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And my wife turns to me and she says, is
- 1:26Speaker 2: that the tornado siren? And I really didn't hear it because,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you know, they rotate and they are quiet and then
- 1:34Speaker 2: they get loud. And I said, what? She said, is
- 1:37Speaker 2: that the tornado siren I'm hearing? And sure enough, by
- 1:40Speaker 2: now it's rotating. What a great system. First and foremost,
- 1:44Speaker 2: let's just acknowledge it is the best alert system around. Because,
- 1:49Speaker 2: I mean, so it's circling around and you can hear
- 1:52Speaker 2: the tornado siren going off again. So you just hear
- 1:57Speaker 2: it go off. And I just turn to her and
- 1:59Speaker 2: I say, this is unbelievable.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And sure enough..
- 2:07Speaker 2: You can what's a great video coverage Paul Wetzel had
- 2:13Speaker 2: on TV 27 with the weather cameras, with the weather
- 2:17Speaker 2: cameras that they had. I mean, Paul Wetzel just did
- 2:22Speaker 2: what a great coverage with those weather cameras where you
- 2:27Speaker 2: could actually see you could physically watch the day. This
- 2:30Speaker 2: is you could see the tornado right there on television
- 2:34Speaker 2: as it was happening live. As it was happening live,
- 2:37Speaker 2: as you would see it, you know, on the east side,
- 2:39Speaker 2: if you will, heading towards Girard. And it was right there.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I mean, live on television. And you just sat back
- 2:49Speaker 2: and you said, this is unreal. Because we just went
- 2:53Speaker 2: through this, what, in less than two weeks? And here
- 2:56Speaker 2: we go again. And just to watch the progress of
- 3:03Speaker 2: this as it moved somewhat rapidly.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And it's going really down, what, 422 for the most part.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It was just great coverage by our television station, WKBN,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and Paul Wetzel. So they did an excellent job on that.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And there was obviously some damage in the areas where
- 3:27Speaker 2: it went. But the strange part, and that's the weird
- 3:29Speaker 2: thing about tornadoes, is that The sun was shining out
- 3:38Speaker 2: our front door. We didn't even get any rain.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So the sun was shining.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And you could look over and you could see dark
- 3:46Speaker 2: skies and you could see what they were, the television coverage.
- 3:51Speaker 2: But I mean, we didn't suffer any rain there. That's
- 3:56Speaker 2: not to my recollection. I don't think it's it even rains.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So it was like, wow, how interesting is that? But
- 4:02Speaker 2: it's unbelievable that that happened for a second time.
- 4:05Speaker 1: In two weeks.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But there you have it. Is somebody messing with the weather?
- 4:11Speaker 2: Is somebody messing with the weather? Or is this just
- 4:15Speaker 2: a case that you have these people that say, hey, see,
- 4:18Speaker 2: we're telling you this is global warming. It's screwing with
- 4:21Speaker 2: the weather patterns. That's why you got all these extreme
- 4:25Speaker 2: conditions anymore. It's global warming.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Get used to it.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That's why you have areas that are hotter than they've
- 4:30Speaker 2: ever been. And that's why you have all this crazy
- 4:33Speaker 2: weather that's going on. It's global warming. And that's what
- 4:36Speaker 2: some folks say, some scientists say. Others disagree with that.
- 4:42Speaker 2: So I guess we don't know for certain. A lot
- 4:44Speaker 2: of people have opinions, but it doesn't mean they're scientists
- 4:47Speaker 2: or they know. We can all have opinions on it,
- 4:50Speaker 2: but there's always those people that say, boy, the weather's
- 4:53Speaker 2: awful strange. Look at how hot it's getting in some
- 4:55Speaker 2: of these areas, hotter than it's ever been, and all
- 4:57Speaker 2: this kind of extreme weather, and that's what global warming's
- 5:00Speaker 2: all about, or.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So they say. So there you have it.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yesterday's adventure, sitting right there, eating a slice of pizza
- 5:08Speaker 2: with my wife when these sirens are going off.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So let's see.
- 5:15Speaker 2: There you have it. I want to talk to you
- 5:18Speaker 2: about El Presidente. I got in a discussion with G2
- 5:24Speaker 2: last night on a program. And for those of you
- 5:28Speaker 2: that listen on a regular basis, I must confess, I mean,
- 5:34Speaker 2: I think that this is a disaster what's going on
- 5:36Speaker 2: as far as Trump and Iran. I think it's just
- 5:40Speaker 2: an absolute disaster that he should have never done in
- 5:44Speaker 2: the first place. He should have never got involved in
- 5:46Speaker 2: this in the first place. I mean, it was a
- 5:50Speaker 2: mistake from day one. Now, do you just continue on
- 5:53Speaker 2: with this? And knowing that it was a mistake from
- 5:56Speaker 2: day one, do you just continue to stay the course
- 5:58Speaker 2: despite the fact that it's a mistake?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Because..
- 6:02Speaker 2: Here's the problem. You're seeing oil prices go up, gas
- 6:11Speaker 2: prices go up. I mean, what is just stifling everything
- 6:16Speaker 2: and everybody?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Inflation.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I mean, it is just out of control. You hear
- 6:24Speaker 2: communities talk about why they need more money because a
- 6:28Speaker 2: fire truck costs so much more, a police car costs
- 6:31Speaker 2: so much more. And you know it's true, just like
- 6:34Speaker 2: you take a look at what they say your house
- 6:36Speaker 2: is worth now.
- 6:37Speaker 1: This is all inflation. Inflation.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Well, your house is worth this much, and that's what
- 6:42Speaker 2: we're going to tax you on. Have you priced vehicles
- 6:47Speaker 2: these days? I mean, it's ridiculous what they're looking for
- 6:49Speaker 2: some of these. Not that you can't find a good
- 6:51Speaker 2: deal on some new cars, depending what you're looking for.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You can get like a Chevy Trax and that kind
- 6:56Speaker 2: of stuff. There's still some affordable stuff out there on
- 6:59Speaker 2: the lower end, the affordable ends. But if you look
- 7:01Speaker 2: at a lot of other stuff, it's pretty steep on
- 7:04Speaker 2: a price. So everything you look at from housing to cars,
- 7:11Speaker 2: your electricity is doubled. Gasoline's back at four bucks a gallon.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Your property taxes keep going up. Groceries keep costing more.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I mean, all the stuff that you need. Who doesn't
- 7:23Speaker 2: need electricity? Electricity is doubled. It's doubled in price. The
- 7:29Speaker 2: cost of your electricity is doubled. Natural gas has gone up.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Groceries have gone up. Like I said, gasoline was down.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Now it's back to $ 4 on average. Insurance has gone up.
