  May 9th Unity in Action Have you ever been part of a group where

  one person's selfishness affected everybody?
• 0:17
  One bad attitude can drain a room, 1 greedy decision can hurt
• 0:21
  a family. One careless word can divide a
• 0:24
  friendship. But the opposite is also true.
• 0:27
  One gracious person can bring healing, unity, and strength.
• 0:32
  Proverbs chapter 15, verses 26 to 27 says The thoughts of the
• 0:37
  wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but gracious words are
• 0:40
  pure. Whoever is greedy for unjust
• 0:43
  gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will
• 0:47
  live. First Corinthians chapter 12
• 0:50
  verse 7 says to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit
• 0:55
  for the common good. And 1st Corinthians chapter 12
• 0:58
  verse 11 says that the same Spirit gives gifts to each
• 1:02
  person as he wills. That means your life is not
• 1:05
  random and your gifts are not just for you.
• 1:08
  God has placed something in you that can bless others.
• 1:11
  It may not look dramatic. Maybe you encourage people.
• 1:15
  Maybe you notice the lonely person.
• 1:18
  Maybe you serve quietly. Maybe you bring creativity,
• 1:21
  wisdom, kindness, leadership, or prayer.
• 1:24
  In God's family, every part matters.
• 1:27
  But unity requires more than having gifts.
• 1:30
  It requires the right heart. Greed troubles a household
• 1:33
  because selfishness always spills over.
• 1:37
  Pride says my gift matters most. Insecurity says my gift does not
• 1:41
  matter at all. But the Spirit teaches us to say
• 1:44
  what God gave me is for the common good.
• 1:47
  You are needed, but you are not the whole body.
• 1:51
  Others are needed too. When you honor what God placed
• 1:54
  in them and faithfully use what He placed in you, unity becomes
• 1:58
  more than an idea, it becomes action.

  Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 2:04
  giving me a place in your body. Help me reject selfishness,
• 2:07
  greed, pride, and comparison. Teach me to use my gifts for the
• 2:12
  common good and to honor the gifts you have placed in others.
• 2:16
  Make my words gracious, my motives pure and my life a
• 2:19
  blessing to my family, friends, church and community.
• 2:23
  In Jesus name, Amen. What if the battles hitting your
• 2:26
  family are not random and your home can become a place where
• 2:30
  darkness loses every right to stay?

  But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these,

  distributing to each one separately as he desires.

  For as the body is 1 and has many members, and all the

  members of the body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.

  For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether
• 5:20
  Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free, and we're all given to

  drink into one spirit. For the body is not one member,

  but many. If the foot would say, because

  I'm not the hand, I'm not part of the body, it is not therefore

  not part of the body. If the ear would say, because

  I'm not the eye, I'm not part of the body, it's not therefore not

  part of the body. If the whole body were an eye,

  where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where

  would the smelling be? But now God has set the members,
• 5:51
  each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.

  If they were all one member, where would the body be?

  But now they are many members, but one body, the I can't tell

  the hand, I have no need for you.

  Or again, the head to the feet, I have no need for you.

  No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be
• 6:11
  weaker are necessary. Those parts of the body which we
• 6:15
  think to be less honorable. On those we bestow more abundant
• 6:18
  honor, and our unpresentable parts have more abundant
• 6:22
  propriety, whereas our presentable parts have no such
• 6:26
  need. But God composed the body
• 6:28
  together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part.
• 6:32
  That there should be no division in the body, but that the
• 6:35
  members should have the same care for one another.
• 6:39
  When 1 member suffers, all the members suffer with it.
• 6:42
  When 1 member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
• 6:46
  Now you are the body of Christ and members individually.
• 6:50
  God has set some in the assembly.
• 6:51
  First apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle
• 6:55
  workers, then gifts of healings, helps governments, and various
• 6:59
  kinds of languages. Are all apostles, Are all
• 7:03
  prophets, are all teachers, are all miracle workers?
• 7:06
  Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various
• 7:09
  languages? Do all interpret but earnestly
• 7:12
  desire the best gifts? Moreover, I show a most
• 7:15
