- 0:00Speaker 1: The following program is produced by the tech Talk Radio Network.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I don't want to buy just the absolute primo system
- 0:06Speaker 2: out today. That usually wastes money. So I'll be doing
- 0:08Speaker 2: some digital photography, maybe some video editing. Don't do any
- 0:12Speaker 2: gaming at all, so I don't have that demand on
- 0:14Speaker 2: the computer. It's wondering what you guys would suggest, either
- 0:16Speaker 2: in brands or just in general speed. And where do
- 0:19Speaker 2: you go to get the maximum bang for the buck
- 0:21Speaker 2: right now?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Sounds like you want to max. Welcome to another episode
- 0:30Speaker 1: of tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Bye, I'm Sean de Weird, I'm Matt Jones, Dan, I'm slick.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And Justin is out today, something about going to the mountains.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You went camping or something like that.
- 0:43Speaker 3: He went camping, And so far, every picture that I've
- 0:46Speaker 3: seen of Eric has has not shown a please face
- 0:48Speaker 3: to be out camping. Almongst the great outdoors.
- 0:52Speaker 1: You know, it's hard to convince kids with all the
- 0:55Speaker 1: technology we have today that being out in the outgrade
- 0:57Speaker 1: outdoors is a fun thing to do.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Look a stick, Look it's another stick.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Hey, I really enjoy camping, so I take offense.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and now have you taken the kids out camping, though,
- 1:11Speaker 1: Do they appreciate the.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Experience as much as they can? For me three and
- 1:15Speaker 5: six months old, Oh yeah, so we took So I
- 1:21Speaker 5: grew up camping, right. My mom was camping when she's
- 1:23Speaker 5: praying with me. I've been camping my entire life. So
- 1:26Speaker 5: we went camping. When Cad was pregnant with Max, we
- 1:29Speaker 5: went camping. So like three weeks after Max was born,
- 1:34Speaker 5: two weeks after, Daniel's like, we've been camping. We camp
- 1:37Speaker 5: all the time.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You're not how many times have you been camping?
- 1:41Speaker 4: Like I'm gonna say, I think honestly that that can
- 1:44Speaker 4: qualify as camping too. One is early teens in Albuquerque
- 1:49Speaker 4: near the Rio Grande boy Scouts and then once uh,
- 1:54Speaker 4: some crew we went from power fourteen fifty we went
- 1:56Speaker 4: up to I want to say Mount Lemon, I don't.
- 1:58Speaker 4: We went up to one in our mount here whatever,
- 2:01Speaker 4: whatever one we got.
- 2:02Speaker 1: It's like a radio promotion for no.
- 2:04Speaker 4: We're just one weekend, you know, somebody did their last
- 2:07Speaker 4: their last shift of the afternoon and we were hanging
- 2:10Speaker 4: around somebody's house, uh, and we were like, hey, you know,
- 2:14Speaker 4: and even our wives and a girlfriends are there. This
- 2:17Speaker 4: was amazing. We pulled this off. You know what, let's
- 2:20Speaker 4: just go camping and we took off.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Wow, let us Really they thought you were never coming back. Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 4: I do have a question for Sean, serious question. So
- 2:29Speaker 4: when you go camping being a tech guy, you know,
- 2:31Speaker 4: I do envy anyone that could go camping. I do
- 2:33Speaker 4: envy because that's I mean, that's literally living off the land.
- 2:36Speaker 4: I really do. I wish I could do it. I
- 2:37Speaker 4: wish I knew. I wish I knew how to do it.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I wish I had the skills. But when you do
- 2:41Speaker 4: go camping, what tech are you taking with you?
- 2:44Speaker 5: So we've talked about this on the shelf, right, So
- 2:46Speaker 5: I've done a variety of camping, right, I've done ted camping,
- 2:50Speaker 5: I've done camper camping, I've done our V motor home camping.
- 2:54Speaker 5: I've done I've done all the gamut. Right, But in
- 2:57Speaker 5: terms of tech, right, it just pens. It depends on
- 2:58Speaker 5: what I'm doing, where I'm going, how much you can carry,
- 3:01Speaker 5: how much you want to take with you. If we're
- 3:03Speaker 5: going right now, if I were to pack up my camper,
- 3:06Speaker 5: the technology I would take with me would be I
- 3:08Speaker 5: have my camera bank with my two dieselars, in it
- 3:10Speaker 5: because I want to. If I'm going camping, I'm probably
- 3:13Speaker 5: gonna be shooting some nighttime stuff. I'm taking, you know,
- 3:15Speaker 5: my power inverter so I can be powered and plug
- 3:18Speaker 5: into the solar and charge it. I don't have a drone,
- 3:20Speaker 5: so I'm not taking one of those. And then I
- 3:22Speaker 5: had done this when we went traveling out west, just
- 3:25Speaker 5: in case the weather got bad and we were stuck inside.
- 3:28Speaker 5: I built my own mobile flex server on a Raspberry
- 3:31Speaker 5: Pie and a two terabyte hard drive with a tp
- 3:35Speaker 5: link mini AP so it's a single It's literally a
- 3:40Speaker 5: two inch by two inch q that it's the ext
- 3:42Speaker 5: point with one E threat point in it. So I
- 3:43Speaker 5: turn it on, plug in the pie boom flex server
- 3:46Speaker 5: on the goal bad, it all runs off. It all
- 3:48Speaker 5: runs off twelve.
- 3:49Speaker 1: So you get on the great outdoors and you watch content.
- 3:52Speaker 5: Hey, I will say when we when we went up
- 3:55Speaker 5: to the up the Upperts Liver for those you don't
- 3:57Speaker 5: live the Michigan then is a Michigan and it rained
- 3:59Speaker 5: for like a data half and Max were stuck inside
- 4:02Speaker 5: and wanted to watch Lightning McQueen on YouTube because it's
- 4:04Speaker 5: pretty wants to watch right now? Yeah, I was able
- 4:06Speaker 5: to rip some of those videos from YouTube futrom my
- 4:10Speaker 5: plex server.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Perfect. Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 5: So then I just pull out the iPad, connect to
- 4:14Speaker 5: the wire, the TP link, and I've got access to
- 4:18Speaker 5: all those videos that I've put on there for him
- 4:20Speaker 5: to watch.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Oh that's cool. It keeps them entertained, so at least, yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: in that situation.
- 4:24Speaker 5: So so, yeah, so I take a lot of photography
- 4:27Speaker 5: tech with me. Right, I'm still pretty heavily into analog
- 4:30Speaker 5: film shooting, so I had I took I take my
- 4:32Speaker 5: Minolta X seven hundred with me. I have my Polaroid camera.
- 4:36Speaker 5: I've got probably like seven cameras that I take with me.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Right, so you're still doing you're still developing film.
- 4:43Speaker 5: I ship it off to Indie Film Labs, which is
- 4:46Speaker 5: about ten to twelve dollars per role, depending on the
- 4:49Speaker 5: type of film you send them.
- 4:50Speaker 1: But it has a real different looks Like, well, a
- 4:53Speaker 1: couple a few weeks ago, we took a look at
- 4:56Speaker 1: some of the photos that Sean had taken and it
- 4:58Speaker 1: just actually, these are photos you had developed that were
- 5:02Speaker 1: what twenty years old?
- 5:03Speaker 5: I mean yeah, so there were So I shot a
- 5:06Speaker 5: whole two new roles of film that were probably the
- 5:09Speaker 5: roles of film were probably twenty years old. But then
- 5:12Speaker 5: I also had a disposable film camera that had pictures
- 5:15Speaker 5: on it from I don't even know when, Yeah, and
- 5:17Speaker 5: I just shipped that in and they developed it, and
- 5:19Speaker 5: that one had been the film had had some degradation.
- 5:23Speaker 5: I don't know if it was mold or whatever, but
- 5:25Speaker 5: they didn't come back looking super great. But the stuff
- 5:28Speaker 5: I shot on my I'm Minolta, the two roles looked
- 5:32Speaker 5: really good and I got some, like some of my
- 5:34Speaker 5: favorite pictures from that trip around that from that camera
- 5:36Speaker 5: versus my DSLR.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You know, it's funny if you think about it, though, Sean,
- 5:41Speaker 1: with the pictures that we take with film, it's a
- 5:45Speaker 1: different look. You know, now you look at it. AI
- 5:47Speaker 1: is going to be able to take that and you
- 5:49Speaker 1: could tell it. You can have AI apply a filter
- 5:52Speaker 1: that would say a code chrome look, or you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: an early film look.
- 5:57Speaker 5: I have a philosophy in my photography that I do.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I don't shoot to edit and post there you go, right.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I shoot to post, like if I were to put
- 6:06Speaker 5: it on the internet, like say shoot the post, I
- 6:08Speaker 5: take a picture. I do very minimal editing, right, I
- 6:12Speaker 5: shoot in raw on my DSLR. So yeah, okay, the
- 6:16Speaker 5: raw images look pretty flat, right, They're meant to be
- 6:18Speaker 5: enhanced by bringing out the contrast, the highs the lows,
- 6:22Speaker 5: a little bit of trauma, you know. But I don't
- 6:25Speaker 5: do any other post editing. I have never gotten into it.