- 7:43Speaker 2: All this stuff has gone up way beyond single digits,
- 7:47Speaker 2: double digits. I don't think anybody's income can keep up
- 7:50Speaker 2: with it. And it affects your savings. Whether you're, no
- 7:58Speaker 2: matter what age you are, it can affect your your savings,
- 8:02Speaker 2: your retirements, your stock portfolio. Hey, look, I got this
- 8:06Speaker 2: much money, but it doesn't buy as much as it
- 8:08Speaker 2: used to buy. Well, because of inflation. And I was disagreeing,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I guess, with G2 yesterday saying, I don't see any
- 8:17Speaker 2: end in sight to this situation. I don't see any
- 8:21Speaker 2: end in sight. As they say, what do they say
- 8:23Speaker 2: is the definition of insanity, doing the same thing again
- 8:26Speaker 2: and again and expect different results? So let's just keep
- 8:30Speaker 2: on bombing. Let's bomb them some more. That'll bring them
- 8:32Speaker 2: to submission. Let's bomb this stuff now. And, you know,
- 8:39Speaker 2: we've heard all along they're close. They want to make
- 8:41Speaker 2: a deal. I got him on the ropes. Trump was saying,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and that didn't materialize. Well, we got this 60 day moratorium. Well,
- 8:47Speaker 2: that didn't materialize. And now we're going to bomb them
- 8:52Speaker 2: some more Iran, and then we'll get them where we
- 8:55Speaker 2: need them.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Well, what if that doesn't work? So is there a
- 9:00Speaker 1: possibility that.
- 9:03Speaker 2: These people were underestimated, that they're pretty well dug in
- 9:05Speaker 2: and they're not going to give in?
- 9:11Speaker 1: Just a thought.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I mean, it could be a major mistake, but I
- 9:15Speaker 2: do know this much, it's going to just continue to
- 9:17Speaker 2: add to inflation. Have a hard time getting nitrogen, which
- 9:20Speaker 2: is for fertilizer, for farmers, other chemicals as well. I mean,
- 9:27Speaker 2: the Strait was open. We didn't have any of these
- 9:28Speaker 2: problems prior to them doing this. Now, these problems just
- 9:31Speaker 2: continue to go on as far as energy. We're draining
- 9:35Speaker 2: our reserves, our strategic oil reserves. China's doing the same thing.
- 9:39Speaker 2: So we're tapping into all our reserve oil. And using
- 9:42Speaker 2: all that to try to keep prices low. Well, what
- 9:44Speaker 2: do you do when you're at these critical levels that
- 9:47Speaker 2: they're talking about that the oil experts were talking about
- 9:51Speaker 2: you'd be hitting in July and August as you continue
- 9:54Speaker 2: to drain it? Then when you stop draining it, now
- 9:56Speaker 2: what do you do? Now what happens to prices? Just
- 10:00Speaker 2: something to think about as inflation continues, I think, to increase.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I just think we're all becoming poorer as a result
- 10:09Speaker 2: of this. We're all getting poorer every day. Everything's getting
- 10:13Speaker 2: more expensive. No one's income keeps up with it. They
- 10:16Speaker 2: continue to stay the course on this and It's just
- 10:20Speaker 2: not a good scenario. Comments, 330-729-9977, 330-729-9977. I don't know
- 10:29Speaker 2: if the right thing is just to say to Israel.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Hey, you're on your own. We're done with this. You're
- 10:38Speaker 1: on the air.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Hey, Ron, are you done with your monologue?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 2: If you're the first caller, I've got to think about
- 10:50Speaker 2: that for a second because if you're the first caller,
- 10:52Speaker 2: if I'm done with my monologue, it means I've got
- 10:53Speaker 2: to talk to Bubba Ganoush.
- 10:55Speaker 1: No, no.
- 10:57Speaker 3: I was waiting until you were done fomenting about Trump.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yes, I am done at this point in time, and
- 11:07Speaker 2: I'm not a cheerleader for Trump, as you are.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm a realist.
- 11:10Speaker 3: No, no.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yes, I'm a realist.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I'm a cheerleader for the United States of America.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Hey, did you hear the compliment that was paid to
- 11:17Speaker 1: you last night?
- 11:19Speaker 4: No.
- 11:20Speaker 1: You didn't hear it?
- 11:21Speaker 5: No.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Are you ready for this?
- 11:26Speaker 2: I'm going to share some top secrets radio gossip with
- 11:30Speaker 2: all of you. Do you know the caller I'm asked
- 11:33Speaker 2: more questions about than any other caller? There's two, and
- 11:39Speaker 2: you're not one of them, but there's two callers I'm
- 11:41Speaker 2: asked more questions about than any other callers, any of them,
- 11:46Speaker 2: when I'm not sitting here in the studio.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Can you guess who those two are?
- 11:53Speaker 3: No, but you were saying somebody said something nice about me.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but can you guess who those two are?
- 11:59Speaker 3: No, I cannot.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I thought you were a visionary. I thought you were
- 12:03Speaker 1: like psychic.
- 12:04Speaker 3: No, you've got buddies that give you wrong information.
- 12:07Speaker 5: So come on, tell me about somebody said something nice
- 12:10Speaker 5: about me. I'd like to hear that.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, two callers that I know that I get asked
- 12:15Speaker 2: about more than any other callers on this broadcast.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Any of them. I mean, they're neck and neck.
- 12:22Speaker 5: Go on, say who it is.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Well, take a guess.
- 12:26Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 12:26Speaker 6: I can't guess.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Come on, take a guess.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 12:32Speaker 1: No, it's not God.
- 12:32Speaker 5: How about G2 is one of them, huh?
- 12:35Speaker 2: He's one of them, yes. So now you're 50-50. So
- 12:42Speaker 2: I feel like I'm playing Jeopardy or some game with you.
- 12:44Speaker 3: The other one's JJ.
- 12:47Speaker 1: There you go.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Now, see, I said, did I not say you've got
- 12:52Speaker 2: psychic abilities, yes or no?
- 12:55Speaker 1: Did I?
- 12:56Speaker 7: No.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Answer the question.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Did I not say I think you have like psychic abilities?
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yes or no?
- 13:02Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 13:05Speaker 5: You said that?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 13:07Speaker 2: And you said, I don't know who they'd be. And
- 13:09Speaker 2: I said to you, there are two callers I'm asked
- 13:11Speaker 2: more questions about than any of the other regular callers.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And you said, I don't know.
- 13:16Speaker 2: And I said, I know you know because you're like psychic.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And here you go. And those two callers are? g2
- 13:23Speaker 2: and jj i mean i'm asked more questions about jj
- 13:26Speaker 2: the liberal and g2 than any of our other regular
- 13:29Speaker 2: callers so yesterday jj the liberal said to g2 in
- 13:35Speaker 2: a discussion with g2 he refers to g2 affectionately as
- 13:39Speaker 2: vladimir he said i would rather listen to baba ganoush
- 13:42Speaker 2: than you.
- 13:44Speaker 5: How about that how about that.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I mean, I didn't agree with him, but I thought
- 13:51Speaker 1: that was.
- 13:51Speaker 5: A compliment to him.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Why did he say that?
- 13:55Speaker 2: Well, I was just saying he said that, and I
- 13:57Speaker 2: thought it was a big compliment to you. I didn't
- 13:59Speaker 2: say I said it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: He said it.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but did you ask him why?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Well, there really wasn't time. They were in a big
- 14:09Speaker 1: argument with each other.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I mean, there really wasn't time to ask him because
- 14:13Speaker 2: he was on fire last night and G2 and him
- 14:15Speaker 2: were really getting into it. So I couldn't interrupt him
- 14:17Speaker 2: and say why. But I said, oh, there's a compliment.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I'm going to tell Bubba Ganoush when he calls that J.J.,
- 14:23Speaker 2: the liberal, says he would rather have Bubba Ganoush than G2.
- 14:26Speaker 1: And I thought to myself, boy, I sure wouldn't.
- 14:29Speaker 3: But that might not be a compliment.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Right?
- 14:33Speaker 8: Right.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Well, why wouldn't it not be a compliment?
- 14:39Speaker 3: I don't believe in his views.
- 14:42Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with his views. He was
- 14:44Speaker 2: just saying. I mean, I would perceive it as a compliment.
- 14:50Speaker 8: Oh, okay, then.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Good.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I mean, I thought it was a compliment. Well, you
- 14:53Speaker 1: seem awful sensitive today.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I'm not sensitive.
- 14:57Speaker 5: I'm not sensitive.
- 14:57Speaker 1: No, you're sensitive today. You seem like you're.
- 15:00Speaker 3: You're formatting on the radio, and I'm trying to get
- 15:03Speaker 3: to the point.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Get to the point.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Let me share something that you don't know.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 6: So, I..
- 15:15Speaker 3: They had a meeting with the president of Lebanon.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You know, that's a standby. Let me do my commercials
- 15:20Speaker 2: and I'll come back to you. Just hang in there
- 15:21Speaker 2: for a second.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Call us in line. Standby. Ron Furp from the kingdom
- 15:25Speaker 1: of Mahoning news radio 570.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Hey, Ron, I'm going to go check in with Mike Leonard.
- 15:32Speaker 2: He's out of Bernard towns, news weather and talk station
- 15:35Speaker 2: 570 WKBN.
- 15:36Speaker 1: All right, go ahead with your insights.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Okay.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Uh, The president had a meeting with the president of Lebanon.
- 15:47Speaker 3: And he worked out something to help him get control
- 15:51Speaker 3: of his country, get Hezbollah out of it. You know, Hezbollah?
- 15:56Speaker 1: You're echoing so much. Get close to the phone. What
- 15:58Speaker 1: are you, on the toilet?
- 16:00Speaker 3: No. I'm not in my situation right now. Anyhow, I
- 16:09Speaker 3: said he had a meeting with the president of Lebanon.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 16:12Speaker 4: Okay.
- 16:13Speaker 8: Okay.
- 16:14Speaker 3: And they worked out a deal where he can help
- 16:17Speaker 3: them get control of their country and get Hezbollah out
- 16:21Speaker 3: of there.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Okay?
- 16:24Speaker 3: So that's huge.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Well, we'll see. I said we'll see.
- 16:30Speaker 2: It's a giant mess. I'm telling you, I don't think
- 16:34Speaker 2: there's a lot of options here.
- 16:36Speaker 4: And..
- 16:37Speaker 2: This was a miscalculation on his part. And this rests
- 16:41Speaker 2: at the feet of Donald J. Trump, the guy I
- 16:43Speaker 2: voted for.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I still support.
- 16:45Speaker 2: And it's a mess. And the economy's a mess as
- 16:48Speaker 2: a result of it. And it might get a lot worse.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Listen.
- 16:51Speaker 2: What?
- 16:52Speaker 3: Listen, you're making the world safe, Ron.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't necessarily agree with that.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Okay, man. That's fine.
- 17:00Speaker 8: Okay.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Well, it sounds like you're angry.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Bye-bye. Bye-bye.
- 17:05Speaker 2: See, he seems like he was just, like, angry with me.
- 17:08Speaker 2: But I think he's a Trump cheerleader.
- 17:11Speaker 1: In my opinion.
- 17:12Speaker 6: I still don't know why. I heard that conversation you
- 17:14Speaker 6: had on with G2. And I keep telling myself, I
- 17:18Speaker 6: keep asking myself, who's to gain? China has sucked up
- 17:24Speaker 6: a lot of fuel and stuff and is storing huge
- 17:28Speaker 6: amounts of it.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Well, no, no, no.