- 6:28Speaker 5: I'm not good at it because I've never spent the
- 6:30Speaker 5: time to do it, because that takes away the value
- 6:33Speaker 5: of the arts. To me, AI is taking the human
- 6:37Speaker 5: experience out of being a human being. That's my philosophy
- 6:40Speaker 5: on AI. There are benefits to AI, but that is
- 6:43Speaker 5: to me, the biggest downfall of this is that the
- 6:46Speaker 5: human experience needs to create things. We need to create things.
- 6:50Speaker 5: We need to do things that take our mind and
- 6:52Speaker 5: put emotion to them and put them on a medium. Drawings, photography, art, music,
- 6:57Speaker 5: et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. If you start taking
- 6:59Speaker 5: that away from people, I don't know what that's going
- 7:01Speaker 5: to do. AI hasn't been around for a whole, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 5: a whole long time. But other things that have taken
- 7:06Speaker 5: away creativity people have you seen terrible things happen?
- 7:10Speaker 1: And I agree with you, Sean, but you look at
- 7:12Speaker 1: how technology has progressed when we were shooting film and
- 7:17Speaker 1: you would get it processed and there was an excitement about,
- 7:20Speaker 1: you know, opening up and seeing the photos. And then
- 7:22Speaker 1: photoshop comes along or corral even you could do things
- 7:26Speaker 1: with it, you could manipulate and then walk them comes
- 7:28Speaker 1: out with these great tablets to make it easier. And
- 7:31Speaker 1: now we're at the stage where, yeah, we've done a
- 7:34Speaker 1: lot with that, and there's some great photoshop artists that
- 7:36Speaker 1: are out there that have taken photos that they've shot
- 7:39Speaker 1: and enhanced them incredibly using light room and photoshop. But
- 7:44Speaker 1: now we have AI doing it for us.
- 7:47Speaker 5: And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the
- 7:49Speaker 5: digital art isn't the thing. Digital art is very much
- 7:52Speaker 5: a thing, right. You see in tons of video games.
- 7:54Speaker 5: There are a lot of great video game art, video
- 7:56Speaker 5: game artists and digital artists that have created beautiful and
- 7:58Speaker 5: engaging and just amazing content. AI is still taking out
- 8:02Speaker 5: the human experience, right.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I'm entirely with Sean on this one. One of the
- 8:06Speaker 3: great quotes that I saw the other day was AI
- 8:09Speaker 3: was supposed to make my work and job easier so
- 8:13Speaker 3: I could focus on my art and craft, not take
- 8:17Speaker 3: my art and craft out of my hands, so I
- 8:20Speaker 3: could only focus on my job.
- 8:21Speaker 5: That's a great quote. Send me that quote wherever you
- 8:24Speaker 5: found it from, said it to me, because whoever wrote
- 8:25Speaker 5: that quote, I want to meet them in person.
- 8:26Speaker 4: I want to copy that too.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it really does. Like you know, in my
- 8:32Speaker 3: last job, you know, we had AI starting to roll
- 8:34Speaker 3: out on you know, any any vendor software. They were like, well,
- 8:38Speaker 3: with our new you know, Charlotte AI component, it was
- 8:41Speaker 3: you know, I could just be like, hey, do this
- 8:43Speaker 3: and that and put these guys in these groups and
- 8:46Speaker 3: let me know what it's all done. And that ask
- 8:48Speaker 3: might have taken me, you know, half an hour normally
- 8:51Speaker 3: I asked it to do it, and it's just like
- 8:52Speaker 3: bit back, all right, I'm done. That's what AI was
- 8:55Speaker 3: supposed to be for. It was supposed to be like, hey,
- 8:57Speaker 3: make our jobs easier, make manufacturing easier. Take us out
- 9:01Speaker 3: of the places that you know, we're spending forty plus
- 9:04Speaker 3: hours a week at so I can go camping, I
- 9:07Speaker 3: can draw, I can do photos to where we don't
- 9:11Speaker 3: have to live to work like we you know, we
- 9:16Speaker 3: we just work becomes a small component of our lives.
- 9:19Speaker 3: So there was actually the CEO of Nvidia equated where
- 9:22Speaker 3: we are with AI to the next Industrial Revolution. I
- 9:26Speaker 3: think we talked about this last show that you know,
- 9:29Speaker 3: the original industrial revolution was because you had before you
- 9:33Speaker 3: didn't have, you know, the standardization of parts. Like people
- 9:37Speaker 3: are like, oh, Henry Ford, creator of the automobile. He
- 9:40Speaker 3: was not the creator of the automobile. They were already
- 9:43Speaker 3: making them in Europe well before that. He was the
- 9:46Speaker 3: guy who perfected the assembly line. So every model T
- 9:50Speaker 3: that came off the line was like everyone before, everyone after.
- 9:54Speaker 3: He could just crank it out by volume. We are
- 9:56Speaker 3: now at the technological equivalence of that with AI. Like,
- 10:00Speaker 3: for example, I was applying to jobs today and my
- 10:04Speaker 3: wife was like, hey, you know, I know you normally
- 10:06Speaker 3: don't do it. Make sure you do a cover letter.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I went in to chat GPT and I was like, hey,
- 10:11Speaker 3: here's my resume, here's the link to the job posting.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I need a cover letter, and it would just boom,
- 10:17Speaker 3: here's your cover letter. And it would even pull like,
- 10:19Speaker 3: you know, it's my name, contact information, all that, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 3: hiring manager at, and it's the company and it pulled
- 10:26Speaker 3: the address and everything out of there, populated customized it.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I had six cover letters done in fifteen minutes.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, cool.
- 10:34Speaker 4: But when you look at the cover letter, what did
- 10:36Speaker 4: you how did you feel about each individual letter?
- 10:38Speaker 3: Though each individual letter was different, customized to the position,
- 10:43Speaker 3: customized to the company, customized to what the company does,
- 10:47Speaker 3: their values, what they're trying to push, what industry they
- 10:51Speaker 3: were in. It was not a boiler plate like if
- 10:53Speaker 3: I done it, I'd had like this boilerplate letter with
- 10:56Speaker 3: like a couple of sentences that I would change in between.
- 10:59Speaker 3: The ball just been like that's good enough, all.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, that's fine.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I don't do cover letters like I never have this one.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It's just like I'm reading this and I'm like, man,
- 11:08Speaker 3: that's really good. Like that's you start using I'll tell
- 11:13Speaker 3: you I could start using AI more.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Man, this is nice.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It's like there are a lot of benefit right, So
- 11:20Speaker 1: I got to.
- 11:21Speaker 5: I got added on as part of the chat GPT
- 11:23Speaker 5: pilot of Campus in a RAM, so I've been playing
- 11:27Speaker 5: with it at work. There are be like I was
- 11:30Speaker 5: anti AI everything when it first, Like when it was
- 11:33Speaker 5: the rage, right you guys know about that. I was like, no,
- 11:35Speaker 5: I'm not never gonna do chat GPT, not doing it.
- 11:39Speaker 5: But then I was like, how could I It started
- 11:41Speaker 5: coming up where we were doing all this cloud production
- 11:43Speaker 5: and we're doing all this stuff, and how can AI
- 11:44Speaker 5: help us advance the technology in our work? And I
- 11:48Speaker 5: saw value in that. So that's where my focus with
- 11:51Speaker 5: AI is is focusing on how I can use it
- 11:53Speaker 5: to enhance my work experience. I am using it on
- 11:57Speaker 5: a personal level to do some creative storytelling, like you know,
- 12:01Speaker 5: I've done it with my Dungeon and Dragons campaigns where
- 12:04Speaker 5: I've taken the auto transcript and generating a short story format,
- 12:07Speaker 5: which has been awesome. And I've been learning how to
- 12:10Speaker 5: properly prompt the j GPT to give me what I want,
- 12:15Speaker 5: which in turn has helped me prompt it better at
- 12:18Speaker 5: getting the things done I wanted to do for work.