- 17:30Speaker 2: China has an even larger strategic oil reserve than we do,
- 17:34Speaker 2: and they're tapping into that. At the same time, China
- 17:36Speaker 2: is cutting down on consumption. So China has cut down
- 17:39Speaker 2: on consumption and tapping into their strategic oil reserves, which
- 17:43Speaker 2: are larger than ours. We have been tapping into ours.
- 17:46Speaker 2: We're at a level, a low level that we haven't
- 17:48Speaker 2: seen since, I think, 1985. So we're going through ours.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Well, what happens..
- 17:54Speaker 2: When you're done drawing off of this stuff, I mean,
- 17:57Speaker 2: to keep prices down. Now, what's the next move? And
- 18:01Speaker 2: that's where these oil experts say we are in July
- 18:04Speaker 2: and August here, that that's what's coming. And you could
- 18:08Speaker 2: see much higher prices for a barrel of Earl, as
- 18:12Speaker 2: they say in Texas, and for a gallon of gasoline.
- 18:15Speaker 1: And that creates inflation. Go ahead.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Well, it's China. China's going to gain, because... Right now,
- 18:24Speaker 6: they're all saying that Iran is the centerfold of all
- 18:28Speaker 6: that is so bad in the world, when actually, who
- 18:31Speaker 6: are the people that are picking them up? It's China.
- 18:35Speaker 6: China's going in there, probably flying stuff in and out
- 18:38Speaker 6: of there all the time. And they're just waiting to
- 18:43Speaker 6: take over the world's commerce, and Trump helped them with
- 18:47Speaker 6: all the damn tariffs. But the problem being is that
- 18:51Speaker 6: G2 wants to think that this guy, who, if you
- 18:55Speaker 6: take a look at his record of being a businessman,
- 18:59Speaker 6: isn't all that great. Matter of fact, it's pretty sad.
- 19:04Speaker 2: He's done OK because he's he's wealthy and he's got
- 19:08Speaker 2: a good brand and all that kind of stuff. But
- 19:10Speaker 2: forget all of that. I'm more interested in what he's
- 19:12Speaker 2: doing as president. I make this I say this to
- 19:14Speaker 2: you once again, I voted for the guy and I
- 19:18Speaker 2: wouldn't vote for Harris or Biden if I had to
- 19:20Speaker 2: do it tomorrow. But I think that this is a
- 19:22Speaker 2: major mistake. Can I support somebody and at the same
- 19:25Speaker 2: time say this is a major mistake?
- 19:27Speaker 1: And I think that.
- 19:30Speaker 2: He was snookered into it and we are all paying
- 19:32Speaker 2: a dear price.
- 19:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree with you. I understand that concept totally.
- 19:40Speaker 6: But what bothers me is he's continuously going on, and
- 19:44Speaker 6: it's just going to, with his attitude towards other countries,
- 19:48Speaker 6: I mean, take a look at that summit. Nobody really
- 19:50Speaker 6: wanted to talk to him because, well, he's the neighbor
- 19:52Speaker 6: that comes in a bad mouth to everybody. He don't
- 19:55Speaker 6: want to work with anybody. I am the president of
- 19:57Speaker 6: the United States, and I'm God, and I don't care
- 20:00Speaker 6: about anybody else's feelings. They had that forest fire up
- 20:03Speaker 6: there in Canada and in Minnesota. And he's saying, well,
- 20:08Speaker 6: we better put some tariffs on these people because they
- 20:10Speaker 6: can't control it. Well, that makes no sense. Tariff seems
- 20:15Speaker 6: to be a thing that he thinks he can control.
- 20:18Speaker 6: When in turn, Canada is going to say, well, the
- 20:20Speaker 6: United States will deal with somebody else. And guess who
- 20:23Speaker 6: that is?
- 20:24Speaker 7: China.
- 20:26Speaker 6: China is in the breath right now of taking over
- 20:30Speaker 6: the world economy because of this guy here that you
- 20:34Speaker 6: voted for, and mind you, This Republican voted for him
- 20:39Speaker 6: the first time, and halfway through his first shot at
- 20:42Speaker 6: being a president, I wondered what in the hell I
- 20:44Speaker 6: was thinking.
- 20:44Speaker 2: All right, stand by, please, stand by. I'll get back
- 20:48Speaker 2: to him momentarily. Callers in line, stand by. Ron Furt,
- 20:50Speaker 2: NewsRadio 570, WKVN.
- 20:52Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570, WKVN.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Columbus residents at City Council District 7 can help decide
- 21:00Speaker 4: how $ 1 million in public funding will be spent through
- 21:03Speaker 4: the city's participatory budgeting program. A community meeting is set
- 21:07Speaker 4: for tonight where people can suggest projects like park improvements,
- 21:11Speaker 4: better street lighting, safer crosswalks, or more green space. The
- 21:15Speaker 4: ideas will be put to a public vote later this
- 21:17Speaker 4: year with the winning projects receiving funding. Residents who cannot
- 21:21Speaker 4: attend the meeting can still submit their ideas online. And
- 21:25Speaker 4: in the meantime, a nearly $ 1 billion aircraft manufacturing facility
- 21:28Speaker 4: is coming to Springfield. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine helped announce
- 21:32Speaker 4: the new Electra Aero Factory at Airport Park yesterday. The
- 21:35Speaker 4: Virginia-based company is planning to build a plant to produce
- 21:39Speaker 4: its EL-9 ultra-short hybrid electric aircraft at the new site,
- 21:43Speaker 4: creating roughly 2,000 jobs. Construction is expected to start next year.
- 21:47Speaker 4: I'm Brady Hopkins.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 21:53Speaker 7: and sports radio.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Podcasts, too. Download the app. Free never sounded so good.
- 21:59Speaker 1: A to Z.
- 22:00Speaker 7: On NewsRadio 570, WKBN. All right, back to it here.
- 22:04Speaker 7: Good afternoon, 335. Perfect day here on Wednesday, July 22nd
- 22:09Speaker 7: with 72 degrees. It's just perfect out there today.
- 22:11Speaker 2: All right, so you voted for Trump the first time,
- 22:14Speaker 2: and you say you did not vote for him the
- 22:15Speaker 2: second time?
- 22:16Speaker 6: No, by halfway through his first time being president, I wondered,
- 22:20Speaker 6: what is this guy doing? He's not helping out you, me,
- 22:23Speaker 6: or our kids or our grandkids or our great-great-grandkids. All
- 22:27Speaker 6: he's doing is helping himself. I mean, just take a
- 22:30Speaker 6: look at how much money this guy's made.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So you're telling me, though, you voted for Biden or Harris?
- 22:39Speaker 6: Oh, I voted for Biden when he went in the
- 22:41Speaker 6: first time. The second time I voted, when I found
- 22:45Speaker 6: out that Trump was all pushing on it, I voted
- 22:47Speaker 6: for Harris just because of the fact that I didn't
- 22:50Speaker 6: think that Trump was not so..
- 22:53Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I mean, in all seriousness, did you have to hold
- 22:56Speaker 2: your nose? I mean, listen, as bad as you might
- 23:00Speaker 2: think Trump is, he's a lot better than Harris.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Good God.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Well, you see, that's the point. A lot of people
- 23:09Speaker 6: will stay with a Republican only because they're Republican.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Well, no, she's just stupid. Well, I understand that.
- 23:20Speaker 6: But, see, I don't blame you. I'm not mad at you.
- 23:23Speaker 6: I accept the fact that you think Trump is okay.
- 23:28Speaker 6: And I don't. I take a look at what he's done.
- 23:32Speaker 6: More than 98% of his things he's been involved in,
- 23:35Speaker 6: if it hadn't been for his dad's money, he wouldn't
- 23:38Speaker 6: be where he's at. I mean, how would you like
- 23:40Speaker 6: to get out of college and get a million dollars? Here,
- 23:45Speaker 6: here's a million dollars. Go do something. And then when
- 23:48Speaker 6: you screw it up, he gives you another couple million
- 23:51Speaker 6: to straighten it out.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Well, that's exactly what happened to me.
- 23:55Speaker 6: Oh, my goodness. Why are you sitting there talking to me?
- 24:00Speaker 2: You mean to tell me your dad didn't do that
- 24:02Speaker 2: for you? What kind of father did you have?
- 24:04Speaker 1: You mean to tell me when you got out?
- 24:06Speaker 6: I had a great father. I loved him very much.
- 24:08Speaker 1: But he didn't give you a million dollars and tell
- 24:10Speaker 1: you to be on your way?
- 24:11Speaker 2: No.
- 24:12Speaker 6: Go out and make it. I made mine.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 24:16Speaker 6: I never made a million. And neither did you.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Listen here, loser. All right, so you didn't vote for
- 24:27Speaker 2: him the second time. Here's my dilemma. I voted for
- 24:30Speaker 2: him every time, and I'd vote for him again. But
- 24:34Speaker 2: just because I disagree with him on this one issue
- 24:36Speaker 2: doesn't mean I don't like some of the other stuff
- 24:39Speaker 2: that he's done, and he's far better. I can't vote
- 24:42Speaker 2: for these people that think– You put tampons in men's bathrooms.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You can wish yourself pregnant or wish yourself a woman
- 24:50Speaker 2: or any of that craziness, that wokeness. We can't say
- 24:55Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen and all of this craziness that they
- 24:59Speaker 2: stand for on the social agenda, let alone.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Their economic agenda.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Don't forget, Biden created all this double-digit inflation with his policies.
- 25:08Speaker 2: But I'm man enough to say Trump is making it
- 25:11Speaker 2: worse with this situation in Iran. Remember, before the war,
- 25:15Speaker 2: we had gas down about $ 2. 50 a gallon. Prices were
- 25:17Speaker 2: going down. Imagine where things would be right now if
- 25:21Speaker 2: he never engaged in this situation. We'd all be better off.
- 25:25Speaker 6: You're right. We'd all be better off. But he decided
- 25:28Speaker 6: he had to have a war.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 25:30Speaker 6: With a country... that has the 11th most powerful military
- 25:35Speaker 6: and is showing it yet today that they still have it. Why?
- 25:39Speaker 6: Because the country of China and Russia have been feeding
- 25:42Speaker 6: them military equipment all along.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I don't know if that's the case.
- 25:47Speaker 2: I just think that they're dug in and they're not
- 25:50Speaker 2: going to raise a white flag like they think they
- 25:53Speaker 2: should have already. I mean, I feel I've been deceived
- 25:57Speaker 2: by some of the stuff that the president's been saying.
- 25:59Speaker 1: They want to make a deal. They want to make
- 26:00Speaker 1: a deal.
- 26:01Speaker 2: He's been saying that week after week after week. And
- 26:04Speaker 2: there's never been a deal. And we got him right
- 26:06Speaker 2: where we want him. And then this 60-day ceasefire and
- 26:10Speaker 2: there's nothing going on there. It appears to me that...
- 26:15Speaker 2: They don't want to make a deal. It appears to
- 26:17Speaker 2: me that they have control of the strait. Remember, that
- 26:20Speaker 2: strait was open before this war ever took place. You
- 26:23Speaker 2: didn't have any of these problems that you're seeing now,
- 26:26Speaker 2: or we'll see after this is over with, as far
- 26:28Speaker 2: as the strait is.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Concerned, correct?
- 26:31Speaker 6: Well, yeah, you're absolutely correct, and it's going to take
- 26:33Speaker 6: better than a year to 18 months, if not two years,
- 26:36Speaker 6: to get everything straightened out. But who put us in
- 26:38Speaker 6: this mess?
- 26:39Speaker 1: Trump.
- 26:40Speaker 6: And with all this stuff that you say he's doing
- 26:43Speaker 6: for the country... He didn't lower the gas prices. The
- 26:47Speaker 6: economy did. Who is the economy? You, me, my wife,
- 26:52Speaker 6: your wife. Hang on a second here.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Here's where you're wrong on oil prices. He did.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Help lower the oil prices by expanding drilling offshore and
- 27:06Speaker 2: on federal lands. All the stuff that Biden prevented... and
- 27:11Speaker 2: the regulations that Biden put.
- 27:12Speaker 1: In, he got rid of them.