- 12:21Speaker 5: So using AI has been beneficial to me, but I
- 12:26Speaker 5: still am hard pressed to try and do music, photography,
- 12:32Speaker 5: other artworks or like just because it doesn't sit well
- 12:36Speaker 5: with me.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I'll tell you it's been interesting, and some of you
- 12:39Speaker 1: know that I've been working with middle school and high
- 12:42Speaker 1: school kids about creating podcasts and the program has been great.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It's worked out really well. And I was talking to
- 12:50Speaker 1: a principal the other day who said, you know, I
- 12:53Speaker 1: would love the idea about possibly you coming in and
- 12:56Speaker 1: teaching them about technology and you know, creating digital technology
- 13:02Speaker 1: and using AI. And I told the principle. I said,
- 13:07Speaker 1: if we were to teach the kids number one AI,
- 13:11Speaker 1: the coursework would change within about five six months. And
- 13:16Speaker 1: the only thing we can teach with AI is how
- 13:19Speaker 1: to summon the AI that they need. Like the problem
- 13:25Speaker 1: a lot of people have when it comes to some
- 13:26Speaker 1: of the AI that's out there and maybe whether it
- 13:28Speaker 1: be gpt DALLY three or some of the others that
- 13:32Speaker 1: are available, is getting the right results by asking the
- 13:38Speaker 1: proper questions. And the better the question, the more streamlined,
- 13:44Speaker 1: the better the result you're going to get. And that's
- 13:48Speaker 1: what some people are not understanding about it. However, I
- 13:52Speaker 1: will tell you and Slick, I know that this will
- 13:54Speaker 1: kind of you. Being from a radio broadcasting background, I
- 13:59Speaker 1: fell down the rabbit. This past week, Google has launched
- 14:03Speaker 1: something new called Notebook LM. It's actually who it's experimental
- 14:07Speaker 1: and if you have a Google account you can try
- 14:09Speaker 1: this experimental AI, which is an AI powered tool that
- 14:13Speaker 1: is designed to help users understand information by summarizing notes
- 14:18Speaker 1: and sources so you get a bunch of notes, you
- 14:20Speaker 1: throw them into this notebook LM, and you have it
- 14:23Speaker 1: create a synopsis, a summary, or even a couple of
- 14:29Speaker 1: people talking about it like a podcast. That what I
- 14:33Speaker 1: created sounded very similar to what would be morning radio
- 14:37Speaker 1: or maybe even a podcast itself. And again it could help,
- 14:42Speaker 1: they say students and studying. It works by training a
- 14:45Speaker 1: specialized AI in the documents that users upload. THEAI then
- 14:50Speaker 1: becomes an expert on the user's documents that can provide
- 14:53Speaker 1: specific resources. So I'm gonna play a little audio for you. Now.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Remember I took notes and I uploaded them, and these
- 15:01Speaker 1: are two AI people talking about what I had uploaded.
- 15:07Speaker 6: All right, everybody, deep dive time you ready. We've got
- 15:09Speaker 6: a wild mix of stuff to unpack today.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Definitely should be interesting.
- 15:13Speaker 6: I was just looking over these new snippets and the
- 15:15Speaker 6: event you sent looks like we're going to be talking
- 15:17Speaker 6: about everything from like AD overload to at ownership and
- 15:24Speaker 6: then to top it off, a free local event this weekend.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Sounds like a plan.
- 15:28Speaker 6: So let's jump right in. Huh. This first one, this
- 15:30Speaker 6: Business Journal's article right it says we're hit wow.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Get this.
- 15:33Speaker 6: Four thousand ads every single day.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Now, remember, all I did was uploaded the story about
- 15:39Speaker 1: the four thousand ads, and that was it. That's all
- 15:43Speaker 1: I did. I uploaded a bunch of stories and then
- 15:45Speaker 1: I said a story about an event that happened green
- 15:48Speaker 1: Egg deities.
- 15:48Speaker 3: What about you, though, what workshops are you most excited about?
- 15:51Speaker 6: Oh Man, tough call, But honestly, those computer basics and
- 15:56Speaker 6: online safety ones sound super useful, especially these days.
- 16:00Speaker 5: You know no doubt about it? Did you?
- 16:03Speaker 1: So you listen to the AI Did that not sound
- 16:06Speaker 1: like two real people.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Have from from listening to it the way there, the
- 16:12Speaker 5: way their cadence was totally not human to me.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Real right now, generally I would agree with you this
- 16:19Speaker 4: one could have fooled me now because the other ones
- 16:22Speaker 4: I got kind of catched. This one could have fooled me.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Now that that that fell firmly in the uncanny valley
- 16:27Speaker 3: for me, that it was just I was shown like
- 16:30Speaker 3: the cadences, the pauses and the breaks were just like
- 16:34Speaker 3: just that, those couple degrees off, just like I'm.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Like, ah, now, now let me say this. Behind what
- 16:41Speaker 4: I just said, this one could have fooled me. But
- 16:43Speaker 4: I wouldn't listen to these two because I don't listen
- 16:46Speaker 4: to people on the radio like this. Already. There are
- 16:49Speaker 4: people like this on air already. I can't stand and
- 16:54Speaker 4: I don't listen to their shows.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I was driving on Friday morning or Thursday morning, listening
- 17:00Speaker 1: to a show very similar to this, and I'm ember
- 17:04Speaker 1: thinking this. When I did this on Thursday or Friday
- 17:08Speaker 1: Friday morning, I remember thinking, well, that sounds like that
- 17:11Speaker 1: show I listened to yesterday. But the pauses, to me
- 17:14Speaker 1: are what made it give it that little edge of
- 17:18Speaker 1: human of humanity. So I don't know, I don't know
- 17:22Speaker 1: we're listening to we're listening to the same thing, but
- 17:24Speaker 1: maybe it is two different things. It just it was
- 17:27Speaker 1: just so creepy.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Now that the thing that makes this extra creepy for
- 17:30Speaker 3: me is have have you guys ever heard of the
- 17:33Speaker 3: dead Internet theory?
- 17:34Speaker 4: No?
- 17:36Speaker 3: Okay, so this is I please listeners be aware. I
- 17:39Speaker 3: am putting on my tinfoil hat for this, So I'm
- 17:42Speaker 3: just gonna throw that out there. The dead Internet theory
- 17:45Speaker 3: started around twenty twenty one. Of course, it started with
- 17:49Speaker 3: like a four Chan post, which you know, fastioning of
- 17:52Speaker 3: good information there. But the dead Internet theory was basically
- 17:56Speaker 3: that actual organic human interaction on the Internet that has
- 18:00Speaker 3: been on a steady decline, replaced instead with bots and
- 18:05Speaker 3: algorithmically created content, so that you have no idea because
- 18:11Speaker 3: of the pure anonymity of the Internet, for example, for Chune,
- 18:15Speaker 3: Reddit coorra sites like that where it's just you pick
- 18:18Speaker 3: a user name and that's it, that you have no
- 18:20Speaker 3: idea whether you're actually interfacing with an organic, live human
- 18:25Speaker 3: being or a bot created by somebody else. And now
- 18:30Speaker 3: we've got this stuff that can create you know, a
- 18:34Speaker 3: pseudo sounding radio show to go on top of it.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I'm just like, oh, this is great. I'm not gonna
- 18:39Speaker 3: wake up at three a m. With an existential crisis
- 18:41Speaker 3: of what's actually real.
- 18:42Speaker 1: That's not gonna happen at all.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Hey, thanks Andy, I really appreciate that one. Like people
- 18:48Speaker 3: are like, ah, the dead Internet. There is just I'm like,
- 18:51Speaker 3: it might have been, but we are. Somebody looked at
- 18:55Speaker 3: that in twenty one and was like, oh damn, that's
- 18:57Speaker 3: like a really good idea.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Sleep again. We bet if like AI got real.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And now somebody at Google is just like, oh, yep, yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 3: let me just make a product that can do that
- 19:08Speaker 3: for you. That's fine.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I tested this out by uploading a story from last
- 19:13Speaker 1: year about a fireworks festival that happens here in Saladita
- 19:18Speaker 1: And it was just a short little blurb, a press release,
- 19:22Speaker 1: and it took the two people talking about the event. Well,
- 19:25Speaker 1: it blew me away. Is they pronounced sabwdita the correct way.
- 19:29Speaker 1: A lot of people call it serena or are they
- 19:31Speaker 1: give it a different name, but they actually pronounced it right.
- 19:34Speaker 1: And again that that just blew me away. It makes
- 19:38Speaker 1: me wonder in light of radio, and you know, radio
- 19:41Speaker 1: is competing with so many different technologies now, radio broadcasting slick.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I just wonder. You know, you've heard stories about there's
- 19:49Speaker 1: one big, huge radio group out there that has had
- 19:52Speaker 1: you know AI DJs that has been doing that. You
- 19:55Speaker 1: know radio station says, well, we serve the market. Could
- 19:59Speaker 1: take that uploaded and it could be running on the air,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and you know some people wouldn't even have any idea
- 20:06Speaker 1: that that's what was going on.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's sad. That's sad. By the way, matter
- 20:11Speaker 4: you awake or is this are you asleep? Look at
- 20:15Speaker 4: the look on this face.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I love that you're talking about.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Yeah, when humanity is dead and gone, there's still going
- 20:23Speaker 3: to be like podcast getting pumped out, radio broadcast going.
- 20:27Speaker 3: The aliens are going to show up and just be like, dude,
- 20:29Speaker 3: we got to get off this planet. I got to
- 20:31Speaker 3: think through some things now just says I did not
- 20:33Speaker 3: sign up for this tonight.
- 20:34Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna try and Sean bumped out. We're
- 20:37Speaker 1: not sure what happened to a signal. We're gonna try
- 20:39Speaker 1: and see if we get shown back. We do have
- 20:40Speaker 1: to take a quick break. We'll be back with more
- 20:42Speaker 1: of tech talk Radio.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Matt Jones.
- 20:46Speaker 4: And I am Slick. Our website is tech talk radio
- 20:49Speaker 4: dot com.