- 27:14Speaker 2: So he did very much increase drilling, and he knew
- 27:18Speaker 2: that if he increased the oil supply, oil prices would
- 27:20Speaker 2: come down. And they did come down as a result
- 27:24Speaker 2: of it. I mean, if he would have never done this,
- 27:26Speaker 2: I bet you'd be at $ 2 a gallon for gasoline
- 27:29Speaker 2: if he would have never done this, or certainly $ 2.
- 27:32Speaker 1: 25.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Gas would have been much cheaper, and I think your
- 27:36Speaker 2: groceries would have been less expensive. Inflation was going in
- 27:39Speaker 2: a downward direction. This was a stupid move. And my
- 27:43Speaker 2: question is, do you just continue on? If this was
- 27:46Speaker 2: a mistake from day one, do you just continue down
- 27:48Speaker 2: this road with.
- 27:50Speaker 1: No end in sight?
- 27:52Speaker 6: Well, it kind of looks like Vietnam, don't it?
- 27:55Speaker 1: You know what? It does. It does.
- 27:58Speaker 6: The thing of it is, okay, so we take the
- 28:00Speaker 6: restrictions off. Go drill, baby, drill. How long is it
- 28:04Speaker 6: going to take for them to drill? Get that oil out.
- 28:07Speaker 6: Get it moved to where it can be turned into
- 28:08Speaker 6: gas and diesel fuel. You're talking two, three years?
- 28:14Speaker 1: Well, you're also going to— It won't happen in six months.
- 28:17Speaker 2: You've got to acknowledge it's—all the stuff that I learned
- 28:20Speaker 2: about oil that I never thought I would know.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I'm almost like T. Boone Pickens.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I've learned so much about oil. It's the type of
- 28:28Speaker 2: oil that we have is a light crude and you,
- 28:30Speaker 2: and our refineries are made for heavy crude and you
- 28:33Speaker 2: need heavy crude for diesel and jet fuel and, and
- 28:39Speaker 2: light crude is good for gasoline, but most refineries can't,
- 28:43Speaker 2: we export a lot of the oil that we take
- 28:45Speaker 2: out of the ground because we need the other.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Type of oil.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So it's all kind of tied together to a certain extent.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I mean, You follow what I'm saying? Oil just isn't oil.
- 28:55Speaker 2: It's different.
- 28:57Speaker 6: I understand that. And what you're saying, because I've, over
- 29:01Speaker 6: the years, I've educated myself on that by looking it
- 29:03Speaker 6: up and paying attention. But what I just don't understand
- 29:09Speaker 6: why people want to back a person who claims, oh,
- 29:14Speaker 6: I put in hundreds of thousands of pools. He never
- 29:17Speaker 6: put them in. He had contractors do it. He never
- 29:20Speaker 6: put them in. He just put out the money out there.
- 29:23Speaker 6: And then when it was all built and done, he
- 29:24Speaker 6: had it for a few years, he had to get
- 29:26Speaker 6: rid of it. Yeah. And he couldn't hold it. So he,
- 29:31Speaker 6: how many times did he file for Chapter 11 and
- 29:34Speaker 6: Chapter 13 bankruptcies? Yeah. But that's, that's a businessman right there. Yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 6: The artist the deal is more so the art of
- 29:42Speaker 6: the steel and that's how i look at it all
- 29:45Speaker 6: right but the bitcoin the bitcoin thing too is you
- 29:49Speaker 6: want to buy buy into his bitcoin company okay so
- 29:53Speaker 6: we got to start off with the least amount. You've
- 29:56Speaker 6: got to spend $ 100, 000. Out of that $ 100, 000, you've got
- 30:00Speaker 6: to pay X amount of dollars in percentage for the paperwork.
- 30:06Speaker 6: And then every month or every six months, you get
- 30:09Speaker 6: a bill for looking at it and saying, this is
- 30:12Speaker 6: how much your Bitcoin is worth. If you don't keep
- 30:16Speaker 6: adding to it, It's going to get less and less
- 30:19Speaker 6: until finally it falls.
- 30:20Speaker 1: I don't know anything about that. All right. Are you
- 30:25Speaker 1: having a lovely day today, old-timer?
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 6: Yesterday was kind of scary. I was actually thinking about
- 30:31Speaker 6: you because of the way that tornado was going, and
- 30:33Speaker 6: then I got thinking, no, you're over on that side.
- 30:37Speaker 6: On that rich side, there were things that wasn't so bad.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely. Yes, yes. Thank you for thinking of me.
- 30:45Speaker 2: I was sitting right there when, like I said, eating
- 30:48Speaker 2: a slice of pizza when my wife said, there goes
- 30:50Speaker 2: the tornado sirens again. I mean, the most effective warning
- 30:55Speaker 2: system is those tornado sirens. I mean, that is the
- 30:59Speaker 2: most effective way of alerting everybody of, hey, be concerned.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Look to the sky. You know, pay attention.
- 31:08Speaker 6: On top of the sirens, I was here when it
- 31:14Speaker 6: came through Niles.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. So was I.
- 31:17Speaker 6: And so the thing of it is, it got me is,
- 31:20Speaker 6: I could walk into my house and look at it,
- 31:23Speaker 6: and there was no weather. All of a sudden now,
- 31:26Speaker 6: in the past 10 years, they finally got it in
- 31:29Speaker 6: their head, when this stuff comes in, we're going to
- 31:32Speaker 6: take every channel we got in the surrounding area and
- 31:35Speaker 6: and we're going to give you a weatherman to tell
- 31:37Speaker 6: you where it's going and what's going on.
- 31:39Speaker 2: And I will tell you this much, in all sincerity,
- 31:41Speaker 2: Paul Wetzel does the best job of anybody on 27.
- 31:45Speaker 1: There's no question.
- 31:46Speaker 6: I think his whole crew is exceptional at that. They
- 31:49Speaker 6: work well together, and they talk together, and they don't
- 31:53Speaker 6: talk in language that you and I... Well, I can understand.
- 31:57Speaker 6: I know you can more than understand it.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Well, you know, I am a college graduate.
- 32:01Speaker 6: Oh, wow. From where?