- 20:50Speaker 3: We'll be right back now back to tech talk Radio.
- 20:56Speaker 3: So I was talking earlier about, you know, with AI
- 21:00Speaker 3: creating the cover letters, things like that, My wife and
- 21:03Speaker 3: I have found this this awesome dog park shout up
- 21:06Speaker 3: to skip Town, Denver. This this place is like it
- 21:11Speaker 3: sandals for dogs, like they do grooming, training, boarding, daycare.
- 21:20Speaker 3: And then they've got this giant open dog park that
- 21:22Speaker 3: now also has a splash pad. The whole thing's turfed.
- 21:26Speaker 3: There's like six attendants out at anytime. They have a
- 21:29Speaker 3: rule that like no waste of any kind can be
- 21:32Speaker 3: on the turf for more than thirty seconds.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 21:35Speaker 3: So like you'll see a dog like mark a table
- 21:37Speaker 3: and somebody's immediately like following right behind, sprays it up
- 21:41Speaker 3: and starting Wednesday they'll have a full bar. Well hopefully
- 21:45Speaker 3: Wednesday they'll have a full bar. And they currently have
- 21:47Speaker 3: a coffee shop. The reason I bring this up is
- 21:49Speaker 3: because that's where I've actually been working out of for
- 21:52Speaker 3: like the past week. We'll get up, load up one
- 21:55Speaker 3: of the dogs, and we'll take them and just let
- 21:56Speaker 3: them go play for like three four hours.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Cool.
- 21:58Speaker 3: That's also why I bought my MacBook, my MacBook Pro,
- 22:01Speaker 3: so I had something to do that with. But I
- 22:04Speaker 3: discovered when I was there after like the first trip,
- 22:06Speaker 3: I was like one monitor, the nerd that I am
- 22:10Speaker 3: does not cut it. So I I had mentioned that
- 22:13Speaker 3: to Lee, and because uh, you know, Google is ever
- 22:17Speaker 3: present and always watching, I had an ad targeted to
- 22:20Speaker 3: me a few days later, and I just got the
- 22:22Speaker 3: product over the weekend. And it's called mon Duo m
- 22:26Speaker 3: O n duo all right, Onduo dot com?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Do you have a website? Or is monduo dot co?
- 22:32Speaker 1: All right? Cool?
- 22:34Speaker 3: And it comes in two versions. It comes in a
- 22:36Speaker 3: version for fourteen inch laptops and a version for sixteen
- 22:38Speaker 3: inch laptops. Mon Duo is short for Monitor Duo, so
- 22:43Speaker 3: it's a little thicker than the current MacBook pros. But
- 22:47Speaker 3: it basically you fold it open and then it like
- 22:51Speaker 3: expands a bit and then clamps onto your monitor screen.
- 22:54Speaker 3: You plug in two USBC cables and now I have
- 22:57Speaker 3: three monitors anywhere.
- 22:59Speaker 1: I got oh wow.
- 23:02Speaker 3: And this, I will admit it is not the cheapest
- 23:05Speaker 3: of the solutions that it was like seven fifty for
- 23:08Speaker 3: the whole thing, but they're one hundred and forty four
- 23:11Speaker 3: hertz five hundred knits for brightness, and they've actually got
- 23:17Speaker 3: like the full resolution and can match or even surpass
- 23:20Speaker 3: the brand new retina display on my MacBook Pro.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Oh wow. So they're not cheap. I mean they're cheap quality.
- 23:26Speaker 1: They're built well.
- 23:27Speaker 3: They're built very well. It's got a great feel to it.
- 23:30Speaker 3: It's not one of those where like when you open it,
- 23:32Speaker 3: you're like this is gonna shattered in like two seconds,
- 23:35Speaker 3: and you know clamps on that you can either use
- 23:38Speaker 3: USBC or Thunderbolt four I think is the other version.
- 23:42Speaker 3: But then each side also has Mini HDMI if you
- 23:46Speaker 3: need that as well, and with the MacBook Pro. And
- 23:50Speaker 3: as you guys know how many times I've railed against
- 23:53Speaker 3: Mac stuff against Apple stuff on this show.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It is my shtick.
- 23:57Speaker 3: It's right there with Justin's. But this was great because
- 24:00Speaker 3: I just plugged it in on both sides. It was
- 24:02Speaker 3: instantly recognized, instantly expanded the displays, set the resolution in
- 24:07Speaker 3: brightness to match everything else, adopted over my wallpaper. And
- 24:12Speaker 3: now I'm sitting there at the table in this dog
- 24:14Speaker 3: park watching my dog have a ball with three monitors
- 24:17Speaker 3: spread straight across, and they're all the same size, in
- 24:20Speaker 3: a nice beautiful line. And anyone who has set up
- 24:23Speaker 3: multiple monitors before, no is one of the greatest pet
- 24:26Speaker 3: peeves is when you've got like two in a line
- 24:27Speaker 3: and that third one's just sitting like that little bit lower. Yes,
- 24:30Speaker 3: oh yeah, frustrated, and you're just like, oh great, I
- 24:33Speaker 3: gotta redrill the whole mount into the wall or find
- 24:36Speaker 3: some cardboard or but they're perfectly lined supported. It's got
- 24:39Speaker 3: a little kickstand. I'm I can do full work remote anywhere.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Now with those three monitors.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Are the kickstands on the back of each of those
- 24:47Speaker 4: two monitors? Do they have one freach?
- 24:50Speaker 3: It's just in the middle and it just it's it
- 24:54Speaker 3: folds down and then sits in place. And just because
- 24:57Speaker 3: you have the clamp providing pressure on the sides, gravity
- 25:01Speaker 3: having it at the top and that little kickstand is
- 25:03Speaker 3: just a little bit of extra. I mean, my my
- 25:06Speaker 3: dog was running around bumping the table the whole time,
- 25:08Speaker 3: and the monitors were steady.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Man, it was it was great.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Can you move them back and forward with the kickstand?
- 25:14Speaker 4: Can you adjust how you know how far back it
- 25:17Speaker 4: leans or how close it comes?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you can't do where you have like
- 25:22Speaker 3: one close to you and then like the other two
- 25:24Speaker 3: are like sitting six inches back or anything like that.
- 25:26Speaker 1: It does.
- 25:27Speaker 3: It does like wing in and out, So it can
- 25:29Speaker 3: either be in a straight line or kind of a
- 25:31Speaker 3: curve if that's what you talk about.
- 25:34Speaker 5: You can do that.
- 25:35Speaker 3: So you can just have like three straight across. You
- 25:37Speaker 3: can have them kind of bend in and have you know,
- 25:39Speaker 3: your own little laptop cave sitting there in the coffee shop.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I'm an internet troll. Leave me alone, which is definitely
- 25:46Speaker 3: what somebody called me out on today. They were like,
- 25:48Speaker 3: so you brought the basement with you, And I was like,
- 25:50Speaker 3: first off, well done. Second off one called for like,
- 25:56Speaker 3: how dare you say something so blatantly accurate?
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
- 26:00Speaker 4: You know.
- 26:00Speaker 1: One of the things I loved about a dual monitors
- 26:03Speaker 1: set up. And I haven't tried the three yet. And
- 26:05Speaker 1: I've got two different monitors that I've tried to make
- 26:08Speaker 1: it happen. The first one I really like. But is
- 26:11Speaker 1: being able to know. Some people say they just want
- 26:13Speaker 1: to extend their desktop. Others say they want to have
- 26:17Speaker 1: a separate screen so somebody could watch, you know, Netflix,
- 26:20Speaker 1: or could watch peacock Er or use that for graphs
- 26:24Speaker 1: and have maybe be editing something in the middle. I
- 26:28Speaker 1: like to extend the desktop. Can you do all three?
- 26:32Speaker 1: So you have a left screen, middle screen, right screen.
- 26:35Speaker 1: It's all one big, gigantic desktop that you can move
- 26:38Speaker 1: back and forth.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I mean that's that's how it set up. When I
- 26:41Speaker 3: plugged it all in. It doesn't read it as one
- 26:44Speaker 3: one unit what you're talking about, like, for example, the desktop. Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 3: from my from my desktop, because I have I have
- 26:52Speaker 3: two monitors.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I used to have three.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Now my wife has her own computer and I have
- 26:55Speaker 3: two monitors. Guess we're the third one too, mm hmm.
- 26:58Speaker 3: But when I had three, a MD has something called ifinity,
- 27:04Speaker 3: and on software side, it'll actually group all those together
- 27:08Speaker 3: as one solid display.
- 27:10Speaker 1: It does it.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I would have to tweak around because that's more of
- 27:13Speaker 3: a software thing on the Mac side, but it does.
- 27:16Speaker 3: You have monitor one, two, three, and I can seamlessly
- 27:19Speaker 3: drag between all three of those windows like it's nothing.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Now you're using the fourteen inch MacBook. I know on
- 27:26Speaker 4: the sixteen inch MacBooks they have on each side, left
- 27:29Speaker 4: and right they have two USB c ports. What do
- 27:32Speaker 4: you have the same? I have the same.
- 27:35Speaker 3: The Mandua comes with a short USBC or thunderbolt. It's
- 27:39Speaker 3: the same bloody thing. They have a short cable and
- 27:43Speaker 3: a long cable, so you can do like you can.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I just use the two on the left to keep
- 27:48Speaker 3: the right side free so I'm right handed if I
- 27:51Speaker 3: want to plug a flash drive or something in, so
- 27:52Speaker 3: I do the long cable from the right monitor, looping around,
- 27:56Speaker 3: plugging in on the left side, and then the short
- 27:58Speaker 3: cable from the left side of the left side, and
- 28:01Speaker 3: that still leaves me a free USB sport on the
- 28:04Speaker 3: right side of my MacBook Pro.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Are you thinking about getting now, like a like a
- 28:09Speaker 1: hub so that you could add more devices? Because that's
- 28:12Speaker 1: that's the thing we're seeing, especially with laptops and mobile devices.
- 28:15Speaker 1: You're not going to find a whole bunch of usbc's, usba's,
- 28:19Speaker 1: you know, these types of connectors. So maybe a hub
- 28:23Speaker 1: to extend your connections and maybe get more.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Don't need to because they have two USB sports per
- 28:30Speaker 3: monitor per side.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Oh wow, so you plug those in, but then you've
- 28:34Speaker 1: got almost like a hub on that monitor itself. Yep, Okay,
- 28:37Speaker 1: now I understand the price too.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I was looking at that thing and I was like, oh,
- 28:41Speaker 3: well done, Google ad algorithm.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'm going to give you the w on this one.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Like you are creepy, but today you succeeded, very very
- 28:50Speaker 3: well done.
- 28:51Speaker 1: That is good. So I wanted to share with you
- 28:53Speaker 1: too that today was the last day for my Android venture.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Going to the Google sold nine XL the pro nine Excel,
- 29:02Speaker 1: and you know, I was told, if you're going to
- 29:04Speaker 1: return it, you have fifteen days. Today was the day,
- 29:07Speaker 1: and over the weekend I made sure that I got
- 29:11Speaker 1: the heck use out of it. I was using the
- 29:15Speaker 1: AI on that and I was comparing it, so i'd have,
- 29:18Speaker 1: you know, my iPhone sitting next to it, and I'd
- 29:21Speaker 1: ask a question to the Google Ai which is Gebini,
- 29:25Speaker 1: and it would give me a really great answer, concise
- 29:30Speaker 1: the info I needed. I would ask Siri and it
- 29:34Speaker 1: would pop up a little little scream, not even repeat
- 29:37Speaker 1: what I was asking, and I'd have to read it
- 29:40Speaker 1: if I wanted to. And slick. I don't know about you,
- 29:43Speaker 1: but you know, when you're doing a radio show and
- 29:46Speaker 1: you're doing show preps, sometimes you just blurt out, Hey,
- 29:48Speaker 1: tell me this, and it gives you the answer. I
- 29:50Speaker 1: don't want to have to pick up the phone and
- 29:51Speaker 1: read it, and the whole bit. The other reason going
- 29:55Speaker 1: the other reason, the call screener. Uh huh. Apple Yeah,
- 30:00Speaker 1: does not have a call screener, at least right now.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I don't know if they do with the new sixteen.
- 30:06Speaker 1: But the call screener in this is great. I've been
- 30:08Speaker 1: using it and I love it. You know, you just
- 30:12Speaker 1: you can push a button. It will screen your call
- 30:14Speaker 1: for you and then you could ask can you give
- 30:16Speaker 1: me more info? Or you could pick up that call,
- 30:18Speaker 1: or you could send it to you know, to voicemail.
- 30:22Speaker 1: So better assistant features call screener. I will say that
- 30:26Speaker 1: the picts are okay with it. The Apple I kind
- 30:29Speaker 1: of liked a little better the picts of the video.
- 30:33Speaker 1: It takes a little while to charge as well, and
- 30:35Speaker 1: the battery life of the iPhone fourteen promac seem to
- 30:37Speaker 1: be a bit longer than the pixel. I had to
- 30:41Speaker 1: buy a case for that this today, and I ended
- 30:44Speaker 1: up getting this Trras magnetic and it has a kickstand
- 30:48Speaker 1: on it, so you can stand your smartphone while it's
- 30:52Speaker 1: you know, on your desk, or even lay it sideways
- 30:56Speaker 1: in landscape mode. One problem I was having if you're
- 30:58Speaker 1: somebody like me, you're going from an iPhone to an Android.
- 31:02Speaker 1: I was getting people who were texting me and I
- 31:04Speaker 1: was not getting the text on my Android device. There
- 31:07Speaker 1: was still going to my my iPhone because of course
- 31:09Speaker 1: I keep everything, and even with the iPhone off, I
- 31:12Speaker 1: turn it on and there were messages. So I was
- 31:14Speaker 1: trying to figure out why is that happening. People say, hey,
- 31:17Speaker 1: did you get my messages?
- 31:18Speaker 3: Like, no, because you didn't de register the phone from
- 31:21Speaker 3: the I Messages service.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Or just turn off the I Messages service. Yeah. You
- 31:26Speaker 1: if you don't have the device, you could get in
- 31:28Speaker 1: touch with Apple and they could de register it, or
- 31:31Speaker 1: you could go into the iPhone itself and just turn
- 31:33Speaker 1: off I message. I never knew that. So that's why
- 31:36Speaker 1: the I messages. As soon as I'd be within Wi
- 31:38Speaker 1: Fi range, then I would get the get the messages.
- 31:41Speaker 1: So again, hopefully now I will get all the messages.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I figured out the apps, and I'm liking it.
- 31:49Speaker 4: So like you figured out the apps. That's a strange
- 31:53Speaker 4: that's a strange statement from you. You figured out the apps.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Yeah, well, because you know you could scroll up this way,
- 32:00Speaker 1: uh huh, you get all the apps, or you can
- 32:03Speaker 1: take each app and move it to where you want
- 32:05Speaker 1: it to go and eventually get your complete lineup of apps. Arrange.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Okay, I get you all right, which is really good.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Because we did get a question that was sent to us.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Actually it came in last week, and I thought it
- 32:18Speaker 1: was pretty cool because they were listening to this, says, hey,
- 32:20Speaker 1: guys heard the show last week, which'd be a couple
- 32:23Speaker 1: of weeks ago, and you were talking about the move
- 32:25Speaker 1: from Apple and Android. But I'm wondering. Years ago, I
- 32:27Speaker 1: remembered on iTunes you could organize the apps on the smartphone.
- 32:34Speaker 1: So you connect your smartphone, you go into iTunes on
- 32:36Speaker 1: your PC, and there were your screens and you could
- 32:38Speaker 1: move the apps where you wanted to go, and I
- 32:41Speaker 1: remember them that went away. I remember I was kind
- 32:43Speaker 1: of bummed at that too, because I like that anyway.
- 32:46Speaker 1: He said, is there something like this on the Android devices?
- 32:49Speaker 1: And this was from Scott in Tucson. I haven't found
- 32:51Speaker 1: it yet, you guys know if is there anything like this?
- 32:56Speaker 4: And I've never used that feature of arranging the apps
- 33:00Speaker 4: via iTunes and stuff. I've now with iOS eighteen, the
- 33:03Speaker 4: latest version of the operating system, I've noticed I can
- 33:06Speaker 4: now put icons in specific locations.
- 33:10Speaker 1: You can always do that, can't you.
- 33:12Speaker 3: No, the longest time, you couldn't, which is why Android
- 33:15Speaker 3: users were dying laughing when Apple's like this brand new,
- 33:19Speaker 3: innovative feature and we were like, brand new, what We've
- 33:24Speaker 3: had that for over a decade, My dude, Yes it's
- 33:27Speaker 3: not new. You are copying our old notebook.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Yeah, new one. I you know, the movie in the
- 33:35Speaker 1: apps has been a bit of a chore, But now
- 33:38Speaker 1: once I'm getting them set up, I'm really beginning to
- 33:41Speaker 1: really like it. And again, it takes great And this
- 33:45Speaker 1: was kind of a joke a couple of years ago
- 33:47Speaker 1: when I was doing the morning show over at one
- 33:49Speaker 1: O seven and we were talking about the fact that
- 33:53Speaker 1: my co host Dakota, her husband would take pictures of
- 33:56Speaker 1: the moon with his Samsung device. Look great. It's just
- 34:01Speaker 1: so excited about the pictures of the moon. But how
- 34:03Speaker 1: often am I going to go take pictures of the moon.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And it's true, they look great on Android devices. iPhones
- 34:10Speaker 1: not so much.