- 32:03Speaker 5: The..
- 32:04Speaker 1: University of Akron. Yeah, I tell you.
- 32:06Speaker 6: Well, right on.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Right on.
- 32:09Speaker 8: All right.
- 32:09Speaker 6: University of life.
- 32:11Speaker 8: Yes.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the school hard knocks.
- 32:13Speaker 8: All right.
- 32:14Speaker 6: I've been knocked hard in a lot.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:16Speaker 6: Have a wonderful day. What was on the pizza?
- 32:19Speaker 1: Pepperoni.
- 32:21Speaker 8: Oh.
- 32:22Speaker 6: It don't go well with my gallbladder.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I know.
- 32:25Speaker 8: I know.
- 32:26Speaker 2: It's the worst thing for you, but... But it was delicious. Hey,
- 32:29Speaker 2: it's good hearing your voice. I appreciate it.
- 32:31Speaker 6: Thanks. I'm glad talking to you.
- 32:32Speaker 1: All right.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I'm telling you, folks, there's something about that guy I like.
- 32:36Speaker 2: You know, there's this guy that calls me from Fifth Avenue,
- 32:40Speaker 2: and we disagree, but I enjoy talking to him.
- 32:43Speaker 1: And that guy, too. There's just something about that guy
- 32:46Speaker 1: I find pleasurable. You're on the air. Hello, Ron.
- 32:49Speaker 8: Thanks for taking my call. I've got a couple articles
- 32:52Speaker 8: I want to share I got today.
- 32:54Speaker 1: All right.
- 32:55Speaker 8: Oilplanes.com. Goldman Sachs. Oren's oil could hit $ 120 a barrel
- 33:01Speaker 8: as Middle East war drags. They're talking before the end
- 33:04Speaker 8: of the year that oil's going to go to $ 120
- 33:08Speaker 8: a barrel. That'll make gas around.
- 33:12Speaker 5: $ 6 a gallon.
- 33:13Speaker 8: And there's another front opening up. Saudi Arabia has ports
- 33:19Speaker 8: on the Red Sea so they can take their oil
- 33:21Speaker 8: and tankers up to the Suez Canal and, uh, They
- 33:27Speaker 8: ship them through the Mediterranean to the rest of the world.
- 33:30Speaker 8: And the Houthis have been threatening. They're going to bomb
- 33:34Speaker 8: the tankers. They called the tank headquarters, and two of
- 33:40Speaker 8: them turned around, and they were bombing for China and India.
- 33:43Speaker 8: They made U-turns. So we got another problem in the
- 33:48Speaker 8: oil is with the Red Sea and the Houthis.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 33:53Speaker 8: Trump suggests he could restart Yemen bombing campaign in response
- 33:57Speaker 8: to Red Sea blockade. So a lot of trouble. It
- 34:02Speaker 8: ain't getting better.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Yes, I agree. I agree with you.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I mean, I am in total agreement with you as
- 34:11Speaker 2: far as this could. I don't see it getting better.
- 34:16Speaker 2: I don't see there is an easy way out of this,
- 34:18Speaker 2: in my opinion. I just don't see there to be
- 34:21Speaker 2: an easy way out at all. And it was a
- 34:26Speaker 2: mistake from the very beginning. And he knows it's a mistake.
- 34:31Speaker 2: He knows he thought he's been lied to and misled
- 34:33Speaker 2: by Netanyahu and Israel.
- 34:36Speaker 1: He knows it.
- 34:37Speaker 2: And now he's looking for a way, I think, to
- 34:39Speaker 2: save face and get out of this, as opposed to
- 34:42Speaker 2: just saying, pack it up and tell Israel you're on
- 34:45Speaker 2: your own.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Because, I mean, he created this mess, he being Trump.
- 34:53Speaker 8: And all this crazy weather we're having, it could be
- 34:56Speaker 8: man doing it, and it could also be God judging
- 34:59Speaker 8: our country. Some of these wars we've been into. You know,
- 35:06Speaker 8: God judges nations, too.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 1: All right.
- 35:13Speaker 8: I think we're heading for serious times.
- 35:14Speaker 1: So do I.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I mean, I'm concerned about it. I can't be like
- 35:19Speaker 2: Bubba Ganush and a Trump cheerleader. And I hope I'm wrong.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I hope I'm wrong. But I don't see an end
- 35:25Speaker 2: in sight to this. This idea, oh, we just keep
- 35:27Speaker 2: bombing more and more and more.
- 35:29Speaker 1: It's not working.
- 35:32Speaker 2: It hasn't worked to this point. See, I would go
- 35:38Speaker 2: back and say this to you. That's a whole other
- 35:40Speaker 2: part of the world. They don't think like you. They
- 35:43Speaker 2: don't live like you. They don't think like you. And
- 35:47Speaker 2: they don't necessarily want what you want. And we think
- 35:50Speaker 2: that they should be thinking like us and what we want.
- 35:54Speaker 2: But they don't think like that.
- 35:55Speaker 8: They've got a totally different religion. Right.
- 35:58Speaker 2: And you think that they're falling in love with America
- 36:03Speaker 2: as you continue to bomb this country of 93 million people?
- 36:07Speaker 8: Who knows how many innocent people we're killing, too.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:11Speaker 2: I mean, it's just interesting. I don't see an easy
- 36:15Speaker 2: way out of this. And I'm with you. I certainly
- 36:18Speaker 2: hope I'm wrong, but oil could go easily to that
- 36:20Speaker 2: or higher. And your gasoline prices and inflation will really,
- 36:27Speaker 2: really be out of control. And that makes all of
- 36:30Speaker 2: us poorer. You follow what I'm saying? I feel as
- 36:33Speaker 2: though I'm getting poorer every day.
- 36:38Speaker 8: Your truckers might stop going up and down the highway.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I'm getting poorer every day because your 401k or your
- 36:47Speaker 2: IRA or your savings doesn't buy what it bought just
- 36:51Speaker 2: a short time ago. It takes more dollars to buy
- 36:54Speaker 2: stuff than it used to. So all that you work
- 36:58Speaker 2: for as far as your investments and your savings are
- 37:00Speaker 2: buying less. And if inflation goes up even more as
- 37:04Speaker 2: a result of this goofy situation, you become poor. My
- 37:09Speaker 2: electric costs have doubled. My property taxes are out of control.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I have politicians that could care less what they're doing.