- 34:11Speaker 3: That's because the Pixel devices have a and the Samsungs
- 34:16Speaker 3: as well have a specific with specific models. They have
- 34:19Speaker 3: a literal astrophotography mode where you get your phone on
- 34:24Speaker 3: a stable surface or something and you do night sight
- 34:28Speaker 3: and then a few seconds later the phones like, oh,
- 34:30Speaker 3: you're doing astrophotography. Do you want me to switch to
- 34:32Speaker 3: that mode? And you're like, yes, absolutely do it and
- 34:35Speaker 3: you can take amazing astro pictures with that. Absolutely blew
- 34:40Speaker 3: my mind the first time I did it.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Now, Scott intoson one thing you can do with the
- 34:45Speaker 1: Android device, if you're thinking about it, is easily connected
- 34:48Speaker 1: to your Windows eleven PC. If you've got a Windows
- 34:50Speaker 1: eleven PC, you can get your text messages on your computer,
- 34:56Speaker 1: you can get your phone calls connected on your computer,
- 35:00Speaker 1: you could read your mail messages. So again that's something
- 35:03Speaker 1: to take a look at. And I went ahead and
- 35:05Speaker 1: set it up, and I was like, Okay, that's kind
- 35:06Speaker 1: of cool. You know, I do wish you could organize
- 35:09Speaker 1: the apps that way, But no, it looks like that's
- 35:12Speaker 1: something that went away some years ago.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Microsoft phone Link, I think it is called.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah, phone link is what it is.
- 35:18Speaker 3: You've got that for Windows ten as well. Oh not
- 35:21Speaker 3: just eleven, it's also Windows ten. The other nice thing
- 35:23Speaker 3: about like, yes, the initial setup, getting your apps where
- 35:27Speaker 3: you want them, everything like that, it's a pain. I'm
- 35:29Speaker 3: not going to disagree. But once you have that done,
- 35:32Speaker 3: when your phone does the it's backup, all those positions,
- 35:36Speaker 3: everything like that are saved as part of the backup.
- 35:38Speaker 3: So say that phone had an unfortunate accident with gravity
- 35:44Speaker 3: or something, or you know, a drink out spilled on it.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Nick got fried, You get your new one. Sign in
- 35:49Speaker 3: your Google account says hey, do you want to restore
- 35:51Speaker 3: from this latest backup which it stores up in the
- 35:54Speaker 3: Google drive. Say yes, pulls it all down. Apps go
- 35:58Speaker 3: in the same places you all, only you have to
- 36:00Speaker 3: do it once.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Oh.
- 36:01Speaker 4: I like that.
- 36:02Speaker 1: That is good news. Didn't even know about that one all.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Are we gonna take another quick break. We got a
- 36:06Speaker 1: couple of more listener questions. We'll get to coming up
- 36:09Speaker 1: with tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Matt.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Jones, and I am Slick. You can subscribe to the
- 36:13Speaker 4: show iTunes, speaker tuned in, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music.
- 36:18Speaker 1: You got them all, and now back to tech talk Radio.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Questions. Oh, we get questions. We get lots and lots
- 36:27Speaker 4: and lots and lots of questions. We don't have the
- 36:30Speaker 4: jingle signed to sing it myself.
- 36:31Speaker 1: It's a good tingle. We AI create one for us.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I'll do that for next week.
- 36:39Speaker 4: It's everywhere. It's everywhere.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Matt, you got a question that you you kind of
- 36:43Speaker 1: thought was a good one.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Sure, Sorry, just had to reboot from my brain breaking
- 36:48Speaker 3: from digesting. We do an AI jingle. Carry has a
- 36:52Speaker 3: question coming in. I think I'm dumbfounded by my Wi
- 36:55Speaker 3: Fi hotspot situation. I've been using my phone hotspot, but
- 36:58Speaker 3: apparently my unlimited hotspot is limited, so I run out
- 37:02Speaker 3: and can't watch TV. I'm struggling here trying to figure
- 37:04Speaker 3: out figured it out. I'm told that t mobile is
- 37:06Speaker 3: a thingy I would need, but I can't get it.
- 37:08Speaker 3: What it is, I'm not sure and maybe somebody else
- 37:10Speaker 3: makes this little thingy that I can buy.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Question is what do I need?
- 37:14Speaker 3: So this comes across as a two part of question,
- 37:18Speaker 3: but it's actually not, Harry. What you are talking about
- 37:23Speaker 3: is actually something that I noticed with my own cell
- 37:25Speaker 3: phone plan the other day. I have Google Five's Unlimited
- 37:30Speaker 3: Unlimited super Duper Premium Plus and it lists on there,
- 37:35Speaker 3: you know, unlimited this, unlimited that, and then you'll see
- 37:39Speaker 3: unlimited hotspot data with that tiny little asterisks, and I
- 37:43Speaker 3: can never say that word correctly, so I'm hoping I
- 37:45Speaker 3: was close enough. But when you go down and you
- 37:48Speaker 3: read the terms and conditions for that, most of them
- 37:50Speaker 3: what they say with their you know, quote unlimited hotspot
- 37:53Speaker 3: is you get fifty gigs or twenty five gigs or
- 37:57Speaker 3: whatever your plan is saying, you get of, you know,
- 38:01Speaker 3: like five G hotspot data. And then when you go
- 38:04Speaker 3: over that, it's not that you lose that data, it's
- 38:07Speaker 3: that that data then and they'll usually list it is
- 38:10Speaker 3: then like throttle down to like two hundred something killabytes
- 38:14Speaker 3: per second.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Oh wow.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Now for comparison's sake, five G you're I mean five G.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Last time I checked on my phone was approaching like
- 38:22Speaker 3: gig speeds that's like gigabit per second, and then you
- 38:25Speaker 3: go from gigabit to megabit to kill a bit, so
- 38:27Speaker 3: as you can see that as a drastic drop off.
- 38:29Speaker 3: So this is not so much what thingy you need
- 38:33Speaker 3: to find, it's you need to check your cell phone
- 38:36Speaker 3: plan with your provider and see what type of hotspot
- 38:40Speaker 3: data limits you have, because even the unlimited ones aren't
- 38:43Speaker 3: truly unlimited. If I use over X amount of mobile
- 38:47Speaker 3: data on my quote unlimited plan, I still get data.
- 38:51Speaker 3: It is an unlimited amount of data. I just don't
- 38:53Speaker 3: get unlimited data at that speed. So the reason you
- 38:58Speaker 3: can't watch the TV is because the it has gone
- 39:00Speaker 3: from a fire hose to a trickling, kinked garden hose. Yeah,
- 39:05Speaker 3: and you're trying to move the same amount of data
- 39:07Speaker 3: through it.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Is there any service out there that we could think
- 39:10Speaker 1: of that will just give you the Wi Fi features
- 39:14Speaker 1: that somebody wants to watch, Hulu, Peacock, whatever twenty four
- 39:19Speaker 1: to seven could be able to do? Or is that
- 39:21Speaker 1: just I mean, would starlink be something like a solution.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Maybe starlink would be a solution for that, depending on
- 39:27Speaker 3: what plan you got. I know they've been trying to
- 39:30Speaker 3: slash prices to get people down to that. The one
- 39:33Speaker 3: that I honestly do with my phone is hey, going
- 39:37Speaker 3: back to what we're just talking about with Google Pixels.
- 39:39Speaker 3: With my Google Fi membership, I get a free Google
- 39:46Speaker 3: VPN hard cooked into my phone, so I will turn
- 39:50Speaker 3: on my Google VPN and jump on like Panera's free
- 39:55Speaker 3: WiFi or you know, the McDonald's around the corner or
- 39:58Speaker 3: something like that, because traditionally, speaking is the security guy.
- 40:01Speaker 3: When you jump on free Wi Fi, it's not it's
- 40:04Speaker 3: not going to be secure if there's no password and
- 40:07Speaker 3: you can just hop on. There's a whole bunch of
- 40:09Speaker 3: things that people can do if you then jump on
- 40:12Speaker 3: that and you're behind your own VP and you're adding
- 40:15Speaker 3: in your own layer of security with that, and that
- 40:17Speaker 3: cuts down the amount of data you're using because it's
- 40:20Speaker 3: not you're not using your mobile data plan. You're using
- 40:23Speaker 3: somebody else's free Wi Fi, right.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And that's if they're nearby. If you're in the stick,
- 40:28Speaker 1: you're you're somewhere, that's yeah, what can you're out.
- 40:31Speaker 3: And all you have is a cell signal. I mean
- 40:36Speaker 3: your your hands are kind of tied there.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna be difficult on that one. So uh yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 1: so there is no thinging that we know that we know.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I like the the description of thigging slick. How do
- 40:47Speaker 1: you watch your your shows? Because I know you've always
- 40:51Speaker 1: kind of gone intenna.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Generally, yes, antenna, but there are some streaming stuff that
- 40:56Speaker 4: I do. But first time, we say, Matt, I'm so
- 40:58Speaker 4: glad you you explained this whole unlimited thing. Thank you,
- 41:02Speaker 4: thank you for it was because yeah, like like he
- 41:05Speaker 4: said that there's an asterisk.
- 41:07Speaker 3: There, it's unlimited kind of yeah, exactly.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Now I'm doing the standard Cox thing as well as
- 41:17Speaker 4: the free Wi Fi hotspots kind of thing. I don't
- 41:21Speaker 4: I don't even think I get close because I'm so
- 41:24Speaker 4: cheap to my uh my limit. We are we getting
- 41:29Speaker 4: a terabyte tearabyte in a half now generally with internet
- 41:32Speaker 4: service providers.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I think or even two two terabytes. Yeah, I
- 41:39Speaker 1: remember what I can't pay for tabytes?
- 41:41Speaker 5: That was it?
- 41:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I've been I've been doing all
- 41:46Speaker 4: the freebies. I've been doing the you know, well, well
- 41:48Speaker 4: freak three bees and there's this free v and then
- 41:52Speaker 4: there's a Pluto and Zumo and two.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Bright We see that's three free v is h Amazon Amazon, Yeah, yeah,
- 42:02Speaker 1: you know, see I was thinking. See I was thinking
- 42:04Speaker 1: of the same thing of doing, you know, cutting the cord.
- 42:06Speaker 1: And you know, I'm paying a lot of money to Exfinity,
- 42:10Speaker 1: and we've got a company coming out now called ting
- 42:13Speaker 1: in my area that is providing fiber and it's like
- 42:17Speaker 1: eighty five bucks a month, I guess, uh for uh
- 42:21Speaker 1: for quite a bit of bandwidth. But see, I'm one
- 42:24Speaker 1: of those that I put it on. I leave the
- 42:26Speaker 1: TV on all night. It's kind of I go to
- 42:28Speaker 1: sleep to it. It's just the way that I've been,
- 42:31Speaker 1: you know, raised in the whole bit. So I got
- 42:33Speaker 1: it on a Hallmark all night, and I'm thinking, okay,
- 42:36Speaker 1: if I was, if I was to have it on
- 42:38Speaker 1: you know, the Golden Girls, yes, or the whole Mark
- 42:42Speaker 1: the Golden Girls.
- 42:44Speaker 3: And I'm I'm sorry to interrupt, but you fall asleep
- 42:48Speaker 3: to Big City Girl goes into the Country and Mary's
- 42:52Speaker 3: the apple cider orchard owner that she went to high
- 42:56Speaker 3: school with, or some pumpkin spice flavor of the Sometimes
- 43:00Speaker 3: I fall asleep to that channel, Yes I do. But
- 43:04Speaker 3: I wake up judging you so hard. I'm not even
- 43:10Speaker 3: gonna be polite about it, man, Like.
- 43:13Speaker 1: But I wake up the freezer, like, yeah, it's feel
- 43:16Speaker 1: good TV.
- 43:16Speaker 4: But like, I mean, like Walmart, come I've been waiting for.
- 43:21Speaker 1: But here's the thing I'm so used to that if
- 43:24Speaker 1: I have the TV on all night, that's eating a bandwidth.
- 43:28Speaker 1: So I mean, you know, whether I'm watching that or
- 43:31Speaker 1: Comedy Central or whatever, I'm eating up the bandwidth. I'm
- 43:35Speaker 1: thinking I'm gonna go through that pretty quick. So again,
- 43:38Speaker 1: that's gonna be a big adjustment.
- 43:40Speaker 4: How much you're paying now though.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Two hundred and sixty eight dollars a month. Whoh yeah,
- 43:45Speaker 1: And I've got.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I pay sixty five bucks a month for a century
- 43:50Speaker 3: Link fiber coming directly into my house, gig up, gig down,
- 43:54Speaker 3: and I have no caps.
- 43:56Speaker 1: But do you watch you have any uh like television
- 43:58Speaker 1: that come with that too? I don't need it.
- 44:02Speaker 3: If I want television, I'll sign up for YouTube TV.
- 44:05Speaker 3: And that's what I'm thinking, Yeah, YouTube tea. And I
- 44:09Speaker 3: only sign up for YouTube TV for one very specific
- 44:12Speaker 3: time of the year. And that specific time of the
- 44:15Speaker 3: year is gloriously called football season.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Ah yeah. See for me, it's October on Hallmark because
- 44:21Speaker 1: that's when the holiday movies start appearing.
- 44:24Speaker 4: We go, it's always going back to the Hallmark channel.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Okay, and just like, can you just see him waving
- 44:34Speaker 3: the red flag in front of me? Just like, oh Tooro,
- 44:39Speaker 3: come on, I know you wanna.
- 44:42Speaker 4: So so with the with Ting, here's I do have
- 44:44Speaker 4: a question. And if you can't answer it now, Andy,
- 44:47Speaker 4: it's cool because you're just getting you're considering or just
- 44:49Speaker 4: getting started with them. I have had meetings with Ting,
- 44:52Speaker 4: and Ting was purchased by two cows, right right right, okay,
- 44:56Speaker 4: so I'm interested in finding out, you know later, probably
- 45:01Speaker 4: your experiences with tying, the features all that stuff.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, they're basically tearing up the street right now, putting
- 45:09Speaker 1: in their fiber and they've already marked in my box
- 45:13Speaker 1: they marked by the street, so they're going to be
- 45:15Speaker 1: doing that. And they've got an introductory where you know,
- 45:18Speaker 1: first month is free. Then after I think I want
- 45:20Speaker 1: I'm not quite. I think it's like eighty five bucks
- 45:22Speaker 1: a month, which is about half of what I'm paying
- 45:27Speaker 1: right now just for that for the internet. And then
- 45:32Speaker 1: you have to then you add if I switch to
- 45:34Speaker 1: YouTube TV, I'm saving about one hundred bucks right there.
- 45:38Speaker 1: So again and then there's certain deals. That's why I
- 45:41Speaker 1: think He'sfinity is doing a lot of deals right now,
- 45:43Speaker 1: as well as Cox Cable going to be doing deals
- 45:45Speaker 1: to bundle services so that you stay with them, so
- 45:49Speaker 1: you'll get a better deal because you know you're paying.
- 45:51Speaker 1: You pay Hulu Disney sixteen seventeen bucks, you pay Netflix
- 45:55Speaker 1: seventeen bucks. You know that all adds up.
- 46:00Speaker 3: So it's the new Cox Communications discount. Please don't leave us. Yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 3: but Andy, I did just check it for you. According
- 46:10Speaker 3: to Gemini AI, there we go, looping back to AI
- 46:13Speaker 3: and breaking my brain. Paying Internet does not impose data
- 46:17Speaker 3: caps on its fiber Internet plans, and they do not
- 46:19Speaker 3: have contracts or termination fees as they do not believe
- 46:23Speaker 3: in hidden fees.
- 46:24Speaker 4: So you can come a go as you please on this.
- 46:27Speaker 3: That's what it looks like, and I mean, that's that's
- 46:29Speaker 3: what I have with Century Link. I'm not locked into
- 46:31Speaker 3: a plan.
- 46:31Speaker 4: I am.
- 46:32Speaker 3: When I signed up, I got a price lock for
- 46:35Speaker 3: life guarantee as long as I'm there. It is sixty
- 46:39Speaker 3: five bucks a month. Now, Central Link has started changing
- 46:42Speaker 3: over to Quantum. I have not gotten looped into that yet,
- 46:46Speaker 3: but from people in my neighborhood have cut over saying
- 46:48Speaker 3: it's the same thing. It is, just it's splitting off.
- 46:51Speaker 3: So Quantum is the fiber business and century Link spectrum
- 46:56Speaker 3: that's the other side of the house, right, Yeah, it's
- 46:59Speaker 3: it's you know, sixty five sixty seven bucks a month,
- 47:02Speaker 3: come and go as you please, no data caps. The
- 47:06Speaker 3: only thing that I hope they change is the way
- 47:10Speaker 3: that your your modem authenticates to the divide to like
- 47:14Speaker 3: the network. Is this technology called PPPoE right yea where
- 47:20Speaker 3: your your stuff comes into your house with a v
- 47:22Speaker 3: land tag and setting that up for like your own
- 47:25Speaker 3: firewall and stuff is like there's a point where it's
- 47:28Speaker 3: like I gotta call in, I gotta get my password,
- 47:31Speaker 3: I got to break this drywall with my forehead, like
- 47:34Speaker 3: I just I will eventually get this working. And then
- 47:38Speaker 3: you know, three beers and six hours later you're like,
- 47:41Speaker 3: you know what, their router's not that bad. That's fine,
- 47:43Speaker 3: that's that works. I'll just throw in some access points
- 47:47Speaker 3: in the house and call it a day.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I'm done, you know what. That's And that's the thing
- 47:50Speaker 1: with the cable companies, then the nickel and diming, and
- 47:53Speaker 1: I you know, I have friends at work for for
- 47:55Speaker 1: the big cable companies. And you know, I've I've appreciated
- 47:59Speaker 1: the serve Us, but the nickel and diming. You know,
- 48:02Speaker 1: you want a DVR box, you're gonna pay for that.
- 48:05Speaker 1: For each box you want you have that's also a converter. Oh,
- 48:09Speaker 1: you also gotta pay for the service for the DVR.