- 37:19Speaker 2: to the productive taxpayers. You follow me? I have politicians
- 37:23Speaker 2: that could care less about the problem that they're creating
- 37:28Speaker 2: for everybody with property taxes. They could care less. I
- 37:31Speaker 2: have a library system in Monon County that could care
- 37:34Speaker 2: less what people think and are very arrogant. I have
- 37:39Speaker 2: property taxes going up with re-evaluations because we're saying your
- 37:43Speaker 2: house is now worth this, and it'll go up even
- 37:45Speaker 2: though you didn't vote for anything. I have this MRDD
- 37:51Speaker 2: asking for an exorbitant levy, and if that passes, your
- 37:54Speaker 2: taxes will go up even higher. My electric costs have doubled,
- 37:58Speaker 2: the cost of my electricity. My natural gas costs are up.
- 38:02Speaker 2: My food prices are up. An airline ticket is up
- 38:06Speaker 2: in cost. My gasoline prices are up every time I
- 38:10Speaker 2: fill up a vehicle. My insurance costs are up. I
- 38:16Speaker 2: haven't even got through it all. I could go in
- 38:18Speaker 2: with the cost of medical care, and there's so much
- 38:21Speaker 2: more that have been double-digit increases. So who can keep
- 38:25Speaker 2: up with all of this craziness?
- 38:26Speaker 1: I agree.
- 38:28Speaker 2: So everyone's getting poorer. And it's like, does anybody give
- 38:32Speaker 2: a damn about this at all?
- 38:34Speaker 8: You're a great watchman. You're doing a great service for
- 38:36Speaker 8: the community. I respect you highly.
- 38:38Speaker 1: And I respect you, and I thank you for your call.
- 38:40Speaker 1: And I do. God bless. All right. News Radio 570, WQEN.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I'll have to get into some of these people that
- 38:46Speaker 2: submitted letters to replace Santos to be an Austin Township trustee.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I've got to get to that later in the broadcast
- 38:52Speaker 2: at some point because it's like, gee, when you look
- 38:56Speaker 2: at that list, there's only one or two on an
- 38:59Speaker 2: entire list that would actually be qualified to really, or
- 39:02Speaker 2: do a good job or step into that job.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I'll be right back.
- 39:11Speaker 2: All right, and Ron Verp from the Kingdom of Mahoning here, 355,
- 39:16Speaker 2: on a Wednesday afternoon, and you're on the air.
- 39:22Speaker 5: Yes, Ron, I think a lot of you guys are
- 39:26Speaker 5: just never been in a fight before.
- 39:29Speaker 8: All right.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Sometimes you're in a fight. I've been in a hundred
- 39:33Speaker 5: of them where you got to fight all you got.
- 39:37Speaker 5: And you got it. You know, even if you lose,
- 39:39Speaker 5: you know, you don't give up. And that's what Trump's doing.
- 39:44Speaker 5: What's Trump is doing? Trump is cleaning up the mess.
- 39:47Speaker 5: that Jimmy Carter and every president since Jimmy Carter left behind.
- 39:53Speaker 5: All right? Iran has been a bully. They've been getting
- 39:56Speaker 5: away with it until Trump. What he will do is
- 40:00Speaker 5: he will pull out the lights-out defense on it, which
- 40:04Speaker 5: I've seen Ed McCluskey, the legendary basketball coach, do at
- 40:09Speaker 5: Farrell in 1972 when they were in the playoffs and
- 40:12Speaker 5: they were losing 38-18 at halftime. And McCluskey switched the
- 40:18Speaker 5: plays around, put in the lights-out defense, and the other
- 40:22Speaker 5: team scored two points in the third quarter. And Farrell
- 40:26Speaker 5: scored 20. So they went from a 20-point deficit to
- 40:31Speaker 5: a two-point deficit in one quarter. That's how quickly it happened.
- 40:36Speaker 5: And that's what you're going to see now. You're going
- 40:38Speaker 5: to see Trump is going to start taking out bridges
- 40:41Speaker 5: and power plants. And we'll see how tough they get
- 40:44Speaker 5: when they have no lights. Because lights are out.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Well, we shall see. It hasn't worked to this point.
- 40:54Speaker 2: He's been telling you all along, oh, they want to
- 40:56Speaker 2: make an agreement, they want to make an agreement. He's
- 40:58Speaker 2: been telling you that for months now.
- 41:01Speaker 5: Well, you know, he says stuff all the time, right?
- 41:04Speaker 5: But it's halftime, Ron. It's halftime, and how many cities
- 41:09Speaker 5: have they bombed in the United States?
- 41:12Speaker 1: None.
- 41:12Speaker 5: How many of our aircraft have they shot down out
- 41:15Speaker 5: of the thousands, the sorties we run?
- 41:17Speaker 1: Not many.
- 41:19Speaker 5: How hard did they hit us? Well, we hit them
- 41:21Speaker 5: pretty hard. And they won't give up because the IRGC
- 41:25Speaker 5: is hated by their own people. They have no choice
- 41:28Speaker 5: but to fight to the bitter end. So we've got
- 41:31Speaker 5: to just completely take them out and send that country
- 41:34Speaker 5: back a thousand years. That's all we have.
- 41:40Speaker 1: We shall see if that happens. We shall see.
- 41:45Speaker 5: We'll say the B-52s haven't come out yet.
- 41:49Speaker 1: We shall see.
- 41:50Speaker 2: It hasn't worked at this point in time. And you
- 41:55Speaker 2: could be paying a lot more. You could be a
- 41:57Speaker 2: lot poorer as this goes on.
- 42:00Speaker 5: I want justice.
- 42:02Speaker 4: All right.
- 42:03Speaker 1: We shall see.
- 42:04Speaker 6: Church is out.
- 42:05Speaker 5: All right.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I got to pause. We'll be right back. If you're
- 42:07Speaker 1: in the market for tires, the time.