- 48:12Speaker 1: You gotta pay taxes to the city. You gotta pay
- 48:14Speaker 1: a sports tax, even though you maybe don't watch any
- 48:17Speaker 1: sports channels. Uh, there's a lot of little things that
- 48:21Speaker 1: when you look at your bill and you break it
- 48:22Speaker 1: down and you just say, wow, this is just it's
- 48:24Speaker 1: just a little crazy. And from what I understand, you
- 48:27Speaker 1: go YouTube TV, you don't pay for that d V
- 48:29Speaker 1: DVR service. It's part of the YouTube YouTube TV, you
- 48:33Speaker 1: know feature, and you get local channels as well.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Now I don't know, well, oh really mostly you get
- 48:41Speaker 3: your local channels.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Oh well, now, what's what's gonna be better? Hulu TV
- 48:47Speaker 1: that does local as well, or YouTube TV.
- 48:51Speaker 4: Here's my problem because now that there's me TV Tunes
- 48:55Speaker 4: right and that's on channel four point four, right, I
- 48:58Speaker 4: want to the service I will consider will give me
- 49:02Speaker 4: all of my digital subchannels, or I don't want you
- 49:05Speaker 4: because I've got to have me TV tunes all right,
- 49:08Speaker 4: got to and script news well, script news extreme right.
- 49:13Speaker 5: So I don't know.
- 49:13Speaker 1: My main thing would be do you get Fox eleven
- 49:16Speaker 1: because you know I'm on Fox eleven. I want to
- 49:19Speaker 1: record myself on the DVR.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I mean, I'm pretty sure with YouTube tv that you
- 49:24Speaker 3: can just check it before you sign up. And the
- 49:27Speaker 3: other thing is if you sign up for YouTube tv,
- 49:30Speaker 3: you get a seven day free trial.
- 49:32Speaker 4: I got two weeks.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I got I got seven days because they caught me
- 49:37Speaker 3: leaving and coming back and leaving and coming back, and
- 49:39Speaker 3: they listen, man, either commit to the relationship or break
- 49:43Speaker 3: up with us.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Now, I will commit to you.
- 49:46Speaker 3: I will commit to you from August through February and
- 49:49Speaker 3: then we're done. But that's the other great thing is
- 49:52Speaker 3: YouTube tv now also has NFL Red Zone and NFL
- 49:57Speaker 3: Sunday Ticket Perfect can actually bundle together. As my team
- 50:02Speaker 3: is not in town, my wife's team is on the
- 50:05Speaker 3: other side of the country. I was like, oh, so
- 50:08Speaker 3: we can watch the Raiders Ravens game and fight here
- 50:11Speaker 3: instead of it like.
- 50:12Speaker 1: A sports bar. That's so much better for everybody. We
- 50:16Speaker 1: got to take another quick break, we come back. We
- 50:18Speaker 1: got more of tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Matt.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Jones, and I am Sick. We're on ex tech talk
- 50:24Speaker 4: Radio as well as Facebook. Look for tech talkers on Facebook.
- 50:27Speaker 6: And now back to tech talk Radio.
- 50:30Speaker 1: So we decided to well, we came back all of
- 50:32Speaker 1: a sudden, Sean was able to come back, so we'd
- 50:35Speaker 1: make it an all Sean segment of the show. What
- 50:37Speaker 1: do you think, Matt slick?
- 50:39Speaker 3: We do it.
- 50:40Speaker 4: It's the segments.
- 50:41Speaker 5: So drones are wise your pick and wise no. So
- 50:48Speaker 5: I'll take one of the listener questions because you guys. Earlier,
- 50:51Speaker 5: Mikey sent us a note via Facebook asking is a
- 50:56Speaker 5: four core three point four gig processor, sir, than a
- 51:01Speaker 5: fourteen cores two point four gigaharts processor. He's getting a
- 51:05Speaker 5: system together to create some music and wasn't sure what
- 51:08Speaker 5: to think. So that's a loaded question because one is
- 51:14Speaker 5: fast in its own right and the other one is
- 51:16Speaker 5: fast in its own right also, So you have to
- 51:18Speaker 5: look at it like this, right, you have four cores.
- 51:22Speaker 5: If you have four cores, there are four lays I
- 51:24Speaker 5: think of think of like traffic lanes. Right, there's more
- 51:26Speaker 5: traffic could go across those four lanes. But they can
- 51:30Speaker 5: go at three point four gigahart.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Speed, so they go at a higher speed.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Yeah, So you're if you're doing a ton of audio
- 51:36Speaker 5: editing with tons of instruments and tons of post processing
- 51:40Speaker 5: and tons of effects and tons of plugins, right, you're
- 51:42Speaker 5: gonna jam up those four lanes, right. But if you
- 51:47Speaker 5: add ten more lanes of traffic but they go slightly slower,
- 51:52Speaker 5: you're gonna be able to process a lot more information
- 51:54Speaker 5: at the same time. It's just you're not gonna see
- 51:58Speaker 5: too much of an impact from a two point four
- 52:00Speaker 5: to three point four gig. So it all depends on
- 52:03Speaker 5: what you're trying to do.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Oh boy, creating music though that there's going to be
- 52:08Speaker 1: a lot of different different things that are going to
- 52:10Speaker 1: be a part of that.
- 52:11Speaker 5: Right, So if I were to pick, I would pick
- 52:14Speaker 5: the one of the fourteen course because it's going to
- 52:16Speaker 5: allow you to do more across If you have a
- 52:21Speaker 5: digital audio you know, a daw a digital audio work station,
- 52:23Speaker 5: and you're running a ton of plugins, right, this is
- 52:27Speaker 5: going to help you not bottlenanking machine.
- 52:30Speaker 1: All right, But all right, well, what if you could
- 52:32Speaker 1: overclock that two point Because a lot of people they
- 52:35Speaker 1: forget about overclocking. If you could overclock the three point four,
- 52:39Speaker 1: or you overclock the two point four to make it
- 52:41Speaker 1: of a three gigor Hurtz processor, you'd be in pretty
- 52:45Speaker 1: good shape with that one, wouldn't you.
- 52:47Speaker 5: Yeah, overclocking the two point four probably to three or
- 52:50Speaker 5: three point two would probably benefit you. Uh, you just
- 52:54Speaker 5: have to at that point worry about the heat. You know,
- 52:58Speaker 5: you have to worry about your cooling. So hopefully that
- 53:01Speaker 5: answers Mikey's question. Opening the floor to you guys.
- 53:04Speaker 4: To let you know. Yeah, not a fan of overclocking,
- 53:07Speaker 4: but I will say this because I've dealt with this
- 53:09Speaker 4: a little bit in the past. Depending on what software
- 53:13Speaker 4: you're using, check to see what they recommend in regards
- 53:17Speaker 4: to hardware, because sometimes you'll be using software. Let's say
- 53:20Speaker 4: you have fourteen cores, You'll using software that only takes
- 53:23Speaker 4: advantage of six.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Oh okay, good point.
- 53:26Speaker 4: It's happened all right.
- 53:27Speaker 3: From my side, I'm on the opposite side of the fences, Slake,
- 53:30Speaker 3: I've overclocked every machine I've had since I think like
- 53:32Speaker 3: two thousand and six. In terms of heat care for
- 53:38Speaker 3: your CPU, it used to be doing a liquid cooling
- 53:41Speaker 3: solution was super expensive super involved. Now you can get
- 53:45Speaker 3: the with they're called AIO all in one liquid coolers
- 53:49Speaker 3: and it's a what's called a closed loop system, so
- 53:52Speaker 3: it's just it comes in a box. It's got the
- 53:55Speaker 3: part that you set the heat sinc That you set
- 53:57Speaker 3: on top of your processor, just like anything else, and
- 54:00Speaker 3: then there's two little raided tubes coming out of it
- 54:03Speaker 3: that run to a radiator that most towers now have
- 54:06Speaker 3: a space built in for three fins. Two or three
- 54:10Speaker 3: fins usually go on top of that, and you've got
- 54:12Speaker 3: a liquid cooling system that will easily take care of
- 54:15Speaker 3: the heat concerns from overclocking. If you're in a laptop,
- 54:19Speaker 3: that's a completely different kettle of fish, and you have
- 54:21Speaker 3: to be careful with overclocking there because laptops natively are
- 54:25Speaker 3: not going to be as irmly regulatable as a tower,
- 54:29Speaker 3: and there is a chance you could cook something if
- 54:32Speaker 3: you're not careful.
- 54:33Speaker 1: You burn your legs too. You don't want to.
- 54:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why for the longest time, Apple stopped referring
- 54:40Speaker 3: to MacBook pros as laptops and as mobile computers because
- 54:44Speaker 3: they did not want you to put them on your
- 54:46Speaker 3: lap because you would burn your lap.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Don't do that, all right, listen we missing. We have
- 54:52Speaker 1: run out of time for this week. Thank you so
- 54:54Speaker 1: much for tuning again, and hopefully you'll be able to
- 54:56Speaker 1: get with us next week. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean
- 54:59Speaker 1: de Weird.
- 55:00Speaker 4: I'm not Jones, then, I am Slick. Tech Talk Radio
- 55:03Speaker 4: dot com is the website. Thank you.
